My LG washer broke three months ago. I have a service contract but the companies LG hired to repair the washer have done nothing. I can’t even call them. Their mailbox is full. They do not answer or return or leave messages. I have a $1500 steam washer and I’m still going to the Laundromat paying to do my laundry for three months. Next time I’m going back to Maytag.

We had this washing machine for at least 10 years. The only problem that I found with the machine was when we lived in FL there was a problem with it stinking but on the West Coast we haven't had that problem. We have only had it repaired once and my husband was able to do it after watching a video on YouTube.

Updated on 05/18/2020: In a previous post, I reported my washer disaster. A week ago, I heard from LG (Louis) indicating they would provide a new washer in 5-7 days and was asked for proof of purchase etc. I provided that info. Since that time, no contact from LG and they never provided me with contact information. So I sit waiting for them to contact me or reply once again through Consumer Affairs. LG, if you are reading this, please contact me.

Original review: After 7 years of mostly uneventful washing experience, my machine suddenly blew apart. My machine was running through a spin cycle and suddenly, there were loud crashing and banging noises, the machine flew across the floor approximately 2 1/2 - 3 feet and the door blew open. The tub appears to have come loose, smashed into the front and sides of the machine. The front of the machine has large protruding dents, the side handles were blown out and the side dented, and small parts flew out. The door won't even close because of the large protruding dents. Thank goodness that we were not in the laundry room as we would have sustained injuries for sure. I am aghast at the force and danger that this machine caused.

Has been a good product overall. Some of the plastic parts have broken - cheaply made - but otherwise reliable. Has held up well over the last several years but at around 10 years starting to show some wear on the drum suspension from what I can tell. Guess most washers are only made to last at most 10 years. Then when a repairman came to see why it was shaking more than usual would probably be more prudent to buy a new washer than have the old one fixed.

I called my repairman, thinking that somehow the agitator had disengaged from the transmission, and it would be s simple fix. What he found was a broken transmission shaft... The broken part being the size of my little finger, completely broken in half! The cost to repair $300. We launder approx. 7 loads of clothes/ week, none of them being very large.. How did this happen!! CR gave this machine a good rating, I call it a piece of junk! This will be the last LG product that I will purchase.

Agree with the other one star reviews with this issue. This top loader never gets enough water in the tub (on normal cycle) to even get most of the clothes wet, let alone all of them! How can anyone expect clean clothes without water? I always need to press' extra water' or 'deep wash'....which really wastes a lot of water as it will then fill up to the very top rim when I only want it to cover the clothes in the tub! Ridiculous machine - don't they test these things before putting them on the market? So wish we'd returned it when we had the chance...but hubby said 'we'll get the gist of using it' HA.

Nothing but trouble since very first wash. I've used my new top-of-line LG washer about a dozen times. In about 75% of those cycles, it makes a grinding sound so loud that it reverberates throughout the entire house. When the repair tech finally came (after I filed FOUR support requests), the sound didn't occur during his visit and he said he couldn't repair it. He also said the problem is a known issue, and even if the sound had occurred while he was there, he couldn't repair it anyway because the problem is electronic and not mechanical.

I've also noticed a few cycles where it didn't fill with enough water to completely wet the items, and they smelled very soapy after the cycle ended even though I always use the minimum recommended amount of detergent. What I'm left with is an expensive brand new machine that is pretty much unusable, in the midst of the COVID pandemic when I'd especially like to be able to sterilize my clothing and linens. I couldn't be more disappointed in the quality of this product and lack of resolution to the problem.

Can’t even give this one star. I won’t rehash in detail the previous reviews about this miserable washing machine. I have had the same problems: won’t fill with enough water, starts wash cycle with some clothes not even wet, goes out a balance, and it leaks. My first service call was after one month of operation. The technicians put in a new computer board and said that would fix the low water and out of balance issue. It didn’t. I then bought a service insurance policy and glad I did. I’ve had at least four additional service calls to fix the above issues. The rust water leak has stained my travertine tile and the water has warped my baseboards. Still leaks. This has been such a unpleasant experience. I will never again buy an LG product. For the rest of you consumers, stay away from this washing machine.

