We had a house fire 17 months ago, we lost our house down to the studs. ServPro came to "clean" out our belongings. They painted a beautiful picture, however day one 6 people showed up at 6:00am, and no one spoke English. They stepped on and destroyed most things that the firefighters knocked over. The promised to restore the personal belongings to pre-fire state. We had our daughter's PS4 stolen and had to push for them to replace it. We just received 200+ boxes this week, all mislabeled, smelling of fire and mold. Furniture in parts, water-damaged dressers without drawers, filthy to the eye view. When we opened up the boxes things were all mixed up, our son's belongings mixed with our daughter's belongings. Boxes marked "toys" with a moldy zip lock baggie and some small bouncy balls in it. Stuffed animals still visibility soiled smelling like mold.

I washed my daughter's favorite stuffed 3 times now it still smells. We got back boxes marked "food". They boxed up pantry items and stored them for 17 months all expired and the boxed cereal was apparently drenched in water at one time. A nightstand came here that wasn't ours and the top drawer was littered in mold. The man literally handed me that disgusting drawer and I said what is this? He said, "Yes, welcome." I'm beside myself with confusion as to how a company can allow their workers to do this kind of a job.

When we called to complain to the project manager Damien he twisted my husband's words around to his boss and his boss contacted our insurance representative stating we did not want them to rectify the situation that we were going to throw every box away and claim it. That is not what was said, we simply asked them to redo the job the way the promised to do it originally. Our insurance company spent over 80,000 from our personal belongings to pay this company and they did a horrible job. Everything turned out to be a lie, and now we are left to clean up their mess. Along with the cost to remove all the dirty and broken items our children once called their things. We suffered enough and we are just appalled. Shocked with every box we are left to open and "go through".

I'm finding toothbrushes and toothpaste used and dirty. Something needs to be done about this, this company shouldn't be allowed to stick it to people who have just been through a tragic event. The fire was terrifying, but what followed unfolded to be just as bad.

We were flooded in a hurricane so we needed to make sure we got rid of the mold so we called ServPro. We ended up paying $8,000. They pull up in a U-Haul. Then start to tear down the walls but then I was told I had to leave because of this humidifier thing that they never told me about before. I ended having to pay to stay in a hotel for 3 days so that ate up about $700. When we got back they were supposed to leave my garage door opener but when we got home it was smashed in the driveway. And then as we came inside we noticed there there were nails still in the walls all through the house and also I almost forgot to say that the guys were in such a hurry to get out of here because they wanted to go back to their original state that they live in so they were in a very big hurry and rushed through the job. I do not suggest anybody hires this company.

My Condominium association hired ServPro of Largo to assist in getting rid of unwanted items. I planned to get new flooring,a new kitchen, redecorate. ServPro arrived late daily saying it takes one hour to go the 5 miles to my home, gave me massive rapid fire lies, refused me an estimate (cost $7,000), took double the time estimated, worked 10 am to 2 pm with lunch daily, gave me a $5 bill forgery for fun. Workers stole all my diamond and gold, Tiffany, Sterling silver, gemstone, Hawaiian, Yukon, First Nation, art show hand made jewelry.

Workers stole my asthma medication from medicine cabinet. This action is dangerous and illegal without a court order or physician order. Workers took my safe with social security card, checkbooks, credit card, nursing license. Identify theft. Workers left my home filthy. I am single female over 60 and had 11 steroid injections the year before due to physical injuries and needed assistance. It took a long time to get itemized bill. I was refused itemized bill due to "fear of it being scrutinized". I notified corporate with no response.

Water overflowed in our kitchen sink. There was so much water, it went to the downstairs into the basement. After my phone call, they arrived almost instantly with their blowers and dehumidifiers. Two men went different directions and they left the dehumidifiers and blowers in strategic places for two nights, three days. We chose to have their restoration department go to work and make it like it never happened. They ordered the new flooring, sheet rock, paint, and other supplies. My wife and I did not have to do a thing. ServPro was fabulous in making our home back to what it was before the water flooded the kitchen and downstairs. Our home is back to how it was just like it never even happened. Servpro was excellent. They are very professional, cleaned up everywhere, and earned five star rating and then some. Servpro in Oxford are a VERY high recommendation.

Nine months to reconstruct a tiny bathroom and two walls of another room and still not completed properly. Only use this company for mitigation/water removal. I have never seen such incompetence - entire bathroom had to be torn out back to the studs and redone due to sloppy, dangerous work. Walls had to be redone. Tile person did not speak English and so tile work was not done properly. Broken fixtures, paint and debris on everything and never cleaned up despite promises. Another manager had to step in and supervise because the work was done so badly. Our life and house has been upended for almost a year for what should have taken two months tops.

There was a leak in my bathroom which cause the flood problem. This leak was in the wall behind the sink and the toilet. The insurance company sent a plumber to fix the leak, then They sent Servpro to put vents to dry the wall. After that They told me that They need to cut 3 feet from the floor and up. They took and broke the cabinets off the kitchen. Also, they took out the sink. They start cutting the wall that was in front of the original damage. I don’t know why? They should only cut the affected area. However, they found Mold in front of the damage area and told the insurance that that the problem wasn’t cause for the leak. Of course, the leak was in the other side. The insurance company denied my claim because Servpro did a bad diagnostic of the problem.

The next day they came and left my house with holes in the wall. The cabinets broken and without the sink. My house is a mess and They told me that I need to fix it myself even though They destroyed everything. This is not fair. Don’t chose this company to fix anything. They would go to Your house and destroy everything they can just to make more money.

UPDATE: Servpro finally offered me a refund if I would delete my reviews. They then denied me the full refund because my BBB one could not be fully unpublished! They tried to get me to sign a legal contract covering them but basically screwing me and getting me to agree to non truths.... When my attorney recommended a few minor edits and to where I couldn't be sued later for partial BBB info still up due to my complaint they backed out.. Be cautious as this is only paying for refunds to silence those with bad jobs not making right unless any bad job information is removed and only benefiting their reputation!! Bad business!

I paid them 11k to remedy mold in my attic to keep my family safe. They did the job and missed many areas. After I called and said I would take legal action the supervisor rushed out within 2hrs leading me to believe he was going to make right. However, he followed with immediately voiding my warranty instead due to saying there was new growth and wetness and high humidity. So all they did was deceive me to cover their **. I've had 5 other companies out and every one has told me the only mold is what still has their scrub marks visible through it where they missed, that the humidity is some of the lowest of all houses in the valley, and even during rain there is 0 wetness. They also used insulation that is not as thick as it should be. The spots totally missed were in corners I heard them arguing over who had to go into and not wanting to while doing the job.

I feel stressed out for months now trying to get another company to be willing to come in behind their poor job and coming up with the money to redo a job that they failed to so properly. Meanwhile exposing my kids to mold I paid them to remedy. When you call other remediation ask them how many customers they have been having to fix Servpro jobs this month. The number is alarming....

Please beware, especially if your insurance company provides you with the option to select this company for repairs. My husband and I were supposed to have our cabinet under the sink rebuilt as well as floors, base shoe, baseboards and quarter round installed as a result of water damage. This project began in late February/early March and still is not completed nor is it done right. Therefore, we made the executive decision to stop work and doing business with this company.

So let me first start by saying, the general contractor they assigned, was not an effective communicator nor did he properly check behind his guys’ work which after every job was faulty which included gaps in areas of our floor where the LVP floors were cut too short to reach the walls and also, the toe kick that was installed around our cabinet was not installed using the correct size materials and therefore has gaps in which you could literally stick your whole hand inside to get to the subfloors. Not to mention, the guys that were sent to do our floors broke something on our washing machine and never notified us but asked my husband where the nearest hardware store was and went to Ace to get a part to fix it but it still wobbles.

Also, they did not install our toilet correctly as it was crocket and it wobbles because it’s not properly sealed to the floor. The guys who installed the floor played loud music, laughed and joked loudly the whole entire time they were in our home and could be heard upstairs. When they were done, they simply called to me from upstairs and said they were finished. Before I could even make it down to inspect the job, they were walking out of the door. They did not ask me to do a walkthrough or anything. As far as the cabinets go, I continued to call and text Johnny asking for updates and he would always give me the run around about the cabinets saying that he would check and get back to me.

So finally we decided to not have the cabinet job completed because he told us that the guy he had was giving him the runaround and he assigned another guy for the job who would call us and come out and do measurements (which by the way should have been done in the initial estimate that was done in February, 2022) but of course that never got done and we never received a call. Also, the contractor kept saying things that needed to be done in our kitchen weren’t in our estimate from State Farm so they had to add them in however, State Farm was not even the ones who did our estimate, it was Servpro. The guys who he sent to complete our quarter round reeked of alcohol and one was holding himself when he walked into my house asking me to use my bathroom. Also, they did not have the right materials and claim that they did not receive a work order to complete the toe kick.

When I called our contractor, of course he did not answer, but replied through text saying that he contacted his boss and would deliver materials which never happened therefore that is why the baseboards that were used as toe kicks didn’t work. The guys also broke one piece of quarter round in our dining room but instead of using a new piece, they decided to try to glue it together but did so unevenly and it looks very sloppy and not of good quality. Then, the guys left without putting quarter round at our back door and when we called them to notify them, the man wanted a picture which we sent and he then said through text that he did miss that spot but he was already on another job and that if we agreed to let him paint our hallway (which by the way had nothing to do with this job) he would come back and fix that piece.

I was so shocked and appalled that a “professional” would be soliciting us for another service without even properly finishing the job he was being paid for. So I expressed to him that we would not need a paint job now and I told him that the general contractor was coming back on Monday to inspect so he texted me and said he would have it done by then. Of course, he never called and never came back to do the job. The contractor did not come as scheduled Monday because I texted him to ask him about the time of his arrival and he wanted to postpone to the next day.

When he did come the next day, he never actually walked through to inspect his guys’ work. He only looked at the things we pointed out to him, attempted to fix our toilet and stayed at our home for about 10-15 minutes. We paid Servpro over $2,800 in a deposit for a job that was done incorrectly and was delayed with awful communication. I’m still left with a bad taste in my mouth wondering why on earth I had to call these people so many times to beg them to do the work they were getting paid for and not to mention just doing the work RIGHT!

Also, when we ended the job and called the company to complain, they never asked for pictures, nor did they come out to inspect, nor did they have the contractor’s supervisor contact us to discuss the issue; they simply claimed they gave us credits which by the way we haven’t been able to see because I asked for an itemized receipt of the charges which has yet to be sent to me. I just cannot believe my husband and I experienced this nightmare which is still hunting us because they are claiming that we owe them more money.

Do not use this company unless you want to waste your time and hard earned money for very Inexperienced and careless work that could have been done in a day but was stretched out over months. My husband and I still have to pay someone to correct the work they did and it just isn’t fair! We are hoping that this review will be seen and help others from making the same mistake we did and basically being misled, mistreated and robbed! Please, do not use this company nor the contractor mentioned. I wish there was a way I could post photos and screenshots of the communication between us. If I could write about everything we experienced with Servpro, it would take up too much space. Trust me, don’t use them or you will be sorry! Tell your insurance company, “No thanks!”

I had a washer leak in my unit. They took 3 hours to get there. I did the extraction for them. And their water meter was wrong. I went in with my own professional behind them and tested with brand new meters. They lied to my apartments trying to get me in trouble. They also only tested where there were pipes in the ground feeding to my laundry and sink. Bunch of scammers trying to make money on apartments exaggerating stories. It was a washer leak. Not flooding as they described. The project manager was rude enough to say he isn't allowed to tell me what my damage to the apartments were. Already a scam. And then he told my manager I should move so he could have his team do demolition for 45 days. Totally unnecessary, I was the one that fixed all of the problem anyway. Then they still came by and took all the trim off my walls leaving my apartment in worse shape than before as if they have such a huge job to do.

I spent 2 weeks with 13 fans, 2 dehumidifiers and 1 hepa while my daughter consistently got bloody noses while my apartment manager didn't care. She told me to leave them on even if they cause us damage physically. Then when I complained about the physical hazards she messaged that she will cancel my lease in retaliation. I hate the entire situation. And the men that were there were completely rude to us. Showed up 3 times after we asked for a phone call first and told us that management let them in. Two of the three times I was getting dresses. Totally unprofessional.

They wouldn't answer a phone call or ever let me know what was going on, took on more "emergency" jobs on the days they were supposed to be at my house and didn't let me know, told me they'd do a duct cleaning job when they were done with the mold and insulation removal but once they got done with the insulation told me they were too busy and to look somewhere else for the duct cleaning. They had no communication at all with us for any planning, were renting equipment from Menards that had issues, didn't have their own tools to fix the issues they had.

Was told multiple times they would call me back with a plan within the hour and wouldn't hear anything for days, they said they weren't getting my phone calls or voice-mails. ServPro was hired to repair water damage from a leaking roof. They caused more damage than needed to be repaired. They didn't even do all work that they said was going to be done. Full ceilings were not resurfaced as quoted, only a minimal area and with a different paint sheen, so it's completely obvious where they touched. Same with the walls and baseboards. Walls were damaged from removing baseboards and never fixed. Paints don't match on walls. They never did mold removal and didn't reinsulate attic space where water damage was.

Broke the dishwasher seal and improperly reinstalled it. Broke the stove's gas line causing a leak and the gas to be turned off. Was without a stove for 3 days until that was repaired by ourselves. Didn't properly remove old laminate flooring before laying the cheap vinyl they sold us on. You can now feel all the imperfections right through the new floor. Poorly pained a room that didn't even need to be touched, all to compensate the overpriced quoted work they did. Every wall that was painted was done so with a different sheen of paint so all touch ups show. Paint on trim, ceiling, cabinets, door, and new floor.

