I purchased a dishwasher in September '08 and have had five service calls since then and it's still not fixed. I sent all documentation to LG for refund or replacement and was denied. LG states the washer is fixed which is not correct according to us or the service centers. LG says the service centers say it is fixed when if fact the service centers says there is nothing else they can do with the dishwasher. Customer service is appalling, rude on the phone to us as well as with the service people.

Door latch assembly failed before 3 years were up, but after the 2-year warranty. This is a cheaply made plastic part for an expensive dishwasher. The replacement has been reinforced so obviously, they know there is a problem with this part. They choose not to alert anyone about this and hope you go barely out of warranty before you have to replace, so they don't have to and don't do a recall. Amazing that you can spend a lot of money for an appliance and the simplest part fails and does not allow the dishwasher to operate at all. Repair cost $112.08 and numerous phone calls and faxes to customer service with no results.

I bought five LG appliances in November of 2005, and we have had the dishwasher repaired twice. I replaced two drawer covers, one shelf, and currently have two broken door closer clips on the refrigerator. I took the front loading washing machine apart to clean the build-up of gunk on the drum and inside the plastic seal around the drum. Our microwave shorted out on the rack that came with it and left a burn mark on the interior of the unit. Luckily, we bought a Jenn-Air stove. I found the class action lawsuit for the front load washer after I googled "LG appliance lawsuits." I hope there are more lawsuits for the other appliances. We spent over $6,000.00 for the five appliances and have had nothing but trouble. We are very unhappy with LG.

My LG dishwasher quit after 15 months. The original warranty was 1 year. I opened up the door and found the control circuit board had a burn mark on it, so I called a distributor and ordered a new one to install. I installed it and it burned up immediately as soon as I put the circuit breaker back on. I called LG Customer Service again and they told me I had to get an authorized service tech to find out what was wrong. Through my conversations with him, I found out there was a service bulletin sent out on my particular model, about a faulty wiring harness the company said had to be replaced if they got any service calls on this model. I paid $800 for this dishwasher that had a defect that was a fire hazard, right from the factory. LG Customer Service told me since I had worked on it, they were not going to cover the $560 service charge to repair a factory defect. I am searching for further avenues of retribution and will never buy another LG product as long as I live.

New dishwasher was purchased in 12/06. First failure was on 6/06, then 2/07, 3/07, 4/07 and finally 4/09. It had four repairs under warranty, three of them for identical problem. I spoke w/ Ms. **, faxed all original work order documents. She contends LG should only provide the $84 part and not cover the $300-$400 labor, since it is no longer warrantied, despite the chronic nature of the failures, which recurred 3 of the 4 times in the first 16 months of ownership (Why pay for the part after warranty is expired if they didn't know this was a problem and feel responsible?). This $800 dishwasher will essentially cost $130 per month for the six months it was properly functional. Internet research regarding this model (LDF6810) reveals multiple consumer complaint of issues identical to mine with unacknowledged manufacturing faults or responsibility on the part of LG Corporation.

We purchased an LG dishwasher from Home Depot. Less than 3 months after the purchase, the pump went bad. LG sent out a repair guy and fixed it. Six months later, that pump went bad again. LG, again, fixed it. I wrote a letter to LG with copies of the work orders asking that my warranty be extended. They said no. One year after the second repair, that pump went bad again. It sat for 6 months and then I asked my son to fix it. We ordered a new pump from an LG dealer, and he installed it.
It worked for 2 weeks and then the OE signal went off; that means it can't drain and a burning smell started coming from the dishwasher. We spent $800 on this dishwasher. Less than 3 years later, it is ruined. We are now out of a dishwasher. I have been recently laid off so we will be doing dishes by hand for a while. I will never, ever buy any LG product again.