We purchased a top-loading direct drive LG washing machine at Best Buy a few years ago. From the beginning it has not been a good experience. The steam function never works and it crashes 1/2 way through the cycle EVERY time... and we then have to empty the machine and start over again. Add to this that the regular cycle does not fill with anything close to enough water, and the result is consistently dirty clothes and/or soap that dries inside the machine. And we can't even think about a load larger than about 6 or 7 large towels... as it overloads and "tilts" so we then have to drain the water and remove 1/2 of the load. If we had known how terrible this machine was going to be, we would have bought ANYTHING else. Do yourself a favor and avoid LG washing machines! We wrote to the company 2 times over the last few years and our letters are ignored. They do not seem to care about their customers.

    Original Review: Feb. 25, 2020

We purchased an LG washer and dryer bundle through Lowes. We didn't buy an extended warranty, after all it's a washer and dryer. I have usually kept washer and dryer pairs for 10 years or more. Basically, give them away still working or donate and buy new. After only 3 years, our laundry room and kitchen was flooded because of an apparent leak from the washer. One would assume it would be from the water line, drain or something the user had done to create the situation.

Upon inspection, there was a hole in the underside of the outer hard plastic tub surrounding the inner steel tub. This is a manufacturer defect that is virtually undetectable. There is no access to the the underside of the washing machine when it is placed in position w/o the use of a sidekick. LG refuses to stand by their product and do what is right for their customers. The 10 warranty sticker on the appliances are just that, a sticker. If you read the fine print they will only provide information to get it repaired at the owners cost after the 1st year. That is labor + parts and the time to get it repaired. To get it fixed I have been quoted $600 minimum. To replace it would cost more but only $200 more than the repair. I for one will pay a premium for a brand that stands with their customers in circumstances where they can inspect and clearly see when it is a manufacturer related issue as opposed to a self induced mishandling of the appliance.

About 75% of the loads will experience an out of balance error. The washer will "attempt" to recover by entirely filling with water, agitating and attempt to re-spin. Doesn't work. Even after re-positioning the load, rarely will it complete the cycle. We generally end up removing about half the load and try to spin in batches. We have to "babysit" the machine to prevent it from using more and more water. We will never buy another LG product and do our best to dissuade others from making the same mistake we did. The one star rating we had to give is more than this machine deserves.

Going back to the old top load WITH agitator as soon as possible.

Throws errors LG refused to fix. 2 months old. 3 errors. Model WT7060CV: We purchased from well known retailer, upgraded all external hoses, faucet, etc. at time they installed. Within 2 weeks, started getting errors requiring reset, that worked, now at 2 months of light usage, vacation home, the error claims no water coming into tub. The symptoms however are conflicting: water fills tub and washes, then as it goes into spin, error thrown, tub drains, washer stops working, items in washer are wet. Now we can't get washer to work at all, the current error says requires repair person, we call retailer, they give us LG Customer Service, customer service tells us the problem is no water is coming into tub, I explained that was not the case and reiterated symptoms.

We did video call with LG, they found no problem and said the hose must be clogged since "no water was coming in". We said yes water is coming in, they said to clean the filters which required taking back off of washer but they wouldn't stay on the call to assist, I said water is coming in and seems odd that after 2 months the filters have to be cleaned and I am not comfortable doing this on my own, they said to stop repeating myself and hung up on me. They gave us 2 repair people in Seattle, 1 out of business, 1 never called back. I asked for repair services closer to East side because anyone further out won't drive to our location, they gave me 2 that are further away than first repair service. Retailer told us LG was supposed to call repair service not us.

Now the retailer, who really has been super helpful is dealing with LG and is going to pay for an LG repair company closer to our location that is not on LG authorized list to go out to try to repair the machine. The retailer told me LG is extremely difficult to work with when issues occur with their products. Lesson learned. DON'T BUY LG, I now have a shiny new 2 month old washing machine that does not work and neither the retailer or LG will take back. The good news... The dryer works fine. So far.

Now, every time I wash sheets or blankets they come out with rust stains! Subsequent washing does not remove the rust, therefore it is ruined. We have only had this washer for 6 years and considering that we have an Amana dryer that still works after almost 13 years (and was much cheaper btw) does not speak well to the quality issue with the LG washer.

