Liberty Home Guard is an absolute scam. I had an AC unit go bad. I filed a claim and they had a repairman out the next day to diagnose the issue. When I spoke with the repairman after the diagnosis, he told me he could not speak with me about the issue. That is when I immediately determined this was a scam. After multiple calls a day to follow up on my claim for two weeks, I finally received my replacement quote. Two weeks without AC or an answer. They were willing to cover $500 of the $8,000 replacement cost. I have quotes from trusted AC technicians for $5,000 to replace the unit. I HIGHLY recommend you do not purchase a warranty from this company. They will do everything they can to not provide fair pricing or reimbursement for repairs/replacement and take forever in doing so. This company is a complete scam.

When searching for a home warranty service, Liberty Home Guard LLC initially seemed like a promising choice. However, the reality of my experience was far from satisfactory. Service Quality: I anticipated a smooth process, given the company's claims and customer testimonials (FAKE REVIEWS). Instead, I was met with a labyrinth of communication barriers. Speaking to Pedro was like hitting a wall; there was no assistance, no willingness to transfer me to a more knowledgeable colleague. Subsequent interactions with Jesus and Katie only deepened my frustrations, with apparent technical glitches and seeming indifference to my concerns.

Operational Concerns: The delays and hesitations in addressing my claim were not just mere inconveniences. They highlighted a potential systemic problem within the company's operations. For a home warranty firm of their stature, the service was severely underwhelming. Review Discrepancies: While researching the company, I came across a series of glowing reviews. However, given my firsthand experience and whispers about potential manipulations of feedback, I'm left to wonder about the authenticity of these reviews. I'd hope a company would prioritize genuine customer feedback over potential FTC regulation breaches.

To wrap up, Liberty Home Guard LLC has left me with a bitter taste. Their service, or the lack thereof, and potential ethical grey areas are concerning. Potential customers might want to delve a bit deeper before committing to their services. There are undoubtedly other options in the market that might offer more transparency and genuine commitment.

Also I definitely would like to cite that Will was awesome helping to coordinate the replacement. I was due to travel so he helped me make sure that the fan only arrived after I returned. Sales team will blatantly lie and say things like "your area is high service area for us so we have lot of contractors servicing that area so your issues will be addressed very quickly" and "Cancellation is free anytime". AC unit broke down (when the temp was 100+ degree), for 2 days no one was even assigned (despite multiple calls, all we were told was this has been escalated but NO action was taken), I had to get it fixed on my own, they refused to reimburse. Since, they could not help when they were needed the most (AC not working in the summers is not considered emergency, don't know what is), decided to cancel the policy just after 2 months and to my surprise they decided to charge me the cost of the policy as the CANCELLATION FEES. DON'T consider this company.

I feel completely scammed by this company. I should not have had to pay an $85 service fee (on top of my contract that I've already paid) to have the technician do nothing and tell me the model of dishwasher I have is too old to repair without even trying to repair it. Before purchasing this contract, they never said anything about the age of covered appliances. Now, I have to pay an additional fee to have a new machine delivered and installed. I paid $85 for NOTHING. If there is a deductible or any other type of payment required to replace a covered appliance, that should be made clear upfront at the time that the contract is offered. The common understanding of this home warranty is that covered appliances will be repaired or replaced when the contract is purchased and the service fee is paid.

This business model is underhanded and scams customers out of money. I could have purchased a dishwasher outright with money left over if I had never gotten a home warranty to begin with. It will now cost me MORE to replace my dishwasher than it would have if I had never had a home warranty at all. For a $349 dishwasher, I will now have paid the $550 for the year of service, $85 for the service fee, $349 for the dishwasher, $260 for required installation and parts - and then I'll receive a $200 refund towards everything. That's a total of $1244 for a $349 dishwasher - minus the $200 and the cost of the new dishwasher of $349, that's a total net loss of $695. And going forward with this plan, every time I have an issue with another appliance, I will have another net loss.

They responded promptly to my service claim for our oven. Repairs were not temporary as the fix has lasted us 6 months now without issue. I intentionally waited because my past home warranty company, when they would even provide service, would always always do a band-aid, temporary fix. The entire Liberty team were great when they communicated with us, explaining the problem, service process, and coverage terms.

