It took me two months to get to this point (on my outdoor spa repair). It is still not fixed. I have an issue with spa heater (I paid for the extra coverage) and they literally labored for two weeks to find a loophole to not cover the repairs. They Diagnostics said they heater was broken and one of the symptoms was water leaking. Every time my technician checked in with them, they had another reason to not pay. They sound good on the phone, and talked me into dropping my old coverage, but getting them to set up appointments, follow up with the contractor, and get repairs done, was a horrible experience. I am going back to my previous home warranty program as soon as possible.

Having a home warranty has been helpful in the past years when we’ve had other homes and we wanted to cover whatever we could cover with the best possible company. We were looking for general coverage of equipment and material, like refrigerators and dishwashers. So far, our experience with Liberty Home Guard has been excellent.

I was happy with the coverage that I got from Liberty Home Guard. Their rep explained to me the way it would work. I got a copay for 50 something bucks if I'd need to get something fixed. One thing I don’t have that I want right now is coverage on some type of grinder thing for my sewage to go through. The rep had told me that I could always call back and add that on. Also, I had to call them back because they overcharged me. They had told me it’d be about three to four business days to get my money back, but I actually got it back the next day. In general, I'm happy with speaking to their customer service.

A contractor from Around The Clock Appliance recommended Liberty Home Guard to me for a rental property that I have. Previously, I used to have American Home Shield which was a bit more expensive. The contractor said that he has never seen Liberty deny a claim and that they were always quick to get someone out to their customer. I went with them and I hoped the claim process would have been simpler. I hoped it could be online like American Home Shield had it. However, Liberty's website is under construction and I had to make a phone call instead. Still, everything worked out. Liberty's warranty could be more affordable. Regardless, when I used my warranty for my washer, they responded pretty quickly considering COVID has been slowing things down a lot. Around The Clock Appliance's tech came again and he was awesome. I got my washer fixed quickly.

We’ve been in the house for five and a half years and ni the first two years, we had a home warranty. Then, we stopped because we were paying deductibles, and some things were covered, and some things weren’t. We decided that if there ever was a major repair, then, we just would cash flow it and we didn’t need the warranty. We weren’t sure if we were getting the value out of it.
In the last couple of years, we have had some pretty big expenses. My friend, a sales rep for a builder, has some real estate that he has by himself. He bought a couple of builder homes and rents them out. He said to always get a home warranty. He always does and he was giving me examples of how he has used it over the years. We had already been kind of thinking about it and that was enough so I said okay. He said maybe I didn’t have the right one. I asked which one he used. He said Liberty Home Guard and the next day, I signed up.
I went online but it just said, “This much extra per year to cover the pool.” I called customer service because I wanted to get some clarification on some of the upgrades on our pool equipment. I asked, "What’s covered? Is it just the equipment? What about plaster, or the drainage and plumbing pieces of it?” The rep gave me clarification. Then he upsold me but he also got me some discounts over multi-year deals.
Gregg, thank you so much for the kind words! We are so happy you have entrusted us with your home. We are looking forward to providing you with excellent service in all your system and appliance needs.

I wanted to have a change from the current company. I talked to a rep and he explained things well. The Libberty Home Guard warranty stops like one year and I decided to go for three years. We had a garbage disposal claim recently. The workman who came out was on a call most of the time and he said that Liberty didn’t approve right away whatever he asked. He showed us the disappointment straight away to us. So then he removed everything and got up in the disposal, and he didn’t fit anything back. He just left. The next day I spoke to Liberty and they said it was approved. I called the workman and he went out of his way to come back to fix everything although it was a little bit of a mess.

A friend I work with told me about another company and I went online and started to compare rates. I joined Liberty at the end of last year. The representative emailed me when I first joined and told me if I had any issues to email her. I did and she responded promptly, and everything was taken care of. The plan options were perfect and I was very satisfied. The claim on my garage door opener went good. The technician changed all my sensors and it’s working fantastic.

