    This company has been overcharging our commercial account by thousands!! I've been calling and attempting to cancel for over a month. I've spoken to countless phone operators, sales reps and still nothing. They keep billing. They haven't picked up any trash in over 60 days! They keep billing. I've asked for a manager to call. No one calls. Then they lie and said they called. They don't realize that cell phones and business lines these days track all incoming calls. Today they said they had no records of all my calls to cancel! But then she said "is this in regards to your request to cancel the account?" What should have a been a quick solution with a long time customer has now turned into our company moving to cancel ALL our locations from using them. Today they said a manager would call me today. Still no call. I'm waiting management.

    Republic Services bought out our local trash and recycle service over a year ago. The service itself as well as the customer service immediately suffered as a result. The bills come sometimes...but the late charges are instant. If you try and call to address the issue, you hold for 45 minutes+. They just skip pick up at days due to staffing and let you know after you have hauled the containers to the end of the alley, as they no longer come down the alley. I have never been late with a payment and have perfect credit. I don't like auto pay as I like to keep record of all my bills. I set up auto payment for this company due to the mess of the billing and book-keeping. Then, they raised their rates... yet again... making my payment short. The whole company is unorganized and they don't really care. They are the only game in town.

    Very frustrating working with this company. Didn’t start out that way but over the last year, their service has become very poor while their fees have doubled. In 2019, started out paying $55 for my 1.5 yd bin with trash pick up every Friday and their pick up was consistent. Was very happy with them. Each month thereafter, they have raised the amount due by a few dollars and claimed it was due to the “fuel/environmental recovery fee”. Now, a year later, paying $120 a month and they only pick up twice a month. My contract has not changed -thought that’s why I had a contract- but they seem to do what they want obliviously breaking what the contract states.

    I gave a 30 day notice to end contract and my account rep stated that was all that is needed and they will pick up my bin 1st week of September. However, they picked it up 2 days ago and told me I will have to still pay September’s bill since they pre-bill, along with the $167 plus taxes and fees for “bin removal”. Why am I paying for a service I am not receiving? I would NOT recommend this company to anyone. Have called several times to talk to the supervisor or manager or whoever is in charge but he “is not available at the moment” and will have to call me back. It’s been 3 days and I am still waiting for him to return my call. I would NOT recommend this company to anyone.

    New to Birmingham. Love our location and neighborhood. Unfortunately the trash service has been a nightmare. Missed (or ignored) pickups and promised bins not delivered. Call was met with condescending attitude and no solutions. I’m renting a truck to personally haul our trash to dump. It’s surprising a city this size would farm out trash collection to a company that doesn’t value customer service. Disappointing.

    Was told to pay three months upfront to cancel service. I only had one week left of the current month. Rates doubled. When I said I was leaving they offered me half price. Very crooked practice. Out of the 175.00 I paid I received a credit back of $7.00. Said rest of the money was for waste bin removal. Never use this company, RUN.

    I live at an address where trash was paid for by city. I moved out almost 5 years ago but since the new tenants never transferred their name on account the company put it back into my name even though I closed it out years ago. Someone had a new trash can delivered or picked up or something and there was a fee. They keep calling me and emailing me telling me to pay bill. I call them multiple times and the 1st couple times I was told they'd correct it, the last couple times I called they said they could care less who incurred the bill. I was the last person they had on file and once I pay it they'll take my name off account. It's not my bill, such evil people to say, "Pay or else we don't care where the bill came from will harass you until you pay."

    If I ever live where they are the trash provider I will take my trash to the dump myself, I would never ever allow such evil people to get my money. They refuse to call land lord who could confirm I haven't lived there for years. What a disgusting way to run a company, to harass a sick old man who had to move in with son because of health reasons. They said just pay someone else's bill and will quit harassing you.

    UPDATED 8/29/2022: I sent them an email, no phone service until 730a Monday (missed pickup was Saturday), called at 736a today Monday -- still on hold at 1055a. But not only that -- they make you punch *2* on your phone once every 2 minutes to stay on hold or they will disconnect you. OMG!! Who does that!!! This is by far the worst customer service ever, worst that car salesman or cell phone companies. THEY DON'T EVER ANSWER THEIR PHONES!! What's the point of having a phone number at all if they don't answer -!!!

    ORIGINAL REVIEW: My trash can was out on Saturday, all my others picked up in my neighborhood, mine was not. They pick up trash on weekends but their customer service line is not, does not open until 730a Monday, I have been on hold since 736a. It is now 954a, and every 2 minutes I have to keep telling them I want to stay on hold!!! And their phone recording speaks of July 4th weekend, they have not updated it since then!! Do they EVER answer their phones?? Why was mine missed? How can I speak to human being? When will they be by again? I have worked in customer service for some major companies (I am 73 yrs old still working), and the by far is the worst customer service I have ever seen!!!! If I had a choice I would cancel them, but HOA picked them, I guess that's why they do care about the customers. Horrible!!!

    Republic Services is quite possibly the worst company I've had to ever deal with. The only person who can request anything or any changes to your account was my wife because she created the account initially, I was unable to do so and they would just hang up on me. Their cost went up almost double over the course of 2-3 years with little to no warning or heads up. When we tried to call, their customer service was so horrible that we would sit on the phone for hours in line on hold, until eventually, they would close for the day.

    We repeated this process well over 6 times. When we finally got ahold of them, they began listing these fees that we could not find that was ever sent to us. Eventually, that led to a credit on my account that after many attempts at getting ahold of them they informed me it would take up to 2 months for that credit to be mailed by check to me. Lo and behold, I will never utilize their services ever again. I would rather drive my trash to the dump than have to ever deal with them again. Be aware of everything before signing up with this company.

    I prepaid for 40 yard dumpster where all charges were supposed to be included. Paid $620. A few weeks later I received an invoice for another $219. I understand should the waste weigh more than 5 tons I'd be charged more. However the weight on the dumpster was slightly above 2 tons. I rent a dumpster probably once per month and I'm familiar with the whole process. I understand if their price is higher than other companies out there due to overhead, quality, or availability. But c'mon I paid initial price of about $150 more than other companies, which again I'm fine, but when they want to milk me another $219 this is when they turned me off. I paid instantly without any fuss but I'll definitely will not use them. Not only that but I'll get in touch with other GS's and will talk all of them out of ever using Republic Services when comes to dumpsters. Otherwise the personnel was professional and well mannered-I can't say anything bad about it.

    Republic Services waste container pick department lacks in in every department. Constant missed container pick ups and delayed return of empty containers. I call every week since they never pick up on Tuesday that's scheduled and only pick up after I have called on Wed only to get the same pre-written excuse that the pick up was rescheduled by them without notifying me and this is every week mind you. You can not not talk to a management rep from their company, all you will get is "we'll notify your account" sales rep and if you ask for a district/regional manager to discuss the problem their dispatch will tell you that they do not have those numbers. Do yourself and company a favor and pay the extra dollars and choose another company for your waste pick up unless you like dealing with ramped incompetence.

    They contacted me after my review and refunded the money, so I ended up paying nothing for the experience. I'm only going to move my review up one star though. I shouldn't have to talk to 10 representatives and then go complain about your company on a third party website to get good customer service.

    I got Republic Service when I moved into my new home. They dropped off the trash cans and charged me their normal starting fees. I then had to go out of town for the weekend, and their pickup day for me was Friday. I wheeled out my trash before I left. When I got back from my trip, the trash was still in my container. I thought, "Okay they need another week to get the service going properly." So I waited to try again the next Friday. I came back from work and they still had not picked up my trash. It had been two weeks of them not providing any service and the bins smelled awful.

    I called their number to make sure I was doing it right. When they looked at my account they let me know that there had been no reports that my trash couldn't be picked up (due to improper bagging or overfill). I knew that wasn't the case since everything was bagged correctly and the lids still closed. They even informed me that I was in the schedule, but the crew just hadn't come to get my trash. They rescheduled for Monday.

    Monday comes and I get home from work to find my trash still there. I call them again and even though it is very late in the day, they tell me to wait until 7 pm, when I can't call back again for that day. Tuesday comes and my trash is still sitting there. Two and a half weeks of them failing to pick up my trash once. So I call to cancel. I got the run around. I was forwarded to at least 3 different people. The 3rd person tried to explain that she was going to put in a ticket to correct this (which 2 other representatives had already told me they did). I canceled the service and confirmed with her that I wanted a refund, and I wasn't paying any bills for a service that they never provided.

    So far, everyone had simply made me wait until another day so that they didn't have to deal with my case themselves and I could get a new person the next time. The person who helped me with my cancelation was very helpful. She told me she had waived everything and returned my initial payment. I switched companies, and my trash was successfully picked up by my new company.

    But now I'm receiving a bill for the Republic Services fiasco. They sent me a bill for $190 for this and that. I called to complain and got the exact same runaround. I said that I should not be paying any bill at all. The representative told me that my bill was going to update that day and I needed to wait for that. The bill updated to be $89. They keep sending me notifications that this bill is passed due and that the charge is for dropping off the bins in the first place. They actually want me to pay for their failure to pick up my trash the entire time they were my waste collection. Like I should pay for the privilege to watch them play musical chairs with their trash bins. This is insanely wrong.

    They were incompetent. I had to talk to at least 10 different people because their customer service likes to avoid dealing with the problem. They didn't do anything correct and still want me to pay them because they successfully delivered the trash bins. Like the pleasure of how they looked in my driveway is what I'm paying for. Avoid them if you can.

    Irresponsible and unprofessional. Paid in advance for service and was promised a delivery date and they missed it. Went over the weekend and got runaround on Monday and was told the service would definitely be before end of day. Called 4 times and got the same shuffle. Do yourself a favor and use another company because these guys suck.

    Upon receiving my last invoice from republic services I called to cancel my service. I was told I was going to be charged a one time container collection fee of $30. I asked if I could return the can myself, to avoid the fee, and I was told that was not allowed. I said so it is pretty much a cancellation fee because you are not giving me any option to return the can myself (which I would have, for my new company I picked up the can myself to avoid the delivery fee). Upon receiving the invoice for the can collection fee, I see they charged me $30 for the can collection fee, but also $15+ in environmental and fuel fees along with a $1.65 late fee. When I called to cancel my service I was told there was a one time fee of $30 to collect the can and that would be my final payment. However when I received the invoice the bill increased 50%.

    When I called Republic they said all invoices are subject to fees and that I had been paying them for years. I agreed that I had been paying them for years but that when I callled to cancel my service I was quoted a $30 trash collection fee and was told that would it, no mention of additional fees. I was able to get the late fee dropped but they would not drop the additional fees. I even asked for the fees to be pro-rated since they are usually over 3 months of service and I received just one week of service (the day they collected the can) but was told that wasn't possible and that all fees are a variable percentage of the invoice. Since my fee was $30 to collect the can I was also subject to an 18% environmental fee and a 32% fuel fee.

    I told the Republic representative when I called to cancel my service I was quoted a flat fee of $30 and was told it doesn't matter what I was quoted and I had to pay the fee. So ultimately, I was charged $45 to cancel my service so Republic could collect the can when I was told self return wasn't allowed. So beware, Republic services are expensive and they charge you what is almost two months of service just to cancel their service in "fees". So make sure you add that into your budget. I will also mention though, the price had gotten so high that even with the $45 in "cancellation fees" along with my invoice from my new service company, I am still paying less than I would have paid Republic Services for their standard 3 months of service. Crazy stuff.

    The county took over our route so I closed my account on June 26 before the next quarter's billing cycle. Was told we had a zero balance…July 12 they take $130 from my account. This is illegal and wire fraud. They had no permission nor did I have auto pay turned in. Remember, my account had be closed and verified. Then I filed a complaint with my bank. They verified that Republic Services pulled the money, USAA did not send it automatically. As Republic Services was telling me it could take weeks to get my money back, USAA initiated an investigation and said if it is proven fraudulent then USAA would reimburse my account, just as if a credit card were stolen and used. On the same day 8 days later Republic Services and USAA put $130 in my account. USAA has said it is a permanent payment covered by my account's financial insurance. Republic Services is now saying since USAA paid me they want the $130 back.

    Imagine that, my bank pays me for money Republic Services stole and now they have the nerve to say that they should get the stolen money back. To the point they have billed me the $130 now and have threatened to send to collections. You paid me my money, money you stole, money you didn’t provide a service for! This company needs federally investigating. They are garbage. If you can go with another company do!

    I called almost 2 months ago to cancel services and asked them to pick up the container as I was moving and they didn't have services at my new address. They hadn't pick it up and wants to charge me almost 400 for services when I hadn't use the service! I had call several times to resolve this and they only say they would call back to cancel and never call! Do not get services from this thieves!

    I was switched to Republic Services from JRM Hauling recently. I have trash dumpster service every 2 weeks. I had a missed service 2 weeks ago and have been calling ever since to get a pickup as the dumpster is overflowing with trash now. I have called Republic Services every day since last Wednesday requesting service. Every day they tell me it will be tomorrow including talking to a supervisor today who promised a call back and a pickup today. It is now 7:30pm and no pickup. Of course the office closes at 5 so no way to speak with anyone. I will definitely be moving on to another vendor once this dumpster is emptied which I hope will be at least the regular service this Wednesday. The rodents are having a field day!

    As with most of the reviewers here, my experience with Republic Services has been among the worst of any company I’ve ever dealt with. I’m on the board of a medium sized condo, and we were automatically switched to Republic when they bought our previous refuse service, Groot back in 2017. Three years ago we ended up signing a contract with Republic in order, so we thought (and were told) to lock in rates. Only a couple of months into the contract our rates went up dramatically. We were provided with a “direct, personal line” to our account manager, but that ended up being a perpetually filled voicemail box that we were never able to leave a message in. Calls to customer service resulted in us being kept on hold for literally hours. And yes, I do know what literally means!

    After weeks of trying we finally got a hold of our account manager, who said sure, he’d reset the rates back to those specified in the contract. If that was so easy, why did they increase them? (no explanation was ever given for that). A few billing cycles later the rates shot up again. Same routine of trying for weeks to contact our account manager, after which he lowered the rates again. A few billing cycles later the rates went up again, dramatically. This constant game of cat and mouse has gone on for years. We are finally nearing the end of our contract, which we desperately want to get out of (our current rates are well over double those in our original agreement).

    When I recently contacted our current account manager to prevent the contract from renewing, I was first told that I would have had to have notified them by certified mail a month earlier to prevent the contract from automatically renewing, and then was told that I was a few days too late to prevent the renewal. She obviously didn’t know what the company policy was on this.

    Currently it looks like we’re locked into another three years of dealing with this company because we were FOUR DAYS LATE in preventing the renewal. As it happens, their automatic renewal policy is illegal under Illinois law (815 ILCS 601/) Automatic Contract Renewal Act; companies are required to notify you when a deadline for renewal is upcoming, and are supposed to make clear and easy the means for preventing the renewal. For new contractees, be aware of that. Or even better, never, EVER sign a contract with these people. The fine print of the contract allows them to raise their fees as much as they want for any or no reason, which they will do before the ink is dry, and it prevents you from having any recourse whatsoever. They are scoundrels and thieves.

    This is literally one of the worst customer experiences I have ever had. First and foremost, pricing for our trash service has increased by 300% since we signed a contract, with absolutely NO EXPLANATION why. Invoices are not transparent, I honestly don't even know what we're being charged for, and my attempts to talk to someone about increasing have gone unanswered. I have called several times, am told we'll get a phone call and then NOTHING. With our contract renewal coming up, I called around to other places to find that other companies will charge ONE-SEVENTH of what Republic is charging us for the exact same services. That is not a typo. I confirmed with 3 separate companies. Republic Services is bankrupting our small condo building.

