    If I can give them no star I would because they don't even deserve a star. It's been one month exactly waiting for them to cancel my services, I have spoken to everyone but a manager. I just called again and the services are still on. I've canceled this 6 times. Worst Company. Worst customer service.

    Called and canceled my service on 3/25. My container removal were schedules for 4/8. A final invoice was created by Republic on 4/20. On 4/19 I get a phone call saying my account is past due. On 4/19 I get an email saying my account is past due. Keep in mind the invoice says it wasn't even created until 4/20. On 4/25 I get another email from the collections department. Really? How do you create an invoice that is past due before the invoice was ever created? And goes to the collections department five days after being created. Come on! This harassment isn't even the worst part. Going over the final bill I have to pay for the bin pick ups. Bin pick ups each per invoice are $36.30. Times two is $72.60. My final bill says I owe $112.15.

    I called customer service. Lady was nice but didn't really explain why the difference in dollars. So I figured it out on my own per my invoices laying right in front of me. So on top of me having to pay $36.30 twice for two bin pick up I was also charged $36.53 for fuel/ environment recovery fees. And $5.95 administration fees. Totaling $42.48. They did credit $2.93 off of this. Fuel fee. Making this total $39.55. Here is the kicker, this fuel/ environmental and administration fee is what I would have been paying for a quarter year, three month, or ninety days of service that I did not renew. So all in all I had to pay for three months of fuel/ environment fees for one day of container removal! How is that? How do I get charged for something I didn't even use? Anyway, I am glad to be done with this place.

    I planned in advance to have two twin mattresses included in a bulk pickup by Republic Services at a cost of about $65 per mattress. I was told to have the mattresses out on the curb at a specific location by 6AM the next day. By 1 PM the next day, they were still not picked up, so I called Republic Services again. I was promised that the pickup would be completed by the end of the day. BUT, THEY WERE NOT PICKED UP. Now it is the weekend and their office is closed and there is more rain. My wife and I live in a senior facility with more than 200 other residents, who have begun to complain about the wet mattresses being out on the curb. Republic Services is a company that has poor internal communications and does not keep its word. I know they recently acquired Randy's Sanitation-- a company with very good service. Too bad. I wish we had Randy back. Fred **

    My experience with Republic Services Residential in Whitestown, Indiana has been disappointing. The pricing seems exorbitant, and the frequency of missed pickups and incorrect recycling dates is frustrating. Adding to the frustration is their refusal to collect extra bags or boxes, despite their own errors in scheduling. The additional charge of $2.50 per item outside of the designated containers feels unreasonable. Transitioning from Michigan to Indiana, I had hoped for better service from Republic, but unfortunately, my experience has left me disheartened. I cannot, in good conscience, recommend Republic Services based on these issues.

    The local service/pickup crew was fine. The fact that my price for pickup went up nearly 100% in the past couple of years makes 0 sense. Fuel prices increase but they also fluctuate. When gas prices dropped the price didn't go down yet has increased nearly every quarter. I switched companies to a local company and when I cancelled I was informed that Republic was willing to price match....The new company is charging me similar to what I was paying when I started, actually cheaper than 7 years ago....yet Republic was willing to come down from the $158 they are going to charge me quarterly to match the $90 I am paying for service now....seems a little greedy. I then received a late payment reminder a week after I cancelled service for service that have not nor will be rendered. Awful company.

    I was happy with the service I received. Reminder calls regarding holidays/delays, always timely pickups. I was on quarterly auto pay so that was simple also. Although I did notice the increase in bill by $5 sometimes at every quarter. I didn’t realize how far it had come until I looked back to 5 years ago. From $49 for a three month period of weekly service to $97.58 for the same. Obviously some price increase is understandable but double? I called to cancel and at that time I was told the price was negotiable down to $70/quarter. Honestly that is what makes me upset…for 2 years I’ve been paying a higher rate than “necessary” as a loyal customer and now I’m told the price is negotiable? Negotiable price was only guaranteed for a year though and I know how that turns out for me. So I cancelled and getting charged a $40 bin removal fee. So be better than me - don’t wait 3 years to price check.

    I have had their services about 2 months and have been missed 3 times. I call that day and they assure me someone will come…doesn’t happen. The garbage men actually park by my bin to transfer trash from their pick up to the rollover and they still do not get mine. Today I even asked the guy if he was going to pick up my trash since he had sat in his truck 25 minutes on his phone. He stated the pick up truck was full and he was waiting on him to come back from dumping it and he would get mine. This made no sense since he was in the big truck. Never got my trash. I called the office and was assured it would be picked up. No it wasn’t…again. I do online missed pick up reporting every day and still nothing happens. This has to be the laziest, most unprofessional business I’ve ever encountered. I would recommend this company to absolutely no one.

    After receiving a bill that was $34 higher than the previous bill, I decided to cancel my services. My trash can is only half full most weeks and I couldn't justify the price anymore. What shocked me was the $73.44 charge just to remove my trash can!

    I've never seen so many bad reviews for a Mandatory State company. My experiences have been horrible. When you sign up, it's through some different company who has no clue on what the prices are. They're just paid to sign you up and then you gotta deal with Republic Services. They should be definitely put out of business by the state. Holy crap talk about hidden fees plus they miss picking your trash up at least twice a week. P.s. No need to respond because your responses are almost identical to every single bad review. Looks like you got a bot to write it.

    I was a long time customer of this company until they wanted to raise my yearly rate over 30%. In the past I was able to negotiate a fairer price increase since my income is Social Security, but they refused this time. I switched to another company that was cheaper. I was not happy to find out that I would be charged a full month when I only need the first week to end my pick up. Second, even though I was owed a credit, they charged me $48.77 to pick up my container when I no longer had need for it. Are you kidding me $48.77 to pick up a container when they go right by my house picking up containers from others in my neighborhood. I would have been happy to return it myself if I know I was going to be charged this. Bottom line, avoid this company and I hope they go out of business. Upset former customer.

    They came, picked up trash cans and left them in the street. The police even came because that almost caused an accident and they never came back. Now our apartment complex is without trash cans because they are in the middle of the street. They also miss a lot of days. They don’t come when they are supposed to come. Even if you call them they lie and say, "Yes we will be there." and they don’t come.

    Horrible, horrible service! For two weeks now we've scheduled to have our mattresses picked up curbside. Paid in advance, spoke with multiple customers reps who confirmed pickup times two Fridays in a row. I don't know where you went to business school but I'm guessing you learned your chops off the back of a matchbook cover.

    Republic acquired Moring. My bill was $46.50 bi-monthly with Moring, and then for a few months under Republic. Republic increased my bill by 30%, taking it to $60.45 bi-monthly. I travel to take recycled materials elsewhere... Have done this forever. This leaves me a single small bag of garbage each week. 30% increase? I called. I talked with billing. No help, but so politely insulting.

    She moved me to sales. I talked with sales. Same polite insulting/sarcastic responses. She moved my bill from $60.45 down to $51.56 (still an 11% increase). Really? You inflict a 30% increase on your customers just to see if it sticks? You only reduce a bill if someone calls to complain? Play the odds and steal money from those who don't complain? This is not good business. C'mon, man... You need to be better than that. I arranged alternate garbage pickup. I called Republic to cancel my services with them. They took my bill back down to the original $46.50 bi-monthly to try to keep me. REALLY?

    So, if you are a customer of Republic Services, call them and force them to take away the increase. They will do it, but you have to leave in order to receive it. But to be honest, this just infuriates me further. Stealing money from those who think they have no options than to just swallow a 30%, or even an 11% increase? This is not fair to anyone, and the people you are stealing from probably are not able to contest, nor afford, these increases.

    But this is what really makes me angry. During Covid, prices went up on everything. In fact, companies took advantage of Covid to drive prices up. Post-Covid, these companies continue to do the same. People think prices are going to come down. This will never happen. This is what is behind high inflation, not what all of the pundits are stating. To reduce/control inflation, consumers need to push back on increases such as this. If we allow them to steal our money, they will continue to do so. Get real people. Pay attention and hold these companies accountable to you, their customers. Large corporations like this have a ton of overhead. Don't pay for their large overhead costs. Go with more localized services that don't need to carry this high overhead burden.

    I was with Moring for over 30 years before the acquisition. Never had a single complaint with them, even when they increased my bill. That is because the increases were reasonable and expected. Costs DO increase for a business over time, and they must pass their increased costs on to their customers. But think about it. They raised my bill 30%. I called and they easily reduced it to $51.56. I called to cancel and they reduced it back to the original $46.50. Don't accept their increase.... They are stealing your money. For me, this is not a business I want to have in my life. Good riddance.

    Local pick-up was on time. No shade thrown at our local pick-up people. But corporate Republic? Very, very shady. They doubled our bill retroactively! We cancelled, and went with another service which is local and so much less expensive. I would NEVER recommend.

    Republic purchased GFL. Bank paid gfl. Republic said they didn't receive the payment. Tried to call gfl but keep getting transferred to Republic. Had to double pay to keep credit good. Canceled service. They lost future business. I lost 173.59. They are like dealing with the mob. Don't use them. Bad service on top of it.

    Canceled services. They transferred me to a sales person to cancel. I cancelled and they informed me I have to pay a 250 dollar fee to have the cans picked up. I told her that wouldn’t be happening. She then offered a 50 dollar discount and I told her that still wouldn’t be happening. I confirmed with her when they would be picking up the cans. I inquired about the now 200 dollar fee and she said she would take care of it. I had a bad feeling so I checked the online account the next day. It didn’t say my account was cancelled so I deleted my bank account info and called to confirm. I spoke with someone in the billing department and they assured me the account had been canceled, I would not be charged for the next 3 months of service, and that my bank info had been deleted.

    Well, weeks later, even though I deleted my bank info they charged me for the next three months of service. Mind you this is also after they picked up their cans so I couldn’t use the service even if I wanted to. I called, told there was nothing that can be done. I can call back in a few weeks to discuss if I would be getting a refund. She also took the time to inform me I would be getting charged a cancelation fee. These people are crooks. Don’t use their service. I’ll be cancelling my business account with them as well.

    Wow! City has a contract with these guys and we are supposed to have 2 bulk items picked up a month. Have fencing that isn't heavy but too big for the bin. It has sat outside 5 weeks in a row. After the 3rd week called and they were supposed to come out 2 days later but didn't. Called back and they said I didn't have an account with them. The city does! You get my Trash every Tuesday. Had to get the city involved just to resolve. This company doesn't know what they are doing.

    I've asked twice for our 8 yrd dumpster to be set down to the right of its current location. When service was recently started, we told them there was a construction dumpster in the way and when it was removed, our dumpster would go in its place. Now after my second request (because the first request was never completed), I get an email that it was cost $182.50 for the driver to set my dumpster to the right of where it is now, because I described the distance as about 10 ft. After 30 min on hold, I still couldn't get the assistance I needed, so I have to deal with a dumpster taking up parking spaces unnecessarily. There is no justification for a charge like that and I wish I had a alternative for our trash service.

    Signed April 2023 for 177.89 a month. Fast forward not even a year later and it's almost four hundred dollars. Got a quote for another company and they said they can't match the 3 years. So I have them their required 60 day notice Feb 1. April 1st, got told, "Oh well they never processed" and I have to pay 6 month fee to cancel on top the 60 day notice here. It is the 8th and dumpster still on our property and still no paperwork from them and they tried to say, "Well we can try to match." Little too late and their match means nothing considering the 177 contract didn't last 6 months but yet we stuck paying huge fee to cancel. I would shop around because these company dont care about the $$$$.

    This company is so poorly run it's sad. I have a disability so I pay for door service, but in reality I am paying for no service at all because they do not pick it up. When you call they give you the runaround and outright lie to you. You would think they would care about bad reviews and people who have to call over and over just to get what they have paid for but obviously they don't even care about people with disabilities and the kind of service that is needed.

    Updated on 09/28/2024: I was initially thrilled when Republic bought out Waste Management in our area, but it has quickly turned to regret and frustration. They leave my trash can in the street instead of returning it to the curb where they found it. They keep missing pick ups and offer no explanation. And now to make matters worse, the price is increasing, despite the level of service decreasing. My next step is to complain to the city of Springfield, the Better Business Bureau, and whoever else will force them to start doing better.

    Original review: Worse service than Waste Management, and they just took over from WM! They can’t seem to pick up my trash even though I pay for service. Get your act together, RS and start taking care of customers.

    I have been a customer for many years and recently the bill goes up every time. I called in late December and was told there would be a adjustment, they did for the one bill which I appreciate but this next one was right back up again. The constant price increases on each bill is ridiculous. The drivers and service are always good so that's a plus.

    Matter was resolved by the company. Still a bit of a sour taste from the initial experience, but they made amends.

    Original Review: April 4, 2024

    I had Republic Services for nine years and never missed a payment. I was overall satisfied with their service. But, in late 2023 I made a payment through their website and the website happily told me the payment was accepted. Fast forward to mid March 2024 and I receive a phone call that my trash service is about to be discontinued due to non payment because of an expired payment method (billing is every 3 months, by the way). I immediately went on to the website to update the payment method and pay the balance in full.