We were left for 3 weeks with no floor and open walls and all of the material and equipment scattered around the house until they were able to come back out and complete the work. All of this while we were trying to live and function in our home. They sent one guy to do the entire job, and after 1 week of demolition we were told he wouldn't return for another 3 weeks to finish because they are currently understaffed, leaving us to live and function with the mess he created and the material and tools he left behind. Do not call or talk to this company they are the most dishonest company that I have ever dealt with. My house burnt in November of 2020. The insurance company had us get in contact with Servpro of E. Clackamas. They came right over to the house and that is when the lies began, they told us that there would be 2 people working on the house all the time. But most of the time there was only one person. It was downhill from there. We were lied to all the time. They would not give a work schedule or an estimate of how much money they had spent until they were almost done, and then they informed us that we were $30,000.00 over the insurance amount. They had doubled the cost of items and added costs into the amount that I did not understand, and I was told that was if they had to come back and redo any work.

There were items like finish carpenter which there was no finish carpenter on site. The people that Servpro had on site had never done work like this. They installed doors, windows painted the walls and ceiling which they screwed up. I do not know anything about house painting, so I was depending on them to know what paint to use which they didn't. They did not know that you only use flat sheen on sloped ceilings. So, they repainted the ceiling 2 or 3 time before they were told to only use flat sheen paint worked on sloped ceilings. They installed 7 interior doors and all of them had something wrong with them, 2 of them had to be redone. They also installed 8 windows which 5 windows was reinstalled 2 times before they were correct and 2 only had to reinstalled 1 and only 1 window was OK.

We were out of our house until August of 2021. But when we moved back in, we could only use the master bedroom, which wasn't complete, the kitchen, and dining room. The rest of the house wasn't done enough that we could move into it. We lost out on deals for furniture because they would not tell us when we could move in totally. So here it is March the 11, 2022 and it is still not done, and they want us to pay for the poor work that has been done.

If all Servpro is like E. Clackamas don't use them, you will be sorry. Insurance companies need to stop recommending Servpro to the clients. Servpro inflates their cost by double which makes the insurance having to pay for the work that is done. If we had been able to get an outside contractor, we would have been able to stay within the insurance amount. But not being able to tell then when the house would be ready to rebuild, we were unable to do that. Again, all I can say DO NOT USE SERVPRO.

State Farm recommended this company when I had water damage from a leak. They told me I wouldn’t have to worry as State Farm would handle the bill. When all was said and done they paid me less than the bill and left me to handle it so I went through the bill with a fine tooth comb. Not only were all measurements off but about 10 or more sq ft, but they claimed they pulled up 36 sq feet of flooring and didn’t even pull up more than 1 sq ft. They cut all the way through sub flooring so we had to reinforce our floors, it deep gouges in the hall after pulling up tile, bent the frame in the drop ceiling, all costing us a lot of work and money. I do not recommend this company.

DO NOT CALL SERVPRO. DO NOT TRUST THESE FOLKS and franchise owners. They have left our family in worse shape than the original small area of water damage. Untrained workers, brought in by untrained supervisor, leads to disasters and far more damage than you can imagine. They have left wet insulation, damaged appliances, granite tiles in our sink and garbage disposal, completely cutting our sub floors past joist, resulting in even further damages. They conducted an Asbestos test in a piece of linoleum left under the dishwasher. The results came back Positive, The following day a new supervisor and more untrained workers came into our home disrupted the entire flooring, including the positive patch of asbestosis. They failed to seal any and all of our cabinets, pantry, window, HVAC contaminated leaving everything covered in dust and debris.

Each day that passed, I called to let them know things were not going well here and we needed to have support, when they finally sent one of their lead estimators/contractors from their restoration company to look at the damage, he agreed something should be done and this should not have happened to our home. That was the last I heard from ServPro. While waiting on estimate from our contractor for repairs, in the span of 20 days, and after receiving monies from insurance, they will threaten you with a lien on your property for non payment. 20 DAYS! The entire process is NOT worth the corporate name. They closed shop, left town and are desperate. There is so much more that has transpired, but in short this corporation should stand by their word, regardless if these folks left town. IF a McDonald's franchise is sued, they are suing McDonalds and the franchise owner. This is no different.

This company was recommended by the adjuster for Farmers Ins. They came in and tore up carpet, tore off wallpaper and threw all the objects in the bathroom into the bathtub which put lots of little holes into the tub. They replaced the carpet. Put a seam in the carpet where it shouldn’t be. Left raw edges where they capped the stairs. Originally wanted us to pick from office type carpeting. Never did the walls that they were supposed to do. Replaced ceiling in kitchen but painted before dry and didn’t prime spots with Kilz. Note their back and the tape to seal the seams is coming off. Able to see a spot the whole way around the replaced dry wall.

There is more mold above the tub. The wall boards were never replaced and rotted along with being exposed to sewage. They never did anything with the walls after they tore off wallpaper which was also in the paperwork to be done. It was a mess. Nothing got done with complaints to their company or to Farmers Ins. Farmers has very misleading commercials and so does Servpro.

If doing business with Servpro DO NOT trust them. Get everything in writing from measurements, to colors, everything they are going to do right down to the products they are going to use. Better yet just stay away from them. Our homeowners insurance is through USAA subcontracted to Foremost. An insurance claim was initiated Jan. 14, 2021. Insurance agent handling claim is Robert ** in Grand Rapids, MI. Phone number **. Claim number **. A company was hired by our insurance to clean and repair damage. This company is Servpro, 651 Expressway Ct, Gaylord, MI 49735 Phone: (989) 705-2400. Servpro, **, arrived at our home and began work to assess, dry out and pack our belongings on January 16, 2021. We moved into temporary housing on February 10, 2021. After packing and drying was done our house sat for 7 weeks with absolutely no work being done. This was just the beginning of our problems.

Insulation that was removed and placed in back of truck blew all over north side of yard and onto neighbors property. Servpro did not clean that up, my neighbor and I did. Our master bath was painted the wrong color, Servpro fixed that. I found a weak spot in new subfloor, Servpro fixed that. On June 9, 2021 I went to my home as I do daily to feed chickens and Servpro workers were there beginning cabinet installation in kitchen. I told them to stop because all the cabinets were dark grey instead of the white they were supposed to be. I also noticed that new flooring in kitchen is not wall to wall as it was previously, it is only to where about two inches will be under cabinets. I previously spoke with painter about holes still in walls that were not patched prior to painting and was told they did not patch those because cabinets should cover them.

I had ceramic tile and wood laminate floors but chose to go with all vinyl to help get the job done sooner. I also chose cabinets they supposedly have in stock to help speed up the process but as I said previously they brought in the wrong color. I believe I heard one of the workers on the phone with ** say something about spray paint. If they are planning to paint cabinets this is not acceptable. I do not want grey cabinets painted white, I want white cabinets. I asked one of the workers what ** said when he called him and he said that all ** said was oh no, that's not good. I just spoke with ** the project manager with Servpro and he insists I said gray and that he has texts showing I said gray. I have all my texts with Servpro and not once did I say the word gray. We did a design with Pointe Cabinets and Design in Gaylord MI, my husband was there along with ** and the lady who works there. I called her and even she is lying and saying I said gray. She even commented that I said I wanted gray because of my dogs, this is not true!

In a four days this process will be at the five month mark. We could have had a new manufactured home installed in that amount of time and it probably would have cost less. I mentioned this to ** who agreed and said he wished they could do that but that Michigan puts so many restrictions on insurance companies their hand are tied.

I lost my home and everything in it in the house fire recently and Serv Pro was Johnny on the spot to help me out as it were... State Farm my insurance company sent them. These people are the epitome of scammers. They don't want you there when they're taking your stuff out and documenting it supposedly...

They tell you it's for your safety- however they want to get you out of there as fast as they can so you don't remember what the hell you had. Then they swoop it up. They tell you they'll take jewelry over here and have it clean. The electronics go here and have it clean. This will be over here. Your documents will dry. They tell you that there's a place for everything and they're going to get it back to you like it never happened... That's exactly what happens like it never happened because they never do a damn thing.

Servpro I worked with claims that he doesn't know anything about that. What jewelry he says... What Electronics??? $30,000 worth of stereo/computer equipment- and a home theater? We didn't notice that when we were in here cleaning up... They promise they will get your things to the appropriate location and back to you within 36 hours... They lost my passport... And claimed they knew nothing about it... They took a lifetime worth of documents that they promised to attempt to dry out and get back to you and they don't have a record of it- because they don't want to deal with it! However they will not let you have it because then- if you become involved you become very aware of what they're doing.

I was promised that Servpro owned their own construction company that was going to come in and rebuild for me. They said that I'd be back in my home in 2 months. During those two months they never went back to my house. They never did anything. He's still sitting there empty... When I call them they claim it's because I haven't paid them?

They're supposed to get paid from the insurance company not me... Yet they called frantically you need to pay us you need to pay us... Like I'm some sort of low-hanging fruit like that they can take advantage of. Their attempt at gaslighting me did not work. I told him that poor planning on his part did not constitute an emergency on mine. They wanted $15,000 for a cleanup and another $25, 000 so they could buy cabinets... It's my fault that they haven't been in there to rebuild because I haven't paid my bill. This is so screwed up on so many levels I just stopped communicating.

Talk about a bunch of malignant narcissist all attempting to incite fear on the victim. They know that if you're damaged or broken enough from having lost everything that you will do exactly what they tell you to because you put your life in their hands. They made sure of that. 10 minutes after the fire was out that I had signed a document that said, "We will take care of everything... We are here for you and we will get you through this." Nothing could have been further from the truth.

There's a class action lawsuit where hundreds of thousands of people have stood in line to sue both Servpro and State Farm because they've teamed up and then they went one step further by telling you that they also have a handy dandy contracting company that's affiliated with them that doesn't exist... I read thousands and thousands of documents that people wrote about their experience with these fraudulent companies. They did get a settlement eventually, however shortly after they were fined and warned that committing another felony by teaming up together was not an option- they did so again. They actually teamed up again the three of them and are back at it. Apparently it was so lucrative that it doesn't matter how badly damaged their reputation is because people trust them when they've lost everything.

Google State Farm to see how good of an insurance company they are and your mouth will drop. By far and away they are the leading failure amongst insurance companies. I lost hundreds of thousands of dollars to this day that I'm aware of, and I'm willing to almost walk away from all of it just to get away from these people it's so toxic. If I have to live on food stamps and public housing then I'll do it because I'm never going to get anything from these people of any substance. As time goes on they become more and more abusive and neglectful...

I've called hundreds of attorneys and apparently this is a subspecialty- bad faith claims, that no one really is educated enough to take on. I'm not saying it's not lucrative, they just don't want to do it... It takes a lot of time and a lot of really powerful lawyers to pull off a successful class action lawsuit. You'd think since they're doing it again that the payout was so good the first time that the lawyers would be standing in line begging for you to come to them so that they could be a part of it... That's not the case they don't want to get involved... It's like no one cares that you exist.

The very people that you hope that are going to be on your team should a disaster strike are the people that rob you blind... It's the most insidious crap I've ever had the displeasure of experiencing. They charged $15,000 for this service- actually all they did was go in and steal my stuff and then charge me for the stealing... I got a $600 bill for the construction dumpster that they used to put all my belongings in so they could drive it away... Fabulous!!!

It seems that all the high dollar items are the ones they have no clue about. The exhaustive list of items that they say they documented are things like: six boxes of generic Jell-O... Three boxes of generic Kleenex from the dollar store. Hundreds of pages like this adding up to be nothing... They don't show you that before they charge the $15,000 though they want you to think that they've got everything handled and that it's all coming back to you nicely and neatly as soon as these other people that they've hired get their ** together. It's never their fault.

The reality is there was never a jeweler, there was never an electronics guy, there was never a document salvaging crew, there wasn't anything except a huge construction dumpster that was loaded with my entire life- that they took home to their families no doubt... It was only when I said I made a police report, and I called a lawyer, that my wedding ring all of a sudden turned up... Ironic isn't it?

Stay as far away from these malignant narcissists as possible... It wasn't losing everything in the fire that has worn me down, it is not 14 months of being immune compromised- and locked up because of a pandemic that his warn me down, it is the response to the loss- That is the loss. Turns out stuff is just stuff... People on the other hand, are monsters. The pandemic been lucrative for them. They blame everything on it must be the pandemic but the jeweler hasn't gotten back to me... If you're wondering- oh god this lady is crazy??? Just google State Farm and Servpro and read about what they have done to their victims... I don't believe in hell- but if there were a place called hell- oh there'd be a special front row seat for these people!!!

This was a huge job, removing and replacing all the drywall, plaster, floor and much of the subfloor, electrical, plumbing, mechanical. Servpro took care of everything, hiring a general contractor who in turn brought in subs as needed. They were also constructive in dealing with cranky building inspectors. They also handled the cleaning of furniture, books, and some of the other contents. My house had water damage in two areas on May 5th. It is now November 24th (over 6 months) and my house is still not fixed. The mitigation team from Servpro was great. They were done in a timely manner. The restoration team has been a nightmare to work with. No one contacted me for at least two weeks after the restoration was completed. Then had to wait another 2 weeks for the lead contractor to come out just to look. Then I'm told they are behind, and it could be a few weeks before they get started. Keep in mind, it's not insurance holding them up. I have already received the insurance break down of what they will pay and a check for that amount. I even offered to pay what I had that day to get this started (at this point I had no stove, kitchen sink, or dishwasher). They also received the same information from the insurance company, but I had to send it again on June 10th because they claimed they didn't get it.