    Last week when I called to cancel I was told "No problem, your service will end September 1." Then a few days later I received an email saying that we could NOT cancel because of our renewal coming up September 20 and it's less than 60 days before, so officially we would be in violation of our contract. The contract that isn't even renewed yet???? How is that legal? And of course, the person I need to talk to is on vacation for the next 2 weeks. HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO GET THIS RESOLVED?

    I have zero faith in them ever accepting and processing a certified letter with the official cancellation request, as previous communications and requests that actually required Republic to give up any type of money/refunds have gone unanswered and ignored. This does not even go into the regular missed pickups, promises of refunds never materializing, not picking up our trash for close to a month because of "snow," yet the alley is completely cleared, and not replacing broken containers. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH REPUBLIC SERVICES!

    Updated on 09/27/2022: I previously reviewed Republic Services as an unscrupulous company. My feelings still stand. I was given a credit for $64.45, which I thought was for container pickup. New invoice came in and I am charged $30.00 for trash cart, $30.00 for recycle cart, a $5.95 administrative fee and $30.36 for fuel/environmental recovery fee....And credit for $$64.46....Leaving a total of $96.31....$96.31!!!! Are you kidding me!? I hear there are already lawsuits against Republic for exorbitant prices. I see why!

    Original Review: Republic Services is one of the most dishonest companies that I have ever dealt with. If a wheel falls off a cart, they charge you to repair it...even though it broke when their truck slammed it to the ground. I just cancelled my service because the amount went up every billing period. I was told I would get one final bill when they pick up the carts...that would be to pay for them picking up the carts. Do not use this company. They are very unscrupulous.

    Worst customer service at the Republic Services Henderson NV. Cape Horne site. Arrived at the transfer station 1.5 hours before they closed. Waited in line for 1.25 hours only for them to turn the closed sign around and tell everyone in line to come back tomorrow. approx. 30+ cars/trucks. If they knew they couldn't service all the vehicles an hour before they closed wouldn't you think they would let people know then before some of them waited in line 1.25-1.5 hours?? I expressed my displeasure of how thing were being ran and they just said that's just how it is and I should have gotten there earlier. I don't know if the incompetence is at the worker level or management level but this needs to be fixed. How about putting out a sign stating not accepting any more vehicles today??     I've never filled out a review before, but this company is the absolute worst! I called 3 weeks ago to set up service, I'm told it's all set up and cans will be delivered next week on the regular scheduled day (Tuesday). I received a call the next Monday, I had a past balance on a previous account from 3+ years ago at a previous address. I pay that past balance and pay another $123 to start service at my new address which included first months and can delivery fee, etc. I'm told now that since it's Monday there is no way they can deliver my cans that week and I would receive them next Tuesday.

    This week Tuesday comes and no cans... I call them again and talked to a supervisor.. Apparently my account was never set up and somehow the agent last week reinstated service at my previous address that I haven't lived at in 3+ years... Now I'm told my $123 is sitting as a credit on that old account/address and in 3-4 weeks I can call for a refund... Apparently today they are setting up my new account at my new address and once again I'm told I'll get my cans next week... They refused to bring them any sooner... Let's see what happens next week... In the meantime it's 100 degrees and I have trash piled up for several weeks. Praying I get cans next week!!!!

    I've been using a smaller commercial dumpster for a large Airbnb house I have. I called today to cancel the service, as I am selling the house. They wouldn't let me cancel over the phone. Instead, they sent me an email stating that they require two months' written notice delivered by certified mail. So, this is their way of getting another two months' payment for a dumpster rental. This is reprehensible customer service.

    I tried to rent a dumpster from Republic, called their call center several times throughout the delivery day and was assured it would arrive. They told me, and I quote, "Our drivers work until 6, we don't guarantee delivery times", you could almost hear them shrug through the phone. Well, it never arrived, I'm being charged for a day I wasn't able to use, and more importantly I've lost a whole day of work because I had no dumpster. Avoid using Republic services at all costs, their customer service will just straight lie to you.

    In the last 4 years the company has gone downhill. Our dumpster is CONSTANTLY left unlocked and we were told that this would be resolved. It was not and they charged us $1200 over a 2 month period for their mistake. We cannot get a bill sent and they will constantly tell you (if they bother to return a call or answer the phone) that it is still your fault (somehow) and these charges will not be removed. They are a SCAM company. We have been with the company for over 19 years and these last 4 have been horrendous. DO NOT START service with them. They will overcharge and scam you every step of the way.     I was with Randy's. Republic bought them out. I got charged by Randy's 240$ and then a week later, Republic charged me 240$. That was in April. They continue to charge 240$ every 3 months, which is a ridiculous amount of money that I did not sign up for. They charge an 85$ fuel surcharge, AND 135$ to come get their bins when you cancel. I highly recommend that people that had Randy's double check their spring bills, it's very possible you got charged twice, and no one is taking responsibility for it.

    We are in a multi unit property with approximately 20 trash enclosures with compost, recycle, and garbage containers. When the drivers come and pull out the containers they do not put them back in the same order that they were in. Causing property management to pay to have someone come out and reorder them incurring additional costs. Additionally, when they are put back they do not always place them all the way in the enclosures and push the gates shut which causes damage to the structure of the gates (wood and/or hinges).

    Another issue we have is that the drivers close the lids on the large containers and the elderly and short people are unable to lift the lids and place garbage inside containers. We have hired a company to come a couple days weekly to help sort and pick up garbage in the enclosures to make things easier for RS drivers...it would be great if the company could reciprocate and help us take care of the physical property and residents, since we are held hostage and don't have the ability to use a different company.

    I recently opened my new business and ordered a dumpster from this company, waited for 2 weeks, the dumpster never showed up, it finally got here, I paid about $400 the first month, they missed first pick up, I was ok, since it wasn’t full at that time, missed 2nd pick up two weeks after the first one, I called, they said will pick up tomorrow, never showed up, called again today, the lady said the dispatch could not get to the dumpster, I need a dumpster with wheels so that can get to it, so why don’t they give me one with wheels at the first place? It is not my responsibility, I paid for the service!

    Lady wants to charge me $200 to send out a dispatch again, I asked, "$200 on top of the fee I already paid but I never received the service?" She reply yes. She ask me to move the dumpster to a place where the dispatch and get to it, I asked how? It weights like a car full of trash! The lady on phone said it would be easy, it’s a 2 yard, if it is that easy, why wouldn’t the dispatch moves it? I requested to cancel the service and she send me to another person right away, obviously these people does not care about their company and their job! They only wants to take your money. Do not use republic service!

    This company is the WORST. They constantly miss trash pick up at our home Clark, NJ. We reported it online by filling out a form and yet again they missed the reschedule pick up. I called 4 times but all they’re saying is that they will escalate the issue. I looked at my cameras and noticed that the truck was picking up everyone’s garbage except my garbage. Why? I don’t know!!! I will be seeking another Residential Trash Removal Provider because this company is the worst.

    Without any notification, charges for container relocation and three separate pick up services for new organic carts were placed on my bill. Called customer service on 7/11/22 and waiting on hold for 20 minutes. Then spoke to three different customer service reps for an hour and 13 minutes and none of them could explain the charges or help me reverse the charges. Asked to be transferred to a supervisor or someone who could actually help me with an explanation. The rep hung up on me while transferring and never called me back. Called back and waited on hold for another 30 minutes and still have no resolution. Being the only game in town they have a monopoly and can charge whatever and whenever. Where else can we go to get service?

    Desired outcome: Give written advanced notice of rate increases or new charges at least a month in advance. Provide a detailed explanation of new charges on the invoice. Refund me for charges that are not agreed upon or justified.

    Updated on 09/13/2022: Republic practically laughs at me and ditches my emails and phone calls. I'm at the point of frustration that can't be explained. These OKC people are incompetent beyond words. Even this review auto responder never followed up with me. What a joke. I'll never get my money back for the year of the auto overpayment on that office I sold a long time ago. I'm going to keep writing reviews until I get a response from a human or until I feel I get my thousands of the stolen money back from the Republic or until they ruin my credit. THEY ARE STILL SENDING ME BILLS ON A PROPERTY I SOLD OVER 1 YEAR AGO. The new owner keeps trying to get it off his property. Guess what? He has trouble getting to them also. AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COST!!

    Original Review: Been with Republic for over 3 years. Talking to URSULA, one of their OKC managers - I've had resolved issues for over 14 months with

    1. Bad communication - Long hold time and never reach a manager who can properly remove my billing errors.
    2. Very regular missed trash pickup resulting in $88 overage charge (told by the customer service mange that it can be charged if the lid is open because of one piece of cardboard lifting the lid).
    3. Contracts that do not protect the customer - Only protect the account manager ( a person you can never reach).
    4. I got over charged for 15 months on a missed pickup up of the old container at an office location I sold). I was told by the customer service that it was never picked up - the new owner said he had the same exact problem with Republic so he told them to pick up the container which they never did - it's still there to this day charging my credit card).
    5. They can only credit back 3 months of the overcharge (apparently according to my fine print on the contract).

    6. On hold systems kept me on hold for over 30 minutes each time regularly - especially when you select "billing questions.

    Honestly, this seems like another corporate ran machine that thrives on tricking people into getting into contracts. I'm going to work with a local small business that has open top trash cans and better customer service without a contract.

    Updated on 07/12/2022: Round Two of review, Was assured dumpster would be picked up on 7/12/2022 via phone call and it is still on my property. Walked out to my mail box and they were also kind enough to send a past due bill... I terminated serves four months ago! I've been more than patient with this company and they drew my last straw. The dumpster that has been on my property is now being claimed as abandoned. If you are looking for a waste management provider save yourself the trouble and look elsewhere!!!

    Original Review: Things started out good, I even decided to get a larger dumpster from them since I'm remodeling my home. I always kept the amount to a minimum in the dumpster as to not overload the truck so it can always be picked up. Picked ups would still regularly be missed leaving me with an overflow of trash, when asked why I would never be given a reason and was told id have to pay for a special pick up on a few occasions. THEN the price for the dumpster went from $95 a month to suddenly $165 a month with no warning, when asked why I was told "gas prices went up our prices go up". Understandable but outrageous, while yes gas prices in my area of Texas have gone up to about $4 a gallon the depo, dump, and pick up area in my small town don't add up to a price jump that high. I decided to terminate my service, paid my last bill and have not put anything in the dumpster since.

    FOUR months later the dumpster is STILL on my property. I have received two phone calls in the last four months, one informing me they will pick up their dumpster in a week (that was almost two months ago), the second call was asking if I'm going to pay my past due balance of four months, I politely informed the representative I am not and that their dumpster has been abandoned at my home the last four months. I was assured it would be picked up ASAP, that was a week ago so I called to find out what the hold up is and was told it will be picked up July 12th now. The list goes on and on with this company, between missed pick ups, rude customer service, price gouging and pure laziness. One star is too much

    Original Review: No stars would be too many for this company. We waste so much time on the phone with no solution to our problem. Our yard waste has not been picked up for 54 days!!! We refuse to buy more trashcans....16 cans out there now with our grass underneath them dead. We have an acre of ground so normally 10 cans of yard waste every week. We are suppose to list our house for sale this month!! Very polite customer service reps so I don't blame them. Supervisors never call us back so I blame the chain of command.     We have lived in our home for 16 years. Until recently we had used Republic Services for our trash collection. Besides missed pickups, the fees for their service kept going up (with no notice or explanation) and when we would call they would say they would adjust the rate but always after a couple billing cycles it was right back up again. In March of 2022 I had the idea to check with my next door neighbors to see what their rate was. One told me he paid almost $100 less per 3 month cycle and the other said they paid $40 less. When our last bill arrived early 2022 for $219 we called to terminate service as of March 31st. We paid our final bill and they picked up the containers mid April.

    I was happy to think I was finally done with them until we received ANOTHER bill stating that we owed them $30 X 2 for picking up THEIR trash cans PLUS another $30.47 for a FUEL SURCHARGE!!!! PLUS another $5.95 "administration" charge. Never in our sixteen years was I informed of any such "exit" fees. Calling and speaking with their representative was nothing but a waste of time. I was left with the impression it was "punishment" for quitting their service. I find it hard to believe a company can have the nerve to treat their (longtime) customers in such a shady fashion and still be able to remain in business. I would give them zero stars if it was an option....

    My recycling sits at the end of my driveway waiting to be picked up since the beginning of June. I’ve received a call saying they were behind by one day, then a call saying their behind by a week. I’ve called looking to get credit for the services I have not received and got a $1.55 credit, which I haven’t actually seen on paper yet. This is after emailing them a few times letting them know about the missed pickups. You as a customer have to call as soon as possible about a missed pickup to get any credit, apparently that is stated on their invoice, which shows up on time. Once you have customer service on the phone, some give you attitude and some excuses. I was told someone would be here last Thursday for recycling, there it sit full. I (we) as customers shouldn’t have to pay for a service we’re not receiving. When my service was with the Auburn office, I had no problems.

    Go with another provider even if it cost more. The peace will be worth it. They will not provide you the service you expect. Your trash will not get picked up. The business hours listed for customer service are a joke. You can call, but no one will answer the phone. Yes, I have waiting for a customer service agent to pick up the phone for over 45 minutes now on a Friday after the posted hours they are open. No, they did not pick up my trash - AGAIN. I plan to just keep putting the trash in the street. Because these people are such a joke - along with all the other "services" in my area, I'm leaving. Good luck.

    I paid the usual bill in February as billed. Next bill should’ve been due 5/2/22 but received in March saying due 4/9/22?! Which I assumed was an error & felt I did not owe until next month. Called and discussed which they said was due to original billing dates were wrong? Still same service period etc. which I disagreed with- they’re still requiring $$ a month earlier than normal plus went up again on charges!! I paid $65.25 on credit card 4/25 and assumed there would be no late charge per the issues. I guess I got even more confused and paid the regular payment of $65.25 on Bill Payer 5/2/22 which of course they never contacted about it. June I received a bill for $5.00 late fee??!!! I feel they had financial issues and their resolution was billing customers a month early plus increased rate which would have brought in a tremendous amount of $ for them!

    6/23/22 I sent Message to Customer Service online, then sent issue info on Feedback, then sent another email to ‘customersupport@republicservices.com’. 6/23/22 I called c/s 800-328-7274 explained circumstances and demanded late fee removal; after arguing it, the rep said she will remove it. I asked about removing recycle service and charges - she said there is no separate charge - tried saying IT IS FREE? I explained that when I opened service 7 years ago it WAS an option and separate fee. Seems now they do not allow people to cancel that part - we pay for it even if we don’t use it?!!!

    This used to be a good company, but it has really gone downhill over the past year or two. Frequent missed pickups. The one time I put out a "heavy" bag - maybe 7 or 8 pounds - they didn't take it, and it was only after I reported it as a missed pickup that they told me it was too heavy and considered bulk. Now I'm trying to cancel my service because I'm moving and nobody picks up the phone at 732-469-3777. There isn't even a voicemail system. I have been calling for the past week and have also emailed through the Republic Services website.

    I hauled out all of my yard waste and bulk pick up items for Republic. They did not pick them up on the assigned day. I called republic and reported this. They told me they would be out by the end of the business day. They did not come. I called again and they said they would pick them up early the next morning. They did not pick them up at all. I called again and they said they would elevate my problem to a supervisor and that person would get a hold of me before the end of the day. That person never called.

