LG washer/dryer combo - DON'T buy one! Enormous vibration, the house shakes. Close to 2 hours to wash & dry ONE bed sheet. Sheet emerges WET (not just "damp") and needs thorough drying in the 20 yr. old reliable Kenmore basement dryer. LG = What a mistake!

My husband and I bought a top loading digital, true balance washing machine about a year ago. Since our first wash load, it has been nothing but trouble. The thing constantly goes off balance and it honestly sometimes takes a WHOLE DAY to wash 1 load! Also, our water bill has tripled since we bought the machine, because every time it goes off balance it tries to balance itself by adding more water! We will never buy an LG product again! BEWARE!

They do not stand behind their product. Had issues with the washer the day we installed it. It leaked. Leak has stopped for now. Took over a month to get someone out to look at it. Repair person said they were ordering parts. Have not heard back from him. The washer works for now but what happens when it breaks down again? We have contacted LG several times and have gotten the runaround every time. They will not even give you an email you can reply to. DO NOT BUY LG. The company we purchased the item from has been very helpful. They even contacted LG several times.

Bought our LG Front Loader Steam Washer (WM2501H*A) 9 years ago. 4 years after purchase we had to have the drum replaced due to the bearings going bad. Luckily it was covered under warranty so it was free. However, it's only been 4 years since the replacement and again the drum bearings are going bad and need to be replaced. I was told that with the "direct drive system" the bearings had a longer life than previous models. If this is true then the previous models must have only lasted 2 years! We are going to run this one into the ground, spent all that money on it and feel like I might as well get my $$'s worth (and it isn't worth fixing at this time.) I will NEVER buy another LG washer (and possibly product) in the future. I feel like the product they produce is low quality at a high quality price. I will be going back to top loader when this one completely fails.

Bought a LG Top load washer less than 3 years ago for $720. It's constantly going out of balance several times every load you wash. Now the drive shaft broke and took out the wash plate as well. Despite the fact that the front of the washer has a 10 year warranty sticker plastered on the front of it LG refused to authorize the repair center to cover the parts under warranty, the cost of which is approx. $400-450. I called LG directly and they and talked to a technician first and she just kept telling me it was not her department and that she was only authorized to talk to the service repair company and not me.

I had to beg to talk to a supervisor and had to wait forever to talk, for her to get on the line only to tell me that the 10 year warranty only covers the rotor and stator, not the drive shaft and basically told me I was SOL. Bottom line save yourself the heartache and money and don't ever buy a LG washer. They are JUNK and their customer service is non-existent!

We have an LG Inverter Direct Drive top loader washing machine with the large tub. I love it and it cleans to my satisfaction. It even has the clean tub selection. It senses the amount of laundry and puts in water to match. My husband thinks the water bill is less. My one little problem is I am short and sometimes I have to reach way down to pick up little items on the bottom and if that is the only complaint I have I am well satisfied and extremely happy with the machine.

Refrigerator Model is LFC20760SW. When washing machine broke in June I was told it was not worth fixing. In Feb I came home from vacation and the food in refrigerator was spoiled. The lights don't even work. I checked breaker. The vacuum works in the electrical receptacle so it not the power. Also at least 4 of the plastic pieces have broken off. Both sides of the slider in the deep freezer broke. The door storage broke. Some other pieces have broken off. I will never buy an LG again. Can't get a LG repair person either. I really like my LG washing machine and dryer. It doesn't look as upgraded as some of Samsung's new dryers but it gets the job done. But I would have preferred more color choices without having to spend an additional couple hundred dollars. I love that there is not an agitator and it has an extra large capacity. I can easily fit my king size comforters in the basin. I love the turbo speed function that allows you to wash your clothes at a reduced time. You also save a lot of water because it only puts in enough water to cover the clothes.

The machine does a 'survey' for the weight and size of the load to determine the amount of water to use. I normally only need the smallest amount of detergent in most loads, so you save money there too. There are plenty of cycles types to select from and some you can customize. My dryer has an awesome steam feature! This really reduces wrinkles in dress clothing! I also love the sensing feature on the dryer. I rarely have to add more time or dry a second time. It also has a large capacity. The signal indicating both the washer and dryer could be louder.

There is also an app with the units that you can get laundry tips. I would have preferred to be able to start and stop functions and/or time left on loads with the app. You can also use your cell phone to diagnose errors on the units. You hold the phone to the unit and it sends codes to help with troubleshooting. The washing machine could be more quiet. I can definitely hear the wash if I'm in rooms next door. During some heavy rinse cycles I can hear and feel it shaking since the unit is on my second floor. All in all I really like the set.

My wife and I had higher expectations on the model and make. We thought that being a LG model and the new concept of front loading that the clothes would come out cleaner. As far as water consumption no complaints and the company is in the right direction on that topic. But for tumbling of the clothes to get them clean, I think that we need to get back to the drawing board. And as for the quietness of the machine no complaints, either very quiet especially for a washer.

My washer is just over 3 yrs old and the bearing went. When I called LG to explain the problem they told me that the parts were under warranty but the service call wasn't. So they would charge me for a service call and the labor!! And then they went on saying and if it is something else other than the motor/bearing or parts that are covered then we will be responsible for the parts. All that is wrong is a bearing went and it should be covered a 100%. She goes on saying "if you read page in your owner's manual it goes over what is covered and that we don't cover service calls or labor."

She was very rude and no help at all. I feel a washer should last longer than 3 yrs. I take exceptionally good care of my things and LG just falls apart. I am now looking into other companies that do repairs on appliances cause after reading other people's horror stories I don't want any of their rude, unprofessional, crappy employers stepping foot into my home. My luck their employees would disconnect something and flood my house!

Had been noticing small (and some large too) particles on my clothes. Blamed it on everything else except the washing machine. Read book and was instructed to clean tub with bleach or a tub clean. Cleaned it and the large particles became small particles. In the beginning I rewashed everything which didn't help. So now I have to shake the clothes outside, rinse and spin again, put in dryer and shake clothes outside or pick or roll off the particles. Have to be very careful when clothing is wet because the particle will smear and leave a mark on the clothes. Does not clean the clothes as well either.

I called company and was given foreign representative who read from a script saying to set the washer on a certain number she gave me and put phone near the machine. She said it is okay and had no error codes. Spoke to another person who said to have someone come in to check it. When reading the website about this machine, it has the identical problem with many other consumers. One person described the problem as having a can of Pepsi explode in machine. Many have had techs come to fix with no such help to the problem, just a large bill to pay. This is sad. I have a top loader bought in 2015.

The front loaders appear to also have a smell which I seemed to combat with the bleach and leaving the top open. It is indescribable and I do intend to write to the State Attorney General as this does not seem to be something that should happen with a brand new machine and the company takes no responsibility for the problem. Too many consumers have this problem. I could go on but I get extremely upset and my daughter bought in 2016 a front loader and I'm sure it will happen to her. My husband researched on computer and we have to try to get more of these particles dissolved which we are going to try with vinegar. Bleach breaks up the sediment which you cannot see but the vinegar supposedly dissolves it. I am 69 years old and have never had such a problem with a washing machine. This is a disgrace!!!

My main objection about the washing machine is that the gasket that goes around the front door, collects a lot of grime and it sits underneath where you can't see it. If it is not cleaned out frequently the black gunk is spread on the load of cloths. Also, water sits at the bottom of the gasket and mold begins to build from one wash to the next. Needs a better way to seal the gasket and stop it from leave it wet when done.

Don't do it!!! Do not invest in a LG Front Loader Washing Machine!! It is the worst washing machine, the most I have ever paid for a washing machine I have ever owned. Here you go: 1) There is a terribly designed trap door at the bottom left where you are supposed to a) clean your filter and b) drain your tub out if pump breaks or any other problem with water remaining in tub. Well, if the tub gets full of water and doesn't drain out, the tube doesn't work and you open the lint cleaner and water goes all over your floor. It is horrible. I really hate this washing machine. Now it is 2 years old and the WATER PUMP had to be changed out. OMG, what a disaster of an investment. Please listen to me: DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS WASHING MACHINE.

