    These people are a rip-off. I paid my monthly fee of 91.00. I paid 125.00 service fee just to have someone look at my washer and tell me it will be 280.00 to fix it. Mind you, all it needed was a new lid lock part. Liberty Home Guard told me the part was not covered and I’d have to pay 180.00; they will cover 108.00 of the labor. A SIMPLE lid lock part they would not cover. So I’m out, I’m supposed to be out the 91.00 monthly fee, 125.00 service fee and another 180.00 to fix the problem. While Liberty pays 108.00. My husband went on YouTube to see how to fix the problem, bought the part online for 36.00 and fixed the problem. 36.00. Don’t waste your money with this company.

    This is a total scam! They will find any reason to not pay for claims. When my mother's refrigerator broke, they offered her $100 towards replacement even though it was covered for replacement. They did the same for me with my HVAC and tried to offer only $300. When I asked to cancel my remaining policy, they said that the pro-rated amount was $1737.70, but deducted what they paid out in claims even though I paid for those months of warranty. They want to only refund me $88.74. I have filed a BBB complaint (again - my second with them).

    I had put a review about not using Liberty for it. I had a garage door opener and they gave me the garage door opener, but wanted to charge me to have it installed. I went back-and-forth with them and they said that if I would put another review out there, letting people know that they offered me a $300 settlement And I did after a while agreed to do that and I did write a review telling people that they offer me a settlement of $300. They said I needed to sign a settlement letter and were emailing me. This is going on like 3 to 4 months and they say it’s emailed to me, but I am not receiving the email. I called the other day. He said he would personally email it to me the settlement which has not gone out. So on top of them not fulfilling my warranty properly. They also lied about the settlement so I would not trust them at all. I did offer them also to mail it to me and I would sign it but they said they will email it. Be careful.

    We have had nothing but issues with this company. People purchase home warranties because they have aging items they want covered. Buried deep within, and hidden from outward facing view, are coverage clauses. LHG depreciates items VERY QUICKLY and at a steep drop off. If you have any aging (read: at ANY age) equipment, you are better off opening a savings account with the money spent on their warranties. Each call has been met with 40+ minutes of hold times and indignation when actually answered. LHG's "customer service" is outsourced overseas so good luck actually understanding them. LHG is the business of making money PERIOD. From my experience, they do not care about helping their customers.

    Our water heater died on a Thursday, and we filed a claim. The following Tuesday, a tech was finally dispatched. The plumber indicated the unit was dead and could not be fixed. The following SUNDAY a person from their resolution department called and offered 200 dollars, of the 2000 dollar limit. We had to pay 125 to file the claim.

    In essences we were offered 75 dollars on a 7200 replacement quote. LHG doesn't tell you their "dispatch" team do not work on weekends but the "resolution" teams do. When going through a loss of hot water, it doesn't matter what their department schedules are. If one department works weekends, they all do. In our view, it took LHG 5 days to even dispatch a tech. Then another 6 days for the resolution team to tell us to pack sand. We have been without hot water for over 20 days now. We have had five separate plumbing companies out all with quotes over 6800 dollars to replace our unit. We will not be adding our receipt to make this a "verified buyer" review. We have been customers for over three years with two claims both with the same dismal "customer service."

    The agent I talked with (Ostin) was empathetic and was able to explain with respect to the actual status of the claim. The status on the portal is too broad, and the delay cannot be justified. I find there's nothing wrong with the agent, particularly Ostin, but the overall process and how it is handled by LHG are questionable.

He sent a check for $200.00, covering half the total cost of $400.00 for the sheetrock work. While the overall experience was frustrating, I appreciate Josh's efforts to make things right and his patience in handling the situation.

    It's a fraud company, they fixed my electrical outlet and left 10-foot hole in the sheet rock, technician said he doesn't know how to texture it and someone else will come do it, no one came, I paid 70$ copay plus additional 275$ for my share and they still left a hole in my wall in 2 places. They offered me 50$ to do it on my own, really, you cut through my wall and then ask me to fix it myself. Really is that acceptable? The long rectangle patch is just the sheet rock placed to cover up. It's not patched, not textured, not painted. See photo.

    Updated on 09/17/2025: LAST UPDATE: Following the outreach from Liberty on this post their customer service team let us know they were going to offer a refund for $350 for the poor customer service experience. Then we received a formal release to sign from them requiring that we remove all customer service reviews. So the last step in this was a low ball offer to ensure we stay silent about our customer service experience and not share it with other unsuspecting customers. Yuck.

    Original Review: DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. We paid for the top tier plan for a year. When we went to file our first and only claim which was for our AC (during an extreme heat warning in AZ- 110+ degrees) they took 5 days to review the claim only to let us know they would cover nothing of the $2,000+. We spent hours on the phone, mostly on hold, and are going to receive no support from them after paying for the 'premium' plan. Learn from our terrible experience and don't give this company your money!

