    I have had Brinks Home Security system for one year, and I am extremely disappointed in their customer service. Every time I try to log in to my account my username is not available, so I call their customer service and my average hold time is 30 - 40 minutes and after 5 different attempts over 3 months each time their representative tells me their web is not working correctly. When I ask to have a code updated they transfer me and I get a call 3- 5 days later from a local tech who tells me he will charge me to assist. I have no visibility to my bills, and nothing but a customer service representative's word that I am even in a contract!!! The mobile app for monitoring the system is fine, but the service, billing and updates is horrible. Also when an alarm was triggered - twice now, they did not contact the police for 5 minutes. I am glad it was not a true emergency, or I would not have survived.

    Wonderful. When I call the Brinks number 800-447-9239 the message says they're open till 7 or 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Get the very next sentence is another voice that says thank you goodbye and hangs up the phone. This keeps happening month after month making it difficult to get billing and make a payment. Is the number turned off after hours and what are the hours, please. Thank you.

    I have been trying to deal with the customer service of this company for the last 4 weeks. It is absolutely unacceptable. They are giving you deals to keep you on the hook. I have been waiting for the technician to come to my house for the last 3 weeks. Less than 24 hours they are calling me and saying technician is not able to make it until the other 3 weeks... What am I paying for? For waiting? Thank you... but I can do it for free. Just spent 38 minutes on hold to speak with the manager... Apparently... nobody is available. What if it's an emergency? I have to sit and wait for that time to be robbed or killed? Absolutely horrible... I am cancelling my contract w/o any negotiation. I would rather pay a it more, but get help asap.

    My mom passed away at the age of 95 in Jan 2021. I was closing out her financial affairs when I was shocked to discover she was still being charged for alarm system monitoring. ADT had sent Mom a letter approximately four years ago stating if we didn't update our alarm system, they could no longer provide service. We chose not to update the system. Upon Mom's passing, I found out Discover was still paying for alarm "monitoring." (Brinks had now assumed the contract.)

    I called Brinks & Brent, a Sr Customer Advisor, said they were still providing service even though they hadn't received signal from our home for years. Brent stated that anyone could have called Brink's at any time to cancel. I told Bret I wanted to cancel & he immediately said I can't cancel without providing a Death Certificate. (So much for anyone being able to cancel at any time.) Even though Brinks/ADT had not been receiving a signal for years, they refused to give a refund, even a partial refund. Brinks are the thieves you need to worry about. If you have a relative suffering from dementia, make sure an alarm "monitoring" company isn't stealing from them.

    I changed cable providers and my system went offline. I called Brinks' hotline and they took care of it really quickly. Sometimes the music just keeps playing and you keep waiting but I don't think my experience was like that. Somebody answered the phone rather quickly and they walked me through the setup without anybody having to come visit. I was totally satisfied with everything that I had to go through. It was a very good experience. I stayed with Brinks because they're doing the job.

    My problems with Brinks started when my cameras disconnected from the internet. They sent techs to come reconnect them but each time I was told that since they were on the 2nd story they would have to reschedule. After 3-5 times of taking off work to meet them at the house I finally adjectives for a reduction in the price since they could not fix the cameras. They hesitantly agreed. I informed them that I was looking into a new security company because I was very disappointed that I could no longer access my cameras, and would this affect me leaving the company. I was told no, I could leave at any time. What I was not told was that if I decided to leave then I would need to pay the remaining months in the contract. The new terms were $38 for 48 months starting immediately in November of 2019. 48 months is 4 years, which means my contact should end in 2023.

    We are now moving and chatted online about moving the system. We were then given a 2024 end date. I called immediately and told them they had agreed a year to my contract. I was then told that it was not a renegotiation of my contact but an extension. They added the 48 months to my remaining balance instead of starting when I spoke to them. They have been constantly disappointing to do business with. I will never recommend them to anyone.

