Our less than 3 year old Thermador refrigerator has been broken for 6 weeks. Two service visits with a minimum wait time of two weeks. More parts on order. More than three weeks to get a new fan motor. Completely inept service company. Will never buy another Thermador product.

When we re-modeled our kitchen, we splurged on a "professional-style" Thermador range (specific model: Thermador Pro-Harm 30" Gas Range). It looks great, but cooks like a furnace with no brakes! Specifically, the oven initially spikes the temperature in the pre-heat cycle, often almost 100-degrees. Set it to 350°F, and you’ll get something like 435°F. After about 30 minutes, it settles somewhat — but the temperature continues to fluctuate, generally running 25–35 degrees too hot.
Having logged the problem, a Thermador technician came out and we demonstrated the issue firsthand. He took multiple measurements but didn't really fix anything: his response in a nutshell was 'Thermadors run hot.' Seriously? For nearly $5,000, you’d expect the oven to at least hit and hold the right temperature. Our old GE range did a better job—for a fraction of the price.

I purchased a Thermador "Professional Series" 36" cooktop in around 2016. The griddle has the teflon worn away or cooked off....Probably should have complained about that....Too many pancakes for kids made apparently. Well, now moving out, and figured the griddle top would be a very standard, and in demand product. WRONG. Don't have, don't know when (or if, probably) they will get them. My Freezer debacle 2 years ago was far worse and cost me $5000. Will NEVER purchase this brand again.

We have a 48 in range with double oven. The oven is electric, it take a really long time to reach baking temperature and we have frequent errors in the screen panel, so unhappy with this appliance, you should not have to be a genius to turn it on or troubleshoot issues. Not user friendly at all. The price and advertising does not match the product. I really wanted to like it, good looks but poor performance, very unhappy

If I can give zero stars, I would I have been without a freezer for months now. They keep sending a repair guy who does not even diagnose the correct reason. My freezer is broken.. I had this appliance only six years and my refrigerator and my freezer both stopped working. They don’t prioritize you at all, even if they the Repair was unsuccessful. These appliances are garbage and I’m going to start a lawsuit on how poorly I was treated and how expensive these appliances are.

When we were building our house, we purchased all Thermador appliances. They look nice, but we have had multiple issues with most of the items we purchased. We have only had the units 4 years, and during that time we have had 2 ovens go out, a microwave, wine fridge and food warmer have issues. Customer service is very poor. We have gone back and forth with them trying to get our wine cooler repaired/replaced. They finally agreed to replace it, and the unit they brought had stripped screws so that we could not put our custom cabinet doors on it. Thermador only had one approved dealer that could do the repairs, and they did not accept their invoice because the company didn’t have a letterhead. The company so far has been unhelpful with getting the door fixed right. Would never buy this brand again. If you are wanting a high end appliance, I would say spend a little extra for the Sub Zero or Wolf brand.

I love my new Thermador refrigerator, but their customer service is terrible. Despite claiming 7 AM-10 PM EST hours, you can never get through—the system always says they're closed. Their website looks like it hasn't been updated since COVID, and the chatbots are useless. All I needed was to find out which water filter to buy, but it's impossible to get help. Great appliance, but be prepared for zero customer support when you need it.

Thermador has the worst service. DO NOT BUY. Purchased the high end PRD364WDGC 36-INCH DUAL-FUEL PRO. GRAND® RANGE WITH GRIDDLE. The oven $15,000 has NEVER worked. I was patient and went through the process of service calls (takes a month), ordering part (a few weeks), coming back to install the new parts (a month), nothing worked. At this point the service person recommended replacing. Sent in the report and since then, have heard, 'we appreciate your patience" "we are truly sorry for the ongoing delay" "Your case is still under review"....
What exactly are they reviewing? AN OVEN THAT HAS NEVER WORKED. I don't think this is much of a head scratcher. For SEVEN MONTHS I have had no oven. My needs clearly have zero impact. They could care less of their customer. They just keep stringing this along. Don't even consider Thermador, RUN from purchasing anything Thermador. Such a regret. I want a refund at this point at buy another brand.

I do NOT recommend Thermador. We remodeled our kitchen 6 years ago and bought a very expensive oven and range and microwave. After the first year the motherboards on the ovens had malfunctioned and had to be replaced. Luckily they were under warranty but that’s not what you expect when you purchase a luxury brand appliance. Both ovens have never maintained proper cooking temperatures and have been challenging because of that. Yesterday I turned on my range and it registered the temperature then never heated up….so here comes another expense and I’m dreading what the service technician is going to find this time.. Yet again the range has a malfunction.
The microwave also takes inordinately long to heat anything (as compared to an inexpensive counter top model) and the wheel that revolves the tray wore down for no reason. It caused sparks when it was turning and we had to purchase a new part after an expensive house call. I CANNOT believe the range just malfunctioned AGAIN….I’m speechless and disgusted as well. These products are very expensive and supposed to be top of the line and I have had nothing but issues since purchasing them. I wish I had purchased an inexpensive brand that I could count on to function! NEVER AGAIN!

AVOID THIS BRAND! We replaced multiple appliances and all of them have issues. The "stainless steel" oven racks literally show rust after only a couple weeks of use, when the only exposure to water was the initial wash that they recommend. Unbelievable. 42" French Door Refrigerator has a serious design defect which causes ice to get pushed behind drawer, where it's impossible to remove and it prevents the drawer from closing! I will pursue a complete refund replacement of these appliances, as the quality is horrible and we are only a couple weeks in.

DO NOT BUY! I purchased this refrigerator with the expectation of premium quality and reliability. Unfortunately, the appliance has experienced significant issues, including not cooling (internal temperature was over 80 degrees), despite being less than 4 years old. Even more frustrating is the repeated failure of your customer service department to resolve the problem in a timely or effective manner. I have contacted your team on multiple occasions, and while I was promised a resolution, the issue remains unresolved. I have experienced long wait times, missed service appointments, and a general lack of accountability and follow-through. We continue to wait, over 2 months for a resolution, but customer service is unhelpful, uninformed and incompetent.

I purchased an entire kitchen -- refrigerator drawer had a problem and top of it was cracked inside. They ordered replacement part, but that took two trips because wrong part was sent. Also, upon delivered the freezer drawer didn't close right so the installation people put pressure on it to make it work and instead it doesn't close flush (which kind of takes away from the look, even though it might be I'm the only one to notice). The stainless on their products is not great. The inside of the refrigerator almost looks like there are rust spots trying to come through. The stainless on the hood was marred when we opened the box, and didn't polish out.
The biggest issue has been the combo microwave/oven which has errored if using the meat probe. Thermador sent a different probe, and service people also provided different probe and replaced circuit board, but that never resolved the problem. If you use the meat probe, it errors and turns the oven off! I've tried with large pieces of meat as well as small. The last two times I've tried it gives Error8501. Because of the problems I've had, I paid $2,700+ for extended service plan for all appliances, only to be told that because the meat probe issue was never fixed correctly under the original warranty, it is a NON-COVERED service. They never fixed it, so it isn't covered????

Shortly after my Thermador range’s warranty expired, the spindle/thermostat broke for the electric griddle. I was able to purchase the replacement part directly from Thermador’s website, but when I requested the technical documentation needed to perform the repair, they refused. Despite owning the appliance outright, I was told I didn’t have the right to repair it because I don’t live in California, Oregon, or Minnesota—states with specific right-to-repair laws.
Thermador provided no formal explanation beyond a generic statement: “We are not legally required to provide technical documentation, so we don’t.” I had to scour the internet to find a repair guide for a similar model and ultimately completed the repair myself. Still, Thermador has refused to share the proper documentation or justify their refusal in a meaningful way.

Do not, I repeat DO NOT waste the space or your hard earned money on the coffee maker. My experience, SO FAR: 1. Backorder for several months. 2. Installers didn't know how to install and had the tubes set up like a Rollercoaster...didn't drain. 3. 2nd set comes out. Says it's installed right and must be a faulty machine. 4. Scheduled appt for 3 wks out. Night before, tech calls in sick. Only ONE TECH IN WEST PALM BEACH 5. We had to take it out for a cabinet repair. Put it back in ourselves and it started draining. So I canceled the appt. 6. Machine suddenly couldn't fill water. Descaled and cleaned, that is annoying as all heck and you have to spend a very long time emptying the tray over and over and over and over and over and over and over again. For it to still not fill water. 8. And why did I have to empty over and over if the drain started working? Because it stopped working.
Endless stress and nonsense on this overpriced hunk of garbage and the "professionals" on the phone and in person have no clue (and will tell you this) about the coffee machine. I'm borderline ready to go 'office space' on this coffee machine and picket at the appliance dealer.

I would be VERY cautious if you are considering buying any Thermador appliances – caveat emptor! We have outfitted our house with a Thermador steamer, oven, microwave, fridge/freezer. The units are a little over 5 years old. To date we have had to replace the microwave, the freezer went completely dead for over a month, and now the steamer needs to have the front control panel replaced! Compounding the problem: when we called Thermador to get a technician or assistant we were greeted with “we do not have any technicians in your area”. Great... take our money but don’t service (or offer alternatives) for your faulty products! We paid a considerable amount of money on our Thermador appliances expecting a quality, long-lasting product. If you are considering this brand as an option, I would warn you to consider other options.

