I purchased Maytag Bravos XL Steam Washer brand new from Lowe’s in January 2018. HORRIBLE washer! Does not get clothes clean and leaves soap and scum all over clothes. I have to wash everything on power wash with an additional rinse cycle (takes about 2 hours per load) and clothes still don’t come out clean. I often have to wash a load 2 or 3 times to get it clean. Will NEVER PURCHASE another Maytag product! What is even worse is that I also bought the Maytag “commercial technology” washer at the same time. It’s an even more TERRIBLE washer. Cannot get through one cycle without getting an LF (low flow) error & the cycle shuts off and machine drains & quits. Absolutely the two WORST washers I’ve ever owned in the past 40 years!!!

I purchased the Bravos washer and dryer suite. Since I was a small child I had heard my parents and others alike say that Maytag always had superior products as this is the reason when I was fortunate enough to purchase a new set I chose a Maytag brand. We that was the past and the present products et washers /dryers as the worst ever. I have had my set less than 2 years and today had to go out and buy a used one again. I have had nothing but trouble with these 2 and will never buy their brand of anything again. From the amount of poor reviews it appears I am not alone. I tried several times to no avail to have someone from the company contact me as I was put on hold too many times!

Bravos XL Top loading High Efficiency Low Water Washer and Dryer - I gave this washing machine a 1 star but would give it a 0 star or less if the choice was available. I agree with everything others have voiced about this washer. I end up using the bulky cycle for everything because it is the only cycle I have found that will use enough water to get the clothes moving around. All the other cycles are a joke. First you must put everything around the wall of the tub away from the so called agitator. Then about 2 cups of water enters the machine. It then goes into this high speed spin. In my opinion it just pushes any soil deeper into the fibers. The drum will then spin slowly and water will spray on the clothes for several minutes but the washer never fills with enough water to cover the clothes.
Watching it agitate through the glass top is almost hysterical. Laundry is barely moving. The high speed spin they push as a selling point puts deep wrinkles in everything and the wrinkle control setting on the dryer does nothing for them. It is absolutely the worst machine I have ever owned. My husband has repeatedly told me to sell these and buy another set. I will be ashamed to sell it to anyone. I'm not sure how the makers of Maytag got away with selling these machines. I know there are different models but from what I have read they all work the same. I replaced a very low end GE Washer and Dryer with this pair and every time I do laundry I wish I had them back. The matching dryer is very costly to run as almost every load takes 2 cycles to get items dry. Nothing comes out completely dry even if you put it on the more dry setting.

My Maytag Bravos washer is 6 years old. I had to have the motor replaced about 2 years ago. Now, it gets stuck on uL on every spin cycle. I had a technician come, and was told it's just cheaper to replace the machine at this point. What happened to the Maytag man of old, the one who never has any work to do because the machines are built so well?!

I bought a Maytag laundry set (washer and dryer, models MVWC565FW and MEDC555DW, respectively), and I concur with the fact that this is the WORST laundry set I have ever owned. The clothes came out of the washer extremely dry and did not come out as clean as expected. In addition, clothes came out with strange spots, especially the dark ones. Now, we wash our dark clothes with fear of damage them. The dryer is also pathetic. I put in a normal load on high for 60 minutes, and they're still very damp. Sometimes I have to repeat the cycle 2 or 3 times. When I compare it with my old laundry set, this is extremely disappointing. And to make things worse, the customer service department doesn't answer you. I sent them a mail, on February 2018, and a month and a half later, I haven't heard back from them.

When the service-man show up, took one look (approx 50 seconds) at the washing machine (which only 4yrs old), stated he is not touching it and not worth to fix it - get this! Due to bearing! Charged me $200 as standard fee. To put salt on the wound, service-name stated: I've should told the customer-service 'bearing problem' which is very well known by Maytag! Therefore, save my $200. Note, I will NEVER buy Maytag appliances!!!

In October 2017, I purchased a Maytag MVWB765FW0, thinking that it would live up to the Maytag reputation but I will NEVER buy Maytag again. This machine is more suitable to wash industrial canvas rather than clothing and bedding. All the laundry is twisted and mangled and ends up in a large tangled ball at the bottom of the tub. Never waste your money and buy Maytag washer. Mine is XL large tub and has extra wash for extra clean. Don't waste your money. Never fills up with enough water. Almost everytime I wash I have to rewash the load because the clothes are still dirty, have soap spots and most of the time the clothes didn't even get wet. Horrible Horrible washer!!! My water bill has gone up a lot because I have to rewash the load so that's twice... I can't even use the XL tub because it won't fill up with water.
Horrible product. Can't believe Maytag is still in business. They don't stand behind product. Called. Complained. They gave me nothing except for some free pods to clean a washer that's only 6 months old. I've tried every cycle to see which one will wash the best. Still Horrible Horrible. Doesn't get anything cleaned. Here I thought nothing could get worse than a front loader? Well the Maytag is worse Horrible product. Don't buy. Don't waste your money. Try another brand!!!

We've always bought Maytag, but this is our last time. The washer is just a piece of junk. It uses very little water and the agitator does not work. The clothes end up at the bottom in a ball. The water level is so low sometimes my clothes aren't even wet. As I type this it has been stuck in the rinse cycle for 2 hours. It just keeps repeating. Maytag should have to replace everyone of the BRAVOS XL washers. I am no longer a loyal customer. I might as well go down to the river and beat my clothes on a rock. At least they would be cleaner. This washer sucks so bad. Just got it a few hours ago and it's absolutely horrible. The water just runs for the wash cycle. And I was told by the salesperson at Best Buy that it would save you water. That's not the case. There is enough water to run over all the clothes. It doesn't agitate enough to even move the clothes around. The clothes basically sit at the bottom of the tub in the water doing nothing. This Maytag Bravo washer will be returned tomorrow. Me and my wife are highly disappointed. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone. We've decided to just get the old washer fixed and go from there. There are too many bad reviews for this washer to still be on the market. We feel that this was a total waste of time, energy and money.

Purchased Maytag washer/dryer in November 2016. Have been dissatisfied ever since. Dryer doesn't dry clothes completely after 90 minutes on high setting. Washer leaves white residue on clothes. Noticeable on dark items. Hardly any water on deep water wash cycle. Bedding just makes a big rolled ball. White powdery residue doesn't come off easily. Rewash, dryer, brushing. Ruining my clothes. Service has been out and they don't appear to know how to correct problem. Maytag doesn't know what problem is and their engineering staff hasn't provided any information on how to fix. I purchased this washer in Oct. of 2017. From the beginning, it has not cleaned clothing properly and leaves a white residue on clothing. To get the residue off, I must wash the clothing again or sometimes it will come off in the dryer. The water level is too low to efficiently clean. I thought I would save water getting this but not at the price of multiple washes... What good is that? Since there is no agitator the clothes just sit at the bottom and move back and forth as one big clump, with just a few inches of water. I am sorry I've waited so long since I am now past the point of returning this piece of junk.

