The salesman was a complete gem. He was friendly and showed genuine interest in my home and its security. He answered all my questions and was very knowledgeable. The installation technician was quick and very polite. I was impressed by his knowledge of the system he was installing for me.

Our salesman was very knowledgeable and answered all of our questions. Our installer was punctual, knowledgeable, friendly and very personable! He explained everything we needed to know in detail and answered all of our questions. This is our first alarm and we felt very comfortable with it after installation. From what I understand, a good installer makes all of the difference in the service. So far so good. We are happy customers.

Wonderful experience with sales rep and service. They took out all of ADT butcher job, they put in a failed system. The Slomins repairman fixed it all. The new Slomins works just great. I'm very happy with the job they done. ADT charges a lot of money for very bad service.

My salesman, Steven **, was terrific. I was with a competitor for 4 years that did everything remotely. Steven took the time to understand my changing needs and recommended a number of improvements to our protection that provided greater peace of mind now that our kids are home alone for periods of time. The installation was flawless, everything was done as promised, the installer arrived timely, removed all the old equipment for me and left my home in good order. I love the new panel and the technology is clearly of higher quality than my prior provider. Steven did everything he could for us to keep our initial cost down, and our monthly monitoring expense is 25% lower than my prior provider.

I had a camera system installed on April 11th. It has not worked since then, and as much as I have contacted customer service and I.T., I have gotten nowhere. I have been paying for something that I do not have use of... I expected better.

A friend of mine recommended Slomin's alarm system, and I have been using it for about a month now. Their service is real good. They are very informative from the start-up, to the initial sale, up to the initial installation. The installation was very easy and self-explanatory, so it was really good. I feel safe with the system. Every time I go in or out of the house, I get a notification on my cellphone or an alert when my premises have been entered or my daughter leaves for school. I also like the camera features. However, I have a wired camera now and I'm still waiting on the wireless camera to be received and installed. But my overall experience has been really well and I would highly recommend them.

Somebody came and installed the Slomins security device for us. We had a very pleasant experience with it and we're very satisfied with the package we got. Then we recently called to have someone come back and put in smoke detectors and the team was very friendly. I certainly feel safer since having the system.

With ADT before, I was paying a lot more for monitoring and and I owned my own equipment. They wouldn't bring their price down. That's what motivated me to switch to Slomin's. I had a pleasant experience when the salesperson came to the house. The company only had to install the transmitter because I have everything else already set up so that went smoothly. The technician just had to go through some debugging of Slomin's hardware. With their security system, I have peace of mind.

I wanted an alarm system. So when I heard that Slomin's was good and they were having a special, it was appealing to me. They were very accommodating too so I went with them. The system was easy to install and everyone was wonderful. They took care of all my questions and every need. I moved to Jersey in February and I went right back with them for the security system because I had the same type of experience in Philadelphia when I had them. I moved to a safer place but I still wanted their system because I have a nephew that's on drugs and I need to monitor the system for when he comes and goes.
Slomin's was nice enough to accommodate my needs without saying anything to anybody in the house. They kept everything low key. On the other hand, I was confused about the latest system that's working for a special need that I had and I thought it wasn't working properly so I called the other day. They called me back and they were accommodating. The rep that I talked to didn't understand what I was saying so I guess it was a little frustrating for her. Maybe I didn't understand the system when they installed it and I thought it worked a certain way when they showed me. But then when I went back in, I'd seen that it worked in a different way. She was trying to explain it to me and I wasn't quite getting it at that time but she was good. But other than that, I'm very satisfied with them and overall, my experience has been wonderful.

Slomin's is excellent. I can turn the alarm system on or off from my phone. When I call them for any question, they answered right away. They have been very professional and courteous. I was also very impressed with the installers. They came when they said and cleaned everything up.

As soon as we bought the house seven years ago, we signed up with Slomin's. The previous homeowner had a security system installed and Slomin's was able to use what they had and just started over with a new contract. They checked everything during the installation. We've had technicians before and they were good. When we first started, it was only the standard doors and windows. A month ago, we upgraded to the digital touchscreen, the wireless one and that's a new feature we really enjoy. We can also access it through our cellphones. It's convenient when you run out of the house and forget to turn the alarm on. At least, you can check and see if you did or didn't do it.
The Slomin's app on my phone is very user-friendly. It's pretty simple when you arm or disarm the system. But, it’s the waiting to make everything happen every time for a minute. We definitely felt much safer knowing that the system is there. There have been instances when it randomly goes off and that's a little startling in the middle of the night when you think maybe there's an intruder. However, we know that a glitch might happen with all systems every now and then. Slomin’s customer service reps were good. But, the last time we had issues with the windows and we were troubleshooting it, we had three technicians come back and forth and try to fix it. It's an inconvenience until they finally got it fixed. Other than that, it's been very good experience in general.

We use Slomins for our home and our hospital, and our experience with them has been very good. We were here for when they set up the alarm and they were very thorough and professional. They worked very diligently and got everything installed. We've been using them for about 23 years and we keep renewing our package with them because we trust them. And when they offer a good promotion, we realize that it's a good deal and we continue staying with them. We just got the two outdoor cameras and an indoor camera because recently, somebody had my key and I was afraid they made a copy of it. So, I thought it would be a smart thing to have the cameras outside.

When we moved in here 33 years ago, my brother-in-law was using Slomin's for oil, and I've been using them from the day I moved in the house in 1983. I also have a primary security package from them. I had the device installed five years ago because I wanted to feel safe in the house, and Slomins did the job. In fact, they did more than they even said they would do because it was a harder job than they expected, but they didn't charge me more. They just included it and I've been with them ever since. I feel that they're very good and I'm very satisfied with their services so far. Their sales and service people are all very efficient, nice, and polite. It's very easy to deal with them. They do what they say they will, and they tell me what the prices of everything are very fairly. Also, they give me an upgrade every five years.
As for the alarm, it goes off like an earthquake. I leave it on when I'm home and I feel safe. When it gets set off by mistake or for some reason that we don't know, we call Slomins and their team members are right on it. The police comes as well in a minute or two. The only time that there was a lag was when it was Sandy because 7000 people were down. And I was very scared in the house because there was no alarm. After the first day or two, the battery backup saved. And I even have a new system now that you can cut the phone line and shut it down. It's very awesome. Aside from the alarm, they're very competitive with their oil prices, too. So to me, Slomins is a very good company.

I'm 100% satisfied with Slomin's. I used them at my previous address and I'm still using them at my current one. Their installer was very helpful and very kind. He was on time and he was perfect at never walking on my rug. Then he had one of the shoe pad things to put over his shoes. He listened to all my concerns and he did what I wanted to get done. When there's anything that needs to be taken care of or fixed, Slomin's always send a technician to take care of it and they do a really good job. They were also good at when my husband has his little ups and downs with the security. I can be in my home without worrying that someone's going to break into it and not getting help being sent to me. Slomin's is the best security system to have in your home. My experience with them has been great and I would recommend them.

I'm very satisfied with my experience with Slomin's. I signed up for their takeover package with regular monitoring and they used my existing equipment. I was with ADT before, but their service was horrible. Slomin's is a million times better so far. They answer questions, show up when they're supposed to and do the right thing. Marty, the sales rep, was very knowledgeable and their installer also went above and beyond. He was here eight or nine hours. A few of the receivers on the windows wouldn't work with the new system, but he did the right thing and didn't charge us for them, although he got permission through somebody. Since getting Slomin's, the alarm's no longer going off at 3:00 AM for no reason.