New column freezer delivered September 24, now March 27, has not worked since day 1. Freezes and then gets hot then freezes then gets hot over and over and over. First tech said to put frozen food in it because the auto defrost happens twice a day and it is designed to use the frozen food to keep temp cold. Really? $8000 for a freezer that needs frozen food to make it work. It now smells like shrimp. Did that not fix the problem...surprise. Next tech said we must be leaving the door open. Really, that is insulting. Scheduled new repair slot for today...they cancelled it. They want me to wait 10 days for another service call. 6 months and no results from the supplier or Thermador. We replaced our 27 year old 36" Thermador gas cooktop with a Masterpiece Thermador gas cooktop with lighted dials and two extra low select burners. We got a package deal for 3 Thermador appliances so we replaced the old one which was still working. The new one excels with the ultra low cycling on and off low burners which are perfect for simmering sauces and stews for hours on end without boiling off everything. Easy to melt hard chocolate as well. The illumination for the dials are a nice feature. You know when the burners are on so if someone forgets to turn it off when removing a hot pan, you will catch the fact it is on. Easy to see and catch at night. Would buy it again. Beautiful and well made. Quality product.

In the last six months, we have had to replace the motherboard in one of the ovens (over a thousand dollars), the freezer electronics blew (another thousand dollars), and now our mini fridge is not working and blowing the circuit breaker!!! I still can’t believe it. We take a day off work and they don’t show up. Today they came back to replace the screen of our range and the tech had no idea why he came. Not only did he not have the parts but he didn’t have a work order.
Another day off and no resolve. I had to call and stay on the phone for an hour to get it figured out. Now they can’t come for another month. I have had my double oven for almost 20 years (purchased in 2005). Never a problem. Then got an error code. I called service over a week ago and asked if they could come the next day. They said yes. The next day they called and said they couldn't make it. Could they come Monday between 4 and 7. I figured I would work from home that day. Around 5 p.m. they called and said he would be there around 7. Waited and waited by 9:30 figured they weren't coming. Then I made another appointment for Friday morning 9-12. Waiting and waiting no show no call. Also, they wouldn't provide me with the phone number or name of the authorized service agent which I thought was very strange.
In 2010 there was a part recall and at that time they provided me with all that info so that I could speak to the technician. Not so this time. I hate to say it but I believe their call center is outsourced. Also, when you call in, the recording says we strive to give you wonderful service or some such nonsense. Today I decided I would search Thermador service reviews and found all of these wonderful reviews, all for 1 star. I am sure they would be less than 1 but 1 is the lowest you can give. Even though I love my double oven, I will never ever buy another Thermador product and would NOT recommend them to anyone.

Thermador is just about the worst consumer product company I’ve ever dealt with in the 45 years I’ve been a homeowner. My refrigerator freezer electrical system got fried in Hurricane Helene. I was ready to just toss it as a loss when my contractor recommended at least calling them to see if they could service it. After all, it was only 2 years old and cost $15,000.
Note that until I have the refrigerator freezer working my home - almost completely repaired and otherwise habitable - the home is uninhabitable. I have to stay elsewhere. Lucky for me, I had a place to go to, So I call and tell them the straight facts and ask can you fix this? We will send out a service guy to evaluate it. So the fellow shows up. He knows he’s been sent to repair the electrical system in an app, Ian ** caught in a flood. He says so as he comes into the residence. He looks at it and says - yes, your electrical panel is fried. I can fix it. I’ve fixed flooded units before. But if your cooling system is affected, it is still fixable but will cost more. I say fine. He says, well here’s the problem. I don’t have any electrical panels with me. He checks his tablet and sees - they sent the panel to a location 90 minutes away. STRIKE ONE
He says I can’t drive three hours to get this done. We’ll have to reschedule. He looks at his tablet and gives me a date and four hour time frame. So on the appointed date, I go to the site and wait. And wait. Four hours pass and I call. Where is he? Answer - we don’t have a scheduled date for you. I explain how the serviceman gave me the appointment and they say, service agents can’t schedule themselves. STRIKE TWO.
They say they will reschedule me. I get two emails. 1/3/25 (Friday) and 1/6/25 (Monday). I call and say, why do you have TWO appointments on TWO days. Well, the refrigerator is considered one appliance. The freezer is a second appliance. Even though it was sold as a side by side refrigerator freezer at a single price. VERY WEIRD. I say that the same guy fixing the electrical system on a freezer can do the same on a refrigerator. They say yes, that’s true and the fellows who comes on 1/3 will probably do both. Hmmm. ODD.
So once again I show up half an hour early and sit and wait. No one shows. I call. They say well yes, you’re right. There are no notes in the file regarding this appointment so it’s clear that no one came. I’d like to know why as I spent 5 hours traveling and waiting. Please tell me why no one showed up. I don’t know. Now we all know that a person was assigned to the service call - he would t even bother to call the fellow or his dispatcher. Just I don’t know.
So two scheduled appointments in a row and both ghosted me. With no excuse or explanation. STRIKE THREE. So they tell me, go back Monday and the next guy will probably handle both the refrigerator and freezer. The time frame on the confirming mail says 8am to 12pm. I will get a call the night before or the next morning. So I call Sunday night. They are closed. So much for calling the night before. I get there at 7:30am Monday. At 8:15am I call. I’m tell them, I didn’t get a call last night or before the 8 to noon time frame of my scheduled appointment. Well, you’ll get a call by 9:30am. Now why would you schedule an appointment for 8 am if a call for confirming more specific timing won’t HAPPEN until 9:30? That means the appointment was at best 9:30am to noon. Why did you burn 90 minutes of my time? STRIKE FOUR.
Sometime after 9:30, I get a call - he'll be there by noon. Shortly after noon, I call back. Where is he? We'll call you back. They do - now he'll be there about 12:30. And then he calls. He tells me where he is and he has a couple of stops on the way to me but he'll be there by 12:30. Now I know that where he says he is longer than 30 minutes away WITHOUT any stops. And he has a couple. So he is knowingly LYING. STRIKE FIVE.
He arrives around 2:40. Remember, I'm here since 7:30 and had hoped to get a half day's work in. But NO. Three scheduled appointments in a row, three lost days of work. STRIKE SIX. So he comes in and takes a look. Both electrical panels are blown. But here's the problem. I was only here to fix one of the appliances. So I only have one panel. STRIKE SEVEN. He goes back to his truck and what do you know? I have another panel! The first good thing that has happened in the entire process. Yay! Then he tries to plug in the power cord. Uh-oh. The AC receptacle is fried. Let me go to my truck and get a couple.
He comes in….says….."I don’t have any in my truck." I ask him, is it possible for the electrical panel to get fried without the AC receptacle also getting fried? He says no - the source of the power that fries the electrical panel passes thru and will fry the AC receptacle. So why didn’t they send you with receptacles? Shrug. I don’t know - it’s only like a $40 part STRIKE EIGHT.
He then tells me he spoke to his boss who says, since the appliance was flooded, I’d be better off referring it to my insurance company so they will get me a new one since who knows what other problems may pop up in the future. I say let ME worry about that. I’ve already hit the maximum of the insurance policy payout so all costs, repair, replacement, etc are coming out of my pocket. Although I can understand why your boss wants me to spend another $15,000 on another refrigerator..
I ask him - can you fix this? He says sure. And by the way, your cooling system appears to be completely unaffected. So he calls up and has me scheduled for a return visit for 1/16/25. Then yesterday - Friday, 1/10/25, I get a very weird email from Thermador. It is a bill for the repair efforts to date, even though the work isn’t done yet. STRIKE NINE. But here’s the ultimate kicker. They include a line in this bill for repairs that says that because my appliance was in a flood, they will not repair my appliance! How backwards is that? We won’t repair your appliance because it was in a flood, but here’s a bill for our unfinished efforts to fix your appliance that was involved in a flood. STRIKE 10.
So I call up customer service. Yes the line on the bill is correct. Our policy is to not fix appliances that were flooded. And by the way, you had a service appointment at XYZ address (my billing address) and you were a no show. Which pissed me off to no end. The billing address has a doorman and three concierge on duty. I’d know about it. So, please, don’t dare mention XYZ address again. And why would I have an appointment to fix my flood affected appliance when you say your policy is to not repair flooded appliances? STRIKE 11 and STRIKE 12.
I say I don’t get it. Five service visits have been scheduled for what was known to be an appliance caught in a flood. One on the 16th, two no shows and two where no work and partial work was done. How could it be that so many people don’t know your “policy” about flooded units and spent so much of their time and even more of my time?
If your policy is really policy, it’s a foundational issue. The minute I asked for a service call, I should have been rejected and thst would have been that. Her response was that’s the policy and don’t worry about the appointment on 1/16. I just cancelled it. And I’ll clear the bill. She effectively told me to get lost. STRIKE 13. Escalate me, please.
I speak to a more senior woman. I tell her all of the above. She says, yes, all of this is wrong. It is our policy to NOT repair flooded units. None of what you went through should have happened. I tell her I WANT TO KNOW HOW AND WHY IT HAPPENED. How is it possible that every person I spoke to scheduled me and worked on my unit AGAINST YOUR POLICY. That’s a hell of a coincidence. AND YOU DO understand that had I been told upfront, I would have been able to go in a different direction and the house would have already been habitable already. Yes.
I tell her look, I want the following:
1. Fix my appliance. NOW.
2. If you won’t fix it, here are your choices:
a. Replace it at your own expense in light of the four days work I missed, the delay in making my home habitable and the aggravation factor. NOW
b. Pay me a settlement and I will do it myself.
She says I have to bring this up the line to more senior management. I tell her look…..I’m the victim here. I relied upon you to my detriment. It’s cost me dearly. I’m an attorney. One way or another this is going to be settled to my satisfaction. There was clear negligence and potentially consumer fraud here. I will report you to the Department of Consumer Affairs. So my friends…..this is the ultimate screwing bun consumer products company I’ve ever had or heard of. So many people were involved, that it says something very bad about the company. I will and you should avoid them.

