Hi.... I'm not sure this is the correct place to address this but.... A plumber replaced a faulty heating element (I believe) but said the breaker was tripping. So, we had S&M Electric come to the home to do that work and the water heater is STILL not working. I think that there is further work required on the water heater. How do we get the plumber back out there?? Call me @**, or, Chad ** (my son and the resident) at **.

This company does not answer phone calls from customers on a timely basis. It takes from one to two hours for them pick up. Do yourself a favor and choose another warranty company!!!! My next door neighbor experienced the situation when tried to submit an invoice for reimbursement. This not an isolated occurrence with this company!

Old Republic Home Warranty Review – A Frustrating and Disappointing Experience. My experience with Old Republic Home Warranty has been extremely disappointing, and I would not recommend their service to anyone looking for reliability or peace of mind. To begin with, reaching customer service is a challenge in itself. Every time I needed assistance, I had to wait hours just to get connected to an agent. While the dispatch process was relatively fast, the follow-through from assigned contractors was abysmal. No one contacted me proactively, and it became my responsibility to chase them down — often with no success. The real test came when I had a leak in my home’s main water line. Old Republic assigned Pristine Plumbing for the job. They showed up three days later, attempted to dismiss the issue as a non-warranty concern, and quoted an inflated price to fix it — On top of the warranty coverage.
To double-check, I called in another licensed plumber, who clearly identified the problem as a warranty-covered main line issue and quoted just $1,350 to fix it. When I contacted Old Republic again, they sent the same contractor (Pristine Plumbing) back for a recall. After reluctantly admitting that their first diagnosis was wrong, they still insisted on charging an extra $2,500 on top of the $2,000 they would already receive from Old Republic — A total of $4,500 for a job that should cost less than one-third of that.
Frustrated, I requested a new contractor. Old Republic assigned someone else — But once again, no contact, no updates, no returned calls for three days. Meanwhile, the water leak persisted, risking further damage to my home. Ultimately, I had no choice but to pay out-of-pocket and have my own plumber fix the issue properly and promptly. This experience has shown me that Old Republic is not a company you can count on when you need them most. Between poor communication, lack of urgency, questionable contractors, and no real accountability, I feel like I wasted both time and money. I would strongly advise others to look elsewhere for a home warranty provider — preferably one that actually prioritizes the customer and handles urgent issues with the seriousness they deserve.

I have my home warranty through them. My air conditioner has been sketchy since last summer (bought the house last summer). They sent their people to come over and said everything was awesome (keep in mind the air was not cooling or circulating). Fast forward to November and my refrigerator went crazy. Called them and they said they’d have someone come over. No one showed.
Do NOT use these scammers.

I made my first call to Old Republic (a home warranty company) for two faucets leaking. A kitchen faucet and a laundry room faucet. The repair company was very nice and attentive, and recommended the two faucets be replaced. Old Republic said they only replace with "builder's grade" products, i.e., trash. They allowed $75 for each faucet, that included purchasing the faucet and the labor for the plumber to do the replacement. What a joke. The insurance is worthless to me for this call. I'll buy my own decent faucets and install them myself. After paying Old Republic $100 for the call. Should never have called them. When you buy their insurance, they never tell you that they won't replace what you have. They only give you the cheapest crap they can find and you're stuck with it.

I purchased the platinum service thinking I would be covered for just about anything. It covers everything except whatever the problem is. Calling customer service is a nightmare. The hold time has been anywhere from 30 min to and hour and most of the time you are transferred to another person with another hold time of 30 min to an hour. I would not recommend Old Republic to anyone.

We went without air conditioning for three weeks. We had gotten a call saying the needed parts were ordered, however a few days later when we called to check in we were told that the parts were not ordered and were waiting on the contractor. The contractor refused to work with ORHP and our process of getting our AC was stalled with little to no answers on how we progress forward. The contractor, Just Mikes, did poor work and installed our furnace a few months early with errors.
We ended up calling in our own professional to get our HVAC fixed, which they found that Mike had not actually fixed the problem when he installed the furnace and that was leading to our AC to not work. We spent hours on the phone with ORHP throughout this whole ordeal and were continually unable to get a clear answer, which led us to have to seek our own repair as our home was reaching the upper 80s for weeks. We are extremely disappointed with the service we have received and will not be renewing our warranty with old republic, it has cost us more money than anything.

AC was checked due to electricity blinking off & on. Technicians actually checked it twice, as it did it again after first inspection. They didn’t just stop there though, but referred it back to Old Republic for electrical inspection. This was done in a matter of a couple days & all was determined to be fine. We have had no further issues. We are SO grateful for the thoroughness of technicians and especially Old Republic.

We are 100% satisfied with Old Republic. In the six years we’ve been with them, they’ve come out for a heater that wasn't working, we’ve had air conditioning go out and they were here promptly, they were just here for a leak under our mobile home, and they're coming out on Wednesday to fix my refrigerator. So, they’ve been quick on getting things done, they've all been very nice people, and customer service has been good and helpful all the time.

I've had Old Republic for five years and my experience with them was average. It's nothing spectacularly great or incredibly horrible. It's in the middle of the scale.
My recent claim was for plumbing. They came in, took a look at the toilet, and fixed it. They repaired it in one day. But I also had an air conditioning issue before that needed to be fixed and I couldn't get anybody out to fix it. I actually had to call out a person myself and pay for it because Old Republic wasn't getting back to me fast enough.
They could upgrade by having more people available to answer calls so that the customers can talk to somebody when they call versus having a recording that sends you in a loop. They can be a little bit more diligent in making sure their customers are happy because their customers pay quite a bit of money to be part of the program.

I love Old Republic. When I purchased this house seven years ago, I told the real estate lady I had to have a home insurance and she hooked me up with Old Republic. On the second year, I upgraded with them and I've been with them since that time because service is Type A. Any time I call in, 24 hours, somebody is being sent. Usually, I reach out over the phone for claims and lately, it takes a lot for them to answer, but I'm able to reach them.

When we bought the home, it already had Old Republic as the warranty so we kept it. But now I am looking around for other warranty companies. It has not been easy to file claims. We normally call in. Now, you leave whatever problem you have on a recorded line and they respond.

We received Old Republic Home Protection when we purchased our house about a year ago and the agent bought a plan for us. I’ve had to file claims for plumbing and the AC. The plumbing issues were a little confusing at first and it took a while. But finally, everything was taken care of, and everything else seems all right.

Old republic was the home warranty that was given to us. I usually submit my request over the phone and our most recent claim was for a leak under our sink. I called on Friday and they came on Monday. He did the repair, but it didn’t fix the issue. This was my first experience with this one. I feel like it’s wishy-washy through Old Republic.

I've been with Old Republic for 10 years. The customer service has been fine. It's just the wait time when you're calling. Sometimes I've been on hold for 30 minutes or more before I got to customer service. When I do get someone, the interaction is good.
Some of the technicians have been trash. We've had a few plumbing issues at our house and technicians have come out not really assessing the situation and not knowing what was going on. They didn't do any work, but you still have to pay the fee.
I've put in three tickets for the same issue and it hasn't been resolved yet. There have been three plumbing companies that have come out. The first time, they did something, but they did not complete the full issue. The second time, I don't even think the guy looked. He just told us to cover the drains up and he left. He seemed like he was in a hurry when I was trying to talk to him about it.
The last company that was sent out said they had to order parts. So, we're waiting and it's been two to three days since. He said the part was coming in the next day, but I haven't heard from him in two days since he told me that. It seems like they are going to do the work, but they just haven't done the work yet.
So I don't have an issue with Old Republic itself. It's just the wait time some of the companies that they're contracted with are not the best companies. I did refer my mother-in-law when I told her we hadn't had any issues. They have eventually worked with us or repaired everything that we've called about.

The service providers sent out by Old Republic are horrible. I had put in a request for them to come and check my electricity. To this day, I don't know exactly know what is going on. Either the air conditioning, electricity, or the wiring in the house, or that old box that's out there that controls everything. I never got any service for the electricity because they couldn't get anybody, so they told me to look.
I didn't know anybody. I talked to some people and they would recommend somebody. But ld Republic requires company name and all that stuff. And these people, they just work on electricity. Finally, that request, they said that they couldn't send somebody for electricity. It was up to me to look and try to find somebody.
Finally, I got somebody from GE that would come in and check my electricity. They checked and told me I needed a box outside that controls the whole house thing. And Old Republic said that would not be covered because they did not send somebody out here to check it themselves. That was my first problem.
Old Republic did send somebody for my air conditioning. I told them what was happening with my air conditioning and they sent somebody. My AC was shooting black dirt, so he came and checked. The only thing he checked was the pipe hat’s supposed to drip water. He said that was clogged up. He flushed it and cleaned it out. He did tell me my coils either needed to really be cleaned or get new ones. And I asked, "Does the company pay for that?" He told me, no, they don't pay for it. I was expecting him to open that box on the top to check where the water was coming from, and to check to see if there was a problem somewhere. He didn't do that. I expected for him to run a camera into the air ducts to see if I had a leak. He didn't do that.
He didn't even step outside to look to see if the unit had a problem. He didn't check the wires out there to see if there was a problem and that's why my lights were blinking, none of that. So, I was not impressed. I expected a whole lot more than what I got. I didn't care for the man Old Republic sent because he didn't check anything except for my coils. I'm glad he did that, but I did cancel the service with Old Republic.