Absolutely TERRIBLE machine - LG Washing Machine-Model WT1101CW. Bought this washing machine 3 yrs ago. Broke 4 months ago. Used SEARS Home Repair to fix (I bought washer from them). 5 technicians, 4 major parts replaced, 7 service calls later machine still broken - unbalance load indicator goes on stopping machine from running and then if you get the unbalanced load indicator to go out (at least 6 tries), it then goes thru 3 spin/rinse cycles, refilling the tub each time, even if the machine is EMPTY. Takes 3-4 HOURS for a "normal" no frills cotton wash cycle (using default settings) to complete. Absolutely ridiculous. My old GE and Whirlpool worked like a Timex for 12 years. I can't sell it because it's defective. I wouldn't even give this machine to charity.

SEARS won't stand behind its 90 day service warranty. The technicians would NEVER let me run a FULL load through a cycle to test it. $600 dollars in repairs/service calls and it still doesn't work right! They won't give me my money back for the service calls that did nothing to fix the problems, even though the Techs promised the new parts would fix it. HA! DON'T BUY FROM SEARS or LG. This is the worst machine ever. They are now selling a 2 year old machine at local flea markets to see if a sucker will buy it. True Balance means it will never truly balance and will not wash one load of clothing without it taking you hours. This machine might work on cement and only cement because if it is on a wood flooring it will not work.

I have found that if I load clothes, it keeps trying to sense the clothing, then I shut it off, restart and let it go. I can get half a cycle done until it spins then is off balance again. Then you shut it off, turn it back on to spin. Shut it off, then restart with rinse and spin... You can sometimes get it to work. The worst design ever for this high priced piece of junk.

LG is not a company I will ever purchase from again. Do not buy this machine and do not take this machine if it is given to you for free. All other comments are true. It will not wash clothes. It just spins around and uses endless amounts of water to balance. Hours upon hours for 1 small load. If you have this machine do what I listed above. Have the exact same type of clothing, start a cycle, let it get it wet, when it gives you the error message shut it off, restart when clothes are wet, then when it does the IE shut it off, restart on spin, then restart on rinse/spin. You can get one load done if you are lucky.

LG is a horrible company. My LG phone failed after a year, the Washer has never worked... and other items. No more LG. Life is not Good with LG. Life stinks with LG and you pay the price. We paid over $900.00 for this washer and it never worked right. We are seasonal so by the time we returned the warranty is up and they can't find the extended warranty in Lowe's system. Go figure. The call center was also a joke. Not in the USA and they tell you you are out of luck. Stay away from LG.

In 2013 I purchased a set of LG large capacity washer and dryer. I was excited when I got my new machines. At first I was amazed, as it did not seem my clothes had been washed so clean and dried so efficiently in years, compared to my old washer and dryer. After a few months, it seemed the washer would stop itself more and more often, with a UE flashing on the screen and required opening the machine and rearrange heavy wet clothing until it would spin through.

About that time I received a notice of a recall that affected my machine. I called the recall hotline number and a technician was sent to replace the faulty parts. This solved the problem with balance and wash cycle, but left the washer with few choices for temperature. You have the choice of warm/warm, regardless of the setting other than tap cold. Cold/cold runs warm/warm. At least the machine was operating and cleaning the clothes. I was told it may happen again and that, if it did, to keep the number for the recall hotline. I have always made a special point of taking large blankets or anything other than regular clothing or bedding/towels, to a public laundry.

Recently, once again, the machine has been throwing the clothing to the side and refusing to complete the load without the struggle of reaching in and rearranging the load, reading unbalanced several times before the load would finish. The last load I did was two regular bed sheets and a few wash clothes and it stopped twice before completed the cycle.

I called the recall hotline from my paperwork and a tech was sent to our home, today. I was at work, so my husband greeted the repair technician. After trying the machine on its cycle, running on empty, he called me at work to tell me it tested normal. I assured him it was far from normal. The technician proceeded to tell me it is very important with this delicate machine, to only wash light loads of the same clothing, such as sheets only, towels only, light cotton with like size and fabric and jeans or heavier clothing, with only a few at a time and no other clothing. He stated he wanted to run a load of laundry to test the machine.

My husband started putting clothes into the washer when the technician stopped him and told him to select only a few items of like size and fabric. The technician ran the load and called to inform me the machine had no problems and he was closing the ticket on the repair. I told the repairman to go home and ask his wife if she would be satisfied to do her laundry under the specifications he was informing me, this delicate machine (large capacity, supposed high power) requires.

All of this to say, LG does not stand behind their product, the parts are sub quality and the massive recall on this machine only served to put a band-aid on a major problem. The machines should have been replaced and the customer should have been satisfied, instead of spending $850 on a machine that has lasted a total of 3 years. Do not buy LG, unless you have money to burn.

I purchased all brand new LG appliances when we bought a new (to us) home four years ago. In the past four years I have replaced the washer door 3 times due to cracked Lexan plastic washer door covers. I just noticed the dryer door is cracking. These cracks originate at the pull open handle and increase in length until the Lexan comes apart in one's hand. I have emailed LG US customer support several time and they simply tell me to call a service provider. Suffice to say I will not be buying anything else from LG.

DO NOT, DO NOT ever buy an LG washing machine as ours is two years old and I have to spin dry one towel at the time while the rest of the wet towels are in the sink waiting. LG executive, Tyree, told me they would send a service person which they never did, however. Lowe's, where we bought the machine has given us an appointment with an LG technician. This machine was $650 and has never worked correctly and this is LG's second service in a year.

When the warranty runs out in 3 years, I will get rid of this piece of junk and buy a cheap washer and hope to keep it like I did my last one that lasted 25 years. LG does not need to be in the business of washing machine and whoever designed them needs to be fired and they need to give all of us a replacement. I'll never buy anything by LG as our new $750 TV would stop working from time to time and my son in law took off the back and tightened all the leads and it works fine, now. Now, why would you sell a tv with loose leads? LG is a worthless company!!!

Model WT1101CW - I was so excited when I bought our LG top loading HE washer in July 2014. I was impressed w/ the features and the fact that it was SUPPOSED to have TRUE BALANCE. What a bunch of crock! Everything was wonderful for the first year and half and then we started getting the UE error message for unbalanced loads on the spin cycle. This problem got progressively worse as time went on no matter how many times I redistributed the clothes, meticulously sorted clothes so that I only washed towels or heavy things at a time.

Now I can't even get one load done in a day, b/c it keeps adding water to REBALANCE the load, or I have to stand over it to watch it spin and turn it off so it won't add more water or, constantly monitor the weight of the wet clothes, or have to run my dryer for hours to get the clothes dry b/c the clothes never fully went through a whole spin cycle and were still very wet. This machine has actually used more water, and electricity with the all day washing or extra drying.

Every problem expressed by previous reviews is on point. I can't believe that I had to call customer service after ONLY 2 1/2 years of owning this appliance. PATHETIC. And customer service was joke quoting me $280-$340 for a tech to come out, after the REMOTE DIAGNOSTIC didn't DIAGNOSE the problem. This was a selling feature by the way, but required me to call during certain hours and press certain buttons. So I will NEVER buy another LG product again, and also think that I am going back to regular Agitator washing machines. This machine is NOT energy efficient, does NOT balance your clothes, and does NOT save water. All hype and NO substance!!

My old washing machine gave out and I invested in what I thought was going to be a good washer. I decided to splurge a bit in order to get a "good" washer. I purchased from a 3rd party (JCPenney) so it took 4 weeks plus an additional 2 weeks because it was on back order. So for 6 weeks I was going to the laundromat. I took the day off work to be available for delivery. The delivery guys dropped it off, hooked it up and checked it and it was working. I did my first load of laundry and it would not complete a load. It gave me an error message. All day long I tried different ways around it and nothing. My husband changed the water hoses since it said it was the water pressure and nothing. We called LG that evening and basically was told because it was the water pressure in our home that they would not send a repairman. Our house is very new and our old washer worked fine water pressure wise. We told them to just take it back then and they agreed.

