    I wanted to upgrade my alarm system and I trust Steve, the salesman. In fact, I would refer others to him. My interactions with Slomin's people were all good too, and Walter, the installer, was terrific. Slomin's and my old system are like night and day. Aside from having older technology, my other system had very bad service as well and I feel better now that I have the Slomin's alarm system.

    I had ADT beforehand and I did not like their service. I found Slomin's and they're great. I'm very happy with them. The sales reps' knowledge of their product was very high. The last guy who came to my house to install the new unit was very nice and helpful. The guy told me that the camera was good and everything, and then one of my friends told me that they had Slomin's and they told me not to do it. So the guy was trying to sell me the camera, but I just wasn’t in for it.

    The equipment is amazing and I love it. However, I was a little pissed because I had ADT and they took over ADT’s old equipment. They did a cheap job when I first got the system. I called up and I was like, “Look, I’ve been with you guys for so long. I’m paying all this money every month for an alarm system that technically, you just slapped Slomin's Shield’s name on it. That technically is ADT’s system. You guys didn’t change anything.” And they were like “Oh, sir we’re so sorry. How can we accommodate you?” And I was like, “I wanna cancel." And they were like, “Sir, how would you feel if we brought in a new system for you free of charge?” I was like, “That sounds great. You guys gotta work with me here. I’m not trying to get anything for free. I don’t want nothing for free. I pay for what I pay for. I just wanna get what I pay for, that’s all.” They came right in and they did what they had to do. Once in a while, you just have to raise your voice a little bit.

    I looked around for home security companies and the other people that I called couldn’t provide what Slomin’s did. I used ADT in Texas and Slomin's is 100% better. I talked to them over the phone and they were professional. Slomin's cared about what I wanted and what I needed the home security system for, and they provided the services that I wanted. The only bad thing was that the guy who came to the house thought we could put a camera in front of our garage and it would cover everything. But when the installer came to put it in, he said it wouldn't work. The actual camera that they installed does not look very well through the screen. But that aside, the cameras still do what they need to do. The installation went very well and the guy was very nice. I was thankful that he knew what he was doing.

    The smartphone features are a little difficult to navigate though. At one point, my husband wasn't getting the notifications anymore. It used to vibrate and tell him that there was somebody at the door or there was movement so he can look at his phone. But it stopped doing that all of a sudden so I had to go on his phone and figure it out. He could’ve gotten an update and he needed to redo something. But we got it working again. That is what he wanted the system for. He leaves early in the morning and leaves me home alone so he’s happier with Slomin's. The system is a good fit and we love it. And as long as the price stays the way it is, I think it’s great. I recommended Slomin's to my mom and dad. They are not satisfied with ADT but unfortunately, they’re in Michigan and Slomin’s isn’t there.

    We’ve been a customer of Slomin's at our New York residence for about 15 years. We started out as an oil client of theirs. We purchased in-home heating oil, and then when they started their alarm division, we implemented doing a package deal with oil and alarm for our New York address. Since then, we’ve had nothing but great service from them so what we did was we continued to utilize their alarm services for our businesses in New York when we had them, and again in West Palm Beach, Florida. And then more recently with the purchase of our new home in West Palm Beach, Florida, we once again acquired their home security service for that.

    The guys come in and they’re very attentive to what our needs are. And from that conversation to the installers when they come, they’re very well-educated in what we not want and need. We weren’t even at our home in West Palm Beach but everything was done to detail as far as what we requested. The West Palm house was a pretty big property. It was 8600 square feet. It took them four days to do the install because they had to get a little creative. The home had a pre-existing alarm system so they took over that alarm system but then they had to implement some close circuit cameras into the home so they had to run those wires and do them in a way that they were not noticeable to the naked eye without damaging the walls. There were four installers on the property, they definitely took their time and they did a tremendous job.

    Right now, the home has alarm and the cameras with motion detectors and they work great. We’ve been getting a lot of thunderstorms down in the West Palm Beach market and those motion detectors are extremely sensitive so whenever there’s lightning, it sends an alert notification to me saying that there’s motion but it’s really just the lightning. You just log on to the app then tap one button and it disables the motion detector and then you just go back on and enable it again when you're ready.

    The equipment has gone a lot better over the years. We have a camera system in our New York home and it’s a little more antiquated compared to this system in the West Palm Beach property. The cameras are high definition and they’re easy to enlarge and manage. Whereas the New York, you pretty much just get what you get just because the system is a little more antiquated.

    We currently have the New York house up for sale so there are real-estate folks going in and out showing the home. And the great thing is we’re obviously not home when the folks are roaming through the home and checking it out. But with the security system, we’re able to monitor them and the activity. Also, whenever we had an issue with either an alarm or our home heating service in New York, we made a phone call and they were always there within an hour or two hours at the latest, depending on the weather, and they were able to fix any issues we had. And then there was one time we had a question about billing and it was resolved immediately. There was no passing of the buck around. They're really easy to work with.

    We just bought a new house and we wanna be protected. We’re in a pretty safe area, but most of the people out here have alarms. I was getting bombarded by ADT with flyers and emails and all kinds of stuff. And I talked to some neighbors up here that have ADT and they said, “They’ll help you and assist you, and the price was this. And then when you come there, they sell you all this stuff." So I said, “You know what, I’m gonna do my own research”. And I knew the name Slomin's from commercials from years ago.

    And then one day, a guy came trying to sell me oil from Slomin's. And I said, “Don’t you do alarms?” So then, I called them and they came. They told me upfront what all the costs were gonna be. The guy who came here knew has family in the neighborhood and was a very nice man. He knew exactly what he was doing. He came around 4:00 o’clock and he was done by 5:30. He talked to me about the process and how the company was developing. He sent me everything I needed to know by email right away. Tutorials, instructions for the app, etcetera, and it was done.

    And then even then, for some reason my debit card didn't work. They said, “Oh, we could take electronic checks”. I waited for the money to come out but it didn't. Finally, I just got a bill from them. I was like, “Wow, they did all that? They didn't even have my money”. They said I was good for it. But I was waiting and everything for them to take the money out of my account and I was like, “No they didn’t” and then I finally called them and they said “You got a bill in the mail”. And that day the bill came.

    Their reviews were very good. And not just here, in other places that I’ve actually been, the ADT people were hit or miss. I have a neighbor across the street whose house is half the size of mine, and she paid $700. It was ridiculous. I was like, “Who does that? Who tries to rip you off like that?” And I didn’t get any of that. Nobody came and tried to sell me anything.

    The installer was very professional. He told me exactly what he was going to do. Also, he was very polite. I offered him a drink, water juice, anything. He took water. He was very knowledgeable and he told me about the development, how it’s going to this and that, and that you could use your app. He didn’t make a mess and unnecessary holes.

    I feel very safe here. My family leaves at 7:00 o’clock in the morning to go to school and I work. I’m home by myself with the dog and she’s really small. And I feel like if they set in when they’re the last one to leave, at least I can sleep and I don't have to worry about if I’m being disrupted or if somebody’s coming to the door. People should know that there are other options besides ADT. Slomin's should advertise more because their services is much better than what ADT proposed that they offer. Do the research and consider Slomin's. It was one of the easiest things that we did in our move. For peace of mind, it was a breeze.