We used Old Republic for our first service appointment for our HVAC system. The guy was absolutely great. I never got any kind of invoice from Old Republic, though. I had to call them to see..
The guy was very unprofessional and took the payment, though, but he didn't let me know where to go on my Old Republic web login to find the invoice. And when I do go to my web login, Old Republic can't find my property address, so I can't even look up services that I've had in the past. It doesn't even seem like I could have paid it online, so I'm not really sure what's going on with that.
But in general, the service guy was great and he fixed our issue. We’ve only had Old Republic for a few months. With the hot summer months coming, we just started turning on our AC. And it wasn't working at all, so he came out and fixed it right away. When I called in for the service, I did not get to speak to someone. It was all automated, which I did not like. I would have preferred to talk to somebody to let them know my issue. They did get to it within about a week. I would have had liked it gotten addressed a little quicker.
I appreciate Old Republic sending a decent person out to get the work done. It got fixed. It's a reasonable price. I just feel like the process is just too automated.

It was all right. In a nutshell, our dishwasher wasn’t working properly. They sent an appliance person out, and he determined the water wasn’t hot enough. Then we had to get a second vendor and pay another $100 copay.
The second vendor, who was a plumber, came out and increased the heat on the water heater. So, it ended up being two charges and two trips instead of one, but the problem was resolved.
When I contacted Old Republic, the call was short with very little waiting. I spoke to someone, and they said they would contact a vendor who would reach out to me to set up an appointment. The first time we called, the representative said they would send an email or text with the name of the company.
That vendor was supposed to contact me, but a whole week went by, and I had to call the company several times. Then I got a text saying they had reassigned it to a different vendor. I wasn’t very happy about that. But as far as the warranty taking my call and assigning a vendor, that part was good.

My experience talking to a customer service representative at Old Republic has been okay. I submit my requests over the phone. The technicians they send have been fair. When they came out to fix something, they tried, but they couldn’t fix it, and the issue still hasn’t been resolved. I’m still waiting because I have to pay.

The other two were appliance claims with the same provider. They did not seem to be knowledgeable. They set expectations about what was going to happen, and then other things occurred instead. I just didn’t have a good experience with that provider.

I raised 2 service orders. The first service order was fully serviced efficiently. The second service, the initial assigned contractor never reached out, but ORHP was very proactive at keeping me informed and finding another contractor to assist. The only issue was that I was billed for the latter service order prior to the work being done.

I don’t have a problem with Old Republic. I’ve been with them for four years. My son referred me to Old Republic. He worked in air conditioning and he told me about them.
I submit my claims online, and it’s great. It’s done right then and there. The contractors are good and they’ve been consistent.

Usually, the agencies that they hire respond pretty quickly and have been professional.
I would absolutely refer them, and I have two people who actually joined after I referred them.

I have been with Old Republic Home Protection for six months. It has been a very good experience so far. Their service is very good.
I requested a claim by phone and they took care of it. I haven't had any issues since they came, but I'm still monitoring it now.

I've had Old Republic for about 18 years. I've had good luck with them. Well, service is one of the best things about them. They come right away when I have a problem and fix it. They're really on the ball. So I've never had a problem with them.
Their people, Tony and Hawthone, are great. Tony's been coming probably for that many years. And Hawthorne was the first one that came about two weeks ago to fix the air condition unit.
I've told several of my friends about it. I don't know if they ever went with it or not because I haven't heard back from them. But they asked me who I had and I told them so. I think a couple of them were in Baton Rouge, and they said they didn't cover Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

No reimbursement after the "technician" declared the 23 years old washer unrepairable. He lied about it in his report. ADA Repair LTD claiming that the machine was overloaded. This company's YELP rating is 1.7 stars from the almost 300 reviews. The NV account manager tried to get the reimbursement, but ORHP refused it.

The warranty co reassigned me to Graffi hvac since the previous contractor Optimum LLC did nothing to diagnose the issue. Crappy company and should not have been contracted by Old Republic in the first place. After numerous complaints they finally reassigned me to Graffi who is very wonderful to work with. Still waiting for parts to arrive. Hopefully it gets installed without problem since we have other issues on another a/c unit. I’m not sure why a reputable company would not screen their contractors to weed out problematic contractors. I intend to keep them as long as they honor their responsibility to provide good and honest services to their clients.

I had two issues that were resolved within a few days. The dryer tech actually had the part. The ice maker replacement took 5 minutes. These were by far the fastest resolutions ever with ORHP. The only issue is that I couldn't submit two different service requests at the same time. I had to wait a day to enter the second one.

My A/C went out in Texas during a particularly warm week in early May. Old Republic sent out a work order to a local contractor and they had it fixed in record time! I love knowing I have Old Republic to take care of so many aspects of my house. My water heater broke just a couple months prior and I was not at all stressed having to replace it because I knew it was covered.

I have been waiting to get my microwave oven combo to get fix since October last year years and they be sending me or finding unexperienced people. Until now they have not fix it yet. I believe it is worthless having this type of insurance. I been talking to someone higher and all they said is that if they have to wait for a year to get resolve they will get a year. I am not happy at all with the runaround and lost of days missing of work to get my microwave oven to get fix.

We have an almost 40 year old air conditioner that is leaking refrigerant, leaking oil, and completely rusting apart. It is an environmental and personal health & safety hazard. Old Republic is refusing to replace the unit even though we have been paying for the air conditioner supplemental coverage for over 15 years now.

Several times we have made a service request and were assigned a contractor that did not service our area, after waiting a week for them to contact us. Another time a contractor never contacted us after we left messages for over a week. Also, it's very difficult to get someone on the phone when you call, with long wait times.

ORHP is always responsive. I like they assign a contractor as soon as you submit a claim so you’ll have the contractor’s information for communication. I like you can submit a form online if you have an issue and a representative from ORHP calls you within a few hours. Best Home Warranty company I’ve had.

The company you chose to respond was located in Florence Az. I live in Oracle Az. They were prompt in calling, I told him that I flipped the breaker and it worked again. It sounded like I needed a new condenser. It was a Friday on Memorial Day weekend and due to his location it would not have made sense to come all this way, agreed by both but he was willing! He said to call if it happened again. I then discovered it was still under manufacturer's warranty so I used the company that installed it and it was covered. My tip is to be better at finding businesses that are in the area as there are abundant heating and cooling companies in the greater Tucson area much closer than Florence.

Communication and service visit were professional and timely. However, service hand said he would recommend replacing washing machine and since then...crickets. So...what's up? So far it’s been pretty good. The online portal makes it easy to put in a work order and they follow up really fast. Any time I have questions, I call and get them answered. Sometimes the wait time is kind of long on the phone, but usually they handle things really well.

As we have been loyal customers for years with several different property accounts, our recent experience with selling a property and cancelling its account has solicited an unprofessional response. I asked for a copy of my policy and was promptly given a copy by a different section of your organization. Two responses for this communication: first, we are not understanding the fact that we are not receiving a refund, as there is no verbage in our policy that applies to this instance, and second, we are speechless as to the lack of professionalism by your staffer who did not answer our inquiries about "why" we were not receiving a refund.
As I reviewed this policy, the no refund rule that Anthony ** <**> articulated in his emails below did not outline nor list the rule of days used and services used to reflect as a debit toward the annual policy fees. In the past we have received refunds for the pro-rated days used against the total annual fees we paid for the policy.
So we have promptly canceled, over a month ago, another of our property policies because of these issues. To date we have yet to receive a response to that second canceled property account, and it has disappeared from our login. Absolutely horrible. These are childish and lack professional responses to what should be the best customer experience. Old Republic Home Protection sucks!

I’ve been doing okay with Old Republic. It was given to me by the seller when I first bought the house, so I just continued with it. I haven’t really used it much, but the technicians have been great and everything has been good.
My only thing is that it used to be a human being when you called, but the last time, it was a machine, which was a little aggravating. With a human, you can explain everything, but the machine just doesn’t understand some of the questions.

A co-worker told me about Old Republic. I liked that they cover more than our previous home warranty company did, and so far, I’m happy with them. I've only had to file one claim so far, which I did online, and it was very easy. My only thing is that the menu on the website was a bit limited, they could definitely add some more options.

The air conditioner wasn’t working, so I called Old Republic Home Protection. It was a week-long process for the claim to be approved. The technician came, and said the condenser was broken, so he replaced it. He did a good job.

I filed a claim with Old Republic Home Protection for my water heater, and they gave me the service information. The contractor never showed up, so I called Old Republic and told them that they had taken the money but I didn’t have the services done. I was refunded very quickly and easily, so I didn’t have any problems with it.
The claim process is wonderful and very easy. I’m one of those people who likes talking to a representative instead of doing it online, which is pleasing because the people are very responsive and informative. I don’t have a problem with them, and I would give Old Republic Home Protection beyond 5 stars if I could.