    Brinks is a customer service nightmare. As with every service, you will one day need to cancel that service—it is part of the experience you need to consider. You can ignore all the glowing reviews from those here who are happily using Brinks but haven't yet had to cancel it. They don't yet know the brick wall they're headed toward.

    When you're ready to cancel your Brinks service, this is what you can look forward to:

    1. First, you'll discover there is no option to cancel your service on the website or automated chat.
    2. Next, you will see there's an option to enroll in autopay on the website, yet there is no option to turn OFF autopay on the website or chat.
    3. Brinks will send no email notice before a payment is made—only after a payment has been processed.
    4. The only way to cancel your service is with a phone call—prepare to wait 30-60 min for an answer.
    5. That call then requires you to talk to their "Cancelation Department" which operates at reduced hours—call again later.
    6. They then require a signed document—for reasons the customer service agent will be unable to explain to you.
    7. There is a chance you won't receive this document (as I didn't) which they will not resend unless you repeat steps 1-6.

    8. It will then take 30 days to "process" said document ensuring you will pay an additional unnecessary month—with no mention of this in their Terms of Service.

    It's been 3 months, and I'm still working to get my service cancelled and funds refunded. I've seen bad customer service (even worked in it for a bit) but Brinks is, hand down, the most predatory of I've ever seen. It doesn't matter how good you are at what else you do if you can't treat your customers right when it's time to say go.

    We purchased another system which was bought out by Brinks. It appears this company is this large because it just goes out and keeps purchasing other smaller companies, forcing people to sign long leases to continue service and then holding them to those whether they move, service breaks down or any other reason. We had two homes on service with Brinks. We called over a year ago to have the monthly charges reduced from $49/mo to $29. We are now outside the 3yr window on the contract. On both properties. This was NEVER done. We called months ago letting them know that the systems were no longer working and the leases were still never cancelled.

    We called last month again asking to have service cancelled. And when we were billed again this month and called AGAIN we were told that we had DocuSigned last month for only cancellation. However, we have no record of ever receiving the DocuSign. We have checked our email and it was never sent to us. We have spent HOURS on the phone with Brinks trying to resolve this. We are consistently told that when cancelled they need 30 days to cancel so you get charged one more time even though this service has NOT worked for over 4 months at either location.

    This company makes their money off of signed long term monitoring NOT off of customer service or actual monitoring. Be very careful if you consider using Brinks. They are not reputable, not easy to work with nor do they care about the customer. My recommendation is go with ADT. We used them years ago for years and they are much more aligned with taking care of customers. We have spent over an hour today, one more time trying to resolve this. BUYER BEWARE!

    I've never had Brinks before but what sold me with them was that it's not connected to the internet. If the power was to go out, I feel secure with that. They have good features and Brinks has been around for a while too. I'm liking it so far. When I was initially setting up with Brinks, I had no issues. It was perfect and it was great customer service. I'm not a big technology guy so that's cool for me that I can disarm my stuff before I get in the house and I feel a sense of security knowing that the system is in place.

    Working with the customer service team of Brinks has been pretty good. I've had some failed communication there when I first called for the upgrade but after that things have gone pretty smoothly. The tech was really nice. We're trying to work something out because the upgrade that I was supposed to be getting wasn't supposed to cost me anything. All of a sudden, Brinks wanted to charge me $400-something. They supposedly straightened the problem out because they saw I was correct and that the upgrade wasn't supposed to cost me anything because I signed up for another two years on my contract with them.

    We live in Canada and were using a local alarm company when we found out the Brinks had taken over the account. We signed up for a 3 year contract and when we were contacted by Brinks they informed us that it was a 5 year contract which we didn't sign up for. After explaining that to Brinks customer service on the phone they said they would honor it. But when we sold the house and the new buyers didn't want to pay the large amount every month we contacted Brinks to cancel and found out the the original person did not change the file and it was still set at 5 years (first red flag). We told them that we were moving into a temporary house and didn't want to pay for a service we are not using and they said they would suspend the service until we moved in to our new house.

