Liberty does what they promise, and even more. We are enrolled with a total home guard plan and have only had positive experiences with them. As an example, last month our mini refrigerator in our den stopped working properly, We reached out to Liberty, spoke with Brian. He was attentive and heard us out, and even though it is a mini-fridge, we really wanted it fixed as soon as possible. Two days later, a contractor came to our house and was able to repair the fridge, getting it back up and running in that visit. The contractor said that Brian spoke with him also and gave him specific detail around the mini fridge so he came with all the necessary parts. This is one of a few claims that went positively for us. We plan to continue using Liberty and have already recommended them to two of our friends.

My recent experience with Liberty was definitely the highlight of my home warranty customer career. First, I want to thank Jake for his prompt response and attitude. My garage door opener got stuck half-open while my car was inside, and it literally would have ruined my workday and possible weekend as this happened on a Friday. Jake had a contractor at my place in approximately 2 hours, which I have never seen before, with another home warranty company or even when I myself attempt to find handymen. That’s how you develop customer loyalty, Liberty! Thanks again, Jake!

My door slammed shut today, leaving me without keys or phone. Luckily I had my iPad in my bag. I was able to submit a claim through the portal and chat with the customer service agent. Liberty found me a locksmith who was at my house within 45 minutes, who opened the door and changed and upgraded the lock for us. Liberty even gave us a courtesy payout for the upgraded, keypad lock of $200. In my experience with other home warranty companies, you have to fight them for every cent, not with Liberty. Fantastic service, and I am really grateful for such fast assistance, which, to be honest, I did not expect!

I’ve had the a policy for our appliances and air conditioner for almost four years so far and besides for the deductible I pay on each claim, they’ve covered me in full every time, except for the air conditioner where we went over the cap but all in they still saved me ~$4,000 on that replacement. If you are not super handy and know how to repair or install new appliances in your home, I would highly highly suggest trying them out. I initially bought this policy as a monthly customer but after my first claim, I upgraded to a five year policy. I definitely recommend trying them out like I did, they’ve turned out to be a huge money saver for me and my family.

I have submitted two claims so far. Both were plumbing issues. The quality of the work was good both times. The first claim unfortunately was not covered but they did negotiate with the plumber and I know were able to get me a 30% discount on the work. The second claim was more expensive and they covered it in full. Even though they did not cover both claims in full, I’m still giving them a positive review because the speed, convenience, and overall savings have been good so far and compared to my prior home warranty company, they are definitely on a different level.

My most recent claim was a plumbing claim that unfortunately required replacing multiple pipes on a few floors. Ultimately, and I know this because I priced it out myself with a plumber I used in the past before I had Liberty, Liberty in conjunction with their plumber ended up saving me about $2,500 on the job. The work done was of good quality and they even got another contractor from their network to restore the dry walls when they were done. They were great guys that treated our home like their own.

I called Liberty for the water heater. At first, they told me that we had a bad connection. They couldn't understand or hear me. I was upset with that. Finally, I talked to someone and they set up an appointment. Within a couple of days, a guy came out, looked at it and said it was good. It was just surging. He checked into that. That's why we decided we got a good home warranty. They cover everything in the house.

Liberty Home Guard is more affordable. The only thing that I didn't like about Liberty was when it came down to the people coming in for my plumbing claim, they told me that I had to pay a fee for them to do the labor part. On the contract, it said things that are covered. I told them I read the contract and it says they cover it. That's probably why they changed their mind and decided to pay for it.

I placed two claims. Both were denied after I paid the $150 fee for a repair person to come and tell me that the appliances couldn't be fixed. An oven that was too high end and they didn't cover it even though I asked the agent before purchasing the insurance. And an LG refrigerator, not high-end, but was told they don't cover closed systems. What is a closed system??? He said it was in the contract, but he couldn't tell me what that meant. This tells me that anything that is enclosed is not covered??? That would mean most anything that would break down, right? Buyer Beware is all I can say.