Old Republic was recommended through a realtor. We had some issues with the HVAC system. They came out and said there was a leak. They refilled it with Freon but then we had another leak. They came out, refilled it with Freon, and that’s when I started a request. They sent another person out. Then I never heard back from anybody I called. Old Republic said they’re gonna get in contact with the technician that was out there. He never responded to Old Republic or me. So, I called again and got a different technician out. He went and looked at it. He filled it up with Freon, said it was definitely a leak and recommended a couple things be replaced. And then I never heard back again. I had to pay a $100 service call every time they came out and it’s 250 bucks to get Freon loaded up. So, I was paying for almost half of the service call.
I called Old Republic again as I was getting a little frustrated. I told them that it seemed like there was an actual problem with the HVAC system and I didn’t want to keep band-aiding it. I asked if we could have it fixed. So finally, they sent the technician back again to take pictures of everything and put together an estimate of what it was going to take to fix. I have to pay a portion of it which I’m assuming would be between 10% and 20% of the total repairs.
Right now, it seems like they’re just going to replace the entire unit. I’m pretty excited to get a new unit in the house instead of having something that’s constantly breaking and never know when you’re going to have heat or when you’re going to have AC.

I am the property manager for a guy who owns an Old Republic Home policy for over 10 years, and that was how I heard about them. Their customer service is average at best because it is not really a person, it is an automated call. I always setup a request on the phone, and sometimes it can be frustrating because it does not understand what I am trying to say. If I could talk to somebody, I can be on the phone for 5 minutes versus 25 minutes.
Still, their contractors are always honest, straightforward and very knowledgeable. The last guy did not even charge us anything because he said that there was not much he could do about the issue, and I appreciated that. He could have easily made something up and charged us like some do. Overall, my experience has been good, and they have a fair price. Just be prepared to be on a call for a little while because of the automated thing.

Years ago I bought a house for a rental, and the renting agency suggested Old Republic Home. They have been very adequate with the service that they provide, and I am very pleased with it. They have been very good when I make a call. Their price is high, but we get the service for that. I have multiple policies with them, and I highly recommend them if you are looking for that kind of coverage.

My interaction with the customer service representatives when I called was good, and the technicians they sent out were really good too.

We’ve been extremely disappointed with Old Republic Home Protection due to a poor experience with a contractor they required us to use In June 2022, we filed a claim when our garage door springs broke. Old Republic sent Citywide Garage Door Services to complete the repair. We paid our deductible and the repair was done. We thought that was the end of it.
Fast forward to March 2025, and the springs failed again. After having a trusted and competent garage door technician evaluate the issue, we learned that the original contractor had installed the wrong size springs, which not only caused them to wear out prematurely but also led to our garage door opener failing well before its expected lifespan. To make matters worse, when we attempted to contact Citywide Garage Door, we found that the company is no longer in business. The business that now answers their phone number confirmed they simply acquired the number and are not responsible for any past work or warranties.
Old Republic chose this contractor, and yet we are now stuck with expensive repairs due to faulty workmanship — with no accountability from either the contractor or Old Republic. We trusted that Old Republic would stand behind their service network, but that has clearly not been the case. If you’re considering a home warranty with Old Republic, be aware that you may be left on your own if a contractor does poor work and disappears. Very disappointing experience overall.

I heard about Old Republic Home Protection through our real estate agent, and it was being offered as part of our home purchase. I used their online service and scheduled a visit. The contractor who came out had to make three separate visits. They first diagnosed it, then they showed up. It was the wrong part. Then they showed up the third time and finally fixed it. This was my first experience with them. I have had other warranty companies, and Old Republic is good.

My most recent service through Old Republic Home Protection is satisfactory. The tech was competent and polite. However, the issue has not been corrected. Our lights are flickering and he checked the main, and he said that it is not a main problem. It’s potentially the light bulbs themselves or it is an electric company problem.

Old Republic Home Protect is a good company, and I would refer them. However, it was difficult to file a claim for my refrigerator. I had to go through a person, then they sent an appliance technician out 14 times to fix the seals which were in a bad condition. Every time they came, then the seals failed again. I had to wait, and then take the food out.
Then they couldn't take the refrigerator out. It was a lot and took so long. It was a bad experience, but they ended up getting me a refrigerator. They have the highest yearly rate and the service call fee is substantially higher than some of the quotes that I've gotten.

Old Republic was recommended to the property owner and the property manager on the accounts by their Realtor. But it's been fifty-fifty with them. Property owners that I work with have multiple homes so I have a wide range of experiences. On the positive side, there are times when the AC has gone out and people who came replaced and fixed them with no issue, and I appreciate that. I've also had really good representatives who are proactive and go and call the technician out. That's the other half.
My latest experience has not been a good one and right now, I'm on that side. There are times when things are technically not covered. I know certain things are not covered, but there are a few times when it seems ridiculous. They seem like simple fixes and these should be covered based on the amount of the repair because I already spent the deduction, and the fact that the deduction went up quite a bit from last time. It was originally $85 but now it's $110.
I've had one or two experiences when they call out technicians who are not the best people to work with. They are not proactive with calling or they just don't know what they're doing. It wasn't pleasant. They didn't seem like they understood what the issue was. I don't know how they source their technicians but some of them don't seem capable of doing the job. Overall, consider the overall state of your home. If it's relatively in good shape, I wouldn't recommend spending the initial cost plus all the costs of the deductions. If some things are slightly older and might need repairs, I probably will recommend Old Republic.

Honestly, the communication from Old Republic is terrible, but I will say the home warranty itself is very convenient. Every time I've requested a service, I never get a call from them or the people they facilitate the service to. I’ve submitted claims and gone four days without any kind of correspondence regarding who’s doing the service or if it's even being taken care of. I can go online and see that it’s all being taken care of, but both times I’ve had to be the one to reach out to find out.
One of my claims was when my water heater was leaking. Luckily, it’s on a slab, so the leak wasn't getting into the drywall or carpet, but it still took almost seven days to deal with. On the fifth day, I had to call and ask who the plumber was that they were sending out, and they just told me I could call the plumber directly if I wanted to. It could have been a lot worse, but luckily it wasn't.
The problems are solved, so I can’t complain about the quality. Once they actually showed up, both technicians were decent individuals and they were great. They got the job done in a timely manner and Old Republic deals with decent providers, but the communication just isn't there. The service definitely needs improvement. I’m firm on communication. All they have to do is inform me. I’ll wait four days because I’m assuming they've done their job, but having to reach out myself both times was pushing it.

Not bad but not great. The annual premium and the service call fees increase each year. Customer service is helpful but slow. Their selected contractors never contact me in a timely fashion. Nothing can get approved after 5 p.m. or over the weekend. So, when it’s 115 degrees outside, and the AC is broken, it takes literally days of torture before any reasonable solution. It took a week to get the AC fixed last time. Today, for example I finally had to reach out to the contractor they selected for an air conditioning issue. It was the contractor that told me that they sent the order back because they were not able to service my property type since the unit is on the room. I still have not heard from Old Republic about this discrepancy. I plan to shop around the next time the policy is set to expire.

Seems they send out people that don't know what they're doing. We never renewed and plan on going with someone else. Would NOT recommend this company at all.

Old republic is in principle a good idea, but the process of getting a service tech from their pool is excruciating, especially given the usual response time. Getting someone to answer your call means a one hour wait at times, although the web request is effective sometimes (hard to explain what is wrong and not conveyed to service people). Also, one is never sure if the issue is covered or not after you have spent the service call fee which is now over $100. The other issue is the low quality of the service people. I have had them outright lie about what is needed, including claiming they have to cut up things to fix a leaky faucet vs changing the cartridge which I ended up doing in one case. The techs are not very good, although some are real gems.

I have been without a refrigerator for nearly a month. Still no replacement sent. You call and are on hold for over an hour trying to talk to a person to ask about the model number you were sent for replacement, they say it’s a 25.6 cu ft, the internet says it’s a 28.4 cu ft, and the link sent says it’s a 21 cu ft. Then you approve as long as it’s a 25.6 or 28.4. Then you get an email with a different brand different model number. This should not be this hard. I just want a refrigerator same color same size or larger. I should not have to take a smaller refrigerator.

When our sewer line under the house gave way requiring an emergency repair and ultimately a full replacement Simple Plumbing was outstanding at stepping up to make this happen. Ovidio scheduled and executed the repair and replacement on time as scheduled and we were up and running again in no time. Simple Plumbing represented ORHP very well.

