    A home security system makes me feel secure and I love the MONI system. It's an updated system that's easy to use. We'd love a new system, but we had them for a while. We had ADT, but I've been dissatisfied with them. I liked the panel that MONI offered. It's more like a computer. It's large enough where I can see it. The other one didn't have enough features on it and it has a small print. The MONI system was also easy to install, and they were easy to work with. They were efficient in getting everything done quickly. They looked at what we had previously. They were able to accommodate the things that we didn't have in the previous system. They were able to change some of their add ons based on what I already had. The installation team was also professional. They did a very good job in installing everything. They knew what they were talking about and were very knowledgeable about the product.

    I've had to call them one time, and they were very easy and helpful. They answered all my questions. I've not had any difficulties in discussing and getting anything resolved. I enjoyed their service. I've had many situations while I was baking a pie. That alarm is really loud and it definitely knows when something is going off, when there's smoke or anything. It's very efficient. I have seen the new panel and I would like to have it, too.

    The salesman from MONI showed up within a week of when we moved in. We were new to the neighborhood and he showed us a few different options of what we could go with. Knowing what some of the other security companies were, we thought this would be the best value. The salesman was really nice. He explained everything right up front. I had a couple of other questions that I did have for him at the time and he was right up there with an upfront answer about it. He didn’t try to sugarcoat anything or hide anything. It was, “This is what we got” and “This is what it does.” It’s the kind of service you can expect out of it. There was nothing that we found out later on that was a surprise that we were not prepared for.

    The installer was really nice. He explained things very clearly as far as what would be the best place for the placement. There was a couple of little things that we had to touch up after he got done as far as running the wiring. There was nothing more than a little bit of caulk and some touchup paint and in five minutes, it was done.

    I’ve got two large dogs and a couple of times they would get in to the den and they get barking at something going down the street and set the glass break alarms off in the den. The customer service reps were very nice, very friendly and let me know what was going on. Everything is tied in on the phone and on my internet too so my text messages started blowing up, letting me know what was going on before anybody called. They were always nice, always very pleasant. A couple of them that I talked to also had large dogs that would do the same thing with their alarm system. They’re the ones that I actually had security come by and take a look at things, make sure that nothing was out of the ordinary.

    MONI has put my mind a little bit at ease with as far as not really having to worry about anything. There was one instance when I went out and shut the sprinkler system off. I came back. I forgot to lock the front door and a little while later I heard the alarm system say, “Front door open” when I knew it was closed. So it’s entirely possible somebody may have tried to enter the house where I might not have gotten it shut tight and it popped open. But it made me feel a little bit more secure knowing that the system reacted that quickly.

    Everything has been positive and upfront and out in the open. Not having to have somebody feel that they needed to argue with you on something. It was, “This is what’s going on” and “Do you want us to do this,” or “Can we do this?” Any kind of interaction has always been straightforward. When you would ask a question, first they’d answer the question and then they would suggest what they may do if they were in your situation.

    My neighbor has MONI across the street and he talked so highly of them. I took his word, gave them a call, and I’m glad I did. They're very good people and they checked up on me regularly. I used to have ADT but to them, I was just a number. MONI's installation man explained every little detail to where I knew exactly what to do after he left and in case the system went out. He was very thorough. We have the equipment for in case somebody breaks the window and when I dropped something accidentally in the kitchen, it went off like somebody was breaking the glass. So, that’s a plus and I was very pleased. I love my MONI. I work two jobs and I know that if something was to happen, they would call me right away. Even if I’m at home, I’m at ease. On each side of my house, there’s a cop and a sheriff, and across the street, there’s a DPS. So I’m surrounded by security all the time.

    We've been with Moni for 1 year. Customer service is not good. Every time there's a problem, they don't want to know you. Missing a sensor on slider door, they sent me one in the mail. Sent the incorrect one. I feel like I'm paying for a service, so I want some service. Waiting for service to come and install the correct one. Waiting 2 weeks with no security on the back slider. This is not the only problem. There have been others in the past. Stuck in a 5-year contract. How I wish we did more checking before we signed up with Moni. Check others before you sign up with Moni.

    We had ADT here but I thought MONI was a better system. They came, changed all the equipment and put theirs in. I've ordered new signs for my yard a while back and they said the signs would be here within a week or 10 days. But I ordered them a week ago for the third time and they still haven't come. Otherwise, everything has been fine. The system is good and we like it. We've had MONI for five years now and I would recommend them to anyone.

    I wanted a medical monitoring and the cost that MONI was advertising was the same as what I had paid for medical monitoring and it had the home system monitoring with it. The guy who came to install the alarm system was very professional, courteous, and did the job quickly. He was very good at his job. And while I haven't really used the alarm system, it has a storm system alarm that would go off in the middle of the night, which I don't really like. But, MONI said there's no way to stop it.

    I tried using the medical device and it kept going off when I was sleeping. MONI would call me then to see if I was having a problem. And so, I stopped wearing my medical device. I called about the medical monitoring to see if they had a different device that wouldn't go off so easily, and MONI's customer service reps were very friendly and they tried to be helpful. I’ve been paying for MONI for almost three years, and I'm going to be stopping my contract because I’m going to be leaving. If others could find someone that had a shorter contract, it might be better. But as far as MONI's services, they're very good.

    I would recommend MONI to anyone. The salesperson who came up explained everything well and was friendly. Everybody's been polite and good to deal with. The installation also went well. There was a security system in this house but it didn't have any door sensors in it, so they added and updated it. I like the cellphone aspect of the system. I can arm it and disarm it whether I'm home or not. If my kids come home from school or whatever, I can control it even if I'm not here. We have a lot of power outages here, and I like that I'm notified wherever I am when the power goes out and when it comes back on.

    However, being that I live in a really small community, it feels like the cost is pretty expensive. It's not so much of the theft and break-ins and that sort of thing that we have to deal with in the city. So, to have a peace of mind, if it was $35-$40 a month, we'd all be happier with that than over the $56. But it also affects my health insurance with a discount, so it's kind of six of one and half a dozen of the other.

    I had ADT before and I was no longer on their contract. That was year to year and it was getting a little pricey. I had some cameras installed in my house and the guy who did the work had a friend who installs and works for MONI. I thought I could get the service cheaper by five bucks a month. I went ahead and did the switch but unfortunately, it put me on another three-year contract so I'm stuck until 2019. The price has gone up too from when I first signed on. It’s going up a few bucks a month.

    That aside, the installers didn’t have to completely take down all the connections, the little hooks that are attached to my existing doors and windows. They didn’t have to rewire much too other than the control box. It was easy because MONI got a new customer but as far as equipment, all they really needed was the box, like the battery and the control panel. Everything else was already there like all the pre-wiring and the motion sensor.

    Overall, my sense of security comes with the camera system where I can see if there’s anybody in my yard or at my door. I feel secure if I’m away from my home like on a trip. When I called MONI to troubleshoot some kind of problem and I needed to know what to do to get it back on track, they had a good customer service team. The rep helped me resolved the issue and was polite and nice.

    My home security system is about three years old, and I just changed my plan. I called because I’ve been running into a lot of programs that were cheaper but after I get to look at it, they were not really cheaper. They sucker you in with the cheaper rates for right now. But then it jacks and backs up in a year. I just stayed where I’m at with MONI, and we cut the monthly cost down for about 10 bucks. Right now, I’m paying $52.98 a month. They answered all my questions and did what I needed. The particular individual I talked to was very relaxed. They were professional and courteous. They knew the answers and didn’t have to hunt for answers. They knew what they were doing.

    My MONI system works. I have more peace of mind when I’m out of town ‘cause I tend to go and come, and come and go. I have no problems with it. I’ve had one incident where the police showed up. I was in New Mexico in the hospital and a couple of my friends came by to feed the dogs and I neglected to tell them. It was about seven minutes before the police showed up which to me is not bad at all.

    I have adequate features in my MONI system but I'd like to have the keyless entrance to my door and/or the doorbell with the camera. I got the system for security purposes but I have purchased more batteries to replace than anything else. The quality without paying for batteries is adequate but I'm not impressed. I also can't get the smartphone feature to work. About two years ago, my contract ran out and I had a re-install of service with MONI. The technicians were okay and I didn't have any problems with them. Their customer service that I've had interactions with have answered my questions too. MONI is within the feasible amount but I'd tell others to do their homework, check around and compare services.

    On 1/28/2016 we signed up for a security system with Monitronics now Moni. Our contract was for 2 years which would be expiring 1/28/2018. We called to cancel our contract today 2/1/18 and were told that we signed a 5 years contract. They have not supplied us to date with a signed agreement which was for 2 years. I asked for them to email me the contract we signed and said they need to 72 hours to do that. Never got a copy of the original contract. I have been in business for many years but have seen anything so dishonest and fraudulent. We should be able to cancel a contract that had a 2 year agreement. This company needs to be investigated.

    I had a home security system before but MONI offered a better deal. But I had a situation where I was very displeased with the service in terms of the contract. When the final papers were drawn up, it was late in the afternoon and the installer handed me the bill which was on his phone and he wanted me to sign the cobtract. After a few clarifications on the phone, I signed it. But the installer or the person who was authorized to use the service was very slick. After I had made my initial payment of $54, he, later on, went back to the bank and changed the deals that we had on the contract that was drawn up by him. I’m disappointed that he upped my payment to $58 and he said it was because of taxes but that was not what he showed me on the contract that we had. I went to the bank but they said they closed the deal. At some point, I'm going to call MONI about that. I’m dissatisfied.

    MONI is an excellent home security system and one wouldn't have any trouble with their people and with the system. One doesn’t get a whole lot of hassle when they would call and MONI gets on the job immediately. I've had MONI for so long and I've always used it. I'm in love with it and I don’t fix it if it's not broken. It's always okay and so I didn’t have any reason to change. The customer service representative has called me once or twice to say that something has happened to the system so she'd send somebody out. The technician came and she's very nice and pleasant. She took care of the problem and it was fine. At that time my system went down because I've had it for a certain amount of time and my bill went down, too. Other than that, the system serves the purpose and somebody comes straight on out whenever anything happens. I've also referred MONI to quite a few people.

    I cancelled my service and they still billed me for another month. I called to check on my account and was told I had a 30 day waiting period to cancel my service and still required to pay. Their company is not worth my anger. If you need my money that bad to make me pay another month for someone to press a button, you can have it! I will never call for service from you again, my camera's broke prior to me calling to cancel.

    Been a customer for a few years and in the past they haven't missed a beat. Recently bought a new home and needed my existing system and a additional keypad installed. My wife called to scheduled a move and as agreed they would extend my contract to move. This is supposed to be a 12 month extension. They extended us 16 months because we asked for the additional keypad. Which is fine until they didn't install it correctly. I was supposed to move all my equipment and they would bring an additional keypad to install. Since I already had a MAIN keypad you would think the installers would bring the correct (secondary keypad). I only got to remove my sensors by the time the installers came and the day of the install they brought a keypad (MAIN keypad instead of secondary) with them and installed the keypad and sensors.

    They said that we could call back and have the additional equipment that was at the other house once removed, installed at the new house. This consisted of the old keypad, 2 smoke detectors, doorbell camera and an outdoor camera. I called back, because I planned on getting a door lock also, but changed my mind. When I called again to finish the install of the old equipment, I was told they were going to charge me for the additional keypad because they couldn't install 2 "MAIN" keypads, well then they should have told me at the time of the install that the 2 MAIN keypads could not be installed and I would have told them to wait until they had the TS1 keypad and to install my old MAIN keypad.

    They are trying to charge me an additional $200 for secondary keypad. How are you going to charge me an additional $200 and extend my contract for 16 months, it was extended 16 months to cover the additional keypad vice the 12 month move kit extension. I talked to 3 customer service reps, 2 were horrible on the 30th of January. The rep I talked to on January 17th, 2018 was excellent and said that if we wanted additional equipment (door lock and keypad) it would be around $725, unless I provided the other keypad that was at the old house. I said I would just get the old keypad since I didn't want to pay for the additional keypad. The rep on the 30th of January was rude, telling me that that was not the agreement, I said I wanted to talk to someone else, then her voice changed and you could tell she was mad, so she said she would put a supervisor on the line.

    Well I waited for a good 7 minutes and finally she came back on and said to hold that her supervisor was pulling the recording of the call and put me on hold again. I guess she thought I would hang up, but I wait AGAIN. She came back on the line and said that her supervisor would get back to me after they reviewed the call. I told her to pull all the calls I have called in for since the 26th of December. I also told one of the reps that I would just go to another provider and he said that was fine, REALLY, you would let a customer go after years of service over $200, you just extended my contract by 16 months and I can't get the secondary keypad I extended that long for. I am going to cancel this contract, I would rather pay out than to deal with this company anymore. I knew I should have went with ADT initially. Worst customer service EVER!!!

    My 90 father has been with Monitronics since 2014. After selling his house in 2016 he moved to a rental home and called Monitronics to move his system with him (it's supposed to be free after all). After they told him they would do this they came to the new address (never asked about how to get the old system over to him) and put in a whole new system for "free" without telling him that he would be signing a 5 year term with them. I was livid when I found out about this and tried to cancel immediately. Of course they would not let that happen even after I told them they could take the system out of the house. They let me listen to a recorded voice message of him saying "yes". I never heard what their conversation was over the phone and of course with dementia setting in who knows what they told him or what he thought he was signing up for- again, this was just to "move their system" that he had installed at his old house.

    Nevertheless, he still paid for this monthly after he continued to get ill we were told he could wear a bracelet to monitor in case he needed help from potentially falling. We decided that would be helpful so he wore that hoping it would help in case he fell when home by himself even though the signal didn't really reach back to the bedroom which was where he spent time. Now he's moved with me to Florida and he's been paying on this system for 2.5 years and now they are telling us he still has 22 months left on the contract and can't get out of it.     Horrible experience with MONI security. Be aware that even if you move they are not willing to work with you to cancel service, instead they push you to keep your service. I told them I wanted to cancel several times however they repeatedly tried to negotiate. I would not recommend their service. When a customer asks for help you should listen versus forcefully pushing them to keep their service. They did not even honor the policy on the back of the contract.

