How does Stannah Stairlifts work?
With Stannah, you have the option to purchase, rent or rent to own a curved or straight stair lift, depending on your needs. For the most part, the right one for you depends on the shape of your staircase and the weight limit required.
Stannah’s purchase process starts with you getting a quote either online, over the phone or through an in-person consultation. If you decide to buy, Stannah will later install your stair lift for you.
You have the option to purchase directly from Stannah or from one of its authorized dealers. Dealers set their own prices and package options. In some cases, you may come out ahead through a dealer, while buying direct is a better option at other times.
Stannah stair lift models
Stannah offers the following models at the time of publishing:
- The Starla: The Starla is Stannah’s most customizable model — it comes in a range of upholsteries and light or dark wood trim. It also features a call button, which allows you to press a button and have the chair come to you, and safety sensors to keep the chair from running over obstructions or taking off before you’re fully seated.
- The Siena: Stannah designed the Siena with space in mind. This compact model works well in narrow staircases, and its curved seat back helps keep riders comfortable. The armrests are slightly longer than ones in other models for added support, and the seat is also slightly wider. A retractable seat belt fits into the arms of the chair.
- The Sadler: The Sadler model is designed for people with limited flexibility. It’s a stand-up chair meant to be leaned against, so there isn’t as much weight on your back, hips and knees. The seat is height-adjustable for comfort and non-slip for extra safety. It also produces gentle support beneath the cushion when you sit down and straightens your back by tilting up slightly when you stand up.

Stannah Stairlifts cost
Stannah doesn’t publish its prices online, so you’ll have to get a quote from the company for exact pricing. You can get a quote by having a Stannah representative come out to your home, calling the company or answering some questions on Stannah’s website. These quotes include the cost of installation.
Stannah does publish some general pricing info you can use as a guideline, though. According to Stannah, you can expect a straight staircase stair lift to cost anywhere from $3,400 to $5,500, with most purchases in the $3,500 to $5,000 range. Curved staircase stair lifts cost between $8,500 and $14,000.
These prices may be intimidating, but financing options are available. If you only need a stair lift for a limited time, consider a rental.

I'm 83, and I walk 10,000 to 12,000 steps a day with a dog. But at my age, I don't do stairs anymore. I can't walk up and down the stairs without holding on to the railing and going backwards. So, I needed a stairlift. There was an ad for Acorn stairlift, but when I looked online, the Stannah people had the best reviews of any company that I saw. I called them, and I was very impressed by the individual who gave us the bids. He was phenomenal. He knew more about stairlifts in his little finger than I know in my whole body.
The two people who installed the stairlifts were professional, courteous, and clearly knew what they were doing because we've been using the stairlifts ever since they left. They fit the stairwell well and don't take up too much room, so people can still walk up and down the stairs without any problem. I use them to go up and down the stairs, and they're a wonderful addition to my home.

The first contact with Stannah Stairlifts' salesperson that came out to explain everything and the installer were top-notch. Our stairlift is the best thing that we could have got. It gave my husband's independence back, and it gave me peace of mind when I'm not there with him. He can now go up and down the steps. We have a split-level house, so we had to have two installed. He can now get on whatever floor he wants to get on without assistance.

