Two years after paying $4,000 plus for my chairlift and 3 weeks after my warranty expired my chairlift began stopping. I called for service and was quoted $220 however, when serviceman arrived I was told the price for Suffolk County was $345 plus parts. It was determined that the battery need replacement which would cost another $90. Considering that the battery was only 2 years old, the fact that I am on a fixed income, I feel the cost of more than $440 just to replace the battery is outrageous. I feel that Stannah is taking advantage of elderly, disabled persons and do not recommend them.
Hello Anne,
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We’re truly sorry to hear that you were disappointed and understand how frustrating it can be to face a service issue.
After reviewing our records, your labor warranty expired over a year ago, and your parts warranty had expired prior to your call. Our service team always aims to communicate clearly with out-of-warranty customers about applicable charges, including that parts are billed separately. The service fee you were quoted reflects our standard rate for Suffolk County, which is higher due to regional operating costs. We understand that this can be an unwelcome surprise, and we’re sorry for any confusion.
We genuinely value all of our customers and are committed to providing reliable service and support. We appreciate your feedback and will use it to ensure we continue improving our communication and service experience. If you have any questions or concerns please give us a call at 1-888-680-4073.
Sincerely,The Stannah Team

The Stannah stairlift has been very good. My husband has MS and he uses it to go up and down the stairs. It’s very easy for him to use and he loves it. It’s sturdy and he feels safe. It has a nice color, good quality, and the ride is very smooth and quiet.

I got a stairlift from Stannah for my home because I’m having trouble getting up the stairs, and I can use it now to carry laundry and different things up and down the stairs. I didn't have that option before, I had to throw them down the stairs. I'm completely happy with it. It saved me a lot of stress and pain.
I expected it to be a little sturdier than it is, and it’s not comfortable. If I had an option of a more comfortable chair, I'd take it. But I have issues that not everyone may have.

We needed a stair lift to get my mom up and down the stairs. She's 91. She had a fall. And she wasn't able to move around from upstairs to downstairs in her own home. So, we went with the stair lift as opposed to putting in a second bathroom. We went with Stannah because the woman who came over was very good.
Stairlifts in general, cost about $3,500 for a straight one. Once that bends just a very little bit, which it did for my mother, it's over $14,000. I think that's something that needs to be looked at.
My siblings and I were taking turns staying overnight at her house before. For the first three months, she really couldn't get up and down the stairs. Then with our aid standing behind her with a belt on her, she was able to get up and down the stairs. But now she stays by herself. And the stairlift swings around, so she gets in on it after waking up and takes it downstairs. And she goes back upstairs during the day to use the bathroom. And she jumps on it and goes back upstairs. It has allowed her her freedom to at least remain in the house without us having to be there.

The gentleman who came was able to put it in less than two hours. He showed me how to use it. The stairlift goes straight up, and the noise is tolerable. It has very high quality. I was surprised at the price because I thought it would be more expensive. We’ve been using it ever since and it’s great. I wish I had bought it sooner.

I called in three different companies and I was very impressed with Willis. He checked up on any question I had and kept us informed. He was excellent. The customer service is very good. We have the spiral, so everything was more expensive, but it was competitive. He did the best he could to work out the price so we were satisfied.
We had our stairlift installed last week, and it was installed correctly. So I'm very pleased. The install took three hours for two people. They knew what they were doing. It was excellent. Everything was explained. Everything worked well. My husband had serious problems walking up, losing his balance, and falling. It was dangerous for him to go up the stairs, and he had to go up to sleep. Now, he uses the lift and we're very relieved. So far, we're very happy with it.

I decided to use Stannah because of their reputation, the salesperson, and the quality. The salesperson was very good. He was professional and matter-of-fact. He told me everything I needed to know. The stairlift is very good and sturdy. It's everything that they said it would be and it performs exactly as it is advertised. Everything seems to be exactly the way I need it.

The stairlift has been excellent, and it takes me up the stairs and I’m very happy with that. The quality of installation was excellent. The guy made sure by having us use it while he was still here if we had any questions about it, and made sure that it was stable enough because I weigh 300 pounds. They did a great job for us.

The quality of our Stannah stairlift that curves is excellent. It’s a lot of money and a straight stair would have been cheaper at another location. So in comparison, it was at a fair price. We got one for health reasons. We reached out to Stannah because we heard good things about them and in their literature, it seems that they specialized in the circular and right-angle staircases. The installers said what time they’d arrived which they did within that window. They started assembling stuff and everything went on schedule. They even gave us a lesson how to use it.

My experience with Stannah Stairlifts has been absolutely wonderful. I have no complaints at all. The gentleman that installed the stairlift was great. I don’t know how I can live with this, so I didn’t start sooner. Originally, I put it up mainly for my husband, but I’m using it too.
The reason we use this is that my son-in-law’s sister put a stairlift in her home last year, and I liked the idea. She has a two-story house, which has like 17 steps. In my house, instead of having a wall where it ends that should extend more, it couldn’t be because there’s an entrance to the garage, so it’s done differently.
The stairlift folds up and comes down. It really is incredible. I showed one of my neighbors, and she said how great it looked. I’m very pleased. Everybody was delightful, the salesman and the man that put up the stairlift. I’m very satisfied with it.