    Have a problem with one of my sensors. I was asked to change the battery. I did and this didn't work. they tell me they can send a service guy in two weeks. I have to wait two weeks to get this fixed? What is the purpose of having a security system if I can't get this corrected in a timely fashion? I called several times to see if they have something sooner and was told that they can add me to a cancellation list and get back to me. Then I can be placed on a date next week but can't tell me a timeframe. They also do not provide service on weekends. If it wasn't that I signed their "5 YEAR CONTRACT" I would have canceled it and went with another company. I haven't even been with them a full year with them yet so I'm stuck. Do me a favor and go with another company that won't keep you under a contract and do not make you wait such a long time to fix your system! Ridiculous.

    I was told they could not use my ATT digital life system. I got a whole new system. I was promised professional installation. Not only is the camera a smaller view than ATT, they said I wouldn't see wires, I had 3" of wire and now I have 20 feet! The windows, they neglected to say they would be important had to add them on later at more expense. They did a horrible install they put the magnet right on the glass!

    Slomin's Alarm Systems is amazing and ten times better than ADT, price-wise. They are all around better. I previously had ADT and got false alarm after false alarm. In addition, Slomin's customer service is great. Their reaction time is amazing. Our salesman, Faviano, was sure on everything and told us everything we needed to know. And as far as the tech goes, he was amazing too. Other than that, they charge way less than I thought you they would charge and when it comes to alerting us for any potential emergency issues, which happened only one time, when my wife accidentally opened the door early.     I am an existing customer for Slomin's Alarm and I've re-opted for another five years. The sales rep was great and he was the same guy from five years ago. He came in and explained everything to us, and he was nice. He brought the system up and then the installer came when he said he was gonna come. He did the work, he explained to me what he was doing, and he put in the takeover switch. He kept us informed, showed us how to use the system, and cleaned up. He was phenomenal. Now, I have the control panels and I gotta get used to pushing a few more. In the other place, you just push one button when you leave or one button when you go to sleep at night. The world is turning into button pushers. Other than that, the quality of the Slomin's security equipment itself is good so far. Also, the cost was great.     We have had a home security system running for quite some time from Slomin's, and we upgraded to wireless. The representatives were very good. I emailed them and then they got right back to me. I sent them an email saying, "Can I get this free upgrade?", and they said, "Sure." The installers did great, too. They came a week ahead of schedule and I said, "Oh sure." It took them about an hour and the transition went very smoothly. Also, I needed a new sign because every time I have winter here, it destroys it. They just give me a new one right away. Slomin's is reliable. The cost is also very good in relation to the quality. We use the smartphone features even before, and our sense of security has been much better than when we did not have the security system. I definitely recommend them.

    All the people I’ve dealt with in the 2 Weeks since my alarm has been installed have been courteous and very professional. Since the alarm had been installed I’ve had nothing but false alarms so the system is non functioning. It also takes Slomins more than a few days to send a tech to resolve the problem. They sent 2 different techs twice now. The problem is not corrected. I am now waiting for the third tech to come today. Very disappointed in the whole experience. Hence the 2 star rating.

    My experience with this company it is annoying. Why did the technician make sure that monitor was set for the dog. The dog is a small that weights about 22lb. The whole time of vacation your company was call about the alarm was going off from the living room monitor. This morning just left my home and your company is calling about the monitor in the living room. I'm very upset about that. Had to turn around go back home making I late for work.

    I've had the old Slomin's Alarm system 24 years and now I have upgraded to their wireless system. Everybody was great and the sales rep who came out has explained everything and knows the prices. We set up the appointment for when I needed it, and it was great. The installer/repair guy came and it was wonderful. He was the best. I'm still getting used to the wireless system but he explained it rather very well and I'm able to take care of it. I've had bad experience in the past with Slomin's but now, both the salesman and the installer were excellent. Also, the cost in relation to the quality of the Slomin's system is much better than 20 or 15 years ago. When I had a problem, they did not help and they were not customer service friendly. Now, it's very much about a good experience and that the customer is satisfied. Plus, I feel more secure since it's an updated system and it tells me which zone is going off.

    I was due to get a new alarm company as my previous contract was up. Slomins gave me a better price than the other ones. I compared it with two other companies but there wasn’t much in the difference. My daughter is also a customer of Slomins and she recommended it to me so I gave Slomins the contract. Their representatives were good. They did what they said they would do and I was satisfied. They were nice people to talk to.

    The installation was okay and the features in my system are all right. Slomins gave me a full guarantee of everything that was there. I still have to get in contact with them. There were a couple of items that they were only able to complete because the weather was so bad. And I couldn’t operate a few of my windows. They gave a work order to call up when the weather improves which didn’t happen yet. Slomins is satisfactory with their services for me and their company is okay. I am happy with them so far. When it was recommended by somebody as close as my daughter, I presume I did the right thing.

    Slomins contacted me less than 2 hours after posting this review. They apologized for the bad service I received the night before and stated I was given the incorrect information. My husband spoke with the man who called and he said the guy was very genuine and nice. The man said Slomins rep should have went over troubleshooting and also gave the wrong price (only $60). They offered to credit my account (which went through instantly) and even offered to come check my system free of charge. They are scheduled to come out Wednesday. I am satisfied with the apology and the willingness to rectify the situation.

    We have had Slomins Alarm system since we moved in (almost 4 years ago). I have never been late on a bill - my account is in good standing. I have never called them about an issue and my alarm has never gone off (knock on wood). Anyway, I switched out a door last night and the alarm sensor said it was "tampered" with. So my husband played around with it for about 10 minutes and couldn't fix it. We called Slomins who quickly alerted us we would be charged $79/hour PLUS $60 to replace the sensor. Wait... what? I hung up. What aggravated me the most is while we were on hold I googled a solution (for the tamper switch) that worked. My husband was able to fix it in less than 2 minutes.

    So let's talk about the product - the app is okay and the alarm sensors are not top of the line. My mom had a delay in her motion sensor during an actual break-in and it looks like our motion sensor also has a delay. But it's $30 bucks a month and we are stuck with it for another year or so. We can only hope for the best until we get new service. They don't offer current customers anything (discounts, upgrades) at all. Now let's get into customer service. I NEVER thought I would see the day where I would honestly say I found a company who has worse Customer Service than Comcast.

    Where they went wrong: You don't automatically try to charge a customer $140+ without saying things like "Did you try this?" Google was more helpful than the "customer service" woman. Also, when you are on contract with a customer that has never been late on a bill and whose contract is coming to an end, you say things like "thanks for being a loyal customer for four years. We do have to charge you for the tech, but we will throw in the sensor if it's broke (which it wasn't)." This lady offered zero solutions and was very quick to try to charge us. So let's be real - if I am paying money every month for you to monitor your equipment - I do expect you to be at least 50% responsible for equipment failure/upkeep. Take for example my arch nemesis Comcast - they charge you for a tech to come out, but I have never been charged for equipment.

