I had windows put in by Andersen in Michigan in the 1980s. Since I like those windows, I went ahead with them again down here. We have one large window in the middle in the living room and it's fixed. The rest of them are all sliders. The installers were great. They came, moved the furniture and took the curtains down. I'm 88 years old and couldn't do it. They took care of all that and put the windows in. They were done within four and a half hours for all six windows. They were amazing. They did a beautiful job and cleaned up very well.

I'm very pleased with the window that's in the living room. I was afraid that since I don't have my blind up there yet, we'd get a lot of heat from it. But there is no heat when the sun is shining directly on it. It's wonderful. We don't have any heat or cold coming into the house from those windows at all. I have a storm door that I had put in and that door is about eight feet from the window. That door gets so hot that it's almost impossible to open it sometimes because it burns my hands. I put my hand on the window from Andersen to see if it made a difference inside, and it was cool to my touch. I am very pleased.

Andersen was very customer service oriented. Every time we had an inquiry, they responded immediately. We got a bay window and the installation went smoothly and efficiently. I love the quality. There are four windows with the crank, and the crank is excellent. They set it up appropriately, and it lets in a lot of light. It's wonderful. It's the main feature of our living room.

A lot of window companies use vinyl windows and I don't like vinyl. It gets brittle over time. The windows with Renewal by Andersen are made out of a different type of material. It's a lot stronger that I ain't gotta worry about it warping. The quality is better than what I've seen out there with vinyl windows. However, it took a long time for them to make the windows. I expected a month but it took longer. But as far as the install, they did well. They were quick and filled them up pretty good. I got the patio door and some windows, and they all seem good. I felt some air coming in the other day from around there, so we get a little breeze. But for the most part, my utility has been lower. I did it to lower my energy bills, and I thought with Andersen, I'd do that.

I bought half the windows one time and then I wanted to finish my house and I put Andersen in the rest. We got about 15 double-hung windows. Plus the patio door. They got them faster than what they said. The installers cleaned up everything that they done. It all looks good. I like the quality. They're very easy to clean and to adjust pop out. We put them in specifically to try to reduce our heating bills and cooling. My wife is satisfied with it.

I had one window in my backyard that a boy that was shooting around with BB gun had shot a hole in it. Renewal by Andersen came and looked at it. I thought they warranted the window, but they didn't. They sent me a bill that said that they couldn't fix it. They wanted to charge me $100. These are $35,000 worth of windows. Overall, the windows are decent and good. But their PR is not very good.

We ordered the windows through Ryan Window and Siding, and it was installed by them. They were very good. We waited until the windows were done and then within two weeks of them being done, they were being installed. They did two of the big windows one day, and the next day, they did the following window and door. It was great. They cleaned up and took their stuff with them. I paid 32,000 for three windows and a door. It was pretty extreme. So far, we love the windows and the door. We love how easy they are to clean. We're hoping to get three more in the near future as money prevails.

I bought a picture window, sliders, and double-hung windows. It took them two days to install the windows and they did an excellent job. But there were 12 windows in my order and one of them had a crack in it because of shipping. A screw got over in the wrong spot and cracked it. They just came in and replaced it last week. Other than that, the windows are pretty good quality.

I'm a penny-pincher and I didn't wanna pay that much, but we decided to pay top dollar because we really needed some new windows and turnkey service. Renewal by Andersen did everything for us from beginning to end, and they told me what to expect and how long things would take. Installation was at least a two-day project. My house is old and it was par for the course. Things don't always go as initially planned. Besides that, I love the windows, and I'm very happy. They're great windows, but the jury is still out because we haven't had them very long and we haven't had to deal with any weather.

I had 13 windows put in by Renewal by Andersen, and it was two different installs. I bought seven windows the first go-around. I ordered those in mid-December, and they put them in in late March. Installation was unbelievably good. We had a snowstorm and the installer was one guy. He put in seven windows in a snowstorm, and it was the most amazing thing I've ever seen. The installer was on a ladder, 20 ft up. The wind was blowing, and people couldn't see anything. In May, I ordered six more windows, and I made sure that Renewal by Andersen got the same guy on the second install. He brought help, and they put in the windows in late September, so it was beautiful. They finished in five hours.

I love the windows. I switched out Pellas and went to the Andersen ones, and it's unbelievable. The way the mechanisms work (the way they lock and open the screens that come with everything) fits perfectly. I would buy a thousand windows from these people. It's the most unreal thing I've ever seen. I own two commercial properties (a shopping center and a commercial building), so I deal with a lot of contractors. These guys are by far and away the best I've ever seen.

We used Renewal by Andersen to replace windows in our master bedroom. My sister swears by Andersen Windows and she had all her windows and doors replaced by Andersen. We decided to go with Andersen when we replaced our master bathroom windows and then the rest of the windows in our house. The sales rep gave us the best deal that was out for our windows, so the cost was less than we thought, and the crew that installed the windows was amazing. The nicest guys came in and they had something on their feet so they didn't track mud in the house. They came for two days and cleaned up so well, people wouldn't even know they were there. I was in the house while they were doing work and I never even heard a lot of noise.

The crew was considerate, moved our furniture out of the way, and moved everything back. When they left, they asked us to look at everything. They were really good, and the windows are absolutely beautiful. People have come in and said, "Your windows are gorgeous." Our windows overlook the pool. Before, they were thin and came with the build of the house. Now, we have these huge windows and they are much better quality. I can also tell that our air is more efficient in that room than it used to be. The room used to get hot and it doesn't get as hot now.

They came in, took out the old windows, put in the new windows, made sure everything was clean and gave me directions on how long to wait before I could open them to make sure things set. TL;DR: Terrible workmanship, poor communication, lack of understanding of how their own financing plans work. I cannot stress enough how terrible this company is to do business with and that you should avoid them at all costs. My neighbors had Windows replaced by this team and recommended them to me. I have always heard how great Andersen is. However, my experience was terrible starting with the installation process. I had a great experience with the sales team. Although the pricing was outlandish, the quality and workmanship would show what I was paying for, right? WRONG. I replaced half of the builder's grade windows in my house. Mainly because I couldn't afford to spend 112K to replace them all!!! Once the installers showed up they did a terrible job sealing the new windows. They did this install in February, so it was nice and cold outside. I could see the air gaps and feel the cold air flowing in around the windows.

The installers said it was good. I had to get the project manager out to see it and force them to fix the issue. Then they put the framing around the windows quickly before I could see if they really fixed the issue or not. Fast forward to today, a thermal imaging camera shows the hot/cold spots surrounding the windows in the framing. You decide. Then when they were finished, the back door wouldn't lock properly. They didn't do a good job on the trim. We have "fancy" trim, and the installer tried to match what was done, but I don't feel they have the woodworking skills to do. They should have used a coping saw but instead did a half-a glue together joint job that is mediocre at best. Next, the painters came. They didn't sand down any of the trim before painting and it looked terrible, felt super rough, and they left globs of paint where it ran down on the windowsills. They also didn't finish the trim by the door on the floor.

