I bought a house and the back porch faces the sun when it sets. The sun sets in the west of my house and it was so hot. So, I thought, I’ll see if the SunSetter works. I saw their ad on TV and I signed up on the internet and they called me. Their team was great. The guy that sold it to me also installed it. And he was just super nice and he explained everything to me. He showed me the remote. He also made sure I knew what to do if the awning got wet. I use the awning so that I can sit out on my porch at night, in the afternoon, and my flowers don’t get burned up. I’ve had a great experience with it. It’s beautiful and it makes my house look pretty. And a neighbor liked it so much. He came over and I showed him how it works and he also bought two, one for his front yard, one for his back.

Everything’s been great with my experience with SunSetter. I’ve seen it on television, and then, we happened to run into them at the home and garden show. Their team was really good and everything was fine. At one point, they had done something wrong with the awning and it ripped, but they were able to get us a new awning within just a couple of days. They stayed in contact with us and they came back. So, everything turned out really well. They were also very professional and very quick. And they answered all our questions too. I had a very good experience. We use the awning quite a bit. It covers pretty much our whole deck and we sit out there by the pool. And we also grill underneath it.

In the afternoons, we get really hot sun coming into our house. We wanted an awning to help shield the sun out. We got one from SunSetter and everything’s been fine with it thus far. Sometimes though, it’s difficult to get the awning to go out and stay out. It’ll go out part of the way, turn around and come back. Other times, it'll go out all the way, then turn around and go back. Sometimes it might take 30 minutes or so for the awning to go out and stay.

We've had a SunSetter awning for 21 years and had good luck with it. So when we decided it was time for another one, we figured to stay with SunSetter. Everything was great with the sales. The reps came out and explained everything. I also had somebody else from a different company come out and explained it all, but we just decided to stay with SunSetter. Everything was great with the installation, too. We went with an electronic awning which was a little bigger than the old one. We’re happy with it and so far, so good.

It was too hot outside and I decided it was time to purchase an awning. I went with SunSetter Awnings because of their reputation and also for the convenience. They installed the awning in one day but came back the second day to make sure it opened properly. It was too windy the first day and they didn’t wanna risk opening it into the wind. But it was all good. It didn’t take them very long at all. It was a very smooth experience.

I needed to purchase an awning for my patio and went for SunSetter because of their advertisement. I had a few problems with the dealer for a while, but we got them straightened out. The original offer was for three or four projects, and I elected not to take any of them. And then, afterwards, we decided with the patio lights, then I had all kinds of trouble with the dealer and with SunSetter. Finally, they sent me a set, but it was quite a problem. Installation then went alright, which didn't take them an hour. I'm still in shock. $600 in doing an hour's work - I guess that's business today. Other than that, everything has been fine since the installation.

We wanted an awning for aesthetic. I was aware of the SunSetter name and I contacted the local dealer. I thought it was a prompt service. We were looking for the standard color then I added a motor and SunSetter helped me out a bit with it. The installers were on time and pretty thorough. They took roughly two hours to finish. Having the awning allows us to use our outdoor space more throughout the entire day. I would recommend SunSetter.

I just picked SunSetter and we got the motorized awning. We put it on the back porch because it made it cooler. The last time they were here when they were putting the awning up, I got some coupons for free lights the day before. I called them and asked how come I didn't get any free lights. The rep said that I couldn’t use those coupons because I already bought the awnings and I paid cash for it. I don't see why I could’t use those coupons. Nevertheless, the sales rep was a good guy and I’ve told people about SunSetter.

We got an awning from SunSetter to cover our porch and windows at the same time. I told them what I wanted and they gave it to me. They were great and there was no high pressure. The installer did a really good job. Plus, he went a little further than he had to. Our awning is motorized with lights. I'm happy with its operation. It goes out and comes in just fine. Plus, it keeps the house a lot cooler. I got the awning on sale but I would be happier if I could have gotten it a $100 cheaper.

SunSetter's price was good and I was happy with their warranty. I decided to get a 15-foot, motorized awning from them and their team was very smart. However, there was an offer on Costco and it was way cheaper than the retailer's. It become more expensive for me, but I went with the retailer because I like to buy local. It's bad for local business that SunSetter works with Costco. Despite this issue, Installation thereafter was very easy and I had a very nice experience with SunSetter.

We’ve had a lot of issues with SunSetter, but I’ve been real pleased with the fact that they’ve replaced the fabric twice. The first time I ever used it the morning after I got it, it wasn’t even 12 hours old. I was showing my daughter what I got from inside on FaceTime, and I started to let it out. She was getting all excited watching it. It was a little bit breezy out there so I stopped it before it went all the way out then let it go back in. Wind gust came along and took it over the gutter. As soon as I hung up, the sensor went off and closed it by itself and ripped a big, foot-long hole in the awning. They came out, fixed it, and replaced the fabric.
A day or so after I got the second one, my friend was over and asked, “So, is that a hole I see in the middle of it?” There was a hole in it. It wasn’t a huge hole but it was like an inch-long hole that kinda looked like a check mark. Once again, I took a picture and sent it to them, and they replaced the fabric. I’ve been happy with how they've taken care of me as far as that goes. I really like the guy that owns the business that installed them. He’s really good. I’m just concerned when the warranty is up.

I’m enjoying my experience with SunSetter Awnings. My brother who is disabled had one and I installed it for him. The rep I dealt with was a very nice guy. Plus, the price was better than another price I had. The awning works well and looks really good. But I haven't received a winter cover yet, but I was told they're all on back order. We have a concrete pad that we sit on outside. We had an umbrella there before. We needed to put it up, take it out, put it in a table, and raise it. And it only covers a certain distance. In comparison, the awning covers three-quarters of the space. I also added a screen shield in front that drops three feet. I’d recommend SunSetter Awnings.