    The next two weeks, trash was picked up as normal. The week after that, the trash cans were gone. They took them. I called and spoke with a woman who said I would have to pay around 80 bucks to get the new bins delivered and to reinstate service. I was very polite and went back and forth with her about how I received no notice my payment was declined until my service was in danger of being stopped. I reiterated how I had made good on the balance immediately once I received the phone call but had no emails or phone calls about the payment method being declined. I said I would have definitely made it right had someone contacted me, but they didn't.

    I asked to escalate the matter and was told that someone would contact me within 24-48 hours... Nobody ever called me. Ultimately, I called back and paid their ransom so I could throw away my trash again. The mob used to have control of the trash business... Maybe they still do. I'm going to bring this up at my next council meeting and recommend we go with Waste Management instead.

    I was left an notice in my recycle bin saying no glass. I wish the person would come back and show me that glass in container. I now see why most people in neighborhood don't recycle. I will be another now that won't take the time to recycle. The person took the time to twist a wire notice to bin. Did not take any of the other items in bin.

    We use this company to pick up at our business, last year I was going to go with another garbage company but they talked me into staying with them and had me sign a contract for three years at a monthly rate that was reasonable. That monthly rate never happened, every month the bill was higher and higher than what the contract stated. I called to talk to an account representative and it took her over a week to call me back and that only happened after I told someone else at the company that I wanted to cancel their service. She then lied and said she never received a message to call me even though another representative knew exactly what time and date I originally called. I wanted to cancel the contract after a year when I discovered that they would drastically change the bill from month to month for no real reason, signing that contract did absolutely nothing for us.

    We are now forced to stay another two years with them or pay over a $1000.00 dollars to cancel this corrupt contract with them. Their drivers are wonderful, not complaining on them as they do a great job at picking up and are always very nice and professional. Don’t bother signing any contract with them as it won’t do you any good, they won’t honor that monthly price and can charge whatever they want. As soon as this contract ends and if we are still in business I will be canceling them immediately.

    Go with a different company! We were quoted and our first bill matched that quote. Every bill after was and additional $60. Bulk pick ups are a joke. They have you take furniture to your drive and expect it to sit there for a week plus. Their customer service is a joke. I don't even know why they have it. When I called and said I was hiring someone else they said I would have to pay $100 for pickup of my containers. Then I get a bill for service they did not provide because they don't allow customers to leave in the middle of a billing cycle? Then I got a bill for over $150 for containers for their fuel. Now I offered to drop their containers off. They REFUSED! Do not use this company. They need to be reported because they are out here robbing people.

    This has been the most impressively horrible company that I have dealt with in a very long time. Besides my bill doubling in the span of 3 months with no justification except that gas prices had gone up, they then started charging me overage fees every single week, which then doubled the cost of service yet again, Landing me at $1,000 bill for just the month of February for one 6 yard dumpster pick up once per week. The customer service reps are robots and refuse to help you with anything, they do not provide timely documentation that an overage is being charged you only find out a month later if you pay attention to your bill. You then have to request pictures. They also will charge you a lot for getting rid of the dumpster.

    Crooks. Do not use this service. We have had their trash and recycling service for two years and our prices have doubled. So I called to cancel my service and it was suppose to end January 31 2024. However, we were still billed for the following 3 months. I called to have the money refunded. Well the amount charged has only been credited to my account and they kept the admin fee and environment fees. So they have kept an extra money from me for their mistake. Additionally, when they came to pickup the cans and deduct that from the "credit" on my account they charged me almost as much on a one time pickup and as they charge on fuel for 18 pickups over 3 months. I still haven't received a payment for my remaining balance owed. All this to say, this company is a pain to deal with and they are Crooks.

    I’ve had nothing but terrible customer service. I sold out of my business that I needed service at and Republic Services is refusing to pick up the trash container and they are telling me that I have a contract so if I want to buy it out I can do so. If not it’s stuck there but there’s no contract signature. No one can provide anything that I’ve asked for. It’s been escalated three times already and I still haven’t got a callback from anybody. I just keep getting the runaround, it’s almost like there the mafia making you pay for something you don’t use anymore and if nobody pays I’m gonna get a visit from the trash cartel. I don’t know what to do. It’s been escalated to the highest and I’ve still got nothing back. I have no signature or contract with this company yet they still ignore all my request.

    I don’t know what to do anymore. I don’t know where to go to get this handled properly. I can’t believe this company is doing this as if they are selling out to some other company or just like being bullies and causing hacking to someone for 3 week with no communication with them unless I call. I have been promised an escalation call back three times already and still haven’t received anything. This is coming from higher-ups not following through tell you what kind of company this is.

    Never dealt with a worse company. Been with them for over 10 years with only minor issues here and there. The last 5 weeks they’ve missed pickup 4 times. I have to call, get told it will be escalated, etc. Sometimes they’d come the next day, sometimes I’d have to call again to ask them to come pick up. Most of the people on the phone were rude and couldn’t care less. The one person told me that they spoke to the driver and the can was picked up. Asked him if he wanted to FaceTime as I walked outside to show it was still sitting there full. Another guy said ‘well, truck is running late today so just wait’ then I had to tell him that it passed my house almost 2 hours ago and my neighbor's can was picked up. Funny, they know these issues yet no calls from any kind of management to make sure issues are resolved. I’ll gladly pay more with another company who actually shows up when they are scheduled to.

    I moved to my apartment April 28th of 2023. Since then I have had to call Republic on numerous occasions! Three of them I know for a fact was because they picked other garbage up and left mine and other ones just sitting there! I call every time. And they send someone out the next day to get mine and other cans down the alley that they just didn't do.

    Today I get the story that they're moving pick up to Thursday because of some problems. I don't know what the problem is because I stood in my Alleyway and looked down the alley for three blocks and counted him picking up 12 other cans of garbage. On the right side and on the left side. Just choosing which ones he's going to grab. I called Republic and they told me they were having problems that it's getting transferred till Thursday. I told her that I stood in the alley and watched him go three blocks picking up garbage on both sides of Road and leaving garbage on both sides of the road. My can is completely full! This is unacceptable! This is happening numerous times within a year's time frame!

    Moving out of here and moving in somewhere else isn't going to do no good! Because you just do the same thing at another address! Please evaluate your situation! Or admit that you just can't do it and let some other company do the job for you! I have been on a very good road trying to live like Jesus! But you people make this very very hard! As much as you charge people! You should do your jobs! If there was another service I could use I would surely do it! But I rent here and I have no choice in the matter! And I had to put my phone number on here but please do not call it! You guys never help when I call you! So don't call me! Just please do your job!

    I went online to start services with this company. They require a $50 deposit for the cans. I paid the deposit on 1/25. Moved into the new home on 1/27. On 1/30 I got an email that cans would be delivered. They weren't. This was the beginning of the downward spiral right from from the start. Long story short, after calling Republic Services and them telling me that the cans would be delivered everyday for a week and a half straight and the cans never were I told them to please cancel services and return my deposit as I had not received the cans. They canceled my service and told me I would receive a refund back on my card on Mar. 1st because I would only be refunded at the end of their billing cycle (which is wild). Ironically, 3 days AFTER I CANCELLED SERVICE, the cans showed up. I called and said to remove them (which they did 5 days later).

    Mar 1st came and went. I called Mar. 2 and they told me this time that I would receive a check in the mail. No check. Called today (3/13/24) to see where the check is and spoke to a customer service representative who told me repeatedly that there was no reason to be upset and continuously spoke over me. Spoke to his manager who was more informative. She said my refund will come in 3-5 days back on my card because I paid by card. So far, I've paid $50 for a whole lot of run around and frustration. Keeping fingers crossed that I do NOT have to call back in 3-5 days.... Wish me luck.

    I've been attempting to cancel my account with them since Jan 2024. I've called multiple times and been transferred and told someone will call you back as I'm considered commercial as I have a dumpster. I finally called, got a supervisor from Residential and she did follow thru to finally get me touch with the person in charge of my account Johana **. It's like playing tag with her as Id call in and they tell me she's not available even after calling her back within 2 min. I finally decided I wanted her supervisor which they contacted me and advised me they get me a final bill as I was under a contract. Which again still have not gotten. They have refused to collect the dumpster and refused to send me a final bill with the broken contract amount. I've sent many emails and Calls to the point I don't know what else to do..

    In return, we receive irregular or even no collection services- which is bull. Because of your lack of service, I personally, have to resort to renting out another dumpster but no worries, as it’s not from you.

    With numerous missed pickup reports and weekly calls to customer support, the service intervals continued to remain the same - horrible.

    Per your agreement, we fill your container(s) and place it by the road,

    Will it be emptied this week or [hopefully] next, nobody knows.

    With uncertain or no collection services, our trash pile keeps getting bigger, so when Chapter 7 comes knocking on your door, I will be there (as will many more) when it’s finally your time.

    With horrible and irregular services, it’s a miracle you’re even in business.

    With hopefulness this review will go viral, so that you will finally see, your “promised” services are despicable and dishonest for all to see.

    We ended up with Republic services after they bought out our previous dumpster service company. Our rate for a 2-yard dumpster has continuously increased and is now a ridiculous amount of money each month. They are famous for constantly charging you with Fuel Fees, Environmental fees, Overage fees, ETC. When trying to cancel because we have found another company for 1/3rd of the cost, we have been told that we are under contract and must pay $3400 to have our dumpster removed. No respect at all for customers, they are just hoping you will not read into the fine worded contract and sign away so they can raise rates at will and start hitting you with ridiculous fees. There are class action lawsuits against this company for good reason. Stay away at all costs or you will be a victim like the rest of us here. I wish we were more aware of what this company is all about before we hired them.

    We had initially had Randy's Sanitation for garbage services, I loved Randys. Randy's was then acquired by Republic Services a few years ago. I started noticing late garbage pick up, missed pick ups, etc. I then followed up with Republic, they gave me a few dollars (literally) for the inconvenience of missing multiple pick ups. Then I started to notice that there were price increases consistently without notice (solely notes, environmental fees/service fees/Etc).

    Finally, after they raised rates to nearly $60/month for services that are subpar, we decided to cancel. That's when it started the craziness. I called to cancel and they said they would pro-rate my last bill. Almost immediately, I received an "overdue" bill and then I called them back saying that my autopay has not taken effect yet so is this really due? They said no, do not pay it because they will need to add any final charges. So I waited for the final bill. They charged me $177 for the final bill (less than 1 month of service) and noted that there is over $100 in cancellation fees (and environmental service charges).

    I call again and confront them about this, they stated that it is part of the cancellation. I just ended up paying it. I went online to my account and after I paid it, I tried to remove all my card info in my account but my account was locked since they took me off (not an active account). I then had to call again to remove all my card info and anything pending. They said, "you will not be charged anything for autopay". Weeks later (today), I have now received an email that charged me AGAIN for $177. I had to call again to get it fixed and returned back to me. HORRIBLE SERVICE.

    Two years ago, Republic Services acquired the waste management company I've been using for the last 10 years. Since then we've seen prices skyrocket from $16.50/mo to $76.85/mo for the smallest available trash bin. In the last six months alone there's been 3 unannounced rate hikes totaling a 53% price increase. They even decided to retroactively increase rates on an already paid invoice period during December.

    With such significant rate increases, you'd assume it's going into infrastructure and efficiency improvements. Somehow though the company now consistently misses pickups every month for normal waste and has gone weeks at a time during the summer without running their yard waste pickup despite billing for it. It's pretty clear we're mainly contributing to their stock price at this point. I'd STRONGLY recommend avoiding the company as long as you are able.

    Canceled service since we are moving. Have been paying very high fees for garbage collection and now they charged me 170 to pick up my dumpster. Are you kidding me? If possible I will avoid business with Republic Services at all costs. Might be hard to do since they are close to a monopoly and raise rates at will. My rate almost doubled in 2 years. Stay away!!

    I was seeking to replace my trash service so got a quote from Republic that was quite favorable. Second bill was a $250.00 additional charge they claim happened because we had "contaminated" recycling. No picture... no proof. Just an outrageous charge. So I told them to take the recycling bin off my site. Now I have another bill with a $250.00 charge for "contaminated" recycling that apparently was the last pick up before the bin was gone. No picture.. no proof. Now a three year contract.... For the first time in 16 years I suddenly have contaminated recycling with no proof provided whatsoever. DON'T EVEN THINK OF USING THESE GUYS! 100% BAIT AND SWITCH!

    What a JOKE this company is. I have never had such an issue with giving a company money as with Republic Services. Their Customer service is the WORST! I decided to do the right thing and start recycling. These guys were the only ones in my area who did recycling. I was fully willing to pay three times MORE than the other local guys I have had for seven years. It took me an entire week of arguing, calling every day, and spending more than an hour on the phone with their extremely rude customer service reps to get my account set up correctly. Then, the local guys called and said they could not come down my road. I had them come back out, showed them exactly where to turn around, and explained how my current garbage truck drivers have no issues making that turnaround. Plus, never in 7 years have we ever had anyone get stuck or in any danger whatsoever.

