    When we bought our house, we had Alliance and Brinks bought them out. They let us know that it was gonna be switching over. And then they came out last month, upgraded our entire system, gave us an indoor camera, lowered my wonderful bill, and gave us an outdoor camera. The guy that came to hook everything up, Milton, was a really cool dude and he was efficient. The only thing is since they put the system in there, we’ve been having problems with it going offline and online. But it could very well be the internet service since we have someone coming out on Saturday to do something for the internet. Other than that, we’re pretty happy with it.

    Cancelled policy and they still renewed contract for three years. Do not count on your account being cancelled when you request it. They will ignore your request and keep charging you. It is best to not be involved with them period. You will not get out without a headache.

    Brinks was already installed at the house I bought so I just took over their contract. I talked to customer service when I first moved in so they could coordinate the system under my mobile device and cellphone number, and putting everything under my name. I had one guy come and handle it all, and it was great. I have a dog that lives inside the house with me. When I leave and I turn on the alarm, he sets off the motion detectors and they call me instantly. I have to let them know I have a dog. I don't know how it would change that motion sensor knowing that there’s a pet inside and it moves through the house. But it's really good that as soon as I leave the house, they call me. I like that because it makes me feel like they're on top of things. I also get text messages and all that jazz. It makes me feel super safe being here. The price is pretty good, too. I can't complain about that either.

    I’ve had the service for five years now and through the years, I’ve only added a camera. It takes a battery so every once in a while, it’ll flash and say the battery needs to be changed out. Then I’m like, “Aaaah!” But other than that, I haven’t had a problem. I like my system. I call the company if my alarm goes off accidentally and they’ve always been really nice.

    I was with MONI and Brinks took them over. System's fine but when I set the alarm, it takes a couple hours for it to show up on my email to say that it's been set. And when I disarm it, it takes a couple hours for it to say it's disarmed. It's slow that way. Also, they’re telling me that I owe them money. I didn't have a balance but they called me and they go, "This is from the last time that you owe a $127." I don't understand how I can have zero balance one month and then I have a balance the next. They're very confusing. I had to pay whatever it was and they screwed me over. I'm not satisfied with Brinks.

    I’m very happy with Brinks. Everything is going good with them. We went with them because of the promotion package they gave us with the 3 cameras and the motion detectors. I like the quality of the system. However, my garage door sensor goes off and on and it stays on when the door is closed. I also had switched my modem to my personal modem and once I did that, it kinda changed the password. I had a hard time setting back up the Wi-Fi to my cameras so I had to end up going back with the company without the modem. Once I went back to it, I haven’t had any problems.

    It's going okay with Brinks except the Ring doorbell alarm is not really accessible for me because I’m blind. I even contacted the Ring Doorbell company to call them. They said it’s not compatible for people who use it with an iPhone with a voiceover. But other than that, the security system itself works good. And the reps have all been nice, polite, professional, and kinda helped with my questions.

    It's been great with Brinks. Every time the alarm goes off when the door is opened, I get a notification on the phone. There's no 45 seconds delay anymore. As soon as the door opens, an alarm is activated. Customer service tried to talk me through whatever issue I had over the phone. I e-mailed them and they e-mailed me back. We got through one issue. If we still couldn't get through it, then they’d send out a tech to take care of the problem. He was knowledgeable about what was going on.

    We have the same system we had with Monitronics and Brinks updated it when they took over. As a matter of fact, we have two systems. We have a rental property and we have a one we live in. We have a system on a rental property and one we live in, but in one of the houses, the camera keeps losing signal. I reset the modem and it started back working, so it’s just the internet.

    I’ve had my alarm system for over 15 years. I’ve had different companies and the most previous alarm company, Monitronics, was bought out by Brinks. I got a notification through the mail that it’s bought out. I’ve had the previous alarm system for some time. I upgraded it. I was asked, in order to do that, if I wanted to extend my contract, and I did. They also gave me a surveillance piece of equipment I haven’t used, it’s still in the box. The transition was fine. There were no issues with that. I have been with Brinks for five years now and I’ve had no issues.

    The new equipment's good. I’ve had a few hiccups though. We’ve been in Hawaii once, and we got a notification from Brinks that there was an intrusion. Turned out it was a glitch in one of the systems. I have surveillance inside my home and it looked like there was nothing like an intrusion. So, I went ahead and canceled the call for authorities to check on the residence. But when I got back, I had to replace a piece of equipment at one of the entry points at the residence. They sent me a new sensor and I haven’t had any issues other than just replacing batteries. I’m happy with Brinks.

    Years ago, I had ADT. I'm in the security field so I've heard about Brinks many years ago. By happenstance, the company that I had when I first purchased my home, MONI, was purchased by Brinks. Naturally, they assume all of the responsibilities and the customers came over as well, and the contract that I was under was with MONI Smart.

    I had a few customer service interactions and they were very responsive. I had an incident when I was trying to activate my system utilizing my cellphone, and I kept getting an error message. I called customer service, they were trying to troubleshoot it from their location and they were able to clear the error temporarily because the system kept beeping. The long-term fix was I needed a system upgrade, so they sent the technician here. He did the upgrade and now, everything's good to go.

    I had an incident one time where I got a burglar alarm notification of a backdoor or window opening. I was at work, and when I contacted Brinks to see what was going on, they said they had already contacted my sheriff's department to dispatch someone to come to the residence because they couldn't get ahold of me. When I checked my cameras, which I know Brinks don't monitor that because that's something I had here previously, I never saw the police in the camera. They kept saying they came to the house, and I know they claim things like burglary or when they get that type of signal when the window is broken. That makes it a higher priority. But whatever the alarm was triggered with, they said that's a low priority. I can't say the missing link was with Brinks 'cause they said they did what they were supposed to do as far as contacting the sheriff's department. I just never saw someone came out, never saw them in my camera.

    Brinks came out to do the update for the system. It was pretty smooth. The guy was in and out in less than an hour. The 5G upgrade he did seems to be working now when I tried it on the system from wherever I'm at in the house. It's almost instantaneous when before, there was a delay. He was pretty professional, too. The interaction that I've had with Brinks has been positive.

    We had just moved into our home and we wanted a home security system. Something came in the mail, and we called and went with Brinks. The installation guy came and did the install, which was very nice. Things went great and we've been very pleased with the system until something happened with the thermostat. We didn't understand what was going on, but we had to just change the setting on the iPad and so far, so good. We really like the feature involving the doors (the front, back or garage door), when any of the doors are open, and we use the app a lot.

    We would be in bed, and we would reset the temperature or we would check the temperature. Last summer, we were out of town on vacation for labor day right after we got the system, and the doorbell got stuck. It heated up a wire in the doorbell and the sensor was sitting right under or above the doorbell then the system went off. We got a call from the fire department, but the system alerted us, then we were able to call a friend back here in town. He came over, checked on it, and it was fine.

    I signed on with Monitronics in 2017. Brinks bought Monitronics. I had a 3-year contract. I paid my bill online EVERY month when it was Monitronics and when it was Brinks. I left Brinks in March of 2020. I contacted them at least 30 days before I cancelled, which was the end of my contract. I logged onto Brinks at the end of March to make sure they showed no balance due. I received a bill from Brinks early April, which showed no balance due and another letter saying sorry to see you go but if you come back to us, we will charge you $17 per month rather than the $45 I was paying.

    Two months later, I receive a notice that I have a $71 bill due and they are going to turn me over to a collection agency. I have not received any other bills during this time. When I called, I was told that I owed $45 from when I was with Monitronics in April, 2017. When I told the supervisor, Eric, that every time I logged onto their account, I paid in full what their website said was due, he told me I would have to PROVE that I had paid this bill in April, 2017 or he could not help me. He also told me that even though my contract ended in the middle of March, 2020 and I had paid through that time and had called a month in advance, I would have to pay for the entire month of March and half of April, 2020.

    This company is a scam and they don't hesitate to rip people off and try to scare people. Also, part of my alarm NEVER worked and I was told from Monitronics and Brinks that I would have to pay $99 for them to come out and check why it wasn't working even though it did not work from day 1 and it was their screw up. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY - THEY ARE RIP OFFS!!!!

    I ordered Brinks for my new home with a 3 year contract. When we started doing our remodel I asked to suspend the service while we were working on the house since we couldn't arm it during this time and said I would be happy to extend the service on the other end. They said "No, can't do that". I called back a few months later again asking to do it and they again said No but they offered to give me a 3 month credit which only turned out to be a 2 month credit. During the time of my"credit" my alarm panel was not working, I figured it was due to the credit down time. After 3 months, still not working. After 5 months, still not working so I called and asked to turn the panel back on and they said they'd have to send out a technician. He came and got it back up and running, 3 months later I get a bill for almost $60. No one ever said anything about a service fee to come out, in fact since I'm still not using the system, I would have never agreed to pay it.

    I have called regarding this bill and they say they can't do anything about it, after escalating it to a supervisor she agreed to take $25 off the bill but the point is I wasn't informed it was going to cost me anything except for the $45/mo that I'm paying for and unable to use. This company seems to take all the critical thinking, rationality, and customer service out of the equation when dealing with their customers. Very disappointed in this company, in a time where people are struggling right now, Brinks is gouging their customers!

    I really like Brinks so far, but there's a 5 to 10 minute-delay from the time that something is in my backyard until I get the text. Other than that, they have been great. I've had to call for issues with the billing. Also, when my system was about a week old, it crashed and someone had to come out to fix it. You also can't move it around the house, which I have no intention to do so. But unplugging it sets it off.

    I love the doorbell. When it rings, I'd pop in and say, "Hello," and the person would jump. I did that with my grandson. When he came to the door and rang the doorbell, I went, "The bogeyman's gonna get you." He ran back to the car to his mama. But I've been having some issues with the internet connection with the doorbell, but I think that is on my end with my internet system because I don't have the fastest speed up. Having my system gives me comfort.

    I have a brother who's wheelchair-bound and he gets around on a scooter. I was at work on a Sunday and he went into my garage. He was taking the boxes that I have. He wanted to put it in a fire pit that I have and set them on fire. I called Brinks, but there was such a delay. I thought, "I bet you he already started it." When he called, he asked how'd I know. I said that I've got the camera. I also told him that he couldn't burn because it was not burning time right then." The prices are a little high, but I sleep good at night, and that's the main thing.

    Brinks was Monitronics before and I’ve been protected for seven years. The system seems to be working okay although I don’t know how to turn on my light outside such as the night vision. It doesn't come in clear like it does the front yard and the side of the house. In the darkness, I kinda see something like the sun porch a little bit but it isn’t like the other ones. Because when I look in the other ones, it almost shows like there's a light shining but there's not. It’s doing the night vision but it’s not doing that in the back. Still, it was perfect dealing with the installation crew.