They used different color of caulking/sealant and a cheap piece of paint grade wood that shouldn't be painted because of the location. So, we are left with an ugly trim piece that no one can do anything about. Apparently. This is now 8 months later, and they are still coming out to fix issues. Then, to top it all off, they didn't turn the bill into the finance company in time, so I have to go through the financing portion all over again and will end up with two loans for the same project. What a cluster **. I even called them and told them to put the financing through before the funding period ended and they said it was no big deal, they will let them add the last half of the loan later. Wrong. They will not. So here I am looking at much higher interest rates because they have increased exponentially since I first signed this project a year ago.

I can't believe how terrible this project is. The turnover rate and changes of people I deal with tell me they must be a terrible company to work for as well. They can't keep competent skilled labor and their administrative staff is lackluster at best. Also, they kept sending the same worthless talent out to fix the problems they made rather than getting someone else that knew what they were doing to come out. I cannot stress enough how terrible this company is to do business with and that you should avoid them at all costs.

But I have leakage and I wasn't sure where it was coming from. So Matt, the person who came, gave us some ideas, and we tried to do it. Then I called him back and I said that I was absolutely sure that it was coming from sliding door downstairs. He did that in a couple of weeks. I'm very pleased with the sliding doors. I saw the windows installed in my previous home and I was very specific that I wanted a full replacement, not a retrofit fit. They must have spent at least a full day just prepping those two openings so that when they put the new windows in, they're not going anywhere. They wanted to make sure that everything was strong and they did a lot of work. Once they did the prep work, they screwed the windows and they used very expensive industrial caulking. It bends and flows with the weather or the temperature. I was happy with them. And their prices weren't bad and I felt I got my money's worth. At some point, we'll get more windows from Andersen.

We had Andersen windows initially in the house, and so when we finally decided after 40 years it was time to replace them, we went with the same. The house was built in the sixties and they were the original windows, but they lasted all of that time. The cranks were just wearing out, and there was a lot of wood blocking views. So, we were ready for a change. I wouldn't buy anything else. The service was excellent from the time the salesman walked in, and we contacted them. They didn't contact us. We were shopping for windows and we had been thinking about this for a while. So from the point they got here to the point we are now, the service has been amazing. The installation was done by perfectionists. They did a beautiful job. They did it in only two days. I wish every company had the type of attitude that Renewal's customer service has. The products were expensive. However, with our experience thus far, they certainly have been worth it.

One of the windows came in cracked, and they were very disappointed. That has already been rescheduled to be installed on November 6th. They've done a wonderful job of keeping us informed of where they were in the process of the original order and when it might be installed. I can't think of anything that would discourage me from recommending Renewal by Andersen to anyone.

The salesperson listened to us a lot and then he was able to give us good feedback in terms of what we were thinking and what might work better or what he agreed, “Well, that would be a good idea.” He would just give us other ideas and was not trying to convince us with anything but give me the pros and cons of why we might wanna put a slider here or not put a flyer here, and maybe put a picture window. He was very knowledgeable, and I didn't feel like he was trying to sell us anything. He was just here to help us.

We couldn't believe how great the products looked. The difference was amazing. Also, they were such nice people and did such a good job. We were so pleased. Within 15 minutes of them finishing the job, some guy came in and said he was with the Andersen Windows Quality Control and he was checking their job. He checked all around to make sure everything looked good and he double-checked how the windows opened and closed and showed me some things, but the installers had left me a book and showed me how all the windows worked.

We bought three that are just total glass and do not open -- one in the bathroom so it was frosted, and we got one big window that opens up. The rep gave us a quote on how long it would take before the products would be available for them to install and that they would call us once they were available. We waited about a month. I was at work when they did the installation and the only thing I was disappointed with when I got home was that there were some smudges on the window. They weren't exactly totally clean but that was probably from them touching the windows to install them. First impressions are everything but it is what it is.

Also, when we talked to the rep, he said something about coming out the day that they installed them, but he didn't. I was a little confused about that. But he texted us and said he had another appointment and wasn't gonna make it. That was fine. Other than those, I could not believe the difference in our bedroom, especially with how hot it was this summer. The room is cooler than the rest of the house. The rep that came out and visited us brought samples of each of the window types, along with the presentation that he had on his laptop to go through all the different types that were available. The presentation was very in-depth and helpful. It was nice to have those visual representations of what we were looking at. He kept us up-to-date on the expectation for when the windows would be done and arrive and come out, and then came afterwards to check on it as well.

As far as the installation, we let them come on in and get it all taken care of. They put plastic on all the rooms where they could to keep any dust from getting out of there and as well as keep the AC to where it was and trying to cool the whole outside. They were able to do three the first day, and then the next two the second day. They took out and then put back in what they could do in a day. They didn't go over the top and try to take all five out at once and then put themselves in a bind.

They did an excellent job and they let us know exactly what they were gonna be able to do that day and didn't try to get overzealous and rush anything. They stayed to make sure everything was done and sealed up and caulked and they went over the explanation of how to use them all. They made sure that throughout the whole process, they stayed in communication. Overall, the quality is worth the cost on there. The cost is within the expectation. The rep was upfront with it as well. So, we knew what we were signing up for. I'd recommend Renewal by Andersen at least even for a sit-down consultation just to go through their options.

We liked the benefits of what Renewal by Andersen presented, the history, the type of window, and what we wanted for our house. We were throwing so many things at Jill, the sales consultant, and I was surprised she even kept her head on straight. She was here for almost three hours because our initial concept was a little different than what we ended up with because of the cost associated with it. Between my husband and I, our thoughts about what we wanted seemed to be different. Jill was great. We liked her very much. She was approachable and she seemed to listen to what we were asking for.

As far as the installation, we waited for two months, but part of it was our delay because we had our air conditioner go out. It was a two-day install. We're super happy. As soon as they put in our first four windows, we were like, "Oh, my God." The screen is such a fine mesh. It's in the inside. It's really hard to see it. It's really hard to know that you have a screen on there. We love the looks of the product and the ease of use.

We had our second installation with Renewal by Andersen and it was very smooth. We kept the same shape of the windows. We just removed the grid that was in the windows. So they're just simple windows. Some of them are picture windows, and Andersen puts a real pretty trim on them. They have a real pretty trim that matches these other windows that we have in the house.

The installation was painless. We followed all the instructions that they gave us. When the crew came in, they had their own vacuum cleaner. They would clean after themselves. They came at 9:30 and worked until about eight at night. They had all the windows installed and then came back the following day to finish puttying up or doing what they needed to do. It was wonderful.