    I had to haul all the stuff back to my house as the city does not allow it to be left out for an extended period of time. I called again requesting a supervisor and the woman I talk to refused to listen to me. She would talk over me all the time. I had to haul the stuff out for the next scheduled pick up. The customer service department at Republic do not know how to handle customer problems. They said they would come out and pick it up and they lied and they didn’t come out. They said they would call me and they lied. They didn’t call. It’s too bad that we don’t have a choice in this matter. Republic knows it, and they could not care less.

    I rented a few dumpster from Republic in April 2022 and paid for the rentals at the time I ordered services. I continue to get invoices billing me. Today I telephoned the billing department. Was on hold for over an hour and then when it seemed I was being transferred the line disconnected. I continue to email them and provide copies of my receipt for payment but the invoices keep coming by mail and email. Just awful. They sure are quick to answer when ordering new services.

    I called to cancel after we received our new billing and it had gone up almost $70! I waited on hold for over an hour! I was asked if lowering the bill would keep me from leaving.... UMM if it could be lowered then why am I paying this amount?!?! I was told that I needed to PAY THE THREE MONTHS BILL and then would be refunded for the amount due back to me. Then was told that it would be over a month until they could pick up my cans. This meant I would have to continue to pay for service until they could pick up the cans. The woman finally agreed to pick them up 10 days later, but I was still expected to pay for that time. Meanwhile I had already begun service with another company for a fraction of the cost. Sorry I am not paying to house your cans because you can't pick them up in a timely manner.

    I had Randy's Sanitation for many years. Things seemed to go downhill FAST when they combined with Republic. My bill went from $118.36 to $134.39 in one cycle. The NEXT bill I received (March 31) was for $152.19. I immediately called to cancel (found a better, less expensive company), I was told that I had to pay though the end of the current month. The representative told me that the amount for that was $50.73, which I paid. The last pick up was April 28th. The NEXT statement I received showed a credit balance of $40.60. So AGAIN, I called. Was told that it would take them 2-4 weeks to mail a check.

    TODAY (June 6), I received an envelope from Republic, expecting a check to be inside. Instead, it was a statement showing that they charged me for items in MAY, and now shows a credit balance of $1.95. So AGAIN I called. Turns out that they charge you for Fuel Recovery and Environmental Recovery JUST TO HAVE THEM PICK UP THE CANS. Supposedly, they're going to send me a check for the $1.95, but as you probably already assumed, it will take at least 2 weeks. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. If I could have given ZERO stars, I would.

    I am very disgusted with their customer service. A few years ago they said that they were going to send me to a credit service for not paying a bill that I was never notified that I owed. This happened 2 years in a row. This year I paid $80 for lawn waste removal. I was charged twice and then charged me the same amount to reverse the removal of one of the $80. The charge was the same amount. What costs them $80? When you return other things on your card you are not charged. If I had a choice I would definitely get rid of their service. Their site also says that they notify you when the day of pick up is changed due to a holiday. I have never been notified.

    5 weeks no recycling pickup. 3 weeks no trash pickup. These guys are absolutely infuriating. They constantly cancel pickup, and are often DAYS late. My bins are always at the end of my driveway. I live in central Massachusetts outside Worcester. I'm dumping this company like the herpetic mass that they are. I don't know what's inside the trucks I see driving by (while my trash sits on the side of the road) but it sure the hell isn't trash. I don't often say this, but I absolutely HATE this company. Bye bye.

    I just received my most recent bill and it nearly DOUBLED!! My bill went from $84 to $147 in ONE billing cycle. They took it upon themselves not only to raise my regular rate significantly, but now added a nearly $50 fuel surcharge. I called and they said it will always be on there from here on out. CORPORATE GREED at its finest! They miss my trash pickup at least once a month but will NEVER give a discount on my bill. If I underpay due to their missed services, they charge me a late fee. This company is the WORST. This Company should be fined and shut down.

    Consumer Beware!! Being a loyal customer for many years – we noticed a large increase in our monthly bill. Republic Services has kept us in a perpetual contract with unreasonable rates, NOT related to the current economy, it’s just their business practices. Poor communication, Lack of timely response or no response period – they billed a dust collector as a compactor $375 per month and charged a large monthly fuel surcharge of $142 per month – the collector was only moved twice a year! They also charged an administrative fee on each statement!

    Republic Services charged more twice the amount, with the fuel fees for similar services in our area. I consider the outright theft of a small business by Republic Services the worst of places to do business with. Even WITH a three year contract Republic Services will still increase the bill on yearly intervals. READ your contract before signing! If you contact them to renegotiate the contract for a better price – they start the three year period ALL over again. We paid a huge fee to cancel our contract to dislodge our business from Republic Services for ethical reasons and they are still billing us! Consumer Beware!!!

    We bought a new house and moved away from our old house in December 2021. Early January we called Republic trash to cancel their services. We kept getting bills saying past due. We had auto payments but our credit card expired about the time I cancelled, so I never gave them a new card. In March after they sent a letter threatening collections, I called them again, they said that the bill was still due as they didn't see the account was closed. I paid the $80 something bill, they said that it was now cancelled. In April we received another bill and I called them again. The person I spoke with said that they could see that the account was closed, but I overpaid and should not have paid that bill. They said that pick up of trash and recycling bins would cost $60 something and that they would pick up the bins and send us a check for the difference and to disregard the bill.

    This entire time the trash bins have been out at the street for pick up since December. This week (mid-May) we received another bill and a voicemail saying amount is severely past due and as of yesterday the bins were still by the street. Today I called again. Over an hour of holding, once a minute having to press 2 to continue holding, they didn't know why I was getting another bill but said not to worry about it and that they would again request that the bins get picked up. At this point we do not know if this is resolved, we do not know yet if there has been reporting to our credit for the supposed late pays. We were satisfied with their services for 8 or 9 years, we paid the bills promptly, and this is the thanks we get for doing business with them. Never again.

    If you are looking for a business that is just out to make as much money as possible while providing the lowest possible amount of customer service, look no further. They doubled my bill, and then tried to play it off as a “fuel charge.” They missed my pick up (after I set my can out at the normal time I do every week), and played it off as my fault. I cancelled with them, and will certainly recommend anyone else. Stay away.

    I have been with this company for over 8 years, one would think, that being a large company, they would be more professional and let their customers know they are selling your account to another company, PRIOR to the other company walking in my door. Not only did they not tell me they were selling our account, which was closed out as of 04/30 with no access to my online account & they still withdrew $ from my bank account on 05/10 - for the month of May! When I called they said - oh just be patient we will be transferring the money to the new company. I also received a bill from the new company dated the same day from the old company for the month of May- Then to top it all off, the new company comes in and introduced himself and then asked where he puts the lock on our gates so they can come and go whenever they would like!!! Excuse me, I don't think so. you can come during normal business hours, just like everyone else.

    My company began using this company towards the later part of last year. I began having questions with the first invoice and customer service was not helpful at all. As time went on, their invoices were paid on time until, we received one with an extremely high fuel/environmental recovery fee. After months of trying unsuccessfully to get an answer as to how this fee was calculated, I received a demanding email for payment due to me not responding to them; not true at all. I never once received any kind of response from them. Today I finally spoke with someone after 7 months, who gave me the answer I was looking for; however I am not pleased with what this company is doing. They charge a fee on top of another fee and the calculation is still off. Beware of the fees with this company.

    We had Republic Services as our trash hauler for many years. It was a continuous nightmare - broken glass in the street, cans that were only half-emptied, recycling and garbage dumped in the street, cans thrown in the middle of the street or blocking the driveway, missed pick ups, etc. etc. etc. We were spending a stupid amount of time registering complaints or just being angry. It was so frustrating and the problems seemed to become more and more frequent. Quitting this company was good for my home's curb value and for our mental health. The local company we went with is pleasant, courteous, and actually does their job. I cannot believe Republic Services can even stay in business. I'll never go back.

    I used this company because the previous owner left the dumpster. They collected the dumpster and didn't deliver another one for 2 weeks but still wanted to pay for the 2 weeks. Recently my bill went up by 35% so I started shopping for a new service. When I called to cancel I was on hold for 20 minutes before a message came on that someone would call me back. Why did I have to wait 20 minutes for that option? When I canceled they offered to match the new price. I declined and was informed there is a $30.00 fee to pick up THEIR dumpster. Don't do business with this company. I found a local company at 1/2 their price.

    I'm the security guard at South St Landing with two enormous trash bins overflowing with garbage for the past 3 days. We have a restaurant and a school with over a thousand people and we can't afford to have these bins stacked up. The garbage bags for the entire building are lined up on the floor thanks to Republics Services incompetence. THEY SUCK!

    I rented a dumpster from them and paid in full over the phone with a credit card. I gave them dates to pick up and remove the dumpster. The dumpster wasn't delivered. They chose another day to deliver it without informing me. It set me back a whole weeks worth of progress. When I called to resolve the issue. I was told I would be given a credit to compensate for my troubles. They never did give me a credit even after customer service gave me a date for the check arrival. They instead sent me a bill for another 36 dollars. I don't recommend them at all!

    When I received my last bill, I called immediately and wondered why it increased so much. They apologized and said there wasn’t anything they could do. I decided to cancel my service. Today I received a call that my payment was late. I don’t know why the different departments don’t communicate with each other to know when people canceled a service. Also they need to work on their customer service skills. Being rude and threatening is not ok.

    This company is all about the fees. I was charged $100 to start with them!! They also charge "pick up" fees when service is cancelled - how about $37 a can!!! They are the worst. Try calling in - customer service is awful - one hand doesn't know what the other is doing. I was told I would be sent a final bill, which I did receive and paid right away...well guess what? I just got another bill in the mail from these guys...STAY AWAY...they are the worst!!!

    Today I watched as garbage fell from the cans into the road while the trash was being picked up. The workers never picked up the trash that they dropped. This went on all down the street. I called customer service and was told there was nothing they can do.

    Updated on 04/27/2022: Posted details on my experience with Republic 'services' trash on 4/26/2022. Received requests from Republic to contact the company 'privately' to resolve (???) my complaint. Is this request for a private reply analogous to Will Smith sincerely apologizing for slapping Chris Rock in the heat of a public moment? Apologize and move on? Silence the claim? Forgive & forget? If the company of Republic Service seeks to reform their ways of doing business, it needs to address concerns through proactive in-house changes, not by trolling bad reviews from FORMER customers. I believed them the first time. There is nothing more to be said.

    Original Review: Republic services purchased Randy's Environmental, a residential garbage service that was above average in terms of cost but the service they provided was exceptional. There had been few service issues with Randy's, mostly setting up the account 8 years ago, but exceptional customer service was quick to resolve anything that cropped up. After Republic absorbed Randy's Environmental, the service from them has been abysmal. Current charge for three months of weekly pickup is $120. Senior citizen discount $7.80. And that was after they jacked up their prices from $90 every three months (40 gallon/weekly pickup) to $120. I have made more calls to the Republic Services customer service in two days than all of the calls over 8 years to Randy's Environmental.

    The current issue this week (4/26/22) is my garbage pickup date was 4/25. Republic Services parked their truck in front of my neighbor's house for 3 minutes (my neighbor does not use Republic Services) - then drove past my home without collecting the trash. The same truck drove past a second time, going in the opposite direction, but still no trash pickup. My trash was still in the container at the end of the day. This never happened with Randy's Environmental.

    I then called Republic Service's customer service. Call #1 directed me to keep my trash container outside at the curb because the Republic Services truck could arrive as early as 04:30 AM. At 11:00 my trash had not been collected. Call #2 directed me to leave the trash at the curb and it would be collected today by 5:00 PM. While I was collected to the customer service, I asked them confirm my account number with the company, as it had apparently changed when Republic absorbed Randy's

    Call #3 to customer service was to - again - request confirmation of my account number because the online registration was not accepting the previous number provided by customer service. That person provided a completely different account number. However, I was still unable to register to "link my account" due to the need for an invoice number. Really? If you have the option of choosing a trash hauler, avoid Republic Services. Hey Republic - if you are reading this, I want my prepaid bill promptly refunded after I cancel my service. There is no "fix" to Republic Services.

    Unfortunately, I had to give a star, but they don't even deserve that much! I tried starting service March 31st, but by April 13th I had to cancel my service. They never delivered my cans in order to discard my garbage. They escalated my call twice and had no result of it. Then they want to send me a bill for no service whatsoever. I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone. You're better off figuring out other ways to discard your garbage.

    They did not pick up our garbage for 5 weeks straight, first week claimed too much snow, 2nd and 3rd claimed too much snow, even though all roads were plowed, 4th and 5th week, they went on strike, but they lied to us, and told us our garbage would be picked up on Saturday, never mentioned a strike was going on, called and complained, got credit for the month of January, just got a statement claiming I owed 57.36, which is the same amount of credit, they reversed the credit, they constantly miss pickups for your garbage, just last Friday they missed our garbage again, you call and talk with customer service, and they lie to you, just to get you off the phone, because they don’t want to hear your complaints, well then provide better service. Told them I would not pay the 57.36 credit, that I have in writing. Canceled service, do yourself a favor, do not use them, nothing but headaches.

    Sadly, I received an additional statement today nearing $17.00 after paying $70 just last week. No explanation. I called and spoke to a very nice representative who explained that gas prices and other things were the reasons. Certainly we all know inflation is an all time high. Two charges, each at nearly $6, are due to administrative and get this, fuel/environmental recover fee! I’m all for our environment! When I mentioned this the gal retracted and said the increase she first mentioned wasn’t just about gas! I just can’t fathom paying this much to have my trash picked up weekly! Republic Services has been good to work with although at a business I used to be, it was not. What is really frustrating? No communication! There was not a letter or email warning customers. How unprofessional and unwarranted! I’m going to be searching for other options. Republic Services~your customers deserve better.

They can never explain why & when we scheduled the “make-up” days for the missed pick-up, they missed those days too! Their account reps are extremely rude and disrespectful and they just simply don’t care. I was tired of babysitting them and was so embarrassed by the bad impressions it made on my business regarding the overstuffed dumpster and garbage on the ground surrounding the dumpster. The rep lied about what it would cost to get out of my contract by $1000.00 but it was the best money I ever spent. Stay far far away from this company!!!

    I didn't have any complaints about Republic's trash and recycling services, but I was trying to reduce our household expenses and found another local company that could do the job for a much better price, so I switched. I was warned by the rep at the new company to make sure Republic refunded any credit on my account, because they have a reputation for "forgetting" to do so. When my final statement from Republic arrived, they had charged me a fee to remove their containers, which I found egregious. I called immediately to contest that charge, and was told that they have to send a special truck that doesn't get great gas mileage to pick up containers from former customers. "Why is that my problem?" I asked. "Sounds like the cost of doing business." Although they refused to remove the entire charge, they did reduce it. I was then told to expect to see my positive balance of $155.95 returned to my credit card on file in 6-8 weeks.

    I wish I had made a note in my calendar to check my credit card statement 6-8 weeks later, but life happened, other mail was placed on my desk, and the Republic invoice was forgotten. Today the invoice resurfaced, and I decided to review my credit card history. "It's been 11 months now," I thought, "I'm sure Republic must have credited my account, and I just didn't notice it on my statements." Nope. Republic Services has been holding on to my credit balance for 11 MONTHS. I called their customer service number. The woman I spoke with was professional and apologetic. She indicated it wasn't unusual for customers to have to insist on getting their refunds because Republic's system isn't set up to process them automatically. Excuse me?! She said she would process the refund request, which I can expect to see in the mail in -- you guessed it -- 6-8 weeks. This time, you know I'm setting an alarm in my calendar.