Stannah’s serviceman is here right now fixing the raising portion of the steps. We bought a used version, and they sent the wrong fold-down piece. It wasn't automatic, or it didn't lock in. He had to bring a new one today. James is a great service rep, and Michelle did an excellent job of advising us and telling us about all the options for the product. We've only had the product for less than a week, so I don't have a great feeling about it initially. My wife has Alzheimer's, so some of the control type of needing to do this or that gets confused a little bit. But some practice will get that down.
If I were to make a suggestion, I'd figure out a way for the unit to charge all the way to the bottom so that you didn't have to raise it back up halfway to charge it. Because she has to call it back if it's in the middle, and sometimes that gets confused, or sometimes she takes the remote up the stairs with her. For an Alzheimer's patient, it's a little complicated knowing all the steps. I'd also take the red shut-off button off the top of the left-hand arm because that sometimes gets shut off. When things don't work, she just starts pushing buttons. Then, once that's shut off, then you're dead in the water. If that type of thing was on the side, it would be much less obvious as an option.
But compared to the other units that we looked at, I like the way that the top automatically swings around so that you can get on and off. And we've been very satisfied with it a little bit. However, it does creak or bounce or bump a little bit when it transitions from the main rail onto the movable rail. But what he's doing today will probably stop that type of deal.
Michelle did a phenomenal job in educating us. A couple of the other brands, the salesperson just came in and looked at everything. Then, one company took three weeks to get me an estimate, and then some people just looked at it and then sent you stuff over email, where Michelle sat at the table and showed you videos and answered all the questions. I became an educated consumer with the number of people that I met and could talk about the different products. We had a neighbor of a sister-in-law who has a Stannah product here in Hudson, and he swears by it. That added to the decision-making factor of the deal.
It was a little more expensive than some, but it’s worth the options that you look at in the product. We bought a used model, saved $1,200, recognizing that many of us buy used cars over the years and don't have any problems. And with just two of us, I didn't feel that there was a lot of wear and tear on it, and I know they've all been factory reconditioned. So we're very comfortable saving the $1,200.

I asked one of the other people who were here demoing their product who their nearest competitor was and that group said Stannah Stairlifts. That was a point. I had already read Consumer Reports, which didn't rate them, but listed some of the best ones and Stannah was there. Also, Stannah was within a short driving distance which also made a big difference. I couldn't find anything bad about the product. I met Tony, the salesman, and he was excellent. He answered all my questions. He made a good impression on both my wife and I and I attribute much of the sale to him.
The quality of the machine was impressive. Make sure you have a good salesperson to deal with who can tell you about the product. We have two stairwells and each one has separate stairs as opposed to coming up one and going down the other with a continuous rail. That was important. And coming into the house, you would see this and how he put it on a wall that you wouldn't see. Those were good tips because that's something you don't consider much. Tony did a good job at that.
The weakness that stood out to me was the spelling out in the contract and having a piece of paper. Spelling everything out on one sheet would be valuable and should be part of the presentation. If you're going to come out with a price, come out with it and have it fixed and make sure that the customer understands that it's used or not used. Our rep gave us a brochure and that was good. The brochure could be a little better. Stannah should get more publicity for themselves. That would be important. But the salesperson going out to a customer is super important.
We turned down one group that didn't leave any papers, didn't even leave a brochure. He wrote out the price and everything else, put it back in his briefcase and left. That was a shocker. The guy did a terrible show. His employer called and wanted to know how I felt. I told them I was very disappointed. I told our Stannah rep about that, and he guessed the correct company. So, they do it for others. Another person came in and did a good job, but he didn't finish explaining the price and so forth. Tony was the best and that makes a big difference. Pick someone you feel comfortable with. They're all salespeople and they want you to feel comfortable, but some do a better job at it than others.
The stairlift takes up all the space, but it's a narrow stairway. My wife uses it and she manages it. It's tight at places, but it's okay. My son and wife forced me into getting one and I'm happy with it. It changes a stage in my life that I didn't want to change, but it's okay. It runs well. It seems to be doing okay and working out. The only thing I don't like is the alarm sound. That going off, they had to move things. There should be an adjustment to make it slower or faster. But I like it.

