I had an existing home security system. There's a lot more competition that was out compared to when I first moved in to my home. So, I was looking for a balance between features and price. I went with Link Interactive because it was a very no pressure type of sales experience, which is big for me. It was a good experience. That is rare nowadays, and it is always refreshing to go through that experience with them. The rep was open and honest. The features that were offered were perfect and they didn't oversell too much. What ended up sealing the deal for me was that I could use a lot of the existing hardware at my house from my prior company, and they were gonna give me a no cost new base unit to use. It wouldn’t cost me any extra equipment fees to utilize their service, and then I would get the newer technology, and also the cellphone service to turn on and off the alarm.
The self-install was easy. I got lucky that it was a swap from what was there before. I ended up replacing the main unit with the system that’s compatible with their network. The prior company did a good job of wiring everything, so I didn’t have to run wires through the wall. I was able to swipe out the power cord and then I had to take out my drill and mount some screws to mount the new unit. There was a combination setting up the sensors one-by-one, which didn’t take very long. The Link Interactive staff were helpful to teach me how to install everything, which was cool. The cost of Link Interactive's service is fair. It's $15 a month less than what I was paying before, and I'm getting faster, better, and higher technology. The smartphone feature is great and it's faster. It is on 4G, so things are a lot quicker when I have to disarm and arm, which I like.

I had a home security system I wanted to get reactivated and Link Interactive was the first one I found that had a good price on Black Friday. I got everything virtually for free so I went with it. Link’s rep was extremely polite and he helped me out through everything. It was a really good experience. Also, the system's features are nice, but I already had cameras and the only thing I needed were the sensors. I had existing ones, and I had a little trouble during installation. I had to get an adapter to adapt from the new panel to the old sensors, but I got it no problem after a while. Everything else was extremely easy and the Link Interactive staff was perfect. I’m out of town currently and my cat dropped a clock on the ground. The glass break sensor went off, so the system works and it’s good to know that it works.

Originally, we had a security system from ADT. Then, it became a Comcast monitored system. But it was old, wasn't really a supported technology, and was wired. So, we purchased a new one and we bought from Link Interactive because of the mix of what they offered and their price. Installing the equipment was super easy and the instructions were good. Link set up all the sensors before they shipped them and they were all prenamed and numbered. I just had to know where to put them.
Aside from that, I like their app that we can use to set and check things. But I wish it had auto-arm and auto-disarm features where, for example, everything automatically arms at 9 o'clock at night. Right now, our system sends us a reminder that it's not armed and we go arm it, but it doesn't just automatically arm or disarm. Comcast had these feature in their app and I would like to have that back. But other than that, the customer service at Link is really good and the guy remembers me whenever I call.

I liked Link Interactive's price. So, I got their security system for my business. Their sales reps were very helpful and our interaction was really seamless. I told them the size of my building and what I wanted, then they picked out all the proper equipment I needed. Everybody I spoke to at Link was very knowledgeable, too. And when I had a service problem, they took care of it and didn’t get off the phone until it was done. Their technical support team was excellent as well because when I had problems with cameras, they were able to take care of everything within an hour.
When I installed the equipment, it was very easy because I'm handy. I've put in a lot of systems in and this was one of the easiest that I've done. Anybody could put this in. Other than that, the cost was perfect and so far, I'm getting everything I paid for. The cameras and doors are working fine and one of the best features of the system is the wireless feature and the batteries. So, I don’t have to run a cable and that makes it so much easier to use. Then, they said that the life of the battery is two years, so it's not like I'm gonna have to change them every week. Aside from that, I watch my cameras on the cellphone and that feature works well. There's no stutter. I downloaded it on my phone and everything was working. I also set my alarm from the phone and keep moving.

I worked for ADT authorized retailers and compared to them, Link Interactive's prices were really great and competitive. I'm also in the security business and I work for Vector where for $15 more a month, we'll install the same software that Link uses, 2GIG panels, and all Alarm.com stuff. But we'll install, program, and customize all of that for the person, and even include a free camera. So, Link is up against a hard deal because even with my experience in programming, I added some sensors myself to my package and unless they're pre-programmed, it'd be kind of difficult and time-consuming for the average person to install. And it took me four hours to put everything up. But the average person doesn't have that much time and they don't wanna deal with it.
Otherwise, everything worked out really well for me at Link and I've had no issues. I'm very satisfied with the equipment and my wife loves our security system. But I had some issues with the garage door openers and I gave up on those because I don't have the time to mess with them. Other than that, Link has outstanding customer service to the point where it was almost annoying, which is a good thing because you want the customer to feel comfortable. In fact, the customer service gentleman that I dealt with when I had an issue with the garage door openers reached out to wherever he could to try and prompt-troubleshoot the issues we were having. So I know that if I have time, I could call them then he's gonna start calling me and helping me fix it.

We wanted to purchase a home security system for safety. We were using Link in a different state and because of familiarity with comfort, we went with them again. My husband set up, and everything was good. When I was calling to set the service up itself, the rep was helpful and friendly, and he got the job done fast. We have the standard security system, and it seems good quality. Everything is in working order and I haven’t had any issues. The Link system is cost-efficient and reliable, and we’ve had it for years.

I’ve been using Link for about four months now and today, one of my motion sensors went off on a false alarm kind of a deal. It looks like there' something wrong with one sensor reader but it already tripped twice, so I’m gonna call the representatives later this afternoon and either have them send me a replacement one or try to figure out what the deal is.
Other than that, I have no issues with Link Interactive and I’m completely fine with the service. Initially, I got their service when I bought a new house. I did my own research on the internet and I found Link to be much more competitive than the other alarm systems out there. Their customer service reps explained everything perfectly and whatever questions I had, they were making sure that I got the answers that I wanted. The installation was simple as well and I was able to set everything up pretty fast. The features of my security system are exactly what I expected so far and I’m happy with what I have. I’ve even told my friend about Link Interactive.

I have had this Link Interactive approx. 3 years before deciding to discontinue service. I did not realize that when an alarm was triggered, they did not have their own crew that would come out to check on the alarm. I had gotten them through Costco, so I figured that they would be legit in this manner, obviously not. In August of 2018 was the first false alarm that was triggered and the first time that I figured out that they was a third party involved to check out the home (this was not the police dept either, just a third party). My system started to fail me, daily the alarm system was triggered and an automated call was calling both my wife and I.
On Dec, 2018 the alarm must have triggered itself because I had just walked out, but no sound had gone off, so I figured that it was ok. The usual phone call came through, but as we had known it was another false alarm. This time however, they decided to call their third party, for once again a non emergency, and again charge us. This was the final straw. It's like that commercial where they are there to only monitor, not there to send out their own crew that you think you pay for them to do. Lastly, I read the fine print because I had the company send me our agreement. It states the at their option, they can either charge or not charge for these extra fees. They chose to charge, I chose to quit and write about it. In the end it's your money.

This has been made clear. It is in the contract, the installation guide, and your welcome email. There are less than 20 areas in all of America where Guard Response is a law. This is the case with any company. I don't know of any other company that will cover this for free. Most people from these jurisdictions already are aware of it. Sorry things didn't work out. I wish you all the best.

My apartment was broken into so I purchased a home security system. I went online and found out Link Interactive is one of the best five. I read about them and chose them. And their price was reasonable. The reps were very friendly and were very good people. That’s one of the reasons why I chose them. They’re very helpful and they supply every detail. Also, the installation was easy. I called twice and they were fast, especially after work hours, they had people to help me.
I like the features in my package. I bought a lot of sensors, even the motion sensor, and camera, too, and all of them are very useful. Also, the smart features are very helpful. Especially with my case, I forget to alarm the system always, so they have like reminders and make it very easy. I recommend Link. My wife feels safe now. She wasn’t able to even stay at the apartment. But with this system, it’s okay for her now, especially after she went through the experience of somebody invading her privacy.

I got the Link system with the business I purchased, and I continued with it. Transferring it into my name from the previous was not very smooth, but it was okay. The Link system is old, so quality-wise it is not as good as the new ones. One or two sensors are not working. The smartphone features are okay, but I’m wondering if I can look at the recording. It's either I’m not able to find that feature or it’s not there. As far as a sense of security, I am a bit skeptical. I’m not sure whether this alarm and these guys react quickly. There have been some trouble signals and I was expecting that with my other recording system at home, I would immediately receive a call. It is an automated system and all is there. It just calls in, and it looks like there is no person behind it making a sensible decision. The real proof of security comes with a quick response, and it’s not up to the mark.
Another problem is that when there are some trouble signals and it's automated, the response that comes is that the battery is probably low, and there is no proactive action from Link’s side. I was able to change the battery in one sensor, but I’m not able to do it yet with the other sensors. I don’t really know how to open it and how to change, choose or order the battery. Link should be more proactive from a security point of view. One camera is not working on the phone, and they have tried to do that. But after that, it’s not working and nothing is done. Overall though, the system is okay.

Then, we had the option of keeping the contract and since we wanted a security system and the fact that it was already set up inside the house, we decided to keep them. The people that we just bought this home four months ago already had Link Interactive, and I haven’t had any problems with them. The system is nice. However, we didn’t know how it worked and then I had a little problem because the battery was low and it took them a while to send me a battery, but they did. Everything was fine. Then, a couple of days ago, we were just testing it out and they talked right through the box which we didn’t know they could do that. We only have it on our doors and our garage.

I had a previous home security system which wasn't very good. Also, I needed some specific water sensors and things for a sump pump that a lot of other companies did not provide but Link Interactive had. Link was recommended as well by Angie's List and I've had pretty good luck with vendors from that website. Plus, Link had a set package that was on sale through Angie's List and I added a few things to that for my specific needs, so things worked out pretty well when I went with them. They even gave me a whole bunch more than what another place offered for the same amount of money. In fact, I got about three times the number of sensors and window sensors for the same price.
Aside from that, once I talked to Link on the phone, they seemed like they had their stuff together and the reps I talked to were really good. They worked up an estimate for me on what I needed to get and they programmed everything. Then they sent out all of the equipment and sensors just like they were supposed to and I only had to put them in myself. But the tough part was testing the sensors. For the windows, it was easy as I just had to open a window. But the testing for the ones for the smoke, heat, and freezing was a hassle to do. I had to do it though and I was essentially pulling out a match or a candle trying to get the smoke in there for the smoke sensor to set off. Then, I put the sensor in a refrigerator to make it cold and put it in water and other things. I also used the hairdryer for one of the sensors. In the end, testing of those sensors wasn’t that bad. It wasn't rocket science.
Other than that, everything about the system worked exactly as it was supposed to and since installing it, I'm immediately getting notified if there's a problem with a sensor or if somebody came in and didn't reset the system. The smartphone features have worked well, too. All in all, I have been satisfied with Link Interactive. When they said something would be delivered, it was there. They've been a good company to work with and I have recommended them to a couple of neighbors who are getting ready to replace their systems.

A friend of mine has been using Link Interactive for many years and referred it to me. I had ADT before and Link is way better. It's easy to upgrade, easy to manage and whenever we need help through a customer service call, they answer right away. Not like ADT where I hold for one hour or more. So far, I have called Link’s customer for service about five times and they're educated on their stuff and very friendly. I called to set up the passwords in the beginning as well as set up the sensors, and it was easy to handle. I did the installation myself with the help of my friend who referred the system and it was very easy to do. This is new generation stuff and is pretty secure the way I want it, and I'm satisfied with that. I have a Link system on my three businesses separately and for our dream home which is coming soon, I’m going to install Link on that too.

I just wanted to give thanks to Stephen ** with Link Interactive. He was a pleasure to work with and made sure that I was getting exactly what I wanted. This is my 3rd alarm company to go to. The first I was with for 7 years and they didn't treat me well, their products were old and they only cared to get new customers. I can be a handful when it comes to contract agreements and new service. Stephen had an answer for all my questions, he was patient, courteous, professional, and committed to making sure I had the best experience possible and along the way gave me the level of comfort needed to commit to them for my home security. I look forward to being a customer of a company that has great team members. Thanks again!

Link Interactive was a referral from a friend who had used it before. The customer service reps have all been amazing. They were friendly and most importantly, they're knowledgeable. They know what they're doing and how to help because it's a self-install and I needed a lot of help. Installation went fine. It's really weird though because everybody has a different learning style. I would just talk to someone, get as far as I could get and then I wouldn't call him back until some next issue came up. And then I'd call back and get someone different and they would pick up where we left off and help me with that part. They all sounded super young but they were really good.
Link's features are great. There's a bunch of different people who asked us because we have keyless door entry. It's a house that we don't stay in all the time and so a lot of times, we just let someone else stay there. We have friends that are having a wedding stay because we gave them access for the weekend. So, all of that has been really helpful. I also had a contractor there and I could just set a code for him. If he needed to leave and go get more parts and come back, he could. I can set the time period that the code is good for. I can do it remotely too. I can manage everything from the app online.
There's a lot of things you can do from your phone. To actually add a security passcode and set up all the features, there might be a way on the app, but I haven't been able to because there's one part of it that I couldn't set the code on to the lock from the phone. I had to do it from either an iPad or computer. It didn't work on the phone. I couldn't believe I was spending this much money on the security alarm because everybody advertises free equipment but it's definitely worth what I spend.

I had the sales call from the salesman of Link Interactive and he was fine. He was a young kid. He knew enough, and we got the job done. And then I got a call maybe 10 days ago or so, from their office, wanting to know why we had never armed the system. I told them it's because we’re at the house most of the time, and we’ll arm it when we leave town. The installation was not what I expected. The first round of installation was not successful. One of the doors sets off at us but eventually, we remedied that. It was because the door was too far away from the base of the system. I noticed, however, the advertisement on television now, which seem to imply that I could have the same service that I get from Link, with the same features, and it would be about half the price of my monthly fee for a monitor and alarm -- and not for Link, but for a competitor. But overall, the customer service reps have been great.

I wanted to be safe. I decided to purchase a home security system and I had ADT. But their system didn’t work and didn’t communicate with the phones. I also had a hard time communicating through to their call center just to activate it and it was pricey. My experience with Link Interactive's reps, on the other hand, was pain-free and straightforward. There was no fuss, no muss, and they were very knowledgeable and helpful. Installing the system was super easy, too. It was plug-and-play and the equipment had instructions on how to reach them if for some reason I wanted to communicate how to repair it. But everything was already paired and set up. All I had to do was set the sensors where I wanted them and turn the system on.
It would have been nice though to have a feature where if I leave and forget to set the system on, I can set it. But that's not a deal-killer. The system that I got has nice and good features. With the smartphone, I can arm or disarm the alarm. And if I leave and don’t set it, it'll notify me. Then once I pull in the driveway, it automatically disarms it. The system is also very easy to use and it makes me feel more secure. With ADT, there were times that I went out of town and I was a little nervous because the system wasn’t working or I couldn’t communicate from my phone to see if it was set. Other than that, Link's system has a high cost-benefit ratio and is very competitive compared to a lot of the other systems.

I had previous experience with ADT and they are still a little bit better than Link. They have better customer service. They have quicker response if you have any questions or issues. At Link, they told me one thing but then my experience was something else. They initially said that they would get me a professional installer. But the people they sent me were awful. They wanted to charge me a ridiculous amount of money to install the system. It was around 700 bucks and that was just stupid. It was crazy and I ended up installing it myself.
That was the one thing that was very disappointing to me because when ADT said they would schedule the installation and send somebody, they did. And the installation ended around $300. Link's system is good but relative to the cost, the quality of service is below average. Link Interactive is not as good and as professional as ADT is, being a larger company. From that perspective, I'm not quite impressed with Link Interactive. They shouldn't make a promise if they can't deliver.

I used to have a different security system. When I was moving into a new building, they couldn’t install it, so I went looking for a reasonably priced alternative. I looked at about five different companies, including ADT and all the big-name ones, but I found Link Interactive and it seemed to fit my needs. The cost was in the budget and the self-installation was also key because I didn’t have to worry about people coming in to do the install. The interaction I had with their customer service reps was also very good from the moment I called to inquire about the system. Their salesperson was very knowledgeable about what I needed or listened to what I needed, putting together the system, and mailing it out. I called up their customer service for any question I've had and they were always there and willing to help me. They had a very nice support staff.
The installation was simple. They coded the security and my passcodes before I even got the system. I just needed a screwdriver, sticky things, and simple common sense. One feature that made it very easy was not having to have the Wi-Fi that it's connected to. I didn’t have to have my internet installed at that time because I just moved into my apartment, so it was very nice. I also don’t have to worry if the power goes out or about my Wi-Fi. The customer support has been there for any question or problems that I've had or things that I didn’t remember. When I was getting ready to activate the system, there was a whole list of stuff that I was supposed to do that I've forgotten and I called them. They worked me through everything and it was a breeze. Other than that, the equipment is very good and easy to use. It's very cost-efficient and effective, too.