I purchased an LG dishwasher from a Best Buy dealer. It was said to be one of the quietest dishwashers out there. It is so loud it hurts my eardrums listening to its screeching. The motor has been replaced twice now. It stopped working 2 days before the 1-year warranty expired, but their customer service said since it would take longer than 2 days to get their repairman out to fix it that it would be beyond the warranty date! I really just wanted my money back because this was the most expensive dishwasher on the market. We bought it thinking if we spent more money, we'd get a better product. I hate doing dishes so I am willing to pay out the nose to avoid doing that. Now I'm sitting here with a crappy dishwasher that didn't last even a year and screeches at me all day long.
I just wish there was a way to warn other consumers that this is happening. When I read the complaint website out there for the same product, it seems that everyone's motors are going bad. The repairman that was contracted out by LG said that he has replaced a lot of motors on this particular model. I don't feel that we should have to pay for their mistakes.

LG is beyond terrible! We paid a lot of money for an LG dishwasher and fridge for a home we are fixing up to retire into. The dishwasher started leaking immediately! My husband spent hours on the phone with Home Depot (where we purchased them) and made many other calls only to find out that LG has NO WARRANTY SERVICE in our area!!!! So, my handy mechanical husband finally fixed the leak himself. When the dishwasher was only about 2 years old... meaning about 6 months of actual use at the most since we only used the house on weekends, the motor quit completely! After all the many, many hours of grief we'd already gone through, my angry husband took the dishwasher back to HD. They said they would give us some kind of credit (not enough!!), so my husband said if they did not give us another dishwasher (from a company which actually honored its warranty), then he would dump it in front of the store, take a picture for the newspaper, and the story would read how HD does not back up what it sells. Guess what? We got a new Maytag dishwasher. However, our LG fridge's ice maker has never worked right; it leaks water into the freezer and the crush ice does not work, so who knows how long it will last. :-(
We lost countless hours of our time, more grief than we want to talk about, and had to threaten Home Depot before we got them to rectify the situation. What I really want to do is to get the word out there so people do not buy LG and have to go through what we did (and are).

I purchased a top-of-the-line LG dishwasher for my new home under construction in July of 2005. It was installed by February of 2006. It worked pretty well (other than the hybrid drying system doesn't do that great a job) till January of 2007 when it totally stopped drying at all. Also, the rinse dispenser stopped working and the rubber gasket on the bottom interior of the tub swelled up. It became all spongy and distorted and didn't allow all the water to drain out properly. Without the rinse dispenser working, the detergent doesn't completely dissolve and leaves a white film on everything if I don't completely hand dry everything. Also, I had to replace the clips that hold the prongs for the upper and lower racks as they are cheap plastic that break under the weight of the dishes (even though the racks themselves are nylon with a five-year warranty). The clips didn't last 6 months.
I called LG to complain about the lack of quality but since their warranty period starts from date of purchase, not use, they couldn't help unless it was the control which has a five-year warranty. I had their authorized service person out who didn't test anything. He just listened to my list of things wrong with it and started naming off all the parts it likely needed. He never actually tested any of the parts to see if they were the cause of the problems. Well, when he got done suggesting parts, you could have built a new dishwasher and the parts he stated were around $300 plus his labor and a service call. Total bill would have been $500-$600 for a machine that didn't function for even a year! It cost $950 for a lot of fancy metal. It holds a lot of dishes and operates very quietly but it doesn't do the job I bought it to do. This is a major appliance at a major price, but it didn't have the durability of a $20 coffee machine. I'll never buy their product again and I warned off other family members who almost made the same mistake.

We purchased an LG dishwasher in January 2008 from Home Depot. Less than five weeks from the purchase date the drying cycle in the machine malfunctioned, so we called LG, and two weeks later an independent service man came to look at the problem, and said he would have to order a part in order to fix the problem. He returned in two weeks and fixed the problem. Two months later the machine started to leak, so we called LG again and in ten days another service man came by and said that the machine needed a new rubber gasket. Two weeks later the service man returned to install the gasket. The machine worked fine for three weeks, but then started leaking again.
I called LG and explained the problem, and asked about replacing the machine. They said they would consider replacing the machine, but we must send them all the receipts for the work done on the machine up to that time. I asked my wife about receipts, and was told that she received nothing from these independent contractors. We are now in the process of getting paper work from the service people that worked on the dishwasher. We are waiting to get the paper work and haven't been able to use the dishwasher for the last ten days. I hope we can get a new, and problem free dishwasher so we don't have to continue living with this poorly built machine. Why doesn't LG require their service contractors to give receipts to customers when service work is completed?

