I bought a home in December 2020. the home was 50 years old and had an aging HVAC system. I bought a home "Warranty" from Liberty. About 5 months into our contract our HVAC system quit. We paid the deductible and went without heat or air for 2 weeks while they were deciding on whether to replace or repair the system. after the 2 weeks they said that they would sent parts (a little less than $200) and I could have them installed at my expense. I refused their offer and had a new system installed at an expense of approx $9000. I have tried to come to some sort of compromise, but my requests have not even been acknowledged. my experience with Liberty has been a nightmare and I recommend that anyone thinking of doing business with this company, just save your money or go elsewhere.

Liberty was not as pushy as others and they proposed good conditions. Also, the rep who helped me with signing up listened to me. I've submitted a claim and it was easy.

After NOT having to use the warranty I was forced into purchasing, I canceled my account, or so I thought. Each year Liberty has tried to collect on a cancelled policy. In 12/28/2020 they had to refund over $400 that they took from my account. They tried to do it again in 2021. They never sent verification that my account was canceled. When I received an email that they tried to collect this year, I called and waited on the phone until they sent me an email that the account is closed.

Liberty has a better track record customer service-wise and has more positive reviews. Almost all the other services have a C at best in the Better Business Bureau. I was happy I signed up for it because I was happy with the plan. The parameters, the deductible, and the yearly price were good. They offered me a good price and didn't mess around.

The experience I’ve had with LHG has been consistently good, over at least 10 claims. My husband travels quite often, and I am comforted that I don’t need him to be at home when a repairman is here to check their work. If something stops working, I can call LHG and get a service technician to the house to fix the problem within a day or so.

My one piece of critical feedback was that one customer service agent I spoke with at Liberty seemed to be a bit green when it came to the claims process. Every sentence started with “I have to check that”, but finally, when I asked her if there was a supervisor around, she was able to get me on with someone who was very knowledgeable and answered all my questions on the spot. One the service side, where it really counts, the electrician was a nice guy and was very knowledgeable. He was prompt at making my outlets work again. I even had him come back to install an additional outlet outside.

The staff seems very knowledgeable and caring. I have on occasion called them while I was very frustrated, because when things that I need break it does stress me. Even when I’ve been in a bad mood and called in, they’ve always remained calm and cordial with me, which shows me they are empathetic to their customers. In my opinion that is what is most important.

The service is very nice. We only had somebody come out once with my dryer and it was very embarrassing. When I went to start my dryer in the morning, it wouldn't start. So we had to call the contractor to come out. But I just didn't close my door all the way. Once the tech closed the door and pushed the button, it started working. But the guy was very nice. He called during the day and asked if I wanted him to come out toward the end of the day. I told him yeas and he did.

We enrolled with LHG approximately 2 years ago. Their support has been a great help. Before I had to search and search for maintenance and repair people and never felt as though I was getting a fair price on work being done. And I see it. With Liberty I’m spending maybe 20% what I used to on fixes around the home (AC breaking, Refrigerator not working, etc.) The savings and the convenience are just a huge help to me and my family.

I got home from grocery shopping and noticed that there was a flood under the kitchen sink. I immediately called Liberty Home Guard. First, there was no hold time. They asked me a few questions, and I’m happy they had because they discerned that it was my garbage disposal and not my sink pipes that were leaking. They walked me through removing the garbage disposal and also processed an order for a replacement one on the spot. The unit was at my home the very next day and shortly thereafter a repairman came to install it. The whole experience was so well synchronized and coordinated.

The service I received from Liberty Home Guard was phenomenal. It was super easy to set up my claim through the online portal and to then communicate with the technician regarding when was best for him to come out to my house. Easy to schedule an appointment, the customer service was flexible. The repairman when he arrived was very nice and communicative - explained everything, fixed the leak (had to get some spares, which was super-quick), and cleaned the area.

I called my claim in and American Home Shield got me somebody to get the issue fixed. I had my machine fixed, but it wasn't fixed right. The contractor had to come out here another 10 days later and do something else. The rep was professional. He was understanding too about the issue, and he apologized for it. But there was nothing they could do about that. So, the service I've dealt with is all right so far. If he didn't come out here the third time, I would have ate him and AHS up.
People say, “What in the hell am I paying all this money for to get things fixed and nothing break?” The service is like car insurance. If you don't have it, that's when you have a big accident and you gotta replace a lot of things. So, it's nice to have. And if you got a problem with it, then you will get it fixed. I pay AHS a year because if something breaks, I don't wanna have a hassle when I call somebody to get something fixed.

The first claim we submitted actually took a bit longer than expected (over ten days to replace a ceiling fan, so I was a bit nervous). But then our water heater went out and they were actually able to get me a replacement 3 days later. They also made sure that the technician was at my home the same day the unit arrived to facilitate installation. I’m definitely happy they got it right and handled it quickly when my water heater went out, which is why, even though my first claim was not great I’m giving them 5 stars.

I’ve been impressed by their service from the day I submitted my first claim. I submitted it through the portal and not even five minutes later, a rep from LHG called me to ask me a bunch of follow up questions about the claim. During that claim, they actually helped me self-fix my dishwasher and avoid the deductible fee. Then a few months later, I had a more complex Air Conditioning issue which ended up needing to get replaced. It took 3.5 weeks to get the thing replaced (which sucked) but they did save me over $2,000, which is why I’m giving them five stars. My hope is that after the pandemic is well behind us, their speed will get better, and they did a good job on my first claim also. Everyone was friendly and eager to help on both claims, even when I was calling to express frustrations with delays in the AC.

Our water heater stopped working. We submitted the claim through the portal and I got a call 30 minutes after. The repairman was over at our house the next afternoon. Unfortunately it had to be replaced, and Liberty did inform me there was a backlog in the water heater supply chain, so it may take weeks. A week later, they called and said they had a recent order for a compatible unit that was cancelled by another customer and asked if I wanted it, which of course I said yes to! I was happy they were able to get it done much quicker than the initial multiple week timeframe they stated.

I had 2-10 and I was not happy with them because I called for service and they told me it wasn't in my contract. Liberty had what I needed so I switched to them. The Liberty rep was very patient working with my work schedule. We would attempt to go over some things and I had to get off the phone. He didn't give up, he would shoot an email or send me a text and say, "Anytime that you're available, just give me a call and we can finish the process." He also sent me out what would be covered so that I could compare, which I did. It was very nice versus going into it blind.

I had a claim on my electric stove, and since it was my 1st claim, I had concerns the process would be long and a headache. I’m happy to report that I was wrong. They had an organized process from beginning to end. The tech showed up the next day and was able to repair our stove during that visit. He was professional, friendly and knew exactly what he needed to do, and had all the necessary parts already on his truck.

I’ve had problems with Liberty Home Guard since the day I started with them. They lie about everything. I called them a year ago about my kitchen lights that weren't working. I had a lot of trouble with them and the company that they chose also had a lot of problems with them. They couldn't get on the same page. It ended up that Liberty Home Guard did not go with the company and chose another company who would do it cheaper. So, I went through a week of nonsense with them. We finally got it straightened out and the people came. Apparently, they fixed the light but a few months later, it went out again. I didn't have time to call Liberty back immediately so I called them a couple of weeks ago.
Liberty called the same company that they called the year before who they chose not to use. When I didn't hear back from the electric company, I called them and said that we were not doing this job. They said that at that time, they gave Liberty the estimate and they were told it was under review. Liberty never got back to them so they were not taking it. I had to call Liberty back again and I talked to somebody named Ryan. He said he would call the contractor. A lady called me in the afternoon and she said that the estimate is $625. Liberty would pay 500 and I would pay 125, and I agreed to that.
The next morning, I called the electricity company, Advanced Electric, and the lady said they hadn’t received anything from Liberty and I was not on their docket. So, I had to call Liberty back and it was Ryan again. He put me on hold and called Advanced Electric again, and assured me everything was fine. So I called back the electric company to make sure. They told me that Liberty told them that the reason they never got back to them the year earlier was because I decided to have a friend fix the light for me, which was a total lie. If I had a friend that can do this kind of stuff, I won't pay for a warranty. Liberty is horrible and I will not renew with them. I don't know what I was thinking when I signed up for three years with them. I was stupid but I’m done after this.

We've only had Liberty Home Guard in place for a couple of weeks and haven't had a need to use it. But so far, the interactions with Liberty have been helpful and great. I’ve had no problems at all. Overall, even though there were some hiccups during the buying process, my experience with Liberty Home Guard has been quite positive. I’ve had two separate technicians reschedule twice on one claim, which was very frustrating. That said, my other three claims were handled very quickly and Liberty Home Guard paid for the fixes in full. Also, the team at Liberty always communicates with me whether it’s good news (paying for the claim in full) or bad (technicians need to reschedule).