Somebody got broken into a couple of blocks down the road in the area we just moved into. I’m a truck driver so I’m only home 34 hours every two weeks. When I was in Florida, I had a security system, Xfinity, that I was told would work with all systems. But it only works with a particular internet provider. When you get your security system, you get a little tablet thing that controls everything and that was taken back. The cameras were all hooked up to that particular thing and couldn’t hook up to anything else, so all the door sensors and cameras I already had were useless. We had to get a new system.
I talked to a couple of different providers and Link was the friendliest. Any time I called in, they were willing to help. If they couldn't, they'd get somebody who could help. I got all the door sensors and stuff. They are pretty simple. My daughter hooked everything up because we were on the road. The sensors, you can put anywhere. There's also the motion sensor which you can position anywhere in your home for any reason. But I haven’t gotten to my cameras yet. I probably could have done that this time around, but I’m not going to. We have two dummy cameras outside my house. But I know that just by the specs of the Link cameras, they are a better quality and not as expensive as my last security system. I would have paid for it all at once, but I did payment plans.
The Link app is also able to arm and unarm the system. I love that. That means I don’t have to remember any codes. It’s linked to my phone. The tablet thing is really easy to use. If I don’t understand it, I just call Link and they pretty much break it down for me where like a kindergartener could understand. In using the app, you flip over and the app pops up. You have home, away from home, sleep mode and even an alarm clock. The app also tells me the weather. Once I hook up my cameras, it’ll show me images on my app real time.
I like the fact too that my alarm system will deactivate when I get close enough to the house. But I noticed something which I don't like. A lot of the times that I leave, I activate the alarm system. The road we live on kinda circles back close to the house. It registers my phone, it knows the phone is close, and it deactivates my alarm system. I think my house is locked up but it’s not. Other than that, I don’t have a problem with the system because usually my daughter checks after she knows we have left the house and have gone back on the road. She reactivates the alarm system for me. She used to be on the system because she was here for a couple of months. I pretty much have two security systems. I have my daughter who's constantly making sure that I don’t mess up.

Link is not outrageously priced and pretty much on par with everyone else in New York, but it could be better considering it is competitive. I have been a member with them for a year and I have not had any issues.

I decided to increase the security in my house. I looked at Link online and it looked like it was a simple enough process. Their website was pretty inviting too. But we had a few glitches during the installation. In fact, I have one motion detector that I still can’t get to work. Link could be a pretty good system but the equipment is not good.
I have one of those doorbell cameras and every once in a while, it senses something. It just records as if there was an event. If it’s at night, you can see the first five seconds. It’s bright enough to see what’s going on and you can tell it's working. But all of a sudden, it just gets very dark. You can still see but if anybody was more than four feet from the doorbell, you won’t be able to see them anymore. I would think it was just set wrong. However, it starts out where you can see it then the picture goes dim. I’d like for the camera to just work. It really hasn’t worked right since I got it. The visibility is not bad during the day but it’s very difficult to make out who the person is. If it’s at night, it’s impossible to see the person well. The camera is useless at night.
Another thing is Link doesn’t have enough storage. I can only store the last 1,000 images. The problem is that with one of the cameras that I have, every flake sets off an image when it snows. I can have a video every minute. If I can only save 1,000 images, then I can use that up in a big snowstorm. There may be some adjustments. Maybe I can reduce the sensitivity on that camera so that snowflakes don’t set it off. However, by doing that, I lose sensitivity in terms of out in my yard because a snowflake that passed right in front of the camera.
I’m not 100% satisfied with Link's service, but it’s not bad. I use their app but one thing I don’t understand is why on the desktop, I can’t just click on the doorbell camera by itself but I can do that on the mobile app or vice versa. Also, the subscription service cost isn't too bad, but the equipment is kinda garbage so any price is too high. I like Link's service and the way it's set up. I would recommend Link if I could, but I the equipment sucks. They should get some better equipment.

My brother is an employee of Alarm.com and Alarm has a lot of independent retailers they work with but I wanted to go with someone who was more DIY-friendly. I didn’t need a technician to help, so Link Interactive fit the bill. The interactions I had with their reps have been very positive and I felt like I mattered. Everyone has been super-friendly and very helpful. Also, all the instructions for the installation were laid out very clearly and I knew that their guys were a phone call away. The Link system can do everything I want and features keep getting added. It’s a good value and I got a little bonus with the "friends and family" through my brother. I also like that I can get different components and throw it on the system. I don’t feel pressured to buy from Link directly but if I do, these guys don’t mark anything up.

I had a security system for about 15 years but they were pretty pricey to switch over to my other house, so I wasn’t that happy with it. Link is better because I don't have to have a lot of money up front. I can pay it out as I go. The monitoring is a little less comparable to my old system, though. Their monitoring is a little bit different too. They send me texts and they can speak over the system. With my other one, they just told me immediately. When I have accidentally set off the system a couple of times, Link's response was not as prompt as my other system. But it was all right.
Otherwise, Link is pretty ideal. Their customer service and sales seem fine. The guy that got us all connected a year ago was really nice. He told me about a lot of extra stuff they offered that I could add on as I go along. And the system was an install-yourself and it was fairly easy to understand and install. I got Link's basic package and I got a few things more than I had with my other system. The system features have been good and they're of higher quality. I also like to keep adding stuff a lot better than I did on my other system. Their smartphone feature is pretty cool too. It has a lot of upgraded stuff.

Link Interactive is better compared to the many previous providers I had used. The representatives were excellent. For the installation, I pretty much do that for a living so it was easy. I wanted some lower end price options and a more basic system. The reviews online made it seem like Link Interactive would be the better fit for me. They got back to me pretty quickly. The rep whom I originally talked to was great. He wasn’t pushy or tried to make me scared. Also, I did the installation myself and the people who helped me to install the system on the phone were helpful. That time, there were a few issues with the previously installed system in my house but they figured it all out. Link Interactive's cost is fair, but even though it’s pretty cheap, I wish it could be a little cheaper. Other than that, the equipment seems to work and it is of good quality. The functionality of the system is great and it's easy to use. I would recommend Link Interactive to people. Having their system installed, I feel that if someone tries to get into the house, we would know.

My house got broken into and I looked into Link Interactive's initial offer versus other people. In the beginning they were really good and responsive. But once you decided to purchase and sign on the contract with them, they started dropping the ball on things afterwards. They failed to follow through with a lot of things that I wanted to do. I bought a siren because I wanted to have a big alarm system, but it wasn’t really that good, so I had to return it. They were gonna send me a label for me to return it, but they never did. The garage sensor was defective and they sent me another one. They were supposed to send me a box for me to return the other one but they never did.
I bought some extra stuff and there was a problem with my credit card. Since I never received the stuff, I just said I didn't wanna buy any more stuff. However, they still charged me for the stuff that I never got. I called and they said everything was already taken care of, but a week later I had gotten an invoice saying that I’m past due. I called and they said that they were gonna take care of it. Then they sent me an email saying that it was already taken care of.
I have the sensors and they work fine. Unfortunately, the glass break sensors, which I need, are super expensive and I couldn’t get them. If somebody breaks through the glass, the door doesn’t go off, because it was not actually opened. I don't even know if I’m being monitored. When you call technical support, the lady is just reading and says hold on. And you hold and wait, and wait. Although I’m not completely dissatisfied, I don’t think I will recommend Link Interactive.

We got a Link Interactive system as a preventive measure. There's not a whole lot of people home during the day and we travel, so we have the system to monitor and make sure something’s alright. We put it up ourselves and although there were a few blinks, our experience was good overall. The system seems as good as one where people come in and install everything. It has good value, but there’s always that gap between when things are happening, and when the camera uploads and then downloads. Ideally, the cameras should be in real-time and they would actually show you what’s going on in real-time, but that’s almost impossible to find.

When Ian and I moved in together, I thought it'd be smart to purchase a home security system. I compared Link Interactive with Frontpoint and Vivint, and not only was the customer service better but the equipment was better as well. The guy from Link who helped me was super funny and extremely friendly. The installation was time-consuming but easy. It took me an hour and a half to do so. Their panel is easy to use. I also have smoke detectors but I haven't set it up yet. I've been having a problem with the communication between the panel, the app and then the online because there was a mix-up sometime between the panel getting set up and the online setup. They still have the number under Ian and every time I put my password in, it's showing as Ian, and he gets the notification on his phone. When he puts his password in, it comes up as me, and I get a notification on my phone. But we don’t get criss-cross.
I wanted a doorbell or something where they have the camera to be included in our home security. It'd be cool if Link Interactive did that where if someone would ring the doorbell, I'd be able to look at our panel or phone to see who is at the front door. I use their app more than the actual putting the code in. I have these push notifications and Ian has his texts. I like how we can just customize. I have different things where it's like, “It's nighttime”, then I press a button, and automatically, it's like arm stay, no enter delay, warning, and sounds. These are super cool to use.
There had been two real problems where I had an alarm event happened because one of the sensors was acting up. Luckily, Ian was home to turn it off before the cops showed up. One of the window sensors was messed up. The window sensor in the bedroom is not activated because it's too far away from the panel. Other than that, the only recommendation I would have is the sticker on the back would be more easily removable and come with two replacements because once we moved them, we can only duct tape them back on or have to put a screw in the window.
The biggest thing is it gives me a pre-warning system. I'm a firearms instructor on the side, so I'm not too worried. Ian tells me the alarm is extremely loud so if someone comes in, I already know and ready for whatever happens. I can skip the step of calling the police because I know they're on their way. All I have to do is hunker down the bedroom. It's a deterrent and maybe the alarm will scare them away. Overall, I felt 95% satisfied with Link Interactive and I would recommend them to friends.

I had ADT before and I sold my home and moved to a new home. I was not happy with ADT because of the prices and lack of equipment, so I investigated and chose Link Interactive. They use Alarm.com, which ADT doesn’t, so I was favoring for that. The prices were also decent and weren't terribly high. I already had my own equipment that was covered by Link, so I went with them. The people at Link are very nice to you when they want you to buy a product, but once you become a customer, they really don’t care about you as far as sales and Link administrative stuff. They would communicate timely, but once I got Link, there were no more promotions and they wouldn't respond to me.
Link is better as far as the equipment and the people of monitoring. They are always professional and they are always doing what they're supposed to do. Monitoring has always been good throughout and they have two-way communication, but the sales portion has not been good. As a current customer, I would call to buy new stuff, and I have bought a few new items since I had the contract. I'm out of contract now, but they left a bitter taste where I'm not valued as a customer. With ADT or LifeShield, you are the first person they would try to attack to sell something new by giving a promotion. However, Link doesn’t do that. Once they get your sale, you are on your own. I am not valued anymore even though I'm a current revenue because I am paying my bill every month. They tend to cater to new customers.
They should improve on their communication and do a more active pursuit of current customers. I have a few security things, extra cameras, garage door sensors, thermostat, and all the other things, that I've added since I've been with them. If they were to give promotions and say, “Hey, buy this one as a current customer and save this, or buy one, get one free,” or whatever promotion it is and if it's a deal, I'll get it. If it's not a deal and I can't afford it, I won't get it.
Also, if they have a policy, it needs to be standard throughout everybody I speak to. I bought four security cameras and they were separate from another camera that I had on initial setup. I called one person and told him I could get the cameras cheaper in eBay. The person said no and that if I get it from them, I will be covered on the warranty. I said, “If the camera breaks, I'll just send it in and you'll replace it?” He said, “Yes. As long as you buy it from us, you're covered under the warranty lifetime.” I would never have to buy those cameras again. If it's old or it gets damaged, they will replace it, and it's a win-win for both us.
I called in to ask about a sensor and the person said that I only have one year. which leaves me uncomfortable because if something goes wrong with all four cameras, I have to buy a brand new camera for $200 each from Link, and they are the highest-priced for the cameras. But I figured the higher price was beneficial if it included some form of warranty for later on, so I paid the highest price. If the person had told me that when I spent $800 on four cameras, I wouldn’t have gotten it because I could have spent $400 on four cameras on Amazon, the same cameras they are selling for $200, and still have the same results and pay for an extended warranty through Amazon. I get a warranty on everything I buy and if I'm gonna spend more than $200 and something happens, I'm covered and I'm gonna own my money. Link dropped the ball by telling me what I wanted to hear just to get the sale.
The biggest selling point with Link is the monitoring people, not their customer service nor the sales. I got the stuff and I installed what I could and it was very easy because it was self-explanatory. However, there were things I couldn’t do because I was not familiar with the system. The ease of setup is great. The reps guided me over the phone and they were amazing. Most features in the system work and most features they offer are very good. I'm a smart-home person, so everything is incorporated via Alexa and most features are compatible. However, their app is not fluent and it's not user-friendly. But it's a process. I use the app almost for everything - open garage doors, thermostat, and turn on the lights.
The cost of Link is around $5 higher than everybody else. If I'm happy with the system, I don’t mind paying. However, I'm not happy with Link anymore. As a company competing with other major players, they have to separate themselves from ADT and the only way to do that is customer service because other competitors have similar equipment and similar services. I'm out of contract and I can leave any time I want. The equipment is mine. I can leave and take it. But what makes me want to stay or what makes me not to go with somebody else? It has to be their customer service, which Link is lacking. If somebody comes on with a good deal and I don’t have to pay anything, and it's a few dollars cheaper, maybe I will leave. I don’t trust Link.

I’ve had rental houses for 15 years and I have been using security systems for a very long time. I’ve probably used all of the bigger brands out there like ADT, Brinks, NCA, and Xfinity. Link Interactive has been around for a really long time, but I haven’t had the chance to try them. I called their customer service and had to set up a few systems. The first time I called which was also kind of a time-crunch, they were nice and they all stayed calm. That makes a big difference when you’re trying to set up a security system. It was really important that I had those systems set up for my renters. The Link reps used good people skills and they treated me like somebody that they cared about.
They walked me through the installation process and it felt like they were familiar with the system and they knew what should be in the box. One time, we were looking through the box and I couldn’t find something. There was a piece that goes on the back of the monitor like a little mainboard. They did a really good job. I found the installation really easy, although I ended up using Command Strips instead of drilling through the plastic parts to put in the motion detectors. They wanted me to put a screw hole through the plastic in the back.
I have four houses and I know each house really well. We did custom security plans for each house since some plans have more floors than the other. All of the houses there, they are very similar as they all have a garage that you drive into, but they all have different floor plan layouts. I kinda knew what I was looking for because I’ve always tried to have very secure homes. I’ve used lots of equipment, whether it was with the other security companies. And Link is the top, at least for now. Everything changes and you have to change with everything because usually, there’s something that can be improved. Some of the security features are really updated too. Link has the app and it’s a lot more proficient. The app is good and user-friendly which is really important because I’m trying to have renters who have a variety of computer skills to do it too, not just me.
The cost for Link was really wonderful too. This was the lowest cost in systems that I’ve had in my 15 years of putting them in my houses. That’s really good savings for somebody out there and for me, in particular. I was very impressed by that. It’s made up in the contract, but that is a really good thing. But I had to send one of my Link systems back because my renter was in love with the routine of what she is doing now. Sometimes people don’t wanna try something new, but if they do and they’re okay with a commitment of a two or three-year contract, they will like it. They’ll actually buy the system and they’ll want to have it in their house.
With Link, if customers have any questions or they need to send the system back in the first three days, that has been made really easy. In my case, Link sent me a form to sign and I sent all the things back. It was really nice. As for the other systems, I'm gonna keep them at my other rental houses. My renters are enjoying using them for locking doors. It makes them feel safe and makes me feel good. Link's system could really help people. The cost of having some break-in in your house and also just the feeling you have if you don’t have anything in place and then afterward, you’re like, “I should have done this,” Link is definitely a system that's well worth it. I’m happy to tell my family or friends about it.

