It was a great experience. The representative was very professional and took their time explaining things to me. Any Questions I had about the process, he answered and made sure I was well aware of the process. It was a really Great service. I would definitely recommend to a friend or anyone in need of the service.

Do Not Use this company!! This company put me and my family at risk with the handyman they sent out. I was promised that I would have two handymen to complete my job. They only sent one. The one that they did send was unprofessional, did not finish the job and left damage to my wood floors. Because Porch did not pay him, he contacted me on LinkedIn. The handyman knew where I worked, where I lived and my full name. When I spoke to Porch about my concerns, they did absolutely nothing. I would never use this company again and urge others not to do the same.

It's a total Scam. We just spent $360 for the renewal fee, for absolutely nothing, their demand is too low, you'll end up paying super high per lead because if you're lucky you'll get 6-8 leads a year, you call them and they'll make you think they are working on that to investigate, but they don't care, they just want to get the money from you and don't care about the customers(contractors). If you guys try them(I don't recommend it), make sure to cancel the renewal ASAP. P.S. People that review them with 5 stars are all Homeowners, not Contractors.

Porch makes the process of moving into your house seamless. They offer a number of services that a new homeowner didn't even consider that they needed. I strongly recommend using Porch services in order to lessen the stress of home buying.

Porch does not deliver on any promises they give in exchange for your money. I fired them once, then they contacted me 6 months later claiming they had signed on with more companies to give me more leads AND their so called "vetted program" would give me even more. I paid the $250 fee for the year. They gave me a $110 lead credit to make up for the bad leads 6 months ago. Two weeks in, I've gotten "2" leads. One cancelled, the other did not respond??!! Same thing as before. No change except I let myself get conned out of $250 they refuse to refund. Do not believe anything they claim.., as a business or a customer looking for quality service providers. They never even had me prove I had insurance.

Beware of this company. We had a free Porch account apparently for several years. We realized it was set up incorrectly and spoke with the team about closing it since we never received any leads they convinced us to try their “PRO SERIES PLATFORM”. This was a few thousand a month and it would auto replenish only if lead funds were spent.. We only received a few leads and they took the same amount out the following month. We tried reaching them to discuss, but once you sign with them they are nowhere to be found.
I Called the Sales Rep and our account manager who signed us, this is also the representative who said we can cancel if we are not happy at any time. He never answered so we sent several notices to cancel. During this they kept running out account each month and finally after we told them we were going to take legal action.. months later they said there was a “certain form to sign”. They are full of lies and the worse of crooks. We never received any real leads…they have several thousand of our money and refuse to communicate.

Your company got my detailed message all screwed up. I received phone calls from gutter installers, window installers, door installers. You never addressed my true project!!! You wasted my time and all the businesses that had to call me. Their time also. I will never use your service nor will I ever recommend your service to anyone!! Look at my service order. Do you see windows or doors or gutters installed? I was looking for a freaking handyman not an entire crew!!!

Excellent to work with in all areas, professional, cost, responsiveness and quality of work. I was leery of going online to find a service, but being new to the lake area, I have found it difficult to find someone to actually show up and then do the work, these guys were great!

I was not expecting this level of service considering what I’ve been through in the past few years with contractors etc. Ron returned all my phone calls and dealt with my mom’s anxiety in a professional manner. Now she is safe and her stairs look beautiful.

This sales guy -Joe -calls me in the morning trying to sell me porches services where I pointed out that I’m not interested because unfortunately there is better competitors out there offering a much better service. So he probably got offended And was being really rude asking sarcastic questions like “so if you're doing so good over there and getting so many leads why did you open an account with us?”, then he’s texting me that he is informing other clients based on how I handled the call that I’m no longer proceeding with them…

Mistakes made across the board. Setting up services too early and I incurred charges as a result of their mistakes. Shipping equipment to the house which I did not own yet and did not have access to. Connecting me to services that were either extremely expensive or extremely cheap and horrible quality. I will not recommend anyone use this company in the future. Waste of time and energy. Do the research on your own. You'll find better quotes/prices with better products.

They were at first constant calling for us to sign up then once we did... silence.. and since we have been trying to cancel for over a year They are still charging me even though every time they do I have told them I no longer want services for over a year...I cancelled because I was paying monthly for MAYBE 1 or 2 customers a month...that's 150 a customer and most of the time they wouldn't even answer too many contractors given to the customer. I asked for a change before cancelling and nothing changed...I WANT YOU TO REFUND MY MONEY. I have asked before and still being charged and every time they try to transfer me to a supervisor to help me..."Gee they are on another line. I will have them call you back"... Never happens...ever...No refund. No call back... Once you sign on they no longer care if you get your money's worth.

Your tech was very helpful and courteous. He was explained what he was going to do and it worked very well. Would call you again for service. Thank you again. With our many issues with our water we didn't know who to call. When we were given your name and you called and gave us and gave us an appointment within a day we were happy with the results.

Porch contacted me about an inquiry I did on a home repair inside my house regarding fire alarm replacement on a circuit. They told me they could do the matter internally using their own people and made an appointment to come to my house today (a Sunday). They sent the email with the time they would come (12 noon) and then nothing happened. I called them 1.5 hours later explaining I never heard from anyone and the rep explained to me that they tried to get a contractor but nobody took the job. So they basically did not tell me that nobody was coming and they also lied about doing it internally when they indicated a person from Porch would actually do the work and then indicated it was a contractor. Talk about treating your customers like garbage.

They rescheduled multiple times then said they couldn't provide service in my area. They shouldn't advertise service with SMUD if they can't provide the service. This is false advertising. They should say upfront they don't have contractors in certain areas.

Porch is a Seattle based home improvement firm that does many things on paper, such as install appliances, durable goods, etc. My local utility company has farmed out their energy-saving product installation to Porch. I purchased a thermostat online and was then directed via Hyperlink to PORCH to arrange installation. I made the appointment but right before the install date it was canceled because they had no technician. I rescheduled and the same thing happened again. "When WILL you be able to send someone," I asked. "It's been almost a month." The answer was they had no idea when or if it might ever happen. So in reality PORCH does NOT install stuff, but merely pretends, so they can get the contracts to do so. I wouldn't trust them to flush the toilet. Totally worthless. I had to return the thermostat because there was a 30 day window and Porch could never give me a firm date for the install.

I initially I received constant phone calls but needed to wait on house closing. After entering many jobs for several positions, one week later no help. All that I have received were multiple emails with hollow promises. This leaves me doubting the capabilities of the service as well as the resource base.

Had serviceman scheduled 3-4 times and each time they cancelled after confirming time and dates. Had cancelled other service folks based on their communicating their appointments. They then cancelled a 4th time and said they could not deliver an electrician based on availability even after scheduling them. Learned my lesson to not use this company again. I give them credit though they communicated every failed upcoming appointment. One after another. Good luck if you choose to use their service.

I had some three-way switches that weren't behaving. Porch sent a great young man from a local company and he fixed the problem quickly. Imagine having an electrician come to your house and work for 1 1/2 hours and only charge you $88. That is not just a great deal, it's a miracle and Porch made it happen.

He was very polite, considerate. He was on time. I explained where I wanted the curtain rods hung up & he got right to work. He was a fast worker. It did feel a tad warm in my home & I turned on the air conditioner for the 1st time this year!. It took a little doing to finally get an appointment arranged. I am so glad that they came today. I am definitely going to have them for any kind of maintenance problems that come up.

These guys called after my recent experience with a home inspection, little did I know that it wasn't going to be a phone call I could ignore. We talked about home insurance, and I had planned on keeping the insurance place I originally went through. However, after being on the phone I went through with getting a new quote, and boy, let me tell you it was worth it. They set me up with an extremely reasonable policy and even saved me $200 more a year by helping me find a different company. Thank you so much!