    Now we are in the new house we found that they have been charging us the the last 4 months and there is no alarm system in the house (second red flag). They also informed us that they do not operate in Canada anymore but I guess use outside contractors to service us (third red flag). My wife is feeling sick about this situation and we are to the point of contacting her brother who is a lawyer to deal with this now as we have lost all faith with this company. A warning to others in Canada.

    My bill was gonna go down but it gradually crept back up to about where I was before. Also, the guy said he could get my bill cheaper than what it was but I don't see that change there. Other than that, it's not so bad. I think the system should stay on after the electricity goes out but it's okay. I don't have a problem with its overall functionality and performance.

    Someone came to my door and it was a young man selling it. He promised that if I was charged again, that they would pay it but that didn't happen. I got clipped for $30 or $40. Other than the initial lie, the system has been okay. I'm very happy with it. It's nice to know if something happens, there's a tape somewhere that I can pull up. It is a nice thing to have. It’s a good protection. The one thing that kind of bugs me about it is if someone rings the doorbell, you can look to see who it is on your phone but that seems to take an awful long time.

    I keep asking for an itemized bill and Brinks won't send that to me. They ended up charging it to my credit card, which I never authorized, although I paid the original technical upgrade by credit card. Also, nobody sent me a contract but they say I have one. It's very annoying not to have the right paperwork. Other than that, it's been a pretty good service. We've had trouble because if the routers go down, then the system has to change everything it has to accommodate. But the guy who came out and did the technical work was good.

    Had a ongoing problems with the panel. Never dropping off issues like battery change in a sensor when it had been changed. Saying a window was open when it wasn't. This one on for probably about a month. Having spoken to technician but they never got to the root of the problem so while we rebooted the system and the information disappeared for a few hours it all came back again.

    Finally I spoke to a technician that took more interest in the issue. Went through a few things to try to fix it but when it was impossible yet again he immediately said a technician has to come to the house to put in new sensors on each window in the room where the issue was and reset up the panel. The technician that came to the home was very knowledgeable. Very pleasant, got right to work and got everything updated. Revamped the panel with just the current information and it's been working like a charm ever since. Really appreciate it. The extra effort by the phone technician and the home technician.

    I just moved into my house and it had ADT. The people that lived across the street came over and told me everything that I was getting. AT&T basically ripped me off for what I was paying. I switched to Brinks and I'm getting more now for almost the same that I was paying. I like Brinks much better. I didn't have a doorbell camera before so I like to be able to see that.     The representatives from Brinks were understanding and tried to explain all of my questions. Recently, I called them out because I was having some issues with a fire extinguisher going off when my wife was barely cooking anything. When the smoke alarm went off, it would trigger the glass break alarm. So, then I have two alarms blasting. The technician explained what was going on. My glass break system was loose on the wall. He said the frequencies that was bad from the smoke alarm reached a pitch enough to make it think it heard some glass breaking, so it would go off too. He tightened it to make sure it was straightened. It really wasn't much else he could do. He changed my doorbell camera. Everything appears to be working just fine now. It was a good service. I like the system a lot. I've had Brinks since I’ve owned the house, and it's been a good system.

    I was on customer service line and tech lines from before 4 am to 8 am and they never resolved my issue. The first 2 people I spoke to were rude. One of their names was L O ** and one was Marcelle. I never received the callback I was promised and they finally agreed to send a tech in 5 days. I guess I am supposed to listen to the alarm for 5 days and get no sleep. This is ridiculous. They finally said if I pulled their smoke alarm down by the wires it would stop, which it did not. They could not even see what type of equipment I have from their files which is also absurd.