    Now, I know $155.95 isn't going to make or break my family's finances but, on a larger scale, if Republic has purposely created a system that fails to refund customers the credit balances they are due, imagine how many hundreds of thousands -- perhaps even millions -- of dollars they are keeping in their coffers that don't belong to them! How many customers like me make a change in their trash hauler and forget to confirm that they have received the credit balances Republic owes them? More likely, how many people close an account due to a cross-country move or having to sell the home a now-deceased parent once lived in and, in the stress of that situation, don't even realize there is a credit due to them? I cannot recommend working with a company with such low moral and ethical standards.

    We’ve had Republic since 2020. Our bill has increased over $25 since we first started our service. Which is understandable. I tried navigating their website to see how much it would cost to get a second trash bin. Didn’t navigate the website right and when I requested an estimate I was quoted as a new customer and it was going to be $440 for quarterly pick up. $440!!!! For only 1 trash bin!!!! That’s over $300 what we pay now! If they can think I’m a new customer and say that’s it’s going to be over $440 when I’m currently paying them $105 how much more will my bill go up? We’ve also tried adding recycling to our pick up and we’re told it was unavailable, even though our neighbor has recycling through them (they live 50 feet away from us…). Do better. Stop scamming people. I am now looking for a new trash company..

The bill was finally received in my mail on April 8, 2022 and they dated the 27 January 2022. How do I know when it was mailed. I have perfect credit and pay bills for multiple handicapped individuals who are unable to handle their affairs but THESE crooks say I did not pay and charged a lien that was DOUBLE MY BILL. They are criminal. I saw there was a Class Action Lawsuit against them a few years ago, maybe time for another!

I got constant calls with “we can’t make it out today, but still leave your trash and we’ll get it tomorrow” only for my trash to never get picked up. Sometimes I never even got calls, they just never came and got it. At one point, my trash had not been picked up for THREE WEEKS so I submitted for a missed pick up and they said “we’ll be out next Friday to pick it up.” Well Friday is my trash day so that completely defeats the purpose of submitting for a missed pick up.

    Then, I get my bill for the first three months of the start of my second year and it went up $40. No warning, no notification, nothing. So I decide to go with a different trash company and cancel Republic Services. They tell me to put my can out to be picked up on a specific date. They call me and tell me to put my can out on another day, so I roll it out there and it has now been sitting in my driveway waiting to be picked up for three days. They obviously can’t even cancel my service right. They are the absolute WORST company I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with.

    After Republic took over our local refuge disposal company and landfill, everything went in the can! I am a general contractor here in Great Falls and have had nothing but problems and huge bills from this company/monopoly. Started with raising my rate on 3 yd dumpster at office/shop and then charging me huge fuel surcharge! From there it went to their temp toilet rentals. Quoted me $85 a month for one with weekly service. They just forgot to mention that fuel surcharge again, along with MILEAGE! Ended up costing over $170 a month. The last, and possibly the worst, 30 yd container rent. Had a home to tear down and was quoted $335 a dump and $4 a day rent. Finally got it delivered on site after speaking with three different people on the east coast.

    Started calling for pickups/returns and they couldn't give me a timeframe for pickup, just morning or afternoon. Explained to out of stater on the other end of the line that I needed it dumped twice daily... They say that can't be orchestrated! I asked to speak to a manager to which her response was "That's what my manager's telling me." She FINALLY directed me to someone LOCAL to which I was able to speak to and not have to shut the job down waiting to see when they'd get there to dump/return container. We navigated that for a few days but when I tried to schedule final pickup today online they said I needed to call because they couldn't access my account. You call their local number and go through the same 15 automated questions each time only to wait on hold for a human to ask you those same questions all over again 15 minutes later if you're lucky!

    Received an invoice for the first 5 or 6 dumps and seen they were gracious enough to charge me over $600 in fuel charges! THEY DON'T ESTIMATE THIS PER DUMP? I'm left wondering how this is even legal? I'd sure would like to just show up and charge customers whatever I wanted after I gave them a quote for a scope of work. The only problem is that I have standards and on top of that; THERE'S SOMEBODY ELSE THEY COULD CHOOSE TO GET THE WORK ACCOMPLISHED! It's no wonder our city is moving forward on a study to possibly start their own landfill because nobody can afford to do business with this company! They've managed to buy out a great company, only to flip the switch on local interaction & scheduling and replace that with some individual across the country telling you what he/she can't do for you after waiting on hold for periods of time! THANKS FOR NOTHING!

We are a business and our customers come to see the overflowing trash container in the parking lot. Called multiple times to claim and all that I get is they will prioritize the pick up which since Friday till now, Tuesday didn’t happen. So frustrating. And we can’t switch to another one since they are the ones assigned in the area.

    On May 4 or 5 of 2021, I set up an account with Republic Services for my new house. I was told I would receive a bill in the mail with an invoice number so I could finish my account setup. Nearly one year later and I still have yet to receive a bill. Today, my trash was not picked up. I tried calling, offices closed. I got ahold of an agent online and was told my account was never set up and they have no further information. I was told my only option was to call back tomorrow. I assumed me setting up my account a year ago was covered but somehow the company has lost all information, despite picking up my trash until now.

    Have used them for our business for a very long time. Had to change our service due to Covid for 3 day a week pick up. Was forced to sign a 3-year contract. At end of 2021 no longer needed 3xs and wanted to go back to 2xs and was having issues with the trash can. It's nearly impossible to reach anyone at the local offices. Have to call 800 then leave a message and have your rep call back. We tried this a couple of times with no callbacks. They are also very messy constantly throwing trash in our lot or just not even picking it up. I had no choice but to get a new company. So after 2 calls back about canceling my service finally got someone to reply. They are nothing but rude and trying to force us to pay the 1000 bill when plus 4700 on top of that or they are going to turn us over to legal.

    I don't think you failed to contact me back many times or resolve my issues. And yet had to talk to some guy in another state who was not even the local center. I have had them for almost 15 years and this is the treatment we get. We know lots of other businesses all over the place. I will be sure to tell them to never sign up for your service if you are going to force the issue.

    For starters this is the only time in my lifetime that I've submitted a negative review. I've been with these guys since we bought our house. Recently we started a remodel and needed a 10 yard dumpster. So I order one. It's 1200+bucks and they delivered. I was told that I have 9day to fill and at that time I would be approx. 400 bucks for gas. After the 9 days or I would be be charged again 1200 bucks. And here's what happened...

    1) I had them come pick it up 'cause I couldn't determined how long it would take to fill it a second and I didn't want to or could afford consecutive 1200 charges. 2) Turns out the 9 days was incorrect. So I could of saved quite a bit if I just had it dumped and brought back. 3) I found out they had overcharged me 400+ bucks. Still waiting for a refund??? 4) I ordered a new dumpster same size and they said that after I paid for it and signed the contract (I did both) they would have it there on Friday. I paid workers to come Sat and Sun. Got home Friday night, no dumpster, no missed calls from them and they are closed till Mon. Wasted a ton of money. 5) Called in Monday to ask why they said that the contract had a typo or something and that's why it wasn't delivered. Thanks for the heads up!

    6) So I ordered another one and they said they would apply the refunded money from the overcharge to the second one. They didn't! 7) Then I get a bill in the mail not about the credit they owe, but it's another bill for for 1st dumpster for over 1000 buck because they said it weighed 10 tons. I thought ok. You you did expect it to weigh a lot I hope? 8) So that's now 2200 bucks for a 10yard dumpster that was rented for 9 days. 9) I called the billing dep't and the lady was nice and agreed that the charge was oddly high and said she would have to escalate to a mgr and they would call me back with in 24 hours.

    10) 48 hours later I called back the said sorry but they are under staffed and give it another 24 hours. Nothing, no one called. 11) I called back. This person said it's because it's not their dep't and I need to go to sales and they will call me back. Nope. No one. 12) It's been 3 weeks, I called again and went over the whole story AGAIN and the again said it wasn't their dep't and put me on hold for 25 minutes until I finally had to go to work.

    These people SUCK, from their service to just getting in touch with anyone, they tried to charge us 200 plus for a so called unscheduled pick up when we called 3 times on our day to find out why no one picked up the trash, then those fools had the nerve to charge us for it being a overage when I have pictures every time they pick it up, then they had the nerve to ask me if they took it off if we would sign a new contract, that place is a fricken RIP OFF, they could never get me or me to refer anyone to that company, they just seem to be a bunch of con-artist over there.

    This condominium building has contracted for bi-weekly 3 yard dumpster household trash removal with Republic Services. For three of the last four weeks one of those scheduled trash pick-ups have been missed each week causing a huge problems for all owners who are not able to discard garbage as planned. Repeated calls to customer service provide no information as to when service may be expected and messages left for the area Service Manager are not returned, although a message states that calls will be returned within an hour. Obviously our business is greatly affected by the fact that Republic Services can not properly manage the business they are being paid for. Other Condominium complexes, associated with this complex in this area, are experiencing exactly the same results from poorly operated Republic Services. I can no longer recommend their services and our Condo Boards are actively searching for an alternate provider.

    They provide very poor service. Missed pickups with no recourse. Price is insanely high, cans break all the time - it's very easy to find local companies with much much lower prices. As a final kick in the teeth, these parasites charge you a $90 pickup fee to pick up their cans when you cancel service that I did *not* agree to when I signed up for service with them. The website lists this fee but states that it can be whatever they want it to be. Unfortunately, I will have to pay these blood sucking jackals because they will trash my credit if I don't. Avoid this company at all costs.

    I’m at a total loss of words with this company. They never brought my trash can for the first almost 3 weeks when I first started with them. They then came and “accidentally” took my trash can for 2 weeks. So I cancelled before my next billing cycle and they told me I didn’t owe anything else. Then later I got a voice mail saying I owe them 150 something dollars and it would be sent to the debt collector. No one I talk to is on the same page as the other. If I could give this a negative star I would. Please do your research and find a fair company.

    Got along fine with Republic until I canceled to go with another service. They charged me for them to come out and pickup their containers that belonged to them, which I would not do, and they turned it over to a collection agency. Talk about burning bridges. I might have considered going back to them in the future, but not now. They need to take a lesson from Verizon, because when I left them for another carrier, they were extremely helpful in getting things set up with the new carrier, and did not burn any bridges with a bad attitude.

    I used to have a trash service that went out of business or was bought out by Republic services. THEY NEVER told me this happened, THEY BILLED ME a late fee because a payment I HAD NO IDEA I owed was owed, THEN after I called TWICE to get that fixed they assured me the money would be credited and I would not pay that late fee for a mistake THEY made. I was STILL charged the late fee. Now I have to wait till MONDAY to call them during their working hours to find out what they can do about it. If I could give these frauds a zero star I would. Never in my life have I been treated like TRASH by a TRASH PICKUP company. These people have no shame and I'm already shopping for a different company or might end up just driving my own trash to a dump and paying a dump for their services. Screw this company. Do yourself a favor and DON'T choose them.

    Original Review: When I jointed Republic Service in the beginning of last Dec. I ordered 3 cans bundle online i.e. trash can, recycle can & yard waste can. I received the confirmation for the bundle. Up till now I still have not received the yard waste can. I called and was told that Republic does not provide that can anymore. The yard waste can was one of the reasons I switched to Republic Service. We have a lot of rain in spring and summer. Since we have to use paper bags for yard waste. The bags can not take too much rain water. Due to pandemic the pick up schedule become irregular sometimes. If the bags are not picked up weekly they could be rotten and broken. Can not believe such a big public company would break their confirmation and promises.

    I had to close my business location and get a smaller storage type unit due to covid. I set up service explaining my situation as a temporary location that I wanted the smallest bin available. After the driver not leaving a key and leaving my bin open for all the homeless to dump all their trash every week only a few hrs after pick up. I have to reach out to customers support and leave notes before every pick up to close and lock my bin, all to no avail. Leaving our trash unlocked most of the time over the next year.

    A few months go by and they reach out to me letting me know they can no longer provide that size dumpster and they also need to have a food recycle bin added to my account. My monthly services go from under 100$ to 220$, then go up till they are now at 250$+. I have never even open the recycle food container. Covid has forced us closed and I finally am out of money and have to move out of that location. I call to cancel my services and am told I am on a 3 year contract!! NEVER DISCLOSED AND HIDDEN IN THE FINE PRINT! They snuck that in and never disclosed anything longer than month to month. In these times in the middle of covid and your trying to lock customers into a contract. Unbelievable.

    Hands down the worst trash hauler I have ever worked with. I've been in construction for 34 years and Republic is by far the most incompetent. I have no idea how they are in business. You can not get an answer from anyone, the customer service people are nice but talking to them gets you nowhere and nothing changes. Consistently they can't find your account and you are told trash wasn't picked up due to it being blocked or not out when you know this is not true. There are also random cancelations aka delayed service with no explanation. I would be willing to say that Republic Services is 1 of the worst companies that I have ever worked with. Whatever you do, do not use this company. The only reason I gave 1 star is because it won't let me give 0 stars.

    I own a duplex in Bay City, Mi. My mother lives in 1 side and my aunt lived in the other. She passed away in October at which time I phoned for waste management to stop service. This is through Hampton Township that is in contract with Republic. Apparently their contract holds them and customers responsible for services even if they're not needed. If this is basically a tax through the township then it should be on our tax bill. It may be chump change for Republic, but certainly not for customers some of which are on limited incomes to continue to pay a fee for which they don't need. I've been told that I'll need to pay the fee until we sell the duplex. Is this good business practice?

    Almost invariably there will be missed pick ups for every week with trashes lying around in the neighborhood. They change the rates arbitrarily every 2 to 3 months even after having promised certain rate and would charge service termination fees if the auto payment set up doesn't match.

    I’ve been with Republic Services for four years. Every billing cycle I must call because they raise rates every billing cycle. I ended up canceling after a $30 raise, and after a month I am still storing their container and they keep pushing out the pick up date. I have to chase that container down the street when the wind blows, and now moving and still getting no good answer on pick up. Tried to call corporate, but it disconnects you soon after the first prompt. Local customer service sends me to the corporate number. Worst company I’ve ever done business with.

    My service was interrupted because I forgot to change the auto payment account, and I understanded this was my mistake. So when Republic Services said that all my containers were removed because of this in January, I paid all the bill and restored the service. I contact Republic Services to send the containers back for more than half a month. Every time they said the containers will be delivered before next Monday (the date they need to pick up trash), but I still haven't receive my trash containers. I have service record on the online account said that the containers should be delivered on 2/7 and 2/14, and the record even shows the deliveries are complete. However, I don't see any of my containers. I already live without my containers for one month. This is terrible. I hope this problem can be solved as soon as possible.

    In the past two years we have sent emails and made phone calls regarding missed pick up. Sometimes they would show up after 2:00 pm which we have told them many times and prior to signing our contract that we close our gate at 2:00. There are times they would miss their monthly pick up time and not show up at all for that month. I sent notification of cancellation due to their breach of contract.     I rented and paid for a 20 yard dumpster using their online portal. What a mistake. It took several calls to get the dumpster delivered - apparently there is little communication between the website and the people actually doing the work. The dumpster was delivered a day late and picked up a day early. As far as I can tell, the problem is that I don’t know how to count days. But that was just the beginning of the problem. Once the dumpster was picked up at the end of the contract, I received another invoice. After months of phone calls and discussions, Republic is adamant that I have to pay what amounts to twice what I expected. I will never use this company again. Stay away from them unless you are seriously bored and enjoy maddening telephone calls.

