I submitted a warranty claim using their online claim form. It even went as far as telling me who was coming out, and asking for a date that I would like the service, and asking for an alternate date. The date came and went, no service man. I then contacted LG back and guess what? My washer dryer is now out of warranty (it wasn't when I submitted the claim) and I have to purchase an extended warranty if I want it worked on. They would not budge and all but called me a liar that I submitted the original claim.

I purchased an LG front loader washing machine 5 years ago. Within this period of time, I have replaced the motor, several sensors and the main computer board. LG reports that 98% of their customers do not have these types of problems and they will not warrant their product after 12 months. I would not buy another LG washing machine again. The customer service, as well as the warranty, is terrible. Consequences: replaced motor and leaking tub rusted out the internal structure of the machine.

I, too, had mold & mildew growing inside my washer. No one told me I had to keep the door open when not in use. They especially didn't explain anything negative when I was purchasing the washer. I never had to do that with a top-loading washer. There was also a mildewy smell in our clothes.
The repairman from Best Buy told me that if I would put two tablespoons of dishwasher detergent inside the washer (where you put your clothes), and fill the bleach dispenser full with bleach, then run a normal load, it would eliminate the odor. I tried it while he was there because there was no way he was leaving unless it worked. Believe it or not, it worked. The smell was gone. He also told me to use Zud cream cleanser for the mildew on the rubber lining inside the washer. It removed a lot of the mildew but not all. He said I should do this about once a month to keep the odor away.
As for the small door on the bottom left, what can I say? It's disgusting! I have to shove three to four towels under the washer before I open it to clean it. It leaks everywhere! You have to clean this at least every other month.
I feel that all I did when I purchased this washer was add more work for my self. I have never had to clean a washer like this before. It's enough to make me want to sue LG for fraud and misrepresentation of their product.

I'm a regular user of LG products, and they work fine. I had purchased an LG frontloading washing machine (model no -WD -80485NP, serial no - WD6-710PNHN009249). After 4-5 months, my clothes are not getting a quality wash. It's like they're not being cleaned. I had registered complaints at the service center many times but to no avail. I believe the engineers at LG service division are not well up to mark to solve the consumer problems.
Nearly 10-15 of them who had come out for repair suggested a new washing method (like use same type of cloths, pre-heating water, pre-wash). Others suggested cotton, hand wash only or do the quick 30. They even suggested running the machine without clothes for at least 30 minutes before every wash. One gave a good suggestion of cleaning air filter. With that, we achieved little but did not solve the problem completely.
When I registered a complaint at the service center, they assured me of resolving the issue within 24 hours; but they never kept their words. I'm fed up of calling the support team. At times, I feel like I'm begging for their service. They would give out a different complaint ID every time I call and say the same thing. Hence, I have decided to stand by my rights as a consumer and instead of begging, I'm taking them to consumer court for justice.

I purchased an LG washer and dryer end of Sept. 2007. In Sept. 2008, I reported on LGE's website customer service that the clear plastic display on front of both washer and dryer had cracked. I also reported that the washing cycles menu was washing away due to defective ink. They disregarded my email. Today, when I can almost no longer see the washing cycle menu, I contacted them again, this time by live chat. They don't want to acknowledge receipt of previous two emails (one for washer and one for dryer) on September 2008 (I have copies). They claim it is cosmetic and are not willing to replace it under warranty. The quality of the product (the plastic and the ink used for the menu selector) was of extremely poor quality and these are to very pricey items.

I bought an LG Tromm washer and dryer from Home Depot nearly 2 years ago. The washer smelled of mold the first 6 months, plus I had to replace the electrical panel the first 2 months of purchase. I was without a washer for about 1 1/2 weeks (parts not in stock) and now I have a cracked dryer drum. It's eating our clothes up! LG will do nothing to help us. I should have kept my old set. Very, very disappointed in LG. I will never buy another LG product. Never! Can anyone help?

