I am a realtor and have worked with Old Republic in the past. My experience with them has generally been positive. They have been responsive whenever I've needed assistance, such as when my heater wasn't working. They were prompt in sending someone out within 24 hours, and they even waived a service charge for one of the visits, which I appreciated. As far as customer service goes, I've found them to be very responsive.
While I typically use Fidelity for my clients, I have personally used Old Republic before. If a friend or family member asked about my experiences, I'd give them a good review. Pricing-wise, they are comparable to other companies, though everyone could lower their rates. Overall, Old Republic Home has provided good service, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to others.

I got Old Republic Home Protection when I bought my house as it was something that came with the purchase, like a gift from the sellers. During the one-year warranty period, I filed a claim for our garage door openers. The customer service was alright initially, but the company they outsourced the repair to took over two and a half months to address the issue. They also tried to install a lesser quality door than what I originally had and charged me an additional $200 on top of the $100 deductible because Old Republic only authorized the cheapest replacement.
Despite reaching out to Old Republic about this, they never got back to me, which was frustrating as I just wanted my garage doors fixed. Even after the repair, the garage door broke again but was later fixed by the installer after I contacted them directly. Communication with Old Republic was cumbersome as I had to restart the process every time I spoke with them, and it felt like their representatives weren't well-trained.
Overall, I would rate my experience with Old Republic a 2 out of 5 because of the lack of response and issues with the repair service. Regarding price, they are in line with other companies, earning them a rating of 4 out of 5.

Had 2 issues. 1. Washing machine was stopping and starting on its own once it was started. Appliance repair came out and said nothing was wrong with it. Tenant called me and asked to come see what it was doing. I saw the issues. Called ORHP. They sent another company out and they discovered the problem. Part on order now. This took a lot of my time and the tenant’s time. It seems they just send out vendors who say there are no issues and hope no one disputes it. 2. Broken handle on microwave. The only way to open microwave is with the handle. They said the handle was broken due to excessive force. Elderly tenant lives there. She tried to glue handle back on so she could use the microwave. They also denied as she used glue.

I recently had my first experience with Old Republic Home Protection when I filed a claim last month. My heater stopped working, and I needed assistance as it was not blowing hot air. I called their customer service and was relieved by how patient and helpful they were. The rep guided me through the entire process, explaining everything in detail, which made me feel more confident about the steps I needed to take.
When the tech came to fix the heater, he was prompt and efficient. He explained the process to my mom, as I wasn't home, and completed the repair neatly and quickly. He even provided a contact number should any other issues arise, but thankfully, everything has been working perfectly since then.
I would recommend their services to friends and family. Considering the customer service, quality of work, and the overall experience, I would give them a rating of 5 out of 5 stars.

I have been a customer of Old Republic Home Protection for about six months. I first heard about them through my real estate agent, who recommended their services. Overall, my experience has been positive. I've used their service a few times and issues were resolved quickly and efficiently each time. I find their online tools user-friendly, making it easy to submit any service requests. For instance, they once helped fix my garbage disposal swiftly. Old Republic was part of the protection plan from the previous owners and I've had very limited experience with them. I'm a new homeowner and I've only had my locks changed by them. I processed my claim over the phone, and everything was handled smoothly without any issues. The service was coordinated through my realtor, and although I wasn't present, everything seemed fine. I haven't checked the locks myself as I haven't been to the property since the service. Overall, based on my brief interaction, I'd rate my experience as very satisfactory.

The Stark pumping services were professional and perform all work in a timely manner. I’ve used Stark services before and they performed all task quickly. In the past I’ve had a few emergencies which they responded in a timely and quick manner.. I would highly recommend this service for HVAC and related services.

Every time, there is 100 dollars charge when they come and even if issue is related to same thing, for example if plumbing issue, if not on work order, they will say, "We will charge another 100 dollars because it wasn't on work order." I even explained that I did say I had all those issues when I called, and called 3 times and one time, after 30 minutes, they hang up, third time, was told that they will listen to recording to make sure I had stated all plumbing issues when I created work order and let me know but no one called back. Worst experience, will not recommend Old Republic to anyone!

Old Republic has been very helpful in servicing different aspects of my home. Each time is very seamless and the staff is very helpful. Dispatch is quick to send someone within a day or two and the technicians are always pleasant. We have used them for our Fridge three times, AC twice, water heater once and most recently electrical shortage. Each time treated with topnotch service.

The first call was friendly and professional but the 2nd call I received from another person wasn't as professional and friendly. He was giving me a hard time that didn't want to cover the Cost of the repair but after asking so many questions finally said okay. I didn't think he was nice about the whole thing.

Both the plumbing companies and the heating contractors were on time, very professional and did a fabulous job. Everyone needs a contract with Old Republic. We have used this company in 3 different homes and have never been disappointed. They always use top of the line contractors and handle the problems in an extremely timely way.

My husband received 2 $85 fees for Home Protection and another $48.75 fee from Old Republic. One service technician came out to repair the dishwasher that was serviced last year. I requested another service representative to come and service the master bathroom sink. The second person did not provide a service. Please let us know why there are 3 fees in total on the card. When it rains it pours and Old Republic was there. Within 2 months on my recently purchased house we had three items needing emergency repairs. I amend a previous review of ORHP. I was denied coverage for an emergency water heater replacement while I was recovering from major surgery. I had to hire someone from my bed and have it replaced while I lay there. I wrote a review on Google, and got a call from the company. After talking to me, the company decided to cover half the cost. I didn't follow instructions to get an estimate through them, but, umm, I couldn't walk and home health aids helping me bathe. I commend ORHP for doing a difficult thing to help me. Thank you. But I advise customers to read the fine print about what is covered and how to get it covered. I was surprised I was supposed to lay in bed, wait for who knows how long for an estimate, and the eventual replacement. Thumbs up for helping me now, but a note of caution to other customers.

The service is pretty good but the trade call fees have practically doubled in the 4 years we've been with them. Don't know if that's due to inflation or what but overall they have been pretty good...

On 11/25/2924 I file a claim for dryer. They sent a tech, without checking the dryer and stated the belt was broken. He went to his car and grab a belt back, when he opened the dryer trying to replace the damaged belt, I saw the belt was not broken. He then told me his belt was too short and need to order another. He walked away with my belt. He did not return on the schedule day. They sent the second tech. And told me another part was broken and he needed to order. As today, 12/22, the tech. still was disallowed to return to fix my dryer. Old Republic Home Warranty refused to respond to my inquiries and left my dyer broken sitting in the laundry room. They even claimed the job was completed and charged $100 service call. Filed complaint through BBB, they don’t care and still does not fix the dryer.

I reached out to Old Republic at the beginning of November because our water heater was not working properly so we had no hot water. But it was fine because it was hot. We dealt with it. But it's now getting cold so we gotta fix this. I also had a claim for the dishwasher. When I called them to let them know what was going on, it was quick. The rep said they would contact a plumber and he would reach out to me. He was professional and he called us and asked a few questions. He came within a day and took care of it. It was a very good job. He said it was a very easy thing. It was just not installed properly, so he fixed it.
For the water heater, I was given the repair guy’s number and I reached out to him. He didn't answer but we were texting. He asked if I was home and to show him the company name of the heater. He didn't come until the day after he made contact with me. So my experience was not the best because the water heater was signaling that something needed to be replaced. When he came, he saw the name of the brand and said that I’m gonna have to replace the dishwasher because they don’t sell parts for it anymore, which is a lie because before he came, I looked up the company and looked up parts, and you can buy it on Lowe's. He kept pushing me to replace the whole thing. All he did was just start it up. He didn’t try to fix it so I didn't appreciate that.
The guy told me to reach out to my insurance to let them know I have to replace it. Then, he let me know his fees. He said he could come back and replace it for me but it’s an additional 300 for his services. I asked if my insurance was not gonna cover it and he said they'll cover the whole thing, but not his fees. So, he kept pushing his services more than just getting the job done. Aside from that, he also kept pushing different services outside of the water heater. I contacted Old Republic and I was on the phone with them for an hour telling them how I was not satisfied with his service and they gave me the option to send me a check and find my own person, which was what I did. I got someone else to come and fix it.
Old Republic was responsive. When I called, they answered. Their communication was good. The first guy was good, solid and straight to the point. He gave us tips on how to maintain the dishwasher and was very helpful. The other guy was not. I asked Old Republic if they could send somebody else and they said that was the only guy for the water heater. So, I didn't like that but I liked that they were willing to give me money to find my own person. But if the check they sent me was not enough to cover the whole thing, that would have been a bummer. Luckily, everything worked out with the person we ended up getting.

Old Republic is good with the caveat that they need to send a well-skilled person who really knows the job. When I get the reps, they respond well and I don't see any problems interacting via phone. They communicate very well and send people, but sometimes, they send one person and if he doesn't fix it, they send another one. Some months ago, my dryer was not working and the person who came was in a rush, then another guy came and told another story. When the third guy came, it was a different story again. Eventually, they have tried to address the dryer issue, but we really had to struggle. It was one person after another.
I had a dishwasher claim and a guy came and said he fixed it, but it didn't work. I had to again ask for a repair and the guy came yesterday. He said he did something and he doesn't know what the problem is. He told me to tell Old Republic, I am going to call them today. Old Republic does their part, but some of the service people may not be well qualified to pinpoint the problem and give a solution. When they learn about these things, they should take a more prompt action because people need their machines to function. I don't see any reason why they should send a third person to me while the second person would have been adequate, if that person was really qualified and knows the job.

We had a claim for a stove, a washer-dryer and a dishwasher. Old Republic Home came and fixed it five times. It's still a problem. Their customer service puts the work order right away. But the guy who came didn't do a very good job.

Old Republic has been pretty good for me. At first I had to submit my claims by phone, but now I'm doing it online since I'm all registered. The submission process is easy, and their reps and contractors are very good. The only thing is that everything's got to be approved and it seems to take a long time to repair stuff. I understand they got to get someone to approve the work but it seems like a tech would come out for a problem, diagnose it, fix one, find something else, then they got to go back, get approval and come back. So instead of fixing everything in one trip, it takes them three.