    As a customer of over 21 years, the last five or so have been absolutely horrible! Republic keeps messing up my bills and have even shut my service off on multiple occasions, but can't tell me why. They apologetically restore the service with no explanation and this is the situation I’m currently facing again!! I haven't needed to make a payment for the last few billing because I've had a credit carrying over on my bill. Although I still have a remaining credit, my service was shut off a couple of weeks ago again, and no one can tell me why it was shut off and what is going on with my bills!!

    I’ve called the customer service phone number only to be treated rudely and sarcastically! They couldn’t even understand my bill, and were no help at all. Only more stress and frustration!! Because the customer service phones shut off at 5pm, it’s extremely difficult for a working person to resolve complicated matters, sit on eternal hold or even try to talk to a supervisor while you’re at work. So, I went to our local office where again, I was treated very rudely and sarcastically. The woman at the window even asked me “if it was that important why didn't I take care of the situation sooner?” But, even the woman who worked in the billing office for over 20 years (but wouldn’t come talk to me & relayed her comments through the woman in the window) couldn’t even explain why my service was shut off or what is going on with my billing!

    It’s been almost a week now since I went to the office and was told they would call me after reviewing my bill. I wanted my service restored and during that visit was also told I may have to put a deposit down now to restore service (but wouldn’t say why), even though I have a credit balance for several months and been with them for over 21 years!!!! My trash is piling up at my house and still no contact or resolution from Republic. It’s absolutely horrible the way you treat your dedicated customers, when you're billing is so confusing your own employees can't even figure it out yet I'm being treated as if I did something wrong!

    Updated on 06/15/2022: Still, 4 months later and this company is horrible. Today is 3 weeks since the recycle has been picked up and the trash has not been picked up yet this week. Recycle is supposed to be picked up once a week and the trash twice a week, on Mondays and Wednesdays. 450 residences so you can imagine what the dumpsters look like. The township comes out and takes photos and fines the management company which I hope the management company sends to Republic to pay. Do yourself a favor and go with a different trash removal company.

    Original Review: This is the worst company ever. I live in a development where there are over 450 residences. The dumpsters are overflowing constantly. Haven't had consistent pick-up in over 2 years. They are supposed to come for the trash twice a week and recycles once a week. This week will make 3 weeks since the recycle has been picked up. They don't pick up the trash dumpsters every week either. And when you call they say the same thing, "you're on the schedule". They don't care and the person answering the phones has no clue.

    How do you advertise yourself at being the best when the reviews ALL say otherwise? How do you have a company where your drivers should have a set schedule on set days and know where to go every day, but just don't? It's an embarrassment to have guests over to visit. When will someone investigate this company who charges for services they don't provide? Do yourself and the environment a favor and stay far far away if you can help it.

    My township recently switched from Waste Mgmt to Republic starting Jan. 1, 2022. Our 6th pickup was today, and we have not had a single pickup on time, and in some weeks completely missed. I've reported missed pickups to both my township and also to Republic to no satisfaction. Our streets are littered with trash/recycles, but no one really cares. I've heard all the excuses, this week it was due to weather, sad to say it's been in the 40's each day this week and no snow remains. Can't wait until summer when the trash stinks from sitting around and it's 80 degrees. I guess the excuse will be it's too hot to work. Bring back Waste Mgmt! Not once in 5 years was a pickup missed regardless of weather or anything else. You get what you pay for and cheaper is rarely better!!

    They did not pick up on 2/2/2022 my normal day. I called and was told they would be there on 2/3/2022 due to the weather. No show on 2/3, I called again and was told 2/4, no show again. I called again and was told if they were not there by 5:30 P.M. to call on Monday 2/7/2022 and request a credit that they would issue. I called back on Tuesday 2/8/2022 and was told the company would not credit my account, I explained all my neighbors, who have different vendors were picked up regardless of the"weather", so weather was not an issue! The representative just kept repeating sorry no credit.

    Our small bsns switched to Republic Services in summer, 2021. We had intended to ask for a locked dumpster but communication was suboptimal and we got an unlocked dumpster. In October, 2021 we called requesting this service. We were told it would be installed on Dec 21, 2021. Republic Services began charging our account on 10-4-21 for this service. 5 months later no locked dumpster. We are having more and more problems with the neighbors filling up our dumpster. Cannot get a human on customer service. Hours wasted calling them.

    Our recycling didn't get picked up on Wednesday so I called around 3:00 PM and they said they have till 6:00 PM to pick it up. At 6:00 PM no one there but of course the office is closed so I have to call them on Thursday let them know. They said, "We will have it schedule to be picked up on Friday." Again at 3:00 nothing picked up. I call them as I am bringing it up again, they say they have till 6:00 PM so please put it back and will schedule it again on Monday. So now they Monday I call them in the morning to make sure they get it. They said, "We will get someone out there right away." I look again at 2:10 PM. I call as I am bring it up and she insist, "Please put it back", they have till 6:00 PM again no pick up. I tell them, "Just tell if you picking it up, if you're not don't make me keep bringing it down." Now I am just going to call Forest Lake tell them to end their service and I am going to end their service.

    I’ve only been using Republic Services for 2 years but I have filed so many missed pickup reports. I’ve called to report missed pick-ups too many times to count. I’m currently going on week #3 of no trash pickup. In short, the trash pick-up service is terrible at best.

    I sold a building in Nov 2021 and informed our representative (Gina) that the sale was in process since Sept 2021. I inquired at that time about the any existing contract to which she replied; "there is no contract and if there was, we wouldn't transfer it. Of course, we would love to earn new owner's business". It is now January 20, 2022, and the dumpsters have yet to be removed from a building our company no longer owns.

    I've made several phone calls and supposedly my case will be escalated, and a "manager" will call me. I have yet to receive a single phone call. Of course, their billing continues. I had my latest phone call today and the representative pulled out an old contract from 2008!! Of course, the "manager" will call me back. I will very likely cancel their service from our other properties and will not consider them for the new portfolio of properties we are acquiring. There is no customer service and no one is trying to resolve the issue and I have a problem with a property we don't even own. Ridiculous customer service.

    Trash man: "John ** " decided to be extremely rude and give attitude on top of LYING about the previous trash pickup. Not only was I threatened and insulted in the end process, he attempted to bring up my work ethic without knowing anything about me, with my mother presented he was disrespectful as hell considering my mother is partially blind. The list goes on, gotta love Republic trash Services... What a joke. While remaining as calm as possible and attempting to diffuse the situation in the end we were STILL stuck with trash, being forced to wait for next week even though said boxes are FILLED with trash.. Considering he's a union worker the company will not even do anything about it, just a slap on the wrist and then they will hug it out, by far terrible POS human being and even more terrible of a company. I'd love to see something happen but at this point it looks like I'll be forced to take legal action.

    My previous trash service was bought out by Republic Services. Ever since republic took over my service has been poor quality at best. Over the last month I have spoken to their call center about missed pickups, I have been assured that my trash would be picked up the next business day and that my issue was escalated and that a supervisor was notified of my issue. I received a text message shortly after my conversation confirming that my pickup was rescheduled for the next business day. It has now been over 3 weeks since my last pickup that is supposed to happen every week. I have called and been added to the next day's pickup 8 times over the last 3 weeks and my dumpsters are still full.

    Extremely dissatisfied with the quality of my service, would not recommend this company. Have tried to get in touch with management for my route and have also asked for a call back. Have not received any call backs after 3 weeks. Requested service cancelation and was told my service rep will have to call me to cancel service and this may take up to three business days.

    We have had their garbage service for over 10 years. In the last 4 months they miss pickups seven times. I have called at least 10 or 12 times with no resolve. I have sent better than eight emails with no response even though I provided my phone number for a call back. I did have a manager. Supposedly the manager call me over a month ago saying he would let me take my hundred plus bags of debris down to their transfer station which is less than 2 mi from my home at no charge. Then all of a sudden he made excuses and then never returned my calls.

    All I've asked them to do is credit me for one month service which was the amount that I paid a garbage company to take away my hundred and some bags of garbage from my two cans. Today after finally getting some young lady on the phone they said OG, "Sorry there's nothing we can do." I told them, "Great like the other 30 out of 68 people on this county Island I will go to waste management. Come get your garbage cans."

    UPDATED 1/26/2022: After my first review, I received a phone call stating the charge would be reversed and the credit would be posted back to my card. The website still shows my account overcharged, without my credit. I no longer have the option to respond to the previous review. I'm hoping this review will resolve it, finally.

    ORIGINAL REVIEW: I canceled service in July 2021 and was told I would receive a check for $43.20 since my account was prepaid. A few months later I called to check on the refund, the agent apologized and said it would be issued soon. In October, I sent a request from the site and received an email back that said they were in the process of issuing my check but needed me to verify my address. In December I called again and was told they had sent the check to give them up to 8 weeks for it to arrive.

    January 2022, they sent an email (automated) letting me know that they charged my credit card that had been on file for my amount due. I called and was told that additional charges had been posted, 7 months late, and it used up all of my $43.20 credit plus had additional charges over that amount. They weren't sure why it took so long but the supervisor thought that is why they never sent the check.. because it takes accounting 7 months or so to figure out a final bill. What a joke. The trash men were really awesome, though.

    On Monday January 11, 2022 I contacted Republic Services to arrange a pick up of a large item, namely a heavy King size mattress that we had removed from my father's premise. I spoke with Debbie who happily accepted my father's $40 payment for the services and gave me a confirmation number of #**. I found out later this is just a confirmation number for the payment and not for the promise of actually doing the work.

    We scheduled the pickup for Thursday January 14th which Is the same day as the trash removal for my father's neighborhood. I was told to place the mattress at the curb next to the Trash bin. I was not given a pickup time but assumed it would occur sometime during normal business hours. Wednesday afternoon I drove to my father's house, which is a 40 mile round trip, to singularly drag this now wet king mattress out to the curb for the next day. My father is 83 and was unable to assist me. I am a healthy 60 year old woman, however this was NOT an easy task. Nonetheless, this was our problem and was worth the trouble to have the mattress taken care of, so it was no longer an eye sore in my father's yard.

    Thursday evening I received a call from my father telling me that the mattress had not been picked up. I set my alarm for 7:30am on Friday morning to call Republic Services to see what had happened. I was told there was a delay but they had NO REASON as to why. I explained the urgency due to a large snow storm in the forecast and we did not want to have to dig it out of several inches of snow. The representative said she was going to place an urgent escalation on the pickup.

    Friday afternoon at 3:30pm my father informed me that no one had yet come to pick it up, so I called right away knowing that the day was almost over and I wanted to make sure someone was still coming. This is where the frustration was peaking because the representatives have no clue as to the ACTUAL status of the pickup. They can not give the customer a local contact, nor will they themselves make an effort to contact anyone local.

    I come to the computer and start researching this company and I start to read all of the terrible reviews that have been given. I see many many reviews for your services in OUR area. I am beyond angry at this point and I tell the representative how it must suck to be in her shoes. I can’t imagine fielding customer service calls all day when you have no way to actually HELP the customer.

    At this point, the regular trash has been picked up and since the trash bin was picked up by the truck and the mattress was being held up by said trash bin, the mattress has now fallen down in front of my father's car and completely blocked him off from getting out of his parking spot. I explained this problem to the representative and Implored with her that I MUST have this mattress picked up today. She assured me that she will have someone contact me. She has no way to give me a local number or contact the truck driver for me to get an ETA. She does tell me that they DO work on Saturdays, so I am thinking there still may be a chance we can get this done before the snow storm.

    I hang up with her, but have no real expectation of a call back. I was correct. It is now Sunday night and the snow is coming down. My father's neighbor has now moved the mattress off the street, but it is now back where I single handedly had to drag it out from on Wednesday night. I am back to square one and my dad is out $40. I had asked both representatives if we could be refunded our money since the pickup was not made as agreed and they said to me “We can cancel the pickup if you want to.” They either were playing stupid or did not understand that I felt like we should have the service for free for the ineffective service we were given.

    I am completely baffled how a national company can have such a complete disregard for the customer, when I explained how important it was to have this done. Most trash removal companies will take one large item like this per week and the price is included in your normal fee. The fact that we paid extra for this service and were totally blown off is unbelievable. Not even the courtesy of a phone call. Why do your representatives take down a contact number?

    I gave this company 3 days to supply the service we paid for, or to hear from someone regarding the reason it was not done. I am now done. I will be the next bad review on the internet. I don’t think it will hurt you, after all, you contract with the community owners and not each individual customer so you are paid regardless and the end user has no choice over who the company hires for trash removal. They just hire the one with the lowest bid. They really scraped the bottom of the barrel with Republic Services that’s for sure.

    Disclaimer- Republics customer service reps are some of the sweetest people I've had the pleasure of speaking to....sadly I have to call them once a week. I've had Republic Trash Services for about 2 months now. I have yet to receive my recycle bin, had to wait two weeks for the first trash bin to arrive and be picked up (I live in a house of 6...trash piles up quickly). When they picked up my trash, they took the bin too! So I had to wait another 2 weeks for trash to be picked up...but they never came to pick it up. Their operations department is incompetent and I have never had issues with any of my other trash services. 1 star for the company, but 5 stars for the customer service (Sheri is the best).

    I’ve been with Republic Service for almost 8 years and within the 8 years. They have been giving me much headaches. There has been too many occasions that they miss pickup for my location. The recent disappointment are dated between 12/21/2021-01/13/2022! My trash has NOT been pick up yet since 12/21/2021!! Every time I call them is the same song and dance. “We’re gonna escalate it and blah blah blah.” I’m definitely canceling the service once my trash is pick up.     There have been several times over the last two to three months I have received early morning automated calls from Republic on the day of my regular pick-up telling me that my trash or recycling will be delayed a day, to include this week’s pickup (Tuesday, January 4, 2022). I called customer service on Thursday, January 6th to let them know that both services had not yet been picked up and I have now resulted in placing any additional accumulating trash on my garage on the floor. The representative informed me that they would escalate the issue and it should be picked up by Friday, 1/7/22. Well, Friday has come and gone and still no pickup. I will be contacting my HOA requesting that the neighborhood switch to a different service since Republic can’t even follow through with their promises.

    My HOA consist of 20 homes that we contract to have our trash and recycling picked up every Wednesday. Consistently Republic will not come as scheduled and pick up the recycle. The trash is picked up as scheduled. They leave trash and nasty liquid down our driveway, but at least they do come. They have missed every Wednesday for the last 7 (seven) weeks picking up our recycling. 2 of those weeks they did not come at all, even after as many as 6 or 7 documented calls to the customer service number and I spoke to many supervisors.

    On the other occasions, I callled 5-8 times, spoke to supervisors and at times would be told the drivers were coming each day, and they would never come. I constantly followed up, and would be told the same thing and after numerous calls and requests for a follow-up call back, the recycle would finally be picked up on the following week (5days late), only to be missed the following week. This continues to happen. I was given a contact number for a representative named Michael ** and a number of **.

    I found that after speaking to Mr. ** once he did something to have his phone during business hours that says the phone is not accepting calls. However today, (when the company is closed due to weather), Mr. ** answered and said the company was closed and I needed to call him tomorrow. I have called and made complaints, and made written complaints without success. I even received an email request for information from the “owner” saying he wanted additional information and would respond. This occurred over 2 weeks ago, and I still haven’t heard anything back.

    This company is the worst and most unprofessional I have seen. The service is actually less than 1 star and the management is the most unprofessional I have ever seen. They are unresponsive, unprofessional, and and a total and complete disgrace. If you contract with Republic, you are definitely setting yourself up for headaches and frustration.

