    I have to say that my transition to Brinks, after they acquired my account, was not good. They tried to charge me for a visit when my equipment was no longer working, so I canceled. I won’t be returning for substandard service on a product I can get elsewhere.

    Non existence when you don't need them, waiting for the day I do need them, then we'll see. They send out promos as a big deal, 3.00 a month, based on what you're paying ain't sh*t.

    Absolutely horrible service. I've been calling for a month to notify my cameras are not working and they keep giving me the runaround. They've sent me to two authorized service dealers to come fix the problem, and neither has time to come in. They keep rescheduling. I will be changing my service to a different company.

    Go with anyone else besides Brinks. My MIL is 94 years old and is now paying for a service when none of her equipment works and there is not a technician in her area. They will not let her out of her contract although they cannot service the area. They wanted her to climb on a ladder and service her equipment. We leave hours away and have to work on it every time we are the there. If she had the money to pay for two services, we would go with a different company. We are praying her house doesn't catch fire or get robbed before the contract is up.

    Horrible service. I was put on hold for over 10 minutes. My alarm went off, I had to wait for that amount of time is totally unacceptable. Therefore, I would like to put my system down. Why should I pay for service and can't get an answer to.

    My home security hasn't worked for a month now and Brinks won't send anyone out to fix it until 27May26. That's nearly two months without any security on my home which I'm still paying for, very bad service, attorney pending

    I have Brinks and if I could cancel, which I can’t, they basically told me I have no choice but to pay them $200+ to come out and fix the problems that weren’t taken care of 6 years earlier when no one came to fix an issue (had an appointment). Stay away from brinks, do not use them. Horrible customer service and only care about money and not doing what’s right for the customer!

    Contacted Brinks, my home security vendor, with an inquiry concerning monthly billing. After speaking with the virtual Veronica, I had a very short wait (3 min) before I could speak to Ty, a very courteous customer service member, who immediately clarified my billing issue, detailing extra charge and taxes PLUS she also answered a question concerning expired batteries left on home site after upgrade. SHe was quick, courteous, patient and professional. Nice to speak to a real person to get real answers and no robot runaround.

    The equipment worked well to begin with. To be fair we used it for around 6 years. Then it started getting glitchy, sending out alerts for no reason, etc. But the main issue was the price. It was MUCH higher than other options with the same features.

    I’ve had a very disappointing experience with Brinks Home Security. The company has consistently failed to properly repair or maintain its equipment. I was also charged additional fees for extra camera frames, which felt unreasonable given the ongoing issues with performance. The front door camera, in particular, failed multiple times and ultimately had to be removed due to lack of reliability. Despite these repeated problems, the level of service and support did not meet expectations. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this company. I will not be renewing my contract.

    Had a helpful young lady who updated our autopay after my credit card renewed and had a different expiration date and CCV number. Asked for new yard signs and decals and was told we have to pay for them now. I’ve been with Brinks for over 30 years and this was off-putting.

    DON'T DO IT!! We had a contract with Brinks for 1 year and decided to switch companies when the year was up. We had all of the Brinks material removed and kept receiving a bill, apparently the contract was changed to say we wanted 60 months of service. They continued to bill us without any of their security material and would not send the original contract to prove the dates agreed. We continued to pay Brinks for 2 years before we had the money to pay them out fully. I will never work with Brinks again. Ever!!

    As a 17 yr customer I really never had to call for support from Brinks. The day I did I spent over 1.5 hours on the phone with tech troubleshooting the issue which ended being told my sensor was faulty and I needed to replace it. So I ordered a new sensor, it took a week to receive it while I couldn't use the system. When I replaced the sensor I again was on the phone over 1.5 hrs and was told my panel was not working properly. So I had to schedule for a tech to come out. When I got to the person on the phone to schedule a tech, I was told it would take another 17 days for the first available appointment.

    I asked if I was going to be billed for the 27 days I have been without a system. The person on the phone yes, and continue to tell me only after the tech appointment will determine if I get a prorated bill due to the tech to determine if it was user error that caused the probelm. I was also told my system was not working properly because I did not test the system once a month. At this piont I was done with the 17 yr relationship and canceled my monitoring with Brinks. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE.

    Since others come to your website and my wife and I did have a good experience with the technician that helped us install our new monitor keypad let it be known everything worked out great. I forgot the guy's name but on the Jackson scale 1 to 1010 being the best he was at a 12 so yes thank you for sending someone that had good communication skills over the phone.

    Eager sales guy making lots of promises. Locked into a forever contract and when service is needed no one can help--they want you to use a bot or online instructions which suck. As soon as contract expires we are cancelling and going with a local company with real people in the US.

    Hate this company.... You can never get free from them.... We have tried and tried and to keep the cost down, they just keep adding months to your contract to do that!! We are elderly and can't afford it. We will just stop paying and they can do whatever they want!!

Only solution they offered was a new contract and still charge for installation and new equipment. So I cancelled and paid the remaining months in contract. Last time I use Brinks.

    I talked to Kevlyn yesterday and because I forgot I wanted to have additional info ready, I called back and then spoke to Jacqueline. Both representatives were exceptional! They were very kind, patient, and as I told Kevlyn…knows his stuff!! Jacqueline shared additional info on how the gate to my small community is connected when my alarm goes off.     My experience with Brinks was a nightmare. Every year I would get my city permit and never was it recorded to the police department. Someone tried to enter my home and no police officers arrived. For two years with Brinks I was never covered. I paid them for noise. Half the monitors didn’t work and I got very little assistance. Somewhere someone dropped the ball. I would not recommend them to anyone. They continue to hound me and I paid off my contract. I don’t want anything to do with this company. Leave me alone.

    I’ve had brakes for several years now. Looks mostly OK, but last month our main panel went out. Replacing this cost us over $500 in parts and labor. This was despite them telling us we would only have to pay for a service call fee of $75. We were charged twice for our Tech to come out, as he didn’t have the right parts the first time. He also wasn’t able to get everything connected right and I had to finish the job for him. When I receive the bill for services, I complained about being overcharged, they told me they would take part of the charges off, yet after three calls, they have not done so. As soon as my contract is up, I will be moving to another provider.