    I had my monitoring service with Moni (formerly Monitronics) for many years. I sold my house in November 2017 and I cancelled the account. I called numerous times as I continued to get billed and of course they assured me it was cancelled. Each time they blatantly lied to me and continue to bill me as we enter February 2018. Thankfully I was going to purchase numerous systems for our family businesses and new home and I am so happy we didn’t. I have worked in law enforcement for the majority of my adult life and this is fraud. They play the numbers game and hope they can overbill those that won’t complain. I will be filing a complaint with the Texas State Attorney's Office as well and I would recommend everyone do the same to stop this behavior.

    Had their service for 15 years. Moved to a different location and wanted to continue service with them. Called and talked with them on the last part of October 2017. Told them I wanted to move my system. Well it is now the last part of January 2018 and after several phone calls they were going to put my system in and give me what I had before. Well when the tech finally got here they had less than half of what I was supposed to get after waiting for 3 months to get a system put in. I talked with them the last time and they agreed to put window contracts on my windows and do a 24 month contract. Well they had a work order for door contacts and heat sensor and motion sector. Well I have large animals so here the motion detector won’t work so I said just do the windows.

    The tech called MONI and they said ok fine but only with a 48 month contract. THAT IS NOT WHAT THEY TOLD ME ON THE PHONE A COUPLE WEEKS AGO. They were actually putting in less equipment than I had before. Payton is the one I talked to and he has no business being in customer service. Being a customer for 15 or more years ended today. I will be telling everyone that will listen how bad a company they have become. Bait and switch is illegal anyway and I will be contacting Better Business Bureau about this matter.

    I have fallen and broken my back and my ankle so I wanted a panic button. Also, we were referred by our next door neighbors to Moni. He spoke very highly of them and that’s why we got them. I signed up with Moni thru Steven and he was able to answer my questions. They’ve been very good about walking me through. We had company so we had doors opening and closing and so we wanted the door chime off. I called in. Someone walked me through the menu on how to turn that off. We turned that off and now then I knew how to turn it back on. That has worked really well so that was good.

    I signed my contract on June 2015 and signed up for automatic draft. I would verify my account balance every month and it was $0. I suddenly received a notice about a month ago billing me for a bit over $2,000 because all my payments did not go through! Why did they wait almost 3 years to let me know! Bad billing dept!!! I would check my balance on the website periodically and my balance was $0 since 2015! I wrote a letter to the company and have not received a reply. They just cancelled my service!!! Think I deserve an explanation and my review not to be ignored like the previous one.

    MONI's sales rep was super pleasant and a very genuine person. And he came in and he presented an offer and he did a really good job. They set up an appointment for the installation, and the guy who did it explained where I should set up cameras. It was also nice enough that he offered me an additional placement camera that would overlook my backyard which is the second entrance to our home. We didn't go with it, but I appreciated that he was thorough and gave us that offer.

    Also, the way he placed the home screen that I use to lock my home was really really efficient. It looks nice, and then the guy ran it down to an outlet that was below us and one can't see the cord because the tucked it in below. And then he explained also after that how the outdoor camera was going to be working and how it's nice. He said I should put it underneath an overhang because we live in Minnesota and there’s not a snow and rain. I really like the setup of the equipment. It kind of reminds me of an iPhone and it's really easy to use. And it looks sleek and very stylish, and I'm very pleased. Although I haven't dived into anything besides turning it on and off, the smartphone features have all been working how I kind of expected them to.

    I like the comfort and the peace of mind it gives. But the amount that I'm paying for the satisfaction I feel I'm getting isn't quite worth it right now in my eyes. I'd like not to cancel it. And the only reason I wouldn't is that the security means a lot to my youngest daughter who is 12 when she's home alone. But I'm almost to the point where I could do without it because of the price and because of everyday bills. I would love an offer some time like "Hey, you know what? Thank you for being our customer for this long" or "Happy Birthday" or "Here's the coupon" or "Here's the discount". Everything is going well, but if the price is cut in half, I would be so happy. Other than that, MONI's product and services are really nice. I loved their sales process from the beginning to the end, and to the installation. It was very easy and very informative. And I like having MONI.

I have never had any problems though I did have the controls replaced since my husband dropped his. We had it since we moved in so that’s been 20 years so it wasn’t bad. We have only had MONI for a couple of years because we had another company and then they were bought out by MONI. A couple of people asked us what was the cost. They thought I had the sign outside because my daughter’s name is Monica.     I'm a current LiveWatch customer and I've been unhappy with the service. Initially, the service was great and everything was working fine but I added an approved Z-Wave thermostat which has caused all my Z-Wave devices to not function correctly. In particular, my door locks do not consistently respond to remote commands and I've spent dozens of hours trying to fix the problem with support. The company will not replace the faulty device which is a safety problem (i.e., the door locks do not always correctly indicate if they are locked or not) - sad for a security company! Since I've invested so much time and effort already, I'm just replacing the faulty device on my own dime but I do not recommend given the problems with the technology.

    I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone. I installed a camera system with company, later on I was diagnosed with a unforeseen illness. I called and wrote this company telling them now I had to go out of business to save my life and start treatments. The only thing they was caring about was keeping money going. This was the ONLY COMPANY that gave me a hassle. I end up going to bank to put a permanent stop payment on my account.

    My experience with MONI has been horrible. The complaints about this company are too long to list so I will focus on the two main issues I currently have. My contract recently ended and 6 weeks prior to it ending I stated that I wanted to terminate my contract. The operator I talked to said Ok and that she would annotate that on my account. Several operators stated this throughout last year. Today I get a call saying I owe them money, so when I tried to explain my contract was over they replied that I had to send them a written letter with my signature to end the contract. I told them that I never agreed to that and they sent me a copy of the contract. I signed a contract with a 3rd party and the contract I signed simply stated a 3 yr term with a set monthly price $54.99. I signed on an iPad app and the document they sent me was several pages and had my digital signature pasted on to a document that I never signed.

    All I attempted to do was ensure my account was cancelled and get the amount they say I owe them removed as I am not using their service and do not want it. Now I am inclined to pursue legal action for fraud because I never signed this document and I am not sure how they say I did. They also raised my monthly rate over the course of this contract which again is something I never agreed to. This company is really deceitful and forces you into an expensive month to month service after your contract ends and then makes you have to jump through hoops to get it canceled. They refused to cancel my service over the phone and said they will e-mail me instructions on how to cancel in 48 hrs. Apparently it takes them 48 hrs to send an e-mail.

    I'm 71 years old and I had just moved here. I didn’t know the neighbors and my kids wanted me to buy a security system. I called another guy and they came in but my sister and I were not happy with it at all. The installation was horrible. The man came in and there was already a security system here and he didn’t tell me much. He acted like he didn’t want to be there and he was not very comfortable with it. He was very abrupt and it took him all day to put the thing in. The other system was on the opposite wall but he said he needed an electric outlet at the bottom and cut a hole in the wall. I didn’t understand his reason for that. He just made me mad and then when it was all over they tell me, he just gathered all his stuff and left.

    I didn’t know how to use it and I called them several times. Then one day, they called me and got angry with me because they wanted me to set it off to test it. I said I needed instructions and the lady finally sent me a website where I could print sections off of it. Then Moni bought them out so we turned to them and it's much better. but I like it especially because of the price now. They reduced the price because of my age. The customer service reps are very polite every time I call them.

    With this new Moni, we had some really bad rainstorms and then we had a tornado. It was about three miles out there and they set the alarm off. I couldn’t remember to turn it off. My family was here and we finally figured it out. But it was all three of us, it sends you off out of bed. Also, I would like somebody to come and pull the sign because when they put the sign out here, it wasn’t Moni. I'd like to have another sign and put it in a different location because the shrubs had grown up around it and we can't see it.

    MONI had called the store that I worked in at that time and we were already good with our alarm system. I asked them if they had home alarms and they did, so I set up with them. They're very nice to me and they have very good customer service. However, one time I pushed the wrong button on my alarm in the home. I waited and nobody called. I was trying to reset it, and then finally my phone rang, I picked it up and nobody was there. I called the number right away to try to get a hold of someone, and they said that I'd be on hold. After that, I reset my alarm and put my code away because I had to go to work. An hour and a half later, the police from Pompano Beach called and asked where my house was and if I was okay. And so, I told them what happened. I don’t know why I had such a lag time between when my alarm was set off and when the phone call came through. I'm very happy with MONI's service but I wasn’t happy that time.

    We had a security company and the middleman used MONI for monitoring. When we had to go find somebody else, I wanted to stay with the same company because they were already familiar with everything we had. I started calling MONI and at that time they didn't have their stuff together. I would get put on hold and it was a nightmare in the beginning. But I was determined that they were going to look into it so I just kept on. It took me three months to get hooked up with them. I asked their rep if there was a reason why they didn't want my business and he said that they liked my business. I then questioned why they wouldn't send somebody out here like they were supposed to. They finally did. I made an appointment with the guy and he came right out three days later. We had him hook up everything and we were even made to upgrade to everything and it has been fine ever since.

    But one of the cameras the guy hooked up works sometimes and sometimes it doesn’t. We’re snowbirds and that’s the reason why we got an alarm system. We're in Florida and when we get back home, they are going to have to come out and fix it. I would recommend MONI. If something happens on the alarm, they call us right away. We’ve never had any problems like that though. It was the service department, getting it going, that we had the problems with. Our experience has been really good and hopefully, they’ll get better.

    They just need to have everything together. When a customer calls up and wanting their service, they should go out of the way for them. We’ve been in business for so long that we dealt with all these companies before. Also, I wanted to pay a year in advance because I didn't want to deal with the company every month and the rep said he didn't know if we can do that. It was bad. I also had a letter from them that stated if I wanted to renew, I was to have a certain rate. By the time I finally got them around, they wouldn’t honor that rate. I told them they were the ones that sent me the letter.

    My parents (at 74) apparently signed a contract. They had no idea they were agreeing to a 5 year contract that was cancellable by death, retirement home incapacitation or military relocation. They have now moved in with me and my family and MONI wants me to cancel my current contract, have them upgrade to their system and convert my parents' contract to me... All I have read and experienced with this company is VERY negative and even though they claim they want you to have a positive experience, I have determined this means a positive experience for them- $$... They don't seem to understand. Had they made this process easier, I may be tooting their horn- as I am not happy with my current provider either- but at least I know my elephant in the room, instead of having to get to know a different elephant. I have NEVER see a contract that is not cancellable within a reasonable period of time (3 months or 90 days)...

    We were with MONI Security less than a year and began experiencing camera issues. We updated wifi speed, etc that they recommended and only once did technical support have ability to resolve an issue. I have cancer and experience seizures so rely on cameras for medical purposes as well as home and family security and one reason we turned to Monotronics is because they had claimed quick response service times and monitoring.

    In May 2016 I took very sick. Not a single camera had been working after numerous complaints and on a day I had a major emergency that could have been fatal, my medical alert did not even work for me. EMS and Dr tested it later as well because it should have worked at such a needed time. I then called Monotronics to cancel which they did not want to do until I asked the rep if they would be liable for my death if their equipment failed. I was then sent a cancellation form, and returned it via fax with a latter from both me and my doctor. I was told we could cancel without fee and now almost daily Monotronics is harassing us to pay termination fee and past bills since July date. This is something that should have already been resolved. In the past I recommended Monotronics to others but would probably never do again.

    We needed a security system and the people in our house before uses MONI so we used them also. Right after we moved in there were a couple windows I decided I wanted some monitors so they came out and put those in for us. They came on-time and they had their suggestions about where they should put them. I feel safer but I'm just not convinced that the whole system works that well because it takes so long for the response. Like if you have a break-in by the time you get the call from them and the sheriff's department after the alarm goes off, I could have done that myself. And it's not just them. I'm just not convinced that the way the system works overall between your calls to the police or the sheriff's department is a good way to do it.

    Also we've had the fault code come on in our security system so I called customer service to figure what was going on with that. I've had problems with the system about three or four times where I've had to call and reset things. It was mainly a communications failure. And then last night, a 6F code came up, which I'm not sure what it was. It was saying something about radio connection and it couldn't connect with the home office.

    With technology that's just the way things are so I don't get upset. There's nothing they can do like when power goes out or the weather is bad. They're just glitches. And it's certainly not the person sitting there at the desk that answers the phone. They have nothing to do with that. The customer service reps were helpful. They fixed it every time. But I'm just not convinced that the system overall is that great. I think the new system with the Ring which have an access to cameras is better than anything. It's just as effective. I actually though about dropping MONI and going to the Ring system. I think that the system with the cameras and have an access via your cellphone and that is just better than what MONI is doing or what anybody's doing.

    We've had MONI since 2006. We bought a new house and got them because of the price. When we came in and forgot to turn our alarm off they called right away and response time was great. I've had a few billing issues. I know they normally bill a month in advance and I go to pay my bill online and it's like, "You owe us $54." And I was like, "Wait a minute. It's got to be $20 something." And they did lower my monthly fee because another company was putting a carrot in front of me and they matched their price. They actually went lower than another company.

    We have a horse farm also so I'm probably looking at getting inside and outside cameras. I know there's a lot of other systems out there where you can upgrade, where you can monitor your house when you're away, look and see if there's somebody outside your door. That's what I want to move to but right now we're happy with what we have. I would recommend MONI because they have been right by us.

    There's been a few break-ins at where I live, so I wanted to make sure that I have protection. The reps at Moni are professional. They know what they're doing. When I ask questions, they have answers. I've called them to keep a payment from being late. Instead of mailing the payment, I told them to take it out of the account. Everything was good. The installation team was also great. They knew what they came to do and did it.

    Since getting Moni installed, we sleep better at night. We also have it on my telephone. If I leave home and don’t get back in time to set it, or my children don’t get here in time to set it, I just set it from my telephone. Moni is a great company to be with. They call when my alarm go off. If they don’t think there is a matter that’s going on, they call first. They let me know ahead of time whether they should send someone out or not. I like that because where I stay, you have to pay if you get a false alarm.

I called MONI Security to cancel my service and they said I couldn't cancel, that I would have to pay the remaining 14 months I have left on my contract or ask the total strangers who are buying my house to assume my account!     Customer service is awful. You wait a very long time then you're passed off to someone else and you wait again. There is no way to cancel your account without immediately paying the monthly fee on your account. They add a year for every change you make. They added a year when l moved. Unacceptable!!     I have been on the phone with this company to cancel my account and the steps/red tape you have to go through is incredible! You have to be on the phone for 30 minutes and then once you get through to a real person, they try to keep you as a customer and argue you into a new system. Once you get to your breaking point and start yelling at them to cancel the service, they make you fill out email forms or will not end your service. These emails come on different days to make sure you miss them so they can keep the service going. Very shady business tactics! It has taken me months to get their service canceled.