    They claimed my road was "Too Dangerous" and that the turnaround was unsafe. Yet their driver did it when they came out, and every truck that has ever come down our road has made it back out safe. Long story short, they suck! Please don't waste your time explaining anything to them; they do not care. Not to mention, their prices are triple anywhere else. $40 per can to drop off. What a RIP OFF!! I am glad I could stop all this mess before I got too deep. Now that I am leaving a review, I see I am correct, and it wasn't just me. LOOK AT ALL THESE NEGATIVE REVIEWS!!! WOW!

Account rep was not helpful. Asked to speak with a manager - no success. Keep delaying communication. It has been almost a month.     Horrible, horrible, horrible experience top to bottom. Did I mention horrible? Skipped pickups, no explanation, not willing to compensate for missed pickups. Cannot break contract without paying for full contract for "damages" even though they are the party to "break" the contract by not fulfilling service. Customer service person says there is no one else to talk with beside that person, and they will not budge on anything. Requests for updated billing information requires weeks for them to provide (if they provide at all) during which they still bill you and charge late fees. They change terms of contract and provide reduced services because it is "too difficult for driver" to enter a neighborhood after they agree to provide service and get you to sign a contract, and then they don't offer you a reduced charge. Avoid this company.

    There have been several occasions where they have not picked up my recycling and trash, resulting in maggots in the can. The most recent case it took 3 phone calls and over 2 weeks to get my recycling picked up. I canceled my service and they scheduled a can pick up for 2/15. The day goes by and they aren’t picked up. I call and the agent tells me they rescheduled it for 2/13 and they never told me. She sends a case to the supervisor to see if they can pick up on 2/16. I call because the cans are still not picked up and they tell me they have a backlog and they have to schedule me a new date. Worst service ever! I just want my cans picked up!

    Today was garbage and recycling pick up. The first truck came around and picked up my neighbor's recycling and skipped mine. I called and complained that my recycle bin wasn’t picked up and was told because I rent and I’m not the owner of the house. I have no right to complain even though I’m the one pays the bill. The person I spoke with was LeeAnn, She was incredibly rude and talked down to me and told me I wasn’t allowed to speak with anybody else there because I wasn’t the owner of the house where I have been living for 18 years and have always paid my bill on time. This is a horrible company. I hope Willoughby, NEVER renews the contract with this company.

    This company told me there's low cable wires in the alley, next they said my recyclables are contaminated is why they won't pick up in front of the house. The camera shows they never came after December 2023. I shouldn't give them any star!

    I have problems with missed pick ups. Recently I called to report missed pick up, customer service call center assured I was not missed, just late, truck will be here to pick up! Did not happen, so reported again today, same outcome! It's 2 pm, trash still sitting on street! I can't talk to local company, just a centralized call center? This is not acceptable because call center has no idea what's going on local? Republic used to be best in town, boy that is NOT the case now!! They don't care anymore!

    Our pickup has been a disaster, in December they couldn't pickup because of the weather, it took a month to get it straightened around, now they switched the pick up days again, I called Tuesday and the lady assured me that they would definitely pick up the next day....NOTHING!!! As I sit here Thursday I'm watching garbage flying down the street from my window! How in the hell do you stay in business Republic?

    I called Deanna ** out of Chattanooga to help me with an issue about the overagecharge and was very disappointed in her unwillingness to help and even got rude at one point.. She was supposed to talk to the higher up and get back with me and I didn’t hear from her so I called and got ahold of another account manager Macy **! That was very helpful and even offered me and better plan to fit my needs! The best part about it we didn’t have to wait for the higher up as Deanna called to get back with her. Macy took care of the issue right then!

    Have used Repubic Service for a few years. Over time I've had missed trash pickup. I've seen them when they miss recycling dump recycling into trash as well. Now I'm done! My pickup day is Thursday. They took 1 can and left other full. I emailed a miss trash pickup Fri. Mon still here. I called & they apologized and stated they would send someone out right away. Now it's Wed trash still here.

    I called again. She informed me that my trash was too heavy & they could not pickup with the machine. No one informed me of this till now. She stated it's a 50lb weight limit to the can and I need to sift thru my trash & make it lighter. I said, wait a minute you're telling me I should get a scale, weigh my trash, and now I need to sift thru my garbage to make can lighter! Who tells their client that! Why are cans so big if you can't fill them. Why didn't they take sum stuff out of the can & lighten it if that's the case or did they not want to get their hands dirty! I'm glad they record calls so they can listen themselves

    There is no way to find out about trash removal service in your area. They say you can sign up for email alerts for delays, etc. Have never received one. The customer service reps have little to no information. We will be changing trash removal companies. They are simply really bad. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.

    Trash pick up prices continue to increase and still my street goes consistently 3 or more weeks without having trash picked up. At this point animals of all sorts get into the trash spreading it throughout the neighborhood. You can't take the trash in every night due to you MIGHT miss pickup, cause at this point you never know when Republic Services will ACTUALLY DO THEIR JOB YOU PAY HIGH RATES FOR!

    They will sign contract with you for 315 $ per and will add up other charges and finally you will be charged 985$. This is CRAZY and if you want to cancel service, you have to pay remaining of the contract.

    They've been charging me for 2 large Gray containers for the past 3 years. But I only have one large and one small. I brought it to their attention and asked for the difference to be credited, which was denied. So I just removed one container. Definitely shady business.

    My company signed a 3-year contract with Republic in 2017. We noticed over time the bill increased more and more and eventually with all the added fees; the bill ended up being three times more than originally. So, in Jan 2024, we decided to switch companies. I called to cancel service and they told me they would pass the message on to the sales rep. The sales rep called the next day to try to "help" me lower the bill. After she quoted a price that was still much higher than the competitor, I stated that I wanted to cancel the service. She then proceeded to get an attitude and threaten us with an "early termination fee." I asked how a fee could exist if we fulfilled our 3-year contract and she stated that the contracts continue and renews every year until you cancel it. I have never heard of such a shady practice from any business. So, it is an endless contract you are stuck in essentially,

    When we originally signed up with Republic Services, we were told our bill would be 153.00 a month. Our first bill was 153.00, every bill after that ranged from 160. to over 300. With the average bill being 240/250. Of course, Republic Services insisted the rise in fuel prices was the cause. It was as though they wanted a blank check each month, garbage company, literally!!! When you rate 1 Star 85% of the time on reviews, people should listen!!

    I would like to start by saying if it was possible to give zero stars, that is the rating Republic Services would have received. I hired Republic Services to pick up my trash shortly after moving into my house. We were within a week of Christmas so there was going to be a delayed pick up which was no problem at all. The night before this delayed pick up I proceeded to place my trash where I was instructed. The next day after I had arrived home my trash was still sitting in my front yard. I called customer service and was told that it was an accident and they would put a "missed pick up" in the system and that they would be back tomorrow to pick it up.

    This pick up never arrived, so I called the corporate office and was told my "missed pick up" was deleted out of the system. They told me that they would put another one in the system and make sure they came by to pick it up on the next scheduled date. This process repeated for 3 weeks until vultures picked through my trash leaving garbage all over my front yard. The next day I canceled service and haven't been happier since. Save yourself the trouble of people lying to you and having to pick up garbage from your yard and do no hire this company!

    The truck driver did not pick up the garbage and I called early yesterday and they agreed to stop by during the afternoon and no one came. I called early today and they informed me that they canceled the order for my call yesterday because the driver reported that the garbage was not outside. I ask to speak to a supervisor because I have evidence from the cameras in my house where the garbage containers were outside the night before and they were scheduled to come today and no one came either.

    I have tried prior to resolve this issue. I have my account set up to autopay. Some months it accepts autopay, some months it does not. I have, multiple times, had to pay a large "reactivation fee" despite their own system showing that I am set up for autopay. I don't have any issues with any other companies I have set up on autopay with, but customer service only plays the blame game and tries to blame my bank. I will be switching providers as soon as possible. I would not recommend Republic Services to anyone.

    Republic Trash acquired the disposal service I had for 8 years. The price Republic charged nearly doubled in 3 years from $129 a quarter to $241 a quarter. They left my trash cans strewn on the ground. A new company Patriot Disposal became available in my area, same service $102 a quarter- I signed up. I had paid Republic 3 months in advance and when I asked for a refund after my final pick up in 11/2, they said they would only refund 2 months plus charge $75 to pick up my bins. It has now been 6 weeks (12/20) and I still have not received any refund. Horrible company.

    My family has run into super hard times and have been struggling for the past couple of years. We were one month late on our payment of $136.65 but they have stopped our pick up for two weeks now. I tried calling them letting them know I have set up to pay my bill next week when I get paid and they denied helping us. I have been a customer for over fifteen years and the least they could do is let us get our garbage picked up. We have had nothing but issues with them not picking up our garage for weeks when they don't have enough drivers but when I asked for the first time for help, I was denied and told that I have to pay in full in order for them to pick up our garage this week. Not sure how this is, okay? Late for a month and denied even when I am going to be caught up after the holidays.

    I had Republic Services for over 7 years and finally got to a point where I did not need their service for a waste container. Two years prior, Republic Services made me sign a contract to reduce my monthly fee. Republic Services gave a the pdf file where it had my signature but they did not provide me with the time frame of the contract. Now, Republic Services wants to charge me about 4 months extra service that they will not provide since I have cancelled the service.

    Updated on 01/05/2024: I submitted a review on 12/12 about 27.3% price increase, no one responding, etc. After a couple of emails back and forth, Kelly called me on 12/19 at 1234pm while I was in a lunch meeting with our staff. Left me a VM, I called her back 3 times that afternoon, left messages several times since, no callbacks. Then when I went into the email string via Consumer Affairs (CA), it appears closed. Resolution is showing in progress, but I have no way to email her or Republic Services through CA. Please have someone from Republic Services call my cell, it is in your records numerous times, and on VM of Kelly several times. We continue to short pay the bill, since the contract says if we pay, we accept the increase with no justification.

    Original Review: Increased price 27.3% with no justification. I have communicated our company does not agree without some justification. I have left several messages, sent numerous emails, our contact person will not respond even thought CS verifies she still works at the company. I am still hopeful that someone will call me back. I have to stop paying the bills, as If we pay, the contract says we consent. Catch 22 in a very one sided contract that has minimal customer focus. I sure wish a District Manager of VP would reach out to me.

    The absolute worst company in America. There will be a class action lawsuit coming soon. I would encourage you not to sign up with them, but that's usually not your option. As most of their customers are acquired through company Acquistions. But don't ever under any circumstances resign with them. I have been lied to by them year after year after year. There is no point in me repeating the same story that 90% of the reviews have said. I signed with them 2 times. Each time I did the charges triples within a year or so. And THEY RENEW your contract for another 3 years when your contract ends. To try to cancel. You have to speak to your account manager who never answers their phone, won't call you back. Then tell you that you have to pay them for 6 months of service just to cancel. Like I said the worst.

    I have attempted twice to use Republic Services online payment option - the second time with assistance from one of their employees. Neither time went through and I was never notified of the failure. Have a "past due" now. Tried calling the phone number in Colorado Springs and received a voice message saying to call back on Monday. There was no option to leave a voice mail. Why is there no phone number in Canon City, where they are picking up trash? I can solve the problem by going with a different company. Looks like very few are happy with this company, judging by the reviews.

    I just cancelled my trash pickup and learned that they charge $35 per barrel to come and pick up their own property. That is outrageous. Every month, my trash bill would go up with endless extra charges. If I had know, I would have never agreed to do business with them. I finally had enough.

    I'd give zero stars if I could. Bought a hoarder's house to rebuild and was forced to use Republic because they have an exclusive contract with the city I'm in. First dumpster was delivered 4 days later than promised. I called for a swap-out at 9:30 a.m the day I got it as we were rapidly filling it and was told the schedule was full for the next 2 days. Finally got a new dumpster 6 days later and the driver placed it so close to the house that I couldn't open the door. The walls on a 40 yarder are so tall that we had to use a ladder to load it. I asked to have it "repositioned" and they promised to come do it but it's been 4 days and nothing's happened.

    I called and scheduled another swap-out and was assured it would happen on 12/9 but found out today that nothing on my account was scheduled and that I had to pay $610 before they could even tell me when they might be able to do the swap out. $610 for a dumpster that I couldn't use because they put it too close to the house and we couldn't open the door???? Now they say their schedule is full until 12/12 - 5 days from now - and I still don't believe they'll perform. I've told them their service sucks but all they do is say they're sorry and they understand my frustration. I've told them that I'd be out of business if I worked the way they do but all they do is apologize. They're the worst - I'm held hostage - HELP!!!

    Bad company and customer service, I'm about to cancel my service, every bill overcharge. I have to pay 175$ a month and I never pay less 300$, and this month they charge me 650$ for overload and I never have overload. I called the customer service many time to give me a proof for that and they said we will call you back and that's never happens. They try to take extra money. I don't recommend those people for service and I will see if I can saw them. Really bad business.

Had to pay October bill plus I'm going to be billed 250 for them to pick up their dumpster! Do not use this company if you have options, complete rip off!

    I have reached out to this company multiple times regarding their poor service in my neighborhood. There is always an excuse. Not enough people came to work is not a good enough excuse. Maybe if you paid more, your employees would show up and our trash would get picked up on the scheduled day.