    I will not recommend Brinks because of this awful experience. Now we have an alarm that keeps going off for no reason, they disconnected it on their end so they don’t have to keep calling or the cops don’t come. They said it may be the cold weather (not) so now my fire alarms no longer alert the fire dept and we are in winter. Hope nothing catches fire over the next five days since they could not send tech till then. Just horrible horrible service, and the kicker is that Marcelle, one of the reps I spoke to actually laughed when I told her I her I was Not happy about this. And their line kept “disconnecting” which is part of the reason I was on the line for over 4 hours and of course they cannot call the client back, you have to start all over and call again. I want a supervisor to call me back at ** within 12 hours that can get someone here to resolve my issue and if something happens before this rectified, I will be contacting an attorney.

    Everything is not working with my Brinks System and I've paid two months already. I ask them why they don't have somebody come in to fix my cameras and my alarm. They then told me that everyone is busy and that they're working in their houses. I'm very dissatisfied with Brinks. They're no good. Nobody is fixing my system and they take my money every month.

    Brinks has been very good as far as contacting me right away when I have an issue. Last month, my alarm system had to be reset and there was an agent who helped me. She really took her time and walked me through the whole thing. That took 35 minutes and she was really patient with me.

I get it registered on the system that the door is open when it's not. So, I can't even use my alarm. Brinks then scheduled service.

    I've had a couple of issues where my cameras quit recording. I had one guy tell me that I could get more pics if I wanted to pay more. I said, "I'm already paying $30 a month. I should be able to just go through and delete them." It was like, "Well, no, it doesn't work that way." The issues of not being able to record or get notifications because my slot was full irritated me. I was about ready to go to SOS Alarm because they got a DVR that you can set it up for 30 or 60 days videoing. But then after that, it just starts overwriting. I was like, "Well, then maybe I need to find somebody else." And next thing you know, the next person I talk to was, "Well, here, we'll just clear that storage up and you'll start recording again." But most of the people from Brinks that I have dealt with have been helpful and very pleasant to work with.

    I had 5,000 because I had them readjust the trigger points. I live in a cul-de-sac. There are only three houses on one side and two duplexes on the other. So, the corner, a car going across on a major street, the camera would trigger. I've had that refined. It's doing better. I would arm and disarm the system on my phone when I leave and I like that. Also, I had a washing machine that decided to smoke a belt. I was in the shower, and all of a sudden my fire alarm went off. We had the fire department en route by that time.

    I was a client for many (10) years with another alarm service, then Brinks took them over. Anyway my credit card expired as they do, they sent a letter threatening to put me in collections and report the credit bureaus. A simple phone call or email would have rectified the situation. Instead, they threatened collections and destroy my credit. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH BRINKS. I have filed complaints with both the BBB and AG's office for ** business practices.

    I heard of Brinks through word of mouth. Their communication is always good. But I noticed sometimes that the capture is delayed before it comes to our phones. And sometimes, the capture doesn't come right then. It takes a while. I explained to Brinks what we were experiencing and told them I want to consider going with something like 24-hour images. I hope it gets better. Thank God, that ain’t all the time.

    When Brinks' system is down and you need some help, it's not a pleasant call to make. If you've got a technical issue, 20% of the time you get really good help. The other 80% of the time, it's just about useless. The best thing to do is keep calling because the odds are one out of five calls, is what it takes to get help. My girlfriend has an outdoor camera. She got a new router and a modem from her internet provider. All the various devices around her house didn't match up to the Wi-Fi. So that camera needed to be paired to the Wi-Fi.

    The first guy didn't have a clue what he was doing. We ended up resetting and removing that camera from the system that my girlfriend has. Also, he had so much background noise, he couldn't even hear. It sounded like he was at some frat party somewhere. And he was just interested in getting the conversation over with. Then I got another one but all he wanted to do was go down the whole list of things to do. I told him what we've done before, what I thought the problem was, but he went by the script. And then the third person pretty much. He didn't know anything about the camera.