The interactions with Stannah during the sales visit was very informative. The salesman was able to answer our questions. It took about five hours to have the stairlift installed. We had a great guy from Stannah install it for us. He made sure we understood how it worked and what the codes on it meant. Afterwards, he cleaned up and was on his way. He was very efficient and the lift has been very useful and easy to use. I recommended Stannah recently to another person I know that needs a stairlift.

My cousin recommended Stannah, he had one installed for his wife. Everybody was terrific. It was a smooth installation, and they cleaned up well. It's for someone else, but I've been using it to test it out, and I have no complaints about it. There's a bump in the middle, it might be where the rails were put together, I’m not sure. But it’s not a big deal right now, and I haven't figured out why there's a bump.

The people who came out were congenial. I said hello and they said hello, and it progressed. They went on with their work and I went on with my work. The stairlift seems to be working okay. Now and again, it creaks. But maybe it's trying to blend into the old house. The house creaks, so sometimes, when I'm riding down the stairs, it's creaking a bit. But I was satisfied. Stannah did what they said they were gonna do and it works.

The Stannah stairlift is great. I liked the reviews of the company, and the people that I dealt with were terrific. They were very responsive. Fortunately, our stairway is wide to begin with, but surprisingly, it's very easy to walk by the stairlift. It's not a very narrow staircase, but it's nice the way that the stairlift folds up. It's very compact. If I have to carry something big up the stairs, then that might be awkward. But it works great and it's very comfortable. It's fair for what it is priced, too. Overall, it’s excellent. I’m very happy and it couldn't be better.

It was getting harder for my wife to get up and down the stairs, and a friend of ours who had installed a couple of different ones told us Stannah was the best. The salesman was very professional, very capable, and the installation technician was excellent. There were two holders for the remote controls that came with screws, and the screws we got had heads on them that protruded into the body of the holder. So, you couldn't put the remote into the holder once you screwed it to the wall. That was really the only problem we had. Everything is working okay.

We needed something quick for my wife, so we made a couple of calls. That’s how we got Stannah. They were delayed a couple of weeks, but I had it in time. My wife is satisfied with it. She’s able to get out now. Without it, she wouldn’t have been able to.
My only problem is that the City of Bayonne doesn’t allow you to go all the way down to the sidewalk, so we had to leave three steps. My wife has a hard time turning and walking down those three steps because she spent 100 days in the hospital. She’s still weak from all of that and walks with a walker.
We were told the stairlift would be up in a week, but it wound up to take quite a bit longer. In fact, one day, they were supposed to deliver it, but it rained so they rescheduled it for a week later. At that time, she wouldn’t have been able to use it anyway. It’s not a big deal. It’s just that they didn’t do what they said.

The sales consultant was great, and I was really impressed with him. And the installation team was very nice and did a great job. We were very happy with them.

I had gone online to research it, and I liked what I saw. I had someone come out, and a representative talked to me about it. I decided to go ahead with it because they were able to explain it in terms that I could understand.
The chair seems to be made well. As far as I can see, the quality fits my needs. It seems to fit in with everything, with the decor and the stairway. They measured me and the stairway, so I'm not having any trouble with it.
The price was in the range of the other stairlifts that I had seen. It’s in the fair to medium price range. I would say to research other stairlifts and have a representative come in and explain it before ordering it.

Stannah was probably the right balance between their reputation for product and its looks. In my experience, everything was fine and great.
The initial sales visit was perfect. I was interested in the product and ready to place an order. And then there was a radio silence. I couldn't hear back or get ahold of the salesman who had left his card and contact information.
After several weeks, I called their main number and asked what was going on. They got back to me and said that the salesman has left the company.
I would have thought that when a salesman leaves a company, people would follow up on his contacts and leads, and there’d be some communication back. Now, I could see a lot of other people would have given up. And that was a little odd.
The second salesman took over. He came in and jumped in, and he was fantastic. He did a great job and was actually very attentive and helpful. There were some good parts. But there were bad parts, too.
During installation, they didn't do it in the proper order. The guy didn't realize it until he had to leave. He said he couldn't do it, he’d have to get back, and we'd hear back in a day or two.
The service department needs a little prod that they need to be better. A week went by, and I heard nothing back. So, I reached out to him. And he had to jump in and take care of things.
Hello Jim,
We appreciate your feedback—it helps us grow and improve the customer experience. We apologize for the miscommunication with your first sales advisor, pleased that the second advisor met all standards.

My parents had a standard stairlift in Europe, which is how I became acquainted with Stannah. I haven’t had my stairlift installed yet because we’re still renovating, but the customer service has been excellent. Michelle came out, took the measurements, and gave me a price. She was diligent and told me that they were going to come back when the renovation was finished.
I wasn’t aware that they had a showroom, but my neighbor told me about it and gave me the phone number. I visited the showroom on my own initiative and found it helpful because I was able to ride one and see the two different seats. The staff there was helpful.
It’s going to cost me almost $14,000 to put in one downstairs where it turns the corner twice. I was going to get one for upstairs, but when I asked about a discount, they said no. They do offer a payment plan, but it’s so expensive now to get that chair, and I think the cost may lead people to find other alternatives. I got my deposit in before a price increase, but the high cost is going to be a deterrent going forward. I would recommend Stannah, but I would also caution people about the expense of the product.