I had an extraordinary and very satisfying experience with Renewal by Andersen. They were very professional from start to finish and just top-shelf. We had them come out and they made their presentation. They were substantially more expensive than the others that we had talked to. At first we did not pick them. But there was a follow-up call from the salesperson's upper management that came out and talked to us. Her name was Alicia and she came out. She was extraordinary. She said, "What we can do, because we are a manufacturer, we can redesign some of the windows that may be a little bit less expensive." We were replacing some windows that were opened. She said if we put a stationary window there, that will lower the cost.

The way she came back to us with some redesigns of windows lowered the cost down a little bit but not a lot. We were just taken aback by their advanced technology and the manufacturing. They are totally vertical and have no outside contractors. Alicia came out when the job got started as well as after the job was done. There were a couple of things that needed to be taken care of later on because of some supply issues. She was always in contact with us to let us know that, "It's here in stock and here's the appointments. Can we still confirm these days and times?" We did. We ended up spending more money because we even took out one of our single doors and had Andersen install a sliding glass door.

We're still getting emails and texts from the general manager. One of our screen doors had a slight imperfection on it for the sliding glass door and they said, "Nope, you keep this one and we'll have another one on order." It's being installed next week. I am a builder by trade and I know what it's like to deal with vendors that say they wanna come out and do something and they don't do it or they come out and do it and they're late and it's halfway done. I wish all of my trade that I do business with to build homes were as good and as professional as Andersen. My job and my hair would be a lot better.

Also, there's nobody that can touch the quality of Andersen. If everybody had the chance to listen and hear their sales pitch and see the quality of work, they would spend the extra money to go with this kind of quality. You get what you pay for. The cost was more than our budget was allowing. But their warranty policy is a lifetime.

Renewal by Andersen did a sliding glass door for my primary residence and I've been happy with what the installers did. The salesman, Alan, was very thorough and professional. He was willing to listen to whatever mild complaint I had. But there were issues with dispatch and with collecting the invoice. Then, on September the 26th, I had two 4x6 windows installed at my studio apartment in Denver. They use the word clad to describe the windows which are white on the outside. When I called Alan to order, he came out the next morning to do the measurements. He gave me all the information about who I needed to call two days prior to make sure that the they had the ability to call my tenant so that they could gain access to the building.

The installers put the windows in the truck at about 6:37 and they called me at 7:15 because they had not received the dispatch memo that I had given them the day before. But they knew the address in Denver, and they had my phone number as the owner and the one that made a half down payment. So, I gave them the name and phone number of my tenant. I told them that she was expecting them and to call her when they were 20 minutes out. And that was what happened. I met them at the place and both guys were very professional, clean and precise in what they were doing. I was in the studio apartment making phone calls and texting for a period of about two-plus hours while they finished putting the final touches on things.

They said the installation was a half-day job and that if they got there at 8:30, they'd be done by 12:31. They were able to meet that timeline and when everything was good to go, I flipped them a 20 and told them to go get some pizza. They were in a little bit of a hurry to want to make their second appointment, but they didn't rush and do a bad job. However, on one of the two windows, the handles broke up at the top. So, they put in a service order and completed that. I'm pleased with the quality of the windows I received and it was at a very fair price. But trying to navigate through the link that Renewal by Andersen sent me was very tricky. It was for reviewing the work of their subcontractors which I understand is part of their bonus. But I'm in the mountains and I'm challenged technology-wise. They also get lousy marks for whatever the heck they're doing in billing and invoicing. And they get a failure in dispatch.

The reps were extremely responsive, prompt and courteous, and the sales portion exceeded my expectations in every way. We had already made the decision to use Renewal by Andersen before they arrived and I was laughing as the sales guy continued to try to sell me on the quality windows when I already knew the quality. That's a good problem to have.

The installation team that came out did an outstanding job. They were originally supposed to come on a Thursday and a Friday and we got a call on a Wednesday morning. They had gotten ahead of schedule on another job and they asked permission to come a day early. I said, "Absolutely." They did a phenomenal job installing the windows and got all of them done on the same day. The new windows are exactly what I was hoping for. They were excellent.

Overall, it was a great experience. In fact, we just noticed one of the screens on one of the windows has a puncture and it's clearly from something that happened in installation or shipping. We reached out to Renewal by Andersen and they've already been very responsive and they're gonna sort it out and get us a new screen. I was pleased to hear that because one of the worst things that could happen is to spend that much money on something brand-new only find that at some point, somebody punched a small hole in the screen. But even with that, I'm still extremely pleased.

There was a bad hailstorm here in June, and I had a couple of windows bust out, and I made the decision that I was gonna go with what would be the most energy efficient. I dealt with Lowe's in the past in having windows replaced, and they told me my windows would be in by X date, and it was five months past that date when I finally got my windows. I was like, "I'm not dealing with Lowe's again." Having gone through some of the glass companies in town, I said, "We need somebody reputable. I know it's gonna cost us an arm and a leg, but I just want something that's gonna be energy efficient and something that's gonna be good."

We went with Renewal by Andersen. They met with us at the beginning of July, and they told us it would be two to three months while they built the windows specifically to the dimensions we needed. We went with what we could afford because two of my windows are great big windows, and one of them no longer met safety standards. I had to have the front two windows replaced. It was pretty pricey. On the downstairs one, we opted to just make it a plate glass window only because I couldn't afford to put in all the pretties and have open windows, but the windows are much thicker than I realized they would be. I've noticed the difference in the house already and how much energy efficient it's been.

We had three windows in total but they probably considered it six windows because of the different components that they had to do. The upstairs window has one of those little oval pieces at the top. It looks beautiful, but I would never intentionally do it. I'd recommend them to friends. The only downside for me is the cost. I'd say, "If you can afford it, I'd go that way." Just looking at the windows, the thickness versus the thickness of the windows that I just had replaced two years ago, it's night and day.

Updated on 10/03/2023: All the responses that RBA gives to negative reviews are all the same. The quickness of the response seems to be computer generated. I don't seem to be able to find any consumer responses to their responses that indicated that anyone ever got any relief. Their response is just to check off a box and has nothing to do with changing their desire to resolve a customer's issue with their product. Their real response is to do nothing and outlast the custom actions to actually get the product that was promised. Their salespersons and employees that interact with customer all give the same platitude of "We will do whatever it takes to make it right". It should say, to be accurate if they all said "If you have any issues with our product or installation we will ignore you until you give up and shut up." They know that legal actions will cost the customer more than the job is worth.

I naively believed the TV promo's and didn't do my due diligence and research this company. Had I done that research I would not have a installation 7 month over due with windows with 1 locking device instead of 2 and a $25K front door that is 3 inches smaller than the opening that they measured twice. Now they won't even talk with me or my attorney. I now wonder if they will ever finish the install even with the mis-measured door. A reasonable offer to accommodate their incompetence would be accepted.

Their initial offer of $2K is not reasonable for the egregiousness of their actions and the installation of inappropriate windows and door. All that read this review should beware, they will do nothing to "make it right". No matter how many times they spout their talking point that they will make it right, unless you are willing to spend outrageous legal fees to force them to do what they say they will do because it is the right thing to do. Believe nothing they say!!!

