    Total scam. Porch.com is a waste of time. Called two people and they both told me they got someone else. One guy said "I was a day late and a dollar short." Although his ad had only been up for two hours. Waste of time totally.

    I have wasted three hours of my life on phone calls and waiting for servicemen on two separate occasions, and still no one has shown up. I have called the project coordinator, Jose, who appeases me by saying someone will be here, but someone never shows. The light I purchased from Pottery Barn a month ago, still sits on my floor. Your company told me to call Installs and ask about the confusion. installs says to call you as they have no order. I'd been on the phone with both of your companies, Speaking to people in Arizona Buffalo New York and California. Meanwhile I am in Ohio, been promised a serviceman on two separate occasions and no one has shown up to do the work! If I could give this company zero stars, I would.

    What idiot would PAY simply to give someone a quote?? Well, right here on Porch. It's business model = charging a service pro to give a quote. Nothing more. And knowing that you're being charged for just giving a quote, the net effect is that you will lower your normal rates to get the job. Good for Matt the CEO, good for the customer, BAD for the service pro, who gets screwed here. If you're a consumer and use this service, please remember to tip your pro when he's done because he had to pay up to get your business...

    Had ceiling repair done January 29 2018. The repair person that was sent had a young person with him that had never been out on repair before, and tracked sealant and repair residue on the carpets, rugs and hallway. Had to clean the carpet because the helper did not walk on the plastic covers. The repairman did not have the equipment necessary to do the repair. The ceiling repair is going to have to be done again. The contractor requested his money prior to the repair being finished, which was not the agreement. Contractor claimed to be expert in repairing ceilings, although his work was not acceptable. I have never sent in a complaint before, but this was a really bad repair job, and would not use service again.

    I was connected with two companies to provide a retaining wall repair and replacement. They were polar opposite. One reached out to me and was very responsive to questions, free quote, etc. The other never reached out to me directly but I called, emailed, and even posted my request on their website and heard nothing. This is not the fault of Porch per se, but if a company is going to be associated with Porch they should at least reach out to the prospect and state that they are not interested in the job.

    Contacted Wayne of Baltrip Glass on a Saturday and he came out the next day, Sun. morning. He and his brother installed a frameless shower door in bathroom. Even though the floor tile had been built up a little high by the tiler, they managed to fit the glass panel in seamlessly. Took them less than an hour or so and charged very reasonable price considering it was Sunday. I would certainly recommend them for can-do attitude, promptness and price and will contact them again for further work later.

    I was referred to your website by Lowe's. There I located and called a local (Mesquite, TX) contractor. He was at another job, but promised to come by before 8 PM to evaluate the problem. By 10 PM he had provided an description of work with a cost estimate. He and his crew were there at 8 AM the next day. They completed the work by 6 PM and had cleaned up the work site by 7 PM. He patiently answered my questions and explained the "what and why" of each step in the demolition and repair. Beyond that he communicated with my insurance company to their satisfaction about the reasons for the work and the expense. I tried to stay out of their way, but I observed every step of the repair process. Not only was this man patient with my questions, the work was completed in a timely manner and was actually finished below the estimated price.

    It was my first time using the Porch.com site to “Find Pros” in my area. I had a small reconstruction after water damage and water mitigation at my condo. It involved flooring, drywall, painting. I entered that info and my address and one name came back in a TEXT. Then, the owner of this Interior Business “texted” me. I called on Mon. and then began to look them up on the internet. Nothing. No website. No reviews. I looked on Porch.com - no photos, no reviews, nothing about this “company” but a little paragraph this woman wrote and her photo. ** Interiors. I text her and asked about her website and online reviews and the fact that YELP said that business had closed.

    After a delay, she text back: her website was under construction and her references were three people I could call. But, “I could look at her Professional Website on LinkedIn.” I told her that is not “her” website. On LinkedIn, she has written, that she was “Designer of the Year” MANY times in the South.” Once again, nothing to back it up. Facebook, no photos or reviews, but a page. You know what is worse? Porch.com is okay with all that. I called the phone # on the website and the first time they hung up on me. The second time, they refused to take the name of the co. (I simply thought they should not be recommending it.) All info bounced off the sole person that answers one line. He told me not to worry, I did not have to use her. And, I would be surprised how many people on that site have no website or reviews.

    Framing: Rough in door opening- He had to do it over. He made it too narrow for pre-hung door. Shower Bench- We asked for a 14" wide seat. His was 131/2. Drywall: We had to finish it properly. Every joint was visible. Plumbing: His soldered copper to the diverter leaked. Tile: He refused to slope the shower curb 5 degrees. I had to hire 2 men to do it right. Electrical- He did not use a box connector for neutral wire to fixture in closet. Punctuality- He was here 12 days in over 2 months. Qualifications: He did not have a Contractor's License.

    Porch.com was recommended to me for the assembly of a dining room server I purchased from Overstock.com. Initially it seemed great. Calls and emails leading up to the appointment. Assembly went fine until the end when he couldn't get the doors on properly. He left saying he'd be back. Never saw him again. Waited a week and called Porch. (I was a little surprised that they hadn't reached out to me.) I asked if they could send someone else out to finish the job and it was going to be escalated to a manager. Now 10 days later, no follow up and I'm looking for someone to fix the doors on my server. I guess since they hadn't charged me yet they assumed I wasn't worth dealing with. Interesting way of doing business. So, not only I'm I not going to do business with Porch again, but if Overstock can only refer to Porch.com for setup, I guess I'm finished orderly from Overstock.com. They definitely need better setup and assembly options. Porch.com - what a poor customer experience!

