June 27th: Claim is initiated. June 30th: A technician came home and said the dishwasher needs to be replaced. June 2nd: Liberty tells me that they cannot reach out the technician and I need to wait. I asked them to send another local technician, they said they put that request on my account and will call me back on July5th. July 5th: No calls came from liberty, neither a new technician assigned, nor the previous diagnosis received. I called Liberty the same afternoon and was told the same story, they will assign a new technician and I should expect a call the same day July 5th by 10 pm dispatcher team's closing time. No calls has been received.
July 6th: Talked to another agent named Chris, he didn’t even see any notes, marks whatsoever in my account so I made all those calls and chats for no reason for days. I explained him and send him the previous screenshots. He was speechless for 10 minutes (no exaggeration from 11:04-11:14). His solution was to wait for the DIAGNOSIS like we haven’t waited for a week. I requested cancelation and waiting for an account manager to call me back to cancel my own account and issue refund.
The salesperson tells all the lies that there is unlimited amount of claims you can submit, there is no limit, they have great customer service, they will either fix or replace in 2-3 business days, except waiting for the parts yet we are still waiting for the diagnosis for a week and I cannot even cancel the policy and get my refund. DO YOURSELVES A FAVOR and STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!! P.S. I could replace the dishwasher 3 times with the money that I have paid to Liberty.

Update: READ. I am, in my opinion, being extorted (for lack of a better word) to amend reviews to be positive and remove my BBB complaint. I am being promised hundreds more if I provide the review as specified by their compliance department - 5 stars, which is an opinion I’m told I SHOULD hold at this point. I’ve debated over the past few hours about posting this. As a result of it, I suspect I will be threatened and begged to removed this update. I feel responsible to make other consumers aware that the reviews and BBB status you see may be heavily influenced by the company REQUIRING a dissatisfied customer sign a settlement agreement within 48 hours to receive their refund that they have already been told they are entitled to.
Yesterday I spoke to Mariam in compliance and I was told I would receive an enhanced refund, just keep an eye out for the email. There were no strings attached at this time and I was under the impression that it would be a 100% refund to make up for the awful experience I’ve received. Mind you, this is a week after my refund was already supposed to be issued - which means that THEY have breached their contract that I never signed and was never provided. Today, I received her email.
I was told to call/provide a time for a call to discuss the enhanced refund. I was then told I could receive a full refund ONLY if I amend my BBB complaint to be positively resolved and my Google review to be 5 stars. I was told the opinion I should have should now be positive. I expressed that this was unethical and felt like extortion as they are effectively withholding my refund for over a week now and demanding I comply to lying about my experience. I was assured it was not because I should just provide a positive review since I’m getting my refund. I explained that I would be lying to consumers, and I would not do this. I was argued with and told what amounts to “sign the settlement, change the review, get the refund.”
No. That’s unacceptable. It’s unethical. It’s bad business. This is a major selling point for them - that they have all of these positive reviews and BBB profile. As far as I can determine, it’s also illegal per the FTC (and many other government sites describing consumer protection laws) to withhold a valid refund or deny a valid refund with contingencies relating to reviews. I have now reported this behavior to the FTC, NY DFS, and will be filing complaints with the AG offices of my state and New York. I will be updating them as more information comes in.
The funniest thing is, and I told them this, if they would have just given me my refund and asked me to update my review to express the new events that have transpired, I would have. I probably would have bumped it to 3 stars, since, in the end, I got my refund. Being refunded and encountering one person who provides decent customer service doesn’t excuse the rest of my experience, and my review should reflect that. Just give me my refund Liberty. Mail the check for $2652.43 and let me go on my way. This has involved hours of my time and it’s unacceptable.
If you’ve read this far, I hope you don’t fall for this. I hope you read reviews for Liberty with more scrutiny. I may be the first they’ve done this to, but I would be surprised. In fact, now that I dig through reviews across platforms, I see that this has occurred before. Lied to me about the coverage to get me to sign up for a 5 year plan, failed to provide the terms of the contract, provided atrocious customer service, has no way of escalating an issue, extremely rude reps when you call in, etc etc etc. I could go on for an hour and write a thesis about how this company has failed on every promise provided. I just want the refund that was supposed to be issued a week ago when I was promised a follow up call (again) that didn’t come (again).

I had a plumbing leak on a Thursday and I didn’t hear from Liberty in 24 hours. So I had to put things under to hold it and then went back and emptied it. On Monday, I called them because I hadn’t heard from them. I asked for the manager and they gave me this lady that was really nice. She said, “Oh, let me see if I can get someone to pick it up.” She told me they could get someone by tomorrow. But told her I needed it tonight. So she called me back, and she had somebody to come that evening at 6:00. It was all positive after that. She also sent me an apology. Once I got ahold of somebody, Liberty was right on it and they took care of it. The people I worked with were really good. They fixed it and did a good job. They had to replace something inside the commode, and the pipe and the line to it.

When the rep called, he was well-spoken and gave confidence talking about them being the best. Signing up was very easy because when I agreed to it, they sent me an email back and forth and I paid them the 550 for the year. The warranty is supposed to cover just about everything in the house.

Customer service did a great job. The signup process was very easy. Somebody helped me on the phone. I gave them my debit card information and they always just take out what's due on the date it's due. But I canceled my policy because I couldn't afford it anymore. Prices just keep going up everywhere and it was something I didn't have to have. A fella called me on the phone and said that they would waive the June payment, and if by July, I could afford to do the policy, then I'd be reinstated.

My experience was horrible. I called them twice for a repair that never got taken care of. And they charged me $80 every time I call them. I turned them in to the Better Business Bureau and I cancelled them. My credit card is still trying to battle about the 80 bucks.

I tried to cancel the other company that I'm with and I was expecting money back to be able to apply it toward Liberty, but they refused to do that. It would cost me more to cancel than to continue and finish out the year. I didn't realize my warranty is good until 10/23. When I called Liberty back, they wouldn't return my $400 deposit. They said, “It's been over seven days. We can't refund the total amount. We're gonna give you x amount back and then apply the remainder” toward a home warranty plan once mine expires. I was not real happy with that part of the situation, because it was 10 days out from talking to somebody about it when I finally got ahold of Choice Home Warranty.

Liberty scheduled to come to fix a certain appliance and they took the money but never showed up or even called. I don't know how people can do that. They returned my money, but I had to sign up with another company to get the appliance fixed. I cancelled Liberty three days ago.

The sales rep could have used some additional training so that he can inform clients of the proper information. The questions I asked were very specific around how the claims work for me and how I would go about doing it. When I put in a claim, Liberty couldn't take care of it. There was no point of me having the service if they can't take care of an appliance in my home. If they could provide people who work for them the proper training so that they can inform people appropriately, they could be a standup company.

I got a quote from one of the reps, and when I called back to actually sign up, I was told they weren’t able to transfer me to the rep that I was originally talking to. The terms were not the same as what had been discussed on the initial call with the first rep that I went over everything with. The original per call service was $75 and when I got the contract, it said $150. I wasn't really happy about that.

I was with Fidelity Home Warranty, which I had difficulties with. When I contacted Liberty, they offered me a better deal, and I went with them. There was an opportunity that if I paid upfront, I got additional coverage, and I had the funds to do so. Liberty was great, and signup was professional and easy. I've recommend them to six other people, and five of them joined.

The repairman was on time which was wonderful so we didn't have to wait around for weeks like we did with our previous home warranty company, they sucked!. He quickly found the issue, had the part on him, and replaced it. He called on Liberty to get approval and they gave it to him in minutes, he said he works with them frequently and they’re very generous with their claims payouts. Our last company was a nightmare, we waited weeks for payouts and approvals, this was a totally different type of experience. Great service. I highly recommend Liberty Home Guard.

Liberty Home Guard offers the best coverage. Yes they may be more expensive than the competition but in my opinion that is still a bargain. The other home warranty companies spend more effort trying to figure out how to get out of providing for their customers when, at least based on my experience, Liberty Home Guard makes an extra effort for its customers. For example, we even had a pre-existing issue that we knew was not covered, and still Liberty went and covered 80% of the cost to repair our AC system. Their difference in attitude is why I simply can not recommend them enough.

I have used almost every single home warranty company in the USA, and this is the WORST. They have arbitrary caps on service calls, do not cover labor costs, and their contract cancellation guarantee is a total scam. I have never been this upset over a company in my life.

Anny called me to follow up on my claim. At first she told me that the claim was not covered and she was patient enough to walk me through my policy. She was very knowledgeable and professional and she really cares. The reason I know she cares is even though after she told me that the resolution was uncovered, and I accepted it, of her own accord she offered to speak with her supervisor and see if she can get me a courtesy payout. After speaking with her supervisor, she was able to get me an additional $500 towards the claim, saving me half the cost of the claim.

I could not be happier with the serviceperson that Liberty sent our way. Arrived exactly on time and was tenacious at finding out the root cause of the electrical issue. He spent two hours troubleshooting thoroughly, taking things apart and putting it together and would not relent until he found the source of the noise. Ultimately he changed a valve and a tube and the thing works as if it were day one.