Very long story short they would tell us they would take it back and or send a repairman and nothing would happen. We would call back and same promises and nothing. JCPenney has called them various times to have them send someone to repair and they refuse. Now it's 2 weeks out and we, JCPenney and even the delivery people have called various times to get it repaired or returned and they refuse. It's insane we're having to go through this kind of trouble when it's brand new out of the box and we bought warranties on it. I'm extremely disappointed in the way LG is handling this situation and I will never buy another LG appliance in my life nor will I recommend to anyone that they do either. They have lost a good customer because we are loyal to brands that are good to us. I wish they would just take this dang washer, refund us and we could just get a different brand. Never again will I make the mistake of buying LG.

This review of LG washers is more a review of LG customer service and a warning to prospective customers. I have owned my LG washer for about three years now. It has True Balance, a feature that consumes water in an attempt to balance the load. The washer is absolutely level. However it rarely completes a load because True Balance is unable to get the load balanced enough to get through the spin cycle. So I have to turn the water off. Balance it by hand. Then maybe it will get through the cycle. Often the items are too soaked to put in the 30-year old Kenmore dryer. So I have to hang them.

My water bill has increased 25% since getting the washer. Have complained to LG. Initially they told me to level the washer. Now they just ignore me. Apparently because I (a person who has tested at a mechanical level in the upper 2% of the population) am unable to level a washer. I was however able to rebuild the Kenmore Dryer twice to keep that running. That's not a recommendation of Kenmore because Kenmore isn't Kenmore anymore.

My old LG front loader died after 10+ years and since we had a good experience with their washers we went with another. That was the biggest mistake ever! We have a very large family and laundry can get behind fast. It takes a half a day sometimes to wash 1 load of laundry due to the UE code and our inability to get it to balance. I'm way behind now and have had to resort going to the laundromat. After thinking about it, with the money we spent at the laundromat, I could have bought a better washer. If I could give it no stars I would. Never again and after reading some of the other reviews I may never buy another LG product. There is obviously no reason to contact the company either after reading reviews though I have sent an email to complain about this washer. The only thing it is good for is scrap metal.

The first time we tried to wash a load of clothes, it flooded our washroom. When it entered it spin cycle, it jumped around on the floor and hit the dryer. We contacted Home Depot (where we purchased it along with matching dryer and extended warranties). They immediately started putting us off on a repair shop, LG, and had the delivery company insurance take responsibility for the flooding. The repair shop is so busy that we were not able to get an appointment for 3 weeks. They have tried to repair this washer four times UNSUCCESSFULLY. Each time it takes two to three weeks for the next service appointment.

LG does not want to bear any responsibility for producing a faulty, dangerous washer. Each time we try to speak with them they never return calls or put us off on Home Depot, who put us off on them and the Repair company. This is a new Washer that has never washed a load of clothes with an extended warranty. This has been the worst customer service experience we have ever had and the fact that it has come from two major Companies (LG and Home Depot) is really surprising. When I filed my recall claim LG had all my customer information, including my purchase price and old maiden name, but refused to process my recall until I could provide my own receipt. I went through days of searching and calling Home Depot and complained three times to call representatives that it's unfair I have to jump through all these hoops when they already know the selling price to reimburse me for. They stated "You have to reconfirm the price and prove that's what we owe you."

I've been without a washer for three weeks now and am out a hundred dollars in laundry costs. As well as $300 in lost clothes when the washing machine blew up and caught on fire inside. LG refuses to acknowledge these costs and the time I've spent toting laundry all over. The nearest laundromat is 20 miles from my house. Simply refunding me my purchase price is a slap in the face after all I've been through because of this machine literally blowing up and catching fire inside. In spite of trying various settings, and contacting the manufacturer, clothes just don't get clean, and even today, linens that I took out had more stains on them than when they went in. The clothes don't agitate, and even if you use a setting that adds more water, the clothes just don't move around.

They come out in the same position as when you loaded the machine. Forget using a water-saving setting - the clothes are barely damp. The machine will go off balance if there is anything, even one item, that is of a different weight. It resets itself endlessly. I miss my old Maytag and can't wait for a reason to get rid of the LG Washer. The drier is also a problem, but I guess I can live with wrinkled clothes more than I can with dirty ones. Purchased this machine in 2010 for over $800. I was told it was fabulous. It was - for a few months. But then we noticed that our clothes were no longer smelling clean. In fact they come out smelling worse than when they went in dirty. There is just nothing that can prepare you for getting out of the shower, grabbing a "clean" towel and experiencing a smell so sour and disgusting, that you feel as though you need to shower again.

They told us that we need to "maintain" our machine every month. What??? Is this a joke? The "energy efficient" "uses less water" machine they bragged about - we are now being told we should run 1 to 3 cleaning cycles, with special, expensive chemicals, EVERY month. EVERY MONTH for the life of the machine. I must do this in order to have clean laundry. Am I the only person who finds this absolutely insane??? I now have to take more effort and money every month to maintain my machine, then it actually took to do my laundry with my old machine.

If doing my laundry with an LG washer is going to take this much effort... I might as well drag my laundry down to the creek and scrub it on some rocks. That would actually be quicker and more cost effective and, work better!!! I have called customer service (a bunch of foreign speaking people) numerous times. This last time was the last straw. They do not care for your opinion. They speak to you as though you are the problem. When I explained to the guy that the entire area around my bleach cup has completely rusted - guess what - that's right - it is my fault, and no one else on the planet has had this problem.

I called knowing that my warranty is long gone but I told him I just wanted to give them feedback from a consumer about how I felt about their product. But, as you already know he doesn't care. He kept telling me to wash out my machine, and that I don't understand how to maintain my machine. I guess judging from the 100's of 1- star reviews, and similar complaints no one else on Earth knows how to do that either.

So here is the bottom line. I own a business cleaning resort units. I have dealt with every machine known to man. I have only ever seen one other machine as junkie as this. I will NEVER buy another LG washer. I will go back to old school, agitator... where my clothes are actually coming out clean, and I never, ever, ever had to wash my machine to keep my laundry coming out the way it is suppose to. Besides all the cabinet parts and pieces rusting, it appears that most, if not all the internal screws, nuts, and washer holding it together are also severely rusted and especially concerning, the arms that the tub hang on are well rusted and three of four mounting washers for these arms (they support the wash tub, liner, and motor) are so severely rusted that I expect the supports to fail any day. As such, I still have to stop the cycle mid-way, untangle then fluff the sheets and restart the cycle! With my OLD top loading basic Whirlpool machine, I never had this problem. As for LG Washing Machine (2233H), after about a year, I developed serious and long-standing sinus issues but never thought of my washing machine being the source of the problem, until it began to smell funky and I did some online research. I found that this machine and other front loaders have issues with mold; however, I thought I was exempt from this since I always a) always keep the door open; b) frequently run the 'tub clean' option' and c) regularly clean the rubber rim!

One day, I was reading an article about children, who had been admitted to the same hospital and later died; it was proven that these already ill children were given linens with mold spores on them. With already comprised immune systems, the mold spores entered these children's sinus cavity then attacked their brains and, in turn, killed them! The laundry facility that was used by the hospital was found to have a mold problem!! So, I became more diligent with my washing machine. I took bleach and vinegar and tried to clean not just the rubber rim but further inside.

Tonight, I was also fed up with the fact that bleach and softener never dispense. So, I went online and found an article stating that this part might be 'clogged' and to take the dispenser drawer out then clean it. To my surprise, I found BLACK MOLD on the underside of the drawer as well as in the machine opening [where the drawer fits into]. It is so ingrained into the top underside of the opening that I can't get it off. I am now more alarmed about health issues that this washing machine Black Mold problem has been causing and might still be causing. So, I went online again and find that LG and other front load manufacturers have just settled class-action suits for this issue but not admitted any fault!!!!

LG never sent any notice to me and the deadline has just expired. Furthermore, the settlement to each machine owner is pathetic, especially, considering 1) initial cost of these machines and 2) replacement cost for a new machine [as you will never get rid of the black mold throughout the existing machine]. Government needs to protect consumers from big corporations abuse since attorneys of class actions are the only ones who benefit.