I had a central heating problem, wasn't working. There was an air conditioner heating guy working on a house next to mine and he came over and went through it, and diagnosed it. Spent 45 minutes and ended up charging $85. When I called Old Republic, I got a tech and he spent an hour and a half and fixed it. It was a broken wire. The guy prior to him that I got said I needed the whole central unit. The tech did an excellent job. I've had techs out twice now and they've both done excellent work. Really good technicians. Knowledgeable and personable. They explained things to me.

I submitted a service request by phone, and the customer service experience was good. Old Republic's reps are good. Some are more knowledgeable, and some are newbies. Overall experience was good. They will connect with the provider. Sometimes, the provider is busy then they don't call back immediately. Sometimes, you find it immediately if they're in the neighborhood or in the same ZIP code. Sometimes, the technician is very knowledgeable, and sometimes they're not. The issue itself is complicated, but as far as they connect with the provider, it's a good experience. We had an electric issue problem. The electrician came after four days. She fixed it. It's tripping every time we are plugging in the washing machine. We thought that maybe the washing machine is causing the problem, so we need to change the plug point and try to plug the GCFI.

Old Republic's service wasn't very quick. They put in a request with the contracting people, and that process for them to call us and schedule us for the service was slow. We had active water leaking in our house and we couldn't get a plumber until many days later. So, we had to figure out how to make the water stop in the meantime. The plumber was able to fix it. It has something to do with one of the pipes backing up. He cleared the pipe out, and the problem was resolved. It just took a lot of time for them to get here because they were booked out. We couldn't get in touch with Old Republic because there wasn't a person to answer the phone. Other than that, the coverage has been good.

We lived here for five years before my husband passed away and then I bought the duplex. The owner already had Old Republic and transferred it over to me. They gave me a year free and after that, I took over. Filing a claim is very easy. You just call in your complaint and they set you up with a company. They may come from a distance because not too many companies service Old Republic in San Angelo where I live. In my last claim, the contractor fixed my son's air conditioner. They replaced it but I had to pay some extra. It was over my deductible. Usually, I just pay the service fee but this was entire unit inside and out. Old Republic has been very good with responding and repairing. They’re very prompt. The yearly fee has gone up but everything else has.

We have been in our home four months and unfortunately have had to file two claims. One was luckily just Freon needed in an AC unit, but the other was what turned out to be a done for refrigerator. Old Republic made both claims extremely simple and when the refrigerator had to be replaced, they swiftly and with knowledgeable and polite customer service, approved the claim and offered us a replacement or replacement value very quickly. People can't believe we've had such a good experience with a home warranty company. We are very pleased that they have taken good care of us in our new home. We may even keep the warranty once this one expires. It's been a great experience working with them.

I've had ORHP for a year and a half, but the technicians are really hit or miss. One plumber they sent out installed a new bathtub faucet, but when my son went to take a shower the faucet torpedoed out of the wall and cut him on the foot. The plumber came back to re-install it for free but insisted it was a manufacturing defect in the faucet, not a problem with his installation. He also refused to take his shoes off and tracked mud all the way through the house.
Most recently, my dishwasher stopped working and after sending out a guy four times over two months, ordering various parts, and nothing was able to fix it, they finally agreed to get a new dishwasher for me. But then the appliance installers stopped responding to my attempts to contact them, and when they finally did they said they couldn't dispose of the old dishwasher, so I called ORHP and asked them to send a new appliance company that could. Then there was a series of miscommunications between ORHP and the new company that lasted three weeks, until I finally got on a three-way call with ORHP and the new company to sort everything out. This whole process took three and a half months, in which I didn't have a dishwasher the entire time. Everyone at ORHP seems very well-meaning, but the communication between them and the suppliers and the ability of the suppliers they choose is not what I was hoping for.

I have used ORHP for all my home warranties. They are respectful and efficient. I have had no denials for my requests, fast and courteous service and the follow up is spot on. The companies they use have always been professional and get to my house as soon as possible. I highly recommend this organization.

Very bad service, my one-year warranty started, my refrigerator broke and I've been here for two months and instead of fixing it, they don't solve anything and they don't want to replace it either, they're all very ugly, they just make me struggle in every aspect, twice I've lost my food! The technicians leave everything disassembled, unprofessional.

Service fee calls are more and more expensive every year, as are the annual premiums. These home warranty policies have tons of exclusions, which you think don't matter, until you realize they exclude a lot of issues for which you would assume you have coverage. Beware the fine print, as you will end up wondering why you don't have coverage for some very common and frequent problems you thought were covered.

The whole process of communication was great. Republic set up a repair service and I was contacted by the provider immediately. They set up a time to come out and keep me posted on their activity. They showed up promptly and did a diagnostic. It was told to me the unit needed a motor/pump and it needed to be ordered. Was said it would take a week. After a week I was contacted to set a date to come out and fix my dishwasher. The technician came out and completed the repair.

I have never run into a more frustrating phone system and or customer support. I have called multiple weekdays (Tue thru Thurs) between 11 and 1 MST and get a message to contact during business hours. As near as I can tell there are no business hours. I managed to get a claim in and Old Republic assigned one of their service people to it. The workman came, diagnosed the problem, said they needed a part and left. That was a month ago. Since I have been charged the $100 deductible but have not seen or had any form of contact with the serviceman. I tried to raise him by cell phone, text, and email. Also, I cannot find anyone at Old Republic to talk to and find out how to get a trustworthy serviceman on the project. I've dealt with home warranty places before, this is ridiculous.

Old Republic Home Protection has been great to us over the years, and it's well worth having. We have re-upped it every year because it's a great service. We love it. My wife and I are the least handy people so if we tried to fix anything ourselves, we would make it worse. Our washing machine broke, and they cover appliances. I called Old Republic, three days later, they got a service provider out, and the washing machine was fixed. It cost me the trade fee, out-of-pocket. I don't have to learn how to fix a washing machine. It's amazing for people like me that don't have any because I don't have to worry about it. I can call them and everything would be fixed.
They have a web page called Homeowner Central where we can put the things in and manage the request. There are questionnaires. There are FAQs to take people through things. But when we need to, we can get them on the phone. They're very responsive. For example, the guy came out last week. He thought he fixed it. I went to run a load over the weekend. It didn't work. I knew it was over the weekend. So, I put the little email me because I didn't wanna call him. Friday night at 7:30, they called me and said, "We're so sorry, we'll recall the guy. He'll come back out next week." They're very responsive no matter how I tried to communicate with them. It's wonderful. Sign up immediately because it's amazing. I've referred some of my friends that got divorced and their husband took care of everything. I said, "Sign up for this. Get this out of your head. It's one less thing to worry about."

The contractor that Old Republic Home Protection sent out worked on the ceiling when I had a pipe leak. The first time I called, they patched it. Maybe they patched it the second time. We used the warranty for the AC. I filed the claim by phone and the customer service was good. They made it happen and it was good when they came out to work on the unit. They were able to fix it on the spot.

Do not spend money with this company! I recently renewed for the 10th year since we purchased our home. They were good in the past. Now a water heater replacement completed on 10/22/2024 and not working is outside their 30 day window and neither the original company or ORHP is responsible. A "warranty" repair I spent over $900 out of pocket on! Now I have to pay the service fee again and have a new company out to look at all because it was 5 days past their window. Completely ridiculous and terrible customer service.

We submit our claims online with Old Republic and the process is pretty quick, easy, and painless. But their contractors are a hit and miss. The couple that we've had come out who had to work on things were kind of no-name and they had to keep coming back because they didn't do a good job. One time, we had numerous issues with the washing machine and the dishwasher, and I didn't know what the techs were doing but they weren't fixing the appliances. Then, Old Republic sent out a different guy from another company and he was perfect. He got everything fixed. He told me everything that was wrong and everything that he had to fix including what were the parts he had to get.
Old Republic should use better companies because they're wasting money on these crappy repair companies. Start-up repair companies aren't really who they need to go t and as a warranty company, that makes sense, because the techs keep having to come back so Old Republic keeps having to pay them more and more. Other than that, Old Republic has been they're Johnny-on-the-spot and we haven't had any issues. I'm also satisfied with what they offer on their warranty stuff and their response time for things has been excellent. When we would call them to say that the tech didn't fix the problem, they'd immediately send somebody back out.

One claim was for electrical issues. I spoke with the person. Based on what was written on the contract paper, I thought it would be covered. Old Republic Home Protection said it was not covered. They didn't cover or do any repairs. I liked that they sent someone for a second opinion. However, I still had to pay the service call fee. It's not worth to pay Old Republic the regular amount to have that home insurance coverage and to have to pay a service fee with no guarantee that the work will be done.

During the summertime, the air conditioner was not turning up. So, we called Old Republic and they had a technician come in to fix the air conditioner side of things. Then in winter time, we tried to turn on the heater but it was not there. So, we called Old Republic again. Overall, I feel comfortable with Old Republic. The response is quick and they take care of our problem at the right time, which is good. I like them. They provide good service.

Old Republic has been great. I would recommend them. We had one service call and the guy who was sent out was really nice. We had another service person come out before we remembered that we had the warranty, and that first person recommended that we get a new water heater. So, I was pleasantly surprised when the warranty service person who came out was able to fix the issue just by restarting the water heater. It works perfectly now.

I had to submit a claim with Old Republic and it was fine. I paid the service fee for the contractor that came, but if I were hiring him privately, I would not. I found him to be rude. His customer service was poor, but he solved the issue, which is good.

I only have Old Republic because I'm too lazy to find another company. I've had them since I bought my house four years ago, and I'm not the biggest fan. We pay the 110 service fee to have somebody come out just for them to tell us they are unable to do the job. I don't understand why I can't get a refund if they're not able to help me. I still have the issue which is a problem with my plumbing and that was months ago.