Our LG washing machine exploded and imploded in less than three years. The outside walls of the machine are bent out and the inside components fell to the bottom of the machine. The machine moved 1-2 feet away from the wall and could have hurt our dog and gone through the opposite wall if we were not home. We are on our third case type number to track this situation. The number does not work to upload the sales slip for the third time in their system.

Today was my fifth call to LG and I was on hold for 14 minutes to try to resolve the systems issue and have finally given up. LG made us have a service call to have the situation assessed and did not pay for the service. LG was told that there was no way the machine could be fixed and we'd sent pictures to prevent the service call. The service person called LG and told them that he's never seen such damage to an LG machine. We are now determining the best approach to resolve this issue particularly with the safety concern. We are also getting rid of LG dryer due to our concerns.

The machine is nothing but junk! It comes with a 10 year warranty and didn't last 4 months? I went to Lowe's again this morning (1-20-20) and talked to the store manager and he said I had to have 3 service calls before LG will do anything about it. He claims he will look into it and will get back to me later today. Now it's hell to have a brand new LG machine that 3 out of 4 months you can't use. We got this washing machine just over 4 years ago. The door lock sticks now and I have to turn it off and back on 30 times before the door will unlock so I can get my clothes out. I don’t have time for that. And yesterday, I went to switch my clothes out and the door was locked of course so I just turned the whole machine off and went back to it today when I had time to mess with it. I still had to tap the frame of the door where the lock is about 3-4 times while turning it off and back on. Then when I finally was able to open it, my clothes were still soaked. So I put it on a spin only cycle. 17 min by default then after it judged the weight and distribution, it went to 10 min.

I came back a few min later, the number of min was on 7 and it was full of water, rinsing. The spin light was flashing, indicating it was spinning and it was on a spin only cycle. We’re going to have to replace it as soon as we can afford to because they only guarantee their products for a year. I was told by the manufacturer that they’d have to charge me to have a maintenance guy from LG come to my house, evaluate the problem and fix it. Had I known they believed in their products this little, I’d have gone with a different brand. We will not be purchasing LG again.

I called again today, 11/29, and was told she could not see that it had been referred for replacement and that I would need to call back Monday morning. So far it has been almost a month with no resolution in sight. Although after reading some of the other reviews, I may have months more of waiting.... Customer service agents are outsourced and speak very broken English. They are very unhelpful and they have no managers to transfer to. They do excel at giving you the run around though! This was the most expensive washer I have ever purchased. I am very disappointed. Side note, the dryer was broken when the delivery guys first brought it out, so they took it back and Home Depot had to order another one.... Within 6 weeks of purchase, our washer would not turn on. We followed online instructions for a "hard reset" and were able to keep the machine running for a few weeks, then that process no longer worked. We called LG who scheduled technician. Purchase date July 26, first repair was mid September. Panel replaced. Washer worked for 4 loads and stopped turning on again. We called a second time. A week later a Tech came. He could not diagnose the problem even with another tech on the phone. Ultimately reported back to LG that our outlet was faulty or not properly grounded. We KNEW this was untrue because we had our electric upgraded years ago. We could not get another tech out until we "proved we had proper electric". We paid out of pocket $170 for an electrician to come and test our outlet and amperage. There was NOTHING wrong with our home wiring. He suggested was a cord issue.

We reported this to LG agents and were told a tech would come back with cord and replace. Tech came a week later. NO cord had been ordered. We were told it was on back order. This was third visit. Our original call to agents informed us that 3 calls to the home and our appliance would be replaced. That was third visit. (And it occurred on Oct 15 which was over a month without a washing machine.) We were told cord was on "back order" and would not be available until some time early November. Every time we called (four times) we were told something different about when the part would be available. The technician told us he would recommend replacement. He requested copy of receipt. We sent texted image to tech and assumed all was in place. Two weeks later, on Oct. 30 I called again for an update. I was told (after speaking to THREE DIFFERENT AGENTS) that the tech had not submitted recommendation for replacement.