    ***UPDATE: The support that was provided after Liberty responded to our Google review was to say that now the AC needed to be fully replaced, and they would cover a total of $1,200 and we would need to cover the remaining 5-7k. This company is gross. If you want decent coverage and to not get screwed in the middle of a heat wave, go with anyone else.

    These guys are scammers! Stay away! I spoke to an agent seeking information about a home warranty for 5 minutes. I decided not to go with this company as he was trying to upsell me extended warranties, was rude and condescending, and sounded like he was working out of his mother's basement. I later got an email to leave a review, which I ignored. Then got a text from 646-931-0595, this salesman saying I had not paid my invoice. I called him, told him I never got an invoice, nor had I ever ordered a policy. He said he sent me one, I asked for proof and asked him to re-forward the email he claims to have sent me.

    Instead, he said "never mind, if you don't want it, I'll just cancel the invoice." I said no, prove it to me, send me the original email or any proof I agreed to or ordered any policy. He refused and just repeated that he would cancel it. Lying scum. He claimed we spoke for 5 minutes, and that I ordered a policy, but he has no record of it. This is nothing but a scam. Just some lying guy who became rude and condescending when I did not go along with his scam. Hell NO!!

    Liberty Home Guard is the worst company I’ve dealt with. Not home warranty, the worst company PERIOD. When I first called, I was just exploring, but their silver-tongued salesman made promises that turned out to be complete fabrications, so I bought it despite already having a warranty company. LHG weren’t cheaper but the promises he made sounded good. 11 months later but when I called, they made me pay the service fee up front which is something no other warranty company has done. That was July 27th and as of August 18th, my issue is still not fixed, and no technician has shown. They sent me texts detailing appointments, but those companies have no showed me 4 times as of today. I called the technicians and usually they don’t answer.

    Finally, the fourth company answered today. The company did not have a scheduled appointment for me and has never heard of LHG. Every time I call LHG, they send me to a call center in another country except their billing department. When it comes to taking your money, they’re all in but when it comes to conducting their services, they outsource to a random call center. My problem is getting worse, but they continue to run me around. I have now given them over $700, and they have done nothing. Even their contract is a scam. You don’t see it before you sign up, but it turns out the things they DON’T cover are orders of magnitude larger than the minuscule things they do cover.

    My old home warranty company, who had their own technicians, covered pretty much everything. Run away! Their positive reviews are fake because this company has done absolutely nothing but take my money and won’t give it back. Don’t believe their reviews. You can tell they are fake because they always name the same couple of people they’ve talked to, which is statistically unlikely that everyone on the review site talked to the same guy named Derek at a company that outsources to somewhere on the Indian subcontinent. Read the other reviews for them and you'll see that if they do ever get a technician out, they'll refuse to pay for pretty much everything. $700 a year premium plus a $90 appointment fee just to offer $50 toward repairs sounds like the scammiest scam ever!

    Didn’t help on my roof leak. The issue took a month and no resolution. I called my own technician to check and got a quote and told me they can only reimburse $200. The cost for the Leak repair is $1900. I will never come back with this company.

    Agents don't answer the phone or answer and redirect you to the main menu to avoid talking to you. Techs don't show up/don't answer/ask you for money. DO NOT use this warranty because they are basically ripping you off. They don't fix the issue and don't answer your concerns.

    WARNING to potential LIBERTY HOME GUARD ("LHG") customers. Unlike other home warranty providers (like American Home Shield), LHG does NOT pay for labor. Thus, if you have an HVAC repair and if the part that needs to be replaced costs $100, but the repair/labor costs is $900, you, as the LHG customer, will be required to pay $900 (in addition to $100 deductible and your monthly payment). American Home Shield would cover the repair/labor costs. And if your HVAC has a leak, LHG will NOT repair the leak. My HVAC broke down and had a leak and LHG would not repair - they offered $1500 (partner discount, I surmise) for a new HVAC system. Total out of pocket cost was over $5500 (which included approximately $2500 in labor costs I had to pay). BEWARE!!!

    After 3 years of having Liberty Home Guard as a warranty company and never using the service on the first service call they sent an unlicensed technician to my home. He caused water damage and electrical damage (Iceberg Climate Solutions owned by Drexel Copeland Jr of Atlanta). Liberty refused to pay for the repairs, refused to cancel the service and has been unresponsive. Drexel Copeland was unlicensed and his “Insurance“ Next Insurance denied the claim because he was unlicensed. This company is fraudulent and unprofessional. DO NOT use them!

    They will not replace or repair your nice unit. They will only cover a portion of the repairs or replacement at the lowest possible functional model. An example would be a cheap dishwasher is 350. So they will give you 350 towards a repair or replacement. If you have any moderately feature rich appliances avoid them like the plague. The coverage is so limited they will ensure they make money off each customer even if they file claims or not. Total rip off.

    Prior to this review, I had a review that explained a slow reaction on a garbage disposal replacement. Took over 2 weeks to complete. The Customer Service Dept. Team contacted me and totally rectified my prior complaint. I now have a dedicated team member to file a claim with and not have to deal with the App or long busy team member lines. THIS IS HOW YOU TREAT SERVICE PAYING CUSTOMERS!