We like the services Old Republic offers for the price. When we first started, we could get a person and they would take the request. They've gone all automated but I'm okay with that. Their automated service is quite good. The website is very easy to navigate as well. The service fee has gone up over the 9 years that we've had them, but we expected that. Still, there's a great deal of peace of mind knowing that we can call them and get someone here in a pretty short order for what we need.
We had a leak from our toilet in the first bathroom and it was quite a hefty leak. Old Republic set us up with one service provider who got back to us right away by phone. But because they were a little bit out of our area, Old Republic referred us over to another contractor who came out. The repairman was very kind. He was here 15 minutes and fixed the problem. He said, "Should you have the same problem again, call us right back and we'll come out and fix it." But we've had no further problems with that and that's been a month and a half.

I'm very happy with Old Republic. I've been in this house 30 years and I've had them for the same period. My real estate lady gave that to me the first time, and I liked it better before it got too big. Now, when I'm trying to get through to get a service, sometimes it takes me a long time because I have to go through a lot of people to do it because I can't get directly to the company for some reason. I wish I could get through quicker. Still, I like them or I would've gotten rid of them a long time ago. The service people are really nice, and the last one, James, was awesome. He's an electrician and he had to fix my outlet.

AG Appliance was sent by Old Republic and I was asked for 4 hours of time to set aside for repairman. Repairman said he would need to order a part. I waited a week to 10 days and got a call saying the part came. They asked for a 2nd 4 hours of my time available to install. During the appointment 4 hr. period I was told repairman could not come due to emergency. I was asked now to set aside another 4 hour block of time (now 12 hrs total) and repairman arrived. He asked for footstool but it's an empty place as I let them know both times. Then he said really to do the job adequately it was a 2 man job to take down the microwave and out back up and he would see if it could be approved. This was the same man who came the 1st time. Now they want me to hire outside company to bring down microwave, set it on counter, bring out old republic repairman again, then again have a microwave company come re-install the microwave.
This will cost $150-200 minimum for 2 service trios by an outside company. The time this will require would be 3 more 4 hour blocks of time, (now addingbup to 24 hours of time to set aside for empty rental), $85 for ag appliance cost with insurance and then another $200 likely for 2nd company coming and going twice. This is a crazy request just to repair a covered exhaust fan. Either AG Appliance should fix it or say they cannot fix it, and Old Republic should work with people who truly can repair the exhaust fan even when you have to pull down a microwave to install a part, a refurbished part that looked ild at that (he showed me the part).

The home protection warranty came with the house we recently purchased. After a couple of months, I placed a service on September 27, 2024, for a leaky washer machine. The service tech showed up and couldn’t fix the problem. He needed a part to fix it. The Old Republic Home Protection notified me that the part had been on backorder for two weeks. Every time I called them to get a status of service request, they gave me the same answer as before: that part would arrive within two weeks. After complaining to the Better Business Bureau, the manager at the Old Republic replied to me that part would not arrive until mid-December. Sounds like it will take them 3 months to finally get the part and fix this issue. I am not keeping my hopes high on that. Very unreliable and Untrustworthy company to deal with.

I called Old Republic on a Thursday telling them that my washer was filling up with water and it wouldn't stop. Customer service couldn't tell me when a vendor would get in touch with me. They just said, "Someone's gonna contact you." It was five days and my washer was continuously filling up before someone finally came. Another thing is the person they sent have really bad reviews online, but I didn't feel like I was given much of a choice. That's who contacted me. Other than those, everything else was fine. They got my washer fixed. I would tell people that Old Republic is fine but to be careful what vendor they end up with.

I have had a bad experience with the Old Republic Home warranty. This is my first time joining their company. This company has over 50 years might a good service. A big surprise I filed the first claim for the dryer, which was shown cover on the record. When I called them, they declined it. The second claim was the plumber, it is shown on the cover as well. They declined again. I requested to cancel my policy.

The Old Republic reps have been very good. When I make a claim, they take my number and tell me who's gonna come. There was only one time that I was disappointed that my plumbing wasn't covered under it because this house is old, so it had to have a special thing for release. They couldn't cover it because of the item that was missing in the house. The house is 1950s, so I had it put in. Now it's covered. The techs have been very nice as well. It was only one time in the first year we were here that they had to send three people out because they couldn't do it. And the third one finally did. I also wasn’t charged for the other two.

We had a great experience with Old Republic when we had a claim for the water heater. They were able to also bring it up to code and all that good stuff. The claims process was easy, fast, and good. The last claim that we did though was for our stove that went out. But with that one, we got misinformation. We were working towards a repair. But it looked like there was gonna be a lot of expensive parts for that specific stove. So they mentioned to us the possibility of a cash out option instead. We were following up with them almost on a daily basis. When we called in again, they said, "Oh, we just moved forward with ordering the parts and there's gonna be no cash out." So that misinformation definitely caught us off guard a little bit because we were already preparing for the other option.
It turned out that there was a new law that it went into effect in September stating that there was no more cash out option in California. It was what they were claiming. The rep that we talked to over the phone was helpful as far as really answering our questions, but it was just not having the right information because when we called in again and spoke with somebody different, we were told that the cash out option is no longer an option in the state of California. So from the beginning, we were given the wrong information. Besides that, the claims process was pretty simple and straightforward, and the communication is fine.

I don't want Fast Plumbing coming to my house again. They took forever. They kept saying they were coming, but they never came. They didn't call me and the same thing with the appliance. But my last claim was fantastic. All American and Wilson Appliance. All American were for the plumbing. They had to fix the pipe on the washer and the dryer. Wilson Appliances came to fix my washer, my dryer and my dishwasher. The techs were fantastic. Old Republic is good.

We were satisfied with the claim we made for the garage door. But as far as the dishwasher goes, the contractor came, did a claim, and then it didn't do what it was doing for us. It hasn't since. So, it's been kind of weird with that. But it was not the technician's fault. I was satisfied with both technicians.

I called to get a plumber out here. From what I understand, the plumber is the one that files the claim for me. It's kind of confusing. I've never done it before. I've tried all morning and I cannot reach Old Republic unless the hours between 8:00 and 5:00. But I would think that they'd be open. So I'm dumbfounded on that end. But I'm still working to try and get the problem resolved.

We bought a home from one of my friends and she was the previous owner, so she gave us Old Republic's contact information. But I did not have a very good experience when I filed a claim for my water heater. It took a long time for us to get the reimbursement because there was no online update on the status and I had to call multiple times to find out what was going on with my claim. No one informed me of the right steps to follow.
I remember one lady, when I told her that we submitted the claim number and the information online, she said it was not the right email address and to submit it to another email address. When I sent all that information again to that email address, it bounced back. I had to call again on the same day after a few hours. Some other lady picked up the phone and I told her what I did and she said there is no such email ID. She told me to submit it to the same email ID that we had submitted the claim to earlier. No one informed me that we had to enter the claim number in the subject line, not even a single person, which was why they were not able to process my request.
After a few days, when I called back, another rep told me to enter the claim number and she was very nice. She said, “When you enter the claim number, let me know.” She got the email and she said they would forward it to the fiscal department. It took us more than 40 days to get that money reimbursed. That's not a problem, but there should be consistent information. The customer service is not so good. They just keep on transferring you to different people and when you call them back, they need all the same information from you. I did not have a very good experience and it was very frustrating to me.

I've had a policy with Old Republic for 10 years. I like their response time. The plumber who came out for the hot water heater was very good. He replaced it, and it didn't take long at all. He was very efficient. He had done a video chat with us the night before, so he knew exactly what he needed.

The price could be lower, but that's just me. I'm a new homeowner, so I don't know what it is that people have to pay to get someone to come out.

Old Republic is easy to get in contact with and set things up to get taken care of. We did a claim for a garbage disposal and got the garbage disposal put in, but they weren't able to wire it up. So, I had to get an electrician. Other than that, it was fine.

I've had Old Republic for quite a few years, and I've had good experience with it. When I had a water heater replaced, the company that they sent out did not put the piping in correctly and the city said it had to be redone. They wouldn't approve the work until the company came out and changed the piping and wiring. The company sent someone else out and they redid it. Recently, one of the tubes on my ice maker had a leak. I called them and the claims process was easy. They sent someone out the next day and they fixed it.

If I could give a -0 I would. Stay away from this company. They send out sub standard companies to do the “repairs”. We have had multiple service calls for the same issue on appliances (never fixed), air conditioning (never fixed) and bathroom fixtures-one company replaced the sink supply line with parts that now made the water undrinkable - horrible plastic taste and ORHP says they won’t fix it.
Then the shower….Almost a year later, 3 different plumbing companies and each time they came they broke the fixture in the shower more and more to the point where we now have no working shower in the house. One person in the home is handicapped so we will be making a complaint with the ADA and state attorney General. They have caused us to have a non working bathroom. We are still trying to get it fixed. And if you a part should fail after 30 days or you wait longer than 30 days to tell them they charge you a new service fee.

A formal investigation into Old Republic Home Protection (ORHP) due to their continued misleading practices and unfair treatment of consumers. Recently, I was contacted by ORHP Manager Allie, who, instead of providing a solution to my ongoing issue, shifted the blame to me as a consumer. Additionally, this manager defended an employee who had previously misrepresented ORHP’s products and provided false information on a recorded line.
I believe these actions reflect a larger pattern of deceptive marketing tactics intended to sell coverage and services that ORHP does not actually provide, all for financial gain. Such practices leave consumers without the protection they believe they have purchased and foster distrust in the insurance market. I urge the Department of Insurance to investigate these incidents thoroughly and consider any necessary measures to hold ORHP accountable for misleading and unfair practices.

My interactions with Old Republic reps have always been positive. They get right on it. And I hear from the service provider either the same day or the next day to make an appointment. When my garbage disposal didn't work, the contractor discovered it was also leaking when they came. They replaced the unit. It was good. They knew what they were doing. They had the replacement products with them, so I didn't have to wait.

I liked Old Republic Home Protection's friendliness and willingness to help. I got a washing machine that was broken. I had a guy text me. He just kept texting me and thought he figured out the problem via text. He took forever. It took weeks. I gave up on him, called the Old Republic back. They sent some dude out who determined it was another issue. The other guy kept saying, "I'm waiting for a part." But it wasn't even the right part. He would have showed up and it was not right. The second guy came out, diagnosed the problem, ordered the part and got it in. It works.