A rental property that we bought was in a rough area and while we were renovating, there was some robbery going on. We got impacted two times and then I decided to add an alarm system, which I also had in my own house. The alarm system was coming from alarm.com but I wanted something smarter to be installed. So I contacted alarm.com and the bunch of retailers that they gave. I ended up with Link Interactive because they were less expensive.
Link Interactive's customer service was good and fast. As soon as I made a request, they immediately sent me a text message. On the very same day, we closed the deal. So as far as sales were concerned, they were good. On the customer support side, some of the instructions they sent for the do-it-yourself installation were not very clear. Still, when I called, they kinda walked me through the setup. Although I figured out the instructions after a couple of weeks, there’s a little room for improvement in terms of making the instruction guidelines clearer. We were getting false alarms but overall, the reps were very responsive. Once you get them on the call, they're very knowledgeable and helpful. Whoever is on the phone, they know exactly what kind of issues you’re running into, and they can guide you through settings.
I got the four sensors plus the motion from Link Interactive. Everything was pretty much installed and paired, so it was ready to go. Installation was easy as all I needed to do was to put some sticker and it was all set up. Then I just attached it to the door. One of the neat things about the system is that they've got this interactive feature where, in case of emergency, they actually talk through the panel with you, just so they can actually listen to what’s going on in the house. Also, it's nice that they can also determine if there is an emergency or it's only a false alarm.
The additional feature though is really the mobile app that you can arm. That’s really neat. The only drawback of the system compared to the old traditional ones is that when you’re trying to set the alarm to "away", you need to make sure all the doors are closed before you click the arm. If the door that you’re trying to get out from is open, the system is not smart enough to realize that. That door will be bypassed and that is pretty bad. Other than that, you can always arm the system from your phone, which is really nice.
The other disadvantage is that the system comes with a receiver and sender. Everything should be attached to the door and it has to be within a certain distance. Sometimes, the way your door is set up may not allow for a nice installation, so there are some limitations there. The systems get confused. All of a sudden, it sends some signal today that something is going on when there's actually none.
All the settings are very conservative, and the system can easily sense if somebody is tampering with it. At the same time, however, it can put the settings such that they will confirm with you through the phone or message before it will send the officers out. So, you can kinda filter some of those false alarms, but not too much because sometimes it could be some problems and you may wanna need assistance. Good thing Link Interactive also has a support system during the weekend, so in case there is a false alarm, they can fix it for you. It’s almost like 24/7 help for emergency situations. Overall, I am very satisfied with Link Interactive. I really like the installation. I could ask somebody to come and install the security system who will ask me for thousands of dollars, but Link Interactive’s system is something I could do myself. I strongly recommend Link Interactive.

Also, we were trying to switch the system so that I don’t see all of her stuff and she doesn’t have to see all of mine. The rep I spoke to at Link was nice and took care of everything we needed. He also didn't rush us off the phone. In the end, I purchased two systems. They installed her system while my son installed mine, and it was easy. So far, we like the features offered by Link. I love the fact that I can set reminders. If the system isn’t set at a certain time, I get reminders on my phone.

We got out of our contract with our previous home security provider and I was looking for something similar. Link Interactive was reasonably priced and had some good reviews on customer service and one reason I left the previous provider is that the customer service was pretty horrible, to say the least. There were some challenges I faced with the do-it-yourself installation, mainly when it came to the doorbell camera and the panel. But Link Interactive has been helpful as far as troubleshooting over the phone and overall, everything was well.
I triggered the alarm the other night intentionally to kind of test it out and see how long it would take to get a response. They contacted me over the speaker and the response time was fair. I apologized to the guy for doing that, but I felt like I wanted to get a test-run. Also, once you get down and learn what all they do, the features are good quality. The thermostat seems kinda flimsy compared to anything I’ve dealt with in the past though, mainly where you put the wires in. I’m used to dealing with a set screw and these have little plastic tabs, which are pretty fragile. I, unfortunately, kinda pinched one off, although it still works fine. So, my only complaint about the equipment would probably be the mounting bracket/base of the thermostat. Other than that, the cost is fair. I got about $15 or $18 cheaper a month than what I was paying, for the same kind of service.

The home we moved into, which we're renting currently, was already wired up for both Link Interactive and ADT. Having not heard of Link in the past, we went to ADT first, but the service was absolutely terrible. So, I decided to call Link and see what they were offering, and I can't say enough good things about the company. Their customer service is A-plus. Every single time I've called, and it's been about half a dozen times between setting things up and getting things organized, I'm on the phone with a real person in literally under two minutes. The service works great. The alarm hasn’t gone off, so I haven't had the chance to test the call center stuff, which I hope I never have to, but everything works as it is supposed to. Their service has also been phenomenal. Every time they’ve had to walk me through setting something up, it has been done with a smile. It's one of the best companies I've ever talked to as far as customer service.
They offer full automation in their package. I can control my garage door from my phone and I can literally control all my appliances if I wanted to. When you log in to the system from your phone, it happens quickly, whereas, with ADT, I would wait around three minutes to be able to log in, which is beyond inconvenient. Back in the day, that was fast but not by today’s standards. Link offers a lot. You get a lot for your money and there is always a real person looking out for you, so it is a great company.
The quality of the security equipment has been great so far. The sensors work and the alarm system arms and disarms when it is supposed to. They had to deal on automating the garage, so it was an after-market sort of situation and I took advantage of it. Anytime I've had to call for troubleshooting, they were always right there and they fixed the problem right away. I get more for less money than I did with ADT. We live in a big neighborhood, so having Link Interactive is a deterrent and an extra added level of safety. It's nice to be able to have something where I know that it works. I highly recommend it to anyone who's looking to get a security system and I already recommended them to two family members.

Having a home security system gives you peace of mind. When you are away, you know you have sensors and things that are there to trigger to let you know if something bad is happening. We wanted to secure the home and to have a better vision into what's happening at home, so we decided to purchase one. Link Interactive had a good price point and I liked what they were selling. The sensors, devices, and components were not attached to a propriety. If I wanted to, I could move to another system, while other people that are providing the service would not allow you to do that, so you are locked in to their proprietary system. Others would offer a lower upfront fee, but you are stuck with them forever. I didn’t like the fact that I would be stuck with the other providers, but Link Interactive allowed me to be free of that and in case I didn’t like Link, I could move to another provider and still use my sensors.
The sales rep was standard. He was trying to sell a product and plead his case. He seemed to not understand certain aspects of the technology and he almost put himself on the line. He was rapping something that he didn't understand and not really giving the full truth. I was testing him to see what he would say and he was pushing some jargon or lingo, “Oh, well, we do encryption on the ply.” I asked what that meant and he just said something. I asked him to explain it, but he couldn’t fully explain it. During the installation of the system, I got all the stuff and put it together. I didn't look at the instructions too much. I just knew what to do with it and I knew that the panel needed to be linked. I needed certain information and it was very easy. There was a packet that came in that told the passcodes and gave the basic rundown. I just followed that and it was perfect.
The features are good and the system offers what you would expect. There are both cell and wireless communication. There is a backup battery in it and I really like the touch screen panel and the fact that there is a motion detector in there. It is cool. That provided me one last motion detector I had to purchase. There is also a glass break detector in the panel, so there was a lot of bang for the buck in the system. I use the Link Interactive smartphone features and I have it built into Alexa, Echo Spot, and Echo Show. From the phone, I can tell Siri or Alexa to arm the system. There's an added benefit that I can link it with Alexa and I can do everything with my voice.
The cost is good and I'm getting a quality product although there is nothing special about it. The panel is nice because it is a touchscreen and the sensors operate at the distances that are needed. They communicate well but when I link up my smartphone to the panel, it is supposed to auto-disarm when it knows that I'm near, but sometimes, that doesn’t work correctly which is one little quirk in the system.
Since having Link Interactive, I feel like I have more vision and idea of what's happening at the house. I travel a lot, so I'm always worried about my home and what's happening. It is good being able to have vision into your home and knowing that there are sensors 24/7 working to let you know if someone has triggered some sensor in your house. If a friend is interested in a security system, I would explain to him my current set-up, what I have and what my experience is, although there are other options. I like what I have but maybe he is looking for something different.

I did a quick Google search for home security systems and Link Interactive consistently showed up. It's like one of the top three best in efficiency in customer service, but also it was always top with the price. I was looking at cost efficiency and Link was the most affordable one on the list that I found. I filled out online to ask for information and within three minutes, I had somebody from Link call me, and I bought the system right then and there. It all happened within an hour. The sales rep was really good and well-informed. The installation process was pretty simple and I did it within 15 minutes. My crown molding was a little bit different but installing the system was pretty easy.
The system has been really good so far. I got an additional window sensor because I have more windows than what was in the basic package. I've used everything pretty regularly. The smartphone features are super convenient. The Bluetooth is really nice because it just turns off as soon as I go and pull into my garage. I travel a lot for work, and my dog and my girlfriend are home when I'm gone. The entire last week and a half that I was traveling for work this fall, my girlfriend was super happy, and it was nice for me because I knew that she was safe. So, it's been really good. I really appreciate the service, and I can't complain about the price.

We were living in an apartment but we got an actual house and my husband works the night shift so, I’m home by myself at night. I did a little research and Link Interactive was the most banging for your buck as far as what they provided and the monitoring system. I almost went with ADT but they had a very aggressive sales practice and I didn’t appreciate that. Link had good customer service. The gentleman I spoke to was great and explained things. He knew we were apprehensive about doing it. Link was not as advertised as CPI or ADT or other services so I asked if we were going for the system and he gave us a 60-day money-back guarantee if we didn’t like them.
The installation went well and we were able to do everything by the instructions. We initially thought that one of our sensors was gonna go on the door and we decided to put it on the window, so we had to get the delay second off of it. The features were everything I expected and the display was very nice. My husband loves it because it tells you the weather. So, he can tell the temperature before he goes outside. We added the doorbell camera, which we haven't hooked up yet but we’ll get it fixed eventually. I realized you had to have a hardwired doorbell, but I didn’t realize our doorbell wasn’t hardwired until we got up there to take it down.
I love the smartphone features because when I pull into the garage, since my phone is linked to the security system, it automatically disarms it. So, if I've got my hands full of grocery or the dog, it disarms it, so I don’t have to worry about it going off when I walk in. The cost was great and it was exactly how much I would expect to pay for what I've got. It was less than what the other agencies are charging for the same exact service. I feel better at night being at home by myself and now, I'm alerted too if a door opens. I highly recommend the system and the coverage that it has.

I have always had a home security system. I appreciated the Alarm.com product and Link Interactive offered that. They were friendlier and available but also seemed to have a downhome kid of feeling. I ordered extra things and I also had some that worked with the alarm that I have already installed. However, I wasn’t aware of how complex a system could be to install and they should have the availability for a tech to come and install for somebody who was not good at understanding. I already had an Alarm.com product, so I was able to understand a little bit more, but when it came down to some specific needs that I wanted, such as not having the system sitting on a table, actually be wired in and put into the wall, I had to go and find myself a contractor on my own that would be able to install.
Link is fabulous and they do a good job of supporting the needs of the consumer and it is very easy to use. They were very helpful and very patient with me. They were also available but they seemed to communicate more by text instead of a mobile phone call. For instance, if an alarm tripped, it was more of a feature of using your text to respond or using your email to respond instead of, “Hey, we got a call and this is what happened.” Some people either don’t have the smartphone feature on their phone or they're not up with it. I know my mom would have a problem with it so, I couldn’t recommend it to my mom. However, I would recommend the system to anybody else that was looking to have one. the cost was quite fair and comparable with the products supporting that payment.

I originally purchased Link Interactive and then everything got sent back because I was having issues with the service. The communication was horrible. When they sent everything out, they messed the order. They didn’t send the correct order out, of what it was supposed to be. The person I was dealing with was like, “Okay, I’ll give you a call back tomorrow at this time,” or when we were negotiating she said, “Yeah, I’ll call you back.” But I didn’t hear anything back for two days. Nobody has contacted me. I tried using this stuff and hooked it up. The alarm kept going off like it was just detecting like we were being burglarized, and we weren’t. When I talked to them on the phone, they said something about an issue with the panel. At that point, I just sent it back, and ended up going with ADT.

Link Interactive's program offered the same type of coverage as the other companies were offering but for less money. So, I went with them. But the set-up was not nearly as easy as it should be and the directions included were not great. They had too many versions of it. There was a quick version, a longer version that you can read in-depth, and a few indications where you could go to a website and see a video of how it was done. But the videos weren’t there or in some cases, they were impossible to find. I had to call customer service and ask them where were the videos. They sent me links but they weren’t the exact videos that I was asking for. So it was a pain to set up but everybody I’ve spoken to on the phone had been really nice and seemed to be doing their best to help out.
I also had a couple of doors where the installation was very difficult and the solution that they provided was to put these foam pieces underneath it to make the magnet pieces line up. That was pretty unattractive and I wish that there was some equipment available for door jambs that are really far away from the physical door. They only had two little magnetic pieces where you put one on the door jamb and the other one on the door, and when the door shuts, they’re supposed to align to show that the door is closed. But because my door is recessed so deeply into the side of the house, the door jamb is many inches away from the surface of the door.
Other than that, I use the smartphone feature to turn the alarm on and off, and I check the history there. But it doesn’t exactly explain the difference of when the motion detector is on. So there are a few things that I find a little confusing about it, but for the most part, it’s okay. So far, I’m not even sure I really need the security system, but it's better to be safe inside.

Self-installation and OG network made me decide to get a home security system. I got one from Link Interactive and I've been using it for four years now. It is comparable with ADT except on technology and I’ve had more false alarms with them. The installation was easy but every time I call Link, it's a long process to get a hold of anyone. Once, I had some technical issue and they did not call back. I'm planning to shut down the service.

It's a plug and play system and I installed it myself. Then I called the reps at Link and they activated it for me. The system could have more options on the camera side. It would be great if they have more recording mode or a better camera. Still, Link Interactive has a good system to spend my money on. I would recommend them.

I’ve always had a security system on my house, but I also wanted to step-up to have some cameras because we were going out to the country and I wanted to be able to keep a check on the premises while we weren’t here. I did a research on the different companies and Link Interactive was rated highly among companies that do this. Link is very good but the problem is that we’re trying to install a new system on top of old equipment. As soon as we got one thing going, another sensor goes down, and I have a whole lot of sensors.
My sensors are four years old since I’ve been in this house and who knows when they were manufactured so trying to use old sensors with a new set of equipment is not a good idea. I didn’t wanna go through waiting everyday for a new sensor to breakdown. So I just wanted to start all over from scratch. We come to the point where in order to replace all of my old my equipment, it is gonna cost so much. So I should just get a whole new set that is done by a company who installs rather than a do-it-yourself. I had been willing to pay for somebody to install everything, so I might not have to go through all of this.
Link had very nice features. I use the app and I was able to remotely see what’s happening in the house. But I did discover that trying to use an indoor camera to see outside has a problem, and they were aware of that. So I should have ordered the right camera for the outside. Nevertheless, the equipment they supplied were good, and the support was good. Their reps have been very courteous and very helpful. They respond very quickly. They’re doing quite a great job of trying to help me get it going.

I was a bit concerned with going with a company where I'm doing a lot of it myself as I'm not very good at technology and it was daunting at first, but I received a lot more support than I ever expected and it wasn't that hard. They coached me through things and they were very patient. Their instructions were good and the online tutorials are really helpful, but they should beef up their tutorials. There are a lot of other similar systems on the internet that wasn't specifically Link and what I found online filled the gap. All in all, Link is better than the other company I was with. They weren't clear what I was tied into and I had no control over my own equipment, which I did not like. Link made it very clear that I was getting tied into the monthly payments and I like the flexibility. We feel more secure having the system in our home too.

My last provider was ADT and I didn’t have some of the services that Link Interactive provides such as the phone notification which I like. It gives us the ability to know and do a lot of control, and some sense of security. The interaction with the reps was good and the follow up was great. The salesperson let me know the different features and the different services. So, it was okay. A family member helped me out with the installation because they have the same system. The instructions weren’t 100% clear but if Link has a video to help you set up the system, that would be beneficial. Also, the labelling in regards to the parts that attached to the windows and the doors is relatively smaller in comparison to ADT. Still, I'm satisfied with Link Interactive. The cost is good and the security system is in line with the industry. It's a built up in front instead of towards the contract so, it’s not far in comparison to other providers.

It was a good and seamless process. They just had me submit my identification and they got the account transferred over to my name. All the batteries were replaced and we didn't have to make any changes to the system. We love the features. It's very intuitive, has a good app and has a good interface. We use that a lot. Everything's been functioning greatly. Link also has a good price point. We pay 30 bucks a month which is a good investment. We have the system for security reasons. I'm completely happy with Link. I had ADT before and the rates kept going up so I looked for something cheaper. A friend told me about Link Interactive and it was a good fit. The sales rep was awesome. I was trying to get the best deal and I went back and forth with him for two weeks. He even went to his manager and got me a sweeter deal of two months free which is more than I paid for the equipment. If I’d stayed with ADT, I would have paid for the equipment and service fees.
I installed the device myself and the instructions were fine. There were hundreds of videos on YouTube on what to do, how to do and where to do and they were very simple. I had an issue with one of my sensors which was replaced though. I called one night and had it within three days. When they sent me that, I called the number and was put on hold although I get it as nobody had customer service like they did 20 years ago. While I was on hold, I figured it out and the guy came on and asked how he could help. I told him that I got it, and then he ran the test, and it was all good.
The equipment is so much farther advanced with Link, unlike the ADT stuff which is just cryptic. I can also customize the hardware and what I like about it is I can just go online and order the equipment. When it comes, I can just add it. However, the software cannot be customized as the system is what it is as far as features. Also with Link, I can have an immediate conversation with somebody there through the panel. ADT was always, “We'll call you, and then if he doesn’t answer, we’ll call somebody else.” My son went in the house one time and missed the code and 10 minutes later, ADT called to tell us that somebody was in our house. I told the person that the people had cleaned me out.
I also use the smartphone features. It's awesome that the alarm turns off when I pull in the garage. Every time somebody goes in and out of my house, I get a notification and I love that on my phone. I was in Phoenix, Arizona one time and my wife was home alone and it made me feel comfortable to know that she was in the house, the door was locked, she set the alarm and she was going to bed. It's been an excellent experience overall. I’ve already recommended it three times and I'm fixing to buy Link for my daughter.