    I had been with Republic Services for 11 years. I had signed a contract for 203.00 per month. I was reviewing autopays and saw I was being charged 500-600 a month. The CSR was a complete hag. I switched services to another company. They charged me 3200.00 to close the account. They didn’t show up and overcharged many, many times. Do not use them. Fair warning.

    I wish I could say this is the worst trash service I have ever used, but I can't because this is the only one I have used and the only one in my area. It's very expensive, and there are many times when they don't pick up trash for multiple weeks. Last Christmas they didn't pick up for three weeks, and they are on their second week without pickup now and doubt they will come next week because it's Thanksgiving. It's very frustrating paying 80 a month and not getting trash picked up at all forcing me to take it in my car to a dumpster. My mom pays 25 dollars a month at a competitor and hers gets picked up no matter what rain, snow holiday, it doesn't matter. I would switch in a heartbeat if the competitor covered my area.

    Do not utilize their services, they don't care at all about customers. I have had to escalate thru the city multiple times and they still do not pick up my trash on the correct day. I would suggest complaining at your monthly city board meetings as they pay you lip service but never follow thru.

    They change pickup date very few months. Then constantly I got email updates explaining how they were short-staffed or the weather so they wouldn't be out there this week. Really really exceptionally poor service.

    If you choose to give this company your business be prepared to go down a one way street... only their way! Our company was with them for 11 years. Zero missed payments, zero late payments & zero returned checks. Prices go up constantly. You have to give them 60 days notice, in writing, in order to cancel their service. I emailed them the cancellation letter to the email address they provided. Never heard a word. Called. They transferred me to my rep. I've never met her, didn't have her phone number or her email address. She told me they did not receive the cancellation notice (that it was my fault that I sent the letter to the wrong address - even though they gave me the address) and they would not backdate it.

    My original email never kicked back so I had no idea it was in lala land. My contract expired 11/1/23. They would not cancel my service due to the letter not going to my rep and informed me that I would have to stay with them until 11/30/23. When I received my bill for November 2023 it was $150 higher. When I asked why I was told that my contract was expired and I had a price increase. I hate it that I was loyal to them for so long. I've found another company for literally 1/2 the price. Republic Services is terrible. If they don't like what you are saying they'll just hang up on you. Shocking to me as a business owner. And reaching out to their manager is a joke. I truly hope that all the bad things they are doing to people come back to them 10 fold! I would prefer to give them a negative star rating but that's not an option. Really crappy people to deal with!

    As a body shop business we definitely have trash daily and require pick weekly. We are lucky to have 2-3 pick up a month. Weekly we have to call because they never showed up. Always the same excuse, it will be done by end of day and they never come sometimes for days and sometimes until the next pick up. If we can locate a reliable trash service we would, doesn't seem like trash service cares about their customers but they sure do stay on top of their payments.

    For the previous two billing cycles we have been assessed a new fee not previously charged and labeled as a Waste/Recycling Overage, Overload Container - Distinct. When the first invoice arrived, I emailed my representative at Republic to inquire, but to this date I have received no response. That was October 06, 2023. Today we received our most recent statement, and again, we were hit with the same fee. This time I called customer service to inquire. After waiting on hold for several minutes a rep took my call, asked for an account number, then asked how she could help. I provided the requested information then was told to hold while she accessed the picture of our dumpster from the pick up date listed. I was then sent the photo for my review and this is what I saw: a dumpster with the lid open, some plastic hanging about 12" over the side of one corner and trash piled slightly taller than the dumpster walls.

    I was "educated" by the rep, yes she told me she would educate me on dumpster use, and took a defensive tone that I reciprocated. Per the rep, had we taken a moment to arrange the trash to fall into the voids and make sure the plastic didn't overhang, we would not have been assessed a fee. Basically, close the lid and make sure nothing slips over the side. For this, our bill increased from $181.01 the previous cycle to $276.30 this cycle. This fee has now been assessed twice with no offer to refund all or even partial. Had we been offered a refund of just one month, then informed of the reason the fee was assessed and how to avoid, I would been okay with that, not satisfied, but okay and this review would have been avoided. Nope, customer service and resolution is not their concern, but more like, how quickly can I end this call.

    When our contract is up, I have no plans to renew and I have been a customer for 8 to 10 years, but, they don't care, and that was obvious from the call today, and the fact that now 2 emails to our service representative have gone unanswered. I feel like had our previous rep still be employed with Republic, the issue would have been resolved within 20 minutes of my first email and all would be good. If you can find a local waste disposal company, use them, stay away from Republic as they do not care.

    Our company signed a contract with Republic for $309.00 in 2018. Our last bill for $1046.89 for October 2023. Not one price increase notification from Republic on any bill they sent in the last 6 years. They also charge unlawful fuel recovery fees. Republic deliberately implemented dishonest fees and price increases from the original agreed monthly rate. Republic is demanding $4000 for terminating their contract!!! And their rep is saying they will contact their attorney if we do not pay this. There is a class action lawsuit going on due to this same issue. BEWARE!!

    My business has used this service for 5 yrs or so. They continue to raise rates disguised as fuel charges. The last increase was went from $70 (July) to $90 for (August) a single dump per month. We called on 10/26 to cancel. Yesterday an agent called and said a cancellation doesn't count unless you cancel with a manager. They wait days to call you until you are into the next month to stick you for another billing cycle.

    Same agent called today and now says they want a 60 written notice to cancel. She never mentioned this yesterday. Why is it so hard to cancel with this company? This manager was extremely dismissive and rude. The lady said, "Wait, I can offer you ______to stay." We are paying more for a single dump than we did for bi-weekly dump... We changed from 2/month to once for the huge savings... and we don't use it at all in the winter months (cemetery).

    Republic Services has to be one of the worst companies in the area. Miss pick ups all the time, won't take the trash because it's too heavy, and now I am being told that you can't have more than four bags of leaves. They have the laziest workers but that's because the company is bad. This is across the board with them. When I was a PM for commercial properties they did the same thing. If you are looking to use them for your trash company don't. Do everything you can to convince your HOA to go with another company.

    Terrible service!! Contract you dont know about for 32 months, some 60 day cancellation period. $200 in cancel fees, no one will talk with you or help. Monthly cost goes up a lot after your first year. Mine went up $75 a month. Use another company. They may comment they are sorry but will never reach out.

    Avoid doing business with Republic Services for Residential waste and recycling at all costs. I've had multiple missed pickups over the past quarter that they refuse to provide a credit for. They acknowledge the missed pickups by routinely sending text messages and leaving voicemails, however I was never reimbursed for missed pickups. They are also charging me to cancel my service. I was told it will be $60 + fees to pick up their own bins to cancel my service. This feels very unethical. The price is constantly increasing. My prices increased nearly every quarter.

    I just found out they were over charging me 2x to 3x for years I just leased my house to my sister. My last bill was over $170. My sister has that house now around $60. I been getting overcharged for a very long time living there for around 18 years. Talked to 4 different people there telling me I wasn’t getting overcharged. I am also retired disability construction Boilermaker. Local 85 tore up getting 1/4 of my wages then a company like them taking advantage of it. I am calling an attorney tomorrow. They thought I bluffing. I am not like that. I do what I say. Might have to take my garbage to a waste dump myself so I don’t go bankrupt.

    Same experience as stated by others. Rates are constantly increasing and had to haggle with them to lower to something reasonable. Had enough of the shenanigans and closed the account only to find they charged me $93 to remove the containers. Also constant delays on weekly pickups due to drivers not showing or equipment malfunctions. They also would not accept many items other companies would take in the past like a bulk pickup request for dishwashers, etc.

    Absolutely the worst company you would have to deal with! My small business was closed in October which I called them to cancel the service and asked them to come pick up their dumpsters. Toward the end of the month I still receive bill for the next month, which I called to question them and their representative literally told me it takes 3 months for them to close the account and even though I am not using their services anymore I still have to pay for that 3 months before the account is closed. They WILL try their best to get their greedy hands into your pocket!!! DO NOT USE THEIR SERVICE. I LEARNT MY LESSON!!!

    Updated on 11/02/2023: All of their responses to their bad reviews make it seem like they want to make it right, but it’s a scam. You respond privately with your contact information and then they NEVER REACH OUT. They are trying to charge me over $1500 to cancel my trash pickup service as a residential customer and no one will reasonably work with me to allow us to part ways amicably. Do NOT work with this company. They are crooks!

    Original Review: Republic Services uses scare tactics and unethical practices to force unsatisfied customers to stay. They have nearly doubled my bill since January. I called to cancel and the gal was so nice “Oh sure I’ve put in your request, you’ll be contacted within 2 days to schedule your pickup”. 2 days later Rachelle ** out of Fort Collins calls starting the conversation with “it’s really expensive and difficult to cancel your contract so let’s reduce your bill and get you on a new service agreement instead “.

    At that point my guard goes up because she proceeds to tell me that the contract I signed in 2020 has me locked in on an indefinite 3 year period and I only get 1 chance, 60 days prior to my 3 year period renewal to cancel. She continues to tell me it’ll be $1500+ to cancel but she can negotiate my monthly bill as long as I sign a new contract. I refuse and ask to speak to her supervisor, she refuses to assist me further. I’ve called the call center and had my case escalated twice. I continue to be ignored. Their website says if you are not in a service agreement with Republic Services (which I am not, they are not the company I signed with in 2020), then you can cancel with 30 days notice and a $50 pickup fee. Reasonable expectations…so why are they strong arming customers into staying? I’m sorry, but as a customer it is not my job to pay you out the rest of “my contract” if you aren’t replacing your customers that are leaving that’s your problem not mine.

    I had a disappointing experience with Republic Services. Initially, the price quoted for their services was not the final price I ended up paying. They hiked the price without any valid explanation, citing a sudden fuel surcharge when I raised my concerns. It felt like they were holding me hostage with their contract terms, pressuring me to accept higher charges or commit to a longer contract just to maintain a steady price.

    Their customer service was the worst I've encountered. They seemed unresponsive and indifferent to my concerns, making the entire experience frustrating and unpleasant. I strongly advise against falling into their trap. Given their pricing practices and subpar customer service, it's baffling how they continue to stay in business. There are certainly better options out there for trash removal services.

    I own rental property in Georgetown, KY. At least once a month someone will dump a mattress or couch at one of my properties. I follow Republic requirements for those items to be collected. They NEVER honor their word of collecting them in a timely manner. I've had a mattress prepared for them to pick up for 20 days. Now I'm told the mattress needs to be re-wrapped. When I explained that it was the day before the original pickup date they didn't seem to care. They won't collect it until I wrap it for the SECOND TIME!! Do your damn job the FRIST TIME!!!

    My contract with a previous service was purchased by Republic so I didn't choose them to pick up my garbage. Republic missed my first 4 or 5 pickups because the driver didn't realize they had taken over the other company whose name was on the container. Their rates went up over $100 under the new contract so I found a less expensive company and cancelled Republic. Their invoice/contract term starts the DAY AFTER the new invoice. So the customer has no idea what the new rate is until after the old term expires.

    I cancelled within 2 weeks of the new invoice - when I called to cancel I was informed they would be billing me for the additional 2 pickups. Of course they didn't take into account the times they didn't pick up at the beginning of service. No company should bill at very end of the term without advising in advance of the cost increase. I would avoid this company if at all possible. They are notorious for gouging and being difficult to cancel. Sometimes in rural areas it's hard to find garbage pickup service. I'm sure my neighbors will be interested to know there are other options now - cheaper and more appreciative of their customers.

    One of my frustrations are that we as consumers don't have another option to put up with the bad service the drivers of this company provide. With over 1300 1 start reviews to represent this company not sure if my complaint would mean anything to them. Their system consist on taking pictures with their iPad to blame the consumer of the why they got overcharge or the why they didn't pick up the trash on time. They want to keep the customer accountable for perfect conditions to pick up the trash but when you ask them for a time or schedule to be prepared for them their answer is, they will be there when they can. That's unacceptable.

    I've been working in Construction for 15 years. Industrial and Commerical. This is THE worst company I've ever had the displeasure of dealing with. It's a simple concept. You provide service, you invoice, we pay you. Republic has found a way to turn this process into brain surgery. They don't bill, then either refuse to pick up the dumpster or email threats. Their dispatchers and drivers claim they "Can't reach the office". And don't even get me started on the fees. I'm not joking when I say you will pay more in made-up "Fees" than you will for a dumpster pull. Save yourself a lot of trouble and go with literally anyone else.

    This is the worst company. I cancelled my service because my bill literally tripled in one month, with no changes of service. I was told there was a $30 fee for them to come pick up my container. I just received a bill for almost $90!!!! $30(per container, they were 2) and another almost $30 for fuel. For $90 I could have brought the containers to them and saved $80. This is ridiculous. I was outright lied to about the charges, and then told they are standard fees, thank you for being a valuable customer. DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS COMPANY. THEY ARE THIEVES!!!