I had a big oak tree that used to shade my deck. It had to be removed so I had nothing shading my deck. I called and had somebody come out and give me information. Then I ordered the SunSetter to fit my area. I like it, but I had a problem with the people that installed it. They did a nice job but they left all the packing materials on the side of my house. It was heavy for me to pick up and I didn’t have a container big enough to put it all in. M neighbor called, and I called several times and asked them to come and pick it up. They never did so my next door neighbor took it upon himself, picked it up, and put in his trash. I was very disappointed with them that they would not want to come and pick it up. After all, they left it.

The deck at the back of my house wasn’t covered, and looking at the flyers that I’ve been getting in the mail, I decided to try SunSetter. They offered beautiful selections of awnings and I liked how the rep described everything and laid it out with the brochures and the color charts. It was perfect. I got the motorized one and then he had somebody do the installation. They had broken one of the lights during installation, but they came back within a week and replaced it. I've used my SunSetter since then and it worked perfectly.

I love my SunSetter. I went with a local person who came out and showed me everything. He brought samples and did measurements. He did an exceptional job. He told me the steps that we were gonna go and everything went according to the plan. They did a great job on the installation too. My SunSetter is perfect. It's exactly what I was hoping it would be. The wind sensor works great. It's gotten windy a couple of times and actually closed on itself. It worked as it was supposed to.
I enjoy the fact that it's here and I can open it and use it. I like it so much that I tell everybody about it. Most people in my family laugh at me because almost everything I have, if it can have a remote, I got it. So, as soon as somebody comes in the house, I'd say, "Have you seen my awning yet? You gotta see this." And it's been really nice. I've had some yard work done, and we've had some storms in the afternoon and we push this out. The guys will come and they'll work underneath it so they're not getting wet. The workmen really kinda like it.

I recently purchased a Motorized Retractable Sunsetter Awning. It worked beautifully for the first 3 weeks. Then I ordered a wind sensor. It operated beautifully for about 10 days. Since then the pairing of the remote, awning, and wind sensor have been behaving badly. The awning will now occasionally go out halfway, then retract. I tried reprogramming the remote, etc. several times to no avail. Today I called customer service and was told I needed to install new batteries. The customer service rep was lovely and helped me as best she could. However, I shouldn’t have to be buying new batteries so soon. Secondly I don’t feel there is adequate technical support... someone to talk you through the re-programming.
I think my biggest complaint is the the website is sorely lacking for an e-commerce site. If a company that brags about selling 1/3 of the countries retractable awnings, it should look like it and make the sites more user friendly. As it is, it operates like a website from the year 2000. Spend some money and step into this decade. Technical information and help should be easier for consumers. Meanwhile I will continue on my own to address these issues.

I was thrilled when I finally saved up $2,500 to purchase an Oasis freestanding awning. I live in the country near Palm Springs and this was a huge improvement to my patio. However, we got a few summer month's use, and then fall and winter came. The first warm day I tried to open our new awning and there was no response. I spent the next several weeks troubleshooting based on their website, and then through Customer Service and apparently the motor was dead—after one season!! I explained that I am a 68 year old disabled woman living in the country and customer service assured me that I could—and would HAVE to—replace the motor myself. All I had to do was stand on a ladder and remove it from the end.
I now have the motor and instructions in hand, and it clearly states it requires 4 people to remove the awning from the supports, remove the end brackets and replace the motor—then lift the 400 pound awning back up to reinstall it on the mounts. What kind of company doesn't stand behind a one year old $2,500 product??? I have no local help, no local installers and don’t know what to do next.

I recently got a flyer and SunSetter claims they’re having sales. I can’t get over the fact they advertised prices but told me it was free. I looked up the price of the hood I had to get on my SunSetter and it was an individual price. On my receipt for $600, they're now running that for 429. The rep told me I was getting certain things free, but I can see the prices on there. He told me he was giving me this wind thing that automatically rolls back the awning when the wind gets high, but they price that out at $179 in their advertising. That wasn’t free. I paid for it.
When the salesman came in, he asked me if I had the $200 off SunSetter coupon. I said no and he said it didn't matter. In other words, the coupon is another deception. It doesn’t matter whether or not you have one. I don’t believe he would’ve charged me more because I didn’t have that coupon. I also needed a side panel and it was the only thing they gave me. They never gave me the hardware that goes with it in order to install it. It took me months to get that from them. They kept saying they don’t have them. Overall, I will never recommend SunSetter to anyone.

We have a patio in our backyard and it was next to the back side of our garage. The sun just beats there constantly and I thought of an awning. SunSetter is what's sold around here and there was only one man listed for awnings so that's why we called him. Our experience was perfect. They did a great job. My husband had concerns with the wiring 'cause it's electric and they did everything nicely behind the siding.
The installation didn't really take long. They came first thing in the morning and they were gone by 2 o'clock. However, we didn't get any literature with it. Now, summer is hitting here so we've been trying to put the awning down with the remote thing and it wouldn't work. I assumed it was the battery so we were trying to find the battery around here for that. My son-in-law ended up ordering off the internet. I was playing with it today 'cause I kept thinking the battery can't be bad. I kept playing with the buttons and finally, it opened. The awning is really nice. We're happy with it. We like the color and we don't have any complaints. I'm trying to get my neighbor to buy one.