I looked at Stannah Stairlifts, Harmar, and AmeriGlide. I read some reviews, looked at the products. I did a Chat ChatGPT based on the three products, and the Stannah was supposedly the best quality. It was the most expensive. ChatGPT recommended the Harmar because price-wise, my budget was 4,500, and they said you're not gonna get into a Stannah for $4,500. So, I spoke to someone at Stannah, and we talked about a refurbished unit. I decided to go that direction. The Harmar is good, but I didn't like that the manufacturer didn't install it. A local dealer installed the Stannah, and he seemed very good. I said to him, "Please get me a serial number.” He said, "Between six months and two years old.” I said, "Okay, that's fine. That's great. Just do me a favor. Get me a serial number of the unit that you install into my home before you do it.” I wanted to make sure that it's between six months and two years old. But he never got back to me.
He said, "Check out what you have as far as refurbs.” Because he wanted 7,000 for the equivalent Harmar unit to the Stannah. Stannah wanted 7,500 for their brand new one, and it was out of my budget. So 5,000, I got a refurbished unit. The installer guy was here on Monday. He installed the stairlift. He was very prepared, organized, and he did an excellent job. I said to him, "Check out the chair and the carriage.” The carriage is the most important because the motherboard and all the brains of it are in it. He looked at it, said, "It was built in 2011." So, it's 15 years old. I wasn't that happy about that. I called the rep. They installed the one that's here, but they will send me a new carriage and share that is within two years old. So, they're following through.
I got the retractable rail because I needed to. Without a staircase, it would have stuck out into a hallway. I redid the stairs myself many years ago. I ripped off the carpeting. We went to wood stairs. I stained it, polyurethane, custom everything. So, it killed me to have to put screws into my stairs. The retractable rail sticks up not over, but very high in the spindle. Do I love that? No. The Harmar, wit was a wider rail, but not as high. And that retractable unit went straight up in the air. This one folds. I'll get used to it. It works well enough. As far as the look of it, what are you gonna do? I need to get upstairs. They're well-built and do the job. A lot of the design features are nice and makes sense. I like the way it operates. I like the way the chair itself can go up and down.

Everything went very smoothly in my experience with Stannah. My wife's muscles got weak. She couldn't get up the stairs. I had to assist her. And we have not just the normal 12-step, but we got a 15-step stairway. And it was getting tough for her. So, we decided to get a stairlift. My wife googled it and looked at the reviews. She found Stannah, and we called them. Gene, the salesman, came out the next day. He was very helpful and explained everything. We thought it was going to be mounted on the wall, but he said no, it was going to be mounted on the steps, which makes more sense.
If it's down at the bottom, you can get by it easily and walk up the steps. And the chairlift rail is to the right and the handrails to the left as I'm going up the stairs. So, there's room for me to carry the laundry. However, we thought it would at least go up a little further. I was contemplating calling Gene back and asking, "Can we get another little extension added on?" So that it's easier to get past the chair at the top where the post is, if it's the end of the hallway. If we can put it into the corner and get it out of the way, it'll be easier to go around.
The installers were great. Max was one guy, and Kevin. Max was experienced. He had eight years of doing this. Kevin was a newbie. I was impressed on how Max instructed Kevin on why you're doing things, not just do it this way, but he was teaching him why you're doing it this way, when you put the seat on, or when you're anchoring things, or when you're leveling something, and how to get the tool in to tighten the bolt 'cause some things are in the way. He was instructing him on how to be not just a regular installer, but to understand why he was doing things a certain way. Max was an excellent teacher. I'm an engineer. I had a lot of questions for them. And they were eager, answering everything. They were very polite.
They were going to do something one way. I said, "I really don't want the wire tucked under the stairs," like the lip of the stairs, 'cause sometimes it may come out. I don't need anybody tripping. So, we did it at the bottom. We went through the face and down under the stairs. And then in the basement, we wired it to an outlet. He put the extra tubing all around, all the way to the transformer converter for all the low-voltage stuff, so that nothing would damage it. I gave him a suggestion, and he said, "That's a good idea." He was open-minded to that input.
They were here for four hours installing the whole thing, which is what Gene said it would probably take. And Gene said they probably were going to put in posts from the rail to the stairs. But he said he's a salesman, not the installer. When Max came, he said, "I don't like putting a post every five or six steps." He said he’d do three maximum. Instead of four or five, he wound up putting six posts in, which, for me as an engineer, I appreciated. It was one extra post than what Gene was going to do. But it gave it more stability. And the thing does not rock when my wife goes up. I really appreciated the time and the service that they took. I'm glad Stannah didn't do a third-party installation, and they have their own installers. That's a plus.