    When I got ahold of Jasmine, I could at least understand her. She spoke very good English that even I could understand. She didn't have all the background noise. Didn't sound like she's hanging out a bar or somewhere and taking prank calls. I told her where we had been. And she said, "Well, let's try this." Everything she asked me to do, she knew exactly what to do with the answer. She knew about the camera. And we got the thing hooked back up. And then she helped me walk through some other stuff that needed to be dealt with, because we had to digitally install a new camera. She would have been very pleasant if she would have been my first call, but because she was my fourth call. And she's the gal that came and saved me from the desert island. The young lady was excellent. She fixed the problem. She was courteous. When you get ahold of somebody who knows what he's doing, then they get the job fixed.

    I've had a real problem with Brinks and the consistency of the level of their service every time I accidentally set my alarms off. Unfortunately, it has been frequently here lately because I had some new equipment installed, and I haven't gotten used to living with it yet. But it reminds me. And they're very courteous and kind about it.

    I had one phone call that I was back and forth for over an hour. With Jasmine, it was over an hour. That was a productive hour. But I've spent over an hour on some of these calls. And then finally, the guy would say, "Well, you're just gonna have to get a technician. It starts at $65 an hour." There are times when the customer should pay for something like, if I destroyed my equipment, I can understand that. The only reason it took Jasmine so long, because I spent half the time explaining to her what we had already done. I just wanted to make sure I wouldn't back on two different ladders. I had to go from one ladder to another ladder to do all the things that we had to do that didn't resolve to anything.

    There were a couple of guys going door-to-door and they spoke to my husband. But my husband was upset later because he said that those guys made it seem like they were from Vivint, and that Brinks is taking over all the Vivint customers. Also, that it's a better quality. He said it's the same company. So, my husband said, “Oh, okay. If it's still the same company, you know.”

    When we got started, it was not good. We still had Vivint, and now, we’re paying for Brinks. And they told us that they would pay over whatever we owed, and that wasn't happening. It was ugly. I was trying to explain to Brinks, “Okay. We were told by the salesman that they would take over what we owed.” Why would I take on a brand-new customer and have two bills and only one camera is running? Because the technician took down the Vivint cameras and put up Brinks. But I was getting billed for both at the same time. I told Vivint I need to put a hold on my account because I'm getting billed for two. It was going back and forth. And Brinks was sending me letters.

    Finally, somebody heard me and I said, “Look, I'm not gonna be paying for two companies. You guys promised to pay what we owed Vivint.” It was too late for us to cancel with Brinks. I explained to them we thought that they bought over Vivint. It was how they made it sound. After speaking to somebody, Brinks paid off what we owed for Vivint. That way, we don't owe that, and now, we're with Brinks. As far as the cameras, when they're working, it's very clear. What my husband didn't like is that it's different from the Vivint. We had the door locks and we could use it off our phones. And there are a lot of things he doesn't like. My husband is just waiting for our term to finish to cancel.

    I am currently under contract with Brinks. Prior to signing up with them I completed my contract with a competitor and was month to month. Recently I enhanced my internet signal and my devices went offline. I simply wanted to reconnect my devices back to my internet service. I have spoken to 3 support members. I am a Registered Nurse and unfortunately I have to contact Brinks in the late evening after my shift. The 1st person I spoke with informed me that I needed to be home to complete the process which was fine, but getting through the verification process was challenging because she could not locate my account (did not enter the correct #) and I had difficulty understanding what was being communicated to me.

    The 2nd person no issues locating my account, but the same challenge with the communication. The instructions given were the same that was provided on the website and no further support was available. The support member was reading just like I was! After a 20min call and her repeating the same steps with an unprofessional tone and frustration relayed in her voice which I believe it was due to me having to decipher what was being instructed, I was then disconnected (hung up on). I came to this conclusion because the support member did not call me back.