The coverage at the beginning wasn't exactly what I was promised. But then Liberty Home Guard got that fixed. I filed a claim for the dryer online and the guy came and fixed it. It just took a little longer to get the part in. But with the pandemic and with the shortages, I understand it. It's not a huge deal. Hopefully, all of that gets done better. I wish that Liberty won't be too pushy and call a million times just to get somebody signed up. That is one thing that I almost didn't go with them. I told them I was gonna sign up with them. It's just that I need a lot of time, where I couldn't do it at that point because I was under contract with the previous company.

Signing up is easy. Getting the work done is the problem. Liberty couldn't find anybody to come out. I had to find my own guy. I waited four days and I have a refrigerator that doesn't work and all my food is thrown in the garbage. The guy I called said that he works for them, but they never called him. The other guy that I called that used to come said he wouldn't come anymore because Liberty doesn't pay him. If Liberty doesn't fix this refrigerator, I'm about to cancel.

Their sign-up process was easy and quick. We did it by phone and everything was great. Recently, we had a big old leak under the kitchen sink. They were very quick in getting the tech out. The tech was great. After he left, he came back just to make sure he tightened something up he couldn't remember. Everything was wonderful. We were very pleased with Liberty.

I've been a Liberty Home Guard customer for a few years now and I’ve never once been denied coverage. I do get the sense that they are growing really fast and struggle a bit there, because I rarely have spoken with the same agent twice, but I also got the sense that they genuinely want to make their customers as happy as they can. They do a pretty good job of executing on that sentiment as well. Definitely will be renewing my plan.

I thought my plumbing was covered. When they went out, they said, "Only up to $250." I checked with other home warranty companies, they don't have such a limit. So, I canceled my policy with Liberty. But they were responsive. The vendor they sent out was okay and quick, too. The warranty just didn't pay what I thought it would.

My garage door got stuck and would not budge. I had an important appointment I needed to drive to the next day. I got on with Liberty (and if I’m being honest, may have been a bit frantic), and they said they would make every effort to expedite dispatching a repairman. An hour later, I got a call that one of their repairmen will come after he finishes for the day. That evening, the repairman was at my house at 8pm and worked until 11pm to fix the issue. I was so grateful to him and Liberty that I felt obligated to share this experience. Thank you, for being so understanding and responsive!

In the past 3 years, we’ve submitted about 6 claims with Liberty so far through their warranty program. They never have long hold times when we call and their customer service is always quick to address our issues. They just seem very proactive as well as flexible with us in finding the solution that leaves us the least inconvenienced. And the technicians who are assigned have done a good job in completing the necessary work. Literally every time. I keep recommending this warranty plan to all our friends. It did take him two trips because he needed to get the right part, but otherwise I’m happy with Liberty Home Guard’s service and platform. They also had a specialist follow up after the claim who explained to me how I could avoid this breakdown from happening again.

I was looking for more coverage for my electronics, my roof, and more things around the house. I was told that Liberty offered that. However, it has not been good with them. I don't even bother to call them. I'm just waiting for my contract to end so I can switch. When I filed a claim for my exhaust fan, I had to end up paying half of the installation and that took months to get somebody out there. When Liberty scheduled, the first two technicians were no call, no show. Then I was told by Liberty that I had to use that same technician. If not, I will be charged again. I was pissed about that and that was the last straw for me.
The customer service and the technicians were horrible. It's been a Horror them them. They're very unprofessional. I was told that was all the contractors they had in my area, and if I wanted to have somebody else, that I would have to pay. That was false advertising because I was told when I was being solicited that they had more contractors than any other home warranty company. Liberty is not a good home warranty company. They're probably one of the worst.

I used Liberty a couple of times and both times, I've been happy with them. I had some problems with my air conditioner and they sent somebody out. They repaired it and I paid the $75. The other one was a leaky faucet and they took care of that. But Liberty seems to take a little longer to get people here. When we called for air conditioning, it took them three days to get somebody here.

We had a leak in our master bathroom, and all was handled timely and efficiently by Liberty and their plumber. We are very satisfied with the service we were provided. The plumber that came to service the issue had nothing but glaring things to say about them.

We had our refrigerator and our stove go out at the same time. The freezer had built up frost inside. I never had a frostless one before, so I didn't realize that I needed to get rid of that, but we did. And that took care of that. The stove needed a new igniter. It took a long time to get the part. But that wasn't Liberty's fault. It’s just Samsung parts are hard to get right now. Other than that, everything went fine. They’ve sent out the repair people and the repair people did their job. Everything works now. Liberty Home Guard is good. They did what they said they were gonna do. Worth the money.

We used to have American Home Shield and that company seemed to get people out a little quicker. But the couple of claims we've done have worked out pretty well. The first was for a garbage disposal and we got that worked out. The second involved some toilets and we're still trying to get that worked out. We're waiting to hear from them what kind of coverage amounts.

Liberty has been great. The enrolment process was smooth. The techs have been helpful and really informative. The most recent claim I filed was for my refrigerator that was leaking water. They called a company to replace a fan. The only thing was I had to pay half. They only cover a portion. So that claim was kind of weird. The other two claims I had, they covered everything. I paid the service call fee, and then they did the rest.

The lady on the phone was very nice. But they told me I had a $75 co-pay. Then, it became $150. The first time I had to use Liberty, it was on a weekend and my entire sewage system was completely backed up into my house. Everything was a nightmare. They wouldn't get a hold of me and they wouldn't help me. I had to wait the whole weekend. So, we had to leave. Also, I had an appointment for somebody to come for my plumbing and then I cancelled it. But they sent the tech out anyway so I'm sure I got billed for that. I just haven't had time to look ‘cause I travel. I never had these problems with the other warranty company.
Check if your warranty is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. I'm not used to not being able to get a hold of somebody and just being like, “Well, sorry. We'll take care of you on Monday,” even though sewage is backed up on my shower and on my floors.

Liberty is much better and less expensive than my previous service. I've also had better communication. Some of the people from the previous warranty were a little shady. They came in vehicles that weren't marked. At one point, they borrowed our tools. So, so far, I'm very pleased with Liberty. Look into this company. I've used them twice and I'm fine with the service.

The person that sold me the policy totally mislead me when I asked specifically about southwest tile roof leaks being covered. He stated that minor leaks were covered. I had 2 minor leaks and they were denied because the rep stated that 2 of the tiles had to be replaced. NOWHERE in the roofing company report did it state that ANY tiles needed to be replaced, simply that they would be set aside and re-used after the repair was done. Also, they charged me the usual fee when it was I who had to find a roofing company as they were unable to locate one for my home in the Phoenix metropolitan area.
This is a totally fraudulent company with terrible customer service people that are taught to tell you nothing but lies. The young man that sold me the policy also stated that high end appliances were also covered as I specifically asked; ie Thermador stove & refrigerator. When I received the written policy, it stated that they WERE NOT COVERED! I have never been able to reach him on the phone. Buyers beware!!!

Liberty Home Guard refused repair my AC compressor, which is covered by my policy, by claiming that it is a valve that caused the issue. However, the company who did the evaluation did not say a valve caused the issue. They wrote the following to Liberty Home Guard: "Customer informed me garage unit was not cooling properly. Inspected unit and noticed compressor was not functioning properly which indicates compressor is bad. Informed customer and home warranty of issue and recommended home warranty replace system due to its age and cost to replace compressor. Home warranty wanted a price for system replacement. Liberty refused to send me a copy of the above, so I had to get it from the technician's company. They became extremely aggressive on the phone by refusing to answer questions and strangely, accusing me of trying to change words, despite the word valve never found in writing on any report sent or on my site portal. Why would I change words if it was in my favor? My mind was blown when he said this. They obviously appear to be trying to get out of this expensive repair. They've escalated my issue for a 2nd time, but it's already a terrible experience. On my other water heater claim, I lost several weeks calling back over and over to get it processed. Zero positive experiences with this company so far.