I have a bunch of Thermador products and the one I hate most is the dishwasher. The idiot design team made the most complicated products which unfortunately works only 50% of the time, 75% of the time. I have to restart it all the time by holding down some button for 3 seconds, closing the dishwasher and then turning back on. The 46 page manual is hilarious and I constantly have to look through it to figure out how to 'wash dishes'. I just want to wash my damn dishes without having to figure out which setting is it S7, E1 R3, delayed run 3 hours. It's a complete joke. Meanwhile it has remote access through wifi. I'm simply trying to start the dishwasher standing right next to it.
I complained to their customer service and they acknowledged all my complaints which shows everyone is complaining about the same thing. Conclusion: don't buy any Thermador product if you want simplicity, ease of use and reliability. Do buy the Dishwasher if you want to remote start your dishwasher while safari-ing in Africa with a 3:30 hour delay time on medium, low grade rinse aid pre-wash only. Don't worry, you'll figure out how to set this up after dedicating a mere 6 hours reading the 46 page manual and another 4 hour troubleshooting with a very understanding customer service representative. BTW, there is a reason you can't email them and complain. Their e-mails would be overfilled.

I have had Thermador appliances for 16 years and have been very happy with them. When my microwave quit working of course I wanted to replace it with another Thermador. This has been the worst choice I have made. Whoever designed this does not cook. It takes an inordinate amount of steps to operate it so it is not a quick process to use it and it does not compare to the old one to cook with. Very disappointing. I even got the top of the line thinking it would be a quality appliance. My advice: try it before you buy it!!

The sealed unit in our Thermador wine cooler died before it was three years old. The design included a ground cable that is connected with a steel bolt in the bottom of the cooler, condensation forms on the cooling coils, which wets the bolt, causing it to corrode and puncture the cooling coil, releasing the refrigerant. This happened in Washington state, an area with low humidity. Repairs under warranty been promised, but 4 months later we still have not been completed. Poor design and unacceptable SLOW repair.

We went back to the place we purchased and they have been working with Thermador to exchange the entire unit due to all the problems. Thermador does not feel that is warranted since the oven is 3 years old. We purchased the product due to its reputation as a high end, dependable appliance. I was thrilled that I had saved the money to finally purchase a (quiet) Thermador Sapphire home dishwasher in July 2023. In June 2024, I tried using the "StarDry with zeolite crystals" system. An error code popped up that water was leaking and the dishwasher shut down. Dealing with Thermador/Bosch has been a nightmare. The parts took over 2 months to arrive, then at month 3, Bosch Techs came to put in the new parts I had been sent to fix it. They “discovered” the tub been dented (which we never noticed as the dent was under the insulation) from an outside dent and they refused to fix it. They claimed this damage was the cause for the leaking and the dishwasher had to be replaced. Completely untrue! The previous tech had tracked the leak and showed us the StarDry system leaking so we could all confirm it.
Through three repair visits, none no one noticed this dent. I have no idea when it occurred but I would’ve seen it as I spent hours climbing inside to check seals and pull out filters in trying to eliminate causes for the leak. But it’s still under warranty and once you purchase an appliance, you are told to “refer to the manufacturer with any future issues”. Interestingly, Thermador/Bosch were advertising this “StarDry feature with zeolite rocks in it” everywhere. I recently couldn’t find it mentioned anywhere. I had to comb through my Thermador owner manual.
Stay far away from the Thermador/Bosch brand. When their appliances run perfect, it’s wonderful. Pray you don’t need repairs, parts, or service as they reiterate a “limited warranty”. Mine was covered under a full warranty and is a year old and “replacing” the entire dishwasher presents a new level of complexity a d complications as it sits unused/unfixed for 4 months.
If their appliances are so reputable, why do they have a “limited warranty” anyway? Why don’t they stand behind their products? Why does Bosch (aka Thermador) keep sending me advertisements for a non-limited warranty extension costing $300 for the next two years? They know about the ongoing issues with the StarDry and their dishwashers in general, but forget them sending out a recall (as other brands would do). A recall would tarnish their stellar reputation. Also, every tech that came out didn’t want to fix it. They were all about getting it completely replaced instead, why is that? Do wealthier people just throw theirs away and simply have them replaced because money is not an issue? Stay away from all the overpriced, limited warranty, poorly serviced appliances made by Thermador/Bosch brand!

I purchased a Thermador 36" in gas stove stove in 2019 expecting top-of-the-line performance and durability, but unfortunately, my experience has been nothing short of disappointing. For a product with such a premium price tag, the reliability has been shockingly poor. Within the first year, I encountered multiple issues with the burners not igniting properly and continued ticking when turned off, that trying to light sound after turning off burners off. The repairman they sent out said this was a known issue, I had to pay for all new burner igniters. I had to call for repairs twice during the first 12 months of ownership, and things only got worse from there. The oven Igniter malfunctioned so the oven would not heat up, requiring yet another repair, and this was a costly fix since it wasn't covered by the warranty $409. Part is $115 on their website, repairman was here less than 15 minutes.
Now, just a year and a half I am replacing the oven igniter again. I'm facing another major repair, as one of the burners has stopped working altogether. Given how often I've had to repair this stove, it’s clear that the quality just isn’t there. I expected a high-end appliance to last many years without trouble, but this Thermidor stove has been a constant headache. Even if we change the module in the unit, it will not resolve the issue".
Not sure what they mean about generator cycling power as the generator voltage maintains 120 volts (+/-0.4v) and the frequency is between 59.9 - 60.1 hertz. Since I live in the Houston area where generator power is needed after storms, I would not invest this amount of money in a Thermador refrigerator & freezer again. I purchased Thermador around 8 years ago when I redid my kitchen in Texas. LOVED every appliance. They were beautiful, functional and were the topic of conversation. I recently moved and redid another kitchen. Didn’t think twice about buying more Thermador. These are top-of-the-line appliances. Wow, what a mistake. All the little things I loved about their appliances are gone. They still are nice, but are missing some super nice features.
1) Star Saphire dishwasher. My old dishwasher had a top drawer for just utensils, this is no longer the case. Back to the old basket, waste of space and sorting utensils to put away. Is there an option to buy a drawer for utensils, sadly not. And the little inserts they do provide are either too narrow for some silverware or are faced wrong so utensils are always jumbled when the drawer is opened and closed. Even a well-designed utensil insert would be nice, but not available.
2) Range Top. Nice range that works great however, it used to have a nice blue light by each knob that I could see across the room telling me someone had left the burner on, or had bumped the knob and it wasn’t completely off. Not anymore. They are now replaced with a switch and light that shines down on the knobs. Great I guess if I was cooking in the dark or in low light. Never is turned on.
3) Oven. Used to come with 2 easy glide shelves, now with only one. Nice oven, just would love to have the second easy glide shelf.
4) Microwave. Nice, however, if you are short make sure your cabinet maker lowers the oven/microwave combo as the new models have a pull-down door. This makes it difficult to retrieve hot dishes. And, impossible without a step stool to clean the inside. The new control panel is awkward at best. A digital number touch number pad would have been great, but swiping hours, minutes and seconds is awful. The unit must be turned on with each use and pressed a second time to go to the main menu, even though the manual says it goes to the main menu on the first press. The first press gets the Thermador logo and a tune to announce you are going to use it.
The appliances are beautiful, no doubt. And they look great in my kitchen. However, Thermador is going in the wrong direction in their design. Wish I had my old package back! It was fantastic!

The microwave and wall oven are OK so far, but their complicated digital controls are difficult to navigate, having to go through layers of menu choices and spinning heating and timer settings. Ugh! As an example, it takes 5 button presses to heat 30 seconds, or 6 presses to heat 1 minute in the microwave! What happened to 1 button “express?!” Setting the time takes multiple button press and spin menus to navigate. The iPhone app should provide some convenience but really it’s only about the annoying notifications. Remotely firing up my oven-really?? We bought a brand new Thermador 30-inch freezer in 2018 (along with a kitchen-full of Thermador) in Scottsdale, AZ and it died within the first year. They replaced it free of charge but it was a hassle. Our 2nd freezer is only 5 years old and failed AGAIN. The technician who worked on it last week is the ONLY technician who has worked on it since it was brand new, other than a tech who simply replaced a door seal. The service company keeps sending the same inept guy. This tech is very rough, sloppy and haphazard when he disassembles the freezer for repair and he ALWAYS breaks or damages something on the freezer every time he works on it, which, unfortunately has been numerous times for a fairly new freezer (this is the 3rd problem within 5 years).
Last week he said that he had to order parts which would take over a week and the freezer is dead until the parts come in and he can make the time to come back. And, btw, he also had to order some new brackets that he broke, and stated "they're just plastic". When I said that the freezer seems to be undependable, he smugly replied "that's the way it is when you own a house", and implying that Thermador freezers break the same as cheap ones. So to avoid losing $500 worth of frozen food, we went out and bought a $400 chest freezer because our $7000 Thermador keeps breaking!! So with the freezer empty and thawed-out pending parts, and being a retired Electronic Technician myself, I decided to take a look at it to see if anything else was broken by the tech.
The first thing I noticed was that the top cover inside was held on by 3 white Phillips screws and 1 chrome torx head, so it took 2 different screwdrivers to get it off. I guess he lost a white one and substituted whatever he had in his bag at some point. Who cares that its not the right one, right? Strike one for attention to detail. Under the cover, the Styrofoam insulating cover was broken in numerous places and had a big chunk missing. Apparently broken while trying to get it off. But nobody sees that anyway, right? Strike 2. I noticed the fins on the upper condenser had a lot of cosmetic damage and were severely bent and twisted. Strike 3.
If this guy apparently doesn't think that Thermador is a quality appliance that deserves to be handled with care, why should I, or anyone else believe that Thermador is worth the high price? That's the impression that this tech gives off. We have a kitchen-full of Thermador appliances and he will NOT be working on any of them again. I've taken photos of the damage that he caused and I expect Thermador to fix everything that he damaged. I called an appliance store to get a price on just replacing the freezer with a Sub-Zero to avoid the hassle but they have a 5 month wait time.