Agent contacted tech who said we had not provided receipt of purchase. I was also told by agent "Arthur" that the part "on back order" had in fact been sent to the technician on Oct. 23rd. (Per Arthur this came from Jamie in parts dept.) I demanded replacement. Was told to upload receipt to a portal emailed to me (which I did) and a "replacement review would be implemented". Per agent Ivan this would take about 5 business days. The next day the technician called and wanted to schedule a Saturday visit for repair, because "miraculously" he did in fact have the part after all. My husband and I were both unable to be home, he worked and my father is seriously ill) so we declined that Saturday repair. I also was afraid that if he came out and was still unable to repair the washer it would cancel the process in motion for a replacement.

I also reported this conversation to Ivan, as he called me back that same Thursday to check in and inform me that he had received my uploaded document as requested. He agreed that another repair attempt may further muddy the situation. Six business days later I called LG again and spoke to agent "Mary". She said the technician had submitted a recommendation but not a "request" and the process had to begin again. I was furious. It was now one week into November and I am still paying for laundromat services to have clean clothes WHILE making payments to Lowe's for the non working washer.

Ultimately, I called from another phone to the tech on speaker (his number was on his business card) while agent Mary was on the other phone on speaker and insisted they speak to each other. The tech said he had "done everything he was supposed to do and was tired of people dragging him back into the situation". He hung up on me (the tech) and Mary the agent was very apologetic but had no recourse besides starting over with the replacement appeal. The next day, the technician called my husband and said he could come that very day and replace the cord. (Funny how when people are forced to communicate in front of the customer, miracles happen.)

My husband allowed him to come. He replaced the top selection panel, the "front panel" and the power cord. He said if the washer stops working now we will have to get it replaced because there is nothing left to repair. That was November 7th. One week later, the washer is functioning properly and I am still catching up on my wash. This took from September 12 to Nov 7th --FIFTY SIX DAYS (almost two full months, and nearly twice as long as we owned the washer before it stopped working), four technician visits, three parts replaced, out of pocket cost for an electrician to test our power (though we knew that was not the issue) and at LEAST 12 CALLS to LG to resolve.

I have been a home owner since 1991. NEVER EVER in my life have I experienced more frustration in dealing with "customer service". After the second unsuccessful attempt to repair an BRAND NEW washing machine we should have been offered a hassle free replacement. LG not only sells a product they can't repair, they have no willingness to make things right with their customers. I will tell everyone I know about this experience and discourage them from purchasing any product LG makes. I will never even CONSIDER their products in the future. "Life's Good" ?? Not for LG customers.

I purchased a LG WM3370HVA Front Load Washing Machine in the fall of 2016. Three months later the front control board stop working. I called LG Warranty Dept. A Tech was sent out a week later. The Tech order a new board. 2 weeks later the Tech returned and installed the new board. Two months later the electronic light board failed. LG Warranty contacted. Tech sent out to diagnose problem. New light board ordered. Tech returned in 10 days to install board.

Fall 2019 Washing Machine starts to knock and shake. LG Warranty contacted. Tech diagnosed the machine with a broken spider arm and leaking rear seal. LG stated they would cover parts but not the labor. Cost of labor repairs $300 plus. To say I am disappointed in the quality of LG would be an understatement! Tech informed me that LG is not building their Washing Machine with quality parts. They use white metal and not steel or aluminum to keep costs of production down. This attributes to very short life spans of their Machines.

We purchased an LG inverter direct drive washing machine four years ago, there seems to be some sort of ash looking material on our clothing after the first year. Today the agitator bolts snapped in half and the large circular agitator in the bottom of the washing machine came off. I pulled out the agitator since it was broken and underneath was a ton of ash looking junk and gunk. Horrible product. Do not purchase. Very unhappy. I have to buy a different washing machine today because this one broke and it is horrible.