    We had a dead battery in the backup system. We dealt with customer service and they were very good and very helpful.     Brinks's customer service has been very professional and straight to the point. Any questions, they’ll answer and if they don’t know, they’ll get the answer to it. Overall, my interactions with them have been pretty helpful. The functionality and performance of the system have not been that great. The motion sensor would sometimes pick up the movement, but at other times, it won’t. There’s also a delay in it, which is the worst part.

    On my backdoor, one of the sensors came off and I called Brinks. They sent somebody out to my home four weeks after I called. I asked if he could take a look at the system. There's a sensor on my kitchen window and when we open the kitchen window, the system says, “Family window open.” But that’s not the family window. I asked if he could switch it out, but he seemed like he was in a rush. He explained using his work lingo, which I didn’t understand too much. But he made it seem like it was gonna be a lot of work for him to switch it so, I just told him to leave it alone. I’m dissatisfied with the technology part. But anytime the alarm goes off, Brinks is very quick to respond. They’ll go in through the system, and if nobody communicates through there, they’ll call. In that aspect, they are very responsive.

    First off, Brinks bought my original security company American Defense Systems. I cancelled my account in October for my contract ending in November. I paid my final bill in December. As I work in a different state I did not keep tabs on the bills coming into my house that I thought were already finished. When I got back in March I saw that my account was never cancelled and they kept billing me for all of those months, plus late fees.

    I recancelled my account again and informed them that I was not paying the amount as I had previously cancelled. I was informed to make sure to receive the cancellation notice this time. I did get it after a couple days. Then I received a bill for April with late charges and the such. I talked to Aedgar, a supervisor with Brinks about the matter and he "graciously" agreed to remove April charges but could not do anything about the rest. He said that none of this was in the notes from the former conversations. I told him that it may be good practice for Brinks to email customers a copy of the notes so they can know they were entered properly. I paid the remainder of the bill, which was 250.41 as I did not want this to go to collections and ruin my excellent credit.

    Brinks bought out Guardian. I liked my service with Guardian and I'd heard good things about Brinks, too, and they didn’t change my rates, so I just stayed. I was having problems with my security panel in my house, and they helped me through resetting the thing a couple of times to try and get it working. We still couldn’t get it fixed, so I called back and talked to him about upgrading my system to Brinks’ new stuff, and the lady was very helpful getting me all set up with that. So far, I've been pretty satisfied with my experience with Brinks. Customer service people are nice and the one technician that I worked with was very professional. I've had no complaints.

    My Brinks system is outdated but I haven't had any issues other than some glitches with the system itself. Their customer service was fine. But there are telemarketers that call me every day to upgrade even if I tell them to stop calling. I had somebody already called me about it three weeks ago and I told him that I'd call him back if I decided to upgrade my system or change out.

    The other day my neighbor called me to inform me someone was on my property snooping around, so I went to my app to log in and view my cameras, and turn on record feature. Was unable to log in on app or website to do so. I called brinks and one customer service rep told me they are having trouble with the site, I asked to speak to someone else, and they told me they were doing an update. Which is it? If it was an update, why don't they notify their customers when this will happen, before it happens! You don't just shut down your website at 3:30 PM to do a update, without proper notification.

    I can't rely on a security company to protect me or my home, if I can't access my cameras when needed. Unfortunately I can't break my contract, so I will continue to pay, but will no longer use their service or equipment. I need a company to rely on. The cameras have no continuous recording option, or 24 hr loop option. Only records 35 second clips, with motion detector. And sometimes records nothing at all, depending on the location of sun. Constantly changing settings depending on what time of day and what the weather is. If the camera is triggered to many time during a billing period, they either charge you extra, or shut off cameras motion detector till next billing cycle. I bought my own 4k cameras, that will continuously record on a 7 day loop, all wifi, much better quality video 24/7! I hired new company to monitor my doors and windows. Sorry Brinks, but when it comes to my home and personal security you only get one chance!

    Updated on 07/12/2020: I called the customer service number to cancel my service with Brinks as my 3-year contract with them is ending at the end of the month. I was never that happy with Brinks as the customer service was never great, and they raised my price several times without notifying me. I never signed or was told that there was a 30-day period where I would still be billed after I requested cancellation.

    The customer service representative read me the legal wording, which was that I would be billed for 30 days after requesting cancellation or until the end of the contract. I asked her to clarify that. How many days now was I going to be billed? She said 30 days. I replied that she just said "or until the end of the contract!" She repeated that I was going to be billed for 30 days. I asked her why then the wording about the end of the contract was mentioned. She replied that she has to say that. I told her that that makes no sense. And so it went until she cut me off and ended the call. I was not rude or nasty. I was just trying to get a clarification as to the wording which she could not give me, in my opinion. Now I have to wait and see how long I am billed for.

    Original Review: Brinks does not answer phone quickly. God forbid I should ever have a real emergency. Many of their agents have no clue what they are talking about, or know how to follow thru on a problem. Also, don't fall for the spiel on the phone to go and text and agent, who will answer immediately. Took over 7 minutes for an agent to come online, and then I had to wait at least 5 min between anything I asked him and a response back. When he finally came up with what he was passing off as a game plan, the next message I got what that the website was having problems, and then I heard nothing else back from him. Will switch companies when my 3 year contract is up in July.

    Years ago, I was an over the road truck driver, which meant that my wife and my children were home alone. I put the system in then Brinks bought the company out. Instead of telling Brinks, “Go fry ice,” I continued with their service and I’ve been pleased ever since. I’ve talked to their reps plenty of times and they’re good people. They make sure that if they can’t answer my questions, they get me somebody who can.

    Recently, I was up in New England taking care of my mom when she was sick, so I scheduled a guy to come out here and replace all the batteries so that my wife didn’t have to worry about trying to do it. And when I got back into town, he showed up and changed the batteries, a glass breaker, and a radio transmitting device. Everything was great though I had a little issue with one of the sensors. After he left, it was not reading properly. But I called customer service and they walked me through how to just move the battery around because one of the batteries slipped a little bit.

    The Brinks system works great and I like the features in my package. The remote arm and unarm is very good. But they should verify what they are going to install prior to setting an appointment with the installer. I was going to upgrade to cameras. They came out to test the equipment and install the cameras, but the cameras that they were going to install was not what I was told they were going to be. But it was good with the tech.

    Last year, I had to pay $50 to get my camera that stopped working moved to the back of my house because I ordered the doorbell, but it never got done. Also, a while back, the doorbell had gone out and Brinks walked me through getting it back up. However, I'm disabled and they had me unplugging this and plugging this. It was hard, but I got it done. I had better luck with Monitronics. When my cameras go out, they immediately come. I don't use the features offered in my system much. I'm in a pretty safe area and had I known, I would've jilted it. I would've just done the doorbell and one camera.

    The gentleman that came to set up the system originally was great, super helpful, and even took some extra steps for us. One time, there was an issue with the monitor and I was able to get that resolved over the phone. At another time, they had to come out. And every time they came out, they were super prompt, on time, and took care of things. But the door lock is frustrating and we have to replace the battery a lot. Then at the beginning, we had a lot of frustration when the doorbell wouldn't work correctly. Plus, when they had to come back and put in a new monitor, it was six models behind where we were at the time. And we had only been with the company for a year and a half. So, I felt that our stuff got outdated really quickly. But whenever I call Brinks, everything's prompt and they get back to me immediately.

    I've also had other security systems in the past with a previous home and for the price, Brinks is more reasonable. And the other day, I was cleaning the monitor for the COVID stuff, just kinda cleaning everything in the house, and I accidentally set the alarm off. Immediately, we got a callback. So, it is kind of reassuring to know that if something happens, somebody will get back to us right away. Other than that, the system's super easy to use. My daughters are seven and nine and they're able to use it, so it works perfectly for us because it's not overcomplicated.

    The sales representative that came to our house told us that they would buy us out of our contract with Vivint which they did and that they would give us a price of $50 per month which was a lie. It was actually $70 per month. They also told us that it would be a four year contract when it actually turned out to be a five-year contract. They also said in the contract that they gave us a new doorbell camera and a new camera for the outside of the house and a new panel for inside the house. What they actually gave us was just the doorbell camera which was another lie.

    When I called to complain about what was told to me I was told to look at the contract which I signed because The salesman told me that the promotion will change. Be on there in 1/2 billing cycle which was another lie. The product is great. With the fact that I was lied to I would never recommend this to any of my 2.5 million followers that I have on Twitter. There are a lot of different companies out there. Please do not get tricked into getting locked into a five year contract at a higher rate than what was promised.

    The first time I called Brinks was when we had the one problem with the glass break in our dining room window and the rep was rude. He wanted me to take the whole panel off. I said I didn't know how to do it and he said he would walk me through it and I could do it. That made me want to look for another system. And he finally said to just take the batteries out and that they would work fine without a battery. He said he could tell on his end it was working fine. But I put the battery back in anyway. I called this last time because it said there was a problem with it. I talked to some woman on the phone and she said it's gonna cost $50. I told her to send somebody out that knows what they're doing because I don't.

    Then, I ordered two cameras, a doorbell, and a lock, and I only ended up with one camera. We decided we just wanted the one camera at our driveway because we got to looking and the camera of the doorbell did the same thing that the camera at the front was going to do. I needed to check my bill to make sure that they charged me for the one camera and the rep was fine.

    Also, the tech that came out and put in the new system changed the system to a ding and we didn't know how to change it back to where it would say back door and front door when you open the door. When the man came out and put in the doorbell and the camera, he showed me how to change it and how to turn down the volume and all that. He was fantastic, very polite, and very nice. He checked all the systems.

    My son and daughter have Brinks and they're happy. I didn't wanna fall into a three-year contract, but the customer service that they get is good. Also, the sales rep did a good job so I got Brinks. I have the app on my phone and when someone comes and rings the doorbell, although my phone indicates for me to get a notice, I don’t always get a notice on my phone. It wouldn’t ring and then I couldn’t hear anybody ringing the doorbell, so I went to my panel and I put the volume up.

    Someone could be ringing my doorbell and I wouldn’t get a notification. Or someone would come and drop off UPS packages, which to me is a major movement, and I wouldn’t get a notification. I had a big dog come in and attack my chicken farm and I had no recording. I thought it would immediately start recording if it's a big dog. Those things were some of the main reasons I got it. I don’t know if it's something that I haven't programmed and if there is an extra system I need to buy. Also, the quality of the camera is always so blurry.