We purchased an LG washer and dryer set 2 years ago for about $2,400. When the dryer was about 20 months old, it started to make a loud thumping noise. We finally figured out that the dryer drum was cracking at the seam where it was welded. We called LG to see if they would help with the repair since the dryer was not even 2 year old, but they refused any help because they only warranty it for 1 year. I tried to explain that the drum on a 2 year old, $1,000 dryer should not crack in less than 2 years. But they still will not help with the repair.
I also found many internet blogs with other LG customers who have experienced the same problem with no LG remedy. LG needs to acknowledge the poor manufacturing of the dryer drum, in how it is welded. They need to stand behind their product and help their customers experiencing this problem with an affordable repair. A $400.00 repair on a 2 year old dryer is unaffordable to us. We would have been better off buying a cheap dryer. It would have lasted a lot longer. I will never purchase or recommend another LG appliance again. Their customer service has been poor as well as their product.

We, too, bought the LG front loader washer and dryer. We have had ours for about a year and a half. I agree with the complaints regarding the smell issue of the front loader washer and how terrible it shakes. My dryer is especially dissatisfying. It is supposed to be an energy efficient product but we have to rerun the load 3 to 4 times before it dries. We put it on the highest setting and it still does not dry.

We purchased a washer/dryer set from Best Buy on 2/2/08 and was delivered to our home a few days later. I have a little problem with the dryer not lighting up within the first week, but while I was on the phone with Best Buy for repair, it finally lit. On 3/3/09 or thereabout, the dryer would not come on again but it did light up. I could not get anyone on the phone at LG so I had to wait until the following work day. We had the unit tested per their diagnostic tests but wrote LG at that time on the Internet. They outright refused to help because the unit was one month out of warranty.
Two new main control boards have been ordered and replaced which fix the problem of not coming on but did not light up, which makes using the dryer completely impossible. Both boards have been returned and we have spent over $300 at this point trying to fix this basically brand new dryer. Nobody knows what to do to fix it and I can't get LG to assume responsibility. This was not an inexpensive dryer and I believe I could expect it, being brand new, to work well past the warranty period. I have asked if we can now get a warranty and they have told me no!
This seems like a fraudulent situation selling dryers that don't work when first delivered and then break within the month after warranty is up. I believe this is called programmed obsolescence. It is unfair and leaves us with a completely new, useless dryer.

I purchased an LG Steam Washer WM2688H*M in 01/2007. I have been having trouble with the digital control panel. During one cycle, the digital reading stated the cycle was rinsing with 27 minutes remaining in the cycle. The machine signaled the end of the washing cycle and beeped that the cycle was complete even with the digital reading stated the cycle was rinsing with 27 minutes remaining. I immediately called the LG Consumer Center and explained the problem. The representative stated that since it was three months past the warranty and they would not assist me. I explained the problems started well in the warranty period, but the representative stated they would not assist me.

I purchased an LG Tromm Washing Machine less than 2 years ago. I started noticing a bad odor after about 6 months. I called customer service after about 6 more months, and they made it sound like it was my fault since I wasn't cleaning the machine on a regular basis. I thought it was kind of stupid that I had to clean a washing machine since I have had other machines over the past 20 years that have required no maintenance. However, I did all the things that were suggested and the odor remained. I have noticed that there is black mold on the inside rubber and there is always a puddle of water remaining after each load. It has also collected a nice gunky, stringy glop of stuff in the same area.
I am sick of the smell, and I don't think I should have to invest money in replacing the inner rubber seal when the washer is practically new and the cost was over $1,000. The washer also makes a terrible noise when it is in the spin cycle (no matter how large or small the load). It sounds like the machine is out of balance even though I have checked it with a level. The third thing is that the bleach cup does not completely empty during the load and therefore more bleach drips into the next load and ruins the clothes that are washed next. I have been very careful not to overfill the cup making sure the bleach was well below the full line. As others have experienced, I have had no luck with customer service the two times I have contacted them. I would like to be notified of any legal action that takes place regarding this problem.