    My husband and I love MONI and wouldn't have any other alarm service. We constantly refer them all to other residents here. And when we move to Florida, we're going to continue with them. They are phenomenal. However, were were a little bit upset with them last year. Our touch panel was really outdated and neither one of us was home. It actually sent out an alarm that somebody was in our home. When all of it was cleared down, the police was here but it turned out to be a false code because the panel had to be replaced. So we got in touch with MONI and they said that our system should have been updated a long time ago. I told them that it was their responsibility since they could see what we have.

    But since then, it has been taken care of and we were very pleased. The one that was put in at the top of our steps was something with radon as well as a smoke alarm. It also got a heat sensor wherein if it gets too hot upstairs, it would automatically call in a possible fire alarm. I was expecting to pay an upgrade fee but there was no charge. That made us feel very comfortable. We were told to do a self-test every 30 days to make sure that the signal is being sent out. since we're now wireless.

    The only problems that we've had was when I've set the alarm off by mistake once. Also, we have a roommate who's renting a room from us. He has set it off because he forgot the code that we put in for him. But he was able to get it deactivated right away. He called my cellphone and I said not to worry because I have the app. I went in and I shut it off right away. And then, when I came home, I cleared the messages. But at no point in time was police dispatched since I was able to get it off in time.

    If there was only one thing that we would want is a third remote for the key but we wouldn't pay for it since we'd be selling the house. And once we get to Florida, I would want a front door camera linked into our alarm system because the service tech that came here said that they had that as an option. So if somebody was at our door, it would alert us via our cellphones.

    MONI had called me and at that time, I was needing a security system so I went with them. Every time I’ve had somebody come out, they’ve always been nice. However, they came out three times just to fix one problem and every time they charged me 50 bucks. They didn’t fix the problem the first time they came out, and then they had to come out again and still didn’t fix the problem. They finally fixed the problem the third time but I don’t see why they had to do it three different times just to figure out what the problem was. Also, for some reason I wasn’t at home when they called me and told me that they detected a fire at my house. But there was no fire, so I don’t know why they detected that. They also did not tell me that when they lowered my payment, it was going to extend my contract for six months, so come March I will be discontinuing it.

    My sisters have MONI and they told me they never had problems that’s why I went with them. I opened my business then they gave me an appointment and they came and I had their service until a month ago. I sent a letter to cancel because my business went down with the hurricane. The guy I purchased the service from was really sweet and nice. He explained everything. Their customer service thinks with me if I have any problem. If I had a question, they would answer and try to help me out real fast.

    I got cameras, panic button and sensors in the doors installed. The alarm went off once when my grandchild pushed the panic button. They called me and my husband. They also called my two daughters. I didn’t pick up the phone fast so they call all the phone numbers quickly and asked, “What's the password? Is everything okay?     MONI Security's sales rep was a very friendly guy except when I called him back with an issue. I told him that they didn’t set a sensor in the garage door and I was wondering if they could get one because if anyone tried to come in my house, they could access through the garage. He said yes but never really followed through and neither did I. Their customer service reps were friendly though and the installation took over two hours, but it was okay.

    But the only issue I have right now is that the equipment has glitches here and there. One time, my daughter walked in the house and didn’t know the alarm was on because usually, when somebody would walk in, it would let them know and they were supposed to unlock it. However, she said it didn’t alarm. I have two doors and garage doors that could access the interior of the house. Sometimes, out of nowhere, it would just say, “Garage door open” when no one has opened the door. Then she was home alone the other day. Usually when we open one of the doors, it would make a beeping sound to let us know someone opened something. She was laying down and it beeped. So, she got up and looked around, but there was nobody.

    And then a couple of days ago, a lady called me, telling me that I owe MONI and that I hadn’t paid my account which was strange ‘cause I pay it every month. And then she told me she was going to transfer me to another department so that I can make a payment but we got disconnected. As soon as I double-check the bank, then I could talk to them about it. Other than that, the security equipment we have is good although I’m not 100% satisfied with it. Still, I recommended my sister and she ended up getting the service. I only have a camera that snaps pictures of my living room and she ended up getting video which might be better.

    MONI was the first one we called, and it was affordable for what it was and the guy who came out was very pleasant. He was very knowledgeable about the product and the service itself, and he wasn’t pushy. The instructions on how to use the system were very clear-cut and he made sure he walked us through it so we knew how to use our mobile app with it, and the unit that’s in the house. The installers were very quick, efficient and they cleaned up after themselves. We’re very happy with all the features so far, though it could be a little bit cheaper as we're constantly trying to adhere to our budget. The system goes off sometimes when I don't want it to, but they're very quick to respond, so we definitely feel safer with it. They provide excellent service and they have been good in providing us with a sense of security. We’ve been satisfied with MONI overall.

    After paying for Moni Security for nearly 6 years and paying highly upfront for a limited system with rate increases steadily climbing and no notifications of those increases, I decided today to drop Moni service. Think I could just call and quit them? NOT! The first rep I waited online for 45 minutes to talk to then transferred me to another rep and I waited another 30 minutes for her. I asked to have my monthly service rate lowered to a previous rate. She was agreeable BUT and here's the catch, ANOTHER 4 year contract! At this point I just wanted out from this devious company, but that is not so easy.

    I would still be liable for my NEW high rate even though I was leaving them TODAY because it takes 30 days or more to end service with them and I must continue to pay until THEY decide I can leave them AND I must sign a document either online or on paper to state my desire to end service. They drag out the process to keep the money coming in! The rep said she would send me an email that I could sign but no email has arrived. My attorney has been notified and I plan to take this problem to social media, local news stations and the BBB, along with this site. BEWARE OF MONI.

    The sales representative of MONI was obviously wanting to sell something but at the same time he wasn't too pushy which I appreciated. When the installation showed up they just did their job and were gone. They knew what they were doing and they were straightforward. They had things done at a short period of time. But the main thing I liked about MONI is that I could control the system with my cellphone from anywhere in the planet. If some doors are left open I can be somewhere else and it will let me know what's going on. And if I want somebody to come in and get something I can just turn it off and they can come in and do their job and turn it back on no matter where I'm at. My only complaint might be that the batteries don't last as long as some of the sensors on the doors and windows. But other than that no problem. I also did deal a little bit on the price that they may be willing to work with me so that helps.

    When I made my two-family house into a one-family I had to change the system a little bit and add different entities or entrances to it. And since MONI didn’t have anyone local to be able to do it, they allowed me to contract out which I did. And it was approved by them. And the job was done at no cost to me. They talked to the person that I contracted locally with. And everything was done between them. With customer service I just call them and let them know the dates that I’m going to be away. And then, my one daughter that lives locally is put on the list to be notified first. And my daughter would approve the police coming and checking the house. Since I lost my husband MONI provides a helpful sense of security. I’ve been called when a little wind took the door and jimmies the alarm. And I’ve been called in the night. Even if it is a false, I know they’re right there for me. I would definitely recommend them.

    I have been a seventeen year customer and have never had an issue paying my monthly monitoring fee. However, a problem developed with our security system (failed communication) and a technician was dispatched to our home to identify the problem. After informing us that the system would no longer communicated through our current phone line and that a cell phone in place of the landline might not work properly, Monitronics have continued to charge us a monitoring fee although there is no communication from my home to their company.

    We called to cancel our service, but after stating that we would like to cancel our service, we were transferred and place on hold. Overall, I was transferred three times and left on hold for about an hour. It appears that mymoni is only about my money. I am now contemplating my next course of action as it seems that this company will not grant me the opportunity to cancel my service and will continue to charge me for a service that is not being rendered.

    Monitronics (https://mymoni.com/) just took $243.13 out of our bank account. They said that they were going to do it unless we queried the charge. We did, eventually, after hours on the phone dealing mostly with machines but when the odd person came on, they pretty much immediately put us on holds of up to 40 minutes. We were told that they would look into the charge and get back to us. They did not, they just withdrew the money from our account. Monitronics claims that they are charging us for a service to our system, which they never billed us for.

    Their system has failed repeatedly for months and their initial response was to have us fix it (troubleshoot), which entailed two hours on the phone with a tech support person. Ultimately, they sent someone out to fix the problem, a problem with their system, not something new we wanted adding. At no time was I told that the fix was one I had to pay for. It is ironic that this is a home security company, because it seems to be a criminal enterprise. The reason I am writing this review is in the hope that Monitronics scans the web for reviews and finds this. I won't be able to transmit this feedback to them, because they rarely pick up the phone and they do not have an email address for customer care.

    WOW HOW STUPID CAN I BE!!! I never checked with the BBB when we got this "Security Service" 5 years ago. I am so mad at myself. Being a not accredited service would for sure have made me wary. After going over the complaints on CONSUMER AFFAIRS WEBSITE, I'm not surprised I'm having as much trouble. Everyone says 1.5 hours on phone, 2 years to cancel. etc. etc. I was quite excited this morning, someone answered quickly, I said I wanted to cancel, she told me she needed to transfer me to that dept. I was on hold for only 13 min. when someone answered, but of course, they couldn't help me and now, I'm on hold again. I now know, never to say cancel, but... 29 min, and 23 sec now. Not sure how to get a person?

    They surely are messing with the wrong person here. One thing, they seem to get back to the complaints on BBB very quickly, so I'll copy and paste this there as well. Stupid me!!! Ashley ** and Theresa ** seem to be the only two people who respond to complaints on Consumer. This is what one customer wrote, When attempting to cancel the service, staff personnel state they can't. They give various reasons why, and dump you back into a long wait cue. When you get another person, they say the same thing.

    Basically, they retain accounts by refusing to cancel the service. They use dishonest business practices. Avoid MONI or you will be sorry. So, wish me luck in trying to cancel. I'll do stuff like this every day if I have to! BUSINESS NAME WAS MONITRONICS AND IS NOW CHANGED TO MONI SECURITY SYS. JUST TRYING TO CANCEL...

    We switched from ADT to Monitronics and we've been with them for many years before it became MONI. Their customer service team is excellent, does a very good job, and answered my questions. I also had asked for more stickers for my windows with the new MONI on it because we still had Monitronics as well as asked for a yard sign and they were sent immediately. I've been quite satisfied with the service and pleased with the overall quality of the security system. It is not the newest and most updated system but it has worked quite well for us. It's good to know that I have the system and we use it regularly. We don’t ever turn it off, so it's part of our household. I also tell friends who ask that having MONI would be a way of feeling more secure in their homes.

    I've been a consumer over half my life. My current job is in customer service and customer care. MONI Security by far has the worst customer service I've ever experienced. I've been on hold for over 120 minutes trying to cancel my service and I'm still on hold. They make it hard to talk to a human being unless your alarm goes off, or you want to start new services. Something DirecTV can teach everyone. They are great answering phone calls and taking care of their customer. I will never recommend this company and will do everything to make sure no one I know uses them.

    I tried to cancel my contract since I sold my house and wanted to see how much it would be to break my contract. They said “All remaining months in the contract is still due. You have the right to cancel your contract but you have to pay the balance up front.” What?! That is ridiculous! They are the WORST company I have ever dealt with in any industry! If you are considering them, DON’T! You are better off using anyone else. I am a software developer and I am going to dedicate my time outside of work to get this message across the web so less people will be trapped in these contracts and use legit company for their alarm system.

    I've had my MONI equipment for four years and it seems to work fine. I like the smartphone features because I can disarm and arm my system away from home. I usually control everything from my phone and I’m happy about that, and it works. Anytime there’s an alarm or anything that goes off, I get an immediate response from them either email, text or by phone. I live in a really nice neighborhood but those are the neighborhoods people usually go after, so I feel real good and comfortable about having MONI. However, it can be a little cheaper now with all of the new technology out. Every now and then I call them to see if I could get the price lower from being a customer as long as I have been. I could stand for an update but until I can afford it or until someone offers me one for free, I’ve got to stick with what I have.

    I moved out of our house today and gave the keys to the new buyers. I have called 3 different times, each having a wait time of 45 minutes. One time I was disconnected without talking to anyone. Another they transferred me and I waited on hold for 40 minutes before I had to hang up to pick up my child from daycare. We also have never received statements in the mail, and I don't know my customer number to be able to log in online. We need to cancel our subscriptions ASAP because we don't even live in the house anymore!!!

    Moni Executive Team was quick to fix and make my situation right. After a long battle with Moni regular customer service the executive team jumped in and had the system repaired quickly. The system has been running properly since the new installation with no problems or false alarms.     I have been a customer for 4 years, recently bought a new home and moved my system. Ever since the new install it won't work properly and due to incorrect equipment installed they reinstalled new equipment ruining the brand new 2500.00 paint job that we just had done. Had they installed the correct equipment the first time out brand new paint job would have never been destroyed costing us more money. I call to have this resolved and am on hold for 1.5 hours, all they did was me from rep to rep to rep. Nobody ever helped me. Just made me tell my story over and over then pass me to the next person. I am paying for a new system that hasn't worked in 2 months but don't want to credit my account.

    It's now month 3. It still doesn't work and still won't credit my account, multiple false alarms cause me to leave my job to check on my home which is also costing me money and possibly my job. Made complaint ON Better Business Bureau and will continue to make complaints and take this further until they make it right. When I moved my system to my new home I was not in contract. It had ended. I was happy with service before so I moved it and resigned the contract but using them the 2nd time around seems to be a big mistake, not the same service I had the last 4 years and regret choosing to have them move their equipment and customer service to my new home.

    I felt that I needed to get a security system. MONI's price was good and they happened to call me at the right time so I signed up with them. Their sales reps were very nice and helpful. I was a single mom at the time and told them that I wanted a security system but I couldn't afford what they were offering. And they worked with me and got it down to a price that I could afford. When the system was installed, their guy came on time and I didn't have to wait. He told me that it would take him half an hour to finish the installation but it took him less than that and I loved that. He was real good about stuff and very polite. He also showed me how to use the system. I explained to him that I'm a technotard so he took his time and explained everything to me.