Ultimately I’ve been very happy with my warranty as it’s been very well received and needed. My main issue is the lack of contractors in my area, which has caused having to have additional contractors come out for the same work. The other issue is ORHP really needs to look at the reviews contractors have online and kick ones with awful reviews to the curb. Because they’ve definitely demonstrated what the reviews indicate. While ORHP has paid for repairs, some of the repairs boggle my mind. In that they’d rather approve and $800 repair in a microwave that’s 15 years old instead of investigating the cost of a new one of only $225! Why they would even consider paying to repair one of that many years; especially, when they have to pay extra travel expenses for the distance really blows my mind.
Seriously if they want to waste that much money, I’d rather receive the $800 and go get my own appliance and have it installed. With that amount I could have also replaced my oven and microwave on $800. I have no clue how much they paid for someone to install my ceiling fans because they had someone from Birmingham install them which is an hour away. But I’m afraid to ask after the microwave issue.
My last issue is there’s NO excuse having to wait on the phone for an hour or hour and a 1/2! It’s not just the customer but also the repairman. Seriously my repairman installed 2 ceiling fans and he was on hold for the entirety of the repair! That’s completely unprofessional and unacceptable. Either hire more phone personnel or have a way to email you or put you in line for a return phone call. NOBODY should ever have to be in hold that long hence you call every time!. When it comes to paying according to their outlaid statements I say they’re dependable. Just the other issues I think are a waste of money or poor with customer service.

My previous warranty allowed maintenance for a fee and would call to schedule it. Old Republic offered something similar for $25, but you have to call and schedule it yourself by a certain date. When I tried to schedule it, I was told I would also need to pay a $110 service call fee. Since I have two units, that would have been $220. I didn’t understand the structure of the fees, so I removed the maintenance option.
Previously, one of my AC pans rusted out. I had been told it would be covered, so I waited. When it finally rusted through, a shut-off unit shorted out and I ended up with water damage in my walls. I was later told that pans are not covered. I probably should have replaced it earlier instead of waiting.

We’ve been with Old Republic for about eight years. My most recent claim was for an AC that stopped working. The technician came out the same day and was able to fix it during that visit. He was very nice. I’ve had a bad experience before, but he was nice.
The claim process is fine, calling in and getting someone out here is easy. It’s just that the cost isn’t very good.

The service was poor for our most recent claim with Old Republic. They sent out a firm they use locally, which came once and said they fixed the problem with our refrigerator freezer, but they did not. We called Old Republic back and requested a different company, but they sent the same people. The second time, the same thing happened. So, we gave up and hired somebody else to take care of the repair, and we had to pay $100 plus out-of-pocket to get it fixed.
When we called Old Republic, the customer service representative was fine and understanding, but the problem was that they chose a repair company that doesn't get work done. Both times, they said that they had repaired it. Unfortunately, it was a problem with the ice maker, and the ice maker didn't work either time. We actually had to have it replaced, which is what I told them in the first place, but they did not bother to do that either time.

We made a claim on our InSinkErator disposal on or around Fri 18 Apr 2025, and were quickly and efficiently responded to by both Old Republic and Extreme Plumbing and Hydro. Our experience with Extreme Plumbing and Hydro was absolutely great. The office was friendly and responsive and easy to work with. They got us scheduled right away. Erin was the tech that came out to do the work. She was prompt, professional and knowledgeable. She was able to get our InSinkErator disposal replaced without issue. My wife picked Old Republic, and it’s been iffy with them. I've had problems with a bunch of homes. I get my prices jacked up some from the service providers, and all of a sudden, I have to have modifications. Sometimes, they take the time calling my tenants. I also get turned down on a lot of things. They say it's not covered. It’s somewhat not totally frustrating, but I don't like that kind of business sense. If I'm gonna pay, I’d like it done.

I’m not happy with my first experience with Old Republic. I’ve only had the warranty for a couple of months. It was given to me during closing, when I bought my house. I recently made a claim for a problem with my refrigerator, which wasn’t cooling. They sent one of their technicians, who did absolutely nothing and left. The technician said he was going back to their shop to make an assessment and come back, which didn’t make sense. Then I never heard from him again. I called Old Republic a handful of times with no response. I ended up calling my own person to try and fix it, so I wasn’t able to use the warranty.

The electrician Felix with FFElectric was phenomenal. I had an appliance repairman look at the dryer previously. He found no issues with the dryer itself, and he thought it may be electrical. So, I submitted the service request, and the electrician fixed the issue the next day! They were super friendly and explained everything.

When I complained about one of their providers, they quickly referred me to a new one that turned out to be great. They also called me which was very thoughtful. After completing the entire request for service AND providing payment information…. “submit” is not successful! I tried THREE times. Only the third time registered. The company contracted by ORHP 1 month ago to fix an A/C problem, which cost us $125 copay, now exhibits the SAME problem! I’m not sure what to do. No one has yet called us.

I have paid twice to have my water heater looked at as the water smells, has sediment and is cloudy. Both times they denied the claim saying the problem wasn't bad enough. I cannot drink the water, brush my teeth or shower but glad to know "it's not bad enough" for coverage.

We got a home warranty through Old Republic when we bought our home and used it for two things- bad outlet and dishwasher that stopped working. Very satisfied with both repairs (replaced dishwasher through warranty) so we renewed the home warranty. Have had one electrical issue since and it was fixed as well.

After taking over 30 days to get a repair technician out last year and it not being able to repair because it was now too cold I followed up with Old Republic this spring and they were able to send out a repair technician after two attempts to get a air conditioning unit on one of my rental properties repaired. I've dealt with many home warranty companies as a professional property manager and in my opinion Old Republic is the best company to deal with. Even though they are not perfect They are much better than the others.

Old Republic has been fantastic to work with this year. I switched from another very large company after a less than stellar customer experience, and wish I'd known about Old Republic sooner. It gives me great relief to know when I call they will answer, and send help if needed. Living in an older home doesn't need to be stressful, they make this simple and easy to file a claim and get someone out to help fix things when they happen. I added additional coverage for pool, slab protection, roof, and feel confident that I'm ready for anything.

I have been for three years using your services and I must saying except one time, every Robb I have submitted for repair had been addressed and corrected. Extremely professional providers and if there is an issue, you quickly address it and get me the right he’ll I need. I used different company and by far, Old Republic is the best!!! The staff and easy to use features with Old Republic are excellent. They are very responsive. I would like to see them allow for review of the contactors who provide service as I recently had a bad experience with one who should not be paid for their service as another company had to come in and clean up their mistakes and lack of customer concern or follow up.

The guy that Old Republic sent for my claim was great. He was friendly, got the work done, and very quickly, knew what he was doing. I was happy with that. I kept his name in case I need just something else done. We had an issue with a burnout fuse on the furnace. Now, everything's good. My experience with Old Republic so far has been fine. But they didn't do anything other than give me a recording when I submitted a claim for the furnace.

My experience is terrible. I called Old Republic and reported a toilet leak at the base on toilet bowl. Old Republic dispatched a plumber to my place. The plumber identified the issue as a rusted/chipped toilet flange and wax ring. The plumber called Old Republic to get the approvals for the fixes. I also called Old republic and got confirmation that my plan covers both the wax ring and flange. A late later, a lady from Old Republic called me and told me that they denied fixes because the house is vacant. I told the lady that the house is NOT vacant, the previous owner has just moved out and I am moving in.
During the conversation, I mentioned that I am borderline obese and need to have a working bathroom. The lady then said may be your weight broke the toilet and Old Republic only fix and repair normal wear and tear and therefore, here is another reason to reject the fix request because you are obese. I was speechless. I am at my retirement age, 210 lbs and because of my height I am at range of borderline obese. I think any toilet can support 210 lbs of weight. Using any excuse, especially my weight, to reject a legitimate fix request is just beyond comprehension. As of this moment, I have no working bathroom. The toilet bowl is sitting in the middle of the bathroom. BTW - the whole conversation between me and the Old Republic representative is on the recorded line.

I’m happy with Old Republic. It was given to me by the Realtor when I purchased my home, and I’ve had great experiences with them. It was also easy to submit a service request. I usually call the number and do it through the automatic phone system. And the technicians that were sent out were pretty good
Unfortunately, I’ve had to call for a couple of different reasons, but the customer service has been great with all of them. They’ve been courteous and professional. So, I haven’t had a bad experience with them yet.

I've had Old Republic for two and a half years and I've only had one claim with the water heater. It took them 13 days to send someone out to make sure the water heater could get fixed. My husband dealt with them, but I just didn't like the way they treated us. They were quick to get the money, but slow to get it going. The water heater is working okay, but we still dropped them because we weren't happy.

I usually call Old Republic when I submit a claim. It starts out automated but then you can get a live person and they’re helpful. They send us an email with the name, phone number, claim number and they tell us when our appointment time is scheduled for. Then they’ll follow up to make an appointment.
What I like most about the service is that communication is good. We’ve had claims with them, and both times, the situation was resolved. Recently, our washer failed. They sent out two companies and three times, people came out to fix it. Once they realized it couldn’t be fixed, they offered to replace it. But it took a little while to get all the paperwork pushed through. I wasn’t confident in it so they offered a cash-in-lieu option for us to purchase something on our own that they would put X amount of dollars towards.
We went with the cash-in-lieu option and the process was easy. I’m terrible at making decisions so that was so stressful but it worked out and we got a washer. I would refer Old Republic and they’d be somebody to consider for a home warranty.