I did a Google search on best home warranty companies and providers and Liberty Home Guard was in the top three. So, I called them for a quote. The application process was fairly easy. The coverage seemed fairly standard compared to what the other one I had previously worked with was. Our AC unit failed, and so I called them. They dispatched an AC certified technician company and they came out here and had it fixed within three days. They were Bona certified. They were a legitimate AC company, so they work with folks that had the qualifications, at least, so far that I've seen. I've actually called them four times since we moved in. We had some issues with the house and each time, it’s been a certified provider that came in.
When I first got Liberty, they seemed a little reluctant to dispatch someone. My second service call was a plumbing issue and they asked me to provide them a written statement saying that when I had bought the house, this issue wasn’t preexisting. It was kind of an unusual thing to have happened because I just bought the policy. It was six weeks in and there was a period of time where you wait before you’re allowed to make a call, which is fine. I called them. I thought it was a normal service call. It was a plumbing issue, and they had me fill out this long document. They wanted me to prove that this issue wasn’t preexisting when I had set the policy up.
It couldn’t have been. I didn’t own the house yet. I told them, "I could send to you the home inspection if you’d like to do it that way,” which showed that I have no knowledge of the issue because we had the home inspected. They said, “No, we just need this filled out.” So, I filled it out and I sent it to them. After that, they called me back and dispatched somebody to rectify the issue. But I’m sure in that industry, it’s difficult to ascertain. Some folks probably do try to take advantage. I’m not one of those people, but that can happen.
One of the dispatched companies that came here explained to me that they tend to find ways not to provide service versus providing service. They work with all the home warranty companies. The gentleman actually said, “Well, we’re gonna fix this for you. And normally, this would be covered under home warranty, but sometimes, your specific provider doesn’t say it is.” I asked how could that be. It was a pretty basic thing. They said, “Well, we just have to word it very carefully on the claim after the fact. Otherwise, they might not honor it. Well, just don’t worry about it. You’ll be fine, but you just wanna be mindful of them in the future.”
For $3,000, I bought a five-year policy with this company. So, I’m hoping that what that individual shared with me is not true. That was a little disheartening. But each time I’ve had an issue, they have gotten back to me and they have dispatched a service provider as the home warranty provides for, which is why I purchased it. But there are some oddities about it. When you call them, sometimes it goes through an answering service, and then the answering service will tell you that someone will call back. They may call back for a day. They claimed to have a website to put your claims in there, which should be far superior to calling, and it would offer tracking and everything else, but that doesn’t exist either, even though there is this thing that makes it look like you can, but you really can’t. So, it’s kind of weird.
The one I used to have, when I call, somebody answered every time, and they took copious notes. I was allowed to answer things online and track it there. There was a lot more accountability and trackability. I can tell that Liberty is young and new, and I can kinda tell that when I speak to their folks. They're sorta getting used to their own systems. They could be really good. They just need to mature a little bit. But other than that, they solved the problems within a reasonable amount of time.

We had one incident and I called Liberty about it, and there was a technician who came. But based on my discussion with the technician, she did not fix everything. She fixed only half of what the issue was. That means we still have the issue. I'm not a person who understands electronics. I will be happy if I see them. If I have issues with my refrigerator, to have somebody come in and take care of it is how I want it to be. But somebody came and told me, “A, we can do, B, we cannot do because they told us not to do B, they told us only to do A.” I asked her, what will happen if they don't do B. She told me they'll come back in a couple of years. That doesn’t make me happy but I think for two years, nothing will happen. But my expectation was it will be totally taken care of.

I was looking to get out of my current warranty because it seemed like every time I needed a service call, they either couldn’t fix it or wouldn’t fix it. It was just always an issue. They always made me pay the service fee. I looked up some places and I got a quote from Liberty Home Guard. The gentleman I talked to was extremely helpful and informative. I went ahead and purchased the warranty on-the-spot with him. He offered me other options as well. It was very easy, quick, and definitely a good process.
Recently, within the last month or two, we had a plumbing issue. I called them and one gentleman came out. There was some miscommunication. He said that the amount was too much, according to Liberty, and Liberty wasn’t gonna use them. When I called Liberty, they said that wasn’t the case. They just had to get it approved and they did that. Then Liberty sent them back out. So, initially, it was a bit frustrating because it was like, what does it matter, how much it is? We needed to get it fixed because at the time, we weren’t able to use the restroom downstairs ‘cause there was a lot of water leaking. But we ended up getting it fixed within a day and a half, so I couldn’t complain. Everything’s working out really well.