Their customer service walked me through everything. They gave me what I wanted and they didn't try to push me. It was a pretty simple process. The installation was DIY and it got done in about 20 minutes. The instructions were pretty straightforward. Link is affordable and everything is good about the system. The online features work exactly as advertised. I can arm and disarm the alarm anywhere in the world. I've had a pretty good experience with Link and I'd tell others that it's a company they'd wanna research for themselves.

Link was recommended by the security company that I was using. Their system had quality features but the features that were selected or provided were pretty much identified by myself and the local security representative who had no direct association with Link. Other than that, the Link reps were always responsive over the years. Whenever I had an issue, they were right on top of it, whether it was a technical issue or if it was an emergency situation.
But Link's rates were getting higher than what I really wanted to pay. Their rates for monitoring my system were substantially higher than rates that I can get with other comparable vendors. I recently terminated my service with Link and my the last interaction with them went relatively well with one exception. The young lady was supposed to terminate it on a particular date. Prior to her getting off of work that day, she did not, so the termination was delayed by two days.

I preferred Link's ala carte method where I could pick and choose exactly what I wanted instead of what the competitors were offering which were predetermined packages of the different types of equipment needed. The sales guy that I worked with was really helpful and he didn't push anything on me which I liked. I asked him the questions and I chose exactly what I needed. But Link fell short on the delivery. It took about three attempts just to get to my house. I had to finally get them to overnight the package because the delivery kept failing. I had to keep going back and forth with them multiple times. That was kind of a mess. But other than that, everything was great.
The packaging came with the instructions. They were intended to be easy but the booklets could use a couple more pictures or depictions. For the glass proof sensors, it was hard to understand exactly the requirement on how to install them because they have to specifically be adjacent to the wall of the windows or the glass that they are sensing. That was a little bit confusing to navigate through. But once I fully understood it, it was easy. The installation was all do-it-yourself and I was able to install the system wherever I wanted to exactly. It didn't take me long. I just had to call customer service to verify if the system was working.
Link is priced well amongst their competitors, if not lower. I am very happy with the cost. I like that the equipment is mine to keep afterward if I were to leave. They also said I could use it on a different provider if I were to move somewhere else. I'm using the Link app every day to turn my system on and off. All I cared about was being able to do that and that was another reason why I went with Link because it was simple. There were not too many gadgets that slowed it down. I get emails now advertising Link's new products and what they have coming out is pretty good stuff. With Link, there's an away and a stay function. I can turn it on while I'm still inside the house. It turns off the motion sensors automatically without me having to manually tell it to. I like that the most. I would refer friends to Link.

We just moved into our house and the system that was here before was too expensive to continue with. I researched online and found that Link Interactive was much cheaper and they seemed to be a good company. When I called Link, they seemed to have enough representatives that I’m not to be put on hold for any period of time. They explained everything and seemed knowledgeable about being able to convert the old system to their system.
Installing the system was fairly easy and I did all the rewiring myself. I took pictures of the old wiring and sent it to Link. They then sent me a detailed list of instructions on how to take those wires off and put it in their little box that goes in the same cabinet that the old system was in. It’s a small wireless device that is powered by the old system. The various devices in the house, like the door connection, when I open the door, registers and pretty much all of them were wired ones. There were a few wireless devices that worked also. They’re powered by the old system but the wireless system goes into the new one, so I didn’t have to replace a lot of stuff.
Link sent a new control panel and it was very easy to use. It has a touchscreen and it works. I also have the complete smartphone feature and I can either set the system from there or from the touch panel. I can add a camera too for another $5 a month to have that feature where I could view what’s going on. The Link Interactive system works well and it made me feel a little safer. If you’re a bit handy and you can do it yourself, you’ll save quite a bit of money each month. I would recommend them. They're basically half the cost of the old system.

We got mixed up a little bit and I don’t think they understood the situation that I have a daughter that I take care of. The checkbook has to be under my name ‘cause I control everything. I go through everything before it happens.
I told them that there was no way that I could give them a credit card ‘cause we only have one and it’s to both of us but I have it. They said that was all right. We got the security system and put it in. Everything was going great then they called and said that I was two months behind. They tried to bill me and it was refused. Joseph, the sales rep, and I discussed all this and before we did anything, I told him the situation that I am the controller as long as my daughter agrees. What Link had to do was send me a bill. Then we got some guy and he said that they’re paperless but I said that we’re not.
My daughter is custody of the 4th district court of Idaho, and I am responsible to those people to do everything right for her best interest. The guy named Brian didn’t quite understand the 4th whole district court and I could go to prison if I get all this wrong. I explained to him everything but still, he said that they're totally paperless. I told him that we got a big problem and that he better get a hold of Joe to straighten all this out and so we went back and forth. Brian got little sideways as far as what could happen, and I just had to tell him no. When I called and asked to speak to a customer service person, a lady came on and told me exactly what they could do and it was all fine. I told her to send me an email and I'll send them the check. That way, I have a record and that's what I need when I fill out a yearly report on my daughter for the court. We got it all straightened out and it worked.
During the installation, me and another guy couldn't get it right. I have a friend that’s electronically savvy so I just called him and he came over. He put the two little things together, put them on the window, and everything worked out fine. I like the system's features, the way that they were put on the windows, and the consul. My daughter's friend got one just like it and they said they were happy. I’m happy too and Link seems to work really well. The cost is also reasonable. The older ADT system that I had was a traditional hardwired system. I tried to use Frontpoint and I had some issues, so I went looking around. Link Interactive had the next most similar solution from what I was looking for and I got them. The Link system is nicer and much more flexible, so I was able to add an electronic lock and a camera. That would have been a bigger deal with the previous system because everything had to be done through a professional service guy. With Link, I was able to put it in myself and add these other items myself. If I needed any help, they would be able to guide me over the phone.
Since getting my system, I've liked Link's control panel in terms of its size and features and I'm using the latest state-of-the-art equipment. However, I plan on doing a little more on the home automation side. I am using just one light and the house is like a ranch style house, so it’s laid out a little wide. I anticipated that mesh networking to work a little better but I’ve been disappointed in that. I’ve even added a repeater and it doesn’t seem to be performing like I thought it would.
The cost of the system seems typical with that in the marketplace. I’m using all the features, so I got the expensive plan where I add the camera. However, I’m not using the camera as well as I should, so I need to figure out how to take advantage of some more of the advanced capabilities. It is working but it’s just manual monitoring. Also, I tested the alarm and I saw that it does the camera snapshot. But I haven’t really set it up to where it records on movement and I need to figure out how to do that. Sometimes it’s a little complicated to figure some of that stuff out.
Having all the doors monitored satisfies my wife. However, we had a bit of a situation when there was an update that Link rolled out that took away the user permissions on the electronic door locks, and we didn’t exactly have that figured out until later. That one threw us through a bit of a loop. Still, I’m a happy Link customer and plan on expanding on top of my system. All in all, the Link system helps the new home. I had a good experience with the company and I have recommended them to friends.

Time Warner, the other provider that I had was local which is around here. That was landline-based and I had it for a number of years. It was fine but I wanted to upgrade into a cellular-based thing so I went online and did a lot of research on various companies. I focused on Link Interactive because from what I was looking for, they were a bit better priced than if I had stayed with Time Warner, both for the hardware and the monthly charge.
One of Link's feature was a motion detector that could also take pictures if it got activated and that would be sent to your cellular. There are many other ones that had that features but you need to have Wi-Fi all year-round. Majority of the Link equipment came from a source that was pre-programmed into the control panel. The installation was straightforward except for that particular thing. There was a lot of difficulty and misinformation on how to install those equipment and how they operate it. And because these things came from a different source, I found that the people that I was dealing with weren't totally checked out or understood how the things worked. Other than that, I got it up and running and I've had it in operation for a couple of months now, and so far, so good.
The way Link Interactive packaged their things met my needs and I'm happy. It isn't on the high end but works. Link's customer service and the response that I had from the people when I had questions were great. Their reps were all very pleasant and it turned out to be enjoyable talking with them. My wife is so nervous when I'm not around and I decided to purchase a home security system. I reviewed just about all of them out there for pricing, customer service, reliability, flexibility and ease of installation and I had settled down on Link Interactive as getting the highest marks across the board. Their reps were very so-so but consistent in their communications and responsive in putting a new coach together for me. During installation, there were a couple of glitches with some doors and windows needing sensors and not having good descriptions. Some of that stuff upfront in terms of pictures on the website and finding my way around to the great products could be a little better. But the installation was pretty easy.
Equipment quality seems quite good overall too. The control panel is excellent, very high-end and very interactive. There are even good tutorials built into it and it is very easy to add and modify sensors. The system is very customizable, seems very reliable and fairly intuitive. With the increased crime in the area, I decided to buy a home security system. I went with Link Interactive based on 20 different factors. I am a very technical guy and I had a spreadsheet of every vendor, which I ranked. I had a list of requirements and used point values to them. I also talked to every security vendor that was identified in the top 10 in various reports. I had some very specific requirements and Link handles them. So, it was a pass or fail for me, on several things. One, specifically, was being able to unlock doors remotely, and be able to disarm the system by entering a code on the doors. Those features were available on Link. They weren't available on every system. I also had a good interaction with their sales reps and they were knowledgeable. They were able to answer all my questions very specifically.
I like the fact that their security system is self-installation and that I can go at my own pace. However, I haven't gotten around putting all the window sensors in, so the installation is not yet done as I've decided that I had higher priority things on my to-do list. But the installation is good and I didn't feel the system is overly complicated. Their smartphone feature is good as well. I use a Windows phone, and the app on Windows phone is sometimes a bit buggy. But on iOS, on my wife's phone, the app seems fine. The cost of their system is slightly less expensive in upfront costs, and in some cases, also slightly less on recurring cost. I would recommend the Link Interactive system to others.

I did a bunch of research online, and Link's price point with what they offered seemed to be the best. I called them and the rep seemed to be pretty knowledgeable about the systems. He personally had set one up for his father, walked me through a couple, made a few suggestions, and from there on out, it was fine. I knew that I needed a few door sensors when I called them, but I was unsure about the motion sensor. The rep recommended the glass break sensors since I was gonna have pets in the future, which was what I ended going with.
The installation was fairly easy. It was a little more difficult for me because my doors are completely flushed with trim on the outside, so I had to use the provided foam. Even that didn’t do so great. But it was a structural problem, nothing wrong with the system itself. I just had to make it work. My fiancée and I used the system before activating for a couple of weeks, just to make sure nothing was gonna fall or anything was defective. We were happy with the way everything was working, and then we ended up activating. I've also recommended Link to friends.

Purchasing a home security system came to our mind as the neighborhood around us was getting a lot more break-ins and we purchased a $4,000 TV. We went with Link Interactive as they seemed quite reasonable to talk to and their staff was very helpful as they explained how the systems worked, and how they would mark everything, and send it out to us, and how to set it up.
They had a note, "You install it yourself." and I did, which was very simple and straightforward to do. I phone them when I had a bit of an issue with the motion detectors and they told me exactly what I was doing wrong and how to fix it, without using the word stupid, which was good. They were very responsive and fixed it right away. I set up a second party in it for entry, and it was very simple to do as well. I'm happy with the system and the cost was reasonable. Use Link Interactive.

I had a security system for 16 years and I moved to a house that didn't have it. I got Link Interactive and they are way better than my previous security system. I dealt with some very professional, respectable people who really were able to listen to what I needed. They were very kind and really professional in everything they said and did. My biggest thing was that they didn’t push. That sold it for me. I loved the installation. I was able to do it myself and it was simple and easy. I love the fact that I can monitor the equipment. I get alerts via my phone. It’s monitored through the company.
I was able to mount the system on the wall, hardwired in through my wall, down into my basement, into a power unit. I’ve already showed a few people, and they loved the system. People like everything they see, when I show it to them and how I arm and disarm it. They asked me where I got the system, so I sent them the website. I feel secure with Link and I trust the system.

A Link Interactive sales rep called me and was really trying to find the best route for me because I told him I already had an alarm system when I bought the house. I was trying to get the cameras turned on and then he was telling me all about the promotions they had. I was trying to save money and everything he offered me was on point. He got me some stickers with my credits because I didn't use all my credits.
I didn't know how to reset and start the camera that I had so I called to see how to get it set up. I'm 42 years old, I'm simple and I don't remember much about the technology these days. And the girl I dealt with did not get aggravated with me at all. She was on the phone with me for half an hour and she was very, very patient. She also offered to make the price cheaper for me because I paid $48 for my alarm system and then I paid the extra 20 with the camera and the doorbell. She offered to get it all in one package saving me $20 a month so it all goes for $40 for everything. I just had to buy a new faceplate.
All of their customer service reps had been amazing. I called and started to do another transaction last week because we had a hurricane where we were at. I was supposed to get a month free and they started charging my debit card. I called and the rep said that my credit will show up next month. Other than that, my experience has been fine. Their smartphone feature was good and the cost was good too. The reps that helped me were very kind and very patient. They are definitely an asset to the company. I would definitely suggest Link Interactive to others. If I hadn't bought my alarm system, I would have gotten everything from them.

It was absolutely amazing with the representatives at Link. Jose, the guy that I went through was fantastic. I haven't had any issues with the other folks there that I've worked with in the past, either. The installation was awesome. It was all do-it-yourself and the instructions were very easy to follow. All of the sensors came pre-labeled, in their boxes. All I had to do was stick them on the windows or doors that they went to, and the system did everything from there. I like the features too in the system. They do everything that I need them to do. The panel is nice and easy to operate. The app is amazing, and I'm able to do a lot of the stuff directly from the cellphone. And then, when I bought the house, and I moved my alarm system, I had to add some more sensors, and that was very easy to do as well.
I got an individual that's been a jerk and harassing me. With the system, I sleep very peacefully at night, knowing that the police are 30 seconds from getting an alert notification if he tries to enter my house. So I like it. It's a great peace of mind. I recommend Link to everybody. A neighbor was looking for an alarm system, and I told him to call Link.

Our company had previous interactions with Alarm.com, and Link Interactive uses the Alarm.com system. We signed up with Link and their sales team was pretty easy to deal with. I talked to the rep on the phone and told him what we had for the setup. He walked me through the products that would work, how to set them up, and we got it delivered. It was pretty straightforward. The system was fairly easy to install, but it was a little more complicated than I expected. The motion detector caused us more of the frustration trying to get them to where they would detect the correct areas for us. But overall, the installation took about two hours. Once we got it up and running, it’s been very easy to maintain. The system has been working great. It’s connecting in through our phones just like we expected it, and relays messages when anything is happening.
We had a door that didn’t get closed properly when someone just walked out of the door, and I got the notifications on the phone, and was able to call someone at the office to check on the door number two. I also get notifications on the phone on who disarms and arms the system. Even when they’re inside the office and they got it armed, you can tell in the location. I can tell who’s there and I can get in touch with someone immediately if I have questions.

I signed up for something online for more information about home security system and I got put on some weird list wherein I got eight or nine calls in one day from random numbers that left me a message and it was infuriating. I was at work so I'm not answering them. When I finally answered one, it was someone from Link Interactive. I was really irritated but he was really nice and by the end of the call, he talked me into buying the system from them. I got their system for the new house that I just bought. I'm not living in the house yet, but I do have it set up and running, and it has been an easy experience.
He sales rep was helpful and didn't have any trouble with any of my questions. The installation was good although I had to call and get some help because the house didn't have smoke detectors in it. I had purchased a device that amplifies smoke detectors going off in the house. But it turns out that that doesn't work with smoke detectors. They’re not wired in so I was confused about that.
So far, everything has been easy and the quality of the equipment looks good. Their reps were great and were very easy to work with. The features were great too. I'm happy with everything. I liked that it was cheaper and that I could set it up myself. I also like the app, making the house accessible from my phone. It is really great. I also liked that the equipment is open, that I can incorporate other things like cameras so I'm not tied to buying everything from them.

We were upgrading our home security system and Link Interactive was cost-effective for the equipment. When the alarm goes off, it notifies the monitoring company. We also use the smartphone features through Alarm.com and they are working fine. Their reps could do some more following-up though. There was a problem with the system not charging and no one had an answer as to why that happened. Then, we had a power outage and it erased everything. They also don’t have an answer for that yet.