We had an active leak and John and Julia at the Liberty team were very helpful. John helped us connect with a supervisor, Julia who made sure to have a plumber at our house within the next 3 hours. She was very nice and helped walk us through how to handle, shutting off our water and laying towels down where the water pooled. After the plumber fixed the issue (during that first visit by the way), Julia went on to explain all the terms and conditions that apply through our warranty and followed up the next day to ensure that the work was done properly. John then helped us get an extra $250 towards the claim even though that was beyond our coverage. We are very happy with such personable customer service.

This company has sales people that tell you whatever you need to hear and lies and misleads to just sell a policy. They take your money, don’t give you actual policy which is different than promised till days after charging your card and from there everything told to me was a lie. I had one claim with them and it took 10 days to complete while I had a leak from assigning a company that was not at all in the field of what I needed then a tech that missed two set apts then they take over a day to even look at and approve your claim and that's when you find out there is a $250 set limit on add ons which was actually not even in contract they enforce once you need to use it and once I try and cancel because of the fraud and lies and horrible service they charge you for your claim and additional fees like another service fee.
They didn't pay to contractor. When I asked him truth but want you to pay more to cancel and still as of right now I have not gotten my money I paid in advance for a policy I canceled and want me to sign something first saying I will not share anything online or to anyone else about them or their company and procedures and service to keep others from knowing. Complete ** company trying to just hope people don’t have claims and they just keep people's money and no one finds out how shady they are. DO NOT PURCHASE. I left another company for this one telling me my pool heating pump was specifically covered to also find out that was complete lie. They say what they need to in order to take your money!

Liberty Home Guard is an exceptional company. The application for the home warranty was really easy. The representative was extremely friendly and answered any questions that I had regarding the home warranty. He was the one that also informed me of the option of having a five-year warranty. The technicians that they have contracts with, so far have been extremely friendly and professional.
Three weeks ago, my garbage disposal went out. I put in the order and they processed the order and I got a new garbage disposal within two days. The guy that was coming out to install it called me to let me know who he was and gave me his phone number. I told him that they had to order the garbage disposal. He said as soon as they get them, that I should get a call from Lowe's because that was who they had this order through. When it came in, I got a phone call from Lowe's saying that the garbage disposal was in. I called the technician. He was out that afternoon and did the install. He was very friendly and professional. He let me know exactly when to expect him. In fact, he had cut one of the other installs. It didn't take as long as he thought so he got to my work faster than he had anticipated. It took about 30 minutes and it was done.

It is summer and my AC has been broken for more than 3 weeks. It still hasn't been fixed. The first repair person didn't even show up. I have to call them every few days. I'm told that different people are reviewing the claim.

The first claim we filed took them close to no time, while the second one took them two weeks. For the first claim the technician was great and he went over the problem in detail and explained things that needed to be done to avoid this issue in the future. The second claim did not go smooth and the technician rescheduled on us 3 times! That said, I’m writing them a positive review because they credited my service call fee and my second claim was only on my icemaker and during August which I know is a difficult time to get technicians. I plan to update this review if my third claim does not go well.

As soon as we submitted our claim, we got a text message notification that the service provider will be arriving early the next morning. Lauren did a wonderful job getting the service provider fitted into our daily schedule as requested. The next morning he came as promised and inspected the problem with our drains. The way Liberty talked to me was very professional. I signed up with them because number one, they were courteous. Number two, everything that was under the umbrella was what I needed to keep myself going. I have already told a couple of people in my neighborhood that Liberty seems to be a good home warranty program and that's because of the service they gave me when I first called.

I’ve submitted four claims throughout the last year, and while not perfect, overall I am satisfied and saved more than double what I’ve spent with them. They are a company that does not oversell itself. I’ve found that with home warranties (like with most industries) you get exactly what you pay for. Liberty Home Guard’s pricing is definitely on the higher end but 100% the customer service is of a higher quality. If you are looking for a dependable home warranty company to work with, I recommend them!

A week ago I reported that my AC is out. Supposedly three days later I was assigned a technician (not an appointment). He never called, was unresponsive to my call and text. So I called again, was told she will call me back with the new technician details. A day later no word. Called again and was told that it is a three-day weekend and we might not have technician. The bottom line it has been a week and no one has inspected my AC let alone fix it.

Has taken over 3 weeks and my AC claim still has not been resolved. Customer service reps don’t know company policies and blame any lag issues in technicians when they are not following up to resolve open claims. Have heard it will be resolved in 24/48 business hours going on 3 weeks now. Have to call them every day because they will not follow up at all. Have also had to put out an extra 100 dollars to bring in an independent tech I had to find because there’s did not give a “complete” diagnosis. Will do anything to wear you down and give up on claim so they don’t have to give any money back to their policyholders. Learned my lesson!

My washing machine was making a lot of noise. Liberty sent me a very knowledgeable young man who gave it some life. He was very polite and courteous. It wasn't a hassle. I didn't have to wait a long time to get the work done.

Liberty Home Guard’s service has been great, so far. They got right back to me when I called to get information about it. They extended the normal service contract out ‘cause I paid cash for the whole thing to get it out of the way instead of a monthly thing. I had a problem with my hot water heater and they came out and reset it. Then two weeks later, after I realized that that wasn't fixed, called them, and they sent someone right back out. They fixed it and haven’t had any problem since. The tech was a very nice gentleman and polite, too. Did his business and was out of here. I'd definitely recommend Liberty Home Guard.

Six weeks after moving into our new home, our Oven, Dishwasher, and Refrigerator all broke. They had the oven fixed the next day, the Dishwasher the day after and while the refrigerator did take a while–8 days, Liberty Home Guard covered all 3 of these repairs in full. Also they did warn us ahead of time that the refrigerator fix may be delayed due to a part being backordered and logistically difficult to get so I do commend them for clear communication and alignment of expectations. In summary, I am very satisfied with the way they handled all these claims and would definitely recommend this company to others!

I and my best friend moved together, buying homes next door to one another. My best friend did the home warranty research and came back with Liberty. We’ve both had about 10 claims in total over the year and while she had one experience that resulted in delays (4 weeks to get her oven replaced), my claims all went smoothly. Together we estimate we’ve saved over $4,800 dollars over the year. Which is why I am writing this review.

We have two policies with Liberty Home Guard. One for our condo and another for our getaway home that is out of state and that we Airbnb frequently. We’ve had one claim on our condo for our air conditioning system and seven claims for our Airbnb (5 appliances and 2 plumbing). After this last, 7th claim with our Airbnb I decided to write this review. We had an active leak and were expecting guests to arrive later the next day. I forget who I spoke with but a supervisor got on the line to ensure not only that a plumber would arrive asap but also that they had contractors available to deal with any water damage. Thankfully the plumber arrived two hours later, and the water damage was not so bad so in addition to fixing the leak in that trip, he went ahead and repaired the water damage. I ended up saving $400 as well thanks to the policy with Liberty Home Guard. They’ve been more like a property manager than a home warranty company for us.

I am not a happy customer. The quality of customer service and follow-up is terrible. My warranty covers my air condition; however, they want me to make a payment of 5000 and Liberty Home Guard make a contribution of 1,102 dollars in order for the repairs to be fixed. This is not a warranty, it is a gimmick! How convenient! Liberty claims to be number one in quality service, however their customer satisfaction in my experience is poor quality. Quality service is meeting and exceeding customer's expectations.
Liberty has not met my expectations or exceeded my expectations. In my view, they take advantage of the consumer. The service is terrible. I am a paying customer and have been a long-time customer and the one time I call I get the runaround and no assistance. Liberty I hope you don't treat all your customers like this. IF you treat others with such poor service, I am going to do my best to address this issue so I would be the last faithful paying customer you abuse.

My oven broke 3 days before I was hosting friends and family and I was super nervous debating whether to order in or not. We decided that since we needed to call Liberty Home Guard anyway, we’d call and get their take. I spoke with Lorraine who offered to see if any technicians were in our area. She said there weren’t any currently but later today if we were available she did have one repair technician she could reroute and would arrive between 5-7pm. She also helped us assess whether the issue was fixable and if it would be fixed in one visit.
Based on her assessment we decided to further wait until the technician arrived to properly diagnose the issue prior to ordering the catering. The technician arrived and thankfully was able to fix the issue then and there. While it was a close call, I’m happy I had Liberty and Lorraine standing behind me every step of the way. And I can’t even begin to express what a night and day difference this is from my prior home warranty company.