    All business have issues time to time, but few ever responded to address an issue. This Company took my dissatisfaction seriously and actually addressed the issue going forward and offered a free 1 time service call and a direct contact! WELL DONE LIBERTY HOME GUARD.

    I made a mistake and changed from American Home Shield to Liberty Home warranty, I signed up for 3 years and Wow. 2 claims Dishwasher (cost me close to $400) and weeks to replace. This time a garbage disposal but only the $70 service call. But timing via App was lengthy. July 14 2025 -Disposal problem. No service man came. New disposal mailed arrive July 19th. July 25th installed and leaked. July 28th finally fixed/14 day repair. No personal contact, Only app and text messages, Never did talk to a person. My comment: IT'S EASY TO BE A PROFESSIONAL BECAUSE THERE ARE SO MANY AMATEURS. Whatever happened to Customer service. Just show me the $$$$!     We had a water leak in drain line, LHG send technician to fix, to find leak LHG charge extra $125 on top of my service call fees. So they charge me total $195. Tech cut couple places drywall to find the exact location of leak, now after fixing leak, LHG saying they are going to fix all drywall cut. One of the sales person from LHG, try sell the more policy, he saying he will make sure they will cover, but claim dept. saying, "That is wrong information, sales person gave you wrong information."

    DO NOT buy from this company, it is a total scam. They don't tell you up from that they only cover parts, not labor. Also, when I filed a claim for my stove, I told them what part needed to be replaced. The technician they sent to my home didn't know how to replace that part, and without my knowledge replaced a different part instead. He replaced it incorrectly, and now BOTH parts still need to be replaced, and Liberty Home Guard is telling me I will have to pay for new claims to have them replaced. This is extortion.

    This company is a complete scam. I was of the delusional mind that since they have a high claim fee of $125 I would receive better service and coverage. My garage door stopped closing all the way. So I googled the issue and it turns out the spring is bad. I filed a claim with them and a tech come out 2 days later, only to tell me the spring is broken and he needs to order the parts. Okay, great! Sunday morning I get a call telling me they only cover the parts ($221) and I need to pay for the repair which cost $531. So, I pay $69 monthly and $125 for the service call. That means I've paid for the parts already and then some because of all the months I've paid the premium without using service. So someone please tell me how any of this makes sense?!?! What good is having coverage for the parts if the company is not providing installation? Do y'all expect customers to put them in ourselves? CUSTOMER BEWARE. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!

    Delay. Delay. Delay. No water to my home. Broken pipe. What is so hard about that? So, they send out a “plumber“ who doesn’t dig. The pipe is underground. So four days later they say they will assign another plumber. Hopefully one that can use a shovel. This is not rocket science. I guess they are hoping that I will dig it up or hire someone myself. First of all I’m 76 with a broken hip, so I’m not going to be able to anything. This is the lowest level of customer service I’ve ever experienced. The phone number for customer service is just some people in a foreign country that can’t really help. This is a company that I will NEVER do business with again. To treat customers like bull pucky.

    June 3 called claim in. They couldn't get someone out here until July 3 2025. They asked me for 200 dollars to get their plumber out here and they would pay him 500 dollars. No I already paid 125 deductible. The worst to do business with. But they know how talk nice. That's it. I fixed it with my own plumber. I would not recommend this Liberty home guard warranty to my family or friends. Scammers.

    I’m not sure why this company receives such high ratings, as my experience with their customer service and coverage has been extremely poor. I strongly recommend reading your contract agreement very carefully—they provide minimal coverage and seem to only include minor, easy-to-fix parts. In my opinion, their protection is far more limited than what customers might expect.

    Updated on 08/07: 2025: On July 21 after I left 2 bad reviews, someone from the Resolution team called me telling me that according to number 6 of the policy, line P, they only pay 100 dollars towards parts and that replacement will have to be paid by me. The funny thing, is that I never got in email or in actual paper, a contract where I could see number 6 line P to see what he was talking about. He offered me 200 to counteract the 21 days that no one called. I had called on that day a company that came right away and fixed the spring, all for $500. I had lost my trust on LHG and I actually thought, they are never going to send me a check.

    The next morning, another person from the resolution team called me, his name was Josh **, Senior Manager, who was a very nice person and he offered me $350 for all the inconvenience and asked me to re-do my review and that he would give me $125 credit towards a next claim.. I am redoing this review with my whole experience. I finally got the check of $350, but I rather pay from my own money that deal with this company. Mr. ** was very nice for sure, but it does not offset how bad this company is. Instead, I am planning to put money aside from now on a bank account so that I can pay any repairs to any of my items at home.

    This company is not transparent, it does not have a clear system in place, it only works when you complain, and I was not expecting anything from my complain. I just did not want anyone to have the same experience. I asked the first person from the resolution team, what was the number of the resolution team, and he could not tell me. He said, I needed to call the complain Dept. and only them can send your call to the resolution team. There is no transparency here, I am not sure how this company is still in existence, beside the kindness of Mr. ** who gave me partially my money back, there is nothing good about them.