    My insurance company gave me a discount for the home security system and the house I just bought already had a security system in it. One of Slomin's Alarm Systems’ salespeople were doing door-to-door and it turned out that the alarm system I had was one of theirs. But I didn't get a phone line, so I couldn't get it turned back on. I had to get a whole new system done. I was gonna call whoever the system already was on the wall and it turned out it was them anyway. The sales rep was awesome and her boss, the guy who drives her around with the other people, was really cool too. They both came in and explained everything to me great. They were awesome and perfect. The installation was also perfect and the crew was really nice and explained everything to me. He had commission putting it in and we had to change where the box was located, which was fine.

    I just got the smoke alarm and the door sensors and the only other thing I would want to eventually get is garage door sensors and a sensor for my shed. So far, the quality of the security equipment has been awesome. The cost was not bad at all and it's worth it. Everybody at Slomin's was great and I already told two people to go with them.

    Security was a requirement and I needed it for my office. The salesman from Slomins was in the area and he came by. He was personal and so we decided to switch from SafeTouch and go with Slomins. He walked through the book with me and showed me how the system operates. He gave me a tutorial on the video by using his phone and the system that he had installed in his home. His explanation was in detail. Plus, with the system that he had installed, I saw the system at work so, it was more of a visual.

    The installation of their system was quick and professional. The installer did an excellent job and I didn’t have to stop my operations in order to accommodate him. He worked around my schedule. He asked me what I was actually looking for, then he compared to what I had already installed, and then he upgraded it. The system was a phone line and we went from a phone line to wireless. We added a camera at the house so that even if we’re away, we can look inside the home. And the cost was comparable. It wasn’t that much difference. But the features were greater and the wireless system was greater than going with the actual phone line. So if we get a line cut with the actual phone line, we still got the wireless. That was a safety feature that I like. I’m well-satisfied with the quality of their equipment.

    I feel very much more secure than I was before. If people want to go wireless, they should go with Slomins. It’s much more or no less than the system that they already have. Plus, the keypad was upgraded from the keypad I have. I referred a Slomins to a friend who was looking for a system and told him how I recommend Slomins because of the personal experience that I had and catching the details that they gave me.

    There are bad people out there and they wanna take your stuff so I figured Slomin's would be the best bet for a home security. Their guy knocked on my door and he was good. He explained everything well and we signed up from there. He's a veteran and so am I so we pretty much assimilated well. The one who did the installation was really cool too. He was really nice, informative of how everything works and he did everything quickly. Everything went smoothly. The only problem I got was I downloaded the app to look at the cameras through my phone but I couldn't hook them up. I was using the app and it’s a little buggy and not too smooth. But my wife has the smartphone features on her phone and it works pretty well on there.

    Other than that, the cameras are pretty cool and the motion sensors are all we need so in case anybody breaks in or someone breaks a window, I have some video footages of it at least for insurance purposes. I'm a cop and I already have my gun but with the security system, if someone comes into my house I kind of get a little update before they get through the door. And for the live feed cameras 24/7 and 47 bucks a month, that's not too bad. If anyone asks about Slomin's, I would tell them that I referred them so I'd get a discount on my next bill.

    We've always had Slomin's Alarm Systems and it has been close to 20 years now. We just upgraded it about two weeks ago and the salesman was great although we were a little disappointed in how we had to pay for some upgrades. They said they work on a point system. We had a certain amount of points and we had to pay for one of the windows that was already on because it's the new way with the WI-FI. I thought an upgrade after that amount of years would be an upgrade. Plus after we had the whole thing put in, my husband saw an advertisement on TV for the cameras installed for free so we were a little disappointed. It may have been a promotion that happened a week after they were at my house though. I would just advise others to make sure that they get everything that should be offered to them.

    The installation for the upgrade went fine. But I was told one thing and they did another. The salesman told us that we no longer needed the sensor. Because we’re upstairs and we had the two windows that you’d be able to get up on something to get in on. He said when we arm the house, it was just a matter of arming it away or arming it at home. Then I asked what about the equipment that’s here. I was told they would be removed but they weren’t. The installer say that they don’t remove the equipment unless we really need them to. I asked why and he said that it would leave us a little hole in the whole where the sensor was. I understood that, but why not take off the wire around the window? That is visible.

    That aside, the system is good and it works. But if you're arming and you're going to be home, you put alarm home, which means you can still walk around whereas if you're arming when you're away, it sets off the windows that are on and when the door opens, the alarm will go off if you don't set it off in time. But when you’re home and you open the door by accident, it's going to go off. Or if someone comes in, it's also going to go off. That feature's very good and other than that, I’ve been happy with Slomin's. The cost is also good and I definitely feel much better about our security since having the system.

    I've had the security system for 20 years and I decided to upgrade it with Slomin's. But I signed my contact on March the 6th and the installation was not scheduled until 20-something. The sales consultant, Anthony, was a very personable young man, and I had an excellent experience with him. I felt well-informed and very reassured. He also made himself available, so I felt totally confident in the decision that I made and in what I was anticipating in terms of the upgrade.

    Anthony put the order in the paperwork but when we were trying to schedule the upgrade, he told me that they do it Monday to Friday. I have a lot of work and I commute. It is at least an hour back and forth everyday and I get back home in the evening relatively late, so I'm not available on weekdays. But he said the technicians are not available on Saturday so I scheduled it for the next weekday that I was going to be available, which was the 26th. Anthony couldn't give me the specific time frame though. He told me to call customer service and that they should be able to give me more information in terms of a time frame.

    Somebody from customer service called and told me that they had a cancellation that day. They asked me if they could come but it was a weekday. I told them that I was not available on weekdays. Coincidentally, I had been trying to get some information regarding an approximate time frame for when they'll come in on my scheduled day but they told me I had to call back. And then I got another call from them saying that all of a sudden, they were doing a special project and that someone was available on Saturday. It was annoying because I had asked about a Saturday to begin with and I was told Saturday was not available. Also, it was a coincidence that on that particular Saturday, I had to work. I went one Saturday a month and had I known that they would available that Saturday, I could have done a Saturday before or the Saturday after. But it was a Friday and they were asking if I would be available that Saturday.

    At that point, I was so frustrated too because I couldn’t get a concrete answer on a ballpark time frame. They were making me want to go ahead and install Comcast instead. The young lady I spoke to that day did not appreciate that and she said, "Well, do you want me to put it on hold?" I thought she meant put it on hold for me to call back and ask if there could be some arrangement made to come on a Saturday so I told her, “You do whatever it is you need to do.” But maybe there was a miscommunication and she cancelled my appointment.

    When I called back again to confirm, I thought that surely they could tell me on a Friday if they were going to come that Monday because previously, they kept telling me the appointment was too far out for them to give me a time frame. But the girl told me they had nothing scheduled then she asked me if I wanted to schedule on that day. It was ridiculous. I then started telling her about what happened with the lady before who cancelled the appointment. But then she kept telling me, "Well ma'am, we can't reschedule your appointment until you've consulted with Comcast." What did Comcast even have to do with Slomin's?

