I purchased a LG WM3370HVA Front Load Washing Machine in the fall of 2016. Three months later the front control board stop working. I called LG Warranty Dept. A Tech was sent out a week later. The Tech order a new board. 2 weeks later the Tech returned and installed the new board. Two months later the electronic light board failed. LG Warranty contacted. Tech sent out to diagnose problem. New light board ordered. Tech returned in 10 days to install board.

Fall 2019 Washing Machine starts to knock and shake. LG Warranty contacted. Tech diagnosed the machine with a broken spider arm and leaking rear seal. LG stated they would cover parts but not the labor. Cost of labor repairs $300 plus. To say I am disappointed in the quality of LG would be an understatement! Tech informed me that LG is not building their Washing Machine with quality parts. They use white metal and not steel or aluminum to keep costs of production down. This attributes to very short life spans of their Machines.

We purchased an LG inverter direct drive washing machine four years ago, there seems to be some sort of ash looking material on our clothing after the first year. Today the agitator bolts snapped in half and the large circular agitator in the bottom of the washing machine came off. I pulled out the agitator since it was broken and underneath was a ton of ash looking junk and gunk. Horrible product. Do not purchase. Very unhappy. I have to buy a different washing machine today because this one broke and it is horrible.

New LG washing machine default wash setting of NORMAL only fills tub with about 1/4 of water. I watched a complete wash cycle and some of the towels were never submerged in the water. They did not get sloshed or agitated in any water. They just stayed in a pile above the water line. This is terrible. I called LG and they told me that was normal for the NORMAL setting to save water. If I put a lot of clothes in the tub I have to choose the bedding setting so the tub will fill with water and the clothes then get washed properly. I am so sorry I did not check and observe this as my 30 day free return period has passed by just 10 days. I would definitely have returned this washing machine if I had known it doesn't have a means to sense how much water to put into the tub. Also trying to get service on their website is not easy. I will never buy any LG product in the future. LG = Living Good, well not for me.

I have had this LG Direct drive top load washing machine for approximately 3 years. My laundry has never smelled bad but since we bought this washing machine I hate to do laundry. It NEVER smells good (always smells bad). I have done all the recommended precautions. I always use HE detergent. I leave the door open between loads, tub clean, bleach etc. Nothing works! I HATE HATE HATE this washing machine. If anyone reads this don't buy it. I used to trust LG but I think they should stick to t.v.'s!!! Please make them give us our money back!

We purchased our LG front loading washer and dryer in 2018. Like many of the reviews I have read we too are very disappointed in our purchase. I noticed that the clothes came out smelling within a few months of buying and I called LG DIRECTLY as it was under their warranty but was told that I need to run the tub clean more often. Done that for over a year and also washed clothes twice - not efficient as waste of energy. We do have an extended warranty and recently a tech came out so I let him open the washer door as I had just done a tub clean the night before - it smelled like a rat was dead in the drum. He too agreed he had never experienced that before!

He poured half a bottle of my Bleach and ran the cycles again for almost 2 hours. Said the problem was fixed and if I experienced the smell again I needed to call them back thru Assurant the company who warranties the extended warranty. Did so and they declined to send a different tech saying that there was no mechanical problem. My clothes come out smelling and the even the dryer time has to be increased to double for the clothes to dry correctly. NEVER BUY THIS WASHER OR DRYER EVER. EVEN THE EXTENDED WARRANTY WILL OT HELP WITH THIS PROBLEM. I bought the pair from a very reputable store in the area but I believe that LG Is aware of the problems with the machines and do not want to take responsibility for the defects. I do hope this review deters anyone buying an LG front load direct drive washer and dryer.

Shortly after year warranty machine gives error code 6. Thankfully we had extended warranty. Service mechanic attempted to replace defective clutch after waiting a week for the part, but apparently the nut that holds the unit together corrodes so he had to cut it to remove. After waiting another week for the nut he replaced the defective clutch. Behold the new clutch is supposedly bad. After calling customer service at LG I was told to keep my phone line open and to expect a call from a technician. Sitting here waiting on a call wondering if we will be waiting another two weeks to have it fixed.

Thinking if this is going to become another lawsuit issue as they had with the first LG model? Water saving, that is a joke. Takes almost two hours to clean clothes adequately as you need extra rinse to get them rinsed properly. Then wrings them so tight you have to try too untangle them before you can put in dryer. Hope that by end of day something is resolved. Only good thing to say is the extended warranty people have been excellent trying to help, but don't think they are connected to LG.

Washer is staining clothing, and the stains will not come out. I've had 2 repair people (both sent by LG) come out and they have both told me it should be replaced. After numerous calls to LG, and their stating they never got any feedback from the repair techs, they finally tracked down the comments. LG has said that the feedback they received from the first service tech was he couldn't find the problem...and since he didn't even take out any tools to dismantle the machine, that is true. But when he told me it should be replaced, and that would be what he would communicate to LG, I believed him.