When I was purchasing my house, I had to find a product that I wanted. I read reviews and I liked Old Republic the best. I filed a claim online and it worked out fine. I didn't like one of the vendors the last time and they didn't remove the stove when they replaced it. I had to call back multiple times and finally, they came to get it. But it took 11 days to remove it. And my husband had to help install it, which was not part of the deal. But that was the vendor. I was satisfied with Old Republic.

The air conditioner's drain line hose got clogged and I called Old Republic because I like using James Heating & Air. One time, Old Republic sent a guy from Paris, Texas and he was hard to get ahold of. And I’m trying to support my local businesses here in Sherman, Denison. James Heat & Air came out and the tech was professional. He did something last time we had on the other unit. This time, he was able to get on it quickly and get the air back on for the kiddos. So, I’m very thankful. Old Republic should keep doing what they're doing. It's all reasonable and I haven't had any issues.

My Realtor bought the warranty for me when I bought this house. So, I've had it for one year. It just expired at the end of October. I've only called Old Republic once and the tech did a good job. It wasn't much of a problem and I just didn't see it. It was good. But home warranty plans are very expensive and they don't cover enough. Old Republic’s service is very good. But with an annual policy fee of $850, I shouldn't have to pay $85 every time they come out. I should have most of them free because I'm already paying for it.
Submitting the claim to Old Republic was easy. It was better than the previous plan that I had in the last house that I bought. I just called and I said the bottom of my refrigerator drawer was freezing everything. I asked them if they could send someone out. And they did. It was very quick, too. Someone called me the next day and the appointment was less than a week away. So, that was very good. The tech was very knowledgeable and friendly. He took a picture of the problem and showed me where it was and what had happened. Somehow, I knew to do it on my own. Everything is working great. It's an old refrigerator so, I'm happy that it's still working well.

Old Republic has always fixed all my problems and I've saved so much money. Everything that they have fixed has been fixed like they were supposed to. I've also used everything they have fixed and they're all working. So, I don't have any problems. Recently, water was flying up in the air from my toilet. So, I turned the water completely off and called Old Republic. They called me back two days later and said they'd make sure to get it done. A little later, someone called me and told me who was coming to my house. And when he came to the house, he looked at it and said that the whole thing was broken. He had one in his truck, so he came back and put in a new one. He was done in 10 minutes and he was a nice guy. My new toilet is working fine and he said I got warranty on it for a month.
Other than that, we used to pay 100 bucks to the person who comes out and now, we can't do that anymore. For my last claim, they're supposed to pull 100 bucks off of my account and I haven't called my bank yet to check if they did. Old Republic would fix everything that's wrong in the house and all I got to pay is 100 bucks. Unless it's something different like an AC or something they don't cover with some little stuff they don't work with.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY. Had an absolutely terrible experience with this warranty. I've had it for 4 years and have been paying it with no trade calls, but this year both my microwave and dishwasher malfunctioned. After 5+(!) visit to the apartment, they were able to fix the microwave, but not the dishwasher, which in the end I just had to purchase as I am subletting apartment to a family with small kids, and I felt terrible that their dishwasher was not working and also leaking for 3+ months!
ORHP just kept saying contractors who could not repair the appliance, and as I asked them to replace dishwasher since they can't repair it, they told me that ORHP would never approve a new appliance, so they won't be even requesting it. Talked to 5+ representatives and their manager, all were USELESS. At least the manager was respectful (unlike most representatives), but still could do nothing. Biggest concern is there is no continuity with service providers. When I had a problem last year you assigned a company who did a good job. When I called this year I inquired if I could have the same company as last year as they knew the system - which is a little older- so their understanding would be better and faster, I was advised they no longer worked with this company. So a new company was dispatched and we had to start all over again. Not sure they have resolved the problem long term but can not say for sure as the higher exterior temperatures have not returned so not sure the problem is resolved. The former company believes he knows what the problem is but guess we will have to wait for higher temps before we know for sure!!!

I called Old Dominion due to an in-wall water leak concern. A plumber was dispatched to determine the problem and find the leak. The plumber returned the following day with the needed repair parts and fixed the problem. I am very pleased with how the entire claim/repair worked out.

Filed claim. Within 24 hours, received a call from a plumber. Within 48 hours, problem was fixed. The plumbers who were contracted to respond by Republic were knowledgeable and very efficient. They did not try to “upsell” me or try to find a bigger problem to increase the bill to be unnecessarily increased. I could not have been more pleased. I would certainly recommend Republic to my friends and family!

Was prompt in getting a heating company to fix my problem. Was very pleased how everything was handled. It is an old unit so thought maybe the best solution was to replace rather than repair because having old units, I am afraid they will continue to have to have some issues and in need of repair again.

Air Conditioning worked fine. Gas heat would light then, after about 60 seconds of burning, shut off. Blower would not start. On 21 October, The Service Call Technician from PSM cleaned all sensors then located the fault to a bad grounding circuit with roughly 20 minutes of work. Quick, prompt and courteous service. Highly recommended. This is why this will be our 5th year contracted with ORHP.

I have ORHP for my rental units. I do not understand why you cannot communicate with my Property Manager for the jobs and with me for the payment. It should not be so hard. And these days, I am not getting adequate coverage either. ORHP is asking me to cover most of the items and pay them too. Not happy.

I had a plumbing issue and ORHP sent out one of their contracted technicians to diagnose the issue. They stated they were 100% positive that the main water line from the street to our home had a major leak and the cost would be $4600 to repair it. I got a second opinion and it was definitely NOT the main water line and was an irrigation line. It cost me $400 to get it repaired. I notified ORHP of the issue and requested that due to the misdiagnosis and the fact I could have paid $4600 to fix something not broken based on the recommendation of one of their contractors that I would like by trade call fee waived. I received notification this past week that they were not even willing to do that. I have multiple homes with them and have been a customer for many years. It's a shame they took this stance.

I have been with OR since 2013, and I must say I have nothing but positive things to say about the company. And issues I’ve had were resolved expeditiously. I’ve even recommended them to fellow homeowners that I know. Customer service is always polite. I’ve only have one issue with a service provider and OR took care of it immediately.

I made a mistake and renewed my policy last April. The only thing Old Republic cares about is to collect annual premiums and service fees. It has the worst customer service. Hasn't fixed a simple microwave issue. In my opinion, everyone should use their other options for home warranty and avoid this shady business.

Provider was able to get a tech out same morning, tech listened to our concern of a possible water leak, examined the area that we were concerned about himself and acknowledged the cause, examined both water heater and water sensor outside, detected no sign of issue at either confirming there wasn't a leak. Stated other possible cause of what we observed but ruled out our concern of leak. Was friendly and very professional.

We contacted Old Republic Home Protection at the end of June, and one time one month ago. One of them was for our washer and dryer. We talked about two problems that our washer had. But the just dealt with one of them. We are still dealing with the other problem. The second one was for our heater water tank. The person who came to our home was rude. He didn't do anything. Old Republic charged us. But they didn't do anything for us. During that time, I was sick. Suddenly, I got sick. I called the company and talked to the person. I'm not fluent in English. The person who answered the phone didn't respond respectfully. In the middle of our talk, he hung the phone. Since I was sick, I didn't follow up anymore. So, we just replaced our water tank.
For the third time, we called Old Republic about our AC. The person who came was nice and fixed the problem. Every time any person came here, Old Home charged me $85. For the washer and dryer, I paid 85 and they fixed part of the problem. For the water tank, they charged me 85 but nothing happened. So, I paid out of pocket to replace a new water tank. And for the AC, again, I paid 85. It was fixed.

Old Republic was recommended when I purchased my home and their reps have been very good. I like their rapid response. However, when you call them, getting through to a person is like everybody else, you're talking to machines. But eventually, if you work with them long enough, you'll get a person on the line.

When the AC broke two weeks into the purchase of the home, the claims process was simple and straightforward and quick. I got immediate response, Old Republic got a company over here very quickly to take a look at the problem, and then I got a quote for how much I was going to pay once -- then I had to wait for a new AC for about a week and a half during one of the hottest times of the year, but I don't think that could have been helped. That's just one of those things. They had to get all the equipment.
The company they chose was a new company. The verdict is still out whether or not everything's gonna go well because the AC is working great. It's just very loud and there's issues. But I don't know whether or not I want to have the company come back out again or not to take a look at it. But as far as the warranty company, they called me to let me know how much I would be charged for the repairs. I didn't get any written confirmation. I would have liked written confirmation of what was being charged.

Our kitchen oven hasn't worked since July and Old Republic has sent us incompetent contractors who have been unable to fix the issue. A company called "Bay Appliance Repair" was dispatched to fix our oven, but has "lost the tracking number" for the parts they ordered and has failed to follow up as they promised following multiple requests for status updates. Bay Appliance has the temperature sensor they need to repair the oven but refuses to do so until the more cosmetic hinge replacements arrive...with no idea of a potential timeline.

I've done service requests to Old Republic online and then I've also done it by phone. I prefer doing it by phone. The representatives have always been positive. I had a microwave that went out. We had somebody come out and look at it after paying the little inspection fee, and then once they determined it needed to be replaced, they walked me through the whole thing over the phone to make sure I knew what I was doing. They told me to purchase the microwave, and then they were gonna refund me a certain amount if I could stay under a budget. So, they gave me all the information going through and made it super easy, and then I gave them the information. We got the refund back within a week.

My Old Republic home warranty was purchased for me when I purchased my home, and I've been protected with it for a little over three months. It's easy to get any problem figured out with them. I just call and go through the claim with somebody over the phone. Waiting to get ahold of somebody is the hardest part. The only thing that needs improvement is I had one servicer come out under the home warranty and they only did half the job. They said that they didn't do the patching. It had to be somebody else. I was told that somebody else would be sent out to complete the job, but then it took a week and a half.
I was waiting for a call from the second servicer, then I saw the pending charge of 100 went through and the trouble ticket had closed out. That prompted me to call Old Republic back and get that ticket opened up again. It was easy getting them to do that all within a couple minutes of talking to somebody. I said, “Hey, did they not send you the notes from the first servicer saying that it wasn't completed, they just cut the hole, but it needs to be patched now?” Overall, Old Republic is easy to work with.