    While doing my due diligence while shopping for a home, I contacted Brinks to see what the cost to move the system would be. First they told me I could bring the window sensors, motion detectors, smoke, fire and CO sensors, but I couldn't bring the panel. They said in order to use the system at the potentially (I didn't close on property) new address, I was told I would have to pay for an install and buy a new monitor control pattern since the one installed in NJ, wouldn't work in Arizona. I have a contract and since I can't walk away from it, I either leave and continue to just pay the fee then hope they cancel it while directed (which based on reviews seems like a nightmare) OR I can pay all the fees upfront to buy the equipment and still have to extend my contract by another three years.

    If I am forced to buy equipment to keep the current contract viable and operating because they said the system was movable when I bought it, then if the panel etc wouldn't work they should provide all of the above without having to extend the contract, which already has three more years to go. I am guessing that I should start the paperwork now to cancel the contract 3 years from now, since they DO NOT CANCEL WHEN YOU REQUEST IT AND SEND YOU TO COLLECTIONS FOR NON-PAYMENT. Seems like this company practices holding customers hostage indefinitely. If you don't buy new equipment and extend the contract then you will not receive any help from Brinks. I did buy my system from Moni/Alarm.com however along with the debts, they are also supposed to honor terms of the contract.

    Sales and info on publicly traded stock is available online. The CUSTOMER SERVICE AND SALES PEOPLE are probably given a script and their reviews are probably based a lot on retaining current customers, so without knowledge of the contract terms, they lie to people. My biggest issue was with the sales person I was just asking question about moving the system. She asked me where it was going and insisted on an exact address, it was my intention to close which didn't happen due to the Covid-19 virus ongoing issues.

    When I wouldn't commit after having to say I had an emergency call to get the person to let me go, I started getting inundated with emails, text messages and phone calls from Brinks. They needed my authorization and wanted to set up a date for the install. First I had no verified address because I hadn't closed yet and I was only shopping for information as to what would be required for a move. I told each and every contact I received not to contact me anymore that I didn't have a closing date and would let them know my decision when I did. NEVER ONCE NOT PAYING FOR MY CURRENT CONTRACT OBLIGATION.

    The final straw was when I went onto the website to process my current month's payment and saw, without authority they changed my address to the house I was potentially going to buy. Now on my credit report, I have a new address as reported by Brinks for somewhere I never even lived. Since I had Brinks connected to Experian Boost, this change in their system about my address change has now made to my credit report. I am sure when I made the first payment after they changed my address, Experian noted the new address. For the first time of my life, this address info can and most likely be an informational question asked by many companies to verify who you are when applying for credit or to verify who you are if you forget a password etc.

    I was able to make the address change back to my real address online, but the damage was already done. DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA WHAT IT TAKES TO FIX INCORRECT INFO ON YOUR PROFILE FOR ANY CREDIT REPORTING COMPANY? An act of Congress PRACTICALLY. I had to provide proof of my current address, proof of my identity, proof of my physical address via utility bill or a contract of a rental agreement that said utilities were included, and a copy of my driver's license to prove where I have lived for the last 28 years. While this could be fairly simple to retrieve for the average person during normal times. But when you are suffering from breast cancer and autoimmune disease which incorporates everything from lupus and MST, Crohn's disease etc it isn't easy. All of this because the sales person took it upon themselves to make changes to my account WITHOUT MY AUTHORITY.

    IN THE STATE OF NEW JERSEY and many other states, check out your laws; YOU ARE ALLOWED TO RECORD conversations as long as one person to the conversation is aware of it. (Namely me.) I do so with an app from anyone except GOOGLE APP STORES because they have blocked the use of ACR'S from their platforms. I WONDER WHY? AFRAID OF SOMETHING OR DID THEY GET CAUGHT DOING SOMETHING ILLEGAL. GOOGLE is the only app store that does this. So even if you previously paid for a premium recording system like RECORDER PRO ETC, YOU ARE BEAT. When google CHANGED THEIR RULES, NOT MANDATED BY MANY STATES, THEY RIPPED US ALL OFF. (Another story for another day.) Thankfully, when I learned of their new rule back in March 2019, I found the ACR app which was available on APPLE and Galaxy stores FREE NO LESS.

    IF YOUR STATE ALLOWS THIS I ADVISE EVERYONE TO GET ONE AND USE IT ESPECIALLY WHEN TALKING TO COMPANIES THAT LIE LIKE BRINKS. When a person thinks of BRINKS they think of the company trusted to move millions of physical cash transfers all over this country. TRUST is the first thing you think of because they would have to be trusted to be able to move all that money. THOSE BIG WHITE AND BLUE TRUCKS WITH BRINKS EMBLAZONED ON THEIR SIDES ARE HARD TO FORGET.

    BRINKS SECURITY DATES BACK TO THE DAYS OF THE PONY EXPRESS, Founded in 1859 by Perry Brink of Chicago, Illinois, Brink's business evolved from local armored transportation services to providing corporate financial logistics and international secure transportation. The name of BRINKS alone should inspire trust. IT DOESN'T. Monitronics filed for bankruptcy with over $900M in debts. BRINKS IS NOW GETTING THAT DEBT BACK AFTER BUYING THEM ON OUR SHIRTTAILS.

    Before you even think about contracting this company to do any type of alarm work for you RUN, RUN FAST AND RUN FAR. There are too many self installed systems out there to require anyone to need BRINKS OR ANY OTHER HARD WIRED SYSTEM. WHICH IS EXACTLY, WHAT I WILL BE DOING WHEN I HAVE A NEW PERMANENT ADDRESS, THAT I chose to report to the credit reporting agencies not BRINKS.

    I did finally have the opportunity to speak to a rep at BRINKS AND advised them I would be pursuing avenues to rectify what happened just from an inquiry for service. They stated they would investigate why their sales rep took the liberties she did. Even when pursuing a new mortgage because the other seller backed out of the deal, I have already been asked to explain the address. Again causing more unnecessary paperwork. Bottom-line, I have all the conversations with Brinks recorded like I do with any company I have contact with for any reason. By New Jersey law I am not required to inform them of no matter what they state they operate out of. PROTECT yourself from PREDATORS like BRINKS and PayPal Credit via Synchrony Bank. One of them told me that I had to call by April because it was ending in May. When I called in April, they told me I had until August. I got two different answers to that.     I got Brinks both at my mom's house in Iowa and my house in Arizona and they both suck. Their machine keeps failing and it keeps having to get repairs. And their customer service lies. I would tell them I'm gonna have somebody at my house and then they wouldn't show up. Or they would call me and tell me they would have somebody here but they wouldn't show up. I'm staying in Iowa and I had to pay somebody to go and take care of my house to make sure nobody would rob it.

    When the panel stopped working, I called Brinks to get it fixed. Then, when I got on the phone, I asked about upgrading it to the doorbell because my son had the Ring. I ended up getting that upgrade and it gives me a sense of security. Also, I like it because even if a car passes, it comes up on my phone. Everybody I dealt with was good and very nice. They were very professional and knowledgeable as well. But the installer didn't leave the instructions for my panel and my camera. He left the one for the Ring but it's good to have those things on hand to refer back to. Even though everything is on the internet, I wanted my packaging. I like to read black and white sometimes. Other than that, he did a good job and the overall performance of the system has been nice. I like it.

    Brinks bought out Monitronics but I don’t feel much has changed. I feel like it’s the same in terms of monitoring. We had a recent issue with our control panel and they responded quickly. The man who came out was very professional, especially given the whole Coronavirus situation. He did great. Brinks has gone favorable for me.

    We moved from our home in February, I called to cancel them at that time. I spoke to someone really nice and thought it was done. A month later, I was still being billed the full amount. I called back and spoke to someone else who was rather rude. She told me I should have been sent an email to cancel services, I checked my email and didn't have anything from them. She said it was still my responsibility to call them back but that she would go back to listen to the conversation with the previous rep to see if he told me anything. She said I was responsible for the charges and they would not remove them since I was supposedly told about the email.

    Almost a month later, I got charged again so I called and the rep informed me that she saw the email where I cancelled but that it takes 30 days to take effect. I told her I didn't know that and that the rep didn't inform me of that information. She said it was in the email. I asked for charges to be removed and she said she couldn't do anything since I already paid. I told her I didn't have an option because it was removed automatically. They are not forthcoming at all and no one should have to go through this amount of trouble to cancel services.

    I'm not pleased with the last incident with the fire. My smoke detector went off. They called me and I met the fire department here because I was not here. It said extreme heat was in the hallway. But, when we got here, it was not anything. They said the smoke detectors go out, and they are out of warranty after so often, of which I never knew. This one had not even went out. So, they replaced it but I had to pay for a replacement. And I thought, “Hey, look. When I got this, it was lifetime warranty.” When Monitronics switched over, that lifetime warranty does not apply anymore. These companies keep selling their stock so the consumer gets caught up in the middle of all that. So, those agreements that we make are not worth anything. I'm not pleased with how they transfer the accounts over from Monitronics or Alliance.

    I got an electronic door answering on two of my properties. So, this one is having a problem, but that is not their problem. If I want to replace this one, and it is supposed to be lifetime warranty, I have to get a new one through Brinks. So, it is crazy because the equipment and everything I got at that time was free on how they did it. It is cool that they got the doors with the cameras on them, but we cannot afford to pay. Brinks is talking about doing that.

I was having some issues and was gonna cancel the system just because people were offering me a better rate somewhere else, but Brinks was able to price match it.     I always had a security system in the homes I’ve been in. I had Brinks when we moved into this house and then I just continued with it. They've come under different names over the years. I had a basic wired system. It’s not a Wi-Fi system where you do things remotely. It works fine, and I would just keep it like it is. They came out for my front door about a month ago. It wasn’t connecting correctly, and they sent a tech out to redo the sensor there and to check all the other sensors and got everything working again.

    Brinks' service, in terms of coming and in getting me set up, is fabulous. We were elated with the quality of the rep. The field organization struck me as first-rate and the Nest equipment that they're reselling is pretty robust. But I can't get behind what happens in the back office. It's not well thought through. When I bought the original equipment, I put in on a credit card where I needed to get to a certain level to get benefits. I wanted them to bill that credit card and that was an immense pain to get it switched. Also, all the equipment I had from them is a mess. None of it is Brinks branded. As far as I know, it's gonna hold up fine. I had a problem originally with the Nest Yale Lock, but that was covered under warranty. I paid Brinks to come put it in, rather than try and do it again myself, and that seems to have been a much more satisfactory way to go.

    Their online interface is really difficult and not user-friendly. There's a lot of mumbo-jumbo. I'm not stupid when it comes to computers but it's much harder to use than it needs to be. I'm 70 years old and they should give some thought to catering to us old folks. Brinks needs to think about who their target market is and what it takes to reach that market from a customer service standpoint. If they're going to ask me to use technology to provide customer service, they gotta think it through. If they didn't have at least this guy in the field providing outstanding service, I would've said to take back the equipment and I would move to a different solution.