    Rates at the Bradley County landfill are terrible...They no longer take cash...The convenience center has dumpsters that are too tall to throw heavy or large bags into easily...If you go to the back to dump trash or other items there is no signage to direct you where to go...Zero dust control that I saw...Not to mention they're closed on Saturdays now...As a former employee and certified landfill operator of this facility this place has turned into a disgrace...I am surprised it passes state inspection

    I had occasion to schedule a bulk pick-up. It was originally scheduled for a Friday. It stayed on the curb for three days. I called and the rep intentionally kept me on the phone repeatedly saying she was "pulling up my account" and I had to stay on the phone. This is not the first time I've experienced this kind of behavior. The practice of keeping people on the phone to frustrate and eventually give up, Repeatedly told "this is how I was trained." Given the amount of bad reviews, my assumption is Republic prides themselves with this policy. It is reprehensible.

    While delivering a dumpster to my mom's neighbor, the driver backed over the water meter box and broke all the pipes. Left it to the city to fix, which they cannot, they can only fix the City side of the plumbing. No note, no call, no attempt to follow up. The City fixed their side and because the customer side was still broken they turned the water off and left. It took me two days and numerous calls to get to the facts. Republic has taken responsibility, finally. But their solution is I pay for the 500$ repair and submit the invoice for reimbursement if they don't find the charges to egregious. Complete trash.     I have had Republic for 2 years, they charged $80 to drop off a trash and recycle can. Then when I cancelled charged $80 to pick them up!! The company we are replacing them with, provides the cans at no charge at all. Republic's monthly isn't terrible but at least once a month they miss our house and when you try to get them to come back you have to keep calling and custpmer service will say, "Oh tomorrow we will," until it's pick up the next week anyways. Yet, they don't refund when they miss your pickup. The truck put a hole in my trash can and they never did replace it even though I called 4x. If you can avoid using Republic, do yourself the favor and go with ANY other company!!

    Republic Trash is a joke! I called the 3rd of Aug and canceled service. The new billing cycle was the 9th! I got the invoice on July 20th. They're trying to charge me $50.55 for the month of August when they picked up the trash can the next week and I haven't had service the whole month! And then tells me they close accounts at the end of the month so I should've called the 20th so they could've closed it the 31st not 3 days later.

    Republic Services is by far the worst trash pick up service we ever had an opportunity of dealing with. Since we started we had nothing but issues, and we went to the service on good faith that they will provide the best service in the quick service that we need for trash pick up. We have called multiple times to get assistance on picking up our trash to the point now that they are giving us excuses and telling us that we are scheduled for pick up never to arrive. This is now going on since last week! Since we have been with this company our trash is been picked up once. If this doesn’t change my wife and I are planning on leaving this company for good and going back to our former trash pick up company. Please do better by your customers.

    They like they told me that I asked for another pickup which I did not . Also told me there was a 18-wheeler in my driveway blocking the dumpster which on my camera I prove they lied. Then they told me they wouldn't going to pick up the dumpster till the 31st of August. They lied. Pick it up on the 24th of August. Charges was 366.00. Did not pay them that. Told me they would get back with me but they didn't. I had to keep calling for answers. After I made a payment they picked up the dumpster early. So I cancelled my payment. Because they took my payment and picked up the dumpster. Cheated me out of my week for trash pick up.

    First and foremost, my landlord must have placed my name as the responsible party to pay for trash. This company called me back in July, credited me $7 just to call today to insult me further. I relayed that this bill is not part of my lease agreement, but I am willing to pay to surpass the headache of going through the legal process. They will not reimburse me for other missed trash pick ups because it wasn’t documented, although they reimbursed me a measly $7 that was never documented beforehand. Their prices change every month with the biggest amounting to almost $100. They claim to only service every other month yet my bill reflects otherwise.

    Lastly, I was told that there was no one higher up I could speak to, to resolve said issues. I don’t want to hear: “Thank you for sharing your feedback, we take pride in serving our customers and providing an exceptional customer experience.     I have reached out to this company multiple times. Customer service is rude & does don’t care to LISTEN nor acknowledge. I’ve contacted them about my son's garbage pick up, nothing ever done. Once again they drive by and not pick up trash, this week. My son pays for this removal and he gets no resolution. Now, this morning, I drive up to my 82 year old, mother's apartment and see this! Infuriating! Leave the trash can in the street?! Really you lazy workers! Back in the day they picked up trash, period! They didn’t have all these ** rules. Why pay this company when clearly they can’t do their job?! There is no excuse that is appropriate for neglect. I have a picture attached! Proof is the visual! Sorry company and workers.

Called Republic Services on 7-10-2023 and they advised to disregard invoice, credit will appear on 8-01-2023.     Have a 3 year contract initiated in 2018, the way that operates is it automatically renews for another 3 years. All during this time their billing grows to levels that make you look for other vendors to provide the service. The contract indicates a 60 day notification of cancellation, plus considerable charges for early termination. BE CAREFUL OF SIGNING WITH THIS CROWD, THEY WILL CHARGE PREMIUM PRICES FOR THEIR SERVICE. Very dissatisfied and would not recommend them.

    Spent years never being late or missing a payment. I came into some hard times and was very late on ONE payment. They did not care whatsoever and still charged me a $35 fee. The people on the calls could not care less unless you paid them fees to care less.... I have now got three $35 late fees on my account... Pretty interesting as there hasn't even been a 3rd bill due since this started. SMH SCAM COMPANY!!! Take your trash to the dump yourself or just use anyone else. Companies like this ruthlessly taking advantage of real people's situations is just one sick thing wrong with our country right now. I'll be ending my service ASAP. I'd advise you all to do the same. Other review sites show reviews all over the place in the US saying the same terrible things.... Save yourself the headache.

    I wish I could give ZERO stars. This company does not deserve one star. I started a contract with Republic Services for a new nonprofit serving homeless women and children in Philadelphia. I don't know what happened but after 1 1/2 yr the services provided have completely stopped, without warning. This company has just refused to empty our dumpster and just gives excuses. They abandoned our organization and left our dumpster without service for 2 weeks. I have called customer service multiple times and keep being told they are coming and they don't show up. When I call the office to find out where they are, they tell me that they came to our property but did not have access. This has happened at least 5 times in 2 weeks.

    There is no accountability and they pass the call from one person to another and when they realize you have a complaint, the call gets conveniently disconnected. When you finally get a representative, they say that they will come and they don't. This has been a HORRIBLE experience. I have been a procurement specialist in a large corporation for over 7 years and I have worked with hundreds of vendors but I have NEVER been this frustrated with a business in my life. I ended up crying and pleading with them to empty our dumpster to no avail. They left our dumpster overflowing with vermin pulling our garbage out, etc. We, now, have to get a neighbor to, personally, make special trips to transport our trash while our dumpster remains full. I have found myself at my wit's end with this situation. I would not recommend this company to a dog on the street. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.

    Used them for 5 years with no problems…. However, in over 90 degree weather and high humidity they have missed a pickup with absolutely no call. I called the customer service center and was told by their rep they couldn’t explain why. Just no reason and was told “this is a call center”. So I asked for a supervisor. The supervisor assured me that he would have this cleared up “right away” and by the end of the day. Well the day came and went… I was at work just sure I would come home to empty trash cans. I turned onto my street and the entire cul de sac is still waiting for a pick up. It really stinks out here and they don’t even have the decency to call back and or fix this problem. YOU CAN'T EVEN LEAVE A MESSAGE…. You have to call them back on their business hours. What a HUGE disappointment.

    There has been no yard waste pickup in our subdivision for more than three weeks. My neighbors and I have made multiple calls to customer service, in some cases (including my own) escalating the complaint through several layers of management trying to obtain satisfaction. My neighbors and I have received promises that someone was owning the problem and would be following up by telephone soon but no follow-up calls have been received and the yard waste is piling up around the neighborhood. Many of us are considering legal action at this point.

We sold the Admin Office with escrow closing April 12, 2023 but you are continuing to service the Wayfarers Chapel location. Former office address: **. Contact # ** Office ** Cell. No resolution. I just received a new bill for $817.84

    Original Review: We sold our administration building. I alerted Republic in January that we had entered escrow and provided the closing date. I was told I couldn't begin the process of ending service until the close of escrow. I sent the settlement statement after close of escrow as requested. I was told at that time there was a 60 day process and I would be charged for services during that time. My bill now stands at $647.00 NO for services rendered. No pick ups were scheduled for this two month period of time but after 5 phone calls and way too much time spent on this, I was referred to supervisor, Mynessia **. Ms. ** didn't return my calls but instead referred this to the same person I have spoken with 5 times previously. Requiring a continuation of full charges while requiring a 60 day process is inexcusable.

    I was behind on my payments. I told them that I had just had surgery and I'm not working. I asked If I could make a half payment and pay the rest on Sunday. They told me they will not take a partial payment. And can't pick up until it's paid in full. I had no choice but to agree And I made my payment on, Sunday. My service pick up is for Tuesday, when I called to make sure they were going to pick it up on Tuesday. They told me they can't pick it up because their payment takes more than 48 hours to post. So even though they can see that I've made the payment And they can see it's been paid. They still were not going to pick up even though it was another Day Out before my trash service. So now they wanted me to wait another Eight days before I get my service picked up Even though I've already paid in full.

    These people care nothing about you. They obviously have so much business that they feel they can treat their customers like trash as well. If I can help anyone reading this. I'm going to advise you to please use a different trash service. And now we have to find another one. But I don't even care, it will be worth it. They're going to reply to this with their fake Concerning message. Please don't believe them, they could care less about you. And that's really all you need to know. Don't even bother reading their caring responses to all of the one star reviews they have. There's a reason they have all those one star reviews. And it has nothing to do with their fake caring replies. Oh but I will say they gave me this one tip. They told me I can put mouthwash in my trash can to keep the flies away. If this is the kind of service you want as a customer, then by all means, use them. But if you don't want it to be treated like the trash, they pick up, use someone else.

    I have recorded and taken pictures of the garbage man stealing my deck tiles from my porch. They were not in my garbage can and have been stacked my porch for weeks. Our association requires those items to be taken to the curb for disposal. Why the garbage man decided to blatantly take my property makes no sense. Had they been placed IN THE GARBAGE CAN would make sense. I have called customer service about my concerns and no one has replied. I want my $90 refunded so I can REPLACE MY DECK TILES. The incident took place on Monday, June 26th at 12:53 PM.

    My blue recycling bin was broken by the trash truck claw. On 6/4 I requested an exchange and was told that the exchange would happen the next week on 6/14. My bin was not exchanged on 6/14. Since then, I've called at least twice a week and was finally told that there is a shortage of recycling bins, but that my exchange was scheduled for 7/5. There was no exchange again on 7/5. I called again and was told my exchange was now scheduled for 7/7. That was today, and again no exchange. So frustrating!

    7/6: We started our trash service on 6/14. We were supposed to have our dumpster the next week. It is now 7/6 and we still don’t have a dumpster for a service we are paying for. We have called multiple times. We have been told to just sit bags of trash by the side of the road while we wait. We have also been promised multiple delivery dates and call backs that never end up being fulfilled. I finally called today and pretended that I wanted to start a new service. I asked how long it would take to get a dumpster delivered, and I was told the next Monday after starting my service. I then informed them that I have been waiting over 3 weeks. I was then sent to another customer service person promising that yet again promised to escalate my problem and give me a call back tomorrow. There is no option to talk to a supervisor, and I was also told that no one has a direct line.

    Every time I call, I will have to go through the automated system and just get whoever answers the phone in customer service. It is no wonder there is no accountability if the person on the other end of the phone never has to speak to you again or answer to the complaint. I live near Springfield Missouri. The customer service personnel are in Indianapolis. I am struggling to see how my complaint will ever be fixed when customer service clearly doesn’t work closely with this area and “no one has a direct line.” When researching Republic Services after our horrible service, I found that our local news recently did a story on Republic Services and the poor quality of customer service. I think it is time for Republic Services to reevaluate their business practices. I wish I could give 0 stars!

    In 6/1 Republic raised my home pickup cost to $215 for 3 months, an increase of $50/period. On 6/3 I received this bill and immediately cancelled, contracting another service for $106 for four months. On top of it, I had a pickup on 6/2 for which they charged me $73, a one month price. They explained they only will bill by the month and even though they gave no notice of the increase nor time for me to cancel I am stuck with $73 for one pickup. Don’t waste your money with this service!!

    Republic bought out our previous refuse pickup service that we had for 23 years. We pay for pickup twice a week; Monday & Thursday. When they miss a pickup on Thursday and you call to request a pickup after 3:30 PM they won't pick up the trash until Monday. I work 2nd shift and by the time I return home to learn that they have once again failed to do this simple task, I have to deal with hauling a full can back up my long drive and with the excess waste outside for 3 days. I had more missed pickups per their schedule in 2 months than I had with our previous service in 23 years. Pathetic.

Initial bulk bin pick- up occurred early -- bags and rug remained on street rest of day -- I pay for full trash service not just what Republic feels like doing on a specific day. How about a rebate for lack of full service.

    Always have price increases. Final straw was a 50 percent increase in price and a final bill of 43 dollars to come collect their container. I told them to collect there container on the final trash pick up but was told thats not their policy. They charged me 43 dollars to send another truck to pickup my empty container. Will never use them again.