    Several times over the the last 2 months I have received an automated call from Republic on the day of my regular pick-up telling me they would not be picking up my trash this week but I pay for a weekly trash pick-up. When I called customer service to get a credit for my missed pick-up, the representative informed me it wasn't a missed pick-up it was a delayed pick-up and they do not issue credits for that. I pay for a weekly service, if I do not get any service for that week you can call it anything you want, it is still a missed pickup and I should not have to pay for missed service. This is very dishonest word mincing just to steal a couple dollars from every customer on the same route as me! I will contact the State Attorney General to see if a class action lawsuit is feasible because they are systematically stealing from customers. If you don't use Republic, I would advise you to look elsewhere.

    I sold the property in November 2021 and called to Republic service to cancel and to pick up the dumpster on Nov 29. The person on the phone said she could proceed the request then. But I received another email of past due notice for Dec. service. So I emailed to billing dept. and they said I could contact the sales rep to cancel. I didn't know the sales rep then because nobody contacted as rep. before. I called and emailed several times from Dec. 23 but sales rep didn't reply to me. I received another billing email for Jan. 2022 service.

    I think they delayed for some reason of change the company so I attached a copy of closing process document to sales rep email. I am over the 16 years customer since my business started in Denver CO. But they don't respect long time customer. It's very frustrated situation now. SO BAD. Their truck drivers are very good.

Our neighborhood has only has only been picked up 1-2 times per month and currently are going on 3 weeks with no pick up.     During services never a complaint. Even increased billing which was nearly $40 over the last year. But damn me for ending my services, they want to charge me a pick-up fee for their leased containers. I was never informed of fee when I agreed to service - the rep even stated they do not inform the customer of the fee when starting service. They said it's implied by having the services. Run away if you can. If you have options always go with a more local provider, and never ever will I use Republic Services again. I've already filed a BBB complaint, and spending my effort on every review site and social media inform others of this extortion practice.

    I have always paid my bill, in advance, never been late. When I first started, I had issue because I agreed to rent 2 barrels. I sold my house where my trash discontinued was on 12/01. I had called in advance to cancel my service on 12/01. I was paid up through 11/21. They also wanted to charge me 50.00 to pick up their leased barrels (that was a new one). Needless to say I agreed. Worst case I owed them 10 days + 50. I had called the previous week about the dunning letters. They turned me over to collections. I went ahead and paid what I did not owe them, because the more I thought about this, the angrier I got. It was worth extra money for the advertising they bought here.

    Sure, I will probably, get an apology, but don't let it confuse you. It will be an empty apology, but the gangster shake down behavior won't to change. Further I did not live in that house after 12/01, they were the ones that put off picking up their leased barrels, until 12/07 if they didn't get them that is on them, I didn't live there. I hope someone benefits from this story and goes elsewhere. I hope they enjoyed the extra money they got but did not deserve.

    Missed pickups have become a regular occurrence. They often even miss the pickups for the missed pickups. It fluctuates between trash and recycling but at least it is rarely both in the same week. They missed the recycling pickup this week, the week of Christmas, when we will have a lot more things to recycle than usual and scheduled the backup pickup for Monday. Our usual day is Wednesday. The last two years they have raised our bill each cycle which would not be bad if they were consistent. It is very frustrating and it looks like (from other reviews) it is an across the board, company wide issue.

    Since we joined Republic trash and recycling service a few years ago. Their services have become worse and worse. Many times, they miss either the trash or recycling bin. When I called asking for mis-pickup, I was already told they'll be back the next day, but that never happened. We have to wait for another week. This month, after the Thanksgiving holiday, when people would have most stuff to dump, they just skipped the recycling for the whole subdivision for a week. The price kept going up and their services kept going down. Stay away from them if you can.

    I started to read comments in the Nextdoor apps about the company prices. I checked with my neighbor and he was paying $69 for two container. I am single and older but the company wanted $89 for my one receptacle. Additionally, the McDonough office was not responsive to voicemails therefore customer service was null and void. I reached the toll free number finally and the young lady stated I had the best price the company renders. I told her about the McDonough Ga office not being responsive and asked her to annotate it in her computer. The CEO should be informed of the variable pricing; the poor customer service and driver's not picking up trash on scheduled days.

    We left Republic Service for a different residential garbage service. We paid for the remainder of the quarterly costs despite not using the service as required by our Service Agreement. We then received notification of an additional fee for Republic to pick up their garbage can and clean it. There was no documentation other than" required fees" section of the billing statement. Customer Service offered no explanation other than stating they had to send another truck to pick up the can and clean the can. In addition, our service date was on Monday. There was no pick up on the following day or an additional day's pick up to cover the day that was missed. The discount for the missed service day was minimal at best. Customer Service was terse and slightly condescending in their tone when questioned about their fees and poor documentation. Glad to be rid of Republic and would discourage anyone from using their service.

    Republic Services acquired me as a customer when the company I had been with for many years (Curbside Recycling) sold out to them. I was assured by Republic Services at that time that nothing would change with my account. The first few months were fine. Then the rate increases began. I paid my bill immediately upon receiving it each and every month (bill was paid early every month)! I continued to get regular rate increases, without warning (I would find out about the increase when I received my statement). I rarely filled the dumpster and most times, it was not more than a quarter full, however, I continued service for the convenience of having a dumpster.

    Apparently being a good customer was not appreciated; instead they took advantage of me not fussing about the many rate increases and continued to increase the rate until my rate was nearly doubled from what it was originally. At that point I could simply not justify paying nearly $200/month for the convenience of a dumpster (and that is bi-weekly service), so I cancelled my service. I tried anyway. They did not pick up the dumpster. Instead they left it and continued billing me. When an account manager contacted me to investigate the reason for the cancellation, he then offered me a rate of less than one third of what they were currently billing me! If they can offer service for such a great rate, then why was I paying more than 3 times that amount and continuing to have rate hikes? Hmmm...I guess it is a matter of what the customer is willing to pay, not what the rate actually is.

    Anyway, back to ATTEMPTING to cancel service (on an account that is NOT in contract). They continue billing me each month and are insistent that my account is past due! I cancelled service the end of June, at which time my account was current and in good standing. Here we are in December and they continue to insist that I owe them for time AFTER cancelling service! Someone from their collection department asked me for proof that I cancelled (I know, right?), so I forwarded all correspondences to this person. At which point, they need to 'look into the matter' (what??).

    And now, today (over 6 1/2 months after cancelling service), I received an email stating, "Good news, July and August service charges have been reversed and all you owe is the removal fee of $133.10". WOW!! This company must want to leave a horrible impression on their good customers so that they will never consider service with them ever again!! Well, they have succeeded in that!

    I will NEVER resume service with this company ever again and when people in my community reach out on social media, or to me personally, looking for recommendations on local trash service, you bet I will offer my opinion! I really miss Curbside Recycling! They were, hands down, the best! Republic Services continues to make my experience with them bad, 6 months post 'cancellation' with them. I have informed them that if I do not immediately receive a statement reflecting a zero balance, I will be contacting an attorney to continue this nonsense for me. I have NO contract with this company and when I cancelled service with them in June, that should have been the end of this! This company is not interested in keeping customers because they are happy with the service, they figure they will keep customers by not allowing them to leave (which, BTW Waste Management does the same! FYI).

    I STRONGLY recommend avoiding this company! It is simply not worth the aggravation when you no longer want/need their services!!! If you are within the district, I highly recommend Park & Sons for dumpster service. ;) Whatever you do, steer clear of Republic Services!! Just continue reading all the reviews here. Seems this is the consensus across the board! One star is required, however, it is a 0 star rating from me!

You have missed my pick up for three months in a row & "Senior Advisor Telisha" says she can't help with anything which is totally unacceptable.     I have been with Republic for 6 years, since moving up from San Diego to Orange County. There have been multiple missed pickups, usually for recycling. Our pickup day is Wednesday and this week when they didn't pick up that day. I figured, as is sometimes the case, that they would pick up Thursday. By Thursday evening no pick up so I called and the female agent said they would come Friday. Friday at 5:45 pm I called again and spoke to agent Larry who said I was scheduled for that day but, just in case they didn't come, he would schedule me for the next pick up day, Monday. That is only two days before the next cycle, so what is the point?

    I've used Republic for 10-12 years. Service was good up until the last few years. Rate increases had me paying $90-100 a quarter. I called and the service was reduced but has climbed back up. During the last quarter, my trash was not picked up 3 times but my bill was not adjusted. I was actually charged a late fee of $5 because I missed the payment by a few days. I called to cancel service and was informed that I will need to pay for a month of service because the billing cycle ends at the end of the month. I called on the 2nd of the month. I will also have to pay $32.50 to have the trash can picked up. I realize there is a removal fee but this cost is more than the fuel cost for 3 months. Beware of fees if you plan on canceling service and rate adjustments, if you use auto bill pay.

    I do my part which is to pay my bill (Auto Pay) and drag the trash containers out by the street on trash pickup day. I have only been with them for a few months and at least twice they simply do not pick up the trash. They leave it there to be unsightly to me and my neighbors. When I called the first time it happened, I had to wait a week for the next cycle. This last time, the Wednesday before Thanksgiving, they did it again. One time I had a bit more cardboard than the recycle container could handle so I crushed it and wedged it between the two containers so it would not blow away. The drivers picked up what was in the cans but left the extra cardboard on the sidewalk.

    I unfortunately was a Republic Services customer for 4 years before I had enough and went to Waste Management. When I made the decision I wanted to switch, there was no way to close my account online or email someone who could help me. I submitted a help ticket, with the response being to call customer service. However, customer service is only open for very limited hours every day. The customer service phone number is even extremely hard to find (on purpose) on the website.

    I called in twice, got put on hold for 15 minutes both times, and finally submitted a ticket stating I would no longer be a Republic Services customer and for them to pick up their container. They responded and confirmed my account would be closed out at the end of my already paid service period. However, 2 months later, I got a bill for $50 to pick up my container that I rented for 4 years. It was a container that they had broken and had not fixed. Unfortunately nowhere in the contract does it state what amount will be charged to pick up the container. A charge of $15 or $20 would be reasonable, however, they could charge $1,000 should they want to. I will never be a Republic Services customer again and will make sure to pass on the terrible experience I had with friends and family.

    It has been a few months since Republic finished their acquisition of my previous waste management provider, Randy's Sanitation, and it has gone less than smooth recently. A couple of months ago, Republic switched my account from Randy's billing system to Republic's billing system and the bill went up $120! There was no notice or warning of either the switch in billing systems or the increase. So I called into Customer Service four times over the past 2 months to try and inform them that I had negotiated a new agreement with Randy's shortly before their acquisition and that they needed to correct their billing or give me proper notice that they would no longer honor the agreement I had with Randy's.

    The first 3 times I was referred to a person/department who was handling all the Randy's commercial clients but that number was disconnected and the call ended each time they transferred me there. I called for a 4th time today and was basically told that I have 60 days to get the account caught up (I continued to pay the price I agreed to with Randy's) or my service would be suspended. There was no interest on the customer service reps part in trying to figure out if they would honor my agreement with Randy's or give me notice to end their service for my business. So I will begin the search for a new waste management company as it appears that Republic has no interest in keeping me as their customer.

    We had Republic Service for our residential garbage pickup for many years, the weekly haulers were always on time, professional, and courteous. The problem arose when I decided to cancel service and go with a competitor. It seemed that every year the price for weekly service increased and only by signing two year contracts, would Republic lock us into a lower quarterly price.

    At time of cancellation I was told that a $30 fee would be assessed to retrieve the garbage container. What they didn't tell me was that an additional $26 in environmental fees would also be deducted from my refund. So after cancelling 2 weeks into a 13 week quarter I received a $23.99 credit 3 months later on a $95 bill. These are exorbitant fees charged at time of cancellation that are not entirely disclosed to their clients. Although I did not have a bad experience over many years with their service, the hassle to receive a refund after calling five times for a billing explanation over 3 months has left me with a very poor impression of this company, which I will share with anyone who cares to listen.

    I had service established with the company two years ago for commercial office building in Scottsdale. The monthly charges was about $98 total. I placed the account on autopay only to find today that the company has been charging me $182 monthly. I knew it's a mistake and I called to have it fixed, the billing rep. apologized and stated he can not refund, but he can lower it again going forward. He emailed me immediately what he called an acceptance for the lower rate, but in fact it was a three year contract. The sales rep. who established that account for me two years ago called me later and tried to do the same thing without telling me that it is a three year contract until I asked him. When I told him that I'll not sign a new contract, his response was "this is the only way I can help you". It is clear that this is the way this company ripoff customers, and they train their sales reps and billing department to trick clients, be deceptive and dishonest.

    I have been with Republic for years, even after having a ton of issues. It took them 3 months in the beginning to get my pickup day right and actually show up to get the trash. They always throw my cans on the ground or leave the lids open and let them fill up with rain water. Never once have they even attempted to close the lids. My bill has increased from $33 to $60 in just a little over a year. They have no cap on their "gas fee", everyone in my neighborhood has stopped using them, it's like they are charging me more for gas just because no one wants to do business with them anymore.

    I called to cancel and they are charging me $100 fee to come pick up 2 cans. RIDICULOUS. Their "financial disclosures" pays basically allows them to choose their own rates for literally anything they want. Their fees aren't listed for a reason because they decide what you are going to pay and change it whenever they want. It's outrageous that this company treats customers like this when they are losing them at an alarming rate. Punishing your loyal customers for your poor customer retention is not the way to do business. NEVER AGAIN.

    Service was fine with Allied. Then Republic took over and it was no less than agonizing for like 5 years until we finally got rid of them. They continually didn't pick up our trash and recycling. I would call for missed pick up and be told they would come out next day or some other day and 90% of the time, it was lip service. I would then call for credits. When I ended service, I had 50.00 in credit due me from a 3 month period of missed pickups. To my surprise they charged me 30. to pick up the barrels. That was not disclosed when we started service. Almost always after a holiday no pick up. I estimate they didn't pick up our trash 15-20 times a year. I tried to get better service from them but when we got new neighbors after no one living there for a year we both decided to go with a company out of Rehoboth and they are great. No more torture from Republic Services. Do not get their service. You will be sorry!

The garbage would never be picked up until the following week. I was told when I cancelled my service, the container would be picked up on 11/8, no pickup, was told the issue would be escalated and picked up on 11/9, guess what, no pickup, called and now they are saying it will be picked up on 11/17, I am beyond LIVID.     If there was a rating for less than 1 star, thats what I would give Republic Services. This is the second bad experience I have had with them. They purchased my existing trash service I immediately canceled before the offical takeover date. They starting sending me bills for a months service (I never signed any sort of agreement with the old company OR with RS) . I notified them and told them I canceled and I didnt owe them anything, they continued to harass me for 40.00 Now they turned me over to collections. I plan to file a complaint now with the BBB and dept of consumer affairs. Just beware... they will make it hard to cancel, and if you do, they will charge you with crazy fees. How do they stay in business?!

    I'm done with these guys. No trash pickup for 3 weeks. No way to get local response or resolution. I called the local customer support number and I'm talking to some lady in North Carolina; meanwhile, here in Central Mass. I've got a full bin out there and I'm waiting for the bears to start coming by. Called last week - no response. Called yesterday (my pickup day) and left my phone number. No call and no pickup. Made my third call in a week today and the best they can do is alert someone local "in the system". They don't have local phone numbers for the location that is 12 minutes from my house. They are too big and too bloated to be able to offer local response. This is simple stuff - they're supposed to pick up my trash, and then I pay them every month. They can't even do that well.