    I'm a woman alone and I've had my house broken into before. I got a handyman who wasn't certified and he made the dog door through the hardwood door. I needed to do something so I could know that I'm safe. I went with Brinks as they were a lot cheaper than Alder and provided better customer service. With them, I don't have to have a landline to have a life alert button.

    Brinks' customer service reps are quick to answer questions. They are quick to send someone out if I need service such as an upgrade. Their people are professional enough to wear uniforms so I can tell who they are supposed to be. They treat me with respect too. They also make sure that I know how to work their equipment before they leave. I would tell them that they would have to repeat themselves one more time and they would tell me that it's no problem. They tell me that I can call them if I have any questions.

    Brinks also has high-quality equipment. I was worried at first because I didn't think that they had the window crack thing but they do. They have what all the other companies have except with them, I feel like I have everything I need. They don't make me feel like I'm being pushed to pick up another device. I've been using this company years. There was a time when I thought about switching to another company but I was not happy. With the other company, I would be locked into a stupid contract that I can't get out of. I would be paying for two companies but I like Brinks. So, I don't even hook up with the other company.

    I wanted to have peace of mind in my home. I went with Brinks but then I don't like their equipment. I want to know when people ring my doorbell and for my system to record them when they ring it. In order for that to happen, Brinks has to send the recording to my phone or my email. When the system reaches the maximum capacity for videos, it stops recording.

    The same thing happens with my driveway. Their system used to send me messages when there is motion there. Then, that stopped because their system reached the maximum capacity. If something were to happen when the system is maxed out, I won't have recordings so it's worthless. It doesn't make any sense to even have a security system. Brinks' system reaches the maximum capacity really quickly because it records every single car going by and shoots the video to my phone. It's a broken system since I'm going to reach the maximum capacity anyway unless I live in a ranch where hardly any cars go by.

    Everything is going well with our Brinks Home Security. When they came initially to install, they offered me some additional services that I was not getting with my other company. And they were able to help me get out of the contract with the other company, so I decided to go with Brinks. The sales rep was very cordial and I'm getting a good deal for my money. I've got the monitors for my hallway and for the doors. I have this glass shatter in each room for my windows. The only issue I have right now is I’ve got one of my key fobs in Greensboro, and my system keeps telling me that it’s low in battery. So, I’ve had the batteries changed.     The quality of the system of Brinks seems okay. I don’t have any real trouble with my system except once, but it was fine. There was a couple of issues with it. For some reason, it was sending out a medical signal, and the paramedics showed up here two different times, but we didn't do anything. So, I don’t want that feature anyhow, so they shut it off. But then I had a deal where we shut the alarm off, then we walked downstairs and the alarm went on. They ended up sending a tech out here to upgrade the board in the system ‘cause it was old and it’s been good ever since.

    I’ve been with Brinks since they bought out Monitronics two years ago but I’ve been with Monitronics for 10 years, who has been very good to us. They were a good price and we just rolled over because we already had the equipment. But I’m not as happy with Brinks. If you're a Monitronics customer, you couldn’t talk to Brinks. They have different operating systems and they have five. I’ve been on the phone with Brinks for 14 hours in different times. I’ve been on three hours on the same call, on the same situation. I had to call them last week. I lost my receipt and they had to come out. I bought four new houses in 10 years, so I moved all my equipment with me. I got woken up twice. It was four in the morning and I was out there, making sure all my kids are in bed. I cleared my front yard. My garage rolling door sensor was going off saying my garage door was being opened at 4:00 in the morning.

    Then, it happened at 10 AM within the same week. No one else was home and the thing wasn’t rolling up. The guy said a mouse could have set it off but he said that it was installed defectively and they were gonna pay the $50. I said I would pay the $50 but it was gonna be waived. He wrote it in there but he didn't call it in. I called in and the girl couldn’t see the receipt, or call the company and see the receipt, or call the third party company, which I need to do somehow and do their job. That’s my newest frustration with this company. It’s horrible and they have seven different departments. You call one and then they’ll transfer you to a different one and transfer you to a different one. Then, you have to re-authenticate, every time, who you are. It’s horrible.

    Still, the security system works. I had the police in two minutes. When I sold my last house, I had an alarm on. I told the Realtor not to go in but he went in. No one was home and I was at the grocery store. My alarm went off. We had scheduled time in noon and the guy came an hour early. By the time I raced home, the Realtor ran away but the cops were circling my house.

    When I go to access Brinks' cameras, I have a problem every so often and they keep asking me to troubleshoot. Last time I called them to do that, it was too much. I wasted half a day on the phone. Since then, I've been reluctant to call back as I don't feel like dealing with a headache. Though I recently extended my contract with them as it is a deal I couldn't get anywhere else, I should've gone ahead and changed providers.

    What I was told by Brinks was that I would be able to access my cameras and certain other features would be available. But then, the only thing that is working well besides me arming my system is the doorbell. While the side cameras and rear camera work fine, my garage camera fails more often than anything. I wouldn't refer Brinks to anyone.

    When I originally called, my contract was being held by the American Defense System. I put in a complaint work order, and somewhere in the process, they dropped the ball. ADS didn’t service it anymore and then it defaulted to Brinks. I felt like ADS was passing on the cost to fix it onto Brinks, which I didn’t think was right. Then ADS was supposed to call and say that they were gonna cover it and pay for it after I made a stink because I didn’t feel it was fair to Brinks, and they didn’t. But surveys generated that I made a call, and surveys generated that they made a call to Brinks, but there was no documentation of that. Another month went by and I had to call again. Then I had to escalate to a manager and wait three weeks for a service person to come out and service me.

    When the guy came out, he was gonna charge me the $100 which was the usual amount being charged. I said that the person already said it was covered and that they were taking care of it. He didn’t fix the problem. He didn’t have the correct equipment to replace the doorbell camera. So, instead of opening another ticket, he asked me to sign off on the open ticket so that the independent contractor could get paid. I told him not to leave as I’ve waited three weeks for him to come. He said that I have to call back in. I asked him why he would open a ticket and not complete it, and that if it was because he didn’t have the correct camera with him. He said that he just had to make documentation. I said that he would get paid only for the service trip. He should be calling saying that he doesn't have the equipment and that we needed to issue another return ticket. He told me to call retention.

    I talked to a retention manager and she would check it and see what she could do for me then call me back. She called back but then she didn't have any answers for me. She said that she would call the following day which would have been February 4th. She left a voicemail saying that. I didn’t hear from her or from anybody else on February 4th. A whole month went by and I called back in and couldn’t find that manager that I had documented talking to. She gave me a direct number and I ended up not even getting to talk to her. I had to go through three other employees. The last representative I talked to said he would help me. Then they couldn’t get an appointment again. I still had to wait a week for another guy to come back out and we were five weeks after the second call.

    Long story short, that guy came out and fixed the doorbell camera, but upon fixing it, he couldn’t get the lock to sync on the door, and he had to order another lock. So, he had to come out again a week later. But he called and requested the ticket to be left open or to have another ticket issued while he was here and he followed up with me a day later. He said that he ordered the new synced lock for the door and that it would be here the following week. He re-set up the appointment with me so I didn’t have to deal with anybody. Ultimately, they took care of the problem. Then Brinks signed me for another year, lowered my monthly fee a little bit, and waived my trip charge.

    Every single person was helpful, but then something happened. Like that retention manager, she thought she opened a ticket, and somebody closed it. Who knows if that’s true, or she just dropped the ball. The next person was nice and tried to handle everything. The only person that wasn’t helpful was the independent contractor that came the first time. Overall, it’s operating fine now.

    We were having some issues with our previous provider, and a Brinks person contacted me and I volunteered to talk to him. After going through the system with them, it appeared like they knew what they were doing, so we signed on with them. Customer service has been good. I've been able to get ahold of somebody. We had a problem the other day and they addressed it quickly, so it's been satisfactory. But, there are times where I wanted to have somebody come out and check something, and it took a little while. But everybody deals with that. So outside of that, everything is okay. In comparison, our old system was not very up-to-date. So now, we have it on our phone apps and we can change and adjust it even away from home with the app, which is easy to use. It is definitely a lot more modern than it used to be, so we enjoy that.

    We have had a couple of technical issues and the Brinks people on the phone were not helpful at all and I had to spend well over an hour. One time, I made about three different attempts at calling and talking through the issue with someone on the phone. They didn’t have the technical expertise and couldn’t help me solve the problem remotely, so they had to send someone out. At first, they wanted to charge me for it. I had to convince them that I shouldn’t have to pay for someone to come out to fix something that they couldn't help me fix over the phone. Moreover, I had to leave work to meet the technician at home. It was a hassle.

    The system was installed and the techs did a really crappy job and it didn’t work out. I just ended up going with Brinks to get it fixed because it seemed like nobody could fix that for some reason. Brinks techs were knowledgeable about the system, and they were able to fix the hardwired system. They did it under warranty. The tech went the extra mile by upgrading me us to 5G. We use the Total Control app all the time. I don’t like to get out of bed to set my alarm. I just hit it and it’s good to go. I get up in the morning and just walk around with my phone, instead of walking to the keypad. It may seem like a small deal, but doing everything on the phone is awesome. I would actually like to see about doing an automated home. I asked a couple people to look into it, and I really haven't got a great response. I don't know if Brinks does anything like that, but I’d like to do that.

    When I lived with my mother, we had ADT. I didn't care for them too much. So, I went with Monitronics at first. I've been with Brinks since 2009. It's a provider with a better service. I feel that their reps were pretty cool. It's just that the tech guy before the latest one that came to my house didn't do the job completely, and he wasn't communicating with Brinks completely. When I moved from my other location to my new location, he didn't install everything that he needed to install but the second guy came and took care of it. Right now, I got an issue with my doorbell camera, and I haven't had time to call to see what's going on with it, but it's not working properly. Other than that, I feel good having Brinks because I got sensors on everything that's in my home. So, I feel secure. I fell well and nice.

    I first had a contract with a company called First Alarm and at some point, they sold to Brinks. I had to deal with one guy who came out to reset my panel and he was very good. I don't like my panel at all because the numbers are too sensitive. I'm constantly putting in the number incorrectly if I don't hit the panel just right. But everything else works fine.     Three months in a row the alarm went off during the night. The arming pad was beeping in numbers by itself all 3 times. I had to dismantle the whole system as a tech was telling me what to do for 45 minutes while the alarm was screaming in my ears. I am in my 70s and suffering from lung cancer. It was not fun. Then they have the nerve to tell me it will be a service charge of $50 each time they come out. We do have a service contract but it’s always 31 days after the last service so we pay again.. I was told I have to pay a large fee to get out of my contract with them. I told them to fix it right or I am going to a new company. The serviceman they sent was wonderful but as it turned out the reason for the alarm misfiring was not told by the report from the company. He put it back together and no reason would be found.