But the guys ordered it and they said that they didn't get one. I also ordered a flagpole from SunSetter about a month ago and I didn't get the rug either. I purchased over $50 and was supposed to get one for that. I’m without a rug, but I've gotten an awning and I love it. I sit out underneath it and it's great. We are still waiting for the free winter cover and it is a little annoying. They also have to get their order process straightened out. But other than that, I'm very happy with the product. The electronic mechanism is very handy and its colors go with our house. We live in Cape Cod and most of the houses here have cedar shingles which are brown and we have a kind of a brown, white awning. Our deck has direct sunlight during most of the summer. The nice rep also came by and checked to make sure it was properly installed, and we did a good job. However, SunSetter has an aluminum cover that seals a fabric itself across there, and they sell that separately. I wish my awning came with it. I paid a good price for the product, and the cover is quite expensive to buy separately. People should at least get it at a discount if they do it separately. Also, I’ve had several reps and my experience has been positive. The woman who helped me with my last purchase was great. She called me back and got me a deal. It was amazing. I got an electric motor extension. When I decided on the color scheme, I was looking at the tablet and it was hard to tell. There’s also no way to send a sample swatch without sending an eight-foot wide strip. Eventually, the awning I chose is a gradation of colors. We were looking for an awning for the front of our home and we were receiving little things in the mail from SunSetter. So I called them, and it was kind of strange because they would talk to you directly but you couldn't get any detail from them because the work is done by local contractor. So they contract with certain group to come and install and sell them to you. So it was a little bit hard because we had to hook up with the local person here.
There was a couple of things that made us want to buy SunSetter. One of them was a coupon for $250, and a free awning cover. It was really funny to me because the local company that we had to buy it by didn't want us to use that coupon. They didn't wanna discount it very much at all. They did finally do a little discount which was a weird a little thing they did to changing the tax thing, that we didn't really understand. We talked about the $200 coupon, and it was only at that point that they were willing to give us any kind of discounts. They also said that the coupon covers junk that SunSetter gives us. They literally told us it was junk, that no one's gonna use it. It's terrible. It was odd because they were supposed to be representing SunSetter and they didn't wanna deal with any of the offerings that SunSetter was giving. They just wanted to do their own thing.
We chose the 18x10 awning which had the nicer fabric. It’s motorized as well with the remote, so that was nice. The installers were really great with the installation. It was perfect. This acrylic awning is gorgeous and lovely, but underneath it is very, very warm. We chose it because it was going to be less fadable by the sun and their rep told us this was a much better choice. But I'm starting to wonder if maybe it would have been a better choice to do something that has a little more air throughout the fabric. It's pretty warm staying under there. So it makes a good shade, but we’re getting more heat. And that's something that people really should be told about if they choose this heavier acrylic fabric. In general, we're very satisfied with SunSetter.

Their installers were great and they cleaned up behind themselves. Since getting the awning, I usually have it out most days when the sun is shining bright. It's very good work and cools things down. I recommend this good product to friends.

Our SunSetter awning came down with broken rafters. This has no reflection on the salesperson, but we've been waiting to repair and put it back up because of the rain. And it has not been done yet. It's laying in my garage. The thing that automatically recalls it did not work during a rainstorm. So, when I woke up in the morning, there was water on it, and it was standing about 3 feet above the ground instead of 6 or 7 feet up high. So, I called and the guy that installed it came out. When they installed it, they put two bolts and two rafters on one side. And they only used one on the other side instead of two on both sides. So, we both felt that it was not installed properly. But he tightened it to see if he could get it, and I was in the house when he was doing this. And when he tightened it, I could hear this sound and all three of the rafters that it was hooked to cracked. They can be replaced and Dan and I had talked about it a couple of times.
The last time I talked to him, I said, "I think I would just like to have my money back. I don't really like the experience." So, I don't know what he's doing about it. I don't know if he's even reported this. I don't know how to proceed. I didn't realize how windy it gets out here. I only moved here about eight months ago. And I couldn't tell them that because I hadn't experienced a winter here. But now that I have, I don't think I want it up. It just doesn't fit this type of area. And the salesperson has been very nice, but he's offering to come out and make the repairs himself. I don't want him to do that. I want a professional contractor to do it because I'm gonna sell this house in about three to four months, and I have to be able to say it's structurally sound.
If it wasn't in this area, I would tell a friend to get SunSetter. They responded to me. It hasn't been an unpleasant experience. It's just that the issue is not resolved. Now, that I've not had it up, and after this long timeframe, I would rather just have my money back. It's not SunSetter's fault. I think they're good company. I used them because I've heard of them before. And in fact, one of the houses I almost bought in Riverside instead of coming out here had one of the awnings. And I loved it. You just push a button. It goes out. You can pull it back if you want more light in the house. And that's one of the reasons why I did this. But, it doesn't work where I am. I'd recommend SunSetter to a friend.

I needed some protection from the heat from the sun on one side of my patio and I thought that SunSetter was a little better quality. The person on the phone was great to work with. There were plenty of choices as far as coloring and I was able to find one that worked for my location. I got an 8-foot retractable awning with the lights. On one side of my patio in the summertime, the sun comes in, so I extend the awning, and that way, that side of the patio can stay shaded and cool. I'd recommend SunSetter. Overall, it was very good.

Plus the Sunsetter people were good with me. I couldn't do any better. The awning is really accommodating for the deck and for me and my family. We all love it.

I live in Florida, and I bought a townhouse. The patio for the townhouse was put in front of it, which was unusual. I wanted the patio to be part of my living space. SunSetter has the Florida certification for their ability to withstand a hurricane, so I bought two awnings from them. The local company that I worked with in the Fort Lauderdale area was very nice, but SunSetter itself made a lot of problems. Even though they ordered the correct colors, one of the awnings came in the wrong color. I saw the order that they placed, and everything was hunky-dory, so it had nothing to do with the local people. Also, the lights were sent to the wrong address somewhere in New Jersey. So I had two different installations. It took a while to get the correct awnings up and to get the lights installed. Both of my awnings are electric-operated and I keep them open all of the time. The awnings extend my living space, so that I can accommodate 10 more people for a party.