    The technician who came to service my system was very knowledgeable and ended up having to replace the security panel. He did it very professionally and walked me through the process of using the new panel. He also was able to set up my new fob and showed me how to be able to access my system through my phone.

    This company will do whatever they can to rip you off. They will extend your contract without your knowledge. Refuse to monitor your alarm even when paying them to do so unless you pay ridiculous fees for them to come to your house and install their equipment and then secretly extend your contract. They will then not do anything to help you with that contract issue.

    I have used Brinks for quite a few years now. I find their customer service to be excellent. The devices work as they should. Having Brinks gives me a sense of security. I live in a fairly safe neighborhood but you never know what will happen. I have my doors and windows alarmed so I know when someone is trying to come in, without me inviting them. I choose Brinks because of their long background in security. Would I change from Brinks to use a different home security company if that company was cheaper? I can truthfully say, I have no reason to change.

    Not user friendly!!! There are no people who do service on this system. If you have a problem, you have to call on the phone and the customer service team talk you through the process of fixing the problem. I am not happy with this company, but if you are a person who is technical, you may like it. Also, the person who sold me the system is a liar!!! They sold me the different pieces and parts I needed, but when I wanted to cancel the service, Brinks said I still owed for the duration of my contract for unpaid equipment. I explained that I purchased the equipment directly through this individual, and they said it was not a "complete" purchase. WTF???? Will never use Brinks again. At least ADT does have service personnel that will come out to your house if needed.

    I had Cox for my cameras and they stopped doing the cameras and sent us all to Brinks in May this yr 2026. Lucky for me I didn't need to look at the cameras at my establishment till mid Sept. When I did need to view an incident I wasn't able to. So I called brinks and they said I needed new equipment and was told it would be an extra $10 a month. So feeling like I had no choice in the matter I agreed. They gave me a date to meet for the new equipment and the day they were suppose to show they texted me saying bla bla bla I needed to reschedule. So I did and the same thing happened. bla bla bla I needed to reschedule. So I did and the same thing happened again. Next time I called I got a little heated and finally got some truth from them. they said because of storms in some part of the world they can't get the equipment. So I just waited.

    Finally in Nov they showed up with the equipment. Now the cameras weren't motion activated like before with Cox. Brinks says I need to spend around 2k for new cameras to get motion activated. So disappointed with them. I miss Cox! Brinks wasn't ready to take this on. I guess since they took over customers from Cox we are stuck with a 3 yr contract with brinks. I would have no problem with them if they got their shit together but to buy new cameras is ridiculous. Everything about them sucks. Stay away from them.

    I had Brinks' service for about 2 years. Until 2 months ago I had no problem with the service, I had to change my due date because my bank card was compromised. My account wasn’t late. But for the month of March, Brinks charged my account 3 times. They refunded one payment and then took the money back. They have charged my account 3 times and caused my bank account to go in overdraft. They are giving me a hard time and can’t explain what is going on. Very disappointed with the service.

    I used AT&T Digital Life Security System for years, until they stopped doing home security and transferred all their customers to Brinks Home Security. Brinks did not replace any of my old equipment, only the key pad by the door. The cameras were not changed out even though they went offline more than they worked. Every time I called to get the cameras back online, it was 1 to 2 hours on the phone or needed a tech to come out during my work hours. Who wants to constantly utilize PTO to fix old equipment temporarily?? The cameras might work 3 days a month if I was fortunate enough. In the summer my neighbor had a theft and my camera was offline. In September I had 2 mowers stolen from my carport, and of course the camera was offline! In October of 2025, I called to cancel my service after the theft at my home.

    In December, I got a VM that I owed in excess of $300! I didn’t even have access to the Brinks app any longer. I called and was told that they had never completed my request to cancel. Oddly enough they closed my app though. The extortion for money that I do not owe continues into March of 2026. I have never written a negative company review, but I feel like I should warn others. If the home had been broken into or someone attacked/murdered, it would not have been recorded as my cameras rarely functioned.

    I am truly disgusted with the unprofessional conduct and threats to send me to collections over a bill that I should have never incurred. Maybe I should try to sue for Brinks’ breach of contract to provide me with working equipment?!?! If any attorneys read this and would like to start a class action lawsuit, I’m sure that I am not the only person to have had things stolen when cameras were not functioning. Brink’s Home do better, people are entrusting you with their family’s life and safety. Stop cheating and over charging customers, especially when the customer should be reimbursed for their systems not even functioning adequately!!

    Under no circumstances use this company. I originally had this company install a security system at the house in Villa Park. For years it was fine. We paid a monthly service and it worked out just great. Since we moved into the new house, I had the service continued at our new house and originally set up an appointment to install security cameras and a security system. They showed up three separate times without the equipment that they originally quoted me would be about $1000 for installation and equipment cost.

    After trying to schedule for the fourth time, they still did not have the equipment. I was charged $2600. When I went to dispute the cost, they told me it was all valid. The reason they had to keep coming back is because I was adding equipment. Customer service is absolutely horrible! And they refused to drop the charges. I tried several times to get somebody in management to help me out with the situation. Stay away from this company!

    This company is just terrible. They give you a monthly price, then add a bunch of fees on the back end. Their system doesn't work half the time, and false alarms are a big problem with their equipment. If I could give zero stars, that would still be too many stars.     We have had Brinks for years, My father in law passed away and we needed to keep the house safe so we tried to pay his account. We were grieving and were told we had to switch it to our name, okay. So we switched it, they had us sign a ridiculously long contract at least 36 months for no upgrades or changes. Then about a year later when we realized that the equipment was trash and about 4 or 5 years outdated and rarely worked we felt it wasn't worth the 60 bucks a month. So we called and tried to cancel for bad service and high cost. They said, "We can't let you out of your contract but we can lower the price." I was like cool. No. Extremely not cool. They extended the extortionary contract even further. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY unless you want to be tied to them for eternity or you have boxes of extra money you just want to give away for awful service.