Machine (Washing machine front loader model # MHW 5500 FC1) purchased August 2017. From the start Service Dept USA told me to unplug and re-plug anytime I had a problem as this problem started right away right after installation. In January it was getting stuck on the spin cycle. Unplug and re-plug to no avail. MAYTAG DO NOT have their own technicians just so you know. In the my area they use two subcontractors. In January they sent out the first sub-contractor from Appliance Wizards. He is a one man operation I later found out. As soon as he saw that I had a stacked washer and dryer he told me that this was my problem. He pushed a bunch of buttons on the machine, obviously re-setting the motherboard in a different way than unplug and re-plug and told me that there was nothing wrong with my machine. Not true. Machine was getting stuck again.
Called Whirlpool service USA again. Told them not to send the same company. This time they sent JC Service. Excellent company. Kyle came out, identified that it was the motherboard. He claimed that they had other consumers with the same problem but that MAYTAG has corrected the problem and he went ahead and ordered a new motherboard. Waited 8 days and Kyle and another serviceman came and installed the new motherboard two days ago. Yesterday I put in my first load and the whole machine went dead. Kyle came again. He claims it is the motherboard again and he ordered a new one. I called Whirlpool service USA and spoke to Tina. All I wanted them to do is to ship my now, third motherboard quickly by courier so that I would not have to wait another 8 days without a washer.
Her resolution was to extend my warranty by 6 months. I advised her that I had purchased a 4 year warranty but if they did not fix it so I can use it, even a ten year warranty would be of no use. So then she went and started reciting "THEIR RULE OF LAW" with regards to their protocol and told me that if needed they will replace my motherboard as many times as needed. She would not address sending the motherboard quickly. I asked for a supervisor several times and finally she agreed to put me through to the supervisor. She was worst than Tina. She agreed to check with the parts department and if possible she would ship it out by courier. I asked her to keep me on hold while she checked. She came back saying that they were not answering and that IN FACT they could not ship it out expeditiously. So, IN OTHER WORDS, SHE WAS LYING TO ME TO GET ME OFF HER LINE!!!!
I asked her to give me the e-mail address of the EXECUTIVE OFFICE for Whirlpool. She claimed that she did not have their e-mail address and that the only way to communicate with them was by snail mail. I checked the internet and found a telephone number for the Executive office in Mississauga. I called them. The menu asked to push 5 for... get this... CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE... I pushed 5, followed by a bunch of beeps and a busy signal and disconnect. I tried 3 times. So there you go. This is their way of giving you a Customer Experience. Then I found a number for the Executive office in the USA. I was able to reach Latisha from the executive team and she assured me that if I were a USA resident she would have that motherboard shipped to be by courier right away.
Because I am in Canada she was going to contact them to give me a call but that now I had to wait till Monday. 4 days to get back to me from Canada. Yet when it comes to service and parts, everything is arranged in the USA and everything comes from the USA because it is more cost effective for them. Who cares about the consumer. By then the motherboard will have left three days to arrive. 7 days take away 4 equals 3, take away a day for courier, depending on what time they call me on Monday, otherwise you have to take away two days, and then it will be all for nothing. But again, they must have so many complaints at the EXECUTIVE LEVEL, that they cannot call right away.
So folks, note that Whirlpool has not recalled these machines with a defective motherboard, they are still selling them to unsuspecting consumers. They are not making an effort to send them out quickly or keep some in stock locally. BUT THE WORST OF ALL IS THAT THEY ARE REPLACING THE DEFECTIVE MOTHERBOARDS WITH OTHER DEFECTIVE MOTHERBOARDS!!!! This is outrageous!!!! I shall update my review once I hear from the very busy executive office for client care, and again once the new motherboard goes in. I shall post my order number and receipt when I update this review as my husband has all this and he is away. However I can give a work order number from service: **.

After two years of dealing with this awful washer, I felt compelled to write a review. I have had $50 rebuilt washing machines, as well as new ones from the bargain aisle. They worked very well for us. But when it was time to purchase a new one, we wanted a washer with a larger capacity and ended up with this boobie prize. Honestly, whoever designed this washing machine should be ashamed. I cannot believe it made it past the testing stage! Blankets and quilts roll into a ball and never get clean, detergent gets trapped inside this ball of doom, the simplest dirt on clothes survive the cycles, and forget trying to clean stains. I scrub them out, then use the rinse cycle. JUST AWFUL!!! Honestly, this is THE WORST and most disappointing purchase I have ever made. Stay away from it.

And my clothes come out dirty and I have to wash several times to even get them semi cleaned. I am not rich and trying to save enough. To buy this machine was not easy and I am now with no options. I called Lowe's after a couple day after I got the machine and told them it is not working. They sent me another machine yet it still does not clean my clothes. I wanted to return it and get a better machine but they refuse to allow me to do so because now it is 2 months old and past the 30 day return.
I purchased an extended warranty which is useless cause. The machine is junk even when working as it should... I will never buy from Maytag again because they refuse to back their crappy product and refund my money. I would tell anyone looking for a washer to not go with Maytag. They are terrible machines and a bad design... Bought this Maytag Bravos Washer online from Lowe’s in the holiday season of December 2017 because my previous Maytag HE washer broke after 17 years. I have had nothing but issues with this washer right from the start. The clothes do not come clean as I find myself putting them through the wash cycle two or three times to have them washed and come somewhat clean. The clothes come out soaking wet that I have to put them through the rinse and spin cycle at least one or two more times. I called Lowe’s to complain about this washer and they said they only have a 30 day return policy and they would be happy to call for service for me. I told them it didn’t work from the start but they didn’t care. So now, sadly, I have a repairman coming this week to fix my new washer, And hopefully he can fix it that I can use it and it can properly wash clothes.
I wish I would have her read the reviews on Consumer Affairs about this washer before purchasing this Maytag. Not happy with Maytag. I would have never bought it and bought a different brand. Purchased Maytag washer 2014, first the porcelain in the tub chipped then 3 years later the control unit assembly and actuator went bad they wanted $464 to fix the machine, more than we paid for it. The dealer tried to sell us insurance for this product at a hefty price, I believe all manufacturers are making their products with a short lifespan and the way for them to make money is by not making a quality product like they used to do that lasted 25 years or more, the only washer out there that is dependable is speed queen made in the USA in Wisconsin.
So we the consumers are the losers in buying washers that do not live up to their name, Maytag covers themselves by a warranty of one year period for parts and labor and if you do not buy the extended warranty at a hefty price you are out of luck - so my advice is when buying a washer read all the reviews and make your decision, but the best advice is buy a speed queen online for $600 and save $400 by doing that and get a quality washer that will last 25 years or more.

I purchased a Maytag Bravos XL Commercial Technology top loading washer, model # MVWB850YWO, in May 2012 and it was delivered in August 2012 due to a home purchase not being consummated. Anyway, I bought this washer and the matching dryer at Lowe's and purchased a 4 year extended warranty with Lowe's. This would cover me with a warranty through August 2017. I had some problems with the washer while under warranty and had it repaired at least twice. I have had, and still do, have a water leakage in the washer. The water when dispensing into the detergent compartment splashes over and you would think it would just go into the tub. Someway the water leaks down the inside of the washer and runs out onto the floor also causing rust to the inside of the front panel.
The resolution was to turn the water pressure down on the supply lines. When this was done, the washer would quit running due to not enough water being dispersed into the drum. A replacement seal was installed and I still have the same problem. The repairman's final resolution was to put tape over half of the detergent dispenser to hold the water in the detergent dispenser and still allow me to put detergent in the dispenser. So, a towel is in front of the washer to soak up any leakage. Now, just 5 months after the extended warranty expired, the bearings under the wash tub are starting to roar during the spin cycle. I contacted Lowe's service again and basically I am out of luck. The repair cost is expensive, the part and requires 2-3 hours of labor. I decided to chuck this washer and buy a new one.
My wife found one that has an agitator, unfortunately another Maytag, and wants it as she has said the Bravos washer never seemed to get the clothes clean (due to not having an agitator). When checking online for references on a new washer and any recalls on my current washer, I discovered other Bravos XL owners having the same problem with the bearings in the tub. I contacted a local business to try and sell it to him for cheap and when I told him what was wrong with my washer his reply was, "I have one just like it out back with the same problem. Don't need two problems". Can't even get rid of a Maytag washer due to it being "junk".
Many other reviews have listed problems with Maytag products especially since Whirlpool bought them. The Maytags of today are not your parent's Maytag. Used to be the Maytag repairman sat around his office waiting for repair calls. This has changed considerably since Maytag sold out to Whirlpool. After doing some research, it seems Whirlpool has bought just about every company selling washers and dryers and are making them as a disposable item. I would advise not purchasing any product that is under the Whirlpool corporate umbrella as I feel whatever they buy, even a superior product like Maytag, they cheapen the product and try to benefit from the name, as in the case with Maytag. So, no more Maytag or Whirlpool products for me until they have proven they can build a quality product once again. Hello GE!!!!