Our oven is high end so the repair job was expensive at around $900. Liberty covered $600 of it and we covered the remaining $300 which we thought was generous and smart since the unit was still under manufacturer’s warranty and the $300 was for the parts which the manufacturer did end up paying for. There was even a noticeable difference in quality between Liberty’s agents and the manufacturer, with Liberty’s agents being superior. They were all strong communicators and knew a ton about our home appliances and how they work. Oven works perfectly now. Very pleased with Liberty’s services.

He was able to apply a temporary fix which worked great, while the replacement unit from Liberty was in transit. Three weeks later the new unit was installed, I saved about $8k and everything was working perfectly. My policy just came up for renewal and we upgraded to their VIP, multi-year plan.

Updated on 08/30/2023: Following the debacle of trying to get Liberty to fix my stove, I decided to cancel. They assert that their policy on fixing any appliance is based on the depreciated value of the product. It appears to me that by doing this they essentially absolve themselves from have to pay for any repair. They told me my oven was worth $58.00. My previous home protection company (SEARS) paid for EVERYTHING over $75.00. If the repair was over $500.00 they would send you a check. Liberty Home Guard (LHG) decided they would send me $175 AFTER I purchased the new stove/oven and then send them proof of purchase. I'm usually pretty good at determining whether a company is a good service provider. This time I missed the boat. In my opinion, LHG is nothing more than a huge unmitigated rip-off. I would suggest that you stay away.

Original: On August 8, 2023 I called Liberty to let them know that my oven wasn't working. They told me that they would contact a technician and I would be contacted by the tech. On August 9th I received a call from Liberty telling me that they couldn't locate a technician, and asked whether I would like to find one, and they would pay. I told them that is not the service that I'm paying for. A technician was found and I was told he would be at my house on Tuesday, August 15th. On Monday, I was informed that he would not be able to come until Thursday. It was apparent that Liberty had no idea because they sent me an email on the 16th asking about the repair. I filled them in. The technician was pleasant and seemed to know his stuff. He told me that the oven needed a new motor and control board. This is where Liberty showed who they are. For days they said that they did not receive the report. When spoke to them on (I believe it was) the 21st, they said they didn't have the report. Then they said that, "It's coming through now". I reached out to them yesterday (8/23/23).

They told me that the report was in process and they needed to determine whether to do repair and pay for replacement. Today was the worst. I did an online chat with Liberty. While doing so, I had the company who sent the technician on the phone. Liberty first said that "the technician has not confirmed the compatibility and the installation quote". The company that sent the technician said they didn't know what Liberty was talking about. When I told Liberty that I was on the phone with the tech company, they replied "The information was sent via email, when our authorizations team call they will confirm why he did not receive it and confirm the information verbally." The tech company says they have not received any email from Liberty. The simple fact is that Liberty has been horrible from the beginning. I don't know how this nightmare will end, but we have been without an oven for 16 days.

Incredibly disappointed with this service. I have been a customer for over 3 years. First claim (in year 2) was placed regarding a broken clothes washer only to find out the one part on the machine that's malfunctioning is not covered - purchased a new washer. Most recently (Jul '23) filed a claim when an old galvanized and cast iron pipe burst in a 2nd story bathroom. I received $430 for what has become a $19k project. Homeowners covers damage and most access/finish work, but not pipe work/replacement which is incredibly expensive in older homes...Liberty Home Guard caps pipe breakage at $500. I have paid the $600/yr premium plus $130/claim for little to no coverage. I'm actually losing money with this service so, I'll be cancelling my warranty service immediately. I suggest folks steer clear and read the fine print carefully if you are looking to purchase a home warranty from Liberty Home Guard.

Buyer Beware! LHG does not provide the exemplary service they market. My husband and I discovered two warranty accounts were erroneously opened. After rectifying this concern, a technician arrived at our home on a Monday and he had to return on Friday to receive accurate measurements; whereas, my husband and I had two separate vendors provide quotes that were furnished within 30 minutes of arrival for our 2nd HVAC unit.