We had a burglary in the neighborhood and because of that, we decided to get a home security system. We chose Link Interactive for the pricing and we also realized that from a functionality standpoint, it was similar to most of the other home security systems. So we thought it worked for our needs. Sales was excellent too. They were very helpful about the entire process. I pretty much took everything other than the cameras and the glass break sensor. The panel that I chose had a built-in glass break detector in it so I did not take the glass break one. As for the installation, it was very easy and overall, our experience with Link Interactive has been great so far.

We moved into a new home and everything has been good with Link Interactive. We had ADT prior and it was nice with ADT that they came out and installed everything. It was do-it-yourself with Link Interactive, so we didn’t have to pay for the installation. It wasn’t hard to install and it was cheaper, so that was nice. The only thing is we need to get our little panel thing mounted. It keeps falling offline, so I have to keep calling Link Interactive and have them put it back. I haven’t had my husband home to drill the hole in the wall in order to get the panel mounted. Hopefully, that will solve the problem. If not, they said that we could buy some other Wi-Fi extender, although we already have a Wi-Fi extender right above it. I think it’s just that the panel is sitting down on the ground and it’s not high enough to be able to see it. The customer service experience is fine. They always end up getting it back online, so they’re resolving the issue.
I like the features offered in my system. The doorbell camera is really good. I am able to get an alert on my phone and able to see exactly in front of my house. We also did the camera in front of our house so it is a 180 view of our whole porch, and that is really nice. I am also able to see if there was a break in and will be able to see anywhere in our course. The quality of the system is good compared to the cost. Link Interactive is cheaper than ADT monthly and we have more features. With ADT, it was just a home security system and we didn’t have cameras or anything like that. I feel a lot more comfortable knowing that we have an alarm system with Link Interactive now.

With Link Interactive, we don’t have to set up an appointment for someone to come in. We can just install the system ourselves. We spent around 45 minutes on the phone with their reps as they thoroughly went over their products. The product is great and the service comes at a manageable cost so in that same call, I put in my order. I installed the system and though they had some suggestions, I just installed it wherever I think I may need it considering the way I know the property. It was really easy. Even setting up the call with the emergency 911 was done in a few minutes. The instructions were clear overall but for the door alarms specifically, I did not know those were coded in such a way where, for example, if it was a back door alarm, I need to put that in my back door, or the front door one specifically goes to the front. I thought I get to set it up. As soon as I installed it, I was putting the back door in the front door, the window on the door.
After the installation, one sensor wasn’t working right. It was reading as if it was tampered. We contacted customer service and since then, we’ve gotten a new sensor. Other than that, the system is fine. The doorbell camera works great as well as the motion sensor and the door alarms. The smartphone features are also easy to use and though we have the hub, we use our phones primarily. We have a daughter that walks to and from school and it’s nice that she can use her phone to lock and unlock the alarm settings for security.

I mounted them first and I should have got them connected to the Wi-Fi first. That was one of the things I called and talked to a service customer guy about, and he stayed on the phone with me for a long time until I got four cameras up and running. From researching online, I saw that Link Interactive was a good investment for an alarm system. The cost is fair and the equipment has a nice design. It's technology and sometimes the quality is just plastic and technology compliant. The price and the quality were the reasons I went with Link Interactive. The installation was a little bit harder because of the instruction though. It was not really clear. A little improvement is needed in the manual.
The app on the phone also needs to be a little bit updated or they should make some improvements in functionality. But other than that, it's good. For some settings, you cannot manage them on the app and you have to use the computer. That's what I do and I like it. One thing that the panels cannot do though is to call or see through the cellphone what is going on inside the house through the camera in the panel. Some sensors also could not receive the signal perfectly. But the customer service helped me and everything is working fine so far. Customer service is really helpful and it's always available if you need it. It's good.

We hope to serve you for many years! Happy to have you as a customer. Thanks for the review!

I moved to a new neighborhood and I wasn't sure if I needed to have a home security system. It was something new to me but what motivated me to get it was the discount for the home insurance. I put my info on Alarm.com and different companies were calling me. But the rep from Link that I spoke with felt different and it was like someone who cared. It felt more personal like I was talking to a friend. I also checked their online reviews and their BBB rating was really good. The price, compared to the other companies, was the same but I was also looking at the reputation of the company, what they are offering me and the equipment on my apartment I get to keep.
I got the Link equipment but I was terrified to open the box so it was sitting there for a few weeks. But once it was opened, I thought it wasn't bad. The sensors were labeled with numbers and for which room or floor it was. I and my husband installed it and it only took about an hour. The features are really good and the app is pretty cool. Now, I feel much more secure and if I leave town and I'm not here, I could still keep an eye in my house.

Link had good reviews and when I talked to their sales rep, he was very knowledgeable on what they had and told me about the deals they were having. He proposed all kinds of different opportunities without trying to gouge me, and the price was right. When the system was set up, Leland (the guy who helped me) and Erika (the one who helped me do the set-up) were extremely patient, very nice, and worked with everything. They also found solutions when things weren’t working right, so it was good.
I prefer other people doing the installation, but it’s okay. It went as well as could be expected, but the push-button that needs to be locked on my front door doesn’t work anymore and I can’t enter my code. However, my experience with them has been good and anything is better than Brinks. I feel a bit more secure than my older system because I have more glass break sensors and a carbon monoxide sensor, so it’s a little safer.

I wasn’t very happy about my first experience with my alarm system from Link going off and how it all transpired. We had just moved in and my son forgot the code. I got a text instead of a call letting me know that my system went off and I had my son on the other line while it was still going off. I never got a phone call, not even as much as a follow-up. With ADT, my previous provider, I used to get a phone call right away.
The whole point of the system and the alarm system is to feel secure. And all those little things combined, there needs to be some improvement. When I also called the dispatch when the incident happened when my alarm was set off and I inquired why I was not contacted, they couldn’t answer that for me. They wanted to refer me to customer service and honestly, at that moment I didn’t have the time or patience to hold and speak to a different department. That one interaction was not pleasant because they should’ve known that. I understand that that’s not necessarily their department but they should at least be knowledgeable as to how and when the customers contact them because obviously, that’s their department that’s reaching out if that is the case. So I didn’t appreciate that.
Even so, the second person I spoke with was a woman and she was very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. She followed with me by after two as I requested. The next thing, I wasn’t able to speak with her because I was busy. She also didn’t know the answer which was why she had to call me back. She researched and then she followed up and I appreciated that. She was also the one who informed me of the whole verbal passcode and the fact that I did not have that feature turned on.
Another thing is I did the installation of the system myself and it was tedious. I didn’t know where to set up the sensors because prior to that when I had ADT, they installed the system for me and there were wired sensors. So Link has wireless sensors that were shipped to me with an adhesive. I didn’t know how to stick them to where it would work and the guy that I was speaking to wasn’t any much help as well. He asked me to send an email and pictures of my windows so he could explain to me but he didn’t end up helping me. I had to figure out on my own how to stick the sensors and to make them work properly. He seemed like he was new and didn’t know how to help me so it was quite a frustrating experience. I was on the phone with him for about 40 minutes and I ended up having to let him go because I wasn’t getting anywhere with him.
The instructions were specifically for my type of window and it directed me to the website to view instructions on different types of windows and at that moment, I didn’t have the ability to go online and try to find that information. The customer service person that I was speaking to should’ve been able to direct me and assist me and especially when I sent some pictures of the windows.
The quality of the system is fine. I don’t have a problem with that with the exception of the actual main unit. I have a separate panel that I have upstairs and that one has a battery that lasts for a long time that I don’t have to replace. But the battery in that doesn’t last that long and it needs to be charged to the wall the whole time for it just to work. It would also be nice if I could just stick the control panel to the wall to be able to not have it attached to a cord on my counter. I wanted to save some money but for the system and the hassle of it all together, I would probably just go back to ADT and pay the money and like to get what I would pay for.

I wanted time to get familiar with the system as a whole before I activated it and they didn't push me to activate my stuff right away. Their customer support has always been there whenever I needed them. Also, it was a breeze to do the self-install. It was relatively easy once I knew exactly what I was doing and read the instructions. Everything already came pre-programmed to the control panel which I knew, but reading the instructions, it says you need to pair everything and that can throw some people off.

I wanted a wireless system that is affordable. I did a little research on the top recommended companies and Link Interactive fell within the top 3 or 4, depending on who you are looking at. My daughter did all the installation for me. She just read the instructions and she did fine. We didn’t have to call for any further instructions or didn’t even look at YouTube videos that I knew were available. But if it was me, I might have more hours doing the installation and would have needed more instructions or called in. My system has everything. It's easy and you can operate on certain basic code. Their system is sort of sold a piece now, though. So, if I wanted cameras, I can buy the cameras which were something that I opted to not purchase at this time. I did go back and buy the glass breakage sensor.
Dealing with their customer service has been good. When they have realized they sent me the wired smoke detector instead of the wireless one, they corrected that and sent me the wireless smoke detector. My only issue with them is we've had a couple of false alarms and they are calling my secondary contact instead of the main contact. Another issue I have with Link is that I've been connected for at least 45 days now but I haven't seen a bill. I don’t know if they’re billing me or just debiting my account. Since I do automatic payments, they have my account number just to draft but I still sometimes would like to see the bill. Other than that, it's been good with Link Interactive.

I decided that I wanted to have some security. My brother purchased from Link Interactive and he recommended them to me. Their salesperson was the best. He was super knowledgeable, helpful, and really great to work with. I also called Link Interactive back on a couple of occasions because I needed to add some equipment and the woman I talked to didn’t seem to be as knowledgeable about things. But she was very thorough and would look things up and find out, then tell me the answers because I had a lot of questions.
I did the installation of the system myself and a person from Link Interactive walked me through on the phone. They made it really easy. I’m more verbal and I knew that they would walk me through it so I went that route. The lady I spoke to had a manual in front of her so she was looking at it as I was talking about it and how could we troubleshoot things. Then she got help from someone about something. I was surprised because I was a little nervous about how the installation was gonna work while were doing it over the phone. But they were super helpful and resolved things they needed to resolve.
Because of the noise that my dogs make, I'd set the system to be on Armed Away. Then I'd leave it and the glass break sensors would go off. We disabled that but it seems that they still go off. So when I leave, I do Armed Stay. On the weekend, the people at the Link Interactive main office aren’t there. That was when the system was new and I was trying to find out why was the alarm going off and it keeps happening. The people from Link Interactive said I had to talk to someone in the office on Monday because they were not there. But they gave me a resolution and someone followed-up with me, so it was fine.
Then I was ordering some products and we determined what I was ordering. However, I changed my bank account so the card I had on file didn’t go through so the people at Link Interactive couldn’t process the order. It took a week to get back and get it done. But that was probably my fault. Then, the product I needed wasn’t available anymore. I was getting a B-stock and somebody sold them in the meantime since my card didn’t work out. So now, I have to wait until they get more B-stock to get the window sensors that I wanted because I couldn’t pay the full price and I need to call them back to check into that B-stock. I also ordered cameras and I gotta find someone to help me get those installed.
Also, the Link Interactive smartphone feature is good. But I'd like to be able to see when my doors are opened and closed and I can't see that on the app. I can log in to Alarm.com and see more information though. When the Link Interactive app says, “Front door open,” it gives the current status but if I wanna look at the history of when things happened, I have to go to the main website and it would be nice to have that on the app. Maybe it is on the app and it could be a user error, so I need to look at the app a little more. Other than that, I feel better since I got Link Interactive and I recommended them to my friend who bought a system as well.

We're happy to hear that you are enjoying your system and that it is providing you with the peace of mind you deserve! Thanks for all your feedback and please don't hesitate to give us a call if you ever have any questions.

I was looking for a good security system at a cost that I could afford. I went to Costco, found Link Interactive, and they seemed to be okay, so I went with them. Their customer service reps were good and I had no problem with the installation. To me, one security system is probably just as good as the other and some of the features of my system with Link are a little expensive. I've already met my two-year obligation with them and now, I'm looking into leaving them and going with somebody else because. I'm paying way too much to Link. In fact, they raised the bill a few months ago. I called them there and they said they would put the price back to where it was but they haven't done it yet. I don’t have any real bad complaints other than that, however, I'm looking around and hearing other things now and from what I can see, cost is coming way down on some of these things.

Thanks for sharing this with us. We will look into this right away and get your price reverted. Thanks

I bought a new home and I wanted to feel safe. I liked Link Interactive's price and I went with them. When I ordered my equipment, I got just one keyfob but they sent me two. I called them about it and their rep repeated my order but in the end, they still charged me for two keyfobs and never sent me the return information for the other one. I ended up keeping the extra one and I let my sister have it. Then, I knew I had to install everything myself but the instructions were not clear. I stayed in contact with them and they had to send me videos and this and that. But I have an old home, so I have a lot of molds around my doors and it took me a while to get the equipment up for that. Also, I'm still not hooked up and I still don’t have my motion detectors up.
All in all, I have not had a good experience with Link Interactive at all and I'm frustrated. They only tell you you don’t need tools and stuff to hook up your system, but you have to. Plus, they say that they the equipment is stick-on, but the actual motion detector is not a stick-on. So, I would tell others that I wouldn't bother with Link Interactive.

Thanks for sharing your experience. We are sorry to hear that your experience has been anything short of amazing. Our systems are designed for most homes but sometimes that always doesn't work with older homes. That being said we are confident we can get you up and running. We will have someone reach out. The apartment complex that I’m currently staying in had multiple break-ins in broad daylight and I was not feeling safe because my wife and daughter are at home. So I went and started shopping for a security system which is most suitable for the apartment. I found Link Interactive more reasonable with the services that they offered and after reading through multiple reviews, I found them within the budget that I had. Also, I had an interaction with one of their consumers who was very helpful and kind in helping me zero down what would be ideal for my house and at the price point that was offered.
Then during the installation, I didn’t have any issues except that the equipment was not sticking on to the foam. So far, I'm liking the system and my experience with it has been good. Though I haven’t started using everything that has been offered, the system is working perfectly. I use its smartphone features and I arm and disarm the alarm using the app very frequently.
Link's customer care reps have been extremely helpful, too. I was getting to a two-year contract to get a better rate and I wish my rate would have been a lot more cheaper on the hardware cost considering it is a two-year contract that I’ve been tied on to. Other than that, I'm kinda happy as of now. Also, I did a referral to my friend and he got Link Interactive as well.

Thanks for your feedback and referring your friend! We are happy to have you as a customer.

I had another security system before and they were great. But Link had a feature that allowed at least a camera to take a picture of something in an area that doesn’t have Wi-Fi, so I switched. I got a property that has a farmhouse situation where it doesn’t have Wi-Fi and I would like to find out if a cat or someone walked by in an area.
So far, my experience with Link Interactive has been terrific. Their reps were very knowledgeable, professional, and answered my questions. And when I did the installation, it was pretty easy. I only had a couple of motion sensors, so I just set them where I needed them. With Link Interactive, I somehow get a security where I could view what is going on without Wi-Fi and I don’t know how that is possible. After the camera takes a picture, it is automatically sent to my phone. The system is doing what it is supposed to do and it is a little less expensive than my previous company, which I was pleasantly surprised with. Also, I use the smartphone features and when I have people coming and going, or when I’m not available to be there, I can activate and deactivate the alarm always through that. I feel a lot more comfortable with the security system and I would recommend Link.

I've had other security systems with other homes and then I got Link because they are a DIY system. The service plan is good and Link ties into the Alarm.com Ecosystem pretty well. Whether it's on the sales side or the customer service side, people are pretty knowledgeable about the hardware and the software that we're dealing with, so I thought that that was impressive. The people seemed to know the business quite well and if they don't know something they have the access to people who do.
However, security systems have become driven by a combination of different communication methods such as WIFI, cellular or even radio frequency. This isn't Link's fault but I'm experiencing some difficulty with that, because of it being a rural location. Some components that run off the WI FI are pretty good, because we have a good WIFI system there but then the cellular signal is not so great maybe because of the structure of the home so we have some challenges to communicate with centers and things like that. I'm trying to work through that and Link has been helpful. Operationally the system is not where it needs to be but overall Link has been a good experience.

We had a home invasion so we got Link Interactive for safety measure. I explored a few different options and what I liked about Link is that we could customize what we needed, based on where we live and our needs. There was also an option for a camera and window sensors - one of the things I looked at. They were really trying to push the doorbell, which for our condo, just wouldn't work.
The only thing I really liked was the representative that helped me, Joseph. He really spent time speaking to me, really going through everything even when I had follow up questions. The customer service is also big piece of why I went with Link, because it was such an emotional purchase. We had a little delay hooking up the camera because of the damage to our house. When my husband finally set it up, the representative that helped him was really patient because we had some problems.
We still have a problem with one camera that's being resolved and the rep was like the most patient person ever. For some people it's a frustrating experience to install a system that you don't know what you're doing so it takes a special person. The only downside is because we live in the city of Boston and we live in a busy street. We went through our data and just a few hours of the system being activated so I wish I had known a little bit more about that. We're not in the suburbs where we might have motion a couple of times a day so we ended up having to upgrade our program and spending more money. We also have to buy a backup device.
I've shown the camera images to the other three tenants in our building and they couldn't believe the quality. For an outdoor home security camera, it's really good. That's really important because if you need to get a picture of someone it has to be clear. So, I was really amazed with the technology. We also have the app on our phones. My husband also has it set up, where he can look online. We like it. We were away last weekend and I said, "Oh, let's see what's happening at home." We had a lot of dogs and someone's dogs peed on our front steps.
We feel more secure since having Link. Having the camera, gives us an added relief after the home invasion. We have a few last things to get worked out likeeven when we tried to get someone to remotely help us fix this camera, the camera is still faulty. But I'm confident that the folks that we need to help us, will help us because we've had that experience, so far.