For this specific issue, people need to contact their local politicians to work on behalf of their constituents to get 'lemon laws' passed in respect to these defective machines, which manufacturers continued to produce and sell with full knowledge of the serious potential and probable health risks to consumers [adults, seniors, children] due to exposure to common black mold formation. Manufacturers of machine models found to have black mold should be mandated to replace each of these machines with top loaders of the consumer choice.

My late husband thought he was treating me to a beautiful machine. It has been nothing but trouble since day one. Water twice all over floor ruining carpets, unbalanced loads, shaking when spinning. It is mainly the water dumping that is getting to me. I was running Tub Clean with a semi-bleach product recommended for HE machines, and I heard drip drip drip once again. Shut machine off and have to pay for a same day visit as same day is not covered by service contract. I was told last time by someone from LG, "It's a 2 year old machine". Really? I had another make for 30 years in NY and it never did anything like this! And it's always the LG hoses that fail! Nothing I am doing. Wish I had ordered a different brand!

I purchased this washer about 2.5 years ago and my frustration with it began shortly after I started using it due to its poor performance. It is frequently "off balance". Even if it only has water and no clothes it will work for a minute or two then stop indicating it's "off balance". Washing clothes is an all day affair at times and I wash clothes by hand sometimes to avoid using this hated washer. When it becomes "off balance" it will drain the water out and refill again and again so any savings on low water usage are non-existent. I started a load at 6:00 am this morning and it should have taken 57 minutes. (It is now 7:45.) After my having to adjust the clothes in the barrel several times the machine tells me it needs 30 more minutes to complete which with my experience could actually mean multiple more imbalances and more time.... I truly HATE this washer and would encourage anyone to NEVER buy it.

I purchased my LG washing machine 1 1/2 years ago. It is a model WT1101CW. It is constantly saying it's unbalanced and has rattled my bathroom floor apart. The tiles are now badly cracked. Not only that, but in the last several months it has developed an issue where it can't run for more than a minute or two at a time without giving me the UE (unbalanced) error code. I called the LG recall line after seeing that some similar LG machines have been recalled for the same issues, but was told that based on my machine's serial number, my machine isn't one of those recalled. I was then transferred to customer service who again told me to make sure that the machine is level. The machine is perfectly level. I have cleaned the tub often, and also tried unplugging it and pressing start and pause as LG's customer service department has also suggested.

I was also told by their customer service department that I could try adding a cycle option such as "add fabric softener" to increase the amount of water in the tub. Since it only has water in it during the "tub clean" cycle when it also gives an unbalance signal every few minutes, this isn't going to help. It also defeats the purpose of the machine being energy efficient. Today I have spent 9 1/2 hours so far doing a tub clean with just vinegar as they suggested. Every minute or two it gives me the unbalance error code and I have had to restart it. It still has water in it and hasn't finished. It is now 8:30 pm and I started it at 9 am this morning.

I just called LG's customer service department for the 6th time in the last few days and was told that since my 1 1/2 year old machine is out of warranty, it will cost a minimum of $299 for a service call! When I objected to the exorbitant price, the representative offered to let me pay with "three easy payments". I can buy a new machine for not much more than that. I am 60 years old and have to say that this is the WORST washing machine I have ever owned, and the WORST customer service I have ever received. Also, I believe this model machine needs to be recalled as well. There is definitely an issue with it, and I see from the other complaints on here that I am not the only one having problems with this model. WORST PRODUCT AND WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!!!

That's ONLY if you monitor it getting unbalanced or shutting off completely. It mostly gets unbalanced at 34 minutes remaining and at 11 minutes remaining.

Unless you use the bulky setting, you get next to NO water in the tub. And the very WORST PART is that it has RUINED countless shirts, pants, and shorts. It will put dark, short streaks (stains) ON YOUR CLOTHES THAT YOU CANNOT GET OUT. We have washed the Maxine-stained items up to six times using a wide variety of stain removers and NOTHING works. We bought a LG washer (top loading.) and dryer set at Best Buy, 20 June 2016. They looked like quality products, but we were very mistaken. The washer spends a lot of time load sensing, almost as much as washing. A lot of clicking going on, and the tub jiggles back and forth for a few minutes before the washing cycle starts. Even with "Extra Water," selected, it is barely enough to get the clothes thoroughly wet in the wash cycle. The clothes in the very middle of the tub never hardly move during the agitation, so they do not really get washed good. Then during this last week the washer goes from wash cycle to spin cycle. It forgets the rinse cycle. Also, we can only get hot water, never warm. For some reason the warm setting is always cold. It also takes a long time just to wash a load of clothes. The dryer will not dry our clothes completely, but we work around that problem, and we shouldn't have to.

We had a Kenmore washer and dryer set for thirteen years, and never had many problems. I worked as a product designer for many years, and our company had strict rules for testing and designing before any new product was introduced to the market. I can hardly believe that LG is putting these defective new products out to the marketplace. Anyway, we are disgusted, and learned a very expensive lesson.

Sometimes it gets to the last 6 minutes of the cycle then it goes back to 14 minutes and starts refilling the drum nearly to full capacity of water. Not only does this machine waste water, it also wastes electricity by repeating the cycles with the UE (uneven load) code. LG should be investigated for labeling this machine as energy efficient. LG WT1101CW Washing Machine. Don't Buy LG. Warranty Not Honored. I purchased an LG top loading washing machine a year and a half ago after my twenty-year-old Maytag machine made of steel with a solid lid that finally needed to be replaced. Within months of buying this machine, the plastic around the hinges of the lid began to crack and started to crumble at the hinges. The plastic is not holding up to the opening and closing of the lid on my unit. I had the lid and hinges replaced four times for the same problem. Once the plastic around the hinges starts to crack and disintegrate, the lid cannot close, and you cannot use the machine at all.

Customer service assured me after the fourth repair for the same problem that the unit would be replaced as defective. The plastic on the new lid after 5 months is starting to crack again, so I called and found out that my case was directed to the "Defective Return Team" and they rejected the claim. They told me it has been over a year since the purchase and it is now out of warranty.

I have been repairing this brand new machine within a few months of purchasing it. Home Depot says it's out of their hands, it's up to LG but LG has not adhered to their own policy that after three visits to repair the same problem, it is considered unrepairable and is considered to be a defective machine and will be replaced. They will now send a technician out for a fifth time for the same repair. It's not fixing the problem! The lid keeps cracking around the hinges on both sides. Poor quality, poor workmanship, cheap materials and they will not replace the machine, and now that it is out of warranty, they may not replace the lid when it cracks again and I will have a machine I cannot use that I paid almost $700 for. After experiencing this, I will never buy another LG product again.

That 10 year warranty sticker is such a gimmick since these won't make it past 5 years with the crazy rust buildup. We bought an LG washer and dryer in March of 2014 from Lowe's. Fortunate for us, we bought the extended warranty. In that time until now both machines have been serviced by at least 5 different visits. The washer is the main culprit. It will not complete an entire wash cycle without errors or not washing them at all. The technicians who come and repair them stated these machines are the worst to repair. They really could not find a certain problem but continue to throw parts at them.

The dryer would not heat or dry clothes but seems to be doing better for now. The washer decided to give us a new code last night when it it began to quit yet again, "OE." Reading online this is an error with pump malfunction, kinked drain tube or filter. Now after checking tube and drain, neither is clogged, but now the washer will not drain and has foul smelling water in it. At this point we are done with these machines.

We are going to look for a new washer today, preferably with manual controls. We will keep the dryer until it breaks again, which is likely. These machines being a little over two years old should not be breaking down so often. I will not buy another, ever again, and warning others to do the same. The warranty is almost up and rather having to sit around all day on the appointment day waiting for a technician arrive, we will just take the loss and get another washer. The repair guy says the bearings need to be replaced and with all the parts and labor it is not worth it!