Purchased a Maytag Bravos XL less than 3 years ago Model MVWB725BW0. We have had several repair calls. From reading complaints from others, I have the same: clothes balloon, clothes rip, dark clothes have a scum on them, even a blanket goes off balance and it is hard to start the cycle. It goes off balance all the time, makes a squeaky sound when "agitating" and the housekeeper can never figure out what cycle to run the clothes on because they always go off balance, there is a loud vibration, etc. The last repair call was for an actual leak on the floor!
The appliance company charged us $95 for the service call, did nothing, and told us the parts would be more expensive than a new washing machine. Went to Home Depot today and purchased an LG washer and dryer for over $1500. I am not even going to try to recoup anything from Maytag because this is the second Maytag that I have had a bad experience with and didn't learn a lesson in the first place. Junk. :(

Only 2 months after purchasing the Neptune Washer I required a service call as the washer was not draining. Technician replaced the pump and cleaned the drain filter. 4 months later the same issue happened. 3 months later the computer board was replaced and filter cleaned. Since purchasing this washer I have had to have 5 service calls to have it fixed. I called Maytag and they told me it is my fault the filter is clogged. Although the things in the filter are from my family's laundry the filter is located in the middle of the machine which requires the machine to be torn apart to clean the filter. This is a TERRIBLE design flaw which is NOT covered under the maintenance agreement as the service technician said this problem was caused by us. Maytag was the absolute worse to deal with as I have spoken to two levels of customer support managers and all of them said it's my fault.

This is not my first Maytag. Bought this one in August 2017 from Home Depot. Now all it does is make a grinding sound. No lights. Not anything but noise. I bought one without all the digital because I thought that could be more problems. The only part that is digital is the start/pause button. I liked the idea of less water and no center. It balloons the clothes when it is finished spinning. Didn't start out that way. I use the right detergent and wash it every 30 days as it suggests. Can't afford to call a repairman on such a new washer.

Repairman’s excuse was that it’s a learning curve(?) and our dryer vent was the cause (which it wasn’t as we had it checked out and there was nothing in it) and that was it. Very disappointed in the washer and dryer and now the company where we bought them as it seems that we’re stuck with over $2K worth of equipment that doesn’t wash or dry well. We bought new appliances when we moved to our new house last June (2016). Sears recommended the Maytag 600S pair (HE washer and dryer). We have contacted Sears numerous time to have service people out because many times (75%) the washer does not fill with enough water to wet all the clothes and there is a layer of dry clothes at the top when the wash cycle ends.
I do not believe that dry clothes get clean because they are near wet clothes in the washer. But Sears insists this is by design. Some service people tell us that the top loading HE washer will be gone soon because of the complaints but we have to struggle on. Sears seems to hope we just get tired and stop calling as their Customer Service policy. I have to dump 1-2 buckets of water into almost every wash that we do. As a side note, the 600S series has a slanted top rather than the traditional flat top. It looks cute but things fall/roll off of it. It would be nice to put things on top of the washer or dryer while doing the laundry but they roll/slide/fall off. The design is not so "cute" anymore. Actually, really a stupid idea.

I am 65 years old and for all of my life there has always been a Maytag washer and Dryer in our home. My great grandmother and great grandfather had a gasoline powered Maytag. My maternal grandmother had wringer-Maytag and my parents have always purchased Maytags. When I was on my own I purchased Maytags. In November of 2012 I purchased a Maytag Bravos XL washer and dryer. I had no reservations because it was "Maytag". In October of this year (2017), the washer starting roaring and I had purchased an extended warranty. I called a reported this. A local appliance repair provider was sent out after I called the 800 number on the warranty agreement. I waited several days and finally called the repair provider and was told the parts needed were backordered. Time rocked on several weeks with no communication until I began calling both repair provider and warranty company. Still no washer repair.
Ultimately, the resolution was not to repair or replace the washer, but to refund the purchase price and sales tax. The Home Depot salesman that sold us the washer and dryer, as well as the extended warranty coverage assured us that should either the washer or dryer fail it would be repaired or replaced, neither occurred. This left me without a washer for more than a month. Then finally I called the warranty company used by Home Depot and I was told a refund check would be sent for the washer, along with laundry reimbursement check. My difficulty with this is even though I got my money back on the washer and some of my expense on having the laundry and dry cleaning done elsewhere, it does address the issue. Simply, I see the "Maytag" commercials all the time and they are simply noise on TV now.
I am still wondering how this could happen to a washing machine that had less than two and half years of use, never abused, cared for could fail in five years. I was used to having "Maytags" last decades with little or no repairs. Given the fact this machine was top of the line and well taken care of, I so very disappointed and not buy another "Maytag" of any kind again. By the way, I have a home in the country with a 27 year Maytag washer and 20 year old Maytag dryer that come from my home in town that Bravos XL dryer replaced.
My research during all of this has led me to conclude this is not an isolated incident, but far larger problem with these washing machines. Why has there not been a recall on these inherently defective washers been issued. Where is the justice in this, even though the refund and small laundry reimbursement has been received it does not make any happier. I have lost my confidence in Maytag and I thought that could not happen with Maytag.