    Then I noticed that the sensor for the security on my basement door came off. Before, when I opened up the door, upstairs it'll say that the basement door was opened. But now I don't hear it. I should need a few double-sided tape, if that doesn't stay on. Aside from that, we don't use the system a whole lot since my husband is retired and he's home a lot. But it's nice to have it when we need it. There's a panic button, there's 911, and there's ambulance if we need that. And it seems to serve my purpose. I'm pleased with it and if they could knock off another $10, I'd really be all good. Their rates are fair, though, and I like the fact that they worked with me with everything. It made a difference.

    I recently moved (12-9-17) and sold my house and decided to terminate my security services with Monitronics. The original company with which I had had a contract in 2009 was acquired by Monitronics and I never had a contract directly with them. Even though the move was planned in advance, I did not know the exact day until about 10 days prior. As soon as I knew, I contacted all my service providers to turn off services, including Monitronics. I requested my services to be terminated on 12-9-17. They gave me a hard sell to get me to keep my service and buy new equipment. I said, "No" and they seemed to accept it, so I assumed it would be turned off as I requested. Then they sent me a form to fill out which I did and sent it back. I called them again to make sure it would be turned off so the new owner would not have a problem.

    Unfortunately my account is on autopay and I cannot turn it off. About 5 days ago I went to my online banking and discovered another charge by Monitronics so I called them. I was told that my contract calls for 30-day notice for termination and that the 30 days started not when I first called but when they had processed the form they sent me. I said that nobody told me that and my original contract was not even with Monitronics. The only response I got was "sorry". My termination date is January 12, 2018 - about 5 weeks after my first call. I no longer own the house and have no access to it and the security service is still on. What happens if there is a false alarm? I don't want to be responsible for that. I had no problem terminating any of my other services - even cable - only Monitronics. Plus I'm out about $75. I don't like their tactics and disregard for their customers' well-being. Beware!

    It has bee a long time that I've been with MONI because we’ve had them for quite a few years when they were still Monitronics. I have talked to customer service a few times as they went up a bit on our bill and they took care of it by lowering it to what it had been the year before. They may not get it at a lower price as I have because I’ve been with them for a long time, but I would recommend them. I’ve tested my alarm as well and everything’s fine with it. I haven’t had any problems.

    I've been with MONI for at least five years. I called their customer service team when I got new windows. And I still had my old window stickers from the original security company I had. I save every piece of paper I have. MONI's team said I could get window stickers and a sign for the front yard. And the first person I talked to was absolutely wonderful. They updated all the information because they had an old email address for me. They didn’t have my cell phone number and it would ring back to the house phone which apparently, didn’t work. So they tested the system for me and spent quite a bit of time on the phone with me going through everything. Also, the person I talked to told me what the service charges would be to have the new contacts put on the windows. The window people removed the old contacts that I had and I got out the glue gun and I put them back on the windows myself.

    The only thing was when I called to get the window stickers and the sign, the rep said that they would come through the mail. And she started to process the order. But I told her I was going away and I would not be here if they came. When I got home and called back, the guy I spoke with said they already processed the order for me and I’ve gotten my free signs and everything. I told him I didn’t because we canceled it. So he agreed to waive the charges for everything. And I only got one set. I never got two sets of window stickers.

    Also, as long as I’ve had the service, I will get a letter telling me that the rates are going up. The rates never went up. But they went up the year before last year, and I did not get any notice. When it came showing the automatic draft on it, it was a new amount. But I didn’t get an email the latest time around on that. Other than that, I would tell my friends that MONI is an excellent company and I would go to them rather than go to ADT, even though ADT is here in town. And I know somebody who works there and apparently, their rates go up all the time.

I was told that "All remaining months in the contract is still due. You have the right to cancel your contract but you have to pay the balance up front." After telling them this is UNACCEPTABLE, they offered for me to pay 80% back of the FULL contract. My Advise: NEVER USE THIS COMPANY, NEVER SIGN ANYTHING WITH THEM UNLESS YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY SURE YOUR LIFE WILL NOT CHANGE. News Flash... We are humans not robots and life happens.

    First, let me say I signed a 5 year contract with this company. I didn’t realize I had until later, but thought, I plan to stay here, so no problem. Wrong, never sign a 5 year contract with anybody in security. First problem was while we were on vacation. Our son was at the house and the alarm malfunctioned and actually called the cops to the residence. He was leaving for college in a few days and we asked Moni to address it quickly due to them needing someone there. They couldn’t get someone there and our recourse was to shut the system off for 10 days til we got back from vacation. Very unacceptable. Sometimes, I, as a client, need someone to go extra lengths for a situation. I found out this was not THAT company.

    Oh, and the camera they installed quit working after a few months. They eventually sent a tech out to get it right. After 3 or 4 hours and still couldn’t get it to work, I told him to call it good and disappear as I had things to do. SAVE yourself some MONEY, and get an electrician to put in a nice camera setup from Costco or Best Buy. You’ll be happier in the long run. So, we moved from Phoenix to Florida, Moni says no problem, when you get your house built, call us and we’ll hook you up. In the meantime, we’ll suspend your payments until then. House build takes approximately 9 to 10 months, but they changed what they told us and started demanding payment for services we weren’t getting after 4 months. After hours of phone calls every month arguing what they had originally said, we started paying monthly in October since we were close to closing.

    Didn’t close til December. By now, we were thoroughly disgusted with this company and asked if they had a buyout of the remaining 2 years of our contract. NO EARLY TERMINATION. Even if you want out due to finding out you are working with a company that can’t deliver, it will cost you full price. Bottom line, stay away from MONI or MONITRONICS or whatever their name is. I’m sure there will be some sort of company “oh, we’re sorry you weren’t happy and we’ll try to fix it” after this review. Don’t believe it, I’ve had the phone calls that say otherwise.

    This is an absolute terrible company to deal with and the customer service is abysmal. I initially signed up for service in Houston, Texas and everything was okay for two and a half years. Then my family had an opportunity to move to Seattle, Washington and signed up for the contract extension as part of the move process thinking everything would be fine. When I signed up for the move plan I was told I have an allowance for new equipment for our new home. I was asked what new equipment I would need for our new home. Having almost no knowledge about home security systems and what the new home would require, I told them I did not know. The customer service representative said that’s fine and after the technician comes out and installs the equipment I have, the technician would then make recommendations and we would go from there.

    The technician comes out and installs the equipment we have, added a couple of extra sensors he had with him. This occurred around September or October 2016. I called about the recommendations of the technician around January 2017. I was told by the customer service representative that they would not honor the equipment allowance and it was my fault since I waited so long that I would have to pay for additional equipment. So it was my fault that I was traveling back and forth from Houston to Seattle to get my family settled, getting situated in a new home, getting our old house ready to be sold, starting a new business, and on top of that having our first family holidays in a new city took priority to getting new alarm equipment that I thought was part of the agreement.

    It took me the better part of a year to get a copy of the new extension that I agreed to. I specifically called about getting a copy of the agreement at least 4 times before finally getting a copy. Monitronics is not able to provide you with an email copy right away, it must be mailed and that must be done by another department and will take up to 10 business days. After the final request I did receive a copy. I expected to see terms of the new equipment and some terms in regards to the service they were to provide. All the agreement states is they will charge a monthly fee for the 12 months.

    As if all this were not bad enough, after another month goes by my alarm system will not arm. I have to be honest dealing with the customer service department is an absolute horrible experience and I absolutely dread having to call them. So at this point I have an alarm system that does not secure my entire home and a system that I can not arm. I have asked the customer service representatives and supposedly managers about if they are required to provide a working alarm system as part of their agreement. I have one representative flat out tell me no and I had a manager tell me that they consider the system working because the main panel is working.

    After over a year of a non working alarm system, countless calls, and a loss of any faith in Monitronics to do anything, they now offer to send a technician to look at the alarm system. They have offered nothing in regards to the last year of non working alarm system, even though they have collected their fees without fail. With a mere four months left on my contract, Monitronics is now willing to forgive two months of service fees. Please be advised of this company’s practices and how their customer service representatives actually treat customers that want them to actually provide their service and be held up to their word.

    I just moved down here and I have a new job, which was in the car travel. I just thought it would be a good idea to have a security system. The salesperson from MONI came in and showed me the video doorbell. I thought that's a great idea because I do have packages to live with. That's worked out great because when I get a package delivered I can call my family here and say, "Hey can you stop by and also grab that package?" So that helps a little bit.

    MONI is a little more expensive to me but it just seemed better. The salesperson sold me good but I wasn't terribly happy with the company that used to do the install. The gentleman wasn't that great. I still have problems every now and again like the fire alarms keeps going out. I don't know if it's my network system so I do have to follow up on it.

    I'm home for a while but I do a lot of travelling. That's one of the big reasons I got the system and once I start traveling again I will be contacting, trying to figure out how to get some of the little issues that I have fixed. So although the installation team did a good job I've seen better. But MONI answered my questions at the time. I like the features like the video doorbell, which looks really nice. I also liked the control panel and the smoke detector. But I've had some trouble with my in-house network system. I know it's hooked up on Wi-Fi. It gets disconnected every now and again but it does reconnect so far on its own. I have to connect to them the issue. But the front doorbells worked great. Everything else really worked good too.

    I use the app but I don't have a lot of features other than the doorbell. It is nice when they get a text message when I know when somebody's been at the door if I'm not in town. The video is clear. But I'm finding it expensive as I'm learning about more systems. I contacted MONI directly one time because I didn't hear from the person that did the install and the techs there were great. He made me solve the issue really quickly.

    After reading the reviews I was a little nervous about calling. I've had Moni a little over a year. The first tech that came out I wasn't happy with. He came out again wasn't happy with him then my battery died. I finally called to cancel but the guy was so pleasant. Transferred me to a manager that was also very pleasant. Waived my fee to fix what the previous tech had done then a new tech called to schedule an appt to come out. He was very pleasant as well. Don't remember the names but I'm Adreanna **. I called from Fresno between 10 and 12. I would really like to give all three of these guys kudos???? I didn't give 5 stars 'cause the call wait was about 45min. I will update my installation stars once the new tech comes out.

    MONI's price was a little lower than what I was paying with ADT. I switched to them and it was Monitronics when I did it then. They use the same equipment but it was just on the doors, and we added the things to the windows. The only problem I've had, which is not MONI's fault, is on the little keypads. My husband’s fingers are too big and sometimes he will hit the alarm and make it go off, and it embarrasses me.

    We live in an area that is very unsafe and there’s a lot of what we call tweakers around so we needed a security system. MONI Home Security was awesome and the installer was very friendly. His mannerisms were very respectful and he was great. We have a store a couple of blocks away and one time when we were closing it down, I got a call that our alarm was going off. We jumped into the car and broke all speed records going to our house. My partner went in and disabled the alarm. He searched everywhere but there was nothing. Everything was as tight and buttoned up as what we had left. I stayed on the line with the dispatcher and I told her that everything was fine.

    When we were back to the store to finish closing down, the dispatcher called again. I went home and I looked around the house. I looked up at the ceiling and there was a helium balloon floating and its string was the one setting the alarm off. Whenever the furnace turned on or the stove turned on, the blower would blow the balloon up. So, I am very impressed with the quick response MONI had. They’re really good and we feel very safe. I recommend them all the time.

I've updated my system to a wireless one and the guy who came to do it was really nice and very helpful. He showed me how to use its new features. I get to use the phone app and it’s really self-explanatory. Lowering their rates would be good but even though they don't drop their rate, when they say they're going to give something, they give it. I would totally recommend them.

    We’re fairly secure where we live but we purchased MONI Security because we’re senior adults and for the protection that it gave us for emergencies and fire. Their cost was less per month over other providers. The service person was very clear in explaining how the system worked, how to set it and how to get it to our specifications. We talked about the best place to put the console and he covered everything really well.

    We had trouble with the smoke alarm going off too frequently. We had some dialogue with the customer service team to get a new battery and clean the sensor. It took a little while back and forth to get the system reset. It was a positive experience and they were able to diagnose what we needed to do on our end to keep it from having to be a service call.

    Then we had one real emergency call when I was away from home. My wife was there but she didn’t know exactly how to turn it off. It was out of the ordinary but we got that worked out. We found out that MONI Security works well and the fire department responded when needed. MONI Security is a very secure system and it did what it was advertised to do. Also, the service people were very responsive and the call is made very quickly when there is an emergency.

    I've got a similar issue. We signed with another company for 2 years after contract was up. We signed what we thought was another 2 year contract, then after Moni bought them we were told it was a 5 year contract. Not sure where the disconnect was. Either way, about 3 years in, we sold our house and my wife was told cancellation was not a problem.

    After cancelling and moving, we continued to be billed for service and when my wife called she was told we can't cancel since we're under contract. The only option was to transfer service, but we don't even have cable, satellite, Wi-Fi, anything available at our new house and the main reason we renewed our contract to begin with was for the use of cameras and mobile access to them. We also have a privacy fence and gate around the entire property with lots of large dogs & no need for a simple alarm system.

    However, after making several calls to MONI asking why we were told we could cancel, they continued to tell my wife she never signed the paperwork so we were responsible to pay the 4 or 5 months since canceling and continue to pay for another 2 years at $65 a month even though we don't have the service. They also continue to send bills and harass my wife calling her 4 times every single day. After reading the seemingly helpful comments from Moni on Facebook to other unhappy clients like me, I decided to call myself. When I asked why we were told we could cancel, I was first told my wife didn't sign the paperwork but I had the DocuSign screen capture to prove it. Then I was told I "have the right to cancel, but you're still under contract."

    She told me they could provide me with $1500 worth of equipment to continue in contract. I suggested they keep the equipment and that's almost exactly equivalent to me paying $65 a month for the 23 more remaining months of my contract, but the person I spoke with firmly told me that was not an option and shut down every other objection and question I had as well. After she continued to speak over me and interrupt me I got frustrated and I finally told her that if she wasn't willing to work with me, and if she has the authority to say that's the final call, I would make sure I shared this experience with everyone I can. Her response was "you have that right, but make sure you explain that you're under contract".

    I can't imagine how a company would want to remind me 4 times a day how awful their business practices are, and would want me to pay $65 a month for their product I no longer have any use for after making it sound like cancellation was no problem due to our circumstances. I have NEVER posted anything negative about any company, anywhere until now. It makes me wonder why there's no option to review Moni on Facebook. I'm extremely unhappy with this situation and if I should ever have security monitoring needs again this is the very last company I would consider. Total lack of customer service and extremely rude lady I talked to. I don't know if the admins responding on these claims are truly being helpful or if it's more false PR, but this account is my last offer to Moni to redeem themselves.