I have a patio door to a deck off of my dining room that faces east. I get the bad sun from about 8:30 'till about 2:30 that beats in my window. It gets hot out there and I can't really use the deck for about six hours a day. I belong to an association and there are four townhomes where I am. One guy who lives here has some lung decease when it's hot so we all decided to get motorized awnings. One of the other owners said that SunSetter would be a good company to get an awning from so we went with them. When we were talking about the awnings at our meetings, the price was about $1,000 more than what I thought we were gonna have to pay for each of us. None of us felt we got a sale deal for the full price.
Their sales team really knew what they were doing and were quite aggressive about wanting to sell. Even so, Their installers only took a short time to install though and since having my awning, I've been enjoying it. It's starting to get windy and I'm wondering if maybe I need to bring it back in a little bit. Still, I have a feature with which if it gets too windy, my awning will automatically retract. I bought one of the widest awnings that was available to me. It’s automatic and it is absolutely wonderful. We used it over the weekend when we had picnics. It was great.
We knew that the installers were coming and they just worked away. I offered them water or soda but they had their own with them. It worked well. People should call SunSetter and have them come up and tell them what’s available. Mine was much more expensive than what some of the people would buy because they buy it for a garage or over a small area, but mine went across the deck. After we purchased the SunSetter awning, they sent out the installer to install it and that was where the problem began. The installer couldn't install it because it was the wrong size. And in order to install it, I would have to cut a tree and some other things. It would cost is more money and we would have to pay for cutting the tree. They should’ve sent someone out to inspect it. What the salesperson told us wasn’t true, so we have such a bad feeling and bad situation. So we cancelled the order, and now they are trying to get us to keep the order and cut the tree and take a smaller size, but we’re not gonna do that. We wanted the awning, but it was not a good experience. And we’re still waiting for them to refund our money.
Before installing, SunSetter could take proper measurements, and give the buyer instruction as to what needs to be done. For instance, if they had taken the proper measurement, they would've known that the tree was in the way. They could’ve discussed that with me prior to ordering it, and I would've rather be known right then we were not gonna cut the tree. They could have rectified this. We would not have to go through all of this, cancelling the order and the problem that we’re having with them now. Also, if they had discussed the smaller one, we might have gone with it. But I’m almost sure we wouldn’t have because the whole point of getting the awning was to stop the rain from coming on the patio. We wanted to sit out there during the rain. My wife loves rains. If we got their smaller awing, water would still be dropping on our portion of the patio.

But I don't know how expensive it was because our insurance paid for it. I had to pay the deductible, but if I was going to purchase it, I might have shopped around and made sure I got the best one for my money. But since I was getting it replaced by insurance and my builder said it was a good one, we got it.
We had a tree fall down and knock our deck down and part of our house and the awning we currently had, and we had to replace it. And we decided to get an awning from SunSetter instead of putting up a permanent one. And this one runs by itself. If the wind starts to blow, it closes by itself. The only thing is our awning has a rip in it, and they're supposed to come and replace it. It was installed, and the first time I put it out, we noticed a tear right where one of the bolts was in the middle. And so, the guy said he would replace it. Our experience with their team was good and the whole process took less than a day. We picked the colors and got to pick where it went. The awning has greatly changed our ability to use our deck. We've already had two picnics out there and when it rains, it won't come in.

We called SunSetter and they gave us the number in Hastings, Nebraska of a person that sold them. We called him and set up an appointment. He came out and then installed the awning on a Sunday morning. We went to church and when we came back, he about had it done. We like it just fine. It was pretty expensive, but the quality is pretty good. Also, the quality of the service from SunSetter was fine.

I stated to Sunsetter how wide my awning needed to be and everything went fine. The awning costs a lot. But it's a good purchase for us. What I don't like is the fact that they won't allow qualified electricians to shorten the cord. So we have all that pile of cords sitting on the side of our house. I suggest they change the policy about the cords, because it's a waste of cords. And qualified electrician should be able to do that and still keep the warranty in place. But other than that, I'm satisfied.

I now have my awning installed after ordering it one year ago. After losing it 3 times, and arriving damaged 3 times, they dumped a damaged 14ft awning on my driveway, and then had the nerve to ask me to dispose of it. I paid a 1000 dollars to have their service company install it and fix the damages on my new awnings. They did eventually refunded my money and they offered to send me their LED lights for my years inconvenience, but they sent their ugly cheap lights I didn't request. When I called back they said they would send the LED lights, but they never arrived. When I called just now, the supervisor said there was a mistake and they would and will not be offering them us after we were told they would send them to make up for the inconvenience it's his last year. I even bought a second awning we wanted (through a company that delivered it) since they offered us the LED patio lights to make up for the one YEAR wait.
They say now, they are not sending me the LED patio lights. I would never have bought the second awning. I wish we used another solution now. The product is good, but they don't know how to run a company. And they aren't fair. They use nice words, but don't trust them. They say they take notes in customer service, but only half of them do. I have over 20 hours talking and on hold with this company. What a waste of time. I'm very disappointed with how they handled this situation, and I am going to report them to BBB as well. Beware.. I saw SunSetter’s commercial ad on TV and I watched it for 30 minutes. It seemed like a quality product. We have a screened-in back porch on our house and so, when I use the awning, it keeps the porch from getting too much sun and from getting hot. I had somebody else do the installation and it was quick and easy. We've had it for almost a year and we're happy with our awning. It’s a great product and I don't have any complaints.

My experience with SunSetter Awnings was alright. I have a SunSetter at my house in South Windsor. I get a lot of things from them like news things that they send out. So I just figured I'd go with them. I always thought they were a good company. Andrei, the gentleman that came out on a Saturday, put the awning up. He came over to my store during the week. And we went over the colors and everything. I had to give him half. And then when he finished putting it up, I had to give him the other half. And he did a nice, neat job.
I purchased a completely electric awning. It's okay but I think if a good wind will be coming by, we'd have a little problem. It goes out like 11 feet. And maybe they could put a pole. I have poles on each end of the one I have over at my house in South Windsor. So, this one is a little bit more elaborate, nicer, neater, and cleaner. Everything was good.

I have a tiny courtyard in a retirement community where there are small houses all close together. Because of the direct sun in the afternoon, I can’t even get out there until 8:30 or 9:00 o’clock. I decided to buy a SunSetter through Gutter Guard. I'm very dissatisfied with where the installer of my SunSetter awning put it. The guy put the awning where it covers the sun when it hits the area where the awning is. However, it's still hotter than hell in my courtyard during the afternoons. It works fine but then the salesperson told me that where he put the awning would correct the problem and it certainly did not. The guy who installed it just put it where the salesman told him to put it. The salesman surely knows where the sun sets. Other people shouldn't go with the company I bought my SunSetter awning from.