    I’m very upset with our experience with Brinks. A guy walking the neighborhood representing Brinks sold us on how they were a better company than ADT and how we could get everything that we had and more for a better price! We had exterior cameras without lights initially installed and I thought it would be a good idea to switch since he said he would help us get out of our contract and get better security features. Well we did not get what we were promised. The Brinks system was not switched out for like of like. We got less!

    One carbon monoxide was not included in our contract and the smart switches that were provided were not compatible with my smart home features. The doorbell camera has NEVER worked properly for more than a couple days. System is 5 months old and already failing. None of my exterior camera are connecting to the app. Garage door does not function as well. Customer service wants to charge for technician visits and situation never gets resolved. My HVAC system was unplugged by the tech and rerouted to an old surge protector that tripped all the time. So that visit I paid for did not ‘FIX’ my issues and caused my HVAC to stop working in winter. I had to call my other home warranty provider to tell me what caused the issue.

    After calling Customer service and demanding the contract that was signed and never provided I found out that my 82 year old dad who is hard of hearing and mental health declining was conned into signing a 5 year contract. We have no intentions on staying here for 5 years. This is an investment property and he knew our terms. That sales guy saw an old man and took advantage of the situation. I was not around during the contract signing. If so I would have stopped that from happening.

    Now the company is wanting over 3 thousand dollars for us to cancel out contract. The resolve customer service provided on the faulty equipment is to pay more per month $25 for insurance on my new equipment that has been an issue and repeat service visits from tech support. I think that is absolutely ridiculous! I will be telling everybody and any platform my experience with this company. I am very unhappy and now I have to do a virtual support call to fix my issues myself. The whole system is giving malfunction codes on all equipment. That has been a constant issue almost every other month and I want to cancel contract since we’re paying for services that does not work not provide security! Serious BUYER BEWARE. THEY TALK A GOOD TALK BUT YOU GET NOTHING IN RETURN!!

    To date, my experience with Brinks at Home Security has been poor at best. Originally, we were with a different provider. My wife received a call from Brinks indicating that our system was outdated and would no longer work, stating that we must switch over immediately. We have a gas range, so this seemed correct. Turns out, they lied. We didn't need to update our equipment, nor did they even provide us with new equipment. They installed a panel and coerced my wife into signing a multiyear contract. Now, by law, we cannot get out of the contact. Very frustrating, customer service is of no help.

    On February 23, 2025 I called Brinks Home Security and wanted to cancel my service after being with them for 9 years. I was told I had 41 months to go on my contract. I would have to pay the reminder bill of my contract. I asked for a signed contract. Three days later I get an email which didn’t have the information requested. Called back again was told it’s their policy. I guess I was with this company six years too long.

    When Brinks took over, the customer service department tanked! After complaining about the service, I finally called to cancel. Was told that I qualified for a ring camera, a week later I was told they were sold out so I asked to have my equipment picked up, a year later and I'm still being billed!

    Do not get Brinks. I got brinks. My camera downstairs worked a good week. I have spoken to numerous techs and nothing. Camera still does not work. Today a technician told me I will have to pay $200 for a tech to come out and look at it. Once they install they really don't care!

    Outdoor surveillance cameras do not function properly. Cameras are not 100% reliable and I am locked in a contract that doesn’t meet the standards. Company is unable to resolve, they only suggest that I upgrade and pay more for better coverage, which is a ripoff due to cameras are faulty during the 1st starting point of a full cycle, pointless to have to pay more for an upgrade. Home visit troubleshooting cost $ and no immediate appointments, waiting periods average 2 month wait for a tech home visit. Locked into a contract with deceiving, mediocre service. Buyer beware!

    The Brinks sales rep tricked our elderly mother into signing up for their service. They said they would cancel her other service which there is no way they can do. Customer service won't cancel her service without her coming to the phone. That is not a possibility. No other way to cancel.

    Don’t choose Brinks Home Security. We had Brinks, they never once called when our alarm went off. And I spoke with other Brinks customers who said the same thing. Then I called in February 2025 to cancel my service they kept right on charging me even though they have recorded of my verbal cancellation. Then when I called for a refund they would not honor it. Please be smart and choose a much better home security system, don’t make the same mistake we made. There are way better and more efficient systems out there with much better customer service people.

    My customer service experience was top-notch. She helped me with my issue and did it all with patience and great customer service. She was a joy to work with. In today's world, it's hard to find a person to take the time to help you understand what you have done wrong, but the young lady who helped me was so delightful to work with. As a senior citizen, she really made me feel at ease with my lack of computer skills. She made sure I understood each step as she walked me through with all the details.     Hello. Do NOT use Brinks. This is the worst company. They use another company, Skyline, to do the contract, so not even Brinks. We canceled once we found this out. They sent a technician out to remove the panel and camera doorbell, and left us without installing the alarm that was there before. They installed new hardware and left me with just live wires exposed? Horrible experience!! Never ever ever.

    Terrible customer service. Cancellation is a horrible, outdated, and extremely unfriendly process. If I could give a negative one-star review, I would. First, you can’t cancel online — you have to call. Then you talk to someone to pay your bill. Then you’re forced to speak to a manager. Then they email you a document that you have to sign and send it back. And maybe — if it’s approved — your service will be canceled within 30 days, while you continue to be charged. This is a predatory business practice. I’m lucky I’m still young and informed enough not to be taken advantage of, but I can easily see how elderly customers could be scammed or trapped by this intentionally difficult process. It’s 2026. There is no excuse for making cancellation this hard. Terrible. Terrible. Terrible.

    ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Brinks Home Security – Highly Recommend! I have been with Brinks since 1999, and once again they proved why I’ve stayed loyal for so many years. My bill had gotten too high, so I reached out to them, and they were incredibly helpful. They worked with me to lower my monthly cost and upgrade my alarm system at the same time. The customer service was friendly, professional, and truly cared about keeping me as a customer. I’m very happy with the outcome and feel confident and secure in my home.     We were a Brinks customer at our previous house. We moved and I called Brinks to cancel the service and explained I was going to switch to a local firm. The CSR lady asked me if I would consider staying with Brinks, if they granted a discounted monthly fee of $39.99?. Of course I said yes. Then she transferred me to another CSR guy who took my order information. Later I received an email advising me our monthly fee was $60.