I love Slomin's. I used ADT in the past but Slomin's is 75% better. With ADT, we could hear a little beep when the door opens so sometimes we won't even know if someone comes in but with Slomin's, we can clearly hear when the door opens so we absolutely know when someone enters. When I had the ADT, I never armed it but since I've got the Slomin's, I arm it every night and every time I leave the house. I feel safe both when at home or not. The system is great and I'm grateful I have it.

Signing up with Slomins was convenient and I also liked the offer that they were running at that time. Installing the security device was very easy and the installation team was very professional. They cleaned up afterwards. Everything has been in working order, and I've been happy with Slomins since I got them 5+ years ago. I have more peace of mind. Their customer service is always wonderful and they’re very prompt. I was off contract for about 2 two years but I never left them. In fact, I just renewed and they offered me little incentives. I am very satisfied with them. They are a very good company.

I had Slomins' alarm system before but I switched to Comcast. Their security system had cameras but it's all wireless and I had to replace the batteries every time I turned around. So I went back to Slomins since everything is in the wall and everything is on a fixed system. I don't have to worry about anyone cutting the alarm system too, because if they do, it'll trigger the alarm. I also have a key so I can simply press it to set my alarm on and off. I like that it chimes so I'll know that the alarm is on and chimes double when the alarm is off. But Slomins' surveillance cameras are overpriced way too much so I didn't get them. Another thing is that the keyboard could be a little bit more updated and wireless. But I still like their system and I'm satisfied. My wife also feels more secured having it. I would recommend Slomins.

I never respond questionnaire but I felt I should. I have always been very impressed with my alarm system and the personnel that I talk to at Slomins if I ever had an issue. Last week there was forecasted a "major" snowfall for the area and I was scheduled for the install on the day it was going to hit us. Sunday to my surprise I had received a phone call asking if they could install on Monday. I was really impressed. I thought I was going to be delayed at least a week because of the snow. They were able to work around my crazy schedule to accommodate me. Eric the alarm installation tech was very professional. He instructed my wife and I on how to use the new keypad was very informative. In short I just wanted to say thank you for employing good people. From the person that I spoke to about scheduling to the install tech. Very professional and polite. My wife and I feel safe knowing that we have Slomins looking after our house!!!

It was very easy to order Slomins shield. The sales person was very nice giving good information without being pushy. I convinced my family to switch to Slomins based on the experience I had with Slomins for my apartment a few years ago. Initially Slomins canceled the appointment date that I requested without confirmation or enough notice to reschedule. After several emails I was able to get a convenient date for the install. The installer was very good but I was told that the camera I requested would not be installed because they are on backorder (the camera and a recent incident that would have been caught on video were the primary reasons I was prompted to get Slomins for my home).
I was told that the camera is part of a promotion and free so I do not qualify for a temporary discount until the camera becomes available; I was not given a date for their availability. It's also inconvenient to schedule another appointment once the camera becomes available. Unless I receive the camera shortly I will probably not recommend Slomins in the future, I did not expect to not be given a date by customer service. Part of me feels duped and I am disappointed which is why I was prompted to do this review.

I had an system from two other companies but like when my old company desired to increase the rate I made a decision to switch to Slomins. Trust me it's not worth your time or money. They sell a system which is not going to work and 100% guaranteed to fail. In three month I had to call 6 times for service and every time a new problem comes up. When you call them they tell you that they do not make the product but only servicing it, but did not I buy your service? Note you will not get the same day service and not even a next day, it will be based on technician availability and service hours are M-F, no weekend, however you will get a 6 hour window, it does not matter what if you pick morning or afternoon you will have to take time from work. And yes all this time you will not have working security systems, if you think you will save money with Slomins think again. It's not worth it.

We have had Slomin's for 15 years. Quite satisfied with service. Installers have been great, but the last upgrade technician was the best. Very thorough and explained how to use our new digital system with ease. Newer systems match updated look and tell you which door/window was open and when.

The technician who installed the security system was on time, pleasant, courteous and a good worker. He worked neatly and quickly and made sure I was familiar with the system before he left. With the installation, I feel more confident now that my property and myself are safer. I would definitely recommend Slomin's.

I have a proposal in writing from Mr. ** that I have to pay for the extra keypad and the 2 smoke detectors are free. I got a bill now to pay for 2 x 216.50 for a equipment fee of total $433. I do not see a separate listing of the equipment charges, so I'm guessing somehow the contract is set up wrong and I'm being charged for something that was supposed to be free. I have been calling Mr. ** since two days, since the main office customer service agents are telling this is between him and me and not their problem. So I feel pretty much left alone with my wrongful charges now, since I do not know who to turn to. I still have the written proposal here at home. I would very much appreciate help in this matter. Mr. ** was very friendly, professional, so I don't understand why is not calling me back or his office number is busy all day.

The installer was good and very friendly. We're 100% satisfied with Slomin's service. My wife feels more relaxed being at home with the alarm because I work at night, so it makes it easier for me. However, Slomin's needs to improve on their camera system. I want another camera but I don’t think I can afford a $500 camera because it’s too expensive.

I install telephone systems and Slomin's is a customer of mine. I have many choices but I might as well use somebody that uses me. I used them first for my oil and heating services when I bought my home three years ago, and I was happy with that. I reached out to a friend of mine at Slomin's and told them that I'd be interested in adding the alarm with my oil. One guy came and he was knowledgeable, showed me how to use everything and did a great job. We’re very happy and feel much better now with the alarm system. I would highly recommend Slomin's.

A Slomins salesperson was walking in my neighborhood and approached me when I was getting my mail asking if I would want a fixed price for home heating oil at a set price. I then told him "I'm not interested and my dad owns this home and I rent from him so my dad takes care of getting oil." Salesman then said he could just write me up a fixed price for oil and show my dad and see if my dad would be interested. So me feeling bad for the guy I said "ok". He showed me the paper and I had to sign it to lock me in to the price per gallon of oil. Of course my dad wanted nothing to do with it so I thought nothing of it. Skip ahead 2 weeks I'm standing in my kitchen and a Slomins oil truck pulls up to my house to deliver oil.
He never came to the door so I ran outside and yelled "excuse me what are you doing". He says "delivering oil. You are a new customer." I said "I don't know where you got that information but I never contacted Slomins about becoming their customer." He says "oh ok. So you are refusing the oil delivery?" I said "yes that's right." He gets in his truck and I precede to call Slomins and ask why they are trying to deliver oil. Lady then says to me because I signed a contract. I said "I absolutely did not sign a contract. I only signed a fixed price agreement." She then said no I signed a contract and that if I wanted to cancel I would need to pay a $500 cancellation fee. I then proceeded to curse this woman out because they were definitely trying to scam me. I told her "the salesman did not say it was a contract. He only said a fixed price. So you are scammers and my dad is a lawyer and she will be hearing from his law firm" and I hung up on her.
Not 10 seconds later she called me back and said she was very sorry and I was right and that I wouldn't have to pay cancellation fee. So ok all that is fine BUT I am baffled by the fact this salesman and Slomins themselves literally tried to scam me and if I was not home to stop this man from delivering oil I bet that that delivery of oil would of locked me into a contract. Unbelievable so I want everyone to be aware of what you're signing from Slomins. I read the paper I signed but what it read was a fixed price guarantee but they worded this paper in such a way to make me think I was signing a fixed price for oil when I was actually signing a contract with them...BEWARE OF SLOMINS. THEY ARE SCAMMERS.