Not worth the money you spend. Two separate claims and both of them were not handled worth a crap! First one my fridge went out when I was away and they took 3 weeks to tell me they were not going to cover it. They don't cover acts from god. I'm guessing a storm killed my fridge with lightning strike power surge. Second one my washer went out and at least they came out in two days and stated it was covered but not worth fixing as cost of repair was more than worth. It's a Maytag that I paid 1100$ for and they want to replace it with bottom of line Whirlpool 450$. I asked why they don't replace with similar or same as and was told it's in my contract if I read the fine print. Sad!!! I will be canceling asap!!! Beware. This company is bait and hook.

I’m very unhappy with the resolution from Liberty Home Guard regarding my 26 cu. ft. side-by-side refrigerator. Instead of offering to repair it, they recommended replacing it. LHG believes a suitable replacement was offering a 18.3 cu. ft. top freezer refrigerator or $500. While the company decides not to replace like-for-like products (brand, model, features), it’s unsatisfactory to believe that I should downsize my needs from a 26 to an 18.3 cu. ft. refrigerator. I believe they should replace it with a 26 cu. ft. refrigerator. Nothing precludes them from using good common sense and ensuring customer satisfaction.

I asked for them to expedite as I have my mother who's in Hospice and that's the bathroom she needs to use. They lied and told me they dispatched a plumber but when I went to check the claim it said being reviewed. Meanwhile they told me it was dispatched, I know there a lot of technicians in my area but they couldn't get one, told me to get one one on my own and they would reimburse me, just send the bill for review and payment. Not on your life Liberty Guard. I never got my $75.00 back from weeks ago. It's been over 72 hours since this claim was submitted. If I could have given a 0 score I would have.

I have a Kenmore professional elite double oven. It cost over 1400 dollars 8 years ago new. The circuit board to the top oven went out. It's 650 dollars to get it repaired. (350 circuit board, 300 labor.) It’s a really nice double oven my wife and I spent a long time picking out - so they tell me they suggest I get a new one and will send me a link to a site where they get "40% retail" - more likely, they get a kickback. In any case, they will only pay 350 dollars (what they deem the current oven is worth) for the repair or the new oven ... which is a fraction of the cost of a new oven. And they arbitrarily put a 350 value on the oven when BOTH ovens are working. Hell I could get 350 dollars easy for the oven now with just ONE working! Have you priced an oven LHG lately? I mean, paying 350 dollars for a working oven of almost any sort would be a miracle.
When I got this plan it’s like 800 dollars and I already paid 100 dollars for the service call. I expected when an appliance broke it would be fixed. It’s that simple. It’s what the agent told me on the phone. Clearly she screwed me. I am just SO GLAD I did not get the multi-year plan she tried so desperately hard to sell me. Let’s compare this against American home shield - about 11 years ago I had a very old oven that went out - they said it was no longer in manufacture, and they would have to replace the oven - well and good. So they did. They replaced the oven. There was none of this "350 dollar" run around.
I do NOT work for or an affiliated with ANY warranty company. I work for an oil and gas service provider in Houston, Texas and have an Electrical Engineering Degree. I will admit - they are fast about "settling" the claim but unless you have all new appliances I strongly suggest not buying their policy as it’s just a rip-off / has little value as they discount the appliances to like 20% of original / even less replacement cost. I suspect even with the discount the repair guy is pretty dang high but to get ANYTHING I must use their repair guy - another downside.

This company pays for nothing! They will find any excuse to not pay! And are very slow to respond. I waited one month this summer with no A/C, then they only covered approx 300 dollars out of a 1500 dollar bill. They will not pay for my pool pump, they said it was too old, despite the fact that I took a specific additional rider, as per the sales agent. It was 1 year old and still under warranty, all they needed to pay for was labor!!! They would not pay for my freezer repair, again I took a specific rider, as per the sales agent.
Now they will not pay for my washer/dryer repair but are offering $300 dollars due to their age, I have the receipt from 2018 for them. They will send me a new garbage disposal, but will not cover installation! And took my expensive 100 service fee, even though they did not even send out a repair person. They waited over 30 days, because the repair person that came here ghosted us both!!! Just a total waste of money. I have finally spoke to DEREK today who admitted that it is a parts warranty! What the heck?? They also charge a 100 fee if they send a repair person or not!!!!