After days of calling customer service and awaiting options, it was determined that my email address was inputted incorrectly. After approximately 10 days, we received options that should have been received within 48 hours. The recommended replacement unit was generic and sub-standard. After careful consideration, my husband and I purchased the HVAC unit from another company, and we cancelled this home warranty policy. Now, LHG is refusing to refund the correct, prorated amount. Be wary of doing business with LHG.

I filed a claim for my Refrigerator, they send a tech for Diagnosis, (I have to pay $80 for it). After the visit no reply for two days, so I called him he said he ordered the parts to fix it, so I asked him what part and what is wrong with it. But he doesn't know. Then Liberty Home Guard send another Tech, He identify the mechanical issues and he submit his report. He said, "Your Insurance will fix it or replace the Refrigerator."

Even though the policy agreement shows all Mechanical part covered in my policy, the Resolution DEPT manager Pedro (WHO doesn't want to give his last name or his ID#) come up with excuses. (Compressor, motherboard won't cover) Policy agreement doesn't show any exception on certain parts. So he refuse to do anything for my claim. He was willing to find a new Refrigerator for me. But I have to pay the full amount. (I don't think none of us need any help to find new appliances).

Most of the time Companies like this abusing customer like us, because there is nothing we can do once they refuse the claim. Or most of the time we don't do anything!!. But this time they are wrong. It is my right to get the service they promised which is in my policy agreement. So please Ladies and Gentlemen, it's our hard-earned money these companies are stealing from us. I strongly recommend not to choose LHG for your Home appliances.

Ask and get a copy of their policy before exchange of any money. Won’t cover anything with the word leak. Maximum coverage $500 on anything, if you get them to pay. Replacement appliances are substandard to your existing appliances (in my experience). Example -You have a 19 seer HVAC system, they will try to replace with a 16 seer Goodman. Again, max is $500 coverage. High end appliances are not covered - KitchenAid, Jennair, etc. I don't know how this company has such a high rating on Consumer Affairs, there is no way unless the positive reviews are paid bought or fake! Read their policy word for word. If you still think it is worth the purchase price, then you deserve what you get. I will never trust consumer affairs reviews again.

They regularly deny claims and make excuses to not cover claims due to factors they define after you file a claim. They refer to an arbitrary determination to the life of your covered appliance or other device which is clearly advertised as covered ultimately telling you that the appliance is beyond the life expectancy of the appliance and therefore the claim is denied or you will be offered a fraction of the value. Read through their BBB complaints to get an idea on how they operate. They respond to the BBB complaints with a well versed response but never make contact, which it appears the BBB will consider resolved unless the complainants afterwards responds within a short time that the complaint has in fact not been resolved. Very deceptive and undoubtedly they have been reported to attorney general offices throughout the country for deceptive practices.

I am personally reporting to the NY AG’s office as well as the AG of the state I live in. I have utilized several home warranty companies in the past and I have had the worst experience with Liberty Home Guard by far when it comes to actual coverage. I was sold a 3 year policy for $2500 with the promises of excellent coverage and have had most claims flat out denied or was offered a fraction of the cost to repair or replace on claims I have filed. They will offer you wholesale appliances to purchase through them which in many states would constitute a conflict of interest to the consumer which they are providing a service. Denying a claim then setting your customer up to sell them a discounted appliance they desperately need while increasing their revenue could be perceived as willful intent to deceive the consumer.

Fortunately Consumer Protection Acts in each state protect consumers from unfair trade practices. Save yourself the frustration, go elsewhere for any home warranties. The reviews do not appear to reflect the truth, it is suspicious as to the published reviews they advertise do not reflect similar BBB complaints that can not be removed.

Contacted Liberty Home Guard, they continuously gave us the run around, wanted emails from contractor, their contractors did not respond. Called them continuously, finally technician provided information advising them a new unit was required. 1st they stated they would only provide $500 which was unacceptable. Request to speak with upper management, was denied by Michael, state he was Resolutions and there was no one else to speak to higher than him. I advised him there had to be someone else and I wanted to elevate this and would contact BBB. Then received a different quote via email advising me they would pay replacement cost of $1500, but we would have to find installer, pay the difference for a new unit (thousands of dollars) and cost of installation (thousands of dollars).

