    I was initially referred to Vector Security by a relative and have been a loyal customer for more than 20 years. However, services were recently canceled due to a malfunctioning system, the absence of a service contract, astronomical rates for home service and a significant increase in wait time to speak with Vector’s customer service department.     I have been with Vector for about 20 years.. My dog knocked an outer cover off a door sensor and I could not find it. I called and asked about one and they immediately said a tech had to come out and they do not send them to customers. Even when it is something simple like snapping a door sensor cover on. It takes 2 seconds. I am seriously considering ending the service. Just seems like charge, charge, charge.

    Our original Vector system was installed about ten years ago so it was time for a refresh. I considered SimpliSafe and other options but opted to stay with Vector because they are reliable and we felt confident in their service. Yes it was more expensive, but we felt it was worth it to have human backup. Yesterday all new equipment was installed so we are completely updated. The installer (Eli) explained everything clearly and helped us set up our online portal and the Vector app on our phones. The touch panel is a huge upgrade with many more options. Happy to stay with Vector because if there are any issues I know I will get quick and knowledgeable help.

    It seems that when it came time to make the deal and run my card, for the first month and activation fee, urgency was there. Once issue occurred, and it was found that we were signed up for more cameras than we have, and the cameras we do have and one of the locks is not functioning, the urgency and communication stopped. This isn’t the service we expected and would like to see what it would take to cancel and receive a full refund. Seems simple, since we are paying for more of the package than is actively working. If your company can’t/won’t honor what we were charged for we will look elsewhere.

    ATTN: Pamela **. Tiffany called me to schedule a service call due to an issue I was having with a sensor. I was not a happy customer at this point, but Tiffany handled this situation like a pro! I'm assuming her major was Psychology, because she beautifully choreographed that conversation to go a much more peaceful route. :) It was recorded, so go take a listen for yourself....and give that woman a huge bonus, because I was seriously considering not renewing our contract. This is a security company, so when equipment goes down, it's important to have it fixed in a timely manner. Yes, it was my fault that I took so long to sign the rider, but it would be reasonable for me to expect service within 48 hours.....not weeks.

    Your poor customer service people are probably dealing with really angry customers right now.... I mean, I clearly can't be the only one waiting weeks for an appointment....which probably means your service people are working crazy hours. I hope upper management is taking notice and will be making decisions based on investing in their work force. Also...another shout out to Zander. He was such a nice guy! I really enjoyed having him in our home. (He also deserves a bonus!)

Today, I reached out to ‘sales’ for assistance, explaining my situation and they essentially said “sorry, call customer service.” I was simply reaching out to get my system serviced/upgraded as it's almost 7 years old. As a retired Police Captain, I’ve been recommending Vector to family and friends for years.     First I was promised an extra monitor but after install I was told it's impossible. I was billed right away but the system only started to work a month later and had to wait for 2 techs to figure out they had a wire shortage. The doorbell is never working. I'm never able to answer on the phone or on the tablet and what's mainly disappointing I had agent come down and make sure the house is secure they installed sensor on second floor window as maybe we can access it from the porch roof but I just realized all doors and window of back of house are not secured. I think a thief would first go to back door vs a window on second floor. When I called them it's more than a week and no one calls back

    Chose Vector because they have a contact in my neighborhood. Installed a month ago. First night.... the alarm went off in the middle of the night....2AM. Every 3 minutes it was announced that some window/door was being "intruded". Sounded like an army was invading. I had to shut off the volume to sleep. They fixed it. Now the doorbell doesn't work. Twice. Someone came out and fixed it once. Worked when he left. Now it doesn't. Called service, more than once. Played telephone tag. On the third try finally someone called me back. Renee couldn't have been nicer and more respectful and apologetic.

    On November 1, the earliest appointment that she could give me is November 19!!! Seriously? I told her that I know full well that it isn't her fault but I am about ready to tell Vector to come and take all their equipment out and cancel my service. I can get someone else. I have a system that is a month old and it doesn't work, and it takes weeks to get someone to fix it. That tells me you have a lot of service work out there, which means lots of unhappy customers. I am one of them.

    My name is Ira **. I live at **. I have been a loyal customer of Vector Security for the whole time I have owned my townhouse, i.e. over 25 years. Because of this longevity and loyalty ... and ... I believe loyalty must extend to both sides of an e-mail, a letter, and/or a phone call, I am sending you this letter and what I believe is my rightful request for “owed and delinquent services”.