My warranty was a lifesaver this summer. I actually bought it in November 2021 but had not used it once until May. In May I had a refrigerator claim that went smoothly but the reason I’m writing this review is because of how well Liberty handled the situation when my Air Conditioning system broke down in 100+ degree heat. They were able to get a contractor out to my house the next morning. Even though it was a big job, which took him about 4 hours, he had all the parts he needed to get the job done. All in, it only cost me my deductible of $100 also. The AC has been working perfectly fine since. I’m really impressed with them as I’ve heard such bad things about home warranty companies taking weeks for even simple claims. Hopefully they continue to provide this level of service.

Our air conditioner's problem appeared to be due to something wrong with the breaker box. We called Liberty Home Guard and an agent answered in just 30 seconds. The agent Jason actually tapped his manager Ryan to get on so that they could try to best diagnose the issue remotely. After about 15 minutes of going through what we’re dealing with and seeing Ryan let us know that there was actually a repairman in the area and they may be able to reroute him to our house in the next hour. We acquiesced and 45 minutes later an AC repairman was at our house. He was already informed about our issue and was able to make the repair in 45 minutes. We are incredibly grateful to Ryan, Jason, and the repairman (my apologies I forget his name), for all the hard work they did as the heat was brutal so the quick service was so important and helpful to us.

They are really a wonderful company to work with. They’re constantly rolling out new features and they’ve been truly ready to help any time we needed it. For example, I called in because my son put a toy in our dishwasher which broke it. I told the rep that I knew that was covered but I was hoping they would still help me find a repairman. Not only did they say they were willing to find a repairman, they also said they would likely issue a courtesy reimbursement for the claim, even though it was not covered! When it was all said and done, the repair work cost $350 and Liberty Home Guard covered $200 of it. They always make sure you understand the process and are always polite and courteous. The Total Home Guard Plan saved us tons of money over the last four years. I definitely recommend LHG to all!

Before July 4th, we started having issues with our ac. Took them approx 2 weeks to send a person. It didn't work and their contractor said they would be back Saturday... Yes.. Holiday weekend, we were initially impressed. No call, no show. No to taking phone calls too. Call Liberty... They say they need info from THEIR Contractor. Hasn't given him the necessary information. Reminder this is Texas in the middle of July. Oh July heat is over a 100 and we are without AC without ac. We call them again and they say they're sending it to their next department. Procurement's the last department art man and it takes 2 weeks for that department to find the right part. W keep calling because they don't respond back to us.
Procurement waits another 2 weeks and it's finally decided on what part we need and the price is finally it's finally given to them and they are agreeable to it and we are saving only $150 on this part that's almost a 1000. So much for having savings on Davies on a warranty system. But it gets better yet yet. So now it's been over a month and a 1/2 without us having AC that's working correctly and we had to buy window units. And they we get told it's gonna be approximately 2 weeks for the unit to show up. Great great!
So finally over a month and a 1/2 has passed closer to 2 months and the part is here. The guy the guy threw multiple cancelations not showing up and this is our contractor finally shows up. The part's been here. Phone for 2 weeks.. Remember this is their contractor. We talked to them multiple times about his lack of responsibility stability. About him not showing up when he says. About him not answering the phone to even call us or say he's gonna be late or anything. He just doesn't show up.. I know it's not them but it's their contractor. We requested as another one but they wouldn't do that .
So finally the day comes and he's actually here and going to put it in and they Liberty Home Guard warranty orders the wrong part. Almost a $1000 on our money and they order the wrong part. You would think that they would honor their mistake.. No. You know what they tell us. They can't take it back. We're stuck with a part that won't-work out. A $1000. It's they won't take it back because it was a special order.. Their mistake, their special order, and they won't take responsibility..
Now let's be honest if it was a mistake take…. What I'm trying to say is anyway it makes a mistake they're expected to take their responsibility and I understand that you take your lumps growing up you take your lumps as an adult but as a business whose responsibility is to protect yourself are a it yourself are a person sorry from the cost of life on your house they're causing it. That is their mistake. MISTAKE.
Again if we did this we would pay for it and we are paying for it currently because they're not gonna give us our money back. And we don't want to keep going through this and pay another $3000 just for the interior units. Burger units and what a fantastic and we're stuck with another $3000. Plus but you can't get past the call Center. Who else has had these issues with this company and had their reviews deleted. I'm actually wondering if this review will get deleted somewhere because I don't see any negative reviews and I'm telling you if this is happening to us it's happening to others.