    I pay Republic Services quarterly for trash pickup. They are scheduled to come every Friday. In the past 2 months they have called every week to delay the pickup due to manpower issues. Every other week they keep delaying the pickup until the next scheduled pickup date. In the last 8 weeks, my trash has been picked up 4 times. I called each time but the wait time is extremely extensive and I never got through (over 1 hour wait). I live on a country road so I could not leave bags of trash piled up due to animals tearing into it. Customer service rep "Heather" stated it was my fault for not waiting on the line and reporting it each week. I tried to explain that it wasn't a miss pickup and that it was a known delay that extended to the next week. I had to take care of the overflow trash myself due to living on a country road and animals getting into what could not fit in the 2 trash cans I pay for.

    Heather stated they are fulfilling their obligation because they picked up the trash that was missed the previous week on the next scheduled pickup date. I asked to speak to a manager and reach Shaneta who stated the same thing. Shaneta gave me a credit for $26.47 and stated it was a system generated rate. I pay $171.95 for 3 months. That is $14.33 per week and I should receive a credit for $57.31. Shaneta stated the case number is #**. I was very calm with Shaneta and Heather however, both laughed at me and stated that I am responsible for the loss because I did not call each time. I could not get them to understand that Republic reached out to me and informed me of the delay and ultimately cancelled pickup date. I want Republic Services to credit my account for the full $57.31 and credit me each time they fail to pick up my trash per the agreement.

    Please be careful with the bill payment. The company increased my bill after 1 year without notice from $130 for the first month until $196. I tried to contact them by many times phone but they had more than 30 minutes waiting period. Finally, I talked with the customer service then left the note but nobody called me back about the issue. I called them more than 3 times about the payment but nobody answer my question and keep sending the bill. After 2 months, I sent an email to customer service after I paid $168 and $196 bills.

    She said I have to send the cancelation mail to the office. That was really bad service but that wasn't the most horrible from the company. I mailed to the company and wait about 3 weeks but no one reply. After that, I sent the email again and talk with the manager, he still want me to pay for the service or pay a $1,200 fee for early cancelation. No one apologizes or feels guilty about the problem. So, don't set up the auto-pay with this company and be careful with the bill. They try to take your money without notice.

    Caveat Emptor, buyer beware when moving and closing the account. They charge $30 per container (refuse & recycle) plus fees for fuel surcharge and administrative. The total is over $90 for picking up the containers. We were in a gated community with easy access and the container's conditions are like they were when originally dropped off. Their competition picks up the containers at no or very little cost. Lesson learned and will never use this service nor recommend it ever again. Unfortunately, I am not able to rate with negative stars or would do so. Do yourself a favor and contact their competition.

    We use Republic Services for our Garbage/recycling. We did not receive a trash pick up after the Labor day holiday until the following week. There have also been 2 occurrences that our recycling has not been picked up. We should have had our recycling picked up on November 15 and as of today (November 26) it has not been picked up. We cancelled service last week when we called Customer Service to report that our recycling was not picked up but they didn't seem to care! We were then told we would be charged 30.00 per container (60.00 total) for them to come and pick up their containers after cancelling service.

    I am a snowbird and I put my garbage pickup on seasonal hold each year, I am only in Florida for 4 to 5 months a year and since this company only allows 6 month hold I have to pay for 1 to 2 month services when I am not there, I called and had to cancel my services in order to avoid paying the extra months.

    I started using Republic Service's approx a year ago, I believe towards the end of September of 2020 for garbage and recycle curbside pickup, I guess it's Law that everyone receive a recycle bin {so they can turn it in and make more money off their customers}. I pay them by the week, automatically through my bank. Since having to use their service because that is the only one available in Contra Costa County Antioch, California, I have had to call their main office to report "Missed PickUp" practically every month, sometimes every week! I receive a recorded message that they are sorry for the delay and they would be picking up the garbage by 6 pm the next day, Never Have They Ever Showed Up on their promise!

    I put all my garbage in the larger black trash bags to keep it cleaner and make it easier for the garbage collection and keep from getting bugs or rodents and let's not forget odor right? Recently the collector came down to get my garbage and due to being the Laziest Employee Ever, he shoved a bag into the recycle bin, threw a garden hose [the ones that shrink when not in use] and was pretty small on the ground took one bag and left everything else! There have been times where he left the bags on the ground, thinking that was pretty low, but to shove one of them inside the other bin and good and tight was about the laziest and lowest that he could do, and to make the recycle collector think I may have done this? Nooo!

    Well out of approximately a year of service there has been maybe ONE month of service where things garbage was picked up every week. Complaining does NOTHING and I mean NOTHING!!! They can apologize all they want to but an apology means nothing if you don't do anything to change it or to positively make a change so there is no reason to apologize!

    I told the office rep that since I pay my bill by every week. I want a refund for all the missed service I've had since day one! One person said, "I don't blame you and will get that for you," should I be laughing now or in tears for wasting so much money on something that never was? This company is more of a sham than anything. They hire the laziest garbage guys in the world, and these guys on average make approx $25 hour? dayuuuuum!     Oh I forgot, when I spoke to someone on Oct 15, 2021 in regards to the "missed pickup" and said that now there are more bags... she interrupted me trying to tell me that for more bags I would need to schedule a pickup and that would be an extra fee? Which I was trying to interrupt her, finally she stopped talking to hear me ask? "Ohhhh you obliviously think that them missing a week or two or three that the bags of garbage are going to magically disappear?" She replied, "Oh I never said we'd charge you", but, woooo pull'em back!!! I pay for a service to be picked up Weekly, if they don't pick up then they add up, get this picked up. {I'm sure anyone reading this should know, yes there were words I couldn't put on here for obvious reasons.}

    I've read some of these reviews and noticed that they were from different states, wow, that's amazing that it's just what they are becoming known for, from everywhere! Now if in fact, I come back to read a reply that says "I'm sorry that your experience was bad..." Well again, Know that there comes another apology that won't hold up and to ask to Privately speak to them, Hell NO, everyone deserves to read what Republic Service has to say! The last call before I left the house stated that I wanted this gone today and I didn't want to see the ** when I got home... Well guess what, and SURPRISE!!! GARBAGE IS STILL OVERFLOWING IN MY GARBAGE CANS!

    There needs to be an alternate garbage service because Republic Services should be banned from having a business license, they do nothing about their employee's no repercussions for bad work, no refunds as of yet to customers who have paid and not received the service, all and all I feel that they are Liars, Cheaters taking the money of the consumers and not delivering the proper services as they state they will! Hmmm, Isn't that considered Fraud in some way? False Advertisement? That one is true especially if it's happening in many of the other states! Giving a single star is far more than they deserve!

    I called in to get a quote since the trash service I was using canceled my route. The first quote I got was $99 for quarterly plus bin drop off fees and initial charges. I asked if they had a military service rate and was they said they could drop my rate to $87 for 3 months. I told them I would call back after reviewing prices with my wife.

    When I called back the a few days later they said my quote was $97 for the quarterly bill. I said that my original quote was lower and I was told they didn't offer military service rates. I asked to speak to a supervisor and was put on hold for 30 minutes. Once the supervisor came on I explained the situation and she said she would transfer me to another department to help get this taken care of. After another amount of time on hold I was told that my rate for my location and being a new customer would be $300. This of course took me completely off guard and I asked to speak to the supervisor again. I was told they would call me back and I never heard from them.

    I tried calling again to see if I could get another quote. Since it seemed weird I would be quoted so low and then to have a triple price increase. Once again I was given a price for a bit more at $99. I could hear the rep reading about my last couple of calls, and was sent to a complaint department. I was basically told that's the rate and there is nothing they can do. The lady sounded annoyed and didn't seem to care to try and help otherwise, basically I was sent to the tough customer department where I'm just told to deal with it. Looking over reviews here and with my experience. It would take a lot for me to even bother with this company, even though it's the only company to offer services in my area.

    We switched to Republic Services 10/2020 as they were cheaper than the company we were previously using. They charge $75 (or did at the time) to drop of trash cans so I picked them up myself - this should have been my first warning. The first few months were ok, just a few missed pickups. 9 months in to the service, they increased my rates by $20 with no warning - just got an invoice with the new amount. Then, after almost a month where they "were unexpectedly delayed" and didn't pick up trash/recycling, I called to cancel. I was told my service would end 9/30 and my containers would be picked up 10/4. Containers weren't picked up until 10/12 and I then received an invoice for $87 - just for the container pick up.

    Nothing was said about this charge when I called to cancel and when I called to ask about the invoice - was told yep, that's what it is, you have to pay it. Neither the trash company I was with previously or the company I am with now charges for this service. Additionally, if they were behind, and more trash/recycling had accumulated than would fit in the bins, they didn't pick it up unless it was in the bins. I'm happy I canceled this contract.

    We have had trash pickup issues the last 5 weeks. One week it wasn’t even picked up at all. No call about issues or anything. Twice it was picked up a day later. The last time it was collected the driver was late. And as he pulled up, one of his rear wheels was smoking and on fire. I said something to him and he just looked at me and drove on. Called customer service and spoke to someone in customer relations. She took down my address and said, "Is that it sir, I’ll let the driver’s supervisor know." She couldn’t wait to get me off the phone. She asked again was there anything else I needed. I said no, and she just hung up on me. These people are absolutely terrible. Their prices are always going up and their quality of service keeps going down. They used to be a very reliable and courteous company. Not anymore. You should be ashamed of yourselves Republic Services.

    A scheduled trash pickup was missed. Two weeks, 9 phone calls, and 3 online requests later, and the bins still sit out in the street, taking up parking space. When I call them, they "escalate" my request to management, saying that I'll be contacted. Out of the 9 calls, I was contacted 3 times. Each time, I was promised that my bins would be picked up the next day. When I called yesterday, I was told that my case had been closed; however, when I got home, the bins were still where I'd put them.

    Republic Services has got to be the very worst trash collection service on planet Earth. Republic has continued to miss collection on scheduled days. As of the writing, my trash has not been collected in four weeks and my account is automatically paid on time each month. Even after multiple calls to customer service (located out-of-state), and many promises to make things right, Republic continues to fail miserably. I have never dealt with so many inept people.     Updated on 10/19/2021: I cancelled their service on October 6. They withdrew 247.36 out of my bank account on October 13. I had called them twice to make sure they were not charging me for October through December service since I cancelled them. Both times they said I did not owe them anything and I was actually getting a check in the mail for a 13.00 credit. Then they take 247.36 out of my bank. So now tomorrow I have to call these idiots to get them to refund my money. I am so sick of this company. Anyone looking around for a garbage company, go with anyone else!

    Original Review: A couple of years ago they didn't pick up my trash. I called and they said that they had redone their routes and somewhere in the process they dropped our house off all the routes. So they said to put all the trash (the bin and any extra bags) out next week. They said they wouldn't charge for the extra bags, which they didn't. But why even say that? Obviously, I wouldn't expect to pay for the "extra bags" which is last week's trash you didn't pick up.

    Now again they didn't pick up our trash last Wednesday. I emailed Thursday and received no response so I called customer service Friday afternoon. They said a pick-up was scheduled for Monday. They should have sent an email telling me they had received my email and the pick-up was scheduled. However, Monday comes and the trash was not picked up. I guess I'll be calling them tomorrow. If you have a choice where you live of trash service, I would choose someone else. They don't seem to care if they actually pick the trash up or not. They never forget to take the payment out of my bank account though.

    Had a great experience with Republic Services. I had a missed pick up which I understand can happen but we had family over and really needed our bins empty. From the first time I called they seemed to make it a priority which was good. The very first rep I talked to got some information mixed up, no big deal but the second rep got me in contact with a supervisor who was very understanding and she sent an email to my city of Palm Bay. A gentleman called not 20 minutes later. He apologized and assured my bins would be emptied on Saturday which was perfectly fine. They were here early and even put my bins up for me. I've been in the service industry for 15 years and I have to say I am impressed and I'm also very thankful. I only wish I would've got there names so I could put them on here.

    I called for a quote for commercial trash service and was sent half of the proposal without an explanation of charges. I called back the next day to get clarification of the charges that appeared on the proposal and was on hold for at least 30 minutes before somebody answered the phone. Once a live agent answered the phone, she mumbled the company greeting with a tone that sounded like "why are you bothering me". I explained the nature of my call and asked if she could help me. She said "what don't you understand" in a tone that was like a mother scolding her child. I explained that my proposal was not complete and that I didn't understand the abbreviations used for the charges as they were never discussed during my initial call. She went on to mumble each charge using the same "trash company" terminology that was on the proposal. When I asked her to define the trash company's terminology without the attitude and to enunciate her words so I could understand what she was saying, she immediately became argumentative and disconnected the call.

    I had to call back and wait another 30 minutes for my call to be answered to get the answers I needed to understand the proposal. The wait time is bad enough. That coupled with a very rude employee was enough for me to decide on another more expensive trash service for the business. I don't mind paying more for good service. I would not recommend Republic Services based on their lack of customer service even before you are a customer. It only gets worse once you become a customer under contract.

    Rented dumpster a little over a week in advance. Scheduled for dumpster to be dropped on 9/23. Had the drop date one day early so that the dumpster would be available first thing in the morning of 9/24 a Friday, with intent of being able to utilize it all weekend. Was promised by two separate Republic representatives when I called that it would be delivered 9/24. Still hasn't been delivered, now stuck waiting till Monday. Losing money having to wait.     My trash has not been picked up in eight days. Last week was a Holiday so I thought my pick up would be delayed one day. Friday is my normal pickup day so I thought Monday at the latest. I came home Monday and the trash was still sitting in front of my house. I called "customer service" and was told it would be picked up on Tuesday. I came home Tuesday and the trash was still in front of the house. I called and again (keep in mind that I was on hold thirty plus minutes every time I called.) I was told that it would be picked up on Wednesday and that the issue would be escalated to the Operations Manager. Great I thought! My trash would surly be picked up on Thursday. Big Surprise! Came home Thursday and the trash was still there.

    I once again called "customer service" and was told that my trash would be picked up on Friday. This is my normal pick up day. Guess what? Trash is still on my curb. I again called "customer service" and was told that it would be picked up on Tuesday! So eight days later my trash would be picked up. I will cancel my account with Republic Services for my residential service but also for the seven stores that I use for trash and recycling needs! Good Job! Republic Services! You just lost eight accounts. I understand being understaffed with Covid and all the Craziness going on in the world but don't tell your customers that you will pickup the next day four times in a week and you do not deliver.

    Absolutely disgusting service - would give a negative 10 if could. We canceled our service due to price increase without notice and found new service for half the cost. We were then billed again for the next month - CS said they were deleting the charge - then we were billed for the can pickup which we were not advised of. CS agreed after lengthy argument to delete this charge as well. 2 months later we’ve received notice that we are being turned over to collections for non payment. We’ve paid it because it’s just no longer worth arguing about it.

    I was out of town for a few weeks, while I was, I sent in my payment, when I returned home I received a notice, in the mail, that stated automatically my trash was on hold, you did not even need to pick it up during the 2 weeks I was gone 1st of all, 2nd of all you said it was late,? There is no services that can automatically stop service for a late payment, phone, electric, gas etc. They always send out a notice that it was late as required and add a small $5 fee, they do not just stop service after 25 years using your company. This is very sad. They are not held to the same rules as other municipalities are. I am also making a complaint to my attorney general's office. This $35 fee is pure taking money from the consumer especially since you received my payment already and you say it was on hold, because it was late? This again after 25 years as a customer.

    Really a bad actor in the trash collection business. Over and over, they miss the once-a-week collection of trash and recycle and never make it up despite numerous calls to them and promises from their polite but clueless customer service people. They also quit emailing and calling when holiday schedules may interrupt our service. There is a disconnect between CS and operations. Avoid these guys!

