I had efficient service and overall experience with sales and installation was good. I would recommend to a friend. The sales listened and helped us to find relatively complete and satisfied solution. And installation was quick and gave us thoroughly training.

We bought the house about 10 years ago, and we had ADT. I wanted to get another alternative because ADT was getting too expensive and Slomins offered the best alternative in terms of the same type of coverage at a lower price. Their customer service on the phone is very good. In terms of response for alarms, they call right away and check on you. They make sure everything’s okay and they also make sure you give the password.
In terms of the sales, they're not pushy at all, even with the most recent situation where we got an upgrade. I was worried because they thought they were coming to upgrade and they were gonna try to charge me a whole lot of money. But I was able to get a brand-new system for no additional cost. I got all of the new things for our cellphones. We can cut the system on and off from our cellphones. So, I'm very happy with them. They're very professional and they exceed my expectations. I’ve already recommended them to neighbors, family and friends. I tell them that Slomins is very reasonable, and they’d be very happy with the service. The system is trouble-free. We don't have false alarms when we go away.

I got a home security system for the protection of the two of us in the house, to make sure that our safety is there. We wanted to have something reliable. The people at Slomins were very friendly. We were able to read their lips and there was no communication problems. The installation was awesome too. The techs were wonderful and they did a great job. They were very patient until they were done that day and they had no problem explaining to me the instructions -- how to set it up, how to change the clock, and all of the user guide things. The system is excellent. It’s good quality, and their smartphone features are awesome.

We moved into our house about a year ago and ADT was already there, which was fine, but they didn’t upgrade anything. We were new customers and were difficult to work with. I called a few companies and Joe from Slomins came over. He was great. The installer was here for two hours. He was super nice and set up everything pretty quickly. The security is a lot better than what we had for sure. It was nice that they explained everything to us and gave us what we wanted, not just what they had to offer.

The only complaint I had was there was a very big mix-up with the billing, but Slomins straightened it out. However, it took two months to get it straight. The first month, they agreed there was a mistake made and they said they would correct it, and then I got a bill in the mail the next month that nothing was taken. It was $200 more than it should have been and then they adjusted it for the next month. That was the only problem. The system itself is fine. It's easy to work the keypad. I got more than I had from my last alarm that was set up. I'm very happy with Slomins.

I have had Slomins Shield for over five years. They are always professional, courteous and knowledgeable. I have been a customer for over five years and recently re-signed another contract and had two more pieces of equipment installed. The technician that installed my video doorbell went over and beyond for me without me even asking. I always appreciate the customer service and I know I’m in good hands.

I was mistakenly charged $279 for the doorbell alarm on March 5, 2020 and was promised a refund. As of today March 25, that has not occurred. They had plenty of time to refund the money prior to the Corona virus stay at home order. So that cannot be used as an excuse.

I accidentally set off the alarm when I opened the door. As I was entering data into the system, Slomin called immediately and asked if everything was ok, etc. I would recommend Slomins to anyone. I had very good service. Thank You.

The only thing that had been promised and couldn't be delivered was the video doorbell. Since we specifically said we needed wireless I don't know why the sales person said we could get it. Happy otherwise. The new system is much easier to navigate than the old one, and we basically just needed to upgrade the whole system to wireless because we are renovating. The technician was thorough and able to hook up everything except the doorbell.

Slomin’s has solved all the problems that I've had with my home security system. Everybody, from the installer to the representative, is very professional. The cost is a little high but it’s not much higher than my previous company and at least, I have a system that’s working. If someone has two of their options, maybe they can give the third one away for free. Other than that, everything is working fine.

Joe who came to install my alarm was spectacular!!! Excellent. The very best. I should know as many men have come over the years to work on my alarm but none were as knowledgeable as Joe!!! He explained everything in detail and discussed with me what kind of support from the system I needed.

Although it was a false alarm with me accidentally pushing the key access button, the police came 3 hours later to double check. I recently found out at the local 75th Precinct meeting that police will check the house even if the alarm goes off accidentally on their time. And if there is a crime in progress will act immediately. Is this true?

Totally Satisfied, and the system works well. The service technician was very helpful on breaking down step by step on how to work the alarm system. Since we had the system and viewing the camera is our best friend letting us know when someone is coming.

We recently upgraded our security system to wireless. We have had Slomins system in our home for at least the past 15 years and have had minimal problems. When contacted with an issue the response was almost immediate and fair.

I had an upgrade for my old system, the salesperson, Grayson was great he made sure that I got just what I wanted, he's the kinda of guy that you feel like family when you meet him, very personable. The same with the tech who did the installation, His name was Shavron (if I spelled that right) was very personable, great sense of humor and definitely knows what he is doing!

We tried a different alarm company but I didn’t like what they had to offer and the way it worked out. My alarm system broke so we opted to get a new one. The gentlemen from Slomin's Alarm Systems were terrific. The gentleman who came to see us explained everything and he wasn't pushy. He was very nice and wonderful. Then the installer was super, too. He explained to us how to operate it. He was neat and clean. There were no issues and I was very satisfied. So far, the system is great.

Tell them that pricing is good for the service and that they have many things to pick from as far as what they are looking for. Also that they are very good with their customer service. If there is a problem with your service or you do not understand something they send a tech at right away to help you.

So far we are happy with the service provided. The only hiccup was during the installation when it was requested to receive a phone call prior to arrival of the technician. This didn't happen which resulted in waking up our 15 month old daughter and really upsetting my wife.

I have a hard wired system. The repairman placed wireless replacements. The replacements DO NOT WORK. If there’s an existing hardwire why wasn’t it utilized??? Another day waiting for repair... Completely unfair! Please call me. Rectify this unfortunate completion. Thank you.

Great value for your money plus less expensive than ADT which we had for 6 years. Salesman was not a pressure to sell salesperson. Free upgrades which ADT would not offer me until I decided to cancel. I got more features with Slomins including 2 outside cameras and a doorbell camera. Seems to be a good choice.

I'm going through a divorce, and I had to get the order protection. The assistant district attorney told me to get a camera system. I called one of Slomin's rep and he sold us and we purchased the system. It was expensive compared to other companies but I love the system. I wouldn't trade it for the world. We pay monthly maintenance fee. So, anytime we need anyone to come, they're available or helped us online.

I have three cameras set up and monitoring for my office as well as an apartment space. I had trouble with my camera’s not recording and I sent a request via my mobile app. A customer service representative named Nicole reached out quickly and fixed my problem within five minutes. I am so relieved. The installation of my cameras and system went on smoothly as well.

I heard about Slomins Alarm System on the radio and I just gave it a call. For safety reasons, I decided to go through Slomins. Their customer service was good. Their rep set everything up and showed me how to get to everything. The system was really good. Everything was included and I appreciated it. The smartphone feature was good too. I have the camera. I wish it'd record things without me having to record it. But I like it.

So your people are good And being it was an upgrade I thought it would have been nice if my sensors were replaced being that they are 20 years old. Having said that it is no one's fault but mine. Your salesman has a job to do and I should have been more aware. Your installer #** was a pro who made it look easy and answered all my questions. You should be proud to have such a good employee. I know it is a business but having an existing system instead of a new install should have warranted a few new items beside smoke alarms.

Our old home security system was outdated. It was through the phone lines and we weren't even using the alarm. I was always getting a trouble on the alarm and if the power went out and something happened with the phone line, then the alarm didn't work. We got Slomins and we have no problem with them. We were very interested after the representative explained everything. Then, everything with the installation went very smoothly. The guy was very nice and he knew what he was doing. I have my mother here at home who has dementia, and she was following him all over and asking him all kinds of questions, and he was very patient and polite with her. He was very good. The features that are offered in the system are very good as well. It is even a much more user-friendly system. And whenever we had a problem, we called the customer service, and they came right out.

I called the main number and spoke with a women named Joanne. I have two alarm systems and was having trouble with the app. She was short and rude with me from the beginning. I understand it may come easy to her but I was having issues. I run a large trucking company and for someone to be so rude it would not fly in my office. The people who installed the system were perfect. Joanne not so perfect.. Sorry Joanne!!!!

I had another alarm company prior to Slomins which was the first one and they sold out to another company. They never told me. So, when I had a problem one time, I called and they were not available. It was like a nightmare. Then I decided to get rid of them. I was without an alarm for two years until I was watching TV and I decided to give Slomins a try. They’re local. The technicians are all over here and all I had to do is call and they’re here for me. I love my alarm. Their reps are all amazing.
The people that came out to do the install were really very nice. I love technology but I’m not so good at it. So, they explained everything to me. I installed some cameras over here and I didn’t know too much about the cameras, and so my fiancé who's in the Middle East told me to send the information to him in order for him to verify to see everything was doing okay. The installer sent the information to Afghanistan. It was amazing. Everything was done exactly the way Eric wanted it. It was really amazing. And when the installer came over here, I didn’t have the one from the door. So, he was telling me and I said I wanted it. I am so grateful. And the cameras were beautiful. I am really very happy with the service from A to Z. It’s like they put all the great people and they put them to their company.
I was so satisfied and I was like so surprised because I didn’t know what I was getting into. I know we wanted the cameras, but my fiance and the installer got in touch with each other and I got exactly what we wanted and it was amazing. The system is amazing. I ordered something from Amazon, and I saw the guy coming in and he just came out here and put the package. Everything’s perfect. I check it in my phone. I’m waiting until Eric comes home so that we could put it in his phone, too. And I could not have a better service because Slomins tailor to my needs. Somebody sent in an email to Afghanistan just to make sure, “This is what we have and what we’re going to do.” That is over the step because I did not expected that. And Eric was so happy.

We've had a Slomin’s for a long time now, about 20 years, and the reps were good and professional. We got the new up-to-date system. So the pad itself is very easy to operate, not like it was before, with the battery and everything. The new system can talk to you too – “door close", "door open", "alarm set", "alarm not set”. The experience is very good so far overall.