I filed a claim on April the 19th and they immediately sent a technician a couple of days later, which I was thrilled about. The refrigerator was not making ice so the technician checked it out and he said that the motor that was inside the icemaker needed to be replaced. He was able to check everything out and said that he would go back and give it to his company and then, they will get in contact with Liberty. I have not heard anything from Liberty so yesterday, I called them and I explained that no one had come out or my case is still pending, and I needed to know why. The rep put me on hold and when he came back, he said he would have someone call me. I asked if they would call me today and he said yes. But it never happened.
I called the technician from Mr. Appliance and I spoke to the lady who was in the office. She said that she sent Liberty all my information last Friday and that they were lying if they said that they have not received the information because she sent it to them herself. She said that she would check back with me but she didn't. I don't know what's going on with the claim right now. I have to go back online and see if anybody did anything. I pay $75 a month for the service and I'm not happy.
I'm not satisfied with Liberty Home Guard. This is a second claim I have with them. The technician came and said that the freezer door was off the track. He put it back on track and I haven't had that problem with the frost in the freezer anymore and I was fine with that. But I'm not fine with waiting this long because the icemaker is not working. And all they had to do was order the part. It’s frustrating because they take out of my bank account $75 every month, on time. So I'm going online to check again and then, I'm going to call back Liberty to find out why they didn't call me back yesterday and to find out if they got that information.

I’ve actually had such good experiences with Liberty that I decided to call them for some advice about a home improvement project we were doing, building a guest unit on top of the garage. They connected me with their procurement experts who helped me decide which appliances to use in the unit and steered me towards a great ductless heating system. I’ve been a customer of Liberty Home Guard for the past 3 years. 80% of my claims have been positive, with the service being provided quickly and coverage being strong. The remaining have been either neutral or negative. I have to say that in the beginning of my coverage was when I had most of the neutral or negative experience with claims taking longer (about 3 weeks) than I would have liked and the savings not being great. I decided to stick it out with them and they’ve been on a positive trajectory since my first year and the experiences keep improving. We recently had them replace our heating/HVAC system this winter and while it took them a while (also about 3 weeks), we ended up saving $1,800 on the replacement.

I bought a 3 year home warranty on 6/9/21. I used it for the first time on 4/19/22. My AC went out. A technician finally came out and said the compressor was bad. The unit is only 5 yrs old so the compressor is still under warranty. The technician said someone from LHG would be contacting me within 24 to 48 hrs. I still have not heard from anyone and it is 4/25. I have contacting them today to get them to refund the money I spent on the 3 yr warranty and they said someone would contact me within the hour. It has now been 3 hrs since I called and no one has contacted me yet. Not about the repair or the refund for the warranty I am not getting. They are a joke. I think they are a scam and that they take your money and never do anything.

My clothes dryer caught fire. We were very lucky that it didn’t spread but we smelled smoke in the basement and used our fire extinguisher to put it out. I called Liberty to see what they could do for the dryer replacement, and without burying me in red-tape ordered a new dryer for me there on that call (after going through the different options with me). The rep then went ahead and helped me source a restoration company to repair the damage.

LHG had a technician assigned to our home within 45 minutes of our claim being logged in the portal. The technician that they did assign arrived just 5 minutes late and prepared with spare replacement parts for our LG brand washing machine. As a result he was able to fix the problem then and there he told us. I liked the fact that they covered almost all of my appliances and that there was a warranty on the service. If I didn’t like the service, I had an option. I also liked the fact that if I liked Liberty after my first experience with them, I could then upgrade to an annual service, which was my original intent.

I like the peace of mind in case something happens. I also like their pricing and their coverages. We've had one claim with them. The toilet was not going down all the way. The person that they assigned it to was out the next day. It was a really good process. It's been a good experience so far.

I like their pricing. When I signed up, it was a good 15% less. Plus, I was able to pay upfront and they gave me more of a discount. I've used them once. It was an issue with the dryer. There was a bad wire in the back of it. They had to replace three parts for it. The tech was awesome. So far, so good.

We used Liberty for the first year and decided to stick with them. I used them once and it was a very positive experience. The claim process was painless. I called them and after paying the fee, they set up a contractor to contact me ASAP. The contractor was top-notch and the next day, I had service. I had experiences with bad contractors elsewhere and this wasn't the case with Liberty, so I'm satisfied. In fact, I just renewed with them about two weeks ago. They were there when I needed them.

I was really confused when my last claim got denied (the four before that were all covered). I spoke with Kyle who calmly and clearly explained to me the terms of coverage and why my faucet leak fell outside the coverage. He then offered, of his own accord to speak with his manager to see if there was a way to get me an increased payout, which they did saving me $100 on my faucet fix/replacement. While not ideal, I understand now why it wasn’t covered as per standard and I do appreciate the extra effort Kyle made on my behalf.

Our panel on our Subzero refrigerator fell off. We submitted the claim via the portal and a rep reached out immediately. She did tell us that while panels are not covered as per standard, that she’d like to get one of their technicians out to the home to assess the refrigerator and see if he could help. Which, home warranty company have you ever heard of actually wants to take on the work for non covered claims? That initiative alone had me appreciative. Then when the tech came and was able to reinstall the panel in that visit I became even happier. Finally when I found out Liberty Home Guard would be covering the cost as a courtesy, I was floored by the seamlessness and service level in the experience.

I’ve recommended LHG to my neighbors who purchased. After the fact, my account manager Sean told me that there’s a ‘refer a friend’ program that I can take advantage of and get some sort of credit for each of my neighbors that have signed up. However, because they already signed up, I had to call their customer service team to see if there was a way to still get the rewards. I spoke with Lauren who ended up helping me retroactively claim those rewards. It’s nice to finally work with a home warranty company that cares about transparency and clear communication.

The rep that I dealt with was friendly and knowledgeable. But I don't love when companies employ the tactic of, “I can make you this offer now, but if you don't say yes now, then the offer goes away.” That's very common but that was the tactic that was employed by the Liberty rep. I said no a couple of times and so the rep kept making the deal a little sweeter. But we ultimately got a good deal. The only thing I noticed after I signed up that was disappointing was that I discovered in some of their fine print that certain kinds of appliances that they consider high-end require an additional premium. Our dishwasher is one of them. But that additional premium was $500 over the life of the plan so that's almost the value of the new dishwasher so I didn't have it.

My son put his toy cars in the washing machine, which of course caused it to break. I called Liberty and the rep Abraham explained to me that this was not covered because it wasn’t normal wear and tear. I began to get frustrated but then Abraham explained that Liberty would still be happy to deal with the claim and project manage it for me and he may be able to submit a request for a courtesy payout, which he did. When it was all said and done, the washing machine was fixed in three days and I only had to pay half the $150 to fix the issue.

The reps offered other plans when I applied but I got what I wanted. I got coverage on the dishwasher, dryer and the refrigerator. It was perfect when I filed a claim. The representative was helpful and even the technician that went out to fix the problem was good.

They’ve been quick to respond to every single claim I’ve made (all through their portal). I get a call within the hour and a service provider is at my house within the next two days, each time. My latest claim was a leaking master shower head and while the plumber was over, he actually helped me with an issue I was having with a ceiling fan in the same bathroom. I was not charged extra for it and am happy that Liberty Home Guard uses service providers that care about the customer and are willing to go the extra mile to help them.

I had bad experiences with my previous home warranty company so I decided to switch. Because my last home warranty was expiring, the sales rep Noah was able to get the start date expedited. A week after my coverage with Liberty Home Guard began I had an issue with my heating system. I thought Liberty Home Guard would make me jump through hoops like having to submit maintenance records but Carlos called me from their customer service team and informed me that 90% of the claim was covered. I only had to come out of pocket an additional $40. The entire issue was resolved in 3 days also. I’m definitely happy I switched to Liberty Home Guard.

Even though it wasn’t broken, we wanted to replace our dishwasher. Jake and George from Liberty said that is no issue and that Liberty Home Guard has a program just for these types of occurrences to help us save on replacement of our own initiative. We decided on a unit (I saved $350 on the purchase price), and they coordinated installation with one of their own technicians (I saved another $175 on the labor). We called on a Monday and the Job was done that Friday. The technician, Pete, installed the appliance and made sure to leave the area clean after he was done. Thank you so much Liberty!

I dealt with Carlos over the phone and he was very prompt in getting me replacement options for our oven since we did not want to repair it and were hoping to just get a new one. Carlos was able to get us an even higher amount than what it would have cost to repair the oven and he got us available replacement options that day. We ended up choosing a higher-end oven for replacement, so when it was all said and done, we saved about $1,000 on this oven replacement. That is more than twice what we spent on the actual policy by the way. Needless to say that we are very satisfied. Thank you Liberty and thank you Carlos!

Our lights kept flickering in the guest bedroom so we went ahead and logged a claim in our customer portal. We then, like not even five minutes after, received a call from Gabriela in customer service who helped gather a few more details and outlined the process for us. She asked in how long a timeframe we needed this issue fixed, and explained that with more time, they may be able to save us more money. We told her no rush and Gabriela was able to get us our service call fee back as a result of them being able to reroute a technician who would be in our area next week. The technician was at our house 4 days later and fixed the problem in that visit. I’m very happy with the process and how clearly Liberty Home Guard communicates.