We have had this machine for almost two years, but being very busy in our lives have never actually watched the machine go through a full wash cycle, until I did it just recently. I put an average load of clothes in it and started a "normal" cycle. A little later I looked in to see that the clothes were only about half-immersed in water during the "wash". Clearly, this was not good. I see that many people online have complained about this same problem. I find that the washer will only truly fill if the "Bulky/bedding" cycle is selected. Otherwise it simply will not put sufficient water in the tub for a proper wash. My fix to "fool" the machine is: start the load on "Bulky", wait till it fills to the desired level, pause, change to "normal" and proceed. This will not make the rinse cycle fill up, but if you happen to catch it you can do the same for rinse. Sort of makes a joke of this "high-tech automatic machine" doesn't it?

You have to rearrange the clothes during cycle no matter if it's a larger load or small load. Now the entire centerpiece comes loose and clothes get trapped underneath it or it stops working mid cycle have to then take everything out, put the piece back and reload! Takes hours and hours to do two loads!

I have had to have a repairman out twice and the long and short of it is the transmission & electric board went at the tune of $533.00 for parts and labor. Um I paid $629 for the machine new. I called LG several times. The 1st few times they said there was nothing they could do. Wrong answer! So I called a 3rd time & they offered me an "extended warranty" on parts and labor for 1 year for that repair for $385.00. So they would charge me more than half of what I paid for it??? No thanks. There is no telling what else will go wrong with it.

It's a ripoff when you pay over $600 for a washing machine and it doesn't even LAST 4 YEARS. I read numerous complaints about LG like mine and worse. If we quit buying these lemons they will either have to make a better product or go out of business. Gotta go time to get on Consumer Reports and fork more $$ for a new one. Let's just hope it will last at least 5 years.

LG washing machine WT4870CW. What a piece of junk this machine is, $727.99 and less than two years old. This machine sometimes has a smell to it, take forever to do a load of wash and puts pulls in my clothing and now it leaks water out over the tub. (A computer problem with the amount of water being put into the machine.) When I originally took it apart to check where the water was coming from I was shocked at how cheap it was built. They advertise stainless steel DRUM but they don't tell you is the outside tub which holds the water is plastic, look like a big water cooler jug, you can see right thru it. They also make a big deal out of the ten year warranty on the direct drive motor because they know the machine won't last that long.

Called customer service for help with my problem, what a joke, had some guy with an accent reading from a book and so much noise in the background I could hardly hear him. He gave me the number for the local repair place in my area and told me I would have to pay for labor but the parts were free. I called them and nothing was free and they didn't even like working on them because they have problems getting parts, most times they have to order them for Korea and they take a very long time to get. In fact the company who repairs them doesn't even sell them because they have so many problems. (They don't like Samsung either, both made in the same country.)

I decided I wasn't putting more good money into a bad product so I'm just going to take my loss. I bought a new Speed Queen with an agitator and all manual controls, I don't need a computer operated washing machine, I have ten good fingers and can turn three dials, and hit one switch. (Top rated machine on the market, fewest repairs.) I will never buy anything made by LG again, I'm keeping my paper work on the old machine in case they ever have a class action suit against them. I hope everyone who has problems with this machine tells all their friends to stay away from LG.

I just finished ironing a top which I have had for well over a decade, used to just remove it, nice and clean, from my beloved Kenmore front loader, and hang it up. This was the case with all my clothes. I purchased my machine at The Brick, had to leave the country for a few months, and when I returned it was too late to have the unit replaced. The machine just keeps wasting water - when it attempts to balance - all the way to the top and then pumps it down the drain and wastes our limited California water. You should do your job and force them to offer a software upgrade online. The machine have the modem cell phone link and customers could upgrade this dumb wasteful software without some LG moron coming out to tell lies and you what you already know. Force them to open the source code and let someone savvy fix the software - other than LG. They should be fined for the water wasting in a drought. This washer was purchased in late 2013. Within the first year I was experiencing issues with codes like LE and UE and complete freezes of the control panel. The washer would stop in an unknown cycle at that time and basically force you to rewash the clothes. Calling LG support was no help at that time and I simply lived with it until recently when I was constantly getting unbalanced load errors uE, UE. It got to where I could not complete a cycle at all. I had to go into special mode and try to spin the clothes which was in the end impossible. I called LG several times over the years with nothing ever coming of it. Finally in late August 2016, I was forced to purchase a service contract for $275 just to get one of their certified technicians to come look at the washer.

The first tech replaced a part on the bottom of the washer that contained lots of magnets. Sorry I don't remember the part name. This seemed like it made it worst. A second technician arrived several days later and called an engineer in Alabama to diagnose the problem and they immediately decided it was in need of a software update or circuit board change. They opted for the board change because the tech told the engineer he did not have the capabilities of the software update so he would order a board. He basically told me he lied to the engineer to force them to change the board. I suppose it was to my benefit to rule out the board being bad if the software update didn't fix it. I'll never know if the software update would have fixed it. The board arrived the next day and 4 days later he replaced it and now the machine is working fine.

My problem with this is they should have suspected the board or software from the first phone call I made. Clearly there is a known issue with this machine and the software. They forced me to purchase a service contract I should not have had to purchase. I have read of many instances of the same problem with this machine. I tried and failed to get them to refund my money.

First LG purchase was in Nov. 2009 with a convection oven/stove and dishwasher. Bought them at hhgregg and purchased the extended warranty. Moved out of that home in May 2010 and left the appliances there as I had planned on renting out that home. The end of May (for my new place) I purchased an LG front loader washer and dryer (Home Depot with extended 5 yr warranty) because it seemed like LG was a good brand from all the reviews I had read. Got renters in the next month for my old house and they were in there about a year. We left the house empty with someone checking on it every couple days for a year and a half. We moved back in Dec. 2012. We moved out again in March of 2014 to a larger home but took the stove with us.

The dishwasher started having issues in July of 2014 for our new tenants. Our extended warranty covered it and the repairs ended up costing more than it was to buy a new one so it was completely replaced by the warranty. All in all, the dishwasher was used for about 3 of those 5 years before needing replacement. In December 2014 my dryer won't power on at all and I have to call Home Depot for the repair. They tell me it's the motherboard and it gets replaced. This ends up being about a $200+ repair covered by the warranty.

That same month, my LG oven won't heat up. The display says it's 350 but I can easily touch the racks, and food is not cooking. My stove is no longer under warranty so the expense is on me. I call a repair guy out who tells me it's one of the heating elements. $125 later everything seemed fine until 8 months later when now my washing machine won't drain and my stove has another issue. Neither are under warranty. The washing machine needs a new pump at about $200. My stove's motherboard gets replaced at about $200.

Fast forward to April 2016. Stove not heating up again. Had appliance guy out who tried telling me we don't have enough electricity coming into our house after charging me $200 for some electrical part he said was bad and it didn't solve the problem. I called electric company who checked everything and house had plenty of juice. Got part of my money back from the appliance guy since he misdiagnosed the stove and cost me more money. Husband replaced the second heating element (there's two in this particular model) and everything seemed fine until August of this year.

Washing machine is giving pump failure message again, dryer's display is not working right (can't see how many minutes left -- digital display unreadable), and the stove went out again. Stove was approx 5 years old before we started replacing part after part. Washer and dryer were 5 years old before we started having issues. I have an LG fridge and dishwasher (purchased Dec. 2014), but I think these will be my last appliance purchases from LG. 3 appliances getting replaced is ridiculous in one month. Quality is just not important anymore to these companies. I don't expect them to last forever, but 7-8 years would have been nice. Will not purchase another LG appliance.

For four years I operated my LG Top-Loading Washer, Model #WT4801CW, using only HE detergent, managing the size of loads, etc. It worked well. However, over the years the bleach dispenser clogged, a two-inch crack developed in the top of the washer's casing, and then in mid-cycle, the wash plate and cap popped off - bouncing around inside of the barrel and failing to agitate. Of course, LG offered the extended coverage (using another company, I later found). I could either spend close to $300 and receive two months of coverage or for almost double that amount, receive a full year's coverage. I elected to buy the two month's policy.

