Water was coming into our home and the repair people put in a sump pump. They had to dig out our whole floor and told us that we needed a generator on that. So, we put one in. We were gonna put one in anyway, because we lose our power out here in Vicksburg constantly. The trees fall on the power lines and we lose our power when the storms come. But since we purchased the Kohler generator, we’ve only lost the power once for about 10 seconds. It kicked on and it kicked off, which was the only time it ever ran. It's a bummer. The generator goes through its cycle every week. It kicks on on Wednesdays and runs through its time. You hear it fire and it purrs like a kitten then it shuts down. And it's done for a week.

I've been pleased with the Kohler generator. I've had it for over a year now. It's well-built.

We use KOHLER Generators in all of our sanitary sewer line pump stations. My experience with Kohler has been excellent. They make work for municipal and utility applications. They're very good. I almost missed the opportunity to make it to the army-navy football game. And if it weren't for my KOHLER generator kicking on, I would not have had power that day and would not have been able to make it to the football game.

I talked to somebody local that was dealing with KOHLER and I liked him and he was very honest and upright. He does good work. He had good recommendations. He recommended the KOHLER over the Generac. He could get me the Generac too, but there were certain things he liked better about the KOHLER. And we've had good luck with it. We like it. We had it for about a year and a half now. We've used it a few times, but we've never had any long power outages. It's pretty fast. As soon as the power goes off, it's on within a matter of a few seconds. The guy who installed it and sold it to us has me on a schedule. Comes back once a year to service it. We're well satisfied with it.

I looked at both Generac and Kohler and they were very comparable but I went with a local business. The sales reps were highly professional and the installation was very easy and simple. It didn't take long. The generator automatically kicks on when the power comes off. We bought one for my uncle first and he lives up in the national forest area and there are a lot of trees that come down when there are windstorms. It's been very beneficial for both me and my uncle, especially more for my uncle because fire lines come down when trees cross them. We’ve used the generator for an hour or two but my uncle has had to use his for a couple of days. It performs very well. The Kohler generator is a highly reliable product.

Our second home is in an area that loses power quite frequently and we did not wanna have any problems with losing power and perhaps having freezing pipes. The people that sold a generator to us had Kohler and another brand but we thought that the Kohler was going to be better for us. They also explained that there was a rebate, which also swayed our opinion. We've used the generator many times and it's great.

We went through Hurricane Hugo and we didn't have power for two weeks. My mom is 96 years old and if something goes wrong with the power, she needs heat and air. She can't be sitting around. We got a generator and my heat and air guys said Kohler looked good so I bought it. The thing I don't like is it's noisy and it's right beside my bedroom window so it's a little aggravating. But it doesn't run for 20 minutes every week or so and other than that, it works fine.

We’re supposed to have service on the Kohler generator for maintenance. The last time we lost power was for 12 hours and it ran for the whole time and it was great. We had everything we wanted at the time. We've been very happy with it.

The gentleman from KOHLER that came out was great. He explained about the generator and put me in a package that was within my wheelhouse as far as pricing. The installation was pretty cool, too. I needed a couple of things done here and there, and the installer helped out as much as he could. He was expeditious in the way that he facilitated it. So far, we've had a couple power outages where the generator had gone right on cue. For the most part, it was seamless for us and we really didn't recognize that the power went out. I heard the generator kick on and it just stayed on. We thought it was the normal weekly turn on, but it wasn't. When we started hearing everybody else's generators, we realized that the power was out.

We have been customers of Generator Tech Ottawa for over 10 years. When our 10-year old Generac generator (not purchased from Generator Tech Ottawa) was running and blew an oil cap and blew all the oil onto the floor of the generator, thereby ruining (seizing) the engine, we called Generator Tech Ottawa and they had a new Kohler generator installed for us within a week. The installation was done efficiently and promptly. The yearly service has been thorough and prompt. I am now a satisfied Kohler owner and would recommend this product to anyone wanting a backup generator. Also, Generator Tech Ottawa is a first-class company to deal with.

I bought (new) old stock from a former Kohler dealer and Kohler corporate decide the unit was too old to warranty. I understand corporate not knowing what happened between delivery and sale, however, they could have offered to send a certified tech out to verify. Instead they decided to deny any warranty level. This was the easy way out instead of standing behind their product.

We have been very happy with the performance of the generator. It has come on immediately after 3 power outages. At one point we stopped getting messages from KOHLER that the weekly testing was successful. Our service provider Wilhelm of Amp Champ responded quickly and kept reprogramming the internet connection. He was very quick to respond and was uncertain what the problem was. It turned out that our internet service was malfunctioning and it is now fixed. And we are getting weekly notices from Koehler.