Bought an LG Dishwasher in July 2007 from Best Buy, motor went out on it in July 2008.Called before 12 month Best Buy warranty ran out. Tech came out on 7/26/08, said motor was burned out and ordered a new one. They would contact us when part was in. Got a recorded phone call about a week later that the part was in. We had a major event that week, so I called the next week (about 8/6) and was given an appointment for 8/13. Waited from 7-9am like they tell you for technician to call to tell you what time they will be coming. No call came.
By 10am I called 1-888-BEST BUY, and they said the technician should not have been scheduled for that day because he was unavailable. I stated that I didn't care if it was the same tech, just get someone here today. They said they could not and offered an appointment for 8/21 (8 days ahead). I said this was unacceptable and asked for a supervisor. Supervisor eventually said she would move the appointment up to Tuesday 8/19 (today). No call, no show again. At 9:02 called Best Buy customer service again at 1-888-BEST BUY (I don't advise doing that unless you have a big block of phone time available, as the usual wait was 16-31 minutes on hold). Customer service Shannon said she couldn't reach the technician line because of an update, but someone would call me back.
By 11:02, no call came, so I called back (held until 11:28) when I spoke with CS person, Ramey who said she couldn't get the tech branch on the phone, but someone would call me back. I asked for an alternate phone #, and apparently there is none. At 1:12pm, NO CALL again, so I called BB CS and spoke with Amy (I reitterated the entire scenario once again). Amy put me thru to Ella, supervisor who told me that the "system updates" on the tech phone system took 24-48 hours to complete. Of course I had a set of questions after that like: How often do you do this update(obviously not daily...) and "What if there was an emergency? You have no way of getting ahold of that entire department?" Ella said no, and apologized for the misunderstanding (really an omission of information by the CS reps).
Ella could not provide me with another way to speak to anyone higher up, but while I was on the phone with her, I had googled Best Buy headquarters and confirmed that phone number with her. She sounded very sad and sheepish (how sad that they have to field phone calls like this all the time). SO... I called the Corporate HQ at 612-291-1000 and was put throught to Drew Schreiber who assurred me he was not at the 888-Bestbuy number. I told him my story and he listened kindly. He put me on hold and came back.He had spoken with the tech dept. Apparently the last new appointment never made it thru the system (it was probably too busy updating itself all these days to be updated...) and the tech didn't know to come to my house. He verified that the part was in - SO...he gave me a new appointment for 2 days from now. Drew told me to call him personally if the tech doesn't call or show. I said I would be calling him at 9:15 am if there was no call from the tech.
Conclusion: We had trouble with Best Buy service 10 years ago with some applances. I told my husband that I did not want to buy this dishwasher at BB for this very reason, but I gave in due to the reasonable price. Now, having regrets about it doesn't change the fact that we did it. IF ANYONE READING THIS HAS NOT YET MADE A PURCHASE FROM BEST BUY THEN TAKE HEED! Look around elsewhere, even a more expensive local appliance store would be worth it to not have these headaches. I will update as to what happens two days from now-SHOW OR NO SHOW. 2 lost days from work, could be three if you count my husband's day off for the first visit. Dishpan hands from doing dishes by hand for 3+ weeks.

He ordered it. Two weeks later he came back and installed it. The dishwasher still did not function. He told me I needed a new control panel. He ordered it.
Two weeks later he installed it and the dishwasher still failed to function. He told me that LG wanted him to order 2 more parts and replace them. Purchased LG Dishwasher. Two days after warranty (one year) expired, dishwaher failed. LG offered to fix the dishwasher. My husband had to diagnose the problem, as the service tech wasn't able to do so. A new drum and new motor were installed (basically, a new dishwasher). Within three months, the dishwasher stopped working again. LG would not do anything about this. We replaced the dishwasher with one that WORKS (another brand).
Purchased TROMM Washing Machine one year ago from Home Depot. LG sent a representative out, who spend less than one minute examining the washer before he announced he knew what the problem was. It has been three weeks, and the rep has not contacted us, and our washing machine is, according to the Rep, a fire hazard. We were prepared to pay for labor (the particular part is still under warranty - if this is, indeed, the malfunctioning part).
We are ready to purchase a new washing machine - believing it will save us money over time. I would like LG to pick up their substandard appliances (the WORST I have ever owned), and refund my money. I believe their product is so inferior, they should take back their garbage and refund consumers' money. I will NEVER buy an LG appliance again. I have yet to own one that worked over one year! This is the worst.