    I called Brinks CSR again and explained to another lady that I thought their procedures were dishonest. She apologized and said she would help me with a discounted price. She put me on hold. She finally came back on the phone and said she was sorry, but she couldn’t get the $39.99 approved, but she could get $52.49 (I think) approved if I would agree to extend our contract 4 additional months. I told her that was better than nothing. I have no complaints about Brinks service, but their promotional business practices are deceptive.

    Our company is extremely disappointed and frustrated with our experience transitioning from Cox Security Cameras to Brinks. From the moment the switch was completed, our security cameras never functioned. Despite multiple technician visits, Brinks was unable to get the system operational at any point. Even more frustrating, we continued to be billed for the cameras simply because they were still physically in our building, even though the service was never working. We were clearly told we would receive full credit for the months the service was not provided, yet those credits were never applied.

    After five months of paying for a nonfunctional system, we requested cancellation. When Brinks sent a technician to retrieve the cameras, we were told he would not climb a ladder to remove them because they were going to be discarded anyway. We later had the cameras removed during installation by our new provider and informed Brinks that the equipment was boxed and ready. Brinks then told us the cameras did not need to be returned, which raises serious concerns about why we were charged for equipment that never worked and was never needed back.

    This entire situation reflects poor communication, poor service, and a lack of accountability. A refund of $496.88 would have resolved this issue and prevented this review. Instead, we feel compelled to share our experience as a warning to other companies considering Brinks. We strongly advise doing thorough research before entering into any agreement with them.

    Do not use Brinks. My husband died in March. I had to move to an apartment in October. The current owner of my house did not want to use Brinks Security. I called multiple times and sent letters to get the account closed. When my husband died - all I wanted was for Brinks to take his name off the account. They refused, saying their system only allowed one name as primary. All they could do was cancel his account and I would have to apply for an account under my name. They confirmed I had full access to my husband's account, but he was primary. I was trying to do everything right, but there were so many different things to take care of. I wanted a security system because I was now living along. Then a few months later, I realized I needed to sell my house and move. I did and tried to get Brinks to Cancel my account because the new owners said they would never use Brinks. Hopefully, Brinks is not spying on the new owners.

    I have had no access to the system or the house for months. Brinks continues to harass me about paying my bill for two years even though they are not supplying a service anymore. They continue to transfer me to different departments to resolve the issues and have me send letters (they say were never received). Brinks is awful! They are just bullies and will probably ruin my credit.

    I have been forced to stay with Brinks due to their cancellation charges. Today just like other contacts when my alarm has tripped a problem, they send a text which is not received and then assume they have completed their security obligation. They NEVER bother to follow thru to address the alarm. To think I gave up ADT for No security and higher monthly charges!! Have no receipt as payment is auto pay.

    BUYER BEWARE!! I would give negative stars if I could. This company is fraudulent and practices illegal procedures. Basically thieves. I spoke to a rep named Len and had my installation fee waived as a promotion the company was offering. He explained that Brinks service would provide a live person contacting me if an alarm was triggered and claimed a live person would talk through the keypad to me and my family. Sounds great! Right? All a complete HOAX!!! No one has ever called me when the alarm went off or spoke through the keypad to us in the house. Additionally, I just received a $725.00 installation bill and have been told I took out a loan for over $1000.00 to rent their equipment??!! I’ve called Len several times and left messages all of which went unanswered.

    I called Brinks by googling their number because it’s not on their app and spent an hour talking to two people who couldn’t answer my questions. I asked for a supervisor and requested her to show my signature authorizing any of these charges to be put on hold again. She came back, verified my email and said I’ll receive my contract within 48 hours. How very unprofessional! I should have stuck with ADT. I’m reporting them to the Better Business Bureau and taking them to small claims court going forward to help other innocent homeowners from being exploited.

    I strongly advise anyone considering Brink’s Home Security to look elsewhere. Our experience has been consistently frustrating, unprofessional, and, quite frankly, unacceptable—especially given the cost and the long-term contractual obligations they push on customers. We moved into a rental home that already had a Brink’s system installed. In order for us to gain access to the existing cameras, Brink’s insisted that we take over the owner’s contract. From the start, every interaction with customer service made it clear that representatives are confined to rigid scripts and cannot deviate to actually help customers. There is no true problem-solving, no critical thinking, and absolutely no personalized support.

    We experienced issues with the doorbell at the rental, and when we later moved to our own home, Brink’s required us to purchase additional cameras, doorbells, and thermostats. This winter, we discovered just how unreliable their equipment truly is. Our heat stopped working, so we called a licensed HVAC technician who confirmed that the upstairs thermostat was failing to send signals to the unit. We had no choice but to install a different thermostat immediately because it was freezing outside. Two days later, the downstairs thermostat failed in the exact same way.

    When I contacted Brink’s to request replacement thermostats or a refund, they refused both. Instead, they informed me that I must schedule a virtual service call with one of their technicians so they can determine whether the thermostats are “malfunctioning.” This requirement was imposed despite the fact that a certified HVAC professional had already verified the issue. Expecting families to wait for a virtual appointment in the middle of winter—with no heat—just to appease Brink’s internal process is unacceptable and unsafe.

    There are numerous home security and smart home options on the market that offer far better service, higher-quality products, and—importantly—no predatory contracts. Do not fall for Brink’s sales tactics. Their customer service is unhelpful, their equipment unreliable, and their processes inflexible to the point of being harmful. I cannot recommend Brink’s Home Security under any circumstance.

    Updated on 12/15/2025: I had the “pleasure” of speaking with Brinks for the last time today—after paying $250 just to get out of a contract they weren’t even honoring by properly monitoring our system. I also spoke with the infamous “Paul H.” who, unsurprisingly, wouldn’t provide his real name. Here’s the backstory on this TERRIBLE company: after being a customer since 2018, they convinced me to sign a new 12-month contract last week, guaranteeing that two malfunctioning fire alarms would be replaced. Not only did they fail to fix anything, they charged us $75 for absolutely nothing. I’ve called an absurd number of times trying to get this resolved, and finally reached my limit and cancelled everything.