These Kohler generators are fantastic. I bought it through electric generators direct and I was assured that I'd be eligible for the rebate but Kohler said that the purchase was ineligible because retailer. Kohler makes a great generator but don't count on them to pay out rebates. Part of the reason that I went with the more expensive Kohler generator was because of the quality but also because the price would be offset with the rebate.

We bought the 20Kw in 2021 from Pritchard Electric, Mississauga Ontario. Extremely helpful and informative. Had one in stock. Problem 1: It was delivered to our Waterloo home when I clearly said it was for the cottage near Dorset, Ontario, about 300 kms away. I had to pay half the shipping cost to Sent it to the proper location. On Dec 28th, 2022, the "stator" (?) failed due to melted brushes? Ontario Hydro indicated it would take 6 weeks to restore power. All water lines, appliances, etc had to be drained because of the freezing Temps in January. The new stator was installed Feb 13, 2022. I've since learned that no one other than Pritchard can service this generator at a cost of $750 just for the travel.

We bought a home generator installed Aug 2021. It was installed with a broken value that lets the fuel in. Didn't work until we complained and stopped payment on the final check. Then 1 month later the new battery was dead. The install company replaced it at no cost. We have reported several times that it wasn't running smoothly. Paid for a service call and they made some adjustment. Now 2 1/2 years later we have a locked rotor message. Took the company 3 weeks to come out. Then they replaced the battery and said the starter motor is bad. We have been without use of the generator for 5 weeks and there is no telling how much longer and if it's the starter motor or something else. This is not our idea of a good product or reliable. My advice is look at a Generac!!!

This is the second house that we have had a Kohler installed. No problems with the first unit ever. This unit, the second one, developed an large oil leak and was replaced at Kohler's discretion. The replacement unit has also developed an oil leak although from a different location and we get a code, locked rotor, that renders the unit inoperative. If I go and start the unit manually it will start and run on auto after that.

The generator has been working very well. The Application is also very good. I’m glad that exercise activation was added to the Application! The response time from an App command to the generator is fast. I would recommend the 20KW unit to anyone after our positive experience. I have recommended it to several neighbors. Thank you.

The unit fits nicely in our backyard. After about two or three weeks our unit ran for almost 24 hours as our whole neighborhood had no power. The unit was very quiet as we heard nothing while we were sleeping. The colors of the unit are very appropriate for the colors of our deck.

Gen is great when the power goes out. The generator was installed on a slant. Condensation gathers on the left side of the generator shorting out the generator. Dealer replaced large part of generator under warranty. They did not level the generator and I am sure it will happen again when not on warranty. I am retired now and cannot afford the $5,000 to fix it again. Dealer shows no intention fixing the problem for me.

This generator has performed very well for the past 3 years. I exercise it loaded each week to be sure it will not fail in a pinch. The only issue I have encountered is the start battery. It must hold above 9.5 volts when the unit starts to keep the ATS computer powered. If it falls below that, the ATS will not function. The battery would crank the motor just fine, but the ATS would not switch. Keep a close eye on that. Otherwise, I have not had a problem and recommend Kohler over two of the other major brands on the market.

We bought the generator through Home Depot. They sent the representative to our house. The man looked over everything with me and we had them install the Kohler generator. We have had incidents where the electric would be out for a few hours to a day....We also had the generator run for a full week...and were very satisfied with the product. Once a year the people who installed the generator do a maintenance...The maintenance is expensive but it is worth knowing our unit will operate correctly.

Had a Kohler 14 KW installed a few years ago, best thing I ever did. Got sick of every time the power went out I had to drag my portable generator out and hook it and try to get it running. Now I just sit back and everything is all automatic. I've been a Mechanic most of life and have had many Kohler products, so it was with no surprise to see this was a great product.

I cannot rave enough about our Kohler Generator!!! Just last week we had a 14 hour loss of electricity in our area that impacted over 5,000 homes. Our generator kicked in immediately, and ran effortlessly for all of those 14 hours. I had our vendor come out and check the generator since this was the first time it has run for that length of time and because hurricane season is just around the corner. It was in perfect order. The technician just topped off the oil and that was it!!!! Love this generator and so happy we bought a Kohler. First class product that won't let us down in an emergency!!!! Highly recommend it without hesitation!!!!

I purchased a Kohler generator because they were supposed to be the most reliable. The generator portion of my whole house generator self destructed during a weekly test cycle when it was no more than 2 years old. It was around COVID-19 time and impossible to get parts from Kohler. After months of waiting I finally demanded my dealer harvest parts from new units in inventory, which was eventually what happened. The unit was repaired free of charge and has functioned perfectly ever since. I just wish I never had to go through that experience.

