I had a great experience with Rollup Awnings. I live in the area where one of their showrooms is located so we had seen them. When we decided to start shopping for an awning, we just went in there to check it out. The salespeople were great people to deal with and their product is great so we tried it out and everything's been perfect.

Had a very informative greeting from ** at our first meeting. He described and showed us everything we needed to know about the company and their products. We made our decision and placed our order... they followed up promptly with their measurements and installation of our beautiful awning. We are very pleased with our new awning and the functioning of it. Thanks to ** and his team.

I had a salesperson send me a quote. When I went to their showroom the owner said I needed a different awning. He's a blowhard but I listened to his ranting. When it came time for pricing the smaller awning he said I needed, the cost was more expensive than the larger one in my email quote. He ranted a bit more and said he wouldn't honor his salesperson's written email. Just purchased from another company. Good luck to anyone who walks into their showroom.

Purchase of 14' X 12' Awning - We were shown a quality product that was durable and well made. Factory & Repair Center are on the Premise. Salesperson was not pushy and really let us decide to purchase and did not talk us into it. Installers were professional and so was the recommended Electrician. We shopped other companies however they did not compare to Rollup Awnings.

I've had my Rollup Awnings for nine years. For the most part I've been happy with the way it works and with the installation on it. I had some repairs on it, a couple of which I wasn't exactly happy that it cost me money. I had a replacement of fabric after eight years and it was supposed to be a 10-year warranty on the fabric. And after 10 years, the stitching started opening up so it had to be re-sewn. They didn't want to cover it so I ended up getting another piece of fabric on that.

Purchasing our RollUp Retractable Awning was a great experience from start to finish; from the showroom to the salesperson who came to our home. He was knowledgeable, informative and helped us to make the right decision for the perfect awning for our home. The installers were precise, neat, clean, and on time. We would highly recommend this company and product to anyone who asks our opinion. Great quality and best of all it looks great!!

Rollup Awnings worked very nicely. Their people and the electrician that they recommended were very efficient and did a very good job. Everything is set and there are no problems at all.

I cold-called Rollup Awnings from an advertisement in the Clipper magazine. I saw it on the right day and was in the mood to get an awning. I had thought about it for a year and decided I was going to call them. They were very nice on the phone. Everything was great right after too. The installation team was very professional. The guy came to my home showed me all my choices at my price point, and he listened. I can't say enough nice things about the company. They did everything right and I think I got lucky because it's a superior product, but I didn't know that going into it.

I had another awning they used to put up every year and take down, and it sprung a leak. In ten years, it would have cost me more to put that thing up and take it down and it was cheaper to go with the Rollup. I have a motor unit that is manual and so far it is excellent. I have no complaints with the unit nor their team.

We chose Rollup Awnings because we liked what was on their showroom and the price. I'm satisfied with the product. In summer we use it everyday. That's why we bought it, our deck was just too hot without anything there.

We've known about Rollup Awnings for years. We wanted more shade on our patio that an umbrella could not give us and decided to purchase from them. We chose one of the fabrics and a different type of scallop and it's an electric. Now we use it every day. It goes out in the morning, we have breakfast underneath on our patio. It stays out all day in the summertime, and we roll it back up at night. We don't leave it out overnight.

The experience with Rollup was very good. I wasn't there when they installed it but everything went very good.

We purchased an awning because we have a big patio in the backyard and the sun's pretty heavy and we were gonna do away with the umbrellas. We got the top of the line with the remote and had two problems with it but Rollup Awnings came and fixed them. They were pretty good.

When my wife decided to get an awning, we chose Rollup Awnings because they were close by. We live in Holbrook and we're not too far from them. We had them install an electric motor and we're very pleased. In the warm weather, we've sat outside and it has prevented the sun. It's been wonderful and nice having it. The salesperson was terrific and the mechanics who put it up, I recently went back to them and had awnings put up over my doors. We were very happy.

We've been using it to block the sun. Everything was fine dealing with their team. Overall our experience with them was fine and easy.

Exceptionally pleased with both the quality of their products and customer service. I have used them through the years for both storm shutters and a retractable awning. The owner, Ray Sr., is focused on customer service and a pleasure to deal with. I truly recommend this company!

So far so good with the Rollup Awnings. I liked it more than the other - the way it was built and the quality. No complaints so I'm very happy. A tree had gone down in front of the house and it caused the different circumstance with our big window where we had a lot of sun coming through it. We needed the awning to eliminate it and we did. I use it every day. In the winter time, it's like the greenhouse which is great as it gives us heat. In the summer time, I put the awning out and it gives us a cooling off period in the house. From beginning to end, the service from the salesman up has been more than expected with today's type of service that you get. However, the cover was outrageously priced and it wasn't that hard to make a cover. So I went out, bought and made my own cover.