    UPDATE: If anyone happens to be interested, after going back and forth on this issue today this is what they came up with. You can clearly see they "never want to make cancelling service an unpleasant experience"! The "past due" amount is the accrued charges since the day we cancelled this garbage service. Take note that the language at the end of the first paragraph is misleading/ confusing. What it actually means is that our cancellation is effective only in keeping us from being continually charged after the end of the contract schedule. Also, my wife was told the DocuSign was being sent over to effectively cancel service since we were MOVING - and in the midst of all the chaos that comes with moving she may have signed something other than what they said they were sending us.

    This appears to be a common practice for them, like when they turned our "2 year" agreement into a 5 year contract. PLEASE DO NOT BUY THESE BOGUS PR FACEBOOK COMMENTS ABOUT THEM BEING SO EAGER TO MAKE CANCELLATION A pleasant experience. After speaking to so many different representatives, I am convinced at this point that MONI as a company is uninterested in customer satisfaction. We were duped into a contract 2.5 times longer than we were told, then sent yet another contract that was other than what we were told (I know, fool me twice shame on me), and now they want us to continue to pay this ridiculous amount for unrendered, un-needed service. WORST COMPANY TO DEAL WITH EVER!!!

    Response from MONI: "It was a pleasure speaking with you today, attached is the copy of your alarm agreement and letter sent that explained that the contract will not close until the contract end date. We have received your cancellation letter via DocuSign which has set the account to cancel at the end of the contract term to avoid changing to a month to month renewal term. In our call today, the buyout amount was presented to you in the amount of $1797.60 (22 months remaining as of today x monthly bill $60.42 = $1329.24 + past due balance $468.36 =$1797.60). The first offer was to transfer the service to your new home but was declined which then the final offer was given to discount 20% ($359.52) off of the buyout amount.

    You are responsible $1438.08 and the account will close once that payment has been received. To some that buyout amount may be too high to pay all at once so we are willing to apply the credit of $359.52 towards the current balance which leaves the balance at $108.84 to pay and the remaining time on the contract will continue to be billed monthly until service ends on 11/17/2019. You have asked to call back once you have spoken to your husband, so there were no changes made to your account. Your account is currently still 180+ days past due so please contact me as soon as you can about your decision for this account. Feel free to reach me M-F 8AM-4:30 PM Central Time. Thank you."

    I used a different security provider before and MONI is a little cheaper so I went with them. The installation crew was great. They came out, looked out what existing system there was, and gave me an option on what I can get with them and what they’re going to add. The system is user-friendly. Most of the time, I had some issues with it but I called the service tech and they told me how to straighten it out and it was fine.     I purchased a home security system in about 1996 to help my friend who was selling MONI home security at the time. I was living in Georgia then I had to move several times but I've never had any problems with them as they have always come and installed it for free. They’ve also upgraded my equipment when I moved in 2014. Having a home security is real good. I’ve only been broken into one time and that was when I was in Georgia. When the bad people stuck their hand in, the motion detector went off and they didn't get in. Also, MONI representatives would call real soon if the alarm goes off. MONI is great, not expensive, and they come.     We bought a model and there was a security system attached to it. So, everything was wired for it and all we had to do was renew it. Our MONI system is working well, and we’ve not had any problems since we’ve had it. We've upgraded it to include our garage door and some window breaking.     I had Guardian, but where I lived, the closest police department does not respond to us. We are outside city limits. So, our police department was a good 45 minutes away. But then they passed an ordinance that when something emergency comes up, the closest police department is allowed to respond. Because of that, I went ahead with MONI, and it's very good so far. The ones who come out to the house to install the service were pleasant. I had a couple of little issues but they came right out. And it's been good ever since. With MONI, I feel very safe. I was a little leery about the glass breaker but that's okay because I know the glass has got to be literally be broken for it to sound off. So, that's all good. Once that sunk in, I understood it better. I've already recommended them.

And then someone came and talked us to take out the system of MONI and put another one in but that system never worked at all. We were about a week and a half without a system at all.     We worked with another security provider and they weren't performing. And then, we had somebody from Moni come to the door and were selling in the neighborhood so we opted in. Moni has some features that I like and some that I don't. There are features that I'm seeing now that I wished we had. Maybe there's some day they can do an upgrade to the system that allows for those types of things. There isn't an instant setting to where if you open any door, any window, that the alarm would signal instantly. In the old security system we had that. That one feature is something that is lacking with Moni. If somebody is to walk in in the middle of the night, they have 45 seconds before the alarm goes off. That doesn't make sense.

    I've been able to call on a service tech for minor stuff and they walked me through. One time, the screen was locked to where it wouldn't give me an updated reading or temperatures. Once they did that, they got it set and it's been good. It's a good system though it's about $15 a month more than what I was paying. We have recommended it to a couple of people already.

    I'm so frustrated, I tried cancelling my services, due to my circumstances, I have to move into a family members house. The rep said my family member should order MONI services at their house, umm no. I've completed 18 months out of 36. I asked what percentage I would owe and they said, "All remaining months in the contract. You have the right to cancel your contract but you have to pay the balance up front." What sucks is that I still have to cancel regardless, so I'm stuck with all the remaining balance. I will never use this company again. I will advise all of my friends to never use this company.

    I have been an extremely dissatisfied Monitronics customer. We have been under contract for 2 years with Monitronics and during the contract, we speak to a switchboard when there is an issue. The calls take forever and the technician on the phone isn't able to fix the issue. For a fee, they send out a technician but that is another nightmare to schedule.

    I called to cancel our service after our contract was up and have been on the phone for over an hour and a half trying to cancel a service that we aren't even in a contract for any longer. They are the biggest talkers about making it right... Yet they won't listen to the customer. Today is the 2nd of January, our alarm hasn't worked for 1 1/2 wks and even with canceling today, they are requiring me to pay for the month of January. Absolutely the WORST customer service I have ever come across. If you are thinking about using them... DON'T! Use a small alarm company that knows what customer service is all about.

    Do not do business with Moni. Worst experience and customer service I have ever encountered. I have two alarm notification issues and they are telling me they will walk ME through how to fix it. REALLY? Or, they can send a technician to my house for an additional cost. What am I paying for? What if something breaks - I'd be liable. What the heck! I'm not touching this equipment. I was on the phone for 1 hour and a half with NO RESOLUTION. I was told by Kayla that Tshombie, her manager, would have to resolve within 24-48 hours and he couldn't talk to me because he was on the phone with OTHER customers and there were hundreds in the queue. Wow.

    I have been a loyal customer for 4 years and this is the thanks I get. I have a SET amount that I pay monthly; however, Moni will try to raise the rate and not tell you and when you call to inquire about the increase, they will tell you they will lower it BUT you have to extend your contract. Does Jeffery Gardner, the CEO and President know all this is going on? It seems the representatives HAVE to make a contract extension for incentive purposes.

    When attempting to cancel the service, staff personnel state they can't. They give various reasons why, and dump you back into a long wait cue. When you get another person, they say the same thing. Basically, they retain accounts by refusing to cancel the service. They use dishonest business practices. Avoid MONI or you will be sorry.

    We were with Counterforce who didn't seem to do anything. When MONI's sales reps came one summer day, we were impressed with what they would do for us and that they would pay to get us out the contract with Counterforce. We had some minor problem with billing with MONI though, because apparently, my husband made a mistake and put something on check so the check bounced. Our checks needed another zero in it for Canada and two-three times, that didn't happen. So they sorted that out. But next month, the same thing happened. So I phoned in again and spoke to somebody else. They didn't know anything about what had transcribed before until he went into the account and saw some notes. So, nobody passed on information. This happened three times but it was straightened out immediately as soon as I phoned.

    We're a bit better with MONI now as we were a bit frustrated for a while because the smoke alarm went off twice because my oven got too smoky inside. But, it barely went off before. We didn't got a chance to shut it off and system and said we were okay before they were phoning my neighbor which upset us. I was only in the kitchen which was a very short few steps to the front door yet they didn't give us enough time to get there. That happened twice and the fire department came the next time. So, I sent in a note about that and nothing’s gone off since then. Other than that, they were really good and on the whole, we are totally satisfied with MONI. We have a small house and everything's good. We have enough features from MONI.

    My mother in law, Constance **, is 90 years old, gets very confused and is easily controllable. We have a long standing policy that she cannot meet with salesmen, unless one of her kids is there. She has signed many contracts prior to that, just to get the salesperson to go away. A Moni rep showed up about a year ago. Constance thought she was getting an update on an existing system, not Moni. Her system was replaced and she ended up signing a contract. She has been trying to get out of it, to no avail. I have called Moni several times and just not happy with the dance I keep getting. Bottom line is they are not willing to fully cancel until she pays in full for the whole contract. DO NOT GO WITH MONI.

    A couple of times in the last year the security system went off and when we called MONI Home Automation they walked us through the changing of the battery upstairs. We also had to change the battery in the small box on the wall so they sent complete instructions on the internet, which we've kept. The whole security box system is more complicated than it should be. I'm for simplicity and we had to jump through loops to get some of the things done especially when they say we've got to change our battery because it's beeping and we have no idea why our machine is going off until we call them.

    We've only seen the technical team once and that was when they changed over from this other company, came in and installed a different kind of box. They were nice and I've never had any problem with people that are coming in the house. MONI security system doesn't go off like my son's or son-in-law's as often as theirs. I anticipate there could be more problems because as the city grows and the number of people increased, the chances increased. We have a good security system in the subdivision but that's not a guarantee. They could be on the other side when something happens on your side. The only time we've ever had a security problem was when our neighbors called and said they smelled gas in our backyard and it turned up that it was our gas box. Maybe people cut the grass and hit it. I'm glad I've got MONI.

    MONI costs less money than ADT, but we were also surprised with the professionalism of both the tech that came here and the people on the phone. The tech changed some things and we took the opportunity to add more sensors. He was very professional. Also, customer service has been wonderful.     The sales rep from MONI was a good friend of ours. We picked the features that we wanted and could afford. Their staff was pleasant and prompt. They got the job done and everything works fine except for the door monitors that doesn't work for the last six months. When I contacted them about it, they told me I needed to replace the sensor which I did but the monitors gave up. On the other hand, I have the smartphone app which I love. Everything's good with MONI and having them has definitely taken away some of the edge.

    I had a good experience with MONI Security. It’s just that when I did my payment, they wrote me a letter saying that it was not paid. I told the lady that I spoke with to see what that was because that could cost me a late fee of $35. She said she remembered taking my payment. I made sure I paid on time so I was really disappointed that I got that letter because my money is budgeted. I have $76 left but I had another bill to pay. So I gave them my checking account number and they gave me a confirmation. I thought that was it but they put in the wrong number. Also, I only have the alarm system which they installed well. But then, when I called back they told me I didn't have an alarm system. They got it right eventually so I'm pleased with it. Everything's okay with calling and talking to them.

    We had AT&T and Protection "None" as my friends joked around. Now we have MONI Home Automation and we like it. Every once in a while I'll shut it down and I will do a test on that. I always make sure everything's working. Their team will notify us if something is going on otherwise, it will notify if there is an alarm that goes off. They notified my son which we decided to live from us so in case we're not home,he takes over for us. But I don't know if they don't look at the dates that we give them because we were home and they called my son. Of course, my son couldn't answer and we didn't get a call so the police were out here. And then we got a letter from the police apparently telling us, one more time and then they're going to charge us. They need to call my husband and I before they call anybody else when we're home. But otherwise we're fine.

    The only problem we have was the garage door at the center out in the garage. When it goes off with the wind, it kept on turning on and cops would come over. One time we had a pane in the windows put in and I had five cop cars. When they turned around and told them that we were testing it out and we put new things in the window, they were supposed to shut it off until 5:30 at night. I opened the door and there was a cop with a gun pointed at me. Someone turned it back on and they said the silent alarm was going off. It was a silent alarm.

    Also my wife was a little upset when the price went up and we were not notified. We also wish we could pay them with less money. In addition, we didn't know that they had cameras that go to the house because we purchased our own. We have Nest which allows us to look on our phone and know who's at the front door, who comes in the side door and if anybody's in the patio. Other than that MONI is really good.

    My uncle had the security system from MONI and he was good with it so I figured to give it a try. It was fairly simple getting a hold of someone and the installation was quick and painless. I have quite a few things from them with the doorbell camera being one of my favorite ones. We've tested the system out and the alarm goes off when it's supposed to, so that's good. MONI's customer service has been great. If there was anything that has gone wrong, I give them a call and they would fix or replace whatever's messed up. Their price's pretty fair compared to other brands. Then as time came along, they offered me upgrades for free and gave me additional stuff. I've had them for a while now, so I'm definitely going to stick with them.

    So far, MONI has been a very satisfactory system. They saved us in a few situations like a fire and a couple of burglars. We have not had any problems with them that's why we've kept using them. When we had a battery related issue, I called their reps and they walked me through the process. Also, there were motion sensors that I had never touched before and I wasn't sure how to go about doing that. They also helped me with that. But it would be nice to have a key fob that we could use in the bedroom in case we're in bed and somebody breaks through. We would like to have something in our hands that we could just press.

    MONI Home Automation is a good system, and I have no complaints about it. I purchased their home security system for my second home, and while I have a different system at my primary residence, which is five hours away, I like that I can alarm and dis-alarm MONI's system remotely. I needed to be able to do that down there because some people come in once a month for bugs spraying. In addition, their representatives are right on point. They're very quick to respond and they know what they're talking about.

    One time, the battery went down and once I have the key with me to get in, they explained to me how to change the batteries. They walked me through it and it's very, very efficient. I didn't need to call the other guy who installed it since I was able to do it myself. Meanwhile, the installer was really good and he knows what he's doing. He has been a regional manager for ADT and moved down to Myrtle Beach. Since he couldn't find a job, he started his own service. Overall, I have nothing but praise for MONI's people. They are efficient and responsive. I would clearly recommend them to a friend.

    I was a first-time home buyer. We didn't have a doorbell or a peephole and MONI was the first people that came to the house and we felt like we should use the system. The sales rep was very knowledgeable. He was funny and he really caught our attention. He presented it well. He came on every promise that he made so everything worked out fine.