    It is with great regret I wish to inform you that the contractor we hired using your website has been totally unprofessional. In simple terms I would say it's been a bad experience!! Name: **. Company: Priority One Maintenance. Add: 298 Stewart Ave. Fl 1. Kearny, NJ 07032. Phone number(201) 628-2626, 973 698 2695. We hired this guy way back in February for our kitchen remodeling. It's August now and he his still unable finish the Work.

    The room is currently in a horrible condition (attached pictures), he has ripped up the pantry due to which we have to keep all our stuff required for cooking in the living room. This is attracting pests and insects, I have two kids and I am totally worried about the health of my kids due to infections that may have occurred. Secondly, the electric job is incomplete, you can see open circuits and points everywhere in the kitchen, there is likelihood of kids touching these open wires which could result into an accident. The ceiling was opened up for the job and it's still unfinished with no speckling or paint job done. The electric permit is not completely closed. He has opened up the Dishwasher and Garbage disposal rendering it non usable, causing a lot of discomfort to me and my wife.

    ** does not appreciate your business. He does NOT show up when he says he will and not just on one occasion, he'll reschedule and reschedule not showing up time after time until you're the dummy going in circles. And forget phone calls. He doesn't call back and just keeps giving you the runaround if he does happen to answer!! Such a waste of time!! He appears very pleasant and willing to please BUT doesn't want to work and makes it very clear by his actions after meeting him!! Having said that, I need help from you guys to ensure the job is complete and remove me from my grief. Please call me if you need more details.

    I contacted Porch as I could not find anyone in my area to put a TV with a TV stand up. I contacted them over a month ago to hire someone for around $140 to put the TV stand together. I was told I would be contacted within 24 hours. This led to me contacting the company three additional times when first, no one in my area was available, and when I was able to find someone, the contact information for the people was either wrong, or simply never got back in contact with me. The one person, out of 3 or 4 I contacted as far as contractors, would have costed around $500, just to put the stand together. I requested Porch again to hire someone, and waited a week, still hearing nothing. I gave up and hired a friend to do the work for a fraction of the cost. I waited two months and got nothing done from Porch.

    Awful. Complete rip off. Broken Ice Maker and Waste Disposal. Several trips from Simon ** and his brother from Sound Appliance through Porch. Over $600 dollars spent on parts and labor and neither have been fixed. Lost count of broken promises and missed appointments. When I first contacted Porch they seemed very concerned. When they learned the details of my case they basically said, "Write a bad review and contact an advocacy group, or BBBureau." Avoid at all costs.

    I hired Porch to install a new Bosch dishwasher. The tech was visibly out of his depth and clearly did not understand how to properly install the device. When I returned home the evening of the install, the dishwasher door would not close properly and the unit could not complete a cycle. The installation manager tried to blame the manufacturer for the poor installation and initially refused to help. After several calls with their “customer service” (use that term loosely) I finally got another tech out to fix the door so it closed properly.

    I am now left with a unit that appears to work, however have very little confidence that it was hooked up completely correctly. Not to mention the door of my brand new dishwasher is damaged and I have no recourse. Additionally, I requested that Porch remove the old appliance when I signed up for the service. I found it in pieces in my basement and they refused to dispose of it unless I paid them another $90! In MA there are services that will pay me for an old dishwasher, which I ultimately used after multiple arguments about what Porch agreed to at the outset. I will NEVER use them again.

    I had rust around the overflow drain and bottom drain in the bathtub. It was in horrible condition, almost rotted through. The woman who came out did an incredible job of refinishing it. However, she didn't really clean the first row of tiles that was part of the agreement. We were able to clean the tiles and grout, which took quite a while, but I was so happy to get rid of the rust and rot, having to clean the tiles was okay.

    I paid $49.99 to have an "expert" (Steve) come to my home to evaluate the side door of my mobile home that needed to be replaced. He arrived about five hours late stating traffic held him up and that he didn't know Fennville was an hour's drive from Grand Rapids. He measured the door and told me he could obtain a door, remove the existing door, and put in the new door. We agreed on $575.00 for the entire project including the hardware to fit the new door. He told me he would be back early in the morning in a week from the date he was there (7/7/18) to take out the old door and replace.

    He did not show and he did not contact me at all. I called Porch and spoke with a rep who told me he would "investigate." I have heard nothing back. I believe I was a victim of a scam. I am 72 years old and handicapped. I already knew the door needed to be replaced. I needed measurements for a new door and Steve measured, but did not give me the measurements as he was to take care of the entire project. What did I pay $49.99 for? I will most likely report this fraud company to the Better Business Bureau. These people should be ashamed of taking advantage of a Senior who is also handicapped.

He did good enough work, and was extremely helpful with information and suggestions. I know if there's a next time, I suppose I need to specify that I'd like the person doing work to clean up the mess of material scraps and other dust and dirt, which I don't really mind paying for as long as it's done and done right.

    My initial interactions with Porch were quickly and friendly. They scheduled someone to come out without knowing if someone could actually come out. I would rather give them days we are available and have Porch let me know which date they selected AFTER they find a contractor. The impression was that the appointment was set, so we made preparations, then found out they couldn’t get anyone out until a few days after that.

    Mike ** told us he could demolish the garage (like we wanted) plus install the fence and carport... 18 days later we are STILL waiting for the fence to be finished! He and his workers spend half a day and then don't come back for days! And I am still waiting for the carport to be installed and the garage door + empty cement bags to be dumped! Plus, he yelled at my husband last week and then accused him of 'insulting and disrespecting' him -- we would never do that because we are still depending on him to finish the work we hired him to do!