We have had multiple problems with our LG dishwasher. It arrived in a damaged box and the shipper wouldn't return it. There appeared to be no damage so we installed it. It leaked on our new wood floors. The repair service LG sent was marginal at best and it took more than a month to resolve the problem. After that was resolved and we could use the dishwasher I learned that it did a poor job of getting the dishes clean.
We have suffered through with the poor performance until now, when the spinner under the bottom rack stopped working. We have not yet owned this dishwasher a year and I'm ready to replace it with a more reputable brand.

My husband and I updated our kitchen and replaced all our appliances with LG appliances in July 2007. Since November, 2007, we have had repairmen out 4 times for my dishwasher. The motor has been replaced twice and we are still having problems. Now, (June, 2008) it is leaking. A repairman is due out again this week.
Now we are also having problems with the ice maker on the refrigerator. This will be the third trip for a repairman to make for this problem in the past month. The ice maker is supposed to make between 120-150 pieces of ice a day and we are only getting about a third of that. The repairman even replaced the ice maker on his second trip. The water pressure is the same as it has been since we installed it. We have to keep purchasing ice and that is inconvenient and costly over time.
I would never recommend LG products to anyone because of all the problems we are having. And their service department is a joke. Trying to talk with a service rep is like talking to a wall most of the time. Either they don't understand English or are intentionally obtuse. When I call Customer Service to complain,I get nothing but excuses. And never am I allowed to talk with a manager! I am very disappointed and disgusted with LG appliances, to say the least. And my problems continue!
When I call Customer Service, I spend up to an hour on the phone. I have fibromyalgia and arthritis and really don't feel like talking on the phone for long periods of time as well as having to go to the store (using expensive gas) to buy ice and also waiting around for a repairman to show up. I am totally frustrated with the whole process and wish I had never bought these appliances!

We paid $829 for this stainless steel dishwasher. 1.5yrs later it is leaking all over the floor. Inspection of the machine shows a seal that is very faulty and cannot be replaced/repaired. It is clearly a design flaw. Water leaks from the door and this seal is basically shoved inside the bottom of the and does not appear to be afixed to anything. We took the door panel apart 3 days after we stopped using it. There was signifcant condensation inside the door and all electrical parts were wet. There is also major amounts of corrosion on non-stainless steel metal parts inside the door. This implies that the door has been collection mosture for some time.
We researched on the internet problems with these washers and the volume of problems similar to our (leaking) and with other parts of the DW was amazing. We also found that these leaks cannot repaired and some people were spending in excess of $500 for technicians to come and fix the problem. Please contact me soon because I will be throwing this DW out and you may want it for evidence.

Additionally, the dishes I had attempted to wash in the bottom rack all fell over and the rack did not slide out easily. It was difficult to position drinking glasses in the top rack.
Home Depot came out and checked the installation which was found to be correct. At that point I read reviews on this model dishwasher on the Internet and found that others had the same problems. Home Depot listened to all my concerns and agreed to let me exchange the LG dishwasher for another brand. I am glad that I was able to read reviews on the Internet to support my complaint to Home Depot.