My husband and I are very much along on years, and we have our exercise equipment in the basement. We have both been hospitalized this year, and we're having a hard time recovering. Going down the stairs, initially was hard for both of us, and it continues to be hard for my husband. We thought it was time to invest in a stairlift. We had a friend who had one and has had it for about three years and was very happy with it. He got a reference from a friend who we know is a great researcher before he buys anything and had researched it. I was hesitant at first because I like everything made in the USA, but Stannah was not. But I filled out something online for more information.
The people at Stannah were persistent. I got emails and a phone call or two, but they were very nice to deal with and made it very easy. I found out that while it's made in the UK, their parts center was right down the road from us here in Franklin, Mass, about an hour and 15 minutes away, and we could get any parts or service very easily from them. The rep did an excellent presentation, was very easy to talk to, not pushy and answered all of our questions. It was all in all an extremely satisfying experience. In this day and age, one doesn't expect prompt service on anything, but everything with Stannah's service was prompt, from when the salesperson came to when the installer came. The installer was very professional, friendly and knowledgeable. He did it in under four hours.
The only thing is my husband has fear of heights, and he had a problem getting on the stairlift for the first several times because it's at the top of our stairs going into the lower level. You're looking down the stairs and the stairlift is not with the back immediately to the stairs, but it's slanted. I ended up buying a grab bar and putting it up so that he has something else to hold on to. The stair landing at the top of the stairs to go down to the lower level isn't huge and there's a door there so there's not huge amounts of room. But putting the grab bar on was really the factor that allowed him to feel like he wasn't going to fall. He's 90, so I had to show him over and over again how I was sitting on the stairlift before he was comfortable. Now he goes down all the time by himself and uses his treadmill. It's been an excellent experience with Stannah and with the stairlift. It's a fair price as well. I would certainly recommend it.

I would not give any stars! The sales rep was more interested in his bonus for the sale than my safety and home operation. His proposal for two sets of stairs would block rooms and the rail would be bolted to floor in front of entrances to each room. Leaving a dangerous tripping situation. The system did have some nice features, but IT would not be feasible. He also took liberties with my charge card and did not confirm deposit for each system. I have to do some construction before installing and this would tie up $1,200 which I need for construction costs no matter whose system I purchased. He didn’t ask and put $2,400 on my card. They charge 25% deposit others only want 10%. It was the next day when I wanted to confirm the systems that it was made clear I would be shut off from two rooms in my home!
I canceled immediately and then had to make several calls to get my card refunded! The sales rep wanted a sale, and had no consideration for my whole home. This is to make it handicap accessible and for MY benefit NOT HIS. I am a senior woman, widow, I feel taken advantage of. Be careful when discussing your accessibility needs! I interviewed 4 companies. One was upfront that I did not have the minimum requirement of space for their system. One suggested I call another company, knowing there were two to check out. I guess he knew that I would not meet their minimum but did not suggest the other.
One company was completely unscrupulous. Did everything on a back of a sheet of paper, started 5x more and then haggled down.. asking how much could you afford? Really sleazy! I do need the systems and am working with the company that came in suggested I call another different one, but will not order until I have the door construction completed so the system can be properly installed. Stannah and Leaf are nightmare companies!

We also want to clarify the deposit. You signed contracts for both stairlifts and provided your credit card information. A $1,200 deposit was processed for each system, totaling $2,400. We understand that there was a misunderstanding regarding the total deposit amount, and we sincerely regret any confusion or frustration this caused you.
The following day, you reached out with additional questions and requested changes to the proposed installation. Our team explained that certain changes could not be made due to safety requirements. You then requested to cancel both orders, which we honored. Both installations were canceled and the full amount was refunded to your credit card the following morning.

Technician fixed the problem in a timely fashion and went above and beyond in cleaning the stairlift and explaining to me how to upkeep maintenance. Answered all my questions to my satisfaction. Showed me what to look for in helping me ascertain where the switch was in order to possibly reinstate code 2. Initially, code was 9.