I wanted and should have posted this review earlier. I am a hands-off landlord who lives in a different state with a 5-property umbrella policy, which I transferred over from Choice Home Warranty. Having had this policy for over a year I can give an honest review. I was going to write a review much earlier due to my negative experiences with their claims (13 total claims), but I was talked into not posting it by their senior management.
In addition, I was on the verge of canceling all of my policies several times, but was "legally bribed" $200 for not posting my negative (but true) review of this company online. I was then contacted by a senior manager, who proceeded to assure me that he will be personally assisting with claims under my account going forward. This helped for about 1 claim, but below is the description of a claim that made me finally end my relationship and cancel all of my policies with them.
I filed a claim on Sunday (7/11/2021) for my tenant, who had his AC go out - it was nearly 100 degrees that day and most days thereafter while this claim lasted (about 2 weeks). On Monday a technician came out to look at it. The tech told me that he had the parts needed for the repair in his warehouse and he could finish the job the following day. However, he notified me that Liberty Home Guard did not approve the covered items and was going to ship their own part to the technician. Then they also notified me that I'd have to pay $175 for parts, although this whole claim should have been covered in full.
I still never received an explanation as to why the whole claim was not covered as it should have been under the policy. After a few days' delay tactic, they had me sign a waiver that I'd pay this extra amount in order to move forward with the repair. They knew I'd sign it because at that point it's been a few days and as a landlord I just wanted to get the repair done at that point and I had no way out as I couldn't pay the tech directly to just finish the job. They used this against me later on.
Fast forward to following Friday (7/23/2021) there was still no resolution. The goons that they have sitting in their call centers are professional deflectors and will keep passing you around or put you on hold until you give up. I have wasted several hours of my time on more than one occasion with them. My tenant has a small baby and it's been nearly 100 degrees here every day since the claim started and stayed like that over the weekend. This is a liability for me as a landlord and an additional expense that I will have to pay for temporary accommodations!
They promised me a resolution by today, but surely I didn't hear anything over the weekend as their parts department is closed on weekends. They were going to ship out a part, which I had to sign a statement AND pay for the part. They promised to ship it out on Monday (7/26/2021), but at that point I had a very hard time believing that judging by my overall experience. I was not sure what to tell my tenant at this point....
Monday was compete radio silence from their parts department. Tuesday I had to call in and follow up for the tracking information, but was then informed by their parts manager that their supplier had it on back-order and never shipped anything out the previous week. They assured me that they will ship another part and it should arrive to the tech by Thursday (7/29/2921). They did so, however, Technician went to install it to only find out that they sent a wrong part! I then disputed the $175 charge on my card because they couldn't even send out the correct part after 2 weeks, however, they then proceeded to keep saying that I signed the paper and there is nothing they can do.
They didn't even offer to take that charge off as a courtesy, which should have been fully covered by the claim in the first place and then they managed to send the wrong part after 2 weeks. That is some shady arm-twisting practices that I've come to expect from home warranty companies and I was naive enough to believe that Liberty Home Guard was different. They are not. Now they deactivated my policy altogether and did not refund me the prorated amount as per policy contract.
This was turning into circus at that point. I had to reimburse my tenant financially due to the amount of time this was taking. I should have just used my contractor straight up for this and will do so for all repairs in the future. They have no remorse for people or conditions that they have caused with their delaying tactics.
These warranty companies are just worth the time and money that you have to spend dealing with their claims. It will save you time and resources to pay for parts and labor directly. This company is no different than any other home warranty company. They will point to their "stellar" reputation on BBB and other consumer review sites, but do be aware of the legal bribes that they pay customers to not post negative reviews on these sites.
I wouldn't be surprised if they get hit with a class action lawsuit soon, similar to an ongoing lawsuit against Choice Home Warranty because their sleazy business practices are nearly identical. I am posting this honest review in hopes that people learn from my mistakes and avoid this home warranty company (and all other ones for that matter) and use a good contractor to do all repairs directly.

Liberty Home Guard does not make it hard to submit a claim and see where the claim is in the process. They are the first home warranty company that I know of that is over-communicative. For example, last week the garage opener got stuck, and the customer service representative called me right after their system notified that a technician was assigned. Liberty’s warranty works just as the person I signed up with said it would. Unlike other salespeople, he did not promise me the world but did assure me the service would be reliable and save me money. We had a pool issue and the technicians who came were timely and had us back up and running that day, even though the pump had to be replaced. They also explained to me how to ensure that it doesn’t break again. Thank you, Liberty, for always being there for us.

I purchased Liberty Home Guard because its high ratings with the BBB. We have always had a home warranty but our company was no longer providing service in our area. We chose to insure the pool pump add. After 30 days with the company the board went all of a sudden. We placed the claim and at first they said it was not covered. We had to email them the part of our contract that said it was covered. They could not get anyone here to check it out so they told us to get our own, we did.
After 3 weeks waiting they told us that it would pay only 250.00 (out of 780.00) claim because it had broken within 90 days of our contract and the max would have been 500.00. We checked our contract and it was mentioned in the last page in very small print. We can cancel because we would lose our money. Please read the contract!! This people want to collect but not pay out. We have never had any other companies in the past that do do. We will find another one for our other 2 homes.

I bought a Liberty Home Guard warranty about 3 months ago. They were extremely rude to me, they also jacked my price up for service from $75 to $120 without telling me. My ac went out and I live on Arizona. Their people called me 3 days later after I made the claim. At that point I called my own people to come out and asked liberty for a cash out. They said, "Fine get it replaced and send us the invoice." Well they then turned around and said my replacement wasn't approved and left me with the bill. I then wanted to cancel my policy and they gave me a low ball offer of $200 when I have given them almost $600 for a full year 3 months ago. Then today a "senior director" called me today and said he give me a full refund if I took my reviews down. So they tried to hold me over a barrel with my own money. I told them no and I'm letting everyone know that they pay for reviews and are a complete scam!!

My faucet started leaking. I did not buy the faucet coverage but my account manager encouraged me to give Liberty a call even if I was not sure they could help. I’m happy I did because they were able to help, they had a plumber at my house two days later and were still able to save me 40% on the repair work.

I did a lot of research, both mainly customer reviews and a survey. There's not a single company out there which satisfies everybody, but Liberty Home Guard was the one which had, in general, very positive reviews. Reading reviews, which showed that mostly people are happy with Liberty, was the biggest reason why I decided to go with them. When I initially reached out, whoever was helping me was a little pushy for my liking. That person wanted me to make a decision right away and I said I couldn't because I needed to discuss it. I reached out again because I was impressed with the offering and the reviews that they overtook my other feelings about the first person.
The second day, when I wanted to buy the plan, was smooth. However, some things which were promised to me were not delivered, so I called back. The first time, whoever helped me then said they could not help me at all. I said, “I want to cancel the plan.” They were like, "Fine. You can go ahead and do that. It didn't matter to me.” For me, that was a very bad interaction. I called at another time on a weekend and I got somebody else. That person was able to help me with one of my issues, and they told me to call back on Monday, and the other problem would be fixed. I called up, and it was fixed. If I had not persisted and gotten the other person after I called back again, I would have canceled the plan because whoever the third person was was very rude.

I've turned in two claims since I've had Liberty Home Guard and they were both toilets. Recently, my toilet was leaking. With the first claim I filed, I called in on a Wednesday and it took a week for somebody to get out here because they said, "Well, we'll put it in, and then we don't do around the weekends." But the next time, it was really quick. Somebody was here like the next day.

When I spoke to the sales rep, they told me that there's a $70 deductible when somebody comes then whatever repair would be repaired. When my air conditioning unit was not working properly, I paid the $70 and they sent out somebody that was a novice. They didn't know what was going on or how to fix it. Liberty had to send out another person to check behind them to properly assess the problem then they called me back that evening.
One person called me during the day and told me that it was repaired and things should be fine. Another person called me back that evening and told me that they knew what was wrong and I had to split the cost of the repair with Liberty Home Guard in order to get my air conditioning fixed. If I'm gonna pay for a home warranty and I'm paying that deductible, then why am I splitting the cost for the repair? That didn't make any sense to me and I cancelled the home warranty. Don't use Liberty Home Guard. Find somebody else.

I moved 2 weeks ago and the A/C has had issues since at least then. Luckily I had a Liberty Home Warranty with the home purchase. I called their claims department, and even though I could not tell them when the issue began, they began the process of finding me a technician right away. The workers were very professional and had my A/C fixed the next day. So far, I am very satisfied with the service.

After my refrigerator iced over, I called Liberty Home Guard. A technician was at my home within 48 hours. He told me to unplug the unit and let it thaw and then to call him. I called him the next day and he was at my house fifteen minutes after I called. He checked out my refrigerator, cleaned out a few areas and now it works like new. Liberty Home Guard has held up their end of the bargain so far.