    To make matters worse, our home experienced a gas leak in 2022—and Brinks did NOTHING. No alert, no monitoring response, nothing. We were the ones who had to call the fire department. That’s when it became clear our home was never being protected the way we were paying for. So in the interest of protecting my family, I paid the $250 to escape a completely bogus contract. I have never dealt with a company so careless, unprofessional, and indifferent to customer safety. An absolute joke of a security provider.

    Original Review: I am absolutely shocked by the level of incompetence, dishonesty, and refusal to take responsibility that we experienced with Brinks. We had a service call today for chirping fire alarms that were originally installed when our home was built. Not only did the technician NOT fix the issue—he made our home less safe than before. Instead of replacing the malfunctioning fire alarms, the tech installed brand-new units right next to the chirping ones, leaving the originals still beeping. He then removed our carbon monoxide monitor, claimed it was malfunctioning, and left it disabled on our table—along with holes in our wall where it was mounted.

    To make matters worse, he told us we were NOT under a Brinks monthly contract and then charged us a $75 service fee before leaving. When we called Brinks immediately to dispute the charge and report that nothing was fixed—and that the tech actually reduced our home’s safety—they refused to help and insisted we were under contract. Even after we explained that their own technician confirmed with his superior that we were not under contract, they still refused to assist, resolve the issue, or cancel the service.

    So now we’re paying $35/month for absolutely nothing—
    • Fire alarms that still chirp
    • A carbon monoxide monitor that is now disabled and removed

    • No resolution, no repair, and no accountability

    Even worse, this “malfunctioning” carbon monoxide detector had already failed to alert us during a real emergency when my mother-in-law accidentally left the stove gas on. We were gone for six hours, and NOTHING in the home alerted us. That alone should have prompted immediate concern from any reputable security company—but Brinks couldn't care less.

    The representative we spoke with, Jessica Evans, was by far the most unprofessional, rude, and dismissive rep I’ve ever encountered. She claimed she “spoke for their CEO” and that there was no one above her to escalate our concerns to. The arrogance and lack of empathy were unbelievable. Between the false contract claims, the refusal to help, the unresolved safety hazard, and the complete disregard for customer well-being, I genuinely cannot believe this company is allowed to operate. This entire experience feels fraudulent, unsafe, and unethical.

    Do NOT trust Brinks with your home or your family’s safety. We are now left with malfunctioning fire alarms, no carbon monoxide protection, holes in our wall, and monthly payments for a service that provides zero security. Absolutely unacceptable. Brinks is in breach of their own contract. A malfunctioning fire-alarm or carbon-monoxide equipment undermines the core safety purpose of a security contract. Brinks failed to maintain or repair critical safety devices despite requests breaching their contract.

    I have been with them six months. I have not good customer service since I switched. The sales person that sold me on Brinks was fired shortly after he left my home. There was no explaining anything. The installer came took the other company’s electronics down and left it all over the place. He installed the camera for the backyard to the wood fence by the garage. Anyone could reach up and tear it down. I had him move it. Now it hangs off the roof blowing in the wind. The front door camera was bought by the installer in the last minute. evidently they don’t carry this system. My alarm has been out on the front door. I have tried to get help and doesn’t happen. So my front door alarm is useless. I believe I am going to go back to my other company. Never did I receive this no level of care or concern.

    I would not recommend renewing a contract with Brinks when it’s offered at a discounted price. The new offered package ONLY covers a short term period for monitoring but all other costs/options; i.e., warranty of equipment, on-site technician support, battery, etc. are Not included although the salesperson states in conversation that it’s covered.

    Brinks is hands down the worst company I've ever worked with. We use security cameras in our gymnastics gym to ensure the kids and coaches are safe, and they worked perfectly with Cox. As soon as Brinks took over we started having issues. I've now had 3 separate appointments with techs that tell me "I don't know how to fix this", don't have their own equipment (one tech used my personal laptop for over 6 hours during my workday AND didn't have a necessary HDMI cord), and have been without service for close to a month. I've spent more time on the phone with customer service than I can say, and not one person has apologized, been empathetic, or shown any concern. They refuse to prioritize getting us a new appointment, and I've had to wait weeks in between techs coming out. This has become a liability for my business and they refuse to even transfer me so I can speak with a supervisor. Please, please - save yourself the headache!

I am highly disappointed and dissatisfied overall, with customer service, and within the miscommunication of the sales representative that sold me that home security system. My husband and I were under the impression of our sales representative, Brian, giving us a qualified deal for 12 inside and outside cameras for $74.00 (even) per month, including installation of all cameras assured. The installer came and installed two, basic cameras. One door, ring camera, and the other was the home panel, located inside of the home, in the living room.

    I asked the installer, "Where's the rest of the cameras?" He indicated that I would have to call Brian, our sales rep. I have called and texted Brian, unaware that we only had 3 days minimum to take the equipment back and to cancel the contract. I have insisted, telling Brian and his supervisor, Hakeem, that I was not under the impression of the cancellation deadline, as well as not receiving 12 cameras, that was listed on the display.

    Now, I am consistent in emailing and contacting multiple Brinks representatives, however, the main representative that I sent those screenshots to be also named, ** (email) Ricky **. I have emailed Mr. ** multiple of times, however, I did not receive any more contact or communication from Mr. ** pertaining to cancellation of contract. I have sent documentation.

    I would rate this company as 0 if given the opportunity. I contacted them on multiple occasions to cancel my nonworking service. My equipment was outdated and it hadn't been working for 2 months before I totally canceled the service. That was 9 months ago. Imagine my surprise when I audited my bank account to discover that service continued to be billed and paid. When I discovered this discrepancy I called customer support and demanded to speak to a manager. The manager verified my previous contacts but stated that I continued to be billed because I hadn't completed an online cancelation form. No one mentioned this on the other calls, they simply stated that my service was discontinued and my bill was clear. Hmmm sounds like a scam to me. I completed the form that he sent me and I am waiting on a response.