Just like all the other companies, they have more reasons to deny coverage than to actually provide the service you paid for. In this case, my AC has been out for over a week in South Texas where the temp is still in the 90s and it’s over 80 degrees in my house. They don’t care. The system is as old as the house, 19 years old. Contractor just took pics of data plates and didn’t open anything up. He did some tests that show the unit is about to be locked up. He said “normal wear and tear” of a 19 year old unit.
Their agent called me and had the audacity to say “we don’t cover rust and corrosion, but we are going to help you with the price of a new unit”. I’ve been waiting for over a week for them to get the pricing and call me back to see how much they want me to pay for what they should be covering… in the heat. I think they want me to get fed up and pay out of pocket. It’s hard to believe a company their size can’t get prices and bids, but I’ve been able to get three bids this last week. I highly recommend not wasting your money, they’re just like all the rest.

I paid that upfront, 3 months quick. I have had nothing but issues with this company trying to replace appliances that have failed on me. First my fridge. They only want to give me $300 for the appliance. Now my AC goes out. It's been out since August... IN ARIZONA. I have been calling and calling them. I have my 71-year-old mother living with me, and it has not been pretty. They finally reach out, and they say "Well we can replace it, but since there was a leak we don't cover that." WHAT THE **... It's in the fine print. "Oh and by the way, we said we will cover $500, whoops... Our mistake, we are only covering $250, we sent you the wrong letter." This company is not worth the headache. I'm not pleased with my recent experience with Liberty because what the tech came in and did was so minimal. He didn't go up in the attic to look and see. The ductwork was only four inches in diameter and it was hanging from the vents in the ceiling. They took the cover off again and saw that it was a four-inch hose was there and it was just blowing all over the place. It wasn't attached to anything that was supposed to be there and it never should have been a four-inch. That's the size of the dryer vent. I was not very happy. He was nice and friendly. I purchased this warranty for a condo based on the good reviews. Our washer dryer combo unit broke down. I called LHG right away. They sent me the name of one repairman. I called right away and it took him a week and a half to get to me. He did not take it apart, just tested it and said it seemed to be working. I asked him if he could fix it and he said no. Next use, the washer was leaking again. I didn’t hear from LHG so I called. They reassigned the same repairman. I was calling twice a day to let them know that I was waiting for next step and they said I had to wait for repairman to let them know he couldn’t repair it which we couldn’t get him to do. After me calling him repeatedly, he finally called LHG.
They called me and said machine was 20 years old and they would give me $250 towards a new one. The new one retails for around $1400 and it has to be a specific size because the space is tight. They sent me a list of large freestanding washers even though they had the model and serial number of old model. I did my own research and found the exact model, called the information to customer service. I waited a week and just followed up and was informed that no one input the information so I lost another week. I’m going into week 6 and have spent hours and hours on this. I took out this policy because the appliances in this condo were old. Maybe I’m clueless but I thought they covered cost to replace but I will get $250 credit. They did say cost would be wholesale but we’ll see. It’s been a nightmare. I wanted to try a home warranty as a test to see if it was efficient and truly helpful and this has been a fat fail. I can’t say I wasn’t warned.