Original Review: Signed contract in December 2022 with a completion date to be in March 2023. In March I was informed that my project had been placed on hold because of a question on whether windows were to have 1 or 2 locks and if the 3 windows ordered without screens was correct. Both issues could have been resolved with a phone call. The project was restarted when I complained with an adjusted completion date of end of June 2023. RBA was informed that the windows were to have two locking devices and the screens were not to be included. When the window were delivered and installed they only had 1 locking device and screens were included that were to be excluded. What was the purpose of the delay if they were going to do what they wanted.

The custom front Door that cost $25K was to be a direct replacement for my front door. When delivered it was 3 inches more narrow than the door being replaced. The installers attempted to shim the opening and install the door without informing me that the door was smaller than the opening. I did notice and stopped the install until the error could be corrected. RBA refused to replace the door with a correctly sized door and offered $2K as an adjustment.

Offering the adjustment is an admission that their door isn't the door ordered. I had the project on hold while I explored my legal options since all the above kerfuffle was cause by RBA's management's incompetence. I asked for only $4K as an acceptable adjustment to accept the improperly sized door and the windows with the wrong locking hardware. The installation crew stopped the project 8 July 2023 leaving the front door lacking trim and paint. The door is still in its incomplete state of installation as of today 26 September 2023. I will update this review with a more complete narrative with attached photos.

We got windows that open fully and do not have any lattice work in them or little white squares. Just plain glass that opens like a door. The quality is good. Renewal by Andersen's installers came in and covered everything in the house with plastic so it wouldn't get dirty. And they were there half a day and cut out the windows, put in the new ones. They were nice. There was only one of them that spoke English very well. The windows are expensive, but I like them.

The team that came out to do the installation was absolutely fabulous. It was a one week process. They finished it in two days. They had to drive from Oklahoma City out to little town of Heavener which was about three and a half hours for them. So they worked diligently until the work was completed. I can't tell you how disappointed I am with our Renewal by Andersen experience. We hired them to fix a leaking window. The day after installation, the window was leaking. After two months of asking for someone to come assess the issue, the employee "who no longer works there" said we were sold "the wrong window". After many more months of contacting them to fix it and not hearing back, I finally got to the regional manager through LinkedIn, who offered me a new window at the discounted price of $1,800 without acknowledging the sales person's error, saying the leak "was not their fault."

Now two years later, every time it rains and I have to put a bucket on the window sill to catch the leak, I'm reminded of how awful I feel about the whole experience. To add insult to injury, I'm still paying for the leaking window (with interest) and still getting promotional mailings telling me I'm a valued customer. What a horrible experience for us as first time homeowners. So much for lifetime guaranteed.

After 9+ hours of working in our house, my wife could find ONE THING she had to do to clean up after they departed- she really appreciated that. Then, he let us know about all the financing options, and he showed us pictures of their previous installations and some models of the windows and what they would look like. I bought one picture window and a window that slides to open. The installers showed up and told me what they were gonna do. They took out the old windows and disposed of those for me, and then, they installed the other ones. We really like how the windows look. They're much nicer looking than our previous windows. I had to go through one of their approved contractors for the 100 series that I needed, which I don't like because it's paying markup upon markup. I couldn't just buy direct and have someone else install it. It comes with a lifetime warranty, though. But the approved contractor gave me a different timeline when I first met with them and then when I actually went to order, he told me it was the three-month timeline. The lead times are a little ridiculous for how long it took to get my windows.

The installation was pretty simple. They subbed out another contractor to install it and it went pretty smoothly. They got the windows in in one day but they put the wrong aluminum trim on it so, I had to wait another three weeks for them to come back out and fix that. After that, they had to come and fix the siding so, it took a lot longer than I expected. But they corrected it so it was all good. Also, the windows seem to be performing pretty well. If you're planning on getting windows replaced, they're good windows. Just know they're gonna take a long time and they're more expensive than some of the other lower quality brands.

I liked Renewal by Andersen's reputation. I purchased sliders, picture windows, and a single window with two panes that go up and down. They called. They set up an appointment. The rep was on time. I was most impressed with his friendliness and professionalism. He’s courteous. We talked for about an hour. We decided on what I wanted. We made our first 3rd down, and he ordered the windows for me. He told me approximately when they should be ready after checking, and got back with me with that time. When the windows were received, I paid him the second 3rd and I paid the final 3rd when they came in and installed them on the day they said they would. The installers cleaned up nicely after they were done. The site looked better than when they came. The installation was beautiful.

Quality of service is excellent. They pointed out some of the difficulties with my home and some of the things I need to take care of that they couldn't so that the windows would last a long time. There's some leakage going around my roof. They pointed that out to me so I could take care of it. They weren't allowed to go beyond their area, but they pointed those out so I could do it or get someone else to do it. They took care of me to make sure things would last. I really appreciated that.

The windows are wonderful. The up and down window works well and lock easily. The sliders are easy to manipulate back and forth. The screens are easy to take in and out. The exterior trim was excellent. The caulking they did was excellent on the inside and the outside. As far as the cost, it was a little steep, but then you pay for good quality. If I get more windows replaced, they’ll be coming back. I'll tell others to look into Renewal by Andersen. It'll be a long-lasting product.

We had two sashes that had scratches on them and they immediately noticed them and told us about them, showed us where they were at, and then they came out and replaced them very shortly thereafter. We purchased a couple of sliders, a triple, and some singles. They told us that they would check in with us periodically but once they sold the windows, I never heard from them again. I picked up the phone and told them I hadn't heard anything from anybody about my windows. They said they'd been calling me but they'd been calling my home phone and I had not been home. You have two phones, you tell them which one you have, and they call the home phone that don't even get used. Then they send mail to the physical address, but you don't get mail there. You get mail at your post office. They just didn't communicate very well.

They said the installers would be here on a certain day and then, a guy called saying he was gonna be installing my windows. The next thing I knew, they were calling me again and telling me to open my gate. I opened my gate and there came this van that was pulling a trailer, which I assumed were my windows. The installers had T-shirts on with Renewal by Andersen but it's really kind of crappy that Renewal can't supply them a van with their name on it -- a proper business van. But the work was fine. The installers covered up all the furniture and took really good consideration about the house. They made sure that they didn't tear up or mess up anything and they cleaned up all the mess. The installation took them one day. They were in here by 10:00 and they were gone by 4:00.

To begin with, I wanted to know how much the windows and door cost but was informed by the salesperson that Renewal by Andersen doesn’t provide detailed invoice. They only provided me with a flat fee. I never knew that the cost of installation was a separate amount. I seriously feel I was overcharged. When I explained my requirements on the windows I wanted installed on my sunporch, I was disappointed in the windows that were installed. (Too large.) There were a few miscommunications with the actual date for the installation. The windows and door were installed but the installer will need to return to perform rework because one of the windows is white on one side and a different shade of white on the other side. Nail holes can be seen on the door frame and need to be filled and painted.