I bought a front loading LG washer and dryer in August of 2007. I've had no problems until today when I received the OE message. It turns out I'm the idiot who washed a down comforter which apparently had a hole in it so my drain filter is clogged. I can't quite blame LG for that. I've had no issues with mold or mildew. I leave the washer door open after washing a load because, duh(!), if you leave it closed, of course, mold and mildew are going to grow. It's a dark wet environment. The same thing would happen in an upright washer if the lid sealed completely. Follow the instructions in the user manual and you should have no issues with the LG washer.
I have no problem with the LG dryer except sometimes if I leave it on a normal dry cycle and specify I want the clothes a normal amount of dry, they don't get dry. This is supposed to be an energy saving feature (so the dryer doesn't continue to operate after the contents are fully dry) but apparently the sensor is a little off. No problem - remedy this by using the speed dry setting & select my own time amount and heat setting if I'm concerned about a load being totally dry.
Of course some of these complaints on this website seem warranted, but the majority of them appear to be user errors (maintenance and operation) and LG can't be held accountable for that.

My husband purchased the LG front loader washing machine 2 years ago for $1000 from our local Home Depot. I have had problems with it from the beginning. I get repeated error codes, such as LE and UE and then the washer stops and water collects in the bottom and it doesn't spin. I have called LG Customer Service probably 15 times over the last two years and they cannot seem to produce service repairmen. My machine will start working from time to time if I drain all the water out from the bottom of the filter area. The machine cannot seem to handle spinning more than two towels at a time. The customer service representatives never offer any satisfaction or solutions, so I have now taken the matter back to the manager at our local Home Depot where it was purchased. The tub collects mildew in the rubber tubing and there is a smell all the time. This is a flawed product and LG should offer all who have called repeatedly some solution.
I have spent hours a day, probably twice a week, draining the water out of the machine, by hand, because it won't spin and the motor does not seem strong enough. This is not acceptable for a $1000 machine.

I bought a front-loading LG Tromm washer and dryer two years ago. I have had nothing but problems with them both! I have been looking online for help to fix the washing machine that doesn't work more often than it does! LG has been worthless in the way of any help! The comments I ran across at this website brought me to the couch with a heavy sigh! I, too, have the disgusting sewer smell! I get error messages at the spin cycle that I cannot figure out the cause of nor can LG! I spent a lot of money on these appliances and have had zero support for all the problems with these appliances. I do five or more loads of laundry daily! Without a $2,000 washing machine that functions, the time spent on laundry has gone from two hours a day to five or more! Thanks a lot, LG. Thanks a lot.

We purchased an LG washer which has broken down 2 times in 2 years. Spare parts cannot be kept in stock. When the repairman opened the part, he ordered to fix the washer. He found the part was torn resulting in our washer not being repaired. The product has not lived up to the quality good life experience that we had been led to believe. We are now 3 weeks with no washer and the extra expense of running to the laundry mat. Sad as it may be, LG customer service can only provide lip service with nothing getting resolved for their consumers. I will never purchase another LG product no matter what Consumer Reports says. I will make sure I tell everyone not to purchase LG. First, a washer should hold up much longer than 2 years, especially for the money they charge. Secondly, when repair is needed, service should be fast and courteous in order to retain loyal customers.

I own the LG WM2032HW front load washing machine. I keep the door open to air out the machine, but still have mold inside the seal as it does not drain properly. Anyone thinking about buying a front load washer should check the design of the front seal for proper drainage. The LG models are very poor at water drainage and leave mold and smells that get into the clothes. I would never buy another LG washer again. There should be a class action suit on this brand.

I purchased an LG washer and dryer from Best Buy. After about 3 months, HORRIBLE smell comes from the washer. I called Best Buy and LG twice. I was told by both that regular maintenance was required to fix the problem, which consisted of me purchasing 2-3 packages of Affresh tablets at $10/each per month, which basically just cover up the odor!! NOWHERE in the owner's manual is this written. I explained that this is a design flaw by LG. Water is being left under the drum and it lays stagnant and smells. Why am I responsible to spend $300-$400 a year to deodorize a $1,100 washing machine? Class action lawsuit needed!!!