    We live in an area that’s very rural and Wi-Fi Internet is not easily obtained. Brinks installed a system that operates through cellular. It is a superior system, their call center is right on top of it if the alarm goes off (by accident so far). When we have a power outage (happens a lot) we are notified within minutes and the backup system takes over. Their system panel and their smart phone app is extremely easy to use.     I've had a really good experience with Brinks. I've had a security system for 20 years or more. I've had Brinks for about five years. Originally, I got a security system because I traveled a lot and my wife was home alone. It's a big house in a good neighborhood, but she just felt more comfortable with a security system. As things progressed, I don't travel as much, but there were a lot more offerings with this security system than just the typical “monitor your doors and windows” security. They've added things like cameras inside and outside and camera doorbells. They also offer light switches, plugs, just all sorts of things. Quite frankly, my house is quite nice, just a completely electronically controlled house.

    I was able to add outside lights in a place I'm having to turn them on and off with a switch online, with their program through my security system of when to come on or off. Also, unlike most people, my actual overhead garage doors are monitored, so I have that additional security of my garage protected. They also have remote access, so if I've got a guy there working in my yard and he needs to get to my watering system, I can open a garage door, letting him get to what he needs to get to with all the rest of the house being totally protected. He can turn and close the garage door when he's done. The system has evolved from a simple security system to a very complicated integrated system that basically can control your entire house now. I keep upgrading all the time and adding things.

    One of the things Brinks did just recently that I like is they've taken everything in-house. I've had a security system before. When I recently got my security system, it was through another company that Brinks bought. And after they bought this company, they were still outsourcing two things. They were outsourcing through dealers for sales and repairs, which was a royal pain in the butt. All that's been taken internally now, and it is like 10 times smoother.

    Especially the service techs that they used to use, they weren't just doing Brinks. They were doing whomever security. They’re service techs. One of the companies that I used before, it wasn't their equipment but it was another party's, so their push was on installation. It wasn’t repair because it wasn't their system. All they got was the money out of the repair. They weren't making money for the sale. So, sometimes it's a week or two before you could get them to come out. And even then, it was happenstance and they normally gave you at least a five-hour window and they couldn't narrow the field. They didn't really care.

    When Brinks took all this in-house service, it just changed their whole outlook on things because, all of a sudden now, "It's my system. If I piss this customer off, they're gonna have to go somewhere. "It means more to them now because they have a stake in the outcome. I was a huge move on their part in the right direction. I just had a service call recently and he just about blew me out of the water because it's not the thing that you would normally get. The guy came to change a sensor that was not working and while he was there, there was an upgrade to the system, he did the upgrade, tested the entire system from A to Z, and I'm just like, "Really? Are you going to do everything?" "Yes." You don't get that out of a lot of companies.

    And the communication with the service tech, they're very sensitive to other people's issues with life. Sometimes, you need a particular time and they're very good about working with you on trying to narrow that timeframe. It might be four hours. Even then, the tech that came out, I asked him, “I'm about 45 minutes from home. Would you give me a call when you're 45 minutes or an hour away?" We actually showed up at the house within two minutes of each other. There was no time wasted on his part or mine, either one, and I was able to continue my work until such time as I had to leave and meet them.

    They just make everything much more equitable. It even can change your attitude about the company when things like that happen and they happen in a positive manner. It can really just give you a whole new perspective of the fact that the company is customer-focused than when they were outsourcing things. It's something they're doing and it's near and dear to their heart because it's their customers.

    Our experience sucks right now because our system is so wiped out. We cannot control it. I can’t open the garage door off of my phone and my camera does not work. I’ve tried to get up there and fix it but I don’t do ladders that well because of my knee surgeries. We’ve had Brinks for a couple of years now but I was with Vivint before and they sold the contract out. We stayed with whoever we were given because we had been given to somebody else before Brinks but now, we’re starting to see a little difference. I’m frustrated. Brinks’ guys came out and everything was working but now, it’s not working again. Then we pay the $50 but why are we paying for the parts? Is it like the first visit, you get free and everything else, you get mailed? If something goes wrong with the system, Brinks does call us though. We had no problems with that. It’s just trying to get these parts running right. But they really can’t say it’s their fault.

    It’s been pretty good so far with Brinks. I have regular monitoring service. Customer service has been fair. If I had issues, I can’t get through right away though especially after hours.     Having any dealing with this company has been a major financial burden for 7 years now. I cancelled their service in 2013 and had to move across the state. I was told to write in a letter and notify of cancellation which I did. I kept getting billed for over a year. Repeated calls requesting the same thing (cancellation) achieved nothing. I repeatedly sent written notifications (billing address was new so they knew I didn't live there) then had to use DocuSign to complete my cancellation in 2017 which I was assured completed the transaction. March 21st of this year, I received a debt collection notice for this company again and upon calling, I find out is NOT cancelled. I still have the docusign cancellation. Repeated calls to customer service has resulted in the pass around or just placing on hold and not returning. 3 times now... on hold now. DO NOT INVOLVE YOURSELF WITH THIS COMPANY!

    When I moved into my house, the Brinks reps were going door-to-door. A guy came in here and sold me on the package. Their customer service has been great and really helpful. But I'm not in love with the system. I’ve had some interesting issues with it that we had to solve. It malfunctions a little bit and it’s a little funky, but I don’t know much about security systems other than that. The person who came out to fix one of the sensors was great too. By having the security system, I'm a little secure. I'm satisfied with the experience.

    Dealing with customer service is all right, but all they wanna do is upgrade your system and sell you more equipment. Then if they maintain their systems instead of waiting until you call for repairs, it would be a lot better customer service. I’ve had this system for seven years and they figured out that when I was having problems with it, the system had not been upgraded. I had a bunch of false reports and a bunch of problems with the liquid screen on them. But unless I call, no one calls to see if it's been upgraded, or what system it's running on. They sent a Brinks tech out and he just punched the code and reset the software.

    I live in Amarillo, Texas and I don't see how they're making any money when they send a guy all the way from Dallas, Texas, which is about a five-hour drive one way. He has to spend the night, and then go back, or maybe he had more calls. That’s a lot of mileage they're paying. I have a business and I wouldn’t operate it that way. They also used a contractor out of Lubbock, Texas, which is 120 miles. The company that set up the equipment in the original is out of Amarillo, but they don’t use them because of some type of dispute over service call amount.

    Brinks took over the company that we had. We're going on our fifth year with our alarm company and it's been transferred multiple times. I didn't see any issues with the system working day-to-day. But being informed as a customer that things were changing, we were never told, "Hey, you originally signed the contract with this company and it got this company, and then now it's Brinks." We had to go change a new login and it wasn't hard. It was just I felt like more communication could have been done on the business side of things to the consumer.

    We are operating on the same system but I would like to know, as a customer, if there are any upgrades or anything that's new. The feature that we use every day is the garage door opener on the alarm.com app. We don't even carry garage door openers anymore in our cars. But if there's anything else out there that's changed, then I'm not aware of it as of right now with Brinks.

    Also, they should help customers with cameras. When I called in to purchase the camera, it was like $300 and then there's a monthly fee. I went out and bought an Arlo camera system and got three cameras for about 500 bucks and I paid no monthly fee. I feel like with an alarm company, I would like to have everything on one app versus having to use two apps. The only thing I can see that Brinks should improve is to make it where it's more reasonable versus going out and buying a competitor's camera and use what's available to me with that same company. Other than those, every issue that we've had, we've called in to the 1-800 number and they've been resolved. We've never had anything where I felt like I had to call somebody higher up. The customer service has been fine so far.

    I had purchased my security system about 15 years ago before it was Brinks. It was Monitronics, and it was somebody before that. I got it so that I could have security in my home. I’m a single person, and I needed extra security. Brinks upgraded the system. They put a different brain in it. A gentleman came out, tried his best to fix it, and it didn’t get fixed. I had to call the service center for about four times. After the fourth time, whoever I got on the phone finally got the right codes in. And so, it did fix it to where it wasn’t going off.

    The people that I’ve spoken with over the phone have all been very helpful. They did what their program said to do. It’s just they didn’t realize which codes because my system is an older system. They were trying to put in the new codes to a newer system. This is a older system, so they didn’t have the right codes. But every one of them tried very hard to make it work.

    Brinks has always treated me really well. The price is comparable to everyone else. I can call and say, “Hey, I’ve been with the company a long time,” and they do give me the choice of paying for a year ahead of time, which I have done since I’ve had the service. I have received an extra month free doing that. So, they do have options with someone being on a budget. They do have options to try and help out. I also do like that they do offer one move. If you ever have to move, you don’t wanna start back over from start. They’ll either move it or upgrade it at the new place. I do appreciate the company. I’m very happy with them. I won’t change.

    The only problem I had was one of the sensors fell off the door. Brinks wanted to charge me $150 to come out and replace it. I didn't appreciate that so we left it the way it was. But we needed to get that thing put back on and I called them back. I told them why would they wanna charge me to fix it. They came out, replaced it, and only charged me $25. Other than that, I haven’t had any problems. I like the fact that it announces when my door is open. But we wanna upgrade. My husband would like to have the camera.

    This morning I wake up to credit agency drop of over 100 points on my score. Brinks turned me in for a delinquent account because my card on autopay expired four months ago. Didn't even reach out to me one time before turning this in. I've never missed a bill payment in my life. Every other company I autopay with sends me an email that I need to update payment method. I paid right away and they won't reverse their reporting. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. THEY HAVE MANY SHADY BILLING AND REPORTING REVIEWS ON HERE.     I had Brinks for 2 year and finally I was glad that this was time to cancel the service because I made a mistake by making an agreement for 2 years. 2 years of bad service they never called me or police for any of the problem we have had. If the alarm went off they never called the police or me either. I finally found out 1 and half year later of brinks security service that I need to contact the county and fill the form for police to be notify. Wow such a terrible service and if I had to do that I should have been told on the first day. I never had to do it with the other company I am with today ADT my recommended company. Best service ever.

    Worst cancellation policy: I called to cancel and they did not wanted to cancel the service and was very very rude on the phone. Customer service guy told me that I have no reason to cancel the service and I purposely send the cancellation on the wrong email when I called them 2 week later after finding out I have never received any email and they charged me for another month of service which I had already cancel for.