The cameras are horrible. I was told I would have audio. Now not true. I was told I could have alerts. Now not true. I was told I would get the camera I saw on the website. Not true. Again the salesperson lied to me and I should have known better when they did this to me when I moved but decided to give them a second chance. Cameras go out, record clips randomly and I am blown off when I call. This is insane from a security company. Don't feel secure at all.

I've been using Slomins for a little over a month, and I like it better than my previous provider. I got the wall-mount and the motion detectors, and it's more updated than my old provider. The installer was on time, quick and efficient. He explained everything to me, so it was good. He was friendly too. I'm very satisfied with the service and I feel a little more secure because I would know immediately on my phone if something's going on.

I had Slomins previously and I had ADT as well but the cost was twice of Slomins, so I had Slomins installed recently again and it was easy. They were done in a matter of two hours. The salesman and the techs were excellent, too. I surely feel more secure ever since using Slomins and I'd definitely recommend them.

The salesmen didn't explain it's a 5 year contract. Just handed us the contract and sign. So far we are happy with them but if we aren't we can't cancel. They have us locked!! Also cameras for our house 300.00, with actor comes with the package and you just pay extra monthly.

Everything seems to be good. The Slomin's team was here when I came home from work and they were very polite and courteous. They were visiting with my husband and leaving as I was coming home because everything was all done and it seems fine.

I like the wireless upgrade to my system went and I was pleased with the installation. The only problem is I don't understand why the video surveillance camera was not included in my basic package. Slomins is currently advertising that as a free item to be included.

There has been a lot of quarrels happening along my area and I've seen other people who have Slomins so we decided to get it. The installation docs were pretty clear and everything was easy. We had one incident, accidentally, and everything was pretty fast. We've had less worries since we got the system and the app works really well on the phone.

With Slomins, you have a secure place to live because you have an alarm system that's efficient. I've used Slomins for 11 years now. I've had parts that had to be replaced and they came out, then I recently had an upgrade, so my interactions with them were great. They've had excellent people who are concerned about your needs and not just what they can offer as far as additional features just to get you to spend money. I always felt it was about security and feeling secure in my home environment. When I met with the initial Slomin's contact person, I was very impressed by his presentation and that's what made me go with them. The man was very honest about what I needed and what I didn't need.

The upgrade department over the phone explained a system that fills my needs. The person answered every question. The tech did a great job installing my new system and explaining how to operate the unit. Nice guy and very helpful.

System was installed and is satisfactory at this time. The installer showed up on time and was very knowledgeable. The installer went out of his way trying to find and install the Slomin's App, but after many attempts he found out my phone was not an Apple or Android. The installer even found some faults with my system from my last security company and repaired them.

Touch keypad stopped working after only being installed a few months and the alarm would not stop. Slomins said there was nothing they could do remotely to shut it off and we had to unplug in the basement. Worst part is that they charged us to swap out the defective box. We are locked into 4 year agreement and will not go with them again. How can you charge hundreds to your customer for your defective equipment?

The sales rep I talked to was very nice and professional. He spoke with a lot of details and if he didn't have the answer, he called somebody right away and get the answer for me. The installer was very polite, too. He knew his stuff, explained things to me which was great and did the installation really quickly. I enjoyed it. Everything was nice and smooth. With Slomins, I know that my family is secured and I'm secured at night. And even when were not there, I feel fine. I opened the door a couple of times by accident while checking the alarm off and it really works. So it's good. I would definitely recommend Slomins. Also, I have a couple of people that have ADT right now and are just waiting to finish their contract so that they can contract with Slomins.

I'm an electrician by trade. 25 years ago when I moved out here to New Jersey, being from Brooklyn, I put up a local alarm system in my home. Over the years, we stopped using it because we live in Somerville, New Jersey. Someone forced their way into the house and I wasn't using the alarm at the time. I had been hoping that Slomin's truck would go by and sure enough, I'm working in my garage and the guy was canvassing. He came up to me and his supervisor pulls up, we did a quick walk-through of the house and I signed up. I always had my eye on ADT and Slomins but I liked Slomins' whole arrangement. They had a free equipment and also, I paid three months upfront and I won't get a bill for four months. That was pretty nice.
My wife is from Staten Island, and the installer was Anthony from Staten Island, New York so we immediately got along really well. The installation was really nice. The guy was personable and a dog person. We have an 80-pound Hound dog named Bella and we had to set the alarm to not see her. He used a pair of wires that I had where my keypad was. So we took my keypad out, he put his keypad over it. The wires were right there, we went in the basement, hooked them up, plugged it in and that went beautifully. He was standing to the side wall, I was punching in codes and he is calling out the screens as if he was standing in front of the thing. He was very knowledgeable about the equipment, in no hurry to run away, and explained everything really clearly. I'm very impressed.
I feel a lot better leaving the house now, knowing that the alarm is there. I used to be setting the alarm all the time when I leave the house but now, everybody is getting used to using it. So once in a while we I get home, I have to turn it off. But most of the time when I get home, my wife or my daughter is already home. Last week, my daughter set off the alarm and nobody called me. So I called and I found out she got to the keypad rather quickly. She shut it off within a reasonable amount of time and they didn't even get a signal. But if something happens, I'm going to get a phone call to tell me that something is going on. In addition, if someone forces you to turn off the alarm, you punch in ** which will turn off the alarm, but it immediately sends the police which is really cool and I have recommended them to all the people.

The installation was not completed. I am still waiting for my thermostat to be installed. I have called the company multiple times to schedule but I am still waiting. The installer came out on a Saturday as this is the only day I am home and I have been waiting for 2 weeks for someone to come back out to install the thermostat which should have been done the first time. This has been a huge inconvenience and I am not satisfied.

For the past month I have called customer service several times to cancel service because I'm selling my house. Every time I call they tell me that department 'unavailable' but they will definitely call me back. No one calls back. Each time I call, I'm on hold, then give all the information, and it's the same thing. I guess I have to cancel my credit card to cancel? Completely unacceptable and inconsiderate of their customers' time and money. I guess I'll go on to YELP and Twitter next?

A nice sales guy put in the request for new services at my home for the alarm system. The technician did not properly hooked up the system. He had to come back which inconvenienced me because I had to stop what I was doing and go back home. After days of having the service I noticed that after arming the system I would come home and the system did not go off or alert. It still showed that the home was being armed. The second time I called the customer service just to get an unempathetic specialist who in a nutshell told me that it was user error and ran tests.
Today I come home and again the system did not go off but clearly shows on because it asks me to disarm. This time I contacted customer service again without touching the alarm so that they can see it's not user error. Either the technician did not have a clue of how to properly hook up the system or the system is clearly failing me and my family. The associate was able to see that it was not user error and placed me on hold to schedule a tech appt and the call disconnects. Can you believe that he did not attempt to call back given the importance of the situation... This is ridiculous and I noticed that everyone who has said something similar has gotten their review scratched off.

My experience with this upgrade was as good as it gets. Neat and clean and complete in about three hours. All of this was done at no charge using the accumulated points on my account. Slomins also gave me a central station monitored fire and smoke detector at no extra charge.

We had the old Honeywell before but Slomins is very good in comparison. We got Slomins due to its reputation and my acupuncturist and my massage therapist said that the company was good. They also knew Billie Jean who's part of their women's Wednesday business group and who's worked with different companies, and Slomins is one that she recommended. Installation was very easy. Everything went very smoothly surprisingly. Everybody was absolutely knowledgeable and I was overwhelmed because there was so much information to take in but the workers couldn't have been any nicer. With the Slomins system, we feel a lot safer in our own home. We highly recommend Slomins. It's a new system for us but we're very impressed so far. It's a very pleasant experience.