Tried looking up number for corporate office, upper management, CEO, but numbers listed on internet were not working. Horrible, horrible experience, seniors still don't have a/c and no one to speak to. Please don't waste your money, we paid in full for years of service, we spent good money hard earned retirement money for this type of negative service. We are horrified and need help.

I read another review about the deception and I would have to completely agree. When we switched to Liberty Home Guard, there was a sense of urgency on part of the sales person stating that there would be no lapse in coverage if we switched right away since we would be switching from another company. If we let the other company expire and later went with Liberty Home Guard, then we would have a waiting period for filing claims. So we switched right away. 63 days into the policy we filed a seemingly mild claim and we owe over $800 for it. Why? Because it was filed before 90 days. I immediately told them we were not subjected to pre-existing clauses because we did not have a lapse in coverage (as the sales guy explained it). He said that is true in a way, but there is still a cap on the amount they will pay out in the first 90 days. That was NEVER told to us!

In addition, the customer service was TERRIBLE. I do not expect much in terms of customer service in the 21 Century, so when I am disappointed after having extremely low expectations to begin with, then it is really bad! Needless to say, we will already be cancelling. When I asked what part of our annual refund we will receive back after we cancel, I was told they cannot tell us that information until after we submit the cancellation form. Run far away from this company!

I don’t know where they are getting their ‘good reviews’ from, but I am very suspicious based on my interaction. It felt like classic overpromising sales tactics- after believing everything the salesperson said I paid over the phone with CC, after which I was supposedly going to get the policy to review and 30 days to cancel. Surprise- I did not see it in that period. When I had an issue with a covered item 6 months into the plan, and submitted a claim (and paid the $75), I find out they only pay for the parts/item and not for installation. I told them this was not my understanding and that I wanted my full premium refunded instead, and after getting the run around with several departments they refused. It’s hilarious on the agreement front as well- they’ve tucked the applicable ‘clause’ umpteen pages into the legalize of the policy, near then end- in a way that seems to me intended to maximize you not seeing it. Needless to say that clause makes this ‘warranty’ completely useless in all practical terms in my opinion! Installation is most of the cost for most things you are going to run into like this, and beyond that I would guess all the service providers will jack up the quote because they will think you have a dependable warranty company who is going to pay the bill. You will probably fix basically any issue you have much cheaper out of pocket then going through LHG. This ‘Warranty’ was a total waste of my money.

    Original Review: July 7, 2023

My experience with Liberty Home Guard (LHG) has been one long string of poor customer service, broken promises, and deceptive practices. LHG has consistently failed to provide promised resolutions or return my calls. On multiple occasions, LHG's customer service representatives promised callbacks or responses that never occurred, and provided conflicting explanations about coverage.

To resolve a claim on a broken A/C unit, I had to contact their customer service through 7 live chats and 2 phone calls over the course of an entire month, in which they told me repeatedly that the technician had not required needed documentation (even after he had...even after they *admitted* that he had), and finally agreed to pay only $200 on a $2000+ repair because I couldn't provide documentation that was never stipulated in my policy agreement. Very clearly, LHG is not interested in or capable of providing the services for which they took payment from me.

Deceptive and Disappointing. TN: **. I am writing this review amidst our city's scorching temperatures exceeding 100 degrees Fahrenheit. I feel deceived by the positive reviews of Liberty Home Guard and regret choosing them. Their reviews have misled me. After conducting thorough research, I decided to warranty my home with Liberty Home Guard nearly two months ago. Unfortunately, my experience with them disappointed me, especially when our AC system broke down last week during the extreme heat. I promptly filed a claim, emphasizing the urgency of the situation. I paid $80, as agreed upon during the plan purchase. However, the service I received could have been more satisfactory. The technician they sent concluded that the AC unit needed replacement instead of repair.