After asking for a 2nd opinion, they sent a 2nd tech who also advised it should be replaced. However, LG said that 2nd tech said it needed to be repaired but that I declined further service (which is absolutely false). Happy to have it repaired, replaced, whatever...just want to have a washing machine that doesn't leave stains on my clothing...but it seems LG doesn't want to replace a faulty product, nor do they want to send qualified repair people to actually address the problem. Super frustrated, and will never buy another LG product again, as this experience has been completely awful.

The most frustrating W/D I have ever purchased with the stupid bells, whistles and lights. Most of the different programs are useless and not practical. There's a thumping noise in the dryer when the drum is turning, not suppose to be there but as long as the drum is turning no one will consider it a problem, I will NEVER purchase another LG product again and I suggest you do the same.

We bought our brand new LG front load washing machine 2 years ago. It already has a bad bearing. LG will not warranty it because I don't have an extended warranty. This is clearly either cheap parts, or terrible quality assurance on LG's part. Bearings shouldn't go bad this fast. Car wheels have bearings that last up to 200,000 miles. The customer service department there expressed that it wasn't really their problem, and continued to ask me to pay a deposit on service for the unit. Will never buy an LG appliance again.

We purchased a model WM3270CW Front Loader washer from Best Buy on 06/25/18. This machine was only used very carefully in our home. After washing a small load of pillow cases and face cloths I removed them and dried them in the dryer. About two hours later, on 8/30/19, we were sitting in another room of our condo and heard a loud crash. I walked around trying to find the location of the noise. It had come from the washer. The glass on the door had imploded into the machine tub. The door was ajar for air circulation so some of the shards also were on the floor of the laundry room. About an hour later there was another loud sound. This time the outer edges of the part of the door that had landed into the tub exploded off.

After various calls to LG and lots of conversations to try to get rid of me, I was told that they were referring this problem to their "safety department". They kept promising return calls within 24 to 48 hours but they never came. I finally was given a case number and was connected to their Escalation Team Department. This last conversation resulted in a visit from a technician from A&E Factory services on Sept. 10. He informed us that there is no record at LG of a door ever imploding. He said that LG believes we hit the door or caused the problem ourselves. We did not hit the door. No one in our home hit the door and there is no way that we caused the problem. We did not cause the glass to implode!

We are fortunate that there was no one in the room to be injured by the flying glass when the door imploded. I believe this machine needs to be recalled. There is a serious safety issue here that LG is not willing to recognize. Thank you for reading this. As you can see I am very upset. LG is really just trying to get rid of me and my complaint. They said this has never happened before. Now my online research has proved that this has happened to other people with LG machines. I am concerned about even using this model LG if it is ever repaired. We had a previous LG Front Loader for 8 years and had to replace it because of leaking and mold. I still have the dryer and bought this one so it would look almost the same as the dryer.

We were told that the mold issue has been taken care of with the way to keep the door ajar. It is much newer and is obviously not as well built even though the other one had several bad issues such as mold and leaking. I would never buy another LG appliance. The company does not want to know that there is a fault with this current washer. Someone could have been seriously injured.

Overall this is a great washing machine and works as expected. I purchased this washer 12/16. The plastic housing has developed cracks on the inside where the wash drum is, more of a structural thing and not mechanical. Contacted LG and they stated only the Direct Drive Motor was under any warranty, 10 yr warranty. I explained that if the washer housing was falling apart around the drive motor what use would the motor be. They offered a one time warranty that would have to be reviewed by their underwriters. I received a call several days later stating it would not be replaced. Just want to let others know to look for these cracks/flaws after a few years of use. Weak plastic housing and poor quality control. I will not be replacing or purchasing any LG products in the future.

In just six years, this machine completely rusted through to the point in incontinence, leaking like a sieve. After six years of chewing my pants legs to shreds, we had this abomination removed in favor of another (Superior) brand. On the way out, this piece of crap dropped approximately one half pound of rust and some formerly steel plates that fell off after having turned to rust. All moisture causing this came from within the cabinet of the machine, the Laundry Room is well ventilated. I won’t trust LG on ANY products they sell ever again. Original price was slightly north of $600 and was sold by Lowe’s.

Purchased LG top load washer from Lowe's this past March. I noticed issues with washer May. The Washer machine would not finish its spin cycle; stuck with one minute left for over 20 minutes. Stopped washer. Clothes felt heavy. Long story made short. I've had two different repair companies visit 4 times in a three month period for the same problem. LG claims part sent out was defective. Last repair person told me I can either accept another appointment with another part (computer) or ask for my money back. He suggested to get money back and another brand. Not LG.

When I spoke to an LG rep, he told me the report came back fine; no problems reported. I told him that is incorrect. I called the tech back and explained what LG said. He told me that is not true. However, it is out-of-his-hands. I called LG back, and came across horrible customer service. An LG rep hung up on me regarding to speak to a supervisor. I call back and ask another rep if I can schedule another appointment in order for tech to come out and reverify the same issue. LG rep said I couldn't make an appointment because the report said the machine is ok.