Stay away from Thermador! The ranges are attractive, but they do not age well. First, the range oven was painfully slow to heat, sometimes over 30 to 40 minutes to reach the desired baking temperature. Second, too many problems began to surface within just a few years: For example, the broiler went out and the Thermador service people could never find the problem (poorly trained staff).
Third, the oven and range experienced a myriad of other problems and Thermador simply couldn't service as the parts were no longer manufactured (note: quality ranges have a 15 year expected life expectancy, which means Bosch or Thermador is remiss in not supplying parts to older ranges). We had to search the Internet to find whatever parts we could as Thermador cannot be bothered to source.
Fourth, as I alluded earlier, the Thermador technicians are INEPT AND INCOMPETENT! At best they cannot fix a problem, at worst THEY BROKE THE RANGE! The last technician came over to fix the oven and broke the oven door. I was watching him, and he tried claiming it wasn't his fault somehow. Don't buy Thermador. You'll regret it. I have had to have my range serviced 3 times, and now the motherboard is not working. I have had the microwave serviced twice. The dishwasher is temperamental and if you don’t close the door just right, it doesn’t start. I had to have the freezer repaired.
Looking at many of the other reviews, I see that other people have had similar experiences. I got an extended warranty on the range, and paid extra to have this warranty extended, but now my range isn’t working and Thermador won’t cover the cost of repair since the problem “occurred” in the window between my original warranty and the start of the new one. I have interacted with some pretty normal and decent people at the company. But the overall quality and management has been disappointing. I can understand one lemon, but 4 out of my six appliances having problems is crazy. And now this – to refuse to cover repair under the extra warranty that I had to buy because of the poor quality of the products.
I feel badly that I got upset with the agent that told me my repair would not be covered – they are just soldiers – it is the upper level execs that create the poor product and decide not to stand behind it. The estimated repair cost is over 1200 dollars, which is almost twice as much as what you would pay for oven ranges from other companies brand new. I am not sure how you can be ok with charging so much for appliances then not standing behind your products. If you are paying premium for a luxury item, you expect things to not be a headache. I regret not paying extra for the subzero/wolf or even just compromising and not getting a built in kitchen so I could have reliable products that function properly.

I’ve renovated my kitchen in 2014 and selected Thermador products for my brand new kitchen. 9 years later, dishwasher cannot be repaired, double oven not working and cooking glass broke. Big deception as I expected that they would last way longer, this is ridiculous. Motherboard of the oven was replaced initially under the warranty just after 2-3 years, but the lights and self-cleaning stopped working just after the warranty expired. Products looks good, but quality isn’t there for the price you have to pay. Completely ridiculous.

I ordered parts for my Thermador range. The website said they were in stock. After 10 days and it still hasn't shipped, they refuse to cancel my order. They have no idea when it will ship, or why it hasn't shipped. That depends on who I talk to on the phone. Ha, and try getting them on the phone, which "Chat" tells me is the only way to cancel an order. First wait 45 minutes, then get the option to get a call back, but the phone system doesn't connect. Then wait another 30 minutes, only to be told that they can't cancel the order until after it ships which, of course, it may never ship. These folks are horrible.

I bought all Thermador products including NEW dishwasher, oven, and refrigerator. The refrigerator had to be replaced within the first 3 months we had the product for malfunctions. The oven we purchased was great until about 2 years after installation and has been a major headache ever since. Service spent more than 10 hours over 3 days between Thanksgiving '22 and Christmas Eve '22 at our house trying to determine why it consistently tripped the breaker. We could not get the oven to work. Service team finally got it working after Christmas '22 -- temporarily.
In the Spring of '23 started to have issues again, and working through many many calls and conversations with support, there was never responsibility for the faulty product. Independent service team felt we just got a lemon, however Thermador would not take responsibility. They replaced motherboards as a last ditch effort, however that was not the cause.
We have now gone several months without an oven. The hours and hours spent on the phone with support - and of course, having to restart conversations and tickets each and every time was beyond frustrating. Thankful we have the air fryer to manage. We are now forced to purchase another oven, as Thermador is not standing behind their product. Word to the wise...buy whatever extended warranty you can as we purchased 3 products, and 2 were faulty. Really frustrating as we invested in what we thought was an excellent brand.

I bought this oven in June of 2020 for almost $10,000 and have had nothing but trouble with it. Luckily I bought an extended warranty for an extra $1,400. It was good for about a year and then the trouble started. The oven would shut off and if we did not notice that the oven had shut off, thanksgiving dinner would have been ruined. That was bad enough but since then the oven would shut off completely and had to be reset. Lately it blows the dedicated 220 circut breaker just as it reaches preheat settings. We have had 5 service calls in the last year and are scheduled for another one on Tuesday.
All the circuit boards and the fan and door switch have been replaced and now they are going to replace the wiring harness the motherboard again, and the baking element. The oven has blown the beaker the last 2 days in a row and the oven burns anything near the back right corner of the oven. We have had thermador ovens for decades and never had any problems, but this is the last straw. If it does not work after this repair I want a replacement or my money back. VERY DISAPPOINTED.

Just purchased my third Thermador range. Had no problem with the first 2. On the new range it has a dial to set temperature from 150 degrees to 475 degrees. When I set the dial to 400 degrees the griddle only gets to about 300 degrees. I had a Thermador repairman look at the issue and he told me the dial setting doesn’t have anything to do with the griddle temperture. The dial sets the temperature of the heat sensor located in the back of the griddle. It has nothing to do with the griddle temperture. I tried to explain to him I don’t cook on the sensor, I cook on the griddle. He said the sensor temp was in spec and didn’t care what the griddle temp was. This seems like a faulty product that appears to be false advertising. I’M DONE WITH THERMADOR AND THEIR SERVICE.

They've gone south completely. They don't honor their promise to provide an extended warranty to make amends for my legitimate horror story.
In addition, I hate that grease goes in between the window panes and you can't clean it. Fans remain on forever after you turn off. Of course, cleaning it the first time is what tripped the oven to not be able to heat whatsoever. Just don't do this to yourself. They claim they have no history of my grievances (What? When the star cover of the range is left imperceptibly displaced, flames shoot out the sides causing potential fire/burn risk to adjacent objects or even cabinetry. When the cover is noticeably dislodged the flame won't light at all but rather just click. This happened with my range and the cabinet was significantly burned and might have set off a disastrous fire had the stove not been immediately turned off.
When I brought this to the attention of the company, they falsely claimed the cabinet was too close to the range although it replaced a previous range that was placed in the same location and was installed by a factory authorized dealer. They blamed the problem on user error and disavowed any manufacturers liability or fault. Be aware of this potential hazard and notify me if you have encountered a similar problem.

After requesting the parts department transfer me to someone I can speak with for product support they hung up on me. I called back and the customer support person transferred me back to the parts department before I could even finish my sentence. At some point I was transferred to a random lovely lady in some unrelated department who wanted to help, but of course couldn't. So we built a new house in 2017 and decided to go with a suite of Thermador appliances for the Kitchen. We bought the 48 inch gas oven range, the 48 inch side by side fridge/freezer combo and the dishwasher. In total we must have spent close to $30,000 on all of the appliances. I don't know about you, but I always assumed that if you paid top dollar for one of the most expensive products in the market then you could feel confident that you were buying the best quality available. And that means years and years of maintenance free living.
Well, that's not true about Thermador products. First let's focus on the gorgeous oven/range. Seriously, it's probably been in the shop twice a year since the year we bought it. This is true, I have the local technicians' Company and name on speed dial. He, Matt and his assistant Brandi are wonderful people. We know so much about them we could send them Christmas cards. But honestly, who wants to be on a first name basis with their appliance technician? Six months ago we needed a new ignitor/thermostat to turn the oven on. Matt came out and did that. Today, Matt and the Thermador's call center concluded that I needed a new control board. Which could take weeks and thousands of dollars to replace.
I called Theramodor to complain. Sure I was mad. This is our second home. We probably use the oven fewer than 90 days a year. They said I was out of warranty, sorry we can't help you (translation "Sucker, you should have bought a Wolf to begin with..."). Then she hung up. That was after the now normal 45 minute IVR wait and escalating routing and a five minute live call.
The dishwasher: it cleans fine. Don't know why it takes 3 hours to wash and dry the dishes, but it does. The problem with the dishwasher, believe it or not, is simply that the racks don't stay on the rails. I kid you not. It sounds like a silly nuance, but it's not. My wife hates the machine because she can not slide the rack in. You literally need to lift it up, jiggle it back and forth while you're shoving it in. Check the wheels and replace them a couple of times a year. It requires a combination of strength and balance. Who build a product that doesn't work? What type of quality control do they have?
The fridge? It scares me. I'm terrified that it's a ticking time bomb with the compressor ready to fail at any time. I can almost hear it laughing at me. If a compressor fails, then you may as well throw the whole $12,000 unit away. The cost of repair it is prohibitive. So far so good with that piece. Yes, as the technician telepathically suggested when she insulted me and hung up: we should have bought Wolf. In fact, we have Wolf in our primary residence. Use them everyday for the past five years....perfect. We don't have a repairman. I don't even know who I would have to call. That what true quality means. This is not a paid advertisement for Wolf. Rather it is an honest review challenging the quality, reliability and greed of the Thermador company.

I have owned my side by side for 12 years. You will discover that while the unit is "under Warranty" for 12 years--they do NOT stock parts after 8 years!! The trick is they will offer you money towards "sliding into a new fridge"--where you will continue to be captive to them. The new unit of what I own now costs $15,000. I made a service appointment THREE WEEKS ago for Monday, October 25, 2021, and was told I couldn't get one sooner because Thermador doesn't have workers.
When I called Friday before to see why they had not told me a time, they said I had cancelled the appointment. (I had not). When I complained, the Thermador rep disconnected me. I had waited 20 minutes for her to answer the call. For their price, I could buy a new GE or Frigidaire every three years, and still not be out $15,000. Let's face it----all we need is something to keep our food cold, right?