    The good news is that 2 of his workers showed up at 9 a/m to install the last 2 posts so that when they are dry (tomorrow) they can install the last 3 fence panels! However... the panels that were installed today should have been installed 2 weeks ago with the fencing going up the next day instead of 2 weeks later. I told him Friday that I was not upset about any of the work he had done -- I just needed to see progress on a daily basis.

    My husband is on dialysis because he is in End Stage Kidney Failure, and I just found out that I have Congestive Heart Failure and osteoporosis so walking our furbabies 4 times a day for the last 18 days has been a serious problem for me -- I really need the backyard re-fenced so I can simply walk them out the backdoor like I used to. All we want is for the fence to be finished so we can resume our normal life... If Mike wants to return to install the carport and seal the garage walls for the remaining $2723.50 I am more than willing to let him as long as it takes no longer than 1 week.

    I bought a medicine cabinet from Lowe's. Lowe's would not install it, they told me to use Porch. I called Porch when my medicine cabinet arrive. They install it but one of the sliding doors would not close right, I had to pull on it and one of the pulleys eventually came off. I called Porch and they told me that the medicine was damage or something. I told Porch to take the new one down and put my old medicine cabinet back until I got another one from Lowe's. Porch install the old one back but they said when I get new one from Lowe's I have to pay for installation again. I told Porch and Lowe's that I am canceling the order. I did not know I had to pay twice for installation for one thing.

    I had to wait 10 to 15 days for another medicine cabinet from Lowe's, they said it is a special order. Now I have medicine which has crack plastic on top and the light switch doesn't work right. I guess will be like that until it breaks completely. I spent $249.00 for installation and $323.00 for the medicine cabinet. I am going to get my money from Lowe's. I don't think I am going to pay my credit card that I charge Porch on. I am going to call them about it. Porch wants me to send them pictures of the broken plastic on top of my medicine cabinet. I did that through my phone.

    I needed a window air conditioner installed as I am disabled and it is 109 degrees outside. I cannot lift. I scheduled with Porch for 9 am and 30 minutes. Before they were due the man called and said he couldn't do it. I called Porch back at 8.30 am right after the man said he couldn't do it, and they said they would get in touch with some sort of project manager (I thought Porch was the project manager) and nobody ever called. I called porch again at 3.30 and said nobody called and they said they would have somebody call me and they would call me back in 20 minutes to update me. Porch did not call back in 20 minutes so at 4.15 I called and they said they would call somebody and that person would definitely call me. That's what Porch said three times now.

    Very unreliable. I will never use Porch, I will write to Lowe's who said they recommend Porch for installation and tell them about Porch.com's extreme unreliability, and I will tell everyone I know at church and Facebook not to use Porch, I will tell everyone I know. It is 109 degrees and I could have at least gone to a hotel if I knew they weren't going to come out today. I am retired and disabled and I am so hot I am getting dizzy. I am going to try to get to a hotel tonight. The person at Porch very obviously didn't care and was reading from some script. I will tell everyone I know. Do not use Porch.com ever.

    On 7/18/18 I booked an appointment to have a ceiling fan removed and a new one installed. This was set up for 9 am Sat 7/21/18. Appt was confirmed via text message on Friday. By 10 am no one had showed. Checked email, texts, and my order on the computer. No change in my confirmed scheduled appointment. I sent msg and then called. They said it would have to be rescheduled.     Please never use this company, I thought because of how massive the company was that would mean perfect quality and craftsmanship however they subcontracted my slab door installation to some random man. They didn’t know the first thing about routering for door hinges or door latches but I went ahead and let him install just 1 door. He screwed the door hinge straight to the door without routering or even chiseling out a spot in the door to insert the hinge flush with the side of the door. Also when it came time to install the door latch he went off center while drilling the hole so he did it twice just making a hole way too big for the door latch and then continued to chisel out more than needed.

    We went through Porch.com for a professional to help us with deck repair and staining. BIGGEST MISTAKE EVER! They gave my contact information to some guy. He said he would be over on a Thursday to do the work. He never showed up. He made up some excuse as to why he never showed up for the job. Said he would be by on Friday at 7am. My husband waited around until 9am and was late to work. He didn't show up until 11am! We asked him to just sand the deck and then stain. We told him do not power wash because we had already done that. He power washed it anyways and it looked worse than when he started.

    We called Porch to ask for another person to be assigned to our project. They said they would take care of it. BUT the guy showed up the next week and sanded the deck. At this point, it did look better. We were optimistic. Until he stained the deck. It was horrible. Drip marks everywhere. The bottom of the boards on the rails not done. BUT the most horrifying part was he stained the back of our house with the deck stain. I'm talking about brown stain all over the back of my gray house and also on the two back windows!

    It took Porch 3 weeks to finally get somebody out to fix it. Who did they send? The same guy!!! This guy showed up unannounced to "fix" the problem. He painted the back of my house a slight shade of gray blue that kind of matches but not really. He dripped paint on the deck! He did not clean the window. It looks like a mess!!! Then the cherry on top, he charged us over $173 to "fix" his mistake by using the card we gave him to pay for him staining the deck. I was never notified that the card would be charge for the job to fix the guys mistake. I should have never paid the $499 in the beginning! I am furious and want all my money back but Porch will not answer my calls or text messages. I will NEVER use this company again!

    DO NOT SCHEDULE ANYTHING WITH THIS COMPANY!!! I had a inground basketball hoop I scheduled to have put in between 8-12. No one showed up or called. They were rude on the phone, the lady on the phone sounded like she came straight out of the **. Did not show up second time I scheduled with them either. This place is VERY UNPROFESSIONAL! I cannot say enough bad things about this company. I ended up canceling with them and we to AMAZON HOME SERVICES. I have not had any trouble with them at all. I would highly recommend going through them instead of Porch (Installs).