After about a week, a tech from a local repair company came out, evaluated my machine, and sent them a report, including pictures of the damage. This seemed correct and the tech was personable. However, after another week, I called to find the status of my repair. They told me that I had to call LG. Of course, after extended conversations with a number of customer service reps, I was finally passed to LG's sub-contractor who actually administers this coverage. They, based upon the report of the visiting tech, determined that I had abused my LG Top-Loading Washing Machine and they had cancelled my policy. How, I asked, did they determine that I was as fault and abusive for the wash plate and cap popping off and bouncing around in the machine in mid-cycle?

In short, nothing that I could say made any difference. They had made a partial refund of my coverage amount, and therefore the case was closed. So here I sit, fuming that there is nothing that I can do to refute this action and LG Customer Service refuses to take any action either because the coverage is with their sub-contractor. I'm out $100, now branded as a WASHING MACHINE ABUSER, and no closer to a repaired machine than before. I highly recommend that you refuse any extended coverage based upon my experience. Otherwise, "I TOLD YOU SO." Let the buyer be aware.

I had an awesome experience with LG customer service! My Washer WM0642HW that I bought 7 years ago started with a big noise and doesn't spin. I called to LG Cust. Serv. and then they sent a LG technician to check my washer and he found the problem. The rotor was damaged and due to the Motor was under 10 years warranty this professional guy replace the part and I don't pay nothing! The service was on time and very professional. I have a lot of LG products - VCR, DVD, TV's, washer and dryer too. Don't complains! I love LG Products.

Upon contacting an LG supervisor, her response was a weak sorry. I would strongly urge anyone considering the purchase of a washing machine to never buy a LG washer. The LG machine is unreliable and LG service was hollow.

The specifications on my LG washer state it will pump up to 96 inches high. It does not, and leaves water in the bottom of the tub. It is a LG WM3575 CW, Serial #: 602PNGX2H359, purchased on May 6 2016. It was delivered, installed on May 9 2016. The washer has not drained properly since. I emailed LG on June 2, 2016 about my complaint. I received no response. I submitted an email again on June 7th. I still did not receive a response. After several phone calls, a technician was scheduled to come out on June 17th. He took photos and determined the product was not working as designed from day one and was installed properly. His recommendation was a pedestal or add a check valve to the drain pipe.

I contacted LG everyday the following week. Each time I was told I would get a return call. After several calls, it was determined that the photos taken by the technician never made it to the office. I had to take my own photos, and email on June 30th. Now they are saying maybe the extra bend in the hose is the problem. The hose has to bend to go up and it has to bend to turn down into the drain. That is normal and is exactly what the pictures look like on the install diagrams.

On August 4th I had another technician inspect the washer, and he gave the same diagnosis as the last technician. I have an open case with BBB # **. The case opened in July, and LG has until August 12th. I called customer executive services to give LG an opportunity to provide a resolution. The representative Robert, supervisor # ** assisted me. He provided the best customer service he could. He researched the information and spoke with technicians and supervisors in order to provide a resolution to the satisfy the customer. I suggested LG provide me a pedestal to determine if that would resolve the issue. LG stated they do not manufacture pedestals, so they cannot provide one. What a failure on your part LG. I will not buy LG again!

For the first three years, I was quite happy with the LG washer and dryer. Not quite at the four year mark and the washer needs serious service (Luckily I bought the extended warranty because LG only offers a 1 year warranty - do they know something the consumer doesn't??). The repair man came out yesterday (had to take the day off as they only work until 4:00) and he found that the repair is quite serious and needs a number of new parts. He said it is a "two-man" job and they will come back in two weeks as the parts will take a while to be ordered!!! I requested a reimbursement for having to go to the laundromat, but Geek Squad discontinued that part of the extended warranty in 2014! LG doesn't offer it at all - again, do they know something the consumer doesn't. In any event, I will NEVER AGAIN BUY AN LG PRODUCT!!!

Purchased a Front Load washer less than 3 years ago and it will not power on. Paid an electrician to come and verify that the outlet was getting power even though the same outlet powered other devices (I'm thorough). Unplugged the device for a while then plugged it back in. It powered on then went right back off. Called LG support and she had me spin the drum, trip the breaker again, unplug it then plug it back up. Asked if it was purchased over a year ago and when I said yes I was pushed off to a retailer that supports their product at my own expense of course. I told her that it's sad that others are having issues with the washers and that you pawn them off once the year warranty is up. The high reviews that are online need to removed or at least state the constant issues with the machine. Spending over $1000 on a washer that doesn't perform up to par and becomes useless in 2-3 years should have some type of recall for manufacturing defects!

The washer on the other hand I cannot stand. My clothes come out dirtier at times then when they go in at times staining clothes, clothes DO NOT come out clearly not clean. White I have to over bleach and sometimes wrecking the clothes and put them on extra long soaking cycle. I cannot express how much I hate this washer. I would rather go to the laundromat except for the convenience. I wish I would of read the reviews before purchasing. I'm glad to see I'm not the only one with the same problem - I was beginning to think It was me.

When I complained to my husband he just looked at me like I was out of my mind. I washed my bedding this week and put the (clean) or was suppose to be clean back on the bed I pointed how disgusting sheets looked worse than before they were washed. We purchased the LG Inverter Direct Washing Machine in June 2015. At first, it worked fine, but in the last few months, I had started to notice nips or bites out of some clothes right out of the washer. One day I found clothing caught in the seam of the drum, at the rear of the machine. I presume that is where the damage to clothes happens. I recently also noticed a few T-shirts with BIG rips. We were just past our normal one year warranty but had purchased extended warranty. After the technician looked at the machine, LG told us we were only eligible for a repair but the technician who called me afterwards told me he couldn't promise that the repair would fix the problem. I have decided to throw out the machine rather than risk any more clothing being ruined and I told LG I WILL NEVER BUY AN LG PRODUCT AGAIN. This is the second LG major appliance that has let me down!

My problem with this machine, is that I've never seen a wash machine take so long to wash a load of clothes! If I use the "Speedwash" feature, which is supposed to be a 35-minute cycle, it will take nearly two hours to wash the clothes. Loads that I know should take longer, like extended soak cycles, stain removal cycles, extra rinse or extended spin cycles, extend the wash cycles into hours and hours. I'm dissatisfied with this purchase and I have seen so many complaints that I know I won't get the matter resolved to my satisfaction. I remember when this company went under the brand of GoldStar. I didn't like the look of their appliances back then and they were known as cheap. They must have found a company to re-market and re-brand them, with great looking outside features, but the same crappy inside components.

Well this is the third time a service person has been out. When I called about the UE the first time I was told it was out of balance. I assured the person that it was doing this even with only 3 pieces of clothing in the machine and that the machine was balanced and checked with a level. So they send someone out to look at it and say it needs a computer part. Great parts ordered and problem solved. Wrong!!! Needless to say not very long after we end up having an issue that the UE goes on then the machine starts to go back to 20 minutes when there was only 5 minutes left. It does this 6 times and 2 hours later still messing with it, I call for service again. Well, again we need another part.

Now a few months later, which brings us to this month July 2016 we have UE and the washer is now turning its lights on like it is going to start up without having any laundry in it and nobody being in the room. If it does successfully get a load done it will not turn the lights off. Service out again and another order for more parts. Gee, you would think LG would want to keep up good business practices and recall the washers. If a business backs its mistakes, it makes you want to purchase their brand again but if they don't then you run far away and tell anyone that will listen. My electric is sky high to begin with because it is Toledo Edison and now with the washer issues it is even worse. Nobody should have to wait 2 hours on a quick wash. I personally will not buy LG anymore and will make sure to tell people when I see them in stores shopping for washers to find another brand.

This is a beautiful, very large washer. Had great reviews and ratings in consumer magazines, etc. For 10 months or so it functioned well, handling large quantities of laundry, including towels and bedding. Then nearing the 1 year mark, the UE symbol, meaning it can't spin out the water from your clothing was a regular occurrence. I was told to use the "tub clean cycle". It may have helped it balance for a few uneventful loads. But it was short lived. If you like standing over the top of a washer watching to see if it will spin, etc., but seeing it add 20 or more minutes over and over, then this is the one for you. A big disappointment.