    I called back and spoke with a 3rd person who had better communication, but still no technical support. This person had no issues retrieving my account, but repeated the same steps as the 2nd support member and lacked training. Had to place me on hold and had multiple extended pauses in between instruction. At one point she asked me how many cameras I had, I relayed the answer. She stated she didn't see that number of devices, but then began to list the devices and after listing the devices she realized it was the number I stated. The support member was not rude, but completely unprofessional, she began to laugh when the connection did not work. I asked did I miss a joke... (I really thought I was being punked).

    I asked if there was a supervisor available. She stated it was after hours and they were not available. I asked for a supervisor's name or email that I could reference my concern to. She stated one could not be provided. I asked for a branch reference number or something that could be traced to who I spoke with. None could be provided. I will leave it at this...Brinks Chief Customer Service Officer just recently stated "We are focused on consistently providing our customers with a best-in-class experience".

    This experience has made me feel like I am not valued as a customer, and more importantly the entity that I value most, my family are not fully protected with my devices offline. I am still under contract, but I would rather pay a cancellation fee (with my hard earned $) then to not feel valued and treated like a joke by a company.

    I started a contract in 2018 with Stay Safe Security. I moved out of the house to another country and tried to cancel my contract, they wouldn't let me. My ex husband stayed in the house, kept paying the bill and didn't use the service. It was transferred to a Brinks contract and he kept paying till the 2 year contract was up- he tried to cancel it and they wouldn't let him. So he contacted me and I tried to cancel and after a few attempts I was finally able to. They sent a "final bill", after the service was cancelled. The service hadn't been used in years and we tried to cancel it over and over. Then I was made aware it was sent to collections!

    This company is completely and totally unethical. They won't allow a simple cancellation of a contract and then continue to bill even after you cancel and try to explain you don't live in the country and the service hasn't been used in years! They don't listen to their customers, they just keep billing until they have to stop. They boast that have "the best customer service" which is a joke. Their employees have zero authority or ability to make a judgement call when a customer calls.

    The system is fine but I feel like there are some kinks in it. It wasn't set up to record during certain hours which are my sleeping hours, between 12:00 AM and 6:00 AM, which I would mainly need it to. There was an incident where someone was in my yard. I happened to be up at 2 o'clock in the morning and I saw him on the camera. But when I went back later that day to look for the footage so that I could contact the police, it wasn't there.

    I contacted the customer service at Brinks and that's when we realized that the system wasn't set up to record during those hours. I was very unhappy about that. Initially, the rep was almost like, “What do you want me to do about it?” She didn't say it, but the whole attitude did. I had to really get firm with her and let her know that I'm not gonna be paying for a system for nothing. She put me on hold, figured it out, came back, and that was when she helped me. Now that it's set up, it's constantly taking footage so the storage space isn't enough. I don't wanna have to keep going in and erasing stuff. I need it to be there. That's what I'm kind of unhappy about.

    We originally had our monitoring system with another company which was purchased by Brinks. Brinks was charging us $62 a month for basic monitoring which is significantly more than their peer monitoring companies. Anyway we sell our house and inform Brinks we no longer need their services. In good business form they ask if they can be our provider on our new house. I told them no due to their inflated costs and they come back several days later and throw the parachute and offer $17.99 per month for new monitoring. Nice gesture but where was this when we were paying $62 a month?

    Back to my problem with Brinks and why I am here. I called them November 20th to inform them we have moved and to immediately cancel the service. Well today is January 28th and they have debited my account 3 more times for an additional total of $185. Fair enough I figured a phone call to them would resolve this and we would be reimbursed for this but no. Apparently after you call to cancel they send you a DocuSign document and they will not cancel your service until you do this. Problem is this email comes several days later due to in the representative's words “it’s a different department that has many cancellation requests and it takes time to generate this document.”

    She also said the reason for this is they need to make sure the customer is not under duress and ensure this is the right decision. Whatever. It’s an attempt by this company to hopefully let the DocuSign document to fly under the radar so they can accumulate additional revenue by hoping you don’t sign it or overlook it. If they were concerned about the customer being in her words “under duress” then why haven’t they contacted me within the last 3 months but yet pull funds out the account? We all know why. You want the money.