Slomins listens to my needs and requests. I work in my home and that’s why I need to have a company to listen to my needs and be precise about what I’m saying. The alarm goes on and it goes off. It works, so I’m happy with that. I’m not happy with the cost of fuel and how my oil burns, though. But the reps listened to everything I said, and they investigated. I had a lot of problems with leakage of oil, and they went to my oil tank and fixed it. There's also all the noise that I’ve been hearing, and they tried to fix that as well.

Slomins' rep was very clear and concise, very detailed, easy to work with, friendly, and nice to have in your house. I like Slomins better than the alarm system I had. I like the updated technology. It's very easy and simple to use. The installation also went very smoothly. So far, I'm very satisfied with the system. It's kinda interesting that I have consistently used the stay button in the evening, where before I kinda got out of the habit of using. Everything's perfect.

I have had Slomins for most part of a decade and had no bad experience. I called slomins for their free upgrade of system and a salesperson came out. He told me that the upgrade was free and never mentioned that there would be an increase in monthly charges. I was paying around 28.00/month. Since I signed a new 5 year contract, they raised it to 33.95/month for the same monitoring service. When I called, I was told basically, "Too bad you signed the new contract." I won't be renewing the contract when it expires.

Slomin's is a good system, and they are responsive. We just did an upgrade now. We have used them a couple of times, and they even called when they were not absolutely sure that anything happened. Sometimes, when I cook something and I smoke the house, they call me. I'm very happy with them. The price is very comparable to ADT, which is a competitor, but I prefer Slomin's because being a smaller company, they are more personable. They have good customer service, which is important to me.

I do not recommend this alarm system to any one. Since this alarm system depended on the land line to notify them for any trouble in the alarm system. If the land line or the power is out, you are on your own, Slomins will not call anybody. Yesterday my land line went dead 3:30am, I was expecting police to show up, they never did. I call Slomins in the morning, they told me if the land line is out, they will not get any signals, therefore, they did not notify the police.
The whole idea to have security alarm is to protect personnel and property. If I knew the security system is design in such way, I would never have install it. I only found that out yesterday after sign up and pay for all the monitoring system for the last 5 years thinking I my family are protected, it turn out it is deceptive scam promoted by Slomins security, and it was a total wasted of money. I am going to sign up with SimpliSafe and don't have to worry about power outage or down land line. Slomins shield indeed, it shield them from knowing anything.

You are being forewarned. Slomin's shield will send a sales representative to your home who will write a contract then falsify the one the submit for processing. I was a loyal Slomin's Shield customer for over 4 years, I asked for an upgrade and got a bait & switch. They sent a sales person to my home who gave me a price for monthly monitoring which was previously quarterly. The monthly fee increased slightly which was fine. Several months later I received a bill of 72.21 for monitoring which was NOT on my contract. They know they screwed up cause the monthly payment on my contract was all they could charge to my CC account cause it's all I agreed to. NOW they're trying to bill me as though I don't have a copy of my contract. EVEN if they agree to honor their contract I am canceling my entire contract due to fraud. They are DISHONEST for even trying to bill me. WHAT if I were elderly & paid? It's cheating. They're CROOKS!

We really needed a home security system in our area and Slomin's had the best offer so we got one with them. The installation was nice and smooth. The person who did it was very cooperative and knowledgeable. He knew how to program it and he ran through all the steps. I love the ability to log in with a phone. For the amount that I paid, the system is definitely worth it.

Apparently I was locked into a 5 year contract and you are charging me $60 for a sensor. Your service times are a huge inconvenience. The second my contract ends I will cancel. I will never buy oil from you because you are crooks. I will tell all my friends and hope your management is sued or imprisoned for your unethical Practices.

I’ve been very satisfied with Slomins which is why I’ve been a customer since 1993. They were offering it for free when I moved into my house. The security is better and its features are very good. The cost is a little higher than I’d like to pay, but it is what it is. We've had the system updated a couple of months ago. The installation team was great and the representatives were very good. However, they misbilled me. I have to call in and see if I can get the suggested.

My son has had his Slomins system since the early 2000s and he really likes it. Recently, he had an issue with his telephone line, and he had to have a telephone in the house in order to have Slomins. So, we opted to have Slomins put in a wireless system. The people that came out were wonderful. They showed us what they're gonna do, and explained to us all the details.

Our cars were broken into about four years ago so we figured we'd have a home security. Slomin's is 100% better than the alarm system we've had before. They have more features and new technology now, and I like them. I also have cameras now for the driveway. Eventually, I'll get some windows added on. Their reps were very polite, very good and very informative. John came to the house and explained everything to us - the cost, etc. And after that, we decided to get the oil from them too. The installation team was very good. They explained everything to my wife and they went over the keypad. I like their smartphone feature too where I can set my alarm from outside and set it if I'm away and I forget. The cost, for the protection that we get, is very good. My wife feels safer now especially if I'm away, because I have to travel sometimes.

We've had the Slomin's system for about a month now and everything has been good. The previous homeowner was using the same company and the online system was already installed in the home, and they just had to reactive it. The guy who came was very nice and was very thorough. He still keeps in touch with us once in a while just to check up. The system is very basic and straightforward, and the equipment is of good quality. The cost is good too. We got an offer from another company but they were more expensive. I would definitely recommend Slomin's.

When I was doing a little bit of search five years back, I found that Slomin's was better than other companies. After that, I started using them and so far, everything is good. They upgraded the equipment two months back and since they have the cell towers, they needed to connect to that. They also replaced some part of the console which is now able to communicate in LTE mode. Before, it was 4G or 3G only. Other than that, the value for money is there and they are quite responsive in case we need anything.

I've had Slomin's for about 18 years now, and since I did away with my phoneline, they had to take the old alarm and put a new alarm system in. The new one works off a satellite and it’s really nice. And the installation was fast, taking just an hour. I've had the system for about a month now and I like its features. I have a smoke alarm and motion sensors in two rooms and three doors. It’s good quality product and is well worth the cost.

We've had Slomin's for about 25 years and I have motion sensors, a fire detector in the basement and carbon monoxide detectors, which I’ve just replaced all over the house. We might be interested in doing cameras too. But Slomin's needs to take better notes as to what people need and what they want. The installation was a little shaky because I was at work and although I specifically told them that I wanted the motion detector put in the spare bedroom, they put it in the living room where I have cats. The motion detector was constantly going off. So then I had to bypass that zone and that was kind of yucky.
Then I couldn’t ask my father to do it again so I had to stay home while Slomin's fixed that problem. But then they left a big hole in my wall, which needs to be there in the first place, so I had to fix the wall too. The alarms should also have been attached to the window and to the wall. Instead, they had it so that you could easily pull it off. It was like Velcro and so my cats were flipping it with their hand and my alarm was going off. I told Slomin's I had cats and cats like to play with things so they shouldn’t have something that has a little wire either.
The other thing was that I needed to change something that everybody calls the delay from my side door to my front door. But Slomin's never made it the first time and all they had to do was come to the house and reprogram the box because I no longer had it where they could do it over the phone. My alarm kept going off because my phone line was always going out. So that wasn’t Slomin’s fault. But when I switched over to another company, I had Slomin's come in to put the delay from the side door to the front door and they couldn’t get to my house in time. I had to stay home another time just to get a minor thing. The guy who was coming in to do it, found out what was going on and said he was in the neighborhood but then he never made it there. The guy who did finally come, took five minutes to do it. So Slomin's needs some improvements along the way.

I love my new system, we got the driveway cameras and new keypad with the two apps on my phone. I can alarm my house from anywhere. It's not a sensitive as the Ring doorbell, but it lets me know when a bird flies by. Love it and it comes with a remote. Thanks, Slomins.

Once I expressed my dissatisfaction on the deal I received from Slomin via the consumeraffairs portal, they promptly reached out to me. They understood the issue and made a few counter offers to me so as to address my concerns. While they couldn’t match the competitive deal that others had received, they offered a reasonable compromise. The field rep installed two additional sensors within the same price and also advised on the right location for these sensors. I don’t have any issues with their service now.

I am updating my review because the issue was solved. Slomins was diligent about reaching out to me so in terms of their customer service they were clearly on top of their game. Nicole made sure to accomodate my schedule. In terms of the app, it is ok. She figured out a way that we can all be on it the same time, so we were happy. But the app does still need some improvements. It is fine and it is workable and it wouldn't stop me from recommending it but it definitely should have an upgrade. Overall, however I am now satisfied. Thank you.

Very unhappy. Cannot use the app. I share it with 4 other people. First, if someone logs on, it logs the other off. Then I was told the one main account can invite others. So my husband invited me. I cannot even connect to wifi. It says to reset the device. I have no idea how to reset the device. I googled it. Nowhere is there a button on the device or instructions online. It is awful.

I had Slomin's Alarm system for 5 years (contract). I believe it went off twice (accidentally) in 5 years. I paid my bill as soon as it came in. I was an ideal customer. Let me tell you three points about why this company is absolute trash. #1 I changed my one exterior door and the sensor was messed up after removing it and putting it on the new door. I called to get a walk through on how to reset it. I was told I needed to have a service tech come out to reset it for almost $100. As I was arguing with the customer service rep, I googled how to reset it and did it myself. I was later told (after complaining) that she was supposed to walk me through it. TRASH.
#2 They needed to upgrade THEIR system to 4g or something, but they are trying to charge every customer to upgrade the chip in the keypad (Philadelphia). They almost got my grandmother for money. I flipped out. Customers pay YOU for a service. If you are upgrading your signals, then it is on YOU to switch out the equipment that we agreed to in the original contract. Anyway, I sent a mass FB post/text to tell customers I know to refuse to pay. All of them ended up getting it changed for free. TRASH.
#3 I cancelled my service and got the Ring (MUCH cheaper, same thing even better). I was paid until the 22nd of August... I called to confirm this. I wrote on the cancellation request letter DO NOT RENEW - I AM PAID THROUGH AUG 22 PLEASE CANCEL THEN. I spoke to the women on the phone and said this too. They cancelled it first week in August. So my husband calls and, after being on hold for eternity, they claimed to add back the monitoring. They lied. I did not know they lied until I disconnected my system to set up the ring before Aug. 22. I got no notification that my alarm was tampered with or removed. So it was never being monitored. TRASH. So basically Slomin's is untrustworthy and doesn't care about their customers. WARNING DO NOT USE.