We had just purchased this home and so, it was used and we needed a warranty for it. I was looking at different companies and Liberty was highly recommended from multiple sites. The application was on the phone and it was seamless. When we had a problem that needed addressing, they were good about not saying that it couldn't be fixed. They were very receptive to fixing it. There was a clicking sound on our Whirlpool cooktop stove and the technician came out and identified it. He had to order a part, which took about seven days to come in, and he came back and replaced it. It was flawless and the communication was great. The technician was very friendly, polite, on time and he communicated with us before he got to our house. He also gave us a timeframe of when he would be here. He was a pleasure to deal with. It was an excellent experience with Liberty.

This past service with Liberty is almost like pulling teeth. I’ve had to call multiple times to get them to send another person out on this claim. When we finally got it, it was resolved but today, they were telling me there were some things within the contract where something wouldn’t be covered. I don't have access to that and I’ve asked them to send that to me, which we’re still waiting on. Also, their online portal is supposed to work to schedule any issues if we need to submit a claim. The site was down in October and it’s still the same thing so, that’s frustrating because I’d rather do the more efficient way than calling and not getting anyone. So, it hasn’t been great. If they can get the website working, that’s a huge thing because nobody wants to be on the phone all day. But the technicians who came in were good.

We had American Home Shield last year and they were awful. We bought a house that’s a little bit older so, we were happy to have a warranty with it. When we were set to renew, I kinda told AHS to either clean up their act or I’m finding somebody else, and they didn’t. So, I did my research and Liberty happened to be the better rated company. The application was very easy and the reps were able to go through my options very quickly without an issue.
We had an electric issue with the switch in the house so we put in a claim. The reps called me back and we processed the claim with the deductible that we have on it. Within 36 hours, somebody called us to do the work. They were here the next afternoon and they were great. They were much better-quality people than with the other place. We were happy to have Liberty. We’re anticipating some central air issues this year, so we know we’re gonna need to use them again. It’s an older unit and as long as everything goes well with that, we’ll renew with them.

Liberty sent a company for my issue with plumbing and I waited for five days. They never called me. I called the company and they said they never had the work order. I asked Liberty to resend the work order and they said they sent it. Then, this guy shows up and says that Liberty never contacted them and that I had to pay him. I showed him the message Liberty Home Guard sent me and then we had to call them. They had to talk to them. Finally, Liberty gave some payment information and it was okay to fix it. The guy hasn’t fixed it though. He said he needed a part and he said he’ll come yesterday but he didn’t. He was supposed to come today, so I’m still waiting.
The first experience I had with Liberty was for my AC last month and they took a while. I understand they have corona going on in New York, so they did take a while to process. So, I was not happy about that because it’s really hot here in Florida. Finally, after bugging them every day, they finally sent somebody and that got sorted out. Both warranty calls were during the corona time, so I’m hoping they’ll be better after the corona is over. They should communicate with the vendors better because they said they didn’t have any information. I also didn’t like that the contractor showed up here and said that I have to pay. I already paid them the service call. Both claims with the AC and the plumbing weren’t smooth. I had American Home Shield and they were always good. I never had this kind of issues with them.