The contractors they send are organized and come prepared. There has not been a single issue that was not taken care of properly IN THE FIRST VISIT! The customer service team does an outstanding job handling claims promptly. I’ve had many home warranty companies in the past and I think the next best one would fix my issue on the 3rd or 4th trip on average. Keep it up Liberty!

I've had the two claims with Liberty. They've taken care of both claims. They don't cover as much as my other warranty company. But it's half the price. You also have to pay when they come. But their process was very easy. The claim that I had at my house, I paid my $70 for them to come. The company found the leak and painted it with some white stuff. They’re supposed to come back and paint the wall of where the damage was. But they never came back. They charged me three times for doing the work. I already paid Liberty Home Guard. I had to call my charge card and have them take them off my charge card. I was going back and forth for over two months, where they were charging me for a service when I already paid Liberty Home Guard.
Now, in the meantime, I noticed that my fireplace wasn't working. I called Liberty. It wasn't under my plan. Needed to be fixed, so since that company was already in my house, they checked out the fireplace. They knew what I needed. They ordered a fireplace. But because I had so many billing problems with them, because they kept telling me that it was a billing problem, I used a different charge card to pay for the fireplace. I called in January to get everything settled. They were on vacation and couldn't come. Called again mid-January, left a text message several times. Today, I said I gotta call them. I looked up, I had the number on my phone, and it's been disconnected. I went back to my charge card to get their number again and that number’s been disconnected. It's not Liberty. But this company is not so good.

My furnace wouldn't stay lit. We knew right when we woke up that morning something was wrong and I called Liberty. By 7:30 that morning, they had somebody out. By 8:00, it was fixed. My furnace claim was excellent. But with my last claim, it was the complete opposite of how my furnace went. I called in for my refrigerator a week ago. They took my $65. I got my email from them, never heard anything. Three days later, I called them. I said, "You guys are supposed to have someone here in 48 hours." They said, "We'll get on it right away." Later on that day then, I had somebody saying that they could come out. That was on a Friday afternoon. But, he didn't come till today.
The tech looked at it and told me, "Liberty doesn't open till 10:00 to authorize this. I'm gonna leave." I said, "I took off this morning so you could fix my fridge." He said nothing he could do. So, I called Liberty and after about five minutes on hold, I talked to the authorized department. He said, "No, that's not right." I gave him the number to the technician that had just left and Liberty called him and got him back out here. But when Liberty works, it works excellent and it's very easy. I've been telling everybody they should get Liberty. When you live in an older home, it's a no-brainer.

The application was extremely easy, and they take care of their seniors very well, including a senior discount and lock my grandparents into a rate for many years. That was a bonus of choosing Liberty Home Guard. Also, their customer service is exceptional. And they're very quick at getting us what we need. I like the convenience of being able to call somebody, and guaranteed service within 48 hours, and my grandparents don’t have to go without. I just log in online and submit a claim, and put in what I need. It's very user-friendly. The techs are very knowledgeable and friendly. And they got here very quickly. They're very personal, too.

We were shopping for a new home warranty after moving. Noah ** from LHG called us and gave us an estimate. The agent said that if we tried a claim and did not like it we would be given 100% of our money back. Noah ** was the primary agent. I attempted to cancel on the 30th day of the policy and NOAH called me and said "File a claim and If you don't like it, cancel and you will get all your money back". So I filed a claim. I was not satisfied. I paid $70 service fee (Noah promised he would adjust it to $65 and that never happened either). After being completely unsatisfied. I email NOAH and called him. No calls back.
I intended to take him on the offer of if I wasn't completely satisfied that I could cancel and get my money back... I emailed the cancellation department. I went on their chat. I called the customer service number. I spoke to escalation managers and compliance managers.. None of which could give me an amount of my refund.. I was promised 100% but no one will say what I am getting back. I have made 2 payments of $807.50 each which equal $1615. I was promised on a recorded line multiple times that I could cancel with no obligation if I wasn't satisfied in 30 days.. I tried and was a further promise to just file a claim and if I didn't like it I would could still cancel and get my money back... so I want my $1615 back!
A manager on 2/16 told me to expect an email within 24 hours of the refund amount. That same manager told me it was ridiculous. Then on 2/17 after 24 hours I again contacted LHG to find out the amount. I was told I would receive a phone call with the amount but I never did. I contacted LHG today (2/18/22) at 2pm and they still could not tell me how much or when I would receive my refund... Again I was promised I would be receiving a phone call from a manager. I am now demanding full reimbursement in the amount of $1615 and my Credit card info deleted and email confirmation of cancellation.

If I could leave zero stars, I would. Don't even bother with this company. When we purchased our house we selected LHG as the home warranty company, and they have refused to cover any of the 3 claims we submitted -- but they were happy to take our $75 fee to file a claim each time. You're better off just finding your own repair company and paying them directly to have the repairs done.

The claims process was a little confusing. But, the agent took my air conditioner and heater system and fixed it. He didn't fix it the first time so he had to return. Having Liberty is a benefit because if I have some trouble with my appliances and my systems in the house, they can come and check it out if those things are working properly.

The rep explained to me what Liberty was and what it was covering. I was very impressed by him and he went the extra mile to explain a lot of different programs. I told him we had an extra refrigerator and a stand-up freezer in the garage. So, we paid a little bit more. I was pretty happy with the response of just getting ahold of somebody and he explained a way of making three or four payments and that would get us locked in for five years, and then drop our service call cost down to 65. So, we decided to go that route.

Their communication is good. They're fast and thorough and I appreciate that. I had electrical outlets that stopped working. The contractor was assigned within a day and it took them 48 hours to call me. The techs were thorough but then after they left, the electrical outlets went out again and they had to come back a second time and they had some wires crossed. They fixed that and at no charge to me. So, that was good.

As soon as I hit the button on the internet, my phone rang. But the guy was very nice. And he answered my questions. He answered some of my questions before I asked him. So, he did a good job. I have a maintenance agreement on my heating and air conditioning. And plumbing because the house is 30 plus years old. I've lived in it since 1988. But mostly, my appliances, which I purchased new back in 2011. But I retired after that. And then my husband became ill and was forced to go into retirement early. And none of the appliances have had the maintenance that I would have liked to have done, once a year, get them checked up and done. So, I felt like I was asking for it if I didn't do something.
My washing machine, I don't like it. When I set it off, if there's water in it, even though you set it off, you can even pull the plug from the wall, and it will still empty. It will still pump the water out. So if you've got a clogged drain and you don't want that machine empty, it's going to empty and that clogged drain is going to flow all over the place. And what I wound up having to do was climb up on top of the washing machine and open a window and put the hose out the window. If Liberty Home hadn't had the appliances, I wouldn't have went for that. Because it's another step I didn't feel like I needed. But it was mostly the appliances I was concerned about.

I called Liberty Home Guard when my toilet was leaking and everything went smoothly. But it took two days to be contacted by the plumber. Liberty sent me an email at 3 o'clock with who they had referred me to, then I called them and I didn't hear back from them until the following day. But it wasn’t a rush and I have two bathrooms, so it wasn't a biggie. The tech said that maybe the toilet was stopped up, but it cleared itself and that was why it was no longer leaking.

My heating wasn't blowing correctly. I called Liberty and paid the copay. The cost is a bit better. The guy came out and fixed the heating. It took him a couple of hours because he couldn't figure out why wasn't it connecting. But he was patient, and he didn't mind answering questions and helping with it.

Liberty Home was a resalable warranty. I include it with the home if we decide to sell it as an added benefit. If I want to take the warranty or just transfer it to the new homeowner, I can do either way. That was a plus. I did the claim online, which was easy. And I received an email notification within minutes of doing it. The only complaint was the contractor didn't contact me for three days, so I had to reach out to them.
Normally, they reach out to me as a customer and let me know when they are available for a service visit. I filed the claim on a Saturday night or Sunday morning. By Wednesday, I called Liberty and said, "What is going on? I haven't heard anything. Your email said between 24 and 48 hours business days and it has already been almost 72 hours.” So, they gave me the number. I reached out to the contractor and that was it. The guy was professional. He came in, knew exactly what was wrong with the dryer. He took its front off, replaced a part, closed it back up, see you later.

Do not even bother with this company, they are useless. I won't go into the long sordid details of my experience, but the technicians they retain to do the work are unreliable and don't show up for appointments. I ended up just paying for it myself just so I could have hot water again. Save yourself the money because you'll likely have to pay for it anyway.

I called Liberty Home Guard and they sent someone out and the problem I had was fixed. The only thing is they had a wrong address for me. So, they sent someone in that neighborhood. When I updated my address, they sent somebody else. The first guy kept calling, trying to come out, and I kept trying to tell them, "No, we sent somebody else." They only mixed up for that, but that was not anything that anybody could have helped.