    Wish I could give zero stars, I never leave reviews but trying to save someone else from making my same mistake. PLEASE NEVER EVER CONTRACT THIS AWFUL COMPANY!!! I set up an appointment one month ahead of time. I confirmed with them multiple times for a swingset installation. Talked with them twice the morning of the appointment, was told we were all set with no delays, and they were a NO SHOW!!! They didn't even call to let us know. ALFONSO the manager wouldn't call us back. Spent all day trying to get in touch with someone. They repeatedly tried to avoid our calls and didn't attempt to reschedule. They claimed they couldn't find anyone to do the job even though they sent me an email confirmation the day before the appointment. I drove to another state for this installation. This company is so unprofessional. Unfortunate for Lowe's that they are partners. Worst experience ever. Please save yourself the headache.

    We contracted with Porch to assemble bedroom furniture that had been ordered for my mother who is 89. As she was moving home from a nursing home we had a deadline and agreed on a 10:00 appointment. Porch failed to show up and failed to respond to phone calls throughout the day. After phone calls and emails to the home office, I received a call and was offered another appointment a day after she returned home.     Booked porch.com for bi-weekly lawn cut, trim, blow. No-one showed up on the scheduled first date, and Porch.com didn't reach out. I had to contact them a day later, and got some story why they needed to push back an entire week. I told them no... It's summer, grass grows, I can't wait. I clearly said this wasn't ok. A week later, someone showed up anyway! And worse, they scalped our grass and left a mess. I am now going through the (rough) process of getting someone Porch.com to finally cancel me (again).     Handymen showed up on time. Quoted different price than discussed with Porch to attached (1) shutter, reseat 3 others (top hardware only), and reinstall a kitchen decorative panel (4 decorative nails). The price “quoted” $350, I agreed to $300. Work was completed in 1.5 hours. In the process of reattaching one of the shutters the crew broke a professional grade landscape light. Would have never known however, I discovered it during my post inspection of the work. They used my ladder to do the work. Appears they had been using super glue to reinstall the end caps on the shutters, so a member of the crew gave me a tube to try to repair the broken light peg. The light never turned on again. Will need to have the landscape company return to repair.

    I guess overall the work was ok, I believe the lead handyman offered to repair the light. I pointed out a couple of things I thought needed to be redone, and handy the lead then check, went in the house, they started the repair work, came outside 5 min later and they were gone! Just seem a bit unprofessional but that was my experience. Plus they never advised me of the broken light. Wife was not happy.

    Had garden lights repaired by M.Y. Electric who did a horrible job and when I tried to reach them to repair a third problem, the owner never returned my calls. Upon going on HomeAdvisor and explaining that the job was only minor problem a person at a repair company phoned and then told me they only do jobs from $4,000 and up, but she recommended I phone Lowe's or Home Depot for local help. That is how I learned of Porch.com and had wonderful response and the company I chose, Homeland Electric came from a long distance, but wanted to do the repair.     They could not do background checks as their CEO says. The guy that came to my house was a scammer and unfortunately really good at it so I lost a lot of money. I checked on court records and mugshots and he is a criminal. DO NOT USE PORCH. Worse yet their guarantee is as worthless as their list of contractors.

    Updated on 07/11/2018: As a side note, I contacted the company through Email in May and June and told them directly that the owner of this company was a criminal. Their response was to take down my reviews, which in the reviews I did not divulge his criminal history, just that he left with my money and didn't complete the work. They also blocked me from sending emails to them (or are not answering).

    I signed up online and received a call the very same day 6/15/18. I spoke to a gentleman and told him what I needed done. We made an appointment for 9am on 6/19 and he told me what supplies I needed to have ready for that morning. I went and bought all the supplies he gave me and at 11am on 6/19 I called to see if they were running late. The same gentleman answered the phone and told me he didn't have anything scheduled because they had system issues on 6/15. He said he could schedule me on 6/21. Then he put me on hold and said he spoke to a supervisor and they could fit me in on 6/20 at noon.

    Later that night on 6/19 I received a voicemail, text and email from Xavier (a project manager for Porch) saying they didn't have availability for 6/20 but could get me in on 6/22 and asked me to call him back. I texted, email, called and left a voicemail asking them to call me back to reschedule for the third time. They never returned any of my messages. Apparently they are not interested in doing the job and not only did I spend money and buy supplies, I adjusted my work schedule around the many cancelled appointments. This company obviously does not have customer service skills nor do they care about their customers. Please consider this before hiring these people.

    Would have gave zero stars but that wasn’t an option. I made my appointment Friday for them to come Sunday. They made me confirm my appointment and they even sent me an confirmation email the night before. My appointment was for 9 am so me and my family woke up early waiting for them to get here. It was 9:30 and they still weren’t here. We called the office and they said they didn’t know what the problem was.

    They said they would call me back but it was an half an hour later and I still hadn’t got a call back. So I called again and they said they would call and even higher supervisor they called me back and said that they didn’t work in my area after they confirmed my appointment so many times. I’m so upset. We were trying to get a hole dug for our pool that needs to go up. I will never go through them again. We are also contacting HomeAdvisor. This is the worst company to ever go through and I am so disappointed, angry and upset. They led me on and I won’t recommend them to anyone.