First, you will get a high pressure sales pitch that if you don't buy immediately, the offer goes away. That should be a red flag. I fell for it because the sale rep Stephen ** told me that if you cancel within 30 days, you get a full refund. Turns out, that is a lie. In their own agreement, if you cancel within 30 days, they still withhold a 30 dollar cancellation fee. But, you don't get to know about that until after you already pay. Only after you pay do they send you the limited agreement. They really aren't 24/7 as they claim. Sure, you can call 24 hours a day to get to a call center, but you will be on hold for a lengthy time and they won't begin to connect to a service technician until the next day, may be the second day. So you decide to cancel. Well, you are supposed to get a prorated refund.
I cancelled on 2/13/20 and to this day they haven't refunded any of it. Then, you call out their shortcomings via reviews, they have to talk to their attorney, Charles ** as a stall tactic to get you to sign a one-sided settlement agreement as Charles ** hands you lies about why the agreement is necessary. After having their release agreement read by a lawyer, that lawyer confirmed my suspicion. If you do want to pursue an agreement with LHG, don't buy immediately, get the agreement first, pay special note to many of limits in the agreement, and be prepared for them to try to find reason why not payout on claims. Good Luck if you do! You will need it.

Not only did he sell me, he sold me more stuff. I understand he’s number 1 in the company too. I’ve only experienced one claim so far. It was a little weird. They got the job done, but I had to read a lot of the details and continuously call in to verify and make sure that what I thought I read was accurate because what they display on their contract is contradictory to exactly the broad terms that they use.
Sp do your homework and be very cautious. You might just spend the same amount on your own without having to go through the extra BS. The extra BS is the fact that they chose the service person. The service person came and then had to call them back to get verified, which extended the fix two additional days on my end. To me, it's a little ridiculous. If you already picked them, I’m sure you got prices negotiated, but they need to confirm all of the details. But other than that the customer service is good.

Today online I requested someone to contact me for more information on what is, or is not covered in the home. On their website if you check it out, EVERYTHING said is VERY VAGUE! While waiting for a callback, I went to the BBB website to check them out. Since July 2019 I see 16 complaints, and while I was reading them, I get a call from Leo, someone who works for this company. I tell Leo I am on the BBB site reading their complaints, and as a good SALES PUSHER, I mean sales person does, he starts telling me how much better their complaint rate is compared to other HOME WARRANTY companies are.
One complaint I asked Leo about was a leaky roof someone had, and why LIBERTY HOME GUARD refused to cover the repair? On their website they claim to give you FREE LEAKY ROOF REPAIR warranty? The person said they had to hire and pay from their own pocket around $1340 to fix the leak? Leo tells me they will ONLY cover PATCHES, and do not cover or replace a whole roof, just patches. I DO NOT THINK anyone could replace a whole roof for $1340 anywhere in America these days, unless it's a dog house! I said to Leo, saying just fixing patches is very general and vague, HOW BIG IS THE PATCH YOU TALK ABOUT, and HOW MANY SQUARE FEET do you consider a patch to be covered? Leo mumbled something about leaky roofs, and that I was not really interested in a HOME WARRANTY contract then HUNG UP ON ME! Wow!
First of all, I do not have a leaky roof. I was asking about the complaint on the BBB, WHEN THIS COMPANY CLAIMS to cover a leaky roof? Thank you LEO, so much for showing up what a lousy company it is! I can just imagine IF I did have a problem, how you would SQUIRM to get out of paying! Leo also told me to check ConsumerAffairs.Com website to read their good reviews. I did just that and found almost all the GOOD REVIEWS were about how easy it was to sign up. The BAD REVIEWS are all from people how NEEDED SOME TYPE OF SERVICE! And how long they had to WAIT to have someone come to the house and then be DENIED! Another complaint was you DO NOT see the full contract UNTIL you give them money, then if you do not like what it says, about what it does OR does not cover, try and get your money back, Good Luck with that! My advice is to STAY AS FAR AWAY AS YOU CAN from this company! Thank you again Leo!