    Very unreliable. Always using excuse that they have labor issues. Many better options to chose from... They will reduce bills to keep you. And after you agree they do the same thing the next week. They call and say labor issues.. 3 weeks no show.. Not again. Come get the can ..Ohh that is delayed till end of July now..

    Republic Services is by far the worst company we've engaged in business with. They follow contract processes, make it super hard to close the account even if a business closes, auto-renew contracts to keep you locked in, and jack up prices without proper advance notices. Above all, they get away with all that due to a lack of adequate competition. It is no surprise that DOB and State of Alabama filed Anti Trust Lawsuit: **. Stay away from them. If you have an alternative available, any alternative, I'd recommend going with them. I plan on filing a lawsuit against them.

    My wife signed a contract for a fixed price just shy of 3 years ago. I've made about 100 phone calls and escalated to get the dumpster removed and service cancelled because the price has gone from $60/month to $108/month. They refused to remove the dumpster and cancel service or suspend and reduce price to $0/month through the remaining month of service. No one will answer the phone and they flat out lie to me on the phone and intend for the dumpster to stay on my property and continue to service even though there is a section in the contract that says the parties can modify service and cost.

    Canceled service 4/4 and was told it would take 3 weeks to pick up cans and cost $60 to pickup. I am still waiting and been 2 months and cans still at curb. Call every week and still not picked up cans. Only picked trash twice and paid my account 3 months at a time. Why I cancelled my account in the first place is they miss A LOT of pickup days and got old. And it seemed like every 3 months, my bill would get a little higher each time. Husband tried to talk to truck driver that has been emptying EMPTY cans, and he cursed at him. I don’t see how a company stays in business.

    Honestly an all around terrible company. They're constantly late or don't even show up. Trash can is always either toppled or in the middle of the driveway after pick up no matter what you do. Even if you put it per their specifications. They will always blame you instead. Customer service is non-existent. The person I spoke to was extremely rude and unprofessional. Late fee is atrocious and they don't even give a courtesy once-a-year fee removal that any other company does. I am unfortunately trapped using this company by the city. I barely use their service because of how bad they are and we are still stuck paying them.

    I put my account on seasonal hold in October 2022 - late April 2023 and every single month they billed me stating that my account was past due. Each month I had to call and each month a customer rep assured me that the issue was taken care of. Never was it taken care of and now they are saying that I owe $77??? The last person I spoke to had ZERO records of me calling each month to get my account back to an on-hold status. Do not use this company.

    Our previous trash hauler sold out to Republic Services. Rates went up, had missed pick-ups every week, won't accommodate pickup for disabled patrons!! When you have to call or send a message via their website just to try and get them to do their job, every week. We had our old trash company 30 years, no problem with them driving down our long gravel driveway to empty our cans, twice a week without having to call and request a pickup when we already have scheduled pick-up days.

    Told one thing on the phone, the bill would be "$72 plus a few fees, never over $100" - folks my bill has never been less than $200. I might have been able to live with that but they have missed a pickup a few times. Once they got stuck in my ditch, it's been a hassle. Called to cancel, was told I would have to pay a liquidation fee to get out from under the contract that I should have read better. Just disappointing that with all of the protections we have against shady business like this, these people still get away with it. So now I pay $1400 or I continue to pay $240 a month.

    Republic Services is the worst! They miss pick ups repeatedly. They bait and switch their rates. They raised them every year and worsened their reliability each year. When we cancelled service they let the pick up containers stay by the road for three months. Then they charged a pick up fee for retrieving them. Their customer service people are rude and Incompetent. They get a zero in our book. The worst!

    I just got the first bill, and I'm already disappointed. I received an initial quote from a customer service representative, and he had everything laid out for me and ready to go. I just had to call back when my current service ended and tell them I had a quote ready and to start the service. I called back to do just that, but the next representative ignored the quote and made her own without any of the notes from my original quote taken into consideration, which I realized when I received my first bill. I called customer service about it, and was told that's just the way it is. She had no desire to help, and did not even try to look into it. So, I'm stuck paying $100 more than originally quoted. I will be going back to my previous trash collector. They may be more expensive per billing cycle, but they had WAY less service charges, and they were WAY more customer oriented.

    Almost 350 dollars in bills for a month and a couple days of service. I cancelled immediately after seeing my first outrageous bill. Customer service lied to my face, they charge insane fees including container delivery, container removal, administrative fees, late fees, fuel environmental recovery fees. I am appalled at the lack of respect to their customers and the outright price gouging. My new neighbors came to me immediately after they saw the cans and warned me of this predatory company and to use a different one and I am so glad I did. By the way, the NEW company charges less for an entire YEAR of service. I am beyond upset and I will not be bullied into paying such insane amounts for someone to dump out a trash bin. Do yourself a favor and never EVER use them.

    I submitted a service/estimate request online and followed up via telephone after not receiving a response via the web. On the call, I told the rep I spoke with that I had used Republic previously at another organization because they offered a no-term agreement, and that was what I wanted. The rep emailed me an agreement with an overview that reflected no contract term and a reasonable estimate. I signed and returned on January 19.

    On January 29, I received an email informing me that my service was on its way, and another on the 30th informing me that my service had been completed (meaning that the dumpster had been emptied). The only problem: my dumpster had not yet been delivered. I was billed for two weeks—and received "service complete" emails during that time—before the container was ever delivered.

    The dumpster was finally delivered during the first week of February. On *the day after* it was delivered, a contractor performing work on our property disposed of an old door in the dumpster. The door—the only garbage in the dumpster—sat in the dumpster for weeks. I took photos and videos. I reported missed pickups. I got an email confirming the completion of my rescheduled pickup (in response to my missed pickup report). THE DOOR REMAINED IN THE DUMPSTER FOR A FEW MORE WEEKS. I took video of it still in the dumpster on March 8.

    All the while, I was receiving regular weekly emails telling me that my service was complete, despite the clear photographic and video evidence that it was never emptied after it was delivered. Then I received a bill for DOUBLE the quote in my agreement, despite no changes to my requested service (and in spite of Republic's failure to meet the terms of our agreement).

    Then my service rep emailed me to ask how my service was going, and I replied that I would like to schedule the dumpster for removal and cancel my service. This rep replied and tried to claim that I would have to pay to terminate the contract early—despite the fact that (1) my agreement has no contract term and (2) I have abundant documentary evidence of their breaches. And now my account rep won't respond to me at all.

    So now it'll be a BBB and FTC issue—unless and until it becomes a legal issue. Fortunately, my friend and law school classmate Joe is an expert in this domain. You can read about the shady dealings that commercial waste companies try to pull off by googling "The Dirty Business of Commercial Waste Hauling"—an article he published on LinkedIn. And then contact him there for help if you need an advocate. This whole industry is dirty—in every sense of the word. I have photo and video of the door still in the dumpster on March 8.

    Republic Services is charging a ridiculous amount for fuel surcharge, $28 a month on top of $ 60 trash fee for weekly trash pickup. I’m paying almost $90, almost $25 a week to empty 1 trash can.     We've lived out in the country for 11.5 years. We expect certain things to cost more, but this was getting ridiculous. Our quarterly bill for Republic Services was going to be $442.67. That's almost $150 per month. $34 per week. Nearly $5 per day to have someone come and take away one 96 gallon tote. No recycling, nothing special. Just regular old trash service.

    So, we spent the last three months working out a different plan for our trash and today I called to cancel. They transfer me to sales to cancel. I figure they're going to try to offer me every-other-week services or something else... Nope. She puts me on hold for several minutes and then comes back and offers me a new rate (probably what "new" customers pay), with the fuel and environmental fees included, that would make our next quarterly bill be only $186. That's only 42% of what we were going to pay.

    I ask her why is she able to offer me that rate? She says that over the years, as we've had their service, our base service fee has been increasing every year and she can now offer me this new rate. Yes, for the same service. I said, no thanks. We've been raped enough by your company. Cancel! I mean, **! What a way to do business! I mean, how despicable is that!?!

    We have been using Republic for 4 years now. Our bill has gone up every renewal period. I understand increases here and there, especially when gas prices were high, but gas has stabilized and our bills keep going up. We are paying 150% more than we were 4 years ago. Our trash is constantly being missed and I am having to call customer service and schedule a pick up - which rarely happens because they only come to Pawnee once a week. For what we are paying, our trash should never be missed. We will not be renewing.

    I was a former customer of Republic Services and left the first time due to their ridiculous fees and endless price increases. I eventually ended up with Randy's Environmental Services, which was then bought by Republic Services and once again, as happened the first time, my rates went sky high under their ownership. I would not recommend them to anyone as they are interested in maximizing profits in any way they can (They will charge you a small fortune just to remove the cans if you terminate their service). They say they will work with you on rates but unless you want to call them repeatedly to lower your rates I would suggest you find a hauler with a history of steady and fair rates and save yourself the time and stress.

    I cancelled my Trash service with Republic trash service before my invoice was due in January. They had missed 3 weeks in a row of trash pick up, so I cancelled. I have multiple invoices from Republic since cancelling. Always varying amounts. Each time I get an invoice, I call to see what the invoice is for. On more than one occasion the rep said, she does not know what I am being charged for nor why the amounts are ALWAYS different amounts. I feel that Republic Services keep sending invoices, especially to people my age or older, knowing we do not have the energy or patience to stay on hold for up to an hour to speak to a rep...to see what the charge is for. I have paid EAch one. I have little to no doubt, that I will receive another invoice next month for a service that I cancelled months ago.

    I have been with Republic, otherwise formerly known as Gallegos Sanitation, in Fort Collins since 2015. Since Republic took it over, we have continuously complained about the now incredibly POOR service without resolution. Truly, they do not care at all. They rave about their website, but it often redirects you to call the company, locking you out of proceeding, only to be placed on hold for hours, sometimes being hung up on whilst you are waiting. As if my time is unimportant. When you are lucky enough to get through, you are relayed from one rep to another WITHOUT resolving the issue. I tried to cancel my service, and lo and behold, I was called that very day. I was also threatened that I could not cancel due to a revolving contract I was unaware of with Gallegos, even if I move out of the state, which is imminent.

    I highly discourage joining with such an unethical company (just read some of the more than 4000 complaints in BBB since republic took over!). I want them to cancel my contract immediately! It should be criminal that I am forced to remain with horrible service, increased rates for those horrible services, and cannot even move? They said I could not renegotiate the contract, but they said THEY could rewrite the contract. Why on earth would I do this when I want out? They miss trash pick ups, they raise rates, they place the bin in a manner that restricts me from getting my own trailers in and out, they cut you offf on the phone, they patronize you with meaningless "I'm sorry" quotes, and they never respond... Oh, unless you try to cancel. END MY CONTRACT! IMMEDIATELY!

    After many months of extremely POOR service, I spoke to the Corporate Headquarters to complain about NOT having their containers picked up after I canceled my service. They sat there for weeks. To apologize for my year-long poor service they agreed that my bill was PAID IN FULL and I would own NO MORE. Their words, not mine. Today, I find that they have deducted 49 dollars for a container pickup charge! They are thieves! I had turned my autopay service OFF, and they deducted it anyway WITHOUT my permission. Beware of this corrupted bunch of thieves. NO work or quality ethics at all. I look out at my neighbors who still have their service and their containers have been sitting FULL for weeks. SMH.

    We had a very windy day and our trash can blew away.. No one on the street returned it. We went down the street and couldn't find anything.. I contacted the company and we have to pay $60 to replace it.. We pay $75 dollars a month for service that isn't great anyway and now this? If I had a choice, I would cancel the whole contract.     I had a billing issue recently. I paid for an extra service cycle last year and I'm owed a credit for Republic Services. I've been trying to collect my credit for several weeks now. Five times I've called the customer service number and spoken with an agent, each of whom looked up my account and recognized the mistake. Each time the issue was sent to billing for resolution. No resolution was ever reached. No one ever contacted me about the issue. I did however continue to receive new bills.

    Today I just canceled my service and paid my last bill, in a sense paying Republic services to go away. Republic Services is not the lowest cost provider in my area. Knowing this you would think they would provide excellent service. This couldn't be further from the truth. I've never felt so unimportant to a company. I don't suspect anyone will respond to this but I needed to vent my frustration. I'm also contacting friends, family and anyone in my neighborhood who uses their services to let them know of the poor service.

    I know they are having issues with employment but this is getting to be beyond ridiculous. It all started the week after Christmas holiday. For some reason, my entire block in my subdivision did not get a trash pickup. (Uncertain if we were the only ones in the subdivision) I give them a past because their issues are all over the news and granted it was a holiday week. Next pickup week my trash did not get picked up but everyone else in the block did. Call the office and they were very apologetic and sent someone out in the next couple days. Next week my top to my recycling bin is gone after pickup day. Had to call on two different days after company promising to replace it. In the meantime, it’s raining on those days.

    Two weeks ago they did not pick up my recycle trash for the week. Called and once again very apologetic and promise to “expedite“ the situation so someone will be out to pick it up the following day. Nobody comes. Call back the next day and promised again to get a pick-up the following day. On the following day by afternoon, nobody has come.