The light didn’t turn on. I looked at it myself as an engineer. I found that it was complicated. I called Old Republic Home Protection. The tech called me. He scheduled after three days. I thought he was a bit late but I was misunderstood because he said that he would show up between 10:00 and 11:00. I expected him at 10:00. He showed up around 11:00. As he said, probably, it was a misunderstanding, because it was right. He said between 10:00 and 11:00. He looked at the problem. He just fixed it. Plus, he made sure there was no any short going on because I kept losing power. He fixed the job. I'm very happy about his performance. The claim was good.

I submitted a claim with my home warranty company almost 3 weeks ago. Advising them that there is a leakage on my ceiling. They have been out 3 times to my house. 1st time we were advised AC unit didn't have any issues. 2nd time we were told it needs a part, they detected an issue but since the unit is too old they are looking for the part but can't find it. 3rd time we were told they need to make another report that now we need the whole replacement of the ac unit. So inconsistent information. Never following up or calling us to let us know what to expect.

Old Republic sent me someone for my smart cooler. They were great. They didn't give up when it didn't work. They allowed me to try it. It didn't work. They came back. It didn't work. They came back. Then it worked. They came back five times. So, they stuck with it. My cooler has been working since having the repair done. The tech described to me what he was doing. What he did worked. As far as Old Republic, when I speak to someone on the phone, they're very nice. They're understanding. They understand that I'll be frustrating.

I have Old Republic on two locations. The one in Ramon is working fine. I had 10 different air conditioning men come out, but they could not figure out how to fix the air conditioning unit. The lady that I had noticed it and she helped me out. She found someone who at the time did. But now there's another one that's even better. He was the last one that came to fix the air conditioning unit in Ramon and he did a terrific job. They also had to replace an air conditioning unit on the Caliente location. The man who did that one is one of my favorite air conditioning people. He’s so on and with the right permits. But now that he put the air conditioning in, Old Republic canceled my policy. Also, it's not easy to get to speak to somebody at Old Republic, and I'm not happy with that.

I call Old Republic when I submit claims and my experience with their reps has been fine. They answer my questions and everything has been good. Their technicians have been good too. Because I had originally somebody else look at my claim one time, and their technicians were better. One guy said that my whole AC unit was shot. Then the guy that came out was like, no. He said I had an older unit but everything was okay. Because the first one was trying to sell me a whole system. But the guy they sent out said, "No, you don't need a whole new system." And showed me the leak. The leak was just a plastic cap and he just put a new cap on there. He did really well. Everything's working fine.

Old Republic is reliable. Everything that we've ever used them for, they were responsible and repaired it. One thing about the people they hire though, they should do an integrity check on them. It's an improvement on screening. Recently, I did a claim on the phone for my pool pump, and it went quick, but the one previous to that didn't. The previous guy who came here to service the pool pump leak took a pipe, shaved it off and cut up all this stuff, then he added one little piece and told me I had to wait till the next day to turn it on and then it would work. That went down and the leak persisted. The guy took $85 cash off of us and left.
We don't mind being out of the $85, but there's a lack of integrity on that guy 'cause he alleged he fixed the leak and it wasn't. We called Old Republic again yesterday, then someone came out today, took things apart, saw what was wrong and solved the problem. He said, "This is bad. This is bad. This is bad." We just got called back for approval on the whole job to be done the correct way.

Old Republic has protected my home very well. I like the program because they respond and send someone out. The service people could be a little quicker in getting out here, but I understand they have to be worked into their schedule. Submitting a claim is easy. I generally do it on the phone. The service people call and explain who they are and when they'll be here and what their job is before they come. They set up an appointment with me. They've been very good. Overall, Old Republic has done a good job for me. They're a good home warranty service.

The insurance was added to the house when I bought it, and I've owned the house for about a year. When I made a claim for my water heater, it was replaced. The tech was very professional. I called for my dishwasher as well. 'Cause I had somebody come fix the filter water in my house, and they didn't say anything about disconnecting it completely. I thought something was wrong with my dishwasher. When the tech came, he said, "Oh, no. It's just not connected. That's why it's not working." Overall, Old Republic's process was quick, and I like it. I even renewed my policy because it's easy to just call, and they send somebody to come and fix it.

The customer service with Old Republic is okay but the response time for the people to come out is a little too long (like when they did the ice maker). That needs to be a little faster. On several occasions, I had to call them to see when they were coming. Two months ago, a contractor came out to try to repair the spring on the garage door. But Old Republic didn't pay for it because they said they couldn't repair the old one and I needed a new spring. I had to come out of my pocket and pay for it. I'm not sure what I'm paying with all this. But prior to that, Old Republic covered a toilet that was backed up.

Check No ** $630.00 and the check cleared on 05/20/2024 and yet they still won't give me my home warranty. Every time I call they hang up on me. It's been 5 months and I'm still waiting for them to send me plan details. The check was obviously cashed, but they never gave me the service.

When I bought my current home, I chose Old Republic because I had a better experience with them prior. There hasn't been any hassle with the claims process. They keep on top of every claim mostly. I haven't had to pay much out-of-pocket versus if I didn't have the home warranty. I had an air conditioning go out and they sent somebody out that said I needed a whole new air conditioning, and he ended up breaking my water heater, so I told Old Republic, “I need you to send somebody else out because I'm not gonna use him for my water heater and my air conditioning.” He was a plumber and I think he did it on purpose. So they sent somebody else out, and he was able to find the part to fix the AC without me having to get a whole new unit.
The customer support at Old Republic is always great. If somebody can't come out, they get somebody else out faster. You'll get a contractor assigned to you right away. They normally contact you within 24 to 48 hours if it's not a super emergency. Every contractor that I have worked with through Old Republic has never said anything bad about them. When I worked with the other companies, the contractors would have a lot to say about that other company. Old Republic is pretty fair. Their trip fee is the average trip fee price as any other one. They picked the better contractors, granted they had sent that one out that I had trouble with, but they ended up fixing that and sending someone else out. It saved me from getting a whole new AC unit. On some equipment, they only pay certain portions on some equipment.

I used to have a warranty before, but I didn't keep it. A friend was saying how Old Republic had covered his air conditioning unit when it went out, and I thought, "Oh, goodness, that's very expensive and I definitely need coverage just in case." I signed up for it in July, and I've used it twice. Both experiences have been excellent, except I don't like that I don't see an update on the website. If I go on the website, which I try to do instead, there are some dropdowns and I have to fill in my address, then it recognizes that I have a warranty. However, it doesn't say, "Your warranty is in progress." It would be really nice if it did so I wouldn't have to be calling each time.

We used Old Republic once to fix our dishwasher, and the process was easy. I called and the rep I spoke with was very pleasant. They called a plumber and the plumber came and fixed it. We bought this house at the end of August and it came with Old Republic. But I'm not sure if we still have the warranty because if we hadn't renewed it, it was supposed to end in September.

Through the years, I had to keep calling back and making sure the claim will go through. People wouldn't take it and I wouldn't know till a little later. They wouldn't call sometimes and I would have to call back and find out. They would give me the number and tell me I can call but why should I have to do that? If you have me on file for a work order, then aren't they supposed to be calling me to notify me?
The last claim I had was for a refrigerator. The first time they came out, they thought it was something wrong with the defrost in the refrigerator. They put a part in and it didn't work. The second time they came back, I told them it was still a problem and my box was not cooling anything. They said it was my motherboard. They took the motherboard out and that took a few weeks. They came back with that but that wasn't working. They sent it back and they said, "Oh, well, now that we have the second new one, this one isn't connected to your refrigerator either." Then, they found out they don't make that part anymore. I also had a heating check for the winter thing and one of the guys that was here before found a problem and said they could move the little pipe over because it was too close to the unit. All that time, it had been like that since I've been here. Nobody said anything or did anything.
I'd tell others to be careful because Old Republic is always switching up those contractors. And if they can't get one, they gotta fish around and find another one. Also, their price went up extremely. I would not say I was all dissatisfied with everything they did, but certain things up until the last thing and how they would they just cut me off.

When I did a recent claim for my hot water heater that wasn't working, a plumber called me 30 minutes later and told me he was on his way. When he got here, it took him an hour and he was done. It was a valve at the bottom, and he replaced it. It was excellent. Four years ago when I bought the house, the hot water heater went out and it was the same valve. It took the guy a day or two before he got out to fix it. The second time, my stovetop wouldn't light. No matter what I did, I could smell gas but I couldn't get it to light even with a match. A repairman came out and redid the whole top of the stove. It took him a couple of days because they had to order parts. But this last time, I no more than hung up the phone that the plumber was here. I was very happy with that. Also, if I had to bring a plumber, it probably would have cost a couple of hundred dollars. But it only cost me $85 with Old republic and I was happy with that as well.

It's easy to submit a service request. I call up Old Republic and they're very prompt, right away getting somebody out here. As soon as I call them, they contact the servicer, and the servicer contacts me and comes right out. I went with Old Republic because they're better than all these other companies, guaranteed. They pay their workers, and the workers rated them top gun because they treat them right. They were having a bad time with the other guys.
The service person, Daniel, is an excellent guy. He was out here before working on my icemaker and he did everything he could to fix it. It only worked for a little while and it failed, but it's on Samsung's end, not his. He did a good job. He came back and I had the refrigerator and the dryer on there and he said it wasn't right what Samsung did to me as far as buying out the refrigerator for $700. It should have been fixed, and if it couldn't be fixed, they should have replaced it. Now, Old Republic is doing everything they can to get me the satisfaction I need to get another refrigerator for the replacement. That would have never happened if it wasn't for Daniel coming out here yesterday.

The technician came out and vacuumed everything inside my dryer, and he told us what the problem was. My husband contacted someone to check that problem. But it didn't end up being that problem. It was something else that didn't even have to do with what the tech said it was. We had to pay $150 for another technician to come to my house. But overall, Old Republic answers the call quickly when I reach out to them. But when it comes out to services, it depends on what you need. If it's AC, sometimes it can take up to a week.