I am frustrated and saddened that as a consumer I can't get this resolved. I did go back to the store where I purchased the washer. They called LG. They told LG I wasn't satisfied with the washer and that I have a warranty. Mind you this issue is still under the manufacturer's warranty; less than twelve months. I also have a three year extended warranty. I do not recommend anything from LG. The customer service at LG doesn't care about the customer. I have more to say, but I won't. I spent a total of $700 for a washer that doesn't work. LG pretends everything is ok. I spend more time washing my clothes outside my home. This isn't fair. There should be a LEMON law for appliances.

Only washing things at night after work. Now the machine can't make it 5 mins without stopping the cycle. The LG site bounces you around and makes it very hard to try and request a repair. LG is not a brand I would recommend to anyone. After being on hold for quite some time and passed to 4 different departments, all by accident, when all I want is help with a washer issue that is a known issue. Apparently the unit we purchased, a top loader inverter has issues with drainage after a short period of time. The washer is unbearably smelly. Water seems to stay in the plastic tub instead of draining. After going thru the manual and reading all the complaints online after the fact, we have not found a solution for a practically new washer. Oh, and our purchase records are apparently lost. So of course their only solution is to contact service and pay to have their known issue fixed. I will never purchase LG again. Have not had issues with other vendors like I have had with this one. If anyone has seen this issue and corrected, I would love to hear your solution.

10 year motor warranty is useless to me/read the fine print. I have an expensive top load direct drive LG washer that was 3 years old when the machine broke. I called LG and they gave me the name of a company to do a diagnostic. That company came out and determined that the motor shaft was broken. The tech estimated that it would cost close to $900 to fix. (Could buy a new washer for that) Thinking that being absurd, I called LG back and they told me that the part was covered but not the labor. The labor is covered for only a YEAR.

They further told me that the guy that they recommended price was way too high. They gave me another number and I called that number only to find out that the company will only service items underparts and labor! Here's the ridiculous part. I can't find anyone willing to do a service call when just the part is under warranty. So after 3 years with an expensive washer it is looking like my only choice is to buy a new washer. We bought the LG WT1701C washer and matching dryer for a new house. I started to notice the clothes weren't getting clean, even on the "Hot" setting. I felt the water, and the in the "Hot" setting, the water was barely tepid. A service tech came to look at it and informed me that most of the new washer brands have a top temperature of 100 degrees. I was shocked to find this out. He did inform me that selecting a different wash cycle than "Normal", like Bright Whites or Oxi Sanitize, will give you water that's hotter but those cycle times are longer.

Also, in the Normal cycle, it seems that the washer takes more time to sense the size of the load than it does to wash it. Although I saw that it had no center agitator, I assumed the washer action would be similar to the old agitators. But I have watched laundry loads that swish back and forth but sometimes the laundry on top doesn't get down to the tub that does the washing. The agitation doesn't seem to be very strong. Again, selecting a different setting like "Heavy" soil, will create a stronger agitation.

If you're shorter than 5' 6", you'll need a stool to reach the bottom of the tub. And be careful about inadvertently pushing buttons once your load has started. While reaching in the washer, I inadvertently hit a button that changed the setting. I could not go back or resume and had to start over. I was 2/3 through the cycle so it was very inefficient in water and electric.

So far the dryer seems to work well. Although it's a nice looking set, I would not buy it again. Even with some concerns about the smell in front loaders, I would choose a front loader to make sure that the clothes tumble enough to get clean. I believe this model has been discontinued but there are newer models with similar model numbers that I believe will have the same issues.

Bought a brand new stacking washer/ dryer set in March of 2018. Loved the features and functions, and it ran smooth and quiet. By January 2019, the door hinge had seized, and we noticed dried soapy residue under the left side of the machine. Had to argue with LG to replace hinge under warranty, and they tried to charge me to un-stack the unit. The tech said that we should be more careful loading soap into the tray, and that dripping soap gets on the hinges and eats the metal. Seems like a pretty big problem for a washing machine where the dispenser tray is right above the door hinge.

By April, the latch had also failed, but was out of warranty. Fortunately I had purchased an extended warranty. They also tried to hit me for $150 to un-stack the unit. Now here we are in June 2019, with a seized hinge again! Door won't fully open or close, and now the door leaks when a cycle is run. However, the unit is also leaking from inside the soap apparatus somewhere inside the machine. The entire leg, face plate, and the inside of the machine is rusting below the soap tray. This probably caused the first hinge issue.

Warranty company says it is a pre-existing condition and will not cover corrosion and rust related issues as that should be by the manufacturer. LG says it's not their problem, and only offer a 90 day warranty on first hinge replacement, which is expired. I am now on the hook for the entire repair, which is yet to be determined (since I have to pay for someone to even come out and tell me what is wrong). Not even a year into it, and this thing is a piece of garbage. With the two units, tax, delivery, installation, extended warranty, new floor pan, etc., I spent $2000.00 on this set, and all of that is completely worthless when you have a problem with it.

So if I need an annual fix it is my problem, since it did not happen in 90 days.

When doing the first load of laundry, the washer leaked from the bottom onto my new tile floor. I contacted Home Depot and after a bit of haggling was able to get them to provide a replacement which will be delivered on 5/23. Based on this experience, I have significant concerns about the quality and durability of my new laundry equipment to the extent that I requested LG provide a warranty extension. This request was refused by LG. I will never buy an LG product again and will be sure to spread the word to friends and family that this is a brand to be avoided.