    Don't buy their policy, I will never buy one, nor will I suggest it ever to anyone! Here is Mr. Kim's information if you need to actually get someone to call you! Thank you. Carolina **. If you tell them to call you back and put your number, they won't call you at all. They are totally ghosting me. I keep calling and writing and nothing. Please save your money, don't get any coverage from them.

    I opened a claim with Liberty Home Guard on June 13 for a broken AC unit—an urgent issue during the summer in Texas. A technician came out on June 16, diagnosed the issue quickly, and recommended replacing the motor and fan parts. Since then, the experience has been nothing but a nightmare. We called Liberty Home Guard 3–4 times for updates. Each time, we were told the "resolution department" would contact us in 1–2 business days. They never did. Every time we had to reach out ourselves, only to hear the same empty promise with no progress.

    Our last call was on June 26 (a Thursday), and again we were told someone would contact us in 1–2 business days. Meanwhile, the AC technician’s company reached out directly to tell us that Liberty Home Guard was refusing the \$700 repair and instead pushing to replace the entire unit—a fix that would cost over \$10,000. It feels like a stalling tactic and completely unreasonable. Today is June 30—the end of the third business day since our last call—and once again, no update. We called again and were told it's still with the resolution department and that we’ll hear back in 1–2 business days. The same empty promise, again.

    On top of all this, the customer service experience has been awful. Every representative we speak to is difficult to understand due to heavy accents and poor call quality. They refuse to connect us to any other department or supervisor that might actually provide real answers. Liberty Home Guard has been completely unhelpful and unresponsive throughout this entire process. I’ve had nothing but a poor experience and would not recommend them to anyone. Avoid this company.

    Stay far away from Liberty Home Guard. We purchased a home warranty through them expecting peace of mind — what we got instead was an expensive and infuriating ordeal. When our hot water stopped working, we filed a claim and paid the required service fee. A technician came out and confirmed the water heater needed to be replaced. Fine. But then we were told that labor and installation weren’t covered — something buried in the fine print and never mentioned when the policy was sold to us.

    After a long wait, we finally received a list of replacement options via email. Every time I tried to call to discuss next steps, I was stuck on hold for absurd lengths of time — hours — and could never get through. We both work full time and don’t have entire days to sit by the phone. When we finally managed to connect with someone, we were told the claim had expired and we had to pay another service fee just to reopen it. Frustrated but needing hot water, we paid again — and then shelled out $1,300 out of pocket for installation. At that point, we would have been better off replacing the water heater ourselves without the warranty.

    To make matters worse, the installation was clearly botched. Ever since, our hot water sputters when turned on — a problem that did not exist prior to the new water heater. Liberty now says we’ll need to pay another $265 to get this fixed — a problem caused by their own service provider. Liberty Home Guard is more than happy to take your money, but when issues arise, good luck getting anything resolved. We’ve paid multiple fees and $1,300 in labor, and still don’t have properly functioning hot water. Save yourself the time, money, and stress. This company is not worth it.

    Liberty Home Guard is the WORST. I do not know how they stay in business and are not shut down. Purchased a 6 year plan (big mistake). Submitted 2 claims over the last year. Both were a nightmare to deal with. Claims will just sit unaddressed in the “Under Review” status. You will wait at least an hour to talk with anyone, almost all are very difficult to understand, and nothing gets done. I have never received a follow-up phone call from them even after “expediting” the claim. Cannot tell you how many times I expedited the claim and still no progress, no follow-up. Expect multiple calls taking an hour to get through. You will have to fight tooth and nail to get any service done or resolution to your claim. I noted they eliminate reviews to be written on their Facebook page and their own website. Good move on their part.

    I just filed my first claim with Liberty Home Guard because my AC went out and it’s literally 100 degrees where I live. I’ve been paying monthly for the policy and I first signed up around 5 months ago. They sent me a technician within 2 days (a bit long considering the heat), and he said the entire Hvac has to be replaced.     I have had their warranty for over a year and a half. On my very first claim, I find out they don’t cover the labor to replace parts on my appliance. Since labor is often the highest part of a repair, I find that to be a complete rip off. This was certainly not disclosed to me at the time I purchased my policy. I have had home warranties from other companies and found the covered both parts and installation. Their main focus seems to be trying to upsell client to pre-pay as many years as possible.

    My family owns an old home in West Brooklyn and I never thought home warranty makes sense because of all the reviews I read before.     This company claims to be the best. The sales rep really give you a good deal and tell you all the things you want to hear. They got me. I signed up for the 5 year (1 year free to equal 6 total) promotion they offered. I asked multiple times if I have problems, will they fix it or give me the runaround. Well it all started off great, I had an issue, they came out and fixed it. Then after 1 year all of the sudden they only supplied parts. Installation was not included. Well as you can imagine, a part may cost $30 but the installation would then be a minimum of $250 even after paying the fee for them to come out. I asked, "this was never the case, why did it change?"