When I reached out to them, explaining my battle with cancer and the impact of the heat on my health, they showed no empathy. It took them a whole week to respond, and they did not take any action until Friday afternoon, just before 6:00 PM, when I received an email stating they would only contribute $500 towards the replacement cost. Upon contacting their customer service, I was informed that my AC unit, manufactured in 2001, was considered too old for coverage. However, this crucial information should have been more conveniently noticed during the plan purchase discussions. Their lack of transparency and failure to communicate this limitation upfront was deeply disappointing.

I expressed my frustration, questioning why they hadn't disclosed this information earlier to prevent such a situation. Unfortunately, their response only acknowledged my frustration without resolution or accountability. Their lack of compassion and subpar service during the year's hottest days further added to my disappointment. In conclusion, I regret placing my trust in Liberty Home Guard. I hope this review serves as a warning to others, highlighting their deceptive practices and disregard for needy customers.

Not only that but when it was time for them to actually help me replace something, they sat around and waited for me to call them every day to actually take action. The local contractors who they hired to actually do the job also complained about them, how they took forever to approve (or disapprove) work orders, and would not call them (the local contractors) back unless they were called and questioned every single day. But I'm sick of Liberty Home Guard because I had thought that they covered everything, and they would tell me if I call them within the first 90 days, they only cover a certain amount. They should have told me that up front. The process went fine until they called today to tell me I owe 150, and the guy was not nice. "Oh, you should have read your policy." You don't talk to me like that. They said the job is $400, but because it's within the first 90 days, they only cover 250.

If that's the case, they need to explain the policy more, telling me, "You should have read your policy." If he would call and ask me how I would pay, "How you gonna pay? Are you gonna pay now or are you gonna pay the technician?" That was how he talked to me. And I doubt if I would renew my policy.

I am a realtor who has been recommending my clients to use Liberty Home Guard for the past 3 years now. I have not had one client complain to me about an issue, which compared to the past home warranty company I used to recommend, is a night and day difference. Not only does Liberty Home Guard provide excellent service and use quality contractors, they’re constantly improving. When I started working with them, they didn’t even have a customer app, now they have a customer app, contractor app, and a realtor app. Speaking from my experience of directly using the realtor app, it’s extremely useful and intuitive. In my opinion, they are the only innovative company in the space and the only one that is forward thinking. If you want a provider that cares about its customers and knows how to use technology to make the experience better, you should 100% go with Liberty Home Guard.

Submitted a claim after 6 months of paying, plus a 80.00 copay, and 7 weeks of lies about when a tech is coming! Final straw is when you try and cancel, they tell you "You can spend $175.00 MORE of your own money, hire your own tech, and they will reimburse you". WHY EVEN BOTHER having coverage? 7 weeks since I filed, 3 no show no calls from tech, the tech blames you for calls he never makes, and btw - the tech isn't even from the same state you live in. I don't even know if that is legal.

They have NO techs in the state of CT, send a guy in a minivan to your house with NO ID, he tries to upsell you on a new appliance instead of fixing yours, and then ghosts you! Refund? HA! They claim since the tech has been paid upfront, that they can not refund you. They lie, steal your money based on a business model they have no intention of fulfilling and then you're in the same spot, no working appliance and no money! DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY! Oh yeah, they are NOT accredited with BBB either, they sell you on that, but they are not!

I’ve spoken with Lauren, Michelle, Ryan, Jake, just to name a few on their team, and they were all knowledgeable and cared about the problem we were having. From a technology standpoint, I find the Liberty Home Guard customer desktop app to be very useful and pragmatic, where my prior company’s was very confusing. They get their contractors out to customer’s homes quickly and they are generous with the coverage and savings they provide to customers. They seem to be a company that works hard and ensures that the customers’ outcomes are positive. Fifteen minutes after our initial call, a service professional called us letting us know he could arrive in an hour. We were floored, we thought it would take days to get someone out to our house. He arrived promptly and diagnosed the issue being caused by our air filters clogging up. He proceeded to fix the issue. We had guests coming over and as a result of his speed never were inconvenienced. We signed up with LHG approximately 3 years ago and prepaid five years upfront, after days of going back and forth with a sales rep over the details. We had just left American Home Guard after about 6 years of absolutely horrible service there and had been burned. Due to the prior experience, I knew what to ask LHG to make sure we got what we needed from the plan. We bought a house that came with all high end brand appliances, ie Viking, Dacor, etc, and I specifically made sure each of these brands would be covered, listing them to the rep. He assured me they would, so we agreed. For 2 and a half years LHG covered our appliances, even when the Viking fridge died multiple times and then needed to be replaced. But when the Dacor oven died a month ago, they suddenly claimed luxury appliances are not covered under our plan and never were.