I, too, have had a lousy experience with this washer – it does not correctly sense the amount of clothing in the load, and often fails to get everything wet. Once the cycle starts, it does not necessarily pull everything into the water. You must ball each item up around the center or have sleeves and legs of clothing end up very twisted. Clothing is often very wrinkled and I do not feel that enough water is used to achieve clean clothes. I did get a good response from Maytag, who sent a repairman free of charge after the one year warranty period. He was very gruff and condescending – implying that I am buying the wrong kind of clothing. He reset the washer which improved the water levels, but now it is back to its old tricks. I bought this Maytag MCT washer and dryer set brand new from Lowe's October 31st, 2016. When I washed the first load it made so much noise I thought it was broken. Called Lowe's and they said it is just noisier than the older ones. This is the water/load sensing model, supposed to be great. I am usually here by myself, so at most I wash one load of clothes a week. I have a queen size mattress pad in there washing right now. This pad fills up the drum pretty much, I have it on 'deep water' but that only gives me maybe 1/4 of the drum that has water in it. The pad is wet from wicking, NOT from the water covering it. How is this supposed to clean anything when the water is not covering the items?
When it spins out, it gets off balance easily. The manual says to not worry about balancing load as you put it in there, but doesn't make any sense to just cram on one side as the water isn't going to float the cloth around to balance. The settings for Bulky does nothing more than the setting for Deep Water, you still do not get enough water to wash your clothes.
It also does not do any good to add fabric softener to the machine, as it seems to just take it all out, you cannot smell any fabric softener on your laundry when you are transferring it to the dryer. And the laundry when dry isn't soft like it was with the old machines. I will be 62 in December 2017. My parents always had Maytags, never a problem. This is the 4th set of Maytags I have had. And bought a set for my daughter in 2013 also. And this by far is the worst. Their quality is completely gone now. Nothing but cheap made products that are predestined to fail. She continued to give me phone numbers with area code 407 in Indiana and then kept repeating some type of a ZIP Code 49 something for Indiana. I explained to her four different times that the zip codes in Iowa start with a five and the area code would be a 515 number in the area she was looking at. She finally gave me two phone numbers, one that did not work. I asked for a repairperson out of Jefferson. She told me Cranston Repair and gave me the phone number. She told me to call him. I told her that I would go with the Cranston repair since Jefferson with my hometown and it was close to where I lived.
I then asked her if she would make the appointment. She told me she didn't know how to make the appointment and she kept messing up with the system. Not sure if it was her first day or not but that was fine so I said “never mind I will set the appointment up myself." I then asked her to double-check to see if our new Maytag refrigerator that we just purchased was registered. She told me she did not see it but all I needed to do was call back the next day with the model and serial number and anybody I spoke to on the phone could go ahead and get that registered. I thought I had registered online; I only wanted to double-check but she didn't see it so I assumed I did something wrong and then would make the call back the next day.
I called Cranston repair and scheduled an appointment with the repairperson for the next day Tuesday, September 19. Repairman came the next day on time, looked at the washer and found that the transmission had gone out. I had purchased the washer just shy of two years ago. The repairman said that he would have to order the part and would let me know how long it would take and would return to fix the washing machine. He called from my house and was told that the part was on backorder until October 5. After the repairman left the house I decided to call Maytag back and express my disappointment in the product as Maytag says they stand behind their products and the fact that it was not even two years old and that a transmission would go out. The individual I spoke to this time, Antcwaniqua? Not sure about spelling, listened to my story. She also told me the part the repairman ordered was not correct.
I needed part W1 1132267. She said that was a substitute part for the correct part that I needed which was W11035204. I told her that the part number ending in 204 we were told was on backorder until October 5. She said no, the part may show that in the system for repairmen but Maytag can locate the part in a warehouse, it would be shipped in 3 to 5 days. I told her that he had called a place in Davenport, Iowa. What she would do because of all the issues I was having was she would go ahead and ship the part out to me at no cost in 3 to 5 days.
I wasn't sure about that warehouse thing. It didn't sound convincing but at that point I had to go along with it. What was shipped out to me was the substitute part W1 113-2267. At this point she told me that I would have to pay to have the part put in; I agreed to that on I want a new washer or I want my washer repaired within 72 hours at no cost. I have not had a washer for 3 weeks plus. Repairman in coming Friday and I am not confident that the 4th gearcase part that came today will work either.

By October 3, an announcement that part came in, to make an appointment. By now, it's been a month and a half, I am so angry. I thought it was just my machine that sounded like an airplane taking off in my laundry room. Upon reading these reviews I see there is a real problem with this machine. My parents and grandparents trusted and swore by Maytag products. Maybe then, but certainly not now. Maytag for me stands for landfill. I have had 2 Maytag certified service companies come to repair my washer that is only 6 years old and it's the same part both times which I am told by these service providers has been a problem and Maytag knows about it. But when I call Maytag all I get is some sound bite advising me there has been no recall and since I have an extended warranty I will have to take it up with them since that is who my contract is with. Of course they are only obligated to make a repair and cannot replace a defective unit. Of course not.
Far be it for Maytag to step up and really stand behind the promises they are making all over our television channels with the new Maytag man. The top of the washer is also all rusted out around the soap, bleach, and softener openings. It is a poorly made machine with known issues by a manufacturer that I will never buy from again. It's a sad day that manufacturers are not held accountable for inferior products and even sadder that this Maytag manufacturer boasts it's made in the USA for this machine. So is it back to China we go??? If you want America back you better support your product to your buyers.

This is was my first time experience to purchase Maytag Bravos XL (MWWB835DW) 5.3-cu High Efficiency Washer. I need it fast replacement to my front loader Samsung washer as it was recalled and had mold issues. I was looking for a High Efficient and Star Energy digital, glass top reliable machine. I may say that I was fooled by advertisement and promotion from the Advertisement and promotion from Home Depot. I did not know much about Maytag Brand but I was convinced by sales person and price promotion. Big Mistake! Huge! I am extremely dissatisfied with this washer, it doesn’t use enough water to cover the clothes! No matter which cycle you use, the clothes don’t come clean.
I wash and re-wash my clothes and ending up paying huge water and electric bills as I have to use deep hot water wash each time and after rewash again! Not so High Efficient! After using this machine for just over 6 month all my white expensive towels turned gray and all my whites is no longer white. This washer ruin my clothes. Another problem that this machine doesn’t have small load quick wash and if you have a small load it will go through 50 minutes cycle and I still need another wash after all! If I would wash my king size comforter I still have to do it twice and it does NOT rinse all the water out! I thought I can do big load but this machine cannot handle big loads!
My laundry days became a nightmare! I would not call this machine High Efficient at all! Company does bogus advertisement just to fool and attract consumers. This is terrible washer which make me think how possibly this machine is on the market and allowed to be sold? I did not notice problem till very late and I missed my 90 days return policy. Now I have to find another replacement. What a waste of money! I do not recommend this machine to my enemy. Please read reviews before buying this horrible machine. Do not miss your 90 days policy returns. Save your water and electric bills by avoiding Bravos XL. I would not recommend a Maytag front load washer to anyone. I bought a Maytag Maxima 4 years ago and it looks like it's not even available any longer so I'm writing my review on a similar machine because after much research I'm finding that all the Maytags have a similar issue. I have an MHW7000XG1 model large capacity washer. After 4 years the MCU went out and the cost to repair is $500. I looked up the error online and sadly there are so many others with the same problem. I had always thought that Maytag was built to last, however, after lots of research I am finding that 3-5 years is all you get before either the MCU or CCU (or both) have to be replaced.
After replacement most people get another few years and then it has to be replaced again. By that time I could have purchased a brand new washing machine. The appliance repair company told me to get a Speed Queen. That's the washer/dryer he has. They are built to last up to 20-25 years. I'm a single mom and can't afford to repair my washer or buy a new one so it looks like I'll be doing laundry at relatives house for a while. Terrible product and definitely not worth the $1500 I spent on it 4 years ago.

Purchased a Maytag Centennial Washer from Lowes. This is the NOISIEST WASHER I HAVE EVER HAD. Self Balancing, pretty much the way it is, YOU lift that heavy wet laundry and re-arrange to balance. It just "slams around" even moving the washer, until you do. This washer also doubles as a "BLENDER." It SHREDS laundry. The agitator does not go all the way down and thus, clothing, towels, rugs... get stuck under the agitator, wind around and RIP. Have had hundreds of dollars worth of laundry shredded such as: shirts, towels, new rugs and it even ripped the waist off a pair of my jeans!
The other laundry gets tied up on the stuck laundry and you end up with a twisted, ripped, tied up "Laundry Ball." It will not wash or rinse well when it does this, naturally. Brand new washing machine model MHW8200FW purchased at Karl's, a Ferguson subsidiary, in Madison, NJ end of June, 2017. I wanted to buy a top of the line machine and this is what the sales person recommended to me. Problems started soon after purchase. Initially I contacted Maytag because the machine wouldn't spin dry a cotton bath mat weighing 4.5lbs soaking wet. I was told I should put more items in the machine to help balance it. Well there WERE more items and the machine wouldn't spin dry them either. I tried every trouble shooting Maytag suggested. Having exhausted my nerves, I called for service. The technician came and said these machines are extremely sensitive and that sometimes they won't even run an empty cycle. He said this is a common complaint with these units. One of his suggestions was to take bath mats, duvets, comforters... articles like that to a laundromat.
I did less than 10 wash cycles after his visit when the washer started having more issues and finally broke down completely. The technician who came this time wrote a repair order indicating a mechanical (Stator) AND electrical (Control Panel) breakdown ($500+ for the parts alone if the unit wasn't under warranty). He also stated that he had never seen such problems in a brand new machine.
I contacted Maytag for an exchange. Maytag customer service wrote to me that the breakdowns are "... normal, with all the units we sell some may have a defect in the first couple of months..." and refused to exchange my defective unit. I can accept that there may be a defect that will warrant a repair, but in this case there are multiple defects in separate systems - mechanical and electrical - within the first month of service. This shouldn't warrant any further discussion, only a quick replacement and an apology.