I followed the link on a posting from Consumer Affairs and it took me to Liberty. Then they contacted me within minutes after I clicked on a few links. Looking at their coverage on their website, they seemed like a good deal. They also offered me a five-year plan for a very good rate, so I opted for that. Their customer service when I was going through the application process was very easy. My experience was excellent. The gentleman I talked to was not pushy. He answered all my questions. And then he asked a couple of questions that caught me off-guard. He said that they have discounts for both veterans and those who were in public service, and they applied those to the plan I selected. He kept finding ways to make it a little more affordable for me. So, I paid for the five-year plan upfront knowing that if I ever get unhappy, I can get a prorated refund, which was important.
My house is 12 years old and things may start to go apart. I have my HVAC checked twice a year by the same company and they’ve done it since the day I moved in -- once in the beginning of the summer, and once in the fall when the heater is going to get used. I have washers and dryers that I’ve changed belts and motors and things like that. I take care of my equipment very well. But I’m getting up there in years and right now I have a broken leg from a severe motorcycle accident. So, if something happened to any of my equipment, there is nothing I could do. So, Liberty seemed to be a good fit for me. If there is an issue, they either come and fix it, or give you money to replace a unit, which I thought was handy. When I read the contract, however, there are a lot of exceptions that I’m not thrilled with, as well. But, overall, I'd definitely give them a try. If their plan fits your needs, they would be my choice.

Before I purchased a home warranty with these clowns I asked if a home inspection was required before I signed up. I was assured that a home inspection was not necessary and that I was buying a great warranty to "protect" my investment. Fast forward to today, Monday, January 13, 2020. I had called in a problem with a heating system problem last week and an appointment was scheduled for today. The technician came out and diagnosed one bad part on the outside unit and a bad gas valve inside of the furnace itself. He made a call to Liberty Home Guard and reported the issues. He told me they were researching the coverage and would get back with me.
This afternoon I received a call from Jason at Liberty Home Guard and he informed me that they were not covering any of these parts under the warranty because they couldn't possibly be bad without being bad as a "pre-existing condition." He then proceeded to ask me if I had a copy of a home inspection from when I purchased the home. I informed him that I did not because their sales department did not require one when I made the purchase. I then asked Jason how it was possible for him to ascertain when these parts failed and he told me that with his experience there was no way both of these parts could be failed at the same time. Needless to say but I am requesting a full refund of the warranty purchase price plus the service call fee for today's visit. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND STAY AWAY FROM THESE CLOWNS, THEY DON'T WANT TO PAY FOR ANYTHING!!!

I bought warranty from Liberty Home Guard for one of my properties. It was for electric wall heating unit. It has been now 3 weeks and still no progress. They send one technician and then after a week, they suggested to send another technician. Few days back that was also done, but they did not fix the heating problem. I keep calling them every morning and they assure, by evening it will be taken care. But no progress so far. Sometimes, they say, "Some case mgr will call you" and again no one calls. I am very disappointed with their service and warranty. I am thinking about cancelling this warranty and switch to AHS. I have their coverage at other properties, and they were pretty good with that.

The gentleman came out one day and said he could replace the parts, but they had to get approved by Liberty Home Guard, and it was like five days later. We were getting closer to Thanksgiving, and we weren’t getting callbacks from Liberty to say they were gonna approve it or not. Every time I call, it was still up for review. For this claim, everything went pretty well and smoothly. I had another claim and it didn't go as well. One had to do with the brand of my appliance which I was never told when I purchased into the warranty program. So, then I had to buy an additional coverage that I wasn't planning on to cover those appliances. And then with the claim, I was told that the company would only cover up to a certain amount. So, in order to get it fixed, I had to put out more money out of pocket. That one was a horrible experience.

Then, I asked for a quote and another guy ended up immediately calling. It wasn’t five minutes and I had three phone calls from different people that had hit their screens. So, they were prompt and I had no problem at all. I did some research and I talked to somebody in New York a couple of different times. He wasn’t pushy and he worked and gave me the best offer. I'm really pleased with Liberty.
The ice maker went and Liberty sent a guy out. I was going out of town for a couple of days and he thought I was going out of town for three weeks. I had to call back and ask where the part was because Samsung sent the wrong part which Liberty immediately caught so they had to do it again but I had no problem with that. I didn’t pay anything to Liberty and when I was with American Home Shield, I would have a $75 charge every time besides my insurance. AHS sent a couple of guys out that I wouldn’t allow back at my house. When something is broken and you know that the individual will only come out to your house on Fridays which is convenient on his way home from work is not the type of service I want. When the garage spring broke, I asked the gal from AHS on the phone if it was covered and she said that they would have to send out a person. The guy charged me $75 to tell me that it was broken and it wasn’t covered, and I already knew that.