Stannah’s presentation was pretty straightforward. Whatever questions I had, they were able to give an answer. They showed me the product and the ways and means of acquiring the product, what I would be doing, and whether or not I would be renting or purchasing on hand first. And all of that was explained very thoroughly. They also sent me a brochure, gave me a breakdown, and said exactly what the different plans they had.
This installation was at my mother's home, and I have other family members who were there. I wasn't there personally for that. In hearing from them because I had questions as to whether it was on time and that kind of stuff as well; it was done pretty timely. Instructions were also given to my mother and a caregiver as to how to operate the machinery. That was pretty straightforward as well.

I heard about Stannah at some point and dealing with them has been excellent. The woman came to see the layout and gave me all the information I needed. My husband has Parkinson's and he decided the stairlift would be a good idea. We had the installers come and they installed it in four hours. They were very polite and efficient. The stairlift works and I don't worry about my husband falling down the stairs. We picked Stannah because of the cost. It seems just fine for us.

I purchased a Stannah stairlift for my elderly mom. She can't do the stairs anymore. And she's got dementia and just needed it to get up to the shower and the bedroom. I was reading reviews, and Stannah seemed like they were pretty good. And when they came over, the way they surveyed and how they surveyed, I was kind of impressed. I was happy with what the rep answered. We got the wrap-around curved staircase. They call it a candy cane. There's a wrap-around at the bottom. The installation was smooth as silk. It took them three hours. I’m satisfied with the quality of the stairlift. It's a quality unit. It works pretty well.

My father can't go upstairs anymore and that doesn't work in our house, and Stannah is the name in the game. Everyone was fantastic. The installer on Monday was great. The gentleman that came out and gave me the estimate was absolutely hysterical. Everyone I've talked to on the phone has been very friendly as well. The stairlift is perfect because the house is white with wood floors and we got the white one. Then, the installer suggested the brass rails and I was questioning that, but when it got installed, it looks awesome. It looks like it was intentionally built that way.
My father thinks the stairlift is the greatest thing. He's under the impression that it was already there and we're going to leave it that way. As far as he knows, it's always been there and it was someone else's toy. So, he loves playing with it. He can go up and down without a problem. It wouldn't have happened otherwise. He wouldn't have been able to see his bedroom again. Even if he's up there and didn't put it away and we want to go up, we can adjust it at the bottom and get it to turn backwards.

I wanted something that I could rent and Stannah Stairlifts was the one that came out. I was impressed with what they said. Everything went very well. A reputable person installed the stairlift and explained everything to me. I like it a lot.

Stannah was exceptional in all regards. I did some searches online to review different vendors and manufacturers. I liked Stannah's quality and also the options that were available and the looks. The sales team was very comprehensive and they went through all the options where other vendors just presented the basic model and didn't go into any detail about options. So we had to discover those by ourselves except with Stannah, they were an open book. The installation went very smoothly. They were very professional and very respectful of the home. They were very comprehensive in explaining how the stairlift worked and made sure that all the functions were explained in detail. It was great. We've been using it now for a couple of weeks and it was primarily for my wife and she's thrilled.

Stannah's presentation was excellent. Their rep was very thorough, very knowledgeable, and very attentive. The person who presented it really had a great deal of experience and was able to answer all questions regarding its use and application. So, it was great. Our stairlift is straight up and down. We purposely made a modification to our stairway in consultation with the Stannah representative in order to make it straight and to minimize the cost. It was the most expensive of the other products, but it is excellent. We've invited people to come to our house and look at it if they want to see it.