Having Old Republic is worth it. When the AC started to act up, I called the 1-800 number and the claims process was fairly quick. The part that kind of sucked on my end was that it was real late in the afternoon when I was trying to get everything done. I was out here working and my wife was at home in 85-degree heat along with my kids. So I had them wait overnight before somebody came out the next day. If it would have been earlier during the day, Old Republic could have gotten to it a lot quicker than when the guy got to it.

Old Republic came with a home that I purchased and I've been with them since July 1st. I had one claim with them and they did a great job with my air conditioning that was not cooperating at the time. I called Republic and they told me who to get ahold of and I did and they were out within a couple of days. The claims process was not difficult. I've had no issues with them. I just called them again because my refrigerator died and they will be out shortly. A refrigerator dying in Rancho Mirage, Palm Springs area is not cool. If my friends needed a home warranty, I would suggest Old Republic. They're very reputable.

It’s very difficult to get home warranty companies on the phone line. But Old Republic Home Protection has been okay. The last time, I was able to get ahold of a live person easily. The contractor got out to the property in a timely fashion, but being a property manager and not the homeowner, they would not always communicate with me as to what occurred. I would always go in reverse of, “Is this done? What was done?” Sometimes I would have to close out my work orders without knowing what was done because the tenants were, “I don't know.” If you can afford to replace an HVAC system or the hot water heater if they went down, you probably don't need a home warranty company. If you cannot afford to replace either of those equipments, you probably need a home warranty company.

We submitted a claim online to Old Republic for a refrigerator. The process was easy. The contractor called us to schedule the appointment. They were thorough. They said that they just had to clean out a hose very thoroughly. They knew what they were doing. So, we were happy. Old Republic is great. This is the only company we use. I’d recommend them.

We went with Old Republic because that is what the title insurance purchased for us when we purchased our house. We've been with them for almost two years. The first claim we did was about four months after we purchased the home. It was for a swimming pool circulating pump. We called them because it didn't work at all. It worked during the winter, but we didn't use it a lot. Then when we needed to start it at the beginning of the springtime or summer, it didn't do what it was supposed to do. So, we called them and said it wasn't operating properly.
They found a company to come and check it out. The company came and checked it out and installed a new pump within a week. They were very good. Everything's working good. We like that it was one phone call to get the process started, and usually, somebody called us back within a day. There is a minimum charge of $85 to start the process. We pay that to Old Republic but once we have done that, the process moves along very quickly. We are very satisfied.

I called the Old Republic Home Protection number and there was a machine. I pushed a couple of buttons. I finally spoke to somebody. I gave him the issue. He sent me a technician to come fix the problem. He was upfront, told me what the problem was, got it done and went on his way. He said there were a couple of things that could be the problem. He would have to see what it was of these three things that he mentioned. None of those things were it. He found out that the line was plugged. It was a couple of weeks ago when the temperature was 105 degrees without an AC unit. It was horrible for four days until the contractor came to fix it. But the problem was solved the first time.

I got a phone call from the person that was handling, I was given the person's name and the company they work for, and I knew what they were coming to look at. The ac tech knocked on the door, came in, spoke with me, opened the attic, and went up there. He was very quiet. He did his job, gave me an explanation, and left.

They could be a little tighter on things like doing checks. They should call me and make sure that the things that were ordered got done. They never called to check with me. The techs have been good, though. They usually call or text me before they come and I know who's coming. I know their names and phone numbers.

Our central AC unit went out overnight. I was able to login and submit a service request. Understandably, because the request was submitted after hours on a late very Wednesday late/very early Thursday morning, the first available appointment was that Friday. The service response was appropriately quick. The only part that I don't like overall is the increase in the warranty plan's annual price as well as the service calls which have both gone up rapidly over the past couple of years. The coverage and response time are both good and very much appreciated.

I've had ORHP for three years since I bought this house and transferred it over. Dealing with this company has been a big hassle from getting a resolution to fix or replace an ac unit. My first claim in winter of 22 and being 24 years old 3 ton unit the service report was to replace it with a lesser brand than the Trane I had. After waiting on phone for over an hour several times going back and forth with them about their unequal equipment brand and extra $2500 installation charges I had to pay, (we used space heaters and fireplace for >3 weeks to stay warm), I took a buy out of $3400 (their new 3 ton unit cost) to put toward the install by a local sub of my own choosing to get the quality I wanted. They don't tell you clearly up front that they ONLY provide the equipment unit or parts needed and ALL the installation costs ($2500 in this case) are paid by you which included things that weren't needed.
My second claim came in winter of 23 on my other 24 year old unit and they replaced a fan vs the unit at that age (cheaper for them). Then in the summer of 24 it quit on the ac side and they wanted to fix it again with just replacing the air handling unit (vs the entire system) and keep the 24 year old condenser (part that's outside) which would give me mismatched parts and still an old unreliable condenser. So I took the buy out again for the wholesale value of the parts, saving the $2400 install cost of the part (Wow!) and put it toward a complete new unit. Then I get a letter that I cannot renew my policy. Why??? Because they had to pay out more than the premiums. So insurance must NOT be a win for the customer. I'll save the money for the next repair.

When he arrived, he addressed our situation quickly and explained ways we could avoid a clog in the future, which was very helpful. Takes on average 3 business days for anyone to come. Then they send idiot no-name contractors. I always have to complain and get the claim reassigned. This takes more time cause I start all over in the queue. If they had contractors, I'd be happy. Easy to start a claim and customer service great, just can't provide the service I am paying for. I am still without a working fridge and contractor coming does not even want the model/model number. So guaranteed this is going to be a 3 visit fix spanning weeks I won't have a fridge.

Insurance Co. rejected claim to repair or replace not working spa heater without informing me! Repairman said it needed a new circuit board and left to order one. I got a note from repair company that claim was rejected and a $4200 est. to replace heater at my cost! Will not recommend Old Republic!!

Ac vendor was not qualified. Did not thoroughly asses the issue. Instead offered a "solution" that did not address the problem. I emailed to dispute the $100 charge and not heard back. Had to schedule my own vendor to come take care of this time sensitive issue. Too much of a hassle to schedule.

Both of the recent vendors were horrible with little to no communication. Not resolving the issue with the first visit. No follow up communication regarding a rescheduled visit. The a/c vendor falsely claiming they sent someone out when they did not. The a/c was probably the worst of the two vendors, I definitely would never recommend that company to anyone. :(

I have had Old Republic for several years for several of my properties and my clients properties. I also experienced other HW insurances. I am generally happy with the customer service and their responsiveness. However, the providers are not as good. Sometimes it takes several providers to come for the same service and each have different diagnosis. They are more interested to get the service call that doing the repair. Also not sure why they keep using the ones that have bad reviews. I recommend Old Republic to send customers surveys and reviews of each provider and the ones with bad reviews to be eliminated.

We just moved into a new house and the dishwasher is at the end of life. We kept getting rusty dishes every time we washed them. I called and requested a new dishwasher. The handyman that was sent out replaced the racks which didn't help. Two days later he cleaned it. He was fine, but ORHP will not get me a new unit. Very frustrating. Not happy. I will not be referring them to anyone.

I was very please with the service I received and the men who came out were very nice, friendly and helpful. There was a misunderstanding that I wasn't too happy with but all in all I was happy. I was told the rekeying would be a no charge and then I was charged for the service. I called and was told that I'd need a coupon for a no charge. I don't have a coupon, so I have to pay and don't understand why I was told it would be a No Charge.

Multiple issues including a fraudulent service provider for the initial visit. Second opinion scheduled twice and then cancelled. Trying to find my own "service quote" but ORHP is not helping and service area is limited. Received one quote however was more to replace the item. This is extremely frustrating as recently moved into new home and used the item a few times and then it broke.

Updated on 10/29/2024: Do not purchase a home warranty from Old Republic home protection. I paid in good faith for seven years on a warranty to cover my home, including my air conditioning unit. During the heat wave in California my air-conditioning unit no longer worked. The technician sent out with a bunch of lies about how my condenser was damaged by either pet or children and that it was installed incorrectly and how I needed to call my real estate agent and my home inspector. Well guess what? I bought that condo in 2017 so that’s not gonna do me any good is it.
After some poor reviews that I left the warranty company sent out another technician to take a look. But surprise, surprise. He came up with the same baloney lies that the other technician came up with. This company just doesn’t want to replace my air conditioning unit. I realize that it is an old unit and it doesn’t need to be replaced, but it was under warranty with their company for seven years.
The HVAC company that I finally had come out and replace it says that it was normal warranty. The condenser was not blocked. There was nothing damaged. It was just normal wear and tear everything that these two technicians said was not true so basically lies. This company just doesn’t want to replace the air conditioning unit. Shady and unethical and I will tell anybody I know do not buy a warranty from this shady unethical company. The technicians they send out are liars and they probably get a kickback for making up lies so that the company doesn’t have to replace the AC unit. Like I said, unethical and shady horrible business practices. I wish I could leave no stars.
Original Review: I had a home warranty with Old Republic for seven years. So for seven years, I paid in good faith for coverage for my home and for my HVAC system. My HVAC system started having problems and Old Republic dispatched a technician who is a total joke. He claims that my HVAC system was installed incorrectly and that it wasn’t installed on a slab and that people have been sitting on it. None of these things are true. So, of course, they denied my claim to replace my HVAC. When I asked for a second opinion, they said no second opinions. They also don’t allow independent second opinions.
So now, after paying seven years in good faith to this warranty company, I have to replace my HVAC system on my own. The technician was very rude and hard to talk to. It’s very hard to talk to a person to help you with your problem in this company. You are put through a phone tree and it’s circles around. You’re encouraged to contact them through their website and they call you back. I work in an industry where I am not allowed to be on my phone so it’s very hard to catch the phone calls. So they leave a voicemail and tell you to contact a specific department, but that department is never offered on the phone tree so you just go around in circles. Do not use this company for your home warranty. Their business practices are unethical and shady. They’re happy to take your money, but once you need their help, they deny your claims.