Great if they work-HORRIBLE SERVICE IF THEY DON'T. I recently purchased 33k worth of Thermador appliances from Ferguson. I took delivery of the appliances and just had the 12k+ range installed. I am in the middle of my move and eager to be settled. It is defective and I tried calling your service line. After being on hold over 25 minutes Teresa answered the line and was brusque in manner. She informed me that I could wait until September 22 for service. That is quite a distance away, so I asked for an alternative. She said I could call one other authorized service technician in the Los Angeles area that is permitted to service your brand. I am unfamiliar with this process so I asked if it is I that would call, and if your company would be taking care of the payment, and she replied “if you would let me finish I would tell you”. I was merely asking about the process. SO rude. I thought you were meant to be a luxury brand.
Certainly your call center missed the service piece of that experience. I said that I was “trying to get clear about the process and that she needn’t be rude about it- that I was unfamiliar with this process as I had not done it before”. Teresa curtly answered that if I didn’t like her manner that she would turn me over to another agent and before I could protest she promptly hung up on me. I am frankly appalled and I plan on putting this company on blast all over the internet for the lack of service, and ridiculous treatment.
I have an expensive product that is defective, am in the middle of a move, and am merely trying to get something fixed. Now I have to spend additional hours chasing this down while working full time and attending to various other obligations. I would hope to get some assistance. Review is about Thermador Gas Cooktop SGSX365FS. It worked pretty well for less than 6 years. After its one burner stopped to work. It required to open a cooktop lid to change the part. But to open the lid you have to unscrew the gas tubes (they are made from stainless steel), two of them (most used) were stuck. No technician wanted to do such job mentioning that it could damage a lot and as a result, cost a lot. I searched on YouTube, this is a common problem. One minor drawback is not easy cleaning. The new model SGSX365TS (FS was discontinued, but they are really the same) has gas tubes made from brass and screwed in the aluminum base. It's necessary to find out how they behave in similar situation.

As part of a SF Bay Area remodel last year, we were excited to replace all appliances with Thermador top-line products. We spent about $30,000, anticipating a great kitchen experience with their products. Instead, we were utterly disappointed and left wishing that we had picked almost any other appliance brand! The Thermador Convection Oven Microwave MC30WS/01 is a nightmare. Every single time you have to use the microwave you have to endure a 2-second ‘boot-up’ process that flashes “Thermador” accompanied by a loud tinny tune. WHY??
Then it takes 3 steps to select a simple microwave setting to finally get it going. But, if you start the unit and step away to do anything else (which is what you do all the time!) it will hammer you with a loud alert jingle that it is done - not once or twice, but again, and again, and again and again and again and AGAIN… a total of FIFTEEN TIMES! WHY?? And there’s no way to silence this “feature”. For $3,000 all we bought ourselves was a dose of daily aggravation. Similarly the Dishwasher DWHD650WPR/13. Once it completes the wash cycle, it too announces repeatedly - SIX loud beeps which repeat over and over SIX times, even in the dead of night.. and the only way to stop that madness is to go and open the unit’s door!
It makes us wonder if these products are designed to impose upon the user rather than to do their job and sort of disappear in the background? For instance if a user starts the dishwasher at night, does Thermador expect her to stand by until the cycle is complete and they can kill the alerts so that a guest sleeping in an adjacent room doesn’t get disturbed? Or if a user starts the microwave, are they expected to physically stand by so that a string of unending alerts don’t wake up a sleeping baby? It is as if the people who designed the products never used them themselves. Otherwise it is hard to understand how anyone, especially a company like Bosch / Thermador, would let this stuff fly. We’ve never been so disappointed with appliances in all our lives, certainly not ones that are so expensive.

When we remodeled our kitchen a few years ago, we purchased all new appliances from the Thermador/Bosch... We have really enjoyed the big fridge, the oven and microwave...the dishwasher has typical Bosch problems, including a sticking soap dispenser door and fast build up of clogging in the arms...but, it's really quiet and great when it's working properly. The glass cooktop blew its control module, and took some time and expense to have Thermador fix it... They brought the wrong replacement unit first, and only got the right one when we pointed out their errors and pointed them to the correct unit... It cost about half the price of the unit to fix...so, not so good on repairs. Overall, the appliances are lovely, quite pricey, and not nearly so reliable as one would like.

My fear is that the company is collecting all this money and not delivering the goods with the idea that they will just go out of business and screw everybody out of their prepaid orders. Repair Issue #3 – 1/12/21 through 1/26/21• Complete failure of internal electronic components.

• Top griddle warped and had to be replaced.
Repair Issue#4 - 3/9/21• Warming drawer display module failed. Still not repaired.
Repair Issue #5 – 4/15/21• Rear fans making growling noise. Still not addressed.
All warranty work to date has been conducted by Huff Appliance, 1314 Woodland Street, Nashville, TN 37206. Phone (615) 226-2080. On 4/15/21 Huff Appliance stated, “This unit has so many issues that in my opinion this unit is unrepairable.” On 4/26/21 Thermador requested additional information of Huff Appliance on all issues to decide on if they will replace the unit. This process has grown increasingly frustrating, given Thermador has a detailed service record of the repairs which they (Thermador) authorized to date. Our warranty (2 years) has now officially expired, and it appears Thermador is attempting to wash their hands of this issue.
We purchased this appliance for daily use and entertaining. Parts have taken weeks and months to arrive. During much of our ownership over two years it has been non-operational (and still is). We understand that given COVID, parts may take longer. Given this was a new unit we should have not been put in this situation. We have zero confidence this unit will not break down again due to its performance history. My wife had double hip replacement surgery 10 days ago and Thermador called this morning telling us they want to send another service agent to our home. Unfortunately we are at a point where we will need to get attorneys involved. Avoid this company at all costs, their customer service is terrible.

We confirmed with Thermador yesterday that he was coming as these items are in our beach house so we aren't always there and need to coordinate to make sure we are there. The repairman called us this morning and said, "I don't know why they scheduled me today. I only go to your town on Tuesdays and Thursdays." Leaking Brand New Thermador 36-Inch Built-In Refrigerator (KI KBM36US). Model Number: T361B900SP/09. FD: 9812. Serial Number: 100481. We moved into a new condominium in September 2020 with brand new high-end Thermador appliances which we paid a high premium for. We adored the brand and its sleek design. Unfortunately, the Thermador refrigerator has been nothing but a nightmare for us.
January 2021: It stopped cooling and became warm inside after barely 4 months of use. Feb 2, 2021: We created a ticket with our building management and the breaker was reset. Feb 9, 2021: The refrigerator was still not cooling so a service call was placed with Thermador. We were told that they are not on-site so we have to wait for an ETA but no one followed up. Feb 16, 2021: An urgent service call to Thermador. Feb 24, 2021: We were informed that a Thermador technician won’t be able to come until March 11 since they were so backed up. March 18, 2021: A Thermador technician finally came. He replaced the inverter board then quickly fled by saying “it’s fixed but takes a few hours to lower the temperature....” He never returned for follow up.
April 2021: It is still not cooling. May 5, 2021: Second Thermador technician came and we were told that a new compressor is needed after he inspected the unit. We have to wait for the replacement part to arrive before they return. May 17, 2021: Third Thermador technician came back with a new compressor but he noticed a complete leak of refrigerant, which he determined to be the culprit (which probably makes sense since this refrigerator never worked in 2021 despite having reset and changed parts). We were told that we will likely be without a refrigerator for three months and repairing the fridge would take even longer till September. The technician did put in a request that the refrigerator be replaced as the leak is apparently in a difficult area to try to fix so no guarantee of functionality even after the repair in September.
Both I and my wife have complex medical conditions requiring a modified diet but without a functional refrigerator for the last five months, we have largely relied on take-out three meals daily. As a result, our blood pressure and blood sugar have been significantly elevated during our last medical check-up. I am also on injectable insulin requiring refrigeration. I have relied on a small old refrigerator I borrowed since the Thermador malfunctioned in January and I am so worried that it will fail and ruin all my medications. We understand the delay related to the pandemic and we have been more than patient through the long daunting process. However, the service from Thermador has been completely incompetent and neglective, resulting in much hardship for our daily life, medical and mental health. It is absolutely unacceptable at this point and we request Thermador to replace the refrigerator as soon as possible!

I purchased a suite of Thermador appliances for my kitchen 6 years ago. You get a better deal when you buy an entire brand. Even though I knew every brand has its strengths and weaknesses I gave into the salesman’s pressure and the better pricing. Never again! A rookie mistake. The only appliance from Thermador that has performed well is the dishwasher. The ovens take forever to get to preheat and even when the alarm sounds that it has reached temperature it’s not even close to the set temp. I had to buy a thermometer to put inside the oven to gauge when it was truly at the desired temp.
The fridge door has never closed properly and it leaks on my wood floor. After install Thermador customer service said my concerns were “customer preference” and nothing faulty with the fridge or freezer. The ice maker makes weird ice and it takes forever. Now the entire freezer quit freezing and the repairman suggested I replace it with a Sub Zero. I paid $8k for this fridge/freezer and my less expensive built in was twice the appliance of this one. Word to the wise....don’t buy a suite. Buy each appliance in the brand that they are known for and have strong reviews. If misery loves company I am not lonely on the topic of Thermador! Never again.