I was told I if I called within 7 days, I would get a full refund (I called day 13). I asked for documentation supporting this, since it is not in my contract. To date, no one has provided documentation where it states I only had 7 days. My Salesperson said "well I told you verbally at time of the sale". Unacceptable. Stannah Stairlifts' salesperson listened and was efficient. It was a good experience. The stairlift works well. We have the bottom extension opens up automatically. When it's down, and the chair is at the bottom of the steps, it sits there and keeps beeping. I understand the reason is it's not charging. It’s a pain in the butt. There's a switch on the back of the chair but the choice is either use the switch, and it breaks and wears out, or you put the chair up where it can charge and you use the mechanism, which also will wear. So, I'm put in a position of having to dispose of the chair at the bottom of the steps.
The other day the extension was partially up. The chair was in the wrong place on the rail. I exercise it until it worked properly. I realized that when the extension is down, there's no electrical connection to it. It relies on the battery. Stannah should look at how to best treat that or tell their customers that they have a battery. They should have a meter on there that tells something about the battery state and ensure that it can stay down for eight hours, or go to sleep and know what it needs to do. A meter that would tell the owner, “You have to get this thing parked.” Otherwise, you have a service call. Other than that, we’re satisfied with how it works.
We have two installations. We have one from the second floor to the first floor and one from the first floor to the basement. The traffic is primarily for the disabled person, my wife. She travels from the living quarters upstairs to the first floor. When she gets down, she has no interest in wanting to try to park the chair part way up the steps. When she does that, the chair is fully deployed. She would have the foot rest down and the arms will be down. That means no one can get past it. The stairs are not especially narrow. They're standard for our class of home. So, there's a little danger in having to fold the chair up if it was parked in the right position.
We have a bunch of automatic features. There’s additional cost if it's controlled by a controller. So, when the seat is at the bottom of the steps, if you had a single button that was a speed dial that says “Park and fold”, you're done with it and it's safe. I find myself taking chances when it's at the top of the steps, because when she gets out of the chair, and let's say that my wife is going into the bedroom and I'm downstairs, the chair is rotated at the top, completely blocking my passage past it to get on to the second-floor landing. I need to lean up and straighten the chair out, lean over to press the button so that the foot rest goes up. And I fold the arms up and stand up. The same thing is true when I'm on the second floor and I need to fold it up.
I called a month ago because I had questions about oil that dripped on the steps. I was explained that it was lubrication from the track that was on the steps. It's urethane on the steps so I was able to wipe the oil off. But that's something that shouldn't happen. I don't know whether the technician used more than necessary, or if it was the lubrication formulation itself. If we had a rug on there, it would not come out. That would be the end of it. The other was that some of the labels were peeling. Like the technician had greasy fingers when he applied the labels. I was told, “You can call us and we can come out and replace them.” It's not necessary to do that yet. I cut off the pieces that were peeling off the stairs itself. In the meantime, all is good.

We were lucky enough to get Tyler as our salesman!! He made this a wonderful experience for my 85 and 88 year old parents who were worried that they may have a hard time understanding everything involved with getting the Stannah chair. Tyler explained every detail of how our chair would operate and what the installation would entail and he also showed us videos which was so helpful. But more than that, Tyler made us feel very comfortable, it was a very personalized experience, it didn't feel rushed at all and Tyler followed up several times to make sure everything was being handled, he was even available on a Sunday when I had a question! Tyler's customer service was absolutely top notch! Alfonso was our installer, he was great, very efficient, very neat, and again, explained everything very clearly and made my parents feel comfortable enough to use the chair immediately.

Purchased a new chair lift 2 years ago. One remote stopped working. I called Stannah and was told cost would be $210 to synch up a new remote. I called again to ask if a new remote could just be mailed to me I was told a new remote would be mailed. After not receiving remote, I called back and was told they don’t mail remotes and I was told because I live in Suffolk county the cost would be $345 even though I gave them my address on the first call. Lousy customer service help answers. I told them someone marked the inside of the battery replacement with a marker only on the remote that no longer works so how can I prove I actually received a new remote or a used remote? Would not recommend them to anyone!
Hello Monica,
Thank you for reaching out and sharing your experience.
After reviewing our records, our technician was able to walk you through troubleshooting the issue with your remote, and it was determined that the batteries had been placed incorrectly. We’re glad we could assist in resolving this over the phone. We also want to clarify that all of our remotes come brand-new from the factory—we do not provide used remotes, and we take quality control very seriously.
We understand that unexpected costs and miscommunications can be frustrating, and we appreciate your patience. If you have any additional concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We’re always here to help!