My old oil company wouldn't give me a good oil price for a fixed rate so, I shopped on and I spoke to my neighbor who's very happy with Slomin's. I got both their oil and the alarm system. I feel confident because they're a big company. I've had to call them once and they advised me on what to do and no problems there. I heard about Slomin's through a referral. We customized our package and it's the first alarm system that I put in myself and have I've been using it for a couple of months now. The whole experience with the company, as well as the sales rep, was great. They worked with me on everything that I needed, including the service and installation, and went above and beyond to make everything look nice and to make me happy. The system is very simple to use and has made my life very easy as I turn the alarm on and off through my cellphone. I was very satisfied with the experience.

The salesman was real easy to talk to and the tech that installed the security system was a very well trained professional. The installation was very nicely done. With the system installed, I now sleep better at night. Also, the oil that I get from Slomins is of much better quality and my burner runs much better so I don’t have to service it as often. Overall I’m very satisfied. Sometimes, the camera doesn’t work the way it’s supposed to and I have to reset it at the modem. But I don’t know if that’s Slomins' glitch or the modem box’s glitch.

For years I thought my home was secure. When I traveled overseas I had eliminated long distance and was not protected because their alarm company was in the mid west. After days of calling no one could or would explain I was not monitored. I found out why. Terminated the service and they continued to Bill me and send menacing letters. They went sneaky and got a judgement against me and got over $800 off me for services not rendered claiming I violated the contract and terminated it early charging additional fees.
The state attorney general needs to take a look at crooked, sneaky corporations perpetrating a fraud and acting so noble deceiving people. I don't know how many times I tried to get Slomins to do the right thing. They did not want to lose a dime and cheated. I am here to tell people the Slomins shield only protects Slomin. I was told I couldn't recover the money even if I was not aware of the judgement. So much for justice.

The Slomins sales guys came as promised and kept their appointment. They immediately gave us a quote and everything was done according to the quote. They were very courteous and efficient. Their installation team was excellent. They had to go through a conversion to convert my existing system to work with their monitoring system and they knew what they were doing and were very clean, efficient and courteous. They paid attention to detail. It's just been two weeks and I don’t have any problems with their service so far. I had an excellent experience with them. They completed everything as promised. I used ADT before and I was having some issues. The techs came in to change stuff and they did not make things function so I got rid of it.I have Slomins oil and they came by one night and said they would take over. I was hesitant but it worked out great. Between the two companies, Slomins is the hands-down much better experience with them. There was one hiccup in the installation of the device but when I called, they were able to fix it right away. Then the team called me because there was an issue with the permit for the police department. I had an expired permit and they put the new permit through the system but the police department got it late. I called Slomins back and we rectified the situation very quickly. I feel a lot safer and secure having the alarm system in the house.

I had an overly friendly saleswoman, Marion, who sold me this $5k system, as a first time homeowner. It was installed by a brand new technician who had never worked on a real home before and was not accompanied by a senior technician. The technician took 12 hours to install and then it failed the test. From that point on, it never worked. Customer service sent multiple technicians who simply couldn't get it to work properly. I escalated to supervisors who sent senior technicians and nobody could get it to work.
I invested a lot of money and feel cheated with a failed, expensive system that was supposed to protect my home. I feel compelled to speak my mind, while this was several years ago, I can't help looking at the equipment every day and think about the lost money on equipment and service fees that was wasted. I welcome Slomins to speak with me to find a way to remunerate this unfortunate circumstance for me, as a highly dissatisfied customer.

I have 3 new cameras installed and to date I have yet to have all 3 cameras working on a daily basis! This install has been a nightmare and I regret getting these cameras. I have had to call Customer Service on numerous occasions and on 1/4/2017 the notes were placed in my account that they called me back which is a lie! I have no message on my cell or home phone, however the cameras did magically start to work towards that evening. This is by far the worse experience and I will be calling again to find out about a de-activation!

Have been a loyal customer for 7 years and asked to have my system upgraded so I could do remote arm and disarm and have a keypad added in the master bedroom. When Tech starts to do install I find out that it is the same system just adding additional keypad and radio module, not what I thought I was getting to extend service 36 months... Whatever. Will deal with it for the next year or so.
That night keypad and radio goes into reprogram mode 2 times in middle of night and again the next several days. Now it also shows an E03 code that will stay in trouble for several days and just reset itself along with the keypad. I have had a Tech out here 4 different times now to "FIX" this and it is still not fixed... The Tech today just gave me the runaround and said nothing is wrong with the system. I have taken off work a total of 5 days now to wait for them to fix the issue with no resolution still. When you call Customer Service you just get the runaround! I would not recommend Slomins at this point which is a sham because we never had an issue with them prior to Dec 15th.

Liked my salesperson... He made the process smooth and easy. Explained everything thoroughly. My installation tech was great as well. Very friendly and knowledgeable. He came on time, knew what he was doing, and worked diligently to install my system and install it correctly! The only negative is the company never call to confirm my appointment so I had to rush home because the tech was waiting for me to arrive. He was on time though! Slomins though should offer more incentives to NEW customers though.

Slomins offered cameras at the time of sale, which is what I wanted. They did not tell me until installation that the cameras only worked 30 feet, later they offered to install the kind of cameras I needed for over 2000 dollars. I took the cameras that worked for 30 feet and had another company install the kind I needed when I first called Slomins. Slomins staff did try to work with me and all the installers, salesmen and customer service people are very nice and hard working. The policies of the company should be rethought, though.

While the installer was great, hard working and professional, I am concerned. I feel I was given an installation date before Christmas only after I complained, even though I only said yes to the whole package because I needed outside cameras. Even though I called to confirm and I was told he was on his way, I got an expected call to say there was a problem with his truck. I said I needed someone before Christmas and it seemed they finally sent someone but never had it scheduled. It was too dark for installing outside cameras.
Bottom line, when I came home from Christmas neighbors told by the police to stay away from my property were parked right outside my door. They walked their dog near my new fence all weekend and an old rusty sewer cap was left on my lawn right where they parked. I specifically said I needed cameras for the perimeter of my property (about an acre). When I made the arrangement for the second installation of cameras I was told cameras don't record motion far enough for what I want. That is not what I was told when I bought the package, and it also depends on where the cameras were placed, 3 or 4 very good cameras well placed would do the job.
I only wanted and desperately needed cameras for outside and now I have to wait until Jan 5 to find out if they will a) send enough and b) be quality cameras that actually record when motion is detected. Funny my neighbors in question bought their own camera that takes pictures of me right outside my door, not their own property, but Slomins' security has never heard of such cameras? They need to do research and buy 4 by Jan 5 or they will be in court for coercing me into a 5 year contract for a service that is not what I asked for. Again, the installer and salesmen were great, but I am suspicious already, and I have neighbors told by the police to stay away filming me and walking and vandalizing all over my property.

I called in mid Dec to schedule installation on 12/23. The rep asked me if I wanted 9am to 1pm or 1pm to 5pm and I picked the early time slot. On that day, I took half a day off from work to get the installation done but no one showed up before 1. I called in Slomins around 12:30 and the rep said the technician should come to my home next then I waited. At 2:30, I called again and the rep told me the guy was at lunch. I received a text at 2:50pm saying technician was en route to my home so I waited again. At 4pm, I called again and the rep told me the same BS AGAIN! The technician ended up coming at 4:15pm and I had to miss a whole day of work!!
What got me so upset and pissed off was the 3 reps I spoke to, they tried to sound pleasant but they were all very unprofessional. One rep even said I didn't confirm the 9-1pm time slot when I knew I did. It seems like Slomins does not value my time and the reps are very disrespectful. I actually referred 3 of my friends to join Slomins recently and I will definitely tell them my story and tell them to join other security company instead. Terrible and irresponsible!