When I refuted this, stating exactly what I’ve written above, the reps told me that they had previously been paying me the courtesy of covering our appliances but cannot any longer. I told them I’d like the recorded call pulled from the sales call and they said I’m not privy to that call. Then the rep admitted to me that whatever the salesman might have sold me is not necessarily what is in my contract and the language of the contract is what they stand by. He fully admitted that the salesman can say whatever they want to make the deal and they don’t have to stand behind that.

To this, I told them the salesman said I could cash out the rest of the plan whenever I’d like if I’m not happy, so I’d like to cash out. They proceeded to send me an email DEDUCTING the cost of every single claim I’d made to them from the amount they would have owed me for cashing out, which fully negated my remaining balance. This company is an utter scam and has no integrity at All.

I had an existing company and service provider. But I wasn't happy with them. They have been constantly increasing prices as well as not giving the service. I switched to Liberty. Liberty's price is way better than theirs. For the home insurance, for every visit, you have to pay a certain deductible. Liberty had this offer, a five-year constant price, no increments, no increases, and then their per-visit charge was way lower.

The initial signing up was smooth. Although, it was intense. There was a little bit of pressure selling. They were constantly calling and texting. Then, that was like a time-bound price tactic, if you do it within 24 hours, you get this discount. But then I got to know that's pretty much the same almost all the time. But other than that, their price is attractive. The biggest advantage, they allow you to choose your own service provider as long as they registered a license, then they work it out with them.

I used them once for a dishwasher claim. They're way prompter than my previous service provider. The tech was sent almost the next day and then the person fixed it. In terms of their network of service providers, I felt comfortable and they were very interactive. They asked me several times after that, "How did it go?" The customer service, overall, was helpful and satisfactory. However, their website is not as interactive or as helpful as the other company. Be warned this company can subjectively deny. They are liable for repairs because they can use a depreciation schedule that makes a home appliance practically worthless. Or they can say your appliance is a high end product so you have to pay more for your policy before they will charge their $75 standard fee for sending someone out. In my case, I had a microwave that died. So they gave me a comparable model at a rate I found out later was $300 more at Home Depot. Plus I had to pay for installation! In the case of a dishwasher that was blowing a fuse, they said because I had a KitchenAid product, it was high end and I needed to pay $99 more on top of the $750 I paid for the yearly fee. This company is a rip off. I paid $750 for warranty that was useless. I was overcharged for a replacement microwave. What did I buy a warranty if it gave no protection whatsoever?! Buyer beware.

All their contractors that they use seem to be well trained and come prepared. Out of 3 claims, only one needed a second visit from the contractor to fully resolve the issue and still that one was done within the same week. In the past when I’ve called my own contractors for similar jobs like repairing my AC, they’ve needed 2-3 visits and I would almost always have much more difficulty in setting an appointment on short notice.

Liberty also gets really good prices from them that they extend to their customers, which I definitely appreciate. My only, slight constructive criticism was that my second claim was not covered. But even in that scenario they saved me $200. All in, for a $600 one year coverage term, I’ve already made my money back and truly think it is a great deal.

Michelle helped me set up my most recent claim for rekeying of our back door. When the locksmith arrived, he actually recommended that instead of rekeying it, that I replace it with a combination lock. I was concerned because I’ve had combination locks in the past, and they always gave me trouble. Without being pushy, he reassured me that this one was very reliable and that if it gave me trouble, he’d replace it and get me my original ask for a rekey. Well, I’m happy he pushed me because the combination lock has been working perfectly and I don’t need to worry about losing keys. I’m writing this review for Liberty and will also do one for the locksmith. I appreciate Liberty’s consistent, high quality service people they dispatch to help us with our home issues.