I've been with Old Republic for 16 years. I like the technicians that they send out and I have appreciated the service that they have rendered. Especially the last one that worked on my air conditioner. I love that company and the same guy comes all the time. He's so nice. We have to pay in advance before the techs do the job, which the lady explained it to me. She said sometimes the technicians are not allowed to take the money, so they have to bill us. Then people get delayed about it. So, I understand that that's a new practice.
Old Republic keeps the rates comfortable. I've compared with other ones and they're higher. My children have experienced some bad issues with some of the other companies, so they've dropped them and they don't even have home warranty anymore. But I keep Old Republic because I’ve never had issues. They're very efficient. As soon as possible, I get a call from the company that's going to work on the problem that I have. And I don't have to wait, which I like because I don't want to delay.

On most everything, they've been great and I have connected with their approvals department with a lady named Nancy and she's been outstanding. If I can't get ahold of somebody else, I can call her and she gets right back. Even though it's not her area, she'd look into it for me or even send it. Right now, it's just their service calls and rates went up, but their service has been really great. I have multiple policies with them and I recommend them.

I've had Old Republic now for quite a few years and they've always done right by me. I'm gonna stay with them. I've told people about them and two of them went with Old Republic. They take care of stuff when I call and have a problem. They are always pretty efficient in getting things done. Their contractors are very good as well. I had an air conditioning unit done three months ago. A real nice guy came out, found something that was bad and took care of it.

Old Republic was already on the house when we bought it and there weren’t any problems so we just kept it. I’ve done claims both online and by phone, and it's easier to call. The reps were pleasant and got us the people we need. Most of the techs were very good but we had one that we had a problem with. He argued with my son and the tech just left without saying a word. It took four different people coming out and about four months to realize what the problem truly was. In the end, the appliance wasn’t repaired because it wasn’t something that was covered.

The breaker that whoever built the house used shouldn’t have been in there. The electrician replaced it but it didn't fix the problem. So, he's in the process. We’ve been out of the country for a couple of weeks so we couldn’t get it done. In the meantime, the electrician didn't do anything with it until I got home. I called him on Saturday and he's gonna call me today sometime, telling me what he got from the insurance company. He has to call Old Republic and let them know that it didn’t work the first time and if they're gonna do what they're gonna do. So, I'm waiting to hear. But everything seems to be okay.

I had the worst experience with this company. Please stay away from them. Had an issue in my basement. Instead of help I now have to deal with the expenses of repairing my basement and the fee that they charge me. And all they did was bring a dumb plumber into my house to say exactly what I said over the phone. What a waste. Never again. Don't trust this company.

We have had a horrible experience so far with ORHP. We purchased our home on 8/2, within 2 weeks the AC system went out. Which is unfortunate for all involved, we had just had an inspection done and all was working with no issues. We are in Texas with summers over 100 degrees, we needed it fixed asap. The service provider that was sent out agreed it needed to be fixed and couldn't put a date on when it went out. Again we had an inspection just prior to purchase and it was working fine. It was denied saying it had to be a pre-existing condition. Obviously it wasn't as we had been living in it for a couple of weeks and all was working, plus again we had an inspection, specifically for the AC. We had to get it fixed asap so we hired a different company that replaced both the outside and inside units as they were both out. We continued to talk to ORHP as we didn't agree with their decision.
We finally got it reversed as they finally spoke to both contractors and read our inspection and realized there was no way to prove it was before the contract was bought but at this point we had it replaced. ORHP only agreed to pay us back what they would have paid had their contractor gone out to replace. Well there was over a $4000 difference of what they will not pay us back and what we paid. This seems like a scheme and a plan the entire time. Make your customer pay for it and only pay a portion back on their mistake. This is ridiculous and so unprofessional. We have a year long contract and are praying nothing else breaks as I am sure they will find a reason to say they won't cover it. Terrible company!

Plan is fine but I feel cost increases this year are somewhat out of line, For those of us who are on fixed incomes it becomes difficult. Most recent visit for plumber was not good since individual that was sent did not seem to have sufficient experience.

I've had Old Republic for years and they’re the insurance people that I call. I had a service call with them last month and they were unbelievable, really good. A man came and put in a new water heater. He took care of it and it was a very good experience.

I've used Old Republic several times and I've been pretty pleased with it. When I have a problem, I call them and they send somebody out, and I pay an $85 fee upfront. The claims process was pretty good. They were pretty prompt about it and the people that they sent out has been good. So, that's why I wanted to try to go back with them if I could. I liked the people that they sent out. They were pretty nice, on each company. They were prompt. They did what they were supposed to do. So far, they fixed things and only thing that cost me was that upfront fee.

I've had to do a couple of claims with Old Republic Home Protection. They've been good. I called and sat on the phone for 45 minutes. While I was on the phone, I was able to get the online thing done and hung up. But it would be nice, because I had some questions, if they answered the phone.

Old Republic has been my home warranty people for two years. Contacting them to have them send someone out has been okay. I just put in a request and they give me the information and somebody contacts me. Old Republic has its ups and downs. Would I renew with them again? I will not. I had an electrical problem and the electrical guy came out and he told me to call to make sure that they were gonna cover the drywall because he had to make at least 11 holes in my bathroom in two separate bathrooms. So, I called and the lady on the phone told me it was covered. I told the guy, "Yes, she said the drywall is covered." He made another date to come back out to fix the electrical. He did that, and then I said, "Okay. So where do I go from here?" He said, "Contact them, and then they will have a drywaller to come out and fix it."
So, I called Old Republic back after he got done and I said, "Well, he's done with the electrical work. Now, are you guys gonna send somebody out to do the drywall or do I gotta outsource it?" The rep said I could do either way. I said, "Okay. Well, I'll just outsource it." I outsourced to have somebody come patch up the holes and fix everything and the only thing they didn't do was paint. So, I painted it myself. The lady from Old Republic had told me that they would just reimburse me the money and I said, "Okay." So then I called and told them, "Okay, it's been fixed, et cetera. Where do I go from here?"
They came back and told me that my drywall is not covered. I was like, "But that's not what I was told. I know you guys record everything. So won't you go back to this date and listen to your recording?" They were like, "Okay. Somebody will contact you within a couple of days." Two days later, somebody contacted me and said, "Okay, we're gonna cover your drywall. You'll get a check for $550." I was like, "Okay." I left and went on vacation. This happened in May. I left for my daughter's birthday on June 17th and came back a couple of days later, and I haven't received the check. I waited until July and haven't received a check.
So I called them, then they come back and told me that it was not covered. I said, "That's not what I was told. I know you guys listen to the recording. Won't you guys go to the recording?" They transferred me around and somebody called and said, "No, it's not covered." I said, "But that's not what I was told. I was told by multiple people that they were gonna cover it, then I was told that it was not covered, and then I was told that they were gonna pay me anyways because it was misspoken." Then I said, "Okay, whatever." I just hung up on them. I haven't dealt with them since. So, as soon as it's done, I'm gonna find somebody else. I will not go back because if they are not training their customer service people right, then there's a problem. If they don't know what's covered and what's not covered, they shouldn't be speaking.

I’ve submitted requests to Old Republic both online and by phone and I’ve had a very good experience with the rep. We have had it for four years and the pricing is getting more and more expensive every year. But the coverage is excellent. We used it a few times for air conditioning issues and so far, it's excellent. Our air conditioner is 21 years old but it’s still working so that says something. I couldn't ask for anything more than what they've done. Everything’s been good with the techs. I have experience with other home warranty companies because I'm a real estate broker, and knowing the experiences of clients, Old Republic is the best. They've always responded and everything's always been fixed. So, we never had any issues.

When I bought the house, my realtor got us a home warranty with Old Republic for 13 months. However, when I submitted a claim, I had a lousy experience. Our AC quit on a Thursday afternoon and they couldn't get somebody out here till Monday. I called a different company and had them come fix my AC. When Old Republic's AC tech got here, he said there was nothing wrong with it. I said, "Yes because I already had it fixed."

When I placed a claim with Old Republic, they responded and had somebody come out. It was for a refrigerator repair. The service person came out and decided there was no leak. It was because the power had been turned off and the freezer leaked. But when he put it back together, he did not tighten the screw that holds the door. I did not notice it then a couple of months later, I called and asked if he could come out and tighten the screw. He said there would be another service call. I didn't think that was right. I did not engage him to come back for a second service call and I still have a loose handle on my refrigerator door. That's a relatively easy fix for somebody that knows about refrigerators, and it should not require another service call.

I've made two claims. One, the guy came out and there really wasn't much for him to do. But I'm not dissatisfied with his performance. The other one was the more major one. We had a microwave break and the tech said he couldn't do the work because it needed two people and his company only had one technician. Old Republic lined up another company for me and that guy came out and diagnosed it as a bad fuse. They're supposed to come back on Tuesday to fix it. The only complaint I would have is that, it took a long time to get a serviceman out because they were so busy. The first appointment they had was two weeks out. And now, because one guy couldn't do it because he needed a second person, it went another two weeks. Otherwise, everything's been pretty good.

When I did a claim for the AC unit with Old Republic, the reps on the phone were very professional. The contractor came out early on the scheduled date and everything was fixed. It was a satisfactory experience and I would use them again.

Old Republic seemed like they had a good price. Plus, my realtor had experience with them and she was very confident with them. So, I signed up with them. I recently made a service request online and the process was very smooth. It was approved and the work was done. I didn't have any problem with the techs and since they came out, the appliance has been functioning normally. But I haven't received the bill yet for the deductible.

Old Republic was part of our closing on the home we bought so the previous owner purchased the plan to go with the sale. Then, we sold the home and we purchased an Old Republic plan for the buyers of the home. It was great dealing with the rep when we had a claim. One group of service providers evaluated the issue and one group came out and said what needed to be done. And another group came out and fixed the issue. So, it wasn't a one size fits all type of interaction. The price of the policy is great. It's no big deal.

Old Republic's representative has been very good, friendly and has answered my phone calls every time I've called. When I did a claim, I told them what was wrong and they said they'd get somebody out. But the first person they called never showed up. They had me stay here all day on a Saturday waiting for these people. I kept calling and it took a while. I had to get with the representative that sold me the policy to get the ball moving and change who they sent out.
The second repairman came out when he was supposed to. When he came in, the washing machine had started working again. It drained itself and worked after four days. He read all the error codes, cleared it out and then did an update on it. So far, that seems to have worked. However, you have to pay $100 every time somebody comes out. I also don't fully understand my whole coverage. We weren't covered on a couple of things that I called about and I had to do a separate well policy.