I purchased a blower with a broken internal motor and Thermador is unwilling to address the problem in a logical manner that would reflect what one would expect from a premium brand. As part of a kitchen remodel, I chose a Thermador cooktop and hood insert. Their blower motor was faulty from the moment I first tried to use it to provide ventilation to my stove. This is mandatory functionality in my state, so it needs to be addressed.
It took a while to diagnose it because thermador does not have enough techs in the San Francisco area. They finally (after months) diagnosed the problem as a faulty blower motor. I am still covered under the warranty period. The hood insert is inside a decorative hood. The custom hood was created prior to inserting the Thermador hood insert and blower so that the hood is easily removed and replaced, if needed. However, Thermador's techs are not comfortable with anything that is not standard. I was told by Thermador that I would need to hire an installer to remove the blower, so that their tech could then come and replace the blower motor specifically, and then I would need the installer to return in order to re-install the blower. Crazy!
This results in my having to set aside 8-12 hours minimum across three separate days (because of service windows. Thermador alone has a 4-5 hour service window) AND having to pay 3 times what I would need to IF Thermador (a) could have done the whole job themselves OR (b) IF Thermador would have allowed the installer to do an a simple warranty exchange of the entire blower (as opposed to just the internal blower motor mechanism). I am using an installer who is authorized to do Thermador warranty exchanges.
Thermador would rather their customer spend tons of money and time remedying a situation that they could have prevented with proper quality control processes than standing behind their product. I would expect much more from a premium brand. To me, this is not premium and I would recommend that others spend those premium dollars on true premium brands, such as Miele.

The vent hood motor, installed in 2017, has been replaced twice—one under warranty and one we just bought last week (11/2020) for $400++.
The refrigerator replacement parts are drawer rollers, freezer drawer latch (not warrantied), and icemaker sensor was replaced under warranty. The double drawer refrigerator/freezer ice maker was not working when delivered in September of 2019, replaced under warranty. Currently, the dishwasher has a high pitch sound when you start it and only runs on the auto setting. All other wash settings do not run. Due to COVID, income loss, and out of warranty, we haven't addressed this issue. Vent hood labels have all worn off, and if liquid splatters on the stovetop while cooking, mostly burn on the surface. I am an avid cook and baker and also teach cooking classes in my home kitchen. I was so excited to install these gorgeous appliances into my kitchen even though it was a huge sacrifice for our budget. We bought the 4 burner with electric griddle cooktop, the built-in fridge and freezer, the double ovens, dishwasher and range hood. Our kitchen is gorgeous but that’s where the excitement stops.
We have had multiple repairman to our house to try and fix our appliances with no results. Our burners on the cooktop don’t get very hot so it takes over 20 minutes to boil a pot of water. I can not can or even sear meat on on my stovetop which is a huge letdown. I have had two repairman and the gas company all out to look at it and they are perplexed and say there is nothing wrong with the installation or the gas line, that’s just how the stove cooks.
Meanwhile our crazy expensive freezer has stopped producing ice and water and is leaking from somewhere and completely ruining our hardwood floors we installed during our remodel. They are built-in so you can’t just pull them out and find the problem, you have to wait for a professional. I live near a big city and there are only 2 repair places in our area. We have been waiting for over a month and the problem is still not fixed. The part is on backorder so meanwhile, our floor continues to warp and is now sleeping into our cabinetry. Please spare yourself the frustration and disappointment and look elsewhere for your professional appliances.

We remodeled our kitchen and chose a Thermador stove. Four gas burners, an electric griddle in the middle and the oven. From the start there was a terrible odor like wires burning. The griddle never worked well. A couple months later nothing works except the gas burners!! Have had 5 visits from the appliance repair company in our area and 2 parts replaced, actually 3 as the first one didn't work. Very Very Very slow responses to our problem from this company. Wish we would have purchased a Wolf. It's almost time for snow in MN and the grill outside will not be as convenient. DO NOT PURCHASE THERMADOR, my opinion!

Updated on 11/03/2020: We bought a package of appliances for our home and because of past experience (20 years ago) with Thermador we decided to go that route again. It was a huge mistake as Thermador quality and customer service are far different now. We paid about $13,000 for the range and it has not worked since being installed. Had a service appointment scheduled which was three weeks out. When the date came no one showed up and they conveniently said they showed no appointment in their records. This caused another 3 week delay.
Guy finally showed up today and once again he said he had to order parts and will schedule an appointment to install the parts. We are now at 2 months without an operating range. I strongly recommend anyone looking at Thermador, Subzero or any of their products to rethink it. These people are difficult to deal with, have next to no customer support and they could care less about their company's failure to take care of its customers.
Original Review: We remodeled our home and used Thermador products. We originally had a Thermador range we build home the home 22 years ago. That range was pretty problem free. We bought the same type of model as well as a subzero refrigerator and other appliances. We just moved back into our home and tried to use the ovens. They failed and are not working. Called Thermador and they said it will take 3 weeks to get anyone out. No sense of urgency and next to zero in support. I would never use their products again and will certainly never recommend them. To expect someone to wait 3 weeks is insane.

We were instructed to make full payment for everything in July to ensure we get all our appliances in time for installation by end August. We are still waiting for our oven and microwave which we are told is on backorder for end October. They blame it on Thermador slow production. Why take our money if they can’t deliver? Calling Thermador to complain is the most horrific experience to go through. They keep you on hold for more than an hour and then cut you off. Twice!!! We have made a terrible mistake going with this brand, I can just imagine how their after sales experience is going to be if this is still pre-installation?!

I installed a 5 burner Thermador luxury optioned gas cooktop around 24 months ago. After repeated expensive repairs, scary operating issues and very poor customer support as so many here already reported, this cooktop was slightly modified and plopped into our outdoor poolside entertaining area. At least it couldn't burn anything serious down to the ground out there. Like our house..
The burner ignition problems started after a few months. Followed all the advice in the manuals and from Thermadope call center zombies; tried to arrange service calls, different techs came out several times over the ensuing months and replaced ignition modules and other parts. The appliance just kept failing to operate. After enough frustration, I bought a cheap Chinese gas cooktop that had great reviews and swapped the Thermador clunker out. No problems with cheapo cooktop at all. Ever.
Before I chucked the Thermador luxury boat-anchor into the recyling bin, I thought, what the hell, I’ll try to repurpose it. First thing I did was measure the temperature inside the cooktop while a couple of burners were on for about 20 minutes. Incredibly, it was running over 150°C inside where the electronics were located! Even if Thermador used high-temperature military or space grade components, it was still WAY too hot for any electronics to survive in there very long in those conditions. I waved goodbye to any hope of salvaging a normal operating cooktop with a Frankenstein electronics transplant. So, I removed all the cooktop electronics and wiring in a few minutes with some wirecutters, plopped it into the old cooktop opening place by our pool and now use a dollar-store butane igniter to fire up my castrated ‘luxury’ Thermador cooktop. Having it by my pool makes me look a lot richer than I am! ????

Bought the hood for 6 years, had to replace control panel parts twice due to oil damaging it. It was due to the fact the control panel is not sealed resulting the smoke to enter the panel and cause damage. Thermador contest it is not a flaw and ask me to clean it more often. I clean my unit monthly, and asked to see how I can clean the panel so this will not happen. They said there is no way but not their fault. The panel lets in smoke and gets damaged. We purchased a $700 MCES 2 Thermador Convection Microwave along with the $300 trim kit from Friedman's in Knoxville TN. It was installed in September 2018. In June 2020 the microwave stopped working. - magnetron failure. Thermador's online literature shows the MCES has a two year warranty from date of installation. I called Friedman's service department and was given the runaround. Lady claimed it was only one year warranty and I should just buy a new microwave since a magnetron was $600.
I then called Thermador direct. Originally, Thermador rep said yes it was a two year warranty further explaining that Bosch brand has a one year and sometimes people confuse them. However, days later he emailed to say that no, he was wrong and it was only one year. He told me that the "Use and Care Manual" that comes inside the packaging shows only a one year warranty. I forwarded copies of the online warranty literature to Friedman's and Thermador showing the product is advertised as having a two year warranty. Thermador reluctantly claims they will now replace the magnetron. We shall keep our fingers crossed!

While I love my Thermador gas cooktop and the hood’s suction, the electrical panels fail every 3-6 months. We purchased our appliances end of 2016 through Yale, and thank goodness, the extended warranty package. When it fails, the hood fan switches on randomly, goes through various speeds like a ghost, then turns itself off, then beeps forever, and then the fan dies altogether. Yale replaced the electrical unit ever time. After 18 months, the blower motor failed. That was a big deal because it’s mounted on the roof, and my husband had to climb on the roof to replace the motor. It’s 6 months since we replaced the hood’s electrical panel. Guess what? Like clockwork. It failed.

I spent THOUSANDS on what I'd expect to be high end appliances which included a column fridge/freezer/wine cooler, ovens, range and range hood. From day one when the installer came to install, parts were missing, for the freezer, the range hood had parts that were not correctly fabricated, the fridge had broken trays as well as a faulty motor which operates the push door for opening and closing. Contacted CS to explain and have them resolve. They sent a Tech out to verify the issues. He said the parts would to be ordered. This was in May and now we are in June and I still do not have these resolved.
In my first follow up call, I was told the parts had arrived and I should be receiving a call from the Tech to schedule an appointment. A week late, no call so I called CS again and asked to speak to a Supervisor. I was told the part never came and he didn't know why I was told it had. He then proceeded to tell me the part is still on order and it may take another few weeks. In the meantime, one of the parts (fridge tray) had been in the Tech's possession way back in June. I proceeded to ask if the Tech could come and install the tray but was told that it would cost Thermador an "unnecessary" expense and they would send the Tech out once the other parts are received. He made no attempts to accommodate nor had sympathy.
Considering all the crap that I have experienced, and patiently, I expected far more service and accommodation than was given. I purchased high-end appliances at a high cost expecting top-rated service, but it has not been anywhere near that. It's one thing to have bad products but to have horrific service too!!! From the reviews I've read on this site, it appears I'm not alone.