We moved into our house in May, purchased a home warranty policy, as our realtor recommended, with of course no intent on having to use it. Unfortunately a part in our furnace went bad so we had to submit a claim. They came back to us and said that it was a preexisting condition and unless we could get maintenance logs from the previous owners (which we have no contact with) it would not be covered. Having no previous maintenance records on the unit, we showed them the inspection report from when we bought the home which said the furnace was in good working order and the duct cleaning that we had when we moved in and they were still not willing to work with us.
My father then called Liberty Home Guard to inquire about a new policy and specifically asked them about the elimination period for preexisting conditions, to which they said was only 30 days - the same information they told me when I signed up for the policy. They however, claimed this was not the case and denied the claim. That being the case we cancelled our policy as we no longer trust them to pay out on anything ever, without claiming it was a preexisting condition. Such a scam so please beware before you sign up and waste your money!

I was getting rid of my other warranty company and when I doing a search, Liberty Home Guard was in the top 5 as far as customer service goes. And as soon as I asked for some information, somebody from Liberty had called me. He was very friendly and helpful. Signing up was an easy experience. But I was surprised that they didn't ask for more information. The only thing they asked me was how old my home was.
There were errors in the contract though and we were back and forth for a week and a half. They took my money right away and I kept telling them that the start date was wrong. The warranty doesn’t need to start until November. They kept telling me that they were gonna send me a revised copy, but it took six emails until they got that right. However, getting in touch with them was no problem.
I’m very wary about home warranty companies, especially with the dealings I had with my last one. I was told I was gonna be covered from top to bottom, but when I had issues with my air conditioning in the middle of the summer, I went a month with no air. But I'm very pleased with the plan Liberty set me up with. And the coverage they’re gonna give me is gonna be fine if it is what they said it's going to be.

I own a couple of homes and I wanted to make sure that I had a warranty for the appliances, the washer, and the dryer. Liberty Home Guard got back to me more quickly than the others, and their rate was comparable to what I budgeted. And when they confirmed the process of repairs, it was pretty easy. I wouldn’t have to come out of pocket should an appliance need to be replaced and they would replace it not with a refurbished product but with a new one. All of those sounded right to me and there was no reason for me to go with another company.
The enrollment process was easy and seamless. They asked me for an inventory of the appliances within each home that I was looking to cover and then the rate was adjusted based on what each home had and what each unit had. Then they came up with a price and sent it via email. And finally, there was a 30-day wait period for the warranty to be active.
I have since used them twice for service calls and they have been extremely professional, attentive and responsive. They followed up and called back to make sure that the vendor reached out to schedule the appointment. Both service calls were taken care of promptly and the vendors that they used have been satisfactory so far. There were some issues with the payment with the first vendor though. They asked my tenant for a credit card when that was something they shouldn’t have been asked because the service call fee was already paid for. Liberty said the vendor was new and wasn't aware of the payment process. There was a mixed up with that, but Liberty spoke to the service person while he was there and resolved it.

We were with another warranty company and we didn’t like their service. We started looking for another one and read reviews from Liberty Home Guard's current customers, how the warranty has been done and what Liberty has provided to them. The reviews were all pretty much 4 and 5 stars. There were one or two bad reviews, but I think those were just unpleasable individuals.
Liberty's enrollment process was fast, easy and informative. We have our own special specific team assigned to us. We felt more like a customer than a number. Plus, I have someone I can talk to that speaks English very well instead of someone that sounds like they're 2,000 miles away and does not understand what I'm telling them. Thus far, I'm pretty satisfied with the package I signed up with.
However, the initial contractor assigned to me for my claim was extremely unprofessional. Supposedly, he wanted to come straight out to my home to fix the refrigerator right away without calling Liberty first. He didn't want to tell Liberty what was wrong and having them approve or not approve the parts to be fixed. When he found out, he called me and yelled and cursed over the phone. I told him to get off my phone and that I didn't need him to call me anymore. He called three more times and I hung up on him each time. He even had his wife call my phone and I hung up on her.
I kept calling my Liberty team member back and told them that the contractor was bugging me. I said that I'm a law enforcement officer and if the contractor didn't stop, I was going to take legal action on them. I gave Liberty the opportunity to fix the problem and they did. They cancelled the contractor and got Advanced Repair to come out and fix my refrigerator. Advanced Repair was great. They were very nice and courteous which is the way a contractor should be with a homeowner. They worked with us really well. I would highly recommend Liberty to any family and friend. They are a friendly, informative, upfront, and honest team that you could work with. They are miles above American Home Warranty who we had prior.