    A few months ago, because I was very happy with my two and a half decades old, Vector security system, I contacted Roger **, my original Vector salesman and he and I put together a whole new security system. At that time, we included a door-bell camera purchased through Vector and we decided to have it installed by your technician the same time he would install all the other new equipment of our whole new security system. A relatively small but important problem arose at installation time and now it seems to have become a fatal problem that I believe Vector is responsible and accountable for – and to correct and resolve.

    A component – a small transformer - of the new system that the technician knew and said we needed, was not in his truck. The transformer supplies step up voltage to BOTH the doorbell camera and the door bell. When one fails BOTH fails. This is unsatisfactory for a security system that is supposed to protect my wife and me and our home.

    I don’t remember the technician’s name but he said that he would come back and install a newer, more powerful transformer because the doorbell and the camera were too big of a load on this old one. He also suggested I could buy one and install it myself BUT I am not an electrician nor do I trust myself to do that modification nor do I want to be responsible when I just paid a lot of money for a new system from you and expect it to be professionally and completely installed.

    To remind you, Vector had installed the our first Vector security system. I accepted his promise as part of the Vector Security installation process. This delay/mistake was not of significance because the system itself – at that time - was up and working and as a good customer, I was willing to wait for the absolutely-required upgrade. I waited for a call – that never came – and then forgot about this problem until I got your e-mail and tried the doorbell camera – which had worked perfectly for a while after he left – I know, I used it - until I guess, someone rang the bell a few days after that last day. The ringing of the doorbell seemed to shut down that part of the system.

    As I said, after I got your e-, I then tried the doorbell camera and now neither the doorbell nor the camera now work. The doorbell-camera works from my cellphone app so this part of the system is OK. The camera is a very important part of the security system. I want the camera to work, and that’s number 1, but I want the doorbell to work also. Remember, right now neither one works and this is unsatisfactory.

    To repeat, during the installation, the technician foresaw the problem and said I need a new, stronger transformer and I was promised one during the installation of my new vector security system. The problem, again, was that he didn’t have a new one in his stuck to install. Again, I do not have the expertise to buy and/or install a new one myself and need Vector to send the device itself and a technician to install it.

    I am requesting vector to send someone back to my home with the needed/required new transformer and fix my system like I expect it and paid for it to work. Again, my 25 years as a loyal customer gives me the right to a little more of your professional courtesy from you than a broken promise and a broken camera. Although this is not an emergency situation, I hope you expedite your response to my problem.     I chose Vector because the sales person worked for a branch that was owned by a military veteran. My interactions with staff at the vector customer support level have been horrible. The agent input our security passcode in the system incorrectly and when my daughter set the alarm off the company wouldn’t take our password to cancel police dispatch (because it was entered wrong). Police came out to our home all due to Vector’s incompetence.

    This is also our first home and alarm. We didn’t know to get an alarm permit with our county AND that it costs extra. So because the police responded to a “false alarm” (again vector’s fault) we received a $95 bill in the mail. At this point I have to call every 30 days to tell them NOT to monitor my alarm even though I am stuck under contract to pay them. After calling many times NO ONE will follow through with refunding the $95 fee that Vector caused and no one knows how to permanently stop monitoring on my account without canceling my contract and forcing me to pay $1600 for the equipment at one time.

However, I have had this system installed since 2018 and have had at least 27 service calls for malfunctioning equipment! They finally got the cameras to work except for the front doorbell. The camera itself works. However, despite switching out the camera, it still does not detect someone approaching the house. Works for a while then detection stops. The last visit to fix this was on 9/15/2021. Additionally, it is very difficult to reach the service department.. I am paying $80/month. I wish I had never purchased this Vector alarm system!

    My alarm was activated on Friday evening around 5:30pm. I received the notification on my email. So I drive home to check things out. Thank goodness it was a false alarm... I gave the company a call and spoke with a rep named Mia and I asked why didn't someone call me to alert me of the possible emergency. She stated they did call me and it was unsuccessful and they called the next number on my list (which that did not happen) and said they left a voicemail. They also put an alert in to the police department (which she didn't cancel because they came an hour later 3 cars deep after I already left my home). I asked Mia to read my phone number and she read the incorrect number I told her that was not my number and she proceeded to say "Well that's what we have".

    This is the second time a mistake on Vector's behalf that I had an issue. The first one was with billing. I was making automatic monthly payments and then it stopped. Someone reached out to me from the billing department and it was confirmed they had the numbers on my bank account mixed up (how does that even happen in the middle of automatic payments?). I corrected that and now this... I stated y'all called me when something went wrong for my payment but can't dial the right number for an emergency? Mia goes on to say "well I don't know what number they have for you in billing but this is what we have in monitoring". These types of actions do not make me feel safe or protected in my home. You all need to make sure every area of the company is thorough when it comes to the safety and security of others. I will be reaching out to Corporate too if they care.