    I was told me that they couldn’t do this and they couldn’t do that. So I had to ask for the supervisor several times but the supervisor never called me back. The representative spoke to the supervisor though, and she called me back to say that the schedule had been confirmed and I was back on for the 26th. The only question I asked was if they could provide me a ballpark time frame. I had a doctor's appointment on that day at 11:00 in the morning. She went back to her supervisor, called me back and said that they would be here in the afternoon at 3:00.

    Matt was at my door at 2:59, on time and ready to go. But my appointment had been canceled and rescheduled a couple of times that when Matt came, some of the information wasn't present on my order for the key fob. I remembered specifically that I had discussed it with Anthony and I said, “Let me just give Anthony a call.” What I really appreciated about Anthony was the fact that he had taken the time and the consideration to review my order, knowing that my installation was scheduled for that day. He had caught the mistake and he had already corrected it by the time I called. He had really been over and beyond.

    He told me the supervisor that he had spoken to and Matt confirmed that the person was his supervisor. Matt had to get the go from his supervisor but he had already been contacted by Anthony over the slow transition as well. Matt was very efficient and personable, as well as polite. He explained everything thoroughly and I didn't feel like I have to stand over him. Everything was figured out and the upgrade was installed. The system is for security's sake particularly because most of the time I'm here by myself. So I got the habit of arming it at night when I go to bed. Before, I never really did that. Now, I'm more consistent. The touchscreen display makes things easier.

    Before, the problem that I had when I armed it at night was that I would always forget when I'm running out of the house in the morning and the alarm will go off. Now, with the way the display screen is shown, I see it when I go down the stairs. I’m more cognitive of it so there is less of a possibility of me tripping the alarm myself as I run out the door. The wireless system is much better for me, and I’m using more of the functions than I did before. It’s easy to use and I'm very pleased with it.

    So the problem and the headache that I had dealing with Slomin’s had nothing to do with the sales consultant or Matt. They were both excellent. The problem I had was with the customer service. In fact, I had another experience with Slomin’s and it's always with the customer service. When I switched to DirecTV two years ago, I debated whether or not I was going to retain Slomin’s or switch to someone else particularly because I wanted to get a wireless system. I had a key fob and that key fob was not as nice as the little ones that they have now. I had maintenance insurance on my account and I called Slomin’s when the key fob broke. But the guy I spoke to said the insurance doesn’t cover it and that it would be a hundred dollars. That really pissed me off because I had been a customer of Slomin’s all that time and they were tripping over a key fob. So that very day, I called to terminate the service.

    They transferred me to somebody, which may have been the customer retention, and he said the key fob was not a problem. He sent me two key fobs just like that, with the instructions how to program them. There was no subsequent problem from that point. I had a negative experience with customer service then when I got transferred to someone else, the issue got resolved. So Slomin’s need to really work on their customer service. I even submitted a review that the service was the worst. After that, I got a phone call from a customer service manager. He gave me credit on my bill for me to consider doing a sub-review and say that they did make every effort to make it right. I appreciated that and accepted it.

    Cable and internet companies have different specials and I’ve changed companies over the years. But I didn’t want to do that with my security company. Comcast was cheaper than Slomin’s. But I made the decision to stay with Slomin’s and pay a little more to have the continuity. I'm happy with the cost, considering the quality of their system. Also, I had ADT before I had Slomin's and I was very dissatisfied with them. That is the reason I’ve had Slomin's as long as I have. I’ve had them for eight years now and I would recommend them to others.

    Absolutely awful customer service and oil delivery service. Took us weeks to get contract with the correct price we were promised. We told them exactly where our oil fill was and yet every delivery person just left saying they couldn't find it (clearly they didn't even walk around the property then because it is extremely visible). We switched back to Petro, even though it was more money because I would rather not deal with these sleazy company anymore. They write in their contracts that even though your contract runs out, they will keep delivering.

    That is fine and we were aware BUT we were told (and it was stated on our online account) that our next delivery was 1/30/18 and we had until then to decide if we wanted to cancel our contract. They showed up unannounced on 1/22/18 and filled my tank (finally they found my oil fill without a problem, ironically)...charged me $1 more per gallon than market price and way more than the rates they offered me if I renewed my contract. I called to complain, spoke to a manager and he only threatened to send me to collections if I don't pay the astronomical price per gallon immediately. I have spent the past 4 weeks trying to get an invoice because since I canceled my account I cannot get the statements online and they refused to mail one to me. PAY MORE MONEY AND USE SOMEONE ELSE!!!

    I had extended my contract for 5 years last month. Tech couldn’t finish job since he didn’t have the equipment with him. Took three weeks to get another appt. They work banking hrs. Monday to Friday 8:30-4:30. No weekends. For working family no accommodations after working hrs or weekends. It’s impossible to take 3-4 hrs window to accommodate them when I’m paying for services they supposed to provide consumers. Now I have zone issue and they cannot come after business hrs to troubleshoot. Very disappointing. When asked to speak to supervisor they replied “he’s going to say the same thing what I just heard”. Really.

    The sales rep was knowledgeable and was very helpful. On the day of the installation, the tech was great. Though we did have a slight issue with the age of the system being upgraded in my home he was able to use the system and perform the upgrade. The new system is so much easier to use than the previous system in place. The only thing was in the planning of the system itself, since when we are home we have to make sure we do not enter one part of the home at night since there is only a motion detector in that room. To get the system 100% we will need several windows and a door to have its own sensor. Other than that service was great, system is great. We highly recommend Slomins.

The motion detection coverage does not seem to be enough protection for my new home (as promised on the phone) and both technicians had different opinions about where the motion detector should be placed which leaves me to believe the coverage is not perfect.     The installation was a great experience. The installer was a total gentleman. Very professional. But the company itself... not so much. I am disappointed. We were told when we signed the contract, that it is a 2 (FULL) day installation. We.were giving 1/18/18 and 19. I took the 18th off from work. My wife took the 19th. I waited all day, the guy didnt come until almost 430pm. He was in and out in a few hours... lost a day's pay for 3 hours? If I was told it would be in the evening I could have went to work. 

    I was then told by the installer there was no second date set. I was falsely told about the 19th by the salesman. My wife took off the day without pay for no reason. We lost 2 days pay for a 3 hour installation. Now one of us has to take another day off for the second installation day on the 26th. I find this outrageous. Your company is off to a bad start with us. If I would have known this is how you treat customers I would have went with another company. As of now I will NOT recommended Slomins to any friends or family.

    We're satisfied with the system that we got from Slomin's Alarm Systems. It's good. There were two reasons I went for it. First, the house we bought was pre-wired for them. They already had the wiring in place for the sensors. If we went with another company, they would have to redo the whole thing. Second, with Slomin's, you could add features and update the keypads and make your house a smart home. You could download an app and arm your alarm when you're away and check on it. It was a modern way of having an alarm and we liked it.

    We lived in a gated community before and we were used to that feeling of security. We wanted added security for our detached home since we're new to owning one. Having Slomin's system made all the difference. Now, we feel that as long as the system is on, we can sleep easy at night. Slomin's is a good company. They stand by their products and they were very responsive. I would recommend them.