I googled a bunch of different companies, and Liberty Home had a good rating. I went with them because of the rating and the price. The application process was pretty easy and the rep was very nice. But submitting a claim was horrible. When my contract is up, I will not renew it. My air conditioner went out, and I live in Texas. It was running 100 degrees. It took them five days to get somebody out there. They never would return my calls. Every contact I had with them was me having to call them. And I kept getting promises and promises, they would call me back, they were trying to get something set up, someone would call me, and I would not hear a word.
So, we went five days in a 100-degree weather with no air conditioning. Then, when they finally got somebody out, it took him about 20 minutes to fix it. The contractor sent was wonderful. As a matter of fact, he was really busy but he still managed to make it out. I think he ended up coming at 6 o’clock that night. And he was very helpful and really nice. He was not the person that they had come out. When they finally got ahold of somebody, he was out that day. And that wasn’t the problem. The problem was I could not get Liberty to find somebody to even get out there. I kept getting the runaround. I had another warranty company with my last house, and I had them for over 10 years, and I absolutely love them. Twice, I had problems with my air conditioner in that 10 years, and they had someone in my house within two hours.

I was impressed with how knowledgeable and professional the sales rep was. I was up-front with him about our budget limitations and what we expected for coverage and cost and he worked to earn our business, matching as close as possible to the other coverages we'd be quoted. We ultimately selected Liberty because, although their coverage was slightly higher, their positive reviews were MUCH better.
Mr. Eric ** was our account rep. He was a bit pushy in making the sale (didn't want me to get off the phone or call him back), but he was patient, polite, and professional when I asked for him to verify his identity via email for secure payment and to send me a sample contract and hold while I reviewed coverages. Great rep - as long as you go in being knowledgeable about your min coverage and max price and then be firm with your rep, they'll work with you to provide the best coverage they can to give you an honest picture of what's possible.
I wouldn't recommend stepping into this conversation before you're ready or have shopped around a bit though. Mr. ** was a Birddog but he was able to decrease our rates because we're military in order to make the sale. We feel much more comfortable with what Liberty Home is able to offer in the way of accreditation and positive customer experiences for the price we're getting than we were with what Select Home Warranty was offering for almost the same price. We look forward to working with Mr. Thompson and his team at Liberty Home Guard in the future.

I moved into a house that’s about 12 years old and I decided that I wanna make sure my appliances are covered. I didn’t know how old they were and how they were gonna last. I applied for a warranty with Liberty Home Guard and it was easy. They emailed me with the form and I sent it back. From that point, we moved forward with it. But when you’re in the middle of moving, your brain’s going in every direction, so at that point in time, I didn’t know all the questions to ask. But it wasn’t hard. I just got in touch with their rep then he went over the plan. But I did not get all the information I would’ve liked to have gotten at first.
For instance, I did not realize that the coverage was only for the equipment and they don't take care of any of the installation. I’ve had to replace the garbage disposal and they just gave me the garbage disposal, then it was on me to get it put in. They didn’t recommend anybody either. If I had pushed it, maybe they could have. But I already have a friend that does it for me and I knew he could put it in for me. Also, there was nothing I could do to change the matter after I’ve already signed a contract. If I’d have known that, I would’ve shopped around more. When I signed up with them, I assumed that if my heat pump went out, they would replace it and include the installation. That to me, is a big expense, too, and when you get a home warranty, you're expecting not to have that big expense if something happens. But I assumed too much and I shouldn’t have. I take some responsibility for it too.
Other than that, when I was talking to the contractors, they told me about a reset button. Then they said that they would just send me a new garbage disposal. They told me they were going to send me an InSinkErator, but they did not. So, they sent me another one. I’m not learned in garbage disposals but I’ve always heard about InSinkErators, not the other ones. So, they sent me what was in the warehouse. It was the way it was put to me. It came through the mail and I'm assuming that it is a fairly good one.