LG Tromm washing machine does not work after just a few years. Many customers have the exact same problem. If you spin the drum, the machine to remove a piece of clothing, the next time you go to wash a load, the machine will kick out a trouble code of LE and stop working. LG knows about this condition but does nothing to fix the problem. This machine breeds mold and stinks. I leave mine open but we have been hurt by the door hitting us as we go by the machine. It does not spin out the clothing properly and so you waste time and money having to redo the cycle. I hate this machine so much that I am throwing it out and buying a new machine. I have had it a total of 3 years and 3 months. I bought this machine and a matching dryer (which is not much better) at Home Depot.

I too have the problem with the horrible odor in the washing machine. $150.00 to the repairman even though this was covered under warranty. Now the washer has just completely died - no power, nothing. When I called LG, they said it is not under warranty and I could call anyone I wanted to fix it. The only name they could give me was located in Salisbury, NC - at least 150 miles away. The last washer and dryer I had was 25 years old. I gave it to my brother who is still using it. Bought an LG stackable washer and dryer in October '07. Our kitchen remodeler installed it in December. The dryer did not work on installation. We informed LG and they sent a repairman a few weeks later. He said it was the motherboard. It worked for about 4 months, but then stopped drying the clothes. Called LG again and they suggested we were not using the right cycle or we had screwed it up by using dryer sheets. OH NO. After 4 phone calls trying all the troubleshooting things, they sent a repairman again who said the heat element was gone. Okay, so he ordered that and when he replaced that, the dryer still did not work. He said, "Oops, I think the motherboard is bad too!" NO WAY.
So we called LG again, who said they had no record of any previous repair for us. HOLD ON NOW! Seems they track you by your phone number. Anyway, 2 months have gone by now and the repairman shows up again with the motherboard and the heating element, AND THE DRYER DOES NOT WORK!!! He says, "Well, I think the wiring harness is bad too!!!" So here we sit 3 months later waiting for another part to arrive. I don't have a problem with the smell because we leave the door open after the wash is done, but it is dangerous. My beautiful cat Ashley suffocated in the washer. My mother did not see her in there and closed the door on her. Ashley was everything to me. I had a Maytag Neptune for 13 years and never had to keep the door open because of the smell. My aunt has an LG washer too, and she complains that her clothes and washer smell. My 6-year old had to see Ashley dead in the washer and his mother hysterical and crying. There should be a saftey latch on it to keep it open just enough to let air in, so it won't smell.

I purchased an LG Digital Washer, Model #WM3677HW on 12/31/06. I started to get this weird message displayed, UE, back on 5/08/06 and a couple of times in 2007. I did not know what it was, but the machine still works. More problems persisted in 2008. This time, it is displaying LE, which means Overload. I can assure you it was not overload. I usually use the speed cycle function. At this time, it no longer works on that cycle. So I have to use other cycles. After using other cycles for a while, it started not to work. Finally, the power just didn't come on anymore.
My uncle is a handyman and tried to inspect the problem. Immediately, he saw the Circuit Board blew out. I used to have a Kenmore washer that lasted about 10 yrs. How in the world does the state of the art washer that cost more money, barely last for three years?! Now I have to purchase a new circuit board not under warranty. You have to order part(s) from one of their three service centers: (1)Vance Baldwin, (2) MCM Electronics and (3) Andrews Electronics. LG's corporate office is located in Alabama of which they only provide warranty work.
On top of that, their customer service dept. lacked training on proper procedure & upper management does not want to return your calls. And when you do speak to the supervisor named Symone **, she is rude and not informative. I asked to be transferred to the Technical Dept. to find out if this is a normal problem; she replied that their Corporate Office did not have a Technical Dept.. What company does not have a Technical Department? At this point, I called MCM Electronics, where I had ordered a NEW Circuit Board and asked if this is a normal problem. Sean ** said that it was NOT a normal problem and they have a lot problems w/ LG washers.
MCM only gives a 90-day warranty for the circuit board. The warranty is not a substantial amount of time. I came across one of my friends who had the same problem. She had to order a new circuit board and within a year, it blew out again. This Washer is NOT a good product, nor is the warranty. I would NOT recommend for anyone to purchase LG products. I have an LG front-loading washer (WM0742HWA) which was purchased last July. Regarding the odor problem that many people report, I think it's due to water not being able to drain completely from the washer. I drain the water after every load (or after the last load of the day) via the tube next to the lint catcher and drain about 16 oz. of water each time. I also leave the door open overnight. With these two actions, there isn't a problem with odor. It's an inconvenience to drain the washer after each load. But the washer does a good job cleaning so I'm willing to put up with it.