We paid a little over $25K for Thermador appliances and have had this equipment for almost three years. Our experience has been very poor. Given the price point, the equipment is unbelievably terrible. i.e. Our GE Profile appliances in our prior house had ZERO issues in 5 years and the equipment was 4 years old when we moved it. Thermador's customer support is difficult to reach. They're techs act like their is not a larger issue at hand even after you've called them 5 - 7 times over the same issue.
1. Double Oven (digital version): The double oven is either too hot or too cold (we've called Thermador 5 - 7 times and every time they come out their techs say 'Our ovens are within tolerance if they are 25 degrees over or under the set temperature'! Literally, the $400 Magic Chef oven/stove top that I grew up with had a more accurate and consistent oven temperature than the Thermador.
2. Stove top and Fridge: These haven't been so bad. The stove top had some issues with flames not burning even, which was resolved with new hardware. The fridge hinge wore into the plastic which was super annoying.
3. Dishwasher: Three years into use, this dishwasher stopped working. We've spend $500 in repairs and the non-Thermador tech said that Thermador appliances are known to have maintenance issues. Dishwasher will not run. First the pump stopped working, but it turned out there was a wire loose. Now we need a new electronic panel--I'm throwing this thing out and buying a Miele or Asko.
4. Customer Service: No joke there are times that I've waited for 30 - 50 minutes to reach customer support. Thermador techs tend to be arrogant and believe their equipment is 'the best' (which wouldn't be a big deal if Thermador's appliances backed up it).
I would not recommend Thermador--you'd be better off buyings anything/something cheap from Lowes or Home Depot.

The 1st pkg was good. The 2nd pkg had issues w/ the range. Spark units were intermittently working. Repaired, worked fine. Dishwasher recalled electrical shocks or leaks. Don't remember. Microwave/dishwasher made by Bosch worked well.
Now 3rd pkg. Fridge auto door assist mostly doesn't work. Replaced parts-still doesn't work. Gave up. The range is THE WORST! I've had 12 repair calls.. 4 of 6 burners are blasting like blow torches since day 1. They're super loud. The repairman said tech support told him "It's supposed to be like that." I appealed because my last one didn't do that. Thermador told me to convince "the boss" to help even tho she agreed that there's something wrong with it. This is ridiculous! I recently purchased a Thermador dishwasher to replace my previous Thermador dishwasher that I had owned for approx 15 years. My previous dishwasher was a 48 decibel and extremely quiet. If standing next to it I could not hear it, in order to hear it I had to put my ear right next to it. This new dishwasher is very loud. It says it is a 48 Decibels, but it is so loud I can hear it in the next room. I am so disappointed in my new dishwasher. When I talk to the rep who sold me the dishwasher he said that I should not be able to hear it and that I should call Thermador and that they would take care of any issues I had.
I called and they sent out a technician. The Tech "YES" indeed that is loud and not normal. He said that he was going to check with the company because it sounded like they did not insulate it or built correctly. He called me back a few days later to say that there was nothing he could do to my dishwasher and I should call customer service. I called customer service and they were NO help. I did everything that they asked. I uploaded a video with my invoice. They said I would be contacted. I was never contacted, I had to contact them several times.
Finally one customer service rep said that they would replace my dishwasher and that I would hear back from them in 24 to 48 hours. They never called me back, after a week of waiting I called them, only for them to tell me that they were still working on it and they would call me back. Customer support has been giving me the run around since April 27th.
The sad part about this is that the reason I bought thermador is because 15 years ago when I remodel my kitchen I purchased a matching set, 48" professional range, Hood and dishwasher to match. This is why I stuck with the same brand. But now I say buyers beware of this awful customer service. They will not be helping me with my dishwasher. Instead all they did was just extended my warranty. How is that going to help my loud dishwasher? I will not buy Thermador again and in the next couple of years when I upgrade my range and hood it will not be Thermador! They just lost a $20,000 sale!! I will for sure be returning this LOUD dishwasher!

We have a broken Wall unit (combo of microwave+oven+hot drawer) that is ~2.5 years old. We got the unit from Karl's Appliances in Fairfield NJ and Wendy ** was the sales rep. We have had number of issues with several appliances that we ordered from Thermador. First, the double drawer fridge stopped working in 1.5 years or less and had to be completely replaced. Then, the second most expensive appliance of wall unit (combo of microwave+oven+hot drawer) developed a problem just a few months past 2 years of purchase. The microwave stopped working and started giving errors.
We didn’t expect this kind of quality of appliances from Thermador. Thermador provides warranty for 2 years and having the appliances fail just a little more than 2 years makes their quality inferior compared to the other brands out there. We used Thermador website to call George appliances and the person they send had no clue about the error nor how to even handle the trim of the microwave. We ended up paying the service call but with nothing in return. On top of that, we got quoted by George’s appliance for $1000 just to fix the microwave. This is a complete rip off by Thermador and their registered appliance repair shops. Thermador quality of appliances has been suspect in the last few years that we have used their appliances and even after buying expensive products, their products fail just as soon as the warranty expire. I wouldn’t recommend buying from Thermador or Karl's appliances and definitely not calling George appliances.

Then we decided to have a winter home and they offer me an appliance package from Thermador that it was hard to pass. What a mistake! I think either Thermador make a incentive package out of the defected products or their quality has deteriorated so much that it has been a nightmare.

They came and said unit was faulty and to send in the recommendation to replace under warranty. That process took 3 weeks for them to finally approve. Then it took another 4 weeks for them to find a replacement.
Once replacement found it took another 2 weeks to ship. Once arrived it was damaged as if a boulder was dropped on it. This was a month ago and I still do not have a microwave and they still have not located a replacement to send me. Mind you, no one followed up with one call as they told me every time they would do once it was put into a new status. I have called them no less than 20 times to follow up. We purchased a high end Thermador Dishwasher 3 years and 10 months ago. We had a Whirlpool dishwasher that lasted about 12 years, which we replaced with a nice KitchenAid that lasted about 7 years. We purchased a Thermador Stainless Steel Dishwasher because we were told it was a much higher quality machine than the Whirlpool or KitchenAid and it would outlast them all. It lasted only 3 years and 10 months before the heating coil quit working last week. Now it only washes with cold water and grease or butter stays on the silverware and plates.
I called our local repair service and they said to contact Thermador because many companies will go ahead and cover repairs within a couple years of the warranty expiration. I called Thermador and they will not cover the repair diagnostic visit nor the parts if it is the heat coil, which is what the error code says that it is. I asked the representative to ask the supervisor again and he said we would have to pay for the first repair visit and he may "consider" covering 50% of the part ($54) only. I was shocked that the Thermador quit working only after 3 years 10 months of light use by only 2 people (1/3 of the time of the Whirlpool that had heavier use at that time) and then that Thermador wouldn't cover the complete repair even when asked nicely twice. They even had him replace the water bottle because the original design was faulty, but it still leaks. After using the unit about 20 minutes, water leaks out the bottom of the oven and drips onto the control panel of the warming drawer, which then shorts out. They have had to replace the control panel on the warming drawer twice. I called Thermador again to get the unit replaced. I had to send my original sales receipt (even though they already have it because I registered the product right after it was installed) and technician invoices from the repairs (even though the repair technician calls them every time to get their help to resolve the problem).
After a couple of days, I get an email back saying they have made a decision, but they cannot relay the results of their decision via phone or email, so I call customer service and have to wait in the regular queue...after finally getting someone, I am told there is nothing in the file. I read her the email that was sent, she put me on hold again for probably at least 5 minutes and came back saying they made a decision that the unit works properly; even after I submitted the diagnosis from the repair tech showing that the unit is not working.
The technician was out again today and took pictures and sent them to Thermador to hopefully get this unit replaced. After spending 28 minutes on the phone, I learned that they were not going to honor their warranty based on my request and now that the technician sent them pictures, it was being escalated to management for a review. They gave me a number to a company that had closed their doors. It took several calls before I could find another repair dealer that was actually open. Repairs became constant.
Microwave: Interlock switch replace, adjusted, again and again. It now blows my fuse. Freezer/Fridge: Freezer went out losing all food. Double oven: Replaced element and control panel and had to have it calibrated. Downdraft Vent Hood: Replaced motor (cost more than it is worth). Dishwasher: Grinding and error codes, leak, replaced sump.
Some of these problems occurred over and over, costing us an amazing sum because Thermador only stands behind their products for two years. They claimed I only had called them for the microwave; but I registered all my products with them and called them multiple times, as did the repair dealer. They will do nothing to help make it right. Also, the company I bought them from, Orson Gygi in Utah, will not do anything either. They just feel sorry for you...tough luck. Don’t pay for expensive ‘dream’ kitchen appliances. We bought a kitchen full of Thermador products back in 1999. After a few years we started having issues and needed replacement parts. Guess what this company does? They don’t offer them after 7 years so you are out of luck. They want you to buy new apparently. So when you reach out to customer service to inquire about buying new you get no service. I am now in the market for a new cooktop and contacted them and even spoke with a supervisor. You would think I would have learned my lesson by now. They do not deserve my repeat business. Not worth the price tag since after a few years you can’t repair your over priced appliance. Even my repair guy says not to buy from them despite the fact that I have a kitchen full of their products.