My mom has been with Slomin's for well over 7 years. Last year she had called them because she was having troubles with her keypad, she was told that she was able to get a "free upgrade" for her equipment. She was not made aware of the "obligations" that were involved with that "free upgrade" that locked her into a 5 year contract! Her house was currently on the market to be sold, which my mom made aware to the installer, yet she was still tricked into those "obligations". She called to cancel her service on December 9, 2016 because he house was sold and settlement was made on December 16, 2016.
She received a letter dated December 13, 2016 saying that she owes $783.84! Your company is a joke and completely horrible for taking advantage of a woman that clearly has her house on the market to lock her into a 5 year contract! I am going to leave reviews everywhere possible warning people of the lack of information that your company does to consumers to lock them into a contract.

Our alarm went off when my in laws were house sitting. The company called and code word was given. They even helped my mother in law reset the alarm. They then still sent police which in our county is a $100 fine for false alarm. Have called customer service 3 times and have not received call back. Called again tonight to try to rectify and was very rudely spoken to by "Doug". They are calling my mother in law a liar. Unknowingly as others have stated they locked us into a 5 year contract (didn't realize until we tried to cancel). I do not recommend, stay away from Slomins!!!

And he did not know his job or how to speak to a customer... I called back later in the day and spoke to a young lady named Allison who not only solved the problem over the phone but was very pleasant to talk to. And then she called me back today to follow up. She should be commended for doing a great job in customer service.

Had Slomins alarm system since 1999 with no problems. House was recently broken in and alarm was activated. Local sheriff deputies came and the 2 intruders told deputies that they owned the house so, would you believe without asking for proof the deputies left and intruders ransacked my home? Slomins monitoring did no follow up and refuses to give me any details of alarm activity, actually told me I must subpoena any information I require which has made my life very difficult. Useless system in real life so have cancelled and installed a new system with cameras.

Our service technician was terrific. Ours was a big job, recently had all of our windows and doors replaced and he had to replace all of the sensors plus install two smoke detectors. He worked constantly the entire time, was here for at least eight hours. I was so impressed I called into the office so that his supervisors would know just how great and thorough he was!

My experience with the alarm system itself was great. We have had for 2 1/2 yrs now. My issues start with trying to cancel my services. I called to cancel and was told that there was a cancellation fee cause I was locked into a 5 yr contract. I questioned the 5 yr contract and was told that is the standard contract when they provide you with an alarm system. This was not a Slomin installed system. It was an ADT system, Slomin simply replaced the ADT keypad out with a Slomin keypad. That was it. No other equipment was used or installed, it was system take over from previous company with compatible equipment.
So now I am in a standstill while Slomin attempts to get the archived paperwork that shows they gave me a complete installment for a 5 yr contract. Either way this feels like it will be a process as the customer rep was insisting to me that the keypad "contains the computer and alarm system parts that make it a completely new installed system by Slomin."

We recently got construction done on our home and needed our alarm reinstalled. Not only did the company refuse to install our old system but asked us to pay $700 for new equipment and reinstallation since our contract wasn't expired yet. When asked if it would have made a difference if we told them about it before the construction I was told no we would still have to pay for it. Meanwhile new customers and renewing customers get free installation. When I asked if I was getting any other options the reply was no. Way to treat existing customers Slomins!

The installer of my home security system did not leave us a Slomins Shield sign for our property. I called the Slomins office the same day of my installation and was told that the installer may not have had one on his truck. I was told that one would be sent to me right away. It has been over 2 weeks and I still have not received the sign.

I'm very disappointed with the whole experience. First of all, after making an appointment online, no one had contacted me, to tell me that we are confirmed. Only a day before my appointment I received a confirmation email from the sales person. Then on the day of the appointment a received a phone call from the salesperson, stating that he will be about 2 hrs late. It was ok with me since it was a Saturday and I was not working. The salesperson scheduled security system installation and told me that someone will come on a Wednesday between 9-1 pm.
I had cleared my schedule and was patiently waiting until 11 am, when I called the Slomins. At that time I was told that I was a second stop and the technician should be there shortly. However no one had showed up at 1:30. I had to go to work and had my wife to return home, hoping that someone will show up. I spoke to my wife at 3 pm and she told me that there was no technician at the house. When I called the company I was told that this things happen, and they will let me know when tech will be on his way. This is so inconsiderate of my schedule.
Then I called the company again willing to speak to a supervise, after being at work and holding for 10 minutes I hung up. After being played all day, I finally called cancelled my order. I don't want to be with a company who does care about the clients, from the very beginning there were issues. I'm very disappointed that there are companies that run business like this.

I recently had my total alarm system replaced. The guy was good and very professional however, now my alarm beeps and can go off every time I open my interior bedroom door. I'm scared to set the alarm at night now because if someone gets up to go to the bathroom it will go off. Can you please have someone put it back the way it was. I have been loyal to Slomins for well over 10 years.

Install was 10/17. I would give the installer a 10 on a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the highest but as of 11/4, I still do not have the outdoor sign although I called twice. I don't know why it isn't given the day of the installation. The sign is immediate notice of an alarm system on premises and a big part of the protection.

This is the worst system of all the alarms had with Slomins. The sound is not as loud as prior systems. There are way too many steps to activate the alarm, perhaps this may be a programming issue. Because the sound is extremely low if triggered, safety feels jeopardized. Not happy at all with new wireless system.

Absolutely resolved by a gentleman who called from Slomins. Some adjustment to my bill, and that will cover my aggravation finding a site to dispose of material that cannot go into the regular garbage, and that should have been removed by the installing technician.

First had sales fellow in to go over upgrade to system that was last updated in perhaps 2007. That went fine. Set up contract (5 yr) in return for "free upgrade" that was to include a new master box in basement + 2 upstairs control panels. Technician came on time. He said he was there to change a battery out. Period. He said this is what was on his work order on his tablet. I said, "no there is a bigger change out due" (as above). He said no. I said, "call whomever you need to to get this clarified." That took a bit. I had to go outside (he was parked in our garage) to push the conversation he was having, which still seemed to be stuck on changing out the battery. At that point I had already shown him the papers I signed for the 5 year contract and more extensive change out. We were at a standstill until I made it clear that if they (meaning Slomins) could not get their act together, I would be fine with going with another vendor, effective now.
The phone conversation continued. In the end, what I had agreed to was done. Slomins: this was far too much aggravation all due to internal communication issues on your business/technician side of things. I should not have had to push and make my alternative options so vigorously clear. Second problem: the technician put the old electronics into my outdoor garbage. Electronics, motherboards, lithium batteries (even if depleted) cannot go into regular landfill. He did not ask me about disposal. He did not offer to take them for proper disposal. This is not socially or environmentally responsible. These things must be properly disposed of. Slomins: you need to get this end of things improved. Why 3 stars: the system was upgraded. Maybe it should be two for the electronics disposal issue and my need to be aggressive, but in the end, the system was upgraded.

The installation went fine with no problems. However we do have an issue with the bill we received regarding permit fees. Although it states in the agreement that permit fees TBD, we feel that the customers should be told what the fees are so they are aware they will be an additional bill. The agreement was given to us by the sales rep, and we could not read it at that time because it was on an tablet and was unreadable. We did read it later (and we always read agreements before signing them) and did not even notice the line permit fees TBD because there was no dollar amount listed. We feel you need to be more upfront with the additional fees charged. It is not fair to the customer to be asked to pay extra when it is not clear in the agreement.