They finally send out some flooring people and cabinet people to get estimates. Then nothing for a month. They send their #2 guy that says he doesn't know anything the first guy did, and they basically have to start over. July 10th, I have to resend all the information the insurance has already sent them. Two weeks later, the #2 guy sends out new flooring and cabinet people to make new estimates. The flooring lady sets a date for me to come pick the flooring. Then I'm told, no, that has to wait because they have not sent her a budget. The #2 guy says it's not included in the insurance estimate. I resend it. My insurance lady resent it. It was on the original file the whole time. Nothing is being fixed this whole time.

By July 31st the #1 guy is back on the case and says they are behind. Then days later, I have to contact them again to ask what is going on (3 months into this mess). End of August, I reach out again. The only thing completed was some dry wall at this point. The bathroom is completely ripped up (no tub, shower, sink, toilet...nothing). My counter is being held up with 2 by 4s, no flooring at all in the kitchen. No one contacted me again until October 2 (a Friday) to go look at flooring. I go the very next day. At this point, I have already moved out of the house because despite their slowness, I have to continue my life. I have a co-worker house sitting, because I can't rent a torn up house. I have to give him some notice before I show up to look at the floors. The flooring company is closed Sunday. As soon as I can on Monday, I send them my flooring choices.

October 24th, the flooring lady apologizes for not getting back to me with the total cost (now over 5 months into this). After it's all finally settled, I pay the difference for an upgrade in flooring to be told it'll be a few weeks before they can start. It is now 11/24 still waiting on my house to be put back together. I'm paying two mortgages because I can't rent and not sure if it'll even be fixed by the end of the year.

I call to complain to be told that it's basically my fault for not moving fast enough on the flooring, I didn't complain sooner, and that I should have cancelled with them back in August if I was unhappy. What?? I was supposed to foresee how slow they'd be in August? Why would I assume that? And that's your answer to being ridiculously slow? It's the customer's fault for not complaining loudly enough sooner? They are overpriced, no negotiation, beyond slow, and gas-lighting customers for THEIR inadequacy. Would never recommend.

The bottom line, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure, protect yourself even in the grief of the crisis, people are there to take advantage of you, and they will. This is the result of a claim this year, learn from my pain, grief and loss, wish somebody would have warned me.

Mine was a smallish job, a bathtub flood in a 2 bedroom duplex. While the mitigation and tear down phases went very well, when the job was handed off to the restoration crew it all fell apart. First of all, the way they have compartmentalized their functional arms seems disjointed and led to some communication snafus. Secondly, the estimator and lead for their restoration effort was completely disinterested and incompetent. After 2 weeks of no start, I was told the hang up was tile: no longer available at Lowe's. So I picked a reasonable substitute via email that would take a week to come in.

In the meanwhile, I presumed carpet, wall board and subfloor could start. Alas, not so. The estimator could not locate any contractors and could not start for another 3 weeks out. My tenant at this point had been out of her home for nearly a month. I went to Lowe's and found the exact tile in stock and bought it. Fired Servpro and hired another company who said they could do the job within a week. Frankly, I don't think Servpro cared. I was lied to again and again until the relationship became dysfunctional. End of story.

This company not only damaged furniture (dropped a mahogany desk over a upstairs landing) had to replace flooring they put down as it all popped up, took things from our home (they refused to return them unless we signed their release paper). Dragged the project on for almost 3 years. Would leave our job to do work elsewhere as our insurance company had paid them in full at the beginning, so they would take on other new jobs, leaving ours unfinished. Stole items from kitchen cabinets. When we returned to our home all the items from our kitchen (dishes, glassware) were gone. Broke items (Waterford crystal).

Another was a mirror that was handed down in our family for generations. They took pieces of the mirror with the promise that they would find someone to repair it. It had etching on it. When we asked for the return of the pieces so we could find someone to repair the mirror, they declined the return. The same was for our brass sconces from the entryway to our home.

They removed our Mahogany desk without our permission when we were gone and refused to return it. There was nothing wrong with the desk. The desk was part of a 3 piece set and they said they planned on replacing all 3 pieces. We got a quote from where we purchased the exact set and submitted it. They never acknowledged it. We finally told them we would be happy with just the return of the desk they took and also the return of our glass mirror pieces and the brass sconces. We got an email back saying that nothing would be returned unless we signed their release paper. Isn't this a form of blackmail? I have all emails along with documentation. The job was handled very unprofessionally. When one of the managers wanted to know if the Port-a-Potty's had been picked up he emailed my wife "has anyone picked up the ** yet?" My wife tried very hard to work along with these people with praise whenever possible.

Please, please beware if you are thinking of taking the chance of hiring this company. My wife and I are senior citizens and myself am a retired Veteran of 25 yrs in the USMC. Our health is not good and this company knew it. They drag the repair of our home for almost 3 years as they had already been paid by our insurance company. This has been one of the worst experiences of a lifetime. We came to Florida to retire and enjoy the golden years but came to this disaster instead. The next day it rained and it leaked like a sieve. I called Servpro. They said they would have someone come out. They never showed. After calling them five more times that week a guy from Servpro called and asked what the problem was. I told him that the tarp they put on was leaking very bad doing more damage to the inside of the house. He said he would be out within an hour. He never showed.

After getting a contractor to come out and re tarp the roof the guy from Servpro called me and said that we owed them $2,500 for them putting the tarp on. I told him there was no way I was paying that that because the tarp leaked. It cost me another $2,000 in damages to the floors and walls on the inside of the house. Never got a bill or heard from them until almost a year later they sent me a bill for $687. Now they boxed so messy. Stuff just thrown in boxes and yes even wet stuff was thrown in boxes that I’m still going through. The plastic totes that were boxed with mine and my son's stuff neatly that water couldn’t even touch being in a plastic tote they had gone through all that stuff and threw in boxes. Nothing is neat.

Then they would put all this heavy wooden silver wear on top of fragile stuff at the bottom of box stuff that was not broken is broken. All my son's big toys that doesn’t break apart easy that was left together they took apart and parts thrown everywhere. We are still going through stuff and I’m so disappointed and heartbroken that a company you pay for to take care and treat your stuff like it was their own did not. Sentimental stuff that was packed in plastic tote is now thrown in boxes and half the stuff is broke. It’s a shame a company has people that works like this.

When they had it boxed and out in containers they tried bringing the stuff back in without even scrubbing and cleaning. There was mold still on walls and in cracks. Bringing furniture back in with mold before cleaning was wrong. We have gone round and round. Just a clear warning. Do research before hiring a company to take care of your belongings and make sure you watch every little thing they do. I could keep going on and on but I think y’all get the picture. We also didn’t get to see everything they threw away like they said we would so also a lot of sentimental stuff was probably trashed. They broke so much stuff that was not even broken before. They informed me they worked with Liberty Mutual before so I trusted both parties that I was in good hand. I proceeded with ServPro after receiving authorization from my insurance. Confident that pricing was going to be settled between ServPro and Liberty Mutual since I informed them both that I would like all cost to be covered by my insurance. I was kept out of the loop with pricing from both parties until work was completed.

Little did I know that ServPro did not share their pricing fee with the insurance company. I signed a blank authorization form for them to begin the work with the understanding from their technician and company that they will be within the insurance pricing parameter. This was not the case. I am slapped with a large remaining balance blindsided. They are now threatening to file small claims and put a lien on my home. This is very unethical. Pricing should have been discussed and agreed before any work is conducted. Pricing should have been disclosed! I have hundreds of emails going back and forth with the owner Dion and his unprofessional nasty sister that runs the office Julie. They put charges on their invoices for services never performed. The reason they didn't want to send it over is because they are SCAMMERS charging for services never performed and the only way they were able to do this lien (online) was because they have their company in other states. Again they are scammers. Their lien held no weight in NYC. They are a nightmare. I have emails backing up everything. I am warning people save yourself the stress from these scammers. You will regret hiring this company. The only reason they are acknowledged is because the owner Dion goes to natural disaster sites. Not because of their work here.

Please save yourself the headache and stress. Also, they will damage your personal property and make it seem like they are not liable you have to fight them to replace your damaged property. Did I almost forget they will charge for triple the machines that they had at your property. Good thing I always took pictures and the scammers had no choice but to acknowledge that they put that in as a "mistake". It wasn't a mistake. It's them trying to get over as with all the other "mistakes" for services never performed. This doesn't even sum up the nightmare I have dealt with this company. The unthinkable had just occurred and we were devastated. To top it off, the whole area surrounding us flooded majorly that night. My insurance agent reached out to Servpro of West Fort Bend County to assist. The owner was onsite the very next day to explain how everything works. I was probably irritating by all the questions I had but he happily answered every one of them.

The next 6 days everything salvageable was packed up to be cleaned. There is NO way we could have done it on our own... not physically, mentally or emotionally. Lettie was the lead on our packout along with several others. These angels spent days inventorying everything. We may have been pack rats at that time lol. After our items were removed and the next crew came in to remove sheetrock, carpet, insulation and remediate the dwelling Everyone did great and did exactly what they are supposed to do!

Nearly 7 months later, our home is done and servpro returned our salvaged items. Sure... some things are not perfect but I'm amazed by many items they were able to properly clean. It is MY job to work with the insurance adjuster over a few thing to be added to the contents losses. It was our job to monitor the work as it was completed and ask questions. I believe some reviews here are unfair to Servpro as some complaints are not their job to do. Let me start by saying, don’t expect ServPro corporate to help out if you have trouble with one of their franchises. We have had major issues with ServPro of Bath and called corporate for help. They said they could do nothing. The franchise have to decide everything for themselves. Corporate also repeatedly promised someone would call to discuss the problems with us. We never received a call. First, we chose ServPro because of its reputation. We foolishly believed we could leave our home open to the people they hired with no worry that anything bad would happen. That did not happen. We left the door to our apartment open so the employees could clean out the landing area after hiring them on September 14th.

When we returned to the house on September 21st, our neighbor informed us that work on the house had started on Friday, September 20th, not Tuesday, September 17th, as we were told it would. We also discovered someone had gone through every drawer, closet and cabinet. They drank the remainder of two bottles of rum and took an unopened bottle of wine. They stole a stainless steel beer koozy and a stainless steel wine cup that held sentimental value as they were gifts.

We informed the site managers of the thefts. Within an hour, one of the employees got out of his vehicle with the beer koozy in his hand and returned it to us. We told the site managers we wanted the landing in the apartment area cleaned out before we left for our Virginia home on Sunday. They sent people in, who took up the floor and part of one wall. At that point they told us the job in that area was complete. We locked the door and left for Virginia at that point, believing no one would be allowed in that part of the house again, as we informed the people in charge of the site what had occurred.

The next Saturday, September 28th, we returned to Ocracoke to find the door had been unlocked and someone had been in the apartment again. This time a pair of speakers were missing along with some canned goods. The restroom had been used as well and, as the water had been shut off, a mess was left behind. There was also a cap with “Florida” left in the middle of the room. At that point we filed a burglary report with the Ocracoke sheriff’s department.

We then asked for a meeting with the franchise owner, which we had on October 3rd. At that meeting he told us he took full responsibility for what happened in our home. He shared with us he hired this work crew over the phone, sight unseen and sent them to our home with no ServPro employee supervising them, which is what should have happened, according to him. At the end of the meeting he stated, "obviously, we will do whatever you want.” We took a week to think this over, during which time, we did not hear from him.

On October 12th, we met with a contractor that was willing to restore our home. He informed us he would not start the rebuilding as there was more cleaning up to do. 80% of the underpinning and insulation under the house was not removed by Servpro, and was holding moisture and mold. There were five more walls to tear out, one of which has visible mold. There was another sub floor that needs to be removed that was holding moisture. Also, there were doors that were not removed, as well as two baseboard heaters and a central vac not remove, even though the baseboard heaters and doors were removed from the rest of the house. If we had been unable to return to the house for a month or two for whatever reason, and it was left in this condition, with us believing it was dry and mold free, what would its condition have been then?

At our first meeting ServPro, the franchise owner quoted us a price of between $18,000.00 and $23,000.00 to complete the work. Although we never received a written estimate, we took this as a verbal agreement. On October 13th he told us the total invoice came to $46,000.00. How did the price double? After the experience, we will never consider hiring any ServPro for any reason nor would we recommend them to anyone. From the thefts and burglary to the poorly done and unfinished job, I can say this is the worst experience with a nationally known company we have ever had.

Eventually, after the smoke cleared, literally, and include think, we spent some time and it felt like a good option, water and smoke damage was the big problem.

    1) They said they'd move it out, get it cleaned, return it when I was ready up to a year. Well, they did that, and more. My house was 1400 sq ft, which is relevant. My main living room wall contained 150 or so books, some almost 100 yrs old, all returned like nothing had ever happened. Same with the art work, my curtains. Everything in the living room except for my 4 piece furniture set, and my 65" plasma tv, that happen to be between those big book shelves, and mounted 6 feet above the brick fireplace... They returned my bedding, but no bed. My clothes, but no dresser. My table with no chairs. They claimed to document everything, and simply didn't. All of which on the second floor on the opposite end of the house.

    2) They recommend I work with green construction, some subsidy I don't know...but like I said, sun room was torch, few siding and walls needed rebuilding. They tells me, "We're going to wash everything best we can. Just clean its really good. Maybe twice if we have to." Went back there a month later and the house is down to the frame. The entire house. Just frame.