After a referral from Pottery Barn I scheduled 2 services with Porch. My appointment came and I realized 'scheduling' doesn't mean that a job is scheduled. After a week of emails and calls Porch 'booked' my appointment. I spoke with a representative to confirm. Today I made arrangements to be home and waited for someone from Porch to show up. I told our contractor this morning that he did not need to find someone to do the work because I had someone coming. It is an hour past my appointment and I finally got a call from Porch. I couldn't get through to Porch via their 'help' line. You get a busy signal if you try to call Porch.
Porch called in response to my three emails. They said they are 'very sorry.' They don't have someone to come. They didn't have someone last week and won't have someone next week. I was looking for a HANDYMAN!!! I could find someone faster than cheaper than Porch. Someone more responsible should set up the same type of business and actually make calls to find service providers. It's shocking that a respectable company like Pottery Barn refers to Porch.

Ron from Southpaw Electric showed up on time and professionally installed the junction box under the sink so the new Bosch D/W could be plugged in. He charged me for less time that it took which I really appreciated. I will recommend him in the future to friends and family.

I tried 3 times to schedule hedge trimming for my elderly mother. The first 2 times I did not complete the request to get it to the Project stage, as the instructions were not clear that I was to do so. I finally called the number given on the website and was told I had to confirm the appointment. (My mother waited for the 2 previous appointments to show up). Finally I had a 3rd appointment that was confirmed and I could view my Project. A few days before the appointment, I was informed by email that the project needed to be delayed because they could not find a "handyman" to do the job. I thought by a "confirmation" this was implied. So, I called and told them to cancel altogether and I would find a firm that was actually customer-oriented. A TERRIBLE experience.

On Monday, August 16, 2021, I called Cris ** at Solo and asked him if he could move a pool table from Louisville to New Albany, IN, by Friday of the same week. Cris called Dave **, who drove with two coworkers from Cincinnati to Louisville on Friday, August 20, 2021, and moved the table in perfect condition to my home in New Albany. I deeply appreciate the professionalism of Cris, Dave, and Dave’s crew.

We had a really bad wind storm that ripped our rubber roof back a few feet. I got on Porch.com and advertised for the project to get done. Scymanski Enterprise Inc. called that same day. He had someone here to repair the roof the next day. They undid the original rubber roof, repaired the original decking,, stretched the rubber material and cemented it back down again. Added a drip edge and secured the roof so the wind couldn't get under it again.

I used Cerda Construction for two major projects in my home within 30 days. They scraped popcorn off my ceilings that had been there for 52 years and replaced a staircase that was cracked. They did a great job and are professional, responsible, and communicative. I highly recommend them.

Within 24 hours I received 2 quotes and ended up picking up the least Expensive Gary's Plumbing out of Canton MI. He was efficient, professional, on time and reasonably priced. He installed a new sump pump for me with 3 years warranty. He is a licensed plumber and not just a handyman. You do need a licensed plumber for such a job. His price was 395 all inclusive.

Big Oak Tree Service of Hannibal was prompt, professional, courteous in removing 5 trees and stumps. They were in and out quickly and cleaned up after themselves. Would recommend Big Oak be contacted and considered for tree service. Get a quote from them.

I was excited to get a response from a handyman who could work on fencing for me. He was friendly, made an appointment that worked for both of us. He never showed up and didn't respond to texts or e-mails. I couldn't contact him at all and 2 days later, no follow up and there is no way to leave a review for him on Porch app. I would like to be able to leave a review stating he was a no-show. If I had seen that in a review I would not have booked with him.

I will preface this review by saying Cruz, my concierge, was very professional and a good communicator. I had no issues setting up my appointment. Our handyman assigned to dryer vent cleaning was Omar. The day of the appointment I got a text asking if he could come early, which didn’t work for us since my partner who was home could only let him in at the set appointment time. He had an important work call at home before that.
Omar arrived 30 minutes early and called me asking where he should park. I again reiterated that my partner could not let him in since he was on a work call. 15 minutes later, he rang the doorbell and interrupted my partner’s meeting against my wishes asking where he should park even though I told him via text. He rang the doorbell again when he finished parking and interrupted my partner a second time.
I was told on the phone the handyman would need to get both inside and outside, and talked where my outdoor vent location was to determine price. Omar only did the inside and never the outside. He blared on his horn for no reason right before he drove away. It was a horrible experience with handyman which deters me from wanting to use Porch again.

I had two projects I needed contractors for. I called on Friday and was told in 48 business hours I would receive 4 contractors per project. The following Friday arrives. No messages. I call them and after 20 min she says I am sending you the information. They send me 4 companies in other states and 1 that is no longer in business.

I was contacted by Jay ** to lay my floor. He came out Monday night to measure and give me an estimate of $875 to lay 285 sq ft of flooring. He said he would be here at 9 am Saturday morning. He showed up at 9:30 with one person that was a friend of his wife's. Two of his crew didn't show up. After four hours of work my floor isn't even a quarter of the way done and what is done is completely unacceptable. He went to lunch because he was feeling light headed. He called and said he still didn't feel well and could he come back on Sunday to finish the job.
At that point, after looking at his work, we told him don't bother to come back, we would find someone else to finish the job. His friend came back to get their tools and we told him we were sorry but it just wasn't acceptable. The friend said he was only following instructions because he didn't know what to do. Needless to say we are very unhappy because now I am going to have to wait another two weeks for my kitchen to be finished. You have my email if you have any questions about this but I am not sure I would trust anyone anymore through your website.

They recommended a contractor to me that was featured in the news two times for scamming people. Unfortunately I trusted this website and didn't do enough research on this contractor before engaging with him. Customer service didn't do enough to:

The contractor took my number from the work order and keeps calling and texting me. He sent me his seedy photography and invites to his band. 7 months went by and I finally worked up the courage to inform Porch of the situation via the customer service line. Rep was extremely obtuse. Brushed me off completely. She just said she’d “put a note not to send the same guy” on my account! I repeated it again and she goes, “yeah, yeah I put a note on your account.” was SHOCKED. Like a less entertaining version of The Cable Guy. Soon after the contractor called me again!! When I didn’t answer, he sent a text to “check in” on me. Not only did they let me down by sending him into my home to begin with, they left me vulnerable to more of these creepy calls and texts after I made them aware that he was contacting me! It was like his behavior raised ZERO red flags! I can’t imagine what it’s like to work within the company if this is how they treat CUSTOMERS!

I recommend other options. I had an appointment for an outdoor ceiling fan installation. The pro didn't show, so I called Porch at the number that I had. The representative said he would check on the situation and call back in a few minutes. I gave him a few minutes and called back and spoke with a different representative. She said that she would call to see where the pro was. I said, "Forget it!" Full of disgust, I called Porch's corporate offices in Seattle, Washington. I can assure any person reading that I did not get any heartfelt apology. They merely said that, for some reason, the pro was booked at the same time for two different jobs. Very professional, Porch!

This is a so called inspection guarantee company. Our inspector missed 2 major items. Plumbing and roof. We claimed this against their insurance which is Porch, and they offered us $300 for a close to $4000 repair. Additionally we had to sign that we would not report the inspection company or write a negative review about them. Communications and paperwork looks very unprofessional and makes me think this is someone working out of their bedroom. I would avoid any company using Porch as their way of guarantee.