    But the installation team didn't do too well. They were drilling in the wrong place so they put a hole in my wall. Then they didn't fix it so I had to call and ask them if they could send somebody out to fix it. They did and they botched the job so it's still like it was. But other than that everything’s about right. I like the features. The response time is a lot slower than I had planned as far as when I press the button. When I get the notice on my phone there seems to be a 15-second lag from when I press the button. Then they'll be standing there before I get the notification. But other than that I really enjoyed it.

    Overall the smartphone features was good. The call back time if the alarm goes off is great. They call immediately and make sure everything is fine and that's the biggest part. Everything is fine. It's a little tough to be locked in with a contract for 5 years but the cost is not bad. I would definitely point out the lag from the button to the phone. But other than that I would recommend it. It's a great tool for when you're away to keep the house safe.

    I have been incredibly disappointed with Monitronics' (now Moni Smart Security) customer service. My system was outdated and didn't work properly, customer service was unhelpful and sent me to other departments that were unavailable. When trying to cancel the service, I again got the runaround and was charged several more months after attempting to cancel. Very poor communication, poor follow through and difficult to cancel. I will never use them again.

    We started out with Volunteer and we have been with them for a long time. Now, we got Moni Home Security. I called them and I got the update when the power and the screen went off. I wondered if I had a backup, and they told me to touch the screen which I did, and it came on. It’s got a battery in it and they said that it goes off to save the battery. Also, I had an upgrade a few months back and I was very satisfied with the installers. Moni was also quick to respond when I had a false alarm and within a minute, they called.     I've been having alarm system for the last 10 years and it was originally set up by a local company Pinnacle Alarm and then they went out and the next thing I know MONI is the one that is monitoring the system. And then a few months ago I got to thinking there's a lot of us old customers, that we have old systems and nothing's ever been extended to us in the way of upgrades or anything. So I called MONI and asked them, "Do you not care about your old customers? Do you not have upgrades? I know that there's such a thing as a SkyBell now that's available and other things." So I asked for an upgrade and that's all I've done recently is ask for that upgrade, which was accomplished probably within the last month.

    I was a little disappointed because the technicians that came out to do the upgrade lacked some kind of an adapter for the SkyBell. So about 10 days went by and they finally got the adapter in. And another local technician from Lubbock came out to install the SkyBell and it took him almost four hours just on the SkyBell because we had an issue with it not being compatible with the doorbell I had. The doorbell I had was working great. I've had it for years. But they told me that I had to have a mechanical doorbell and not a digital doorbell.

    So I went ahead and I bought a mechanical doorbell and I called the MONI back and told them I had the doorbell and they send those people out to install it. And they came out because they had left the thing disconnected because I had like a West Minister chime on my old doorbell and every time you rang it, it just would send an alarm over and over and over.

    When they came out at my request to connect it the first thing out of his mouth was, "I'm sorry, we don't install doorbells." So I had to call his boss and find out what was going on, and he said, "Yeah, we don't install doorbells." I asked if that was a common occurence and he said yes and that the last seven installs they've had six of them were not compatible with the customer's doorbell. I asked if MONI was aware of it and they said apparently not. So MONI needs to be aware that on upgrades or installs the doorbell must be a $10 mechanical doorbell and not some fancy thing like the one most of us have. That last experience of the upgrade I certainly have told a number of people that I wasn't too pleased but I've been very happy with the monitoring and everything all these 10 years.

People from MONI and polite, very nice, and considerate. They are also very prompt in calling me when I accidentally opened the door, or if I didn’t cut the alarm off. Right now, I’m paying for two securities and I’ve got one more year with my other provider. So, I’ve been paying them each month like I normally would.     On 11/03/2017 I called Monitronics and requested that my account be canceled due to I was having a new system installed by Xfinity. I was advised that my account would be canceled. While reviewing my bank account today 12/20/2017 I see a charge from Monitronics for security monitoring. I called customer support and was advised that they had my request to cancel that was done on 11/03/2017, however they had not received the forms back for them to cancel my account. They advised me that they sent me an email on 11/04/2017 to e-sign to have my account canceled. I advised that I did not remember receiving an email from them. Alexa advised me that the email was sent on that day but she would be happy to send me another email. I asked that she do that and then asked about the charges that were paid for services they did not give.

    She said that I would be responsible for the charges until they get the forms back. She said the email would take up to 24 hours to get to me and then it could take up to 30 days to cancel my account. Which means another bill for services not rendered. I asked that these plus any other charges be removed from my account since they are charging me for fraudulent charges since I no longer have the phone number they have nor do I have their security system. I was told they could not do that.

    I have filed with the Texas BBB a complaint. I asked to speak to someone above Alexa who kept interrupting me while I was talking, I was told she was the account manager and there was no one else. I intend to file as many complaints as it takes to stop the billing and get my money back they stole! Even if I have to cancel the bank account I have and open a new one they will not get another month of fees from me. DIRTY BUSINESS! Consumer beware!

    I have MONI's basic set up and I like that I'm able to use the app to turn the security system on and off from a distance. When I called customer service about a problem, they handled it the best way they can, but it was a little disappointing. Also, when the installer first came out, he didn't tell me anything about the specials. So when I found out about it, I called MONI but no one was able to help me. I really felt that I could have been serviced a little better and I didn’t know I was signed in a long contract.

    I was a law enforcer in an area that was starting to have a high number of break-ins in the neighborhood and my house was burglarized twice. And we had a homemade security system for monitoring and it would set out an alarm that the neighbors would hear but, a thief would also have known it. So, when MONI's rep, Vanessa, was going around advertising their system, we gave it a try and, so far, I’ve been well pleased with it. The installer seemed very helpful, and he told us to call if we had any problems. It didn’t take as long as I thought it was going to take for him to install the system, I didn’t see any wires hanging out and he didn’t mess up anything.

    We had done an upgrade and I signed another contract for three years. The equipment is simple and easy to use. The smartphone features are good. I like that when I’m away from home and the system picks up a motion, it alarms me right away. When I leave home and my wife's still in bed sleeping, I turn the system on and I’ll know when she’s up because it alerts me so I'll know when I can turn it off. Sometimes I have a hard time turning the system off but it might be my WIFI in our area. Also, sometimes it says it’s offline. So I’ll wait a few minutes and I log out and log back on and then it will be up. It doesn’t take long which is good, but when the motion goes off, it only records for 10 seconds. I wish it had a little bit more record time but when it does that, it gives me time to turn my system on and I can manually record and see everything that goes on.

    Everyone I dealt with at MONI has been excellent so far. And when I'll recommend someone, MONI is also going to send me $100. I’ve already told one of my friends about MONI and he switched over from ADT. My sister also has ADT and she doesn’t have the cameras, but I was talking to her and she was thinking about switching over to MONI.

    I’ve been hearing about some home breakdowns in my neighborhood, and I’ve had that happened to me once when I was younger. I came home from school and I found somebody in my house that shouldn’t have been. It was not too fun. I am grateful that I had MONI when my swamp cooler switch shorted out because I didn’t have any idea how to put it out and I didn’t have a fire extinguisher at the time either. The security system detected the smoke. MONI called me right away and called the Fire Department for me. Luckily, it just melted the two switches and it didn’t go any further than that.     My husband had passed away and I wanted more comfort at night knowing that I was going to be okay so I got MONI Security. The initial installation was perfect and professional. Their techs were trained well and know what they're doing. They tend to find problems and resolve them quickly. A gentleman came to my house six weeks ago and he was outstanding. While we were having the hurricane, something went wrong with my box. He took care of the problem immediately and left. He was very polite, professional and respectful. He did a fabulous job. They also have the authority to make changes as they help. However, I had a new girl yesterday and she was unable to help me. MONI should listen in on telephone calls to see how the newer staff members project themselves and how they tend to the problems of the consumer. But generally, their customer service has been fine.

    Two months ago, I spoke to a woman about my bill. I told her that spending $46.46 a month was a little too expensive and I asked if she could help me lower it somehow. She took care of it and gave me $10 less for three months, which made my bill amount to $36.02. I paid that, however, I was billed $38 the following month. Then this month I was billed $41.90. I called and I said that I'd be looking for another security system. I can't justify spending $46.46 a month for security. I've given them three months. This December will be the fifth month and if by January, they're not able to do something, I will definitely switch over. I'd recommend them but they need to keep their word when they say they're going to do something with pricing. The equipment is wonderful, it's just keeping their word.

    I’m happy with MONI. Everything that I need is on that alarm. It’s good for what I’m paying. I have a motion sensor in my backroom and a sensor on both doors. I also have a camera in the living room and a camera on the front porch. The guy who came out and installed it did a really good job. I called him once because I lost my keyfob, and the guy on the phone helped me through that when I got the keyfob and we had to reprogram it.

    With the system being hard wired to my phone, I get access to the fire department, police department and the security. So I feel good about that. My neighborhood is getting a lot of break-ins and it wasn’t years ago. I work in the evenings, so I can sit any time I want to see what’s going on in my living room. When anybody is knocking at the front door, I can see him on my smart phone. So it helps me puts a lot of ease. We talked to our friend about MONI but her husband went with AT&T. He already got it before I got to talk to her about MONI but I got the better deal because mine is lesser money. However, I always wonder if somebody broke down the door and came in and supposing they went over there and rip that out of the wall, would it still be going off?

    We like MONI more than our previous home security system. The installation was easier and we liked that we could get the system wirelessly. I like the feature of being able to interact with them straight from the keypad. If there is a door or a window that we haven’t opened in a long time and we go and open it, we get a notification letting us know that it was opened. So I like that feature because if somebody just wants to randomly open it even from the outside, then we would get a notification. It’s something that I haven’t heard of too much in another system.

    We’ve been with MONI for quite a while and their customer service is easy any time that we call them. We’ve had additional keypads put in and it was really simple to get them to come out and do that. Also, the price is fair for what we get. We’re paying a little more than we were before, but I like everything that we’re getting from it. My sister was just shopping a few weeks ago and I told her that I would definitely recommend MONI to another person. I told her that I’ve never had any issues with getting a hold of them or getting any of our issues resolved.

    MONI was the best available security company at the particular time. I’ve spoken with their customer service a few months ago and they were very helpful with what I needed to know. I replaced the locks because there was one that was a defect, and when I talked to them a few months ago, they told me I had to get in touch with the company, which I did, and they replaced the locks. But I have a problem trying to get in touch with the people that installed the locks. I can’t seem to get in touch with anyone because the numbers that they've given me just rings and rings. I was very frustrated. I was trying to find out how to program my locks and how to put the codes, like in my living room, garage and backyard. But overall, I'm very satisfied with Moni. I get quick response. They've called very quickly whenever I’ve forgotten to turn off the alarm when I enter the home and whenever somebody went out my door and they didn’t wait until I turn the alarm on.

    I went through a divorce and it was kind of nasty. I had to move back into my home after I had my ex-husband evicted. My daughter thought that I needed security. She's with MONI and she thought it'd be good for me too. The system is great. It tells me when a window's out. I don't open windows that often but if my patio door or any door or any window's open I know it because the system tells me. Nobody's broken into my home yet, but the system will announce it and I like the idea. I like the way that my system is set up and I also like it when I call MONI. They are very professional. I'm treated with respect and courtesy. I had goofed up a couple of times and the alarm went off. They immediately called me.

    I've got one camera at the back and it does its job. One thing I didn't quite like was when I asked them what it would cost me to have two additional cameras put across the front porch, they quoted something and it jumped so high so I decided not to do that. I'd like to see more cameras included in my system for less than $149 a month. Right now I pay about $50 a month to have this and they take that much to open an account. I plan on adding other cameras and it probably won't be through MONI. I can go down to Home Depot and get some cameras. Other than that, I've been very happy with MONI and I've already told a couple of my friends about them.

    I'm out of the house a lot. I have weapons, some gold coins, and some old coins. I wanted to make sure they were protected in case somebody decided that they wanted to come in while I was out. MONI is fantastic. The alarm goes off and a couple of minutes later, I get a phone call. I give them the password and tell them, "Everything is okay," or "Call the cops. I'll be there in a little bit."

    When the top center on the front door fell off, the people whom I talked to were very helpful and very friendly. They knew what they were doing. They helped me fix it and helped me set the alarm back up to where it works. I've worked with some security companies and MONI is the most helpful that I've dealt with. They get things taken care of quickly.

    Our local security people here, who we like, use MONI to monitor. I did not have any problems with the company, and they are very well priced. One time, we were out of town and the alarm went off. It was in the middle of the night when somebody got to the phone and it was disconnected, so I called them back. They were very nice and they assured me that they had already contacted the police department and that everything will be fine. I feel very safe whether I'm home or far away. We had the security system before where we were at, and we just moved to our new location that's why we had a different security system.

    MONI came as a recommendation when we were not that pleased with the one who we had at first and it was also a little cheaper than what we had. When our home insurance company had asked about the security that we have for the home, I did a call and told them that they were really nice and it was maybe within 25 mins after I had talked to them that they emailed me the info I have requested. The only thing that I don't like is not knowing that it's going up - they got to do that on a draft. They do increase your bill without you knowing it. Nevertheless, I'm pleased with the service.

    When bought the house, we're looking to have a burglar alarm so the folks from MONI said they can provide that and so at the end they did. When we set it on, and when we go back in the house the first thing we do was get the right button and to keep it from going off. We were very satisfied with their staff.     My wife needs a security since we're elderly and I'm gone quite a bit. I was with ADT and when I called them before, they wouldn’t upgrade the system to what I wanted and said it wasn’t available in my area, but Monitronics did. When there was a notification on the monthly pricing, I called MONI to cancel and the guy asked what I wanted. I said I wanted cameras and some other things to upgrade my system and he said, that he could take care of that for me. He reduced the cost and sent me two Arlo cameras and I installed them. The MONI rep was upfront and honest and I felt good about him.

    I like their system and I set their smartphone features every night. However, I can’t add a device and program it myself to my system. I have to call a rep to come do it and pay them which I don’t like. Then if I set the alarm system down soon, they don’t call and tell me they got an alarm. I also have two thermostats here that I would like to be able to control with my system. If my wife and I are gone, I can’t turn them on or off. I have to turn it off and then when I get home, I have to turn them on or turn them down. Same with the air-conditioning this season, I turn them up when we leave. There’s no way that I can reset them to be able to come in to a comfortable home.