My backyard was like 200 degrees so I decided to purchase awnings from Rollup Awnings. They had good payment options and good quality materials so I went with them. I have the manual override and the self-cleaning awning. Everything they installed is perfect - they were great. I use it every time I need the awnings up. Every time I hang out, I open it. The salesman was a really nice guy and the installers were good guys as well. They did a good job installing it. The representative kept to his word. He said when they would call in, and how long it would take to make it happen. He gave me a date of install and stuck to that and told me the time of install. All along the way he told the truth. They're a legitimate company.

I first read about Rollup Awnings in a newspaper advertisement. It seemed like they had a good product. We've seen a video with the awning holding up into a windstorm so we purchased it. We lost the tree and we needed the awning for some shade protection. We bought the higher grade that Rollup Awnings offered that's an electric remote, not hand manual. We've had a little problem with sagging on one side but they came and made the adjustment. The team was very good. The product is a little pricey but it's supposed to be higher quality. We're pleased with the product.

The awning has very good quality. Even when it was windy, it didn't have a problem. It worked very well. I have it for the most part rolled out almost all the time. It's not rolled out now because we're not out in the yard but when sitting underneath where our table is at, it's nice because there's no umbrella pole in the center and also it's adjustable. So if my daughter wanted to sunbathe, I could retract it a little bit so the shade wouldn't be on it.

The awning purchased from Rollup Awnings is usually down most of the time when the sun is out because it comes over that way in the morning. The team was very professional and we had no problems with them. It's a very good company to deal with.

I have friends who had awning over their patio, but it's not Rollup. I liked it and I wanted it, but we went a different route - we went with Rollup. I didn't have customization done because I realized the things I would like to add too late. It's not what I thought it would have been. I'm happy with it, but I may have gone with something different. The team was fine. Gene was quite informative. The experience was great and I've referred the company to other friends.

We purchased from Rollup Awnings because we just moved into a new house. The awning is painted brown instead of the traditional white that they do, and has a wind sensor which is still not installed. Our experience was a little confusing - back and forth. Whoever was our salesman must have left in between our order. It got installed while he was still there but then he left and we had a problem with the wind sensor. They didn't bring it the first time and the guy originally said, “oh they're going to install it,” but we didn't end up using their electrician. Not that they would do a bad job, they were just going to put the wiring more on the outside and cable it in, whereas we got our own electrician to come and feed it a different way so the wires weren't showing.

Other companies that profess to have rollup awning don't look as good as theirs and don't function as well. The installation was extremely simple and they did it on probably the hottest day of the summer and there were no complaints. We purchased an awning because we couldn't sit on our deck in the summer. Now we got different kinds of fabric and we loved it. We basically never bring it in unless there's a storm coming. It has become almost like a second living room in summer. They were wonderful.

I had no difficulty with Rollup Awnings and I liked them. The only problem I had is that I got a coupon and it was $100 but the fellow wouldn't honor it because he said I placed the order but I hadn't received the merchandise. I felt that he should have honored the coupon because I didn't receive the merchandise and it wasn't in my home. So it left a bad taste because it was a big order and it was for a lot of money. And he would have been better if he gave me the $100 because then I would rave about it. So my recommendation to other people was I like the quality product and I think it's a cut above the others but...

We took out a tree from our property but then we needed a little shade so we got in touch with Rollup Awnings. Their rep was trying to sell what he had there and we felt all right with it because he has it in stock. This way it will get done right away. The only thing I didn't like was that it wasn't manual. We should be able to do this without electric. And he told me it was more money to do it manual. I said there's no way that should be more expensive. You just got to change a part in there. Doing something manual is not more expensive than doing something electric, but I just went along with it. I put it in and I think it's a good product so far.

We are so pleased with our awning. I haven't been so pleased with anything in a long time, not even my new car. It has been a pleasure to have dealt with Rollup Awnings. At first it took me a long time to decide if I will get them. Now I'd be so glad to recommend it to anyone. The people that came to install it, they were lovely. And we have had a lot of people, I would say at least 40 or 50 that has been here because this made almost our patio like a room and we have been so pleased with it. It's just a beautiful addition to the home. I knew already that I wanted the awning but I figured I'd let my daughter Vickie make all the decisions. I feel it was the best investment I've done in a long time besides putting a $20,000 roof on one side of the house.