My chairlift was just installed by Joe and Kevin who had an extensive knowledge of the product. The install was done without incident and seems to work flawlessly. The operation was explained to me thoroughly and was shown what routine maintenance should be done. I highly recommend Stannah as their product and installation team are second to none. I’m not getting any younger, so I decided to put a stairlift in now to make it easier to get things up to the second floor.
The sales visit from Stannah was excellent. The gentleman who came in described exactly what he was gonna do and how long it would take. He gave me several pieces of literature and highlighted things that I needed to pay attention to. He told me it holds up to 250 pounds. When he was done with all that, we went over how to operate it. He was very willing to share all the information he had and seemed to have a lot of experience with people my age. I’m 72, buying a lift to be ready for what’s coming ahead, and he understood that completely.
For me, it is a straight shot down to the landing, but it does bring the chair toward the middle of the staircase. It’s a fairly good-sized staircase, so that does not make any difference. It doesn’t take away from the appearance of the room.
I’ve been pretty satisfied with it and recommended it to several friends. You can sit on the chair and then put the footrest down. It seems very sturdy. I haven’t had any problems with it carrying up a bag of groceries, like cans and soda bottles on top of an 18-bottle rack of water. It takes it right up there with no problem. After taking the dog out, I send her up the stairs, and then bring myself up. It’s great.
I can use the remote to call it down when, sometimes, it’s left upstairs. It’s been very useful even though I really don’t need the chair right now. I certainly am using it, as I just had a hernia repair and had to limit going up the stairs the first week. As I get older, I know I’ll use it more. I’m probably gonna need a knee replacement, and I couldn’t live up here with that, not without that lift.

The salesman with Stannah was good and answered questions. I had another guy, but all he wanted to do was measure and take the order. My wife is having difficulties due to the safety features override every once in a while. Sometimes it works. I don't think Stannah complies with UL standards because it’s made in the UK. They do things different there. It’s not really made for a person to feel comfortable.
Hi Ron,
We’re sorry to hear you’re experiencing an issue with our safety features and your concerns with regulations. At Stannah, your safety and peace of mind are our top priorities. Rest assured, all our products are carefully built and designed to the following safety standards; ASME A18.1 2020, B31, B613, CSA, and UL.

I’m a new amputee and I needed a stairlift, so I went with Stannah because they had a lot of good reviews on the internet. The salesman was wonderful. He gave me a timeline, but then they were able to accommodate me when I ended up needing it even sooner.
The installer was in and out within two hours. He was knowledgeable, pleasant, and friendly, and he walked me through how to use it after it was installed. The stairlift is straight and goes up and down, and I got the swivel option, which I needed. The fit is fine and it blends into the home. I would have just liked it a little cheaper, but overall, the Stannah stairlift is a nice product.

We love our Stannah chairlift. I was very hesitant to buy one, and I've looked at it for years. I finally decided to do it because my daughter-in-law, who lives with me, is getting older and has a lot of trouble with the steps. She loves living upstairs in my house, and with the chairlift, it's easy for her because she can go up and down.
I use it when I go upstairs because I don’t like to run up and down the stairs, but she uses it all the time, and it’s easy to operate. If I have trouble with it, I can just get out the book and read. A couple of times, it's stalled on me, but it's easy to fix. All I have to do is be sure that the number one is showing and it works. Mechanically, it's not difficult for people like me to operate.
I was hesitant to spend the money, but in the end, it's made our life much easier and it doesn't require a lot of technical knowledge to be able to operate it. The young man who put it in was wonderful. He was kind, polite, and very helpful.

I have an elderly tenant living in my condominium, and she had a stairlift in there that was installed by one of her relatives. And I agreed to it because she had difficulty going up and down the stairs. But her original stairlift broke down and they couldn't get it fixed.
I figured that I would do have Stannah installed. If I sell my condominium in the future and if it needs to stay in there because the people want it, then they can have it as part of the sale. Or if they don't want it, we can have it removed before they take it over.
Anyway, it was more for safety of the tenants that I have. I wanted to make sure it worked out so that they are able to navigate the stairs and go up to the bedrooms and down to where the kitchen is. I chose Stannah because I had interviewed a couple of other brands. I think both of them were out of state, so that's the first reason that I wanted to go with Stannah, because it was in the state. Anything that needed repairs, even if it was out of warranty, at least, Stannah is in state and I have access to one of their main offices. If I needed to get something, I'm sure I would get it a lot faster than if it was out of state.
I was also told that Stannah has been in business for quite a number of years. I looked it up online, and indeed, they have. The company originated from England, and so it's been around for a number of years. Their reputation is stalwart. Stannah designs and manufactures their own stairlifts while other are only retailers. Stannah has good warranty. I like their customer service provided, not only when they were installing it, but also from before and after.
Those reasons were largely why I purchased from Stannah. I also felt I was getting as top quality of product as I could get. I felt that if there was something that was wrong with it, they would stand by it. I trusted what I was hearing.

The stairlift was for my 97-year-old mother who came to live with me. She was having a hard time on the stairs and she was looking unsafe. I had previously seen ads for Stannah and another brand on TV, and so I called both companies and got estimates.
Stannah had better reviews, and the fact that it's been in business a long time decided I for me. The prices were similar and it just looked like Stannah was the more reputable one.
We have two landings and turns and we just decided to have the stairlift from landing to landing because she's able to do the two steps when she gets off on it and the two steps when she gets off it. At the top, when she's upstairs, it's a little tight to get by unless I collapse it altogether.
The stairlift is working fine. It's excellent. At first, she didn't even want to try it. It took her a week to get used to it. Now she likes it. It gives her more independence. She's able to go up and down with ease and she's not afraid of it anymore.