Slomin's Shield sales representative Rich ** is the worst person you'll ever meet. He did not explain exactly what the service he fiercely pushed for was clearly about. Rich ** IS A SCAM and only care about the little commission he's getting from each person he ripped off to make a sale. They came to install my alarm system but I can only hear the alarm sound only if I am in my living/dining room and kitchen. If I'm inside my bedroom which is on the same floor not far from the dining room, I will not hear the alarm.
Another tech came by my house, tested it and actually noticed the same issue. To make a long story short, I called that Rich person, he rudely stated that I have to buy an extra equipment. Every time, I try to contact him about the mess he create, he raised his voice at me and became extremely unprofessional. This special type of moron belongs to Slomin's Shield and nowhere else. No one, including managers except Laura who help me with their app, was helpful or was willing to rectify what that idiot did. Basically, If my house is getting robbed and I am inside my bedroom, I will not notice/or hear anything until the robber opens my door and shoot me. So if I want to hear the alarm, I have to sleep in my living room.
I believe that sales person should've been upfront and tell me that the alarm was not only going to be loud enough to be able to hear it when inside the bedroom. Then it would've been my decision to move forward or not. Sorry for the long letter, I am clearly pissed at Slomin's team. I do not recommend them at all. They have no customer service skills.

I've been with Slomin's for at least 15 years and they're wonderful people. I went with more Wi-Fi features and you really can't tell if there's an intruder in the house. I live in a split-level and if somebody comes in, you can barely hear the alarm go off. With my old system, I had a box in my bedroom and I could see which door opened up. Now, this one doesn’t do that. But the cost is fine. It's like a dollar a day.

I signup for their 5 year contract because their promotions of $1000 equipment and installation. During installation, the technician said door bell camera was not able to get installed. And I need to contact them for something else. Here is where it gets really tricky, when you sign up, these equipment are discounted, but when you need to switch to a different product, they ask you for the full amount. A glass breaker detector will cost $125, which I can get one for less than $30. Anyone with reasoning will understand a door bell camera worth way more than a sensor. And not to mention, their alarm is keep sounding for no reason, cops were called twice in a row. No one even care to contact us to provide solutions, it is your job to talk to them about these false alarms. Just like the other reviews said, all they care about is installing you, signing and goodbye. STAY AWAY!!

I purchased a house with an existing contract. It is pathetic that the most difficult part of buying a home is transferring the security contract. I was able to get a loan for 100K with a simple online application but their stupid agreement for $35/mo requires me to go to a notary and overnight docs. You'll get them when you get them, if ever. Not to mention that they require a 5 year contract. ADT requires 3 as do other. I would NEVER choose to use them.

Thank you for cancelling. I must point out there is NO Balance due as I pre paid in full to terminate months ago. Additionally, upon paying I was informed I needed to call back 3 months later to be sure Slomins did their job. Cancelling my account. That is just another reason for no longer wanting your services. Got a fine due to your company. Called and company told me to pound salt- good luck- you're on your own. (No Help At ALL.)
Was told when agreeing and signing contract, "everything" would be covered. Not true, when came time for servicing due to false alarm(s); a-Was told 1st servicing was 4 or 5 days out for 1st available date. & b-Batteries are not covered, therefore, I paid. Then I went to local hardware store to see Slomins charged me approximately 10 times what the retail price was for a simple battery. Shame on Slomins. Gave the company one more chance. Called scheduled appointment for A/C install. The quote I got was 3500.00 more expensive than 1 of the competitors! Once again- Shame on you trying to rip off a senior citizen that served and helped save this country!!!

Am I the only one whose iPhone app no longer works after the control panel radio upgrade a few months ago? Intermittently - and frequently - does not connect to panel from app. Numerous phone calls to customer service for troubleshooting, had a service call on site a few days ago, still crapping out on us, multiple iPhones of different generations (SE and 6S) affected, using both WiFi and cellular signals.
Currently waiting for Slomins to chat with their IT folks and call me back. Told that customers aren’t allowed to talk to IT there. Slomins app is our primary method of arming and disarming since our control panel is not near our usual entry door. Got mad at repeated phone calls over this issue and threatened to cancel service, and rep told us “No problem, we’ll just hit you with a four thousand dollar ($4,000) termination penalty, read your contract.” ????

I've been with Slomin's for 26 years and I really like their system. They're very responsive. I immediately get a call if my alarm goes off. I recently got upgraded at no cost, and they sent in their sales rep who went over the new system with me. Then we scheduled for them to come and install it. The installer knew what he was doing and explained everything to my husband. I like the new system a lot. Coming from the old system to this pad was like day and night, but it was very easy to get used to.

Slomin's customer service was good. They told me they were gonna install the system for free, which they did. Their installer was very quick. They gave me a window from 8:00 to 12:00 and they were there before the 12 o’clock. By 12:00 they were all done and gone. I also have wireless, which is great. They also gave me the camera and the keypad and the contacts for the windows and doors and I didn’t have to pay anything except for the monitoring. I have an iPhone and I can turn my alarm on and off from anywhere in the United States and overseas. I've been in Portugal and I can watch my system through the camera.
Lately I had a couple of problems with my password to get in. Still, Slomin's team resolved it. Thus far, I've never had a problem with the system's quality. It never goes off accidentally unless I accidentally open the door. Every time you call customer service, they're very helpful. They send me the bill for the monitoring every three months and I pay it. When I forget that the system is on and I open the door, the alarm goes off when I go in. Slomin's team calls me right away asking me if it's me. They would have a secret password and their reps would say that if I don't answer, they would send the police right away.

I got their service and wanted to terminate my contract within the first 6 months because I wasn’t happy. The alarm kept beeping at night, and when it did go off I was never called from the central monitoring dept. ADT is way better. Unfortunately they said I would need to pay them regardless and they were extremely rude. This past Saturday I was served with a lawsuit for $1500.00. This company has in house attorneys so they don’t care. They aren’t caring or willing to work with you. All they care about is installing you signing and goodbye. STAY AWAY!!

Having a security system, we liked that you can see the video. The manager in our building had Slomin's. We saw it and we were interested. Customer service was pretty cool and the installers were very professional, friendly, and on time. They came in, made me feel comfortable, and gave me all the information. We just never got the welcome email and I had to call in because I couldn’t remember the passcode. Even with that, we still never got the welcome email.
I’ve also been meaning to call customer service because the doorbell is not working. It works on the outside, but when you ring the doorbell you can’t hear it on the inside. I don’t know if something disconnected or what the deal is with it. Other than that, my system works overall. I was in Arizona yesterday and somebody rang my doorbell. I could see exactly who was at the door and I love just being able to see who’s there. Also, you pay $46 upfront then pay monthly. I think that's pretty cool. They didn't ask for a bulk amount of money.

I was reading the reviews and Slomin's reviews were okay. That’s why I chose them and both people I dealt with, the sales rep and the installer, were excellent. The installer showed me how the system works, made sure everything was set up for me, and didn’t leave me until all my questions were answered. In terms of the features, everything is great. It seems to be working for me. The smartphone features are also very convenient. Those are the best thing about the system. The alarms also all work fine so everything is good. I can see everything in front of my house and also a little bit down the street. Slomin's is cheap too. It’s $24 a month.

I wanted to make sure my home was protected and I've seen Slomin's advertisement so I thought I would give them a call and see how everything is. So far, I'm enjoying it. This one also seemed like the most reasonable security system and so far, the price is really good compared to other home systems. It's very affordable. The guy, Don, also explained everything and was very thorough. He was also very nice when he set everything up. He showed me how to do everything and answered any questions I had. I will recommend this to a lot of people. Everything was good and I feel more secure now. I feel like I can leave my house without any issues – that if anything were to happen, I can rely on these guys to take care of it.

I had the Slomin's security system installed less than a year ago. They installed a 3G product and now need to upgrade it to 4G capabilities and is pushing that cost onto the consumer. How does that make any sense? This is the business you're in. If you have to upgrade, that cost should be on Slomin's, not the customer. When I asked the customer service rep why do I need to pay, she said "3G is outdated, look it up." Well, 4G isn't new. You shouldn't have have installed an 'outdated' system. Now it's either pay or be stuck with an outdated system that won't work. Would not recommend. They're crooks and hook you into long-term contracts, so I'm stuck. In the end, I guess it's my fault for trusting them.

At the time when I thought I might need a security system, I heard about Slomin's on the radio. I called them and have been satisfied since then. The guy that did the initial look around and the installation guy were really cool and professional. The installer was here for quite a while. He explained all the way around about everything and made sure everything worked properly. He was good. I would have liked another window or so though. But the smartphone features are great. When I'm not home and someone comes to the door, I get alerted. I could see what they're doing and talk to them. Everything is working out fine. Plus, the system's cost is great. We're happy with everything and I've been recommending them.