    A painter called me, I returned his call. He said he could paint my 4 metal kitchen chairs. He set up an appointment with me for a week from the day of my call.     I went online to submit a request for a handyman via porch.com. Someone in my apartment building in Seattle mentioned porch.com and I figured, ok I will give it a try. My request was VERY simple. Hang a curtain rod. There was only one important piece of information... How high did the ladder need to be. I measured the height of the ceiling and submitted that with my request.     I made an appointment via phone 7 days ago for the installation of two dimmers and a threshold. I explained the threshold needed to be finished before the floor installers could do their work -- already scheduled to begin tomorrow morning. I got an email confirming the date and time the services would be completed. That same day I got a call from Zeke, who identified himself as the contractor and told me that the people who answer the phone do not have the actual schedules of the "handymen" so they can't make accurate appointments. The soonest available appointment for my area would be in 6 days not 2 as I was scheduled for. At 8:00 on the morning of the day of my appointment I got a text saying that the handyman Robert had called in sick so he could not meet me at 9:00 am.

    This was again Zeke who wrote that the soonest "I have a replacement is 3:30 p.m. Today will this work a 10% discount will be added to your work order." I said okay, and he confirmed Greg ** would meet me at my condo at 3:30. I set up the projects for maximum efficiency and noticed that it was 3:38 and Greg had still not arrived. I texted Zeke and he replied, "Greg got unexpected work on first project and mentions he will be running really late. Is asking if we can reschedule for tomorrow 3:30... guaranteed he will be there and I will make it a 20% discount." I asked Zeke to call me and he did not. I called him only to hear him talk over me and tell me how unexpected things happen and that I was acting like a child. He said I could go to another provider and continued to talk over me. He finally said that he could get someone out to do the work at 7:00 pm.

    I asked for his supervisor repeatedly while Zeke told me he had given me several options and he didn't have his supervisor's number. I continued asking until I was put on hold for 10 minutes. Romero who identified himself as the supervisor came on the line, listened to my story and said he would offer me $25 off if I ever wanted to call him directly to schedule a service. I said that after planning my entire day around Porch.com services, after waiting a week and having been cancelled, rescheduled, and not shown up for, no thank you for the generous offer. These people have no idea how to run a business and they do not care about their customers. DO NOT rely on them to do anything for you.

    I was going to buy a shed from Lowe's. I asked about having it installed and they said they recommend Porch.com for any project a homeowner doesn't want to do themselves. So, I went online to Porch.com. After giving all the information, I was contacted by Alan **, owner of Artisan Pro. Listed as a licensed handyman. He talked me out of buying the shed from Lowe's. Said he could build a better one cheaper on site. Turned out he and his dysfunctional crew actually have no Idea how to build a shed. I never had all the materials I paid for at my premises, he kept blaming Lowe's that everything was back ordered. After two weeks I had a floor and two "semi" walls (just 2x4's, no sheeting).

    Finally, one morning all the tools he had here were gone and most of the material I actually did have on site. He claims he fired a worker who stole everything! Haven't heard from him since. Porch.com says I do not qualify for their Guarantee. Lowe's says they only recommend Porch.com, but hold no responsibility! BEWARE!!! Stay away from all these parties!

    The contractor who responded to me through Porch was basically a scam artist, who intimidated & took advantage of me. I needed to have some ivy removed from my house. When they came to my house, they first offered to do the work for $600. I said no, so they offered to do it for $350. They actually started pulling the ivy off the wall before I agreed to the price. They then asked me to pay in cash, so I left them to do the work while I went to secure the money. I came back in 30 minutes, to find they were done, but had not done what I had asked them to do. One whole area still was full of ivy, and they had cut off the tops of some of the plants I had asked to be left alone, saying they were "helping me". I asked them to take more of the ivy out in the untouched area, and they cut it back about 6 inches from the house. They gave no response when I told them I didn't want them to cut off the tops of the plants.

    I told them I agreed to the price because I thought it would take them several hours to complete the job, and that when I researched I found that the average cost for what they did in our area was $129/hr. He said they felt their price was fair, but offered to accept $20 less. I said $50 less, and he said OK. There were 3 workmen and I was feeling intimidated, so I went ahead and paid them. I had not read the Porch fine print saying there basically is no recourse for work that isn't done properly unless it is paid on their website, using a debit/credit card. So, I know I won't be getting any help from them. Unfortunate, I hadn't read the reviews about using Porch before I entered my project there, so that is on me.

    Possibly the worst experience from start to finish you could imagine. Contracted to have 2 professional contractors put together a play set and ended up with a family. Showed up two hours late, had one drill with one battery (so spent half the day trying to re-charge one battery in their truck until I eventually gave them mine), completed less than half the work promised and then asked for additional money on the side to work any longer. I ended up putting 50% of the play set together myself over the next 2 days and found that incorrect screws and equipment had been used on the work they did complete so I had to take them out and fix mistakes. After contacting Porch.com with documented issues including pictures they told my wife they would respond. She called 3 or 4 times before she stopped.

    We remembered like four months later that they never called us back so I started calling them 3 or 4 times a week to get a response. 9 months after the initial work is done they tell me they won't honor their warranty. For 9 months they basically hoped we would go away, apparently lost the pictures we sent them and eventually told us they apparently didn't feel anything was done incorrectly. Worst customer service ever and unbelievable that they won't honor their warranty for the product they delivered.

Initially, Porch responded to my email complaints with promise to send another technician over to make it right, then fell to total silence.     Vendor: Indy Chimney - 19 days into a job he said would take a single day and it's still not finished. His first day he ordered a scissor lift to reach the 32 foot high Chimney... He would have killed himself as to place the scissor lift in an unlevel shrubbery bed would have been suicide. I had to use my truck to acquire the proper boom lift for the job. The 2nd day he stated he was broke and had no money to order Custom Chimney Caps... I gave him an additional $200 to the already $690 deposit.