I acquired the lift for my uncle. I was researching various lift companies, and I chose Stannah because it had the most flexible offering. I didn’t know if he was going to be able to stay home or not, so I wanted to be able to lease it, not buy it. The lease was what I needed, and it was very accessible.
My uncle has mobility issues in general, but he really liked being able to go upstairs because his bathroom is upstairs. Overall, I think he liked the product. He was able to navigate it on his own, though he had a tough time with the footpad that comes down. He couldn’t always move his legs out, so the pad would get stuck on his ankle and go back up. He also couldn’t lean forward to see that his feet weren’t on it, which made the footpad more of a hindrance than a help. He could have used something that just went down no matter what, so he could place his feet on it easily.
The way the lift turned at the top of the stairs was just at the very top and didn’t go into the landing. It turned him onto the landing, but when he was facing forward, he was still very close to the stairs, which was a little intimidating for him because he wasn’t at a safe point. Otherwise, he did fine navigating it, getting in and out of it. He rode it a few times by himself and was starting to feel confident.
He fell several times within a week, not entirely on the lift but in various places throughout the home. With the fall, he was kind of scared of it. In the three weeks he was home, he only used the lift about 10 times. He was nervous to do it on his own and didn’t wear a seatbelt, even though his physical therapist had told him to.
I think the lift is great. If he had more strength and more hands-on help within the home, it could have been great. It could have given him more independence within his home. It gave him hope that he could stay home, but it also sealed the reality for him that he probably is not going to get to go home.

During the installation, the guy was not here for long, and he worked quickly. He did a good job. However, my husband feels that the straight up and down stairlift doesn’t go fast enough when it’s going up. Coming down, it’s fine.
The company said that, at one time, it might have gone faster. But they lowered it because of some things that might have happened. And then when we get halfway up it, there’s this little bump that happens. And we also had them here about that, and they adjusted it a little. I'm 80 years old and I have RA. I can totally live downstairs, but I wanna be able to go upstairs and I have a craft room up there. I need a curved stairlift and needed it specially-made one because of the two curves. I had somebody from Bruno and Stannah come out. I was pleased with both of the representatives who came out for a quote and to measure. They were both knowledgeable.
I couldn't go to the Bruno showroom in December. I also couldn't try them because they had changed their location. They didn't even have their location set up and they said probably mid-January. I thought I’ll just gonna go over and see Stannah. They did have another room where they had some other ones, but it was Bruno’s older model. After visiting Stannah, I decided to go with them mostly because if you have a problem, they could hopefully come to you within 24 or 48 hours. Stannah’s showroom and their facility are within a half an hour from me in Franklin, Massachusetts, and they've been there for 30 years.
When the Stannah stairlift was installed, I couldn't stand looking at the chain. It is so ugly. I can have the chain taken out in seven days, but my kids said, "Mom, you're not gonna have it taken ou." I said, "They said they would do it in seven days. They're the only company that does it." I made an appointment at Bruno and went out to see them and tried it, but their chair was not as good. The seatbelt on the Stannah was very easy on my arthritic hands, and Bruno's is more like a seat belt in a car, so it's not as easy. You have to really be careful when releasing it. On some days, if my hands aren't good, it'll be more problematic. So I decided that I would go with the Stannah and keep the chain that I don't like looking at, but I've gotten used to it.
With Stannah, when you look at the pictures, it looks good. But when you actually go in, it is a lot chunkier. It looks like one big bar and is actually a lot bigger. It wasn't as attractive as it looked in the picture, too. But the Stannah chair is very comfortable and the seat belt is extremely user-friendly. The two men who installed were absolutely wonderful and answered all kinds of questions. They took the time. I said, "Could I just go up once more to make sure I've got everything right?" They said, "Sure. We want you to be happy." I was very pleased with the outcome.
Others should try the Stannah stairlift and see if they like it. I have one neighbor who does want to look at it, but when I told her the cost, she went, "Ugh." The Stannah stairlift is a couple of thousand dollars less than Bruno’s, but if the Bruno seat had been the same one, I probably would have paid the $2,000 more because it did look a little bit better. The price is terrible for both of them, but a stairlift is a stairlift. When you get to my age, you really don't want to acknowledge that you need one. But going forward, I'm only gonna get older, so I'm probably gonna need it more. All in all, I would recommend Stannah.

I had decided to go ahead with the stairlift and the woman came out to measure. When she came out, I wasn't home, so I had a friend over.
The woman then contacted me in the hospital so I could put a deposit down. It's a curved staircase and she told me it would go on one side. But when they got the measurements, they said it couldn't go on that side because of the risk of a head strike. I understood, but was disappointed. Other than that, everything went fine. It had to be custom-made for the stairway and that took close to eight weeks. Installation took a couple of hours. There were two guys here who did it, and it went very smoothly. The Stannah stairlift is a total life saver. Michele came to do the sales visit a few months ago and she was very patient, thorough, and super likable. That visit went great. She was gonna send me a document we had to submit to my parents’ PCP to save on the sales tax, and we never got those documents. There was no follow-up, months went by, life happened, and we just let it go. We had some accidents happen with my parents, and I reached out to her again, told her we were interested in the lift, and she sent me the documents. She responded right away the second time. But if she had followed up quicker the first time, she might have been able to get us to purchase earlier. But we ended up purchasing anyway ‘cause her visit was really good. The installer was great and the stairlift is amazing. We have the one that's retractable on the bottom and it's excellent. The way it's put together is well thought out in terms of safety.
There are some things that we struggle with a little bit. When my dad comes up late at night, it beeps really loud the whole time it's coming up, and it wakes up the whole house. So, if there was a way to turn down the volume for whoever's coming up at midnight, that would be awesome. On the lefthand armrest where the emergency switches are, there's a light there, and I totally get that it’s a safety precaution. But it's the same problem because that light is so bright that it shines into all of our rooms. So, if there was a way that we could shut it off when we're done using it, that would be great. Every now and then, we hear a tapping sound as it passes, like somebody is tapping on the window, and the seat isn’t very sturdy. My parents don't have very good balance, so they spill into the seat, it shakes a lot and I worry that they could break it. And the reason I haven’t reached out is I pay $200 each time they send someone out. But the stairlift works fine.