About 10 days later, I received a call from Senior Director Aaron ** who could not stop apologizing for the unfortunate misunderstanding and immediately resolved the issue to my satisfaction offering an adequate amount of money towards our new dishwasher. Mr. ** was extremely professional, friendly, and absolutely understanding and supportive of my situation. In fact, he gave me his direct line and followed up with an email afterwards.

My dishwasher made a popping sound and shut down. Liberty sent their authorized repair person. He saw the control panel shorted out, and sent the information to Liberty. Later, I received a text message from the tech saying that the part was no longer available, and I should wait to hear from Liberty to see what they are going to do to replace it. Liberty’s “escalation” representative, Rick ** sent an email stating that this was a non-covered claim. "Liberty is neither responsible nor liable for Covered Item repairs or replacements when a Malfunction is due to: Accidents, fire, freezing, subsidence, water damage, electrical failure or surge, or excessive or inadequate water pressure.”
The tech couldn't believe this response since he's replaced control panels before using Liberty and other companies. The technician said, "electrical failure or surge" pertains to the home, not the part, but Keller said, "I don't care what the tech thinks". Keller offered $175 as a "favor" towards a new dishwasher. A comparable dishwasher is close to $1000, so if you expect this company to replace your appliance, it's not going to happen. They only offered their wholesale price on dishwashers they deemed were comparable so I checked the prices and they were $500 and weren't close to what I have. By the way, I haven't seen the check for $175, and I don't expect to either. To add insult to injury, I received, the next day, an offer to extend my warranty with them, 3 months in advance of the existing one's expiration date. If you have an attorney friend or family member, let them read the entire warranty before buying it.
Here's how it works: "Section H. Limitations & Exclusions Paragraph 10 Limits of Liability. Line (3) Within 120 days of the Purchase Date, all Covered Items are limited to 60% of the Covered Item’s Depreciated Value, and thereafter, LHG will cover up to 100% of the Covered Item’s Depreciated Value". "Purchase price ($)700. Age of Unit (in Years)18. Estimated Useful Life (in Years) 24. 100% of Depreciated Value : $ 175.00 (the amount granted towards repair or replacement)". Yep, if that's not twisted enough, they claim to know what I paid for the machine.

There was a leak and we made the claim to Liberty Home Guard. The plumber came in fairly quickly and was able to fix the issue. Reaching out to Liberty is a bit difficult. There's not always a person directly to reach. It's like almost a secondary process. Someone answers the phone if it's within the office hours. I tried to make the call on a Saturday and wasn't able to reach anybody. So, I left a voicemail. I couldn't get anybody to contact until it was Monday. It would have been much easier if someone could have just picked up the phone. The online claim process didn't work this time because there was some sort of pending status on my online portal, so I couldn't place a claim online. Overall, placing the claim wasn't the smoothest.
With the home warranty policy, I know that someone is going to be there to help with the repairs. Sometimes, it could be difficult to find a handyman to do the job in a timely manner, and having the home warranty makes it easier to get ahold of somebody eventually. One of the problems we had with the home warranty we had, which is why we switched to Liberty, was the people they would send. We could get ahold of them pretty quickly. There was always someone to answer the phone even on the weekend anytime, day or night, but the people they would send would not be able to resolve the concern in one visit. One issue I do have with Liberty is a contractor would come out, see the problem, then would have to report back to Liberty Home Guard, and it would take some time for it to be approved for that contractor to come out again. It would be good if the contractor could come in, evaluate, and get the approval to do the job the same day.

I purchased Liberty Home Guard Because it was rated number one. The 1st time I have tried to use it is in the middle of summer in Arizona where it's a 120゚. I put a claim in 3 days ago, just called to to see why I have not been called to schedule a repair. The guy was no help at all. Said I would have to call back tomorrow early. I explained to him that that will make it 4 days now in the middle of summer with no AC. He said there was nothing he could do.

I’ve submitted 6 claims in the last two years that I have been with Liberty Home Guard. While certainly not every claim went perfectly, nobody is perfect and overall they have done a superior job, especially when compared to the prior two home warranty policies that I’ve had. They also do make an effort to learn and to improve, as I‘ve seen from my past 6 claims, the more recent ones have been by far the best experiences of the bunch. So for that I give Liberty Home Guard high marks.

They literally pay for nothing. They have an excuse for everything they deny. I have had this warranty company for a few years. My AC went out and needs to be replaced. They also take their sweet time taking care of any claim. It has been almost 3 weeks and still my AC has not been replaced. They are still working on paperwork. They are not going pay to replace as they claim to do. Of the $4500 to replace they are only paying $400. Same with my water heater that went out. They literally pay nothing or very little. NOT WORTH IT!!! Their only goal is to get customers to sign up. They have no intention of paying for anything. They outsource their call center to another country and like all such call centers, they just read off a script and do nothing to help you!!! They come up with all kinds of random scam excuses as to why a said replacement or repair is not covered. DO NOT GET THIS HOME WARRANTY COMPANY!!!

We needed help with the HVAC unit which was making some trouble recently, and the tech serviceman whom Liberty has sent delivered! No more noise, no more trouble. Our total home plan was the right choice for us and we highly suggest you do the same. Slightly pricier than other companies, but well worth it.

Never buy Liberty Home Guard for your warranty. They play tricks on customer. Our AC unit is down recently and we file a claim but they decline to fix or replace cause the technician can't find the part. All they are offering is $250 asking us to deal by ourselves. What we are asking is to get the AC unit functioning especially now it's summer time. They ignore our request and we have made many phone calls to communicate but all what we get is they can't do anything to resolve but the $250 for a part not existing now even they know we can't do anything about the AC with the $250. We have been their customer for the 2nd year and this is how they treat their customer and have no capability to fix issue.

This company does not respond to the claims right away. After a couple of days they send someone who is not able to fix anything until they have the 'ok' from Liberty Home Guard. The repair may take from a week to even LHG declining coverage at all. BUT their contract states AC unit coverage -replacement 'IF' not fixable. However, they can decline coverage if one part is not in "their contract", EVEN WHEN THE PART IS NOT EVEN MENTIONED IN THEIR CONTRACT!! They refused to replace my non-fixable AC because the part that the tech reported as broken is "not in their contract" but it is NOT mentioned either!?!? This company is a fraud!

I have purchased Liberty Home Guard insurance for the 5 years. When sign the contract the sales individual told me everything is covered within the home. Then I claim first time for a faucet defect (leaking in the main shower), which Liberty Home Guard hold on for 4 days and with several phone call from my side they send an technician which just came take a look and gone, and liberty charged me $65 immediately. After another 2 days they declined the claim and ever disagree to return $65 what they charge. When I ask for cancellation of my policy and return the full money back as they have wasted my time and cheated me, now they are moving from call to call!!

My latest issue with my Air Conditioning was immediately escalated, which I appreciated. The customer service rep Jonathan, told me that prioritization of AC claims in the summer is by design in their system. He told me that the founders are former military and intentionally designed the system to intelligently triage claims, especially when volume picks up. And I have to say that Liberty Home Guard’s approach really does seem methodologically rigorous based on my experience. It’s understandable to wait a couple weeks for a new garbage disposal but doing without an AC in the heat is just untenable. Even though AC replacements seem to be much more complex than replacing something straightforward like a garbage disposal.

Their customer service reps really care. I was on the phone with Fernando for a long time to explain the issue and unique circumstances in my home. This happened on a Sunday afternoon, and on Monday morning their technician was at my place inspecting our AC system. He was actually able to fix the issue during that visit. I was actually so surprised he was able to do so, so quickly that I intentionally waited a few weeks before writing this review to see if the repair stuck and thankfully it has.

I signed up and paid in full, the first problem was the deductible fee was jacked from $60 to $125, it takes 5 calls to the company; the outcome was they refused to honor the $60 and lower it to $80. Second, I have an issue with the refrigerator, I filed a claim and paid $80, after 3 days I have to call them and ask for the claim to be assigned to a tech, they assign it a LAMARTIN Station, and said they will call in 24 hours for appointment. I called the tech. They took my name and said they will call back, they never call back. I called and ask customer service for help. They gave me a run around with three different representatives. Each one asked “What is your name. We will call you," and finally hanged up on me.
We have to buy a chest freezer, and our food are now in the porch waiting for them to send a tech. 1/31/2021 I hired a tech and paid $99 to diagnose, he found a leak, LGH said not covered and offer to sell me a refrigerator??? I asked BBB for help. It is been 6 months of refusal to fix or repair the Fridge. I also asked NY attorney general office for help. They refused to collaborate and I get a letter from the office, asked me to file a small claim. I filed a small claim. It was dismissed because of "Mandatory Arbitration". Beware of this fake company to take your money and get you nothing. Really a terrible company to deal with, I regret signing up with them.