I moved and there was already a two gig system here in place. I used Link security in the past and was familiar with them so I called the sales group when I first had a contract for the house. There was some additional information they needed once I own the house and could get and look at some of the details on it. There were some couple items in the panel that needed to be upgraded and a couple of additional accessories that I needed, and they helped through that purchase, so they're really good. I installed the system myself and It was pretty simple. The instructions they gave were clear.
The features of the system were decent and were mostly for added security. The equipment was the existing one that was here in the house. If I was starting, I would have bought some of the newer panels that were available. There were also convenient features like chime for the garage door so I could shut it if I'm not there and the system could warn me. The monitoring services is on par as well. The Alarm.com app that Link leverages is good and probably one of the better apps that I've seen for home alarm systems. We also use a lot of Nest products here at the house and currently, there's no integration between Link and Nest. That would probably one of the biggest features I would want if it was available.

Great! We're glad to hear that your self setup went so smoothly.

I was looking for a home security system. In the past, I had ADT for several years. Then, I moved from Florida to North Carolina and I did some research online and Link Interactive was one of the top three. Also, the price was good and there were no equipment charges and fees that I would have to pay so, I went with them. I did the installation myself which was easy. I found that if it’s a magnet on a window sensor, it starts acting a little funny. So, they had to send me some Styrofoam to attach it on so it kinda lights up right and it doesn’t throw the sensor off. But other than that, it was pretty self-explanatory on how to install. They had some good YouTube videos in case I got confused or wanna make sure I was doing it right and those helped me as well.
I like the fact that I got the doorbell video camera, which is nice. There was a thermostat which I ended up giving back, but I like that they had that as an option. It didn’t cost me a bunch of extra money and it looked like it was a lot of things that were pretty secure instead of just the basics. Also, it seems like it’s very user-friendly. The emails come as soon as something goes on from even touching the alarm, to turning it off, to putting it stay or away.
I read that the customer service can be a little iffy but I haven’t had any problems with them. They’ve been pretty responsive with everything. They will send you a replacement without any issues and they’re supposed to be sending me one of the replacement to one of my window sensors that I had to send back. Anybody that wants to save some money instead of paying high fees for a company like ADT or anything to do with external monitoring but do the same job would benefit from using this.

Happy to have you as a customer. Thanks for the review!

I had an IQ2 before from a different company but I had some issues with the panel. I did bit of research and there were security companies that are good. There was Frontpoint but they are using an older system and I wanted to go with IQ2, which is what Link has. Also, Link's pricing was pretty good. I decided to go with them and see what happens. Their rep explained everything to me properly and he offered what I wanted to fit my budget. What I needed was something that I can have an app to have a look and manage and he gave me that. Then, the equipment arrived and there were no issues. I've had a similar system so I know how it works. Everything was self-installed.
I'm on trial until October to decide whether to keep it. I wanted a month and a half to test it out but I'm having a couple of issues with the image sensor not working which I hope they will resolve. I asked them if the alarm would trigger if an intruder comes to the house and comes into the front door and they said it should but it didn't happen for me. They're trying to see what we can do. I have a large front door and it has a very narrow gap and has a huge frame inside. They sent me something to put in to help elevate it so the sensor will work but it doesn't. But whatever happened, it was not Link Interactive. These are just very temperamental gadgets which sometimes work and sometimes, don't.
They said an option will be to drill on the door and put something else, which I don't want to do because it's a very expensive door. Also, I'm not a a technician to do that. Another option is to drill a huge hole on the door and put some gadget. When the door is closed, it can pick up the alarm. But if I ever leave the company then I would have this hole on my door and that's something I'll have to think about. Other than that, the quality of equipment is good. All these new gadgets work fine when they are interacting with each other. Sometimes, we have all the technical issues but the customer service has been very helpful. I would recommend Link highly, just make sure the gadgets work.

Getting a home security system is a smart thing to do today. My husband spoke with Link Interactive's reps and he was really pleased. He had the system within a few days, so it was great. We have four or five cameras and the outside camera, and they are really nice. We can talk over one of the cameras which is cool. Their system is very good and up to date, the camera quality is excellent and the programming is easy. It works on our phone and the camera can be angled to watch my dogs without interruption. It’s a really well-made system. The only feature that I would like is a camera at the front door that doesn’t have to replace the doorbell. Nevertheless, I would recommend Link overall. We own a business that we’ve put in about 80,000 upwards in security and we own another home that we put in a $3,000 security system, so for us to move into this new home was really sweet.

We moved in to a new house and because of Link's customer service and portability of the hardware, we decided to buy from them a standard kit to secure our home for the most part. My husband just wanted to make sure that everything's safe. Also, I’m a IT person and one of my biggest concerns is the ability to interpolate with everybody else and connect with other devices, not just specific to Link. They seem to support the actual Z-wave, plus allow us to connect other people to it. So, that was why we did not go with Vivint because they hard-lock a hardware with you.
The sales people were on point and were not trying to oversell us. Plus, their customer service was good in making sure that everything was configured right and did what they could to resolve any technical questions. Installing the system went perfectly fine too. I pushed a lot of buttons and figured everything else well. But I'm still figuring out the portability of the hardware. I was trying to get a lot of different devices connected to it and found out that it doesn't have ZigBee connectivity which was annoying. I couldn’t get any of my lights to work with it and couldn't connect Google system very easily. There's an Alarm.com app for it but it does not talk to other people very well. Other than that, the quality of service from Link Interactive was pretty good and the equipment seems to be running well.

I wanted a home security system for safety and security. The company I previously had had a nice system and worked very good. But I switched to Link Interactive because of the pricing and the way the system was all setup. Their sales rep was pretty good and very helpful. Then, I didn’t have to do too much to set up the equipment. They sent the stuff and I put them where I needed them to go. Then I called in, told them that the sensors were set, and got set up on which sensor is which. The installation was relatively easy until I found out that all the sensors were numbered and labeled already. Other than that, the instructions were clear enough.
Now I got my codes and I've shown everybody how to use the system. I got my two kids, my mother-in-law, and wife there, so everybody has to learn how to work those things to let them know when somebody’s coming in or coming through a door and someone is there. The features of the system are simple to operate. I like the alert to let you know sensors have been activated or contact has been activated. The cost is reasonable as well. I've had them where I paid up to quite a bit for monitoring, so Link's pricing is good. But when I needed three more sensors, I called them and they told me that I had to purchase them at $22 each. So, I said I'd get them later.
All in all, I feel secure having Link Interactive and I would tell others that it is a good system. I could use another keypad, though, because one would go in the living room or somewhere where when you walk in you can disarm it, and the other one would go into my bedroom. So, if I'm in there at night, I can arm it and I don’t have to go run all the way to the hallway to disarm it. That was how I had it in my other system. I had one keypad downstairs in the laundry room and the other was in the bedroom. That was convenient.

Great! We're glad to hear that your self setup went so smoothly.

I bought a house and I wanted to get a home security system. I did a lot of research on all of the available companies and found a couple of user review websites on the various home security systems. Link Interactive had the best introductory offer as far as price was concerned. A lot of the equipment was discounted right off the bat, plus their monthly service fee was right on par with everybody else's and cheaper than most places. I also compared the quality of Link's equipment to what else was available at the time and it was right on par with the top dogs like ADT and Vivint. There was one other company that seemed to be right on par with what Link offered, but with no automation, which wasn’t worth it, and just the general security monitoring.
Aside from that, one of the bigger reasons why I went with Link Interactive was because their sales guy wasn’t pushy like a lot of the other companies. If you go to the website of a security company, they generally don’t have the prices available for you. You have to call or you have to submit a letter request then they call you. So, I did that three times and the persons that called back for everybody else were very pushy and trying to get me to sign up with them right then, which I wasn’t too keen on because I was doing research on all of them. But this guy from Link that spoke with me just gave me information and his contact number then said that whenever I made a decision, I should let him know.
My Link system was all self-install and putting them on was pretty simple. I needed a screwdriver and that was about it. I went with a little bit of an upgraded padlock which required taking the old padlock out and putting the new one in, but everything was preconfigured with their central control unit. So, I didn’t have to pair anything up and the equipment basically worked out-of-the-box. I like the features of my system and Link really kinda hit the nail in the head on that. I also use the Alarm.com app and I use it like a lot of the other security companies. I get about 90% functionality by using the smartphone features versus just going through the web page. Overall, it's pretty nice to know that if somebody was to enter my house at a time I wasn’t expecting it, I'd get notified about it. And if my friends were in the market for a home security system, I'd tell them that Link Interactive is the best. No one else can beat them.

Link Interactive fit everything that we need them to do. And, their rates were a little bit better than their competitors. The process was simple. The IQ panel made it easy. And since I already had so much in the infrastructure, I was able to cut quite a bit of the cost. The installation took a while because I wasn’t sure about a lot of stuff and I was confused. It would have helped if the video that they had online were more detailed. So far, Link’s equipment is a good quality and it works. I like the features of the system. However, I have the thin windows and door sensors and they told me not to put them around a lot of metal but most of the people’s front doors and the doors that lead outside are metal so I found it weird. I started off with an email and the rep was responsive. We went back and forth a couple of times. I went through purchasing it through him and he explained everything that I was getting. The installation was simple and the sensors weren't hard to install. It was just peeling stickers. However, I had an issue with the app. It doesn't link properly to the sensors. I renamed the sensors in the panel, but on my phone, it still shows door 10 instead of garage. It's still closing door 10 instead of my garage door.
The system's cost was fair. I can probably get a cheaper system that won't have the same features that I probably won't ever use, but it's good to have something that's capable of getting those features. The features are good and I look forward to getting a smart lock and a camera. Having the system is definitely safer and I have peace of mind. If my alarm is on, I don't have to worry about anything. But there's also the factor that if someone accidentally opens the door and the alarm is on, I’ll get charged for it. Other than that, the sense of security is pretty good. I've already ended up getting it for my in-laws' house.

I bought a new house in a big city so the time was best to get a home security system. Link Interactive was the most reasonable to talk to and they presented the best possible option for future encounters. Their rep seemed to be very honest. Everything was upfront and that was important to me. It didn’t seem like anything was being hidden. I was apprehensive about doing the installation on my own but I was able to call whenever I had problems so that was fine. The installation went okay but when I found out how difficult it was gonna be for the windows, I decided to use the option of the sound instead of the motion. I’m an idiot when it comes to using my hands, but I was able to do it so it should be simple.
I also knew exactly every option that's available and I like that I can add to whatever I already have if I decide in the future. I am using its smartphone features as well. I like it and it's worth all my money. The cost could be cheaper but it’s reasonable. I’d recommend Link Interactive and I told my sister in California to look into it. I’m also trying to figure out if I want a thermostat and the automatic doors but it’s still something I’ve been trying to decide on.

We had a home security system that we had in place for 30 years, but it died. Link Interactive offered us equipment that allowed us to keep and use our existing magnetic door sensors. A salesperson helped me put together the program and then the lady who took over from him to close the deal was able to give me an even better deal on equipment. I got eight windows, two glass breaks, and two motion keypads. I did the installation myself and it was very easy. I was also able to find some YouTube videos that allowed me to do some advanced programming. The quality of the security equipment is very good and so far, we've enjoyed the features. We've been able to arm and disarm from our cell phones and check the status of the system.

We were remodeling our house and we got robbed. I googled top security systems and Link Interactive was one of them. The sales person was very nice and patient. We had multiple e-mails back and forth and he did a phone call with me. I was still on the fence but he was very knowledgeable, gave me good suggestions, and was there for all my questions. We finally got Link's system and I forced my boyfriend to do the installation. He just YouTubed how to install it and it went real good. He took two hours because he kept double-checking and looking at other ones. We also didn’t want the alarm to be going off or anything like that.
I’m very satisfied so far and my sense of security has been good since having the system. I feel more at ease and I definitely felt like the house was secure when we were on vacation for a week. We used it, which was good. I would recommend the salesperson who assisted me and the whole process was easy. One doesn’t have to wait for anybody to come and make an appointment for them to install the system. You could do it on your own on your own time.

We're so happy to hear that you are feeling safer with your Link system!

I was reading reviews online and Link has mostly got positive reviews. And since I didn’t wanna get locked into a three-year contract, I went with them. There was a price difference, but at least with them I had the choice between one, two, and three years. I bought the initial kit and everything was already preprogrammed in the system. I'm no tech guy, but it was very easy for me to set up. Earlier, however, there was an issue with the motion detectors constantly going off, but there was a patch that they sent through and it fixed the issue. Other than that, the system has been great. I like the smartphone features, the geofencing, and the key fobs. The alarm itself on the panel is fairly loud too. It will most likely scare somebody away and I'll probably shortly hear it. Link also has a boost alarm that I can hook up and I would probably end up ordering one of those. My experience with Link has all been positive. They have been like Johnny-on-the-spot.

We hope to serve you for many years! Happy to have you as a customer. Thanks for the review!

I told him what we were looking for and he knew exactly what would suit our needs. Our new house has many windows and I'm happy that there's no sensor on every single window. There's a glass break unit that is perfect and a doorbell camera with our system. And although the cost was the same as my previous one, Link's system has more features that we wanted.

We had a great experience with Link prior to the purchase but after the sale they’ve been half as responsive as far as support, but it’s still adequate. The Link system is more robust and we’re able to turn on and off remotely, plus it’s less expensive than the older ADT system. I installed it myself and it was fairly easy. I'm happy with Link. It’s worth the investment. It’s the least expensive but with most features.

We had a home security system that just became non-functional so it was time to replace it. I shopped about three different companies and it came down to two things, basic pricing and packages. The Link Interactive rep who I spoke to was awesome and their system felt like a good bang for the buck in terms of the quality of the control panel. We have one kid in the family and my fiancée is very technologically challenged so I had to have something that was user-friendly and the touch screen was awesome. Link Interactive is wireless, which is awesome again. Comparing it to the prior system, it’s completely two different animals as the former was a wired system.
The installation was a cakewalk and it was one of the easiest things I ever installed. Everything was pretty much straightforward. It took me 2 months after we got it because of a job change and other stuff but we like it. It does exactly what it’s supposed to do. The remote arming feature is badass. It’s one of my favorite things. If I leave the house and I forget, I could do it from anywhere I want and that’s a great thing. I’d highly recommend Link Interactive.

The reps of Link Interactive were pleasant and helpful. However, the monthly cost is high, so it would be nice if the cost went down a little. I'm not expecting a lot. I pay about $35.99 but it would be nicer if it was less than $30. Also when I was looking at the system, I didn’t quite understand but my friend took a look at it and helped me set up the system so that made it easy. The features meet my needs. The system works well and it's accessible from my phone. I just activate the system on my phone, which makes it convenient.

I Googled and looked at the best smart residential and commercial alarm systems and then two came up. I was pointed to Link Interactive's direction. The Link Interactive system that we have is for commercial use. Their rep called me and she was a very nice young lady. She walked me through the steps and what I was looking for in the packages. She then put them together and emailed them to us. We liked how the interaction was because she wasn’t very pushy or tried to sell us anything, so we called them back based on that. Plus she gave us enough time to make a good decision.
Everything was already preset up in the box and that was cool. It was also helpful that everything was self-explanatory and there were a lot of videos online. I can go and change and set up different rings in the doors for each sensor. The support was there and I didn’t have to call in, but the rep was very helpful. This is our first time trying the system out and I like it. As compared with the current competition, Link Interactive has more features offered with our system and they're good. The touchpad they offered is way above average. It looks nice and gives me all the features. However, we would like somebody to call and tell us how the response works when the security system actually goes off. Other than that, everything was good and I’m happy with their service.

There has been a lot of break-ins in our area so we got a home security system for safety. Link Interactive's rep was really friendly and handled my situation very well. She gave me a breakdown of how it would work and said that I can add whatever I needed as far as equipment. It wasn’t like a package and they kinda customized it to my needs. Then they broke down the actual equipment amount into installments but I have to pay a large sum upfront. The cost of the system goes hand-in-hand with the quality. For $60 a month for a camera and alarms on every door and window in the house is a good deal. However, the installation was a little more complicated than I thought it was gonna be. They made it seem like it was a lot easier but it seems trying to get the cameras to connect and set everything up were a little frustrating. I probably would have paid a little bit more to have somebody come and install it.
The features of the system are also a little complicated to use. As far as getting the video set up, there are times where its signal will fail. For instance, we had an incident last night where there was a car parked outside and I clicked “record” but it only recorded for about 39 seconds and I couldn’t get the rest of it to record so I didn’t get the model of the car. I just saw lights. It failed me on that one. Nonetheless, I feel safer because I feel like the system will catch any movement that’s going on in the front and the back of the house. We have a little one so any time she tries to open the door, it will let us know that there’s a door open.