    After 2 week of cancellation I had to call again which is today and the lady told me that it was sent to the wrong email so the same customer service guy have to contact me because he was my initial representative like I care. I just want my service cancel. What is so wrong with that? Now she was also very rude and told me she can't do anything for me. At this time I am awaiting for cancel service. I have already paid month and half of service that I have not receive and not it was not my fault that the customer service guy sent the cancellation docusign to wrong email (which I believe is a lie also). So I do not recommend brinks and I need to have my money back.

    We have had this service for 15 years. I got a call today 3/26/20 @ 10:26am about an overdue payment. I find out the auto payment card on file expired. I told the collections person I will take care of the payment after I get off work, because my wife takes care of this payment. He goes into explaining I will continue to get collection calls until it is taken care of "Sounds threaten to me". I explained to him that comment is not necessary during this Coronavirus situation, because there're hundreds of customer without paychecks right now. He talked over me and then hung up the phone. "They say all calls are recorded." That call should be reviewed.

    I called back and asked to report the collections representative. The lady said she will pass it on. Three hours and 15 minutes later I get another call. I asked her to check the notes from earlier, and she starting with the same comments about getting calls until it is paid. I explained to her I told him earlier I will pay when I get home. I guess the earlier call was not payment arrangements. After I got home I called the corporate number listed online, and he could not figure out who I needed to talk to. Brinks thanks for this interaction today. I have been putting off shopping for another service until today. Hard times are coming. I hope your company will make it through this....

    The reason I chose this company is the name recognition. But I wish they offered more like a panic alarm, a little bit of easier access so you don't have to go through the menu. The system itself is good though. The only complaint I have is back when I got the company, it was called Monitronics and any time the alarm would go off, they would automatically call us through the pad but they don't do that anymore. Brinks never calls me if a door gets accidentally opened and the alarm goes off. So half the time, I don't know if they're monitoring it or not. But the service side has been good, as far as the people who come out representing Brinks. It's just the way that they're monitoring it that I don't feel comfortable with.

    I have Brinks and I like that I get the emails to remind me to set the alarm up or when it has been disengaged. I also like that it's less expensive than the other company I had. The tech I've had is good too. But there was that one time when I called Brinks and they didn't know how to solve my problem. I felt that the system wasn’t working right. When somebody was still in the house and I was leaving, I wanted to set the alarm and leave me time to be able to get out of the door but I didn't know how to do that.

    The person I was talking to on the phone didn't know how to use the system or even realize what kind of system I had. At first, she was telling me about a system that I didn't even have. That was why we were having trouble with communication and it wasted a good 30 minutes. If they pull up my name, they should be able to look at it and see what system I have so that they know how to answer my questions. If there was more than one system that Brinks uses, then that should be automatic. It was not her fault though. It makes her look stupid when truthfully, she doesn't have the stuff at hand to be able to answer the question intelligently because they didn't give it to her. Then she finally figured out what system I had. But in the end, I had to figure it out myself and it was frustrating.

    Also, two months ago, a guy took the old system out and he was gonna take it with him and he didn't even ask me. I had to ask him for the system 'cause I didn't know if ADT was gonna want it back. That was a little suspicious to me. Some people don't wanna be bothered with it but it should be an option that they at least ask whether the customer wants it or not. For the most part, though, everything has been good as far as customer service.

    We had an issue a few weeks ago and some sensors went out. The appointment was made and the gentleman showed up a little bit early, which is always good. He came in and I told him what the issue was. He checked the stuff, called somebody, and then he knew what the issue was. He changed three sensors out for me and tested the system and it worked. He was very professional and he showed me some things about the alarm system that I didn't know about originally. He was a real sharp guy and he really represented Brinks very well.     I've had another alarm security before and they were just lousy. I paid a lot for that system and they wouldn't send people out to work on it. I couldn't get it to quit going off in the middle of the night. Every time I've had any problem at all, the people will come out and service it if it has Brinks and that's 24-hour security here in Lubbock. Brinks is so much better. There's no comparison. I've had a couple of smoke detectors go wacky and they've been right here to fix it every time. They also did not charge me anything for it. I am totally completely satisfied with them.

Their equipment is good but there was a component that was broken and I was given an extremely hard time.     I noticed that my cameras plus my doorbell weren’t working since March the 16th. I finally got them yesterday and Brinks fixed it. I like the doorbell camera the best. It's just that I don’t have a feature that I had before when I had ADT--when an animal or a person or something would come by, it would circle it and it would be in different colors. One would be blue and yellow, and one would be red, and would say animal or a person or a vehicle. I talked to them about it, but they said they didn’t have it.

    It was horrible when my house got vandalized but, Sue, the person from the executive response team earned her job. I was willing to just pay the $700 and be done with the contract. But Sue is the only reason that I am still with Brinks. She definitely helped me. She empathized and sympathized. I requested for the two different calls to be reviewed on what was being told to me and she reviewed both of them. Then she called me back and explained how everything would work. She was excellent and everything she said was resolved within 48 hours. They were overwhelmed with technicians, so they had to find another company to come out to make the repairs to my alarm system. They had Patriot Monitoring out here. The system is perfectly fine and having it definitely makes me feel at ease. Some people don’t know that they're gonna be in a contract. So just be aware of the contract when getting their system.

    When we were trying to punch in the code, the panel wasn't taking it. It needed to be replaced. The tech knew exactly what he was talking about and proceeded quite smoothly. He walked me through everything that was being done. He also showed me how to change the color on the doorbell ringer, which I hadn't been shown before. He then left me his phone number in case I had any more questions. I'd recommend him for a raise. The new panel is somewhat different and we're still adapting a little bit, but we're getting used to it. However, it is way faster. I can stand outside the door, tell it to disarm by remote and I'd suddenly hear the panel doing it. One second later, it's disarmed.

    We had ADT and then when we called and tried to upgrade, Brinks came out to upgrade. They were very helpful and very thorough. They showed us how to use everything. Due to the circumstances, they gave us a great deal on everything we got because we had a break-in. My wife and kids were worried and she called. We got a package that was ridiculously outrageous-priced and we only had to pay $299 for it. Everything's good so far with the system. I'm happy with it. There are cameras around now and there's a recording being done. My family feels somewhat safer than we used to.

    Very cheap equipment with multiple failures. 1, First panel would not fire up-2 hours on phone, mailed another panel. 2. Second panel will not charge battery. 7-10 low battery codes daily. 3. Window sensor malfunction -triggers alarm in error. 3. More time on phone with Brinks. I paid $50 for another battery and replacement sensor from Brinks as Brinks tech said that was the problem. 4. Second battery made no difference. Called Brinks again-1.5 hours troubleshooting on the phone. Told I could have a replacement battery when they received my brand new battery back--but I am responsible for shipping. Suggestion- Don't use Brinks.

    When I bought my home, there were like eight representatives reaching out to me. But I ended up getting a Brinks brochure in the mail and I liked all the features that they offer. I've been here for two years now and I haven’t had any problems with Brinks. For the television, if something breaks, you gotta call. But with Brinks, all of my wires and everything are still perfect.

    The technicians were good and quick and any time I've called, the folks have been very helpful. It’s just the subdivision that I’m in. My internet is messing up sometimes and in a certain part of my house, like if I’m in my room and I’ll be trying to log on to the system to see somebody at the door or I’ll be trying to look at the kids outside, it would take a minute because it’d be trying to connect. But then when I get up and walk out my room or do a walk around the house, it would work. So it’s not the system itself. It’s with this Wi-Fi. That aside, everything is good and I'm excited. In fact, I have been turning all my friends on to Brinks and with all this virus going on, people are calling me back.

    I had something going on with the sensor and it was almost the next day that someone from Brinks was out. Their customer service was pretty good. But sometimes, the doorbell cam blinks out if someone rings the doorbell. Then most of the time, I’m not gonna get a picture. And the sound, I have to be downstairs to hear the doorbell, which is wrong. I called twice about that and they sent two repairmen out. Then it got a little louder, but if the TV is loud, I’m not gonna hear it. I have to wait to get the alert on the phone or on my watch.

    We started with Monitronics. They had the best deal at the time then the next thing we knew, it was Brinks. But Brinks is well-known too, so we’re good. The only thing I have a complaint about Brinks is that ever since Brinks took over, we are getting bills that say we're late. That bugs us. My bank, USAA, sends out a check every month, on the first. We're never late and we know Brinks has gotten that check. I don’t know if it’s a miscommunication between departments or just what it is. We never had this problem before until it switched over.

    Other that that, so far, the customer service has been really good except for one guy. He gave my husband a really bad time and it royally ticked me off so I took care of it. And I got it taken care of to my satisfaction so we were good. When I started saying I wanted to speak to his supervisor, things improved so much. The guy they sent out to install the fire alarm that connects into the security was great as well. We greatly appreciated a gentleman that knew his business. So that helped a lot. He also upgraded the panel so that was great.

    I got Brinks as a package deal offered with the purchase of my home. I had an alarm go off once. I was at an event, and I wasn’t thrilled with the way it was all handled. I didn’t receive any kind of a follow-up as to what happened. Since I was not home I had no idea what was going on, and I didn't know why the alarm went off. I was not told if anyone responded or what they found. And when I called to inquire they did not seem to be able to get any of that information.     We had an issue where the alarm went off and the police came, but we weren't home. There was a screw that wasn't in the box. The guy came out and fixed it. But one day last week, we got another alarm when we were away. Brinks called me right away and I said no. It was an excellent call and I'm very happy about that. With all the stuff that's going on here with the virus, we haven't been to the house and have the away system on. Only one thing went off and it was the hallway. And the hallway light there was from our old alarm system. We're gonna have to wait and see, however, if that happens again, I'm gonna give Brinks a call. But otherwise, we've been very pleased with it.

    I was new to the area and the person who did the home inspection gave me a choice. I chose Brinks primarily because they said it was the company run by veterans. It was installed a year ago and when I changed the windows, somebody came by to put the sensors on the new windows. I had called them that I was gonna get new windows installed and asked them what I should do in terms of turning off the alarm. I got so many different advice, none of which really worked. Fortunately, the window installer did not remove the sensors from the old windows so I didn't have to buy new ones to install.

    The system works fine for my purposes and I'm satisfied with the way it is now. The only thing is to be able to turn off the alarm without having to come to the box itself to do it. In other words, if I went to the garage and I opened the garage, that I could go through the back door without having to come back out to the front door. That’s my major thing right now. Other than that, I haven't had any major problems with it.