She really went above and beyond and I want her manager to know that. The contractor arrived 5 minutes prior to the scheduled appointment, acted appropriately, completed the work and cleaned his area. His punctuality and professional demeanor was noticed and appreciated – thank you Liberty and whichever company they sent. We had a wonderful experience and would like to thank Liberty (and Abigail) for their help.

Especially the fact that my deal was for 14 months is what kind put me over the line to choose Liberty Home Guard. Signing up was great. I could do it over the phone, which is nice. My salesperson kept wanting to give me other deals, but I just wanted the base package. I just wanted the big appliances covered. So, it was hard to communicate that to him. Otherwise, he did a great job. As a first time homebuyer, Liberty Home Guard gives me peace of mind.

My friend recommended I check out Liberty Home Guard and I’m so grateful he did. I have not been disappointed with their product. They’ve saved me money and reduced the headache of dealing with contractors when things break. They’ve not only been able to get me quality contractors, but if I need one on a weekend or holiday, which I actually have, they’ve been able to mostly accommodate those needs. I also find the team at Liberty easy to talk to, transparent, and responsive. Whenever I have had a problem with a covered item, the team at Liberty Home Guard has been prompt in telling me the level of coverage that my policy affords me for that specific case and they always are able to get the matter resolved quickly. I would be much more stressed out about my home if I did not have their policy and service.

I had a few issues with my smart home devices when I first moved into my house. At my friend’s recommendation, I inquired with Liberty to see if they covered smart home devices, which they did. I’ve used them for two claims now and both have gone smoothly, with my appointments being set within 72 hours of making a claim. I only had to pay my deductible each time and the rest was covered by them. Even though it does seem to be commonplace in the industry, my one piece of constructive feedback is that their sales process came off as somewhat aggressive. Otherwise, I hope this level of service continues. If it changes, I plan on updating this review to a lower star rating.

I first bought a home warranty with Choice who promised me that they’d cover everything and I would not have to spend any money. Ultimately I bought with them even though at that time I was considering Liberty because Liberty did not make those promises. They explained that their service was superior but not everything is covered and home warranty policies are never a blank check. A year later, I had enough with Choice, too many denials or claims that took months to resolve, and decided to give Liberty a try and I have not looked back since. Sure, they don’t cover every dime of expenses, but when I look back on the year, I saved a ton of money. By my estimates, I saved close to 400% what I spent on the policy with Liberty. And, just as importantly, all my claims were resolved in less than 2 weeks, with my average claim taking about 5 days.

I was there speaking with the technician, and the technician said that they never told them anything like that. Liberty Home Guard is also telling me they don't cover the plumbing. I pay them every month, then I have an issue and now, I have to pay everything. I've been talking to them for the past two weeks, then they called me yesterday and told me that they don't cover most of the damage. So I'm thinking about just canceling with them. They need to improve everything. It was a bad experience, and I wouldn't recommend them to anybody.

I was burnt by a few home warranty companies in the past which made me initially doubtful about getting a home warranty policy again. Honestly, I’m happy I gave Liberty a try. Yea they take a bit longer than I would since I know a few handy repairmen in my area, but overall through their discounts I’ve saved over $2,500 in six months. You simply can’t beat the prices they pass on to their customers. They do so much more than the home warranty companies I was used to. Those companies basically just denied most if not all of my claims. Liberty, even if the claim is not covered is always accessible and willing to help. For example, we wanted to replace our refrigerator, nothing was wrong with it, we just wanted a new one. I called Liberty and they got me a replacement for more then 50% off what I could have bought it for on my own. We’re thinking about doing the same for our oven, washing machine, and dryer next.

The last three years have been cost-effective and a value-add thanks to Liberty. When we originally bought our house and were on a budget and wanted to be smart about how we went about carrying costs for our home. We were apprehensive but decided to give them a chance. I was ok with things maybe taking longer because it is a warranty company, as long as the savings were there which was our priority.