    3) We work with a great insurance adjuster to help you through the process, and get you more money. They took me out for lunch and everything. Week later, ok, we made the deal, sign these checks, and we're good to go. Awesome news. Week later, no money. I was supposed to get some for you know, hotel, new clothes, whatever. Call the bank, all the checks cleared. Except 1. I won't say how much, but it was enough to buy a new house. The checks cleared yet are somehow missing. Now I still can't get in touch with anyone. I did not know most of these people are out for lunch at 11 on Monday, unless it's Tuesday, then it's 2. Or Friday its 1230. You get it. For some reason they're sick all the time, and on vacation. I had an inspector notice a leak around the toilet. I called ServPro, they were very nice and polite. I know why now. They kept telling me the damage was around the toilet, even after the tile and cement board was taken up. They placed the blower under the house and in the bathroom for three days. After that they said it was all dried. I didnt like the wood being brittle in front of the tub and a hole in front of the tub, the size of a softball. I had some people come over and help get the tub out. And guess what we found? There was a 1 x 4 board there to brace the tub and that board was soak. This was found after the claim to the insurance company was filed.

I contact servpro and I have not heard back from them. There are 2 things, either the meter wasn't working or they didn't want to take the tub out. The tub was one that was a shell, that had the roof, sides and tub all in one and was fiberglass. And it was a hassle to get out. I tend to believe that they are good at being friendly and not wanting the difficult and hassle work to do. The tub had to be cut in four sections to be removed, it was a very dusty job. Now, I'm not only out of my deductible on my home insurance, but, the extra expense of having the floor and tub replaced with my insurance. The whole time that the guys that came, kept assuring, that nothing was under tub, that it was toilet and the water ran down. This tub was 40 years old and fiberglass, it appears that it could have had a crack in it.

I would like to make a suggest, go with your gut and do not, do not, fill out their comments until ALL the work is done. I thought they were very friendly and had the equipment and experience to know better than me. WRONG!!!!! I thank God, that I did not want to leave the plywood like it was and decided to tear out the tub. Otherwise the joist would eventually have decayed and it would have been a bigger expense in the long run. I called three days ago to report this and I'm still waiting on a return call back.

As the job went on the company wanted to quit halfway through and leave the uncleaned surfaces and walls dirty. It was difficult to reach. Fortunately my partner intervened and literally worked to finish the job for three hours. She did the most difficult part. The next day we discussed a revision on the bill. The initial bill was in excess of $1550 dollars for basically 6 hours of an incomplete job. All was to be cleaned and extracted. It was not.

Stay away from ServPro - they are awful. After a snow storm, lost power and sump pump failing, there was flooding in the basement and they were supposedly reputable... 2 guys showed up, unable to give us a price. And they were there for less than 2 hours during which they could not remove the water. That same week we received a bill for $1900. I wish I could make over $900 an hour. In addition they quoted areas we cleaned up which were not even touched such as the bathroom in the basement that had ZERO water in it at all.

After power was restored we asked for a quote to remove carpeting and dry out our basement which is less than 2000 sq ft - they quote a price of $10k and to leave it raw/undone as well as stating there could be mold and trying to escalate things. Of course we declined and found a much better co that cost 1/2 that amount, and they actually tested for mold of which there was zero since it was 15 degrees out at the time and only 48 hours after the storm..which is not enough time or the conditions for mold to grow anywhere.

Anyhow we told them the price was ridiculous and they said they would review and get back to us. They responded several months later that their accounts payable person was away from the office and would advise.. then nothing. Flash forward to more than a year later we just receive a letter demanding payment with NO bill and stating an even more inflated amount that "includes interest" with no base amount mentioned or invoice and threatening to damage our credit and threats of a lawsuit and legal fees - I don't know who is doing the creative accounting over there or thinks they are a legal genius, but this company should be shut down for unlawful business practices and false statements as well as price gouging during a storm, and clearly zero documentation of their hourly costs and work. AVOID THEM AT ALL COSTS.

I wish I had an option to select 0 stars for this company. Do not waste your time with this company, Servpro of Northwest Cincinnati. See other 1 star reviews. Their fangs came out when something went wrong. This company was very nice and friendly during their water mitigation process but completely different when there were issues with their work.

For my aunt's house water flooding mitigation, they finished their job and left the basement wood frames wet which then caused severe warping on the wooden panels throughout her entire 400 sq ft basement. Servpro blamed the company that had finished up my basement and continued their no fault stance. The company that finished my basement stated that Servpro was completely at fault as they did not dry up the wood frames properly. Now there is also mold growing in her basement. So I spent over $200 of MY OWN MONEY to get an independent assessment and it clearly pointed out that Servpro did not properly dry up the wood frames and was at fault for causing severe warping to the wood panels. Even with this independent assessment, Servpro denied their wrong doing and would not own up to replacing my wood panels.

Oh by the way, this took over 2 months as they took their time to assess and only assessed under pressure from my insurance agent. In the meantime, my aunt is waiting for resolution before she can put her house back on the market for sale. Complete disregard for their customer's well being. No way to run an operation. This has been an awful 2 months trying to help my aunt. As Servpro will not own up to their fault, I will be pursuing legal actions although it will be very costly for my aunt. Hope this post helps. Do not go with Servpro unless you enjoy pulling your hair out.

Among many examples of not admitting fault, this one is the best. You will get a good laugh out of this one. My aunt's basement has wood frames (6 to 8) in the middle of her basement that separates the living and storage areas. Servpro's top supervisor came out to assess with me there as well. He measured those wood frames for wetness and showed dryness at the base of the wood frames and wet near the water line marked with water stain. His conclusion was that there could have been additional water damage that could have caused wetness in the middle of the wood and not at the base of the wood. WOW!!! I know I am not a mitigation professional but my common sense tells me that it would be nearly impossible to have wet wood in the middle of the wood frame when it's dry at the base. I did not realize that water can float in air and damage just the middle of the wood with flood water stain and not cause wetness at the bottom.

Then they sent us to collections demanding that payment. On top of that, the tarp mostly came off the roof on the first winds, not protecting from water on the fire damaged roof like it was supposed to. We agreed to have them come. I gave the tech a credit card over the phone for the $500. They came out about 11:15 pm, stayed until about 2 am, left their machines running for almost a week before coming to pick them up. Moved furniture and didn't put it back, left footprints on the carpet from going outside, and even spilled water from one of their machines and didn't clean it up.

Between the initial visit and the time they came to pick up their equipment, a guy came out to do what I thought would be a mold remediation assessment to see if we'd need that option but no, he didn't do anything while there. 20 days later, I get a phone call telling me we owe an additional $1300 for their services. At no time during the course of the transaction were we ever told there would be additional charges!! VERY SHADY way to do business!! A few hours later another office girl calls. Said the manager was busy but stated if I sign this form they would redo the bill and stand by the price and acknowledged that I was overcharged. Okay so I sign the form send it back wait for a revised bill. Nope nothing so 3 more weeks go by and I get a call from another rude staff saying I need to pay my bill. "Okay no problem. Upon the crew's first arrival the overall professional appearance of crew members that you see in their advertisements was unfortunately not who I greeted at my front door. There were no uniforms, no well groomed men and woman coming to save the day. I was greeted by 1 professionally kept man, the project leader I presume, and 2 other men; later I found out were from a local staffing agency.

The project leader and one of the men from the staffing agency were friendly and filled me in on what they were doing every step of the way. The third man hardly even acknowledged my existence even when I welcomed him into my home and went to shake his hand. I had an appointment later that morning that I could not reschedule. I was a little bit uncomfortable leaving strangers in my home, as anyone would be, but we do have numerous security cameras which is comforting in situations such as this.

Upon returning home the crew had already completed the job and the drying fans were fast at work. But the fans aren’t the only thing that they left behind. Right away I notice 2 long gouges in the wood floors in my hallway which prompted me to look over other areas of my home for damage. I found scuff marks and dirty hands prints on many of my doors and door frames. Trails of water drips (from leaking hoses) all over my floors. Plants and plant stands were moved, mind you they were in a room that these people at no business being in at all.

I also found many dried white footprints throughout my house on my carpets, which I believe they had stepped in the cleaner they use to prevent mold growth after water damage and had proceeded to track it everywhere. Not to mention the poor job they did at vacuuming up the mess from having to cut and removal damaged drywall.

At this point I found it to be appropriate to look back through my surveillance footage to get to the bottom of all the damages. Clear as day I see one of the men from the staffing agency DRAGGING a large trash bag full of debris down my stairs, across my wood floored hallway and into my kitchen. Now this trash bag included baseboards with nails still in them and tack board used for carpeting (also full of tiny nails). I can hear my floors beings scratched by this careless act and So. Does. He. Because he stops, turns around and bends over to look at the damage he’s does, shrugs his shoulders and finally lifts up the bag as he should have done from the beginning and carries it the rest of the way to the door.

Upon this man returning in my house he took a detour into my dining room, which is the room where he proceeded to move my plants so he could more freely walk the equipment back outside through that room as opposed to the front door which by the way the front door is the far easier exit than my very cluttered dining room. Subsequently he ended up scratching the piano in my dining room with something while removing equipment as well. At this point it became very apparent this man was thirsty from all his hard work because he began to look for a cup in my kitchen and when he couldn’t find one he proceeded to put his mouth right ON my kitchen faucet and help himself to a drink of water, which to me was probably the most unsettling thing about this entire experience.

I understand that curiosity is a natural human instinct especially when working in other people's homes, I’ve been there myself, we all sort of wonder how others live but all three of these men were uncomfortably curious about other rooms in my home. Two of them even proceeded to open and read birthday cards that were hanging on my refrigerator, take photos of artwork hanging on my walls and stare a little too long at personal photos around my home. To top off this entire experience we were filing this claim with our homeowners insurance and from what I was being told by ServPro my homeowners insurance was going to pay ServPro directly therefore it was not my obligation to worry about payment.

After a few weeks went by I begin getting phone calls from a woman trying to collect payment. I continued to keep her as up-to-date as I was in regards to the payment from my insurance company. The third time she called she was increasingly annoyed at the fact that they had not been paid out yet. Come to find out weeks later from my insurance company, ServPro never submitted the “direction to pay” paperwork needed for them to be paid directly as opposed to me having to pay them from my settlement. Finally to wrap this up, I would not recommend ServPro to anyone- find another company to do your remediation.

I told the contractor this is not what I was supposed to get and I am fighting this, they now put a lien on my house. The contractor is a liar, they tried to charge for things they did not do. We called ServPro on a Sunday after a heavy rain and roof issues. Caused our dining room ceiling to leak, then parts of the ceiling fell in and we had water and insulation all over the dining room and surrounding areas. ServPro answered our call right away, and got someone out soon after we called them. They closed off the ceiling with plastic, and they set up industrial fans and a dehumidifier running and to get it drying right away. The service from ServPro was EXCELLENT! Since moving to this area, I have not dealt with any company with this type of service. Promptly returned all calls. The most trustworthy owner and employees. That is hard to find! Always addressed me respectfully. Just a true pleasure to work with from the first visit here to the last.

I got a call from a neighbor that water from my Summer home was coming out of my living room. When I arrived I found a pipe in the ceiling had burst and was pouring water inside the house for at least 2 days. I called ServPro and they wanted to send someone out that night. We scheduled them to come out the following day at 10:00 am. Although they were about an hour late they did call me and tell me they would be late. They had brought in an awesome group of people to clean up and clean out everything that was damaged. It took them 2 days just to do the removal of carpet, drywall, furniture etc. They finished up about 7:00 pm on Sunday night. My property is in Northeast MD and I can say that it's been a long time since I have seen such professional and courteous work as their's was. The drying out is still going on but I could not be happier with the people I have dealt with and work they have done.

Executive Summary: find someone other than ServPro. Why? Read on. My wife and I are 74-year-old senior citizens... We read reviews, but seldom write them. However, when treated unfairly and paying $8000 for an incomplete job…prospective customers need responsible feedback. Our reaction to the existing 5-star reviews…total fiction. Our stars: 1.

My reviews are few but accurate. What follows is fully supported by detailed, time-stamped emails and photos. During 2018, we, personally, labored to finish the job, making four roundtrips FL to CO and continued to seek a remedy with the ServPro ownership. Afforded multiple opportunities to visit the site, they declined. What follows is fully supported by detailed, time-stamped emails and photos.

We were introduced to ServPro in October 2017. Just one of a series of unfortunate events: 1) negligent, irresponsible renters in Castle Rock who finally “noticed” black spots on the basement wood floor; 2) Insurance company, American Family, denied the claim... No coverage for slow, hidden basement leaks which emanated from the first floor kitchen drain; and then, finally, 3) ServPro to the “rescue”.

    1. Logistics. I had asked ServPro/Boulder about the logistics of taking the job in Castle Rock and was told: “No problem. Our teams are everywhere.” Probably true. It appears ServPro/Boulder ownership shares a commonality with other Denver area ServPro franchisees. Moral of the story: Think twice about selecting another Denver area ServPro franchise. 2. Time to completion according to them: 3-4 days. Rather, after a month, they labelled it “complete”. The reality: Not complete as of this December 2018 writing.

    3. Communication with Kris, the Team Supervisor. In general, while normally timely, all-too-often, the information was inaccurate and/or incomplete. On one occasion, I was told they would be back on Tuesday. Only after my prompting did they return on Thursday. On another occasion, Kris said it was ready for the plumber to fix the leaking drain pipe. The reality: they hadn't even removed the basement wallboard that fronted the pipe. After the plumber finished (second trip), they hadn't removed the moldy pipe so, the air tester professional, who was on scene since the job "was ready", couldn't test due to possible pipe air contamination. The comedy of these types of errors was continuous.