    I just called to cancel my contract, could not be more irritated. My very first security system was from Monitronics in 2006 or 2007, I had them until 2011 when I switched to another unnamed company. In 2013, I resigned with Moni (apparently a 5 year contract, my fault). I sold my house and moved into a rental, got permission to install their alarm system in this house. Paid out of pocket for some of the equipment, no big deal. Just a one year lease until I get into my new home.

    During the build, the builder had us lock in the prewire security system, this came with monitoring. When I called to cancel, I was told I would need to pay the remaining 18 months. I explained I would be coming back to them as soon as the 2 years required from the builder is over. After being placed on hold multiple times so they could figure out the exact amount owed for the buy out, I then spoke to a manager, I was given more a number that made no sense for the % price reduction they told me. I would have been going back to Monitronics had they treated a customer of almost 10 years better. They don't seem to understand that some things are out of your control and it is how you treat a person at that point that determines the future.

    We used to have ADT before switching to MONI, which we've had for 6 months now. MONI is a much higher, much better system technically and much more reasonable price. We like the system where we can talk to a person right there at the box, which is a capability we didn't have with our ADT system. Also, their representatives were very good in addressing an issue we had. We've had a problem with our box where it's been hard to punch the numbers and it doesn't always hit and then we end up setting off the alarm instead. The technicians who have come out were great and superior in terms of professionalism and demeanor. Overall, I would recommend MONI and it was worth the time to compare MONI with other's current system. I'd also tell them to give MONI a call.

    When I bought my house the MONI Security was already installed. I called them and said I was the new owner and if they want me to take over the account they need to bring me and install a brand new equipment for a security reasons. Because the old one could have been tempered by the previous owner. They agreed and asked me to sign the contract. I did. Then they sent someone to my house to check the equipment.

    I told that person that I requested brand new equipment. The technician said that someone was coming back to do it. Nobody came. And Moni started charging my account every month. I called them right away to say they did not do their part of the deal and I want my account cancelled. They refused to cancel stating that the contract was signed. After that I tried calling them at least three more times but never got anywhere with them. I'd like my account to be cancelled and my money refunded since they did not go through with their part of the deal. Very dishonest company. Stay away!!!

    I like the way everything looked online about MONI Security like its reviews. But when my smoke alarm quit working it took almost three weeks to get somebody out to replace it. My house was under construction so I really kind of think that some of the dust of the finishing built up. I paid for the extra warranty because I knew we were doing a construction project. I guess it wasn't a priority since it was a warranty job.

    I'm definitely not impressed with the response time for service when I paid for it to have somebody out the same day and install it. I run a business also so I could see you got to get on a schedule. It might take three or four days but multiple weeks without a fire alarm was not the main reason I put one of those in the house. Within the same week should be a reasonable time to ring. Over a month I had no smoke carbon monoxide detector. Not that that's a huge deal but you put these things in because you want protection. If there was a fire you want the kids out safe. But that's the only problem I've ever had. I just think they need to work on their service technicians a little bit.

    But their sales and customer service was very good at the time of install. The installation guy explained everything and was more than helpful to put things where you wanted them. And Monitronics have the best of the features that you could get. The products are great. It's probably the best thing to your buck. I switch to a local company,a town away from here and they're about double the price for the service charge as far as per month in turn.

    My sister referred me to MONI Security and for the six months I've been with them, they've been fine so far. I changed my password over the phone and the guy I talked to was super helpful. The team that came out was great as well. It was some other alarm which they said would be monitored through MONI. They don't usually do outside structures but they wired up our detached garage and didn't charge me extra. I like that they converted the monitor to ask if I needed assistance when the thing goes off. I'd recommend going with MONI. Their contract's five years long but it's cheaper than ADT.

    MONI offered a deal and I got their system for preventive measures. The installers were good and were done in a couple of hours. I like the remote arming of the system and that's good for me. With the camera, it tells me if something is activated within the times I have set. The quality service is okay too. I tried to change the battery one time and I set off the alarm and they called me for it. I'm happy with MONI and the service I'm getting for the features I have. But for the little bit of features that I have, the cost is a little bit high.

    I chose to purchase a home security system because I am out of town sometimes, and I’d like to know that the house is secure. MONI is a little bit more than what one of my friends has been paying for ADT, but I’m happy with the system. The installer seemed to be very professional. They knew what they were doing and they could answer my questions. Customer service was also very good. I had a problem with the system's battery, and MONI sent somebody who was very helpful and explained the system to me much better than when I had originally purchased it. I didn’t realize until the tech came for the batteries that there was an app that I could get for my phone where I could turn the system on and off from wherever I am. He got the app installed for me and I appreciated that.

    When I initially purchased it, I recommended MONI to a friend and she purchased it as well, and she’s been happy with it. She's had to have somebody come when she had a battery problem, and they sent somebody.     I already had a security system but it was wired. The MONI salespeople came to my door, talked about the wireless option and since they were there and the pricing was good, I went ahead and bought their system. The installers were very professional and the installation was quick and painless since they have the infrastructure from the other system in place already. They updated some of the sensors, updated the box and they added the fire alarm.

    Their reps contacted the fire department for us one night. It wasn't a fire but the fire alarm went off. I couldn't get the phone and tell them not to send them. We had a burglar alarm go off one night too when I was out of town. Other than just not being able to get any information back in terms of what the police found directly calling MONI, everything was handled well. I had to call the police and the sheriff's department myself to find out what they actually found when they went to the house. It's a fairly high cost for the service. But with the burglar alarm going off and the need to call the fire department, it was obviously worth it. It would have been more worth it had there actually been an emergency. But, they were quick and responsive. Also, it's easy to get on the website, track what kind of thing happened in terms of people opening doors. It's a good product.

    I moved into this place when it was new and thought about the possibility of an alarm system because I had seen people with signs out in front of their villa. Then there was a young man that came to my door, it was Monitronics at that time. He was polite and explained the service to me to my satisfaction. He answered my questions and told me what the monthly cost would be. I was surprised to find out that it was something that was so affordable. He left me with some materials and we set up a time for the installation which was fairly quick.

    The next day, a young man did the installation. He was very courteous and nice. I have an open floor plan and he put the alarm up on the ceiling. And then he placed the control panel on the wall at a convenient spot for me. He also didn't have to disturb picture that I had hanging on the wall. I pointed out all the places I wanted to have the sensors and I knew I didn't need one in the garage because the garages are aluminum and I figured that anybody who tries to break through the garage would raise attention. But I have a window there and the installer put a sensor there. He also put one on all the windows upstairs. I got the system the first few months after I moved in and it's been about five years now.

    The panel is easy to use and I was left with lots of good information. Their service has been dependable too. But I came up with the security word because one time I mishandled the alarm when I was setting it and I hit the wrong button. A voice came on and asked if everything was okay. I gave my security word and that was fine. Also, I got my basement window corrected and it's got two locks on it. I keep getting messages that there's a sensor missing. MONI sent it to me but I have to pay more if I want to have someone come in and install the sensor. I was pre-occupied that time though and the window was also stuck so I haven't been able to open it in order to put the sensor in. But I haven't been really too concerned about that since it was a place where somebody could get into.

    We're mostly senior citizens that live in this area and one lady from down the street saw my MONI sign that was out in front. She asked me about that and I told her that I was very happy with everything that transpired, that it was easy to set and it was pretty much foolproof. I gave it a good recommendation. The gentleman who lives in a standalone villa also has the same type of sign. A lot of us have the security system because we want to protect the contents of our place. I've been very satisfied with MONI and the system works all the time so it's been a positive experience so far. It has met all of my needs and I pay my bill every month. In the first year I moved in, my panel alerted me that there were tornado warnings and that was an unexpected feature.

    I had my own basic dial-up security system that called my phone directly in the event that anything breached my house. It was pretty good but I wanted to be a thousand percent sure that the system I have is kind of cellular so that if my phone line gets cut off, the system still works. I don't have any neighbors and my house is the only one on the street. MONI had good installers and the salesperson was the same but she tried to sell me shares in the company. Otherwise, MONI is better and I've been using them for three years.

    When I had an alarm go off and MONI called the Westport police and told them whatever it was, the cops didn't even show up. I called the cops and they said they didn't get any calls. So I had to call MONI and they got right back to me and mailed the information I needed right out. I had to bring it down here and show my friendly police station that they were wrong. Now they're even less friendly. MONI has been good so far though. The cost is fair and I've recommended them to a few people.

    I just moved in the neighborhood, I live alone and I’m always at work. Plus my daughter’s going to move with me in a couple of months. The MONI rep was in the neighborhood and he stopped by my house three to four times. He was really persistent to sell because when he came and cut me a price, I was just moving in. I told him I didn't want to deal with that then, and a couple of days later he came back and left his name and number. He came back again and cut me a price, but I didn't want to pay that much money for security. Then he cut me a price again and said I had to get it, and I said I would get it on my terms. I set up the plan, and then I started calling to cancel. He called me back and asked why I was cancelling, and I told him that the money was not working back then. He called his boss and got it to the price that I needed, so I was really pleased with that. There was another company, but his deal was better.

    MONI's customer service was excellent. Also, the technician was great. He was finished within 30 to 45 minutes, and he knew exactly what he was doing. I gave him a couple of suggestions where I wanted to put stuff and he adjusted. Now I can check in on my house from a phone anywhere I’m at. I always leave every morning a quarter to 6:00 to go to work, and every time I get there, the system alerts me if I forgot. So, I always set it from the house before I leave. I use it, it works for me and I’m safe right now. I’m thinking about getting cameras installed, but maybe for next year. I’m always trying to save money, so if MONI can cut me a good deal, I’m with it. I have no problem with them, and I'd recommend them to anyone.

    Our alarm box began beeping once a minute this morning; after not getting an answer twice by calling the number on the sticker, I looked it up online, called a different number, held far too long and was then told the low battery is my responsibility to replace. The authorized dealer isn't involved anymore. With almost three years left on the contract, their level of indifference that I'd been defrauded was astonishing. I called the security company who had first had our contract, who was amazed they hadn't at least offered to send out new stickers with the proper number. Everyone's "It not my job" at Monitronics was deafening.

    For home security, customer service should matter. I'm aghast, and disappointed, and will be seeking a way to get out of the contract. If it isn't possible, I can at least try to warn the rest of you: "Go back, it's a trap." If a salesman tells you something about Monitronics, they will not back that play. They will tell you they aren't responsible, and that they would charge for a call to fix anything. (Because if you've not ready the 38-page contract or whatever, you are the fool.) MONI is their new name. MONI...how kicky. Well, it's all sound a fury and signifies nothing. If I were old, or physically impaired, or on a fixed income, I would be up a creek with no redress. Meantime all I can do is warn you: don't go here. It's awful. Apathy from a customer service representative hurts.

    I am a victim of the 2016 flood in Louisiana, and my alarm system was badly damaged along with my home. Although I contacted Monitronics to stop deductions until my house could be rebuilt, I was rudely told that I had to continue to make payments since I signed their contract. (The contract is for their monitoring services, and my house was down to the studs.)

    Due to the loss and subsequent cancellation of my bank card, the deductions stopped... and the constant hounding began. I refused to provide new account information since no monitoring services were being provided yet, and told them they would be informed when the house was complete. The hounding was incessant.

    Around May or June of this year I was forced to hire an attorney since I have also become a victim of my insurance company and shoddy contractors. But the calls didn't stop. Instead, Monitronics is in the process of destroying my credit. I would give them 0 stars on customer service and value if I could, but please just trust me when I say it is in your best interests to find another monitoring service. A competent outside contractor did the original installation, which is why I gave that item four stars.

    I got my alarm system years ago (at least 7+). I have been paying $50 a month since then until last April. I called to cancel and was asked if I would continue service for a discounted rate. I agreed. However, fast forward to October and I called to cancel service. My husband and I were separating and he no longer wanted to continue the service at the house. They offered to let me take the service with me and I said I would check with the landlord. In the meantime, they told me they would cancel at the house. Received a bill the next month, called again. They told me that they were waiting on me to decide about the new location. I said that I wasn't going to do it. She said no problem, they would cancel. Received a bill THIS month, called AGAIN.

    I was escalated to a manager, who told me that in exchange for the discount offered in April, I was on a 24-month contract. I asked if, under the circumstances, could they allow me to cancel and I was told there was no way to let me out. My response was, "There IS a way, you just don't want to. I'm not asking for something for free, I'm asking to cancel something I no longer need." Two people had already told me it was possible, but I've now hit a wall. According to the guy I spoke to, he was the absolute highest level I could escalate to. Offered to give me 20% off my buyout amount, which was upwards of $500. No compassion, no recognition for being a good customer, nothing. This is one of those companies who are only concerned for themselves. Customers mean nothing to them.

    My alarm system has not been monitored by Moni for 6+ months, I attempted to cancel my service when my contract was up in August 2017. I am now receiving collection calls for a ridiculous balance for services that I did not receive. Nobody is customer focused at this company. I was told by the technician that sold and set up the service that I could cancel anytime. He misrepresented how customer friendly the company would be.     A long time ago, I had been thinking about getting a home security system. Then MONI's reps called me and said that I was chosen as somebody to market a free system so, I thought it was a good time to do it. It’s a really great deal but what they offered for free did not include the windows. It only included the sliding doors but that was okay. The few times that I have called, their reps have been very clear, very patient, and very courteous. They have been wonderful and it’s really been a pleasure to do business with them. I feel very good about the system, too. In fact, anytime I leave the house, I arm it then at night, I double arm it so that if a sliding door was opened or somebody got access to a window, there’s still a motion sensor that would pick that up. I’m very satisfied with it and I have recommended it to a couple of people.

    I've had my MONI Security for a little over a year and their price is way cheaper than other security companies. I called the customer service several times just to update my password. I was also having some problems with the application on my phone. There was an alert a couple of times so I called them back and I never had any problems. They were able to help me right away and I got all my questions answered. They have a good service.

    All the people that I have talked to when I call were very friendly. The installation guy was also really nice. He walked me through everything he did and where he placed the sensors. He showed me how to work the panel. I can control everything in the system with my phone and the quality of the equipment is really good. Wrote a review and was contacted by a rep to resolve the issues but only after I gave a negative review, every effort to resolve the problem prior to that, I was offered basically no options. After being contacted I made arrangements with the rep, made a payment that was not applied and was unable to re-establish contact with that representative. Go get yourself a no-contract system and save a whole lot of headaches.