We needed something to give us additional space in the backyard. We looked at several options and decided on Rollup Awnings. We got the more powerful motor and we're very, very happy. We get the sun in the backyard beating on our sliding glass door all morning and up to about 12:30 or 1 o'clock. We have central air conditioning and it made our downstairs at least 5 or more degrees hotter, warmer and you couldn't open the blinds up because the sun would just beat in. So this has made a tremendous difference. My husband sits out there in the morning and puts the awning down. He has his cup of coffee when he has a day off. It does very much add to our living space and we're very happy with it. They have excellent reputation, exceptional product and staff willing to work with.

Rollup Awnings was just right around the corner from my house. I moved in to this house about a year ago, and decided to purchase an awning. I told them what I wanted, they gave it to me, and I liked it. I love to sit out on the porch in the rain while reading. With the awning, I don’t have to go back inside, and that’s my number one purpose for it. Everything has been good, so far. The team at Rollup Awnings was fantastic. I’ve had no issue with them, except for the electrician who came a day late. I had a wedding to go to that day, so there was a little 12-hour issue. It would have been nicer if the awning was already there when I got back.

There was a Rollup Awning existing when I bought the home. I contacted them to replace the canvas material on it. But after our discussion, it turned out that it made more sense to replace the entire awning. From the original awning that was here versus the new awning that we ended up buying, we did get several upgrades. We have a western exposure so any time we use the patio and the atheneum, the awning is out to keep out the sunshine. I was very satisfied with the product, the salespeople and the installation people. It's a reliable company with a quality product.

My neighbor had used Rollup Awnings and I liked the way it looked. I picked out a color that would match the house and the patio and it was lovely. They were wonderful and we were very pleased with what we chose. I use it every day when the sun comes into my backyard, if I have company and if I'm here. Whenever I'm home and it's sunny out, I open it. The mechanics is just very superior compared to everything else that my husband and I saw.

Every time I've dealt with Rollup Awnings, it's been very, very good and very easy. They do the measurements, do their job and it's put in for you. I've never had a problem with them. I've only been dealing with them for about five or six years but everything that they've done for me, I've been very happy with.

I went to about four other companies to see what other people had and what their pricing was. Rollup had the best product and it also had the best price. I had an awning once before in my other house and we enjoyed using it. The new awning that we got is motorized and we had a choice of fabrics and different kinds of trimmings to go with it. One day we were sitting out in the back and one of the neighbors came by and commented on how nice it was.

I researched several companies selling awnings and selected Rollup Awnings. The product is very well made with top of the shelf materials. It is costly compared to other inferior awnings on the market, but you get what you pay for. My salesman Tony was very frank in describing the product and how it worked. He described in detail how it would be installed. I asked a lot of questions and was satisfied the product would work for me, including installation on my house. The installers showed up on time and did a very good job securing awning to the wall. The electrician showed up same day and did an excellent job as well. I do recommend this company because it is a local LI company who sells a great quality product.

The house I bought already had the awning installed and I needed a new one. Initially speaking with the front office people, there was one person that wasn’t very friendly or helpful. And then when the team came out, there were a few little glitches but then it was made right. I think maybe because the owners had changed in between, maybe that’s what made the difference. But it was put up, it looks good, it works. The salesman was very nice. The team was very nice.

We bought a condo and I needed some shade in the backyard and Rollup Awnings has the best product out there. We had it exceed the depth. We had scalloped ends, special roof mounts and it's a beautiful product. I use my awning every single day. We have barbecues and we entertain out there. We use it all the time. We get up in the morning, leave it out, and I take it in at night. The product is a 10 and dealing with them is a 1. They have one person over there that I refuse to speak to **, who I think is one of the owners. There's one guy named Judd who is absolutely cooperative and nice. He is the only person to deal with over there. And he hears it all the time from clients. They got the worst reputation for personality on Long Island when it comes to awnings, and it's not just me. But I think what a lot of people overlook is the product is the best. People don't want to deal with them.

I got hurricane shutters from Rollup Awnings. There was confusion between the father and the other son who worked here. Thank god, there was another son that came into the picture to put it together. I still didn't see these things working but it's okay. I'm staying with it at this time.

We designed the awning to be 20 foot by 10 foot and it's electric. And it was a 10-year fabric warranty. I'd recommend them.