In researching this online, we have discovered that it is probably the bearings. Bravos 4.3 High Efficiency Washer - The worst washer ever. I recently returned from burying my step-mother. She actually used the same washer and dryer, by Maytag, for over 50 years. Those days are gone forever. This is my second set of Maytags in ten years. The first literally stopped working just after the first year warranty ran out. I still have them inside my pantry, like a set of anchors. Notwithstanding that, I thought, Maytag was a good brand, it must have just been the style of machines, so I purchased these in January. After over six months of usage, I am amazed at how many times I have to wash a single load of clothing to get the items clean. Who cares if the machine saves water? What was wrong with having an agitator? I literally have to remove freshly laundered clothing, turn it over and run the wash again to get the top of the laundry clean.
I have had a blanket finish for the fourth time to get it clean, only to have to hang it outside because it is so full of water, the weight keeps it from spinning properly. And why would you remove a timer feature which permits very busy, working people, to wash their items while they are on the way home or in the middle of the night so that there is no waiting to pop the clothes in the dryer? None of the cycles takes less than 80 minutes to complete. Who has 80 minutes to wait on the washer to do its job? I am so upset about the amount of money I spent on all of these machines. Just think, I could have brought the over 50 years old set home from my step-mother's and had a washer and dryer do what they were supposed to do -- clean the clothes.

I have had more than 10 service calls on this washer in one year. I live in a rural area, so Maytag told me I was in a "non-serviceable area" and would have to wait WEEKS until they found a repair person willing to come to me. I only live 40 miles from Richmond VA, where I purchased the washing machine, so imagine my shock when they told me they couldn't fix it because of my location! I've had countless people in and out of my house, and it still does not work right. You can only do very small loads, so the perk of having an XL machine is none. But even at that, it does not properly clean anything, tangles clothes, and will leave even the cleanest items looking terrible when they come out.
I've had a new circuit board, new transmission, new bearings and gears, new balancing rods, and still, I'm left with a machine that does not wash and makes terrible grinding noises. I bought the washer and matching dryer as a set, and even the dryer had to get a new circuit board put in it in the 1st 60 days! After thousands of dollars in repairs on a $1000 washer, Maytag will not admit I have a defective machine and replace it! I just ran a load of laundry and have to call Maytag yet again, because the grinding noise gets louder with every run. Do not waste your money!
I would give anything to have the 29 year old set I gave away when I bought this garbage back! I have literally been on the phone with Maytag in tears because it doesn't work properly, I've had to throw away items that would not come clean because there is not a laundromat available in the town I live in. I called Maytag and of course they want to make sure the machine is level in at least 3 dimensional space as well as 2 parallel dimensions per String Theory. As far as the 3 dimensions, I assured them I had already thought of this (as an aside, ever try to find any flat metal on one of these machines? Kind of helps when using a level.)
So after more exciting conversation, they offered me a Warranty for $437. While trying to control my laughter, I said I could trash the Bravos and buy a new machine for that price. As far as repairing it, it cost $120 for a repairman to grace my door step plus $35 every 15 minutes plus parts -- again, the decision is to trash it and buy a new machine. In case I was too subtle in my comments, I WILL NEVER BUY A WHIRLPOOL PRODUCT AGAIN. I'm too frustrated to tell you about my KitchenAid fridge. We purchased this washer from HHGregg and they are no longer in business or I would complain to them about selling faulty products. I don't know why the manufacturer decided to remove the agitator from new models. What a mistake! We have decided to get rid of this washer and buy another brand. No more Maytag (or Whirlpool) products... ever!

We have had this washer/dryer stack up for about 2 years now. Not long after it was purchased from Best Buy, it started smelling like mold, even though we were doing everything possible to keep it ventilated. Best Buy employee said that service was not covered by the warranty that we purchased, so they suggested we YOUTUBE some ideas on how to get rid of the smell. They said it was a common complaint for front load washers. We have tried Affresh, hot water and bleach, hot water with vinegar and lavender, etc. Nothing is working. There is mold on the plastic inside the washer door and the stench is horrible now. You can smell it when you walk into our home. I believe that stench is the reason we are all having respiratory problems, allergies, etc. I just don't know what to do anymore. Really frustrating!! These appliances cost a lot of money.

I am submitting this review today to express my disappointment with my Maytag washer. This is the Maytag MVWX655DW (Bravo), with Serial# C61842055. In August of 2016 I lost many treasured items due to a flood in Lafayette, Louisiana. My daughter and I were devastated and displaced because of this event. This is also in addition to completing Cancer treatment 2 days before the flood.
I lost my GE washer which was a great product. It was a struggle for a long time, but we were finally get back on our feet. I was able to get another place to live, and it was time to purchase a washer. I was told that Maytag was one of the best products on the market, so I decided to purchase my first Maytag washer. This did not turn out well for me, and it was very disappointing. After 9 months of ownership of this product, it is broken! It is my belief that the product may have been defective.
I put in a service call, and had a repairman come to my apartment on June 19th. I was told that my washer needs several parts to repair it, including a pump. I have never had this issue with prior washers. My previous washer before my GE purchase survived for over 10 years before it has had any issues. I called on June 26th to ask about Maytag issuing me a new washer or a full refund, instead of repairing this faulty product. I was told no, and was offered and extended warranty for 6 more months and $75.00. I expressed to her that I would rather have a new washer.
The Bravo Washer is a very bad product. Instead of taking advantage of customers, Maytag needs to stand by that 10 year warranty sticker on the washer. Please understand this purchase is a LEMON. This washer did not last a year. After all I have been through, I did not need this financial hardship. In the long run, this product will die again. Unfortunately for me I may not be able to afford to purchase another washer. I am still getting follow-up treatment for my Cancer, and it is very expensive. Can someone please re-evaluate the need for a replacement washer or offer me a full refund? This product should not be broken after only 9 months of service.

First off. Maytag customer service is horrible. I purchased a Maytag washer & used it 8 time. It now doesn't rinse the soap out of my clothing or even clean anything. The washer isn't broken because thousands of other people with the same exact washer have written negative reviews everywhere online. The washer needs to be recalled & never sold again. Maytag is making people SICK and they don't care. My whole family had skin irritation because we didn't realize our new washer wasn't rinsing.

BROKE AFTER 3 YRS. Purchase a new Maytag model: MVWC425BW1 top load washer and dryer after just 3yrs of use. It failed and to find out this is a common problem with these new open drum washers. The bearings go out. Be aware do not purchase them and they also do not wash your clothes good, clothes just stay in same position and you have to wash 2-3 extra washes. It was going to cost 350.00 plus to repair so I purchased Speed Queen that has good reviews. Tech said that top load open barrel washers have been a nightmare.

I do not recommend this product. I purchased them 2 years ago. Within one month, the drum stopped working on the dryer. This was covered under warranty. In the last month, though, I have noticed that there are blue stains on the new drum. I do not leave clothes in the dryer wet. Last week, the washer stopped agitating or cleaning clothes even though the cycle would still run. I called for a service call and paid $82 for this. I found out the transmission was not working. This is not covered under the warranty.
The warranty for entire machine is only 1 year. The 2-10 year warranty only covers the drive motor and wash basket. I cannot understand why a transmission is not covered. I feel like they are not standing behind their product. Finally, after a lot of talking, I did get Maytag to agree to cover the cost of the transmission part; but I am still obligated to pay $150 for labor. Why are products not standing up to use as in the past? I am very disappointed with these products.