Their pricing was also comparable to the other brands, but Stannah had quicker availability, which was the deciding factor.
We installed two lifts: one for the basement to the first floor, and another one for the first floor to second floor. It helped get my mother-in-law up and down the stairs. We can also use it to help us bring up groceries. When not in use, we leave it downstairs, so it is out of anybody's way. However, it keeps beeping when it's downstairs until we move it. I know there's a way to turn off the beeping, but it's a pain. It would have been nice if there was an automatic button when pressed and does not have to be held the whole time. Maybe that's a safety issue. Otherwise, it works very well. We feel very comfortable with it.

I've been wanting to call someone because there are three little glitches about in the middle of the ascent and descent. I think there's something a little bit out of alignment where the two rails meet each other. There's three little glitches I can feel when I use it. I bought it primarily for my wife, but now that it's here, I'm finding that I use it quite often.
I like it because I don't trip going downstairs. I have no problem going upstairs. At my age, going downstairs is a little bit tenuous.
The installation team was fine, but I didn't notice the glitches until well after they left. Now I try to use it and it's not quite right. Lately, I almost fell three times on those stairs, so I said, "I better start using this." So that's been recent and that's when I noticed the little glitches.

I was researching a few different companies but I had to get my mom’s opinion ‘cause it’s her house. She thought Stannah was the best so she decided to go with them. The salespeople are very nice and weren’t too pushy. They were polite, nice and caring.
We got the up and down stairlift indoors and they fit great. There’s plenty of room for other people to go up and down the stairs. But my mother can’t use it. She has PLS and she’s beyond being able to use it. She decided to do this for me right before Christmas because I was having a hard time getting up and down 16 stairs. I have spinal stenosis and the pain is extreme. I was so upset, I wouldn’t be able to get downstairs for the holidays.
I like that it folds up. You feel so secure and you don’t have to worry about the steps. I would definitely recommend them. Jose, the guy who put that in, worked quickly and quietly. My son and his girlfriend work nights and they were sleeping up here. They didn’t even hear anything. He was so patient and kind explaining to me how to use the stairlift. He was a really wonderful person. In terms of pricing, they seem to be the most reliable company. In case something went wrong, all that's included in the price.

We purchased a stairlift so a family member can go up the stairs since he can no longer do that. I had checked the price with another company and went with Stannah. The sales visit was good, as well as the installation. We have a curved stairlift and I love everything about it. It can get him safely up the stairs. He has the automatic swivel and I like that one about it. Life is so much better. He's back in his own room upstairs and he's so much happier.
I have one issue where the bottom curve railing is chipping. I called their rep and he was very helpful in handling that. They’re working on it. If you need assistance to go up the stairs and there's a risk of falling, there's nothing better than Stannah.

My husband and I are elderly and our mobility is compromised, so we wanted to have a stairlift. During the sales visit, the gentleman explained the different features of the Stannah stairlift. I had a number of questions, and he answered all of them. He was able to show me on his laptop the different models of Stannah, and he also pointed out to me some of the features that the Stannah has that some of the other chairs that I had previewed did not have. And that was the clincher, when he pointed out some of the things that I wanted that the others didn’t have.
I got a straight one, and the gentlemen who came to install it did the jobe quickly and efficiently. The installation was very straightforward, and after he installed it, he went over it with us explaining the functionality of it and how to operate it. He had a little booklet that he showed us too.
However, when I was doing my research, some of the chairs go a little faster than Stannah. So, I wish mine was a little faster than it is. Also, the website is not so good. It needs to be improved because I was trying to see things on the website that I wasn’t able to see. I ended up having to call the sales rep. Still, I’m very happy with the quality of it and my favorite feature is the ergonomic arm. It’s very convenient having it and I don’t have to climb those stairs all the time.

I needed something that would automatically fold and Stannah was the only one that had that. The other other thing was the color. I liked the style of the railing. It was a little expensive because the other people were giving me at least $1,000 less. But I had to do what I had to do.
The initial sales visit was good and very professional. The person was very helpful in guiding me in what I needed because I needed it urgently, and I was able to get it done quickly. On the installation, the gentleman was very nice, very neat, and clean. It took not too long and he did not leave any mess. It was perfectly fine.
I did have some issue with the stairlift. The folding part was not working and I called them. They said that they couldn't come out until later. Meanwhile, I was able to manually adjust it. But unfortunately, I have to get it taken out because it was for my husband and he passed away. I'm gonna get it taken out and leave it in the basement because I believe that I cannot return it or get my money back. That aside, the stairlift is really good.
Thank you for your feedback. We're pleased to hear that the installation process went smoothly and that our team provided professional service when you needed it. We apologize for the issue you encountered with the folding feature, your feedback is invaluable in helping us improve our products and services.
If there's anything we can do to assist with the removal or any other needs, please feel free to reach out.