    I just put this rock I found out about this company because an older gentleman knocked on my door. He was telling us about the service. He said that we will be paying 30 something dollars a month where new homeowners didn't know any better which was a lie. We signed up. We didn't know to after we signed up that we have to have a three-year contract with you guys. The service suck. Something's always wrong with the door bell service and the camera it always go to Red. Also the filming of it the taping of his stops. We can't tell who won the door half the time.     I would love to get out of this contract is not what I signed up for and I let the person know I talked to that the guy never told us that a for three-year contract when he was so he signed up and it was my fault also cuz I should have read the terms of things that they sent to my phone instead of believing that older gentleman that knocked on my door.     The first guy who installed my equipment apparently installed it wrong.     First of all let me start by saying Mike the installer was phenomenal. He tried his best to be able to get me a door camera but because of the required voltage I was not able to have one. I was using my old one from Vivint until my account expired. Now I have nothing. While I was sleeping my car was broken into but without a camera I cannot see who was there. Someone committing a crime right under my nose is very disturbing. I do not feel safe with Vector.

    I called Mike recently because many times when I am trying to lock the door with the panel it sends me a message that my door did not lock because of mechanical difficulty. So I am never sure if my door is locked or not. Also when I come home it is sometimes hard to unlock the door without pushing hard on the numbers. Sometimes they don't even take. I feel less safe with Vector than I did with Vivint. I have no camera service, and only the monitor screen which sees nothing. I am stuck in a contract feeling unsafe. I didn't even get a sign for the yard!!! I will not refer anyone to Vector and pray I can stay safe 'til I am out of this contract.

    I had been a satisfied and proud customer of Vector Security for several years, and not only has the service has always been impeccable, the products have been technology forward and durable. I recently had a service call to my condo for an issue with one sensor, that my tenant had reported. On the day of the appointment, she called me stating that the Service Tech was taking his time and moving her furniture, opening all of the windows and that it would take another hour of her time, that she did not have. I asked her to ask him to call me. He did not. I called him and asked him why it was taking him so long, and she had to leave. He said he needed to do an celluar upgrade, but we could reschedule and suddenly he'd be done in 15 mins.

    I was pleased, my tenant got to work on time, the sensor was fixed and all was well. Until, I received my invoice. The Technician took it upon himself to change not 1 of the sensors but 4 total without my consent. Ones that were not reporting any issues. This is dishonest and predatory because these service calls are based on the time the technicians are there. Also, at the time of scheduling the appointment I made it known that this property is being rented and all questions, concerns, and billing should go through me. The Tech had my number because he called me to give his ETA. This type of dishonesty is not appreciated and so far outside of what I've ever experienced with Vector, that it's definitely time to move on.

    I did not choose Vector, I inherited it from Hammond. In comparison with what we were used to with Hammond, we find Vector customer service far inferior. When I called Hammond, I got a live person answer my call right away. No such luck with Vector. Sometimes all I get is "Please leave a message".     I was double charged for my monthly service TWICE because February was 28 days and the payment date fell on a weird date. Customer service said they would change the date and make the correction. It double charged me again!!! A supervisor finally cleared it up. The front door camera video on the phone app works when it wants to. Not a WIFI Signal issue as I've tried it right next to the router. Requested a service technician to come out months ago. NO RESPONSE!! I don't even want to call them anymore because I know they're not going to show up. For $65/month it's too much for 3 door sensors, an A/C panel and a front door camera. I wish I could get out of this contract and choose a different provider with more options, or put in my own from Google, but the previous owner of the house asked me to keep the service to not have to pay the early termination fee. Now I'm stuck with it! Not satisfied with this service at all.

    New installation. Vector provides basic through our HOA. Initial consult for upgrade guys were great. Took a while to get out here. Then took all day to install 1 camera and a doorbell and they were not able to finish the rest of the job. But they said they had to collect payment. Couldn't tell me when they were coming back out. No one ever contacted me. I reached out to them and got no response and months later no one has still ever finished the job. No one proactively followed up to finish either. I should not have paid them until they completed and they probably would have been out here and on top of it. They insisted.

    The storage won't allow you to video all the time so we get a message 10 days in to the month telling us or storage is full and then shuts down. Ridiculous. When someone rings the doorbell I get a notice and then it takes forever for the app to pull up to see who is at the door and communicate through the doorbell system. People leave before I can answer. Also was told it would connect to Alexa through Alarm.com and it doesn't at all. They installed thermostats and that were supposed to be smart and they aren't either.