The service for fixing our oven was very good and I did not have to wait too long. The technician was very friendly and courteous.. He was knowledgeable and seemed really motivated to help us. He also had good things to say about Liberty Home which was encouraging. I switched to Liberty Home Guard from American Home Shield a little over a year ago, what a mistake, I never had an issue with American Home Shield, I was just trying to save money. In the past year I tried to use their service 2 times, at a rental we have covered by them we had a leaky valve in the shower we needed repaired, after sending a plumber they said that we only had the service for 6 months and they would only cover 20% of the cost so I paid to have it fixed.
Now about 2 weeks ago our AC went out at our house, I called Liberty Home Guard and they sent out a service tech to inspect the unit (All good so far), the AC tech checked it out and determined that the compressor went bad and sent his report to Liberty. After about a week I hadn't heard anything so I called Liberty to see if they received the report, they did but said that they determined that it was caused by an internal electrical short in the compressor and they don't cover it?
My takeaway from the conversation was they really didn't cover anything? At the end of our conversation I had to ask myself what I was paying them for? Beware of what your buying, I asked about the coverage and was told any issue my AC unit had would be covered, they lied. My advice, save your money, Liberty Home Guard will gladly take your money month in and month out but when it comes down to covering the repair costs more than likely you will be paying out of your own pocket, IMO they will use any excuse possible not to pay...

Liberty Home Guard is the only home warranty company that operates truthfully and as advertised. They don’t just tell you that everything is covered, overpromising and under-delivering. If anything they do the opposite. On my first claim, the repairman was above expectations and knew what he was doing. Our dryer works like brand-new. I would give zero stars if I could. They are so shady. You can never cancel because they have a clause that any cancellations incur a $50 cancellation fee plus payback for any services provided. So if you have a plumber come out and it cost them $300 for the service If you cancel, it will cost you $350 if you cancel your policy with them. This is so shady. DO NOT TRUST THEM.

My claims experience - The technician diagnosed the problem, ordered the correct part, and installed it as soon as it came in which was around 5 days after he was by us. He was polite and very nice and so were the folks on the phone who scheduled him. Scheduling the appointment was fine, not much hassle. My fridge works now and that's all I care about.

LHG took accountability with my claim. We could not repair my AC unit so they replaced it in full. I saved multiples of what I spent on my policy, and I am so happy I went with them. They were also able to facilitate the entire replacement within a week, which I was shocked about. With everything going on lately it seems like nothing happens on time and everything is delayed but Liberty Home Guard was able deliver when others can’t.

My aircon was working fine and then it just would not turn on all of a sudden. The rep who came to my place explained what went wrong, and how we should fix it. It took him a few hours on the same day (I was told later that Liberty Home Guard’s system had automatically notified him the details of the unit and breakdown so he had the parts on hand). I was just so impressed by that intelligent process from a home warranty company that it turned me into a customer for life. Deny deny deny! That is what LHG does with any major claim, no matter how valid. My experience with them has been that if they cannot profit off your claim, they will deny it. And that is what you get IF they bother to get back to you (I am still waiting over 8 months on some claims), they will fabricate excuses to avoid coverage. I had two houses covered, and in both houses after the people who came out could not repair the AC units, they refused to cover their replacement. When the pool pump went out, they refused to cover a new pump. Stay away, in my humble opinion.

I went with Liberty because they promised customer service, ease of contact and quick resolutions. I now have my 1st claim, which has been under review for 2 weeks for a new water heater. Liberty claims that they can't reach the tech which is completely untrue. The tech has actually reached out to them several times on my behalf to try and resolve. He is being told by Liberty that the holdup is me. Every time I call I get pushed to a different department with a promise of a call back, which never happens. I have been told there are no supervisors that can be contacted or spoken to. I am basically, hostage to their lack of response and now 2 weeks without hot water in my house is beyond frustrating. At this point, I regret choosing Liberty as my home warranty company. Additionally, the sales person who promised to be my personal agent does nothing but quickly forward me to another department that is a long hold going nowhere.

I had filed a claim and a tech came out. I called to see the status. They transferred me to account department, I was told that lack of maintenance they are not paying the full claim, I work in property management for 7 years and I never heard that a fan motor and a capacitor goes out due to lack of maintenance. This is an insult to my intelligence. They only said that not to pay the full claim. So I asked what are the stipulation to cancel. He provided me with the information and didn't attempt to save the account. I called the tech. to ask him what was the diagnoses to the AC. He said it was wear and tear and I mention the the representative said it was due to lack of maintenance. Long story short they will take your monthly payments but dare to file a claim they will short change you.

No urgency to resolve a claim. Our AC went out, we made claim on 03.25.2021, the tech came out two days later & informed us our compressor needs to be replaced. The tech never submitted the diagnostic to Claims Department until 03.29, after I reminded him several times to please do so. Now Liberty does not know if they will cover the compressor because they don’t know the past maintenance (we purchased 6 months ago and there was no reports of any issues with HVAC at the time).
According to our inspection report there was not one single issue with our HVAC. I’m Not sure why it’s so hard to see if a part is covered or not. I do not feel right about this situation and seems very unfair/shady for them to keep us waiting 6 days with no working AC just to tell us if they’ll even send a tech back out or not. After several conversations they told us the issue may be resolved in a few days, which will put our family over a week without an answer or a resolved solution. If you’re purchasing a pre owned home, I strongly recommend to look at other companies. Claim #**.

NO STARS FOR THIS COMPANY!!! I purchased a policy from Liberty Home Guard for dates 11/16/19 to 1/15/21. I did not use them at all during this period. Around September of 2020 I started getting daily emails and texts about renewing. I called to discuss and I am not kidding when I say they were rude and very pushy. I caught one guy in a lie as he told me this rate would not be honored once I hung up the phone, then I called the guy I used before and it was him!!!! He acted like a different person. Very shady dealings and extreme hard selling, it does not bother me, but I feel so sorry for the vulnerable and elderly that have no idea.
I purchased a second policy and when my AC went out they would not fix or replace....but wait, they really had my best interest and wanted to sell me one of their units at a discounted price. Three techs said this was not right of them, also the countless hours and hold times and different departments they send you to is just ridiculous. I could go on and on, I cancelled in January of 2021 with formal letter and they just now cancelled my policy in March. Please don't use this company, they are not good people, and if you do be sure to use a major credit card so you can dispute, believe me you will need it.

I paid all my monthly premiums on time, All was fine till my fan in my Refrigerator went out so I filled a claims that when this company showed their true colors. They told I had to give them $75 for deductible. Ok so I paid it and no one showed up so I wrote a Google review then I was told by management Sam ** if I removed the review they would waive the $75 fee and give me back my money. So I did.
A month later a tech shows up with no clue who was paying him and also had to get the work order approve by LHG requiring another $75 deductible fee. 2 weeks later claims department tell me they will pay for the $25 replacement part and I would have to pay for tech's labor and they would get back to me on it. 3 months later no repairman. Repairman said he had his part ready to fix the refrigerator. Liberty Home Guard had another part that was being shipped to me but never shows up. Then I call claims department and they said that they didn't have the part model number that they had to get it from the tech but collected another monthly premium payment. Then I called claims department they tell me my refrigerator was under the GE warranty and it was no longer covered under Liberty Home Guard. Really what am I paying for ?

My dishwasher broke and was actively leaking water. Turned out it was actually a pipe that was near the dishwasher. I was in a panic and called Liberty right away. The reps explained to me, step by step, how to stop the active leak and they also prioritized a plumber. They told me a plumber in their network was actually in the area wrapping up a job and that they would see if they could get him to stop by my house on the way. The plumber was at my house in 25 minutes and was actually able to fully fix the issue later that day. I could not be happier with their service.

They decided to save me on the hassle of waiting for a technician, and they just shipped the replacement directly to us. The technician they found to install the new disposal did a great job! Liberty Home is the worst. Absolutely the worst company I've ever dealt with in my life. I've been in customer service for forty years and have NEVER been treated this way. They have no integrity. They lie and put you off, never responding to your concerns. I call them regarding my range issue in September, they promised my 86 year old MOM that they would fix it before the holidays. After November I contacted them of which resulted in a lie, they got back to me in December indicating they could NOT find the part, therefore offering me 200. Dollars as my unit was too old. (10) years. I became so frustrated and was then offered a replacement for about 1400.00 dollars. I became so angry ???? I simply asked for the two hundred dollars they then wanted a receipt, my blood pressure exploded. Only after threatening to go live on a review did they back off.
10 days later I received a check with no signature name other than Liberty. This company is a con job, if you value your money and mental state stay away from THESE hypocrites and thrives. They provide no senior manager ever to resolve your issues. I've would never recommend them to anyone except to tell THEM how bad they are. STAY AWAY.