Happy to have you as a customer. Thanks for the review!

I’ve been in business for 30 years. I wanted a system that's wireless versus my past system, so I ended up with Link. However, it’s just been a nightmare. Their rep was a salesman and wanted the commission. He said it’s the greatest alarm system in the world, but everything with the sensors is cheap plastic and made in China. We were told that the installation would be simple too, but I had to hire an electrician to help with everything. They have these crappy little screws and we needed a micro Phillips screwdriver. It's very disappointing.
The panic buttons are also like cheap, little wrist things that are for senior citizens if they fall down. They’re like toys and now I’m regretting that I went with Link. I use SimpliSafe in one of my home rentals and their equipment is far superior than Link's. The smoke alarms are absolutely useless too. I have two of them--one in my kitchen area and another in my attic. However, they don't work because we were told that they were far away and we needed a repeater. So, we spent money and they sent us a repeater, only to find out that 50% of the staff says repeaters work with the smoke alarms while the other half says they don't. We've had to turn the smoke alarms off because we keep getting a notification that the smoke alarm is not working or it’s out of range.
Our latest nightmare is that there are no delays right on the doors. Almost every day, my manager has to sit at the panel setting this alarm while the restaurant is busy and we have customers. On Tuesday night, when the manager left the building, the motion alarms set off. The motion alarms' original delay was set for 30 seconds. Instead of putting a delay on the alarm, it went off and we couldn’t even get to the back door to get out. I had to rush back to the restaurant.
Every employee supposedly has their name programmed as well, and with their own code, it’s not working. They have to use the default setting. It’s also taken two months to get my name off the paperwork. I told them to use the name of my business. And I had to sign a whole new contract a second time. It's been terrible with Link. If someone asks me about them, I'll tell them not to use this company.

Sorry to hear about these issues. We will definitely have someone reach out and help resolve them. We appreciate your patience and are confident we can satisfy your needs.

I wanted to protect my home, valuables, and myself. So, I looked into getting a home security system. I was looking for certain features and I was deciding between Link and another company. The person from the other company I spoke with had me fit and I was ready to make that decision based on my interaction with him and their customer service. But it really came down to the price because Link ended up being about $20 less. Plus, the initial fees were less, too.
I had an amazing experience with the other company's guy, but Link's rep was cool and I wasn't disappointed. The install went well, too. The instructions were clear and I didn’t have to figure it out myself. I ended up calling to get the doorbell set up and they were helpful for that. Then the Bluetooth on the panel wasn't working and I called again. The guy helped talk me through on how to turn that on as well.
I feel like a lot of security companies out there overprice. When you think about how much you interact with the system a day, it's really just an on and off feature and it's ridiculous what people are charging. But Link had the best deal I've seen and they are well worth it. They were offering the same things that these other companies were offering but for way less. The smartphone features are good, too. And with the system, there is this added peace of mind, especially if I'm in bed upstairs and I hear something downstairs, the alarm will go off so I should be fine. I'm not so jumpy knowing that I've got that extra security. Overall, it has been a positive experience and I’d recommend Link.

I have a home security system provided through my cable company. I was upgrading for more but it seemed that they were no longer modernizing and updating with the time for home automation and Alexa integration. I purchased a system from Link Interactive as the features were compelling. Also, their sales guy was a bit more aggressive than the other people that I was dealing with. He was persistent in consistently reaching out to try to secure the sale. And although he was knowledgeable, it seemed that he didn't do enough time deep digging into my particular application because I still don’t have the system fully installed. So, it shows that I’ve had the system for a couple of months but it’s still in the box.
Link Interactive did not clearly disclose the fact that it was a self-installation system as well. The pieces that I could do myself were fairly simple, however, the camera mounting, wiring and things with that nature are beyond my threshold. I have some anomalies here with the way that my house is wired too. And so far, no one has followed up with me to figure out if I got it installed or how it’s going, but they've billed me. And that’s a bit frustrating.

Sorry to hear this. We will have someone reach out immediately. Thank you for your feedback.

I needed a home security system for my new home. I found that Link Interactive was in the top three and that their people were responsive compared to others. They also knew what they were talking about. Another thing was--even if the service was the same for everybody, the equipment was cheaper because it’s a self-installation thing. I dealt with their salesperson Jordan and he would call me if I ask him to call, which was what I wanted. I tried to do the same with CPI but they never responded back. And ADT was responsive but they’re very expensive.
The installation was easy. I’m a software engineer so I know how these things work. One thing I like is that the panel itself has a glass break sensor, so I didn't have to spend some money for something extra. The sensors are working fine. However, there is an issue that’s happening in my house. Even if I open and close the door, the sensors sometimes don't read the closing and then the system keeps saying that the doors are open. One reason could be the gap between the sensor and the magnet. So, Link Interactive sent me 10 new magnets but I have yet to install them in a different place to see if that solves the issue.
Also, I might need something even thinner, so I won't have an issue with the doorframes. With the magnets, I can’t put it too close because when I open the door, I don’t want the magnet to fall off. Then, if you stick it a bit far, it won’t detect. Link Interactive can have magnetic strips that are as thick as those self-adhesive tapes that came with the kit. On the other hand, the touchscreen works fine. And when I tried to do the setup, I didn’t feel that it was less responsive.
I do everything with my phone too because it’s arming and disarming the system. I do the alarm.com. I have the feature where if you’re in the AV mode and your phone is nearby, it just disarms the system. But I don’t know if I want to stick with that thing or should I just remove that because if I lost my phone and somebody found it then got close to my house, the system would just unlock and give me a notification. But still, I would recommend Link Interactive.

My wife and I also wanted time to confer with one another when we were making the purchase and Link was the only one that stood by their pricing and told us to take our time. Installing the system wasn't bad considering that it took me about an hour. And the instructions left something to be desired, but if you’re half decently smart, you could figure it out with relative ease. Our security system has standard features and it works as intended. And since we got it, the peace of mind I feel makes it worth the cost to a point. I would also give Link's name to my friends and tell them to make the right and informed decision.

I had a home security system several years ago and I needed to purchase one when we moved into a new home. When we thought about a new company to choose, I had some knowledge of the Link Interactive's owners. I decided to call them first and they were able to match terms of a similar offer that I had found with Brinks so it was an easy choice. I had a very good interaction with their reps, but they have to set a better expectation about self-installation going forward. It was long and I didn't expect it to be three and a half hours when I called them. If someone has sensors only and just setting up the basics, the installation would be less than an hour, but it’s good to anticipate that cameras and other things could be a couple of hours with some people.
I'm average in terms of being handy around the house but there are some things I do and don't. We ran into some issues and had to troubleshoot, and they were good in helping me through that process. At the end of it, a couple of the sensors weren’t reading right but they were gonna send me some things to help make it work. I was transferred to two different agents halfway through ‘cause their shift was over but they’re very patient and always helpful. We use the features offered in our system, including the app, a lot and they have been fine. We chose to do the doorbell and a camera inside. We also got some alerts set. We’re still figuring it out, but for the most part, it’s been good. The equipment is of good quality and my family seems to like it. Its cost has been all right also.
The main downside for the industry is that technology changes very fast and a lot of them signs us up for a three-year contract, which feels a long time to be stuck in today’s world. There have to be some options to upgrade the technology as it advances like what we see in a lot of the mobile phone space where we get the latest technology when we sign up for a longer term. We still had hesitancy as we contemplated but we went forward and I wouldn’t hesitate to refer a friend to Link Interactive.

I've always had home security systems. More recently, I chose Link Interactive's panels which look more up-to-date. However, I'm not thrilled that I was promised I'd be able to get one of the doorbell cameras. That was a month ago and I still haven't gotten it. The main reason why I chose their service was because Alarm.com was the only one that could have that integrate with the app instead of having to use a separate app on my phone. Now, I'm out of the period where I could return the panel without losing money. I shouldn't have to constantly reach out to the reps about the issue but I did so two weeks ago, even though that’s the sales team's job.
The installation was a breeze for me and the features in my system are good enough. Still, they should look into working with the Google Home integration. Currently, to control my system, I had to say, "Okay, you go connect to Alarm.com," and set my thermostat to cool to 72 degrees, for example. It would be better if I can have them directly connect to the Link Interactive panel through Google Home versus having to connect to Alarm.com through Google Home, and then Alarm.com back into Link Interactive. It gets rid of that middle step when I would be able to say, "Okay, Google. Set my thermostat to 72 degrees."
Also, I've seen a bunch of feedback online about people not thrilled about all of those extra steps because if you misspeak one time in that long jumble of commands, you have to start all the way over. Furthermore, when you just want to turn off your bedroom light, it's a lot easier to say, "Okay, Google. Turn off my lights." Also, the Alarm.com backend doesn't like number integrations, when I have my master bedroom that is a larger room with three sets of light switches. Master bedroom light one, two and three, aren't acceptable to it for some reason. I have to say, "Just turn off master bedroom lights." So using voice control, it's either I have all my lights on or all my lights off. They told me to try spelling out the number but that doesn't help either. So, I may have to rename my devices to something unique, which I shouldn't have to change the name of a light in my room to something different than the actual light in my room to control.
Still, the overall cost of the Link Interactive system is within a dollar or two of any other service offered by any other company. The big seller is the panel as it is one of the newer versions so it's a bit more responsive. With ADT or Vivint, however, you could connect the panel directly with Google Home and the voice control is much more responsive. Also, Link Interactive should have sales teams keep their promises and follow up with customers when they say they're going to. They shouldn't give out their promises just to make a sale. It's quite irritating when I don't get what I'm told I'll be able to get.

Sorry to hear about the missed promises. Your system will work with Google Home or Alexa. Thanks for your feedback!

I moved out of state and my family doesn’t live nearby so I figured it would be safer to have an alarm system. I did research and out of the ones that I was narrowing it down to, I love that Link Interactive has a cheaper down payment. The down payment was something but the representative worked with me to get my down payment cheaper and I really felt comfortable making the purchase. She gave me an extra $100 off the total package. That was cheaper and then I will end up owning the equipment or I can take it with me when I move.
The installation was a little tricky but I figured it out. The instructions need to be a little bit more detailed as far as the motion sensor, which was a little bit difficult to fit together or set up how I wanted it. They also have to find a way to better explain to whoever that made the purchase or will be fitting the door sensors that they make sure the door sensor should be hit when the door is shut and opened. I had to figure it out on my own and it wasn’t extremely hard but somebody who isn’t as experienced with technology and equipment wouldn’t get it as easy as I had.
The features of the system so far are cool and simple. The security panel that I got comes with the glass break sensors and I didn’t have to purchase that separately. I have used the alarm feature on my phone a lot, to disarm and then arm the system. Usually, when I get to my car in the morning, I will arm my security. Or if I forget, I have it set up to remind me at 8:30 to arm it. Then I can disarm as I’m walking in the house. There’s a panic button on the app which is cool too. It’s just the thing I needed ‘cause I have the access.
A couple of times, my alarm went off and the police didn’t come. I’m trying to figure out why and Link found out that they dispatched to the police but the police didn’t come. Still, I’m definitely more comfortable sleeping at night. I’m a scared person so I always feel like somebody could be sneaking in my apartment at any time. When I turn on my alarm at night, I’m comfortable when I wake up in the middle of the night to know that nobody’s in my home because my alarm didn’t go off. So, get a security too ‘cause it would help you sleep better at night. I recommend Link Interactive.

We're happy to hear that you are enjoying your system and that it is providing you with the peace of mind you deserve! Thanks for all your feedback and please don't hesitate to give us a call if you ever have any questions.

Sam was the gentleman who helped me and he understood that I kept running into issues. It kept taking longer and he wasn't pushy. I told him it would be six months and he left me alone for six months.
Their installation was easy because it all comes in a box, they have straightforward instructions, and you set it up yourself. We had ADT at one point in time and it was pretty much the same setup. Just the panel and four door sensors and it took a guy two hours to set it all up because we had to be there for him to be there. But with Link, I did it myself and it took maybe an hour. Also, I really like the features. The system tells me we have really bad storms here, when the power goes out and when it comes back on, and how much of my neighborhood has lost power as well. So, I would know if it's a local issue or if it's mass spread.
I only have door sensors right now and I've decided on getting more pieces that they offer, like their smart thermometer, carbon dioxide detectors, and especially the temperature gauge. The cost is really good because it's $35 a month for what I have right now, with their customer service being so awesome. ADT was $65 a month and it was a pain just to get batteries from them. I've had a good experience overall with Link. I've already recommended them to my mom because she's opening a store and she needs a security system for insurance purposes. I told Sam and they've been working on that.

Happy to have you as a customer. Thanks for the review!

I want to get rid of the old home security company I have so I went in through a website. I found Link Interactive there and their ratings were high. I had a good experience with their representatives and they were knowledgeable. They answered every question I had. The system is in already but I still got three months on the other alarm so I'm not in a hurry to finish the installation. I didn’t want to get stuck with no alarm between it so I always take my time and prepare. The installation is do-it-yourself and it's not difficult, although I’m having a little hard time with the motion sensors. I’m not sure if it should pick up as quick. Our place is a warehouse, a place of business, so we have the commercial doors that go up and down which is a little different than a real house. Still, the features offered in the system are good and the system itself is good. The cost is all right too. Overall, I would recommend Link Interactive.

Link Interactive had good reviews and some good technology then the montly cost was about $15 cheaper than some of the leading providers. But one of the things they do to provide customers that low cost is they require a three-year lock-in. But that aside, the representatives were great. They laid out what I needed and what I wanted, and were straightforward. Then we had a handyman to help us out with the installation.
I have a clunky built-in tool thing that's a little bit too big. But they should rely on the app going forward. That's what we typically use to set the alarm system if we leave the house. But it seemed like we had to buy this iPad thing first to set up and it's like 12 by 6 inches and an inch deep and we don't really know where to put that. So we leave that in the office. We also have a ring doorbell system and that's helpful. We can see who's at our front door and that give us a little sense of security. But we didn't feel it was necessary to spend an additional 300 to get 3D cameras 'cause we live in a neighborhood that is typically safe. With the front door covered, we feel pretty good.
But after purchasing the system, we felt that we were not really using it as much as we wanted. So it would be nice to see them get more into the automated home services and not just security. Nonetheless, the equipment is good and it seems to do the job whenever we turn the service on and forget to turn it off. The system alerts us via text, goes off and makes a lot of annoying noise. The support has been good too. They call us within a couple of minutes and tell us that cops have been notified and check if they should un-notify the cops.

I bought a house two months ago and I didn't know about the neighborhood, so I was kind of concerned. I was shopping around for a home security system and I called Link Interactive because I was googling and I saw their name. The lady on the phone was really nice and sweet. I told her I didn't know when was I moving and she said I could get it and activate it whenever I wanna activate. Then, after I activate, I would have 45 days to try it out. That was great. She sold me.
Last month, I got an email saying my account has been activated which was weird. I did not activate it. But I got 45 days. I would see, figure it out, and give them a call. And then, I forgot. On August 1st, they charged me $44. I called and told them I did not activate anything and asked why were they charging me. They said that because I did not activate, they automatically activated for me. They shipped my item on June 1st and my 45 days was over on July 15. They have a policy that after 45 days, if you don't activate it, they would activate it for you automatically. I said that when I was talking to the lady, she said, 'You can activate whenever you want, and after you activate, you have 45 days.' Also, they've gotta at least have some courtesy and let me know, 'Hey listen, your 45 days is up, and we're just gonna activate your account. Are you ready to activate?' They did not tell me anything about it.
Then, I said I don't need it but they said I'm in a contract now for three years. I'm stuck with something that I just bought online and I don't know what it is and how it's gonna work. And now, I'm gonna pay $45 a month for the next three years. I'm not even living in that house and for the next six months, I won't be living in that house. I have construction going on. They're saying they're trying to help me out but I'm having the worst experience and I won't be able to recommend them to anyone.

We are sorry for the confusion during your on-boarding process. These things should have been made very clear to you. Once you sign up we start incurring fees because your system is on and ready to work. Unfortunately we can't delay activation forever. Hope you can understand.