    All they could say was, "if you read in the contract, installation isn't included." I said, "umm well they had to buy a new garbage disposal and installed it and I only paid the fee. They also bought a new garage door opener and installed it and again, I only paid the service fee. Why all of the sudden has that changed?" Well they couldn't tell me. I had my condensation pump go out, well they sent a new pump but said it would $395 to install it. I was shocked. Then my toilet needed a new valve, they sent the part but again said, "$250 to install it." I immediately cancelled. What's the point of a company that doesn't actually fix the problem when you've already paid for their service and then continue to pay the service fee? Doesn't make sense does it? I'm not sure what changed or if someone new owns them but they are a joke now. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!

    I’ve paid $1,556 to Liberty Home Guard for what I believed was a comprehensive home warranty, including premium add-ons for roof leaks, major appliances, and coverage for a mother-in-law suite. But when I recently had multiple serious issues—a roof leak, electrical failures, and sewer gas from plumbing—I discovered Liberty’s coverage is not what it claims to be.

    They sent techs out, which was fine. But when the actual repair estimates came in, Liberty refused to cover them—claiming there’s a $500 cap on both electrical and plumbing repairs. That’s outrageous. These are major systems in a home. Not once during the policy purchase or renewal was I told about these limits—but they did clearly explain the $500 roof leak limit, which I accepted. Why didn’t they also mention the same for electrical and plumbing if those caps existed?

    To make matters worse, I already paid Liberty $389 out of pocket for the electrical visit, thinking it involved uncovered items. Now they’re demanding over $500 more just to fix the plumbing, and we haven’t even gotten to the roof repair yet. What am I paying for, if not actual protection? Nowhere on their website or plan descriptions does it say "up to $500" for these essential systems. I’ve gone back and reread everything multiple times today, and the supposed caps are still hidden deep in fine print—if they’re there at all. If I’m paying for “whole home coverage” and expensive add-ons, it’s deceptive to hide these limits.

    In fairness, I’ve used Liberty in the past and had decent experiences with appliance and A/C repairs—even a refrigerator replacement. Never once was this $500 limit mentioned, and those previous issues were resolved. But this time, it feels like bait and switch. I’m posting this review in advance of any resolution. If Liberty chooses to do the right thing and honor the full cost of the repairs under the warranty I paid for, I will gladly update this review. Until then, I can’t recommend them to anyone. Their practices appear unfair, misleading, and financially harmful.

    Liberty Home Guard was great a few years ago. Now they are money grubbing liars. I paid my $75 fee to get a plumber and after he came and looked at the work I was quoted $400. LHG contacted me and told me I owe $400 and didn't tell me plumbing was not covered. So I have to pay full price for the repair and the $75 to LHG for nothing. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!

    You aren’t told when you sign up that LHG pays very little on your claims. They only pay a small portion of the unit and nothing toward labor. So a 9k claim they only paid 1500. I also got a quote in January and they would contribute 1650 and then when I renewed the claim in June their contribution went down to 1500. They claim it was because of rebates not available now. Also when you call you have to give your information over and over to the agents when you get transferred which shouldn’t happen. Very disappointed and will not be renewing.

    A 1-year Liberty Home Guard home and appliance warranty was purchased at close of escrow. Everything has been great for the past 6-months that we have owned the home (4-year-old home). Our AC blower motor died and required replacement. It is 105+ degrees in AZ and the agent said they might have a contractor out within 7 days. This was unacceptable so we went the reimbursement route. We followed the process exactly and were approved for reimbursement. The contractor did the work and billed for the $1,400 in service. Liberty Home Guard only reimbursed $150 (actually only $25 since the claim fee was $125 to file the claim).

    The $25 was provided as a courtesy since I did not have the maintenance records from the previous owner, despite documentation that the HVAC system was in proper functioning order upon transfer of ownership 6 months ago. The agent kept referring to one line in the service agreement that did not read as they interpreted it. Will never own a home warranty as this was very clearly more work than it was worth. It was also very difficult to communicate with the agents as the calls are very clearly sourced out of the country and the English is broken at best.

    If you have been cheated by Liberty Home Guard, file a complaint with USA.gov and with BBB.org. Let's get this very shady company exposed for what they are! I wish I read the reviews on Consumer Affairs about Liberty Home Guard before I purchased a warranty from them. DO NOT PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY!

    1. LHG provides little to no communication back when filing a claim. You constantly have to call to find out the status.

    2. LHG took two weeks to tell me about the repair status of my clothes dryer. I had to call and call and call.

    3. They will low-ball your fix for your appliance, only providing a fraction of the cost of the repair. They only offered me $200 to fix my clothes dryer. I paid to have the technician come out to diagnose the problem and then they tell me they are only offering $200 for repair. I asked how much it would cost to repair and they told me I would have to pay another $350! What good is a warranty if I have to pay for the entire cost of the repair?

    4. I asked for a full refund and LHG told me they will have to prorate it and there is a $50 cancellation fee. Too funny, that is all LHG thinks about is how much they can screw their customers over! Why would LHG need to prorate anything? LHG did not provide me any good service, LHG did NOT repair my dryer and LHG does not make it easy to conduct any service with them.