I bought a home in December 2020. the home was 50 years old and had an aging HVAC system. I bought a home "Warranty" from Liberty. About 5 months into our contract our HVAC system quit. We paid the deductible and went without heat or air for 2 weeks while they were deciding on whether to replace or repair the system. after the 2 weeks they said that they would sent parts (a little less than $200) and I could have them installed at my expense. I refused their offer and had a new system installed at an expense of approx $9000. I have tried to come to some sort of compromise, but my requests have not even been acknowledged. my experience with Liberty has been a nightmare and I recommend that anyone thinking of doing business with this company, just save your money or go elsewhere.

After NOT having to use the warranty I was forced into purchasing, I canceled my account, or so I thought. Each year Liberty has tried to collect on a cancelled policy. In 12/28/2020 they had to refund over $400 that they took from my account. They tried to do it again in 2021. They never sent verification that my account was canceled. When I received an email that they tried to collect this year, I called and waited on the phone until they sent me an email that the account is closed.

Liberty has a better track record customer service-wise and has more positive reviews. Almost all the other services have a C at best in the Better Business Bureau. I was happy I signed up for it because I was happy with the plan. The parameters, the deductible, and the yearly price were good. They offered me a good price and didn't mess around.

The experience I’ve had with LHG has been consistently good, over at least 10 claims. My husband travels quite often, and I am comforted that I don’t need him to be at home when a repairman is here to check their work. If something stops working, I can call LHG and get a service technician to the house to fix the problem within a day or so.

My one piece of critical feedback was that one customer service agent I spoke with at Liberty seemed to be a bit green when it came to the claims process. Every sentence started with “I have to check that”, but finally, when I asked her if there was a supervisor around, she was able to get me on with someone who was very knowledgeable and answered all my questions on the spot. One the service side, where it really counts, the electrician was a nice guy and was very knowledgeable. He was prompt at making my outlets work again. I even had him come back to install an additional outlet outside.

The staff seems very knowledgeable and caring. I have on occasion called them while I was very frustrated, because when things that I need break it does stress me. Even when I’ve been in a bad mood and called in, they’ve always remained calm and cordial with me, which shows me they are empathetic to their customers. In my opinion that is what is most important.

The service is very nice. We only had somebody come out once with my dryer and it was very embarrassing. When I went to start my dryer in the morning, it wouldn't start. So we had to call the contractor to come out. But I just didn't close my door all the way. Once the tech closed the door and pushed the button, it started working. But the guy was very nice. He called during the day and asked if I wanted him to come out toward the end of the day. I told him yeas and he did.

We enrolled with LHG approximately 2 years ago. Their support has been a great help. Before I had to search and search for maintenance and repair people and never felt as though I was getting a fair price on work being done. And I see it. With Liberty I’m spending maybe 20% what I used to on fixes around the home (AC breaking, Refrigerator not working, etc.) The savings and the convenience are just a huge help to me and my family.

I got home from grocery shopping and noticed that there was a flood under the kitchen sink. I immediately called Liberty Home Guard. First, there was no hold time. They asked me a few questions, and I’m happy they had because they discerned that it was my garbage disposal and not my sink pipes that were leaking. They walked me through removing the garbage disposal and also processed an order for a replacement one on the spot. The unit was at my home the very next day and shortly thereafter a repairman came to install it. The whole experience was so well synchronized and coordinated.

The service I received from Liberty Home Guard was phenomenal. It was super easy to set up my claim through the online portal and to then communicate with the technician regarding when was best for him to come out to my house. Easy to schedule an appointment, the customer service was flexible. The repairman when he arrived was very nice and communicative - explained everything, fixed the leak (had to get some spares, which was super-quick), and cleaned the area.

I called my claim in and American Home Shield got me somebody to get the issue fixed. I had my machine fixed, but it wasn't fixed right. The contractor had to come out here another 10 days later and do something else. The rep was professional. He was understanding too about the issue, and he apologized for it. But there was nothing they could do about that. So, the service I've dealt with is all right so far. If he didn't come out here the third time, I would have ate him and AHS up.
People say, “What in the hell am I paying all this money for to get things fixed and nothing break?” The service is like car insurance. If you don't have it, that's when you have a big accident and you gotta replace a lot of things. So, it's nice to have. And if you got a problem with it, then you will get it fixed. I pay AHS a year because if something breaks, I don't wanna have a hassle when I call somebody to get something fixed.

The first claim we submitted actually took a bit longer than expected (over ten days to replace a ceiling fan, so I was a bit nervous). But then our water heater went out and they were actually able to get me a replacement 3 days later. They also made sure that the technician was at my home the same day the unit arrived to facilitate installation. I’m definitely happy they got it right and handled it quickly when my water heater went out, which is why, even though my first claim was not great I’m giving them 5 stars.

I’ve been impressed by their service from the day I submitted my first claim. I submitted it through the portal and not even five minutes later, a rep from LHG called me to ask me a bunch of follow up questions about the claim. During that claim, they actually helped me self-fix my dishwasher and avoid the deductible fee. Then a few months later, I had a more complex Air Conditioning issue which ended up needing to get replaced. It took 3.5 weeks to get the thing replaced (which sucked) but they did save me over $2,000, which is why I’m giving them five stars. My hope is that after the pandemic is well behind us, their speed will get better, and they did a good job on my first claim also. Everyone was friendly and eager to help on both claims, even when I was calling to express frustrations with delays in the AC.

Our water heater stopped working. We submitted the claim through the portal and I got a call 30 minutes after. The repairman was over at our house the next afternoon. Unfortunately it had to be replaced, and Liberty did inform me there was a backlog in the water heater supply chain, so it may take weeks. A week later, they called and said they had a recent order for a compatible unit that was cancelled by another customer and asked if I wanted it, which of course I said yes to! I was happy they were able to get it done much quicker than the initial multiple week timeframe they stated.

I had 2-10 and I was not happy with them because I called for service and they told me it wasn't in my contract. Liberty had what I needed so I switched to them. The Liberty rep was very patient working with my work schedule. We would attempt to go over some things and I had to get off the phone. He didn't give up, he would shoot an email or send me a text and say, "Anytime that you're available, just give me a call and we can finish the process." He also sent me out what would be covered so that I could compare, which I did. It was very nice versus going into it blind.

I had a claim on my electric stove, and since it was my 1st claim, I had concerns the process would be long and a headache. I’m happy to report that I was wrong. They had an organized process from beginning to end. The tech showed up the next day and was able to repair our stove during that visit. He was professional, friendly and knew exactly what he needed to do, and had all the necessary parts already on his truck.

I’ve had problems with Liberty Home Guard since the day I started with them. They lie about everything. I called them a year ago about my kitchen lights that weren't working. I had a lot of trouble with them and the company that they chose also had a lot of problems with them. They couldn't get on the same page. It ended up that Liberty Home Guard did not go with the company and chose another company who would do it cheaper. So, I went through a week of nonsense with them. We finally got it straightened out and the people came. Apparently, they fixed the light but a few months later, it went out again. I didn't have time to call Liberty back immediately so I called them a couple of weeks ago.
Liberty called the same company that they called the year before who they chose not to use. When I didn't hear back from the electric company, I called them and said that we were not doing this job. They said that at that time, they gave Liberty the estimate and they were told it was under review. Liberty never got back to them so they were not taking it. I had to call Liberty back again and I talked to somebody named Ryan. He said he would call the contractor. A lady called me in the afternoon and she said that the estimate is $625. Liberty would pay 500 and I would pay 125, and I agreed to that.
The next morning, I called the electricity company, Advanced Electric, and the lady said they hadn’t received anything from Liberty and I was not on their docket. So, I had to call Liberty back and it was Ryan again. He put me on hold and called Advanced Electric again, and assured me everything was fine. So I called back the electric company to make sure. They told me that Liberty told them that the reason they never got back to them the year earlier was because I decided to have a friend fix the light for me, which was a total lie. If I had a friend that can do this kind of stuff, I won't pay for a warranty. Liberty is horrible and I will not renew with them. I don't know what I was thinking when I signed up for three years with them. I was stupid but I’m done after this.

Overall, even though there were some hiccups during the buying process, my experience with Liberty Home Guard has been quite positive. I’ve had two separate technicians reschedule twice on one claim, which was very frustrating. That said, my other three claims were handled very quickly and Liberty Home Guard paid for the fixes in full. Also, the team at Liberty always communicates with me whether it’s good news (paying for the claim in full) or bad (technicians need to reschedule).

The coverage at the beginning wasn't exactly what I was promised. But then Liberty Home Guard got that fixed. I filed a claim for the dryer online and the guy came and fixed it. It just took a little longer to get the part in. But with the pandemic and with the shortages, I understand it. It's not a huge deal. Hopefully, all of that gets done better. I wish that Liberty won't be too pushy and call a million times just to get somebody signed up. That is one thing that I almost didn't go with them. I told them I was gonna sign up with them. It's just that I need a lot of time, where I couldn't do it at that point because I was under contract with the previous company.

Signing up is easy. Getting the work done is the problem. Liberty couldn't find anybody to come out. I had to find my own guy. I waited four days and I have a refrigerator that doesn't work and all my food is thrown in the garbage. The guy I called said that he works for them, but they never called him. The other guy that I called that used to come said he wouldn't come anymore because Liberty doesn't pay him. If Liberty doesn't fix this refrigerator, I'm about to cancel.