I didn’t feel safe in the house without a home security system. I've seen a lot of Slomin's signs in my area and I read up on it. I called them up and everything was good. Anthony was phenomenal and very professional. We loved the way he presented himself. He explained everything in great detail so we're very comfortable and have no worries, whatsoever. I had a lot of questions and he had all the answers. Plus, he didn’t leave a mess. The guy deserves a raise. With the system, our sense of security is perfect. Its features are very good and easy to use which my wife loves. She was scared it was gonna be too difficult to understand. The pricing was great, too.

I called Slomins today about audible alarms form our keypad for low batteries in 3 of our sensors. I wanted to know if I was to replace the batteries or was that something they do. After some questions the rep said they needed to send a technician out to upgrade the keypad for a fee of $60. After I questioned why I should have to pay for their upgrade he said it is in your contract. When I questioned him he talked over me and his tone became louder and "matter of factly". I felt his attitude was horrible. That if I didn't like the policy that was my problem, continually asking me if I wanted him to schedule a tech to come out as if the conversation was over and he was done wasting his time with me. I eventually hung up.

The Slomin's security system was already installed in the house, so when we were robbed, we had them come out and update the system. The experience we've had with the representatives at Slomin's has been really good -- both the first time we had the system reinstalled and the last time when the tech guy came out. The tech guy was excellent and he really helped me. He showed how to get the app on my phone. Now, it can be done off your phone and he made sure I really knew everything with the updated system.
I like the features and they work out really good. I am happy with the cost, although my bill went up $4 a month or $12 every quarter for the update of the service, which is really not that much cost considering what I have. I can program the system off my phone or turn it off or check it, so it is really a good service. The night we got robbed, I was going around and putting locks on the doors. We didn't have anything that night and I figured those people would be back, so I set the alarm every night and if I step out a couple of minutes and when my teenage daughter is home. I am secure about it then and at least I know what is going on.

My fiancé (now husband) and I rented an apt together years ago. While I wanted ADT, he wanted to use Slomins so I agreed. We were only in the apt for a year before we decided to relocate? I called Slomins to let them know that we would be moving in 30 days and they told me too bad, I'm bound to a contract and have to pay them to get out of it. They wanted $1500 to exit the contract which we didn't have. I paid up through the entire lease and called again to tell them that I could not honor that exuberant amount for an alarm system. They told me that I should have read the contract thoroughly. Not only were they incredibly rude, but my co-worker had been in a similar situation and was able to negotiate an exit without penalties so they had options. Let's just say that years later, they actually put a lien on my husband in the amount of $1800 as a penalty for breaking the contract.
So on top of paying the monthly service bill on time, this works out to be an additional $150 a month on top of the base price. Who pays $350-400 a month for a few monitors in an apartment?? Pure rip-off and compared to what I pay now, $90 every 3 months for an entire 4 bedroom house. There are too many cost effective options on the market to be tied in contract with this old school company. Nobody does that anymore. It's a sign of pure desperation so my advice, steer clear. I wish I had followed my instincts and known that an ALARM company, not a bank, creditor or government agency, but an ALARM company would use mob tactics to strong-arm us into paying $400 a month AND put a lien on us for additional fees due to the loss of business, I would have run. Consider this a favor of what could happen with these thieves.

I’ve been using Slomin’s for years and I’ve always had very good service so I figured about getting a security camera. I was entitled to an upgrade, so I took it. The upgrade included the outside security camera and the new keypad. Joe, the person who gave me the upgrade, was excellent to deal with and I've known him for a few years. The installation was very professional. The camera and installation were not charged, and I pay $11 a month for the security camera, so I'm satisfied. I’m very pleased with Slomin’s and will be staying with them until the end.

I installed an alarm system a few months ago and I pay monthly for monitoring service. When I got the system installed I told them I was getting a new basement door and they said no problem. And that they’d arm the current door and to call them when it is installed and they’ll arm that door for us with no problem. I just called to get the door armed and they want to charge $50 to put the pieces of tape on the door. I asked for them to mail it to me and they said no. Will be looking for another alarm company. They just lost a customer over $50.

I was a customer of ADT for years but they kept raising my prices. When I told them I was leaving, they didn't take it seriously so I found the next best thing. Slomins' customer service reps were very accommodating. Joe toed the line, helped me and got me a good price. The people who came and installed the system were very helpful as well. My system has plenty of features but I don't think it's great. It's very similar to the previous one I had, but then all home security systems are all very similar.

I was an ADT customer for 12 years. I moved into a new house in December of 2018 and I had an ADT sales rep come three times with a technician. They said that they could do the system then they couldn't do it then they could. They had to do upgrades and in the end, they tried to take out over $1,000 out of my pocket. I basically threw them out.
The radio show I listen to, Z100, advertises Slomins all the time so I made a phone call. The customer representative that I talked to was very polite. She gave me the contact of the salesman who would be coming to my house as well as a three-hour window. The salesman came right on time. He looked at everything and told me that I could absolutely use all the hardware that was already existing in the house like the window and the door sensors. He also looked at all the glass breaks and the basement sensors that I had and he was very upfront about how they might have to be replaced. He was able to give me a quote right then and there and I actually signed the contract before he left the house. I also took his advice to have the batteries of all the sensors replaced as he said that that would save a lot of time. I had done that the weekend prior to the installer's schedule. I wound up having 36 zones in total between all the windows and doors.
The guy who came to install my system was great. He asked me before he did the work and communicated while he was here. He used all the existing sensors and he replaced the ones that were not functional, such as the one in the basement. He also put in another glass break sensor, motion sensor, three fire sensors and two LCD panels. He was in and out of the house in less than three hours and everything went great. From the customer service rep to the salesperson to the tech, everyone that I dealt with from Slomins was very professional and communicated very well. They knew all of my expectations and they did a phenomenal job. I was very impressed. All three floors of my house are now thoroughly covered. The Slomins' app is also on my phone and my wife's phone, and it works fantastically. I have more features on my system and my monthly cost is right where I expected it to be.

Was charged by Slomins to upgrade the system they installed so it would communicate wirelessly with their monitoring system. After they installed the upgrade now the system fails 3 times a day with a communication loss with the #1 keypad. They want to charge to fix a problem they caused. ADT offers a much better service for their customers and I'm sorry I switched.

DO NOT sign a contract with Slomins. They NEVER told me I was 'binded' for 5 years with them. In the beginning they made everything sound so great but now there are more advanced and cheaper options available and all they want to do is sell it to me and charge me a monthly fee. You can buy the very same equipment and not pay a monthly fee. They are very rude. Every time I call up customer service and they NEVER want to help me, they always pass me along. I would of never signed knowing it was for 5 years.

I've had Slomin's home security system for years now. It's easy to function, satisfactory, and priced fairly. Its features serve the purpose of the system and I'm content with what I have. However, Slomin's customer service is horrible. There is no response time. I signed up for a contract with home heating in November. I still haven't had my system serviced and I've already put in three requests. The account rep that set up the contract told me to not count on them coming before March. I am stuck in a contract that I shouldn't be in and I am dissatisfied. Slomin's takes advantage of their customers.

Slomin's is 100% better than ADT. Their equipment has great quality and the system’s features are awesome compared to ADT. I love the smartphone feature which was another reason why I switched. Plus, I like to check the weather in the system a lot. The overall functionality and performance of the system are really good. When the rep from Slomin's came in, he explained everything and took the old system out. Then, he put the new system in and showed me all the specs of it even though I already knew because I had it installed in my other house already. Since having Slomin's, I feel more protected. I had an excellent experience and I would always choose them.

I feared being burglarized and I decided to get a home security system. I went online, looked at Slomin's and I got ADT. Somebody played with the website and I got really pissed off with ADT because I don’t like that. I called Slomin's directly. I have them at two houses and I remembered their number since it’s a fairly easy one. I got the salesman out and he went through the house. He and I agreed on where these things should be placed depending on how many I need. I closed one of my houses through the winter and I disconnected the telephone because I didn’t need it. With Slomins, you don’t need a telephone to call out to the central system. It works by WiFi. The installation was smooth enough and the technicians were very good. What I have with Slomin's is better than what I had.
In November, as I was closing up the house through the winter, I had the plumber come out to the house to drain all the pipes, blow out the line and put in antifreeze. When I was going to close up the house, one of the sensors wasn’t on. I called up Slomin's and I explained the situation to them. I begged them to send somebody out that day but they said they couldn’t. So, they made an appointment to send the guy out the next morning between eight and 10 in the morning. He never showed up but he eventually called. He said he couldn’t make it because of the snow yesterday. I told him that he gotta make it because I’ve already closed up the house. He said he was not going through and then, he made an appointment with me for the next Tuesday but I told him to come up on that day. I have no food, no heat, no water and no toilets but he wouldn’t come.
I called Slomin's and I complained to them. I explained my situation to the lady and she felt badly for me. She said that she would have somebody there that afternoon, which was really nice of her. Somebody else came up in the afternoon. Originally, whoever the repair guy was, he should be fired. He said stupid things and I hate stupid comments. In either event, I did get it fixed. It was a very simple one. The guy who who eventually came should be commended because he saw right away what was wrong and it took him five minutes to fix it.
The functionality of Slomin’s system is fine but there’s no consistency. I have one in New York City and one in Wurtsboro, New York. Though the two machines are identical, they’re programmed differently. I asked to have them both programmed the same way but they didn’t do it. I accepted the reason they gave me. They said it was more secure the way they do it but I have an older one and a newer one, and the older one is the way I like it. When you get to be older, you have done it in a certain way and to change is difficult. The change here is calling the police, which I have no desire to do if I’m not being robbed. In either event, consistency between locations is very important with the machinery.
I have on my cellphone my country house application, the app and I have the country house on it. When I wanna switch to the city house, I have to close that app and put in the other address, open that up, put in the username and the password. When I wanna go back to the country house which is where it usually is, I have to do it all over again. I have to close it and reopen it. I should be able to use the same application for more than one house and the more often that I use my flat, little fingers on this little thing, the more errors I make which frustrates me and I’m not in the business of being frustrated.