    Horrible! I had them for 3 years. I decided to cancel because they were double charging my account so I opted to cancel. Since they took the last 2 payments out at the same time they said I didn't owe anything. They gave me the directions to cancel. Sent me the cancelation contract in the email. I completed that. I called to verify I took care of everything to cancel after they tried to talk me into signing up again at a discount. Now 2 years later I get something from collections saying I owe 134 dollars. Brinks NEVER once contacted me in 2 years after saying I don't owe anything. Don't waste your time. Anyone is better than this dishonest security company. I have had a local company since 2023 and I have no complaints. They show up when needed, are less expensive, and don't charge extra. Brinks is a big company and they don't care about screwing people over!

    I called yesterday to request an extension of my contract under the current terms. After verification by the virtual assistant, I was connected to Alex. I told her I was receiving email messages requesting that I extend my contract. She understood and explained why I was receiving the messages. She reviewed my account and immediately started to work on my request. She explained exactly what she was doing and confirmed that I understood. Alex was very amiable and congenial. She had a positive attitude. She explained that I would receive an email message confirming the change and a letter in the U.S. mail also. Thank you so much to Alex.

    Worst customer service ever. Took money out of my account because they sent a security guard to my house, which I never requested, over a fire out cover alarming them to movement in my backyard. Yet when my car was broken into in my driveway, they did nothing. Wish I could break the contract.

    I have been a customer before they became Brinks. I called a few months ago about the panel beeping all night. Some troubleshooting was done (funny how they want you to do the work). No tech was ever sent out!!!! So about 2 weeks ago I put in an order for a new panel and some cameras. The tech comes out on Friday, installs everything. Not 24 hours later the panel is completely dead and I’m told no one will be out to look at it for almost 2 weeks!!! I'm sure they will continue to bill me though.

    I've had Brinks for 5yrs. The cameras worked ok but the motion detection was garbage. Either 6 million false alarms or 0. No in between. Then our monitoring went up $20 a month so I called to cancel and they would not cancel without me telling them who I went with, when they came out, the type of system etc. When I told them I had another call in a few moments the lady told me she advised I call back later to finish then.

    I bought a home that had a Brinks security system (nonactive) and after a power outage the system began beeping (irritated the dog). I recognized that it must be because of a depleted battery, so I called Brinks as I was not familiar with their system. Got in touch with a person that was suppose to be a tech and the tech stated that because he did know what system was installed he could not help me. I would have became a Brinks customer but after that comment by their tech, who would be stupid enough to be a customer with a company that hires incompetent tech?! BTW, I pulled the primary and secondary face plates, disconnected the battery and power leads.

    Our system is about 7 years old. Has never worked correctly. Most of the time not connected. They claim WE renewed contract. WE DID NOT! We asked for assistance with the batteries. They said buy them yourself and change them. My mom is 86.. It's EXTRA for that service. System constantly beeps loud when batteries are low. It's always something. Not working now. They don't care. They just want your payment.

    I could not be more pleased with Anita. We had received a replacement front door lock from Kwikset and I hired a handyman to install it (I am disabled). I spoke with 2 techs and a supervisor first. The supervisor was useless: Said she only handled "complaints" but apparently my "complaint" didn't qualify. She was going to foist me off on a virtual assistant. I spent a 50 year career in high tech and know how useless virtual assistants are in nuanced situations like this.

    Anita, on the other hand, stayed with us (me and my handyman) for 90 minutes, through a series of trial and errors, old problems, new problems (the keypad "brains" started an annoying nonstop buzzing for 5-7 minutes which never happened before). Anita had never encountered that issue before. Apparently, this ordinary Kwikset Home 620 Kwikset sent me as a replacement may not have been on your approved list. Anita diligence, persistence and patience were unparalleled. It is rare in customer service these days to witness this: Brinks, Anita should be training your other customer service reps I had spoken with previously. We are so thankful for her. Brinks CEO: Take note!

    The customer services reps were wonderful. Patient & helpful. It’s unfortunate I have to interact with them as often as I have since our install in 2022. Our installer, an independent authorized dealer, was great and was always willing to help out when we had an issue. But unfortunately he has moved. Now we rely on telephone customer service, who have been great, but they can’t always resolve some issues over the phone.

    I had a very disappointing experience with Brinks Home Security. The technician who came to install the system and cameras did a rushed and careless job. Wires were left exposed and hanging, and one of the cameras was only secured with a single screw, making it unsafe. There were also multiple new screws left in various places where products had been poorly installed. Shockingly, the technician even took a camera that belonged to a different company without permission.

    The system was installed on a Monday and had already stopped working by Tuesday evening, displaying a "low battery" warning. When I called Brinks for support, instead of taking responsibility, they blamed my home's electricity and wiring—even though everything had been working fine before their installation. The customer service was unhelpful, argumentative, and unwilling to provide any meaningful resolution. Rather than taking accountability, they debated with me and offered no solutions. I would not recommend Brinks to anyone looking for reliable home security. Between the substandard installation, poor customer service, and complete lack of accountability, this experience has been frustrating and unacceptable. Save yourself the stress—look elsewhere for a company that stands behind its work.

    They raised our rates even though we had a three year agreement at a specific price. Then would not let me out of the agreement without penalty prior to 3 years! We had a service call and they never fixed the problem! We had to bypass zones to avoid having the system alarm in the middle of the night. I talked to a supervisor and she said so sorry. Nothing they can do about it!

    We frequently have issues with the alarms at our buildings going off randomly without cause and when we reach out for help it's difficult to actually get a solution that works. The things we try aren't permanent fixes and it's become quite the hassle. The person I talked to in customer support regarding our contract however, did a great job informing me of things. It's just the technical support side that is frustrating.

    Disabled Veteran’s Shocking Experience with Brinks Home Security. I’ve lived in my home for over 20 years and have had multiple alarm systems. Never once did I face the nightmare I endured with Brinks Home Security. Here’s what happened:

    In late 2024, my Brinks head unit malfunctioned — so badly that it physically injured me. As a disabled veteran, my home needs to be safe and reliable, not a hazard. Brinks sent a tech, who “fixed” it by putting a screw in the door. That not only failed but caused me to be injured again. When I complained, Brinks told me the only way they’d fix their own faulty equipment was if I extended my contract. I refused and asked to cancel my service.