Their sign-up process was easy and quick. We did it by phone and everything was great. Recently, we had a big old leak under the kitchen sink. They were very quick in getting the tech out. The tech was great. After he left, he came back just to make sure he tightened something up he couldn't remember. Everything was wonderful. We were very pleased with Liberty.

I've been a Liberty Home Guard customer for a few years now and I’ve never once been denied coverage. I do get the sense that they are growing really fast and struggle a bit there, because I rarely have spoken with the same agent twice, but I also got the sense that they genuinely want to make their customers as happy as they can. They do a pretty good job of executing on that sentiment as well. Definitely will be renewing my plan.

I thought my plumbing was covered. When they went out, they said, "Only up to $250." I checked with other home warranty companies, they don't have such a limit. So, I canceled my policy with Liberty. But they were responsive. The vendor they sent out was okay and quick, too. The warranty just didn't pay what I thought it would.

My garage door got stuck and would not budge. I had an important appointment I needed to drive to the next day. I got on with Liberty (and if I’m being honest, may have been a bit frantic), and they said they would make every effort to expedite dispatching a repairman. An hour later, I got a call that one of their repairmen will come after he finishes for the day. That evening, the repairman was at my house at 8pm and worked until 11pm to fix the issue. In the past 3 years, we’ve submitted about 6 claims with Liberty so far through their warranty program. They never have long hold times when we call and their customer service is always quick to address our issues. They just seem very proactive as well as flexible with us in finding the solution that leaves us the least inconvenienced. And the technicians who are assigned have done a good job in completing the necessary work. Literally every time. I keep recommending this warranty plan to all our friends. I was looking for more coverage for my electronics, my roof, and more things around the house. I was told that Liberty offered that. However, it has not been good with them. I don't even bother to call them. I'm just waiting for my contract to end so I can switch. When I filed a claim for my exhaust fan, I had to end up paying half of the installation and that took months to get somebody out there. When Liberty scheduled, the first two technicians were no call, no show. Then I was told by Liberty that I had to use that same technician. If not, I will be charged again. I was pissed about that and that was the last straw for me.
The customer service and the technicians were horrible. It's been a Horror them them. They're very unprofessional. I was told that was all the contractors they had in my area, and if I wanted to have somebody else, that I would have to pay. That was false advertising because I was told when I was being solicited that they had more contractors than any other home warranty company. Liberty is not a good home warranty company. They're probably one of the worst.

I used Liberty a couple of times and both times, I've been happy with them. I had some problems with my air conditioner and they sent somebody out. They repaired it and I paid the $75. The other one was a leaky faucet and they took care of that. But Liberty seems to take a little longer to get people here. When we called for air conditioning, it took them three days to get somebody here.

We had our refrigerator and our stove go out at the same time. The freezer had built up frost inside. I never had a frostless one before, so I didn't realize that I needed to get rid of that, but we did. And that took care of that. The stove needed a new igniter. It took a long time to get the part. But that wasn't Liberty's fault. It’s just Samsung parts are hard to get right now. Other than that, everything went fine. They’ve sent out the repair people and the repair people did their job. Everything works now. Liberty Home Guard is good. They did what they said they were gonna do. Worth the money.

We used to have American Home Shield and that company seemed to get people out a little quicker. But the couple of claims we've done have worked out pretty well. The first was for a garbage disposal and we got that worked out. The second involved some toilets and we're still trying to get that worked out. Liberty has been great. The enrolment process was smooth. The techs have been helpful and really informative. The most recent claim I filed was for my refrigerator that was leaking water. They called a company to replace a fan. The only thing was I had to pay half. They only cover a portion. So that claim was kind of weird. The other two claims I had, they covered everything. I paid the service call fee, and then they did the rest.

The lady on the phone was very nice. But they told me I had a $75 co-pay. Then, it became $150. The first time I had to use Liberty, it was on a weekend and my entire sewage system was completely backed up into my house. Everything was a nightmare. They wouldn't get a hold of me and they wouldn't help me. I had to wait the whole weekend. So, we had to leave. Also, I had an appointment for somebody to come for my plumbing and then I cancelled it. But they sent the tech out anyway so I'm sure I got billed for that. I just haven't had time to look ‘cause I travel. I never had these problems with the other warranty company.
Check if your warranty is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. I'm not used to not being able to get a hold of somebody and just being like, “Well, sorry. We'll take care of you on Monday,” even though sewage is backed up on my shower and on my floors.

They came in vehicles that weren't marked. At one point, they borrowed our tools. So, so far, I'm very pleased with Liberty. Look into this company. The person that sold me the policy totally mislead me when I asked specifically about southwest tile roof leaks being covered. He stated that minor leaks were covered. I had 2 minor leaks and they were denied because the rep stated that 2 of the tiles had to be replaced. NOWHERE in the roofing company report did it state that ANY tiles needed to be replaced, simply that they would be set aside and re-used after the repair was done. Also, they charged me the usual fee when it was I who had to find a roofing company as they were unable to locate one for my home in the Phoenix metropolitan area.
This is a totally fraudulent company with terrible customer service people that are taught to tell you nothing but lies. The young man that sold me the policy also stated that high end appliances were also covered as I specifically asked; ie Thermador stove & refrigerator. When I received the written policy, it stated that they WERE NOT COVERED! I have never been able to reach him on the phone. Buyers beware!!!

Liberty Home Guard refused repair my AC compressor, which is covered by my policy, by claiming that it is a valve that caused the issue. However, the company who did the evaluation did not say a valve caused the issue. They wrote the following to Liberty Home Guard: "Customer informed me garage unit was not cooling properly. Inspected unit and noticed compressor was not functioning properly which indicates compressor is bad. Informed customer and home warranty of issue and recommended home warranty replace system due to its age and cost to replace compressor. Home warranty wanted a price for system replacement. Will return once home warranty has approved us for system replacement."
Liberty refused to send me a copy of the above, so I had to get it from the technician's company. They became extremely aggressive on the phone by refusing to answer questions and strangely, accusing me of trying to change words, despite the word valve never found in writing on any report sent or on my site portal. Why would I change words if it was in my favor? My mind was blown when he said this. They obviously appear to be trying to get out of this expensive repair. They've escalated my issue for a 2nd time, but it's already a terrible experience. On my other water heater claim, I lost several weeks calling back over and over to get it processed. Zero positive experiences with this company so far.

I wanted and should have posted this review earlier. I am a hands-off landlord who lives in a different state with a 5-property umbrella policy, which I transferred over from Choice Home Warranty. Having had this policy for over a year I can give an honest review. I was going to write a review much earlier due to my negative experiences with their claims (13 total claims), but I was talked into not posting it by their senior management.
In addition, I was on the verge of canceling all of my policies several times, but was "legally bribed" $200 for not posting my negative (but true) review of this company online. I was then contacted by a senior manager, who proceeded to assure me that he will be personally assisting with claims under my account going forward. This helped for about 1 claim, but below is the description of a claim that made me finally end my relationship and cancel all of my policies with them.
I filed a claim on Sunday (7/11/2021) for my tenant, who had his AC go out - it was nearly 100 degrees that day and most days thereafter while this claim lasted (about 2 weeks). On Monday a technician came out to look at it. The tech told me that he had the parts needed for the repair in his warehouse and he could finish the job the following day. However, he notified me that Liberty Home Guard did not approve the covered items and was going to ship their own part to the technician. Then they also notified me that I'd have to pay $175 for parts, although this whole claim should have been covered in full.
I still never received an explanation as to why the whole claim was not covered as it should have been under the policy. After a few days' delay tactic, they had me sign a waiver that I'd pay this extra amount in order to move forward with the repair. They knew I'd sign it because at that point it's been a few days and as a landlord I just wanted to get the repair done at that point and I had no way out as I couldn't pay the tech directly to just finish the job. They used this against me later on.
Fast forward to following Friday (7/23/2021) there was still no resolution. The goons that they have sitting in their call centers are professional deflectors and will keep passing you around or put you on hold until you give up. I have wasted several hours of my time on more than one occasion with them. My tenant has a small baby and it's been nearly 100 degrees here every day since the claim started and stayed like that over the weekend. This is a liability for me as a landlord and an additional expense that I will have to pay for temporary accommodations!
They promised me a resolution by today, but surely I didn't hear anything over the weekend as their parts department is closed on weekends. They were going to ship out a part, which I had to sign a statement AND pay for the part. They promised to ship it out on Monday (7/26/2021), but at that point I had a very hard time believing that judging by my overall experience. I was not sure what to tell my tenant at this point....
Monday was compete radio silence from their parts department. Tuesday I had to call in and follow up for the tracking information, but was then informed by their parts manager that their supplier had it on back-order and never shipped anything out the previous week. They assured me that they will ship another part and it should arrive to the tech by Thursday (7/29/2921). They did so, however, Technician went to install it to only find out that they sent a wrong part! I then disputed the $175 charge on my card because they couldn't even send out the correct part after 2 weeks, however, they then proceeded to keep saying that I signed the paper and there is nothing they can do.
They didn't even offer to take that charge off as a courtesy, which should have been fully covered by the claim in the first place and then they managed to send the wrong part after 2 weeks. That is some shady arm-twisting practices that I've come to expect from home warranty companies and I was naive enough to believe that Liberty Home Guard was different. They are not. Now they deactivated my policy altogether and did not refund me the prorated amount as per policy contract.
This was turning into circus at that point. I had to reimburse my tenant financially due to the amount of time this was taking. I should have just used my contractor straight up for this and will do so for all repairs in the future. They have no remorse for people or conditions that they have caused with their delaying tactics.
These warranty companies are just worth the time and money that you have to spend dealing with their claims. It will save you time and resources to pay for parts and labor directly. This company is no different than any other home warranty company. They will point to their "stellar" reputation on BBB and other consumer review sites, but do be aware of the legal bribes that they pay customers to not post negative reviews on these sites.
I wouldn't be surprised if they get hit with a class action lawsuit soon, similar to an ongoing lawsuit against Choice Home Warranty because their sleazy business practices are nearly identical. I am posting this honest review in hopes that people learn from my mistakes and avoid this home warranty company (and all other ones for that matter) and use a good contractor to do all repairs directly.