I did not get paid for services rendered to this company, I did a job for this company and they refused to pay me for my services, I removed and installed a microwave oven for a client, they did not like oven, so Porch told me that since client did not oven, I would not get paid

Scheduled appt with someone by phone have my deck stained. I received a text message a few days before the appt saying they weren't going to have anyone on that day and if I would allow them to keep looking for a someone. I told them no and to cancel the request because I felt like I made the appt well in advance and the person who I set it up with told me what days were available and which ones weren't. After replying to the text to cancel and gave the reason, I received a reply 30 seconds later saying after reviewing the job closer, they found someone.?? They said they found someone and I would receive a call from that person. The job was scheduled for 9/26. As of 9/30 I haven't heard anything from that person or anyone else from the company.

I had my rain gutters repaired and they leaked. Numerous attempts, 5 or 6, by text and calls to get them to come out again to fix it yielded no response at all. I will have to pay someone else to fix their error.

Professional, Pleasant, Outstanding work. They arrived very timely. We had visitors arriving at our home on short notice, they were willing to come out very short notice. We definitely recommend this company and workmen! They pressure washed the slab in front of our home plus concrete block base on our home. They also pressure washed our carport. Looked like new when they were done. We will recommend them to others.

Spoke to and scheduled job on Friday 9/11/20 for Tuesday 9/15/20. I emailed and text on Monday to see if they could add another job and if I needed to move furniture from my deck. No response. Sent two other emails, then called and after the music played was"disconnected", hung up on. Now it's appointment time and no show and no call, email or text to cancel. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. Don't even have the decency or professionalism for a simple text or email, people make plans and take off work for this!

Arrived promptly, cleaned, sanded, repaired surface and painted 2 coats of premium paint all in one day. Result is a beautiful surface which will last many years. I would recommend this company for any work on my home. They responded quickly to my request for a quote, which was high but worth it.

On the afternoon of 9-10-20, I submitted a request for service with Porch. I later received an email to discuss my request in more detail when I provided complete detail in my request. The email requested I contact Tony E which I did. When he answered the phone, he sounded tired and disinterested; bad first impression. He went through the details I provided on the request. He asked me what kind of material the tiles were? I asked, "Don't you see it, it's shown in the request"? As he spoke, I could tell he was not into doing his job. I then asked him to cancel the request and I would find someone else. He said ok. Will never call Porch again. They have sent emails to remind me there are pros in our area. We now will unsubscribe. Unprofessional.

This was the first time they have come to my home, so there was an additional charge, but very reasonable. They were running a few minutes late and emailed me to let me know they were on the way. My house was cleaned from top to bottom. Cleaned all fans, shutters, and baseboard as well as the inside of my sliders including the track. They wiped down all the cabinets and cleaned on tops as well. The two people that cleaned were very efficient and extremely polite. After the work was completed, they walked around with me to be sure I was satisfied with their work. I will continue use their service.

David, of Treasury Valley Pest Control, promptly arrived, and removed the large wasp nest. No wasp encounter or trauma, all nest remains removed. Great job, David. Thank you. All of the other pest control companies I called could not respond immediately and all wanted to enroll me in a recurring service. In addition, when David arrived, we were on our rear patio and did not hear the doorbell. David came around the house and found us.

Do not waste your money on Porch.com scam. Overcharge plus fake leads. Never give refunds. Support team are horrible. They call and call trying to get your business to upgrade to higher level, Said no 30 times. Still call. Crazy stuff.

Once found by plumbers the leak was an easy fix but water features not plumbers job so got Pacific Silver Landscape to repair leak. The leak only required a bit of tubing to be cut off and a small screw clamp to repair. No problem since then. Charged $100.00 for the 5 or 6 minute job. I thought that a bit expensive for labor involved plus travel distance. Only from Keizer but it needed done. Man also made some good suggestions I may take up in the future.

This company is in the process of being sued my company. They refuse to respond to an illegal posting about my company. I have never done business with Porch and they are ruining my business! My lawyer is going to send them the lawsuit soon. I am amazed this company is still in business!!

I asked for an estimate on a small 2 hrs Fence Repair - Re-Attaching some slats in our fence. I was given an amount of $118. The appointment was set up and confirmed. Then I checked the final project details and the final amount had doubled to $236 (for 2 hrs of minor work re-attaching about 6 slats). We have the wood and nails. Nothing was ever said about these additional charges. It was extremely disappointing and I feel scammed. Check the amounts quoted carefully when hiring this company and double check your final project costs!!!.

I scheduled for a provider to come install my new smart thermostat. He came out, spent over two hours doing the install, and once he left I realized the A/C was no longer working. I contacted him about the issue, as I have two small children and the Texas heat is no joke, and he returned the next day to fix it. After 3 hours of working on it, he could not get the AC back on even when he re-installed my old thermostat. He basically left saying there was nothing else he could do.
I reached out to Porch, since they state they have a "guarantee" and I went from needing a new thermostat being installed to now not having any A/C. They stated they would "work" on getting another provider out. One day later, and still no one has come and Porch has not reached out. I contact them, AGAIN, and they tell me that they don't have anyone that can come out to fix the new issue that their provider created. They told me they would reimburse me for a "reasonably priced" repair, should I get someone out myself.
Since I now needed to figure out why my A/C unit was not working, I had to have an AC repair man come out. I provided all the photos of the wiring the Porch provider did, and he went up and fixed all the wires and installed the smart thermostat. He then figured out that the other guy had blown the breaker by turning it off and on multiple times. The AC repair man only charged me for the thermostat installation, but told me I now needed an electrician to come replace the breaker.
After the electrician repaired the breaker, I finally had my A/C back after three days without it. I sent the invoices to Porch, and never got any response. Now, here it is 4 months and multiple emails later, and I still have not received any responses to my requests for reimbursement. Not only that, but they still have not reversed the credit card charge for the original service that was not even performed. Just want everyone to know that should something not go as planned, do not depend on using Porch because they state they guarantee their work. I ended up paying about $400 for an installation I probably could have done myself...

This review is for future contractors/companies: Please stay away from this company and save yourself $260. I tried to cancel their services within hours of signing up for vetted contractor program. They don't provide companies with any services. You have to pay for leads and will not get your refund for leads as they tell when you sign up. Better invest your money in a website or google ads.

I bought a gazebo from Lowe's and asked if they did installation. Lowe's recommended Porch.com. I called and scheduled an installation 10 days in advance. They quoted me 2 handymen for four hours plus $59/hour x 2 if more time was needed. At 6 PM, the night before, I received a reminder text of the appointment the next morning. On the day of the appointment, the handymen were supposed to arrive by 9 AM. No one showed. At 9:16 AM, I received a text from a representative of Porch asking me to call and reschedule. I called and was immediately put into voicemail. At 9:24, I received another text stating my appointment had been moved from Friday to Sunday.
At 9:35, another text stating "...trying to locate a handyman in my area ASAP". Then at 11:52 AM, I received an email stating that Porch has cancelled my project with them. Not only is this the worst excuse of a service provider, they didn't even let me know that they were having some type of trouble with scheduling in advance so that I wouldn't have to burn a vacation day from work. I would not recommend Porch.com for anything!

I had a recent home purchase and Way point Inspection company was assigned for my home inspection and I was enrolled to Porch. Porch ensure a 90 Day Inspection guarantee. After my closing and moving into the house, I found:
2. Dishwasher unable to do heater dry at all.
3. Cranky sounds at the loft floor.
I don't have any response from Porch inspection guarantee department after several emails.

It was great having Doug in our new home to install our two TVs. Doug was pleasant, attentive, and efficient at hanging our 82" and 55" TVs. I really appreciated how careful Doug was with making sure his measurements were accurate and that the TVs were secure throughout the mounting processes. Would highly recommend him if you need help mounting TVs, large or small.

