The last hot tub we’ve had prior to getting this one was about 12 years ago. And it’s always exciting to get a new hot tub installed especially that for this one, we had built a deck. Also, winter is coming along so it’s a nice time to get in the hot tub. Since the installation, my wife uses the tub every night for relaxation. She grew up around natural hot springs in Eastern California, so soaking in warm water brings her back to her childhood. Overall, it's been a very good experience.

Installation went fine, but we were sent wrong parts at first, so the job was incomplete for a couple of weeks. So we’re sitting there using unsafe materials to get in and out of the hot tub and was told it would take eight weeks to get the proper steps. So I had to call a corporate office in Oregon. I got a hold of somebody and they said they will get on it. I was told I’d be called back on a Monday, but I never received the call. So I had to call them. I had to always make the initiative to make the call and put heed on people to get it done in a timely fashion. I didn’t feel like they were trying to rectify their mistake. I love the product, it is great. But if I were going to do it over again I would probably try a different company just to see what happens.

We bought it four months ago. We put it inside our car garage which had its challenges. The floor wasn’t flattened out and we had to have that ground down. It’s close to one of the walls in the garage, so we had this company come in and put up Fiber Resin Panel but they didn’t do well. It started to bubble up so we had to tear that out and then we finally went to polished tiles. It was put in the last two weeks and we’re so happy with the result. However, it ended up costing $6,000 to do all these things.

Also, they didn’t put the covers on correctly at first. You couldn’t put in the pole for putting up the harnesses, but they came back, re-drilled holes and moved them out. And that’s satisfactory. I love the radio built in, it’s like a Bluetooth to take my iPhone. I love the LED and stuff that color the water as well. I like the light blue because it reminds of Tahiti. But the seat is too high and it has the majority of the jets. I have to slouch down quite a bit to get the neck jet on my neck. I’m only 6’1”, I’m not huge but I’m tall. If it was lower, it would be a little better because you end up sliding down, so the current sometimes move you out of position. And there’s no way to grab an arm or anything.

The spa also doesn’t have dials on the outside of the massage jet, you can just touch them and they turn. It should have a lot more resistance. Then sometimes, the nozzles of the big jets change too far up and sometimes get too much up above water current in your space as you’re swimming but a half circle of foam will keep it locked in.

I have a problem right now so I am going to call Patrick from Leisure. I got a new router and I had to turn off the spa a couple of times while they were doing the tile wall because we only got a couple of big tarps over it and I didn’t want those blocking the intakes. And now, the Wi-Fi is not getting picked up when I connect with my iPhone.

But I love it and it’s great relaxation. My wife has rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis and it was recommended by a number of people including her rheumatologist. When she has her flares, they get bad and her feet hurt and her hands feel uncomfortable, even just walking up the stairs to get into it. We’re very happy we got it. The hydrotherapy helps. We turn it on high and the wall with swirling water, bubble and everything brings her comfort. I’m also going to be 62 in December and I’m hunched over working at a computer desk all day and I get knots on my neck and sore back. It’s wonderful and it’s a godsend. I’ve highly recommended ATV to somebody else.

My husband and I had talked about a swimming pool before but it’s just too much maintenance. But this swim spa is so easy to take care of. All we got to do is keep up with their chemical levels. Also I love the fact that it has a cleaning cycle every 12 hours. I’ve been pleased with ATV Swim Spas and they’ve done a very good job. It had my life changed for the better and recommended it to a lot of people. I’ve had some people come over, look at what I’ve got and done so far. I’m having a gazebo built over the top it so I can get in it all year round.