Keep in mind that the one star reviews are more than half the number of the 5 star reviews. Purchased their silver policy. Our garbage disposal was smoking. I waited over 45 minutes to be able to ask questions. The $100 they charge for a service call covers ONE only and NO REPAIRS OR REPLACEMENT! The plumbing companies I contacted do not even charge $100 for their calls. This company has found ways to invalidate ANY and ALL repairs that should be included in a $600 for one year policy. Before you can schedule any service at all, you must pay $100 up front. This company rips their customers off and I believe most of the positive reviews are fake. I cannot begin to tell you how angry I am that I wasted $600.

Our Realtor set Old Republic up when we purchased our home. We have it for 10 months now. It’s been fairly easy to file for claims. We make a phone call or go online. I went online with my phone and it was easier to make a phone call. We've had a couple of claims and we received the name and time the contractors are coming over the phone.
The very first claim we filed was within days of taking possession of the house. The former owners rented it back from us for two months and left us with water damage and leak coming out of the ceiling that they had identified as HVAC leak.
So we called and said we have an HVAC problem and the first vendor who came out was very abrupt. It ended up not being an HVAC leak. He was here for five minutes and said it was a plumbing issue. He left us on a Saturday morning of a holiday weekend with a leaking pipe and no recourse. And he didn't speak a lot of English. So we had to call back to the office and didn't find out until after the holiday what the issue was and they then sent a plumbing subcontractor, a few days later.
For another claim, a vendor showed up for the pinhole leaks in a copper pipe twice. He was on time and quickly fixed the issue at hand without any major problems. The first time it happened, it took a week to be fixed. The second time, it was a couple of days.
It's very easy to get a repairman out here and it's great peace of mind knowing that, when random things go wrong, help is just phone call away. And I think that first interaction was just an anomaly. So we’re really happy with Old Republic. The company is very responsive, easy to work with, provides good workers to come and fix whatever problems come up.

My wife is the one who usually meets with the technicians from Old Republic. Recently, she had trouble with the washer because it wouldn’t put out cold water. The tech who came out wasn't able to fix it, so my wife let Old Republic know and they sent out somebody else.
Old Republic charges $100 every time they send somebody out, and that’s not very good. Most of the things they came for, I could do for $100. Why should I have a warranty if I'm gonna pay every time anyway? I’ve had home warranties before that didn’t charge that fee. One time, I had them come out and had to cancel because I had to leave. I canceled it, and they charged me $100 anyway. I’ve probably spent $500 or $600 in fees when I could have had the work done for that price.

It took nearly two months to get my heater fixed. There was a lot of “he said, she said” between ORHP and vendor. So much so, I transcribed my conversations with every agent I spoke with at ORHP and vendors. Then when it was time for me to renew my policy, I was informed that my policy was being cancelled for having two major repairs in my first year (heater and A/C) it would be cost prohibitive to keep me on as a client.

Sometimes, Old Republic is helpful. Sometimes, they're not. They send out bad companies that have 1-star reviews and wasting the customer’s time. When they order for parts, the time is lengthened because it goes back and forth. We’re still having issues with our fridge. They sent out this one company that barely even looked at the problem. They need to get better third-party companies that do the work.

I have been try to get my air-conditioning fixed for 2 weeks and the technician came out and looked at it and tried to order the parts to get it fixed and was told that ORHW would take care of getting it ordered. I have heard nothing from Old Republic in 2 weeks on what is going on and still do not have AC and it is getting very HOT.

Old Republic responded the next day with Service Company Information, Service Company arrived on March 10, Updated Firmware, confirmed the Ice Maker needed to replaced. Service Company returned on March 11, to replace the Ice Maker. Very responsive company, great customer service. Would recommend to anyone who is looking for an Extended Warranty Company.

I placed a service order on 3/20, for a clogged sink. The provider called and scheduled an appt to come out on Sat 3/22. I got a message from ORHP that the plumber was unable to do the work because there was no clean out at the property. I called the provider and left a message to discuss and hadn’t heard back so I called ORHP on 3/25 at 8:53am and advised that I hadn’t heard back from the plumber. Lady told me she would reach out to them to call me and that I would still have 30 days to get fixed if I was able to get a clear out. I called another plumber and they were able to get the clog cleared just fine through the p-trap so I called ORHP today to see if I can get it paid for or my $100 service call refunded since the plumber that was sent out didn’t do the work and hasn’t even returned my phone call but ORHP is saying they have no logs of me calling when it’s clearly on my phone log that I called on 3/25.

We were looking for this kind of policy when we first bought our house. It may have been part of the sale, maybe the sellers or the Realtor set it up. It’s been a few years, so we decided to stick with it after the first year.
The representative has been nice. Everything else has been a positive experience, but I’ve had issues with some policies that didn’t seem fair. At some point, the details of a problem with our refrigerator were altered, whether by mistake or not, I don’t know. Because of that, even if we upgrade to a higher level of service, they won’t look at the refrigerator. And there’s been an unwillingness or inability to correct it.

My refrigerator was making a lot of weird noises. The technician that Old Republic sent out replaced a switch in it, and it seems to be working out. We’re going from there, keeping an eye on it to see.
The technician was very professional and very clean, and he explained everything, so I was very happy. A sister-in-law who has Fidelity has had some service calls with the same contractor. She’s very happy with them as well, so that made me feel better knowing somebody had already dealt with them.

What I like most about having Old Republic is they come on out. They don't leave me leaning and waiting, especially when I have something that really needs to be done. It goes smoothly for me. I call it in, they give me a claim number, tell me when somebody's coming out and how much I have to pay them. As far as having repairs done, I haven't had a problem. The dryer wasn’t working, which was a big concern, a contractor came out, fixed it and it’s working perfectly.

I took the house to put my employees in, and Old Republic was offered it to me at the closing. But I’ve had a couple of issues where I bought the top-of-the-line that they could do on the house, and then they come out. I had a leak stopped up, and they said they couldn’t do anything with it. I took my own employees, and they were able to unstop it. No problem. The drains were.
They just said they put their high-pressure deal in there and nothing would work. There was deal given, and I called them back. I said, “Look, I got the deal out. Would you please come back and just check it? Make sure there are no leaks under the house.” He said, “Well, I’ll have to call the warranty company.” He said, “Sometime they don’t want me to spend that money to put a scope down there.” I said, “Well, call them.” But I have never heard from them again.
And there was one plumbing problem upstairs, and they had to cut a hole in the wall behind the cabinet. And I said, “Well, do what you got to do.” And they got that cleared out. And then I had a septic tank that collapsed in. But then I read the warranty saying that they don’t cover septic tanks. I said, “Well, they told me they covered everything in the wall, outside, anything that was hidden damage.” But then when I looked at the policy, sure enough, there was an exclusion for septic tanks. So, I can’t blame them on that.
I own a business, and I wasn’t looking for any minute type stuff. I was looking for major components, like the air conditioner, a short in electrical wires in the house or something like that when I bought the house. Stuff that I could not fix.
Make sure you read the policy because sometimes you’re not getting everything you thought you were getting. I took it off the realtor that they would cover everything, and I bought it strictly for the stuff that did happen. When I bought the premium package, I thought it should include those. There was a refrigerator that went out, which they should have paid for, but I didn’t even call them to claim it because that wasn’t what I bought the policy for. Like any other insurance policy, if you need it, then it is a good investment.

I had my double oven repaired after it caught on fire at the top. I called Old Republic and the technicians who came replaced an element. About a year later, it did the same thing again. When I called them, the guy said it didn’t catch on fire this time, so the warranty wouldn’t pay for it.
I had to argue with them, and they still wouldn’t pay for it. I kept calling and calling, but I’m in my 80s and eventually got tired of trying to get them to fix it. My grandson helped me get a new oven, which cost almost $4,000.
Sometimes they pay for it, and sometimes they don’t. Recently, they did come out to fix the water regulator after Edison gave me a free electric hot water heater. Old Republic took care of installing that.
Old Republic sends out people who often don’t know what they’re doing. One time, a contractor came out to fix my toilet. Instead of just replacing the toilet stool with a $200 one, he decided to rebuild it completely. He took it all apart, and it took about six hours. He clearly didn’t know what he was doing and even had to call his wife for help.
They send out cheap people, and they’re working for Old Republic, not for you. Sometimes they’re good, and sometimes they’re not. Even so, I’ve been with them for almost 13 years. I never stopped, never went to another warranty company, and I’ve kept them anyway.

Our Realtor said that it would be a good idea to get Old Republic when we purchased the home. When I had a claim, I called them up and was able to talk to a person, not a robot. They were very nice and helpful. I had follow-up questions and they responded. They referred my claim to a plumbing service, and then they reached out to me about making an appointment. The day of the repair, I was running errands and he got here first and was very nice about waiting. It was only a few minutes, but some people tend to leave, so I was impressed with that. He came in, did the job really fast, and that was it. I appreciated that the service was fast, both from Old Republic and the contractor.

Old Republic has taken care of our issues very timely and handled everything very professionally. I like how easy they are to use and how quick the response time is. When I submit an issue, they’ll call me back within probably an hour and they’ll have a technician on the way. Lately, we had electrical issues with our air conditioner. We just called in, and they had somebody out here that day. We’re going to try to figure out how to extend the home warranty with them this year.