I ordered a dog door install through the Porch.com website and indicated my preferred time and day of service. Nobody contacted me. I tried to call them multiple times, but nobody answered. I left a voicemail, and nobody called me back. The day of the scheduled service, I got a text message telling me that my service wasn't possible to complete and had been canceled. At no point did somebody call to explain things to me or to communicate what had happened.
After calling them *again* to try and figure things out, I was told that they were not able to install dog doors. Dog door installation was a clear option on their website, and I wasn't told until the last possible minute that they wouldn't do the work. This service was recommended to me by my local Lowe's, so I will be calling my rep at Lowe's to report that this website is a waste of their customers' time. A local contractor is a much better option. I highly recommend that you stay far away from this service.

I was sent to Porch through my smart thermostat manufacturer to get the install. The man that was sent out ended up leaving me with no install finished, a broken AC, In the Texas heat. Porch was 1st responsive, but after learning I needed to pay not 1 but 2 different other providers to fix the issue, they never responded again. I still haven't even gotten a refund of what I paid them, despite the fact that the guy they sent out ended up putting my old thermostat back on because my AC was then broken. I will tell anyone and everyone not to use the service. My $130 smart thermostat install ended up costing me $550, not to mention having two small children in a 100゚ house for 2 days. I am disgusted.

Irrigation system wouldn't come on. He checked things out and fixed what was wrong in less than hour. It irrigated like it should yesterday. I'm very pleased. My husband passed, I'm in a wheelchair and I really needed their help. I'll be calling them when it's time to shut things down.

I posted an honest, experience-based negative review of a contractor - it was backed by facts, and provided exhaustive detail. Porch removed it. I thought it was some kind of a glitch - and posted it again. Porch again removed it - only leaving glowing, across the board 5-stars reviews for that contractor. They never made any attempts to contact me - even though my contact info was known to them.
Another homeowner reached out to me about the same experience, WITH THE SAME CONTRACTOR - his negative review has also been removed; without any explanations. There are multiple negative reviews about the same contractor on different review WEB sites - Yelp, BBB, Google, etc. The only one with glowing reviews across the board is Porch. Cannot speculate as to the reason why this is being done; make your pick - the net result is the completely dishonest and distorted ratings system.

Porch is basically a subcontractor web company that just outsources their work to local handyman. They lack accountability and professionalism. We had scheduled a double oven installation and the installer called and said he wanted to come early but he had no idea of the job he was doing and thought he was just installing a regular range. He complained about how he was going to need more money and this was not the job he had planned to do.
Porch said they were sending one of their guys that they had been within truth for years and that he would be wearing a mask, gloves and boots. The installer said, "I don’t know if I want to do it now because they need to pay me more money." The cost or price wasn’t an issue for us, it was the lack of communication between Porch and the installer and the fact that the installer didn’t keep his relationship with Porch between them. Totally unprofessional! We will never us Porch again as it’s a very poor service.

I just bought my house and discovered that the ice-maker on the nearly brand new refrigerator was not working. I consulted front Porch and they were able to hook me up with someone who came right out and did an excellent job. He replaced the ice-maker. He clearly knew what he was doing.

CAUTION, make sure that you get the total cost upfront and in writing before doing any work. I recently used Porch to put together an outdoor patio cover. The price from Wayfair for the same service was $449. I booked for a half day at $236 per half day. It ended up taking 1.25 days for 2 people (I did not approve a second person) and they charged me $1400, yes, One Thousand Four Hundred Dollars. Never once did they have me review or approve additional time nor additional people, but just send a bill at the end with the cost that is astronomically higher than what you agreed to previously. Needless to say, I will never use Porch again and I will caution my friends and family from using them as well. I would also caution anyone from using them without getting the full price upfront.

As Porch was recommended to me by someone I thought credible, I tried them out as a contractor. Initially I paid for a lot of leads, and got very little response. Turns out I was in their lower tier payment plan, so I only got a lead after at least 4 other contractors got a chance at it. I then paid more for the phone-call contact leads, to be one of the first to get the lead. Although this was better and I got several jobs, I also got a lot of leads that were not properly reviewed before I was called. I was charged for all of those, and getting refunds on leads was extremely difficult, and they enforce a strict time limit on when you can ask for a credit. Then, they explicitly increased their rates for the leads, and I continued getting very poor quality leads.
When I finally was tired of trying (and mostly failing) to get credit for the bad leads, I tried to suspend my account, but continued to get calls and were charged for leads I did not request, or want. Finally, I asked for the money in my account to be returned, and they refused to return that $200 in my account. In my professional opinion, Porch is little more than a scam site, I would not recommend them for any one.

Victor from Gave Irrigation came promptly and repaired the problem with the sprinkler. He found the box in the ground and then replaced the part. He check all the sprinklers and irrigation before he left to make sure everything was working satisfactory.

Recently, I contracted with a local home inspection firm to inspect a home that we are purchasing as well as our existing home. After both reports were completed, the inspector informed me that I would be contacted by Porch. I did not sign up for their contact list and am not interested in doing business with them. I have received many emails and telephone calls even after I informed Porch that I did not desire their services. Do not let these people get your contact information - they will not leave you alone.

I had an appointment with Porch in the Lafayette, Louisiana area since March 16th. Like someone else said, I was told they would call to set-up a day. That didn't happen. Only received an email stating when they would be here. I've had an adjustable bed frame sitting in the house/apt taking up my space. I've counted down the days until it would be fixed by one of their technicians as stated in the email. I work from home but took off from 1:30-3:00 in anticipation of my 2:00 appointment. However, I realized at 2:10 no one had ever contacted me to confirm this time. Based on the Coronavirus, I called to ensure someone would be coming. I spoke with the manager who took my number so he could reach out to his technician and see if he would be coming. That was a red flag because a manager should've known who was scheduled to go out on field service calls. He should have only needed an update on the time.
A half hour later, the manager calls back to "assure me" (his words) the technician would be at my home before 3:30, only he was running late. Therefore, I went and took hours off my schedule from 3:00-5:00 to, again, ensure my availability during the service time. No problem! I've waited and anticipated since the 16th, I just want it done. To my surprise the manager calls me back at 3:13 to let me know his driver has been in my area before and it's bad because they stole tools out of his truck. Therefore, he would not be coming to fulfill this companies obligation. This type of business is horrible! People steal in Beverly Hills! If a person is going out on a service call, he or she should have a way of locking their tools when the vehicle is unattended. Anyway, complaining did no good because when you use the 800 number, you are routed back to the same office. Ridiculous! Horrible service!

I am a subcontractor for Porch Services. I have serviced more customers than I can count for this company. I have consistent 100% satisfaction ratings for every job I have gone on and completed. I have 100% completion rate. Porch has been unwilling or unable to match my satisfaction rating. They have not paid the agreed upon fees for services rendered, however, they continue to call and request more work to be done while giving constant excuses about why payment for specific jobs has not been remitted to me although they have received payment from the customer. I continue to get management telling me it is not their department and they will send an email to the person that handles that department. Porch has made schedule changes per customer request while not ensuring I have availability.
Just today, Porch decided to send my personal information by email to a customer without my permission under the guise of helping me out. This is not the policy. Customer information is supposed to come to me and I am supposed to call them a minimum of two times to ensure the service is still needed, and that they have their product. This is done from my company phone. If the customer does not answer, I let Porch know, they then call and leave a message for the customer. This is the proper procedure, not sending my information.
I have had several conversations with Porch in which they told me they were having meetings about contractors not being paid because of a financial officer terminating employment. This is not sensible since only certain jobs have not been paid. These jobs are not all together in a certain time period. The jobs that have not been paid are spotty and seem to be only higher paying jobs and jobs where they say you are required to go all the way to the location (even though the customer has never answered any phone calls) to take a picture of the front door for a so-called show-up fee which does not cover the time or resources used for the endeavor.
Porch told me that I would be penalized for not going and wasting my time and not being compensated. I asked them, "Who do I penalize for waiting months to get paid for jobs that I have purchased materials for and drove all the way out to as far as 50 miles, to take pictures of a door?" They had no response. If this is how they treat a contractor who has the satisfaction rating I have, I can't imagine what they must be doing to a contractor with mediocre or low ratings. Stay away from PORCH.COM. Horrible company to deal with, they'll tell you "it's in the terms and conditions". No matter the issue, they'll charge you for crap leads! Their customer service is not helpful. I've finally had enough after getting leads from homeowners that were not expecting my call, didn't need services or already had a contractor before going on Porch.com.