    I tried to be understanding due to arctic weather but now I'm livid. Slomins came to my home 3 times to service heat/hot water problem. The boiler kept shutting down a few hours after the mechanic left. We did everything they instructed us to do via phone and had to endure close to a week without consistent heat/hot water. Earlier today, the pipe burst due to Slomins negligence of not putting our service as top priority. We had so much water flooding a recently remodeled kitchen. Thank God, our builder's got to home and cut off water valve. They provided fans to dry our kitchen and loaned us a few portable heaters. We had to call in a plumber to fix the pipe and it wasn't cheap. I have children and they could not go to school because of this situation. The whole family is cold, uncomfortable & have health issues.

    Customer service tells us, "I'm sorry", "You are on the list", "We will get to you soon", "We cannot give a time frame" etc. Our oil was very low and Slomins was supposed to automatically fill tank up but got to us late. The boiler shut off and I called in for service on Saturday at noon. Meanwhile, my family and I are cold with no hot water for days. Shame on Slomins for piss poor service & charging outrageous fees! Update: No hot water/heat, Day 4, Tuesday, January 9, 2018 from a service call placed on Saturday at 12 noon.

    We’ve had Slomin's Alarm Systems since 2001 and we upgraded the system my mom had in the house. We had put Slomin’s in our condo in New Jersey and we liked the service we got so we stayed with it. Sales and customer service were great until the alarm broke. Recently, I called for a service call for them to come and fix it. The alarm hasn’t been working for the last 10 days and that really scares the crap out of me. I have to wait 14 days for them to come and fix it. Their repair system needs to be updated a little. It's a little ridiculous that you've got to wait that long for a repair.

    The installers were very nice and very good. They got everything we needed to get done. We had two systems in the house and they had originally scheduled two different sales installers to come and install it on the same day so they coordinated it so the one gentleman did everything. He knew what was going on and it all worked out very well.

    The installation went very well. I tried calling a couple of times regarding Slomin's smartphone features. They tried getting it to work and every time when we tried to do it, nothing seemed to work. I gave up on it for the time being because there's too much other stuff going on right now. Slomin’s system works very well. We've set it off a couple of times with all the construction going on. They call so fast you don’t have time to finish putting your PIN in to turn it off and they're on the phone calling. Their response time is very good. They've been very good to us over the years. The system works very well and I would recommend Slomin's to somebody else.

    Two days ago my son was home and he heard a banging noise from the boiler, and he call Slomins. They told him what to do, and today which is Saturday: in the morning I had no heat, no hot water, so I call Slomins: spoke to someone and she guide me over the phone and everything was fine, but in the afternoon the boiler start banging and the whole house smell gas.     We had another company before Slomin's and I had an open ticket with them for over six months. They never got a technician out here to fix my alarm system, so I cancelled and looked for somebody else. I heard Slomin's on the radio so I called them. I had Slomin's years ago when I first moved in to my home and I switched out because I was putting new windows and siding. At that time, we weren’t wireless so it was going to cost over $1100 for me to have my windows redone and I didn’t have that money. I had to find somebody else and a couple of months later, another company came in and they were wireless.

    Slomin's is definitely a well-reputed company, and they have been in business for a very long time. The representative and installer were professional, the process was easy, and the price is fair and good.     Their home security technology is old. The keypad is huge. The sensors are constantly going out. Low battery all the time. They have awful response time. Alarm goes off accidentally and they don't even call to see if there was an issue. Boiler went out and I have 2 young kids. They won't give me an estimated arrival time other than within 24 hours. Now I have to go get a hotel room bc I can't wait any longer as house temp drops quickly. Worst company I have ever dealt with on Long Island. Customer service reps are useless.     Technician was very good. Showed up on time. We had issues with the camera as it seems that DSL wifi did not always cut it. It took longer than expected to get the camera to work. We were disappointed that we could not have the alarm programmed so that certain motion detectors stayed active and others deactivated in Stay mode. This makes arming the system for Stay mode more complicated. Customer support is excellent. We have been customers for 15+ years and 100% satisfied with the service outside of these few small issues.

    I have been a customer of Slomin's Alarm Systems for eight years. A rep was going house to house in my neighborhood and he came in and we spoke. I liked what he had to say, so I decided to take the system, the initial one. And then I did an update several months ago. What happened was, I changed my internet, TV and phone provider. I went from Verizon to Optimum. And once I made the change, my phone system no longer worked in sync with the Slomin's system. Besides, with the old system, whenever Verizon would cut the phone line for repair, the alarm would go off in the middle of the night and it used to be a problem. They called and asked what was up. I told them the problem was a false alarm because the phone line has been cut. We resolved it really quick. It turns out, the problem wasn't Slomin's. It was Verizon.

    When I had the update, I called and I told them that I was entitled to an upgrade. So they did. I scheduled it and the service came and installed the system. The installation was done by the same gentleman who was here the first time. And in both cases, he did an excellent job. He's very patient with us since my wife and I are older and we're not tech savvy. He took plenty of time and showed us how to use the system, including remote arming and disarming. He also made sure the app was up to date. So far, I've been very happy with it since they did the upgrade. And now that the new system does not rely on the phone line, the false alarms no longer happens. In addition, I feel the monthly cost is still reasonable. Though it is $4 more than the old system, it's still around $35 a month. I know that my neighbor has ADT and he's paying a lot more than I am for pretty much the same service. Overall, I do recommend Slomin's Alarm Systems to my friends.

    I got a home security system as a deterrent and to minimize break-ins. I had Slomins at my other building so I got them again and the installation was very simple. It took an hour to do. It’s wireless so there’s not much labor involved. I’ve had two technicians so far for this installation. And both of them have been good. The one that came today has been the best. Everything’s been good with their customer service as well. And the cost is excellent. Over the years they have risen in price, and then I call them and they put it back to where I was. Customer satisfaction is A-plus with them.

    Compared to my older system, it’s finicky like all wireless systems are. The motion detectors are not so great but that’s industry standard. Everything else is good so far. I use the smartphone features all the time and I like that a lot. Slomins makes me feel better that there is something in place to deter someone to enter the premises. I highly recommend them.

    We were moving into a trailer in a sketchy neighborhood and I started googling alarm companies. I like Slomins friendliness and good customer service, and their rates were decent compared to some of the other alarm companies I’ve talked to. The installation was very easy, but it helped that I’m tech savvy, too. I feel a lot safer since having Slomins Alarm Systems. Although I can’t put myself in a burglar’s shoes because I wouldn’t do that, I would think that a burglar breaking into a house with an alarm would run as soon as the alarm’s set. So I feel like I’m more protected because of the alarm.

    The Slomins team sent me a letter a few days ago with a form that I need to fill out to send to my sheriff’s department to register the device. Without that form, if the alarm goes off, the police aren’t going to come. They’re also going to fine me for not having the form filled out. And I don’t know why Slomins waited three months to send it, but I’m glad nothing happened in the last three months where I would’ve needed the police. But that was the only downside. It was a satisfactory experience, overall.