The rep was patient and informative without overselling. He tried to give me the best deal he could. The installation was superb. They were patient and made sure the job was done right even to point of changing panel cause not enough zones. They were ready to answer all my questions make recommendations but did it the way I wanted it done and made sure I was satisfied. I was impressed. It was late so I didn't get the chance to review all the features because they had to go. So a little rushed in the end. Hard for me to call customer service in day due to schedule, always better to be clear before they leave. So no great closure. Otherwise quite pleased.

While I had a great sales experience, the install didn't quite match the sell. For example, I asked that the ADT equipment be removed as was described in the sell; it was not removed. I had to leave before the install was installed, and asked that detailed instructions be left. I found the instructions lacking, as they don't cover how to activate the app on my phone. When activating the phone app, I was asked for an account number, which was never given to me, and doesn't seem to be available in emails from Slomin's. Long story short, the equipment is here, but has not yet been activated.

The consultant that came to my house, Nick **, almost cost the company my services. He lied to my face several times. First telling me I could pick the time I wanted for my install so I wouldn't have to take off work. Then I told him I wanted wireless so I don't need my landline & wanted to operate my system from my phone. That was never placed on the order. It was basically a "sign here & you'll have the existing coverage now plus access from your phone". Luckily your installer made up for Nick's rudeness & lies.

I have Slomins since June. The salesman was great but the installers were a bear to get to come. And then when they came, they had the wrong instructions because the salesman didn’t actually put them on at the right time. And they came at a point where they had to call the headquarters and they couldn’t do the additional stuff they were supposed to do. We had to call again for the fourth time and I had the real estate agent wait all day for them and they didn’t show up. The installation was a big pain and I wasn't satisfied with it. I hope they have their sales and installation team be a little more painless. Otherwise, they’ll lose customers. Nonetheless, the device is working fine and I don’t know yet if it would respond well to any emergencies.

My installer, Marco, was very knowledgeable and patient installing our system & explaining how to use it. My house is fully protected. We are very happy with the system. What I am not happy about is the fact that I gave 3 mos. in advance & went on auto pay. You took a double charge out & have left me with overdraft charges. I called Monday about this. This is Thursday & I'm still waiting for my credit.

I've used Slomin's for about a month and a half now and I got to know about them through a coworker. I never had an alarm system before so going through the consultation with the guy who came out, I was very comfortable and confident that using Slomin's alarm service is a good choice. He explained and walked us through all the different options we had and advised what will be the best for us. It was a satisfying experience. Both he and the gentleman who did the installation were knowledgeable and able to answer all my questions. I have the alarm system, a camera system, and the fire alarm. I have to check the alarm every night now. When I'm away and the kids are home or whatever the case is, I'm able to access the security camera from my mobile device. I'll definitely recommend them.

I feel very safe having Slomins and so does my cousin and her husband. The people who came and put the stuff in at their house were very pleasant. The only thing she's aggravated about was they gave her a free camera and it never worked for her because it was an indoor one. They put in on her windowsill and when she wanted to look, it was too dark outside for her to see anybody even with the porch light on. So she put it away some place and she can't find it.

I was hoping that I was qualified for Slomins, so I then called them, and someone came out. Steve and all of their technicians have been awesome people. They installed the system which has a four-digit code word and a password, which they ask for when they call. When I wanted them to check my system, in every part, they acted on it. If I had any questions, there's a number I called and they have recorded them. The system is a great asset and it's very flexible to use. Everyone should have it for protection since there's gonna be strange people nowadays. It also helps since I have a health issue.
Slomins is an outstanding company and they are very patient and diligent to customers. I have been on and off with them for a number of years because of my living status and I don't know where I'm going to live at next, but I currently have a two to three-year contract with them and I don't wanna breach that. I'm still gonna do what I can to keep that up because I want to use them at my next home. I'm fully satisfied and I'm not leaving them. If it will cost me, I will pay that much. I feel blessed to be a part of their family and would recommend them to anyone. In fact, I call them twice a year to thank them and make them feel good. I also tell them on to other people who also have Slomins and they call me back and tell me that Slomins was really great.

Slomin's Alarm Systems was referred by a friend of mine. I got them last month and it's my first alarm system. There was the good service that I got from the installation to everything else. It was a quick and easy installation. Their guys were in and out in less than an hour. They were really knowledgeable in what they did and explained everything to me. The system's easy to work that a kid could do it.
My wife, grandchildren and I are making it a habit of turning the system on and off. When we leave, we remember to turn it on and when we're at home, we make sure nobody goes out when the stay alarm is on. We're getting used to something we never had before. Other than that, it's awesome. There have been a lot of home invasions in broad daylight in the area we live in so this system was something we've been meaning to have for a long time.

During installation drill broke and wooden wall panel got damaged. Contacted customer service same day but it's been 2 weeks. No one even contacted. I followed up 2-3 times. It's frustrating when your home get damaged and damage claim department don't respond to your emails and calls - so inefficient and uncourteous.

When we bought the house, the owner was using Slomin's so we stayed with them. Once we started with them, we were happy with the service so we kept it. We've been using them for almost 25 years. A Slomins saleswoman paid me and my family a visit to discuss home heating and then alarm system. What she failed to tell me is that a security deposit MAY be required and I made it VERY AWARE that I was concerned about my credit. I also asked about the inquiry on my credit whether it was hard or soft. She lied and said it was "soft". Well guess what? It's a hard inquiry and my credit that I am working so hard to improve dropped many points! When their customer service department called me this morning they made it out to be like it was MY FAULT and were very rude. I also paid for the first 3 months of service for the alarm system... $120! I want my money back, FYI! The people in the community will know about the experience I have had.

When I first called Slomins, I got a young kid who told me I would hear from somebody within 24 hours and never heard from anybody. When I called back, they told me that there was no information in the system. Nothing had happened and they didn't even know I was waiting for a call, so there was some communication challenge there. They had to install a new system, and were about four hours late for the installation, but once they were here, installation went pretty well. I've been using them for over a month and so far it's good.

The technician came to install 2 cameras. He cracked my shingle and didn't even say anything. I noticed it when I came home from work, as my mother was here to let him in for the install. It's right in the front of the house. Nothing I can do about it. When I met with the guy about the upgrade I explained that I was having issues with my connection for the air conditioner as well as the remote to turn off the alarm from outside before entry. He said to call-in the issue prior to the install and it would be taken care of and that he would have a new remote for me for the install. The tech tied a knot in the connector to make it shorter - I could have done that. I asked if he was told about it and he said he was. It was like he couldn't be bothered. As for the remote, he left without giving it to me.
The cameras are fine, even though they don't quite meet my expectations. I have repeatedly asked for wires and batteries and never received them unless I schedule a service call (the bills always arrive promptly in the mail) and I shouldn't have to beg for a remote replacement. Not my best experience as a 12 year customer.

Our installer was amazing. The best. He made every challenge doable. However our sales person made the process hard - rescheduled a couple of times for his convenience, didn't put the work order in quickly enough so our appointment was rescheduled and he wrote up the wrong work order so the installer did not have what he needed. Give the installer a raise. The sales person needs to have his performance evaluated by a supervisor. He almost lost the sale due to his lack of professionalism. We looked into changing alarm systems.