This was my first time using LHG, I put in the claim to fix my refrigerator, lost most of the food because the refrigerator is warm, and as of today (12 days later!) it has NOT been fixed. The service fee got charged right away but the job still not done. A refrigerator is not something that can wait weeks to be repaired, Totally unacceptable.

I submitted a claim on 8/07/20 for my LG freezer that would not reach proper temperature. It wasn't until 11/03/20 that a representative finally admitted they were not going to be able to complete the repair and I should just contact LG. However, the 5 year limited warranty on the Fridge expired during this battle with Liberty Home Guard (LHG)! I did contact a new technician with Texas AC & Heat, who came out the same week and repaired the freezer. It took LHG 90 days of stringing me along to admit they could not complete the repair. It took Texas AC & Heat 2 days to repair the fridge. The bill was $350 and the LG representative explained that if the limited warranty had not already expired, they would have refunded me any labor costs. In other words, I lost $350 plus the $260 I've paid LHG over 4 months because of LHG's incompetence and/or fraud.
I submitted many concerns via email on 9/30/20, as was suggested by a representative who would not pass my call along to a manager. I never received a response to the email. Then I submitted another email on 10/20/20 asking for a refund of at least $260 as a sign of good faith, since that is the money I paid them but they were not able to complete the work. I did receive an apology from Aaron G and a statement that they would draft a refund. I received a drafted settlement two weeks later on 11/5/20 (after I had already been billed for another month of $45) for the amount of $45. I called and emailed again and they refused to even offer me a refund for the $80 deductible. Keep in mind, this $45 refund was dependent on me signing a legal non-disclosure agreement (which begs the question, how many other customers have paid for services they could not or would not fulfill?)
I filed a complaint with BBB on 11/20/20 and 2 months later got a call from Aaron G again. He said the previous refund offer still stood if I signed a non-disclosure agreement and then he said, and I quote, “There is no refund due here- I’m going above and beyond, I didn’t even need to schedule this call with you.” This is completely unacceptable customer service.
Below is a list of 3 months worth of events that outline LHG's incompetence and/or fraud.
1.) We started with LHG in Summer of 2019 and submitted our first and only claim on 8/07/20 that our freezer would not reach proper temperature. When I called to submit the claim the representative suggested I use the web-based portal as that would be "easier." When I went into the portal it said my home warranty had been cancelled. I knew that was false because we were up to date on payments for the past 12 months. I had to call back and wait on hold again. The second representative corrected the cancelled status and suggested I submit the claim over the phone- contradicting the first representative.
2.) After the technician came out the first time, he concluded the issue was likely the control panel and that I would need to call LHG to get a new panel for the fridge. I did so and gave the exact specifications of the fridge including serial number and model numbers. They said they would ship out the part and I would receive it in about 7 days.
3.) A week later, the part had not arrived so I called LHG and they said the part was never shipped. They also said I needed to call LG instead because the compressor was under warranty. I explained that while the compressor was under warranty, the control panel was NOT. This representative really confused me because the technician said I needed a new control panel, not a new compressor, but he insisted I needed to contact LG for a new compressor as well. I reached out to the technician who confirmed we did not need a new compressor just the control panel.
4.) I called LHG again and restated what the technician said. Then LGH said they did not have the serial or model number on file and would therefore need me to send it to them again. The representative was unable to explain why the part was never ordered in the first place. They said they would call when the part was officially ordered. However, they did NOT call and instead the part just arrived while we were out of state. We had to arrange a friend to come to the house and retrieve the package so it wouldn't sit out for a week.
5.) The part arrived and a week later the technician came to install. That is when he discovered we were sent the WRONG control board. I called and talked to an LHG rep who asked me to email him a screenshot of the EXACT control board the technician needed ordered. He confirmed he received the email and the part would be sent out.
6.) A week later the part had not arrived so I called LHG and was on hold for 35 minutes before I finally got the answer that no- it was never actually ordered. He said, "I'm sorry this won't happen again." That was indeed frustrating because this was the SECOND time LHG did not follow through with the promise to send the part.
7.) The technician came a week later to install. Not only did it not work, now the fridge won't reach the proper temp and all the food in the fridge has gone bad and the ice maker has stopped working!
8.) A new technician came to the house on 10/10/20. Every time I called LHG over the course of the next 3 weeks (5 separate calls) I was told they were trying to find a technician who could do the repair and I would get a call back. Not once did I receive a call back.
9.) When I called on 11/03/20 I finally spoke to Max who said I should just call LG directly to have them do the repair. By this point the 5 year limited warranty on my refrigerator had expired and it cost me $350 to do the repair- the technician came out THE NEXT DAY and fixed the fridge that LHG was taking over 3 months to do. LG explained that if this repair was done before October, they would have not charged or refunded the cost of labor as part of the 5 year limited warranty but the window had passed while LHG was stringing me along.

The team sent someone out quickly to inspect our refrigerator to determine whether a repair or replacement was warranted. LHG's technician determined that the unit could be repaired and he actually had the spare part in his office. He was back at my house the next day and facilitated the repair.

My first claim was on a broken garbage disposal. I called to submit the claim, and within a few minutes, I received a response that included the name of the plumber and the time he would come. The plumber came that day and replaced the disposal, which had a cracked case. Liberty Home guard was prompt, as was the repair.

We have recently had to place six different service calls (between two units in a triplex). The service has been excellent - there is always a representative available. The technicians that LHG has sent to us have all been knowledgeable and timely (next business day service call and all the issues resolved with a single visit). We had never used a home warranty company before, and we were about a month and a half in with another home warranty company we went through. We had to wait for the 30 days with this other company and within one to two claims, they were shoddy with their customer service. It wasn't so much the claim by the time that was done, it was the callback to being able to contact somebody. It was terrible, so I wanted to look into other options. I looked at ConsumerAffairs first and I did more research with Liberty. I saw that they had good ratings and I was very pleased when I saw the reviews, so I chose them. I called on the phone and the application was super easy. Liberty has been a breath of fresh air to deal with. We have four properties that are insured by them and we’re very pleased.
I'm very satisfied with the plan. We've had three claims and the repair people have been superb. All of them have been first class. I never heard of one of them and when I researched them, they were 45 minutes away. I liked them, so I'm going to start using them for other services. There was also a plumbing company that's very reputable in our county that they had never used before. When we had a plumbing issue, Liberty called them and worked it out with them. Some businesses don't want to work with home warranty companies, but the plumber said that Liberty paid them upfront. The quality was very good.

I was searching for a new home warranty because I was with a different one and I got in contact with Sam ** from Liberty Home Guard. He informed me that there is no wait Time because they have people on call all day long and The claim process is quicker. Since I started I tried to put one claim in and I called several times and I had to get someone to call me back because no one was available. Then I when I finally gave up and I submitted my claim online and the service fee was 85 dollars which I agreed on 65. When I seen the 85 I had no idea where that price even came from and no one could give me a answer. After paying it and submitting the claim the Plumber came out to look at my bathtub and they tried to get a hold of LHG also after and could not reach them after several attempts.
After a week later I finally got a hold of LHG and they informed me that they would not cover the problem because it was impossible that it started within the two days the claim started and it was pre existing. Now honestly I am confused because if you think about it why do you pay for a home warranty plan to find out that they not actually there for you when you need them. I personally would never recommend this company to anyone.

LHG is a company that sticks by their commitments. When we first moved in, we had a water heater that wasn't heating, and they sent a technician out immediately. It turned out that it was just a minor adjustment that needed to be done to get it working.