New LG washing machine default wash setting of NORMAL only fills tub with about 1/4 of water. I watched a complete wash cycle and some of the towels were never submerged in the water. They did not get sloshed or agitated in any water. They just stayed in a pile above the water line. This is terrible. I called LG and they told me that was normal for the NORMAL setting to save water. If I put a lot of clothes in the tub I have to choose the bedding setting so the tub will fill with water and the clothes then get washed properly. I am so sorry I did not check and observe this as my 30 day free return period has passed by just 10 days. I would definitely have returned this washing machine if I had known it doesn't have a means to sense how much water to put into the tub. Also trying to get service on their website is not easy. I will never buy any LG product in the future. LG = Living Good, well not for me.

We purchased our LG front loading washer and dryer in 2018. Like many of the reviews I have read we too are very disappointed in our purchase. I noticed that the clothes came out smelling within a few months of buying and I called LG DIRECTLY as it was under their warranty but was told that I need to run the tub clean more often. Done that for over a year and also washed clothes twice - not efficient as waste of energy. We do have an extended warranty and recently a tech came out so I let him open the washer door as I had just done a tub clean the night before - it smelled like a rat was dead in the drum. He too agreed he had never experienced that before!

He poured half a bottle of my Bleach and ran the cycles again for almost 2 hours. Said the problem was fixed and if I experienced the smell again I needed to call them back thru Assurant the company who warranties the extended warranty. Did so and they declined to send a different tech saying that there was no mechanical problem. My clothes come out smelling and the even the dryer time has to be increased to double for the clothes to dry correctly. NEVER BUY THIS WASHER OR DRYER EVER. EVEN THE EXTENDED WARRANTY WILL OT HELP WITH THIS PROBLEM. I bought the pair from a very reputable store in the area but I believe that LG Is aware of the problems with the machines and do not want to take responsibility for the defects. I do hope this review deters anyone buying an LG front load direct drive washer and dryer.

Shortly after year warranty machine gives error code 6. Thankfully we had extended warranty. Service mechanic attempted to replace defective clutch after waiting a week for the part, but apparently the nut that holds the unit together corrodes so he had to cut it to remove. After waiting another week for the nut he replaced the defective clutch. Behold the new clutch is supposedly bad. After calling customer service at LG I was told to keep my phone line open and to expect a call from a technician. Sitting here waiting on a call wondering if we will be waiting another two weeks to have it fixed.

Thinking if this is going to become another lawsuit issue as they had with the first LG model? Water saving, that is a joke. Takes almost two hours to clean clothes adequately as you need extra rinse to get them rinsed properly. Then wrings them so tight you have to try too untangle them before you can put in dryer. Hope that by end of day something is resolved. Only good thing to say is the extended warranty people have been excellent trying to help, but don't think they are connected to LG.

Washer is staining clothing, and the stains will not come out. I've had 2 repair people (both sent by LG) come out and they have both told me it should be replaced. After numerous calls to LG, and their stating they never got any feedback from the repair techs, they finally tracked down the comments. LG has said that the feedback they received from the first service tech was he couldn't find the problem...and since he didn't even take out any tools to dismantle the machine, that is true. But when he told me it should be replaced, and that would be what he would communicate to LG, I believed him.

After asking for a 2nd opinion, they sent a 2nd tech who also advised it should be replaced. However, LG said that 2nd tech said it needed to be repaired but that I declined further service (which is absolutely false). Happy to have it repaired, replaced, whatever...just want to have a washing machine that doesn't leave stains on my clothing...but it seems LG doesn't want to replace a faulty product, nor do they want to send qualified repair people to actually address the problem. Super frustrated, and will never buy another LG product again, as this experience has been completely awful.

We purchased a model WM3270CW Front Loader washer from Best Buy on 06/25/18. This machine was only used very carefully in our home. After washing a small load of pillow cases and face cloths I removed them and dried them in the dryer. About two hours later, on 8/30/19, we were sitting in another room of our condo and heard a loud crash. I walked around trying to find the location of the noise. It had come from the washer. The glass on the door had imploded into the machine tub. The door was ajar for air circulation so some of the shards also were on the floor of the laundry room. About an hour later there was another loud sound. This time the outer edges of the part of the door that had landed into the tub exploded off.