    In January 2025, I switched to SSD Alarm, thinking I was done with Brinks. But I was wrong. By August 2025, I started receiving delinquent calls for a service I no longer had. Soon after, I noticed negative marks on my credit report. When I called, Brinks demanded I sign a termination contract. I did, but the e-signed document they returned had my name misspelled and the date falsified, making it look like I canceled in September 2025 — nearly 10 months after I actually did. The impact on me:

    Financial stress from unjust credit damage.
    Physical injury from their faulty equipment.
    Emotional toll of being treated like a delinquent instead of a loyal customer.

    Complete disregard for my status as a disabled veteran, who should have been treated with respect and care.

    Bottom line: Brinks operates with unethical, deceptive, and predatory practices. No customer should have to fight to cancel a service, risk their credit score, or sign misleading contracts just to escape. 👉 If you’re considering Brinks, don’t. There are better companies, like SSD Alarm, that treat people with honesty and respect. I’m sharing this so no one else goes through what I did.

    Although we were not able to resolve my issue. The guy I talked with was very professional and kind. It made the interaction much easier and I believe he did everything he could to help me. I still don't have my yard signs up due to the posts that were sent to me do not join. I believe your company should know the product that being sent out to your customers. The instruction on the web does give instructions for the sign that I was sent.

    I called today due to my control panel being dead and a smoke detector being faulty showing low battery even with a fresh battery. I was extremely pleased to find out that I was actual eligible for an upgrade on my panel along with the smoke detector in question being replaced to be compatible with the new panel along with a reduced rate.     I recently had to replace my alarm panel because the old panel died, the screen went blank. I contacted Brinks and was given a runaround. I was told wait until the battery recharges (the battery will not recharge because the panel is malfunctioning), set up a virtual appointment to solve my problem because there are NO service techs in my area. "You can have someone come out and install a New customers equipment, but there is no one to provide service?" After being given the runaround on day three, I was sent to the customer care department, I was given a new panel which extended my contract for 8 additional months, but NEW sensors were not sent that could pair with the new panel. At this point I have been without the service I pay for over a week. I had to call again to try to get updated sensors sent to me, but it will take 7-10 business days now I am at the two week point of NO service.

    When I call to get updated sensors for the NEW panel I was told there would be a cost because my old sensors are not broken. If the old sensors don't work with the updated equipment why would I have to pay for updated sensors? I went back to Tech support and I finally got someone to listen and understand my dilemma. I was told NEW sensors would be sent out at NO cost. At this point I am hesitant to believe the information I was given. I have received the worst service ever from this company prior to this situation I was a happy Brinks customer. Buyer beware. Brinks loves to extend your contract to lock you in as a customer. I will not extend my contract with Brinks, I can not wait for my contract to end because I plan to leave Brinks and seek service elsewhere. 4 more years will fly by quickly.

    Today I had the opportunity to call Brinks about an issue that I was having with my security system. I recently have had a few false alarms and I wanted someone to come and check out my system. I also mentioned that I would like to possibly upgrade my system since I have had it for a number of years and I wanted to know about newer technologies that the newer systems have. Well all I had to say was a "new system" and the sales pitches began. The representative said everything under the sun to get me to purchase a new system. It was no longer a repair of my current system but everything was buying something new.

    When I indicated I wanted a technician to come to the house to look at my system and the defective codes I was directed to a new repair program for an additional $11.99 a month and a $75.00 technician fee to come to the house. Without the warranty program it cost $250 for a technician to come to my home. When that didn't work, I was told that I could extend my contract for an additional 13 months and only pay $75 technician fee and not the $250. I decided to do nothing

    What type of customer service do you have when you are primarily concerned with selling and getting more money out of your customers? What about customer service with the needs of the customer in mind and not your revenues? I am very unhappy at this point and am not sure I am going to continue my service with your firm. Since I am not under contract I can choose to go elsewhere.

    The representative was fine. The reason for the two star is this, I’m told my contract expires next year but when I ask for the contract to be emailed to me, it does not get sent. They keep telling me they have sent it but I am not receiving anything. I get all other types of emails from Brinks but not this one. I find it odd. So unless I get my a copy of my contract, I will not recommend Brinks to anyone.

    This company has been nothing but a nightmare to deal with. The service doesn’t work half the time and you’re a stuck in a 3 year contract. Will never be a Brinks customer again. Unfortunately, we moved and had to move our system with us. To have the system reinstalled in our new home was an astronomical number and their tech support was no help trying to get installed. I’ve been paying $75/mo the past year and a half and haven’t actually been able to use the service.

    Terrible customer service with the first 2 reps, unable to fix issue. Difficulty understanding, no resolution, very noisy background. Had to call back a third time, new rep, on phone for 50 mins & finally resolved issue with my input. Called other security companies & considering changing companies.

I really did appreciate her kindness even when it was 5 minutes before her shift ended. She even walked me through the Brinks app to get my alarm certificate.     The employees are really respectful, kind and make you feel welcome but the company on a whole and the policies in places is NOT consumer. This is a security system that personally to me is a waste of hard earned money. This is not and I really meant NOT a service you can count on for security.     I needed help getting our cameras back online. Asha was extremely helpful and patient. After an hour, I was able to get the system up and running again.     Horrible experience. I called to find out how long I had left on my contract because I was moving and the place I am moving to in a different state already has a system by another company in place. It was way more than I thought it was. I talked about possibly moving it to my new home in a different state. The gentleman I talked to was extremely rude and not very helpful. When I finally got the information I asked if he could call me back. He said absolutely he would call me back the next day. That was 9 days ago. Still have not received a call.

    Sadly I can't get out of this contract for 30 months or $900.. When I get to my new state I will call this company again and see what I can work out with them to switch it from one state to another and how many more months it will add to my contract. I know I signed a three-year contract I believe when I first signed up with them and now all of a sudden it's 30 more months. They say that I opted to do that but they can't show me any proof of it. If you go with Brinks read the fine fine print.