I had a great conversation with Sam who was the sales guy. He did a great job explaining the policy. I had been burned by several home warranties that were great at one thing which is collecting your payment. When it comes time to make a claim, it is finger-pointing. I told Sam that was my experience with other home warranty companies and he said, "We have an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau. We have a very large network." He also talked about the pest control, gutter cleaning and roof leak checking and repair which sounded great. I don't need to be on a ladder getting leaves out of my gutter. I almost signed up for the three-year $3,000 plan but I thought to see what the reality is in the first year then we can renew it if it's a good experience.
I have some older equipment. I live in a house that was built in 1992. I've got an air conditioner that's 20 years old but it's working like a champ. I've got a washer and a dryer that are probably six years old. I had a hot water heater that hadn't had any issues but it was 13 years old. We had lived in the house for five years and I hadn't called someone out to service the hot water heater to de-scale it. The guy was talking about replacing units if there's a problem. I had other home warranties that cut corners and I asked if Liberty replaces kind for kind. He said they do. I bought the policy and nothing was asked about everything working in the house. Nothing was stated about a waiting period or them sending an inspector out to check everything. Everything in the house was working when I bought the policy.
About 15 days in, I wanted to get my pest control done and the leaves are falling here in South Carolina. I was excited to use my plan. I called in and they said my policy's not active for 31 days. 20 days later, the hot water heater went hot then bleeped out on cold and turned cold. It only happened once but I thought of getting it serviced. They said, "No, you mentioned your hot water heater in your call to your salesman. That's a pre-existing condition. We're not covering that." They sent a tech out who said "What I read on google is just that your igniter or your valve control is bad. I don't want to mess with it. It's above my pay grade." The caliber of people they're sending out is not good. If a guy shows up and tells you, "This is above my pay grade. Can I have the $75 anyway," that's red flag number one.
Liberty sent another guy who came out two days later. The company was One Call Plumbing and the guy didn't live up to the name. He said, "That unit is fried. I'm gonna recommend they replace it." I didn't buy a home warranty so I could get brand-new equipment. I did buy it because I have older equipment and it was time to start protecting the house. I got a nine-to-five job I got to take care of and this is why people get home warranties. I got a phone call and sure enough, that claim was denied. They said it's pre-existing though it's not. Red flag number two is when something happens, they don't want to pay.
I asked for a supervisor and they put a supervisor on. I said, "I really enjoyed talking with Sam. If you get a 31-day waiting period to protect your interest, I understand that but disclose that on the front end so everybody's on the same page. Be crystal clear about what the ground rules are." He said, "Sam does a great job for us. He's one of our more honest salesmen." He probably misspoke but to say that somebody is one of their more honest salesmen, what does that make the rest of their salesmen? Crooks and thieves? That was red flag number three.
He said, "I'll offer you $350." I said, "How about you give me my money back and I'll leave an honest review and we'll just go our separate ways?" He said, "That's extortion. You're threatening me with a negative review." I said, "No, sir. I'm not threatening you with a negative review. I'm saying that the way you treat people matters and my truth is valid. I've signed an affidavit stating I knew nothing about this and that everything was functioning when I purchased the policy. That is 100% true."
They said they were going to give me a refund. What's crazy is they sent me a refund but it was a gag order. Point-six in the clause was, "You can't leave a review." No wonder these guys got an A+ rating. If you put a gag order on anybody that's ever gonna say something negative about your company, it's easy to get an A+ rating. I really want the home warranty. I'm really bummed because if I could hit the reset button on this thing, I would undispute the charges and would tell them, "I went down there yesterday and tinkered with the hot water heater. It's working again." But they're sending people that don't know what they're doing and it's gotten so messy at this point.

My garage door wouldn't go up and down. It took about a week for Liberty to fix it but the technician fully addressed the problem and replaced it with a new one. I also have a current claim for a dryer and a tech is supposed to come out tomorrow. Overall, Liberty has been doing fine. Things just take a bit longer than I would have hoped.

We just bought a house and we were looking at getting service. We thought of using American Home Shield, which we had previously. Then, looking at something on the web and doing comparisons, we came across Liberty Home Guard. There was some sort of comparison chart that showed a grading of home warranty services and based on that, we thought, “Well, we've had experience with American Home Shield for quite a few years.” We thought we’d try somebody different that seemed to grade out a little better.
We applied to Liberty Home Guard over the phone, which, as opposed to filling out paperwork or going to a website, was different. But it was okay. It was kinda difficult to make an informative decision without really being able to lay things out in front of oneself and kinda try to figure out which could be the best plan for our situation. I suppose it would have been helpful. They offer a discount but I wasn't thrilled to hear, “Well, you gotta buy it today or in the next 24 hours, or you lose this opportunity.” That kind of stuff doesn't get my attention very much.
One thing that I was a bit bothered was we had just barely moved into the house. I called on the 4th of October. We just signed the papers on the 25th of September. There is a 30-day period before the policy kicks in. I would have thought maybe there would have been something that would have been available. They said, “Well, you did buy this house. We do kick in sooner or whatever the case may be.” That weekend, before I knew whatever the problem was, we had a problem with pipes freezing. It was 65 to 70 degrees outside. It turned out there was a furnace that had to be replaced but because it's within that 30-day period of signing up, it couldn't be covered. That was a major expense. I was disappointed about that. So, hopefully, there won't be anything else going wrong. But if there's something major, I'm gonna be definitely using Liberty.

I spoke with a couple of different companies and the guy at Liberty Home Guard offered me a deal because we have multiple properties. I had a service request for an electrical issue and I called them on the phone. It was easy enough. They didn't have anyone in our area, so I had to find someone. I wasn't terribly surprised that they didn't have someone in our area because those particular properties are in a very small town. So, that wasn't unexpected. They did a great job of going ahead and covering it then and they did pay for it. I was satisfied with the way they did it.
Also, I liked the salesperson that I dealt with in the beginning really well. The young lady that helped me with the claim was okay. I did get irritated that they wanted me to send in some paperwork that said that I wasn't trying to rip them off. They were all new policies. I made sure that if something happens before the policy went into effect, I didn't bother calling. So then, the first time that I did call, I got, "Well, you need to fill this out and tell us you're not trying to take advantage."
That was pretty annoying. I almost canceled all the policies over that. Then, I noticed that my property management guy when he did a claim a few weeks later, he had to fill one out too. I was like, "Wow." They have a time limit, we abide by it, and then we still get clobbered with that. That's ridiculous. But that was really the only thing negative. Liberty Home Guard was as advertised. They did what they said they would do.

I went to a site that listed the top 10 home warranty companies. I've had Total Home, AHS and somebody else. I wasn't too happy with Total Home. The agent from the site advised me that AHS was a good company, but they had expanded too much and is unable to service everybody under the program. So, I went with Liberty based on that. I thought Liberty was gonna send me a contract but I looked it up online and read the contract and it's a typical contract. There are a lot of things that aren't covered. I understand that. The things that break are not covered, but that's universal to all the home warranty companies. I was just looking for something that covered major repairs. Liberty's price was not that good, but it was good enough for me to subscribe.
Total Home was 40 months for about 2000 and their deductible was only $45. The deductible I have now is 65, but I wasn't happy with Total Home because they would take your call on weekends, but they wouldn't provide service until weekdays. If I had an emergency like a well pump went out, I had to hire somebody to provide me with a new pump because Total Home doesn't provide service on weekends. I asked Liberty's agent and he said they provide service on the weekends.
The agent I spoke to at Liberty was Sam. The other company that I talked to was rated quite high, but they didn't call me for two days after I put in my inquiry for them to call me back. Liberty called me back right away. I ended up going with Liberty because Sam was knowledgeable. He was persuasive. He was a good salesman.

Liberty Home Guard is reasonable price-wise, and so we wanted to see how it goes. We had a few different companies previously. I applied to Liberty by phone. It was pretty easy. We are taking all the appliances plus systems, and I’m paying 450 a year. It's $50 or $60 per visit when they come to check.

While submitting a claim to Liberty Home is easy, them responding is a completely different story. I'm aggravated about a couple of things with them. The technicians they have sent have been terrible. The first time I called was for my air conditioning and the tech they sent completely lied to Liberty so he can make as much money as possible. What he said was wrong was not wrong. He tried to charge Liberty $1,000 for that. It cost me $30 to fix what was wrong and Liberty still charged me the $65.
Two weeks ago, I had a septic tank claim that was approved in full. At the same time, Liberty's techs were supposed to come and get my over-the-range microwave fixed. They never showed up so I called Liberty. They said that for some reason they didn't run my claim through. They ended up running it on Monday through my debit card and took the money out for the deductible. I'm still waiting for somebody to call me. If I didn't pay for a year in advance, I would have already gone to another company.