I've got a nice deck. I learned how to barbecue and I like to watch some pigeons fly. Sometimes, it's too hot out there so I got an awning. SunSetter sent out a local company who was gonna install the awning, and it's about $2,000 difference. It says two people can put it up so I figured I could find two people to put it up better than $2,000. So I didn't order it. Watching about it more, I just called to see if I could just order the awning. So, that's what I did. I wanted yellow, but they don't have it so I got a brown one. It's automatic with the wind retraction in it. I had a friend come and help, and the installation would've been real good. But the board underneath my soffit was not strong enough. So we had to replace the board.
Since having the awning, I've been out a few times. I've got a shih tzu and I like to give her haircuts outside. But we have so much wind here. I would just put it out a little to cover us. It was warm out, but it was windy. It kept retracting and I kept putting it out. We got done what we wanted to do till my clippers got warm and then we quit. We haven't had a day where it's been really warm enough to put the awning out. If the wind is blowing really hard, the awning will go in. We have a motor home and we had an automatic awning, but it didn't have the wind sensor on it. We'd go out fishing, and we'd have to put the awning in because we didn't know if the wind was gonna be coming up while we were out. I also knew how much heat it reflected. We hardly used our air conditioner in the fifth wheel because when we were in there, we had the awning out, and it really helped. Overall, I'd recommend SunSetter.

I had three big pecan trees back of my house, about 55 years old, and the limbs got too close to the deck, so I trimmed them twice. Then, I finally cut all three of them down and I decided to put an awning for shade. The SunSetter sales people and their customer service was alright. Two old guys came here and put it up for me one day and they did a good job on it. The guy gave me a price on a replacement, so I appreciated that. The awning took place of the shade that we had before and it doesn’t rain on us now. I can stand back under the awning and still cook on the grill, since it’s close enough. You can press a button and the awning goes in and out. You don’t have to crank it unless the current goes off and if the wind blows hard, it automatically rolls up by itself. This is the first time I’ve ever owned an awning and I’m well-pleased with it. We use it and we enjoy it.

I'm pretty handy, but if I can get somebody to install it and I don't have to worry about it, then that's the route to go for me. Plus if something doesn't work right, I can go back to the installer. I got the awning that has the yellow and tan color. It was a little more conservative. I got it to go with the tile in my courtyard because I put a pool in. And I wanted it to break that up a little bit. The installation of the awning was quick and easy. The guys who put it in showed me how to work it. They told me to just call them if I have any questions. And when I did, I found out they meant that.
The awning helped with my cooling because when I drop it, I don't get all of that sunlight coming into my home and don't hear the air kick on as often. I also noticed the difference when I wasn't using the awning, the air conditioning unit seemed working a lot harder. SunSetter Awnings made my outdoor living livable. I would not use the area when the sun is full on if I didn't have the awning. I also have an entire wall that is all windows and the awning has already covered that entire bank of the window. I have recommended SunSetter Awnings to my neighbors and also told my son it was one of the best purchases I've made.

Our experience with SunSetter Awnings was very good. We got an awning that is about 20 feet long and extends to about 11 and a half feet. This awning telescopes out, is automatic and has a remote control. It also has a wind contractor, but we've never seen it work. The awning has a beige color that is terrible, but we live in a condominium so we're limited in our choices. The gentleman who installed the awning was really easy to work with. Overall, I like SunSetter.

We needed an awning to shade the living room as the sun that was coming in in the afternoon was blinding. Our condominium's association referred SunSetter to me, and the company was great to work with. Their team came out and showed me the samples then I picked out what I wanted. They ordered it and then as soon as it came in, they gave me a call and said it was there. It was done very quickly. The installation went very well, too. The people came and put the awning in, then they cleaned up the mess. They also showed me how to use it. I was really happy with them.
I got a very simple awning and it has a little remote on it that will roll in and out by itself. It also has a little extra awning and hangs down that you can put down by hand if you need just that to come straight down over your window. And now, I would normally put it down around 2:00 in the afternoon, when the sun comes down. I have my grill out there on the deck, and I wasn’t even able to use that before when the sun was out really bright. All in all, I had a wonderful experience with SunSetter. It's everything I was looking for and I'm very happy with it. I would recommend SunSetter to anyone.

I’ve heard and seen a lot about SunSetter on television and we got a motorized awning from them. The installation took one day and it went fine. The color is fine but, I thought the awning would be farther out and I was surprised with it. Nevertheless, the motorized awning is great, especially when you get old like me.

We had a screen put on our front porch by SunSetter, the ones that roll down in the shed, so the sun doesn't shine on you. We had good luck with that. Everything was working just fine and it worked great. So we went back to SunSetter because we were very happy with the first installation and everything about it. Recently, we had a door put in, and then we put a porch on and installed a SunSetter awning so it will be shaded in the afternoon, and we like it out there. It was properly installed by Authority Home Solutions of Ocala, Florida. Then, I had some wind but the wind device didn't work. So they sent out somebody to check it out.
They got here and took it apart. They said somebody put batteries in wrong. Certainly, it wasn't me. They wanted to charge me $160 for a service call. They finally brought it down to $100 and I paid it. But now, the awning started acting up so I called them. They said it would be another service call to come out and look at it. I asked if there was some kind of a warranty that would cover something like this. They said none and it would be a service call if they will come out. Then they said for me to call SunSetter and find out how to reprogram it. SunSetter has a good product and I had a very good experience the first time Authority Home Solutions installed something for me. But this time, it has not been good at all.

I had to order replacement parts for my awning since the previous owner of my home took it down and misplaced a lot of the parts. I was on the phone with a SunSetter rep for about an hour making sure he included all the missing parts in a single order. After a hefty order which I paid $160 worth of shipping for, I was still missing parts. I had ordered a deck replacement kit which supposedly included two plates, but when it arrived I only got one. They also sent me the wrong wall mounting brackets. I called back to ask for these parts along with the bolts and screws that go within, and to place the order I had to pay another $34 of shipping. Ridiculous. I'm convinced they do this to get more money because the tax is calculated based on the subtotal for the parts AND shipping. Their awnings are nice, but hopefully this is the last time I have to order from them.