I was informed that my total cost for the windows (which I believed would include installation) jumped up drastically by an extra $6,500.00. I reached out to the general manager after the installation and found out I could have received a detailed invoice from the very beginning. I would not have followed through with this transaction if I had known the true cost for the windows and door. I offered feedback to the general manager that his sales reps should be required to have a checklist to go over every detail that should be discussed with any potential customers. The sales rep should have provided a computerized image of what my windows would look like.

Renewal by Andersen is attempting to make things right by providing handles to the sliding windows that I have difficulty opening. Also, Renewal by Andersen has reduced my bill by about $2000.00 for all of the hardships for doing business with them. I’m just stating the facts of my experience with this company. I’ll need more windows in the future but I’ve learned my lesson the hard way. Next time I’ll obtain quotes from a number of companies and not put my faith in a single company. I’m a single woman and about to retire soon, I feel like I was taken for a ride with this purchase.

I had a negative experience from trying to work with Renewal by Andersen. This happened due to the structure of the contract and the non-customer-oriented organization of its preparation. Here are the inconsistencies in the drafting of a contract for the replacement of a door that I worked on:

    - Each page of the contract has a mandatory signature, but the page depicting the subject of the contract with a description of its main features (in my case, the subject was a door) does not have a signature, which makes the subject of the contract as if unrelated to the contract.

    - The page with the image of the subject of the contract was located at the very end of the contract, which breaks its connection with the pages describing the subject of the contract.

    - There is no blocking the completion of the contract in case of not signing any specific page of the contract (for example, the contract termination page), which undermines the legitimacy of the contract and negatively affects the knowledge of the customer.

    - Crediting the contract by a bank should not be part of the contract, since its current inclusion makes the crediting a mandatory part of the contract (which it should not be) and creates additional problems when the customer contacts the bank in the case of a contract cancellation (as in my case).

    - Electronic signing of the contract is convenient, but 15 pages of the contract take time to carefully review it. Therefore, signing should be carried out after the customer has received an e-mail with the text of the contract and carefully studied it - otherwise, the likelihood of an error in the contract and the need to terminate it increases.

A summary of my experience with “Renewal by Andersen” is that organizing contract work increases the likelihood of contract errors, taking longer than it should due to errors, and creating a negative image for the entire company.

I had to do three or four windows but I didn't have three or four damaged windows. That was ridiculous that they wouldn't fix my window. They said they have a sister company with the name of ReBuildit, and they would do one window. They came out and gave me an estimate. But it was a lengthy time for them to even come out. It was due to them ordering the custom window which was disappointing to me because I thought they'd have it on stock. It's a typical size window. The reason I chose to go with them was due to the quality of the window. It was supposed to be Fibrex. But it was super expensive. They say they're affordable, but I live in a good neighborhood, and every person who has found out how much I paid to have that window replaced thinks I got ripped off paying over $4,000 for one window.

I purchased three patio doors. I'm very happy with them. I got the estimate in May and Renewal by Andersen told me it would be the end of July or first of August. I expected it the first week of August, but it was the last week in July. So, they were on target. The rep got here on time and was very helpful. He measured the doors and took all the particulars and explained to me how the windows would help with the efficiency. They took atest thing to see if heat came through, and it was, from the outside in. He showed me the different products available to me. I told him what kind I wanted and he took me through the catalog and showed me different colors of hardware and styles.

He explained that there would be a person out within a week and to take measurements again to make sure everything was perfect. And that when the guys would come out, they would do their job, do it good and as quickly as possible, and that happened too. I gave him a deposit and he followed up with me a couple of times between the ordering and the installation. When they ordered them, they let me know they had been ordered. And he followed up a couple of times to let me know they hadn't forgotten us, that they were waiting on the doors. And he also came out when they were being installed. He genuinely loves the product and was very helpful. The best thing about them is they cleaned up their mess. And they prepared to put a plastic thing up to keep as much heat from coming in as possible. They prepped as good as they could and they were as quick as they could.

I picked Renewal by Andersen because of what they say on their ads. Also, the weather is really hard on everything so I like the 20-year warranty. Their reps were very good. The guy that did the consulting on what we needed and the sizing was very down to earth. I didn't feel pressured doing it. He was very upfront with the cost. I liked Renewal's incentive package around the financing charges.

The installation went very well, too. I thought the team did a great job. They sent out a very experienced team. We did have a problem with the install. When we got done, the windows on the inside didn't look like they were very professionally finished. The team said, “Your house is always framed up one way, and we measure it and come as close as we can." There's still some gaps in the spaces, so they filled that in with caulk. They did a pretty nice job with the caulk, but it didn't look like a finished product on the inside. So, we were very unhappy with that.

I talked to the sales guy and also the technical guy, and I took pictures of it, and I talked to the team that installed it. They said, “Yeah, you need to talk, talk to these guys. We know there's things you can do.” The lead on the installation immediately said, “We can fix this pretty easy.” He had experience as a master carpenter and did a lot of trim work. He said, “It's not that hard to fix. I just can't fix it for you right now until we get approval to fix it. But I would definitely talk to the guys.” So, I talked to Renewal's team and a guy came out and he said, “Yeah, that doesn't look right." They stepped up and they fixed it, and it came out great.

We did our house in two phases, and the first phase was on the front of the house. The front of our house has very hot southern exposure. We have big trees out front that block this thing in the summer. But even in the summer, we could immediately tell the windows made a huge difference on the heat in the house. I really like that it blocks a lot of the damaging rays. In the winter, you'd be shocked at how much a southern exposure gets hot. We have these special shades when we first built the house because they didn't have this technology. We had these special thermal shades, but it blocked this beautiful view we had.

We could never open the windows because it was too hot in these southern exposure rooms. One of them was this huge, beautiful living room we have. We couldn't open the windows because it got too hot, and then it was cooking everything in there and the rays were destroying the furniture and the floors. We noticed immediately that that was not true anymore. So last year, we were able to keep the windows open most of the time, and it added so much to the ambience of the house.

The price is a lot. You pay for what you get, but we did do some other windows in our lower level, and we've been satisfied with them. Andersen was expensive, and it almost kept me from doing the deal, but I feel like I really got a quality product out of it, and I got this installation guarantee where they would come out and fix no matter what happens. Overall, I'm very satisfied.

One of the big reasons why we really wanna go with Renewal is they're a very reputable company. They are top-notch. Another reason why my wife and I wanted to go with them is it's a streamlined process. Renewal make the windows and install them -- there's no middle man. The chances of something getting messed up are a lot slimmer. Also, one of my coworkers got windows done by them and he said that they did an awesome job and in my opinion, word of mouth is a little more meaningful. Dwight, the sales guy was very knowledgeable and helpful. He didn't try to upsell us on anything and he was more taking in concern of what we needed. He gave us a lot of good information. For instance, he told us that at our elevation, triple-pane windows aren't really necessary and it's just an extra cost. The way that he described it made total sense.