First of all, Slomins does not always disclose verbally that you are signing a 5-year contract when you inquire and enter into a service agreement with them. You need to be aware that if you sign a contract with them, you may be locking yourself into 5 years of service, and will have to pay exorbitantly high fees to be released from the contract. This to me is absolutely absurd, as so much can change in a 5-year period.
I have no doubt that Slomins is taking advantage of its customers in this manner, and making large sums of money on fees to break contracts. Not to mention, Slomins has service that is limited when compared to its competitors, like ADT. I will be working to get out of my contract with Slomins and at this point, I certainly do not see myself continuing to use their service or recommending their services to anyone else. I will continue to leave these types or reviews on other review boards, as Slomins customer service department has been less than helpful.

An older version of Slomins had been there before I moved in and I decided to get it after I got broke into and lost over $10,000 worth of equipment. The installation was very easy. The salesman came out as it was being installed and wanted to check up on things and see how things were going. He was very courteous. The installer was also very knowledgeable and he has been doing it for 27 years. One time I forgot to set it and I set it from my phone, which is great. I feel safer with the system in place.

Customer service called me to inform me of a back door alarm at my residence. I missed the call and called then right back immediately, I asked them to disarm the system because I have pets in the home and the alarm is very loud. The customer service agent was very rude and would not disarm the system and dispatched local PD anyway. When I got home, I found that the alarm sensor on the back door fell off because it was installed with cheap double-sided tape.
A few weeks later I received a $150 dollar bill from the local PD for a false alarm fee. I called Slomin's again and spoke with a supervisor named Patty who again was unpleasant to deal with and didn't have a care in the world whether or not I remained a customer with them. I figured they would take care of the fine since it was their fault PD was dispatched, not mine. She informed me it will be $1200 dollars to cancel my contact, it's almost worth it to me to pay it and be done with dealing with them. I'm glad I didn't do an oil contract with them because I was seriously considering it. I will never do business with them again and I recommend others to use a more reputable company that actually cares about their customers and pets.

The installer came in, did what he had to do, cleaned up his mess and away he went. He was perfect and since the installation, we definitely felt safer. I feel better knowing my home is more secure when I'm away and Slomin's helps to provide that. It has been two weeks since I have them as my home security service provider. Installing it was very easy. I had some problems but they were fixed immediately. Everyone I dealt with was professional, it was great. I’ve been with Slomin's for a long time. I’ve seen the ads, heard them on the radio, seen the shield off of various people’s lawns and their material was already installed in my house when I bought it, so I reactivated it. The technician came over and installed the security device all in one day. It's good to have Slomin's Alarm Systems and we're pleased with it.

Never received order number. Camera doesn't work right. Bought a 100$ wifi extender and still is not right. Suppose to install radio transmitter but never did. Was told I should have told the installer what needed to be done. It was on the work-order. Not happy at all with Slomins.

Slomin's advised us that the service people would be at the new house on the 1st stop of the day, properly around 9am. We waited and waited and finally called a 2nd time to find out that he would not be there until after 1:00. He called to tell us he was on the way and be there in an hour, but it 1 1/2 hours later. He was fast and did a good job on the installation. However, we did not get any decals or signs for the yard. Our present house has had a Slomin's system for 30 years and that was the reason we came back...

I’m very pleased with Slomins' professional service, reasonable rate, and knowledgeable technician. I already have the security device before, I just got an additional camera to help me monitor the kids when they play in the backyard. The camera makes life easier. The installation was fairly simple. They set up an appointment and the technician came on time. Within an hour, he was able to install everything and had it working fine. The only thing is when I tried to log into their website to check the camera feed, I wasn’t able to log in, so I called their customer service and they said there was an issue with the phone number. The customer service people were very friendly and helpful.

Slomin's was introduced to me by Darren, another Slomin's customer. The installation process was pretty easy and he worked quick because I was dealing with a short period of time and he got here a little late because he was working with another customer. But he was able to get it done in a timely fashion so I appreciate that. They've been really great with calling and making sure we don't need the police to come out because the other day when I tapped the window with my phone and I must have turned it back on somehow and accidentally set the alarm off. By the time I opened up the back door, I don't have enough time to run upstairs where the pad is. Having a Slomin's security device is excellent because I have a house full of women, and it makes me feel comfortable and very secure.

The mech was two hours late. I thought he was to arrive between 10 am and noon - he arrived around 1 pm. He did all of the work very fast and was very neat. My trouble is the very long wait time it takes for someone to pick up the phone. Once the first machine answers the call you are instructed to push a number to speak to a live person. That time is way too long before I get to talk.

The installation went well. The gentleman was efficient and helpful, friendly. He taught us how to use the new system, explained some details, showed us how to reference the manual. My biggest thought is that the system is still about the same as the older one - where I need to put in a code to activate and deactivate. I was hoping for more of an easier way to arm/disarm without the phone app, i.e. a key fob or something.
I do like the different sounds that each door produces (very helpful!), and I appreciate the fact that it was a relatively easy process to move from wired to wireless. We are pleased with the new system and glad that we had a technician out that reviewed all our connections and tested it for accuracy. We are also pleased that we now have the smoke detector connection which makes us feel more secure. Overall, I would recommend Slomins, as we have been a customer now for 18 years in different houses.

We've had Slomins for over 15 years now, and we inquired about an upgrade recently. They came out and did it. Though I wasn’t too thrilled now that I have to pay a couple more dollars every three months because I have the satellite radio. So if they cut the cord on the phone thing, I’d still have a signal picked up by this radio that they installed. I was hoping it would be the same fee, but that went up $7. They also said that I had to pay $96 because Hamilton Township had some fee, which I don’t understand because I’ve had the alarm from a long time ago. But I paid it.
I heard that somebody had been broken into and they had security inside their house. So I got paranoid and I've been calling Slomins. That’s when I found out that because I had been with them for so long that we were allowed to have certain amount of windows wired for free. Because other than that, they were charging $99 a window. So we ended up having a lot of the windows done and that way we wanna put the exterior on when we go to bed. I feel a little bit better now, but I don't think there was an immediate threat. We're pretty much locked up and use what we have. It went smoothly and I had no problems.

Salesman boldly lied and misrepresented the installation and security system's features, capability and performance. Beware of package they sell. Their system is far behind industry standards which is why they keep it a secret. You pay for cameras that cannot see anything after dark, just black screen. They will not let me upgrade to better ones, even if I buy my own (too much data). You cannot automate any appliance or z-wave device despite claims of home automation. You have to open the app and manually turn lights on and off each time. They have you stuck on a 5 year contract and cannot cancel or downgrade to basic monitoring. Useless customer service and support. Stay away.

My niece referred us to Slomin's Alarms and when they came out, we told them what we wanted and they gave us a price on it. I'm a little disappointed because it doesn't do exactly what I want it to do so we haven't turned it on. We have dogs that go in and out at night so we can't set the alarm at night. Now I'm kind of stuck in a five-year contract. I realize that we armed the areas of the house that we felt were most vulnerable to a break-in. But at the same time, I can’t open a window or open the door at night without coming out here and turning the whole system off and that doesn’t mark really good. Nonetheless, I would definitely recommend them.

I have had Slomins for many years. The service that I have received has always been good. This time I was going to have my system upgraded, which the salesman said would take hours. He told me that they would have someone come to my house between 8 and 10. When no one was at my house by ten I called and was told that someone was finishing up in Wantagh. Later I called again and was told that someone was finishing up in East Meadow and would come when he finished. When he did arrive he told me that he might not be able to finish the job that day. This was poor scheduling by your dispatchers reflects poorly on your company.