I bought an LG front loader washer and dryer in October of 2005. I was not informed, like most of you, that there were any issues regarding the mold, mildew and smell from the washer. After only a couple of months, I noticed the awful odor. I called LG and they told me to run a wash cycle with Clorox, I did. It didn't work. I was told to use REFRESH tablets once a month, I did. It didn't work. I was told to run a wash cycle with Cascade on the hottest water with an extra rinse cycle, I did. It didn't work. I was told to leave the door open and dry the rubber seal after every wash; I do but the smell remains.
I can never shut the door. If I do, the smell is absolutely unbearable. My laundry room is small so the door always being open is a problem. I have to tie a shoe string around the hook on the door and attach it to a hook that I have pasted on the side of the machine. It doesn't seem right that you have to babysit a machine that cost over $1,400. Not only that, but I have to schedule laundry. There is no way that you can put a load of laundry in to wash and walk out the door. No!!! You have to make sure that you are there to take it out as soon as it's done so that the horrific smell doesn't attach itself to any more clothes. I have already had to throw away countless towels and wash rags and replace them.
Therefore, my laundry is more behind than ever with this new, top of the line machine!! I emailed a couple of attorneys today to check on some class action lawsuits against LG. Hopefully, the courts will do what they need to do!! If not, I think I still may have to suck it up and send these two out the window and buy an old school top loader that won't let me down!! What a costly mistake!! Don't buy a front loader of any kind, especially an LG!

You know, with all due respect, people need to read their manuals. It clearly states that after washing you should a) wipe the seal dry with a paper towel (optional), and leave the door ajar so the tub and rubber gasket can dry out. Once dry, close it; and b) run the washer through a tub clean cycle (bleach optional if you have really hot water) once every few weeks.
The fact is the washer is built so solid and so air tight that if you consistently close the door before it dries out, the water and leftover microbes will do what nature always does in a warm, moist environment - spark the rapid growth of stinky, smelly, grimy, gray mold! When the door is closed and the gasket is still wet, that dang washer becomes the biggest science experiment around.
And the LE error code? Again, RTFM. It happened to us as well. This is BY DESIGN! You are being told to clean out the filter. It happens when the filter at the bottom becomes clogged with debris. You simply use the teeny, built-in hose to drain any remaining water, pull out the filter, clean out the paper/hair/wrappers, rinse and return. Or better yet, clean out the filter, one way or the other, every month or so as the manual recommends.
Unlike older washers, this one doesn't send the debris down the drain and into the water system. Instead, the gunk ends up in a filter, so you can dispose of it in the rubbish, where it's supposed to go, instead of in your water system. This should be no surprise as the washer is advertised as eco-friendly. The Tromm is a great machine. It's like a Ferrari, powerful, top-of-the-line, but it's not for everyone. You have to maintain it if you want it to continue to be a high performer.