The people who installed the windows were very professional, courteous, and nice. They worked very well and we're very happy with the overall results. The only issue that I ran into was that they scheduled the install for the 21st. I called on the 5th and told him that we needed to reschedule it because my dog didn't have doggy daycare that day. I got a call from the installer on the 21st saying he was on the way. It turned into a little headache issue but they got it resolved within a couple of hours. Then, they scheduled it on the 28th for a morning install but it got pushed in the afternoon so I ended up taking a night off from work. Other than that, they did awesome and we're gonna be returning customers for our doors.

I was in the building business for a while, so I knew Andersen windows were good. We wanted to replace our windows, so I started looking at windows for replacement, and I really felt like Andersen was, by far, one of the best products. The rep from Renewal, Sarah, and her husband came over initially. They had a great presentation, but I was already sold on it. So, it was just affirmation of what I had already researched online. They did a really good job of measuring the windows and showing us how much it would cost, and also showing us how they could do it partially, instead of having to do it all up front, and discussed all the different types of payment options. We were able to complete all the documentation that we needed to on that day. Then it worked. It was very nice and easy.

For right now, we got four bedroom windows installed. They are all big double-hung windows. They did the installation in one day. We scheduled and got all the stuff moved out from around there. My husband got neuropathy in his fingers, and he couldn't get the blinds down. They were able to do that for us. Then they went to work and stayed at it until they were finished. They cleaned up after themselves and left.

The windows are really beautiful. Also, we noticed a distinct temperature drop in our bedroom. Part of the reason why we replaced the windows was because it was so hot. We had lost a tree and so we lost our protection from the western sun. Now, we could tell a huge difference. It's five degrees. So, it was definitely worth it. We love our new windows. We're glad that we did it. We'll be replacing the rest of them.

The installers were great and the job took a full day. The windows are really good and I'm very satisfied. Renewal did a very good job of communicating from the sales team, the sales agent that came down once I reached out for a consultation to ordering to the installation team.

It took a while to get everything done because the front door had to be specially fabricated, but that was fine. They kept me informed. The products are expensive, but they seem good. If they were a few thousand dollars cheaper, they'd be perfect. The installation was good. The sales guy was helpful and not too pushy.

We had some other vendors come out and give us estimates. They were going to replace our vinyl windows with vinyl windows, but Andersen said that they advertise that but their products were not vinyl, they were composite. We got them to come out to give us an estimate, and even with the 25% discount, we were a little shocked on the sticker price. The whole project cost over six figures and we got a lot of windows in our house. We decided to get one window and see how we like it. Then once we get the first window paid off and we liked what we got there, we may start changing other windows each year and slowly go through the house when we can afford it.

We chose a window in one spot over the sink and we really went with that window because of the design that they offered. It had a picture window and on the two windows off to the side of that picture window, they slid instead of opened up and down. We decided to go with that because that window that's over our kitchen sink is 106 inches. We have a pretty view outside our kitchen, across our property, so we got that to get rid of the divided-light. The installation took half a day and the only thing we had to wait on was the window to come in, which took two months and a half months from the time the rep placed the order to the time the installers came out and put the window in.

The installer was very professional and protected all parts of the house. I pointed out that there was a defect on the window that came from the manufacturer from when it was built. The window was a bronze color and I could see some silver. Two pieces of trim looked like they were cut short and that installer took pictures and put it into the system. Then I got an email that they've ordered those pieces. And when they get them in, they'll call me to get the installer to come replace them.

The other thing was, when the guy who come out and did the measuring, I wasn't home. But we called and I asked them how they were going to trim out the window once it's installed because I have cedar. They said the installer will bring cedar with them but I may have to stain it because they didn't have that, to which I agreed. But when the installer came out, he didn't bring any cedar. He said he wasn't told to bring any and it wasn't on the PO. But I told him no fail because I've got extra cedar in my barn, leftover from the construction of the house. So I went and got some cedar that was already stained. He took the boards I had, fixed it, and did the trim with the wood I had. I also told the installer that if we get some more windows done, I will have some cedar here and it will be stained. Just in case something like that happens again, so they wouldn't have to have a second trip out here.

So far, we love our new window because it's makes a big difference. We had divided-light on those two side windows, but now, we don't have any divided-light. It's wide open. The other part we love about it is the screens where you cannot tell if there are screen on the side windows or not. They don't use a normal window screen anymore and they use what they call a mesh. In one of my existing windows, the screen is darker and a little bit distorted. So, your view is distorted with the screen on there versus the top of the window that has no screen. On our new window, there are screens on the two side windows that slide, but they're not distorted.

The windows and the sliding door are as good as they get no doubt about it, super high quality. Communication within the company and between the company and us was very poor. It improved when a man called AJ got involved. They measured our door opening missed by three inches, the door was too big. They said if we accepted the door they would take $1,500. off our $24,000. cost if not we would have another six or seven months, so we accepted. Making the opening bigger was no small thing as are walls are cement. They cut them with a saw that used water. The water damaged our laminate floor that is no longer manufactured so to repair the whole floor would have to be replaced. I showed this to AJ and thought he would give us a additional discount, he didn’t. The damage is not very noticeable but you also don’t have to look very hard. If I had to do it over again I’m not sure if I would use Renewal By Andersen.

It doesn't expand and contract like vinyl. They gave us a bid and even though Andersen was more expensive than other companies, we decided to go with them because it appeared to be a better product. We had a little problem at the start of the installation. The first crew that came out had heat exhaustion and had to leave. They kind of haphazardly left everything all over the place and said they wouldn't be back for a couple of days. We couldn't wait a couple of days because the job was half done. I got the 400 series from Andersen. I had certain time constraints, and I spelled it out very clearly when I first ordered the products and signed the contract. The first day, the installers arrived way too early, and that was a problem. And while they did do a good job, they didn't follow through. Aside from the windows, they were to have done other things. The windows needed to have been stained before they went into the house, and they did not help me with that. I didn't understand they needed to be stained first, and it's been hard finding someone that will go in there and stain them after they're installed. So, I'm not happy with that at all. After I got them in, I went on Andersen's website. That was where I learned all kinds of information online. It could have been done very easily. They could have delivered them to the garage, somebody could have come and stained them, and then they could have installed them.

So it was fine. The whole process was great. It went faster than I thought it would. They even threw in handles on my windows at no extra cost because my windows have never had handles, which made it hard to get them up and down. So they did that on all the windows and that has been an enormous help. I love it. I've had compliments from friends that have come over and taken a look at the windows. Renewal by Andersen was awesome. We were going to look at some other people, but once their rep, Chad, came out and talked with us, we decided to go with them even though they were a little bit higher. But the quality of work and windows that Chad told us was what we were wanting. He was very honest, knowledgeable, and quite assuring that he could find us financing with Renewal By Andersen. He seemed like a homeboy and he kept in contact with me before and after the windows were installed. He also came out and looked at the job. And for some reason, they left off a window. We had eight windows, seven of them were installed, and I still don't know what happened to the eighth one. It was marked, but Chad is looking into it to see what we can do to get that eighth window installed. I told him I'd just go to Home Depot and try to find one, but he told me to hold off until he can find out what he can do to help us out.