Got a bunch of Spanish people don’t know what their doing or know how to treat customers. Once I was signed up I felt like it was a big racketeering business. They got a bunch of hidden secret. I felt disappointed. Be careful guys when try to buy leads. Wouldn’t recommend them to my enemy. Worst experience ever....

I’m writing this review in hope that another hardworking contractor such as myself comes across it and reads it before signing up for this scam. I’ve had quite a bit of success with Angie’s List for many years and had a larger advertising budget to work with this year. Porch have reached out to me for many years and I have always dismissed them after reading the reviews. That said, when they called this year, I did my due diligence and seen they are rated 4 stars right here on ConsumerAffairs. Their sales pitch was, pay around $300 to become a vetted contractor and buy $500 worth of leads to get started. They claimed that it would be easy to get credit for any bogus lead. 2 calls and 2 texts, and that’s all.
In close to a month that I have been with them, I have not received 1 legitimate lead. They granted the credits for the bad leads, yes, but at the same time I did not do a single estimate for my $800 investment.
The only one lead that I got that was real was a copy of a lead I already received and paid for to Homeadvisor 30 min prior. I don’t know how they got the lead. Maybe the guy is so cheap that he figured he will get estimates from a bunch of contractors from many websites, maybe they bought the lead from Homeadvisor. Who knows. Fact is that this whole porch thing is a scam to get you to spend the $800. I got zero, zilch, nothing out of my investment. Not even one estimate.It’s clear that porch fills sites such as this one with lots of fake reviews in order to cover up what they are really about. I wish I would have scrolled down to see the real reviews contractors left that day the same thing. Porch is a scam. I hope you see this before paying up the $800.

Leaking water line from street to house. Rodney is wonderful. They worked so hard in terrible weather to get my water back working. They hand dug 12 inch deep and 130 feet long to run my new pipe line so I could have my water back on!! By far the best guys ever!

I scheduled with them to have my garbage disposal installed. The appointment was over a week out because I had to schedule to take off that day. At 4pm the day before, they called and said that the person already had another job for the day that I was scheduled and they would have to reschedule. My next appointment was a week and a half later. Luckily I did not have to burn another vacation day because I had time to arrange it. With 30 minutes before my appointment, they canceled again. I was told that they would not be able to do it for at least another month. Not professional, no respect for their customers, and no service.... I will not use their service ever again!

Updated 02/04/2020: Your response, not surprisingly is very boilerplate, possibly auto-response. It truly lacks empathy and is very similar to responses given to similar legitimate complaints by other contractors. We are not anomalies. If you are sincere in your previous response then you should have the integrity to make it right. I do not treat my customers with unfairness and impunity. I'm not angry or outraged. I'm disappointed. I was led to believe my experience was going to be the best in the business. Is it really that you can't make it right, or you just won't? Porch certainly has not lived up to its claims.
Original review: As a general contractor I chose to give Porch a try for lead purchases. The promises made by Porch staff and the reality of their service are starkly contrasted. I deposited $700 into an account with Porch as a vetted contractor. I went through a number of mishaps, misunderstandings, and miscommunications while trying to customize my dashboard to receive leads in the categories I chose. They sent me leads when I requested none.
After spending copious amounts of valuable time to have their mistakes corrected and being rightfully credited. It happened again several times. When I did choose to purchase leads the quality was very poor. When I called customers that were supposed to be expecting a contractor to reach out I was hung up on. That happened twice. Others had just been perusing the customer side of the Porch website and Porch automatically generated a work request and sold it to me and other contractors. They didn't even verify the legitimacy of the inquiry, just sold it.
After a year of trying to work out the 'wrinkles', I chose to discontinue my membership. My account at that time had a positive balance of $700. When I requested my money I was avoided for weeks. Only after numerous phone calls and emails I was finally able to make contact. I was fed a bunch of reasons why they don't refund. After deliberating the legality of their business practice they have thus far refunded approximately $300 of my $700. I will need to sue Porch in small claims moving forward to recover the remaining $400. Dishonesty is what I experienced as a Porch Pro. I do not recommend Porch to anyone, neither homeowner or contractor. They only care about money and are willing to steal it. ????

Bottom line is they just schedule & expect you to be there & then when you try to resolve won't answer the phone or your emails. I gave up. Had someone else do the job. Then they say they can't refund until you tell them twice & call Walmart. Not worth the hassle.

Porch provides fake leads. At first I was curious but now I am sure of it. When they gave me the sales pitch to get vetted for $265, they said that if I try to contact the customer 2 times by texting and phone with no reply that they would refund my credits automatically. 90% of the leads that I got were (FAKE/BOGUS) and the ones that don't answer or return my calls I never get a refund automatically. I always have to call and dispute. Their support agents still try to find a way not to give me a refund of my credits. This company is a scam for sure.

1st of all way too many spam emails then you make a confirmed appointment which they don’t turn up for. I reach out. Hear nothing from them for an hour after the original appt time. Worker says he got lost???? He then says he will be there in two hours, in other words he lied. He wasn’t “lost” just a lame excuse, horrible service. I would not recommend, wasted my time, cancelled. When people are lost the call the owner and ask for help...(nobody has gotten lost before not a new construction etc).

Before considering Porch for vendor recommendations, read through their so called Porch "Guarantee" & you'll see it's written in such a way that they virtually cover nothing at all if something goes wrong, it is entirely at their discretion. I used a "Pro" on their website who destroyed my kitchen counters. It was to have Epoxy poured, which if done properly, is beautiful; instead, what I ended up with was a hot mess with epoxy running everywhere, bumpy, uneven colors, stuck all over the sink, etc. Contacted Porch & they contacted "Pro" to come out & fix which he did come back & made it better but clearly, this was not a job he should be doing, he was in over his head. Anyway, all Porch recommends is to leave a review of the Pro which I will do but since they are pushing for a review on the Pro, I felt a review of them was also in order. Use Angie's List, much more reliable and honest.

I had issues with leads where they had no idea who I was when I reached out, getting refunds for the misleads, wasted time, then trying to cancel I've been told I will get a call back 3 separate times now. A lot of time wasted now even if I get refunded. I would never do business with a company that would not stand behind their work. For a company working with contractors, that's a bad look all around.

Porch came as a recommendation through HomeAdvisor. Somewhere between removing the TV from the box and mounting it on the wall the TV screen was damaged. To add fuel to fire they didn't have proper tools for finding stud for centering and leveling. Also there was a numerous amount of holes in wall where they attempted to install wall mount. When calling Porch to rectify the situation all they could offer was an hourly discount on price to install another TV. We were blessed to have received money back from store where bought but I truly feel as though I was scammed because of the unprofessionalism but you REAP what you SOW!!!

My husband and I were looking to hire someone to help us install floor and door trim in our new condo we had been remodeling. I started my process with Porch by inputting my zip code and project needed. I was promptly called and assigned a service date two weeks out. I gave my address as this time. My husband and I delayed moving into our new condo because we thought it would be easier for the installer to work without our furniture. We also stayed up nights after work (during the holidays) to get the trim painted and prepped for the installer. At 4PM the night before our install (at 10AM the next morning), I receive a voicemail and text from Porch saying my service is being cancelled due to "no providers in the area" which shocked me as I had given them my address and zip code earlier in the process. Ridiculous.