Purchased an LG Dishwasher from Home Depot in May of 2007. Right away the dishwasher quit working. Called LG since it was under warranty. It took over 3 calls to get LG to finally get a repair technician to our house. When the repair technician came he ordered a new part according to the error code being displayed on the Dishwasher. It took over 3 weeks for the part to arrive. Technician replaced the part and the dishwasher still didn't work. The technician determined that the dishwasher was non repairable. Took another 4 weeks and a half dozen calls to LG to finally get a new dishwasher. After a couple months with that dishwasher we noticed the side wall was separating from the dishwasher and the rack was catching on it everytime you tried to push the bottom rack back into the dishwasher after loading.
Called LG, after a couple weeks and more calls they finally sent a technician. The technician determined the dishwasher was non-repairable. 2 more weeks and another half dozen calls to LG, LG agrees to replace the dishwasher again. Now comes the really ugly part! The third dishwasher arrives and when the technician arrived to install, he first pulls out the defective dishwasher and discovers the dishwasher had been leaking from the separated sidewall and had ruined the maple floor behind the dishwasher. We could not see the damage from the front but once we got the dishwaher out, not only had it ruined the flooring but had penetrated the subfloor for a length of about ten feet and there was alot of mold underneath. The damage may not have been this bad had LG responded quicker to the defective dishwasher.
Called LG told them about the problem, got a case number and they sent me a form with instructions on how to file my claim. I followed the instructions to the best of my ability, but had to have the repairs done immediately since my kitchen was completely torn apart and there was mold present. Also 2 contractors told me they could not bid the job(which LG required) since they had no idea to the extent of the damage until they took out all the cabinets to see how far the water and mold had traveled. Over $2000 later my kitchen was repaired and new dishwasher (#3 in a 8 month period)was installed. Sent LG photos of the damages, copies of the bills in January. It is now the end of April and I still have not been contacted by them. The number on my claim that I am told to call is a fax number and I can't get a person on the phone. I have emailed and been told that my claim was transferred to there PLI department and would be contacted shortly. NO CONTACT
$2,292.97 in repairs. Not sure about any health problems from the mold, which there was alot of. I understand that those issues can surface later. Am scheduling someone to check the mold levels in our home. I have also spent hours just trying to get someone from LG to call me back to tell me the status of my case.

We purchased a LG dishwasher in December 2005 from Home Depot. The first one delivered had a damaged door when we uncrated it. LG customer service gave us the run around, but finally Home Depot ordered a new one and took away the damaged one.
In March 2008, two months after the warranty expired, the dishwasher started leaking around the door. The gasket on the inside of the tub was deteriorated. We have used only Casade dishwasher detergent and Jet Dry rinse since we bought it. There should be no reason for the gasket to be in such bad shape.
If the door continues to leak then it will eventually harm our hardwood floors in the kitchen. We paid $1000 for what we thought would be a high quality, low noise dishwasher.

When we complained they (LG) arranged for technician (who come at their convenience and at inconvenient time, that requires you to take off from your work) to stop by our home. Sorry to say that they came, they saw but did nothing. One of them actually replaced circuit board and other then one lectured us on the importance of water temperature, soap and rinseaid. Neither helped us and the problem is not solved. Am still awaiting the arrival of the third technician. Suffice it to say that LG claims their product as energy saver- but, my point is it saves the energy on the machine but not on us !

I purchased an LG dishwasher (LDS5811ST) in January of 2006. As a bachelor who is out of town extensively on business, the unit has seen only light duty. In February of 2007 I got an error code and had to have a rep service the dishwasher. In all he came out SIX times to repair the dishwasher. Now, in February 2008, I am getting another error code and I am told it is the main motor. I contacted LG to see if they can explain why this unit has been so repair prone and if they can do anything to help repair or replace this unit since I have had to have it repaired so many times. They have refused any kind of assistance or explanation why I have had so many problems with this dishwasher. I wanted to know if there is any recourse to getting any kind of help in repairing or replacing this unit.
Cost of dishwasher, installed, $900. Cost of service and repairs so far, $300 (Haven't had the unit fixed for the last problem yet).

My wife purchased a LG washer and dryer about a year ago and from the first load on the washer when in spin cycle vibrates so that I'm afraid of damage to the floor structure. I shored up the floor from underneath but that did not help. Also it takes forever to complete a wash cycle. We tried to get help from LG , but gave up.