    We chose Vector Security because a friend of mine was pitching vector to me for a while and honestly it was a little cheaper than the others we researched. I could say that was a mistake. There has been several times where my cameras just don't go off for obvious movement in our front and back. There has been more than 3 times that I'm aware of when we opened our doors with the alarm on and the whole system just rebooted and didn't do its job. We also had a break-in on our car and where the technician placed the camera over our garage it missed the whole thing and when I asked them to come back out and move the cameras they only moved the front one and so I asked the technician to schedule or make someone aware we wanted the back moved also and I still haven't heard from anyone. Basically you pay for decoration and hope they intimidate someone.

    I've been with Vector for a few years with no complaints. This installation was definitely unimpressive, the 1st team came and changed out the system. They asked did I have any questions, showed me how to use the panel and they left. Later when I was actually using it I realized the volume was too low, I no longer got alerts on my phone and my 3 alarm fobs did not work. So a different guy came back, added an extra speaker, changed out the alarm fobs, and left. I finally figured out the fibs were actually slow to send out signals to the panel. No one actually went through all the bells and whistles on the new panel. And when the 2nd guy came back he activated an annoying voice that counts down when I arm the system to stay. I don't really like this new panel, and will not be renewing the contract when this one ends!!!

    I changed from landline to wireless. The tech has trouble getting it connected and it was taking 20 to 30 minutes for the system to respond wirelessly. It is still not working. I get alerts that it was turned off at 3:00 in the morning when it was not. The app will not turn the system on or off. The app shows the system is on when it is actually off. The alarm went off but I did not receive a phone call. When I called about it, they said they did not receive a message and that my system has shown it has not worked when tested for 3 months. I have called the office several times to have someone come look at it and never get a call back. Extremely disappointed with the service. Will not recommend to anyone.

    Vector Security has the worst customer service. They never response to call and never call back. Sent several emails but they would never reply. I rate them negative (-5) stars. I needed to stop my contract with them but no one to talk to and always have calls on voice-mail. I had to stop payment, maybe this will get their attention but over a month as usual, no calls and no emails from vector Security.

    When I first got it I was very satisfied, my equipment needed upgrading, and they told me when I upgraded I wouldn’t have to sign a new contract which was not true. I am not satisfied with the equipment or the service and will only stay as long as I have to. I am very dissatisfied with everything.

    I wish I realized this was a 5 year contract! The service is horrible! Door camera continuously says “video device-not responding.” No warning is given when the battery is about to die on the door lock! I was locked out of my house because our battery died and Vector did NOTHING to help, had to call/pay a locksmith to help me get in. I do not recommend this company to anyone I know. I’ve called customer service because of wanting to cancel and was transferred SEVERAL times. I will cancel as soon as I can!

    I chose Vector Security to protect my home. Have not been able to use my alarm comfortably since it was installed more than a year ago. Every time I try to use my alarm when I go away it goes off for false alarms. The system has not worked the way I was told it would work from day one. I left a message a long time ago for someone that cares to contact me so we could try to make my system usable. I am still waiting for someone to contact me. I would have stopped my service from the beginning except I would have to pay a fee for the door locks and install. So I will still wait for someone to contact me about my system that has not worked properly since it was installed. Vector has no problem contacting me quickly when my card needs to be renewed. To make my system work they could care less as long as they are getting their money.

    Can you send customers warnings before their contract auto renews? We’re with your team another year because we weren’t informed of when the contract was going to auto renew. It would be a fair request if you allowed people out of a contract after the first initial 36 months if you’re not going to inform them that their contract has been auto renewed for a year.

    Technicians from local branch were awful. Very unprofessional. Left holes in my walls in multiple places and when we moved left the security cameras I bought at the old house. Owner of local branch is absolutely horrible as well. Not professional at all. Did not go over anything with me or tell me I was signing a contract. He is a fraud. Very disappointed and would never recommend Vector to anyone. Have had to switch to ADT due to poor service at VECTOR.

    While your product has the potential to be an outstanding home security system for my needs, it has lacked the overall satisfaction required to render that delivery. I have more unsecured system days with your system than I have had secured days (meaning the system has been down in some way). Even when the system has been in operation, regardless of my settings, it has taken up to more than 10 or more minutes to receive a notification or alert. That is enough time for someone to access my home and attack a loved one or I. I am not sure if you would like to entrust your life in the hands of a system like that, but I'm not willing to place the lives of the people that I love and in the care of such a system.