With only about 7 months left on my 5-year contract with Slomins, I am finally going to escape from this useless and clueless supplier of poor security services. Wish we had never dealt with this useless vendor. Shortly after having signed with Slomins for security services, the problems began. First the shoddy sensors they install for windows begin failing. Each service visit incurs additional charges of at least $100 when they could easily mail the sensors for pennies and we could install them ourselves. In this way, they lock in their abusive service visit fees. Then their cheap remote control fobs die, for which they want to charge a $100 plus each.
Then their main control panel seems to fail as well. Guess that would cost at least $500 or more to replace. Now at the end of their worthless service contract, they want to charge for servicing their equipment again. Guess it's more logical to just select their replacement and be ready to replace them as soon as their contract ends. Never again will we deal with this useless vendor. Good riddance!

My neighborhood was canvassed by Slomins, and I am looking for a security system. I signed up and paid. Two weeks later and one day off of work, the system was installed. Nothing as I was promised. I was to have a tablet to control the system and a truly wireless camera. These were question I asked. The system has a control pad that is to be mounted to a wall and the camera has a power cord. One hour after the person left the door sensor did not work. The installer also came at an unscheduled time. I only left with a paper manual for the control pad, no numbers - nothing. Finally after going online, I was able to email someone. I want out of this contract, but they refuse to let me out. I have to Attorney General to file a complaint. I would not recommend this company. The only time they can come out to fix any issue is doing the day meaning more time off of work. Do not use this company!

I've been a Slomins customer forever. Everybody there's always friendly and great when I call to find out about my bill, if the system was freaking out and beeping, or when I have to tell them that I am going away so they can put the vacation alert on. I had torn the house down and rebuilt and they came out prior to reinstalling the system and checked out where it should be wired in the walls and worked with the contractor. The sales guys that came out and checked and the installers are fabulous. Also, every five years I can re-up and I usually get something free. Wonderful service and cost and outstanding experience.

I was told the installer would arrive in the morning after 9 and it would take 3 hours to install. He arrived at 9:10 and was out of my house by 10-10:30. The only thing that held him up was my computer kept freezing and would not let me finish setting up my account. He explained everything to me and would not leave until I understood everything. It is so much easier to use than my mom's system. I love it.

One of our friends who has Slomin's alarm system referred us to Slomin's. We got the system and installing it was very easy and everything was very simple. The representatives were informative and the person that installed the system was great. Overall, the system is easy to access and manage. The monthly payments are very affordable as well.

I was very happy till this morning when my alarm system started to tell me that I had low battery. Meanwhile I just had them replaced. The rep told me he call me back and never did so after calling back and told them I want to cancel my service they are now trying to come back today to correct the problem and as of 2 o'clock not a call for a follow up.

Our smoke alarm went off while our son was home alone. Even though he knew the code, there was no intuitive way to enter it on the keypad. Even worse - Slomins apparently did not receive a signal and did not call our house to check, whether to summon the Fire Department. When I called to complain, I was on the wait-loop for over five minutes. When we had ADT, we never had to wait for more than 30 seconds. The system does not differentiate between emergency calls or calls about technical assistance or billing questions.
The customer service guy I finally talked to was polite and professional. He made me run through a bunch of tests and determined that we need technical service. The next available appointment is in two days, which is good, but he was not able to tell me a time frame for the visit - expecting me to put my work life on hold for an entire day - all because of a faulty installation. Then he said, we would not be charged for the visit as a courtesy. That's unbelievable. They should have had the courtesy to install the system properly to begin with and to give a window of a few hours for their visit. When the alarm is going off, there should be a number, which is answered within a few seconds. My wife is super mad. She wants to go back to ADT.

I’ve been with Slomin's for eight years. The only thing I’m disappointed with in the business aspect of it is that they are not updated on technology. I have to switch my business account to ADT now because Slomin's system for business is still old-school. I wanna be able to do it through the phone with the app, to be able to see who will use which code to get in. With ADT I get an alarm where when somebody opens up the store and gets in, it’ll send me an alert saying, “John just went in at this time,” and stuff like that. For some reason with Slomin's, for the house they do stuff like that but not for business.

I had Slomin's years ago, so I'm a repeat customer of the company. We recently had their sales rep come out to my house. He was very knowledgeable, answered all of my questions and scheduled my installation for a specific date. Then Slomin's contacted me and told me they weren't sure if they could do it then and in between the hours that they had told me originally, I called my salesman back and he got it all worked out. Slomin’s came out when they were supposed to and installed the alarm. The installation guy was very knowledgeable and wonderful.

I had called Slomins numerous times (Dec. 2015) over 6 months ago concerning my alarm system which was not, has not and still is NOT working. I was kept on the phone each time for at least 30 minutes and in each call the customer service was unable to remedy the situation and told me that I will get a callback. I never received a callback from Slomins and I refuse to waste any more time trying to contact them. Slomins had just sent me a bill for the last 6 months ($151.98) of NONSERVICE threatening me for payment for service I DID NOT RECEIVE. I called Slomins concerning the bill and repairing my broken system. The customer service advisor confirmed and acknowledge past concerns and the calls I made (6 months ago) BUT he was still extremely rude and demanded payment before any discussion of repair would take place. This is not the way you do business especially since I'm an 8-year customer that has always been in good standing.

Called them out. Salesman sold me 2 cameras. I wasn't satisfied with the cameras from day 1. Called them out 3 times then as I told them to take them back they said I had to keep them 500$. The salesman just wanted a sale and that was it. Also getting my windows replaced in my home a total of 14 Windows and 2 sliding doors and they want to charge me 1200 to go wireless. This company is a ripoff. I want out of this contract.

The installation of our Slomins security device was straightforward. We had two errors within the first week, and I’m not sure what’s going on there. One error said "cell phone communication failure." It came in 20 seconds a couple of days ago. Also, we have an issue with one of the sensors that they installed. The battery was bad, so I got another battery.

On Tue. 5/17/16 I had a system upgrade, installed 2 cameras outside my house 1 in back 1 in front. Back camera great, Front camera no good. 2 service calls later, still no good. Customer service reps still trying to rectify. FRONT CAMERA NO GOOD. Tech on Friday VERY rude and did absolutely Nothing and told me "What do you want me to do I have no idea" and drove away. I am extremely disappointed with Slomins and recent service.

Your installer didn't know what he was doing. Never gave me Slomin's Shield for outside of my home. The monitor upstairs went to the wrong height. Just terrible. And the alarm for my key chain never gave me.

So I am a new home owner & a new father. Trying to figure a way to protect my family from the cold winters here in NJ & do it in the most cost effective manner. I called Slomin's. My first order of business was to get an alarm system for my home. I then realized that Slomin's also provide oil to heat homes. I figured it would be a good idea to bundle the services together, more convenient & more savings. I signed a yearlong contract for my oil service at what I thought was a good deal. As the year went on, oil prices fell, which really stinks because I was locked in but "oh well" I thought, I knew it was a possibility. As the year went on oil prices continued to fall, so I called Slomin's 2-3 weeks before my contract was set to expire. I explained that I wanted a new quote as my contract was expiring. They quoted me $1.83/gallon. This time I was smarter and I called a local company. They quoted me $1.50/gallon.
I called Slomin's and advised them I would like to cancel & I did not want any more oil from them, no deliveries! They advised me ok but suggested that I wait to cancel so that I wouldn't be hit with any charges. I think we all know where this is going. They delivered oil to my house on the day my contract expired and filled it to the tippy top. I called to complain. The only thing I got from their "customer service" dept was that they were within their contract rights. Slomin's = Scam. Do not use this company!!!