The following information is based on MY observations pertaining to the new Thermador kitchen appliance product line (range, microwave, oven and dishwasher) that we purchased in March 2019 and had installed in our home in May 2019. The six burner range with a grill is beautiful and works as designed to work. The microwave has a timer function that you cannot use because the panel light times out thereby cancelling the timer you set for cooking needs (I’m told this is a design function that cannot be changed due to energy-savings guidelines). You have to press six (6) button options before it’s set and starts to warm up a cup of water or other warming/heating needs. There is no distinction in the sound coming out of it whether set at the lowest (1) or the highest (5). The volume control, while set at its lowest setting (1), is so very loud and can be heard throughout the entire house (I’m told this is a design function that cannot be changed).
The oven works as designed to work, however, the volume control is similar to the microwave except in REVERSE; the sound is barely audible while set at the highest setting (5) which means you must remain in the kitchen to hear the timer go off indicating your food is ready to be checked and come out of the oven (I’m told that they’re working on a design fix due to consumer feedback and it could take several months to correct). The dishwasher manual encourages you NOT to rinse your dishes but to scrape the food off and allow the sensor to regulate the cleaning mode.
Since it uses a condensation heat mode to dry your dishes it never seems to completely cool down and dry out inside the unit so the remaining food on the plate starts to decay and smell foul when you open the door. I had to purchase an old fashioned timer to set on the kitchen counter for cooking timing purposes, and warming up a midnight snack or a cup of water for tea in the morning are a thing of the past unless I want to wake everyone in the house up.

Our $12,000 Thermador refrigerator/freezer had a major failure 4 years after being put in service. Spent more than 5 weeks and many hours going back and forth with Thermador's inept customer service people only to find that they declined our request for covering the labor portion of the repairs. Treated very badly by the company. Stay away. Overpriced and poor support.

We recently purchased a Thermador oven and paid over $10k for it. It has been cooking very unevenly - undercooked on one side, burnt on the other. The burners also function unevenly. The process of getting it serviced has been a nightmare. Thermador, through Bosch, has been unresponsive, inflexible, and unwilling to resolve quickly. We've had three service calls and the oven has gotten worse. Charles ** is our rep at Bosch and had been ineffective, and Ferguson appliances in Dallas was the showroom and has been unresponsive. Terrible, I would never recommend this to anyone.

Bought 6 Thermador appliances 2012 for 20,000$ dollars. Family of 2 retired persons. We had one service on the dishwasher after 2 years. Just called for repair on the fan end the oven. They are asking 800$/parts and 500$/labor for a total of 1300$ +taxes. Find it outrageous, unreliable appliances. Given that we are good clients, we proposed they offer the parts for free we will pay the labor. After 2 calls, they asked for a written request which we did. After waiting 3 weeks for an answer, we called back to be told that the decision had been given the following week, but they are too busy to call their clients back. CONCLUSION: UNRELIABLE APPLIANCES / EXECRABLE SERVICE. CHOOSE SOMETHING ELSE.

The Thermador dishwasher was installed in the summer of 2012 (7 years ago). I have had to replace the computer as the lighting wasn't working (within 2 years). Shortly after replacing the same problem re-occurred. Now the dishwasher does not turn off and it runs and runs with no water. Thermador stated that I should get it serviced - no concern whatsoever that this product was costly to purchase and costly to repair. Thermador DWHD630IFM. No more products from Thermador.

I Purchased Thermador Appliances for my Kitchen (Microwave, Refrigerator, Stove, Oven, Dishwasher) for a second home that I live in two times a year for a short period of time. Microwave died, repairing it would cost over $600. No option to replace it because it is discontinued and no other microwave will fit the built in space in my kitchen. Customer services pretty much gave me the only option of remodeling my kitchen as a solution, or to spend another $1000 in the same old microwave purchased from a distributor that still has it on stock.
I asked if they were really advising me to purchase a microwave they obviously discontinued because it was defective....they said yes! Grace, the manager I spoke with was absolutely the worst employer at Thermador. She hang up on me. Barret a customer service representative was nice initially but after speaking to his supervisor (Grace) came back to me lying and telling me I had no alternatives but to remodel. Barret I feel for you for having a boss like that.
Aside from the microwave, the dishwasher door also broke.... The parts I ordered to fix it don't match my old parts. I contacted Thermador for this as well and again....no solution. They don't know what is going on and nothing they can do. I do advice to stay away from this company. Your appliances will break with very very little use and they will wash their hands. Sadly Thermador is the same as Bosch. I should have spend a bit more money and stick to WOLF. My main home appliances have lasted for years. No issues.

I purchased a top of the line Thermador microwave, oven and warming drawer at the end of January 2019. The microwave did not work from installation. The repair man couldn't fix it after 2 months of working with him and Thermador. In the meantime, the repair man reinstalled the oven door poorly and it does not completely close. The warming drawer also does not heat evenly. After 2 plus months working with Thermador management, which never responds or finds resolution, and their certified repair companies, I am still without a microwave, oven and warming drawer that work properly.
I have asked for my money back and they insist that I continually waste my time on the phone and at home waiting for someone to figure out how to repair the problem. I have a full time job and cannot spend endless days on trial and error. The management does not reach out to me with a better solution. I have to chase them. Each time there is a new person/manager with no follow up. When you pay that much money for quality, you would expect top notch products and customer service. Stay away from Thermador. You can find much better for a lesser price and better quality.

We purchased our home in 2014. We had a premium Thermador package which I upgraded. For 4 years we used the home for vacations and rarely if ever used the range oven since we ate out most of the time. We moved into our home full time in April of 2018 and now use the oven about once or twice a week. Since there are only 2 of us we use the small convection oven exclusively. 3 weeks ago the oven light went out and I thought I would get around to changing it.
Last week I decided to try to use the oven self clean for the first time. Not because it was really dirty but I thought I'd try it to see how long it would take. At first I got a NOT POSSIBLE message on the oven. I called for a repair and the repair guy got here 2 days later. He tried to turn on the oven and it didn't work at all. Long story short, a module needs to be replaced for $800 plus service charge. In my last home I had built-in Kitchenaid ovens for 20 years and NOT 1 PROBLEM! This 6 burner double oven range cost thousands. This may be the most expensive appliance repair I have ever had. The only reason I gave this stove 2 stars was because the burners work. Great.

After much research we purchased a higher end stove which at the time we paid over $6000 for. We remodeled an old farmhouse and built the kitchen around the stove. Soon after we had it we had to have a few service calls but that was no big deal. Now only four of the burners work and we called out a Thermador service tech who informed us they no longer make parts to fix it.
I called the Thermador factory and talked with customer service who also stated they no longer made parts and told us "we were out of luck" and the stove is 19 years old. That is unacceptable to me. The attitude I received was shameful. Just because an appliance is nineteen years old should not make it obsolete. I assure you I will never purchase any Thermador product in my lifetime and I will ensure any family member will NOT purchase one either. It is hard for me to believe that that just quit making parts and it is not only for my model either, it is for numerous models they misrepresented when they sold them.

I wouldn’t give them negative stars, if possible. I’ve been trying to get a microwave repaired for over 3 months. First it took forever to get someone out because over the half the service techs Thermador listed did not actually serve in my area. Found out I needed two parts which I ordered through Thermador. Was told both parts were available. One part came in mid-March. Second part never showed up. Followed up and was told other part is not available (after being told twice it was available). Now 5 weeks later, want to send first part back and am told there will be 25% restocking fee. I told them I’m only sending it back because 2nd part is no longer made. They said management would have to waive restocking fee. Followed up 4 times and no one will get back to me on returning the part. I can’t even describe how horrible the service has been. I have Thermador appliances and will never buy one again.

We purchased the 36" professional range, with 4 burners and griddle in the middle, about 2 years ago and are fairly content. But the reason for the 2 stars is that for nearly $10,000 we should be completely satisfied. The light inside went out within about a year, we've had a few issues with the bake function (which Thermador took care of), but have also been dealing with a loud noise in the back for about a year.
Upon looking at the back, up top, right inside the vent area, it's apparent that the sheet metal they used wasn't installed flat. So basically there's a bulge that rattles, since it doesn't sit flush, and they used far too few rivets to secure it. For this amount of money it just doesn't seem right. Don't even get me started on the dishwasher, if you don't pre-clean dishes very very thoroughly, it will start giving you problems. My last GE dishwasher, which was just a few hundred dollars, ran like a champ without a problem - ever.

I purchased the side by side fridge and freezer in 2011. The ice maker immediately stopped working so it was replaced. The new ice maker would then jam up and cause me to take the drawer out and manually break up the ice. I've spent over $500 in repair costs to try to get this fixed and nobody has an answer. Now, 8 years after I bought it, I still have to pull the drawer out and manually break up the ice every couple of days. That's hundreds of times now since I bought it.
I get more annoyed each time I have to do it as you could imagine. I've contacted Thermador support multiple times on this matter. Each time they deny my request for action on their end. I've spent well over $25k on Thermador appliances. I'LL NEVER GIVE ANOTHER DOLLAR TO THIS COMPANY. Highly overrated and overpriced. Good riddance.

When I called today to confirm, Thermador had not lodged the service order correctly and the service repairman still did not have the part we needed. I took the day off of work again today. My husband and I built our dream retirement home and used Thermador for all our kitchen appliances to the tune of $20,000.00. First time opening refrigerator doors the header trim piece fell off and struck my husband in the head. Technician came back and slammed piece in with his fist, but still works its way loose over the course of a month, at which time my husband has to smack it back into place (very poor design). We are currently on our second stove. First one had back burners that looked as if we were cooking on campfires. Technicians came back three times to try and correct flames with no luck.
Thermador requested analysis of our gas provider, who is very reputable and service many of our neighbors without any issues. After approximately a year of going back and forth, Thermador finally swapped out our stove and gave us a new one. However, just recently we tried to use the self-cleaning feature on our second stove and to our dismay it does not work. For this price point you would not expect such poor performance. We have already steered two couples who are our friends away from going with Thermador (one went with GE Monogram and the other with Wolf) and they are very happy. We would not recommend Thermador and would highly suggest that anyone in the market for a new appliance look elsewhere.