Updated on 1/23/2017: Whenever I have called LG about the frequent (Out of balance) issue they always say run the tub clean cycle, which I suppose tries to re-balance or reset without any clothes in it. It even get off balance empty!! Why does this washer get such good reviews in consumer reports, etc.

The washer has three issues; one, it does not get the clothes clean; two, if you run a load with bleach you have to run an empty load to clean all of the bleach out; three, after every wash you must wipe the door ring out to prevent any odor. The dryer has two issues; one, it does not dry clothes well; two, More lint goes outside than the lint screen catches (we had representative over to look at it and he stated that this is just the way it is with the new dryers). The Customer support responses treat us like children when we get a response. Bottom line, we despise the units and do not recommend to any of our friends.

We bought an LG washer and dryer set in November of 2010. The washing machine has had a foul odor since about a year or so after we bought it. We leave the door open, dry the gaskets, etc. It doesn't work, it still stinks! There is always water in the soap/softener dispensers and at the way back of them when I pull them out weekly to clean, they are moldy, yes, moldy dark black, slimy mold. For about a year we had been wondering why our clothes had these weird stains appearing and we pinpointed it to our washer about 6-7 months ago.

Randomly, a load of clothes will come out with either gray grease-looking spots on them or brownish spots (looks like someone threw a Pepsi in the machine). The stains will not come out of the clothes no matter what we try. I don't even know where to begin with the amount of money that has been wasted on ruined clothes in this machine. We have done the affresh washing machine cleaner, just running the tub clean cycle that is on the machine itself and just tried running the machine through regular cycles with and without any soap. Nothing works! I have gone 'round and 'round with LG customer support and also a corporate supervisor today which all they say is "try this, try that, we can get you in touch with a technician in your area" at my expense of course!

I just can't believe that the washing machine cost over $1000.00 when we purchased it and this is the thanks we get when we try to have LG help us. They don't care what we think or have to say and I brought up the point that I am one of millions of people with these problems (as they have had lawsuits over this) and I just want to come to a fair agreement for both myself and them and they just don't even care. Honestly, I felt like all they cared about was getting me off of the phone. They couldn't even so much as offer me a discount on a new washer or to pay a portion of the service on the machine to get it cleaned because they keep saying it just needs to be cleaned between the drums and that would be something a serviceman would have to complete, you wouldn't be able to do it on your own, etc.

Don't make the same mistake that we did, never buy an LG FRONT LOAD WASHER! Go online, google their reviews and the lawsuits that they've been a part of. Plus, the customer service reviews are terrible (which I have realized myself in the past two weeks when I have contacted them)! Go with a company built on service and value, not LG who has neither of these qualities!!

I bought an LG front-loading washing machine. Within 2 years, the cycle stopped repeatedly in the middle of a wash. An internal part had broken. I had to replace it at cost. The same replacement broke the next year. I replaced it at cost. That same replacement broke. Same story. I asked myself if it was part of LG's plan to make faulty parts so the consumer would have to pay every year to replace them.

After 6 years, the programming motherboard broke (don't ask me what it is called -- it manages all the settings on the machine) completely broke down. The wash stopped repeatedly during a cycle so I had to restart again and again and a 30-minute wash would take 2 hours. Many times it never finishing the final spin. LG said the replacement part would be $150.

BUT then they called back and said since the machine is 6 years old, they won't supply the part anymore. They wanted me to buy a new washing machine after 6 years! I told them I would never buy another LG product. Instead I found the part from a third party supplier, and I hope my machine will last another 10 years so I don't have to spend on a completely new machine. My advice: NEVER BUY from LG unless you plan to replace parts every year and replace your entire expensive appliance every 5-6 years. Since they stop supplying parts, you will need a new machine.

Technician calls on the afternoon prior and says he is going to come at 3p-5p because coming between 8a-12p would make all of the other customers wait due to the amount of time it will take to fix my washer. So this becomes my problem?! Then the technician gets angry with me because I called LG to see if they can reschedule and then tells me he is not coming out to fix my washer. This happens in spite of my doing everything I can to keep the tub and door clean: regularly washing the tub using the 'tub-clean' cycle with appropriate cleaners, always leaving the door and dispenser drawer open, draining and cleaning the pump filter (although this always entails water all over my floor since the drain is much too low to put an adequate container underneath to catch all the water)... It got worse and worse over the next year up until the point I would quit washing clothes and my husband would take over where he would use his level and make sure the tub was level so the clothes would spin. My washer is in the basement so he would get missing for awhile and I knew he was waiting on the washer to spin, because if you don't wait the machine would fill up and try to rebalance its load (what is smart about that). I have called the "helpful" customer service only to be told it would cost $90 for a service tech!

My husband would get frustrated and I would take over and so it went! Today for the first time I washed 4 or 5 loads of clothes without 1 error! Actually it has gotten better over the last month. What did I do? I stopped using commercial liquid soap! I found a recipe on Pinterest. My theory is the soap gums up and throws the computer off. The washer keeps tripping GFI which indicates a current leakage problem, that is, a DESIGN PROBLEM. Local techs and LG keep writing this up as an electrical breaker tripping which is a problem of shorting out, or over-amping, not current leakage. GFI breakers are required by electrical code in areas where water is present. The local techs and LG want to "solve" this problem by removing the GFI, thus violating electrical code in order to make their product work. Current leakage design problems don't improve, they get worse over time, further endangering customer safety.

My 9 1/2 month old top of the line LG washer died. It took 12 days for service. I was told a part needed to be ordered before a service visit could be made. Unsure how you can assess a problem without seeing the unit. Service man arrived from Tresco out of Ft Wayne IN. The first thing he did was open up the unit when 4-6 gallons of water flew out and went under my floating floor. Of course he didn't have parts! The final straw was when he complained he had to drive 2 hours to get to my house. Spent countless hours trying to get service and was informed after 3 weeks that the warranty was canceled and they would not honor any repair. Their rationale was I washed a rug in the unit. Worst customer service I have ever received and will never purchase anything LG again. The service is horrible and their warranty isn't worth the paper it is written on!

I have been very unhappy with our front load LG washer. It frequently leaves brown streaks and stains on our clothes and sheets. We can't get these stains out with bleach or other cleaning products even with multiple washes. I'm sure the dollar value of ruined clothes and sheets is more than the washing machine cost! Imagine buying brand new clothes and sheets and they're instantly ruined after one wash!

We've tried cleaning the inside of the washing machine multiple times with varying products. We've also cleaned the soap dispenser and drain pump area. We've spent lots of time trying to fix this, and we still get brown streaky stains on our clothes. It is very difficult to clean the drain pump filter area. It is so low to the ground that you can't get any item below it to collect the stinky water that flows out so it goes all over the floor. Were we supposed to install the washing machine on stilts?! The hose to drain the filter area has never worked. It's also very hard to clean the rubber door seal. We wipe it down after every use. It looks like some brown mildew gets stuck between the rubber seal and metal part of the door but it's impossible to get to. I wish we had our old-school top loader washing machine.

I just bought this washing machine in January 2016 and already having problems with it. Customer service is a nightmare to deal with and when speaking with them on numerous occasions attempting to get this problem fixed I end up speaking with representatives in other countries. I WILL NEVER buy another LG product of any kind. Very disappointed in the fact that I have spent over $600 on a product that doesn't work and LG will not help me in any way. Beware when buying LG products.

I purchased an LG top load washing machine and have been completely unsatisfied since the day I bought it. My clothes suddenly smell. I was told that is because on newer machines the drain is closer to the clothes, if that makes sense. The drain pump has broken twice. It is not a part that is "in stock," so we often have to wait for the part to get it before the machine can be fixed. It also has the off balance problem that many have already mentioned. It is hard to get it balanced. Obviously, this washing machine has a defect with the drain. They should take responsibility and replace it, but are not willing. I would echo what others have said already--do not buy LG.

I purchased our LG smart washer dryer combo from Home Depot 14 months ago. For the first year it worked like a charm. Once it was paid off, the nightmare began. I have called the horrible customer service in the Philippines only to hear a repeated script. I have had my home warranty company come out twice. The only way for me to wash our clothes is to confuse our washer into thinking that the load is large. I put in 2 buckets of water on top of towels. I have ruined so many of my clothes in the twisted rope like fashion that I could cry. It takes me 1.5 hours to wash 2 pairs of jeans and a few shirts.