We got double-hung windows which would let out and allow us to clean them and then just put them back in place. We started the process with Renewal in March and the windows were here and installed in June. Chad told us to give the installers two days, but they did it in one day. The whole crew came out and it was a good team concept the way the four of them worked. I had rotten wood and they replaced all of that. They made sure that the windows were fitting properly and even when they were working, they put down drop cloths and screens where dust wouldn't be flying all over the place. I told Chad that the commercials were true to themselves. The exact thing that they said on the commercials, that was the way it happened here at my home. They were very clean and precise. We were happy with them and they did a very professional job. I love our windows and everybody noticed how nice they look.

I bought six double-hung windows and I started setting it up during the late winter of last year and the rep warned me that they would take six to eight weeks to get here. He seemed confident about himself. He said that I would be getting a quote via text on my phone and that happened. There was just a final total on it though and there was no breakdown of what things cost. So for all I know, he could have jacked up the prices and I wouldn't have even noticed it. Or maybe he didn't use all of the six tubes of caulk for example, but charged me for them. I asked him and he said that when I fill out an Andersen application for my order, there’s no place to put that. I was thinking to myself if a piece of paper doesn’t work. So, that was a little shady.

I was watching the contractor who did the installation and they looked very nice. There’s a tape membrane so that the water drips out and not in but the guy only made one strip of that along the bottom. When I see things on TV, they go up the corners. So, he was chintzy on the six rolls of tape. Nothing better happen if it was the way they were supposed to do it. I just thought it would be a better clean-up job to reinsure any drafts or leakage. Maybe there won't be and maybe the amount he put on there will do the trick. But I won't know until that happens.

We reinstalled the molding that I had on the windows and he said if I had chosen their molding, I wouldn't be able to see where the drywall starts and meets the molding. I have half of my living room and I have a vaulted ceiling and I was thinking why I would have half of the molding one way. The contractor’s molding was a different color on the windows and I wanted to keep it all uniform. So, that was a poor answer considering they could have got some of that drywall tape and at least, puttied it in for me. Then once it dried, I could have fixed it up by painting it. Sometimes there were openings where you could stick your finger in there and they weren't filled in. I had to go through around all the windows and make sure that there weren’t any little openings there because otherwise, it would look cheap. I had to fix the holes myself and that was because I didn't buy his molding, which would have cost some more. It wouldn't have been free.

I can't remember when we had the windows installed, but we have had nothing but problems with them. They leak air terribly.. We have to keep rags in the sill to keep the cold air out in the winter and warm air out in the summer.

We have had the seals replaced twice and the little sponges replaced a couple times. They claim the little sponges are insulation, but there is no way they are stopping the air from blowing in. RBA claims that if we lower the humidity in our house it will provide better insulation and stop the cold air from blowing in the winter. It's the same excuse every time they come out so they can refuse to remedy the ice building up on our windows every year. We had windows installed by another company in our basement. They are not rated for our area, but they do provide better quality than the RBA windows that are claimed to be rated for our area. We Really need to be able to have our windows repaired or replaced. I have two bedrooms like that, another bedroom window that would be single, a dining room window that would be a double window which I want one out of it, and a single window that I want one. I'm sure that's a lot higher than I can afford.

We got 10 of the double sliding windows. The quality of the windows was one of my key factors in my decision on them. When the salesman with Renewal by Andersen came out, he had the cutaway versions to show people and demonstrate. I come from a construction background, so I know a little bit about how windows are. I could tell immediately that the product spoke for itself. The salesman told us that it would be looking at the middle of June for an install time. They hit it right on the head. They called and set the appointment for me. They got it all done in one day.

I had Simonton windows installed several years back, and the seals on the two windows broke within the first couple of years. They were good windows, but being an insurance adjuster, I was gone a lot and I didn't have time to mess with it. Years went by, and I decided, "I'm not even gonna go with them this time." I decided to have Renewal by Andersen come out, and they were very nice and presented everything really well. I like the look of the window and the company. The head person from Carrollton texted me twice and had a bit of a personal touch to it, the texts, as well.

The installers kept everything clean and picked up and seemed to know what they were doing. I'm hoping to have some more windows replaced as well. The seals aren't broken, but I want to do it anyway within a couple of years and I'll definitely go with Renewal by Andersen again. I've already reached out to the salesman because I've got a sunroom on the back of my home that has five huge windows in it and I wanted to get an idea of what it would cost to replace those. Those will be the last ones I'll replace because they're so big, and when people get the big windows, they go all the way to the floor. I also thought, "Well, the picture windows are always the less money," but they're really not much less because you have to get the whole thing tempered glass because they're closer to the floor.

I'm having a slight bit of a problem because I had a window AC unit and the windows are not made for a window AC. The only thing the salesman from Renewal by Andersen asked was did we need the AC unit put back in and I told him yes. He said he'd come out and do it himself because the installers won't do it once they took it out. When the installers got here, they called him and he said, "No, I didn't say that." Because all we have is a window AC and it was hot that day, the installer went ahead and put it back in. The installers were super. They walked us through the entire process the entire time and made sure we were aware. The young man that led them, Ivan, would not leave here knowing that the temperature here in Texas was hot outside, which meant it was even hotter inside. He wouldn't leave us sitting here in the heat without putting this AC unit in. He didn't have to do it, but he didn't wanna risk our health.

A lot of people say you can't hear the sound of noise outdoors. I still can hear the noise, cars passing by, neighbors' doors slamming shut, but it's no big deal. That's not why I got the windows. I got them because we needed our windows replaced. So far, I like the windows. But now, I got somebody over here trying to level the window AC unit correctly so that it can drain outside as opposed to draining inside my house. The trade-off is good because at least we can cool off, but it's draining inside. It's hard trying to make the window AC unit fit with these type of windows.

The reps brought a sample for the window and the window frame so we could get an idea of the style, how they're made and what the material is. We bought seven windows and a sliding glass door. Renewal by Andersen's contractor came out, took out all of our windows same day then installed all of our new windows and sliding glass door same day. They had a city inspector come out to make sure that everything is up to par. Right now, we can notice a difference with the summer. It seems not so much heat and sunlight are getting in, which is helping with our house temperatures from getting hot.

We had the original Andersen windows in our home, and Grandpa and Grandma had built the house in '76. We moved out to the farm in 1999, and the windows were less than perfect. They were wearing out. So, we decided we were going to replace them, and I didn't even check anyplace else, I just went to Renewal by Andersen. The original windows came out of Hutchinson, Minnesota location. This time, it was from Marshall, Minnesota. There were nine windows that we had replaced. We're having the siding replaced by the same company.