Very noisy on each cycle. Now the dryer: Does not dry clothes fully especially towels. Start button has become separated so now we have to open back panel each time we want to start a load which you have to do many times because it does not fully dry. I am so frustrated! Both needs maintenance before the 1 year warranty ends. The washer was the worst between the pair. The washer cannot spin the laundry dry. The Home Depot extended warranty plan was not the cost. It takes 2 business day for the service call to call us back. Then a schedule date was 2 days later. The service person complained about not getting authorization to do the work without charging us. He did even showed up for the 3rd call.
He did nothing to resolve the issue and said the diagnostics showed there was a load issue, which was not true. A very light load still didn't spin dry. The washer not spinning clothing dry issue has been more than 1 month and is still not resolved. The repair person Dean didn't even re-schedule another date after not showing up today. There is a 90 day policy that we can't request for another repair person to attend to the issue. The dryer also made excessive noise which was caused by a broken attachment that established the drum.

Two years ago I purchased a Maytag Top-Loading HE Low-Water washer. I have always taken great pride in the way my laundry looks and smells but since this purchase, my laundry no longer smells clean and fresh nor does it look clean. I have always used the same detergent and fabric softener (only now I use the HE version) and it served me well. I have read all of the directions and did as I was instructed. I cannot believe that anyone would actually think that you can do laundry with practically no water. Do the decision makers have not common sense at all? I didn't and still don't believe it but what choice did I have when all of the machines are now HE with low water. I think it's terrible that consumers don't have a choice. I have come to realize that low water, HE washing machines actually waste more time, energy and money (detergent and fabric softener).
My clothes are not clean, nor do they smell good when the wash cycle is finished so I have to wash them again, using more detergent, fabric softener and energy. The super fast spin that supposedly sucks out most of the moisture, also rumples my laundry with semi-permanent wrinkles (even on the low wrinkle setting) so clothes that never had to be ironed before, now need pressing.
I find it remarkable that, with all of the detergent ads promoting washing clothes in cold water to save energy, we are told that if our clothes are not sufficiently clean in cold water in our HE washers, that we should try a warmer/hot temperature. Good luck with that because my machine has several temperature settings but only uses one - COLD! I cannot actually believe that with all of the technology that our society holds, we are going backwards in the basics of washing clothes. Terrible product, terrible quality, terrible results, terrible waste of time, resources and money. Why can't you just leave some things alone??

You can't switch modes in the middle of a load, and if you leave it paused too long, it drains on you. I've tried balling everything up as the manufacturer advised. I tried using less detergent, again as advised. Nothing works. Sometimes the clothes on top don't even get wet. Don't waste your money!! When I was younger, Maytag meant something, not anymore! I have tried in every way to get the washer to wash properly, but to no avail. The water level doesn't cover the clothes, it takes 10 to 15 minutes for the wash to begin its cycle. It doesn't spin the clothes dry enough to put into the dryer. The washer makes all kinds of sounds that's drives you nuts while setting up to not wash your clothes clean. I have contacted Maytag on several occasion about this problem, they sent out someone to service the washer. Now, why would a brand new washer need servicing. Something's wrong. It isn't functioning up to standards and they should give me another washer.
Now on 05/18/17 the washer was serviced, I have called them again to do something about this piece of **. I was told that the only thing they could do is come service it again. Why, must this brand new washer be serviced every week. It doesn't make sense... I don't want this machine, I want my money back so I can purchase a machine that will wash my clothes properly. I purchased a secondhand washer and dryer from a used appliance store, it lasted my family 10 complete year. The only reason I don't have it now is because I wanted to upgrade, since I have never had a brand new set. What a disappointment. Everything that looks good from Maytag isn't good. I don't understand why they won't stand behind their product.
Something's got to be done about this. Maytag will not take my money 1,200 and force me to keep this malfunctioning piece of nothing. I'm going to Youtube this product so the consumer can see how this product doesn't work properly, therefore they won't waste their hard earned money. I will be contacting the BBB Nashville, and wherever I need to. I will let the consumer know the make and model of this product and where it was purchased from. Maytag I want every penny back. And, should hold you responsible for ever time I have had to go to the wash house because my brand new set won't work, and your company wants to service it every time I try to wash. Except it has already been 40 minutes and it claims there is still 9 more left as it continues to sit there doing nothing while it hasn't even started spinning yet. It Sat on 13 minutes while "sensing" for over 5 minutes, then 12 for 10 minutes while doing nothing, then it changed to 11 minutes and made some weird noises but didn't actually do anything for 15 minutes, and now the timer randomly changed from 11 to 9 without any noises or movement happening and now continues to sit here.
I stupidly thought I could spin my clothes real quick to throw them in the dryer before bed and now I stand here extremely tired and very irritated. I also have no doubt some of the clothes will have holes in them when they're done because they always do, my family looks like we're homeless and ratty half the time we get dressed now. Also it never deep cleans thoroughly even on the toughest settings, I swear our socks can be washed 3 times in a row after being soaked all day and still come out crusty or a lot of times the armpits of shirts will still smell or be ultra stained with deodorant marks still.
This technology is almost too advanced and everything is decided by sensor, regardless of the registered functions on the buttons it will still do what it wants as the sensors see fit and run when they decide everything is perfect and ready, including taking 10 minutes just to unlock the lid when you pause a load cuase a small child may drown in the foot of water or a person may have their life completely altered by getting a little bit wet if the machine isn't completely drained and in pristine condition before you open the door. This machine is terrible. This company is terrible. And worst of all they drain your wallet for these horrible contraptions. I wish I could rate this 0 stars.

This is the absolute worst washer, I have to pause the washer after the water level that the sensor allows finishes and add at least a bucket more of water to cover the clothes and clean them properly and rinse them twice to make sure the residue from the soap gets washed off (I use HE pods, so not using too much soap).
Certainly not what you would expect when you buy a high-end appliance. I'm going to replace it, but I cannot even try to recoup any money back, as I couldn't/ wouldn't be able to sell it to anyone knowing that it is just garbage!! You would think that a high-end appliance company like Maytag would admit that this appliance is a mistake and offer the consumers that purchased this junk a credit towards a washer that will do what is expected!! The other four knit shirts wrapped around the one that was caught in the door and the weight and force of the shirts pulled the gasket out of its socket during the wash cycle causing the floor to fill with water again. I'm not sure that the guys who designed this unit ever actually tested it. During the wash cycle, if you have something like a fitted sheet it will actually stuff all of the surrounding wash items into the sheet until it forms one huge, round ball. Then it gets really interesting because the vicious spin cycle sends the machine marching around the laundry room and this happens even if the wash has not balled up. I now try to evenly distribute the wash within the tub prior to starting the wash cycle but it doesn't work. So now I grab a cup of coffee and newspaper and sit with my washer throughout the entire spin cycle to make sure that the hoses don't tear out of the wall.

I had a serviceman out a few weeks ago. He said Maytag knows that there is a problem, however, there is no service bulletin that is out yet on it. In addition, he ran all of the codes and told me there is nothing wrong with my machine. That must be why I have to iron almost every piece of clothing in this house. Maytag will hopefully give me decent customer service on this, or I will come unglued. For the price of this washing machine, I expected much more.