    We were trying to find a less expensive but high quality home warranty company than the one we are with. Right off the bat the man who was "selling" me their warranty lied to me which I found out after I paid to begin coverage with them which is even I finally got to read over the coverage and limitations. I was told that they won't ask for or demand maintenance reports and then I read they do and reviews from many people claim how this company will deny your claim in any which way if they can and that is one way they do it. Then one day after signing with them I saw the cap on coverage is super low and you pay the rest out of pocket.

    I've been with many warranty companies and this is the most deceitful one I've known. Even the man that was suppose to give me my cancelation was acting like a pushy salesperson trying to argue with me about my decision and that I'm reading their contract wrong.     If I could give Liberty Home Warranty negative stars I definitely would. They send incompetent technicians out to your home, the resolutions team is hard to deal with and you can barely hear or understand them on the phone.     Used AHS before but they got pricey so I switched. Big mistake. First claim they simply cut me a check for couple hundred to replace washer even though they knew it wouldn't cover a new one. Repairs cost as much as "value of washer" so instead of repairing like I wanted they chose to send money, but after the diagnostic fee it was about $150. Second time they sent someone out and then relayed the fine print. They only pay for parts but I have to pay for labor and diagnostic fee. In the end should have stuck with AHS or simply go without as repairs would be cheaper than all the fees they tack on.

    When my family purchased the warranty for our home, it sounded like a good deal. They would cover any leaks in the roof, furnace, ac. Along with other appliances. We had the general issues with most of our claims where we had to fight to get them to cover anything. And they would generally say that they would give us a complimentary cover of 50% or 20% of whatever issue. It is because I was a valuable customer. Instead of just fixing the issue.

    After the multiple claims, our furnace started to have a gas leak. After an extended period of Five days, a technician was finally sent how to check the furnace out. He only took a picture of the furnace and then he left did not check anything more. After Calling the warranty company and calling the technician multiple times did we finally find out that we need a new gas valve. Which the warranty company said they would not cover cause it was gas related. I stayed that it was part of a mechanical issue which the warranty does state They will cover. They eventually stated that I need a new furnace due to the age of our furnace. Which is fine except that it took an additional two weeks for them to get back to me on this information, after calling every 2 days.

    Do note that it has been around a month with no heat in my house with a newborn. Which my wife and daughter had to leave the house due to the cold. I stated multiple times to both parties to get my furnace fixed. After calling the Warranty company again, they stated that I have 2 options to choose from, and they would only cover $1400 of their $12000 options, but both were with the same technician that wasn't very reputable. I informed the warranty that I talked to a better service system within my area to get my furnaces fixed. The warranty guy on the phone said to send the quote and then we will get it checked out. I waited a week and decided to go through with getting my furnace fixed without their input. Due to it going on 2 months without heat.

    After waiting an additional week to see if they would respond, I had to call them to inform them that I got a furnace installed into my home. They said that they would only cover $250. Simply put, they dragged their feet and made it feel like I had no other option. Then Decided to pay me out less. Save your time and money and do not get this warranty company. It felt like a scam from the beginning. And it certainly feels like a scam right now.

He took a list of all my equipment and then told me if anything broke down it would be covered.     4-28-25 I called due to my have not blowing air. They one made me pay 100 dollars. I purchased my home in 2024. I had no service records that they asked for. I told them I’m a new home but didn’t have it. They asked for inspection and I provided it. All was functioning properly. I had to call back three days later and an appointment for tech was scheduled. Few more days go but he came clearly. Said normal wear. Not blowing seized up. No one reached out to me and here now it’s 3 weeks repeatedly telling me under review. Escalated due to the fact I told them I recently had heart surgery for a pacemaker maker to be implanted, breathing problems and high indoor allergies due to dust and mites. With no air circulation or filtration I get very sick. Not to mention the severe Florida heat.

    They denied my claim due to no service records, after saying inspection was fine. They took 567.00 from me and keep giving me the runaround. Not to mention monthly fees. I’m furious and sick to my stomach that not only am I dealing with this but see how many others are as well. They take your money and shove you to the side. I’m still waiting for my air to be fixed. And my pets are suffering as well. I literally came home yesterday to find maggots all over my floor due to the heat. I need my air fixed. I would never suggest Liberty Home to anyone and also have knowledge they are paying people off to shut them up. This is illegal behavior. Fix my air or give me every dime I put out for monthly fees and repair immediately. Or I’ll be taking this publicly. Tried uploading photos and videos but it’s now allowing me.

    The worst home warranty company I have ever dealt with. I have two policies for two different homes. I made a claim on washer and dryer, had to pay 75.00 each to HWC. Liberty Home Guard did not have a vendor in area so they approved me to get my own technician. The cost of repairs on dryer were 550.21 and washer 426.00. I had to pay out of my pocket for trip charge, diagnostics and some repair to dyer of 307.51. Now Liberty home guard only wants to pay 199.00 on washer and 299.95 on dryer. This is for the cost of parts only. So they are not paying for the technician to repair my washer or dryer. So after this my appliances will still be broken unless I pay out of my pocket again. Needless to say I have cancelled both the polices.