    The Chimney caps he fabricated were the wrong size...so he attempted a 2nd time to fabricate them and again they were to wrong size. He then ordered them from a custom Chimney cap maker. Those also were the wrong size. He then took the Custom made chimney caps to a sheet metal shop and attempted to snip and spot weld into the correct size and failed to get it right again. The young man has coping/social issues in addition to he can't read a tape measure.

    I was referred by Lowe's for my interior light replacement project. I submitted my project request online and they offered the needed service for a reasonable price. I signed up and scheduled an appointment for May 23rd at 9 am. Someone reached out to me a few days prior to confirm the appointment, which I did. I waited until about 9:30 am with no one showing or contacting me so I called their customer service number. They indicated that the contractor never confirmed the appointment and an area manager would be following up with me. At about 10 am, the contractor (Tony) called me to tell me that for some reason my appointment was canceled and that he would be here soon to complete the job.

    He even offered to call when he was about 45 minutes out. He asked a few questions about the height of the light and I even texted him a picture. At this point, I just wanted my light hung. It was approaching 2 pm with no follow up from the manager nor an update with an ETA from the contractor, so I decided to call. The customer service rep initially asked me how the project was going as he indicated that his records showed the contractor onsite at this time. I told him no one was here, he then indicated that the appointment was rescheduled to 4 pm today. He was going to request someone else to contact me and I said enough, just cancel the appointment as my day had already been wasted.

    He put me on hold for a moment and then hung up. I waited about 10 minutes thinking this was maybe simply an accident as I never received confirmation that my appointment was canceled. I then called back again, spoke with a different rep, who indicated that the appointment was canceled. So now it was evident, the other rep couldn't be bothered to come back on the line to confirm my cancellation request. At this point my dissatisfaction has been with Porch.com, so I texted the contractor back to inform him of the cancellation and apologize for any inconvenience to him. His response was "ok cool." What a joke, from the service coordination to the contractor. I am sorry I wasted my time.

    This was an opportunity to test out this service as I am just beginning a whole home renovation that will exceed 100K and I have many projects that need completion. I am glad I didn't start with a larger project that actually had an important deadline. I have already reached out to Lowe's corporate as they should not be aligning themselves with such a poor organization.

    We used Porch.com handyman service on Monday, May 14th. A person named Matt and someone working with him (cannot remember his name) performed a mediocre job fixing our leaking door upstairs. They left things unfinished and I had to return to Home Depot to get additional supplies to finish the job. I needed more caulking, screws, foam insulation strips, etc. This is the least of our problems. The big concern is that 3 days later, on Thursday, we realized they stole 4 rings out of the dresser in the room they were in. These were engagement rings and a wedding band valued at approximately $3000 for all 4 rings combined total.

    We have filed a report with the police in Austin, TX handled the theft report. I am seeking the names of the two handymen sent to us. We only know of the first name of one of them, Matt. We also have his phone number. At the very least, we want our money back as per your 100% money back guarantee. I've left numerous messages and emails about this. We also want the thieves that work for Porch arrested for their crimes. It appears that other reviews suggest this is a pattern with Porch.com.

    I booked a deck repair through Porch a week ago to have diagonal bracing added to my deck, which currently has more side-to-side flexibility than I'm comfortable with. A representative promptly called me to ask some details about the project, and I explained to him in extreme detail exactly what I would need done. He assured me it would be no problem, and we booked a time for the following week.

    Porch just called me at the last minute **after 8PM the night before my appointment** to cancel, saying this job is beyond their skill and ability. This is despite me discussing the project with them on the phone, and the fact that "Structural beams, joists or posts" is one of the checkboxes OFFERED ON THE WEBSITE WHEN BOOKING. I had arranged to be home on a work day to get this done, burned a week I could have spent finding someone more reliable, and thanks to you calling after close of business the day before, there's absolutely no way I can find a replacement in time. I scheduled this so that I could get the deck repaired before Memorial Day BBQs and now there's no way I can do that.

    I used Porch as a contractor last 2 months. 9 out of 10 leads would not respond or didn't want any service. If you made 2 phone calls and two text your received a refund. However little games are played the call must be made in 12 hours. The leads drop around 6-8 pm after normal business hours of course. So you need to be calling homeowners at 6-8 a.m. to receive a refund for garbage leads. Most of the leads are not genuine. For example one customer told me he was being paid to take surveys and had zero interest in my service. I never sold 1 job over 30-40 leads. I did however get referred from a customer and made over $3500 from a referral not an actual Porch customer. So there you have it another money grabbing scheme company. They won't be around long. They received a lot of crowdfunding money to launch this company. That will all run out soon enough. AVOID PORCH!!

    I am a contract and have been in business for over 30 years taking over the company for my father after passing away. I decided to try something new. Most of our advertisement has been word of mouth so I went with Porch. Was promised all kinds of great things. Been with them for almost 2 years now. Have spent well over $5,000 dollars. Every time I've had an issue and ask for a refund I've gotten every type of excuse under the sun. I strongly recommend never going with this company. They will take your money. Will never give you a refund when in their own guidelines all you have to do supposedly is go through click off why you didn't get the work or request work and you'll get your money back. That's not the case. They always say it's under review or at this time is not eligible for a refund. Of course it's up to the discretion of them.

    I have received only a couple of refunds after the thousands of dollars I've spent after calling them and speaking to a representative there and complaining as much as I did. He gave me about $80 back total of what I have spent. I've gone and cancelled my account. I recommend strongly to other contractors keep doing whatever you're doing to get business prior to Porch. Ours is always been word of mouth and it works well for us and therefore we be returning to just that type of advertisement. Not the scam and fraud of Porch. When you call customer service it sounds like you're calling somebody in their kitchen. I've heard kids screaming in the background I don't know if these people work from home or not but again if you also look at all the reviews every response Porch had is very similar in nature. All the same type of answers. Again stay away from Porch. Save your money.