I liked the cost of Link Interactive as well as the very good reviews of their product. I went with them and their customer service has been fantastic. I've been calling and getting a hold of people who know what they're talking about on the first call. Also, they have been supporting me with the installation and troubleshooting. That's rare in the U.S. Typically, the call center is somewhere and the agents are difficult to understand. They also need to call somebody else to help.
I integrated my existing alarm system and I had to do a bit of pre-work in terms of where the termination of the wires are and connect those to the box that interface with Link's system. Though it took a bit of time, the result was good. Furthermore, with Link, I was getting better technology for the same price. Their level of technical support is very high and that sets them apart. I recommend them.

We live in Detroit and right next to the freeway. Among security system companies, Link Interactive was a little more affordable and their representatives are easier to get a hold of. With other companies, we were put on hold forever and it just didn't work. And with those, we had to schedule a time for people to come and install the system. But with Link, we did ourselves in a couple of minutes and their reps were helpful. One of them was Justin and he was in contact with me for weeks because I was back and forth about it. Every time, he responded right away and he was able to get the price to a place that was comfortable for us.
The quality of the equipment is good but I had a hard time sticking the window and door sensors alarm. One of our doors is a little wonky, and it took a bit to get it right. But even though I held it down in the amount of time it said, it would just knock off when I opened the door. Finally, I got it in the right spot where it's still sensed by its other half but wasn't about to get knocked off. Otherwise, we're satisfied with it so far. The service does what we wanted it to do and I feel safe when I'm home alone at night because my husband has to stay in duty on a military base twice a week.

Link Interactive is the first home security system that I've used. It was good dealing with their reps. I told them what I wanted and then it was customized. They were responsive when they replaced one of the cameras that didn’t work. And some of the sticky things don't stick quite as well. I had this thing fall off the wall and triggered the alarm, and I just used some tape for it. Then the Schlage locks we bought somewhere else isn’t fully connecting to the system at all. But other than that, the smartphone features work and the cost of the system is reasonable. It’s my first house in a while, so it feels good that there's somebody monitoring it.

My boyfriend and his child were moving in and we wanted his 9-year old to feel safer and more secure in the new setting. I did a bunch of research and Link Interactive was one of the less expensive while still having the features that we wanted. The rep I worked with was knowledgeable, explained stuff and let me have the time that I asked for to make the decision without bothering me and calling. So, they were great. The installation was pretty quick and a lot easier than I had anticipated. The instructions were detailed. Link Interactive had the system all set up and all we had to do was put it on the doors.
Our experience with Link Interactive has been great so far. The system works well and I like the features of it, like sending us messages when somebody keeps the door open or uses the door. We haven’t armed it a lot but even when it’s not armed, it’s providing us a benefit. However, I hope there's a way of making the control center not need to be plugged in because trying to find a convenient location that’s also near a plug-in was the biggest challenge. Nevertheless, just telling my boyfriend's son that we have this security system helps. The kid heard the system announce the doors and garage door stuff so he knows that it works.

One of my cameras also went offline but I haven't been able to troubleshoot it with the steps online. The 800 number support is good too. I wanted to have a doorbell camera and a thermostat built into a home security system. We needed to monitor both of it from our phone so it required us to be in a bit of higher tier. I checked out Guardian, Frontpoint and ADT but I didn’t like them even from the start. Link Interactive had the best pricing and the lowest monthly rate for the features that we wanted and everyone else for the monitoring feature was at least about $55 a month. Guardian was about $400 more for the exact same system and they both use the same control panel and sensors.
It took me about three weeks to decide to go with Link and their rep, Zack, was really laid back. I sent him an email to ask him to give me a call. He gave me a call and he was not super pushy. Installation went really well too. It was very easy as long as you could do a hole in the wall and run a cord through it. When I first got the system, I didn’t realize this but they actually programmed everything to work together before it arrived at our door. They have a screen protector that sits on top of the screen so it wouldn't get scratched up. I thought the panel was scratched up and thought this was a used system, so I was very livid. I emailed Link and they told me that it was just a screen protector and to just take it off. They also told me that the equipment has been calibrated to work together, that was why all the sensors were opened. That way, when I turned the system on, everything was already synced together.
I use the Alarm.com app on my fone with the Link Interactive system and it's very smooth. The control panel’s quality is really nice too. The sensors on the doors are made of plastic and they're decent. I had an issue where the thermostat didn’t sync, so I called Link about that and the rep fixed it. Within about 15 minutes, it was completely done from start to finish. They also emailed me a copy of the letter from my insurance company, so that I could get the deduction on the homeowners. Overall, I have a really positive experience with Link Interactive and I don’t plan to go anywhere else.

The installation was easy with some phone calls to tech support, who were also good. I love the features of the system, especially the fact that I can remotely access it. The quality and the cost of the system are good, except for one thing. I’ve talked to the tech support people about the garage door tilt sensor to mount it differently than using the sticky tape because in Florida, the temperature is so hot on these garage doors that that tape does not hold. Having a home security system while living in the city was a smart idea. I had a system before but I’m paying much less in monthly fees with Link Interactive. Also, they have been as responsive, if not more and the wireless system works better than the wired one that I had. So, it’s been an improvement in every aspect. The people who helped me for the initial set up were tremendous. They spent half an hour to an hour on the phone with me helping me sort through things and sending me out things when I needed them. So, everyone who I dealt with so far has been very helpful and patient and I’ve never had to wait long on a call, on a hold or anything like that.
I had a couple of issues with the installation because I was trying to convert the wired system to see if I could just continue to use the old wired sensors. They had a device that will take those wires and then transmit them via radio signal but that didn’t work. We spent a few hours trying to get that to work, but once we decided to give up on that and just go all wireless, it was very simple. The features are very good but I would like to have the ability from the app to bypass the sensor and to see more clearly when a sensor has been bypassed on my app. Sometimes it will show it and sometimes, it won’t. It’s nice to have a security system when I leave the house to know that it’s gonna be protected from anyone making an entry without having the code. It’s not necessarily a safer system but it’s just a better value and more convenient. I’ve had this system now for over four years and overall, I’m very pleased with the service.

It's great to hear that you are enjoying your system! Thanks for being a great customer.

We moved to our first house and that was a motivation to purchase a home security system. We looked up a lot of reviews and I read some articles, and it seemed like Link Interactive got a lot of positive reviews, more so than some other companies. And then, our dealings with those working for them were really positive, so it encouraged us to keep going. We started off with Joseph and he was really thorough, and he wasn’t pushy at all. I talked to him a couple of times and asked him a lot of questions. I wasn’t even set yet in going with Link Interactive and I let him know, and he was good with that. He didn’t pressure me with anything. I talked to my husband and after that, it led us to go back to them. I also worked with David and he was amazing and patient with me. They really worked with me and I appreciated that.
My husband installed the system and he said it was self-explanatory. He had a couple of questions, but he was able to get those cleared up when he called and talked talk to Link's reps, or he would watch their videos. We were able to get the features that we wanted and we're happy with it. I like using the app on the phone as I find that really easy and convenient. With it, I can arm or disarm. I found out though that if the alarm goes off, you can't disarm it and you actually have to go to the panel which is good. We had a false alarm and I was impressed with how quickly the Link personnel reached out and contacted us. I also really like the door sensors and I can hear when the doors open, and that gives me a lot of security especially with the kids because they're all so little. Plus I like how you can program a sound for the door. The front door is different from all of the other doors, so I know if somebody went out the front door or if it's just the back door.

I did a bunch of online research and Link Interactive had good deals going on and was the best fit. I ended up just speaking to one sales representative and he told me all the options. Because we were deciding between them and a competitor he gave us quite a bit of information on why to choose them over their competitor and then he was able to get us a discount on one of the pieces of equipment as well. That was fairly helpful.
When the guy from Link discussed the packages, we ended up getting a doorbell camera and it ended up not being as easy to integrate with our current doorbell as we had anticipated. So we have to return it. He made it seem like it was a plug and play type of thing. He didn’t really explain. He made it seem like a lot more simple than it actually ended up. But that was the only negative thing I have to say. Other than this doorbell camera which just ended up not being the right fit for what we had in place the basic stuff that they gave us were really easy to install. And everything is pretty good quality. Everything seems to be working just fine. It helps especially when we’re away for longer periods of time. I have family members who have used other security systems and that was what we compared Link to. Link’s upfront cost was a bit lower and the monthly cost was also reasonable for the monitoring portion so we chose it as our home security system. The set-up of the system was pretty simple. We like the features in our system and one of the reasons we went with Link was because they had outdoor cameras that have the motion detection which we wanted because we wanna see if somebody is coming up to the door and be alerted. A lot of the other home security systems don’t offer anything other than interior cameras. So far, the quality of Link's equipment is great.
We also use the smartphone features every day. We love it because we remember to set the alarm. Now, we feel much better since having Link as we have a lot of people kicking in carport doors in my neighborhood. We have something that we’d be able to look at the video of the driveway and we’d be able to get notified if somebody was at the door and if any of the doors opened. However, we got surprised on a $5 fee on our monthly bill for the monitoring service because of the county that we live in. We were told by the company that we would need to let the county that we live in know that we added the monitoring part. It would be good if Link Interactive would let customers know that stuff ahead of time.

Prior to getting Link Interactive, we had a different provider and their system was very dated and they didn't offer any home automation. Also, their processes were not always followed, so we had several false alarms and they would call the contacts out of order. Instead of calling our home phone first and then our cell phones, they'd call the secondary and tertiary contact. So, my mother-in-law was freaking out why she was getting a call. When we got in touch with Link Interactive, they answered all the technical questions and didn't try to oversell me on anything. They were very honest and upfront, too. The guy I talked to said that I could file the parts individually or however I wanted it, and I ended up buying a package.
The installation was pretty straightforward. I went through some of the tutorials online and all the documentation that was in the unit. I had a few questions which they were able to answer quickly. The only thing that has been a concern is I ordered a doorbell camera with the bronze face and all they had was the silver face which doesn't match our decor on the outside. The bronze face camera was on back order and I still haven't received it yet. They told me to keep the one they sent and use it. When they get the new one in, they will ship it and swap it out.
I use the smartphone features all the time. We had some packages that were stolen, so I check the doorbell when packages are delivered. When packages or people arrive at the door, the doorbell is triggered and I can see and talk to them if I want to and view what's there. That's also part of the reason why we started looking at a new system. All Monitronics or Brinks offered was the nest system which didn't have a good integration and we use a lot of Amazon products. Link's cost is fair, too. Cheaper is always better, but with all the services I'm getting from it, it is less a month than what I was paying with our old system and didn't get nearly the amount of features.
The service is great and I've been pretty happy with the security system's features, but Link may be a little bit behind on the technology. Their camera can't easily identify certain cars or their license plate at all, so I'd like something with a higher resolution. I got to be able to read the license plates and simply identifying the cars doesn't really help too much. Other than that, I have recommended them to a few people. A buddy of mine just bought a vacation home and I told him to take a look at it and he's into home automation stuff, too.

It’s not quite a plug and play but it has some features that I can't get with ADT easily. Most of my interactions with Link’s customer service had been through email and it was self-explanatory so setting the system up was easy. I installed the cameras, the control panel and the motion sensors. It was pretty straightforward and then logging on to the account wasn't too difficult either.
The system is currently at my rental house and I like the camera and the fact that they are action camera. They're still not cheap to get but seemed to be pretty good. But I would like to see if I can get the notification feature working unlike with ADT that if someone is in front of the house, the system doesn’t send me any notifications. It should be a feature that should be available to see people then notify me because I like to get a heads up if someone is out in front of my door before opening the door.
Also, I use Link’s smartphone feature to activate the system. There's another feature I haven't used and I have to set up. That’s the geo-fencing or whenever I come up, the system will shut itself off if it recognizes my phone. Other than that, Link’s cost is roughly the same but commitment might be a little less with Link so it might end up being cheaper in the long run.

Happy to have you as a customer. Thanks for the review!

I called Link Interactive and the guy was cordial and answered all the questions that I was asking and told me the capability of the equipment. I got the security system and there could have been other stuff in the installation instructions that would have been more clear. But after calling and talking with them a couple of times, it got all straightened up good. I got two motion sensors, which are all I needed, but I may have to put a camera. The equipment is working fine and every time somebody gets close, it goes off and tells me. What I was looking for is to make sure that I knew when the people are coming and going out of my hangar and so far, so good.

Thanks for your feedback. Thanks for being a valued customer!

I had a friend who referred Link Interactive to me and he was also the one who installed it. For a fair price, I have every feature offered in my system and I'm fine with it. In addition, their customer service reps are all nice. All in all, I had a good experience with Link and I like them.

We just moved into a house so getting a home security system was one of the first things I wanted to check off our list. I wanted my system to be Alarm.com and I have a couple friends that work there so, I was familiar with their good software and technology and they recommended Link Interactive. I only talked to one other company but Link had a DIY set up and I had a good customer service experience. Ninna, the sales rep, was great and fantastic which made me feel good about the company and everyone has been responsive and reachable. If I had more serious problems, which I've had, unfortunately with the doorbell camera, they were very accommodating so I got my free replacement that they shipped earlier this week.
Most of the installation was flawless minus the doorbell camera. I appreciate having a well shot YouTube videos with clear instructions. It was nice and helpful to have video, especially with DIY, instead of just reading from a piece of paper. When things were a little more complicated like when I was setting out the doorbell camera, we originally had a digital time which made things complicated. Then I found out through talking with customer service that I needed an adaptor and then I switched the doorbell chime to a mechanical just to make the whole process simpler, which was definitely the best solution. Even my wife was able to help out even though she was not very technical.
Link Interactive was good for the price point. I could pay for something a little more expensive and get something that's polished and well-crafted like a Master but I don't need that level of polished right now. And I like that I have a good company with a good reputation behind it all. It's nice that it's very simple, but offers a lot of proper tools and notifications like automated things for people who wanna do that. But upfront, you can stick to the default settings which are very helpful. I'm a user-experience designer for a living so I look at this stuff very critically and I appreciate when things are designed well.
We don't have to worry about things at night or if we're gone. We are in the neighborhood that’s transitioning. In the past, it was known to have a higher crime rate but our particular street and immediate area is just about fine in that area. Still, having the security system helps us, feel a little a lot more home and not have to worry especially with a nice house like ours. It's been pretty great overall.

Thanks so much for sharing your feedback and please let us know if you ever need anything.

We had a Link Interactive home security system before but we got flooded. The Link reps were all good, so I decided to buy again through them. They gave me a package where I could save some money which was really nice. I had to ask for that package but they were very helpful with it. Last time, my husband set the system up and every time he called in, Link walked him through it and gave him details. This time, I called in and they were very patient and walked me through the installation. My contractor had a question about the tilt mechanism. He wasn't sure he understood that and Link went through a few times with him and each time, they did a good job.
The system’s features are good but I have a problem right now. Out of the blue, the back door indicated it was offline yesterday afternoon. Nothing had happened to it. Nobody opened or closed it even. There's something wrong with the sensor or how it's aligned. It worked for a long time and then all of a sudden it’s offline. Also, I still haven't figured out the geofence feature wherein when I get close, the system changes. I tried clicking around and I couldn't get it to work out.
Plus, I tried to work the thermostat on my own and I couldn’t. It turned out that I needed to call in and somebody would set it up. The thermostat should have something on it that says to call a certain number to set it up. The smartphone feature is very cool though. Its interface is a little quirky but I worked it out. The system is a good value. I’m paying $30 a month and I know Link Interactive is there and when I ask them a question, they’ll answer it. They seem knowledgeable and I have recommended them.

Thank you for your recommendation and for sharing your experience with us!

Link Interactive’s option was better than the other company that I was looking at and the sales rep was helpful and nice to me. I like the smartphone features I've used so far but I needed to have a few more features than they were offering in a particular package.

Happy to have you as a customer. Thanks for the review!

I was browsing through the internet and I read a couple of articles. And I was very convinced of what the Link Interactive rep was talking about. He was very knowledgeable and very helpful and he had a lot to do with my decision to go with them. I'm very black and white with the instructions. The equipment was gonna have to be put in a certain way so I always tried to go exactly the way the instructions said. But they don't always work, like the door might not be at the same level as the frame. So I had to play with the instruction as far as installing the sensors. But after the installation, I just used my cellphone and then I called in if there were any issues.
The features offered in my system were great and it's all I need. It's interactive and I've been able to manage it from my phone. That’s very helpful nowadays and I definitely love it. The systems from the other companies are all around the same price point. But from what I've seen and I compared about 10 of the different leading systems that are out there, Link Interactive is great. However, I found the front yard placard to be too big to my liking. It takes away from the aesthetic of the front of the house. But other than that, everything about my experience with Link Interactive is good.

Thanks for you feedback. Glad the install went smoothly and you are enjoying the app. Please let us know if you ever need anything

I used to have a basic, unmonitored security system and now I have a monitored one through Link Interactive. I purchased all the equipment myself and Link Interactive provides the services for me. I had good dealings with their people and I haven't had to call them back since I purchased the service, which is a good thing. And with what I use the system for, it does everything I need it to.

Glad to see you got all the help you needed, and please let us know if you ever need anything else!