I am very disappointed Slomin‘s does not offer technician service other than Monday through Friday business hours. This is not acceptable for a security company or any service company in this day and age. When I called to cancel my service, I was informed I would owe over $2000 to do so – outrageous my system is not working properly and I cannot have a technician come when I am available. I have no trust in the company at all.

Closed on my house in the afternoon and the first thing the next morning they were able to install my alarm. My salesman was professional, knowledgeable and punctual. The installer came on time and did an excellent and efficient job as well. I could not have asked for a better security experience. I had truly an excellent experience and would recommend Slomins to anyone.

We got Slomin's security system as a preventative measure and at that time, it was a package. I was getting the oil from them also so we got a lower rate. We got a locked in rate for a couple of years on the oil. The only negative thing is that on occasion when the alarm goes off, they don’t call. That’s happened a couple of times. If you shut it off within a certain period of time, they don’t call you. But in six years, I’ve had no problems whatsoever. In fact, I had tried another system, which I still have, but it was such a rip-off. It isn't funny. It’s from Alarm.com and they were terrible.
I ended up calling Slomin’s and not only did they come, they also updated my system. After five years, they updated the system and the system is wonderful. They put their camera here and it works absolutely fantastically. So that was another thing with Slomin’s. They covered all of my issues. My price went up for like $5 but for me, it was well worth it just to have the cameras. I can also look at it on my phone when I’m out. It alerts me. There’s only one problem that I've had with the update. My key fob keeps falling off and I just got that. It fell off five times already and I’m afraid of losing it. I don’t know what to do about that. But they gave us two key fobs and it doesn’t happen to my husband’s. That aside, they’re very thorough and knowledgeable. They’re courteous too. And those are all important things. My last salesman was Anthony. He came from Slomin's home office and he was great.

Slomins have many great reviews and deservingly so, they provide oil, and security at an affordable price to many Americans who are appreciative. I also am appreciative of the customer service and technicians who have assisted me in securing my home. I just wish that I was made aware of the fact that I would be responsible for the full price of faulty equipment even while it is still being leased. I originally had a wired system from Brinks Home Security (which I also loved) for ten years without issues. When that company sold its alarm division to ADT, I heard that Slomins would take over monitoring with the same equipment for around the same price I had been paying previously.
However, when the technician arrived, he said the equipment was antiquated and a wireless security system would be more efficient and reliable. I agreed to the upgrade, but if I had been made aware of the fact that the wireless technology is powered by average non-lithium batteries and could malfunction before the 5 year lease, and that I would be responsible for paying for each equipment piece that breaks, I would have remained with the more reliable wired system. When my wife had called about the malfunctioning smoke detector the last week of December, she was led to believe that the smoke detector service would be free because the component malfunctioned at no fault to the consumer; however, when addressing the bill received after the service call, the customer service representative indicated the free service was for an upgrade to the system (totally unrelated to the purpose of the original call) and not the smoke detector.
The service representative also insinuated that since there was a signature on the completed agreement with the service tech, that she must have known she would be charged for the smoke detector. Which is inconceivable, if my wife was told that the smoke detector fee would be waived, then a bill with the amount of the equipment would still be presented but waived at the central office. This type of “bait and switch” tactics are commonly used at used car service dealers and scam artist. I feel that if potential Slomins security customers are verbally made aware that they would be responsible for failed equipment, then many would second guess purchasing the service lease for five years with the company.

I had a Slomin’s home security system in a different house. I had a great experience with them for 15 years. I got a newer system with them. When getting things set up, their sales team was fine. At first, I thought the quality was updated. I thought the new system was much nicer than the old-fashioned system that we had. It’s all wireless, which was good. The installation was fantastic. We just moved into a new house. All the walls were already fixed and painted. When they were trying to install it, they didn’t have access to power. What the technician did was commendable. He called his supervisor and said that he couldn't get to the power. The supervisor came and, between the two of them, they figured something out where they didn’t have to break down my walls to run the power that had to be done. I thought that was admirable.
At first, customer service was okay. But now, I’m having some problems and it’s taking a long time to get them rectified, which has me a little bit annoyed. That time, I was having trouble with one of the sensors which kept going off. It would always ring at 2 o’clock in the morning. The alarm company asked me if they needed to send the police. I said no and that I checked everything out and everything was fine. They were willing to stay on the phone, which was excellent. When the service guy came, he was great for the first time. But when it happened again with a different sensor and I couldn't get the service guy for six days.
I had to keep bypassing that one particular zone for six days and that was not acceptable. If I leave the house unprotected, then what do we have the alarm system for? Plus, every time I put the alarm on and then you come in, and I have to bypass that alarm the next time I go back out. It’s not like when I bypass it once, it’s set. I have to keep bypassing it. Unfortunately, we keep running out to the store. Every time we come back in, we have to remember the bypass. If we forget, like we did the other night, it kicked off again at 2 o’clock in the morning.

Slomin's reps came out and we talked about where I wanted my cameras and my monitor. We went over pricing. Thereafter, the techs came out and it was a neat job. They were pretty fast with it. Thus far, I like that I can operate the system from my phone. I use the app all the time and with it, I can watch the cameras and arm the alarm. Since getting Slomin's system, I've been feeling comfortable.

Told Salesman that we may be moving in a few years. We were told no problem, leave the equipment so they could offer a contract to the new owners and they would install equipment at our new home and our payments would go on as usual. After about 2 1/2 yrs I called to stop monitoring and advise about new residence. I was told I had to sell the remainder of my contract to the buyer of my home, of course they did not want to take over my contract, or pay for the remainder of monitoring & equipment.
This suddenly amounted to over $875 payable at once. Told them I would make payments which I started to do. I then received a letter that I had been turned over to collections. Called Slomins and they were very nasty. It took several requests to get name and phone of this collection agency. I called them several months in a row and was advised they were never referred my records but they did do collections for Slomins. I have continued making payments and will stop when I get to the outrageous $875+ to pay it off. Recommend purchasing one of those new technology systems you monitor yourself. Ours works great.

The prior owners of the house had Slomin’s and when we called the company, their representatives were excellent. They explained everything and were very attentive. Plus they gave us a great deal. How could we turn it down? The equipment was there. They just had to reinstate it. We kept the keypad and all the wireless sensors on the doors and the windows. We just added a few more. The representative we dealt with was also good about giving us the remote thing for entering from the car. We got a couple of those. I’m not at the house all the time so it’s reassuring that the system is on and working.

I was given a date for installation. Only by my calling late that day did I find out that Slomin's changed the date without notifying me. A week before it took Slomin's 3 visits within 5 days to fix a leak from the boiler - which was originally scheduled three weeks out even with a service contract. If the boiler had been serviced earlier as requested and not given a date in February 2019 this could have been avoided.

I liked the time I had to buy my oil from Slomin's. They made me a good deal from home security and I've had them ever since. However, there came a time when there was a problem with my system. They put in a new "brain" for it. I spoke with sales and a salesman came to explain everything. Thereafter, they sent a technician who did the upgrade. He did a very good job and I was happy with him. Overall, the cost of the system has been reasonable and I've been happy with the service. I recommend Slomin's.

Overall, I was completely satisfied with the installation and upgrade. I was disappointed when the upgrade was done, I only received one panel and keypad. With my prior system, I had three keypads. My expectation was that I would receive at least two panels/keypads; which would have been similar to my previous system package prior to the upgrade. I have been informed by Slomins that another keypad is $200+. So, if I am upstairs, I cannot hear if someone enters my home through an unlocked door.

SLOMIN IS THE WORST! PLEASE READ BEFORE PURCHASING! My husband and I got Slomins when we saw they were new to the area. We decided to give them a chance even though in the past we used ADT. We immediately noticed that the equipment is was extremely faulty. The "touch screen" was ALWAYS off calibration. When we would touch the screen to put in the alarm code it would constantly choose the wrong number, therefore triggering the alarm! This happened all the time.
Additionally we received the code on the door handle (BIG MISTAKE). Although it seems easy and convenient the panel itself ran out of batteries ALL THE TIME! We would have to change it at least 3 times a month! If you wouldn't change it by the 2nd day then you were locked out! Unless you had a spare key to manually get into your house. The fine print was extremely misleading when we had to move. We called a technician to come out and move our equipment, they told us that it wasn't necessary and that they can easily move it. When we moved OUT of the previous house and called them again they then told us that it was OUR responsibility to move it ourselves!
After feeling distraught we called them to cancel, they said they would call us back SEVERAL TIMES, and NEVER DID. Our bill racked up to $1,200! They of course then harassed us for the money through the mail. We called and they did not care that we had issues in the past or that we were given incorrect information. There is NO empathy with this company, there NO correct information, there is NO consistency. Not only would I NEVER use Slomins again I will make sure no one I know uses this idiotic company. This is by far the worst customer service EVER. I can honestly say I regret ever using them.

My installer Sal gave excellent service. He was professional, very experienced and very neat. It was a pleasure having him work in my home. He worked nonstop throughout many hours without a break. The finished product of the installation of 3 security cameras was perfect. And he set up our App and taught us how to use it.

The keypad is very clear and easy to navigate through the screen settings and operation. I’ve always had Slomin's for the last 20 years. I like the billing cycle of every three months and the price is reasonable. When my alarm goes off they immediately contact the police department. I called to be upgraded and they sent someone out who was very knowledgeable with what I needed. I can now see from my phone whether or not my system is unarmed. I didn’t have that capability before.
It’s a good service. However, sometimes they get things confused. I was a long time standing customer and I didn’t like the corresponding letters they sent. Two times I missed the payment, and they sent me a letter asking if I was gonna continue my services. The tone of the letter was nasty, and I felt offended. I told them, “You sent me such a nasty letter but you never sent me a thank you letter when I pay my bill for a whole year in advance.” That was one of the reasons why I decided to end it but they sent the gentleman to my house and I got a nice service and a nice price so I stayed. I gave it another try. There’s always room for improvement.