For example, last week the garage opener got stuck, and the customer service representative called me right after their system notified that a technician was assigned. Unlike other salespeople, he did not promise me the world but did assure me the service would be reliable and save me money. I purchased Liberty Home Guard because its high ratings with the BBB. We have always had a home warranty but our company was no longer providing service in our area. We chose to insure the pool pump add. After 30 days with the company the board went all of a sudden. We placed the claim and at first they said it was not covered. We had to email them the part of our contract that said it was covered. They could not get anyone here to check it out so they told us to get our own, we did.
After 3 weeks waiting they told us that it would pay only 250.00 (out of 780.00) claim because it had broken within 90 days of our contract and the max would have been 500.00. We checked our contract and it was mentioned in the last page in very small print. We can cancel because we would lose our money. Please read the contract!! This people want to collect but not pay out. We have never had any other companies in the past that do do. We will find another one for our other 2 homes.

I bought a Liberty Home Guard warranty about 3 months ago. They were extremely rude to me, they also jacked my price up for service from $75 to $120 without telling me. My ac went out and I live on Arizona. Their people called me 3 days later after I made the claim. At that point I called my own people to come out and asked liberty for a cash out. They said, "Fine get it replaced and send us the invoice." Well they then turned around and said my replacement wasn't approved and left me with the bill. I then wanted to cancel my policy and they gave me a low ball offer of $200 when I have given them almost $600 for a full year 3 months ago. Then today a "senior director" called me today and said he give me a full refund if I took my reviews down. So they tried to hold me over a barrel with my own money. I told them no and I'm letting everyone know that they pay for reviews and are a complete scam!!

I did a lot of research, both mainly customer reviews and a survey. There's not a single company out there which satisfies everybody, but Liberty Home Guard was the one which had, in general, very positive reviews. Reading reviews, which showed that mostly people are happy with Liberty, was the biggest reason why I decided to go with them. When I initially reached out, whoever was helping me was a little pushy for my liking. That person wanted me to make a decision right away and I said I couldn't because I needed to discuss it. I reached out again because I was impressed with the offering and the reviews that they overtook my other feelings about the first person.
The second day, when I wanted to buy the plan, was smooth. However, some things which were promised to me were not delivered, so I called back. The first time, whoever helped me then said they could not help me at all. I said, “I want to cancel the plan.” They were like, "Fine. You can go ahead and do that. It didn't matter to me.” For me, that was a very bad interaction. I called at another time on a weekend and I got somebody else. That person was able to help me with one of my issues, and they told me to call back on Monday, and the other problem would be fixed. I called up, and it was fixed. If I had not persisted and gotten the other person after I called back again, I would have canceled the plan because whoever the third person was was very rude.

With the first claim I filed, I called in on a Wednesday and it took a week for somebody to get out here because they said, "Well, we'll put it in, and then we don't do around the weekends." But the next time, it was really quick. Somebody was here like the next day.

When I spoke to the sales rep, they told me that there's a $70 deductible when somebody comes then whatever repair would be repaired. When my air conditioning unit was not working properly, I paid the $70 and they sent out somebody that was a novice. They didn't know what was going on or how to fix it. Liberty had to send out another person to check behind them to properly assess the problem then they called me back that evening.
One person called me during the day and told me that it was repaired and things should be fine. Another person called me back that evening and told me that they knew what was wrong and I had to split the cost of the repair with Liberty Home Guard in order to get my air conditioning fixed. If I'm gonna pay for a home warranty and I'm paying that deductible, then why am I splitting the cost for the repair? That didn't make any sense to me and I cancelled the home warranty. Don't use Liberty Home Guard. Find somebody else.

I moved 2 weeks ago and the A/C has had issues since at least then. Luckily I had a Liberty Home Warranty with the home purchase. I called their claims department, and even though I could not tell them when the issue began, they began the process of finding me a technician right away. The workers were very professional and had my A/C fixed the next day. So far, I am very satisfied with the service.

The customer service team is very communicative and patient. If I don’t understand something they patiently explain it again to me and they even will put me on with their in-house specialists to help me troubleshoot and diagnose issues. After my refrigerator iced over, I called Liberty Home Guard. A technician was at my home within 48 hours. He told me to unplug the unit and let it thaw and then to call him. I called him the next day and he was at my house fifteen minutes after I called. He checked out my refrigerator, cleaned out a few areas and now it works like new. Liberty Home Guard has held up their end of the bargain so far.

Update: We went ahead and bought a new dishwasher. About 10 days later, I received a call from Senior Director Aaron ** who could not stop apologizing for the unfortunate misunderstanding and immediately resolved the issue to my satisfaction offering an adequate amount of money towards our new dishwasher. Mr. ** was extremely professional, friendly, and absolutely understanding and supportive of my situation. In fact, he gave me his direct line and followed up with an email afterwards.

My dishwasher made a popping sound and shut down. Liberty sent their authorized repair person. He saw the control panel shorted out, and sent the information to Liberty. Later, I received a text message from the tech saying that the part was no longer available, and I should wait to hear from Liberty to see what they are going to do to replace it. Liberty’s “escalation” representative, Rick ** sent an email stating that this was a non-covered claim. "Liberty is neither responsible nor liable for Covered Item repairs or replacements when a Malfunction is due to: Accidents, fire, freezing, subsidence, water damage, electrical failure or surge, or excessive or inadequate water pressure.”
The tech couldn't believe this response since he's replaced control panels before using Liberty and other companies. The technician said, "electrical failure or surge" pertains to the home, not the part, but Keller said, "I don't care what the tech thinks". Keller offered $175 as a "favor" towards a new dishwasher. A comparable dishwasher is close to $1000, so if you expect this company to replace your appliance, it's not going to happen. They only offered their wholesale price on dishwashers they deemed were comparable so I checked the prices and they were $500 and weren't close to what I have. By the way, I haven't seen the check for $175, and I don't expect to either. To add insult to injury, I received, the next day, an offer to extend my warranty with them, 3 months in advance of the existing one's expiration date. If you have an attorney friend or family member, let them read the entire warranty before buying it.
Here's how it works: "Section H. Limitations & Exclusions Paragraph 10 Limits of Liability. Line (3) Within 120 days of the Purchase Date, all Covered Items are limited to 60% of the Covered Item’s Depreciated Value, and thereafter, LHG will cover up to 100% of the Covered Item’s Depreciated Value". "Purchase price ($)700. Age of Unit (in Years)18. Estimated Useful Life (in Years) 24. 100% of Depreciated Value : $ 175.00 (the amount granted towards repair or replacement)". Yep, if that's not twisted enough, they claim to know what I paid for the machine.

There was a leak and we made the claim to Liberty Home Guard. The plumber came in fairly quickly and was able to fix the issue. Reaching out to Liberty is a bit difficult. There's not always a person directly to reach. It's like almost a secondary process. Someone answers the phone if it's within the office hours. I tried to make the call on a Saturday and wasn't able to reach anybody. So, I left a voicemail. I couldn't get anybody to contact until it was Monday. It would have been much easier if someone could have just picked up the phone. The online claim process didn't work this time because there was some sort of pending status on my online portal, so I couldn't place a claim online. Overall, placing the claim wasn't the smoothest.
With the home warranty policy, I know that someone is going to be there to help with the repairs. Sometimes, it could be difficult to find a handyman to do the job in a timely manner, and having the home warranty makes it easier to get ahold of somebody eventually. One of the problems we had with the home warranty we had, which is why we switched to Liberty, was the people they would send. We could get ahold of them pretty quickly. There was always someone to answer the phone even on the weekend anytime, day or night, but the people they would send would not be able to resolve the concern in one visit. One issue I do have with Liberty is a contractor would come out, see the problem, then would have to report back to Liberty Home Guard, and it would take some time for it to be approved for that contractor to come out again. It would be good if the contractor could come in, evaluate, and get the approval to do the job the same day.