Not to mention a day off work for them to come out and tell me what I already knew was wrong, as it's the LE code again and the same thing... The last load of wash is left in a ton of water with a flashing LE code. Drain the water, unplug the unit, plug it back in, waste more soap/water as it fills and tries to spin but just hums. Drain it, unplug it, and call for service. Get the parts number, be told it's weeks to get the parts and call GE Escalated Service number.
They can get the parts, but this time they won't overnight them. They will ship them to my home in 5-7 days. Whereby when I receive the parts, I can call the service company back out... who only services in my area on Mondays/Thursdays - no exceptions. Thank goodness for the supervisor Dwana (spelling) who was able to get the parts overnighted again after a 5-minute hold. Now to receive the parts and try to schedule ANOTHER day off for them to be replaced, so my 7-year-old can have a clean uniform for scouts and basketball. We purchased an LG washer & dryer from Best Buy on 2.2.08. The washer is covered with black mold. We have flushed it out and rinsed it with bleach as instructed by the manufacturer. On Dec. 31, 2008, we were advised not to use it and someone from service would come out. The service company contracted was Edward's Appliances in Sewell, NJ. Their tel. # is 856-218-1299. The appt. was set for 1.2.09. They never came out; rather, they called to say they would order a new gasket, the same part that is causing the problem. We called the manufacturer. They assigned a case number but we cannot get a reply from them. I have asked to have the washer replaced. This is a health issue.

We bought an LG washing machine and LG dryer in 01/2007 (2 years ago). I smelled mold a couple of months after we purchased the set... and subsequently found a ton of mold that had grown on/in/around the rubber gasket. Surprisingly enough, mold had grown that the rubber gasket was stained. I contacted LG twice during the one-year warranty regarding this matter and was basically told that I needed to wipe the washer down after every use, leave the door open and use a chlorine bleach solution.
I use HE laundry detergent (as recommended). I leave the door open. I wipe down the gasket after almost every use. I apply the chlorine bleach solution with a tooth brush every other month. I have stopped using softener. Nothing is working! And as of two weeks ago, my dryer started ticking (when used)! The ticking went away after about 3-4 days... only to be replaced by a LOUD methodical thumping (when used). A repair person told me last week that the drum has a crack in it... The drum is coming apart at the seam!!!!!!

In November of 2005, we bought an LG front loader washer and dryer from Home Depot (that store has since closed). The washer was a model WM1814CW. We had the code LE problem several times in the first year. The unplugging routine provided a temporary fix. The Saturday before Thanksgiving last year (2008), we got the LE problem again. This time the unplugging routine and other methods did not work. We had called LG customer services several times during the life of the unit. This time after repeated calls, they acknowledged the need for service call. The authorized service representative is Prater Service in Lexington. They will not come to my house. It is 4 miles out of their area. They will, however, drive by my house to service a unit in a town 8 miles away. LG had no response to that. LG told me to call anybody I could to fix the unit.
On Monday, I called Home Depot and spoke to Cindy. She made several calls and called me back to confirm everything that I had said. She said that she talked to Prater Service and explained that they drive by my house to get to another town. Finally, I got an old line appliance dealer that I had bought from in the past to come. They found a problem with the drum motor. The drum motor is still under warranty. LG, however, will not ship the drum motor to the dealer or me. Neither of us is an authorized repair shop. So there we stand. I faxed LG all the invoice information yesterday to a less than polite customer service(?) representative. He promised to look into the issue. G R E A T company...

I purchased an LG Washing Machine (model #WM2455HW) from Home Depot. It smells horrible. I have done many things to try to make it smell better to no avail. My clothes smell awful. I am at a loss. I feel like this is ruining my family's clothes. Not to mention I will probably have to buy a new washer.

I bought an LG Tromm washer on 04/03/06 from Best Buy - Big Mistake. I also purchased the AG extended warranty. The machine quit working the first part of Nov. 08. A service man came to the house and said the stator was bad and they would have to order a new one. Since that time, they have made 5 appointments to fix it and here it is 2 months later and it is still not repaired.

Bought LG washer/dryer at Home Depot in 2006. From the beginning, the unit had problems and giving an error code LE. Phone service recommended several actions (draining, cleaning filters, etc.), but the only thing that works is to unplug the washer, push the power button for 5 seconds, wait 15 seconds, then plug the unit back in.
Lately, the door has been banging during spin cycle. I thought it was an unbalanced drum. I called LG service and they gave me the name of a local appliance service company. The technician took the machine apart and recommended that I replace the control board for $$$. I said that we have had that problem since we got the machine and it is fixed by unplugging it. He said that didn't work, but when he tried it, the machine worked. I asked him to look at the problem that he was called for - the door noise. He determined that the door latch was broken and that it would cost $270 to replace it. I have decided to hold the door in place with a wedge until we can get a new washing machine.