My husband had been researching but he knew of Rollup Awnings because they were based on Long Island. He made an appointment for the guy to come and liked everything that the representative told us. We had one of those carport tents for many years and decided we should get something that was more permanent but that could also come back in. We got the standard one. We have the motor, we have not the crank one. The wind sensor is on it and we picked the fabric.

I purchase a rollup awning in May 2009. About a week after the install, I noticed that the awning was not level when extended. So I called, and a short time later two technicians arrived when I was not home and adjusted the awning. When I arrived home that night from work, I noticed that they never placed the lock washer on the bolt on one side of the unit.

I realized that Rollup Awnings had a bigger and higher quality product that's what we needed so we chose them over other companies. We chose the electric motor, our fabric and the color. Everything was custom. It was nice that they had a large selection of colors and fabric. The people were also very helpful, very efficient and very professional.

We bought our motorized awning last year & we love it! We recently needed an adjustment to the awning & they were fantastic! The two men who came out to do the job were very knowledgeable about the work. We would recommend this product, it is great!

I thought it was time for some home improvement, so I decided to purchase Roll-up Awnings. We chose a color that appealed to us and matched the house, and had an upgraded motor. We usually use it during afternoons for shade, and it feels good. It’s almost like a room has been added to the house.

Rollup Awnings put an awning on my house about 12 years ago and it has held up beautifully. I felt that I needed another awning in the space next to it. We were doing another sitting area and it just extended our deck. I had this planned for several years and finally got around to doing it. The newer awning has a wind sensor. If the wind is over a certain speed and there's vibration in the awning, it retracts automatically. I like that feature and the newer awnings have a crank. The older awning did not have a crank so in case you had a power failure, you're stuck with it out there because its motorized.

We like the product we got from Rollup Awnings. We use it a lot. The team was very good. They know what they're doing. There's only one thing I don't like and it's that when it rains, the water stays there so you got to close it.

We're extremely pleased with the product from Rollup Awnings. We needed an awning for the backyard and chose them for the quality and the customer service. We got to choose our fabric and had the remote control and everything works fine. We use it almost every day. They were outstanding.

Rollup Awnings was absolutely wonderful. I love the job and the awning and so far, so good. I didn't want something that snow would build up and this looks like the snow is not going to build up in it. And it does make my house cooler too. We got the electric button to open and close it. They were excellent.

We bought out Roll Up several years ago. Was never told how to care for it! The brush is falling out and called several times to have someone fix it. Was told I will get a call for cost and when guy will come. Neither happened. Called today and was told guy showed up - BS! Then told it will cost $216 to have him push brush back into unit. Are you kidding me!!!!!! So nice when we made purchase and so ** on consumer service. Would't recommend them if they were the last company around!

I have a deck in the backyard with a swimming pool and for years we’ve been talking about it, but I always thought it was too expensive. But then finally, I just decided let’s do it, and we did purchase an awning. I’ve seen the commercial for SunSetter about Rollup Awnings and somebody told me that there was a place right in Holbrook and I live in Holbrook that makes the manufacture and sales right in the same building. Also, I’m a police officer years ago. I’m retired now, but years ago, I drove past it so I had an idea where it was. So my wife and I said, “Lets’ go take a look.” So we drove to this place just to look. We had no intention of buying. And we were so impressed with the salesman with his knowledge and his attitude and no high pressure that we bought it right there on the spot.

Absolutely excellent. They were really, really professional and we like them a lot. Rollup Awnings has been around for over 30 years. My sister-in-law actually used them and they're from the area so we’ve kind of known about them. Their product allows for waterproof awning whereas those from other companies just block out the sunlight (we went with them because of that). We use it pretty much every day from 12 o'clock until about a little after dinner, all day long.

From the time we walked into the showroom in West Hempstead to the click of the remote, we were very pleased with our experience at Rollup Awnings. The salesman answered all our questions, explained the inner workings of the arms, the fabrics and colors. The time frame setup for measuring and installing were all done within two weeks. The installers were every respectful and polite. I would recommend this company to anyone who is looking for an awning.

Dealing with this company has been a nightmare! My advice to ANYONE looking for a Rollup Awning or stationary awning, do your due diligence and shop around. You will be amazed at the price difference with the same or better quality and most importantly better customer service. I would NEVER recommend this company to anyone. Money is too hard to come by than to spend it with a company that could really care less about you after they have it.