The machine is recently out of warranty, and is entirely useless. A small load of like items works ok, but not much else. Large loads never fully agitate. Only the bottom of the load gets moved. The washer spends more time rebalancing itself than washing. Many times I have had to remove half the load and rinse and spin a few items at a time. Don't buy this washer.

This morning, I have taken some out (that didn't help) -- added the removed blanket back (that didn't work - no matter how I repositioned the items) -- put the first piece back and added additional sheets, hoping that would enable the machine to spin (nope - still won't spin!) I replaced my older Maytag front loader with this LG one and am SOOOO sorry we did!

Please pay attention to the other reviewers advising against purchasing one of these LG washing machines! They are not exaggerating! This is a nightmare! Sometimes a load of clothes is still dry in the centre when I take it out. Since it's the water that cleans and your soap just helps the water, this makes the washer ineffective and difficult to use. If I could’ve given this zero stars I would’ve. I bought this LG (Life is Good) top loader washing machine and LG Dryer because my old dryer finally broke after 10 years of usage. My previous washing Machine worked fine but the wife wanted the new LG dryer to match a new LG washing machine. So we bought the set. After maybe 4-5 years I noticed some rust on the inside of the body of the washer. Well that rust spot got bigger and more rust spots began to pop up. After many failed attempts with LG customer service and their service technician in my area the end results were that they would not repair or replace the washer. It is considered a cosmetic issue.

The rust has dropped into the washer with the clean clothes defeating the purpose of cleaning the clothes. It now has become a hassle pulling the so called clean clothes out of the washer without touching the sides or the top because it’s all rusty. I’ve sent LG pictures of the rust at their request with no response. During the time of purchase we also bought other LG appliances. I’ve had problems with their microwave, stove, dishwasher and refrigerator. My older appliances I had that were much less expensive outlasted the very expensive LG CRAP I bought. Don’t buy LG!!

Our 13 year old Samsung front loaders never had any issues with lettering rub off. I sprayed Shout on a 9 year old silk screened plastic cup and let it sit for a week, adding Shout each day, and it's still perfect. Never buy another LG Product. NFM's $270.00 extra warranty was worthless for this as they say if LG says it's cosmetic, there's no reason to even come look at it. They only cover mechanical breakdown. Not happy with performance either. Also, Turbo-Wash times are reasonable but will only take 3 items (?).

Four months ago, it stopped working in the middle of a load of laundry and trapped the entire load in the washer because the un-lock mechanism didn't stop working when the washing machine did. The first technician told me to buy a new machine and break the lid -- on a 6 year old machine!

Then the fun began (to quote many other reviewers). LG phone representatives do not give you a straight answer, do not understand the issues, don't follow up, refuse to acknowledge your issues, and even LIE -- I can go on and on. In addition, LG corporation itself is running a scheme of taking advantage of consumers by ignoring their complaints and then charging exorbitant prices for parts so that consumers are forced to purchase a new appliance. After 3 months of back and forth because I could never get an answer or a supervisor/manager, I finally learned that the parts alone to repair the machine are estimated at over $400 (again, not including labor), which would bring the repair cost to about the cost of the machine when new.

The LG service man who was last here acknowledged that there was a problem as he actually saw it on my clothes but told me that he could find no source for it so LG wouldn't replace the machine.

I have documented with pictures and sent two letters with another going out today; have researched online and found complaints of the same thing happening to other people; and called my own appliance repair company that I have used on other appliances. They told me they had a customer with the exact same problem. They went out and took her machine apart and they were not able to find the source of the problem either. The matter that is left on the clothes looks like white/tan specks all of the clothes or it comes out in big streaks and smears. In my conversations with each and every department they have given me tasks and advice that contradict the information in their own product manual.

I have run tub clean per their instructions many times. With product; with bleach; without anything; have had our water tested and drained our hot water heater. All to no avail. Terrycloth towels come out stiff and scratchy instead of soft and relatively fluffy. Most of the time, some parts of a pair of pants, for example, are not even wet when the wash is done. The problem, I think, is lack of water. It is impossible to get enough water into the (front-loading) machine to properly wash clothes - even when the extra water option is used. Way back when I lived in military barracks and used front-loading washing machines, the water level was generally a third to half way up the front 'window'. Not so with this LG machine. We found many other similar complaints online and contacted LG, only to be told that the rust is 'cosmetic'. Soon our bleach dispenser will be unusable. During a normal cycle, water runs through the bleach dispenser, so even if I stop using it for bleach, the rusty water will still enter the washer drum. The washer has been balanced numerous times as well. If I don’t monitor the situation it can take over 2 1/2 hours for a simple load of laundry to finish. I have also noticed a foul smell at times which necessitates the use of bleach and/or Lysol for cleaning the tub. Avoid if possible. Bought a washer and dryer pair. It arrived fine and the washer seemed to have mounted great. When it came time for the dryer after the installation, the dryer started giving errors about the ducks being blocked. First checked the actual installed duck work, that didn't help; then removed the dryer from atop the washer and removed the exhaust altogether, this also did not remove the issue. Started contacting the LG support, after some back and forth; reset the machine a couple of times and this also caused no breakthrough. They scheduled a technician to come in 3 days from then.