Had a bad board and Kohler told me to call a dealer. None of the dealers helped and I had to return the paperweight to Costco. Thanks for nothing kohler. I will never buy a product from kohler ever again and I'm going to tell everyone my experience. Furthermore the customer service personnel were terrible.

Our 20RCA generator failed after 75 hours of use. The night it failed we had tornados 1/4 mile away and were without power for 16 hours. The brushes and armature burned and the engine shaft had a huge groove cut into it. No labor warranty means It took 6 months to get it repaired with me forking out over $1500. I no longer will give Kohler good recommendations. Also customer service folks were nice. However it does not seem like Kohler, as big as a company they are, has a central customer service management system. Each time I called I had to wait to speak with same person.

We had the generator installed in August of 2020, almost 4 years ago. We get the unit serviced annually. In that time period we have not had any issues with it nor have we had any outages. We purchased a Kohler as we wanted the best money could buy. So far it has lived up to that reputation.

When the generator self-tests weekly, sometimes it fails to start up. Elite Power & Energy Corp, which maintains the unit, has been unable to correct the problem, going so far as to having denied the problem twice in the past. I suppose that, if you don't know how to fix a problem, deny that it exists.

I am basically satisfied with my Kohler generator. There were many delays getting the generator installed and working right. I know the ad for the generator states quiet, that is false. The generator is very very noisy. I finally figured out how to have it give me notice when it runs its check every other week.

MY unit is about 15 months old. It's too soon to tell how well the unit performs. My only experience with the company is the time that it took to get my rebate check approximately 2 months... Way too long. Service is provided by a 3rd party firm. So far so good.

Have owned my Kohler, 20 KW for about three years. Since installation, there have been very few power outages! It reliably starts up every week for its maintenance run. I know it is sturdy, because a medium size tree fell on it during the last Florida hurricane. Made a small crack in the case. No damage inside, and I repaired it with a little caulk. The app works well reporting all situations including battery health. The installation company Has been excellent in annual maintenance. I am very pleased with my Kohler and have confidence in its operation.

Bought the unit 16 months ago. Has only run 4 short times in that period but it turns on 10 seconds after losing power and is pretty quiet. We looked at Generac beforehand but liked the fact that Kohler uses a commercial type motor. I highly recommend Kohler generators! They are not cheap but being elderly it gives us peace of mind during a storm.

We bought our 20kw generator for hurricanes, but we are now on a higher priority grid. Our outages have been completely unexpected local failures where we find out later that the generator has come on and is doing its job. With our soft start a/c, it doesn't even flinch. We do our own yearly maintenance and monthly/pre-disaster checks.

I've been generally pleased with your product. It arrived with some defective parts that had to be replaced by the installer. I was unhappy with the installer, NH Generator Installers, who I found to be unresponsive when I did have issues, one of which was the Generac "pass through switch" to our kitchen stove. It failed twice and hasn't been replaced, so when the power goes out, we have no stove. I have a new service co., Brook Field Service, who seem to be doing the job, although very expensive.

Before purchasing my whole home generator through Lowe’s. I did a good bit of research and thought that the Kohler brand was probably the best. Here is my review. The process of purchasing the generator through Lowe’s was a total mess. First ordered late August 2023. When I went to pick up the generator from Lowe’s on the delivery date, September 15th, 2023, Lowe’s stated that it hadn’t come in yet. It had been three weeks or longer. Lowe's contacted Kohler directly to get a new delivery date. The CSR at Kohler stated they had no record of the purchase. Lowe's showed in their computer system that the order was placed with Kohler.

We’ve had our generator for a couple years now. It consistently turns on every Friday to charge. It’s worked flawlessly when we’ve lost power. Turned on and powered entire house. We are happy with our Kohler generator and would recommend this brand. Never again do I have to worry about losing power in our house and our perishables going bad.

We have two Kohler generators. I've also recommended two neighbors use Kohler over Generac. So I have experience with four generators since 2019. As of now, all but one has been without issue. One problem generator had its engine seize up for no explained reason, then costing $5k in repairs. The local tech then told us that they've seen several engines seize within a couple of years. Thus making me worry about ticking timebombs. Our local dealer has been very helpful, but Kohler doesn't seem to want to help with the issue.

The only problem I have had along with my neighbor who purchased and installed at the same time is we both are losing Internet connection with the generator. Even after installing WiFi booster it still drops connection. Otherwise the generator self testing works as it should and am very glad that we went with your product rather than any other generator company.