    We moved into a home with existing Slomin equipment and so we decided to call a rep in and activate service. A technician came to check if all sensors are working and to reprogram the unit with our information and walked away ensuring us that all Is well. From the day we started using it (today is 5th day), the amount of time my husband and I have invested to figure out the faulty system which constantly activates the false alarms and police visits has been unacceptable. Customer service was not helpful at all either.

    Finally, I got fed up yesterday and told the associate that I want to cancel the service as I am not able to use it. He told me I cannot as I am bound by contract. But I told him that the contract is 2 ways- I am bound by the service that Slomins provides and if service is not provided, I am not bound by it. I repeatedly asked to speak to his manager and he did not connect me and finally he said he would ask his manager to call me. This was yesterday, Wednesday, Nov 22, around 230 PM EST. The current time is Thurs, Nov 23, 9:45 AM. No calls from anyone and faulty alarm system I am not able to use.

    The Slomin's salesperson I spoke with was very professional. I was given the courtesy hold and the rep did some things and got back on the phone in a timely manner. Slomin's was early when they showed up and they beat me to the house. Everything went with ease. The installer asked the pertinent questions that he needed. I knew what I was talking about so I was able to show him to make his job a little easier. I had to leave him in the house for a minute for a thing, but I gave him my cellphone number in case anything went wrong. Everything went fine and I loved him. He was great, nice, courteous, knowledgeable and friendly. I have the key fob and if I forget it I can always look at the app and see that the system is armed.

    I have a security storm door and I could always lock it from the inside but I never had the key since I bought the home, so I had a new one. Now I can take a trip and have that sense of security. I'm going to get a call or a text or somebody's monitoring my home and there's an extra sense of security where I don't worry. I even take the key fob upstairs at night so in case something happens, I'd be able to hit it and somebody will be able to help me. Slomin's system is a great piece.     I have used this company for a few years when for the first time I needed a repair man they were not accommodating at all. I expressed I worked 12 hours a day.     During the time I had the Slomin's Shield alarm service I was satisfied with the company's service. I had to discontinue the service because it requires a landline and I, like much of the USA, transitioned to a cell phone as my primary phone. When I discontinue the service, Slomin's Shield did not offer to disconnect the hardware. This didn't seem a problem at the time but it has become a major problem since. Over time, the system has broken down and now seems to only draw power from the battery. When the battery is low, the system starts beeping. When I contacted Slomin's Shield the first time, their solution was to recommend I purchase another battery and install it. They would not resolve the power issue or shut the hardware down.

    I made a recent call after another incident where the alarm went off in the middle of the night. They informed me that they cannot do anything for me without a contract. The customer service representative did inform me of two power sources I would have to disconnect. But my system seems to be rigged in an unorthodox manner. There are wires out in the open that I am simply not prepared to mess around with. So now I have an unreliable alarm that will go off on rare occasions and I must continue to buy batteries for the power supply or pay for an electrician to come out. My conclusion: The service is good right up until you stop it, then you are left to deal with an aging (potentially malfunctioning) system and zero accountability for it, from Slomin's Shield.

    Had salesman come over. There were two people came. They told me all about alarm and it all sounded good. After install the key pad never had the right weather. It says 12 degrees every day. The install man did not have stickers for the windows. So I called the salesman three times. Every time he said no problem. To this day I do not have them. Finally I called office again and some girl told me she would send out five. That's the most she could do. I called the office at least five time of the keypad not working right with weather. The salesman selling point was I was getting a weather read out every day and that sold me on buying it and not the other company. Today is August 29 and if not working by end of month you will have to take system out. The install man blamed the Hicksville office and the Hicksville office said it was the install man. The whole experience sucks. Wish I never bought it.

    My experience with the new alarm system has been nothing but disappointing. We are Slomins customers for 11 years. We were told that we were getting a new free alarm system and never disclosed that there was a contract or additional fees to get the remote app. Our billing has been messed up. I've had to call customer service three times and now the fourth. Our new alarm was installed and a home phone does not work and no one has showed up to fix it. We were never trained properly on the new alarm system. And when we asked for the new camera the indoor camera that supposed to be free we were also never told that there is additional monthly fees with that as well.

    We were not 100% certain that we wanted an alarm system. We had a limited budget left as this is a new home we are just completing and funds are minimal at best. A Slomins rep came out and after going over everything with him, the equipment we would need, the costs for this equipment, we decided to go ahead with it. This despite the fact that we really didn't have the extra funds to do it but we thought our family's security was worth trying to make this work.

    However the rep provided inaccurate info and the system he has sold us is unusable/worthless to us. He sold us a motion sensor system. We have two (2) 100 pound dogs and three (3) cats. We can't arm the system when we leave unless we take all of our animals with us every time we leave our home. I advised Slomins within days of the installation that the system was worthless to us. We were then away for two weeks. Upon our return, I again began my attempts to get this resolved.

    In addition and even more disturbing than the fiasco with the system, We were billed twice!!! And then Slomins had the audacity to us we may have to wait 10 days to get our money back that they collected twice almost a month ago. And this is only the money which we were overcharged. They have still not even addressed what we are going to do with this worthless system and the money we spent on that!

    I am a business owner. If I operated my business the way Slomins has handled this, I'd be out of business. You can't tell me that there is no one at Slomins who has the authority to issue a refund now??? If Slomins has a conscience and/or an ounce of ethical morals they would owe up to THEIR mistake and refund us our money and take back the worthless equipment we had installed in our home. I will absorb the cost to repair the holes in the walls where all of their equipment was installed. Come on Slomins - Just be fair and honorable.

    As far as security, we’re not really out in a bad area. The way my house is set up, I can be home and nobody would know it, and I’ve lived like that for 30 years. But my husband works across the way and there was a disgruntled person over there. We have a lot of expensive stuff and I have a lot of guns, and we didn’t need him sneaking over here and getting in to anything, and this led us to put the alarm system in. I called a couple of alarm system providers, but their prices were astronomical and their reps were very pushy. So, I went online to find the security provider that was supposedly the best one out there at the moment. Slomin's Alarm Systems was further down from that company and I’ve not heard really great things about ADT in my area, but I decided to give Slomin's a try.

    I went on the website and called Slomin's, and the girl I talked to was real nice, and I set up an appointment for the sales person to come in. But the only issue I had was that Slomin's advertised a certain amount on the website, but once the sales guy got there, the price was totally different. I hate it when companies do that and that made me a little leery in the very beginning. But he was such a nice salesman and he said that he was really sorry, and I decided to go with Slomin's anyway because he was so honest about the matter and everybody else was charging $1,800. After that, I was fine and I’m glad I went with them.

    Slomin's put in our alarm system in February or March. The tech and installers that they sent out were great guys and did their job. It took them a couple of months to have the new cameras installed but it was worth the wait. The tech was a nice, polite guy who stayed till after 6:00 at night to put the cameras in so that he did not have to come back the next day since I'm quite far from them, and I couldn’t ask for anybody better.