After various calls to LG and lots of conversations to try to get rid of me, I was told that they were referring this problem to their "safety department". They kept promising return calls within 24 to 48 hours but they never came. I finally was given a case number and was connected to their Escalation Team Department. This last conversation resulted in a visit from a technician from A&E Factory services on Sept. 10. He informed us that there is no record at LG of a door ever imploding. He said that LG believes we hit the door or caused the problem ourselves. We did not hit the door. No one in our home hit the door and there is no way that we caused the problem. We did not cause the glass to implode!

We are fortunate that there was no one in the room to be injured by the flying glass when the door imploded. I believe this machine needs to be recalled. There is a serious safety issue here that LG is not willing to recognize. Thank you for reading this. As you can see I am very upset. LG is really just trying to get rid of me and my complaint. They said this has never happened before. Now my online research has proved that this has happened to other people with LG machines. I am concerned about even using this model LG if it is ever repaired. We had a previous LG Front Loader for 8 years and had to replace it because of leaking and mold. I still have the dryer and bought this one so it would look almost the same as the dryer.

We were told that the mold issue has been taken care of with the way to keep the door ajar. It is much newer and is obviously not as well built even though the other one had several bad issues such as mold and leaking. I would never buy another LG appliance. The company does not want to know that there is a fault with this current washer. Someone could have been seriously injured.

Last repair person told me I can either accept another appointment with another part (computer) or ask for my money back. He suggested to get money back and another brand. Not LG.

When I spoke to an LG rep, he told me the report came back fine; no problems reported. I told him that is incorrect. I called the tech back and explained what LG said. He told me that is not true. However, it is out-of-his-hands. I called LG back, and came across horrible customer service. An LG rep hung up on me regarding to speak to a supervisor. I call back and ask another rep if I can schedule another appointment in order for tech to come out and reverify the same issue. LG rep said I couldn't make an appointment because the report said the machine is ok.

I am frustrated and saddened that as a consumer I can't get this resolved. I did go back to the store where I purchased the washer. They called LG. They told LG I wasn't satisfied with the washer and that I have a warranty. Mind you this issue is still under the manufacturer's warranty; less than twelve months. I also have a three year extended warranty. I do not recommend anything from LG. The customer service at LG doesn't care about the customer. I have more to say, but I won't. I spent a total of $700 for a washer that doesn't work. LG pretends everything is ok. I spend more time washing my clothes outside my home. This isn't fair. We bought the LG WT1701C washer and matching dryer for a new house. I started to notice the clothes weren't getting clean, even on the "Hot" setting. I felt the water, and the in the "Hot" setting, the water was barely tepid. A service tech came to look at it and informed me that most of the new washer brands have a top temperature of 100 degrees. I was shocked to find this out. He did inform me that selecting a different wash cycle than "Normal", like Bright Whites or Oxi Sanitize, will give you water that's hotter but those cycle times are longer.

Also, in the Normal cycle, it seems that the washer takes more time to sense the size of the load than it does to wash it. Although I saw that it had no center agitator, I assumed the washer action would be similar to the old agitators. But I have watched laundry loads that swish back and forth but sometimes the laundry on top doesn't get down to the tub that does the washing. The agitation doesn't seem to be very strong. Again, selecting a different setting like "Heavy" soil, will create a stronger agitation.

If you're shorter than 5' 6", you'll need a stool to reach the bottom of the tub. And be careful about inadvertently pushing buttons once your load has started. While reaching in the washer, I inadvertently hit a button that changed the setting. I could not go back or resume and had to start over. I was 2/3 through the cycle so it was very inefficient in water and electric.

So far the dryer seems to work well. Although it's a nice looking set, I would not buy it again. Even with some concerns about the smell in front loaders, I would choose a front loader to make sure that the clothes tumble enough to get clean. I believe this model has been discontinued but there are newer models with similar model numbers that I believe will have the same issues.

Bought a brand new stacking washer/ dryer set in March of 2018. Loved the features and functions, and it ran smooth and quiet. By January 2019, the door hinge had seized, and we noticed dried soapy residue under the left side of the machine. Had to argue with LG to replace hinge under warranty, and they tried to charge me to un-stack the unit. The tech said that we should be more careful loading soap into the tray, and that dripping soap gets on the hinges and eats the metal. Seems like a pretty big problem for a washing machine where the dispenser tray is right above the door hinge.