    I had to take actions in my own hands and contact my customer service department at my bank explain to them the situation. The bank was more than happy to refund me quite a bit of money and open a fraud case against them. Again I can't emphasize enough. Stay away from Porch. There are scam like other contractors stating on this review about bogus leads. I contacted some clients just to have them say I did not requested work or immediately after filing their request they send an email stating do not need your services at this time. I hope this I hope review helps other contractors and homeowners. Remember the best advertisement is Word of Mouth we've had great success with that.

    Updated on 05/12/2018: Had a Porch representative call me and try to explain the situation and gave me all the excuses. Stating just like any other company you have the good with the bad. But when I actually read them one of the most recent complaints they all of a sudden got quiet. I said, "It's amazing that there are so many complaints in the last few weeks." Looks like people have finally caught on to their deceptive ways. So glad I am no longer with them. Again everyone do yourself a favor, AVOID Porch.

    I paid for a lead that turned up to be a false lead. Which of understand that happens but when I called about refunding my money, the representative laughed at me wouldn’t allow me to speak to anybody else. I was taken back by the way he spoke to me. Definitely let me know they do not care for the professionals that they actually make their money from. It was not the first time I was sold a false lead. I will never be fooled again and never give them one more dime. I just wish to let other professionals out there be careful they do not care for the people that help build their business.     When advised by Lowe's to use Porch.com for professionals to do my remodeling I use this Porch site. I was led to believe these would be contractors that Lowe's approved. Not! I found out there is no background check, no relationship at all with Lowe's. A contractor can be set up on this site and advertise themselves any way they want. What a waste of time trying to get someone reputable. I do not advise using this unless you are going to do more extensive investigation on them. There is almost no way to verify them.

    Well Tom did a great job fixing our gas leak in a timely manner. The only thing I have a problem with is he said he was coming back to fix our hot water heater door and the floor. I’ve called him several times to set up an appointment. No response. Then come to find out my neighbor said he was coming out to his place May second to do some work on his trailer.     I signed up for Porch.com to find more business. They require $100.00 upfront deposit before you receive your first lead. I regrettably placed my $100.00 and activated my account. I purchased my first lead. I contacted the customer. Before I could even give a quote, the customer said he was not ready. Did not qualify for a refund since I talked to the customer. I purchased two more leads which returned no response at all. Porch refunded one lead, but wasted my time. I feel Porch.com is a fraud. I really don't believe these leads are real. I asked for my remaining balance refunded, they said no. Lesson learned. If someone wants money upfront before any service, probably no good.

    Received phone call from provider Porch recommended to do plumbing repair. Person fixed minor repair then contracted to do other services that Porch tracked via their email. This person took deposit to do other services never completed. When contacted, Porch did not stand behind their guarantee to get the work done. In fact they initially denied sending this serviceman until I sent email verification from them. I lost several hundred dollars given as a deposit for material and supplies needed. The person they sent turned out to be a scam artist who, per the internet, was extradited to another state where he is now serving jail time. THIS COMPANY DOES NOT ADEQUATELY SCREEN THEIR PROVIDERS AND DOES NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR GUARANTEE to get the work completed as promised.

    I am a new contractor and tried Porch.com as a way to get business rolling. It is a sad company. I tried three leads costing me a total of $140 and hours of my time. The final straw was a $40 "lead" for a deck. I called the person requesting the work and they did not want a deck. In fact they never put their information on Porch.com or even heard of them. So now according to Porch.com, I cannot get my money back but I can get a credit to buy another lead. What a scam. I called their customer service number and heard all kinds of excuses as to why it was not their fault but the customer's. Not sure how it can be the customer's fault if they never put their info on Porch.com. Looks to me like they have computers scouring websites for info and creating leads of their own to sell. Conclusion: Porch is a scam against contractors and homeowners. STAY AWAY. Use your money on Social Media... seems to work best.

    My mother went through Porch.com to get a carpenter to refinish her hardwood floors for her. Porch.com assigned her an individual by the name of Chris **. Mr. ** was informed from the beginning that we needed to have our floors done within a two to three week time period. He said he could do it and promised he would have the floors completed within a week and a half. He verbally promised he would have them done last Wednesday (April 11). During the time that Mr. ** has begun his work for us, he has began work but has refused to finish the job. He quoted us that the job would cost $1200 and we agreed to pay him at the end of job completion. We have given him, at his request, approximately $450 to get materials. As of today, the job is still not completed.

    During the two weeks since we hired him, Mr. ** would often work sporadically, saying he would come and then not ever showing up on some days. When my older mother would tell him she was concerned that he wasn’t going to finish the job Because of his frequent absences and hire someone else to finish, he would intimidate her by saying he “was going to get paid one way or another.” As of recently he was supposed to come yesterday (Monday April 16) to finish work and did not show up. She has texted and called him asking when she should expect him to return to work and he does not respond.

    I am very concerned that Porch.com is connecting people who need work in their homes completed to individuals who are taking deposits from innocent customers with no expectation to complete the work. I hope Porch.com is thoroughly investigating contractors before connecting them to customers and sending them out to their homes. I’m afraid that this is not happening and would like to know what process is taking place from Porch.com to do this. I would also like to know that there are repercussions in place so that Mr. ** no longer is sent on referral from Porch.com to another person’s home to take a deposit without completing the work.