We were buying a home, and our Realtor told us about Old Republic. So we purchased the warranty. The first time we called them, we had two issues with our air conditioner. It was easy to make the claim, but in order to get approved and the repairs to get done, it takes forever, and it's horrible. It was 100-something degrees here, and it took them two months to fix our air conditioner. It wasn't the contractor. It was the home warranty. They said that it had to go through proper channels and proper commands. What I like most is that it was easy to make the claim. What I like the least is the time frame. They told me that for it to get approved, it could take 7 to 10 days. But they don't approve of anything immediately. It's worth it. It definitely saved us money because our unit was older it didn't have to be replaced. So we had to pay 400 bucks for the re-piping. But that's to be expected.

Pristine Plumbing arrived and spent almost an hour but they were unable to unclog the sink. Another plumber came the next day with a 50' snake and was successful in unclogging the sink. The second plumber also spent approximately 1 hour to accomplish the goal. Both plumbers were professional and friendly. I would recommend this company again. Thank you.

Response time was very fast. Our water heater was shutting off repeatedly. They send Alvarez Plumbing, in SoCal to fix it. The guys were great at explaining the process and issue and got it taken care of right away. Punctual and very professional. This is my second service through Old Republic and it's been worth it compared to paying full cost for repairs.

We have had ORHP for ten years, and I am questioning why I keep renewing. They always send providers with terrible reviews and sketchy service. We are paying a fee for a pool issue even though the company showed up and said it was electrical. The electrician was not helpful, lied to ORHP, and tried to call a buddy to refer us to. My husband was not comfortable and we ended up hiring our own company after research and paying out of pocket. When you called customer care to complain, they were rude and sided with the provider. Again I truly debate why I continue this policy… I pay extra for pool, but pool company can’t help us with a loud motor “until it breaks”.

I’ve had Old Republic warranty for 2 years. Most recently I called about my water heater. I was told under my plan that it was covered. What they didn’t tell me was the fine print. I had one of their providers come and check the water heater. The plumber deemed it as unsafe and drained it. He said that it would have to be replaced. This is when the fun starts who is going to replace it. I’m going on three days of waiting for Old Republic. They like to keep you waiting, lie to you and push it on to someone else. As of today I still do not have a water heater. I was told by a manager they call today by 11:30. It’s Friday and we know nothing will happen. I will never recommend Old Republic and will be cancelling. Good luck.

This company will constantly look for the cheapest way to solve your issue. Most of the time this creates a terrible inconvenience for the customer. Some of the repair companies they use are incompetent, yet they continue to send them out on jobs. Even when proof is shown of their incompetence. Do not recommend using.

When I bought my house, the Realtor had Old Republic on there. And I think Old Republic is all right. I like what they do. And I’ve never had any bad stuff with them except for a couple of times when I thought I was covered. Like when my central air and water heater went out, I didn’t know I had to pay all that money upfront for them to put those in. I thought all that was covered there. And they wouldn’t allow me to upgrade because they said that my account was ready to expire.
I also had an issue with my hood and stove. And Old Republic got me a new hood and stove, but I had to go outside to get it put in because the kid who did it didn’t know how to put both of them in. And I had to get a custom-made countertop to fit the stove that they sent me.
And submitting a claim over the phone with Old Republic doesn’t take long. Any time I have a problem, I call. The only problem I have is getting whoever is gonna do the work. So, Old Republic will give me the person who's gonna do it, but sometimes it takes them a minute to call me. And then when I call them, they try to say that they can’t get out.
One guy who was supposed to fix my plug took him so long to come out. And then when he put it in to get his payment, my bank called me and verified the payment for Old Republic.” And I had to tell him that it was right. And he said that that was a long time. The guy just took his time coming out here.
So, I try to get the same contractor if they can do it for me. And I never dealt with anybody on my plumbing stuff except for my bathroom, and that technician came out quickly. And so, I try to get the same person to come out. And for my electrical stuff, I request the same young kid to come out ’cause he’ll check all the plugs out, even if only one plug is out. The other electrician didn’t check them like that young kid do. He fixed that plug, and not long after he came, it went out again.

I’m a realtor and my daughter has a policy with Old Republic. I usually am the middleperson because they’re usually at work. I usually call over the phone to submit claims as I’m a talk-to-a-person kind of person. Everything has always been pleasant. The most recent claim was over my daughter’s heater, and it has been working okay since the repair.
I’ve used other home warranty companies. My big complaint is that if you don’t have heat on w weekend and then you call, it may be end of the next week before they get out there In some of the companies if they call somebody on a Thursday, and they say that they can’t get out there till next Tuesday, then they’ll give you the opportunity to find somebody else and submit the bill to them. The turnaround time sometimes can be aggravating. Also, I feel like a loyal customer should get some discount too. Still, I would recommend a friend to them.

Old Republic took very long. Every time I've called, they put me on hold, which was fine. I do understand you have to look back at tire reports to see what has been said so you know how to address it. But I was on the phone for 20 to 30 minutes each time I called.
The technician they sent for my refrigerator was not good. I haven't had a refrigerator in the home since we moved in here. So I've lost a month's worth of food during this whole course.
When he came out the first time, I explained to him that every three days, our refrigerator went out. But he punched in some numbers and said, everything's fine. So he didn't do any further diagnostics besides that.
He has actually been out three times since then. He came out and repaired it twice for two different things, and it still did the same thing. They told me that he couldn't fix it anymore. And they gave us a budget to buy a new refrigerator.
It ended up needing my refrigerator to be replaced, and I've already had to buy it. I submitted the payment to them about last week. And it said it takes 21 days.
Yesterday, I called them because of my dishwasher. I have to run it through two and three cycles. It’s supposed to be energy efficient, but it did not work. So we had the technician check it. He touched a few buttons and said everything was fine.
But they said that he only guarantees his work for 30 days. And I was two days past the time. So, I would have to pay for another person to come out here and look at it again.

Old Republic was included with the purchase of my house. I just looked at the paperwork to see how much the actual total is, and the service fee is very minimal.
I usually call, and the interaction with the representative has been good. I've used them three times. And every time, the problems are resolved within 48 hours. So, I'll say it's great, and I had no complaints.
I would say they should make the fine line on what is covered with Old Republic and what's not.

Old Republic is our home warranty. We just moved in. So, we've had them for like two and a half months, since January.
Our shower was clogged. So we filed a claim online. The process was really smooth and easy. I submitted on Thursday, and then the technician came on Monday. We had a plumber come out and help fix it. He was great. We would use him again.

Submitting a request at Old Republic through a cellphone is a little difficult. The website didn't really accommodate that too well. But it worked either way.

I’ve kept Old Republic on all my houses since 2017. They’ve made me happy over the years, so I’ve stayed with them. Calling the call center could be a little quicker, but that’s really my only issue. I understand that with today’s economy, a lot of places are short‑staffed. When it comes to handling claims, they’ve done a great job getting the work completed.
The home warranty provide me with the contact information for the vendor who will be reaching out and who will handle the job. Sometimes they ask me to call the vendor directly instead. The vendors have generally been good.
Recently, I had a plumber replace a toilet, and they did a good job. Old Republic took care of it. Their plan prices have gone up a bit, and I think the deductible increased from $75 to $110. It would be nice if the prices came back down some.

I had a claim one time, and the experience was good. A garbage disposal went bad, and I called Old Republic. About a week later, they came out and swapped it out. Old Republic is what my Realtor recommended to be the best one. The Realtor provided me with the warranty when I bought the house, and I stayed and renewed with Old Republic after the first year. My sister bought a house and I referred them, so they bought a warranty with them also.

Everything worked out great with our claim. Filing it was really easy over the phone. We were given the company name of the contractor that was gonna be showing up. We were told that we were gonna be given a phone call by the contractor, which happened, and everything went smoothly after that.
We had a leak in our water heater. When they came out the first time, it wasn't leaking so they couldn't determine where it was coming from, so we had to wait an additional week until it started leaking again. We reached back out to Old Republic. Then the contractor reached out to us and came out that following Monday, and they were able to locate the issue. Due to the circumstance, it was a lot longer than I anticipated, but I understand the reasoning why.
Everything was treated accordingly. We have peace of mind that if something were to go wrong with the home, someone can come out and address the issue. It's a 5-year old home, but you never know. I would recommend Old Republic to a neighbor.

I've used Old Republic already, but I found that really disappointing because I just got into a new home and my dishwasher stopped working after using it for the second time. I used my warranty that I had through the Old Republic and the guy came out and found that the air gap was clogged, so he just unclogged it. I was a little mad I had to pay 100 bucks for just for a minute's worth of work, but it's been working great. Overall, it was a good experience so, but I'll wait and see for future issues.

I had Old Republic send a technician because my fan kept coming on and I didn't know if it was a thermostat problem or a hardware problem in the attic.
When the guy came over, he was nice. He looked at the thermostat and said they were fine. He went up in the attic and found that the unit that I have for the upstairs has a specific thing built into it. It has a special thing attached to it that automatically turns the fan on whenever it wants and I have no control over it. It's built into the system. He also told me that this will have a minimal effect on my electricity bill.
I don't know if his diagnosis was right. All I know is that I paid $90 for you guys to come out and tell me that. I never even heard of something like that before. So I don't know if what he's telling me is accurate or not. I have not called Old Republic back about that yet because I am waiting to see my electricity bill and if it affected.