Liberty Home Guard company has given me more headaches than I can count. Based on previous reviews, this is the best home warranty company in the world. Last year, when I signed up and spoke with the sales, he made it seem like I was getting a great deal, even going so far as to throw in addons for free. However, I quickly learned this company does not want to payout for claims. Your coverage may start 30 days after signing up. However, they will not give you full coverage until about 4-5 months into your policy. This is something they do not tell you upfront or when you file the initial service request. They wait until the tech has diagnosed your issue, then drop the bomb that you are not covered, or they will only pay a partial amount toward the repair.
Last month, when the garage door company came out to fix the door opener, I called in to find the repair resolution as the tech could complete the job because they had the right equipment on file. I was told that parts were covered, but I would be responsible for labor costs. Well, I read the policy, and it clearly said all garage door components were fully covered. So there was no reason I should have been responsible for paying for the labor cost of the repair. I had to ask to speak with a supervisor; the rep said they would waive the charge, and I wouldn't have to pay for labor. This was a feeble attempt to solicit more money out of their customers. And every time I call, I have a similar experience of them trying to find a loophole and finagle out of paying for the claim. Their customer service staff is rude, unprofessional, and has a horrible disposition. I will not be reviewing my policy with them.

Then a month after that our microwave broke and they sent us a new one without charging us a deductible or giving us any hassle. He provided me a few replacement options, but I did not like any of them. John said no issue, he’d go back to the drawing board for me and an hour later gave me two additional options, and there was one I really liked. John right away then arranged for my new freezer, which should be delivered this week. Once again excellent service from Liberty. Thank you the help!

So far they are failing to be helpful. Got a home warranty paid by the seller. It doesn't cover the fact that the refrig doesn't make ice. Now the AC doesn't work. Called today and was told the system wasn't updated so they couldn't take my claim. Told to call back tomorrow. Called a few hours later, told that my account was pending because it wasn't paid for. Again, told to call back tomorrow. I had to ask them to check, turns out he wasn't even using the right account number. Claims there are 2 accounts with my name and address. Gave him the right account number and he still tried to tell me to call back tomorrow. Had to insist he use the right account to take the claim now. All that and now I have to wait 2 days for them to even call to set up an appointment for someone to look at the AC. Seems they do anything to make it hard to actually file a claim and get work done.

I bought five policies from Liberty. As far as their service, they are worlds ahead of our former company. When I made my first claim online with Liberty, I was surprised because they immediately sent an email to confirm some stuff. Then I got a phone call from a gal and I didn't answer it because I thought it was a spam call. So she left a message and that she would send me an email, which she did. When I had a question for her, she took care of it. I never had customer service like that.
When I put in a service call for one of my condos because the washing machine wasn't working, I waited 48 hours and thought, "Well, am I supposed to be contacting them?" So I called the company, and they said, "No, you have to make your appointment through Liberty." There was a lot of miscommunication. So it took a while, but they did finally get there, and they did a good job.
I made my second claim for my own house. We have a plumbing issue in one of the bathtubs. I put the claim in on a Saturday, so I knew the weekend probably wouldn't count. But I haven't heard anything and they haven't even assigned anybody. So I sent a note asking what was going on. This wasn't an emergency because we have three bathrooms. So I waited and they said, "Oh, we'll push it through for you." Customer service did a good job. Within a few hours, I got the email saying that someone has been assigned as our plumber.
I waited till almost closing time and I called the contractor. The person said, "Oh, I can't even find your claim number. We can't make an appointment till we get the information from your company." So I reached out to Liberty and they said they already sent it. But it was like they were talking to the plumber and I was talking to the receptionist person. They finally got the plumber and he was supposed to come last Thursday. He called the day before and said something with their technicians and they pushed it off till today. They called yesterday to confirm and luckily, they did push it, but they pushed the hours. So it's gonna be really late in the day. Overall, the people that Liberty gets aren't really responsive, but Liberty itself has been really good so far.