    I’ve had Brinks for several years now and I haven’t had a problem. The installer from Brinks came out recently to install my system because I moved. The guy was very competent and did a good job but he was apparently overworked. He had a long day at my house and he still had to go to somebody else’s house. So, that was difficult for him and because of that, he didn’t get our signs or stickers for the windows. But I called Brinks today because I was having trouble with the app on my phone and they were very helpful.

    I’ve had my security services since I purchased my house. Recently, the Brinks techs fixed my alarm. The guy was really nice. When he left, everything was perfect. Supposedly, he fixed in my doors so I didn't have to do the bypass but I still have to do the bypass when I'm home, so I guess something is not working properly. If I put it from my house, I can do the bypass but if I wanna put it through my phone, I cannot do it. I have to call back so they can go back but I haven't been home. When I am home, I don’t have the time for the tech to come.

    Brinks is a well-known company but they have never come and fixed my issue and I’ve given up on getting somebody out here. I used to have a Honeywell outfit and they gave me an app but it was never there. I was never able to control what was going on. To this day, even with Brinks, they have not come out like they said they would or helped me in any way. The only thing that works is if the door is ajar. That works beautifully. A red light comes on. But I'm disgusted with the whole thing. I haven’t even received any information about the camera features. They just said it's on the website.

    My installers are great. They’re always very responsive, make sure everything is done right, and ask me if I got any questions. And the Brinks system works. Every once in a while, I forget I have it on in the morning, then set it off. But otherwise, it’s fine. I can set it and exclude certain doors so that I could go out and be in the hot tub and have the rest of the house secured. And there’s a moisture feature for the basement -- I’ve got a sump pump down there, fire alarm, and intrusion alarm. Also, I have a separate system that just has cameras recording in our hard drive. It’s pretty well set.

    The techs from Brinks came ou, fixed my camera and lowered my rate. I’m paying $37 a month now. It made me happy because I’m just living on social security now, and I need to cut all expenses that I can. The equipment is working fine and all the doors are working good.     We initially had ADT and we transferred over to Brinks. It's been a good experience and we stuck with them. It was a disaster in the beginning though. They told me they were gonna be here in early December to install. The installer said he need another part to come in and that timeframe was when he was supposed to show up, then he didn’t call for three weeks after I took off a day at work and made sure it was a home office day. I called Brinks again after the New Year and around January. I finally got the system installed some time in February. They gave me January and February.

    First of all, I was really upset, so I just cancelled my contract. They said they were gonna charge me a fee for breaking my contract, which nothing had ever been installed to begin with. Once the guy was scheduled, there was another interruption with getting a part in again for the install. I had to wait another couple of days, but once it came in, he took care of everything rather quickly. The quality of the equipment is good too.

    They're fast to react and anytime I got an issue. I would call and they would take care of it. The only thing is I wanted a spotlight that shines when somebody comes on the property. Other than that, I'm happy with everything else. The technician I had was very knowledgeable about the equipment. I recently had a camera put in my backyard and he was very nice about how to operate it. He wanna wire the features with me.

    I have had Brinks for a few years.. I have had a couple of alarms tripped... and I got a text message, and that was it. They don't send people out. Also they will not service you after installation, they are very sugary to get the initial sale... but then it's all attitude. So frustrating.. Don't do it!

    After we dropped our landline for our internet, we realized we didn’t have a security system because it ran off of a landline. I called Brinks and a young, inexperienced customer service rep said that I had to buy this and that and get a contract. We were buying a home in Florida so that wasn’t feasible for us to do. I said to just drop the contract in its entirety. Every company has inexperienced trainees or customer service reps that don’t know everything and anything and all that kinda stuff. But when we got to the knowledgeable people, it was extremely good. Somewhere along the line, I popped up to some management and he gave me a call. He set up some other kind of arrangement and things have been extremely well ever since I had the conversation. It was very refreshing. He kept me on board and changed things over so that it would become a wireless receiver. It has been one of the best things that we’ve ever done.

    I'm thinking very highly of Brinks' system. With it, my security is 100% better. Brinks does electronic monitoring and send messages like: “Your system is unarmed” and, “Your system is armed.” I also have email on my phone, so I see that they are periodically monitoring the system. And it pops up on the internet, which is on my phone. And now, we bought an independent outside camera with a monitor in the kitchen. My experience has been really positive and I'm going to find out if Brinks is available down here in Florida.

    My Realtor had a friend that worked with Monitronics. They came out and they hooked it up. Then, Brinks bought them out. At the beginning, I didn't like it because things didn’t work. We never used our alarm system for about a year and a half. I just let it go. Then, I ended up calling just recently and we had a guy come out. He did really good and said that they were trying to make customer service a lot better.

    There are new features that the gentleman showed us when he first came out and updated everything. It didn't cost us anything and I really liked that. The phone helps out a lot to where we can turn it off and on. That’s a good feature because before, it used to go off and say that our back sliding door was open, and it wasn’t. There was no way for us to turn it off unless we drove all the way home and put in the code and turn it off. Now that we have the phone, we can just turn it off. That was why we were upset and we never used it for a year and a half. I even tried to cancel and they were gonna charge me whatever the amount was for those next months. It was a three-year contract which I didn't know until afterward.

    I had an issue one time and I made a phone call to tell them what was going on. They did a little bit of a diagnosis over the phone which turned out to probably not be right. They said they would get a representative out here. They set up an appointment for me and they told me it would be a $50-charge for whatever it was and I told them I could do that. The technician was fabulous. Right now that he upgraded the heck out of it, I'm happy. The system is operating the same way it was previously which was fine. I could arm or disarm it from the phone, I could do it from the key fob, or I can do it from the panel. I had no problems before and I don't anticipate it will have any now.

    I like the alarm part with Brinks but I still get frustrated with the camera. Sometimes we'll have a camera come up and there's nothing there. Every little breeze makes it go off. Then when somebody's there, it won't work. Nothing shows up. And the app is confusing to me. The door is constantly beeping and that side door is being motioned. I tried to shut it off and we can't even make it stop beeping. It drives me crazy. We had them down because of it. We turned things off and it still keeps doing it. It wasn't long after their tech left, it kept saying the basement door was open. And that's not true because it's locked and barred but it kept saying the motion was not working or something. He came back and fixed that. I'm not happy if we have to pay for that second trip back. But the guy that comes down is very nice.

    I want to feel more secure and so I got a home security system. I've been with Brinks for a while. I started off with Monitronics. Brinks was kind of given to me involuntarily because Monitronics was bought out by whomever, and then Brinks ended up with Monitronics. As far as the system, I’ve never had an incident so I never really had to use it in that way but it makes me feel secure. It’s great to have and not need it than to need and not have it. So, I have it and it’s useful for just the peace of mind.

    My camera had been malfunctioning because I upgraded my Wi-Fi. I reached out to them and someone was gonna come and fix it. The woman tried to troubleshoot over the phone and it just was not working with me. So, they wanted to charge me this ungodly amount of money to come out and fix it. At which point, I was not willing to do that. I pay all this money for Brinks and I also pay for another house I own, and when I really need something to be fixed, I have to pay for it. I didn’t think that was too fair. I called and I was gonna cancel it, and I spoke to retention who was able to work something out for me. They sent someone out. We set up a time for the person to come out. He was wonderful. He explained everything to me and taught me a couple other things that I didn’t know about the system. He fixed it in less than a couple of hours because he had a couple things to do. That experience was great.

    I inherited Brinks when they merged with Monitronics, which I've had for 20 years. I reached out to Brinks about a radio failure. It wasn't particularly positive with the first rep but I called right back and got somebody else who was super and very helpful. The tech that came out was the same one who installed it 20 years ago and he was great. He fixed it, got on the line, and checked it out with the dealer services. He was in and out. It's functioning perfectly since. I wouldn't go without Brinks. I have a heat detector, which is far better than using smoke alarms. Smoke alarms go off too often. If there's a fire in the kitchen, it's gonna go. I really like knowing and feeling secure about that.

    The fire alarm kept going off and it wasn’t recharging a new battery that we had put in. My husband was on the phone with Brinks for an hour before he could talk to technical support. When we could finally get to a person, the customer service was okay. They’ve been courteous. The fellow that came out was really nice, but then we had an issue afterward.     The service with Brinks has been good until this last week. A couple of weeks ago, they called me and said they needed to upgrade it. A technician came out and upgraded it while I was at work. Then last week, I was at work and my husband and his caregiver were here. I was with a patient and I kept getting all these messages that the alarm was going off. I called home and I asked what was going on. The caregiver said they were just sitting here in the living room doing nothing and the alarm just went off. She didn’t know how to disarm it. The police was dispatched. I don’t know how it got armed because I didn’t arm it. It was quite alarming.

    I called and the girl that I talked to on the phone said she was looking and our batteries were okay. That’s about all she told me. She said she didn’t know what happened. I got a letter from the police saying that if it goes off again like that, I owe them $50. And it keeps going up every time the police come on a false alarm. If it goes off again, I'll have the system removed because I can’t afford that. Until that guy came out and upgraded it, I wasn’t having any problems.

    Monitronics was a whole lot better than Brinks. When Brinks bought it, my alarm system tore up in July and I got it repaired in February. I still paid the monthly payment for seven months with no alarm system. I canceled it now. I still had a 13-month contract that I had to pay so much money to get out of that I never even signed.

    When their tech came out in February and repaired it, the next day, it keeps showing my front door opening instead of my laundry room. I thought they’ve come to fix it, but if I go back to get somebody to get in there and open the door and close it again, sometimes I can set it. But other than that it wasn’t fixed. They said my equipment had a lifetime warranty, and my panel needed upgrading so, they sent a company out for $50 to upgrade my panel but I never did get a new panel.

    One lady told me that because I’ve had so much trouble, she was gonna lock my rate in at $15 a month. Little did I know, it was another contract that she’s putting me in over the phone so, I had to get all that stuff reversed. It’s been a mess. If somebody wants something out of my house, I’d rather them just steal it than stay with the alarm company. It’s been a headache.

    I updated my services, and I didn't have any issues with it. I had an old box and the technician went with the new technology where you can use your cell phone. I like the system. The only downside is that if you had an older Honeywell system that was Brinks, the new system they install doesn’t interface if you want low temperature on your smoke detector to work. They have to shut that sensor off because it doesn’t recognize low temperature. If I wanted it, the technician said I had to call back and ask Brinks to have a low temperature sensor put on and pay extra. But that was part of the old system. I had an IQ Panel 2 and that does not interface. Other than that, I'm happy.

    The technician that was here was upset he had to make two trips because my system didn't work. He left here, and four hours later, alarm went off saying the smoke detector was malfunctioning. That’s when they found out that if you had a Honeywell Brinks system before, that the smoke detectors had two sensors in them from Honeywell. In my case, it was called Zone 5 and Zone 6. When the technician was here installing it, he couldn't install Zone 6, so it went from Zone 5 to Zone 7. Brinks and the technician were battling it out on whose fault it was because he had to come back at no charge and he wasn’t happy.