I checked around and SunSetter Awnings was the most economical. I got the motorized awning and somebody else came to install it. The experience was good but when I went to use it this year for the first time, it wouldn't work. We thought the battery in the remote was dead. We went and got a new battery, but it still didn't work so I had to call SunSetter. I was on the phone for close to an hour and the guy on the phone didn't help. We never got the awning working. I got so frustrated with him because he just kept telling us to unplug and plug it back in. He had me go upstairs and get a hairdryer so that he could hear that the outlets were working. This was on a Saturday and I told him that I would just hang up and call back on Monday before I say something that I would regret.
When I called back, a girl answered the phone. I had reread the manual and tried to troubleshoot it myself. That didn't work and finally, after about half an hour, she asked me if the fabric was going over the bar of the awning or under it. It looked like it was under it and she said that I gotta rewind it and have it go over. It was a fiasco, but we finally got that all worked out. Also, the awning won’t open all the way for some reason. I remembered that when I went to open it, I just pressed the button once and it would extend until I stop it myself. Now, when I press the button, I have to keep pressing it but I'm okay with that as long as the awning works.

I love to sit and look at the lake, but I can’t take 90 degrees like I used to. The SunSetter seemed like the perfect option for me, which it was. I’m very happy with it. I got the motorized awning. When it is fully extended, you can use the lever thingy to wrap down the end piece that drops down, and that takes the glare off the lake, so it works perfectly.
There was a SunSetter dealer about 40 minutes from where I live and it was great once I made contact. The gentleman came over and brought samples. He was very helpful. It was a little bit more than I wanted to spend after looking at their website. But I understood when he explained to me that it was because of the width of what I wanted to cover. We came to an agreement, and then there were two gentlemen that came in. They were gone in under two hours. They have done this many, many times. They got that up there, and they checked the metal aluminum protector and operated it. Then they went over the remote with me. I was very satisfied. I've recommended them to a couple of my neighbors.

The SunSetter Awnings salesman came and said that he had had his awning out in the open, that he had used it for 10 years and that his was even as good as the ones they made now. We ordered it and paid $8,000 for it but after the man put it up, he said it could not be left open when it rains hard. If we leave it open, then the warranty is not covered. So, we didn't get everything we thought we were buying.
We got the retractable one in case we wanted sunshine down where we are grilling. We have a basement house and it's on the basement level so that we could be out there and enjoy it but we can’t. We wanted it for one purpose and it's not that purpose. We just lost $8,000. We wish we hadn't gotten it but we already paid for it and they wouldn't take it down and refund it. We are not pleased. A father and son team installed the awnings here over a year ago, then two workers did it in The Cape. Everybody was courteous and they were good workers. They knew what they were doing. Both awnings are motorized, since I'm too old to have manual and when the one here was making a banging noise, I called SunSetter and they fixed it. They were great. I love them. It seemed to be exactly what we needed. I also picked the color I like for the awning and we're very happy with it.
They had FedEx deliver the product, and then when I called them, they showed up within a day or so. Apparently, though, because the product was was so big, FedEx had damaged it when it was in transit. And the installers didn't realize it until the awning was already up and running. Then immediately, they said they were sorry and that they know what the problem was. The rod was bent and there was a rip on the awning from when they tried to open it. They then reordered a new one, had it redelivered, and reinstalled within a week. And it's perfectly fine. I got scammed a little bit because SunSetter had a very low price for a very small manual one, then by the time I was done, it was thousands of dollars. I’m not over the moon with my experience with them because I spent a lot of money on two very large awnings with all the bells and whistles. One color that I selected was behind and it went through the whole summer without being able to even get what I wanted.
Eventually, the local person that does it managed to get SunSetter to agree to give me a different color with the promise that when they got the other one in that they would give me what I had originally ordered. Then when they did get the other one, they just said, "Oh, we'll keep it in the warehouse. And whenever the other one failed, we'll switch it for you." And I said, "Well, I'd prefer that at least I have the material in my hot little hands so that when it does happen, it'll be to my benefit to basically get an extra warranty because of the fact that I'm not putting it up right now."
At the moment they put it up, they didn't give me any instructions whatsoever on battery replacement for the sensors. They just put it up and assumed it worked. The guy, even though when I eventually told him that only one of them worked, he said, "We'll drop out the other awning and have a look at it then." They didn't do that. I phoned him since then and said, "Hey, it still doesn't work. It didn't work from day one." "Oh, I'm sure it did," he goes and all that. Now, both sensors are not working. The installers were also great, although I did have to have them come out again to adjust the wind thing. That closes the awning up if it's too windy but the slightest breeze would close it up. When I called about it, SunSetter put me back in touch with the people who installed it. So that has gotten fixed. The awning would probably be out all the time from May till the end of September. The awning has been here for a couple of months but when the people were installing it, it ripped. The installers were still here when the rip was noted and the rep has the material to replace the awning. However, since we had cold weather, it’s ridiculous to come out here at this time. He agreed to wait till we get a little bit better weather. Also, one of the reasons why I chose to buy at that particular time was because I was getting a cover for it included in the original price. The company is having a problem somewhere along the line. As of this time, they are not in production yet so, I still don’t have the cover that was promised to me.
The awning is waiting there and I’m on the list to have it installed. I’m not in any major rush for that at this moment and I don’t have any gatherings coming up where I need it. An issue we had with him as he was a little bit slow to answer when I would ask him questions.
I wish they had different fabric choices. There was one cream option, but that was in the plastic-kind, and we wanted the canvass so it could breathe and it wouldn’t get hotter. All of the choices, for the most part, looks like ice cream shop awnings. We just wanted a neutral linen-color cloth, something that would just be aesthetically pleasing, but there wasn’t really any good fabric. We have a green colored house and a brown deck and we ended up going with a navy blue with a white stripe, but that was the best of not great options.
I appreciate all the work that goes into it, but it’s not the most pleasant thing to look at. It’s great, as far as efficiency. It works great and we have the LED lights underneath, so it’s amazing. I love that we can put it in or pull it out. It’s just that it’s not pretty. We use it during the day to help keep the heat out of the house because it will bounce up off of the deck. It keeps the deck cool for the kids and the dog and at night, we open it up for the lights. Considering everything, we would still recommend them.