I purchased an LG Washer/dryer from HHGregg almost two years ago. I have had service calls on both units. The washer stinks, as so many other people have mentioned, and I always have to leave the door open when it isn't in use. I always wipe out the gasket, but sometimes my laundry room smells like sour water.

Since a week or two after I purchased my washer, it has smelled like mildew, and so does everything that I wash in it. I have cleaned the inside of the drum and the door. Also it started draining with the little robber house after washing. None of this helps. Yesterday, I put two lightweight cotton curtains in to wash, and the drum started to make a scratching sound, and the washer turned off and gave me error readout of LE. There is only one person living in my home, so I don't think I could have worn it out already! Also, the washer takes much longer to wash a load of laundry than my top loader. I wish I had kept my 12-year-old Kenmore washer instead of giving it to my son. He has been using it for 3 years with no problems.

Mold, mold, mold and obnoxious smell since we purchased our front load LG washing machine three years ago. Wasn't aware of a class action initiated against LG until today, when shopping for a new LG dryer and was advised by a salesperson from Sears Canada. Who is handling Canadian class action? Molds get into your clothes every time you wash another load. You can't close the door because without the air to circulate and dry, the mold grows worse and if you open the door to allow the washer to dry out, you become sick and nauseated.

I purchased an LG Washer & Dryer in March of 2007. In February of 2008, the board went bad. I had Best Buy out; they said it was still under warranty, so they ordered the part and came back a week later to install it. In August of 2008, the board went out again. I called Best Buy. They said that it was out of warranty (even the new one they replaced 6 months ago). My husband ordered the part and installed it himself. Now, January 2009, the board is bad yet again.
I contacted LG directly this time and told them the problem, but all they say is that it is out of warranty (one year from date of purchase). I explained to him that we have replaced the board and aren't those parts under warranty, but he just kept telling me it was one year from the date of purchase. I asked to speak to a supervisor and was told that it wasn't going to change the answer but he would connect me. I waited on hold for at least a half an hour and no one came on the line. Shouldn't this company be held responsible for their faulty parts???

I've owned an LG Tromm front-loading washing machine and matching dryer for almost two years now. They have both been very solid performers, and I have not had a single incidence of oil staining, gasket mold or musty water, error codes or any need for servicing. I wipe down the inside of the door after I'm done washing for the day and leave the door open for a few hours to help it dry out. I can then close the door and leave it closed until the next wash needs to be done. I've never had to drain the water pan, and have never had the machine shut down during a wash.
The washing machine does such an excellent job spinning the clothes at the end of the cycle that my dryer typically takes only 30 minutes to completely dry the wash. I've been using Ecos HE liquid laundry detergent (100 oz. bottle for $7, good for 100 washes) without any problems and with excellent cleaning results. I've heard complaints about front-loading washers leaving clothes smelling of mildew, as many people complain about on this site, but I've always chalked it up to user error as my experience has been so drastically different. I'm very satisfied with my purchase of the LG Tromm washer and dryer set from Sears and fully expect many more years of outstanding performance.

I bought an LG washing machine a year and a half ago. Recently, the machine started to display an error code and wouldn't spin out the clothes. The washer is not under manufacturer's warranty. However, we purchased the extended warranty from Home Depot. While trying to get the machine repaired, we found out there are no authorized service repair people in our area. Three weeks later, the machine is still not repaired. LG won't even talk to us, or offer the name of the closest service center. This is a warning to all who are considering buying LG products. Home Depot has tried to work with us but to no reasonable outcome. This is a warning to anyone considering buying an LG product, DON'T!!!!!!!!!!