My husband purchased the Bravos XL washing machine less than a year ago at Benson's Maytag in Peoria, Illinois. Within months of purchase we noticed our clothing coming out with stains they didn't have prior to washing. After hundreds of $$'s of clothing ruined we realized it was due to the fabric softener dispenser. We cleaned the machine multiple times & ceased using fabric softener. No luck.
Today I finally had enough & called Benson's service department. The fellow I spoke with told me, "You are not supposed to use fabric softener with the Bravos XL." I asked why a $1000 washing machine would have a dispenser you were supposed to use. He told me it was because "people like to use it" BUT you weren't supposed to use it. I asked, "Why would there be a dispenser if you weren't supposed to use it." He told me the salesperson should have explained it during the transaction or I should have read the owner's manual more thoroughly. I asked how I needed to go about correcting the problem & he told me to clean out the machine with really, really hot water. I explained we had multiple times.
He didn't have any other suggestions so I asked about setting up a service call & requested he access my information so we could verify the warranty. He confirmed the unit was under warranty. I asked to schedule service & was told there would be a $50 service call fee. I told him, "I would figure that would be under warranty" to which he explained it would only be under warranty if it was the machine ruining my clothes. I asked, "What other reason would there be for my ruined clothes" and he told me if the laundry was being ruined because I used fabric softener it would not be under warranty. So I repeated that saying "So you are telling me if the machine is ruining my clothing because I used fabric softener it will not be under warranty?" and he got flustered and basically said he didn't exactly say that and they couldn't confirm anything until a tech took a look at the machine. I told him I would have to speak to my husband.
So this is my question... why on Earth do we have a company building $1000 washing machines WITH A FABRIC SOFTENER DISPENSER if you are not supposed to use it? I have never, ever, EVER had a washing machine do such a lousy job. I have never, ever, EVER been afraid to put clothing in a washing machine... not even in a cheap, crappy laundromat. Shame on you, Maytag!

We had a Maytag washer and dryer for over 32 years, the same washer and dryer. Finally our washer failed. We thought it would be a good idea to stick with Maytag. My husband purchased the Bravos XL Maytag washing machine. It is the worst washing machine ever and I regret the purchase. The washing machine doesn't clean clothes. If you use a powdered soap of any kind it leaves residue all over your clothes due to the fact it doesn't use enough water.
It binds everything up. It becomes unbalanced with any larger load. Completely ties your sheets and your pants into knots. Yes literally I pull my clothes out and they are in a knot. The washer started to leak about two months ago after having it for a year-and-a-half. We couldn't locate the leak so we had to call a repairman and it cost us over $240 in parts and labor.

My Maytag top loading washer, 4 years old, stopped working in the middle of a wash cycle. Registered Maytag repairman did a diagnosis and finally identified the problem with the control board. The cost of the control board would have cost almost as much as the original wash machine especially since I had to pay for the current service call and labor (to diagnose the problem). After having read a number of other reviews from dissatisfied customers, I will not buy another Maytag product. I was under the impression that Maytag produced a superior appliance but was disappointed by this experience.

My husband and I just purchased on 4/8/17 a BRAND NEW MAYTAG 4.3 CUBIC FEET CAPACITY FRONT LOADING WASHER WITH STEAM AFTER OUR PREVIOUS 15 year old washer that we both used just finally started having issues. So we decided to go new and with front loader with good brand. How sadly I was wrong! We brought our washer home, hooked it up and turned it on with 1/2 load of tiny laundry. It didn't even make it through one load! This POS started throwing error codes E1, E2, F8, F9, Suds and wouldn't drain any water.
We reviewed the manual again, checked the filter hoses and detergent. All was fine but washer wouldn't work! I called Maytag 2 days later on Monday and after repairman came to look at it Thursday said it needs new drain pump and today now power won't turn on and nothing will work on front of machine, mind you this machine is brand new! I am so disgusted and angry that any company would sell this quality to anybody and at the prices they charge! NEVER AGAIN WILL I PURCHASE ANOTHER MAYTAG!

Was assured the washer could do comforters, etc. Well, I took a video of the washer doing 5 t-shirt, 1 pair of pants, and 3 pairs of socks on the power wash cycle. Nothing tumbled. All the plate did was swish some water around on the bottom. Clothes weren't clean at all. Check my Youtube video, and you can watch the leg of the pair of pants sticking up out of the water and never getting back down in to get wet. Horrible horrible machine. With that said, called the company I bought it from, and they arranged for a front loader since I'd only had the machine for a couple hours. Stuck me for a second delivery fee though, which I wasn't happy about. We'll see when the new one gets here Tuesday.

Maytag top loader washing machine - Worst appliance purchase ever made. Does not clean laundry, takes all day to do 5 or 6 loads. Not enough water to properly wash or rinse load, even using the "deep water" setting (a joke). A load of 2 king size sheets and 4 pillow cases wadded up in a ball and rattled around so hard in the spin cycle, it pulled the plug out of the wall.
Maytag sent out technician who conducted diagnostic testing, which did not include any actual laundry. Technician said machine was operating as intended and verified I was using the machine properly. I have tried to return this machine since the first load was done and realized it was a disaster. Maytag refused to help. In fact, their phone agent had the audacity to suggest I wash one sheet at a time to prevent the machine from moving across the floor so far the plug came out of the wall. Maytag surely is not what it used to be. I'm sorry I did not know they, like so many other companies, don't care about their reputation or customer service, not to mention producing a quality product. Stay away from this product!!! Let's just say one star is too much for this product. Terrible. Let's just say one star is too much for this product. We bought this washer 2/2017. We used our previous Maytag washing machine for about 15 years without any problems. But this machine on the first try was a big disappointment because it did not wash clothes very well. Clothes come out of washing machine smelling bad and you could see the soap scum on darker clothing. We try to return the machine to Home Depot after 3 days, but they said after 48 hours they could not take it back. So if there was any problems we had to call a technician to repair it. Well, there is nothing to repair because that's just the way the machine is designed to conserve water.
Worst washer and the customer service is even worse than this machine because they just keep repeating that if there is nothing to repair then, there is no problem. So, therefore it's not their responsibility. TERRIBLE!!! I even bought their extended warranty and that doesn't do anything with dissatisfaction on this product. If you are owner of this company or at least care about your company, you should stop making this kind of product, and listen to people's complaints!!! What a waste of our hard earned money in this bad economy!!!

Thought it would be listed with Maytag. They said no. I said OK. They recommended A+ to come out and said it would be $60.00. That was OK because I wanted to prevent any problems with the washer in the future. I thought them checking it would be a preventative measure. The tech came out opened it up said there wasn't much hair or any other problems. Put it back together, plugged it in. There was a Big popping noise and smoke! Washer no longer worked. The man said doesn't make sense but he would fix it and not charge me for parts etc. I called Maytag. They refused to do anything since it was out of warranty even though they recommended this company and there was absolutely nothing wrong with it in the beginning.
After about 2 months he still couldn't fix it. About this time I found papers for a warranty with the Home Depot. The repairman said he works with Home Depot as well. Told me to contact them but I needed to pay $120.00 to him and file a claim and then he would fix it. Apparently he does not do service work for Home Depot. They sent out other repairmen. They tried to fix it but apparently it was deemed unserviceable he blew the mother board. Home Depot said they would replace or reimburse me the amount I paid for washer. Then a machine called said they were sending me a check. We will probably never buy another Maytag! Even though I want to buy American if they won't help or stand behind their products. It was under warranty so it was fixed and no problems after that. In July of 2016 I have my first stainless steel hose break at the fitting because of corrosion flooding my laundry room. I thought it was a fluke so I put another one. The next hose started to corrode in September 2016. We thought there was some weird chemical reaction going on between the hose and the filter on the back of the machine. So we changed to rubber hoses in September. Since then we have gone through 6 sets of rubber hoses.
We have had the water company out, they say our water is fine. A plumber out, our new water heater is fine as is our plumbing. An electrician, who changed an outlet and put a grounding wire on our house water line. And an appliance repair man, he found the problem so he called Whirlpool who makes Maytag. There is corrosion on the water temp control. However nobody has EVER seen this problem and doesn't know how to fix it. Not even Whirlpool. And Whirlpool says it's my house. My new 2017 Maytag washer Bravos XL MCT top load purchase has been very disappointing. I now regret I didn't try to return it in the first month as offered. It makes these horribly loud sounds that shake the house and make it impossible to sleep as you can hear throughout the house. You'd think new technology and $650 machine would be quiet. Several times we've had to restart because the rinse didn't get all the water out, and you can't select spin only. You must do a whole new rinse cycle. Stains don't come out, now we have to scrub before, where our 15 year old GE did a better job.
Surprisingly you don't even get stainless steel for this price, the most expensive and largest model they sold. We have 3 teenage boys and thought we would be able to wash large loads, in fact you can't or it won't spin them dry or clean them. When you select power wash it only uses hot water & takes over an hour (minimum 107 minutes, 120 with two rinse cycles) to wash with one rinse. I now wish I had bought a less expensive washer with a agitator, just glad I didn't buy the dryer now.