    If I could give this company -5 Rating, I would. I live in Arvada Colorado and was forced to sign up for Republic because waste management no longer serviced my city. I signed up at the end of July paid a deposit and have never received trash receptacles or service. I have called no less than six times to complain and was told by customer service that somebody would be over right away to pick up my trash or to stick my bags out on the trash day and they would pick up the bags on the street. I have yet to have service. Customer service tells you what you want to hear to get you off the phone. Every time I call, they tell me they are going to call national (haha) And have someone pick up our trash. Very unfortunate that they are the trash company that Arvada Selected. I Would love to cancel this service or lack thereof. I don’t know where else to turn.

    I use them for commercial trash pick up. I am really unhappy with the overall service. They will keep going up on monthly bills even you have a contracted price. They will charge you $80 per pick-up if a little bit of trash is over the top of the container. They will make use of sign a 3 to 5-year contract but no price estimate. They will go up as they wish on monthly billing. You have no way to get out. STAY AWAY!!

    Called in to rent dumpster in June. Signed contract, paid and provided requested delivery and pickup date. Pickup date was July 8th. 2021. Dumpster is still sitting in driveway.     Contacted Republic Services when we moved to our new home toward the end of June 2021 and paid a $50 deposit. Two weeks after we were PROMISED containers, they finally came. The same day that the container was delivered, I cancelled as I wish not to do business with a company that doesn't hold up their end of the bargain. Three times I called to cancel. Finally, maybe, the third time the CSR made note of it. I was told three times that I would receive my $50 deposit back. Took two weeks for Republic to collect the container. Not once did they remove our trash, not once. I received a bill in the amount of $82 which I was forced to pay "after further review," and, of course, my $50 deposit was not returned. Not once did they remove our trash, not once.

    Now I receive a credit invoice for $21.18. I, once again, call Republic and am told I will receive a refund check in the amount of $21.18 in four to five weeks. I have the gut feeling that dealing with Republic Services is not over. I do not want their service. I never received their service. THIS NEEDS TO END NOW! I wish Republic much success on their fraudulent business practices.

    Our city contracts with Republic Services for refuse collection. Their drivers occasionally neglect to pick up our garbage.     Just had my garbage picked up and the truck took the trash bin with them. I called customer service and the soonest they can bring it back is in 7 days. They told me I could leave the garbage bags out by the road. I have lived in the country for 30 years. Every Dog, Cat, Coyote, Raccoon, Opossum, and all other critters in Michigan will have that spread all over the road, my yard, my neighbors' yards and fields. I explained this to the customer service Rep, and was basically told that is as good as they can do. I explained that this was their error and his reply was, "Well I am reading our policy and we won't charge you for the new bin." My reply was, "Why would you! It was your error." These people know nothing about customer service. Just there collecting your money.

    In July, we had only one pickup! Called/reported on-line. Given excuse of short staffed. We cancelled end of July & relayed that we would not pay for July (due date for new quarter was 7/10). Warning: take pictures of missed pickups. Their system will show pickups. Still expected to pay. No apologies ever given. They have an "Oh, well" attitude. Very poor customer service!!

    We have been faithful customers of Republic Services for 10 years, but no more. Something has changed and we no longer can depend on them. They've missed many trash pickups over the last 2 years, and never notified us of why. We filed numerous "missed pick up" complaints. Sometimes, they might wander by to do the pick up, sometimes not. Even their website and phone system is frustrating. Finally, we've had enough. For a business that does 9.4 billion in revenue, they're not getting any more of my money. We just switched to Ambrose.

    In the last 5 months, we have experienced 7 missed pick-ups. One lasted for three weeks and no one picked up the trash. Although the customer service team is nice and wants to help out, their promises are not worth a penny. Every time I have called they promised to pick the trash by the next business day and it never happened. When you call customer service, you can not find anyone with authority to get the job done. When you finally hear from someone after repeated calls, and being on hold for 30-45 min, he or she feeds you the same lies and empty apologies that the last one offered. After all the missed pick-ups, they have not adjusted my bill and still requesting full rate and full payment.

    Imagine, if they do not pick up the trash for weeks while there is only one pick up per week, how that could affect your monthly payment. I am sure no one is looking for bill adjustment, everyone wants reliable service and not to call every other week to report a missed pick up. This is the worst company to deal with. It is obvious that they do not care about their customers and their 1.7 rating says a lot. We also had an odd experience with the street crew once. After reporting a missed pick up, one of them showed up at my door and was asking us why were we making trouble for them and calling the office to report a missed pick up. They do not provide the service that you pay for and if you complain, they will show up at your door. Does this remind you of something... I hope someone with a bit of authority and commitment to his and her job reads this review and actually does something about it.

    I have never gone out of my way to write a negative review about a company, as nothing has really hindered, and or, complicated my life is such a massive way. We recently moved to a new neighborhood a few months ago and had to hire a waste removal service, unfortunately we choose this company. They have missed pickups every single week, we have had to spend hours on the phone with them to correct the issue every single week, and yet they keep missing pickups.

    We have been told many times that we will not be credited for anything, been given excuse as to why they are able to keep taking our money while not abiding to their end of the contract, and have to spend hours on the phone with them. It has gotten so bad that we have hired a legal team to recover all the fines we have had to pay to our HOA, hours away from work, and health issue caused by having rotting waste sitting in the hot sun and in the garage (as we have to take in every night they don't pick it up so not to have it sitting out in the neighborhood). Look, I write this so NO ONE has to go through this terrible experience with such a terrible company. I wish you all the best, but if this company came up in your search for waste removal, I really hope this saves you a lot of trouble.

    I have lived in my home for 20 years and received reliable service 99% of the time. Lately my bin service has been oops, maybe tomorrow or the day after that. Doesn't matter if it is the trash bin, the recycle bin or the yard waste bin. I totally understand that problems arise, but this shoddy service has become the norm. I would like to know what has happened. Is there a problem because of Covid, or a shortage of personnel, or mechanical issues with the haulers. Just leaving us week after week with the worst service I have ever seen is not making things any better. Tell us what issue is causing the problem. If we can't help, at least we could be understanding about the missed pick ups.

    Highly Unreliable company. I scheduled a bulk pick up. They are not picking it up. They say they don't see it on your system. Customer support is also useless. One customer support schedules the pickup and another cancels. They are highly unreliable, false and fraud company.

    I called in May 2021 to ask the charges for trash pickup. Was told by "Quiana" that the charge would be $80.84 per quarter + $12 for recycling. Based on her representation, I began service with them in June. To my disgust, the actual bills I received have been much, much higher including undisclosed monthly "Administrative Fee" of $5.95 and "Total Fuel/Environmental Recovery Fee" ranging from $22.06 up to $27.34. To add insult to injury, the monthly trash collection fees are $57, which is $171, NOT the $92.84 I was told initially. They also charged undisclosed "container delivery" fees of $36.50 x 2 = $73 total. This company is a complete ripoff. I would never have started service with them had I known they were lying about what they charge. I'm going to try to go back to my old trash company ASAP and cancel with this disgusting scam outfit.

    I never write bad reviews. But I have said that I am so frustrated on how they are doing their services. I am a restaurant owner. I got a lot of trash if they missed one pick up. I called first time and they said will send someone out, but I waited, no show. I called second time during my usual schedule pick up day, and they did not show up. I called third time, they said the driver still have time to pick up the trash at the area, I waited and no one show up. The trash area smells so awful now. Some nearby residents people have come to complaint about the bad smell. I am so disappointed on how they not doing their job. I pay my monthly bill without any delay. When they charged me over floating of trash, I paid without any complaints. Now they are doing this to me. I am so disappointed and very angry as well.

    I Have been living in my new townhome for only a month and Republic Services has missed 3 recycling pick ups in the first month I have been here. I did not report the first pick up thinking perhaps I had made the mistake. However, once I had confirmed that I was correct about the pickup days I started reporting the missed pick ups. Each time I called to report the missing pickup I was on hold for a minimum of 10 minutes. I was auto prompted for a call back only after a 10 minute hold time. Since I am new to Republic Services I now see it as a gamble whether or not my recycling or trash will be picked up when I get home from work.

    Updated on 08/17/2021: As per previous told that "Within 24 hrs. would receive call from Supervisor" and 4 days later called and told that the case was closed "nothing can do except a call from Billing Dept. with 72 hrs." to discuss how to resolve. 2 weeks later NO Return call and $2 rebate from Overcharge and an email message that they would not accept email stoppage when was CALLED to stop and more than 3 weeks earlier. After Call for Stoppage:

    1. Received Phone Call for Future Bill and Fees along with "Late Fee" told to ignore as computer "glitch"
    2. Received Paper Bill with "Late Fees" and Service charges told to ignore
    3. Received Email that do not accept online stoppage despite was done on Phone
    4. Told Supervisor would call in 24 hrs. to correct - NONE received in 4 days

    5. Told Billing dept. would call within 72 hrs. and none received in 2 weeks

    $30 per container just to remove ($90) but would "only charge for 2" but yet paid $98 dollars TOTAL as kept prior credit of $36 with additional $62. No Response and NO Communication as to reasonable resolution. 0 Stars for Cost Communication and fair commitment to customers.

    Original Review: Republic Bought out prior Garbage service in 2005 and customer for over 16 years (by default). Many options to change over years but Loyal as overall Service Acceptable and others have many same issues. Due to recent and ongoing Price increases and FEES more FEES became time to change. Stop Service notice made.

    1. Had prior $36 Cr due to overcharge. 2. Unable to even come close to neighbors' Local and consistent provider. 3. Completed paid in full contract and Stop service to pick up containers. 4. Called to assure Cr Paid back and inquire PickUp for 3 containers as heard outrageous "pick-up" charges $30 EACH + Multiple Fuel recovery + Environmental and other FEES to total of $125 to pick up THEIR CONTAINERS. Unable to verify cost and told that only "worry about it" if get a bill. GOT A BILL but not for Removal but for next 3 future months with no mention of Containers (Had Stopped Service by direct phone).

    Called to update Cr return and removal container and received PHONE MESSAGE that overdue Payment with LATE FEE. NEVER received initial bill for containers and when discussed with agent stated owed $125 dollars (minus 36 CR) AND OWED 98$ more. Reviewed that never been contacted and that removal for $125 was outrageous and mostly meant to deter frequent changes and competition but regardless 3x $30 should not equal $125. Agent then stated that could remove 1 charge but ONLY if paid NOW and by credit card otherwise would not be available ie Coercion to close account.

    Charged $62 additional to 36 Cr for Total of $98. SO 3x $30 minus 1 container credit =$98 -Really. Followup told that this was "UNFORTUNATE" and a supervisor would call within 24 hours to rectify and discuss options. In the interim received phone call that OVERDUE with LATE FEE (ignored as figured was just delay in billing update) but then 2 days later receive NEW BILL for $93 and Late Fee. Each call to Republic has MINIMUM of 20-30 minute on Hold (Max 45 min). Coercion "now or never" to get "Closed" is unacceptable for Service.

    Final Cost for $90 bill to remove containers supposed reduced by $30 was $98 dollars. In addition, received 2 inappropriate bills with LATE FEES. Lastly, on line now $2 credit as CREDIT CARD OVER BILL for coerced payment. NO FOLLOWUP CALL as promised at 24 hrs. Called 3 days later and told that now closed and " DO NOT WORRY" about Phone and Written Bills as Account closed with $2 Overcharge Credit to be sent back and "Nothing else we can do!"

    BOTTOM LINE. Hidden and Outrageous FEE charges to stop service when all normal services paid in advance. Billing and communication not in sync with FEES and CHARGES just added on and received NEW Phone and Written Bills that were all closed or prior stopped. (JUST IGNORE. IT'S THE COMPUTER'S FAULT!) Promises made and NOT KEPT to discuss. Major contention is that coerced to Pay now or Never by Card over Phone and "deal" resulted in paying nearly $100- 62 plus 36Cr for reduced 2 container removal of "$30 each". Then sent multiple Bills with Late fees that I should just ignore. Then told $2 Card overcharge that will be credited (Maybe).

    Poor Service. Poor Communication. Poor Resolution with OVERPAY and now told closed so "too bad". Will make final evaluations based on promised followup and reasonable resolution. Stop service should be transparent and straightforward/reasonable especially for long established customers (REFUND of at least $30 should be completed) - Still over $60 to just pick up their containers but would be in line with "negotiated" not coerced payment option.     Service started 7/12 for twice weekly; missed all six of the first six. Then 30 minutes on hold each time to call about the missed pick up. Sixth one was promised it would be picked up next day AND THEY MISSED THAT TOO. I've never seen such horrible service. DO NOT USE THEM.

    We’re part of a 4-neighbor group who are supposed to share and pay equally in a Republic Services dumpster. We’ve never signed a contract, and our bill has gone up significantly over the years – to nearly $100 a month. However, we recently found out that one of the neighbors (who originally signed a contract with Republic Services) is apparently only getting billed $26.00 per month. Regular garbage service is cheaper than $100 a month, so we’ve tried numerous times to discontinue billing and service with Republic.

    When we can actually get Republic Services to contact us, which is almost never, we’re given ridiculous excuses such as we have to sign a contract to get them to discontinue service, or that they’re simply not going to cancel the billing or service, period. Wait…what? I’ve never heard of a company refusing to cancel or discontinue service after a customer has requested cancellation. I contacted Republic Services via Facebook over a month ago and keep getting told that they will help get this resolved & will have someone from their sales team “reach out” to us, but no one has contacted us, nothing has been resolved, and we’re still getting billed. Total scam.

    Over the last 5 years they have continually raised rates with no notice or explanation and often miss pickups. They missed the first May pickup for my home and after seeing the invoice for the next 3 months had gone up again, I cancelled the service and switched to their competitor which was literally half the price. However despite the fact that the invoice was to prepay for the next 3 months, and they never serviced my home during May, June or July, they are still stacking on late fees, threatening to hit my credit score and turn things over to collections for prepaid services I never accepted and they never provided. On the phone, their support said they'd reduce the charge just to cover the first week of May and they would remove the late fees but unsurprisingly they lied and are still trying to charge me nearly $70 for services they never provided.

    I have been with this company only 2 months with a weekly pick up which they have missed picking up my trash 4 times. They have yet to give me credit for the pay missed not to include this past week Friday. My husband called the company today and they promised my trash would be picked up which was not. We have yet to receive a call from a manager with any type of explanation. I would not recommend this company to my worse enemy...STAY AWAY.

    I've experienced bad services, everyone has. I never write a negative review because I don't want to interfere with anyone's livelihood. However, I can't stand by and let anyone pay for a service that they will not receive. They overcharge- you can pay half the price and ACTUALLY get your trash/recyclables taken out for half the price at Waste Management. We've had Waste Management for a week, and they took the recyclables when they said they would- something that never happened at Republic Service, even when I called them twice after. If you cancel, Republic Service will ask you to clean the bins and pay them $60. We have our last recyclable/trash day with them, and of course, they aren't here when they said they would be.

    We have been loyal customers of "Republic waste services" for over 27 years and recently, in speaking with neighbors, we found out that we were being charged twice as much as our neighbors which boggled our minds. Yesterday I contacted a rep after an exceptionally long hold time only to be told that we were supposed to be "renegotiating our service charge with them every year". She would not issue any form of credit or refund and is actually going to charge us $50.00 more to come pick up their container. This is true and I have no motivation to make up a crazy story like this. Strongly advise AGAINST using REPUBLIC WASTE SERVICES for anything.