By April, the latch had also failed, but was out of warranty. Fortunately I had purchased an extended warranty. They also tried to hit me for $150 to un-stack the unit. Now here we are in June 2019, with a seized hinge again! Door won't fully open or close, and now the door leaks when a cycle is run. However, the unit is also leaking from inside the soap apparatus somewhere inside the machine. The entire leg, face plate, and the inside of the machine is rusting below the soap tray. This probably caused the first hinge issue.

Warranty company says it is a pre-existing condition and will not cover corrosion and rust related issues as that should be by the manufacturer. LG says it's not their problem, and only offer a 90 day warranty on first hinge replacement, which is expired. I am now on the hook for the entire repair, which is yet to be determined (since I have to pay for someone to even come out and tell me what is wrong). Not even a year into it, and this thing is a piece of garbage. With the two units, tax, delivery, installation, extended warranty, new floor pan, etc., I spent $2000.00 on this set, and all of that is completely worthless when you have a problem with it.

LG will only keep sending service people and replacing parts in hopes that the product will work as expected. Any REPUTABLE company would have replaced the unit immediately. CONSUMER BEWARE.

Half a day spent searching the internet, calling parts suppliers and local repair services has confirmed that LG doesn't make spare parts. The machine is recently out of warranty, and is entirely useless. It is also impossible to contact the company; their number sends you to a contract part's warehouse whose staff are monumentally unhelpful.

This washer goes off kilter on any load that doesn't have exactly the same weight items in it. You can't wash jeans and tee shirts or flannels, even if you balance the jeans. A small load of like items works ok, but not much else. Large loads never fully agitate. Only the bottom of the load gets moved. The washer spends more time rebalancing itself than washing. Many times I have had to remove half the load and rinse and spin a few items at a time. Don't buy this washer.

Bought a top of the line LG washer. Washes regular loads of clothing well -- HOWEVER -- do NOT plan to wash sheets or mattress pads! No matter how I balanced the load, the machine cannot get through the spin cycle. This morning, I have taken some out (that didn't help) -- added the removed blanket back (that didn't work - no matter how I repositioned the items) -- put the first piece back and added additional sheets, hoping that would enable the machine to spin (nope - still won't spin!) I replaced my older Maytag front loader with this LG one and am SOOOO sorry we did!

Please pay attention to the other reviewers advising against purchasing one of these LG washing machines! They are not exaggerating! This is a nightmare! LG serviceman could not help -- told me to only place items that fill the washer 2/3's full. Doing with this with bedding only makes the "unbalance" worse. I have a hard time getting my clothes out of washer. (I am only 5 ft. tall so that is not really an issue with the washing machine itself.) This is about my front-loading washer. For some reason it ties the clothes in knots all around each other. And it doesn't put enough water in the tub. Sometimes a load of clothes is still dry in the centre when I take it out. Since it's the water that cleans and your soap just helps the water, this makes the washer ineffective and difficult to use. My last front loader did neither of these things, but I was told that the quality of that brand had declined so went with LG, as I'd had good experiences with some of their other products. BAH!!

If I could’ve given this zero stars I would’ve. I bought this LG (Life is Good) top loader washing machine and LG Dryer because my old dryer finally broke after 10 years of usage. My previous washing Machine worked fine but the wife wanted the new LG dryer to match a new LG washing machine. So we bought the set. After maybe 4-5 years I noticed some rust on the inside of the body of the washer. Well that rust spot got bigger and more rust spots began to pop up. After many failed attempts with LG customer service and their service technician in my area the end results were that they would not repair or replace the washer. It is considered a cosmetic issue.

The rust has dropped into the washer with the clean clothes defeating the purpose of cleaning the clothes. It now has become a hassle pulling the so called clean clothes out of the washer without touching the sides or the top because it’s all rusty. I’ve sent LG pictures of the rust at their request with no response. During the time of purchase we also bought other LG appliances. I’ve had problems with their microwave, stove, dishwasher and refrigerator. My older appliances I had that were much less expensive outlasted the very expensive LG CRAP I bought. Don’t buy LG!!