The day the service was supposed to be done, I took a day off work and had a 2 hr time slot. The time slot came and when with no technician. I've contacted the support again about why he did not show up. They provided me with no concrete reason as to why, and no explanation why they didn't even contact me about it. More back and forth on how to solve this issue and as it turns out they cannot even rebook me for another time slot; since there are no open slots. So now, I'm two weeks into not be able to use a dryer with no time that a technician can come in to fix it, and support who don't really care if this gets solved. All of this on a $2500 purchase of a brand new set. To summarize avoid buying LG.

Appearance: Red. (Love it). But, the letter/words that they use to mark which button do which, are about all worn off. The machines scratch easily. The door to the washer must be left open, so as to avoid the mildew smell. Sometimes upon opening the door, water will come out the front. Just a drizzle, right down the front of the machine. Crappy seals in my book. Oh, those are the seals that make me have to leave my washer door open. The machine is suppose to self-level. Not always true.

As far as it actually doing its job, half way only. I only use half the amount of HE soap it says because the machine will not rinse out all the soap. So much for energy efficient. This machine runs at least 2x the amount of time as the old ones do. And for what? To save water? Why? It uses double/triple the amount of electricity. Bring back the oldies, but goodies. Oh, last but not least, the soap tray where you put not only soap but fabric softener and bleach, NEVER NEVER NEVER is empty. It ALWAYS has water sitting in the bleach cup. And once in a while, I will find that the soap did not come out either. So tell me, what's so great about an LG? Oh ya... The long washer times that supposedly get your clothes cleaner? We have a had our LG washing machine and dryer now for approximately six years. My washing machine decided to break down and we have called several appliance repair shops and none of them want to work on LG. They say trying to get the parts for them is impossible and they are impossible to work on. I finally found one place that is willing to come out and look at it but they are giving me no guarantee. Last month our LG refrigerator had a spring break on the flapper part of the door. We called several appliance repair places. None of them wanted to work on it because it was LG. I finally talked one into coming out because it was only a spring, right? Well they couldn’t just replace the spring. The whole flapper had to be replaced. Much to our surprise the only flapper that was available took six weeks to get to us. And it cost $300 because a little tiny spring broke. Absolutely ridiculous!!!! We will never ever purchase an LG product again.

We had our washer for about 6 or 7 years. It did not clean clothes very well. About two month ago I started a load of laundry whenever our children went out to complete their outside chores (we live in the country). We still have 6 children at home, one is only 2 so he was in the house with me and our 17 year old. We heard a sound like a shotgun going off in the house. Our 17 year old and myself ran to see what it was, the washing machine literally blew up. Thankfully the children were out doing chores or someone's could have been seriously injured or killed...our babies high chair was thrown across the room and nearly broke the window. LG has done nothing! I called them immediately after we cleaned up the mess and all the water. They said I wouldn't hear back from them in two days...never heard a word back from them. Will not be purchasing any LG products again!

Wash machine about a year old died. Most of the time the machine washed clothes for a single man with a white-collar job. So very little clothing once every couple weeks and certainly not soiled at all. Service took 3 weeks to show up and then told the machine is junk by LG's own serviceman and then told part to fix it is discontinued! On a 1-year-old machine? Then constant runaround from LG about a proof of purchase (which I do not have). The machine was purchased at Best Buy with a Best Buy gift card so no credit card or check or other means of proof. Best Buy says they cannot trace gift card purchases.

The machine has a 10-year warranty and I only know this because LG told me I registered the machine with the serial number on October 10, 2017. THEY KNOW the machine was purchased and registered for the warranty! I didn't steal it! You cannot walk out of Best Buy with clothes washing machine hidden in your pants pocket! So they know when it was purchased and where it was purchased from. They (LG) have a record of all serial numbers and where they are delivered. Now they refuse to honor the warranty.

I have been doing laundry for 30 years and there really is nothing I like about this set. First and foremost, neither the washer nor dryer let you choose your settings. They have categories and it is what it is. Unfortunately they are terrible and don't work, e.g., nothing between normal and delicate. Does not get stains out unless you use 2 1/2 hour cycle with soak. Can't understand that one. Dryer same problem with settings. "More dry" is really almost dry. We purchased an LG WT4970CW washing machine in August 2014 from Best Buy. Shortly after using it, I noticed some of laundry would be dry on top, especially sheets. Sheets would be pulled tightly across top of drum and be completely dry - obviously were not touched by water and detergent. Then, on subsequent loads, the machine kept giving error message: UE which means the load is out of balance. Machine shuts off in middle of cycle and you have to open the lid, pull the laundry out and rearrange it, close lid and machine turns on again. However, during one load, this happened up to six times and it took me four hours to complete one load of laundry. I don't stand by the machine while it is doing its job, so when I would expect the laundry to be done, I would go to my basement only to see the UE displayed which meant it wasn't finished.