    I called customer service today and was assisted by a lady named Anastasis. She was very helpful in letting me know how to remove the battery from our wall-mounted motion detector unit. She was able to send me a picture of the unit, and also explain how to get it removed from the bracket in order to be able to replace the low battery.

    This was one of the most ridiculous experiences I’ve ever had with a company. Everything was simple and quick at first, but once they had my payment information it turned into a circus. All that we needed for our home was a VIRTUAL appointment. This should have been a phone call to assist with setup and that is all. Our first appointment was cancelled the day before. No problem, rescheduled for the following day. Again we were called to cancelled on. I asked them what day worked for them…we were pushed out another full week. A few days before the THIRD appointment a tech called to confirm that they would be to my house at 8 AM… This is supposed to be a virtual appointment. I called a supervisor to communicate my frustrations and figure out what was going on. He promised to get to the bottom of it and clear up any issues.

    The day before our new appointment, we were called again by a tech to confirm they would be arriving at our house at 8 AM. That was the last straw for us, we attempted to cancel our services with this company, we were told that’s no problem. Someone called again to try to setup an appointment. I was baffled at this point. So I called back yet again to cancel and was told that I would have to speak with a supervisor, which I was not told the first time I attempted to cancel. I told them I didn’t have time to wait for a supervisor as I was at work. FINALLY, after 3 deliberate attempts to cancel, we are supposedly done with this company. It’s days later and I am still waiting on some type of confirmation that this has happened while having to keep an eye on my bank account to be sure I am not being charged anything. DO NOT USE BRINKS! ABSOLUTE JOKE!

    Updated on 08/28/2025: Update- zero star for customer service/tech support. After 10 days, incorrect battery sent, notice that correct battery shipped but never received. I called customer support and was informed that shipment was cancelled without notice! Now, a tech needs to verify my statement That the battery really is at the 32%; they will not accept a photo. Now I have to rearrange all of my plans to accommodate Brinks’ unreasonable service demands.

    Original Review: The service I received from your agent, Fernando, was very good. Not five stars because he had no direct link to tech support; chat only that created long delays. Also, Brinks originally sent incorrect repair part. Hoping correct replacement arrives soon.

    Due to the lack of communication with this company I ended up not going with them. When they showed up to the house they didn't have all of the equipment that I wanted and then when I tried to call the sales representative she never returned my phone call to even try to address my concern. I didn't call not just once but twice with no call back. If they can't return a phone call I would be scared to see how they would react if my alarm actually went off. The wrong emergency response team might show up at my door. This is a company I would never refer to anyone on going with.

    You suck. You're customer service sucks. You're ability to fix bad work and problematic devices suck. You don't call when the alarm goes off. You're prices should include tech support and also fixing the devices that are used for the system. I bought out my contract so I could move on. We stopped using our alarm because it would have false alarms and the cops would come for no reason. Then we would have to pay for it! Book end, you suck!

    I had a positive experience speaking with the associate. She was both professional and helpful throughout our conversation. She informed me that our current alarm service contract had expired and that the pricing could potentially increase. To maintain the same rate, she recommended signing a new contract, which I agreed to. When I inquired about any incentives for renewing, she mentioned that I would be eligible to receive a new camera or other equipment as part of the offer.

    Their equipment is low quality and in order to get anything fixed, they charge $200+ unless you pay $20 for warranty on a monthly basis. They are expensive ($40 not including warranty) for the poor service that they provide which in essence they aren’t providing since they can’t make repairs for their systems to actually work. In order to assist you at a reasonable price, they require you to extend your contract to tie you back in. It is not worth it.

    I was trying to pay off the balance off my Brinks contract and was having trouble with my payoff method, but the customer service rep was able to help me. Unfortunately, my method of payment was not working. She advised me to notify my bank. I was so frustrated and explained to her that I did not want to start all over again with a different rep the next day and she was so kind, friendly and very helpful she volunteered/agreed to follow up with me the next morning to continue to help me get my issue resolved. I was so happy and very appreciative. The rep Zina was the absolute best.

    The Brinks technician resolved my issue. She was knowledgeable, professional and personable. She knew exactly what to do. We reset the wifi on the panel, and we reset the sensor. That seemed to be the easy fix!

    We upgraded the router and also got a Brinks smart chime to connect to the doorbell. We needed assistance reconnecting the doorbell and connecting/adding the smart chime to the app. Contacted Brinks, got connected to a Tech support promptly, he assisted me and took me step-by-step through the process, showing concern for my needs and helping me to test everything prior to complete the call. It was a great experience, no rush and clear instructions to complete the process.

    System was blaring for a new battery. We are old and needed noise to stop until our son can come change the battery. Customer service was wonderfully helpful! In the process, we updated the system so we can get rid of our landline telephone. That will save us a ton of money--and pay for the new installation fee in two months.

    Sheela was fantastic, she talked me off ledge after being a customer for the last 17yrs. My old Simon XT system has been driving me crazy with all those beeps! Those dreaded beeps causing me so many sleepless nights, so much so I just unplugged the system. Today, I called in to cancel my service, but thankfully Sheela answered the phone and she was able to calmly and humorously tell me my options without making me feel pressured to make any quick decisions. She was so great to talk to, I can’t imagine anyone else that could have saved my account. I think I’m going to stay on and upgrade the system while even lowering my monthly payment! Thank you Sheela, you deserve to wear a cape for your account-saving efforts!

    Overall, our service has been decent over the last several years, although the rate per month keeps creeping up. Then we had the unfortunate experience of having a lightning strike and suddenly found out (after at least an hour on the phone trouble shooting the issue) that our area has no in-person technicians to install or repair equipment. We had to take apart our panel during a second trouble shooting call, under the guidance of a technician with visual access through the cell phone. We managed, but many would not be able to. This is a horrible situation for elderly folks who are not tech savvy and don't have advanced smart phones. I would NOT recommend this company if you are not technology equipped and tech savvy.