    4. Cost Mentality? Kris convinced me to remove the existing wallboard, up to around 20". My direction to him: "Fine. Makes sense. Go ahead." What then happened and why? Well, I questioned the number of visits Kris made to the site. Not many I suspect. But his team, left to their own devices, removed the existing wallboard with cuts of 25" and higher from the floor. So, what is wrong? Well, as many know (his team members apparently didn't know nor care), wallboard comes in 48"X96" pieces. If you need to cut the new piece high-than-24"X96 ", you get only one usable cut from the new piece. The rest is wasted. Thus, the cost for me to subsequently fix what they caused (labor and materials), nearly doubled.

Another example. Their “completed” job left nothing done with the basement bathroom floor. Wow. This, after having ripped out 1” thick flooring everywhere else. Meanwhile, the 1/8” thick linoleum in the bathroom was left untouched. Guess what I found after tearing out the linoleum, the floor trim, and 20” high wallboard? Yes, mold. And I have pictures of both before and after.

    5. State of Completion. After their designated completion, was the mold gone? Hardly. After the environmental consultant again came to inspect, he felt that an air sample would be a waste of time and money. In short, he said: "Keep cleaning, especially in all areas and cracks around the vertical drain pipe." I did so another 40 plus hours cleaning, scrubbing, spraying, and sealing. 6. Conclusion. Find somebody else.

It was stated that someone in the office had the flu and that they were Completely swamped with trying to reschedule!

This person has been out with the flu for more than a week – they didn’t see fit to even call about rescheduling, however they took my money for the estimate $150. That’s how they make their money, they do their estimates but don’t come back to do the work. Buyer beware with these people. When I asked the woman, "Was there someone available to do the work?" she told me to look on the Internet and find ServiceMaster Pro, they could do it for me, I guess she wants me to pay another estimate fee for someone to come not do the work.

Beware of how this company bills their customers. The insurance company sent them out for a water leak (at the time we thought we had a leak under the tile) at my property in the kitchen area. A very small area between the sink (island) and stove area. It was a Saturday, so it is considered an emergency call. My complaint is not about the service provided, but about the bill. The crew that came out was courteous. They wiped the floor where the wet spot was and proceeded to set up a dehumidifier machine, and then took some pictures. I never got an estimate for what would be billed nor was I told that they would bill me for TRAVEL TIME as well as time to input all the info into their computer system.

I'm sorry... but if a company is going to bill you by the hour, shouldn't the customer be aware of this? The second day when a different crew came by to check, there was no water coming up from the tile anymore (plumber couldn't find the leak) yet after talking with the manager back at the office, they tried to push me to get an air scrubber equipment set up. Why try to push more equipment on me when there's no water damage, no leak, etc... Very dishonest and opportunistic, and not a good business practice. I refused to have that installed and the crew was getting frustrated with his manager because there was nothing else he could try to push on me since I had already said no.

Clearly, since they thought I was going through insurance they could pad the invoice as much as possible, except I didn't go through insurance in the end. Needless to say, the bill was ridiculous. I would NEVER recommend this company because they are dishonest and they do not conduct business in good faith. Don't let what happened to me happen to other unsuspecting people. Make sure you get an estimate for the work to be performed and make sure they disclose they will bill you for inputting data as well as driving from their office to your property and back to the office.

I had water in my basement (office) and called ServPro, who said a crew could come that day to do the extraction. When Greg walked in the door, the first thing he confirmed was that this would not be covered by insurance and would require a $1000 deposit. I agreed, even though he hadn't seen the damage. When we went downstairs, he started talking about removing trim and cutting 2' up the wallboards. Since I had been through this before, I suggested he use his Meter device to check the moisture levels in the walls, which were low. He started to talk about carpet removal- I told him it was not padded, concrete floors below.

Finally he measured and we went upstairs to talk price. He worked off a tablet, and calculated the total removal cost at $1000 (or less) for the square footage and a (now lowered after seeing job) $750 deposit might cover it all. I took detailed notes while we talked after he told me they don't provide written estimates. They started extraction right away with a wand. I was often downstairs as the tech removed the water, wearing socks, and was very pleased at my carpet going from standing water to damp and mentioned that several times to both of them.

A few hours into it, 2 girls showed up with a weighted extractor. There was much discussion between the 4 of them that were excited to have this available to use (from another job) since their "Boss" wouldn't buy one. I helped move the cords as he went over the same area he had already used the wand on with the extractor. I was with them at all times, heard all the conversation between them. A second time Greg told me that my bill shouldn't top $1000. He left more fans than really needed for the space, and an extra large dehumidifer (which was the equipment he had on hand), and they left. My basement was dry (as expected) after 2 days and I left the equipment off until they came to pick it up on the 4th day. He brought in a spray bottle and "treated" the area as they removed equipment.

A few weeks later I got a final bill for additional $652.40. Long story short, after trying on multiple occasions to go over the charges and hearing nothing but untruths and exaggerations from both Greg ("We needed the weighted extractor because of the (non-existent) padding") and Stacey in billing I was finally told of additional charges he never detailed with me while I was asking for an estimate.

I now conclude they make charges fit whatever bill they decide to present you. I was told they don't give detailed costs bills (!!), had to insist on one. The antimicrobial agent spray he used a small bit of? $75.62. The weighted extractor they brought in which wasn't needed? Twice the cost of the wand. And hey- they only charged me for a large dehumidifer instead of the XL (also not necessary, it's what he had on hand), so they SAVED me money! And they didn't charge for for an emergency call (what emergency call? I called, they said they could come that day!) so I SAVED money there! And he forgot to tell me about the equipment set up, manipulation charges, etc. Oops.

My recommendation? Insist on a written estimate BEFORE they start work. They will tell you one thing and charge way above that. I write this days after paying the unfair and inflated bill to warn other homeowners so they don't get ripped off like I was. P.S. Still wishing I had the time or energy to fight this in small claims court since I took detailed notes when he quoted me and he remembered much of it the one time he called to talk about the final bill.

I am a victim of the Woolsey fires in Calabasas. John **, general manager, was disrespectful and would not account for his employees telling me incorrect information, instead told me that "my perception was incorrect." I asked him four times to speak with his boss, Alan **, he ignored my requests and instead of letting me speak with his supervisor, told me that he no longer wants to work on our property due to my dissatisfaction.

I believe the main reason he doesn't want to work with our home is because he is aware he exhibited rude behavior to a customer and does not want his boss to be aware of this. His employee told me initially that the work would be done in 1 week, then after I select his company and do a walkthrough, he says they don't clean attics and they won't do the exterior of my home for 6-8 weeks, and that if I don't return the air scrubbers on the day that he wants them back that he will put a LIEN ON MY HOME even though his boss and his employee told me they would be returned when our home was clean.

I never leave bad reviews for a company, but I felt that John ** gave me no other choice as he would not let me speak with his supervisor and just dropped me as a client and wasted my time. I would never recommend this company to anyone and he took advantage of the fact that we are displaced and felt any question that I asked him was a personal assault. He responded belligerently to this question, "Do you think it makes sense to clean the attic first before the inside of the home?" This only leads me to believe that he wanted me to pay for cleaning that he knows will be disrupted just so that his company can pocket the $10,000 that my insurance company was willing to pay out.

He had a dumpster delivered immediately on the first day, stayed in constant contact with me, and had a crew of 5 set up to help me move damaged items into the dumpster, and catalog each item along the way.

Additionally, he worked directly with my insurance adjuster to find out what was and was not covered so to maximize what ServPro could do to help me through this process. ServPro was recommended to me by my insurance agent. I wish I had done my homework before hiring them. The first salesman was nice enough, did some measuring and gave me a quote. His boss came several days later and re-quoted the job many thousands higher. Some of the items in his quote were not going to be done and I did the math to take them out of the quote. They started the job with 2 guys who were not knowledgeable in taking up flooring. I had been removing flooring while I waited for them to start. They asked me to show them how I was doing the job.

By 3:30 the first day they were exhausted and left for the day. Upon them leaving I discovered they had cut the electrical code to my DirecTV. The next day (after I got a neighbor to repair the TV), 2 guys came, hard workers and again I worked alongside of them. This is when I fully understood that ServPro Over promises and Under delivers. The next day one guy showed up. At the end of this day my iPod was missing. I had only gotten it out because of the TV going out the first day. The manager then haphazardly sprayed the antimicrobial-the big part of the job.

Next day they called me excited that the job was done. IT WAS NOT! The fourth day they sent in some young kids who were clueless and worthless. I did more work than the 5 of them put together. Plus they poured numerous chemicals onto the floor instead of my suggestion to put it in a small 2' by 2' section to see if it worked. At the end of the day the project manager then told me this was too hard a job. They left. I believe they inflate their costs so the deposit pays for the job as no one would ever give them additional money.

I have broken window sills, cracked door jams and glue still on my floors. I also feel like I was totally scammed by them. I asked for a partial refund but of course they had already left town to find new potential victims. They do not have professional staff but hire anyone. Many things were broken and no compensation. I now have to pay a new company to complete this job. A professional flooring owner told me I would have to wait at least 3 days while the chemical dried out. They "sell" a professional service but deliver something else. I feel ripped off! At least I was there except for a few hours or this could have been so much worse.

It was pouring raining out of the light sockets out of the light fixtures in the ceiling so I called my insurance company and they sent out ServPro and the owner came out for the emergency part which was fine. He dried us out. After that it was a nightmare. They unplugged my computer without asking never plugged it back in. They had a lot commercial equipment and they had it plugged it in all over the house but one spot. They kept popping the circuit breaker but they kept plugging it in there. They could have started a fire because we weren't home all the time because they have a key to get in. Thank God there wasn't.

They took out some of the trim downstairs and threw it in the garage with the nails facing up. My dog stepped on one of the nails. We gave them a key for house. I've asked and asked called and finally the owner called me and told me he was going to mail us the invoice and in the invoice envelope was going to be the key for our house. Today the invoice came but no key so I called them right away and the owner answered and was very unprofessional. He kinda sounded like it was a joke to him and laughed, "Are you sure it's not in the envelope." I said our key is very big and, "No it's not in there." He said, "I put it in the envelope myself. Maybe it's in the van in between the seats," and I said, "You need to find that asap. That's my house key."

He said, "Let me go check the van and the desk," and he would call me back. Well that was 3 hours ish. And we haven't heard anything so they have my key to my home still. I will never do business with them again and I let my insurance company know how unhappy we are too with them. I'm glad we decided to go with another company for the construction phase. Their bill represents an estimate so they will state after the fact that they can add charges on at any time. 4. They reported to me that the ceiling was affected when it was a sewer line backup so I am thinking their spray equipment caused the ceiling possible contamination yet there was a dryer very close to the sewer line backup that they did not clean. When you ask them for specific questions - they delay getting back to you and then threaten to add extra costs to the bill. My advice would be to get several estimates and possibly do it yourself because it is way too high. I was very unhappy with this experience.

Please be advised that we have a complaint regarding your local franchise owner in Traverse City, Michigan. On August 29, 2018 (Wednesday), while in Florida for a short visit, we were informed by our neighbors that water was coming into our finished basement subsequent to heavy rainfall. Contact was made with Keith ** on the 29th to initiate restoration. Mr. ** indicated that the process would begin Thursday around 8:30 AM. At this point, we made arrangements to fly home on Thursday. Our neighbors allowed entry into our dwelling. Thursday morning, I was contacted by an onsite Servpro employee, who stated that water was confined to the laundry room.

A short time later another call was received by me, indicating that most of the floor needed to be taken up, including the laundry room. I informed said employee that the flooring was waterproof cork - backed vinyl. It is a floating floor, not glued or nailed, with a snap and lock design and comes apart extremely easily. Employee argued with me that the “brown stuff” on the back of the vinyl was particle board and was not waterproof, but even if it was cork, the foam in between that and the vinyl was not waterproof and the flooring was ruined. Again, I informed him that the flooring was waterproof. Arguing back, he insisted it was not waterproof (such poor customer relations) and it does not come apart easily. The employee was asked to use care in removing the flooring.

Upon returning home the evening of the 30th (Thursday) and viewing the basement, piles of dripping wet broken flooring were amidst the drying equipment. The majority of the pieces of flooring had broken locking tabs, with said tabs scattered about the basement. Many flooring pieces exhibited bent and/or broken corners from throwing or tossing same onto piles, rendering them unusable. If we had been home when they were doing this, we would have asked them to leave immediately.

Friday and Saturday we set out to separate the piles of wet flooring and allow the few undamaged pieces to dry for re-installment. Stacks of usable and unusable flooring were established, with the usable pile being dwarfed the unusable pile. At this point, we were in absolute and complete dismay. Sunday morning I called the service person insisting that the equipment be removed. Said employees arrived around 5:00 PM and removed all of the equipment. I expressed my concerned about all of the flooring their employees has broken, as the service person told me that the floor does not come apart as easily as I stated and once again it is not waterproof (again, his attitude was he’s right, we’re wrong).

Monday morning we proceeded to the basement to map out our next challenge. Upon doing so, we noticed that our dehumidifier located on the northeast corner of the basement, which drains into that sump pump, had been moved three feet from where it normally is situated with the drain hose pulled out of the sump and draining onto and under the 200 square feet of flooring we had re-installed. Yet more damage. We had to remove the re-installed flooring and dry that because of the carelessness of these Servpro employees. Over the next two weeks, we had to purchase over 1100 square feet of new flooring and re-install it along with the usable/salvaged flooring. We also had to carry all of the 1400 pounds of damaged flooring upstairs, load it into a truck and take it to the recycling center.