My mom is recently diagnosed with brain cancer. She had a tumor removed, and she's been doing chemo and radiation therapy. She's very weak and has a hard time walking upstairs. And right now, her bedroom is on the second floor. So, we needed something to make it a little easier to transport her upstairs being that my dad is almost 80 himself. It was becoming too difficult on him at night when they're alone, and early morning, to bring her up and down before I got to the house. So, I did some calling around, and I came across Stannah. They were the only company that did come to the house to do the evaluation on the stairs, and my parents felt more comfortable that they were more personable. They came and made the effort to evaluate the stairs and take the time to speak with them directly. We found that they were on the Better Business Bureau, and my mom felt more comfortable using them.
Installation went very well. The technician that came out to install is great. We found out he was from the area later on, and my parents connected with him on that. He did an awesome job. He took his time to explain everything including all the codes that may occur to my dad, so in their eyes, that was amazing. They're older, so they like when people take the time to explain stuff to them. Overall, we had an amazing experience. We would recommend the company. There was a miscommunication regarding the rental payment, and the person I dealt with was quite unpleasant, which made the situation more distressing during an already difficult time.

We chose Stannah because they offered a great rental plan with an option to purchase, where the rental fees contribute towards the buying price if we decide to keep it longer. This flexibility is fantastic, and their services have been excellent. The presentation was clear, and Tony, the representative, was very helpful, answering my few questions. I was worried about fitting the lift in our stairwell with a landing, but he explained everything clearly and showed us how the setup would work. We opted for a straight model since they don't rent curved ones, which are custom-made.
The standout feature for me is the ease of use. There are remotes on both ends of the staircase, and the device operates smoothly and quietly, contrary to what I expected. There’s also a battery for emergency use during power outages. They gave us clear instructions and a printout for this, which is reassuring. Stannah's support has been remarkable. Our stairway consists of 15 stairs, not the usual 12 or 13, and they aren't particularly wide. However, the stairlift seat folds down neatly, leaving enough room for someone to walk alongside. Even folded up, the stair is easy to navigate. The representative had visited us before, so this time, we just had to order the product. Installation was straightforward and hassle-free. My favorite feature is the remote control, which allows us to move the stairlift for various purposes without any issues. In terms of quality, I find the Stannah Stairlift excellent. I've already recommended it to friends, and my brother went on to purchase one too.

We recently installed a stairlift from Stannah for my mom, based on a recommendation from one of her nurses, who had a positive experience with the company. Before making our decision, we researched various reviews and aging council articles. The personal referral was what really convinced us to go with Stannah. My parents had a great conversation with the Stannah salesperson, which helped answer all their questions.
The stairlift is of high quality, and my daughter enjoys using it as well. However, we have a minor issue with the chair obstructing the staircase when parked at the top. My mom has to swivel the chair to exit onto the landing, which leaves it blocking the stairs. It would be helpful if there were a button on the side for someone outside the chair to turn it, as this could be a safety concern if emergency personnel need to reach her quickly.
On a lighter note, the stairlift makes a noise as it moves, so my mom can't sneak up on us, which we find amusing. Overall, we're satisfied with our experience with Stannah's stairlift and would rate it 5 stars.

I purchased a stairlift from Stannah because my husband has difficulty walking, and I am incredibly satisfied with it. A friend of mine recommended Stannah to me because she had a positive experience with them as well.
During the initial sales visit, the representative who came to our home was very informative and professional. She provided us with a pamphlet, explained all the features, and took measurements of our stairs. About two weeks later, the installation was completed, and everything went smoothly. The installer did a wonderful job, and there have been no issues since.
I chose the straight stairlift, and my favorite feature is that it safely transports my husband up the stairs. Having this stairlift has been life-changing for us, as it allows us to remain in our home without the need to move due to mobility constraints.
Overall, I am very happy with the professionalism and treatment we received from Stannah. I have already recommended their service to another friend of mine and would gladly recommend them to others as well.

However, it operates smoothly, and I couldn't be happier with its performance. The most significant benefit is that it allows me to easily access the upstairs bedroom, essential for my daily routine. Before having this stairlift, I wouldn't have been able to manage the stairs on my own. It's truly been a life-changer, enabling me to maintain my independence at home.

I purchased stairlifts from Stannah because they promised a quick installation, almost the same week. Although we had to remove part of a wall from our stairway, the process was smooth. As soon as we were ready, Stannah accommodated us quickly, coming out the next day to install the stairlifts. Their sales visit was professional; they took precise measurements of my wife and me sitting in a chair, as well as the stairs themselves. We realized part of the wall had to be removed to ensure safe and comfortable use of the lift. My son helped with this, and after a few days, he also installed a railing for added safety.
The installation day with Stannah was slightly longer than expected. They initially mentioned it would take about an hour per lift, but each one took around four hours. Despite this, the technician was neat and left everything clean. He walked us through how to use the stairlifts effectively. Both stairlifts were installed on the same day, which was convenient. If a friend or family member were to ask about my experience with Stannah, I'd gladly give a glowing recommendation.