I had a repair person come to my home last week (10/2018). He called and spoke with an LG technical support person. He explained the problem and was told I was doing the laundry incorrectly. The LG agent told him I have to wash only like items at one time. In other words, if I have a load of jeans, tee shirts, polo shirts, men's underwear, socks, I need to sort the clothes and wash the jeans separate from the shirts, separate from the underwear and socks!!! The machine goes out of balance almost every time I wash two bath towels, one hand towel, and one washcloth along with a nightgown and some underwear. The LG agent said I should only be washing towels (up to six bath towels) at one time and nothing else.

This is not how REALITY works! It would take me a full day to do the equivalent of two loads of laundry. It would also defeat the purpose of the water-conserving feature of these new machines. I would need to do six tiny loads of laundry in place of my normal two loads. Also, I do not have enough clothing to wait until I have a full load of just underwear so it is a normal-sized load. I don't even have enough pants and shirts to wait until I have a full load of just pants to wash. This machine is only 4-1/2 years old and I have to replace it. I also bought the extended warranty, but was only offered a one-year extension for parts only. Of course, the warranty expired in August 2016.

The repair person said there were no parts to replace or would make sense to replace, because the cost of the repair would be almost the cost of a new machine with no guarantee it would fix the problem. He told me my complaints are very common complaints he has heard over and over from his customers regarding their LG machines. The repairperson highly recommended I buy a Speed Queen TR7000 which works almost the same way my 35-year-old Maytag washer worked and it comes with a seven-year materials and labor warranty. Can't wait to give the LG machine the heave-ho and get the Speed Queen machine! I will never buy ANY LG product as long as I live.

I have never in all my years of doing laundry (4 children) have ever had to sort clothes based on weight. Even with doing so, the load can take up to two hours to do. The spin cycle is awful and continues to repeat itself. It is quicker to dry a load of towels versus doing a load of wash with the LG. I have read many of the same complaints on this board. LG, you need to do something about this. I would never, ever recommend an LG product to anyone based on my experience with this one product. It is the absolute worst.

Even following all the instructions for keeping lid open and not leaving clothes in washer nothing changes the smell after a couple of days. LG CS is terrible, Lowe's CS is terrible. I was constantly having to babysit the machine, re-distributing the clothes over & over again just to finally get one load done, taking close to 2 hours sometimes longer just to do one load. A lot of times I could see dry spots on the clothing, or I could see that the clothing was not clean.

I had a repairman come who told me the issue was the computer software & that it would be better for me to replace this part rather than buying a whole new machine. I purchased the part & for a month I had no issues. Then the machine began to leak water from underneath, soaking my floor & also my dryer. Also, the dreaded “UE” code made a comeback, causing the machine to continue to refill with water repeatedly, start to spin, then flash the error code. I am so fed up with this machine that I have ordered a new Whirlpool with agitator just like I used to have. The second time it broke down was when the water would not wring out. My husband and I removed all the water and leaned it on its side. Black stuff puffed out and then it was gone. It was a sad day because we could not find anyone to repair it. I go to Home Depot where I experienced one problem after the other with the GE G154 washer but to keep me as a customer, they practically gave me the choice of their most expensive washers. Sadly, I settled on the LG WT1101CW washer and have had nothing but problems. With my old Kenmore washer, I did not purchase an extended warranty but with this LG, I thank God everyday that I did.

I purchased it January 10, 2014 and called for service August 5, 2015, August 17, 2015 and February 23, 2018; each time for balancing issues. At one point, it seemed as though it was non-repairable but somehow the repair person was able to get it to work again. During one of the service calls, the repair person tried to keep the lid from malfunctioning but as of Friday, September 14, 2018, the lid would not stop repeatedly clicking. To get through with my wash, my husband unplugged it and left it unplugged until today. Today, I was able to finish washing but this is ridiculous, as I should not have to keep unplugging it just to get it to work. The plus side, it cleans the clothes very well - when it is working. The con is you never know when it will work and for how long. Additionally, the con is it takes time from your schedule to continuously call repair people and in the meantime, your house is out of order and unorganized.

I don't even want to start talking about the washer bouncing around and not getting balanced. I had someone 3 times here to try to balance the machine so it does not make all this noise but then was told that my floor is not leveled and this is the best they can do. This is the worst machine ever and I feel I was ripped off! NEVER again a LG in my house!

We have had this machine for perhaps 2 years. I dislike that you cannot wash a very small load or ER, cannot add water first, and over the last many months have been constantly getting WE flags. Loads are now taking 2 to 3 hours to do if I don't stand by and monitor. I have tried all the simple fixes but today was the last straw. One set of king sheets, 4 pillow cases and 2 hand towels 6 ER flags so far 2:10 minutes, switched over to just spin after machine shut down and still got 2 ER flags. This machine does not clean any better than the past machines I've had without all the bells and whistles. I would take back my old Roper machine that ran for 16 years up to the time I sold my home and never broke once. In fact that is what I'll be doing in the near future back to a machine with no bells and whistles. LG I am sooo disappointed in this product.