    Call and was told to give it to the end of the day. Also was told they would again “expedite“ the situation. End of the day comes and still no pickup. Call again today and request to speak to a manager. Transferred to customer relations and spoke with Doug. Was told someone would be by today to pick up and that he would personally be tracking pickups in the future. Well Doug nobody showed up! I have a full recycle bin and stuff in my garage that can fill up another bin, waiting on somebody to pick up. I have lived here for almost 18 years and never had a problem until recently. I pay for weekly pickups and that expect to get!!

    Was paying $338 per year. Received my current bill and it’s $477. Called and talked to a supervisor, was told they were going to lower my bill to $282. Since then I’ve called four times and was told they were going to call me back and never have. I keep getting a late notice. Finally called back today and talk to someone. They said my bill was 282 if I wanted to put it on my card. Once I put it on my card they said I had to verify with another billing agent when I talk to that billing agent, they said they owed another $56. My neighbor currently pays 220. They told me that he must’ve got in when they were having some type of rebate.

    After receiving my last quarterly bill, service cost has increased AGAIN. This has doubled in the 4 years I have lived at my current address. I researched and found a cheaper company. I had not had a pick up since 10/17/22. When I called Republic to inquire about a late bill I had received and that I have not even had service, in fact my cart was still by the road with trash in it. I was told that they can pick up the container for $45, which I feel should not be a charge, this is part of the service. Luckily I had a vehicle large enough to be able to drop off the container without a charge.

    I was also told that the charges would come off my account since service was cancelled and no pick had been done since October. Well that didn't happen. They are currently stating that I am responsible for $123. Customer service was no help and does not seem to have any authority to make any decisions. Just telling me charges are valid....for what? The bill doesn't even make any sense. Today they are telling me that it is for 1 month of service plus an interruption fee. What service? I didn't even have a pick up.

    In the last month they have missed 8 of our 16 pick ups. We have called many times and can not get an answer of why the pick ups have been missed. We also get told they are going to send someone out to pick up the extra trash but they never do. I run 190 space mobile home park with 17 bins and have home owners complaining at our office because of the overloaded trash bins and the health and safety issues it's causing. I'm sure we'll still receive a 10k trash bill even though half our pickups have been missed.

    I have had nothing but problems with Republic Services for nearly the last 2 years. To start things off, I signed up for service with them in the end of March 2021. I was told that I would receive my trash and recycling cans by the 1st of April. I did not receive my cans until 3 whole weeks later, after multiple phone calls and emails with the business. I was made false promises that my cans would arrive after the first call, and was forced to contact them multiple times to get them to deliver them. Over the course of the following 20 months, they have skipped picking up my recycling no less than 15 times, causing me to spend copious amounts of my personal time contacting them via various means and asking them to provide the service that I pay for. I have tried everything.

    I submit a "missed pickup request" through their app every time, and on only 3 occasions have they actually delivered the service after my request. The rest of the time, after I get no action from my request, I contact them via social media and by phone. When I talk with someone, I am always met with the same response... "We are working as quickly and safely as possible to get your recycling emptied, we will share your feedback with the local team." AND NOTHING HAPPENS. Then I call someone again, or continue to engage with them via social media until they pick up my stuff. This can take upwards of a week and a half. I am currently at day 5 of my recycling bin sitting in front of my house, completely full. I have reached out numerous times to no avail. I have been made assurances that my recycling would be picked up... NOTHING. I have never had to work this hard with a company to provide a service that I pay for. It is completely ridiculous.

    We live in a neighborhood that has contract with Republic Trash and Recycling services. Over the past two years, their service has deteriorated significantly and irreversibly. Also, their customer service team has no authority or training except to state the obvious. Their CEO or public policy team doesn't respond to any social media questions or comments either. Our neighborhood was left looking like trash yard last week after their recycling crew decided not to show up and the company didn't communicate. Any extra trash is left by the curbside (even if they fail to show up for a week and know that there is additional trash because of their mistake). How can such a company be in business?

    Republic Services has not picked up the dumpster at my apartment building in over 2 weeks. Trash and garbage are strewn all over the parking lot, drawing rats and raccoons. I left VM for my account rep, and did not receive a return call. I spoke with another rep who assured me it would be picked up yesterday. It was not. I dealt with this exact situation back in the spring, for almost 4 weeks, and had to hire an exterminator for the rats that invaded my building, and a clean up crew for the garbage all over the parking lot. Here we go again, with no response from anyone at Republic Services, and due to the 3 day holiday weekend, no one is there to answer an emergency call until Tuesday. What a disgrace.

    I first used Republic services at home, pick up was timely but I would come home nearly every pickup day to trash all over the road and my yard because apparently, it's too difficult to get the trash from the can into the truck.. When my trash can was stolen and Republic was going to charge me FIFTY bucks to replace it, I just said, "enough is enough" and I dropped their service.

    Our business has no choice for trash and recycling outside of Republic services and in the 4 or 5 months that we've been paying for recycling, they can't seem to do the pickup without me calling! We've had a pickup 3 times TOTAL (supposed to be every 2 weeks) but after a month I am finally forced to call the supervisor to get a pickup. VERY frustrating! We pay for the service, shouldn't we be on a regular pickup schedule? I can overlook it happening the first time and maybe even the second, but this is now the third time. Unacceptable and I'm CONFIDENT that we have been billed a full month of service every month regardless of getting half the service (1 pick up a month vs 2 and the only reason it gets picked up once is because I call them).

    First they failed to pick up recycling for over a month. Second they took over 8 weeks to pick up the carts from my yard. Finally I was charged $90 to pick up the carts. Even before they were picked up. In the 6 times I communicated with them they never informed me about the pick charge.

    Experienced a recent house fire which was a total loss. I rented a 30 foot dumpster from Republic services which they required a 750 deposit over the phone. I paid the deposit and return the dumpster full in a matter of a couple of weeks. I was suppose to receive a credit back to my account of 355.91. I have had to call them three times now to find out when I will be getting my money back which each time they keep telling me it's going to be a couple of weeks while it's going on about 2 months now and still haven't received anything about my refund as far as an update. I called them today and they said it will be a couple of weeks. I need my money back they wanted it the second I ask for a dumpster I want the rest of my money that is owe to me as soon as they got their dumpster back. This is absolutely ridiculous and should never take this long to give someone their money back.

    We recently moved and our old trash and recycling service company is not in our new area. We went with Republic because they are one of few in the area that have recycling curbside pickup. We paid $150 in activation and drop off fees. We have had the service for only 5 weeks and the recycling was only picked up the first week. We get a weekly call that our pickup may be delayed 24 hours due to worker shortages, but the 24 hours pass and they never come to pick up. It has been missed for 4 weeks now and customer service has been contacted multiple times. Recycling bin has been on the curb overflowing for 4 WEEKS and we have a mountain of recycling backing up in our house. On the last call we were told that the issue would be escalated to management, but a week later and the missed pickups have still not been remedied and we have another missed pickup to report.

    This isn't the first time the worker has missed pick up. Lovely how you have to pay your bills on time or you won't get services. But it's okay for them to miss your trash bin that is right on the curb!!!! Request for missed pick up immediately when I noticed that the worker goes to pick up the bum ass neighbor's trash but misses ours??!! They're across from ours! How the ** do you not realize that???? The driver honks the lady worker and she gets right back on the back of the truck and they miss ours. Wow. Wonderful worker. Feels intentional. Our bin is always there on the curb on time. On time. We pay for these services beforehand. I checked today to see why they haven't picked it up and wow. It says pick up will be Monday.

    But will it???? Will it??? Nice to know you have to wait an additional three days for them to pick up their slack instead of notifying them to go back and fix their mistake. Awful. Just awful. So yes I am pissed. This is your fault. Not the first and definitely, I already know, won't be the last. Would never recommend. Terrible. How the heck do you miss ours. And only ours in the neighbor???? Retrain your workers to be attentive to details.

    Hands down the absolute WORST company I have EVER dealt with for any product or service. After many years of what seemed to be fairly reliable service, this past spring, summer, and fall (2022), their residential pickup services became increasingly erratic. Rather than weekly pickup, they’d come every 2-3 weeks after repeatedly missing their promised make-up days. Of course, they still billed us the same quarterly amount. We finally called them to terminate service, and then we put the bin out, sealed it shut with rope, and taped 3 large signs on it saying that we terminated the service and wanted the bin removed. But they didn’t come to pick up the bin; instead, their service truck periodically came to “empty” the sealed empty bin! (I guess their drivers can’t read).

    We had to make 5 calls to the local number and another 5 calls to their headquarters number before anyone picked up the trash bin almost 1 month later. But in the meantime, charges appeared on our bill, which we again had to call to rectify. (Interestingly, everyone on the phone was nice and accommodating. The problem is that the actual service providers were totally incompetent and never followed through on the promises of the phone operators, who wisely clarified that the survey they wanted us to fill at the end was about the service that they, the phone operators, provided and not the trash collectors!) As if that wasn’t frustrating enough, 6 weeks later, we got threatening emails that if we didn’t pay the $19.50 we owed them (for what???), they’d send it to a collection agency!

    We made yet another call to be told that they will credit us the charge and that the threatening emails were from their automated system, which they would have corrected during their quarterly audit! Oh really, and would the collection agency know that after the fact? How about the credit-rating services that would have dinged us for this spurious charge? The topper is that we found another service that is not only reliable, but charges almost 1/6th the cost! That’s right! The incredibly unreliable Republic national chain – with economies of scale – was charging us 5.7x what a local competitor is now charging us. And yes, we are kicking ourselves for having not comparison-shopped back when we first moved here.

    Charging late fees at new service with no notification to customer that service is in fact a new, separate company that requires new billing setup; customer service is robotic, repetitive, and not reasonable. Was not aware of any late charges, late payments, until I received a notice of service interruption and I promptly called within 2 hours of receiving said notice. I was unaware that autopay wasn't taking care of it and they were endlessly charging late fees.

    I had been using Republic Services for the past 3 years since moving into my home. My rate started around $90. I’ve been pinching pennies lately because daycare is taking a huge chunk of my income and when I looked at my bill, it was over $200. When I called to ask why it was so high, I was told that if people aren’t paying attention, the bill just keeps getting raised. That is absolutely ridiculous and definitely not fair to customers, especially since there was nothing ever sent to me telling me my bill would go up. When I asked to have it lowered back down, they said they couldn’t do that. I told them I am not paying my most recent bill because I have been over paying for who knows how long and I ended up going with another company for $80 per quarter. I’m continuing to receive emails about payment. I absolutely do not recommend using this company for your waste services.

    They have a long track record of bad services on Consumer Affairs and Yelp. It took 8 calls to receive a recycling cart that they didn't drop off on a new service. Received the trash but no recycling. They never called back when they said they would. Constantly missed the drop off times. They're also confused on what days pickups are. I saw the trash truck on Thursday, but kept telling me it's Friday. Also struggling to find my address. The numbers they provided for York PA dispatch office don't work. They made this ridiculous problem and can't solve it. All for a recycling can. It's not a complicated transaction. We're forced to use them. Next township meeting I hope to bring up switching to waste management. Truly mind boggling

    We have used Republic Services for a while. The last 5 months have been the worst though. We have to call all the time to see if they will be picking up our trash or recycling and then they don't. We haven't had our recycling picked up now for 6 weeks! The holidays are coming up and we have so much excess trash and recycling due to all the missed pickups. They always say they will escalate it or a supervisor will call us and nothing happens. For the last 5 months the excuses have been the same no workers, broken trucks, or Covid. We could understand maybe a month but this has been for almost half the year now. We have been cited by the city twice as well and told them and they say they'll make a note. Still no one comes to pick us up.

    Since they haven't picked up our recycling for a month I asked if we'd be refunded since they never performed the job we paid for and they told us no you already have a $10.70 credit. Which was from previous months they didn't pick up. The service really is a joke. We've tried to stick with them for as long as we can so we will be changing services. The home office is only 14mins away and they haven't picked up our recycling for over 42 days. It's unacceptable and I highly recommend going with any other service provider for trash and recycling!

    #RepublicServices is THE WORST! Our recycling was not picked up two weeks ago on its scheduled day and no one from the company called to reschedule. Friday, November 4 was the next scheduled pick up. I called on Thursday, November 3, to confirm someone would be there to pick up the recycling on my street. Spoke to a rude woman who was not helpful at all. Called again on Friday, twice, to confirm. Spoke to two nice reps this time. Both took great notes and confirmed someone would be there. Someone came alright. He purposefully took everyone’s trash on my street but mine. An unreliable and spiteful company. I’d like to say this is the first time I’ve experienced late and missed pick ups but it’s not! If I didn’t have to use Republic Service, I wouldn’t!

    Republic took over for Santek a couple years ago and service instantly went to hit and miss. Never had issues before and never DIDN'T have issues after. Supposed to have two pickups a week and there were times we went 10-12 days without service. We are a food manufacturer and needless to say we can't have trash laying around. Got a call last night telling me they are no longer able to service the account. Zero notice. He did mention there should have been a notice but we certainly did not get one.