I was very unhappy with my previous provider, which was American Home Shield. They caused me to lose over $1,500 due to the contractors that they sent to my house who gave misinformation. Also, every time I called, I was talking to people in India and it would be a different story every time I call. One of the things that appealed to me about Liberty Home Guard is that they have people to communicate with who are in America and they understand American culture. Their claims process was pretty streamlined. The person that they sent was through a previous company that I had used who I really liked. So, I was pleased to know that they were also contracted with Liberty. Go for Liberty. Their salesperson was really good. He was very knowledgeable. Everything was pretty streamlined.

Jake was really helpful and took a personal touch. I needed to have my Air Conditioning system replaced and due to lingering supply chain issues from the pandemic, both Liberty and my own research estimated it would take three weeks for the replacement to be installed. Jake was the one who first told me about the delays but he went ahead and left me his personal email in case I was able to beat their timeline. I ended up finding a unit and a technician who could replace my AC, because another customer of that technician’s cancelled, the job and the unit was compatible. I then just emailed Jake who was able to get me the approval for this replacement. I ended up saving over $3,000 on the replacement because of Liberty’s involvement, albeit after the fact. Jake was great at communication and easy to work with. Undeniably a great experience, especially when graded against other home warranty companies.

But we sat overnight wondering, "Are they gonna come back after we paid them all this money and say 'No, we can't approve that'?" They had us on pins and needles. Also, when the person doing the repair analyzed everything and sent the request to Liberty, he said, "Typically, they get back to me just in a few minutes, sometimes longer." A guy ended up calling me to schedule the appointment. He came from pretty far away and I appreciated him coming out. He was fine and pretty thorough. He explained in detail. He let me know that it was a part that was needed. He had to leave here and go find it at a different location because it wasn't something that he had with him. It didn't take him long at all.
One thing that was a little odd to me was when I looked up the reviews for Liberty, I noticed that the bulk of the good reviews were based on how well the agents sold the warranty than on the actual repairs. That was odd. Liberty has to do a little better because that will keep people from going to them. If I had seen that and paid attention to that piece first, I probably would have felt like the people were all paid or encouraged with an incentive to go with the company.

Update: READ. I am, in my opinion, being extorted (for lack of a better word) to amend reviews to be positive and remove my BBB complaint. I am being promised hundreds more if I provide the review as specified by their compliance department - 5 stars, which is an opinion I’m told I SHOULD hold at this point. I’ve debated over the past few hours about posting this. As a result of it, I suspect I will be threatened and begged to removed this update. I feel responsible to make other consumers aware that the reviews and BBB status you see may be heavily influenced by the company REQUIRING a dissatisfied customer sign a settlement agreement within 48 hours to receive their refund that they have already been told they are entitled to.
Yesterday I spoke to Mariam in compliance and I was told I would receive an enhanced refund, just keep an eye out for the email. There were no strings attached at this time and I was under the impression that it would be a 100% refund to make up for the awful experience I’ve received. Mind you, this is a week after my refund was already supposed to be issued - which means that THEY have breached their contract that I never signed and was never provided. Today, I received her email.
I was told to call/provide a time for a call to discuss the enhanced refund. I was then told I could receive a full refund ONLY if I amend my BBB complaint to be positively resolved and my Google review to be 5 stars. I was told the opinion I should have should now be positive. I expressed that this was unethical and felt like extortion as they are effectively withholding my refund for over a week now and demanding I comply to lying about my experience. I was assured it was not because I should just provide a positive review since I’m getting my refund. I explained that I would be lying to consumers, and I would not do this. I was argued with and told what amounts to “sign the settlement, change the review, get the refund.”
No. That’s unacceptable. It’s unethical. It’s bad business. This is a major selling point for them - that they have all of these positive reviews and BBB profile. As far as I can determine, it’s also illegal per the FTC (and many other government sites describing consumer protection laws) to withhold a valid refund or deny a valid refund with contingencies relating to reviews. I have now reported this behavior to the FTC, NY DFS, and will be filing complaints with the AG offices of my state and New York. I will be updating them as more information comes in.
The funniest thing is, and I told them this, if they would have just given me my refund and asked me to update my review to express the new events that have transpired, I would have. I probably would have bumped it to 3 stars, since, in the end, I got my refund. Being refunded and encountering one person who provides decent customer service doesn’t excuse the rest of my experience, and my review should reflect that. Just give me my refund Liberty. Mail the check for $2652.43 and let me go on my way. This has involved hours of my time and it’s unacceptable.
If you’ve read this far, I hope you don’t fall for this. I hope you read reviews for Liberty with more scrutiny. I may be the first they’ve done this to, but I would be surprised. In fact, now that I dig through reviews across platforms, I see that this has occurred before. Lied to me about the coverage to get me to sign up for a 5 year plan, failed to provide the terms of the contract, provided atrocious customer service, has no way of escalating an issue, extremely rude reps when you call in, etc etc etc. I could go on for an hour and write a thesis about how this company has failed on every promise provided. I just want the refund that was supposed to be issued a week ago when I was promised a follow up call (again) that didn’t come (again).