Liberty Home Guard had some of the items that I wanted and I really wanted to get the home warranty as soon as possible. I applied with Liberty Home over the phone and the application process wasn't that difficult. Their reps were typical salespersons. I didn't like the fact that they wouldn't take checks. It was a negative that they would only go through a credit card. They said I have 30 days, so I'm debating on whether or not I wanna continue with that.

We have had Liberty Home Guard in the past, and we purchased them in-home. We liked what they offered for the price. I did the application to get everything set up over the phone and it was very simple.

Liberty's staff on the phone seemed genuine, so I went with them. This past weekend, my air conditioner started running from 10:00 in the morning until 10:00 at night and it was not operating normally. I live in Mesa, Arizona where it can be over 100 on a regular basis. I'm 70 years old and I need air conditioning. So, I called Liberty up and told them that I was concerned something was gonna burn up. Not to mention that my power bill was skyrocketing, so there was something broken here.
They had somebody come out and take a look at it, and all they told Liberty was that they couldn’t repair it. They also said that it needs to be replaced. So, Liberty took it on and said that the unit is still running and there was nothing to repair. Neither were they gonna replace it because it's still running. But it's not working as designed and that is not right. The product that they're supposed to be warranting should be any kind of failure. But there's something broken here and they don’t wanna fix it. So far, the unit has been holding about the same but I'm starting to get worried. This has been going on since I noticed on Saturday night and I don’t wanna leave my house. I have animals, so I'm afraid to leave the house and the air goes out.
From what I've seen at this point, Liberty's service is very poor. I told them I was going to find someone else and if I did, I asked if it's all right if I submit that information to them. They said that I could submit it to them for their review, so that told me that the answer was gonna come back the same. They don’t wanna listen to me and I'm very frustrated. I made a phone call to a friend who has a contact and they're gonna be calling me to see what they can do for me. I'm gonna have to do this on my own expense. I'm single old lady, I live in a trailer park, and I don’t have anything.

I went to ConsumerAffairs and Liberty Home Guard was the one that was recommended. So I called them and their salespeople are always better. Also, they had a good price. The rep told me that the price would be higher if I would just go with one year. But I can always cancel from what I understand. They seemed very accommodating by telling me that if I have anything that I need fixed that isn't broken, that they can try to arrange to have that done too, which is unusual for a warranty company.
I did get a good deal, but as far as a three-year lock-in for $450 a year and $60 call. But if I have two things regarding any situation, normally, a home warranty company would come out and take care of those two things with one call. So it will be just one call fee. But with Liberty, if I had something wrong with one little electric thing and another, it would be two calls. They will only handle one thing on each call. So every item is separate.
I've had one experience with Liberty Home Guard and it wasn't the best. It was ridiculous. I submitted the claim for the exhaust fan and it took them two weeks to get the claim handled. Everybody had excuses about the other guy leaving because he was having a baby, and then some other guy was out of the office who said he would do something but didn't do it. The contractor came out and on the way to the store, he got a call from his office saying we weren’t approved. Liberty called the contractor and said that it was just a diagnostic. That was their escape hatch. But it was not a diagnostic.
Somebody in Liberty's office mistakenly ordered the electrician out here. It was a comedy of errors that I didn't wanna go through again. They're passing the buck on this girl that gets the information. She’s supposed to call and schedule people. That’s her job. Why would she get something if it hadn't been issued there? When I call somebody, they should be able to come and fix it or get the part, and be preapproved. But the contractor was nice and that's rare as most of them aren't. The guy fixed and replaced the part. But there were a lot of mistakes made and I’m the one who suffered. So it is still up in the air whether I'm gonna continue with Liberty or not.