    With all the excuses on drivers, trucks being broken and now this my assumption based on experience is there must be a serious financial issue. To do this to an industrial customer that can't just make a quick trip to the landfill is ridiculous and extremely unprofessional. That said at least this last incident is in keeping with our experience with Republic up to this point so at least they're consistent. I would like to mention a half hearted apology, while I guess at least on the edge of appropriate is less than useful at this point. DO NOT waste your time contracting with them. You will end up doing the same thing I am doing now which is scrambling for another service.

    I will give a zero star here if possible. We had a very bad experience with Republic Services. They missed pick up so many times, and kept charging us. When we started asking questions they then gave a refund and a discount, but still didn't come pick up. We finally canceled them. But they went ahead and charged us for another month.

    On calling again and again, they said they were waiting to pick up the bin from our premises, which happened more than a month later. By that time we had 2 months charge on the account for which I had to make too many calls to mark as refund. Now I call them again to ask about the refund amount, the representative says that they have been waiting for my call to request the refund. I couldn't make her understand how many times that request had been done. She was so frustrated and rude with me. I am fed up. Never again.

    My father owned a machine shop and had a dumpster from Hoosier Disposal for years. They let him have it and would charge to empty it when he needed. Come to find out after he passed away, Republic Services bought them out and was charging my father almost 650 DOLLARS a month just to rent the thing, plus fees for each time it needed emptied. He was only making around 30k a year running this shop, and a quarter of his profit went to this scammy company just to have a dumpster sit in there and get emptied like once a year. What happened to decent companies????

    Pickup of yard waste and recycling is unreliable. When I call about missed pickup they have lies handy: It will be picked up Monday, it will be picked up Tuesday, it will be picked up later today. Never happens. I have even stopped recycling, it's just too aggravating. Never a refund or discount for "inconvenience". Apologies don't mean anything.

    Republic Services missed the Thursday pickup. I checked my account. It shows that they changed this week pickup to Friday. But they did not do it on Friday. When I checked my account again, it shows that the pickup time was Thursday. Our community's bins are still waiting outside from last Thursday. They cannot provide the service and pretended they did. Does republic services know what the local people do? Very disappointed with the service.

    I would give Republic Services zero starts if applicable! Customer Service is horrible. Communication is horrible. You call to speak to someone and it is a 40 minute wait on hold. No one at their company speaks to anyone else within the company. I am thankful I took notes about conversations I had with representatives because when you speak with another one they have no clue about pervious communications to the company. I cancelled over 3 months ago and was told my account was zeroed out and now they want to send a made-up bill to collections. So worthless. Run!!!

    The week of July 18th, 2022 I started the process of calling Republic Services to cancel my service that following Monday. I called every day that week and was on hold for approximately 2 3 hours each day before I had to hang up. I finally got through on Friday, July 22nd, 2022, and was told my service would be canceled Monday, July 25th, 2022, and the bins would be picked up for removal from the property by, or on August 1st, 2022. None of that happened and I was notified by the property managers that the bins were still there. I again called just to be put on hold for hours and decided to email. On August 2nd, I received notice from the company of the email being received and that the issue would be resolved on August 8th, 2022 - and that I would receive my refund for all of August within 6-8 weeks.

    Approximately 9 weeks later, today October 10, 2022, I received an invoice from them that also falsely claims I still owe, even though I have in writing from the company that it was addressed and my refund was on the way. This is inexcusable and complete negligence by the company. This needs resolved and my refund needs to be issued.

    I have bulk item pickup once a month included in my service. Thought I would take advantage of that for once to clean up the garage. Called and scheduled an appointment for Monday September 19th, dragged an old dishwasher and mattress to the end of the driveway on Sunday night thinking it would be picked up Monday like I was told.

    Monday comes and goes, the bulk items are still at the end of the driveway. Called in Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and now Friday, and was told every single call that it would be picked up the following day before 6:30. Spoke to a manager at 3 pm on Friday who had no explanation for the 5, FIVE, missed pickups and is now promising Monday but I just know it won't happen.

    This is by far the worst customer service I have dealt with in my life. Why lie over and over again instead of just saying "Hey, we aren't picking it up, EVER" so I can find another company to perform the services. Of course, I was never offered a penny for the inconvenience pf dragging the items back into the garage every time it rains, not to mention, the mattress is killing the grass. How is this company still in business??

    I was initially on a bi-weekly pickup schedule but over a year ago, I changed to a weekly garbage pickup schedule. Constantly my garbage is not being retrieved weekly which is resulting in my calls to Republic Services. I'm told, "oh we have it documented in the system but it looks as if you aren't on the calendar for weekly pickups. Let me take care of that right now." All goes well for a few weeks and then it's back to the same routine, bi-weekly. Each time I call, I am informed I will receive a call back from a supervisor in 24-48 hours to which I am still waiting for those calls.

    We have been paying annually every September for a long time. We started getting extra add on bills since June. I would call the customer service and explain we don’t owe anything until September since we already paid for the year. The lady said it was a mistake and said she fixed it. Got another bill the next week. Called again. They claim they fix it but never did. Every week we would get another bill. They put a stop on our service in august cause we didn’t pay them, since each person I talked to claimed it was fixed. We got our annual bill for September and they increased our annual amount by almost $200. We decided to find a different company and called to cancel right after Labor Day weekend. Was told to have our container at the street on October 5th.

    Today 9-20-2022, received a bill for $97.05, I called and was told they don’t allow cancellations throughout the month, only at the end of the month. Even though we haven’t used their services for the month of September, we are still being charged. Also Megan informed me we will be paying another $30 for them to pick up their container. Megan was very rude during this conversation.

    Updated on 09/20/2022: Our pieces of bulk items were picked up today. Based on my previous complaint, we had furniture sitting at our curb a full week longer than promised. Based on the actions (primarily lies) I requested a discount on the pickup headaches based on the actions and untruths of the bulk pickup department. The response from Republic did not address this issue.

    Original: We contacted Republic Services on September 7, 2022 to schedule a bulk pickup of a couch and a loveseat. Republic Services scheduled our pickup for Wednesday September 14, 2022. My spouse and I are approaching 60 years old. Together, we pushed, pulled and carried the items to the curb on the evening of September 14th. Unfortunately, they did not pick up our furniture on the 14th. My spouse called Republic on the morning of September the 15th to notify them that we were missed. (We understand that mistakes happen. After all, no one is perfect.) We were informed at that time that the items would be picked up hopefully on Thursday but Friday at the very latest.

    When my wife called Republic late afternoon on Friday, she was transferred to the “bulk” department. My wife explained the situation to a young female that answered in that department. Her response was that we waited too long to notify them that we were missed. In actuality, we called Republic at 8:30am on Monday. The young woman lied to us (we can provide telephone records if necessary). She then changed her answer that Republic only picks up on Monday and Wednesday. She also informed us that these pickups errors happen “all the time” so we should not make a “big deal” out of the fact because it happens to everyone and often. I should also note that this woman was rude from the outset of the call. She also indicated that Monday, September 16th.

    Other than the extreme rudeness and the missed pickups, this has caused two other issues. First, we have had this furniture at our curb basically soaking up water and killing our grass. We have a Homeowners Association that frowns on leaving out regular trash pickups before dark the night before dark. Obviously, they are not overjoyed with old furniture lining the streets.

    Also, my wife and I had great difficulty getting the furniture to the curb the first time. If the HOA requires that we drag these items back into the garage the chance that one or both of us physically injures ourselves strictly because of Republic’s incompetence. Again, we understand that we are all human and mistakes happen. What makes this worse than a simple mistake was outright rudeness from the young women. First, by outright lying to us and secondly responding that this situation happens “all the time” which somehow makes our issue inconsequential.

    I have two accounts with Republic Services and the St. Louis account has added $100 and more per billing cycle for a Total Fuel/Environmental Recovery Fee whereas my other location has not. Both use the same diesel fuel, both use the same trucks, both locations has the same number of pick ups. When I called, I received mumbo jumbo as a response, to the point it was comical. There are other companies that haul trash, Republic Services acts like it is the only company in town. I will take my business elsewhere since I can no longer trust their billing practices. Too bad that I like the person who picks up my trash, but I cannot tolerate deceptive billing.

    Long time customer for 10+ years. We cancelled our recycling years ago when we found out there are no recycling centers in Ottawa county and they were throwing our recycling in the general trash. When the $680 annual invoice showed up for a single bin weekly disposal we cancelled our service immediately. Our service dates were 8/1 to 7/31, but the new invoice did not get e-mailed to us until 8/31. Our service was cancelled 8/31 and we removed our auto pay authorization information. In September they still removed the full $680 from our account for the next year's service without our approval. Now I have to wait 8 weeks for the crooks to mail me a check less the $100 for the one month service. I did call and they offered me $270 annual rate, after paying $482 last year. No thanks. I found local service for $240 annually, stay far away from Republic Services!

    I'm reading these complaints, and I don't know why we have not started a class action lawsuit for illegal business practices. I have also incurred various missed pickups, terrible customer service with zero help and more than 100% increase in bills over a 3 month period with zero explanation. After more than doubling my bill, Republic stopped picking up on a regular basis, and it seems to be more whenever they have drivers - so where is my increase bill going to! I was finally able to connect with a sales rep to reduce my bill which was great. HOWEVER, about a month later I received my actual bill, it was still 25% highly than what was agreed upon with the sales rep. HOW IS THAT LEGAL! This is completely a scam company and would be happy to see it go bankrupt.

    Despite over 23 calls for the last 23 days, they have still not resumed pickup of trash. This is the most disrespectful and uncaring company I have ever seen. They don't care about small businesses and only care about billing. We call, get courteous responses that "someone is coming out today", or "we will call you before 5" and we have yet to receive a single call-back, or have anyone come out and perform the service - yet they continue to bill!!

    Have been a Customer 10+ years. Rates continue to spiral up each quarter. Fuel charges rise and never roll back as fuel cost go down. The last straw was this past Labor Day when both their website service calendar and customer service hold message showed and said they were operating on a one day delay. Well guess what. Management in the Denver market decide to work their drivers on Labor Day and follow the normal schedule without notifying their customer. When I called they refused to do a follow up collection a day or two later forcing me to wait until the next scheduled pickup day. Unacceptable!

    Santa Ana recently switched to Republic and since then I have to call in 2-3 times a month because they miss picks up even though I have told them repeatedly what our business hours are and that they could even switch our pick up day as the company next to us gets 2 pick ups a week, a day before and a day after us, in the afternoon. Ask for a credit as I have to waste my time contacting them about missed pick ups and their reply was "so sorry, since you called in and we rescheduled service for a pick up in a day or 2 it was not a missed pick up". The current service from this company is the pits. In 5 years of having Waste Management service our location I may have called them 3 times in total. Totally unacceptable service and if I could leave a 0 star review I would!!!

    Used for 5 years and finally took time to get rid of this company. They only close account at the end of month, and will charge close to $100 to pick up their own empty trash bins. It appears that they slowly increase the monthly fee for long-time customers and try to benefit as long as you are not paying attention. The rate is over $270/quarter now.

    I had Republic at our old house and tried to transfer services to our new house. After them missing our trash pickup for a month and a half, I cancelled our services and went with another local provider. Republic tried to charge me to pick up the bins and I told them I was not paying because of the inconvenience and I just wanted my account closed. The service agent credited me and closed out my account.

    A YEAR LATER I get a mysterious $60 charge for bin pickup. Clearly, this had to be a mistake. Up to today, I have called 5 times over the past three months to talk to someone about this. Each time they said a supervisor would have to call me in 24-48 hours. None of these times did a supervisor call. Now I have an email saying I am being taken to collections in 10 days if I don’t pay. Ridiculous that nobody can call me back or take care of an unrightful charge and then try to take me to collections. Company is awful to deal with and scams you out of your money with fraudulent charges.

    Updated on 09/17/2022: I filed a complaint to Republic Services last week about their failure to pick up my trash. It is a weekly service so you can understand the importance of timely services. I was credited back for the week, but they assured me that they would do extensive research about what happened and get back to me. Needless to say, once the credit was issued, they felt their responsibility was done. When I got back into town this week, you can understand my astonishment that again my trash was not picked up.

    I called Friday AM. Again they put in a request for a credit and said they would "Escalate" my complaint and my trash would be picked up by a pick up truck or they would redirect a trash collector truck to take care of the problem. I have now gone two complete weeks without trash pickup and no reasonable answer at to when or how soon this simple function would be performed. Please understand Republic has one job to do in my neighborhood. Take heed, they are not good at what you hire them for. Avoid and find another vendor.

    Original Review: Republic failed to pick up my trash the week of Sept 5-9. My pick up day is Monday, which was Labor Day. I figured it would get picked up the next day. I went out of town Tues afternoon until Thursday afternoon. When I checked Friday, the cans were still full. I called and was told that they could issue a refund of $2.85. When I reminded her that the bi-monthly billing came to an average of $4.59 she was shocked that the numbers did not match.

    I assume the difference is set fees that Republic chooses to add to the bill. I then asked if she could verify that I had received such services that were on the bill. She was unable. In short, I am being asked to pay for something irrespective of if it is actually delivered or not. Now I have to manage the remaining trash in my home via another manner since both my cans are filled. Why can I not charge and inconvenience fee for the trouble that they have caused? If you have a choice in your area, stay away from this company.