We purchased a LG dishwasher from Best Buy in July 2006. The tines on the basket started to break off, it would make a high pitched whistled sound with the sanitize cycle, and it failed to dry the dishes. On Oct 21, 2007, it quit working and an error code (LE) showed on the LCD display. We immediately called LG customer service who gave us a complimentary extended warranty and scheduled us with an authorized service company (At Your Service, Kansas City, MO). When the serviceman arrived, he knew exactly what the problem was. This particular LG dishwasher is known for problems because the glue used inside the door corrodes the wires. The parts were ordered, and the date for delivery of parts was given by LG as Nov. 21. On that day, one part was determined back-ordered, and it was scheduled to be delivered Dec. 23. In the meantime, on Dec. 10 we complained to LG about the length of time it was taking. That same day, Agee (customer service rep) called us back and said we would receive a completely new dishwasher within 2 weeks. All we had to do was fax the receipts.
Well, on Dec. 14, I called 3 times and finally spoke with a Heather, a supervisor, who informed us that we would not receive a replacement dishwasher because we had purchased it as an open box discount. Of note: when we purchased the dishwasher at Best Buy, we were assured that we would receive the complete warranty. On Monday, Dec. 17, I spoke with another supervisor, Freddie, who told me that LG has a deal with Best Buy that they are supposed to allow returns of open-box discounts, and LG then reimburses Best Buy. I was told by Freddie that I would be able to choose whichever dishwasher I wanted at Best Buy. When I got to Best Buy, the manager and sales rep had never heard of such arrangement. They investigated further and determined that what Freddie claimed was not true and some other Best Buy stores had taken back appliances, only to be stuck with non-functioning items, and LG wouldn't reimburse them. Another dead end.
Dec. 23 came and went, no part--date changed to Dec. 28. That date came and went, and now the promised date was Jan. 6, 2008. No part. Next promised date, Jan. 13. At that point we gave up, realizing this is a losing battle, with no end in site for when this part will actually arrive. We now just purchased a Maytag, and pray for better results.
Dishwasher price: $599; 3 months of hand washing dishes (including bottles and sippy cups) $1350 (rate calculated based on current housekeeper rate in Olathe, KS); 14 phone calls to LG to follow up x $30/hr (telecommunications supervisor 1 rate in Olathe, KS)= $420. Total economic damage: $2369.

I contacted LG in September 2007. They said, that since my warranty expired 6/25/07, there is nothing they can do. I, on the other hand can buy a new door for $441.00 (I can buy a brand new dishwasher for that price!). I beleive that a major household appliance like this, under proper care should last a lot longer than two years. If this is a quality product as LG claims it (certainly priced high enough to make one beleive), LG should stand behind their product.

I bought an LG dishwasher for $1,050 about 2-1/2 weeks ago. It never has run once. The code shows that there is a problem with the motor. It took a week to get anyone to look at it, and after another week, the part is still not in, and the appliance repair can't tell me when the part will get in. They informed me that LG doesn't allow the appliance repair part centers to stock parts. Sometimes they have to be shipped from Korea. Once the word spreads about LG, I expect they are going down.

We purchased a LG diswasher in December 2006 at Best Buy. I used it twice and it never cleaned my dishes. So I called Best Buy they sent someone out here and found out it was a bad motor. I was concerned it was a lemon so I asked for a new dishwasher. They delivered a new one a few weeks later. The diswasher is loud it cleans terrible and a month ago the motor went out again. So in 9 months 2 different diswashers, motor went out in both. I would like my money back but that doesn't seem to be an option. I spent $800.00 on this diswasher, definetly didn't get what I paid for.

I purchased an $800 stainless steel dishwasher on Nov. 26th 2006 and by the end of March 2007 it was not working. The code came up the thermister was not working. I called the customer Service line where they scheduled an appointment with a local service company and told me to call them on Monday to confirm my Wed. appointment which I did, only to find out that LG had no access to their appointment books, they couldn't come out until the next week!
I waited, then they came out, yes it was the thermister, which then was ANOTHER weeks wait time for the service company to come out for the repair once the part came in. The repair company comes out, only to find out LG sent a DEFECTIVE thermister to replace the original defective thermister.
I called the customer service line to see if they could overnight the part considering I had already been hand washing dishes for 5 weeks at this point while my $800 dish washer that is less than 5 months old just sits there, and was told they couldn't do that. I argued with the rep and he transfered me to the parts dept. where she told me they could over night the part, transfered me back to the CS rep and he hangs up on me!