We are frequently away for extended periods and decided that we needed to upgrade our security system and add a freeze and water leak sensors. We have been Slomins customers for over 15 years and very pleased with their services but considered purchasing the sensors from independent sources. After much investigation and online searching, we called in Slomins to see what they could do and at what cost.
We decided to go with Slomins and are happy with the decision. The installation tech was FANTASTIC!! And the monthly increase was minor, mostly for the eco sensors. Our base system was upgraded with a new panel box, the fire/smoke detector was upgraded (included), all of the window/door detectors were checked, 2 motion detectors were added at key sites (added one-time cost), the freeze sensor and water leak detector installed. After the installation, the tech completely explained who to use the new keypad. He did not rush at all despite the fact that there was a snowstorm and he was probably looking at 3+ hour trip home. Overall, we are pleased that we did this and remain pleased with Slomins customer service.

I wanted a new security system, and I liked the quality of Slomin's equipment. They also have good customer service and they're very responsive. The installer did a great job, too. I’m happy with the features offered with the system, and the smartphone features are easy to use. I like it a lot. I feel more secure since having Slomin's, and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them.

I have been a Slomins customer for nearly 20 years. My secondary keypad was acting up. I was first told it was a firmware update issue. I was then told that it was because local cell towers were upgraded to LTE and I would need a new radio. I was told the price was $150 for replacement but because I was a long time customer, it would be $27. I have the service contract, but was told upgrades are not covered. As a matter of principle, if they were willing to waive most of the cost, I wanted the full cost waived since (1) I’ve had the service for so long, and I didn't ask for the upgrade. I was told it was required.
My primary keypad, however, continues to work just fine. Even after indicating that at the end of my contract (nine months left) I’ll be canceling, the customer service rep advised me that his supervisors will not allow a waiver of the fee for the device. I asked for the file name for the latest firmware to compare to what I had on my keypad. The rep refused to provide it. When I asked how my main keypad was able to work but my secondary would not, I was given a run-around story about the radio - and that if I didn’t approve of the new radio installation, they would not send a technician to check the system for other issues. Just terrible when you stay with a company for so long considering all of the choices available.

Worst security system and customer service experience ever. Been a customer for only 3 years locked into a 5 year contract. My system has not been fully operational about %90 of the time due to this company's horrible customer service for existing customers. They give you service appointments where you need to wait around all day for several hour window appointments and then they either don't show up at all, come at the very last moment or very late after the scheduled appointment has passed. I pay more than others and get far less features. Another issue is that even though I pay for maintenance service, they insist on charging me a new equipment fee because the equipment they installed 3 years ago is now outdated. Ridiculous. Go somewhere else for a better product and experience. Never had this trouble with ADT.

I had my unit installed about 2 weeks now. Works great for what it is. They ran wires through the wall and did a clean job. We had one motion sensor, one glass break and the controller main unit. Might get some other stuff down the road.

Like upgrade very much because it more user friendly. I no longer have to change batteries. Also like the fact that I no longer have to clean the keyboard. This system has cleansing option built in. Also like having the delay option when you are entering or leaving just in case you are held up for a second or so. Vast improvement from the older system.

I was with ADT for about four years and I called them because I wanted to find out how I could replace the battery in one of my units. Their customer service department said, "Oh, no. We can send a technician for $49. And they can replace it for you." And I told them, "I am a long-time customer. And if you cannot do that as a courtesy, I don't want to be part of you." Also, their prices keep going up every year. I got tired of them. They're too big. I run a family-owned New York company, and I've known Slomins for a long time. I decided to say goodbye to ADT and I switched to Slomins.
The representatives at Slomins have been fantastic! The guy that installed it the system was terrific. He explained everything and he was so patient. My Slomins system has really good features. The app is very basic, but I would love to see an activity report like when the door opens or closes. I have a teenage son and sometimes, he lets his phone run out. I freak out when I can't get a hold of him because his battery run out. I will look at the phone and I'll know he is okay and that he is home. So, the report will be very helpful, especially, to moms like me.

Regrettably my phone did not have enough memory to support the app. viewing live feed from camera. Tech installing system indicated I needed an additional card. As I am 80 years old, not tech savy I requested he advise me exactly what was needed. He indicated he would get back to me. Have called today 11/5/18 for tech support/call in to R. ** rep who sold system, tried to contact tech (Anthony). Nothing. Need to know what I need to get and have tech service come out and install the remaining software on my phone. I need help.

We had Slomins for a number of years before deciding to move to a new home. We had gotten installed a keypad that was stuck to the wall which I could not remove prior to vacating the home. I had called Slomins on the day of the move closed my account and got a manager to approve that the equipment was not removable and I would not be charged for it. Subsequently I received a bill in the mail saying I had a balance due on the account. I have called 3 times and every time a new customer service rep reviews the case and says the account has been closed and nothing due after manager sign off. However the bills keep coming saying I owe them and now I have a letter saying they are referring me to a collection service. This after being a loyal Slomins customer for over 10+ years. Terrible experience that I am now very frustrated with.

We've used tons of home security systems all over the country. We struggled first with people coming in, trying to put their systems here. It was insane because every time somebody comes in, we have to stay at home and wait for them. But this guy, Dave, from Slomin's, came in and he was brilliant. Whenever I do anything, I ask for him to come and be here. He really knows what he’s doing.
Also, the system offered to me by Slomin's is great. I have no complaints. However, to call them up, I have to go through this long series of choices, and I have to wait. All our previous providers would pick up the phone within a couple of seconds and it was a direct contact. There was also this one time that I had the alarm buzzing and I had people here. A friend who stayed with us called me up about it. Fortunately, we were able to turn the alarm off. But what if there is an emergency, and I can't get in touch with them? That's my big gripe. But aside from that, Dave was absolutely fantastic.

I’ve always had a home security system in the past, and with my experience with Slomin's, I opted to use them for a house I just recently bought. I called up to let them know I had a new house and wanted to re-engage and then we set up an appointment. The guy that installed the system was very helpful and he explained everything to me. He did the installation in two hours, he was in and out, very clean, and everything went well. I got the same features that I had in my previous home, and then I added one extra motion detector. I also liked the key fob and the app, and I might get those as well. Those are both definitely useful. Overall, it's a good quality system and I've had a good experience.

We decided to switch to Slomins a couple of years ago. We read through the contract, or thought we did. Turns out we did not have C02 or Fire Alarms. We found that out when we had an alarm go off (standalone fire alarm) due to burning something. No call, so we called them and they said 'nope you do not have fire'. You can add it when the contract renews. Then we decided to cancel the contract and find out it is a 5 year contract. So buyer beware, make sure you understand it is a 5 year contract and make sure you specify EVERYTHING you want, do not assume anything with them.

We opened a new business location and we had a new Slomin’s Alarm System put in two months ago. This system is all new to me because the other one is really old. The button and keypads are all electronic, but everything is good, so far. I signed up for the interaction with my iPhone, as well. The additional increase for the feature we picked wasn’t that much and it was explained to us thoroughly. Also, their technicians are very efficient and personable and they know what they are doing.
Every security system provider in our area is offering the same service with about the same pricing, but I've been using Slomin's services in different business locations and residences for 30 years and I’ve always been satisfied. From time to time, we’ve had a couple of issues with the equipment not functioning properly and they have always taken care of it quickly and efficiently. I would definitely recommend them. And over the past five years, we’ve set up some of my children’s houses with them as well.

Everything with Slomin’s was great. When we would ask the customer service reps a question, they would get back to us. When we needed something done, they sent the servicemen over to do it. We upgraded our security system, and the guys who were here to install were cordial and they knew what they were doing. We asked for all the bells and whistles, and they gave us the new technology with the cameras, smartphone, and looking at the alarm online. Our system serves its purpose, and the cost is good. We’re very happy with Slomin’s.

Slomins has to be the worst alarm/customer service company out there. Everyone that works for the company is rude from customer service reps to those dispatching the fire/police. They lock you into a contract with no way out. The technology is inferior. I asked to move my account to a new house and they had no interest in doing it. They took me to court. Never work with these people!

Slomins is dependable and fairly priced and I always recommend them. I had the home security system put in a long time ago to be secure. They gave me a good deal. The features in the system are good enough and there was some newer stuff that came out, but as long as the system works, I’m with happy with what I have. When I had a wire that evidently had been chewed by some rodent leading to a crawl space, it registered as the door was never closed. Slomins sent out a technician and he was extremely nice. He was competent and was patient when he heard my problem. He found out why the alarm did not work and he was able to fix it. I will stay as a Slomins’ customer as long as they provide the same kind of service that they did.

My old security system was outdated. I started looking at other possibilities and because my daughter had gotten her Slomins a little while before, I looked into it. They have what I needed. They also offered everything that everybody else did at a good price and I didn’t have to change too much in my system. Comparing the cost between a couple other ones and my previous one, Slomins is cost-effective. Their equipment is state-of-the-art. It's nice and I like it. I have been with Slomins for a month and I've had a pleasant experience. Their sales representative was very knowledgeable and informative. He answered all my questions. The technician was nice and also knowledgeable, and the installation only took a couple of hours. I was pleased with Slomins and I would recommend them.

I'm very happy that I have Slomin's. We've had them for 12 years now and we did some upgrade. It took a day for them to do everything with the installation, but everything was good. They were very professional and knew what they're doing. They put a camera and a thermostat, and my sense of security is much more. Also, all of the customer service reps are wonderful. They're very helpful and nice. Whenever I call, they answer and always resolve my issue. I didn't have to pay a lot out of my pocket for the system and I'm happy with whatever I pay.