The installation was exciting. They had all the products installed except for the bay window facing the East. We had a flat five-panel window. So, I wanted a bay window, and I got it. They came back the next day and finished that. It is so beautiful. I even hugged the installer. We have a different type of lock now than 50 years ago. So, they walked me through that. As far as the ease of use, it's cool. I don't have to worry about the handles falling off anymore. I can't say enough good things. They're fabulous.

I have nothing but high praise for Renewal by Andersen. The salesman, when I did reach out in March, was able to meet me the next day. It was at the end of March, and he wanted to be able to take advantage of the special that was going on. He did come over here for about an hour and walked me through the process. Then, he sent somebody back several weeks after that to measure. When they had suggested an installation date, ironically, I just retired from a 40-year teaching career and it was summer vacation. So, I called them and said, "Absolutely not. Can you do it another time?" I just didn't wanna wake up on my 40th-year vacation at 8 o'clock in the morning. They scheduled it for five days later.

The people who came here were very professional, very respectful, and very neat. They worked really hard. They were here for about eight hours, and they did an incredible job. I was very pleased. The windows came out great. They look wonderful. I had two 8-foot French patio doors in the back of my house and we ended up replacing them with two 8-foot sliding glass doors. I had wooden Andersen doors, and they had brought them after 25 years on the outside. So, I wasn't thrilled about kind of downgrading to the patio doors.

The salesman was very professional and nice. He called me a few days prior to the installation and after the installation, he called me again to make sure that I was satisfied. The scheduling office called me, too. So, I felt like everybody checked in to make sure that I was a happy customer. The job was expensive, and it was more than I had put aside for it but I love the way these doors look. I'm very pleased with the results. I live in a condo complex, and there are just 12 units here, but chances are, some of the other neighbors are gonna need to replace their windows, so I definitely would recommend Renewal by Andersen.

Once we made the decision to use Renewal by Andersen, our sales rep, David, stayed in touch with us. When they had their guy come out and measure, there was a question about what was included in our quote. It was about the trim around the window. He said he didn't think it was included but I told him it was. Our sales rep got in the middle of that and it was straightened out to our satisfaction. He periodically kept us updated as to what the schedule looked like. It was not a short lead time. We did it in February. We didn't get them installed until a few weeks ago. I got a call from them and they said, "Your windows are in. We can be there tomorrow." We set up a date and it was a week and a half later.

We got two large windows here in the house that needed to be replaced and they knocked it out. I love the new windows. My wife and I are highly satisfied. The only issue that we had was the scheduler didn't send enough folks out to help these guys do the job. They're mounted very highly in the living areas of the house. But Steve, the lead installer, made the right calls and they went to work on it. They stayed here until they got it done, which was late into the evening, past what most folks would consider normal working hours. They said, "This is gonna take us longer to get done than we anticipated. Do you mind if we stay and work late?" We told them no. I was watching them too. They didn't get in a big hurry. I complimented them on how they got it done. The overall quality of the install was great. I wish they'd used some putty in some of these nail holes. But that's a minor thing. Overall, our experience was great with them and we have plans to use them again.

The gentleman that came to our home was a great. He's been very responsive any time I've had a question about anything. We did five windows, initially. Then I said, "I need you to come back. We need to decide what our next group is gonna be." He came and asked, "When you put these five windows in, are you gonna do another step?" I said yes. He said, "Why don't we see if we can get you financed for interest-free?" Now we have all new windows. When mom and dad bought the home, the windows were junk. The heating bill in the winter would be $800 a month. They took sheets of styrofoam and covered every window. Having the new windows, it's nice to not have that foam over them and be able to look out and open a window.

The installation of the first five windows was not so good. They broke one of the frames but never said a word. When the wind came roaring through, I heard this howling. I recorded it and sent it to my salesman. He said, "In 30 years, that window should not sound like that. Something's wrong." The next day, there was a guy there. He looked at it. He took the sashes out and discovered that the frame was broken. He said, "I'm going to pick your crew that will come to take care of this." A second crew came, and the lead man spoke perfect English. I couldn't ask for a better deal. They were all about it. I was totally impressed.

Now we don't have that problem. For the last nine years, all we used was Renewal by Andersen. Andersen's been around for a long time and they've got a very good reputation. It was easier to deal with one company and just let them handle everything versus them having to deal with a lot of the stuff and then have somebody else install it. It was probably about three months between when I ordered the windows and when Renewal by Andersen finally had them manufactured. Nothing in my house is standard so it wasn’t too bad. They told me upfront that it was gonna be a few months. The installers were great. I was very impressed with their speed and cleanliness. They were very professional and had no problems answering any questions along the way as they were doing it. The windows are an expensive investment but it is worth it. You get what you pay for.

In addition, we’re pleasantly surprised at the diminished sound coming in from outdoors! The day after our installation, we had a storm that consisted of baseball size hail! While the outside trim of the windows and siding were damaged — the windows themselves stayed completely intact!!

We have five double-hung windows with the two windows, and one slider. The salesman came out in February, but we didn't get the windows until May. Installation was quick, efficient, and very professional. The installers got here 9 o'clock and were done by 1:00. We are very satisfied with the windows, but it's how it came about the money situation.

The salesman used these iPads, and we're of the older generation, and scrolling through there and showing us, but I needed some paperwork to see so I could hold it and read it, other than it's on this little screen. We were approved for 22,000, and the guy said 11,000, which was half the amount. My husband stuck on that 11,000. So, he signed the paperwork. He told the guy if it would be 20,000 or more, we did not want it. But he kept talking and distracted my husband from what he tried to say. Also, he didn't word it correctly about the half upfront and half when it's finished that that would be what the price. And we would get paperwork three weeks before they came out to install saying that half amount was paid. We got an email saying that it was paid. And two weeks later saying that they paid it again.

Once we talked to Renewal, they said that the amount that we were approved for was the amount for the project. That was not explained by the salesman. And when we got the paperwork in, the first paperwork that came through says we owe them 11,000. We dealt with the payments. We got the email of the first payment and of the second payment. It was, "Why are y'all paying them twice the same amount?" and my husband went off. I didn't even wanna be in the room. And I caught the brunt of it.

I've already contacted their service department and they're supposed to be getting back to me, but they haven't yet. For the first door, they were able to stay within the timeline. The second door, I asked them to expedite it and they did. We really like the doors. We had one issue with the screen. It fell off. But they came out, they put it back on, no problems, and fixed it for us, which was good.

They're on the expensive side. But we found out that because we live in a rural area, we have to go find somebody to put it in, and we gotta research our own quality people to come out and do this. And if something goes wrong, they don't really come back and fix it. But Renewal by Andersen does all that, taking all the worry out of it.