Porch recruited me as an electrical contractor. I buy a fair number of leads, essentially paying someone else to do my web based marketing. I work with a number of lead companies and so have certain expectations. Firstly, I need enough information on the lead to determine whether the lead is worthwhile to pay for. Just a sentence would be fine. From these guys I gen almost nothing. So I don't buy the lead. I've complained about this a few times, but then they want to sell me more services I don't want.
Secondly, a good lead service knows when they send a bad lead and refunds the money. These guys promise, but don't deliver. I bought a lead last week and the phone didn't work, I called 5 times. They informed me I had only texted once, not the required two times and so no, I would not get a credit. Really? So I conclude, not a good lead service. Networx is better. Thumbtack (not a big favorite) is also better. These guys are chasing the easy money and just want to make their failures somebody else's fault.

I used a Porch handyman to have some fairly simple stuff fixed around the house. Porch charged me $90 an hour. I needed the handyman to fix a continuous slow leak from the toilet tank into the toilet bowl (no leaks outside the toilet or on the floor). The handyman inspected the toilet but told me he couldn’t repair the leak because he did not have an overflow tube which is what was causing the water to continuously leak from the tank into the bowl. The handyman showed me that he adjusted the water level adjustment rod so the water would not rise as high in the tank and slow the leak but not stop it. That evening, I came home to find my bathroom floor full of water. The water tank was leaking water on the floor. I turned off the water source to the toilet immediately and contacted Porch the next day.
The Porch “project manager” contacted the handyman who says he “did not work on the toilet”. Every time I asked Porch to take action on this, I got a response that the handyman said he did not worked on the toilet. TOTAL LIE! My toilet was not leaking water on the floor before the handyman inspected it and adjusted the water lever. I asked Porch to send someone else out to fix it, but they said this handyman had to go back out to my house to fix it because they had already paid him for the work. After going back and forth with Porch 16 times, they refused to do anything about fixing what the handyman had damaged! The project manager was super slow to respond every time. He would tell me in the morning he’d look into it and get back to me as soon as possible, but I would not hear from him again until I followed up for a status update in the late afternoon.
Even though I put in the order comments section what I needed done, the handyman couldn’t fix three of the more pressing items: he did not have the overflow tube so couldn’t fix the original slow leak into the toilet bowl, he didn’t have a balance shoe part to fix a window that did not stay open, and he didn’t have a long enough ladder to change a high ceiling light bulb. At $90/hour, I would think he would be more professional and prepared—especially since I noted what needed to be fixed ahead of time on the order form. My advice, use a local handyman who cares about the quality of his work and his reputation in the area where you live. In my experience with Porch, they could care less about standing behind the quality of their work and their customer service is unresponsive and useless.

I am leaving this review prior to service. My husband and I ordered a trampoline from Walmart. On the Walmart site it says, "After your purchase, our partner (Porch) will reach out to you to schedule the service at a convenient time for you." A few days pass and I still had not received a call from Porch. I finally called Porch and they had no information about my order. I wait a few more days and call Porch again, still nothing. I called Walmart and Walmart then says, "Porch will contact you after your order has been DELIVERED, not SHIPPED, but DELIVERED."
The trampoline was scheduled to be delivered on December 27, 2019, and we needed Porch the next day. Unfair to ask Porch one day in advance, so I call Porch and ask if I can simply set up an appointment with them directly since Walmart is clearly not abiding by their promise. I had no issues at that point. I was able to set up an appointment and provided my receipt for proof that I did, in fact, pre-pay for their service and Walmart dropped the ball. The gentleman I spoke with was extremely helpful and apologetic for Walmart's screw up. It was such a relief to have someone that actually cared about my problem. So far, I would highly recommend Porch for your needs.

I placed an appointment through Porch for blind installation. I originally had it for Monday 12/16, but changed it to the Saturday before (12/14). It is 5:15 on Friday 12/13 and they have called me to tell me that they couldn't find a provider to install the blinds for tomorrow at 9AM. What was the point of getting verbal and written confirmation of the appointment if they never had anyone? Completely unacceptable. I should have just gone with talking to a provider directly. Then I would know it would be done. Avoid Porch at all costs.

Awful experience. Scheduled 2 handymen through Porch.com 3 weeks before we moved in so we could get some high priority items done the first weekend (ie install blinds, etc.). Scheduling is not a breeze -- I just wanted about 8 hours of work as I had a laundry list of things that needed to get done, but had to spend about 30 minutes on the phone going over every specification of every item on my list I wanted accomplished (which of course would then likely have to all be repeated to the handyman the day of).
I got confirmation of the appointment 3 times prior to the day of, including the night before. I gave the handymen 15 minutes after my 9 AM scheduled appointment before I reached out to the number I was given via both call and text with no answer. I gave it 10 more minutes then called Porch directly to see if they could help me out since neither handyman showed up. I explained I really wanted to get the work done before I started work again on Monday, and they said their local supervisor would reach out shortly. At noon (2 and a half hours after my call to porch), I had still heard nothing new from Porch so I called back and said I'd figure something else out and I did. Avoid this company. There are other handyman services I have had much better success with.

I had no idea that I was being robbed blind by the Porch repair quote for a small hole in my drywall. They charged me $236!!!! The contractor repair guy that did the repair just shook his head in disbelief. "They charged you TWO HUNDRED THIRTY-SIX? For *T H A T* !?????" He asked me. "Yes." I said. He shook his head again and said, "Mannnnnn, you got RIPPED OFF! They charged you about $136 too much!!" Thanks Porch! I'll never be using your overpriced ripoff service again!

I had Nick come to fix my bathroom pocket door. He replaced the rollers, but now the door does not hang right. When he put the molding back on, he did a very bad job. The molding is crooked, and the wood is split. Some of the nails are sticking out and there are hammer marks on the wood. I will not use Porch repair again!

First and foremost I am satisfied with the quality of work that was performed. The contractor was friendly and professional and did a good job. My challenge with Porch is the scheduling of service as well as billing. When I requested service, Porch would try to call but wouldn’t leave a message so I didn’t know they were calling. After 3 days of calls and no voicemails they finally left one saying who they were and they were cancelling my request. When I called back they gave me one price, despite me asking for a bid from 3 contractors on my original request on the webpage. This was an option they provided.
I did tell them I had the door I needed installed already. The contractor, when closing out the job after install, looked at the charges and saw a $70 charge for material pickup- picking up the door and delivering it. Thankfully he saw that and had it removed since the door was already at my house. This is the first and last time I will use Porch. It was not a good experience.

This company is a scam. They may come out to some homes but not all. I had a appointment for 12 pm. They said they’ll be there at 1:30 pm. Then at 1:30 pm they said they’ll come at 3:00 pm. By 3:30 some guy calls and says he was in a car accident and has whiplash but will come when he leaves from the EMTs. Never came. Still waiting for a refund.

Porch put me on touch with George ** to wallpaper my bathroom. I was out of the state when it was done. When I arrived home, and saw it for the first time, I became enraged! To begin, I was able to see every seam. As I was taking a closer look, I noticed spaces between seams, the print not lined up properly, several tears, very poor patching, bubbles and the paste not washed off the wallpaper. I was told that he was using a kitchen knife to cut the paper instead of a blade. It is for sure that Mr. ** is not a pro. I hope no one else accepts work from this person. I just had this bathroom completely renovated and the wallpaper just brings it down. I would like a real pro from this company to come and take a look at it.