Back in 1999, I looked up a lot of systems and I saw that Slomin’s was a family-oriented company. Since then, their policies have stayed the same and they've upgraded. Also, anytime that I've had any questions, they've always answered their phones. However, there was a time that I couldn't do it anymore financially. But when I was financially able again, I went back to them because they're a company that is for the customer.
Their sales team was good. They were not pushy and they let me make up my mind. If I wanted an alarm at a certain place, they'd tell me okay but then give suggestions too. What I also liked was that they explained everything. By the time they took me as far as the installation, they asked me if I have any questions and then they took me to everything they were gonna do in my house and what kind of system I needed.
As far as their personnel coming in, they've been efficient and courteous. They've done their work and then cleaned up after themselves. The installer was cordial as well. He acted like I knew him for years. He went to the job and did it. Then, he let me go through the whole system, showed me everything on it, and explained everything about it. The installation was really fast because they used the same wiring from my old system. With the previous alarm on the doors, the installer just took those off and put the new ones up. We also had the one that was hooked up to the phone system which the installer took out and put the new one where that was. Then, I was gonna replace a bad door and they said they would come back and do it. And as soon as I called, a gentleman came straight on out and did what he had to do.
The alarm system is beautiful. It’s got a lot of features and it's excellent. I love the new one because it’s a panel that you just touch and the panel would tell you if you left the door or a window open. Wherever you have your alarms at, it’d tell you that. I can also arm and disarm the system on my cellphone, which I really like because if I forget to arm the system and I’m running out of the house or when I take the groceries or have something all in my hand and I gotta disarm the alarm system, I can do that.
The alarm also gives you a whole minute to get out of the door. Then, when you go out of the door, you can turn off the voice because when any door is open, it tells you which one it is. With the old system, it would be ringing and you've gotta figure out where it is. There's also a feature where you can push a button and Slomin's reps can hear what’s going on in the house without them calling. So, they’re listening on to check if somebody’s bothering you and it’s recorded.
Another thing I like about Slomin's is that when that alarm goes off before you even breathe, they are calling you. And when they do call you, they’re so courteous. They'd also ask you if everything is all right or if you need any help. When the alarm went off the first time and I had to call, Slomin's rep said that they didn't have a number for me to call the police station. The person that answered the phone on weekends, because they weren’t open, took all my information and forwarded it to the company. She didn’t tell me to call this or that, unlike what a lot of other companies do. She said she would do it and when I checked, the company had all the information. With the Slomin's system installed, I feel more protected. They're also a very good company that does not charge for false alarms and has a very reasonable price. I have told people about them.

I've been with Slomins for the last 20 years and my experience with them has been great. When I moved from New Jersey to Florida, I had a new installation done and it went smoothly. The tech was thorough, professional, and knew what he was doing. There was a part that he needed, and he went out of his way to get it and come back, which took him almost two hours. I told him to come back the next day, but he was so dedicated to getting it done. The quality of the system is good. This is a newer version of what I’ve had in the past. In the past, I had the hard-wired while this can go wireless. Slomins is an excellent company. They're responsive and they seemed to be on top of the game, especially with technology.

I decided to upgrade to a touchpad for my alarm. It would cost $8.25 per month more, but okay... Well, they ripped out the old keypad and installed the EXACT same model keypad. No one at Slomins told me why they did this, nor did they apologize for it. But - they DID decide I was still obligated to pay the new rate because "I signed the contract." The sales associate that sold me the new keypad had no explanation why this happened. His manager refused to speak to me, saying "Tell him to call customer service." So I called customer service and they were useless. All they said was "You signed the contract." I got ROYALLY screwed by Slomins. To say I am disgusted is an understatement.

There have been burglaries in the area and I got the Slomins alarm system for my wife's security. This is my second system with Slomins and they have deals for the price. My interaction with them this time was very good but on the previous system, they sucked. I had a problem with the previous system and they would not come out and look at it. But apart from that, my experience with them has been mostly good and the installation has been awesome. The guy was nice and explained everything. I am a big fan of the smartphone features and I use them for monitoring and looking at cameras but I would also like to get the electric locks. The cost is also very fair and the quality is good for the price. I'm happy with the system and I've recommended them.

The guy who installed our Slomin's system was very diligent and on tact. It took him a day and a half to complete the installation. The system we have is remote and not like the old-fashioned kind. I've used the touch feature, but I find it kinda odd because you need to use a stylus. It does not react to your heat like a smartphone does, which I thought what it was gonna be doing. Still, I would recommend Slomin's.

I’ve had the security system for about 10 years and I upgraded it recently. I’ve had a couple of issues where I’ve had to call the customer service of Slomins and they’ve been very helpful. One time, the alarm went off at 2:00 in the morning and I didn’t know what was wrong. I called them and they walked me through it. They were very nice and knowledgeable on the phone.
When I originally got the system, the rep knew what he was doing. When I did the upgrade, the rep walked me through everything too and she was knowledgeable. The installer, Matt, was in and out in no time. It was a very easy and quick process. I had small dogs running around and he was nice with them and he really knew what he was doing. He cleaned up after himself too. I got the key fob which I love. It makes it easy and I don’t even have to touch the panel. When I’m coming in and out of the house and I have a bag of groceries, I don’t have to run to the panel. Anybody that I talk to that talks about an alarm system and even if they've never had one, I really recommend Slomins.

Called today to be proactive prior to the cold weather coming. I wanted to schedule a furnace tune up per my service contract. Was told the earliest appointment they have is in April 2019. That right, 7 months from now. Just after winter ends and the nicer weather arrives. Also 3 months after my contract expires. How can a service organization get away with this? Would anyone reading this seriously consider using them as a heating company? And based on their reviews on the security side of their business they are no better there.

I called Slomins this morning. I have become deaf. I need to add a device that will shake my bed to wake me up in case of a fire. I needed to know if my existing alarm was a T3. The representative didn't know. She asked a supervisor and I was told that she "didn't think so." Replacing the alarm system will be expensive but it is a necessity for me. I was disappointed that Slomins couldn't be bothered to get me a definitive answer. I was very disappointed and will certainly look elsewhere for a replacement.

We have had a Slomins security system in our home for more than 20 years and we are completely satisfied. We recently upgraded/updated a few features of the system and the salesperson and technician that helped us determine what we needed were both very professional and helpful. The technician put in a very full day of work in the heat and humidity to install the new features and worked until the job was completely done. He was in every level of our house and was very efficient and neat. He was patient and took the time to answer questions about the installation when we wanted to understand how things were going to work and be set up. I had an alarm system with ADT but I didn’t like their service. Their billing was too confusing, so I cancelled it and then my son recommended Slomin's Alarm Systems. The rep was pleasant enough to deal with and he gave me a lot of information. The quality of the equipment is fine and I like the panel because it’s big and I can see everything on it. I also like using the remote which I have two of. Slomin's is an easy to use and competent system and the billing is straightforward.

I agreed to have a new alarm system installed. The sales and installation process went fine and then we received an invoice for fees already paid and alarm permits which we already have and it the permit # was provided to the salesperson. It took four calls to resolve the issue, one of which was with an obnoxious manager who was rude. Also, the App does not function in the manner the salesperson presented. I called and canceled the use of the App which is at an additional fee. Totally not worth it. If I had it to do again, I would not have switched from my existing service provider.

A friend of mine has Slomin's and he was happy with it so I gave it a try. They put it in complementary and they got that back on the monthly fee. They offered a free camera but I didn't want one so I got the extra keypad for upstairs. They've been good. The salesman was not high pressure and was excellent. The service guy was also very professional and courteous. He set everything up with the old keypads while he put the new keypads and checked the system. The keypads are good. At least when he was here, everything was good. The installation took him a little over half a day.
Last night at around 12:30 the alarm went off. I went to the pad upstairs and it said that the family room windows were breached. So I went downstairs. A technician is coming today but not for this problem. But since it occurred, hopefully, he can take care of it because I've never seen an alarm system go off when the windows were closed and functional. I've only had the system for almost two months and so far, so good until last night. I had to call Slomin's and tell them not to call the police. Hopefully they can fix whatever went wrong. Other than that, the system is very intuitive and has different zones you can arm and disarm from your smartphone which is nice. So in case I had my son-in-law coming in, I can disarm it and then arm it when he leaves if I'm not home. It's got some neat features.

We were sold on the cameras based on what we were told by the sales rep. When the installer came it was not the same experience. The app does not work with the camera. We had to download another app and it’s not very user friendly especially for a tech savvy person. The alerts drain my battery and there is no way to limit the amount I get. The sensor goes off and when I review the video I see no movement. It was requested I sign a cancellation policy stating I can cancel in 3 days but the installation didn’t take place for two week after so how would I have known. The installer was great and went the extra mile to try to make up for all the incorrect promises the sales rep made.
UPDATED ON (9/12/2018): After my original review I was contacted by a Slomins representative who took the time to listen to what my complaint was and he genuinely offered a resolution that allowed me to obtain what I was originally promised. This definitely turned a not so great experience to a better one and I am actually happy to have been able to deal with this him.

I was with ADT for ten years then I switched over because Slomin's had a lower monthly monitoring cost. But when you have to call, you get through to an ADT person almost immediately. With Slomin's, you have to sit on hold for five minutes. It’s ridiculous. The few times I've dealt with their representatives were totally positive though. The equipment is also the same as I had before but the control panel is more modern so I’m happy about that.