Purchased LG dishwasher on 01/03 and by 03-13 I have had two major problems: 1. the door latch did not latch and a repairman was called and the problem corrected 2. two weeks later the wash motor burned out and again the repairman was called.
Because the dishwasher was only 2 months old, I wanted a new unit. LG customer service is difficult to deal with: continuous lies, refusal to let me speak to a supervisor, and overall rude behavior. I was told the motor could be repaired so therefore I could not receive a new unit--unbelieveble a new motor on a 2 mo. old appliance!!!
After three weeks of phone calls and frustration, my Home Depot in Morrow, Ga graciously agreed to exchange my unit for any other unit in the store. My thanks to Home Depot for making this right. LG, however, never stood by their own product and refused to help me.
800.00 spent for two weeks of successful operation. Extreme frustration!!!

A couple of months later dishwasher would not complete cycle and went thru 8 weeks of troubleshoot and repair, but when they fixed cycle problem LCD read out wouldn't work. They ordered the part and I waited 2 months to make my appointment because I was sick of the repair people and now they won't fix because the warranty has expired. Just a $1000 piece of junk! Who wants a stranger in their house on a weekly basis for 16wks or more? I'm done with LG forever!
I had to keep towels in front of dishwasher for the first 8 weeks, then with the second problem it didn't work at all so I had to wash dishes by hand for 8wks, and then with the third I have no idea how long the different choices of cycles run for-which is a convenience-but I paid $1000. Also, stayed home at least 16x waiting for repair man, some which resulted in a loss of income and rest just a huge inconvenience.

Customer Service was sub-adequate, the LG Service department blatently lied on not one but two occasions. Finally, the repair man came and replaced the motor, the fan, the circuit board and all the little shoddy plastic wheels that hold up the racks. All this for a unit that was just 1 year old. When LG customer care finally answered my email they just said "thanks for contacting us but your machine is out of warranty". Nice, real nice.

We purchased an $800 LG Dishwasher from Best Buy in Chico, CA in Sept.05. We had problems with it starting 2 weeks after we had it installed. Best Buy was useless & LG even more so. It is virtually impossible to have anyone service an LG product and totally impossible to get LG to help you in anyway. LG techs are rude over the phone and you get the same run around each time you call that they will call you back with a service time and never return the call. LG's all time excuses' seem to be the same after seeing other complaints from frustrated LG buyers. I will NEVER buy from Best Buy or purchase another LG product again.
The dishwasher is 14 months old and needs a new sump pump that will cost $400. The Sears tech. that I had come out to look at it said he also thought that the motor was going out on it. I'm sure that won't be cheap. We're taking this dishwasher to the dump and chalking it up as a learning experience.

I purchased an LG dishwasher from home depot last August. I also purchased the extended warranty. This dishwasher has never cleaned my dishes well. The service from LG is excrutiatingly bad. I have spent literally hours on hold and then they are rude. The tell me use more soap, use less soap, use different soap, all of which I have tried. I have only found one service person in the entire city willing to service this maching. He told me to run the hot water for 5 minutes before I wash the dishes. LG now says if they send someone out I will have to pay because there is nothing wrong. And yet my dishes don't get clean. I gave up on pots - just dinner dishes and flatware are not clean. Our top of the line, stainless steel dishwasher failed within the 1st month. It wouldn't dry anything - full cycle left dishes with a heavy condensation.
When calling to report the failure, customer service said to add more jet dry. Didn't work. Had a serviceman come who sort of fixed the problem, but then the machine leaked all over the place. Someone came to fix that and then the motor started making a horrendous noise. We finally said, "that's enough, take the thing back already"!
Someone came to uninstall the dishwasher, and deliver the new one but said we'd have to get approval for installation because that was an entirely different service. Now I've got 2 dishwashers sitting in my house, one that sort of works sometimes and one that's sitting in my garage waiting for approval to get hooked up.
Home Depot was no help, saying that they contacted the people responsible but couldn't take the appliance back themselves.