We bought this LG WM3670MWA washer and paired dryer at Nebraska Furniture Mart in in June 30,2018. The Silk screened Cycle Name lettering is now dissolving and even rubbing off the washer. LG says it's COSMETIC damage because "something other than warm water and a damp cloth was used to clean the washer". We use Shout as a pre-wash and have for the last 15+ years. Our 13 year old Samsung front loaders never had any issues with lettering rub off. I sprayed Shout on a 9 year old silk screened plastic cup and let it sit for a week, adding Shout each day, and it's still perfect. Never buy another LG Product. NFM's $270.00 extra warranty was worthless for this as they say if LG says it's cosmetic, there's no reason to even come look at it. They only cover mechanical breakdown. Not happy with performance either. Also, Turbo-Wash times are reasonable but will only take 3 items (?).

If I could give zero stars, I would. Do not buy anything from LG. I have owned an LG top-load washing machine since 2012. Four months ago, it stopped working in the middle of a load of laundry and trapped the entire load in the washer because the un-lock mechanism didn't stop working when the washing machine did. The first technician told me to buy a new machine and break the lid -- on a 6 year old machine!

Then the fun began (to quote many other reviewers). LG phone representatives do not give you a straight answer, do not understand the issues, don't follow up, refuse to acknowledge your issues, and even LIE -- I can go on and on. In addition, LG corporation itself is running a scheme of taking advantage of consumers by ignoring their complaints and then charging exorbitant prices for parts so that consumers are forced to purchase a new appliance. After 3 months of back and forth because I could never get an answer or a supervisor/manager, I finally learned that the parts alone to repair the machine are estimated at over $400 (again, not including labor), which would bring the repair cost to about the cost of the machine when new.

It has gotten progressively worse and my clothes are being ruined as I have to rinse them several times and I still can't get it all off. Since January I have made at least 12 calls to customer service, executive services and now have been bumped up to product specialists. I have had 4 service calls and spoken with the manager of the department in the retail store where we purchased the machine. The LG service man who was last here acknowledged that there was a problem as he actually saw it on my clothes but told me that he could find no source for it so LG wouldn't replace the machine.

I have documented with pictures and sent two letters with another going out today; have researched online and found complaints of the same thing happening to other people; and called my own appliance repair company that I have used on other appliances. They told me they had a customer with the exact same problem. They went out and took her machine apart and they were not able to find the source of the problem either. The matter that is left on the clothes looks like white/tan specks all of the clothes or it comes out in big streaks and smears. In my conversations with each and every department they have given me tasks and advice that contradict the information in their own product manual.

I have run tub clean per their instructions many times. With product; with bleach; without anything; have had our water tested and drained our hot water heater. All to no avail. I think the appliance is defective in some way and LG will not replace it. It is ruining my clothes. At this rate I will have to purchase a new washer and a new wardrobe!

We found many other similar complaints online and contacted LG, only to be told that the rust is 'cosmetic'. Soon our bleach dispenser will be unusable. During a normal cycle, water runs through the bleach dispenser, so even if I stop using it for bleach, the rusty water will still enter the washer drum. Terrycloth towels come out stiff and scratchy instead of soft and relatively fluffy. Most of the time, some parts of a pair of pants, for example, are not even wet when the wash is done. The problem, I think, is lack of water. It is impossible to get enough water into the (front-loading) machine to properly wash clothes - even when the extra water option is used. Way back when I lived in military barracks and used front-loading washing machines, the water level was generally a third to half way up the front 'window'. Not so with this LG machine. The washer has been balanced numerous times as well. If I don’t monitor the situation it can take over 2 1/2 hours for a simple load of laundry to finish. I have also noticed a foul smell at times which necessitates the use of bleach and/or Lysol for cleaning the tub. I've contacted the support again about why he did not show up. They provided me with no concrete reason as to why, and no explanation why they didn't even contact me about it. More back and forth on how to solve this issue and as it turns out they cannot even rebook me for another time slot; since there are no open slots. So now, I'm two weeks into not be able to use a dryer with no time that a technician can come in to fix it, and support who don't really care if this gets solved. All of this on a $2500 purchase of a brand new set. To summarize avoid buying LG.