    A long time ago, it wasn't Brinks on my security. Back then, they had a pretty good system that was just coming into the market. Brinks got the most sufficient and top equipment that I see back then, going back 20 or 30 years. When I came out here, I tried ADT, but I wasn’t too comfortable with them. They’re saying that they had cameras and monitors that watch your house but I didn’t ask them for all of that. I just asked them how was the security system. I joined them but I had to pay the contract fee. My friend told me, “Why don’t you try Brinks? They just came out.” They were MONI back then and I went with them. They told me, “Don’t leave. Stay with the company ‘cause it’d be to your advantage.” And here I am today.

    The guy that came to my house was very efficient, very knowledgeable, and he taught me how to put the system on my phone. That’s only for the inside, though. I got four cameras on the outside. But a friend of mine that was in the military put it up for me. I’m trying to get that to show on my screen in the house and also on my phone but nobody wants to touch it because it didn’t come from Brinks. All I gotta do is buy me a small TV screen to put in the front room. But that’s no good because if I’m in the bedroom, I wanna see what’s going on on the outside as well. If it could be done by Brinks, I would like it. But if I gotta pay extra for it, then I just gotta pay extra. But at least I know that I will have everything covered from the front yard all the way to the backyard.

    As it is now, my security system is not 100% accurate. I have a monitor that when somebody comes to my house, it picks up. But my wife thought it was broken. I don't know why she thought that way but she took it in and threw it away. So now, when somebody comes in my front living room, I don’t have an alarm system. I just got it downstairs in the basement.

    We’re pretty safe since having Brinks. Everything's up to par. I still got a few issues because we got a monitor on the window and every time I lift the window up, it doesn’t see anything on the home base. In my son’s room, it goes off. Downstairs in the basement, when you open the backdoor, it goes off. But it won’t go off here in the bedroom and I don’t know why. I tell my wife to lift up the window while I'm out in the living room. I said, “You lift up the window?” She said, “Yeah,” but I don’t have anything saying that the bedroom window opened.

    I also wanted the scanner that when you leave the house, it would then come on. But they told me they had to charge me for them. I was like, “How much you wanna charge me?” They gave me a ridiculous price. I said, “No man. Come on now. This way, my house is vulnerable. If people come to the front door, nothing’s gonna happen. If something did, if they go out the door, then the alarm will go off, and then by the time the alarm goes off, they’re gone." Overall, the service is good. It’s just that I just gotta get some loose ends tied up. I’m away from my house a lot, my wife goes to work, and my son is in school, so the house is vulnerable.

    I’ve always had Brinks. My experience has been good. The quality of my equipment is okay so far. It’s just that when they put the new panel in, it went out the next day. They came out about five days later and replaced it. Right now, everything is fine.     I used Monitronics and Brinks bought them out, so I've had them since 2005. But I was very, very unhappy last week. They put my new system in my home and it didn’t work, and it didn’t work for a week. The system wasn’t very good. They put a new system in and it worked when the technician left. I called them and I had them remove the chime off the garage door and nothing worked. I had three representatives on the phone and they tried to charge me for getting it up and working but I just had it installed, so I told them I wasn’t paying. And besides that, the guy that put it in said there was a 30-day warranty on it. I didn’t pay and they sent somebody out. His name was Jason and he was very nice. He did a good job. I have an app on my phone and I like that. I don’t have any trouble using the system. But I’m not thrilled with it. They got it fixed. But I'd tell people to get ADT because they have a better system.

    One time, the backup battery was not charging, and the reps from Brinks came right out and got it set up. I haven't had problems with them at all. I’ve been with Brinks for five years and the customer service has been very good. I got to speak to a person on the phone and not have to deal with automated stuff.     I had some people stealing from me while I was in Atlanta, Georgia and because of Brinks, the law was able to get there and catch them red-handed. I've had a good experience with Brinks except for the installation. I contacted their customer service because my shop was supposed to be included with the house but it wasn't. They came out there and decided that they needed to hardwire it. So, I had to trench the line bearing both the wire and all that good stuff. Then, they didn't come back. So, I called and fussed a little bit. Then four weeks ago, the company came back out and finished the job but they decided that Brinks wanted to charge me 'cause it had been over a year. Then the time I got through a person, they decided they'd just go ahead and honor the contract. Other than that, I'm satisfied with the system. It's pretty straightforward to use. They also give me regular updates whenever I don't have the system engaged.

    So far, everything I’ve had service-wise from Brinks has been amazing. If my battery was low, they’d call me and walk me through the process of how to change out my batteries in my system. Also, when their guy came out, he was so on point. He went over my system and told me about it. There were certain parts in my system that were out of date because I have an older home, and he was telling me the upgrades that I could do that would benefit us in the long run as far as that stuff goes. Then, he showed me prices online such as what I would be paying if I added those things. So, he gave me a perspective of what else I can do and I’m a big fan of that specific person. Aside from that, since the little spin wheel on my sign was broken on the outside and the sign faded for Brinks, he put a brand-new one in on that same day. And since having Brinks, we’ve been able to trust all of our stuff as far as everything goes.

    I have had Brinks Home Security installed in my home since last August. This was through a third party Baby Blue Limited Liability. Their system seemed to work the first month, but now nothing is working including the front camera, back camera, door bell. Kayla, the lady from Baby Blue who got us in this contract has been avoiding our calls. Any technical person they send are incapable of fixing this issue. If I call Brinks, they say they cannot cancel my agreement since it is through a third party. And when they transfer me to the third party, they keep on ignoring my call, or say they'll charge me 80% of remaining monthly balance, even though the reason I am cancelling is because the system doesn't work.

    Why would anybody want to pay for something that is not working? These people have been extremely unhelpful, and I would not recommend anybody to get their home security either through Brinks or this third party agent Baby Blue. Please avoid these two companies for your own sanity. I would give them negative rating but since 1 is the lowest one available, so I had to select that.

    I originally got my alarm system through Monitronics in 2011 and then, they changed to another one, and then to Brinks. When it was Monitronics, in a matter of seconds, I would get a call right away when I took too long to disarm my home sometimes. They would ask if everything was okay and let me know that they got a signal. However, with Brinks, there were a couple of times when my alarm has gone off and I didn’t get a call saying they’re getting a signal and that I might wanna check it out. I contacted the customer service team and they said it takes some time to register. I told them that it takes a minute or two to have anybody walk in the house and walk out with whatever they want.

    The minute there was a power outage or when my battery would start going low, Monitronics would call me, “Is everything okay? We noticed there's a reading on your low battery. Is everything plugged in?” But with Brinks, I don’t get any kind of calls. This is one reason I haven’t renewed my contract with them. I'm debating if I really want to.

    I referred new homeowners to Monitronics before and they also graciously recognized you for referring people. Brinks has a big name and when I got turned over to Brinks, I said that was great. It's a very known name. But Brinks didn’t show courtesy nor gave you a sign for your homes or your windows. I still have my Monitronics sign out there but I didn’t have anything like that with Brinks. You just automatically know that it's Brinks through the bill.

    I’ve been with Brinks for seven years and I like it. But recently, I've had some issues. There was a problem with our unit and their people came. Our unit was fine before. But because that unit was saying it was tampered and it was not reading it, they had to change it. But maybe they forgot how to set it up because it’s a new and different one. I don’t know anything about it. Now, it’s still having problems. The system is for a business and when the door is opened, it's not beeping at all. They fixed it probably two days ago. At nighttime, it's perfectly fine. We can secure the place. But during the daytime, we don’t know who’s walking in the shop. That's the biggest problem we have. It's been a couple of days since they fixed it and we didn't even notice.

    I was gonna call Brinks today because I need to fix this issue. We need to get set up with this one. Also, I need to get some help with the app. I downloaded it but I haven't used it at all which I need to know how to. If I’m not there and if I forgot how to put the alarm, I can put it in anywhere. Other than those issues, I’m perfectly fine with Brinks. I don’t wanna even change anything else. They do good customer service. With the billing, this and that, it’s perfectly fine. It's a nice service.

    Brinks came and said that they wanted to put a new little thing in my alarm to keep it updated and I said okay. So, they put it in and I started having problem after problem with the silly thing going off for no reason. The rep came back today and this is the third time he has come. He put a whole new apparatus in it and he says it's gonna work now. So, I'm gonna hope that it does. He was a very nice fellow and he felt very bad about my experience. It went off five times for no reason and I was ready to throw it out. I hope it's up to par now but it remains to be seen. He tested everything but he has done that before. The little thing that they put in just would not work and I would be sitting here and all at once, it would beep.

    I’ve been with Brinks since the 1990’s and the customer service has been good when I get somebody in the phone who speaks English. My ears are not as good as they used to be and when you get these foreigners on the telephone with an accent, sometimes, I can't understand a thing they're saying. But I have been very happy with Monitronics and now with Brinks. I have an opportunity of changing and saving $5 a month but I chose to stay with them because I knew what they did. Although now that I’ve had all these trouble, I’ve started wondering. Still, they’ve been good to me.

    I live in an association where the alarm through Protection One is included. But when I bought the house, I saw that the system was completely outdated. So, I started researching online for different alarm companies and I had something to Monitronics at the time. They offered a deal where they came in and they installed the upgraded, brand new system.

    Brinks' customer service has been great. Every time I reach out, they're always available. They even have weekend appointments and late in the evening appointments, which is very beneficial to me 'cause I work 'til late. Recently, I had them come out because there was a break-in nearby. I wanted to make sure that I had a full test of the entire system, that everything was up and running, and that the batteries were working well. They made themselves available, went ahead and tested the system and everything was fine. Also, the system is amazing. It's user-friendly. I have the touch screen app and I have it all connected with the electrical so everything is up to date.

    We've had some little issues here and there, but they seem to have it dialed-in now. When we bought the house, it was already there and it needed to be upgraded and some things needed to be done. They used to be all hardwired and the tech had to do some things where they didn't hardwire it. They had problems there. But pretty much it has been trouble-free. They came out and they took care of what needed to be taken care of. They upgraded a couple of things. So, it's all worked out really good.

    The tech is the same one that comes out all the time. He is very knowledgeable and a nice guy. He is fast and he knows what he is doing. So I was totally impressed by him. I like him. He easily does a good job. He's been out there about three times. The last time we called them, it took them a few days to get somebody out there, but the thing was working all right. So they walked me through it on the phone call to try to fix it, but there was a couple issues with the main battery. When anything goes wrong with it or anything comes on my app, they email me.