    One star is one too many. On pages 3 and 5 of their warranty, it clearly states that our home’s heating unit is covered. They state they will cover repair or replacement on page 5. Our boiler was acting up and making loud noises. Our HVAC Professional sent an overview that the system was failing. After 3 weeks, Liberty told us they would arrange a replacement. Their replacement agreement said that I had to pay $3650 for the replacement. We are quoted $3150 direct from the manufacturer - $500 less. Then we were told by Liberty’s service rep that our boiler wasn’t covered under the warranty. This is not acceptable under any circumstances. Do not buy a home warranty from Liberty Home Guard. You can thank me later.

I had to fight to get a dishwasher covered early in the contract, now they are telling me my refrigerator is past its life span even though their website states the life span is 2 and half years longer than the age of my refrigerator.     I've made 4 claims with Liberty Home Guard. Each one is worse than the last. The coverage is incredibly limited. The communication process is overbearing and repetitive, and the service providers are usually among the worst in the region (you may have better luck, but in Southern CA, this has been my experience). My claims have been modest-- a leaking sink, a leaking shower, a refrigerator whose ice-maker quit... The shower was not fixed properly and had the same issue just a year later. The ice-maker was not fixed properly and re-accumulated ice again within 4 weeks. The sink faucet was installed loosely and another technician had to come back and tighten everything down properly.

    This is not my *opinion* -- each of these reports come directly from the technicians Liberty Home Guard sent out themselves after I reported further issues (and paid another $75 each time for the privilege). Each time the technician would agree that it had not been done properly and would report it that way on the authorization request to LHG. Each time a rep from LHG would call me back and tell me that my annual policy cap for *that category* was exceeded (presumably by the service that failed to be executed properly) and that they would "as a courtesy" cover the cost of parts, but not labor. "Parts" in each instance amounts to virtually none of the overall cost of the repair.

    If you ask to speak with a supervisor, you will be transferred through a dizzying array of people who you need to explain the problem to again and again. This is the case pretty much every time. After weeks of people bothering me during business hours, I just give up on LHG and hire a reputable company in the area to complete the repair. BUYER BEWARE. The product is expensive, incredibly limited, and the service is weak. WOULD NEVER PURCHASE AGAIN. You're better off putting the money in a bank account and hiring professionals directly when you have an issue.

    Liberty Home Guard refused to honor my warranty for a dishwasher repair, despite clearly stating in the contract that all mechanical components (including the motor) are covered. They falsely claimed the repair was an “installation,” which is misleading and contradicted by their own terms. I paid for a multi-year plan, followed the claim process exactly, and was still denied. I’ve filed complaints with the FTC and the Texas Real Estate Commission. Avoid this company — they do not stand behind their promises.

    They have pretty line in the document. They don't do anything if your unit has any kind of leakage. Their claim cost now is $120. The max price for the unit is $2000 and a ridiculous $500 for the work. I'll put the same amount of money to my saving and then fix anything that breaks much easier rather than speak with their support that make you wait for weeks without hot water.

    Thanksgiving weekend, we had both heating units stop working. I called LHG and paid the $250 for them my 2 claims. On January 1, I received an email stating they would only give me a discount for me to fully replace both units. The repair company came out 2 weeks after me filing my claims with LHG and said the fix was easy. The cost would be about $200/ea for LHG. I called LHG the next day concerning their solution of the problems vs the repair company solution. LHG wouldn't budge.

    The other upcoming issue was it was also a holiday weekend and we were due for an arctic cold front to hit within a couple of days. The A/C company was not working during the weekend. I called the following Monday and the A/C company said there was no way to install new units before the Arctic cold front hit. This would mean NO heat! They could come and fix the problems for $400. It would work just fine. I spoke with LHG and they were not concerned about the Arctic cold front and us having no heat. I wrote to them on several occasions asking for a refund or them paying the $400. They NEVER returned my calls, emails or letters.

    It took Liberty Home Guard four days to get an AC technician to even come look at my broken air conditioner. Two weeks later, and they still have not authorized the repair. So I called them again and they tell me that they are only willing to pay about $400 of a repair. The cost a total of $1600. So they wanted me to pay them $1200 for the repair. Of course, this is after I’ve already paid $600 for the annual subscription of their warranty plus the $125 they charge just to file a claim.

    If I had just used my own money to pay for this repair instead of filing a warranty claim with liberty, I could’ve had my air conditioner repaired the day after it broke and could have had it repaired for much cheaper. I told liberty to just cancel the claim. I then called a different technician who came out the next day and repaired it for only $800. Liberty home guard… In fact, all home warranties… Are a waste of both time and money. Don’t buy them. You’re just inconveniencing yourself and asking to be charged fees for them to do nothing for you.