Received a call approximately 30 minutes after contacting "Porch" asking for a company to repair garage door. A repairman was available on the same day I called. He came and replaced the motor for the door, tightened up hinges, etc. He was here about 2 to 2.5 hours. The new motor was expensive but the work was well done. We are happy to have the door working properly.

I am very fortunate that ** called. He is a master plumber with credentials and he is the most knowledgeable plumber I have ever seen, particular about his work, and a neat worker, does not leave messes for me to clean up... I HAVE A Frigidaire 28 cuft refrigerator/freezer. The freezer was freezing below the storage bins. We suspected the drain tube was clogged. After Joshua came out, he confirmed this. It was leaking onto the floor. He gave us an estimate to repair and he even looked at our outside refrigerator which was also leaking. We agreed to have both repaired. He returned 2 days later after parts were in. He said the drain tube was totally blocked and he repaired that. Then when he inspected our outside refrigerator. it did not need the tube, just defrosting. He was very forthcoming about the repair and even reduced the cost of his labor as well as the part he did not use. We were very pleased with his work and how quickly he was able to do the job. Great company and they respect and honor the service of our veterans. Will definitely use again.

They cancelled the scheduled installation hours beforehand and wanted to reschedule for another day. Then, an hour after emailing me the new day, they emailed me again to change the day "Thursday". Yes, they added a typo/misspelling to further their lack of professionalism. I told them not to bother coming and to refund my money. Horrible first impression! I found a 10 minute YouTube video about how to install my wall mount. Took me all of 15 minutes from start to finish. At that rate, it would have been the equivalent of $240 an hour for the $80 installation fee.

I paid $119 for a man to assemble my table in 5 minutes after I dragged in ridiculously heavy boxes myself. How is this even legal? For that price, the person should be delivering the furniture and assembling it. Also, one of my outdoor planters was broken when he carried out my old table.

Porch Services sent an installer from Ice Construction Company to remove and replace the old Garbage Disposal at my home. The installer, Jerome Ice, did not remove the dishwasher drain punchout plug from the new garbage disposal when he prepped the unit for the installation. That is one of the most basic steps of the installation and clearly outlined in the installation guide that came with the appliance. Of course, as a "professional" he never once referred to the install guide. When I ran the dishwasher four hours after Jerome Ice left with my payment, the dishwasher flooded and poured water out on the kitchen floor. I was very disappointed that Porch and Ice Construction could not install a garbage disposal without such a basic major error.

I went through Porch to find a contractor to do a floating wall entertainment center and 75" LED TV installation for my home. While the initial conversation went great, everything after hiring them has been horrible. I am literally still waiting for the contractor to arrive and it's 10:20 am and our original appointment was 8 am. While the contractor was nice enough to text me to let me know his kid was sick and he'd be late but this is ridiculous. Now he has said he's got a flat tire which means he will be even more late. I contacted Porch's service department but they were less than helpful and said that a project manager would be reaching out to me and I have yet to hear from anyone. This is also a two man job... not sure how one guy is going to do this installation. That being said, the experience so far has been horrible. I will never go through Porch again. I am also hoping my bill is adjusted accordingly. If not, I'll send my lawyer after these guys.

The Porch is heavy on telephone sales and keep calling once they get your number. It seems their model is more liker Uber where any contractor can sign up and get sales leads. We hired a contractor through Porch.com for installing curtain 8 rods. They told hourly rate and said it will take around 3 hours. The contractor that showed up seems to had no experience with installing anything on the drywall or studs and did not know much about curtains. He took 2.5 hours to install 2 rods and that too incorrectly and made several holes in the drywall that were not needed.
We had to ask him to leave otherwise he would have spent the whole day installing the remaining curtain rods. The customer service was not very good when we called to complain about this. The contractor seemed to had signed up for Porch.com to make money but he had no experience. Porch.com does not seem to select good contractors. It's better to go with contractors by referral or companies that select contractors based on their experience.

Great work at a reasonable cost. Efficient and professional best describes the work of Cerda Construction. I would highly recommend if you need popcorn ceiling removal. Here is what they did for me: Removed popcorn ceiling in three rooms (900sqft); covered all floors and furniture; ceilings repaired, sanded and painted; floors and furniture cleaned as needed after work; they provided all the materials for the work.

Do not use this company. They quote a price, the total can and will be two to three times the quote. Quoted a desk & file cabinet for 2 hours with possibly a third or part of to assemble. Seven hours and the desk isn't completed. Not faulting the installer however he is retire age working on a 200lb desk. Not fair to him or me!!!!

I used Porch.com to look for a person to replace my gutters, settling on one of their referrals. I paid the man part of his quote upfront, so he could obtain the necessary materials. That was April 22. It is now Sept 11 and not one lick of work has been done. I've gotten excuse after excuse from the contractor, I've filed a criminal complaint and I've contacted Porch.com through their feedback service twice asking for assistance. Porch has never even bothered to respond to my requests. I would not recommend the service to anyone.

OMG. Where do I start? It all started in November 2018. First of all, there was another review very similar to mine that has been taken off this site. It needs to be heard. He talks a good game of what he can do. He never showed up when he said he would. He failed to tell us that he started another job when he started ours and put us on the back burner. Some days he didn't show or call and EVERY DAY he had a different excuse why he had to leave the job early or why he was late. His workmanship is so bad we had to rip everything out that he did. It took him 3.5 weeks to mess up an opening that was to be trimmed out. He did not know how to trim out the opening. He said he could make it look like the other opening that already existed. NO HE could NOT! His mitered cuts don't meet. The base boards don’t set on the floor.
The quarter round is not cut to meet so it sticks out in places. The toe kick in kitchen has nail holes in it. He glued the toe kick on and he didn't line it up to cover the area and it can't be moved. He had to cut one of the doors so it could close easily but made it too short. Then he said he had to cut the other door and hadn't gotten to it. The other door was fine, he was covering up his mistake. He wanted to charge me for dumping the debris from the trailer that should have been all in the quote. He never brought that up again. When I wanted to let him go the first time he said if I did he would dump the trailer on my lawn. We contacted the police dept. to see what recourses we had if he did. He yells a lot and doesn’t show respect to his clients.
I have never made runs for a contractor before. I was going to Lowe's or Home Depot everyday, that he showed up. Most contractors buy the material before going to work. He went thru so much wood bc he kept ruining it, so I had to buy more. He should have paid for it but he kept saying it was trial and error. I hired him bc I was giving someone a chance that was trying to start up his own business. Shame on me! He never had money to pay for material or his workers. The only thing good that came out of the job was his tile man, Matt. Matt cared about his work. We should have fired Gene after we could tell he didn't know what he was doing. The last day that he came and finally paid for him to leave he had bought more wood. It would have been his third attempt to finish the job. His hand was out the whole time for more money. The contractor I hired has taken no money and doesn’t expect any until the job is finished.
I had to pay Gene half before he would start. And more after half way thru. Then 100$ here and there to buy his gas and pay something to his tile man Matt. The first half that we paid he bought a used truck and didn't have money for wood, workers or himself. The contractor I had to hire to clean up his mess will be finished in 4 days. As of today, Gene’s license had expired in June 2018.

Made arrangements to have dryer vent cleaned The first time they showed up, cleaned vent and dryer and said wasn't much lint there. But my dryer wouldn't dry clothes without putting thru 3 times. Called them back. They sent same person out, this time he found a lot of lint that had clogged the dryer and wasn't letting air flow. This time it was cleaned and works better drying clothes.