Wednesday, September 5, 2018, I received an email from Servpro for services totaling $4506.04 (four thousand five hundred four dollars and four cents). Because our homeowner insurance will not cover this loss, I called the Traverse City Servpro to discuss the invoice and talked to Jessica **, co-owner. I expressed my concern over the shoddy work and flooring damaged by their employees. She indicated that she would review the situation and return my call.

Later that day, Keith ** returned my call and was extremely rude. Mr. ** was informed that we spent over $8000.00 to repair Servpro’s damage, replacing and installing over 1100 square feet of new flooring and trim.

Mr. ** was rude and insistent that he was right and we were wrong (much like the employees who were at our house) with respect to the waterproof issue of the flooring. I asked him to call US Floors and verify the fact that the flooring is waterproof. Mr. ** stated that he was going to do no such thing and that I should “go for it”. Offering Mr. ** that we would forgive our bill for damages if he would forgive his bill, Mr. ** emphatically stated that it was not going to happen. Included in the itemized bill was a charge of $186.34 for moving a cabinet. Absurd! My wife and I moved this cabinet several times and it only took a few minutes with minimal effort.

The poor attitude of both the franchise owner and his employees greatly concerns us. Training for said individuals presents itself as “we are right and you, the customer, are wrong”. Over three hundred people reacted or replied to our local Facebook post and are awaiting a Servpro outcome to this situation. We are always happy to share experiences of good service with others. For Servpro, we shared our experience of poor service. Is this the kind of word of mouth advertising you want? “Like it never happened”. What an absolute joke! They made a bad situation even worse. We are only looking to recover our losses from the damage your company employees did to our home. Make this Servpro bill go away! Should you have any comments or questions regarding the aforementioned matter, please feel free to contact me.

ServPro has been my worst nightmare. After a safety release tank ruptured and released 3,000 gallons of water into my basement, I called my insurance company. Disasters have brokers handling the mitigation companies. I was suppose to get another company, but Servpro showed up in my yard one hour after I called the insurance company. I was falsely told the insurance company sent them. Servpro’s actions were unprofessional, several items disappeared during their work, Servpro pulled off the job without notice after I confronted them after a missing iPod, thus leaving a disaster in my flooded basement that resulted in many times the original damage until a second mitigation company could be brought in.

Yes – the result was black mold, and then they claimed there was 1 percent asbestos requiring full mitigation and tear out of nine rooms in my basement. I found the workmen wandering my house, a sealed magazine (Playboy) of my father’s was found in a bathroom, dishes and other items improperly packed and broken. After writing a poor review on Google, Servpro responded falsely claiming that I was at fault, that I was confrontational, and that they handled things carefully.

I believe that ServPro is falsely claiming this negative behavior to smear my complaints, and to justify their pulling out of the job without notice and without even filing proper paperwork. This so called negative ”confrontational” behavior is emphasized throughout their response to make me falsely appear a so-called troublemaker. The original company contracted by the insurance company has come in and is now repairing the disaster created by Servpro.

I called ServPro and scheduled an appointment with the project manager to come and give us an estimate. I was not available the day he came. My father did the walkthrough and they agreed on a price for the work to be done. They showed up and the workers asked me what needed to be done. How do you show up to a job without a worksheet detailing what you are supposed to do. They were pleasant nice people but were very arbitrary on what they wanted to clean and in about 4 hours they cut out some sheetrock. They wiped some things down and not others.

They left their equipment and 4 days later a different set of employees came to pick them up and noticed that the rooms were only half wiped down. I explained what happened and when he called the project manager to explain I was told, "Well we aren't a maid service so it's ok that cobwebs and dirt were left behind." How do you sweep and mop a floor if there is still dirt on it? How do you wipe down lamps and fixtures if there is still dirt on it? Would never recommend this company to anyone. Cabinets over stove, stove, tile backsplash, and some painting was all that needed doing. FOUR MONTHS LATER we were still waiting for one elusive cabinet that we were told REPEATEDLY by the job manager got delivered to the wrong house by Lowe's. Ok.

Our insurance provides us with loss of income while renovations are ongoing. We filed for August's income and were denied by State Farm. The reason? The same job manager who told us repeatedly that they were waiting on the missing cabinet lied to our insurance company to cover his ** and said we were the ones who put a hold on the work so we could clean the floors. Yes, that makes perfect sense, stop the work to get the floors in pristine condition just so we could have these idiots walk all over them afterwards. Beyond stupid. Unscrupulous, crooked bunch.

ServPro is the 'preferred' Residential and Commercial Restoration Services company used by Allstate Insurance company. My house had considerable smoke damage from a fireplace fire and ServPro was hired by Allstate to remove fire and smoke damaged items from the house; basically to prepare the house for the contractors to come in and restore my home to a livable condition. However, be aware that ServPro does NOT hire restoration professionals but places your valuables in the hands of street people.

While it's a nice idea to hire common laborers, it's not a good thing to have UN-trained strangers handle your precious valuables. These people broke many of my valuables which I'd carefully set aside, and asked them to NOT touch such as vintage glassware, home made gifts, and antiques which I'd specifically pointed out were very important and in the end they actually broke more of my belongings by carelessness, and then blamed the breakage on smoke damage! They also set up what they called a 'safe room' where cleaned objects were stored and then later, not realizing I was taking inventory, removed those very objects from the safe room, telling me that I must be mistaken, that maybe they were thrown out because of the fire! They then packed what was left and not yet in the safe room, breaking and damaging my everyday household items and bric-a-brac by literally throwing them in boxes and throwing the boxes together.

They removed oak flooring and in the process tore up the sub-flooring so the contractors were left with the job of patching large holes in the sub-floor before replacing the oak. Several times during this 'clean-up' process the ServPro workers left for days at a time, their manager telling me that they had a 'more important' contract to tend to with a local school building! When all was said and done I'd lost more to the thieving ServPro workers than to the fire! They had their eye on taking whatever they liked and behaved in a very sloppy and UN-professional manner. They damaged or stole many of my loved belongings, and complaining to Allstate did nothing to resolve the issue; I was told to complain directly to the ServPro manager in charge who'd already 'covered' for his workers! Integrity is not part of the ServPro work ethic.

We were away from the house when this happened and 8 inches of water were in the basement. After six weeks there was still standing water. They had used a garden size hose to remove the water. They had dehumidifiers emptying into a trash can overflowing because they were there so seldom.

Because of mold and water damage I lost much of the contents. They did not itemize what they trashed except for a book count. (I had personally requested). They maintained that my insurance agent told them they didn’t need to do so. (He hadn’t). They missed days at a time, lied about what was done, and listed equipment never used, We fired them. Had a sewer backup in our basement. Caught it fairly quickly and the contaminated area was limited. When called back by the ServPro representative, I was asked how big the area that needed to be cleaned was and I estimated, "no more than 300 sq feet". In fact, I really did not know what the area measured, but it was quite limited and the amount of water that needed to be removed was very small. Mostly, I wanted the area sanitized. It was of course a weekend. I was quoted $1000.00. I was astonished. The representative said that it is so expensive because it costs hundreds of dollars in gas, to just drive out to our house. What BS.

I asked what the charge would be if they waited until Monday and was told $850. I asked if someone could come out to give an estimate, based on the actual need and was told that was not possible. I asked if they got to the house and the job was smaller than I described, would the price drop and was told "no, the price was firm". So, based on my very rough estimate of area (I am a nurse, not a contractor), the price was fixed and if I was incorrect on my estimate, no adjustment would be made. Period! We have had our total 900 sq foot house painted for slightly more than that. What a ripoff ServPro is!!! In the meantime, we called ServiceMaster of Apple Valley, who charged $350 for the weekend, $85 for an hour's worth of work and a little more for the humidifier and fans. They came quickly and cheerfully. Hopefully, this is our last sewer backup, but if it isn't, you can be sure we will not call ServPro.

My sewer line backed up into a drain in my basement, causing about two-thirds of the area to be wet with sewer water and some toilet paper. I got that problem fixed, cleaned up the water and called Servpro to do the sanitizing. The gentleman who answered the phone told me they'd be there the next morning between 8 and 9 am.

No one showed up but I received a call shortly after 9. He'd neglected to get my address during the initial phone call so I provided it and he said the techs were on their way and would be there in about 20 minutes. I asked him at that time if I would be provided an estimate prior to any work being done and he said "Absolutely."

Almost an hour later I received a call from the tech letting me know they'd be there in 15 minutes, and they did finally show up about 10:15. I showed him the area and said I only wanted the sanitizing done because we'd already cleaned up the water. About 10 minutes later he came and told me it would be $900! I said no, for that kind of money I'll go out and buy a steam mop and do it myself. He said, "Well that's all we're going to do." (Mind you, this is a townhouse so the basement area is not that large at all. It's a tile floor and there was no furniture in it, nothing even had to be moved!)

He then told me he could drop it down to $800 and I still said no. He asked how much I'd be willing to pay and I told him $500 was about my limit. His eyes lit up and he said he could do it himself for $500 but it would have to be later that day, after he got off work. I just looked at him and said "Uh, no." He then told me I'd probably get a call from his boss about paying the trip charge. I replied that he never mentioned anything about a trip charge (unlike the plumber the previous day who made it clear, up front, that no matter what else there'd be a $45 trip charge) in either conversation.

He left, but came back to my door a few moments later saying his boss had told him to collect the $50 trip charge. I told him again that I was not paying the trip charge, I was never told about a trip charge nor had I ever agreed to a trip charge. I got a call from the office a little while later but when I answered there was no one on the other end.

It seems from their website they do mostly large jobs and work directly with the insurance company. Maybe because of that they are accustomed to charging exorbitant fees. Maybe those that have a huge mess on their hands don't feel like they have a choice in whether to use the services or not. I don't know what to make of the experience except that I was pretty shocked (a) at the price and (b) at the tech's offer to do it himself after hours at a reduced price. Not to mention the audacity of charging a trip fee never previously mentioned and after showing up 1-2.5 hours after they said they would.

They are going to just be playing games on their phones." I’m thinking damn now my garage is open and I can’t watch everyone myself.

Now I help them carry in stuff because the young boy is no taller than 4’10” and we were carrying in heavy stuff. Then he says, "Thanks man. Nobody here ever offers to help me I." That’s when I tell him, "Well I’m from Hawaii" and we strike up a great conversation. From there on it felt almost as if we were friends. I tell him If they need me I will be upstairs. He says, "Okay we’re good for now thanks." I feel really comfortable I had a little share about where I was from and he asked questions and seemed very engaged. So I’m upstairs now. Lots of noise going on. Tack strips getting nailed into concrete. At this point I’m in such deep concentration with my work. I forgot about them immediately I realize I don’t hear anyone. I walk downstairs and look around. All his tools are there but no one. Then I hear something in the garage. The two kids are in the corner of my garage the ** female is sitting.

The ** boy is standing looking at my stuff. I say, "Hey what’s going on? Where’s the adults?" "Oh they had to run to the store." Ok weird and she’s smoking a cigarette in my garage. So I get the boy a chair. He sits. I grab a couple of my tools, my two smoke vapes and accessories that were laying out charging. I just kept thinking to myself who leaves underage children at a House they are supposed to be working on. I almost called the manager of ServPro and said something but of course I was thinking with my heart not my brain. They looked like they were really poor and worked hard to support the children and I didn’t want to be taking any food off their table by telling on them. So I held back my concerns and just tried to keep an eye on them without making them feel uncomfortable.

So I walk back and forth pretending to be doing things but really watching. That makes them uncomfortable enough so they both walk into the house and go into my room where the dad's supposed to be working. It takes both adults 45 minutes to get back from the store. He walks in like no big deal and gets right back to work. I want to say something so bad but don’t. I keep quiet occasionally popping in on all three of them. At one point the ** male had answered his cellphone and was clearly having a heated conversation. At that same moment I turn back and notice the ** boy looking back at me as if he did something wrong. So I immediately follow him outside look around the back of their van. I think, "Man I’m paranoid". That’s terrible. As I’m walking back in to the house I noticed the ** male near our dressers. Way far away from his work area.

The reason I move everything myself I don’t want anyone in my house longer than they should be. And they have no chance to steal things without you knowing. I just finished telling myself, "You’re paranoid. Stop it." So I go upstairs, talk with my fiancé about what to do for dinner and by the time I knew it they cleaned up. Swept and Vacuumed everything. It looked so good I was so stoked on getting my room back. We look over the job. I thank him and everyone that helped out. I wanted to tip them but couldn’t because I had the Work car not my Jeep. I felt so bad I really wanted to tip them like I did a few other Servpro employees. So we all leave at the same time. Getting in the vehicle I see his broom and vacuum. "Hey man you forgot this". He runs in the garage and says, "Good helps hard to find these days." He then tells me, "Oh I have your keys to the condo. I need to hide them under the front mat."

6:30 pm. We both leave at the same time. My fiancé and I get home around 9:00pm. I’m so excited to rearrange our bedroom. Can’t wait to not have to climb those stairs. We can’t decide how to set up our room with the same old stuff. Then I get her to help me carry an old dresser from garage in. As we bend down to get ahold of it. Immediately I see a brand new torque wrench that I bought for doing head gasket jobs missing from its spot on my workbench. You can see the dust around where it just recently sat in the case. I stop and look at my table. Everything has a spot that it belongs. Old iPhone 7plus box with damaged phone was opened and set aside. All of my power tools that I keep boxes for when I have to warranty them were opened. My Matco tools.