We purchased a home in April and our realtor recommended Old Republic. Recently, I reached out to them for our air conditioner. I called and described what the problem was. The automated system told me which company would be coming out, when to expect them, and that they would give us a call. It worked seamlessly and they had somebody dispatched out right away. It was wonderful. I met with the guy and he helped me learn how to fix some of it myself next time. Old Republic is a genuine company who really lives up to what their brochure says. If you need to use their service, they're going to be very receptive and make sure that they honor what they're supposed to.

When I made a phone call to use my Old Republic policy, they had an automated system which was very easy to use. The very next day, I received a phone call from a technician and they were able to come out that day. They diagnosed the problem and got it fixed, and I was super pleased. I liked the quickness with which my claim was answered because I live in Alabama, and when your air conditioning goes out, that is the most important thing in the world.
A couple of days ago, I got my bill in the mail and it looks like it's going to be fairly easy to go online and pay it, but I haven't tried that yet. It looks like there was a code on the bill to help me get registered on the website, so that's a good sign. I would tell others that it would be wise to get a policy with Old Republic. Also, a friend of mine who is a realtor and a home flipper said that Old Republic is his absolute favorite.

When I first moved in, Old Republic was who I had for the first year. I liked it and decided to sign up again for it. It's worked out real good. The repair is immediate. I got one of the providers coming today.

We've submitted quite a number of service requests to Old Republic Home Protection, and our experiences with the reps have been extremely well. They send out excellent people to do the service. We only had trouble with one but they rectified that. They sent somebody else out different after we told them that we had some issues. They didn't hesitate and the next morning, the new person was out there.

This is the worst service I have ever had in my life. Had a real plumber out that told us the water heater needed replaced (16 years old). Then my husband remembered about the home warranty. They sent a joke who said, "Oh it just needs maintenance," and then never responded to us again. So we contacted Old Republic again and they sent another joke. We paid the fee for the maintenance and now I have no hot water. After working a 13 hour day I would just like to take a bath and take a shower before I go back to work in the morning. Y’all suck.

We went with Old Republic simply because our Realtor recommended them at the time we bought this house, which was about three years ago. I had never heard of them but she said she had a good experience and she knew a rep in the area, and they were reliable. From the beginning, we got quick responses. They have been very good and it has been important to us because we bought an older home. Some of the people who came were excellent and the AC guy was great. The AC guy I had before him, Roy, was very good. But he got ill and had to have surgery, so he's no longer working. Everybody who has come out has been pleasant but some people are more quality than others. FA AC has been good.
The AC guy came out here and every time he came out, he improved the situation. It would go for about 10 days and then it would seem to fade. Then, he discovered the hole and he recommended that we get a new one because of where it was and what it was. On the same day he told us that, the Old Republic people ordered what he said we needed immediately and it was installed within five days. It was very quick. I think they ordered on Thursday and the next Tuesday, he was installing it. This was a couple of weeks after Beryl came through. It might have been four weeks. But it was hot on the heels of Beryl coming through. Ours was not related to Beryl, but still, everybody was fighting for all the same technicians and somehow, they still made it happen. So, we couldn't be happier.
Old Republic is very good to return your calls and answer the phone in the first place. If the person you get on the phone is not exactly who they feel you should be talking to, they transfer. And when they do, you're not on hold for 30 minutes. It may be a minute or two before the next rep gets on there. The one time that I was on hold for probably about 15 minutes, when they came back on the phone, they told me they had just talked to the technician, found out what they needed to order for this air conditioner, and had already placed the order. That's the longest I had ever been on hold and yet, he had done all of that in that amount of time. So, that was good. I recommend Old Republic to anybody who's listening.

Overall ORHP has been a great company to work with. Putting in work orders is easy, efficient, and they will have someone out within a few days. My only grievances are being charged when someone has come out but my appliance hasn’t actually been fixed, and long wait times on the phone.

I called Old Republic when my refrigerator was not cooling correctly. They notified Spears LLC and Jamall ** was here the next day, ordered the fan, and came as soon as he got the part and replaced the fan. Jamall was very knowledgeable and professional. I would definitely recommend Old Republic for anyone looking for a home warranty.

My plan was to expire on Sept 24th. So when I renewed it on Sept 6th they made it only good till next Sept 6th, 2025. They should have renewed it as of the expiration date of Sept 24th, 2024. They cheated me out of 3 weeks of coverage I had already paid for. This is not a good way to do business. Sneaky. The woman on the phone didn’t say she was doing this. I only knew once I received the renewal email. So I had paid for three weeks (till Sept 24) that I am not getting. They made the renewal date the day I called which was three weeks early. You should extend my new plan until Sept 24, 2025 since you cheated me out of 3 weeks of coverage I had already paid for. Please fix this. Is this even legal to do??

Old Republic has been perfect. I had water leaking under my vanity recently and they fixed it right up. When I called to make the claim, the process was easy and when the techs came out, they were great. Having Old Republic makes you feel better and I would recommend them. In case something happens, you're good without coming out-of-pocket a whole lot of money.

What I have loved about Old Republic is that they respond and dispatch a technician within 1 or 2 days. Excellent service every time! And the technicians are lovely and professional. What I did not love was how the renewal price of my plan doubled and I could not afford it so had to cancel.

I've been using Old Republic for about nine years but one year, we had a dishwasher problem that we had to keep calling them out on and because I called them too much, they dropped me. I have two houses. I'm able to use them on one but I can't get them back on the other. I still like the company. They have the best vendors and I've never had a problem with the contractors they've sent out. I still recommend them. I just tell people to be careful how many times they call them out because they might get dropped. I'm in real estate and I’m the first to order an Old Republic. I have good experiences and I would love to have kept on with them but they have to draw the line somewhere. So, it's alright.

Old Republic is not the best. When I call in a claim, I would prefer to speak to somebody that follows this claim completely through. We had an air conditioning claim repeatedly last year and at one time, I spoke to 27 people. So, it's ridiculous that every time I call in, I have to speak to somebody that puts me on hold and tells me they have to catch up on my chart. I kept asking to speak to a manager and they would say they were the manager. If I need to speak to a manager, I want to be able to speak to a manager. So, then I said I wanna speak to somebody above them and they would say there was nobody above them. There's always somebody above. I don't wanna be passed to the person sitting next to them or at the same level as them. I wanna be able to speak or know of a way that I can actually speak to somebody higher.
After the people come out, they should ask us if they did a job. Because now they're telling me they're not gonna fix something that a worker they sent out two years ago caused a problem with. I’ve had techs come out for the pool and I asked for the same company again simply because they didn’t make us wait a week to come see if they got us. The first time we had to use them was a holiday and somebody answered the phone. So, the last two have been good. But some of the techs that Old Republic sends out don't care. They're awful. So, not everybody is the same and the majority of them are not as good as expected.

I was sent 8 emails in last 3 weeks to remind me to renew. Called to renew and was told we were not eligible to renew. Very unhappy. We paid in full 2 years in a row and now we are turned away and they have vague explanations for this. We were happy with the service but not this experience.

I have had one repairman out twice who blamed the electrical box, an electrician who stated it was a blown fuse on the air conditioner, and another technician who stated the compressor was broken. His company has a bad phone and has not yet replaced the air conditioner- the house has been 91 degrees inside. I appreciate my new refrigerator but it took 3 technicians before I could schedule a replacement. I also appreciate the washer/dryer plug in as I could not see it was not plugged in.
I work in a job where I can be sued for unfinished work so it is difficult to leave the job. I can only leave the job after 130 PM because of working with patients in the morning. Having to meet so many workers to determine how to fix the problem has been upsetting. I hope to soon have a new air conditioner but it does not have to be the top of the line. Thanks.

It took almost a week to get the call for the appointment. The technician arrived a little late, but he did an excellent job and on top that he thought me how I could do it myself in case of an emergency. The job was done fairly quick and clean.

My wife and I have 4 separate policies with Old Republic. We switched old policies over to Old Republic as they expired years ago. We are extremely happy with their response time and the service companies they do business with. They are the best warranty we have ever dealt with.

Initial call went fine, they sent out a local tech within the first couple business days to assess. Unit declared dead by tech. ORHP's policy is 10 biz days to find suitable replacement. It took the full two weeks, meanwhile with no MW at home. They source the same unit (I could have done that in two minutes on Lowes.com). It was priced at under $225. They requested my agreement to order it and deliver it. They sourced the delivery company. Another full week. Unit shows up damaged, had to reject delivery. Still without a MW and it's nearly a month in. All this to save $125?? C'mon man. What if this was my fridge?? Expect me to live without a fridge for nearly a month? There's got to be a better way.

Since May 29, 3 different calls for HVAC not performing - running all the time - noisy outside unit. May 29 - Bennett AC replaced a part on the exterior unit, then came back the next day and replaced another part. August - AC Running all the time - Bennett AC came out, said we needed a part. They couldn't find it. ORHP told us they had 14 days to try to find it. It took 30. Bennett came out and put in the part. HVAC Noisy all over again. They came out the next day and replaced the part they put in on May 29 with the right motor. We have been charged 3 trade call fees of $110 each and waited 30 days on parts. I'm a real estate broker and have sold ORHP Protection Plans for about 20 years. I'm not certain that I will look to sell these in the future. The AC Company said I wouldn't be charged the last trade fee, because they were replacing a part - ORHP charged the fee. Lousy service all the way around.

When we bought our home, our broker set Old Republic up for us, and I've been renewing it ever since then. They've been great. I can't think of anything that could be improved. I like that I've got a warranty on some major items like my AC unit, my pool equipment, and my water heater. Submitting a claim has been fine. I either call the number or get online and submit a claim online. Usually, somebody gets back to me. It's easy.
I did one claim not that long ago. The air conditioner just stopped working. It happened on a Saturday. Luckily, somebody came out on a Monday. It was just a condenser that needed to be replaced and I had to have some coolant added, too. I'm gonna get on a routine with this AC company to have them come out every year. They notice stuff like that before something happens.