I had a tub failure on my washer Whirlpool Duet, which I bought brand new and it lasted 12 years with no problems. The dryer is still in use at my son's house. However, this failure lead me on a search for a set to replace the duet. I did some research and found the Maytag 6.2 Cu. Ft top loader and huge Dryer to match. The set was not cheap and it did have high marks for a great washer. So, I bought them both and had them delivered on 12/30/16. I have read all the owners manual and watched YouTube videos to see how to use this machine with all its pretty lights and sounds. I will concede that the machines look great, very impressive in my laundry room. I would bet it would even be a plus when I go to sell the house.
THAT is all the nice stuff I can say. The machine does not clean clothes and I have done all the settings. I have changed laundry detergents, and even tried to add a little more water with a bucket at the start of the wash. (Saw that one on YouTube.) REALLY. That did not work, nor should I have to do that to get it to clean well. The answer seems to be, set the machine on FULL tub of water. So, I tried that for a couple of times and found that the clothes just float around and since they do not touch the Wear Plate they don't get clean. My wife (yes, I am a man that does most of the laundry) said she hates the washer and I was an idiot for buying this expensive piece of metal that does nothing but take up space and leaves spots on your clothes. Have you heard the term Happy Wife-Happy Life. Well not so much for me now.
Spending money even $2,500.00 on a washer and dryer seems a little crazy. But I had the extra money and I have always wanted a MAYTAG. These guys know how to make a washer. Boy was I wrong, this machine must be an embarrassment to Maytag. I know I am really shocked that you would sell this machine as top of the line. I am not sure what Maytag will do, but I thought I would give you a chance to make this right. I have attached pictures of the machines installed and pictures of the model number plates. I have faith that Maytag will step up. My wife said this was a waste of time. The ball is in your court Maytag. (Come on Maytag let me win this one.) - Just a man and his dirty clothes.

The situation requires several loads of washing each day due to her conditions. TWO WEEKS after starting to use it we began having issues with the washer. It would stop in the cycle, lights flashing, only way to restart is to unplug it, move control from wash cycles setting to drain and spin... then within the next 3-4 loads it would do it again. Sometimes it sat for awhile I would smell like an "electronics Odor" getting hot... I called Lowe's. They replaced it. Approximately 3 weeks later the NEW washer began doing the SAME THING...

According to the repairman and the parts diagnostics online, it would be about $400 in parts and $200 in labor and is NOT COVERED in Warranty. Yes $600 of repairs after 4 years.. Not doing it. They say the inner drum is covered, (what goes wrong with a stainless inner drum really) but the bearings, seal and outer drum is NOT covered. So don't bother with extra years of warranty. Like Ron Paul said, "we have toilets that don't flush and washers that don't wash thank you environmentalists." No agitators I suppose were to reduce energy too. Well our cloths seldom smelled fresh and we were careful not to put in too much soap because heaven knows, that is the first thing a dishwasher or washer tech will tell you.. IT'S YOUR FAULT.. You used two tablespoons instead of one. This is all BS.
We just bought a GE for 35% less money, has manual dials, has PREsoak settings in 15 minute increments, has an agitator, has dials that let you set whatever levels you want and not preelectronic programmed. When it breaks, We won't call a repair man. We will fill the frigging Landfills with more of this crap so I hope you environmentalist are happy. We used to get 20 years or more out of our appliances. Will probably just have to throw it out and it's brand new.

Bravos washer purchased Sept. 2016. I purchased the Maytag washer based on experience and reputation. I am so disappointed in this washer. I have had the control board replaced after only 3 months and it vibrates, shakes and is very noisy. It does not fill with enough water and the clothes are tangled at the end of the wash. I will never buy another Maytag.

Bought the top load water saving washer 3 years ago and paid around $500 dollars for it. It will not operate correctly. I always thought Maytag was the best!! My main complaint is I cannot get no one on the phone to ask questions about what might be wrong with it!! Now I'm angry, it's like you buy it, it's yours, we aren't worried about you after that!! I am on a fixed income and no one cares!! I'll never buy anything manufactured by Maytag ever again!!

I have never been so disappointed in purchasing an appliance for my home. The Maytag Bravo XL large capacity top loader, has never worked properly, and I have many ruined pieces of clothing. Although it has a very large capacity, the water barely fills to a 1/4, and clothes are sticking out of the water, while they are supposed to be submerged/being washed IN the water. Clothes come out of the washer smelling foul. WORST WASHING MACHINE EVER.

Purchased this washer (Maytag Washer Model MVWC565FWO) from Lowe's on Nov 11, 2016. This is the worst washer I have ever had in my life and it will be out of my home soon. It is so loud when we first used it even my dog sat there and barked at it. I tell me people it sounds like a rocket launching from Cape Canaveral. The clothes come out all twisted and hence when dried are all wrinkled. It does not give me the option to control the water level. On the auto level it barely puts enough water to cover the clothes. On the deep water wash same thing not enough water to wash the clothes properly.
The soak cycle is the worst. It soaks for only 20 minutes and then dispels the water... if I turn it off it still dispels the water. If I want to soak things I also emailed Maytag one week after I purchased this and guess what no response whatsoever from them. Overnight I have to unplug it from the wall. I am so upset over this washer it has to go. Stay away from this model. Guess the Maytag man died. I say stay away from this model.

Bought this Bravo washer from a Sears Outlet Store. Had trouble the first 2 weeks and did all the troubleshooting to no avail. Just when I was ready to return it to the store I decided to try one more thing. The guys who hooked it up had reversed the water hoses - cold was hooked up to the hot intake, and hot water was hooked up to the cold intake. Took all of 5 minutes to switch the hoses to the correct intake and the machine works like a charm. MAKE SURE THE WATER IS HOOKED UP CORRECTLY.

First let me say I have used Maytag products for 46 years. A little over a year ago bought a new Maytag Centennial Washer (Model MVWC555DW) for a cousin which was responsible to looking after as he had been brain damaged since birth. Needless to say when I started having trouble with clothes not washing and having to bring to my home and wash was not satisfactory. This machine never worked right but until after the 1 year warranty could get by. Needless to say I will never buy another Maytag appliance but now have a Maytag washer/dryer, stove and dishwasher in my home. Maytag is Not the quality that is use to be. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS MACHINE AND ALSO UNDERSTAND FROM LOWE'S THEY HAVE HAD A LOT OF TROUBLE WITH THIS MODEL.