I then call SERVPRO 865-690-9658 dispatch @ 9:49 pm. Woman keeps interrupting me before I can speak. Finally she says someone will contact me. At 10:16 pm Shawn from Servpro calls, asks some details and recommends police report in the morning. Then says he will be there tomorrow. So @ 8:14am I get a call from 865-690-9658. He claims to be the guy that will prosecute the person who stole from us. They end up being the two Managers from this area. So he starts to ask me questions and tries to give the cop staredown. His last Name is **. This guy really pours it on. He was just short not really sincere and wouldn’t look at you unless he felt like he had to mad dog you. Unbelievable and they have no time to answer any questions you have. They half answer as they turn their backs on you.

Now the other Manager he was a little friendlier. Anyhow ** tells me I can’t do anything about it unless I have actual video cameras to prove it. It was a couple hundred bucks and I told him, "You know what. I’m not calling the cops. Never have. Won’t start now. Just give me the guy's address." You should’ve seen his face. He was so pissed. I figured what a headache for couple hundred bucks. The subcontractors boss heard me talking to them this morning. He called his guy right away and asked about my tools. He said that he would look to see if his helpers accidentally picked up my tools. Then said he would call us back right around lunch. His boss comes in. He had brought all of my tools back for me and said his guy said he’d look for my tools and immediately said, "Nope nothing here." It was too fast of an answer so I got you these.

Now we’re all having a great time. I give his boss a 350.00 gift certificate from my business. To show my appreciation for just the thought that was just amazing to me. Now we start going through our things and unpacking dresser and desk. We are missing all of my fiancé’s jewelry. Before this subcontractor got here we packed everything into the 6 drawer dresser. We had everything labeled. Everything valuable was there and something I cannot ever replace. My two NI’IHAU SHELL LEIS. The person who has these you have no use. Please return them. They have been passed down for generations throughout the Hawaiian islands. And my fiancé’s ring has our names engraved on the inside of them. Please help if you see our NI’IHAU SHELL LEIS OR RING MAHALO.

My home was damaged by a Huge tree in September 2017 by Hurricane Harvey. State Farm suggested I call ServPro to dry the house out so no more water damage would be done and they would bill State Farm directed. That they did for $21,758.21. They didn't go over any details of price with me. Just had me sign the iPad. After 30 days of drying out the house with their equipment that was already dried due to the warm weather in Georgia. I had a contractor that was given me an estimate and he inform me he had been by the house and ServPro would be outside sitting in their truck and the house was still in the same conduction it was in the last three days that he came by. He suggested that I call the manager and have them to pack up their equipment and end the contract with ServPro because they are just milking up the insurance funds and that they had only done about $7,00.00 worth of work.

The manager (**) came and told me that the ServPro had changed management and they didn't know who my insurance adjuster was and that's why they wasn't coming over doing any work. They called State Farm because they had not received payment and was advised to call me because I had received the payment for the damage and they needed to contact me for payment. ServPro had no attention on sending me a copy of the invoice. The invoice included man hours for 24 hours per day (30 days) that ServPro didn't do because they didn't show up every day as promised. I was told that one of the workers had a family emergency and they all was like family so they wouldn't be there. The invoice is not easy to read but I noticed they had charged me for working in the bathroom due to water damage.

The bathroom was the only room that didn't have damage and the only thing they did in the bathroom was run the hoses from the equipment into the bathtub to drain from the other rooms. I told them to look at the picture that they sent me on the invoice because they was dated with two different dates and there was no difference in the pictures. They removed the charges for the bathroom after reviewing the pictures. If you use ServPro my suggestion is to meet them at the house. Do not leave them a key to your house so you will know when they come and have them sign a login sheet with date, time, and what work they did each day. Check the hourly rate and how long it takes to complete the assignment. ServPro will never get any service from me again.

After making payment on the phone last week, yesterday, I got a very disturbing call from ServPro that I have a bill. Initially, she said that I had services done from Hurricane Harvey, which was wrong. It was not from hurricane Harvey. My pipes busted at home. Then she proceeded to tell me that I have an outstanding bill. Lady was somewhat accusatory and felt that I was lying when I told her that I had given my credit card info to another person. I gave the name of the person that took my payment on the phone. After verifying, she says that her computer did not catch the payment, as an excuse. Leaves a very bad taste on ServPro. There are other companies out there. Use them.

After my third email attempt, after he returned from being away requesting to have someone else assist me if he wouldn't, still no return call or email. His brother Greg was suppose to start on the reconstruction. He then stated it would be 3 weeks before they could start on the work. I contacted the Owner Cole, he said he would contact the next day and never did. In the middle of this process I had to find another company. ServPro also did some minor damage to my hardwood floors as a result. I came out of pocket for that damage. They left drink containers, etc. around my home and my house was in turmoil. Please be careful when dealing with ServPro. This company could not finish the work and I came out of pocket with some damage while they were in my home.

We had a big leak last October. ServPro from Orange County, NY came in. After the initial visit to access the situation, the crew they sent in were not only slow but packed things in a crazy manner. I mean CD's they used paper like crazy and my Longaberger and Fiestaware they had paper but not packed well. I just started unpacking and already found my Longaberger Extra Large Mixing Bowl Shattered, my Longaberger retired oval vegetable bowl shattered and my Fiestaware platter shattered.

I have not even opened the majority of boxes and I am just sick thinking about it. This stuff broke because they insisted on bringing it back their headquarters and then back to our house. They never even cleaned it as they said and we had to throw them off the job after 3 months for a variety of reasons. That is when they brought back over 170 boxes of stuff and none of it was washed, which was the reason they were taking it off-site. It is a big racket and I already have hundreds of dollars of broken items.

My experience with ServPro was absolutely terrible. I unfortunately had two different water damages in my home within 60 days. I was instructed by my home insurance to call ServPro at the time of the first claim. It was a weekend and I knew it would be pricey but we had just gotten home from vacation to a flooded basement. I will say the technicians in the field were courteous and did a great job. I then had a water pump burst on my washer machine approximately 60 days later. This time I did not call my insurance as it would not be covered. So I called ServPro and they came out independently on my behest. Again this was a weekend so prices tripled for equipment, but I wanted to be safe and not sorry.

Upon receiving the invoice for my independent call to them I paid it on the spot with Jessica the accounts manager over the phone totaling nearly $800. I was pleased with the experience. Then I started to get calls from the account manager about my insurance carrier. She asked for information I had provided several times but did not have a problem with providing a 4th and 5th time. I asked if there was a problem and she reported "No." Several months went by when I received a letter in the mail threatening me from a Recovery Solutions Group. Stating that I had an unpaid invoice of $2,000 for the insurance claim. I was in shock. I called Jessica and she ensured me she would contact the insurance company again, I told her that was her problem not mine.

I was instructed by the adjuster and over the phone representative to contact your company. I was not on the hook for this claim. She stated she understood my point and that she would "Talk to her boss, but what could I make for a payment if he needed me to." I stated I did not have any extra money as I am a mother of two who did not expect nor was I responsible for this bill. Fast forward to October 2nd 2017. Jessica left me a voicemail that my balance was paid in full and I received a record of payment from ServPro to a $0 balance. I thought this nightmare was over. I was wrong.

Today, October 18th I received a call from Recovery Solutions Group Antonia **. She stated that I needed to contact her regarding my remaining balance from ServPro Marlboro, Ma. I have put a call out to Jessica and am currently awaiting a return call. I will be contacting my attorney and the Better Business Bureau regarding this matter. I am disgusted with ServPro and I will not recommend them to ANYONE. It is stressful enough to have to go through losing your valuables in your home and coming up with so much money on the spot but to be negatively affected and lied to by this company is predatory. SERVPRO, you are the lowest of low.

I went on vacation and came home to an absolute nightmare. My hot water heater burst in the attic who knows when during my 2 weeks away. It was like stepping into one of the commercials you see on tv with your furniture floating by. You could not replace some of the items in my home. They were over a hundred years old. I had searched the world for some of those items. My heart was crushed. I sat in my car for a good twenty minutes just stunned at the amount of water that came gushing out the door when I opened it. I could not clean that up on a good day. I called my insurance agent and he told me that there were companies out there that could clean that up for me. I thought about the 1-800 Servpro commercials I always see. I knew what to do so I called the 800 number at 12 am at night and hoped the person that returned my call was not angry that I woke them up.

Melissa called me back in minutes. I told her what was going on, she was my port in the storm from beginning to end. She helped me through the entire year-long process it took to restore all my furnishings, content and my home 4,500 sq ft which had to be gutted due to sitting so long. Jamie put my mind at ease the moment she came into my home. They did not treat my stuff like just another job. They were all beyond respectful, they treated everything in my home as if it was their own heirlooms. Nothing throughout this whole process got lost or broken. I had rare books that you could never get another copy of soaked and they knew just who to call and what to do. My books were sent off to their corporate office and I was shocked at the condition they came back to me in. I never in a million years would have thought they could do such amazing restorative work to paper.

You really would have thought I was this company's only customer, I knew better. They always made me feel like their number one priority. Even their owner Joe who owns three franchises hours away from Lafayette would take the time to come by or give me a call to see how the structure of my home was coming and to see if I had any questions or if Servpro could help me in any way. They are my heroes. They took what I thought to be a hopeless situation and completely turned it around for me. Servpro of Lafayette truly made it feel like it never even happened. Not everything could be saved but they did everything in their power to save the things that meant the most to me.

Thank you to the owners Joe and Marietta Scott for running their business the way they do. Thanks for hiring such wonderfully knowledgeable people. I was shocked at Melissa, their manager's knowledge of antiques and Jamie you are the kindest person I have met in a long time. You were there from beginning to end always helping me through some really tough decisions. Melissa, Jamie, Marcus, Tayler, Michael, Kayla, Adam, Ahlea, Raven, Pat and of course Christina are one of the greatest teams of people I have ever had the pleasure to have work for me. God bless you all. Servpro of Lafayette is my Cleaning and Restoration company for life.

Watch out for lazy workers who charge you for doing their work! Called about mold and mildew damage from a burst water heater. They gave me an estimate for $2236.00. I had them come out and they did not do half the work. It took a month from the time I got estimate from SERVPRO for my insurance company to give me the go ahead on the repairs. During that time I removed all carpets and wet carpet pads as well as baseboards etc. They gave me a final bill that was not itemized nor had any of the line items showing what the did and how many hours etc.

They just charged me the original estimate without even correcting the repairs they did not do because I already did them. So, They just charged me to do their work and without any explanation of the charges. The techs only spent about 5 hours in two days of actual work and dropped off a blower and left it for 6 days with no notice of when they were to return to pick up unit. They even used my electricity and not a generator. 24 hours they ran for 6 days. I have asked for an itemized list of actual repairs done to prove they did anything. Do not let these guys fool you. They are lazy and only broke my stuff. They do not do anything they say but charge you for it anyways. Be aware.

I wish I had checked reviews before contacting this company. I had a sewer back up in my ground floor office and had ServPro recommended by a regular carpet cleaner (who said it was a restoration job not a cleaning job). I called and asked ServPro to come in and give me an estimate, which they did. My husband and I went over the estimate and had questions about what they had recommended. My husband is a licensed contractor and clearly has experience with wall removal, which is one of the things ServPro recommended. When we called to speak to the company to get clarification, and asked about their estimate and their recommendations, Shawn, the Project Manager, told us that "we were not a good fit" and that they would not work for us!

I run two businesses, my husband runs one. Why would a legitimate business refuse to answer questions? I can only be grateful that we did not have this company do any work for us - please see all their 1-star reviews. If they are so threatened by a client asking questions, what are they trying to hide? To be clear: this company did not do any actual work for us, so I cannot speak to their actual work, I can only speak to their reluctance to be honest and transparent in their dealings. I would not recommend them on the brief exposure I had to them. I also contacted the referring company to make sure that they heard about my experience.

They got the result back and said no mold but it has asbestos (3%), and it is very costly to do the asbestos removal about $20,000. They were coming for an emergency estimate and repair. The tenants moved out from two units and got a lawyer because of asbestos. I asked them to do point count and confirm it. They said they will not do it unless it is under 1%!!! (which under 1% would contain non asbestos or EPA). I called the lab myself and ask them to do the confirmation which it came back negative. The results came back under 1% and we did not have to do anything, no removal, or anything else. We suffered significant financial damage because of Servpro.

Make sure if you use this company you get everything promised in writing before the job begins. To get you to use them they will make promises and will not do what they said they were going to do and deny completing the job as per what was promised before hired to do the work. I used them only because they were assigned to me from Allstate insurance company. I was told if I used them for the repair I would not have to get involved and not have to touch a thing. I was told I could leave for a week and a half and my house would be repaired and when I came back I would not even know I had damage. Well this did not happen and when I questioned them I was basically told I was a liar and they never promised me or my wife of any such thing.

I was told look at the estimate to the insurance company and they were only doing what was in the estimate. The estimate is very hard to read and understand but they will use that to deny what was promised. Even though they only provided less than half of the labor hours they were paid for they refused to reassemble the furniture and unpack the boxes they packed before the repair was started. I came home and furniture was just put into the house and in pieces and then 58 packing boxes were stacked against the wall in 1 room. I had to get 4 people to help me get everything back the way it was before the repair was done. This took me 3 days to complete. All I am saying is if your insurance company sends them to you for a repair, get everything promised in detail in writing before they start. I was originally told the job should be completed in a week and a half and it was more like 5 weeks. I could not live in my house.