I had a Stannah Siena installed yesterday - straight stairs. I actually upgraded the day before the installation because I decided I might actually be able to live in the house another 15 years and I wanted the longer warranty (over the refurbished unit that had been recommended by the sales person.) The installation was not a great experience. First, the installers left behind a lot of dirt and debris. (They also tracked in gravel from the driveway on their shoes.) They could at least carry a cordless vac to clean up after them so the older people/disabled people who buy stairlifts don't have to get down on their knees to clean up. Then I got the most minimal instructions on using the device - how to go up and down. If I hadn't asked more questions I wouldn't know that there is an extra key (the one I was about to throw away thinking it was some part of the packing). I wouldn't know about raising and lowering the foot rest or using the power swivel.
What I didn't ask about and still want an answer to is how to turn off the pilot light on the armrest which shines into my bedroom at night. Turning the unit to off just makes it blink which is worse than a steady light. The installers did not leave me with any documentation about the strairlift - no user/operating manual. All I have is the sales contract and warranty I got when I placed my deposit. And they had to run the power cord a several feet around the corner to the nearest outlet. They used wire molding to cover the cord but the job they did is worse than if I had done it myself. Corners are not square, ends don't meet, the ends are left open and plan looks incredibly sloppy. I think it would look far better without the wire molding at all, wires held neatly in place with little clips. One of the technicians asked if I wanted him to mount the remotes on the wall - I did because I was afraid they would get misplaced or broken if left lying on the stairs.
I showed him where I wanted them, in line with the switches on the wall. That's not what I got and now I have to remove them, patch the screw holes and remount them so they line up properly and look intentional and not sloppy. This may seem petty but when you spend over $6K for a straight stairlift you should expect at least "workman like" work. There were 2 installers. One seemed to be in training and the other was apparently the more knowledgeable one, telling the other what to do. He spent a lot of time sitting in the chair while the other guy did the work. Not impressive at all. I can't really pass judgment on the actual stairlift because I have hardly used it yet. I'll come back with an updated review later on.
I think it's 50-50 that I would recommend Stannah right now but that may change as I get to use and understand it. Since there's no way to indicate "maybe" I've selected yes but would definitely give some caveats based on my experience. By the way, the sales person, Paul, was very easy to work with but I wish there were a list of options and prices so I could really know what's available upfront and not be making last minute changes after I read reviews.

I had a terrible time getting information when I called Stannah's main number. Nobody seemed to know anything, and I was promised callbacks that never came. The only way I was able to get a response was by texting my salesman, who was able to get people to call me back. Other than that, the installation was great and the people who did it were very good. They made sure that we knew how to use the stairlift.

The people in this house are very unsteady on their feet and one of them is coming home from a nursing home. My friend had a Stannah stairlift and he liked it and that was why I got it. The representatives at Stannah were excellent. Everything went fine with the installation. I'd rate Stannah a 25.

My wife was having mobility difficulties so we knew we were eventually going to need a stairlift. We started looking at various companies but we had a difficult installation at our house. It's a first-floor-to-basement stairway that we use to get to out to our cars. We don't have a landing at the top of the stairs, so it had to fit in there and allow us to close the doors. I talked to some other companies and with Stannah, and Stannah came and said that their unit would fit in our space so I kept them in mind. We recently had an incident where we needed it. I called them up and, within less than two weeks, they were out and they installed the stairlift. We're very happy with the installation. I love it and it works fine. My wife uses it regularly.

I had contacted several vendors to try and get the best price for the type of stair lift we needed. Stannah came out and gave us a well documented presentation and explained to us the benefits of some of the unique features of their stair lift. Most of the things we were interested in had to do with the safety of getting on and off the stair lift. We bought it on Tuesday and on Thursday it was installed! Incredible service and the installer couldn’t have been nicer. He took the time to educate us on how to use it. We are very pleased with our experience.

I purchased a Stannah Chairlift July 2025. I paid top dollar 15,000 to be exact due to my staircase is curved. I had no problem with this as I am disabled and can no longer go upstairs to my bedroom. It was wonderful at first, however, a few months later my chairlift would not move. I called and explained. They sent a tech out that day. He was very knowledgeable / respectful, saw the chairlift wasn’t working but couldn’t find anything wrong with it. He told me he was going to change the switch just in case.
All was great until 13 months later the same thing happened again. I called, told the woman on the phone the same problem had happened again and I needed someone to come to look at it. A different tech came saw the chairlift was not working but couldn’t find anything wrong with it. He proceeded to put the blame on me stating possibly I might’ve hit one of the safety features with my foot. This is impossible as there is a foot rest for your feet. He checked everything and miraculously it began to move. He told me the service fee would be $230. I refused to pay. He did nothing as he stated there was nothing wrong with it. I told him I wanted to speak to someone in charge before he left. He told me he is not allowed to give out his manager’s cellphone number. I said there has to be someone in charge I can speak to. He said the only person there is their scheduling coordinator.
Needless to say I was extremely upset and refused to pay the service fee until someone calls me. Not a call, email or letter was sent. A few weeks later I received a bill in the mail for the service fee of $230. I have to admit I am very disappointed and surprised with this company as I read such good reviews. So when this happens again am I to keep paying a service fee? In my opinion, this company is only interested in the sale of their product. Still very upset I have no option but to pay this service fee as I don’t want to be put in a collection agency.