My experience with Old republic has been horrible. They owe me money. They're a rip-off and con artists. They're scammers. They owe me at least $200, plus my time and emotional well-being from what they put me through.
They put me on hold for two hours. They'll pretend they're gonna get a supervisor. And then they get another person. They put you back in the queue for a longer hold. Then they supposedly send out people. And they're all awful, low-rated technicians. And they all say no. I wouldn't recommend them to my worst enemy.
A company came out for the toilet but they didn't do a repair. Old Republic sends out bad, horrible people, or they say they're going to, and then they don't. They send someone else. They won't make it right. They say in their advertising, “We won't leave you high and dry.” They left me high and dry.
They told me $200. The guy called me and told me he would refund all my money. Then he just said, “Well, I'm gonna refund you the $60, not the other amount.” And then that took forever. I'm still trying to find out what they're gonna do about the $200, but I think they won't do anything.
The stove claim, they denied. But then they say, “Well, let me send someone else out.” And then even after they told me they were canceling it, they sent someone. Then they were gonna send another person. And then they canceled that on text. They have bad communication. it’s awful. And then when I responded in kind in how they were treating me, they blamed me and were abusive to me.
I'm flabbergasted by the whole thing. I want my $200 back. I can never get the anguish they caused me and caused me health issues because of this. And I was doing this for peace of mind and got nothing but headaches and horrible stuff. They blocked me because I complained and because I told them, “I'm not tolerating this.” They just blocked me.

Old Republic is a great service. We've purchased rental properties before, and we were given the option for the new home buyer protection plan and they offered us three. We looked at the policies, and we chose Old Republic for two reasons. One, the price is competitive and well worth the service. And two, we had a great experience with them before.
My tenant called and said the water heater went out. I called Old Republic, left a message, and the agent called me back within 30 minutes. She gave me the name of the contractor, I called them and they called me back right away. The service tech came out first thing Monday morning, said he’d be there at 9:00 AM. At 9:05, he was there. He was very responsive. He noticed that something else was wrong with the connection and fixed that. So not only was the representative great, but the plumbing company that they assigned was good too, so we're very happy. My tenant said it works perfectly and she’s very happy. I have had a number of claims and every time we've called Old Republic, they've been awesome.

Old Republic replaced my water heater. To submit the claim, I went through an automated system. And they give me the contractor’s name and number. They said, “They'll call you, but here's their phone number.” And it worked out great because they provided excellent service. Everything is functioning real good now. My wife took care of getting Old Republic Home Protection, and I think we'd had them when we were in California. Over the seven years, we've had two electricians, the garage door guy, and a couple of plumbers come out, and it’s always been very easy and thorough. My wife sets up the service with a phone call to a representative. As for the price, it is expensive, but not as expensive as dealing with other people would have been. We have recommended Old Republic to several friends.

It's peace of mind having Old Republic. I've been a property manager for our own properties, without having the service plan, and the out of pocket can be great. And I understand that I'm paying a fee every month, but so far, I've had a 100% or more return on investment on three properties. So, I'm very pleased with Old Republic. We had a plumbing claim in Sun City, and the property was empty. We told them it was a rental. They asked if anybody was actually living there at the time and if we needed immediate care. We said no and they gave us an appointment the following Wednesday. Otherwise, it would have been at night, and we weren't even sure we could get service because it was already midday. My husband met the plumber at the rental and he did the service. I haven't had any complaints about any of the contractors. Last year, we had an AC issue at my son's house. The guy who came out said it would have cost him over $500 if he didn’t have a home warranty. He only paid $75. It was really easy to log it in and request the service. They called, asked questions and then they scheduled it, and I could see the schedule online. I could see where my payment was gonna be charged online, when the service was provided the next day, the payment was charged to my card online. It was almost seamless.
The tenant who lived in Sun City bought his own house in Sun City, and I told him I like Old Republic because they seem fair. Everything is upfront, the portal is easy to use, and the service is good. They use local service providers and if you find that you just wanna call a plumber who doesn't qualify under the home warranty 'cause some things don't, there are limits like every warranty program, then, at least, you know who you can call for service and know that they're gonna do a good job.

I had my water heater leaking the other day, and I had to turn in a claim through Old Republic. But it wasn’t the actual water heater. It was the supply line, but it was filling water.
And the process was good. Submitting the claim online was easy. And then they got me in touch with somebody immediately, and then he came out and found out what it was and fixed it. He was able to tighten the nut and stop the water from leaking. The contractor was nice.

Though we have had 2 different service providers replace the same heating element and timer, we have not been offered a replacement dishwasher. It is mind boggling to me that a company would spend more money to fix a dishwasher that is 20 years old rather than simply replace it. Now we are out the $220 and will likely have to purchase a new dishwasher ourselves. That has been very disappointing.

Thought this would be major issue (both kitchen sinks backing up). Enrique from Tibercios Plumbing showed up quite rapidly and did his plumber things which we thought took care of issue. 2 days later back up occurred again in same 2 sinks in kitchen. Called Old Republic and spoke to Shay who with a can do attitude told me that ORHP would do a call back for original vendor. She did and the original plumber was back and really rocked in handling issue. At present all is good, wife is happy and cats now let me pet them. Thanks for all from us.

Awful experience from service provider. Required multiple calls to ORHP. First service provider never returned any phone calls and failed to show up to multiple scheduled appointments. After calling ORHP several times did they finally connect me with a reputable service provider. Extremely unhappy with my experience and will definitely be a factor when considering renewing my home insurance. I will most likely not renew.

JJ Appliance took 3X to fix the microwave with the same problem. The problem is simple: The microwave light is off when the door is close but the microwave is running. When you let the door open, the light is on but the microwave is off. I have to pay 3x call orders. It almost cost as a new microwave. Really disappointed. I hope this is never happen to me.

They are very responsive if you send them an email during an open ticket, but calling them is quite a different matter -- I have been on hold for over 40 minutes and no one answered. They assigned a dud of a contractor who never showed up but they quickly cancelled that dufus and found another. I would choose this company again over the other one (a company with a history and a class action lawsuit because they avoided honoring claims).

Old Republic has a portal online where you request whatever types of services under the warranty that you've purchased with them. And then they assign it to someone local in your area. They come out, determine what's wrong, whether or not your warranty covers it and fixes it. And then once they finish the work, then the claim is closed.
As far as any repairs that they've had to do for me, 50% has been good, 50% not great. They say they'll cover something, and then that one thing that's broken happens to just not be covered.
My pool pump was like that. I wouldn't say it's an older pool pump, but I live in Arizona, so it's very hot outside. It's sunny 90% of the year. There was sun damage to it, and then just regular damage or something happened to it. And I had purchased specifically pool coverage because that's not normally within a regular coverage so you have to pay extra for it to cover a pool. They refused to cover it. stating it would have been a problem before I purchased the home, so they wouldn't cover preexisting damage.
On the other hand, the garbage disposal was covered. It stopped working. And when they came out, they totally replaced the garbage disposal. So it wasn't like they just quick fixed it, they replaced the entire garbage disposal.
I think home warranties might be a scam, but I'm just not sure about it yet. Their call center is horrible. It's not easy to get in touch with someone. Using their website, their portal for putting in a request online, is a little outdated, but fairly easy.

When I purchased the house at the end of October, the owner purchased Old Republic as part of the deal. There's a trash compactor that didn't work they had to turn something on or maybe clean it out a little bit. They fix it. Then the washing machine was walking across the garage and pulling out from the wall. So they sent somebody to fix that. I had a recent electrical call where an electrician had to come out because the house was shorting for some reason. We still don't know why. But they seemed fine. I didn't have any complaints. They were helpful and responsive.

I had a garage door specialist come out the day after I requested it and had it fixed within an hour or two. He was excellent and had great communication skills. Other than that, I paid for Old Republic to send pest control out but I never had anybody come out. They didn’t have one that was in the area, unfortunately. It would be great if they had something they could set up and if they could get more contractors for pest control because I couldn’t really find one.

Old Republic is a great warranty company and I love it. My heater went out, I called for service, and the technician who came out was really good. He came on time, checked everything, figured out a part needed to be replaced and replaced it on the spot. It was really good. It’s worth having because it saves money.

I would recommend Old Republic Home Protection. With them, insurance is the right choice because of the prices and everything else. The recent service was a water heater that wasn't working. It was a good experience with Old Republic. But I complained to them about the third-party company that they used. The service was delayed because of the third-party company. Old Republic made notes and will address that.