The repair person came with all the tools and did a great job anticipating what parts he’d need. I can only imagine that LHG informed him well before he came out to my home. I purchased Liberty Home Guard Because it was rated number one. The 1st time I have tried to use it is in the middle of summer in Arizona where it's a 120゚. I put a claim in 3 days ago, just called to to see why I have not been called to schedule a repair. The guy was no help at all. Said I would have to call back tomorrow early. I explained to him that that will make it 4 days now in the middle of summer with no AC. He said there was nothing he could do.

I’ve submitted 6 claims in the last two years that I have been with Liberty Home Guard. While certainly not every claim went perfectly, nobody is perfect and overall they have done a superior job, especially when compared to the prior two home warranty policies that I’ve had. They also do make an effort to learn and to improve, as I‘ve seen from my past 6 claims, the more recent ones have been by far the best experiences of the bunch. So for that I give Liberty Home Guard high marks.

They literally pay for nothing. They have an excuse for everything they deny. I have had this warranty company for a few years. My AC went out and needs to be replaced. They also take their sweet time taking care of any claim. It has been almost 3 weeks and still my AC has not been replaced. They are still working on paperwork. They are not going pay to replace as they claim to do. Of the $4500 to replace they are only paying $400. Same with my water heater that went out. They literally pay nothing or very little. NOT WORTH IT!!! Their only goal is to get customers to sign up. They have no intention of paying for anything. They outsource their call center to another country and like all such call centers, they just read off a script and do nothing to help you!!! They come up with all kinds of random scam excuses as to why a said replacement or repair is not covered. DO NOT GET THIS HOME WARRANTY COMPANY!!!

They don’t intentionally make filing claims and getting in contact with their support team difficult, like other home warranty companies will do, in order to get out of service. Never buy Liberty Home Guard for your warranty. They play tricks on customer. Our AC unit is down recently and we file a claim but they decline to fix or replace cause the technician can't find the part. All they are offering is $250 asking us to deal by ourselves. What we are asking is to get the AC unit functioning especially now it's summer time. They ignore our request and we have made many phone calls to communicate but all what we get is they can't do anything to resolve but the $250 for a part not existing now even they know we can't do anything about the AC with the $250. We have been their customer for the 2nd year and this is how they treat their customer and have no capability to fix issue.

This company does not respond to the claims right away. After a couple of days they send someone who is not able to fix anything until they have the 'ok' from Liberty Home Guard. The repair may take from a week to even LHG declining coverage at all. BUT their contract states AC unit coverage -replacement 'IF' not fixable. However, they can decline coverage if one part is not in "their contract", EVEN WHEN THE PART IS NOT EVEN MENTIONED IN THEIR CONTRACT!! They refused to replace my non-fixable AC because the part that the tech reported as broken is "not in their contract" but it is NOT mentioned either!?!? This company is a fraud!

I have purchased Liberty Home Guard insurance for the 5 years. When sign the contract the sales individual told me everything is covered within the home. Then I claim first time for a faucet defect (leaking in the main shower), which Liberty Home Guard hold on for 4 days and with several phone call from my side they send an technician which just came take a look and gone, and liberty charged me $65 immediately. After another 2 days they declined the claim and ever disagree to return $65 what they charge. When I ask for cancellation of my policy and return the full money back as they have wasted my time and cheated me, now they are moving from call to call!!

My latest issue with my Air Conditioning was immediately escalated, which I appreciated. The customer service rep Jonathan, told me that prioritization of AC claims in the summer is by design in their system. He told me that the founders are former military and intentionally designed the system to intelligently triage claims, especially when volume picks up. And I have to say that Liberty Home Guard’s approach really does seem methodologically rigorous based on my experience. It’s understandable to wait a couple weeks for a new garbage disposal but doing without an AC in the heat is just untenable. Even though AC replacements seem to be much more complex than replacing something straightforward like a garbage disposal.

Their customer service reps really care. I was on the phone with Fernando for a long time to explain the issue and unique circumstances in my home. This happened on a Sunday afternoon, and on Monday morning their technician was at my place inspecting our AC system. He was actually able to fix the issue during that visit. I was actually so surprised he was able to do so, so quickly that I intentionally waited a few weeks before writing this review to see if the repair stuck and thankfully it has.

I signed up and paid in full, the first problem was the deductible fee was jacked from $60 to $125, it takes 5 calls to the company; the outcome was they refused to honor the $60 and lower it to $80. Second, I have an issue with the refrigerator, I filed a claim and paid $80, after 3 days I have to call them and ask for the claim to be assigned to a tech, they assign it a LAMARTIN Station, and said they will call in 24 hours for appointment. I called the tech. They took my name and said they will call back, they never call back. I called and ask customer service for help. They gave me a run around with three different representatives. Each one asked “What is your name. We will call you," and finally hanged up on me.
We have to buy a chest freezer, and our food are now in the porch waiting for them to send a tech. 1/31/2021 I hired a tech and paid $99 to diagnose, he found a leak, LGH said not covered and offer to sell me a refrigerator??? I asked BBB for help. It is been 6 months of refusal to fix or repair the Fridge. I also asked NY attorney general office for help. They refused to collaborate and I get a letter from the office, asked me to file a small claim. I filed a small claim. It was dismissed because of "Mandatory Arbitration". Beware of this fake company to take your money and get you nothing. Really a terrible company to deal with, I regret signing up with them.

He also had good things to say about Liberty Home which was encouraging. I switched to Liberty Home Guard from American Home Shield a little over a year ago, what a mistake, I never had an issue with American Home Shield, I was just trying to save money. In the past year I tried to use their service 2 times, at a rental we have covered by them we had a leaky valve in the shower we needed repaired, after sending a plumber they said that we only had the service for 6 months and they would only cover 20% of the cost so I paid to have it fixed.
Now about 2 weeks ago our AC went out at our house, I called Liberty Home Guard and they sent out a service tech to inspect the unit (All good so far), the AC tech checked it out and determined that the compressor went bad and sent his report to Liberty. After about a week I hadn't heard anything so I called Liberty to see if they received the report, they did but said that they determined that it was caused by an internal electrical short in the compressor and they don't cover it?
My takeaway from the conversation was they really didn't cover anything? At the end of our conversation I had to ask myself what I was paying them for? Beware of what your buying, I asked about the coverage and was told any issue my AC unit had would be covered, they lied. My advice, save your money, Liberty Home Guard will gladly take your money month in and month out but when it comes down to covering the repair costs more than likely you will be paying out of your own pocket, IMO they will use any excuse possible not to pay...

If anything they do the opposite. On my first claim, the repairman was above expectations and knew what he was doing. Our dryer works like brand-new. I would give zero stars if I could. They are so shady. You can never cancel because they have a clause that any cancellations incur a $50 cancellation fee plus payback for any services provided. So if you have a plumber come out and it cost them $300 for the service If you cancel, it will cost you $350 if you cancel your policy with them. This is so shady. DO NOT TRUST THEM.

My claims experience - The technician diagnosed the problem, ordered the correct part, and installed it as soon as it came in which was around 5 days after he was by us. He was polite and very nice and so were the folks on the phone who scheduled him. Scheduling the appointment was fine, not much hassle. My fridge works now and that's all I care about.

LHG took accountability with my claim. We could not repair my AC unit so they replaced it in full. I saved multiples of what I spent on my policy, and I am so happy I went with them. They were also able to facilitate the entire replacement within a week, which I was shocked about. With everything going on lately it seems like nothing happens on time and everything is delayed but Liberty Home Guard was able deliver when others can’t.

My experience of having our water heater repaired was great. I called to fill out a claim and the very next day a Liberty Home Guard contractor was already diagnosing the issue. The water heater needed to be replaced and Liberty Home Guard gave me no issue whatsoever and they just got it done. Very grateful to be with a company that does what they say they will.

My aircon was working fine and then it just would not turn on all of a sudden. The rep who came to my place explained what went wrong, and how we should fix it. It took him a few hours on the same day (I was told later that Liberty Home Guard’s system had automatically notified him the details of the unit and breakdown so he had the parts on hand). I was just so impressed by that intelligent process from a home warranty company that it turned me into a customer for life. I have been with them for about 2 years now and undoubtedly will continue with them.

Deny deny deny! That is what LHG does with any major claim, no matter how valid. My experience with them has been that if they cannot profit off your claim, they will deny it. And that is what you get IF they bother to get back to you (I am still waiting over 8 months on some claims), they will fabricate excuses to avoid coverage. I had two houses covered, and in both houses after the people who came out could not repair the AC units, they refused to cover their replacement. When the pool pump went out, they refused to cover a new pump. Stay away, in my humble opinion.