The dryer is also Lousy Garbage. It over dries and shrinks our clothes, those that make it out alive from the washer never dry at all and are very wrinkled. And then there is the smell... The technicians say this is how they are suppose to work. There is no energy saving in taking all day to do a household of three's laundry. There is nothing smart about these machines... Be smart stay away...

Washer has had several parts replaced because the drum is very loud and shakes and the power button will not work. It's very inconsistent but it is doing it again so I'm waiting for a repairman to come again. Glad I purchased the extended warranty. Would be nice if LG would replace these faulty appliances. The top loading LG Smart Drive was purchased when we moved to a new home. We have had nothing but problems ever since. It becomes unbalanced frequently. When it becomes unbalanced, it adds more water in an attempt to swish the clothes to regain balance. Waste!!! This washer is unbalanced more than it is in balance. Sometimes it takes 2 days to wash a load of clothes. Ridiculous. In addition, I am never able to wash a small load - EVER. A small load in this machine is like a free ticket straight to unbalanced status. On top of this fun, my clothes are frequently knotted and twisted so badly that I have to untangle and untie my clothes prior to putting them in the dryer. I WILL NEVER BUY FROM LG AGAIN! EVER!!!

I purchased LG washer June 2015. After the first couple of washes the detergent dispenser would be filled with water some of the time. Now it happens after every wash. I have to pull out the dispenser every time to dump the water. I called customer service yesterday. I was told to try powder detergent. I was also told that it was normal for water to be in the dispenser. No. It's not normal as it didn't do it the first couple of washes.

I will NEVER buy any LG appliance again. The top-loading HE washer I bought at HHGregg in August of 2012 (Model WT5170HV) has been nothing but a disappointment. LG customer service is terrible! They blame the owner for any problems. Apparently, quality means nothing to them. The area around the bleach dispenser rusted when it was two years old. They did replace the top but when the service tech arrived he just laughed. "I do a lot of this," he said with a smile. "Your new top will do the same thing in a year or two." Gee, what a vote of confidence.

I purchased an extended service plan and I'm glad I did. The washer controls do not work. Two new system boards are on order. The repairman told me that without the warranty it would be an expensive repair. He noticed the rust and told me I needed to call LG and get an APM# so the top can be replaced. Just waiting on the new system boards and taking my laundry to the laundromat. Now, just two years later the rust is back but now it is even worse. The washer is rusting around the bleach dispenser and the entire top of the lid opening.

Rust is falling into the wash. I phoned LG and was told that they only replace the top once. I must be getting water and bleach on the metal and that I should be wiping it every time I complete a wash. I told the customer service advisor that this was impossible since the rust was under the top. I got nowhere with them and was advised I could get it replaced at my expense. Do you want rust on your clothes? Really? Then why does use water and bleach! Is no liquid is ever supposed to touch it? LG told me the rust "is just a cosmetic issue."

After owning this washer a little over three years, it breaks! I cannot use it at all! I paid a large amount of money for this machine thinking I was buying the best "Top of the Line." What a joke! Serviceman told me after he repairs it I will be lucky to get five years; the average lifespan of this washer. The washer displays proudly on the front a "10-year warranty," but it only covers the motor. I will NEVER PURCHASE another LG product. Buyer beware LG. Do yourself a favor. Buy an inexpensive machine without all the bells and whistle. You will be much better off. The service tech offered that advice.

Our old washer keeps on breaking down, so we bought an inverter washing machine from LG for around 305USD. The features are awesome. It calculates how much water is needed based on the weight of clothes that you put in the tub. You can set what kind of wash you want it to do depending on the type of clothes you want to wash (heavy, furry, light, undies, etc). You just put your clothes, turn it on, press a few buttons and wait for it to finish.

If I could travel all 50 states and warn people about this crappy machine I would... Horrible customer service. They also do not come out to repair right away, you have to do various checks on the washer for them to actually come out. They want to know what's wrong or what did you do? Model WT4970CW LG WaveForce "True Balance". Just read several complaints about the LG washing machine. Bought in June 2013 from Best Buy and has consistently had an EU error on more than off. Tried balancing it with a leveler but as soon as it didn't like a load (light loads mostly), it would rattle loudly and move!!! Yes I put up with it for this long but when I went to ConsumerAffairs and saw all the complaints on this model. I called LG who promptly told me it was out of warranty and I could buy a one year warranty for $349.00 or a 60 day warranty for $224.00. After reading the continuing problems after repair, we are going to put this money into a new washer. I'm going back to Maytag. Had it for over 15 years and never a problem!!! I agree LG=lousy garbage. This appliance needs to be taken off the market!!!

My LG washer (WM2140CW) is 8 years old and making a funny noise. I call a few repair services and they stated they can't get parts for LG, I had to deal directly with their network. I found the number for support in my area (Ottawa, ONT) and called. No one answered and I left a message. I did not get a callback so called again, same message service, same no response. After numerous calls I gave up. If a company is going to restrict trade by limiting their replacement parts they better have a good service. LG missed the boat, I will never buy a LG product again, nor should you. Fair disclosure, the washer worked fine for 8 years, it's the support network that is broken.

I purchased a new LG washer WT1201CW and dryer DLEY1201W when we moved to a new home recently. In all my 50 years washing clothes, I have never had such a poorly designed machine. The washer is so deep that I have to half hang inside the machine to reach the clothes at the bottom (I am 5'4). The machine doesn't fill with enough water to sufficiently clean the clothes and I end up with spots and streaks. The dryer also performs poorly, not fluffing the clothes and bunching them so they end up wrinkled. I am very dissatisfied and will never purchase anything from LG again.

Updated on 05/25/2016: I received a reply with only a portion of my complaint answered and the answer was ridiculous. I am posting this to warn others, don't purchase a top loading washer and matching dryer from LG. I am a grandmother and have washed clothes for many years, this is the worst appliances I have ever owned.

During this time prior with followed the manufacturer's instructions to the letter with no improvement. A service technician identified that lack of sufficient water as caused by a malfunction part. A request was submitted for a new part, none received, a request for washer requested. Both were denied by the head office technical team, who indicated it was us the consumer were doing something wrong and would send another service technician to investigate. The end result is a expensive washer that does not work and LG not wanting to honour its warranty. BUYER BEWARE. SUGGEST DIFFERENT COMPANY.

I purchased a LG WT49703W washer at Lowe's in Augusta, GA on 12/31/2014. The machine started to make a strange rattling noise as if rocks were inside the drum. I called LG on 4/8/2016 because it has a 10 year warranty on the drum and rotators. I was given four different repair companies to call. Three of the companies indicated it would be two to three weeks before they could diagnosis the washer. The fourth company indicated they needed an authorization number from LG.

I called LG back and the woman told me that my drum and rotators was not part of the 10 year warranty and therefore I would have to pay for the labor and repairs. I explained that in my manual that LG would honor my warranty if the machine was diagnosis as a drum and rotator issue according to my warranty. She said they would not pay for the repairs only the parts if the machine was repairable. I ask for the number to contact a diagnostician. The woman gave me the number for A & E @888-433-3892. I called but have not been able to get through. Meanwhile I am without a washer, warranty or repair person. What a rip off.

We bought a new front load LG washer from Home Depot in December 2015. It leaked from day 1 from the bottom of the door dripping down the washer to puddle on the floor. 5 months later we are still dealing with the issue. We have had 4 service calls with replacement of the seal, the door, and "tightening the hinges". It still leaks and the foreign speaking folks in customer service just create another service ticket with a new company so they keep stringing us along inconveniencing the homeowner with an all day stay at home, wait for the repairman day so when they leave, I still have a washer that leaks.

This is my first LG product and will be my last. I hope everyone starts to wake up and find another company to purchase from because LG by far is the most despicable company to have to deal with. If I could I would give it a NEGATIVE 5 star review. Very dissatisfied doesn't describe my experience. They truly don't give a darn about the customer!