In my other life, I had to deal with a lot of security issues and I didn’t like the other company. On the other hand, Slomins Alarm Systems is a good company that produces a good product. Also, they're bigger and have more prettier signs. Their customer service team was good. They came over when they were supposed to and the installation went fine. They knew what they were doing. We’re just having one issue with one motion detector ‘cause it seems to be going off and we can’t figure out why, but that’s it.
I would have liked three signs, though. That would make me happy. The sales guy and the installation guy didn’t have any so I had to call the office and they said I could only have two. I wanted one for the other side of the property and they said no. Also, I wish the instruction manual was a bigger print. But Slomins is a reputable company. They do a good job and they’ve been in business for a while.

We had a security system in our other house about seven years ago. When we purchased this house, it already had Slomin's in it so we just activated and updated it. Our interaction with their sales team was fabulous. They sent over a representative and he gave us knowledge of the system. He was top notch and he knew what his stuff is. He told me exactly what I should do 'cause I was overboard on some of the security. We also added some extra security which was not done by the prior owners of this house so that came up really good. We have everything secured from the garage to downstairs to upstairs.
The features and the security equipment itself is awesome 'cause they went right into work the first month we had it. I just had a fire in my house so in between trying to get my kids and the dogs out, the fire alarm rang. They were probably trying to call me, but I was too busy trying to get stuff situated. They called the fire department, and the fire department came to my house to help out tremendously. The system is number one in my book for now. I also use its smartphone feature all the time. We get a chance to just look and arm the alarm on if we forgot it. Slomin's is a known brand and its cost in relation to its quality is a very good deal. I'll trade it in for nothing. It's definitely a high tech security. We love them on the house and we're happy with it. If someone asks me about Slomin's, I would tell them they better get it quick.

We moved to a new home and I called the Slomin’s representative to whom I was referred to through my nephew. He came and gave me some good deal. I shopped around and they were okay in pricing. It was what we could get that was in the marketplace. They have good equipment, and the system is wireless, too. They offered a lot of stuff but as you get more, the prices go up like the smartphone feature which costs extra $5 a month. We just needed the basic alarm system and that was what we went with. That guy who did the installation was nice and knowledgeable, and everything was good. We like Slomin's and we would refer other people to them. They're a local company on Long Island so we're not calling other states and that’s another good thing.

I was with ADT and I wanted to switch over. And for years, my family had Slomins. The installation was excellent. An older man and a younger guy came and they were excellent. They answered all my questions and they constantly asked me. They were concerned if they did it right according to my standards. One thing that I like better about ADT was the keypad and I can turn the alarm on or off on the internet. But with Slomins, I like the setup and the price. Also, it’s cost-efficient. The payment is every three months instead of paying monthly. I like the features in my system and I like how the weather comes up on the screen. Also, I like where I can look and see how many times the alarm has been turned on or who turned it on.
I have the smart features of Slomins but it doesn’t work. It would constantly ask to refresh the panel or call the number. And every time I call, the people would tell me to refresh it or clear the PIN. I should have had an extra pad in my basement because I never go out in my front door. I come in and out through my driveway in my garage. I have to run through the house and it only gives me a certain amount of time to turn it off. The app needs to be tweaked to be better but it’s not reliable. I like having a keypad. It’s easier to just hit the keypad as opposed to having to go on my phone to turn it off before I go home, as well as going online.
For the most part, I like Slomins better and I love it. I get more with them than with ADT. I compare all the pros sometimes so I’m just gonna continue and stay with Slomins because I really like the features. All their representatives were wonderful and the customer service is good. They try to tell everything that they learned as far as the issues. So, they were telling me that a lot of people have a lot of problems depending on the cellular company. I have T-Mobile and a lot of their complaints come from a lot of T-Mobile carrier. They pointed that maybe it could be the connection with the carrier from T-Mobile as opposed to other people when it comes to WIFI and wireless. I was a little disappointed too because I no longer have wireless in my house so I wasn’t able to get the camera feature. I see the promotional on TV for the free smoke detector and I like that. I’ll maybe get the free smoke detector.

I’ve had this alarm system installed less than a week ago and the app worked for 1 day. I called. The lady was rude and blamed it on Verizon. I looked up the reviews and this app has had this problem for a long time. This was the main reason I decided to go with Slomins. I would like to cancel. The rep advised me that I had 30 days to cancel with no cancellation fees.

My alarm went off July 21st, a female representative went through the call list until she reached my elderly mother-in-law and told her according to my mother that our house was being burglarized and she was calling the police. I expected the rep to ask mom if everything was ok, give her a chance to get in contact with us before she went ahead and called the police. If no one was available I understand the police being called.

The install job was great; however I did not know about the key-chain remotes until after the fact. Also I believe I am supposed to register with the town but no one told me for sure. The sales supervisor said the install guy will go over but it was 100 degrees on 07/13/18 and he was there for half a day just rewiring and hooking up cameras. Who is supposed to tell me what to inform my homeowners insurance? Or Town permits? Also the video camera would be a nice option too. Only one device can be logged into the system at a time. Which both my husband and I have OCD so we want to check out our 1st home all the time.

Technician was very rude... used very vulgar language, I had to walk out of the house and call our local sales rep to complain about the tech's professionalism. I never received a callback from a supervisor regarding the matter, even after I threatened to throw the tech out of my house! I only went through with the install at this point because he had already torn apart my wall. He initially blamed the builder of my brand new house on construction. Destroyed my wall, which had brand new paint, told me my wife said "we have to fix it anyway" which was a blatant lie. Also told me I shouldn't have done a wireless set up... that it was smarter to have originally wired the house for an alarm system, which is the exact opposite of what the original salesman recommended. Mind you, this is all on the first day that I actually moved into my brand new house! Alarm works fine which is why I gave a 2 star rating...but I will never recommend Slomin's to anyone based on how poorly the initial install went.

Been with them a while now. Always good service and response times when my alarm goes off. Much needed security in these times helps protects my family as well as our home. I wasn’t happy with the company I had. I switched to Slomin's and they are 100 times better. They had a rep come over who explained everything to me and told me he was gonna match up everything that I had here. Then he set up the date and time for one of the technicians to come. And he showed up on time and did a nice job. He was also very polite and professional. It was a great experience.
So far, I’m happy with the system I have. The other company I had came in and did an upgrade then nothing was right. From the keypads to the wireless, it was horrible and they couldn’t fix it. So, they came back and tried to fix it. But the guy didn’t have the part. And from what I understood, they use outside technicians. They don’t use their own people. But the guy from Slomin's that came and took everything out was a rep from the company. He was in full uniform and he didn’t understand why the other company would send outside contractors to do that.

In all of the years that I have had your system I only used it when I was at home because if the telephone lines when down, which happened a lot, the alarm would ring but not in your station. Now I will try it during the day.

I still stand with my original review and will give three stars because it was nice that the company cares about their customer. I still think the company needs for surpervision on customer services. Wanted to have my alarm upgraded so I can monitor from my iPhone. Signed up for the new display units but tech was nice enough to let me know that my current system was better and I only needed to add a cellular module. Great advice from the tech! I wish I didn’t have to sign up for another 5 year contract since I really just added a module to my existing alarm system.

There was a mix up with our order when the installer came to the house. He didn't mention the doorbell cameras were back ordered and had the wrong type of sensor for our shed. He was very respectful of our property and finished his installation quickly. However when I called customer service with a problem the lady I was first connected to was unhelpful, rude and a bit arrogant. I became very frustrated and hung up. When I called back the gentleman I was connected to was very helpful and understanding. Kind of hit or miss.

I've had a Slomin's security system for the last 20 years. We sold our hold house and just purchased another so we put Slomin's in there also. I liked how I'm familiar with them and how they work. My husband said that we should just stick to what we had when I looked into other companies. This time around, the Slomin's salesman who came out was very personable and knowledgeable. The system that we have in our house that we sold is totally different than the system that they installed in our new house. He knew all about the upgraded new system and explained it. Installation of our new system took about an hour but their guy was quick. Overall, the system is great and it's not expensive at all. Slomin's is a reliable company and they're on top of things.

I’ve had ADT for almost 30 years in three houses. I was just not happy with their service and I got rid of them for Slomins Alarm Systems. A salesperson came in, sat down, told us everything, and worked out a good deal. It was also much cheaper than what ADT offered and we were an existing customer. The service of Slomins was excellent so far. The installation was quick, clean, and the installer showed me everything. He was very good. I’m very happy with Slomins. I would recommend them for their service, price, and installation.

I live by myself so I bought a home security system. I had Slomin’s for years before but I discontinued for about a year when I had to move. When I got another place, I got Slomin's again. I've had them again for about a month now and a little expensive than it was before. However, my recent experience hasn't been good. The backdoor is locked but the security system kept saying that the backdoor is open and it showed, "System not ready."
Slomin's sent a technician to deal with it. He had to replace the little piece on the door. He said that maybe that one was bad. Now, the new one is doing a little better, but now and again, it still does the same thing. Some days, it’s okay and then on the next day, it isn’t so I plan to call them about this problem again once I come back from my vacation. Other than that, Slomin's customer service is good and I would still recommend them. Other people could try it and maybe they might not have the same issue that I’m having as I’ve never had this issue before.

The representative we dealt with at Slomin's was excellent and the technicians were very good. They were respectful, honest and knowledgeable. They helped me through it all and they told me how to do the things. We had a security system before with ADT but Slomin's pricing is way better and I needed a security system for our business at our home. The features are also nicer and the little keypad is beautiful. But I need another keypad ‘cause my house is pretty big and when the doors open, I cannot hear it in my room. That spooks me.
The smartphone features are cool but it doesn’t let me see the times that the doors are opened and closed. If I wanted to see when an employee comes in, it doesn’t tell me like ADT. That aside, the system works good and I like it. It's self-explanatory and the overall performance is perfect. It's reasonable and really reliable. The other day, I was in my kitchen and it said the garage door opened. I was there by myself and I got so scared. It turned out that I had left the door a little open and when the air conditioner came on, it may have blown it. But I liked the way it spoke and alerted me.