I bought new washer from Conn's in San Antonio. The washer broke 9 times in the 1 year we owned. It had a smell that would not go away. I had all types of service done - replaced parts, hoses, door gasket. We had to throw away 4 loads of clothing due to the smell. I was told I would have to wash one load a week of bleach and then undo the door on the bottom and drain the machine every time we were done using it. We did run the bleach, leave the door open and spend a large amount of money on odor removers. I refuse to crawl on the ground to disconnect the hoses and drain stinky water on a weekly basis for a product I paid 1400 dollars for plus purchased a 400-dollar warranty. Neither Conn's nor LG would stand up for their product and took all this money for us for a product that I had to replace because it was unusable and ruined clothes.

I bought an LG Front Load washer model 7042HWA on Nov. 28, 2008. After 3-4 washes, the machine went dead. I called PC Richardson where I bought the machine. A technician came and said that "quick connect" had come off and fixed it and left. I did one load and machine died right after. After a lot of haggling with LG, another technician came after a week and fixed the same thing with tape and left. Story repeated itself after one more wash. I was on the phone again fighting with LG. Third time, another technician comes and binds the quick connect with plastic bundler and machine did one load and is totally dead again. It would not even power on. LG will not replace the machine. We have to take time off for them to come and take a look at the machine each time. I've not done washing in a month. I'm agitated and BP is up talking to rude LG customer service. According to them, unless it's not serviceable, they will not replace. I'll give them one more last chance next week.

I purchased my first front loader. I was so excited to watch my clothes wash and that was the beginning of my nightmare. First, I wasn't told about special HE detergent so my clothes began to smell worse than before I washed them. So I called LG and I changed soap. Problem still existed. So I called LG and they said I have to wipe down gasket and clean the door after each use. Problem still existed. I called LG and was informed I had to leave my door open to dry out the washer. Problem still existed. I called LG and was told I had to drain the bottom of the washer at least once a month to get the foul water off the bottom that just sits there. When you do this, there is no way to catch water; it just drains all over floor drenching an entire bath towel and spreading the smell everywhere. Problem still existed. I called LG and was told a new product came out AFFRESH that would solve my problem.
Now I am wiping my door and gasket every day, using special soap, cleaning out the bottom of the drain for the washer and running an empty washer through a cycle with another product that I have to pay for all to wash my clothes. This has helped but I'm not totally satisfied. After a year of owning my washer, I had an appliance repair company come to take a look at my washer just because of the hassle and they suggested I change the entire gasket; it was causing the smell problem which was 200-300 dollars, so I did.
I thought it would finally be better but now the main support bracket has somehow mysteriously broken off and is not supporting the washer tub any more. I just received a call from the appliance repair company and it is estimated to costs 450 dollars with nothing being covered by warranty. My washer is just two years old and I spent 1400 dollars to buy the newest and the best washer and now I need to get a new one so as not to keep pouring more money into a bad product.
The next problem is that I have a stackable unit and either can't fit another kind of washer with my working dryer because the stack kit will probably not work with any other product or I buy both new washer and dryer. I require a stackable unit due to space constraints. If you have any idea what kind of product (washer) other than LG stackable unit would fit with my LG dryer, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks for listening!

LG washer WM2487HRM - I spoke to a representative about the mold between the gasket and tumbler. I have tried bleach, Lime Away and the cleaner they sell. I cannot get the mold or smell out. LG says maintenance is necessary. Nowhere in my book does it discuss mold being an issue or having to maintain the gasket. I have followed the other cleaning procedures for cleaning the filters out. I came home from a week's vacation and the smell was double what it normally is. LG cites no defect in the machine. I did notice the newer ones come with more drain holes in the rubber seal as well as the tumbler. Why change it if there is no problem? I bought the extended warranty and will see what Best Buy says they can do.

I, like many, purchased an LG front loader washer and dryer. I have owned them for three years and have had nothing but problems with them. Our washer just died and finding someone to service the product is next to impossible. After reading all the customer complaints on this site, I feel relieved that I am not alone. Everything that everyone has described about their LG washer/dryer I have experienced. I can say I will never buy LG again and will tell as many people as I can not to buy LG!