Porch is the company Overstock.com recommends to customers who buy things that need assembling. So when I purchased a large cabinet with glass doors I requested their service. I received the furniture, but also received an email from Porch they wouldn't be able to assist me with the cabinet. So I called Porch to find out why. After explaining the problem to the first man I talked to, he said he would transfer me and left me on hold listening to this very short tune for a long time before hanging up on me. I called back and got a lady on the phone who told me they did not work in my area. Asked her where she was located and she didn't know! She referred me to another company. I asked where they were located and she didn't know!
Turns out the company she referred me to is the same company as Porch but named "Install". I called them. The phone was answered and immediately put on hold. Funny thing, the exact same short tune I listened to while holding for Porch was also playing by the Install Company. And it played and played and no one ever came on the line. Porch is a company Not to be Trusted.

We apologize for this experience. When your appointment was booked, we believed we would have a professional able to provide service. As we were unable to send someone out, we canceled the service. He also was knowledgeable about how the vent should have been secured to the outside wall and took care of it. Front panel arrived damaged, not Edgar's fault, but job only partially finished. I contacted the manufacturer who sent me to Overstock.com for the repairs. Still waiting to hear from somebody.

I had a hard time understanding the gentleman, Boggie **, who installed my mirror, which resulted in him hanging it twice, because it wasn’t centered. Then he charged me again on top of you charging me. I wrote him a check because He said he couldn’t run my credit card. I then saw the next day I was also charged by Porch. I reached out to Porch twice but have not heard anything back.

Start with the good, our assembly person arrived early, did an excellent job in less time than estimated. The not good - I started getting texts from someone who did not identify to identify them self but was questioning the payment for the job, I asked but they just repeated the question - made me most uncomfortable as they likely had my address. Bill arrived on time and was well prepared to do the project. He made sure I had all the right fittings, connections and wax seal when we discussed the project by phone. His expertise was obvious evidenced by having all the necessary tools and his quick methodology in installing the toilet properly. Bill did a great job of cleaning up the room, left over parts and cardboard container. I strongly recommend him and will use him for other projects.

I called booking an appointment and described several things i wanted fixed. Stress cracks repaired in the ceiling and painting and window sills painted and water drywall repaired from water damage and painted and a doorknob fixed. They told me they would send someone out that could do all of the above and they gave me a flat rate fee for 4 hours. Anything after 4 hours cost more. They sent a handyman who fixed all of the items and painted just as I asked. He did a good job and I'm satisfied. I paid for the work and he tells me that Porch will send me the invoice and receipt. Porch sent me an incomplete invoice. Just mentioned my ceiling and did not list any of the other items I asked to be fixed. Now I have no record of proof by invoice stating all The work the handyman did in my home. Porch sent me an incomplete invoice stating the ceiling stress cracks drywall and that's it.
I have called them repeatedly and they refuse to honor the work by providing a honest receipt and accurate invoice of work completed. I have no proof to claim anything if I have a problem with the work performed. They don't send you an invoice or anything beforehand so you can verify what's to be done. They refuse to send me an invoice for what I paid listing all the items the handyman fixed in my home. THIS IS JUST SO WRONG!!

I never received a call back to set an appointment or for them to come out and look at the install. Would have been great to hear from someone about the install. When lived in Kent Washington they were great. Guess Oregon installers just don't want the work.

My father measured my bay window for curtains. He called porch and gave them the details, so that I would only have to call in to schedule. I call in, and there was no record of anything. So I asked him to call them back to give them the details again, as he measured and purchased the hardware. He did this and finally I was able to call and schedule an appointment. I freed up time to be able to be home while this was installed. I received a text message at 10pm the night before the appointment that my appointment was canceled. Short of a real apology and some real restitution for the waste of time and personal day I requested, I will be looking elsewhere. In short: this is an absolute, disorganized, incompetent nightmare of a service, and so far my only interactions have been with scheduling. Sorely unimpressed and very disappointed.

Do not use. All leads are bogus. Called all leads sent to me and not one customer was not even aware of had no idea what I was talking about. None of them were looking for any service but Porch was good at giving back a credit.

Kyle Brinton Electric provided excellent service. He was polite, punctual, competent, and quick. He was in and out in one hour. He communicated with me exactly when he would arrive. He was also flexible and came over a day early with short notice. I was especially impressed because he also is able and willing to work Saturdays. He even carried out the old ceiling fan for me, which he certainly did not have to do. I have a list of additional projects I'm hoping to hire him for in the near future.

This company contacted me through HomeAdvisor and the gentleman I spoke with gave me a quote (119.00) and when I decided to go with it a young lady I contacted to put in my order then gave me another quote (237.00). I kindly reminded her that I had already received a quote and if they would honor it (119.00). She stated that she would need to talk with her manager and call me the next day. Well, the next day another gentleman called and gave me another quote (198.00) which was a little cheaper than the lady's quote but not what I was originally quoted. I kindly asked them again if they would honor the original one. Well he said that he would call me back once he speaks with a manager.
Well the young lady called me back and said that they would not honor the original one but with the highest one quoted by her. I thought this was very unprofessional and bad business. They all need to get on the same page. I told her that I would never used this company for anything I needed done. She had the audacity to asked me as we were ending the call if there were any other projects that they could help with....REALLY????

I hired someone through your site, you do not vet these people, they in turn farm it out to another supposed worker, you won't honor claims for anyone who did not sign up directly. My money was stolen $2300. Worker has not done 1 single bit of work, no one in your company will help me... I will be filing a complaint with ny attorney general and suing for my money... I do not recommend your services.

I had scheduled a furniture assembly job for Monday 8/12 - the handyman no showed. I had to call them back to reschedule for Wednesday 8/21. I get a text that morning that the handyman had to break the appointment, but he can come Friday afternoon 8/23. I needed someone sooner, and it took 3 calls for me to finally get to a supervisor who only had excuses and told me he didn't have anyone available until next Tuesday 8/27. He was polite and apologetic, but that is not taking care of the project. Unacceptable. I would've given 0 stars if possible.

Garrett is a pro and did an excellent job of cleaning all the carpet in our fifth wheel trailer and the seats of our Honda CRV. We recommend him for carpet cleaning using touch-mounted hot water equipment. He also provides a unique service of shielding the hoses that run into the trailer/house with clean plastic to avoid dragging dirt or debris into the space he cleans.

If so, how do you expect customers to know that? Please don't waste my time with bogus surveys. I get enough -- no, TOO MANY -- surveys as it is. I would happily rate my contractor if I receive a request from Angie's List. Please do not add me to your distribution list; I don't want to receive Porch offers and ads. I don't even want to receive them from Angie's List.

I paid USD80 for Porch to install my TV via Walmart. They did not show up for the first scheduled appointment. After a week of trying to get in touch with them, they finally gave me a date a week later. They did not show up for the second scheduled appointment. This time they managed to book the next appointment for the next day, so that was something. They did not show up for the third scheduled appointment. It's beyond a joke.

I strongly urge contractors to AVOID using this website. The staff is rude and ignorant of what a good lead is. I purchased a lead for $50.00. Same day I sent a email and left a voice message. I never heard back from the "client." I honestly don't know if the person even exists. When I requested a refund, they said that I did not qualify because I did not call that person at least 3 times. If someone is interested in having work performed, they would at least contact me or email me back stating they are working with someone else.
I wasn't even aware that I was suppose to call them 3 times within 72 hours. You don't know this until you request a refund which tends to be after the 72 hours. Plus, they don't refund your credit card. They give you a "bogus" account credit. We don't plan on ever using this company. Due to their lack of integrity and dealing with their incompetent staff. We highly recommend not using this company. Bottom line, I gave away $50 dollars to a company that provided me with a bogus lead.

One company came with a large notebook and wouldn’t give us a quote until he had gone through the notebook. The quote was based on an aerial view of the house. The other company got on the roof and gave us a good quote.