My experience with Old Republic Home Protection has been quite frustrating. I've been a customer for about a year and have had to use their services once. I submitted my service request by phone, but the process was very frustrating due to the long wait times. I had to wait nearly an hour just to get someone to take my call, and then I got transferred around only to be disconnected. When I finally got through, I canceled a service request. Despite calling both Old Republic and the company that was supposed to perform the work, Old Republic claimed they had no record of my cancellation. Even though I canceled the request, the service provider showed up a week later, and I was charged $85 just for their visit, without any work being done.
This experience was especially irritating because I have COPD, so spending lengthy times on stressful calls is burdensome. To avoid any potential harm to my credit score, I reluctantly paid the fee. I decided not to renew my policy afterward because I found the warranty services offered by Old Republic to be more trouble than they're worth.
I had a similar experience with Old Republic years ago on another property, but at least the work got done back then. This time, it was just back and forth, never getting resolved in a satisfactory way, and I'm seriously disappointed. My family members have had similar experiences too, finding these warranty policies to be more costly than expected. Given this, I would not recommend Old Republic Home Protection to anyone. I believe in sticking to one’s word, and that doesn’t seem to be the norm here anymore.

So far, I've called them a couple of times, and the experience has been really good and helpful. Recently, I had an issue with my water heater in the garage as it was leaking. I've had Old Republic about six months and a month or so ago, we had a plumbing issue. I busted a pipe moving a vanity and I've repaired it myself, but I called out a plumber to inspect everything to make sure it looked okay before I patched the hole. The plumber was great. He did a really nice inspection and said everything looked good. No repairs were needed.

I submitted a claim related to my air conditioner, which stopped working after a power outage flipped the circuit board located under the house. Old Republic was fairly quick in their response, sending a technician over in about 3 to 4 days. The technician was knowledgeable and polite, resetting the circuit to get my air conditioner up and running again. Overall, I was very pleased with the service and don't see any immediate areas for improvement.

Old Republic covers up to $500 of code upgrades, if something has to be replaced. So, that seemed attractive because it seemed like everybody else didn't cover any code upgrades. I’ve been with them for four months and I like it best that they cover a little bit better than some of the other ones do. There are less loopholes and less things that they don't cover than my other warranty company. But they could improve in their website. It's a little bit clunky and not very user-friendly when you have to manage your account or put in the service request. The claims process wasn’t very intuitive as well as the login process. The contractor seemed like they're newer and less experienced. But at the end of the day, they fixed the problem. So, I was happy about that.

We’ve had Old Republic since we moved here, which is 2015, and it didn't cover as much as I thought it would. The first people who came out did not fix the icemaker and Old Republic had to bring somebody else out to fix it. It’s working okay now. The techs were good but the fee was a little more than I thought it should be. It's awfully hard to get ahold of Old Republic through the telephone number. You wind up talking to a machine.

People should get a home warranty insurance if they don't have it. I like Old Republic’s pricing. It's only $100 to have somebody to come out. They have a way to make payments online but if you can’t, the providers have electronic payments as well so they are able to take payments when they come out to your house. I called Old Republic’s number when I made my first claim. You just press a bunch of options till you get the option that best suits you. It was easy because I'm tech savvy. The last guy who came out for my heater was very nice. The only thing I didn't like was I had to call him to make an appointment. I wish you can pick your time slot online and do it like that.

I've been a customer of Old Republic Home Protection for less than a year, and my experience with their service has been frustrating. However, the lack of initial response and inability to speak directly with a representative were significant negatives. I recently had an issue with my water heater that started leaking, so I contacted Old Republic Home Protection. They responded very quickly and sent out a technician. The tech was very nice and explained that he needed to get approval to replace the unit. A few days later, he returned and replaced the water heater, and everything is working fine now.
The claim process was surprisingly easy. Although I didn't have my home warranty information at hand, I simply Googled their phone number, called them, and they handled everything efficiently. I’m quite satisfied with how smoothly everything was managed.

Don't expect fair treatment. First time they outright lied to me about a water heater being under warranty and they knew was not. They told me that it would be three weeks to get a response from the manufacturer. I called the manufacturer and gave them the serial number and they instantly told me it was out of warranty by 4.5 year. My fridge has been down since Thanksgiving and it's now Valentine's day and it is still not fixed. The first vendor said it was a control board and replaced that. It broke down again in a few day. They sent the same vendor out who said it was the compressor that needed to be replaced but he could not do that type of repair. They send out a second vendor who says the compressor needs to be replaced.
A month later they replace the compressor. Same thing, a few hours later the fridge does not work. ORHP says they need to verify that it nots working again. They send the same vendor out of the third time. He replaces the thermistor, same result. The fridge does not work. At this point, I am 4 repair attempts by two vendors and 85 days with no kitchen fridge. Who can live and function without a fridge for three months. They are going to send out the same vendor again. We keep doing to same thing over and over and expecting a different result. I called ORHP today and wanted to talk to a supervisor, after bring on hold for 52 minutes I was told a supervisor would call me back. I'm still waiting.

I first learned about Old Republic Home Protection through my realtor, who set up the warranty as part of my home purchase. Recently, I had a claim related to an appliance. I first heard about Old Republic from a family member. I was looking for a home warranty company different from the one I previously used. I considered about three companies, including my previous one, before selecting Old Republic mainly for their reasonable prices. Submitting a claim wasn't difficult, but I struggled a bit with their website, especially when trying to check on my claim, which made it challenging. However, I eventually figured it out by referring to an initial sign-up email. Also, there was a notable delay after the contractor was assigned. It took approximately a month and a week from the start of the claim to the replacement of my appliance. After contacting the company due to the delay, things got resolved within a week, though initially, they claimed to be waiting for additional information. Once I followed up, the appliance was quickly ordered. The contractors did a good job; they were responsive and managed to install the appliance the same day it was delivered. Since then, everything has been working well.

I recently had the opportunity to share my experience with Old Republic Home Protection, and overall, I am quite satisfied.
Most of my interactions with them have been over the phone, and their customer service reps are excellent.
The only downside is the long wait times; sometimes I find myself waiting up to an hour to speak with someone. However, once I get through, the experience is great.
Regarding claims, there was a plumbing issue recently, and it was handled efficiently.
The one area where I see room for improvement is pricing. I was surprised to see that the cost went significantly higher, from around $1100 to almost $1800, despite not having many claims on my property up north in Prescott. This increase felt steep considering the lack of frequent claims.

My realtor purchased an Old Republic home warranty for me upon buying my first house. Since then, I've been using the service, starting from November. Generally, I submit claims online, and while the site is good, I think there's room for improvement. The options provided often don't match the issues I face, and it would be helpful to have an "other" option where details can be typed.
My experience with a specific claim involved a toilet that caused the entire house to rattle with a high-pitched noise whenever it flushed. While repairs were done promptly, and the service was efficient, my hectic schedule made it hard to remember every detail the technician relayed at the time.
Though generally satisfied, there was an instance, while dealing with my kitchen pipes, where I wasn't informed clearly about what wasn't covered until afterward. Understanding what is and isn't covered upfront would significantly enhance the service experience. Despite this, I've found Old Republic’s response time impressive, as they typically send someone out on the same day a claim is made. However, I feel more clarity around the insurance plans offered would benefit customers, especially if a minimal plan is initially provided by a third party, such as a realtor.
For anyone considering a home warranty, I'd recommend having one, especially since not all issues get caught during a home inspection. Having Old Republic was crucial for me, given the number of times I've needed it due to issues with my house.
Overall, based on Old Republic’s efficiency and the importance of having a home warranty, I'd rate them a 4. They have been great to deal with. If there's a better understanding of coverage and plan options, this could easily make the service top-notch.

I've had series of claims I made over the past couple of months with Old Republic, five in total. The experience with most of them, including a claim for my refrigerator freezer, was positive. The service team visited promptly and inspected the freezer, which was not cooling properly. After thorough inspection and cleaning of its components, they concluded it was still operational but simply old. They informed me it needed to be fully non-functional before they could replace it, which was slightly inconvenient as I anticipated a failure soon due to its age.
While the overall quality of service was generally satisfactory, there was a frustrating instance involving a plumber. It took him four attempts to fix something that only required about 20 minutes. Despite his kind demeanor, it felt as though he wasn't fully engaged during the repairs.
On a positive note, Old Republic's website makes claiming an issue straightforward, enhancing the overall ease of their service. Despite minor setbacks, my overall experience remains favorable, and I would recommend their services.

I'm satisfied with Old Republic. The technician they sent out was fantastic. In the summer time, he came out for my air conditioning and fixed it. On the latest visit, he came out for my heater. My thermostat wasn't good. He made an adjustment on the thermostat and told me it was all messed up. I needed a new thermostat. I'm working on getting $110 for the service fee, and as soon as I save up to $110, I'm gonna have them come out and put in a replacement thermostat that's not goofed up.

My experience with Old Republic Home Warranty has been excellent. I heard about them from a realtor who sold us our house, and I've been using their services for two years now. Whenever I've needed to submit a claim, the process has been smooth and easy. I just call their 800 number, and they send someone out to check the issue. I prefer calling rather than using their online system, and I've had no problem reaching a real person to assist me.
The quality of the contractors provided by Old Republic has been nothing short of great. I recently had an air conditioning issue, and the contractor they sent did a wonderful job. They replaced a fan motor and added freon, and now the air conditioning works wonderfully. I would definitely rate Old Republic a 5 for their excellence.