    MONI's local salesperson was very convincing and we got their home security system shortly after we moved in to our house in April. It’s the first time we’ve had a home security so we’re still getting used to using it, but it seems to meet the need. My wife feels much more secure, especially if I’m gone, and it definitely has been a benefit for her so I’m glad. Early on, we had one minor incident where we went up in the mountains camping and we asked one of our neighbors to put something in the garage. They, without thinking, went into the house then I got an unexpected call while I was standing in the middle of a stream fishing. We had to deal with it, worked our way through and averted having the police come to the house. It all worked out and the MONI team has been helpful.     I found out today that when I arm my alarm while I'm in the house that there is a countdown rather than an immediate alarm. So in reality someone can break into my house while I'm sleeping and steal things or cause physical harm to me prior to my alarm going off. I was told that the only way it would go off immediately if the doors or windows are opened while it is armed "stay" is if they switched it so there isn't a countdown, however, that would mean that when it was armed "away" it would sound immediately and I would not be able to exit my door.

    This is not a good security system due to the fact that someone can come into my house without the alarm sounding however I wouldn't be able to leave my house with my alarm set. I am stuck in a contract with Moni for 3 years. I used to think it was a good company. I was wrong. Their equipment isn't the best or at least their technicians don't know how to program it to work correctly. Very unhappy. I would not recommend to anyone.

    Moni Security has done a very good job. Everything works and I'm happy with that. I like that the alerts are wired to my phone. If there's a problem, you can activate or deactivate it remotely. If we go out for breakfast this morning, my wife would set the alarm while we're on our way and deactivate it when we pick our mail on the way back. It's very convenient. Their customer service is also top-notch. They know who you are, they identify themselves and they work with you quickly and honestly.

    We were with another provider and they were not honest about the updates and in keeping us informed what was going on as far as the system improvement but MONI has been very good about that. They've also been very responsive whenever we have a problem. We've had some problem with the door camera when they changed out our routers. Their service people have been great and walked me through the process. We also had some issues with one of the ceiling sensors and they sent somebody out to take care of that and they were fantastic.

    The installation team was great and the technician was very helpful. He walked me through every step on knowing about the alarm system and make sure I knew how to operate the alarm system before he left. He did a good job and I felt very comfortable with him explaining everything to me. The features are good as well. I use the feature where I can disarm and arm the system from my cell phone and that’s very helpful to me. Having Moni makes me feel safe and while I’m away from my home, I feel comfortable that my home is safe.

    The only issue I have is with the billing. When I first bought my house the person who did the home inspection referred me to Moni and they told me if I went with them, I will have a rate at $42 and it won’t change. But right after five months, it went up to $47. I keep communicating with Moni about it. And my contract said it was going to be $42 for the three years, but it keeps going up to $50, last time is $47. They would change it for one month, and then right after that they change it right back. And they would tell me it was a promotion period, but I keep explaining to them, “No, it wasn’t a promotion period. It was because I got a discount because I went to the person who did the homeowners inspection.” But other than that, when I call or if I have a problem, they are very helpful and on-time. I would recommend a friend to go with them.

    MONI needs to address how they issue a bill. My payment for the monthly monitoring is taken directly out of my bank and they don't have that information on the bill. When I had to order a battery from them because it was easier than trying to go somewhere and find this specific battery that was going to fit that keypad, they shipped it in. However, on top of the bill for the battery was the charge for the monitoring which I won't pay because it's already coming out. It was confusing and I had to call and was advised to just pay for the battery.

    Overall, MONI's customer service team was nice to deal with, very quick and efficient. I feel more secure with MONI. Although they're a tad bit smaller company, they gave a whole lot better customer service. The installation person was very thorough and helpful, too. One of the sensors was bad and they had to come and replace them. They showed us different things and that the keypad had things on it that we just didn't even realize at that time. I like the fact that I can hit that button and talk to somebody instantly. I can even have them just check the system if I felt that something was off. I've recommended them to several people.

    MONI had a good price and their system was a lot nicer compared to our previous provider. We had to switch over to a new system and the service guy was very helpful. They had a little problem though because we don't have good cell service out here. They tried a couple of different things but that wasn’t their fault. I like that I'm able to talk through the speaker or the keypad whenever we have an issue and their people are very responsive. I'm very satisfied and I'd recommend them.

    Moni was cheaper so I chose to go with them over other providers. It is good and I have no problem with it. Everything is right on time. I upgraded to a touch pad and I got a key fob where I could actually set it when I go out the house. They came and did a service on it. The guy knew what he was doing and he did what he had to do. They also told me what the price is going to be. I’m satisfied with the system. Since having it, our sense of security is up 100% because now if we set the alarm while we’re at home and you open the door, it actually go off. And if it goes off too long, then they will call and ask what the problem is.

    I had a home invasion and robbery years ago so I got a home security system. I had ADT, Brinks, and another one, then MONI came to my door and I changed. But I cut service off four months ago. I disconnected it and I haven’t been using it. I have tried to get out of the contract but they won’t let me so I'll finish paying my contract out and be done with it. They're not going to help me and I'm tired of fighting with them.

    A friend of mine used to view every presentation of MONI Security and he talked to me about it. I said go ahead and through him, I got the security system with them. However, I'm disappointed with them. The agreement was that they will send me a statement every month so I could pay what I have to pay. But they did not send me any paying notice for three months. Now they're calling me, harassing me and asking me that I have to pay. I told them that I do not deny to pay but they didn't send me any statement, so how can I pay. But they continue doing the same thing.

    I gave them my account number and they said that the amount that I owe them was a hundred and something. I was shocked and they don't even have a bank permission to continue to take the amount out from my bank account. I haven't received anything from them and I'm very tired to talk to them. I told them to send me my statement every month and I will pay them, but they didn't do that. They haven't contacted me so I could explain to them about the situation that we have here in Puerto Rico because Puerto Rico was hit by a hurricane and we still don't have electricity right now. So, I don't have any service from MONI because the system doesn't work without electricity. If possible, I would like to cancel the service. But if I canceled the service, I have to pay $1,000 which is ridiculous. Right now, I'm not happy with them.

    I cancelled our service with MONI Security in March 2016 because we were building a new house. I told the lady I spoke to that I would call them back if we decided to stay with MONI Security. I did not. I just discovered that they've been charging me since June 2016. I just got off the phone with them after being told the cancellation would be expedited. When I asked about the $400+ I had been charged for no service I got the run around.

    5 year contract, year 1 was fine, then the so called "fixed" bill started increasing. I've called and had it corrected, took over an hour and they made it sound like a favor. I have an open ticket for sensors that no one has contacted me about in 5 days. When I call the tech, 3rd party, number there's no answer and VM is full AND now my bill is increasing again. There is of course no notification or explanation, the billed amount just increases. Also my alarm accidentally went off last week for almost a minute and there was no response from MONI, just another increased bill. Bottom line, if you need an alarm, get a dog or go with ADT.

    The price of my previous home security kept going up every year and it was ridiculous. So, I called around and MONI had a good price. I was starting to have problems with my unit and I talked to somebody who said my unit was old. It was put in 20 years ago and so they upgraded me to a newer unit. The young lady was very helpful, answered all my questions. They contracted somebody to install it and although he wasn’t as good as the young lady I spoke to, he came out and installed it when he was supposed to and I was very pleased. Also, when I accidentally set my alarm off, which happens once or twice a year, somebody calls and checks. They’re always very friendly and professional, and they’re not irritated that I set off my alarm. Since having MONI, it gives me a sense of security and I sleep better because of it. I’ve been happy with MONI.

    The company that I was with was sold out MONI. They tricked me into signing a five year contract, when it's supposedly for three years. From that, I was paying $49 a month, until ADT contacted me and told me I could get the same service for $28. I was mad when I realized I was overcharged so much. I tried to negotiate with MONI, and they were only able to lower it to about $31. I also tried to speak to the reps to try all the ways and be nicer with me on this but I couldn't get the rate that I was seeking.

    Their service is not bad. They are courteous and are genuine people, but it's just that their rate is so high. The features are just basic with the cost probably at $300 more or less. It could have been cheaper. There are other companies out there that offer more for less, but it was because of the contract, I'm stuck with it. I wanted something more, but they told me that I would have to go back and sign and different contract and the fee would be much higher. Also, ADT told me that if I wanted to get out, pay up the contract.

    I have been a customer for years, since they were Alliance, and have several issues with this service. The price at the time was competitive, however they have a clause in their contract that they can raise your rate up to 5% per year without prior notification and THEY DO!!! I now pay over $2 a day (for 2 motion sensors, 2 door sensors, and a smoke/CO2 sensor) and their connection to my control panel keeps timing out. The “constant communication" with the panel is the justification for $20 more a month.

    They take no responsibility for the communication failure because as in their terms and conditions they’re not responsible for its reliability. This leads to false Alarms when going “Away,” returning and disarming mobility, then entering the garage; which can lead to false alarm fees (again clearly stated that they aren’t responsible for). As for negotiating the price, doesn’t happen. So I’m paying this ridiculous price for a half-hearted product. This is a service company, giving no service, and taking no responsibility for the service failing.

    I was always having an issue with ADT in trying to get service on their systems. One thing or another wasn't working. I was trying to get them out there, do a service call to make sure everything was working but they were really not completing my request. Another alarm system came around, asked questions gave us a cheaper rate on our system, and they also provide a detailed, skilled help and resolved our issues one way or another. We got picked up by MONI Security and they're good about helping us out on the little issues.

    I contacted them last time due to the smoke detector that was going off by itself, even if somebody was cooking. We had it replaced twice. Their customer service has set up an appointment to come out and replace the device or look into the issue. We've been good about that. Since MONI's installation, I get a better feedback when I call them, or something goes off. They call me immediately at work, so I'm happy about that. And they call me before they send out the emergency service. I'm just happy with their service so far.

    We found MONI at a Home & Garden show. I used to have ADT and at that time, there was no comparison because ADT did not have the same thing that MONI was offering, which was being able to set it up and check it from your phone. The MONI reps were extremely friendly and there was no problem with the set up. The installers were very informative in letting us know and asking about our needs. So far we haven't had any problems that weren't fixed by a new battery. We have to buy it ourselves, but they provided it and just tacked it onto our bill.

    However, when we first signed up with MONI, we had a contract for five years. My husband told me a little while ago that somebody from the company called and said they were raising their rate. We signed a contract for the rate to be what it was and now they're changing. They shouldn't have upped the service price on it when I was in a contract. We took the contract because we knew our prices won't go up. But other than that, service performance has been fine.

    We were at a fair when somebody came out and started talking to us about MONI Security. The price was good and installation was free so we thought we’d give it a try. We used it when we lived in California some time around 2012. And then, when we moved to Oregon, we had it transferred. The installer was here for a long time and my husband said he was very thorough in his explanation of everything.

    I feel secured with it knowing that when the doors are open, it’s going to set up the alarm. One time, instead of putting "Stay", because we leave our dog in the house, my husband had put "Away". It was set off and I was notified via my phone. And so, my husband called ‘cause we were afraid. And that was the part we didn’t understand. We were told that nobody will come out without confirmation. What if we weren’t home or we were away? How would they get confirmation? That didn’t make sense to us. Also, our rates kept going up and so, my husband called them because we were going to cancel and go with another company that was cheaper. We were told that if we extended the contract out, they would lower the rates down, so we stayed. Other than that, it's been a good experience with MONI Security.

    After several years first as a Monitronics customer and more recently as a MONI customer, I decided to cancel my alarm services due to lack of use. Over three years ago I contacted the company to advise them of my decision to cancel my contract and was told to fax a written letter of cancellation to them at the fax number provided which I did. Despite following their cancellation procedure, I continued to be billed for alarm services prompting another phone call from me to their customer service department at which time I was told that they never received my letter. In December of 2014 I faxed a second letter again cancelling my alarm services.

    Moni ignored my second letter and continued to send monthly billing statement that I foolishly paid in an attempt to preserve my excellent credit score. I was also dealing with health issues at the time and had more important things to do than to spend every waking hour writing letters of cancellation to this company. I did however call them on several occasions during this time in an attempt to resolve the issue.

    Earlier this year, I finally had enough and stopped paying their bills prompting several phone call from them at which time I advised them that I had already paid them more than I should and they would not receive another dime from me. I have done everything possibly do to rid myself of these parasitic vipers but nothing seems to work. I don't want their alarm system, I have more than fulfilled my obligations to them and I just want them to go away. I would advise anyone who is looking for an alarm company to run as far away from this group as possible. Once you sign on the dotted line you will never be free of them.

    The rates of MONI appealed to me. When I called to inquire about more window and motion sensors, asking how much they would be, it was a positive experience with their customer service -- as it has always been with them since then. The rep who came out was also very friendly, and he carried on a conversation. He didn't just come in and just install and then leave. We actually were conversing with each other about the system. He was able to inform me on how to work the system and things of that nature, so I really appreciated that. Definitely, I feel more secure now, especially being able to have the mobile app. I'm always on my phone and just checking it, making sure that it's still the way that I put it when I left. They just did some upgrades as far as if I leave my home without turning the alarm on, I will get an alert right away to let me know. I'm satisfied.

    I’ve been using MONI for 20 years. At the time it was called Monitronics, it was cheaper than ADT. Customer service is fantastic! They helped me in understanding my zones. Sometimes, I get a low battery alarm in certain zones, and I did not know where they were and they would help me find them. Whenever I’ve had questions, they’ve been able to answer them. Also, whenever an alarm would go off, they would always call. They respond immediately too, and they would send out the police to my house if they weren't able to get a hold of me.     A local agent called on me and Monitronics sounded like the best way to go. I have them for 10 years and they’ve been pretty good to me. I have the the alarm systems on the windows and doors, then there’s a motion detector in the Florida room to protect those windows. The other day, I lost a monitor on one of the windows and they were good about getting it fixed. It took a little while but I don’t have any complaints. I'm happy with it. They changed their name from Monitronics to MONI, but I can understand. I was in business myself and that happens. Their customer service reps have been very good and very responsive to my calls. They've called me on at least two occasions where the smoke alarm went off and the fire department came. Everything’s very positive and I’d recommend them to my friends.