While at the beginning of our tenure with Liberty, their service was slower, they’ve always stepped up and covered claims without fear or issue and saved us a ton. I’m also happy to say that the last year claims have gone much more quickly, which I think is because of their fantastic customer portal. When on average in the first year it would take around 3 weeks for them to close a claim, now they have handled each of my four claims over the past year within 5-7 days. Even with the delays of the first year, without a doubt, their services are worth every penny as they’ve saved us thousands.

He gave me a quote for a year and I paid it. No details about restrictions were mentioned nor asked me to read the fine print. on any emailed documents. after few months in summer very hot weather, my AC stopped cooling, I called and paid the $125 service call, the tech said the condenser need to be replaced. LHG said my unit is 17 years old and its value is zero, no repair. Few month later my Jenn-Air microwave door stopped opening, I called LHG and paid the $125 service call.

The tech said the door spring is broke showed me the part numbers and the cost was $4, he is ordering it once LHG approve the repair, LHG called to deny the service saying my contract does not cover high-end appliances, as if someone told there is difference plan for difference grade appliances. and they denied it. The said part is why charge me $125 if my appliance is high-end and not covered. I went to Ace hardware store and bought the spring for $1.29 and replaced it my self. I called and requested to cancel since the warranty covers my "high-end" appliance and I was NOT aware of this, they said, they will will charged me for claim I opened and I paid plus cancelation fees, which amount to zero refund even though there is still 6-7 months left on the insurance. After reading and speaking with Liberty Home Guard, I purchased their Total Home Guard warranty paying for the full year upfront. After trying to use their service I do not understand why anybody would want this service. I have a slide in gas stove that looks and works like new except the main front burner will not ignite. I put in a service request to Liberty Home Guard and paid the $80 service fee. A repairman came out and said that to fix it they would need to replace the burner and it would be a little over $600 and they would let Liberty Home Guard know.

I heard back from Liberty Home Guard that the unit is 11 years old, and it only has a life expectancy of 12 years. My option was to have it repaired or replaced and they would pay $100 towards the repair or replacement. What???? So I paid and $80 service fee and they would pay me $100 towards the repair or replacement. They based the $100 on what they say is the current value of the stove.

That means if there are any appliances or systems in my house older than a few years, since the depreciated value will always be low it makes this warranty service worthless. Anybody with appliances that are not new will be paying for a completely worthless warranty service. I find their marketing practices very deceptive. Buyer beware!

Lower rates and guarantee that CS is American based.

Now very first issue with clothes dryer. Person they sent over says its motor is bad and LHG get back to me saying they’ll replace. With only a $150 credit towards a near $1000 replacement cost. Including install. Reason: Unit is 17 years old and has $0 value. Well first of all obviously it has 0 value. It’s old and it’s broken. Then started quoting me the contract that it’s old. Never were these things mentioned to me when I was baited to sign up. And it was obviously offshore person contacting me which is another deception on part of LHG. This looks like a scam as it seems like they are spending all their money on marketing and baiting customers. I’ve had many repairs and replacements done over last 10 years. This company has demonstrated terrible business practices, has poorly executed an attempt for service with no sense urgency after several weeks of an unfilled claim with no services rendered. I filed a claim on 11/10/22 for a heating issue. Per the technician that was hired to inspect my hvac there was a leak discovered. LHG informed they do not covered leaks and my hvac would need to be replaced and they would send a quote for covered cost and what I would be required to pay. I waited over 3 weeks and finally received a quote 12/1/22 after countless follow ups with no response or disregard for my wellbeing for not having any heat in my home. After several attempts and speaking with supervisors filing a complaint I finally received a quote of over 10k of out of pocket expense with LHG only covering $800 of the replacement cost.

My hvac is not old nor my furnace dated in 2021 only a year old so why would I pay over 10k to replace it when it makes more sense to repair the leak. The worst part is I spoke to the technician company directly and they informed me they sent a quote of $5400. Now why would a warranty company meant designed to save home owners money for home repairs or replacements charge more. What's the point of having a home warranty if they are charging more. I'm at a loss for words, I'm upset and feel taken advantage of. It's ridiculous, unethical, seems illegal and this company is not ok. Do not use this company for a home warranty.