We bought an LG washer one year ago. It started showing an error code last month. I called them, and the code is "undiagnosable". For more than 4 weeks, I have been fighting the customer service department, including the team in Philippines and USA. They have absolutely zero empathy and concern for the customer. They have not been able to get my issue fixed at all. And now I am fighting with them about replacement. They seem to have a 1000 different departments for everything, and seem to be extremely poor at coordinating. Also, everything that they tell you...is pretty much a lie!! They go back on it all the time. USA team seems to be even more horrible than the Philippines team!! SO, if your appliance goes bad, you should be ready for a fight and harassment. Not to mention, take a few days/weeks off, apply for FMLA!!! You will need all your day and your emotional and mental energy to get through this.

Bought the LG washer from Lowe's and for a few days it worked OK. It then started to vibrate across the floor in our laundry room. We called LG and they sent out a repairman and "repaired" the washer. It worked for about two loads and then vibrated again. Two different companies came out 4 more times to "repair" it over the next 3 months. None of those times did they fix the unit. After the 5th time the washer vibrated and flooded out laundry room. We called up LG again and they said they would issue a full refund.

The next day we went out and bought a Maytag washer with zero issue so far. To get the refund LG gave us a case number and a link to upload our proof of purchase. After not hearing from them for a month we called them up and said they have no record of them saying we would get a refund. Their customer service is a joke. They claim they have no record of 3 of the repairs and no record of saying they would refund the money for a lemon washer. I will never buy an LG product ever again and will let all my friend know that they should stay away also. We are out $800 for a washer that never worked from day one.

I’ve even used the extra rinse hoping to push the water out of the machine...and I waited 2 months for this machine because I wanted the granite color. Don’t understand. First full year no problem. We purchased brand new LG washer and dryer. After install on the very first wash cycle I heard an unusual sound only to find water pouring over our entire newly remodeled laundry room. The washer had a cracked hose in the internal compartment. We have spent many hours and many attempts to resolve this issue with LG. They have been very difficult to work with. Service people do not want to repair their machines so we are on week three with no ability to wash clothes after purchase of a new washer. LG has refused to replace the machine even though it was defective from the start. Save your time and especially money and DO NOT purchase from LG!!! I could not say it enough. They should not be in business as they do not know how to manage issues after purchase. Furthermore, they do not have a product worth purchasing.

To top it off our clothes smell like a moldy wet dog - from a few months of owning I can smell my husband's “clean” t-shirt across the room. Oh yeah add vinegar, bleach, leave door open, drain the drain, buy expensive tablets to clean every week, run a clean cycle - and use tons of water doing that. Save water? Not now. LG you need to step up your repair game & fix these things.

First review I have ever written but due to the inferior product this company has produced I feel it is absolutely necessary. We purchased this LG Top Loading Washer Model WT5070CW in Sept. 2014 after losing our Kenmore in a house fire. This machine sprung a leak and flooded our house wrecking our new engineered floor. The 5 yr. extended warranty was purchased but that only helps with the repair bill. Home Depot tried to go to bat for us to get our insurance deductible back but no luck. When the repairman came out he said it was one cap that had come unglued and per a call to his superiors he was told to simply glue the cap back on. This was their big fix.

First of all, why in the world is there only a glued on cap between the consumer and another very expensive flooded floor repair?! When the insurance company tried to work with them they said they doubted that is even what caused the problem... Really! I'm taking this lousy company to small claims but doubt it will do any good. I think what caused the cap to come off is the amount of shaking and rattling this washer goes through during spin cycles! Like all stated before me, don't buy any of their products - absolute garbage! And shame on Home Depot and other companies for continuing to sell their sub-par products!

I wrote a review maybe a year ago... same problem everyone had with the unbalanced load of the LG washer and no credible response by LG except... go pay a repairman to fix it. I read about 2 possible home-made cures... and one really works. Take an old throw-away bathroom hand towel, and fold it over and over to get it to a point where it can barely... BARELY... get wedged with all your might on top of the drum/cylinder in your washing machine and under the metal frame above it. I really struggled to get it in there... That is how tight it must be. Now do another towel... same way, for the opposite side of the machine. One towel is at (say) 9 o'clock and the other is at 3 o'clock. And don't worry that maybe 2+/-" of the towel hangs out over the inner portion of the tub... there should be an equal portion hidden out of sight to the other side of the top of the drum.

This way the towel can move a bit during a cycle and yet basically enough stays in place to absolutely keep the drum from rotating out of balance. That's it. While the towels might move a bit during a washing cycle and end up at 11 and 5 on the imaginary clock, as long as they are opposite each other, they work. Just check them after each cycle... Are they tight? Do they need to be re-wedged in there?

To help further, I have run the spin cycle only as high as medium. My first few cycles showed me that the towels were not wedged tightly enough in the opening, so be ready to re-do this part a couple of times until you realize how hard you have to work to get those two towels wedged into place so tightly that maybe there is not even room to push a quarter in above the towel. Be careful of your fingers as you do this... That is how tight I wedged these towels in!!! See photo. I have run maybe 20 loads since this cure was found online... and I have no more "UE" messages. I used to get a "UE" message every time I ran the machine!!!