    I asked the representative to be reimbursed since after all I notified you 3 months ago but no they are unwilling to do this. Bad business and you’ve lost me forever. There are many choices out there and I urge you not to make the mistake of letting them take advantage of another customer like this. I told the representative that if I wasn’t reimbursed I will share my experience with everyone I can. I’m not trying to threaten or extort them but she really could have cared less about my opinion so here I am. Bottom line watch out as their cancellation policy is sketchy and they are unwilling to do the right thing in my opinion.

    I've had a good experience with Brinks. The technician that comes out has been coming out for quite a while. He's been the same technician. They've always answered my questions and provided me with what I needed. I like the cameras, the door locks and their recent upgrade to 4G. But the only thing is, my back door is not working from the corrosion from the batteries. I have to get somebody to come out. But I would recommend people to Brinks.

    Brinks is an excellent company. I had a bad board in my main control and they sent somebody out. The serviceman fixed it very promptly. It took a week or so for him to get here but he told me how to bypass that section of the board and the alarm worked fine. He was excellent. If I hear a noise outside my house, I look at the camera first. You don't have to go walk out the door and get hit in the head with a baseball bat.

    I've been with Brinks for many years and every time I've needed some service or guidance over the phone, I get very good customer service. I call in to make sure my system is up and working right. We'll do that test from the house and they walk me through it. We do it together and that's wonderful. I'm 68 years old and sometimes I forget stuff and they seem to have a lot of patience with me and I appreciate that.

    They're always on top of everything. If my alarm has gone off for whatever reason, whether it be a wind that caused the alarm to activate and I wasn't at home, I always get a phone call from them. Up until now, I've never had a problem with them or I've never felt that they didn't help me out or we didn't resolve a problem. They also are not local, but the third party that they've got working for them was excellent. I would definitely tell others, "You don't want any worries, go with Brinks."

    My neighbor in Pennsylvania got Brinks through one company that's not actually Brinks. I called that company and we had quite a bit of hiccups in the beginning. Brinks helped out to try to get them to do what they had to do. Once everything was fine, we were able to move forward. I had to be with that company for one year then service switched over to Brinks. I finished with them, sold my house, and bought another one in Florida. I liked Brinks so I decided to go with them. At first, they had me paying for both service at my old house and my new one. Then, I started complaining quite a bit.

    After I called them again and again and told them that I didn't think it was fair that I would have to still pay for service at both houses, they told me that the only thing they could do is to add the time left at the old house to my current house. So, instead of having a regular two or three-year agreement, I have a five or six-year one. The system we have is perfect. But, there was a time when we were in bed and it gave us a notification that the front door was just closed and it was never opened or closed. Another time, we were out and it said that the front door was open. I called to talk to Brinks about that and they sent me a new sensor. We changed it but it didn't come with any instructions. So, I had to call and be walked through to attach it to the panel.

    My sensors kept saying "low battery" or "offline". It took about two to three weeks for them to come out. But I kept getting alerts at 2:00 or 3:00 in the morning. The sensors I have had two different battery sizes. When I called in, they told me those sizes. I purchased the batteries on my own and whenever the low battery sensor comes on, I take it down, replace the battery, and put it back up. So far, it's been good.

In my case, the camera wasn’t installed properly with a constant source of power and therefore didn’t operate correctly. It took nearly six weeks for a tech to come out and determine the problem. Now I need an electrician to install a new box with direct power. This could’ve been resolved when the system was initially installed.

    We have been with Montronics/ Brinks for 17 years. They called one day to see if we wanted a discount on our monthly bill, of course we wanted a discount. Both myself and my wife are 90 years old and have fell several times in the past few months. It was agreed that it was time for us to sell our home and move in with our daughter. Our home was sold in July of 2020 and tried to cancel our service. We were told at that time we were under a one year contract because we agreed to have a $4 reduction on our bill. After being with this company for 17 years we were shocked to discover this. We were told that we had to pay the remainder of the one year contract. They harassed us for months and continued to bill us monthly for a service we cancelled.