They fixed it and haven’t had any problem since. The tech was a very nice gentleman and polite, too. Did his business and was out of here. I'd definitely recommend Liberty Home Guard.

Six weeks after moving into our new home, our Oven, Dishwasher, and Refrigerator all broke. They had the oven fixed the next day, the Dishwasher the day after and while the refrigerator did take a while–8 days, Liberty Home Guard covered all 3 of these repairs in full. Also they did warn us ahead of time that the refrigerator fix may be delayed due to a part being backordered and logistically difficult to get so I do commend them for clear communication and alignment of expectations. In summary, I am very satisfied with the way they handled all these claims and would definitely recommend this company to others!

I and my best friend moved together, buying homes next door to one another. My best friend did the home warranty research and came back with Liberty. We’ve both had about 10 claims in total over the year and while she had one experience that resulted in delays (4 weeks to get her oven replaced), my claims all went smoothly. Together we estimate we’ve saved over $4,800 dollars over the year. Which is why I am writing this review.

We have two policies with Liberty Home Guard. One for our condo and another for our getaway home that is out of state and that we Airbnb frequently. We’ve had one claim on our condo for our air conditioning system and seven claims for our Airbnb (5 appliances and 2 plumbing). After this last, 7th claim with our Airbnb I decided to write this review. We had an active leak and were expecting guests to arrive later the next day. I forget who I spoke with but a supervisor got on the line to ensure not only that a plumber would arrive asap but also that they had contractors available to deal with any water damage. Thankfully the plumber arrived two hours later, and the water damage was not so bad so in addition to fixing the leak in that trip, he went ahead and repaired the water damage. I ended up saving $400 as well thanks to the policy with Liberty Home Guard. They’ve been more like a property manager than a home warranty company for us.

I am not a happy customer. The quality of customer service and follow-up is terrible. My warranty covers my air condition; however, they want me to make a payment of 5000 and Liberty Home Guard make a contribution of 1,102 dollars in order for the repairs to be fixed. This is not a warranty, it is a gimmick! How convenient! Liberty claims to be number one in quality service, however their customer satisfaction in my experience is poor quality. Quality service is meeting and exceeding customer's expectations.
Liberty has not met my expectations or exceeded my expectations. In my view, they take advantage of the consumer. The service is terrible. I am a paying customer and have been a long-time customer and the one time I call I get the runaround and no assistance. Liberty I hope you don't treat all your customers like this. IF you treat others with such poor service, I am going to do my best to address this issue so I would be the last faithful paying customer you abuse.