It was supposed to be four to six weeks, and about four weeks later they came in and said that the fabric was discontinued and I have to order another one. So I ordered another one. And they were supposed to expedite it since they had waited so long to tell us that they were discontinuing that fabric. We ordered it on the 1st of July, and we were hoping to have it in summer so we could use it.
They kept telling us that it has been shipped, and it never got here. After calling daily for about two weeks and now we're in the middle of August, the awning showed up, but all the accessory boxes that went with it didn't show up. I called SunSetter and they said if it didn't show up in three days, they would send a new one. A week later I called back, I still don't have it and they said the same thing that they would send a new one if it didn't show up in three days. I told them no and that we've been down that road before and I still don't have it.
Finally, they sent me the new hardware. And we finally got it installed the week of Labor Day, which was significantly later than we'd hope to have it installed. I had to pay in advance and nothing that I'd held back, because they make you pay for it fully. So that was not a pleasant experience. But a rep was really good trying to resolve this. She really tried. SunSetter has some odd practices. The fact that we have to pay 100% for the awning was very annoying. And then, they've got you by the hair, and they do whatever they want. The backyard is all sun, so any time we want to sit in a couple of chairs and relax, we utilize the awning.

It was quite efficient to have a SunSetter awning installed on the wall instead of having to build something else. I didn’t want any structure to be built and SunSetter was an easy way to go about it. SunSetter’s rep was very good and the timing was great. The installers were very good too and very clean. The awning was installed within a couple of hours and the way the installer showed us how to use it was fine.

We had an older awning, and we gave it to my dad. We went to the Wheeler's out in Niles and we bought two new awnings from SunSetter. I wasn't here when they did the installation but my wife said it went flawlessly. They went down and put my old one to my dad's. And the guys have been doing it for a lot of years, so they did a good job. I'd recommend SunSetter to anybody.

We talked about purchasing an awning for a while and we decided it was time to buy one. We chose to go with SunSetter Awnings due to their reputation and we had a great experience with their team. We got the motorized awning which is striped white and green and brown in color. We also had a great experience with the installation of the awning, which was done very quickly. We roll the awning out when it is hot and it shades our deck. I would recommend SunSetter Awnings.

I’d like to have some shade in my backyard and I wanted to get an awning company that is experienced. I thought that SunSetter does this type of work. I have bought the awning from them and it is here. It is free-standing and the model that is top-of-the-line. But, it has not been installed as I wanted them to put the awning first then I am gonna put the porch in. We thought that they’ll have it put up whenever it is convenient for them and the way that it will be done is that we’re gonna put the awning into a large timber which will sit over the end of some logs that stick out from my log house here. So, a lot of it can be built on the ground and then lifted up in one piece. I got some local people to do it, but it did not seem to materialize. So, if there are some people who know how to do it, I’d be very happy to pay for their labor.

The SunSetter reps were absolutely fantastic and they could not have been more helpful and more courteous. Their installers left the house cleaner than it was when they came to put in the awning. Also, the cost of their product was in line with its quality. We’re approaching our first year having our SunSetter awning and the experience with it has been absolutely perfect. Everything works like it is supposed to, and we're very happy customers.

I used SunSetter Awnings on my first house about 10 years ago. The awning held up pretty good. There's a strip there with a mushroom front ping, and I had to replace that because somehow it got cracked. We used them again on another house and in both times, the installer was great. They did an awesome job installing it. The reps were also great, and they promised that they would get it in on time. It was a good quality product overall.

My stepdad had just put in the deck and he wanted to cover it. He told me he wanted a SunSetter awning so I ordered it. The gentleman who came out here in Jacksonville treated him very well. We had the awning all custom made and it was the largest one that can possibly be motorized. It was a roof mounted as well. We were told that the order time was in four to six weeks but it came in four weeks and the awning was installed two days after it came in. The installers did the installation in one day. My stepdad has not been able to utilize it much yet and it had not gotten to be hot here in Florida, but he enjoys sitting out in the deck in the afternoons. Overall, our experience with SunSetter was good. We have also purchased SunSetter too where I used to work where the employees had a good relationship there as well.

Our old SunSetter awning was worn out. We're fairly happy with Sunsetter, so we went back to it. There were a lot of choices. The installation went very smoothly. The installers were very professional. We got a motorized, 12-feet wide, 10-feet long, blue model and I'm very impressed with it. It's what we need and it works well. I use it to screen the sun from coming in outside of the house and also for shade when we're outside. I would highly recommend SunSetter Awnings.

SunSetter's rep was professional. We needed more shade and so we purchase an awning. A gentleman and the daughter of the business owner worked hand-in-hand together. And it was only a matter of a couple of hours to put the awning up. It has LED lights, which we liked really much when we put it out. We have additional lights on our patio, and it’s now inside a screen in the night because we added a pool to our property. We use our awning for shade, and we sometimes even use it against rain. But then, we don’t open that all the way because it’s wide.

It was getting to a point where I couldn’t roll up the umbrella very well, and knowing that I have a lot of wind here, an awning is perfect because I can just keep it in until I go out to get in the hot tub. I have a sister-in-law that got a SunSetter awning and she said I'd be really happy with it. So, I started looking into SunSetter. The company is local and they told me straight out about how long it would be to get the awning, and if I was in a hurry, then I'd be sorry. But it takes a while to get it and I was fine with that. I like to be informed instead of saying it was gonna be two weeks and it’d be two months. I'd rather them tell me right upfront that it is a while. I got an electric awning. I like the color combination and it works really well. The installation was fine. I went out to see how they were doing and we found a pinhole. I looked up at the sky and I could see a hole. And so, the installer took a picture of it and said they'd get a new one for me.