    Finally we agreed to settle the remaining owed for the term of a year after speaking with a member of management. We paid $276 and were told the account had been paid in full according to the contract. We are still getting monthly bills from them. When we called to tell them the account had been settled in full the day we paid the $276 we were told it was only the past due amount and that we still owed until April of 2021. They lied to us to get the $276 and never settled our account as promised. Please do your research and don’t let this company trick you into a $4 a month discount on your bill for being a loyal 17 year customer then trick you into a year's contract. Then tell you your account is settled if you pay $276 and then they still say you owe more money.

    I have had Alarm.com before they became Brinks and all was well. Once they became brinks that's when all the crap started. My doorbell camera went out a year ago and for a year I have dealt with different issues with the system but I paid for service anyway. Well around the holidays I wanted my doorbell to work because I needed to see who was coming and be able to unlock the door from my phone. I informed each the representatives of the troubles that I had been having for the past year so there are many many notes on my account. I also wrote down each person I spoke with, the date and the "resolution".

    Well very long story short...the first rep couldn't fix anything until I paid the bill for that month (but I still had no service). Ok I paid it, now they can't issue a credit until a technician comes out and tells them how long the system was down. Ok send a tech. I've been asking for a year anyway. Well the tech appointments were a month out...ok issue a credit for at least the month that you know the system isn't working. Done but you have to buy a warranty...ok. Credit issued and no charge for tech to come out. Great. Or so I thought.

    Fast forward a month later...tech comes out and puts my wifi password in his personal phone??? Suspicious but hey he's the tech and maybe he needs to keep the info to make sure he can log in to fix things. No problem. Tech fixes system and notates account that system was offline for 8 months. Ok so now my system works and I should be able to get my credit right? No. They say they have no idea what I'm talking about!!! Wow!

    I changed my password because I never saw the tech remove it from his phone. System goes down. Call back and they want to send the same tech. Ok maybe he works that area. Ok send him out. Tech returns. Fixes system again and stores password in phone AGAIN. This time I call and ask if that's common practice. Rep..."well why would he do that", me..."??? how should I know?" So I don't change password, this time I block the tech's phone on my wifi. Guess what happens then??? Yep system goes down again. Hadn't even been a week. Call Brinks again, they want to send the same tech...H no! Just cancel my service!

    Sends me to cancelation dept and they offer some other products and try extend account for 3 more months and attempts to send same tech. No just cancel...more words, more offers...blah blah blah. No just cancel. Tech comes out anyway because they made an appointment anyway, and extended service ANYWAY! I and my daughter were asleep in our rooms. My father who was confused opens door and tech enters home and I'm guessing leaves shortly after but doesn't close ticket so when I wake up my door is unlocked and my father says "that guy went to find you...???" "What guy and went where?" "Upstairs!" I was asleep. CONCERN!

    So I call brinks thinking they sent him anyway and sure enough they did and he was still logged in as being at my home although I saw no one. So that rep tries to call him. I was on hold for 31 minutes before they could tell me he wasn't in or near my home. "Why did he not call before he came?" "Ummm please hold..." To this very moment I still haven't gotten an answer. So at this point I'm irate...CANCEL MY SERVICE! More offers more words...NO, JUST CANCEL IT AND DO NOT COME BACK TO MY HOME!" "Ok, let me speak to the cancelation dept." Ok.

    "Well you owe us for 3 months and a tech visit, how would you like to pay?" "Lady, I've tried to cancel and you all are not listening. I'm not paying because it's only been a few days since I told you to cancel the first time." "Please hold...ok we've canceled your service and issued a credit." God bless America! That's all I wanted. "Would you recommend Brinks?" "MA'AM not on your life!" Brinks is a nightmare!