The arrogance is unbelievable. They talk to you like you're dirt. Their product isn't holding up. Their call volume is so high, for the spring 2014 they are charging to look at their poor equipment even under a year old (purchased 6/27/13, installed 7/17/13). They sold me on the weather vain (safe and sound tech which doesn't make me feel safe) and come to find out it is just a decoration on the outside of my house. The fat guy at the store told me on how the weather vain would open and close in high winds and during extreme heat and rain, it hasn't done anything but spin for ***$600.00 down from ***$1,200.00. I only recommend buying from them if you like a good fight. I wouldn't use this product. I would rather go to Costco. They have a much better return and product protection service.

My husband and I ordered a roll up awning and have had nothing but problems. Before the purchase, we put in a brand new roof. The installers had to come back b/c the awning was ready to fall off the roof. The lady that answers the service calls is rude. They tell you if you have an emergency to email them but takes 24 hours to get back to you. The awning is now ready to fall off again and they said it's b/c of my roof - which is brand new. They claim roofers don't use the right board under the shingles. They refuse to service it. Clearly the installers are not capable of installing correctly. And now my new roof is ruined. Not to mention I have an awning hanging off that could really hurt someone. They want more money to fix it and recommended I call a contractor. Not worth a penny! Biggest mistake ever. Not nice people - talk over you and think they know your problem and all they want is more money. Waste of money. Total aggravation.

Bought roll-up awning in July 2008. Just noticed a tear in the fabric along a seam line. Checked my warranty and guess what? Not covered. Had prior issue with motor under warranty. Awning would roll out and not in. Motor was previously replaced by a recall. Got charged a service fee which I didn't believe was warranted due to no fault of my own. Sorry that I recommended this company to a friend.

We hired Rollup to install their storm shutters. After work commenced, we decided to add electric motors instead of the manual cranks to operate the shutters. Since the job just started, it was the perfect time to tell them. They insisted on finishing the job without the motors, riveting in, and sealing up the enclosures, getting paid in full, and then signing a new contract for adding the motors, and having to rip apart the just completed job at additional cost to make the change. We went to court when I wouldn't pay them until the job was done the way we wanted it. Since there was no reason for their inflexibility, the judge agreed with us and made them finish the job prior to getting paid.

I was trying to get some service from them as my awning was malfunctioning and would not stay open. Everything I said was turned around as it being my fault as to void any possible warranty issue. I called and set up an appointment, which I was told would cost $194 charge just for evaluating the problem. It was set for after 3pm Friday, 7/27, and they came earlier when I was not home. They then said it was how my electrician wired it and would come back on Monday. When the lady Fran got on the phone, I asked her if she made the original appointment and if she remembered telling me they would come by after 3. Her snide remark back was, "Well, if I did, I don't remember." She then said, "Don't yell at me," and hung up the phone on me. When I called back, the guy got on and said, "Listen, you **. Don't you abuse the women here," and then kept telling me to shut the ** up about 10 times. They never showed up that Monday. I took the day off from work to see them. You don't want to do business with these unsophisticated, low class animals.

I paid a deposit of $1095. They were overdue on my installation date, and they could not provide me with a delivery window other than 12 to 5, despite their assurances when selling the awning that they would work with me. When I complained about this, a woman named Fran was extremely nasty and actually hung up the phone on me. Don't use them!

I was in my first full season with this awning, a beautiful summer day where a gust of wind came out of nowhere and pulled the awning away from the house on the right side. I called for a repair and spoke with a "mean as a snake" woman. She said it would be $125 to come look. I did agree. The men were here not five minutes and stated that a new 2 x 8 would have to be installed - price $1200. This is outrageous. I believe the awning was never attached correctly to begin with but how do you prove it unless you open the wall from inside. It is a beautiful looking awning but in reality is a piece of junk. This cost me $4000 and now they want $1200 to repair. What a shame!

I called Roll Awning to come down and repair my awning (I bought from them in 2003) which was collapsing. They took a look and then told me that they would have to take down the awning and remove the board that supports the awning. The price was $1,200! I understand there is a labor cost to take down the awning, but the materials for a new board can't be more than $20. This is a complete ripoff on the customer.

In 2008, I hired Rollup to supply and install a roll up awning. Approximately 2 weeks ago, my neighbor rolled out the awning, placed a pizza on the table, a gust of wind ripped the awning from the brackets. My neighbor barely made it out from under the awning before being harmed. I called Rollup and spoke to Irma. I explained that this was a serious situation in that someone almost got physically hurt due to no neglect on our part. Irma explained that there were no servicemen that she could send out, that I was to call her on Monday. I called on Monday and was told I would have to pay a $99 travel charge and $180 labor fee. I would like to know where she obtained the labor fee from without seeing the details.