    We have used Porch for over a year now and continued to provide feedback to help them improve their systems. Unfortunately we have found that they are not going to change because they require the confusion in the lead quality and refunding in order to get paid. Porch claims they have "partners" who provide them with leads. Porch "buys" those leads from their "partners" then sells them to contractors (3-5 at a time). The contractors call the lead to earn the work. All of our leads are put into a CRM that helps us track the lead quality and we have found that over 70% of the leads are invalid. On most of those invalid leads we are told that they have no idea why we are calling them, they have not filled out information or requested anyone call them for work. Then we need to go through Porch to get a "refund". Those refunds are at the discretion of Porch and do not come easily.

    I have requested Porch to update their dashboard so that it is easier to track the leads so that we know which refund requests they have granted and which they have disapproved. We continue to get the same run around answer that the engineers are busy with other aspects. It should be a very simple thing, especially since they can see exactly how many times we reached out to the customer, when we reached out and how long the calls lasted.

    I asked Porch if when we communicated to them that the customer told us they never filled out any information online and requested that we not contact them again if they refunded the other contractors that they charged for the same invalid lead but they do not because the customer may have lied to us about requesting the lead. That is have I realized that Porch only cares about making money, not about helping us to get quality leads, a service that I am happy to pay for. I do not understand what causes people to feel they have to cheat customers to get ahead!

    Finally we concluded that Porch was not for us and requested to cancel our account. We were then told that we had to spend the balance of our account on their bogus leads (close to $1,000) and that they could not get a refund. I challenged this and a few minutes later I was told that I could get my money back minus the amount that I have been refunded, a number that they have yet to disclose to me. I took the time to write this review to keep my peers from wasting their time and money with Porch. My advice is that if you have a very strong tracking CRM in place give Porch a try. If you have this sophistication in place you are most likely not a cheap company and you will find that your competition is a less sophisticated entity that pushes price over quality/value.

    I hired RC construction thru Porch and it has been the worst experience of my life. It started off with a promise of the owner and his brother painting my house which did not happen, from there it was excuses of employees not showing up, car stolen etc. It has taken 2 weeks and my home is still not finished, the first painter he sent must have just started painting that day because it was terrible so another contractor came in behind him to do proper paint job. My planters were broken and cracked in the process, the screens under my eaves have yet to be replaced, he broke my shutters and replaced them with an off color that doesn't match my trim but argued with me that they did and still didn't finish the job.

    He was to show up Sunday to finish my door only to text later that it was too late, he then text the next morning and after a dispute he told me to keep the money I haven't paid and hire someone else. 5 hours after last text he told me I owe him $800 and that he was going to place a lien against my property since I refused to pay full price for incomplete job. I would not recommend this company to anyone, it has been so stressful for a project that I was so excited about doing and now wish I would have never started.

    I had an appointment for March 31 @10 AM. No one came. I called the company 6 times. Each time I was sent to voicemail. Finally @ 3pm I get a call from the general manager "Diageo." He asked if I could reschedule till the next weekend. He'll give me a 10% discount, he claims the contractor had a loss in his family. I agreed, the next week two contractors called and one arrived to my house around 9:45. He asked me to sign paperwork which had a cost for $60.00 more than what I was told. We called Diageo and he told me he never spoke with me. Needless to say I lost it and I hung the phone up and sent the contractor away. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. THEY ARE A SCAM!!!

    I booked a handyman service for a 9am visit. What I got was an aggressive, unshaven guy wearing a Hawaiian shirt with a hangover with no evident skills, tools or experience rocking up 4 hours late. I would of been better picking someone up from outside Home Depot which to be honest is where they got this guy. There is zero vetting of who they use. He didn't do the job and lost critical spare parts and sat around in the sun for 2 hours. The job coordinator "Victor" has been impossible to contact although I have tried multiple times. Porch don't want to know and don't want to help. All they care about is charging you money. This is an unethical company and they don't care about customers in the slightest.

    Purchased an attic ladder from Lowe's and the installation services from Porch.com through Lowe's. What a disaster! After Porch.com had rescheduled the handyman 5 times he finally showed. He had no experience installing an attic ladder and had to watch a YouTube video first. Furthermore, this is a two person job so he needed my help, or Porch.com indicated I would have to pay for another person. In removing the old ladder, I was almost struck with the old ladder as it crashed down from the ceiling. Furthermore, he destroyed part of the ceiling drywall in the process. I asked if he would fix his damage and he indicated only at extra cost and that "I should expect damage to occur during a demolition project".

    The ladder was installed crooked, resulting in us having to repair the ceiling with duct tape. The ladder installation is still a disaster and I am afraid to use it. He never cleaned up his mess, and the cost was twice the estimate. Porch.com offered to have the same guy come back, but I indicated that I could not afford any more damage. Also there is no way to report this on either the Porch.com or Lowe's website. I will never use Porch.com again, and I avoid shopping at Lowe's ever since.

    I scheduled a wall mounted dog door install. The day prior to my appointment time, a representative with Porch.com called to confirm the appointment. The appointment time came and passed, so I called Porch.com. After jumping through some hoops, Porch.com contacted the contractor scheduled to do the service. The contractor "Tony" apparently lied and said he was unable to reach me via telephone the previous day (I had my phone with me and there was no voicemail message left). Porch.com responded by offering service on the following day. I told Porch.com that I was unavailable the following day. After a couple phone calls, "Tony" agreed to come to my home later in the afternoon. I accepted that offer.

    Well, "Tony" never showed up in the afternoon. Porch.com called me and offered to reschedule once again for the following day. I declined. Though I don't think this is Porch.com's direct fault, they have a responsibility to contract with responsible/ reliable people. Hopefully Porch.com removes "Tony" from their contractor list.