    I had an awful experience with Liberty Home Guard regarding a leaking water heater. From the beginning, their customer service was unhelpful and dismissive. Every time I called, I was either transferred to someone else or given a different set of instructions. It felt like they were purposely giving me the runaround just to avoid covering the repair.

    Despite following all of their so-called “requirements” and spending hours trying to get a clear answer, they ultimately refused to pay for the damage. Their lack of communication and accountability was beyond frustrating. I ended up canceling my policy because they completely failed to deliver on what they promised. Save yourself the headache—this company is not worth it. They’ll gladly take your money but disappear when you need them most.

    This company seems like a scam. They will not repair any appliance over 12 years old and instead will try to give a very small credit to sell you an appliance from their stock. This company sold me a policy for my home that is nearly 50 years old knowing full well they do not cover appliances over than 12 years to be repaired. Their customer service is a joke and will not help with anything. They refuse to repair anything and charge you out of pocket for repairs plus the service fee making the warranty useless. Do not use this company.

    LHG is horrendous. I've had a hot water heater issue for over two months. Going back and forth with them and they try to find any excuse to not cover anything. In the end, they want me to pay the technician to repair air on my end- It would've saved me hundreds of dollars to not even call them and have the service done myself. Don't even bother with them, they are definitely a scam. Save your money.

    Horrible company. Not BBB accredited and SECTION H1P of their agreement states that the agreement does NOT cover the installation of parts when an appliance breaks down. That should be all you need to know. Also, unless you have service records for your appliance or a/c unit dating back to the original purchase then they will deny your claim.

However, I have a high end fan I filed a claim for March 20. The claim representative asked me for the name and model number of the ceiling fan installed on a 12 ft ceiling. Also need a picture of the fan. In addition, I already paid the service fee no technician has reached out to me. I am canceling this contract. I'm glad I found out sooner than later.

    The only thing that improved is that I have the right unit in the house now and it is cooling as it should. Luz called and tried to mitigate the claim and it took several weeks to come to a resolve that should have been handled right away. At the end of the day, we found out several things that were amiss. I called out one of their contractors that took an initial look at the system and found it low on freon. He wanted to do a leak check. It took LHG 5 days to respond.

    In the meantime 100+ degrees outside, I called the installer who came out free of charge and determined that the evaporator module that LHG specified for the house was the wrong one. It was a 4 ton instead of a 5 ton evaporator and could not handle the charge from the 5 ton condenser so it purged the freon out. LHG would not take the installer's word for it and still wanted to charge me $600 for a leak check. Finally they agreed to have their 2nd AC contractor choice could come out at their expense to find the leak. Again, nonexistent, wrong evaporator installed.

    Would have given this company a 0 if I could have. I have had several interactions with this company over the 2 years that i have had the home warranty. The last one is the worst interaction. In October of 2024 I had two AC unit failures (separate units) the first one was not covered due to a short to ground on the compressor. Agreed to have it replaced and it was done at mostly my cost. I could accept that. The second unit went out shortly after the first. 5 ton ac unit. The handler failed but the previous owner replaced the condensing unit but not the handler. They said a mis-matched unit was not a covered item. Fast forward to a week ago. Ac is blowing hot. Called them out, should be covered. Workmanship is 60 days according to them, they have to check for leaks in the system. That is not covered. called out the original installer since it took 5 days for them to reach back out to me to tell me this news.

    Mind you in AZ the law reads that you need to respond in 24 hours with an AC complaint. The original installer came out and after some inspection they found out that the unit that LHG ordered for me and had installed was incorrect and was purging the Freon out due to a 4 ton handler on a 5 ton system. The TXV was purging it out. LHG says it is under the manufacturers warranty and they will not make it right. Looks like my high dollar install will now cost me more since they do not stand behind what they install and what they charge you for the install that they buy direct from the manufacturer. It is a scam and I don't see why they are winning awards for best customer service.

    Oh, by the way you cannot speak to a manager when they call you. They will call back in 1-2 business days. No direct phone #'s and no direct e-mail addresses. Keep in mind they tell you that they are available 24 hrs a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. But... If you call on the weekend they have no one to follow up on claim approval. They do not require that their technician they send out has to report within 24 hours. There is no direct line for the installer to get approvals.

    US News and World Report findings for home warranty companies put LHG near the top of the ratings and this is why I bought this particular home warranty, In fact, I bought several years in order to get the per year cost down. This is what happened to me with a person of strong accent and hard to understand over the phone.

    LHG sent their chosen HVAC tech to review our claim of no heat. This person is a professional and just in claiming the furnace was DOA. Next, LHG stated it will take up to 10 days to review, research to get back with offers. Normally it doesn’t take but 30 minutes to do this for a professional. But it took them 10 days to make their offer. The offer was a fair offer but why drag it out 10 days? I know why, in my opinion, it was strategy in hopes I would remove my claim. Since we were cold that’s exactly what I did. I went with a local company for a little more than their offer. I’m not sorry, for jumping ship. Within two days it was installed and producing heat. The overall feeling of attitude and lack of caring on their part made decline this offer.