Your stairlift was installed in July 2025. Our warranty provides one year of coverage for covered labor costs following installation. When you contacted our Service Department regarding the most recent issue, your stairlift had been installed for more than one year. Before the appointment was scheduled, our Service Department explained the applicable service fee and that the lift was outside of the one-year labor warranty. You agreed to proceed with the service appointment with this understanding.
Regarding the first issue, our service records show that this was a manufacturing issue involving a component that originated from our warehouse. The component was immediately identified and replaced by our technician. Importantly, this issue did not compromise the safety or integrity of your stairlift, as documented in the technician’s service notes.
During your most recent service visit, our technician found that the safety covers had been knocked out of alignment. These covers are connected to safety sensors that are designed to stop the stairlift from operating when they detect a potential obstruction. The technician realigned the covers, and the stairlift began operating again. In this instance, the safety system was functioning as it was designed to do, preventing the lift from moving while the sensors detected a potential obstruction.
We also want to clarify that your concerns were followed up on. Our Service Manager contacted you and spoke with you directly regarding both situations and the concerns surrounding the service visit.
We understand that receiving a service charge after experiencing an issue with a stairlift you depend on can be frustrating. The service fee was applied based on the terms of the warranty, the information provided by our Service Department before the appointment was scheduled, and the findings from the service visit.

I would recommend Stannah Stairlifts highly. They were very accommodating, very professional, from the salesperson, Paul, to the installer call. They answered any questions I had. Also, the installers didn't leave until I understood how to work the stairlift. If I was uncomfortable with something, they came back and adjusted something and it was fine after that. My mother had a stairlift and they were made differently years ago. They were more bulky. This is more streamlined. It's good quality. I can see the difference. Even if somebody had to walk up next to it with the chair up, they can still do that.

A friend had a Stannah stairlift installed. We went with them as well and our experience has been very good. Their customer service has been excellent and the quality of the stairlift is very good as well. It's a straight model and it has the extender on that goes on the bottom. It works well, and we're happy with it.

Stannah was recommended by a good friend who had a stairlift in her house for her mom. I also liked the pricing and how they came and evaluated; it was great. I was very confident in what they did. The sales rep was very personable and knowledgeable. And, when he measured, he wanted to verify that there was enough space for the chairlift. He also called two people who had been working at Stannah longer than him.
The stairlift is very good. The arms on the lift are really designed for up to 300-pound weight. My husband is not 300 pounds. But when he leans, you don't get the feeling that you're going to fall. It’s very stable.

I had two companies that I already had found in local ads, but I wanted to get estimates on at least a couple of companies. I found Stannah online and had them come out. Their rep was the second person that came out and his presentation was outstanding. I decided right at that moment that I was going to cancel the other two appointments. He was really good. I had a page of questions there with me but as he went through everything, he answered them all. He covered everything and was extremely thorough.
The installation was quick and easy. I expected it to take a little longer than it did but it only took a little over two hours. They did it perfectly and it fit perfectly. We have L-shaped steps so it curves at the L and once it gets to the top of the stairs, it makes a turn to get the users off in the sitting area as opposed to the top of the steps. They both like it.

I cannot walk, which made me decide to get a stairlift. I went on the computer, looked at Stannah, and called them. The gentleman who came out was okay and did what he was supposed to do. He explained what I should do, but I didn't write it down so that I would remember. So, I haven't been able to use the stairlift because I can't seem to get it going, and I wasn't sure how to operate it. I just need somebody to go over it with me again. I'm satisfied with the stairlift. It made my stairs have less room, but I expected that.