An awning is a value added to the property as well as cover from the rain. It is a nice addition if I want to be outside when it is hot out. SunSetter Awnings was the only company approved by my homeowner’s association. I got in touch with their rep, Paul, and in my earliest convenience, we did a walkthrough and an estimate. The color of the awning was also picked by the homeowner’s association but there were three different options. One was a crank manual, the second one was the automatic and the third one was the automatic with a metal protector for the awning when it was rolled up. I opted for the metal one. It was the most practical and did the most for the best price. I thought I was getting a good deal on that.
Paul gave me a date that they were going to do the install. We got it done in the fall and it was slightly delayed but that was all because of this pouring rain and it was understandable. The actual installation was really quick. They came on a Saturday morning but I was not in my house when they came the first time, so the delivery was later on that day because of me but they came back the same day and did it. Then, they installed the lights a couple of weeks later and they didn’t even need me there. It’s working great. A SunSetter awning is worth it.

We picked a brown and green unit and the people who came and installed it were very professional, really nice, and answered the questions that we had. We moved down to Florida about a year ago, and we needed something on one of the sides of the house where the sun comes in in the late afternoon to block out the sun and save energy. The neighbors had used SunSetter and they recommended them. I had spoken to their rep, and I liked him very much when he came out. He was knowledgeable and gave us proper advice. He was also spot on with everything. The team who installed the motorized awning reviewed everything with us. They were also clean and very professional. So far, the awning that we purchased works well. It's done what we've needed it to do, and I have no complaints. I recommend them.

I like to sit outside but the sun in Florida is deadly. I have a patio and I had added an awning to it. I got SunSetter to do it and the sales rep who came out to estimate was in a hurry. It's always like he had too much on his plate. He came in a gray, big, fancy car and he wasn’t the right personality for me. He goes around like he wanted to get something. Everything was fast and I had to make up my mind. While he asked if I wanted the size to be beyond the window, he didn’t realize the sun comes in on three sides. I didn’t realize I needed the extra blockage and he should have realized that I would be happier with it over the window.
I got a motorized and manual awning and I got one that I liked to match. However, it's not low enough or it doesn’t come down far enough to really block the sun so I really can't use it. I face the west so the back faces the west in the afternoon and it's a lot of sun. I also just had a facelift and I'm not supposed to be in the sun so the awning isn’t helping me. The quality of the awning seems good too, although I've only undone it twice and didn’t leave it open very long. I was really happy except for the salesman and I needed an awning that’s adequate. We've never been so disappointed with the amount of money. So now, I'm considering if I could add-on or if they could put up another extension to it.

The crew came through the back for the installation and they didn’t even need to come in the house. They installed it the same day and it didn’t take long. We’re very happy so far with the awning. Since I checked everybody else’s house in the community, I already knew what I wanted and I knew exactly what the awning looked like before the sales representative got here.
The sales rep was not pushy and he was great. Then another guy came right here immediately and two guys put the awning up in about an hour. They were friendly and nice, and everything went well. SunSetter did an excellent job and I'm very satisfied. I got a motorized awning and now, it's really nice and comfortable. We went for the green one. Since we've had it, we’ve made an outside room where we sit and watch television, then also get in our hot tub and watch football and baseball games. It has been great. We put the awning down to keep the sun out of our eyes when we sit on the porch. The SunSetter team was diligent. When they were testing out the awning, the awning automatically retracts itself when they would bring it out. It kept doing that and the installers kept changing things and realigning it. When I bought an awning from SunSetter Awnings, the guy was quick to come out here and get my half upfront. However, it took forever for them to give me the unit. He said it should only be a couple of weeks so I called him back and he told me that the awning was sitting on the dock. Three weeks later, I called him again and he gave me one excuse after another. I stayed right on top of him to get him to come out here and do it and so I wasn't very happy at all. Then, when he installed the unit, he never caulked around the holes that he drilled in my siding.
I have already called him a couple of times about that and he got short with me the last time when he said he wouldn't be making a special trip out here just to do that. He even asked me how rain would get in there, "as if the it blows sideways". Well, I live in Okeechobee, Florida and we have wind all the time that blows sideways. Also, if the rain runs down those four holes in the siding, where is it gonna go as soon as it hits those gaps? It was so bad that SunSetter offered me a discount on a cover. I didn't think I needed it, but now, I think I do because I'm gonna be going all summer and having the unit sit out here in this Florida sun isn't gonna be good for it.

The SunSetter awning is beautiful but the installer was an absolute jerk. He and his partner dragged the awning across my brand-new deck which is a composite material and scratched the heck out of it. When I challenged him on that, he denied it. Because the deck was just built, it didn’t even have any stairs, so nobody could get on it except them. They damaged my deck to the tune of about 78,000 bucks.

Nobody does what SunSetter does. I've been seeing the advertisements on the TV and just thought that a canopy over the garage would be good, and my wife wouldn't have to put up that thing she puts up all the time. It was a comfort for her. The canopy had to be put up, but it seemed the right thing to do. It was pretty cold in the fall when the techs were putting it up. They found out that they couldn't get the remote done and finish the job, that we had to go all winter. We would not use it anyway. But this spring, they came and finished it up. They just did the last part today, and everything should be all right. When they got to the last part of it, there's an automatic thing you can put on it that if the wind is blowing too hard, it automatically rolls up itself. That's a must.
Also, it looks like good material. I'm satisfied with it. I just don't know how long the cloth will last. My wife's sister down in Texas use theirs way more than we'll be using ours because it's a little warmer down there, but it was 20 years before they had to change it. The cost surprised me because I'm retired and my wife is kinda semi-retired, but it's well worth the price. I would have my neighbors put one on.