I was asked to pay an upfront of 28.00 to even open the package, thankfully he advised me against it. Not sure what was inside. I refused the box and sent it back. Mailman said they are in BIG trouble for this crime. The box was addressed from GUSHENGHE, with the address of ServPro. Very weird, but turning off credit cards just in case.

ServPro came into my condominium at the request of the management company when the sprinkler system was punctured by a contractor they hired. The damage started in the upstairs unit and quickly spread to my ground floor unit. ServPro evaluated the damage and advised that the damage was limited to the ceilings only. Even when questioned about the obvious water on the inside of the windows and wet stains on areas of the ceilings that were not treated, they refused to check for water damage.

They removed a one foot area across all the ceilings and pulled out the wet insulation they could reach. They left the drying machines for a few days and were gone. Four weeks later when the contractor started the repair process, it was discovered that the walls and remaining areas of the ceilings were all still saturated with water, wet installation and the start of mildew. Thanks ServPro for your incompetence, and adding to the delay of the repair work!

ServPro on behalf of their client (a property management company) decided to hook up and use my electricity to do their work. This was done without my permission. So, I unplugged their extension cord, removed it from my back yard, placed it in the carport, closed and latched my gate so they wouldn't be tempted again. Message sent right?!?! However the ServPro supervisor decided they could unlatch and enter my back yard again to route the extension cord across the front lawn, through the carport, through a window (they removed a screen) to access a plug in on my back deck... AGAIN! None of this would have been an issue if they had done one of two things. 1. Ask permission. 2. Use a generator.

Neither of those options were used until after calling the Police to report a "Theft of Service". To make matters more insidious... An Agent from the Property Management Company came out to cover 2 electrical outlets that were closer to the job site, in what I'm assuming is an attempt to make it appear that ServPro NEEDED to use my outlets further away. Fortunately, I have pics of that agent putting a new face plate over an existing outlet. I'm almost looking forward to any legal action if there's retaliation from this slum lord style property management company. But, that's another review for a later date...

We filed an insurance claim to pay for the mitigation and PODS. We were charged a total of $2800.00 just for the POD rental for 3 months. The insurance company only paid $700 total for the PODS leaving us with the bill.

We then got a letter from an attorney stating we needed to pay within 5 days or it would be reported to all creditors and placing a lien on our home. We never even got a warning from ServPro stating they would get an attorney involved. The claim was going back and forth between my insurance company, Travelers and ServPro for a couple of months. I have read reviews about this company doing underhanded strategies where they would overcharge the insurance company so they would not pay the total bill leaving the consumer stuck with the remaining amount.

This was 6:30 a.m. Water was spouting out of our hot water shut off valve (which we later learned was wrongly installed there) and we were walking around in thankfully clean water. Our basement is fully renovated in the last 5 years and carpeted. I immediately called ServPro and they were there at 9:00 a.m.

The people I met were not only friendly, but they also recommended us to use our home-owners insurance. They wanted no money upfront but they went about their business of trying to save my carpet. They also worked with our insurance company making this job much easier on us. Everyone I spoke to from the emergency team to the re-building team has just been so friendly, nice, and even patiently waited when I started asking questions even though I could tell they were hard worked that day. They always came in with a smile and even laughed at my dumb jokes as I tried to brighten their day. I will use this company any time needed as I know them to be professional, fast and competent. Owner contacted Insurance and ServPro was recommended. ServPro came cut drywall and remove it 24 inches from floor. In the process they broke every electric receptacle and covers. ServPro left islands of vinyl flooring in kitchen instead of removing. They pulled approximately 1 and a half sq. ft of vinyl in bath. Lied to owner and stated job was done and demanded $4500.00 for their shoddy work.

It was not worth the amount and I called them asking why it was not finished. The manager's reply was they pulled vinyl where moisture was reading under it but left patches cause it did not read moisture content. I called him a liar because we metered the vinyl patches and found 98 percent moisture under them. The bathroom floor read 99 percent. If I did business like these crooks I would not be in business long. He refused to compensate the elderly owner. So now it is time to let folks know about their piss poor work ethics and theft.

Upon reporting my claim to USAA, I was informed how to pay deductible upon completed job. ServPro contacted me, wanted my credit card to pay my deductible before work began. ServPro went ahead with installing humidifier with 0 deductible required. Another USAA Adjuster made appointment but was canceled by ServPro. Two ServPro men returned to install their humidifier and examined damage to my ceiling, instructing me to get HVAC repaired and asbestos test before they could commence repairs. Upon this advice I called a HVAC repairer. A second storm that week knocked out power in my house. Power company restored power but ServPro did not return to check on their machine when I called them. Three days later ServPro returned to pick up their humidifier stating they were canceling the job.

I was stuck having to get my own repairs done and my insurance advised me to pay off ServPro with a $1000 deductible. I was told initially the entire process would take 3-5 days, but thanks to ServPro it has taken 3 weeks and the water damage was more extensive since it never dried completely. My insurance adjuster told me that ServPro did not use this humidifier correctly as the room was not sealed so moisture from my shower was being measured. I still did not understand how the humidifier was supposed to dry the ceiling which it never did.

ServPro kept sending conflicting information keeping me confused about what they were supposed to be doing. The machine stayed in my home 10 days running 24/7 except for 4 days it was not on due to power outage. They just picked up their machine and walked out on the job leaving me to find someone to do the repairs. This was a waste of my time and money. I still cannot get an explanation for the purpose of ServPro.

Machines ran all weekend. Monday came no call from them. Finally got ahold of them and they showed up. The guy put his thing in the wall. Said it was dry. I asked about the carpet. They removed the equipment and he said, "Okay I just need a signature." I said, "You are supposed to clean the carpet and put the furniture back." He said, "I don't know anything about that." I then explained that "I was told that once the carpet was dried you would clean the carpet and put my furniture back." He said he would try to get ahold of Dennis. Well Dennis didn't answer. Then he finally got a text and I was told that I could put my furniture back and they would try to get me on the books for the cleaning. I said, "Wait. I was told this would be done today." The guy told me they don't have the carpet cleaning equipment with them. They ended up leaving. I called the company and they still haven't called me back. Don't do business with them.

We hired ServPro Stafford-Missouri City, Tx to dry out the walls, help with clean up, remove good contents, dry out contents, make repairs, return contents. ServPro did almost everything badly. The job was never finished and rather than work with us to finish the job, they filed a lien and a lawsuit. No effort was made by the owner to work things out - he just sued us. It has cost me a lot of money to have hired them. I really regret that. Since they did not do what they said they would do, my good stuff was damaged to a point it is useless - total loss for some valuable electronics.

Wow. I can't believe it. They charged for machines that were not used. They charged for man-hours that were not worked. They charged me for materials that I furnished, like boxes and tape. They charged for services that were not performed. I went to their warehouse to pick up some of my stuff because they were too busy to return it, and I saw my stuff mixed with other's stuff. My rugs were in several different places so they didn't know what was mine. I guess they forged the contract because we only signed one iPad screen, which we were told would allow them to enter our property. After the lawsuit was filed, I got a copy of a contract with several signatures. How does that happen?

Every time I see a truck that says, "ServPro, It's like it never even happened", I don't know whether to laugh or cry. I will never use this brand again, no matter what. I have submitted one of the invoices, which was the first invoice. The amount of this invoice ** is $ 6482.31. Funny, I guess the original invoice (same number) which is the only invoice we received up until a few days before they filed a lien, the amount was $ 2813.34. Amazing how these guys just make up numbers.

The first invoice was similar to the quote we received from another company. Other invoices included other services which were incomplete and unfortunately they did not do what they said they would do, which caused much more expense. For example, electronic were taken to their warehouse where they were going to dry them out. This would require a towel to dry them off and set up one dehumidifier for the whole group. they did not do that. In fact they kept them inside wet boxes for weeks, which caused rust and a total loss.

ServPro of East Lansing/Haslett, Michigan, was the remediation company I chose (out of the phone book ) to handle a water line break in my refrigerator. The local office is on Filley Street in Lansing. I would like to specifically comment about them and STRONGLY urge everyone... You should never consider them for any work at your house. They showed up to my home, declared there was moisture damage and that it needed to have the wood floor areas cordoned off by a plastic tent, including a major part of my basement. They also rolled in large and very noisy floor moisture "extractors". After that start, the machines were left on 24/7. More than once their machines blew my breakers. The leader showed me how to reset my breakers, I already knew how to do that, it was the blowing of them that was a concern.

It also appeared to me that the leader was, on more than two occasions that his workers weren't doing the job correctly. The job should not have taken more than 3 days, according to the Contractor I hired to do the repair work, and this was confirmed by my Insurance Company Adjustor. In the first couple days, the crew leader returned to my home after he and his two-man crew set up the plastic tent like structure, and often appeared to be less than satisfied with his crew's work. I was tolerating the over 100 decibel noise from the giant drying machines, but the household pets were scared, especially our cat.

The key problem was that the job began on a Tuesday. The belief was that it would be finished by EOB on Friday. It wasn't, which resulted in the equipment being there over a weekend, and not removed until Tuesday. The seven plus days of treatment resulted in over $3200 in charges. My insurance paid all but $500. But a bigger toll was that in less than a month our cat was dead. She died of FIP, Feline Infectious Peritonitis. This occurs almost exclusively among young cats (she was six), outdoor cats (she spent her life inside) and in multi cat homes (she was our only cat). BUT it can be brought on by extreme stress, the only reasonable explanation my Vet could think of.

The brief, and painful care of her at the Vet Clinic and her euthanization, cost me over $950. Therefore, at a minimum, my water damage incident cost me almost $1500. (Counting some other costs out of my pocket it was over $2000). My leak occurred on the day after Thanksgiving, 2016. Due primarily to the bumbling of ServPro on Filley Street, the full repair of my home wasn't done until after April 1, 2017.

In mid-December of 2016 one of my rental properties had a hot water heater break and flood the entire downstairs of the property. A plumbing company was called out immediately and replaced the water heater and stated that the entire unit was flooded. I called a company that I had seen commercials on TV for "ServPro". Two technicians showed up and sucked up the water with a regular shop vac and then placed several fans/blowers throughout the unit.

Drywall and molding and carpet, cabinets and wood floors were wet. I complained that mold would set in if it was not removed. ServPro stated that they would remove but never did. I was left with a mess on my hands and had to hire another company to come in to do the job correctly. The fans that ServPro were using were old and dirty and had a strange odor to them. The new company came out and removed the wood flooring, carpet and baseboards along with cutting the sheetrock that had been damaged and sprayed a micro-bacterial solution to avoid mold.

The ridiculous part was that the insurance company is giving me a hard time for they are insisting on only covering what Servepro took out. The ServPro employees were dingy and questionable whether they had ever been trained to do anything other than show up and plug fans in. The fans were left for several days with one day of monitoring and they charge $1800.00. I had to have another company come in to mitigate properly. This is ridiculous and because of ServPro I am having problems with my insurance company paying properly for the damage. They gave me a low ball bad estimate and when I requested a second opinion they send another adjuster from the same company. This will all be sent to the Texas insurance commission. It is wrong to pay for a good policy and to be treated in this manner.

The person that came out was VERY convincing and said they would clean out all the damaged drywall, flooring etc and set up fans, dehumidifiers and come back in a couple of days to monitor them. Well, three times we were set up to have them monitor the equipment (A LOT OF equipment for around 900 square feet), but we wouldn't receive a call, I would have to call to find out when they were to arrive. I would be told one thing then I would have to call again only to find out they weren't going to come out. Granted, we had some bad weather but their excuses were not just that but they were also very swamped with work and didn't have anyone to come.

Well, long story short, they submitted their invoice (which I asked them for several times to look at before they submitted for payment) to the insurance company. Our rep was out of town when submitted. They charged us for their equipment for 7 days and said that it was intentionally not monitored. They also damaged the foam insulation that is built into our foundation and cut drywall out too far so now it has to be replaced. They did not credit for this damage. They also charged for debris removal which my husband did and told us that the insurance company sometimes would pay for us to do that! So charge insurance twice for something they got paid for! Their bill came out to over $10,000.00 for a 900 square foot area. They lie and they overcharge insurance companies. The planning of my small job was very poor, zero communication of details that I didn't know what was going to take place, my whole experience with ServPro and the owner Dave was very aggravating and a nightmare. There wasn't any explanation on how the charge of my job will be done. No rate sheet was given to me. The owner Dave charged me for a lot of things that wasn't done on the job, when I called him to dispute the extra charges he was very rude and demanded that I pay the bill that he typed out or he threatened to put a lien on my house for any unpaid services. My end result of the job left me with a lot of half ass work performed. There wasn't any attention to detail of work performed but I was charged for numerous ridiculous amounts for poor quality work done. I want this place to be out of business for good so Dave the owner can't screw over anymore honest everyday hardworking people like myself.

ServPro has felt like making a deal with the devil. The lack of professionalism and disregard for customer service is appalling. After repeated requests for the quote I never got it. The mold in our rented home had already caused us to move to a hotel. ServPro Town and Country has pulled everything from resorting to lying. They said I did not ask for a quote then they took items. I asked them to leave as they are not affected by the mold. After disappearing my husband reached them on the phone finally and out it came... $13,964,04 just for moving our item plus $1753.65 in storage fees. If they were to do the mold cleaning of our items it would be $36,000.00 plus.

I was appalled and informed them we wanted to pick up our items immediately. Have set-up movers four different times and each time they find an excuse why the day or time does not work meanwhile charging storage. My family is sleeping on the floor. This has been the biggest scam and we're still without our furniture. Their posturing is as if they full in total control and we will suffer.