In my experience, this is the best home warranty company I've ever dealt with. I have a home inspection company and see the bad service from other companies that is available to new homeowners. These guys offer fantastic maintenance programs and when something does fail, they're fair and super responsive. I have had Liberty Home Guard for almost a year. I have had 2 claims that were both denied. The first one was a built-in microwave. It was denied because mechanical switches are not covered. The second was a leak in my evaporator coil. The system is older and it was denied because they said that the coil was not a mechanical part. I do this for a living and rest assured the coil is a part of a mechanical system. The coil itself has a piston and cap tubes or a TV valve. It is mechanical. My company will no longer do business with any warranty company because they find a way to deny almost everything. Don't waste your time or money on this scam.

In my experience Liberty Is a great warranty company. The couple of claims that I have had were settled quickly. One was a garage door claim and when the garage found more damage than the estimate showed they quickly got the additional funds to complete the repair out. A legitimate claim, per policy, has been denied. The gas regulator to my Fisher & Paykel have seized. I called in a claim, explained "the metal piece attaching to motor covered by knobs have seized. In my attempt to turn off gas the metal rod broke inside the knob." They are denying the claim as they feel is not mechanical problem! And the age of the stovetop -13 years.

I made an appointment last week and they took $47 out of my account but they haven’t sent out my policy yet. They told me I gotta wait for 30 days to file a service request. I was with a company for two years and there was a situation that their call center where you put in your claims was in the Philippines. It was really messed up bad. I decided to change carriers and I went with Liberty Home Guard for less than 24 hours. But I discover that the salesman, Daniel, had repeatedly lied to me and told me that they had an A-plus accreditation with the BBB along with a number of other things. I should have just said I would do my research and to call me back the next day. But I didn't. I signed up with them then I did my research.
I was really disgusted and didn't like that Daniel repeatedly lied to me. After I confirmed that a number of things that he told me were not true, I started reassessing the conversation and realized that he did a number of things that used car salesmen do to get your trust and stuff. The whole thing just left a really bad taste in my mouth.
He had given me his personal extension. He told me that if I ever have a problem, I should just call him, so I did and I called him out. I said, “You told me that your company was an A-plus with the BBB and you're not even accredited,” along with a number of other things. There were thousands of complaints against this company. When I read some of their complaints and reviews, a number of the people said how charming Daniel was. I agree he was. I said something about how my grandkids call me Bobs because it’s short for Bobby and Daniel jumped on that like ants on sugar. Also, I told him that my mom was Jewish and immediately, he told me that his grandfather was Jewish and this and that. Looking back, I realized how he used every playbook in the field to make a connection with me to reassure me that he would never cheat me. It was just really sleazy. I was embarrassed at how easily I was played.
The charming, sweet, and suave gentleman that I had spoken to the day before when he was selling me a policy, changed into a very rude and different kind of person. I cancelled the policy because it literally had been 24 hours. Legally, I had 30 days. The cancellation happened so quickly and they refunded my money in a couple of days. I was initially told it could take 15 to 30 days, which didn't sit well with me, and I told the rep that. I saw the refund come through in two days. I think they realized that they had not handled the situation ethically or legally. It was not a positive experience at all and I learned a lesson. Don't believe anything a salesman tells you until you do your own due diligence.

I am in a very tight financial situation due to some medical issues. I have shopped my particular plan around numerous times. I have never found a company that has been able to beat Liberty’s rates. And their customer service when I have called in with some question or concern has always been exceptional!

I was very worried because my refrigerator stopped working. It was hot, and I was afraid all the food would go bad. I called into Liberty Home Guard and spoke with Alison, and she said they’ll deal with my problem right away as it’s an emergency. A claim was filed. They sent a technician the same day, and in a couple of hours my fridge was back to normal.

I've signed up with the company a year ago after reading the stellar reviews. The cost was acceptable and the initial interaction with the customer service team was very pleasant. However, this was the end of the good experience. The first claim I filed about a broken microwave, I was accused of fraud. After speaking with the management, the claim was processed and I finally received the appliance, which I had to install on my own.
My second experience with them was about an oven fan. The turnaround time on this claim was over a month after the initial estimate was provided by the repair company. I had to call the repairman multiple times, who stated that Liberty Home Guard does not pay the money owed, and they have terminated the contract with them. I finally begged them to finish the job, and paid for the labor myself.
The third encounter was about the HVAC trouble. The turnaround for this claim was over 2 weeks, all in the midst of the heatwave, and after all this they denied the claim. I ended up getting my own HVAC specialist and paying out of pocket for the job. Finally, I decided to cancel the policy with them. This this took 3 weeks to process from my initial call, and finally they got back to me stating that all the paid claims have to be deducted from the prorated amount of refund of $450, which left me with $0. Please save your time and money and go with another company. This insurance policy has been one of the biggest regrets of my life!

Not sure of the ‘value’ of my policy. I’ve been with them for years, without incident. I like the website. I like I change my payment date to match payroll or an unexpected expense. But I’ve been looking at changing because of the cost, others have offered lower rates, but I am skeptical since they have worse ratings than Liberty. Staying with them for now.

Our family chose Liberty Home Guard to have warranty protection with. I looked around a lot, and while it's not the cheapest, I couldn't have asked for a better company. All of my questions were answered, and as a first time homeowner at 39, I had a lot of questions. The only reason I cancelled was because my family was having health problems, so I moved back home to be with them and honestly I just don’t need the warranty right now. Once I move out again, I will be going straight back to Liberty Home Guard.

Unfulfilled Commitments and Poor Customer Experience. Having moved and purchased five homes, decided to try Liberty Home Guard due to ratings and voiced commitment to customer service. Sadly, I should have stayed with known companies. LHG is a newer company that has long call waits, finally has a new portal and looks for excuses not to service claims rather than meet the terms of the contract. Note that the contract has a limit/cap on reimbursable expenditures for the first three months. This is something that was not covered on the sales call and is hidden in the terms and conditions.
Since purchasing the service, there have been three service calls. On two of them, it took escalations to senior management to attempt to get the problem resolved. In both cases, it came down to LHG saying it would cost too much, not that the problem wasn't covered by the terms and conditions in the contract. In the latest, LHG indicated that an electrical issue would require further investigation since the cost is too high and LHG wants the homeowner to pursue other alternatives by hiring or performing investigative work at homeowner's expense, even though LHG accepts the initial diagnosis by its contracted electrician, but just doesn't like the costs.
On the second claim, the executive, David, offered some cost deferment and specifically asked me to provide a five star review noting his assistance. He made promises to improve service, cover it with his employees, and continue to better the site and overall experience. Sadly, three months later when LHG had a chance to demonstrate his words with a new claim, actions failed to deliver. Buyer beware as LHG is not the company it represents to be.

Today is Saturday, July 4th and we haven’t had water in our house since Sunday!! Let me tell you why and why to stay away from this company!! We had a pipe disconnect on Sunday night which caused us to turn off our water or it would flood our house. So I called Sunday night and she told me that they would dispatch this to claims and somebody will give me a call tomorrow. So Monday comes and nobody calls, so I called them. I tried very hard to explain to the woman on the phone what was wrong but she was not understanding and throwing in well pump and all this other stuff saying that it’s not covered and all this other stuff that was not the issue.
So finally we paid the $75, our trade fee, for them to have somebody come out within 24 to 48 hours, which is what we were told. As I have just explained earlier, today is Saturday and still nobody has come to our house to fix our issue. Who wants to be without water for 5-6 or even longer days? They’ve tried to dispatch two plumbing company to us that does not service that area. That’s the only progress we’ve have so far in 5 days!!
And when I would call, I would get “the dispatcher is working on it now and they will call you back within the hour” but nobody does. Or I would get “a plumber will call you within two hours. Maybe within a couple minutes” and nothing. So then I called back and it’s either “all representatives are busy and they will take all my information and put my call through to the next available representative and somebody will call me back” and nobody would call me for the rest of the day!! And the 24 hour thing is a joke!!
I have called, so far, 10 different times trying to get in touch with a representative and all I get is the call center and they would either take my information and mark it as urgent and send it out and still nobody will call me!! Seriously, I am so frustrated and tired of using my neighbor's hose and having to shower or wash laundry at my neighbor's house. If Monday comes and this isn’t fixed, they will be receiving a call from our lawyer. Our policy is paid in full and I will be cancelling and going somewhere else!!

Everything went fine with my recent experience with Liberty Home. I called them. They contacted a garage door company and the garage door company contacted me. The contractor seemed to know what he was doing and talking about and I was very comfortable with the service. One thing that I don’t necessarily like is that I have to pay before they even get somebody to my house. That part, I'm not real comfortable with. Normally, I don’t get charged until the service is complete. But, they charge you before somebody even comes to your door. It is what it is right now, but if I could change it, I would.