    It was very easy to learn and get used to the system. I’ve never had an alarm system before, so for people like me it’s so hard to get used to an alarm system so quickly, but that was not so for Slomin's alarm system. We’re still getting used, though, to using the cameras. After the installation, it was funny because a little blue cloud came across the phone. I rolled down my screen and a notification said that the camera had sensed something. I put the camera on and saw four kids in my swimming pool. They’re allowed to come over and the camera sensed them coming down the walkway and into the pool, and I was watching them while I was at work and that's pretty cool. The other night, I saw that the kids had left all the pool lights on so I went out and shut them off. Those new cameras are awesome.

    The alarm also goes off when I forget to use the garage door when going inside the house and I go through the back door instead. When that happens, we run for the remote button that's like a little fob that sets and shuts the alarm, and it's fantastic, and I don't even use the keypad on the wall. I can even turn the alarm off from work on the phone. I've had a very good experience with Slomin's and I really enjoy their alarm system. Everything works well and is so wonderful.

    We have been with Slomins for less than 6 months and I have to say that Petro was right when they said that "they are sorry we are moving to company whose service is bad". First. We tried logging in on the online account. Every time we do so we always end up calling support because there is always an error. Once logged in I noticed that the account automatically logs you out when you click on the button "My Account". It does not make sense that after logging in - it logs you right out. Why even put the action button there after one is logged in? I find it Inconvenient and useless.

    Second - Online Billing and invoice. The Online account summary is confusing - see screenshot. I do not even want to mention invoices. I called customer service - Nicole and inquired about this or asked her to explain it to me - My only question was "What is the current payment due and why does it show that?" She said she did not see it in her system - and insisted upon that answer. I told her that it was misleading and confusing then and asked her to look into it - she still said she cannot see it and even assured me I do not need to pay anything.

    I asked for a supervisor because I am already annoyed, She put me on hold and it was still her on the phone. She then explained to me about the budget plan I signed up for - which I am well aware about and told me that I did not pay in June!!! Check the image... I paid in June!. All I needed from the get go is to answer why it shows as such on the statement - of course now I get what that current amount due was about - but only after she insisted (4 Time) she does not see it in her system.. Bad customer service - wasted an hour of my day. She even said that I do not even have to pay ---ugh... It would have been a lot better if she just looked into it first and simply just said, "You missed the July Budget plan payment and you need to pay for the August as well." THAT SIMPLE!

Now, I moved in a different city, in a condo in a gated community with a 24-hour security guy, and I still have them. I still wanted them because I trust them so much. The installation was awesome and the guy was very helpful. I have the digital lock at my door so he showed me how to do it.     I contact Slomins home security for service on August 6, 2017 and met with the salesman about their services. In the end I signed a 5 year agreement not a 3 year agreement as quoted. There was a install date of Aug 9 2017 set for after 2pm. I took a 1/2 off work so someone was home for their tech. At 430pm I called my salesman to get a response of, "You didnt meet the credit qualifications so there isn't any install". I was like what... I called their so called customer service only to get hung up on once by a lady, I was prevented to speak to a supervisor by some man on my second call and on my third call I finally got a lady named... to help get through to Brendand a supervisor who could only apologize and said he'd refund my 96.00 ASAP which translates to 3 to 5 days.

    Why didnt I get a phone call when they knew I had been declined since they knew on Monday if not before. So in the end I lost 500.00 = 1/2 of work and extra fuel to meet their rep plus the $96.00 which I gave them at the 1st meeting... Please stay away from this company... Maybe this will help someone or me somehow... Just discovered they didnt put a order number on this receipt I have.

    I have tried reaching Slomins by phone and by letter and have gotten no response regarding my senior mother's security account. Over a year ago she attempted to upgrade her system and the service people that came out to the home were unable to activate the desired services, specifically video cameras. Over the course of the next six months or more of trying to work with Slomins, they advised her to purchase a new modem, to purchase other equipment in order to have the system work properly, and eventually, they just failed to respond to her. When she didn't try to deal with Slomins customer service, she got nowhere.

    About three months ago, after alerting Slomins that she was going to discontinue their services, they began threatening her with the fact that she was in a contract. She explain to them that her contract was based on installation of working equipment, which they failed to do. The representatives speak came irate with her telling her only that she would be charge for the remainder of her contract. As a senior she and her senior partner need an active working security system and were not provided with one through Slomins to the extent that they requested and attempted to upgrade to. They disabled their system and asked Slomins to come pick up the equipment, which they never did. However, they have continued to receive billing not only with charges for the remaining period of the contract at $1300, but with new charges, suggesting that Slomins believes they are still monitoring their home.

    I am concerned about what Slomins is doing, and I'm concerned that we have not been able to resolve this issue in a period of at least four months since the original letter was sent and over here in a half since the original request to upgrade their products in the home, which was never successfully completed. I would appreciate contact back so this matter can be closed. Thank you.

    I have Slomins Alarm Systems since May. Their price was more reasonable than everybody else out there so I went with them. Installing the security device was great. The technician explained everything to me. I like the screen where it tells me that the door is open or closed. It’s touchscreen and it also tells the weather. But I thought I was going to get the door panel which comes with the little numbers and can be unlocked with my phone on the door knob. They told me I didn’t get that because I had the camera and I got confused with that. Also, I was having technical issues with my security system and it frustrated me.

    Some of the people from Slomins didn’t listen and try to understand the customer. They didn’t have a timeframe and just have an open appointment for that day for somebody to come. Like when somebody has to come out to fix something, it would be from 8:00 all the way to 5:00. I wouldn’t know when they’re going to come. Since I work, I usually have to get a day off so I could be there when the person comes. Also on weekends, there’s nobody who can come out. So, if I have an issue with my security system and they’d say, “Well, Monday we’ll come,” then I'm left with my arms tied wrapped around because I’m going to have to call off from work so somebody could be at my house and they could come by.

    In other companies, you could tell them, “You know what? I work till 6:00.” And they’d tell you, “Okay. We could have somebody come in between 6:00 and 8:00.” But with Slomins, it’s not that way. And I should have looked more into that. I wouldn’t recommend Slomins to my friends because all of them work and they have the same issue as mine. They wouldn’t be able to be at home if somebody has to come by for the security system. And if they’re having technical issues, that’s going to bother them.

    We had a dog for many years affecting how we used the security system. In some ways, the dog not only replaced what the security system was made to do, but the nature of animals are that when left to themselves, they will find ways to trigger the system. We used our security system, but not very effectively. With the dog gone, I felt it was time to re-adjust so that we could effectively use the monitor security system in light of our present situation. I suspected that the industry had changed a lot since my last update. This turned out to be a huge understatement. The industry is completely different!     Highly dissatisfied! Before installation it was noted that we currently have the ADT Safewatch 3000 system. The technician who worked on adding sensors to our system was unfamiliar with our system. After over 8 hours, our installation wasn't halfway completed. My complaint isn't with the technician sent who was very apologetic, it was with Slomins Shield who didn't make sure and send out a tech familiar with the system! The Slomins supervisor was yelling at the tech over the phone, hanging the phone on the tech. Highly unprofessional! I'm looking to cancel my contract!