Unfortunately, I have to reach out to Stannah myself for any updates as they have not proactively communicated with me. They have now informed me that the installation will occur on the 16th, as the product is being delivered from the UK.

But I have tried to contact them to send me a receipt and I haven't gotten the receipt that I paid for it.
Also, in this day and age, it's a little pricey. I also only have seven stairs and the rep said, "It didn't matter if you had seven or if you had 100. It's gonna be the same price." I think the scale could be a little bit better. I also don't like that you have to hold it until it completely goes down and you have to hold it till it completely goes up. I liked that the Stannah Stairlift was quieter than most stairlifts and they had a special where you would give them so much money and you had five months to pay it off. It also seemed to be a lot better. The gear mechanism was behind the unit instead of in the front. My experience with their sales rep was very good. The gentleman who came here was very knowledgeable. We took a ride to their office in Franklin to try one out. For the width of the stairs, it's good. The stairlift itself is ideal in size. The only disadvantage is if you wanted to walk downstairs, you couldn't walk downstairs. If you had to go down the cellar, you had to use the stairlift because there was not enough room for your body to go past it. What they should do is they should add enough room where it can go around the corner. But other than that, we're very happy with it. It’s very sturdy for the money.

A lovely young lady came out and we bought a Stannah stairlift. It was wonderful. She was so pleasant and accommodating, and everything was nice. We wanted to buy it from Stannah in the first place. The only reason we were considering Acorn is because they deliver in seven days. I'm dying for this because I'm the one who is having trouble walking up and down the stairs. And six weeks is a long time to wait. The price of Stannah is also better.

The Stannah stairlift rep was knowledgeable, efficient and polite. He offered me their services and everything was fine in my experience so far.

We're having a stairlift installed for an apartment over a garage that was constructed six years ago. I talked to a couple different companies, and I did not like the design of the Acorn product or the reviews on their customer service. It was the classic "once it's in and they got your money, good luck if you have a problem." There was an awful lot of bad reviews on the Acorn. We also looked at Bruno. The twin tube design of the Stannah struck me as being structurally more rigid and safer.
The fact that the Stannah unit comes standard with a powered footrest was also attractive to us, because when we went down to the showroom and put my mother-in-law on the stairlift, we initially attempted to use it without folding the footrest up or down. I just left it up and let her feet dangle, but then her feet would hit each stair as she was going up. With a powered footrest, all she has to do is hit a button versus bending over to put down the footrest. The product's very good, and thus far, my experience has been fine. The salesman was very good too. We purchased the stairlift and we're just waiting for it to arrive. The peace of mind of not worrying so much about my in-laws falling down a flight of stairs is a huge thing. I can't put a value on that.

The visit with the Stannah rep was great. He had all the information and we worked everything out the first time. It was good. The installation seemed to go smoothly and everybody learned how to use the chair. It's at my dad's house and I set it up. He said that it's working great for him. He's 87. The experience was really good and I would recommend Stannah.

I was very impressed with the sales rep that I talked to. There was no heavy sales pitch. Michelle gave me the price, and as I explained to her, I had another person come in to give us a estimate, and it was like buying a used car. The price point went down thousands of dollars each time she spoke. But Michelle gave us an estimate that was within the range of what we thought it should be. She also showed me what the stairlift does. It folds up and it looks like a nice seat. She showed me pictures and videos of how it worked. It wasn't a long, drawn out process. She was straight to the point. We never make a decision the first day and when I called her back the next day, I had some questions that came up after she left, and she was able to answer all my questions.

The sales representative was very, very good with the way he spoke, and he knew a lot about the company. I was supposed to have the stairlift installed, but the person became sick last week, and I haven't received a word from anybody else about having it installed again.

Stannah Stairlifts' rep was informative. We’ve only had the stairlift for less than a week. So far, so good. It gives mobility to my husband and my mother-in-law. I could use it.

My father has been hospitalized on and off all summer and went between two rehab centers. His mobility has suffered tremendously and we needed to get him up and down the stairs, especially to go to multiple doctor's appointments. Tony, the rep from Stannah, came out on the initial visit. He came on a little strong and he apologized. He was concerned that we weren't gonna be able to get the stairlift in but we worked it out and things went fine between me and Tony after that. I signed the paperwork. When I took the picture and texted it over, he had somebody out there.
Eric came out within a week and he was very nice. He showed us how to use the stairlift and was knowledgeable. He ran into a snag because it rained so he had to come back. But he was able to get the stairlift done 15 minutes before we needed it. He had a couple of questions because the track was shorter than what he thought. But it worked out better to our advantage. Everything went good. We can get my dad up and down and I like the swivel seat on the stairlift. The experience was not as difficult as I thought, as I venture it was. We got it all taken care of and the stairlift looks decent on the house.

We had other estimates, and we preferred Stannah Stairlifts' professionalism. The guy was very patient and understanding. Explained the details to my parents, and explained to me. Took time, followed through, made sure was there anything. Called before they came. Gave a video. The installers were professional and timely. Took the time to explain. Never rushed it. Made sure we were clear and understood about it. I recommended Stannah to other people.