LG WM3670HWA - Bought a new washer ($650) and installed in May 2017. Recently experienced squeaking noises during the spin cycle. Called LG. They sent out a technician to look at the machine. LG charged me $125 for the service call. The tech said that the rear bearing was defective. The cost to fix was estimated to be $500. However, the technician told me that LG discontinued the parts needed to fix the washer, so he couldn't fix it even if he wanted to. So I spent $650 on a washer and another $125 on a service call, to find out that a 14 month old washer is junk and cannot be repaired.

I called LG to try and resolve the issue. They refused to do anything AT ALL. I wasn't asking for a new washer or anything like that. I requested that they at least waive the $125 service call, since the washer couldn't be fixed. They refused to waive the service fee and gave me no concession on anything. It was really great at the end of the call to hear, "Have a wonderful day!" Seriously!!?? I never write reviews, but had to vent on this one. My bad for not buying an extended warranty, but they're bad for not even stocking parts to fix their lousy products. I will never buy an LG product again. I feel completely ripped off.

LG Washer/Dryer unit. Noticed water on floor, thought it was the washer. Repairman identified water coming from dryer. He was not able to fix the problem. Might add, we've passed the one yr. warranty and didn't purchase an extended warranty thinking back over 50 yrs of never having to call a W/D repair person. After some personal research discovered the water drain was not connected to the proper reservoir. Never saw a drop of water in the prescribed reservoir which means it was never properly installed at the factory or whatever reason LG can figure who to blame. They've given me some repair phone #'s. None service our area. Discovered that they have a very narrow presence for repair people. This is a BUYER BEWARE of LG. No service, poor and rude customer service and a phone number with a broken answering string.

In the meantime, LG has a duty and a responsibility to mitigate all damages and the Consumer Affairs Division of the State of California needs to look into a company that sells their products without providing a reasonable method of getting repair service. Their star deserves a huge Zero. I bought both items at Home Depot and they could not give me a repair person for LG. Right now we're stuck with having an expensive dryer that doesn't work. Carting a basket of wet laundry to dry outside is a huge inconvenience for an 80 yr. old.

Repairman calls back over a week ago and asks if we would take compensation from LG in lieu of the part. The part will be on backorder longer than anticipated. He told me that LG would be calling. BAD WASHER. I had a Frigidaire washer that lasted 15 years without a problem. Then, I purchased the LG top load washing machine. It constantly goes "UE" (uneven). I have to monitor it, or it refills and waste gallons of water trying to fix the "UE" . It loses its mind and sets more time, usually 11 minutes, and then it would refill with water again and again. Clothes never spun out completely. I can say this is the worse machine I have ever owned. It goes out of balance so many times during the wash cycle that it takes hours to wash a load. It keeps filling with water trying to rebalance itself, and I ultimately end up stopping it with the clothes still wet because it will not spin them out. LG told me I have to have repair people out 3 times for same issue before they consider replacing it. Still waiting for an “out of stock part”… three weeks. This is unacceptable! I have already told people that I will never buy an LG product.

OE again. Nothing in filter this time. We called LG. They try to walk us through the problem and could not get it to work. They called a repair person. It took 3 weeks for service. He was still in our driveway. He went to work on it again. He never took the top off to look inside. 10 mins later he said, "Ok it's fixed." Went to do his paperwork. 13 mins into cycle OE. He had left.

We called and said same thing was happening. Repairman came back 2 hours later. Never took the top off. Said it's fixed. Left 13 mins later. OE. Call shop closed. Next day repair shop said it will be 10 days for new repair person. Same guy came out. He's mad now. Pulled plug on the drain and flooded my floor hardwood. Never ever came to tell us. Took his shop vac and dump the dirt on my front lawn. I have pictures. All area rug soaked. 20 min no top off it's fixed. He left. I called LG to tell them of our problem. After 23 calls and at least an hour on hold a piece they agreed they would send a new repair person. New repair person was to come on Saturday. No showed. I called him all day. At 5:30 he returned my call and said he never set an appt. with LG to come. He said he could come in an hour 6:30 at 7:30. John came was at our house for 2 mins. Said he new the problem and would order the part.

1 week later no news. Call LG. They can't help me. I need to call John repair guy. No answer from him. Days pass calling LG and John. Nothing. Weeks later John calls to say he never got the part. I call LG. They say he never requested it. LG said they need a part number to check on it and I would have to get it from John. Called John. No answer. Called LG. Nothing they can do. 2 weeks of daily calls to LG on hold about any hour on avg. John calls me finally the day after LG told me they were going to refund me for the washer and told me he had the part and was coming on Mother's Day to put it in 7 am. I told him we had church and brunch at 9 am. He assured me he would be there. He showed up at 9 am. We did not make church or brunch.

30 mins spent to not taken off. He cleaned the filter and said LG sent him the wrong part but the washer was working. It did work for 4 loads then OE code again. Called LG. Still no refund or replacement or a washer that works. I don't know what to do. We have lost 5 days of work. Over 200 hour on the phone with LG. 45 min one way to nearest laundry at $60 a week. And hundreds of hour of our lives.