    System installed in 2013, all windows & doors and 1 interior live camera (did not have recorded camera as an option), and later added the text notifications. I hate the fact that you can't get pricing for anything online, you need to have a salesman visit. But that being said the salesman was very nice. Had to have 2 windows rewired as the installer stapled right through the wires ruining the connection (being woken up at 2 am in a panic from the alarm blasting afraid someone is in your house, realizing the zone set off is your youngest kid's room and freaking out!!!).

    ISSUES SINCE INSTALLATION: the camera worked maybe 25% of the time. I believe the camera is fine, but the wiring they use for the camera is crap, have to wiggle and shake the wire to get a connection, which would be temporary. I've given up, hasn't been used for about 2 years as there is never a connection. The alarm pad buttons seem to get worn out very quickly. To the point you are frantically pressing so hard to get it to register before the alarm goes off. So we've stopped using the regular alarm now too for over a year. I'm basically just waiting for my 5 years to be up and I will be canceling. When their equipment works, it's a good service.

    Oh and last issue. I signed a 5 yr contract with a monthly amount per the contract. That amount goes up annually, it's not a locked in rate which I wasn't aware of. And why didn't I get anything fixed or replaced? Because I would need to pay for it as well as take a day off of work. I feel like faulty equipment should be covered, not something I should pay for again.

    Sales was great, Stanley met all needs and exceeded expectations. He was friendly and provided just the right amount of sales and support. Greg the installer for the first part was fabulous. He was clean and courteous and was organized and respectful of my home while he installed. Customer service can not give me an arrival date for the cameras and rest of the equipment I ordered.

    Corporate should not be selling and billing for equipment that they can not provide an arrival date or an install date for. When selling new products corporate should be able to provide accurate timelines. Huge disconnect with corporate and the customer. Please note on the stars below the headers above stars and the sentence to describe below the stars do not correlate. So again I'll reiterate that the Salesman Stanley and the install tech Greg were phenomenal.

    The cameras are horrible. They don't record people, I see leaves and lights at all hours of the night. When people come to the door or when I leave the cameras don't work. I don't feel safe that if a stranger came to the door that the camera would even work. I never receive alerts?? That doesn't work or is not an option. I was told I would get the camera I saw on the website. Not true. Again the salesperson lied to me and I should have known better when they did this to me when I moved but decided to give them a second chance. Cameras go out, record clips randomly and I am blown off when I call. This is insane from a security company.

    Don't feel secure at all. I made my friend get this whole system and she is having all the same problems. DON'T RECOMMEND TO FRIENDS>>> So upset we switched from ADT, for the money we spent and spend every month we could have a fancy system with alerts and all the bells and whistles... Bet our sales guy got a vacation selling to us... Feel so ripped off... I added a picture so you can see that it only recorded 3 x today. I went back and forth to my car. I left then my husband left, we took the dog out twice. This system does not record people. It will however record the light of car or a random leaf and bug.

    Be aware hidden fees that they will charge you in the future and their reason is that it is in the contract and they will not even invoice you. And be aware when you sign a contract from an agent who will promise you that he will add extra sensor with no extra charge. Be aware you will see it after two months. When they have a problem with the equipment be aware it takes too long to take action. I should have never change from Petro to Slomins. Installation is so expensive it will charge you $105 per sensor.

    We have been Slomins customers for over 18 years now, and had no issues with them until we tried to cancel services in February. It is now 6/27, and the account is still charging, and no one will cancel the account. We have called numerous times, each and every time the person answering the phone states they will transfer us to "cancellation department", and we never get there. We are always brought back to the same person who "cannot help" with cancellation. They state someone will call us back. Over a week later, we had a call from them, but it was 1030 am and no one was home. Called AGAIN today to cancel, representative on the phone tried to transfer my call to cancellation department... and they were not there. How does one cancel this account??!! Meanwhile, Slomins is still charging us, how can this be this difficult?

    Needless to say I was FURIOUS! I took a day off from work because Slomins was coming between 1-5 pm. Mario shows up at 7 pm! I had to call Slomins at 4:45 pm to find out where crew member was. He is running late. Slomins couldn't call to tell me. I had to call! He gets here no SD card for camera. SERIOUSLY!! Everyone told me drop Slomins. Oh no I've used this company for almost 20 yrs.     I paid for cameras and told the salesman I need them asap. He scheduled me for an install one week later. I was told the install was anytime between 8 and 5. I waited 6 and a half hours for them. Installer showed up with no cameras. He hooked up alarm and smoke detector. I told him I needed cameras asap and he told me they ran out of cameras. He does not know when he will get them in.     We weren't pleased with the home security provider we had before. Our town is very strict with the permit but the provider never told us to file for that so we didn’t have one and they didn’t do it for us. We ended up ending our contract with them. And when my husband read Slomin's reviews on the internet and the people had a lot of good experience with their system, we decided to use them. Installing it was pretty easy. The person who came was very good, was very patient and he told us what he did. When I called their customer service to ask a question, it has been pleasant as well.

    I like the unit, the large buttons, the clearness of the directions and the fact that it talks to us. So if we forget what button to press, we can always figure out how to do it again. It’s like a nice computer. Unlike the other system we had which was much smaller and was very annoying. We’d had a lot of problems with it going off all hours of the night and there was some kind of electrical problem and it’s a nuisance. Slomin's is much better. We know how to operate the system and it seems pretty easy. It gives us more peace of mind and an added feeling of security knowing that the house is protected if we were to go away on vacation and nobody was going to be here. And it's good that our cat hasn't set off the alarm when we leave. Slomin's service has been excellent and the product has been working very well so far. We’re very happy with our purchase and we hope it continues on from this point.

    I’ve been very pleased with Slomin's service in the nearly 14 years that I've had them. They were offering free installation then and the people who I spoke with at the home trade fair were helpful. Installing the security device was very easy and the team was very friendly. A year ago, I started looking at upgrading my system and they had representative come but wasn’t able to offer me what I was looking for. The cost would have been too much to upgrade. I looked at other alarm companies and had an appointment set up with ADT whose customer service is horrible. I had to ask them to send me an email that would give me a clear idea of what the cost would be for the upgrade and they never sent me the email. They also charged about $90 just to set up an appointment. I had to cancel that but had to do it three times before it went through their system.

    So then, I called Slomin's back and asked if they had anything new. They sent a nice guy over to my house and he was really helpful. Also, the upgrade was a lot less money than it was a year ago. It’s really easy with the digital system and I’m happy with Slomin's. They are a local company to Long Island and people who work there are all Long Island people. I’d rather do a local company than a large national company like ADT.

    I was lucky when a salesman from Slomins came to my job and I was able to know about the company he represents. It was our first security service provider and we had it for three weeks now. During the installation, I wasn't home but somebody was there. They explained everything well so it was easy and simple. They came with one monitor and two sensors, one for the door and one for the window. Their customer service was excellent. I called them when I forgot something and they didn't make fun of me, they just helped me and that made me feel good.     When working with the salesman, I was told that motion detectors are fine for cats as they only detect motion from things 80 lbs or higher. I have had to have Slomin's back twice after installation to disarm the 1st floor motion detector and later the basement motion detector as my cats set both off. This has been extremely frustrating and each visit forces me to leave large blocks of time open for the appointments.