My oven broke 3 days before I was hosting friends and family and I was super nervous debating whether to order in or not. We decided that since we needed to call Liberty Home Guard anyway, we’d call and get their take. I spoke with Lorraine who offered to see if any technicians were in our area. She said there weren’t any currently but later today if we were available she did have one repair technician she could reroute and would arrive between 5-7pm. She also helped us assess whether the issue was fixable and if it would be fixed in one visit.
Based on her assessment we decided to further wait until the technician arrived to properly diagnose the issue prior to ordering the catering. The technician arrived and thankfully was able to fix the issue then and there. While it was a close call, I’m happy I had Liberty and Lorraine standing behind me every step of the way. And I can’t even begin to express what a night and day difference this is from my prior home warranty company.

I filed a claim on April the 19th and they immediately sent a technician a couple of days later, which I was thrilled about. The refrigerator was not making ice so the technician checked it out and he said that the motor that was inside the icemaker needed to be replaced. He was able to check everything out and said that he would go back and give it to his company and then, they will get in contact with Liberty. I have not heard anything from Liberty so yesterday, I called them and I explained that no one had come out or my case is still pending, and I needed to know why. The rep put me on hold and when he came back, he said he would have someone call me. I asked if they would call me today and he said yes. But it never happened.
I called the technician from Mr. Appliance and I spoke to the lady who was in the office. She said that she sent Liberty all my information last Friday and that they were lying if they said that they have not received the information because she sent it to them herself. She said that she would check back with me but she didn't. I don't know what's going on with the claim right now. I have to go back online and see if anybody did anything. I pay $75 a month for the service and I'm not happy.
I'm not satisfied with Liberty Home Guard. This is a second claim I have with them. The technician came and said that the freezer door was off the track. He put it back on track and I haven't had that problem with the frost in the freezer anymore and I was fine with that. But I'm not fine with waiting this long because the icemaker is not working. And all they had to do was order the part. It’s frustrating because they take out of my bank account $75 every month, on time. So I'm going online to check again and then, I'm going to call back Liberty to find out why they didn't call me back yesterday and to find out if they got that information.

The remaining have been either neutral or negative. I have to say that in the beginning of my coverage was when I had most of the neutral or negative experience with claims taking longer (about 3 weeks) than I would have liked and the savings not being great. I decided to stick it out with them and they’ve been on a positive trajectory since my first year and the experiences keep improving. I said no a couple of times and so the rep kept making the deal a little sweeter. But we ultimately got a good deal. The only thing I noticed after I signed up that was disappointing was that I discovered in some of their fine print that certain kinds of appliances that they consider high-end require an additional premium. Our dishwasher is one of them. But that additional premium was $500 over the life of the plan so that's almost the value of the new dishwasher so I didn't have it.

But their process was very easy. The claim that I had at my house, I paid my $70 for them to come. The company found the leak and painted it with some white stuff. They’re supposed to come back and paint the wall of where the damage was. But they never came back. They charged me three times for doing the work. I already paid Liberty Home Guard. I had to call my charge card and have them take them off my charge card. I was going back and forth for over two months, where they were charging me for a service when I already paid Liberty Home Guard.

I called in January to get everything settled. They were on vacation and couldn't come. Called again mid-January, left a text message several times. Today, I said I gotta call them. As soon as I hit the button on the internet, my phone rang. But the guy was very nice. And he answered my questions. He answered some of my questions before I asked him. So, he did a good job. I have a maintenance agreement on my heating and air conditioning. And plumbing because the house is 30 plus years old. I've lived in it since 1988. But mostly, my appliances, which I purchased new back in 2011. But I retired after that. And then my husband became ill and was forced to go into retirement early. And none of the appliances have had the maintenance that I would have liked to have done, once a year, get them checked up and done. So, I felt like I was asking for it if I didn't do something.
My washing machine, I don't like it. When I set it off, if there's water in it, even though you set it off, you can even pull the plug from the wall, and it will still empty. It will still pump the water out. So if you've got a clogged drain and you don't want that machine empty, it's going to empty and that clogged drain is going to flow all over the place. And what I wound up having to do was climb up on top of the washing machine and open a window and put the hose out the window. If Liberty Home hadn't had the appliances, I wouldn't have went for that. Because it's another step I didn't feel like I needed. But it was mostly the appliances I was concerned about.