Purchase 20KW model 20RESD generator through Kohler distributor. Generator exercised routinely and was serviced every six months during 5 year life. It rarely ran (other than exercise), and never greater than one hour. Experienced two outages during its fifth year (each greater than 24 hours) and generator ran without issue.

20K Kohler Generator 12.1 Hours 6 months old. is dead, Let us down twice The engine, blew at 12.1 hours. Oil everywhere even in the ground. Kohler factory warranty people were rude, not at all helpful. We got a complete runaround. One person went off on our son because he knew her name, she was mad and going to her supervisor. We feel we need a replacement generator. They will replace the motor but we just can not trust a piece of equipment that has already bug down and had a complete engine failure. The sound damping is oil soaked as well. The installation and servicing companies (not Kohler) have been great. No recommendation on Kohler from us. Wish we purchased another brand.

Everything's been going well with the generator and I have had no issues with it. It came on one time when the power was out and I could have survived without it at the time, but it was nice that I didn't have to worry about it.

We install KOHLER Generators in our client location. They're good. I would highly recommend them. They're pricier, but you get what you pay for.

I'm happy with my KOHLER generator. I've had no problems with it, and it's about two years old right now. I feel very satisfied with it.

This is the second generator I've had with Kohler. The first one only lasted eight years. Unfortunately, the computer board that was needed to replace it was not available, so we had to purchase a new one. That was not a good news for us, but we went ahead and got the second one because the quality of the materials is superior.

The generator is of good quality, and I've used it at least two times. When the power goes out, the generator comes on and it works flawlessly. It's pre-programmed to kick on within 30 seconds, and we have electricity even when there's a power outage.

My experience was great. The service people were wonderful and did a good job. I seem to be at the end of the line near a transformer, which is not uncommon, and I've been having power outages frequently. My generator has only turned on once when the power's been out, but it went on promptly, within a minute. It powers the whole house. The outage was only a couple of hours, and the generator was on for about two hours. I'm very satisfied, and I have security in knowing it's gonna turn on when I'm gone.

Our KOHLER generator has never kicked on while we were at the house we put it in, but we know it does kick on because we have cameras on the property. We get notified when the cameras have gone down, so we'll know that the power has gone out. And within a minute, our power's back on and the cameras are back up.

First, I wish we would have gotten our Kohler years ago. My husband travels all over the country for his position which leaves me here with the kids and animals. He cannot always be here in outages, bad weather, etc.. We have a Kohler 22k. The aspect that this generator runs my 4,200 Sq. Ft home. 2 storey. 2 teenagers, 5 American Akitas, a small shop..

When we compared it against the Generac, KOHLER Generators seemed to be the better brand. We had a few seconds without power, and it ran for the five hours that we needed it. It was smooth. I gotta shut it off every 150 hours to do maintenance on it like changing the filters, oil and fluids, clean the posts and spark plugs. It's dependable and easy to work on as far as the general maintenance on it yourself. I'd recommend it.

Kirkpatrick installed and is maintains the generator. Service and install has been excellent. Great company to deal with. Highly recommended. The people are highly qualified and easy to work with. We got recommendation from neighbor who as is completely satisfied. Would recommend company to whomever is looking to get a Kohler generator installed.

I live out in Wyoming and we've used the generator many times. When the power goes out, it waits for maybe a minute before it kicks on. They wanna give the power company time in case it's just a momentary outage because of a hiccup in the system and then after that, it kicks on. It works like it's supposed to and it's so efficient and trustworthy I forget it's there. I have to keep reminding myself to go check everything and make sure some rabbit didn't crawl into the case and made a mess. I also bought Kohler's internet connection service to connect it to the internet.

Kohler’s installers had trouble when they put the generator in and something wasn’t wired right. But it wasn’t their fault. When they finally got the wiring, everything straightened out. This is a new condo, which is only three and a half years old. The power went out a couple of times and my wife wasn’t on oxygen at that time. When she was put on oxygen, I figured the generator was an extra life insurance policy to make sure that she never runs out of oxygen. I'm also on a CPAP machine, so I need it every night. Here in Indiana, we get severe thunderstorms as well as tornadoes. I live just off of a major north-south artery and the poles over there are always getting hit. Having the generator gives me comfort knowing that if something happens, the power will come back up.

Everybody here in the whole block has a generator. I'm the only one without a generator. I would have to charge my battery for the phone in the car, be without light and heat. It was tough. That's why I said when my husband passed, I wasn't gonna do that alone. So I purchased a generator from Kohler. The power went out shortly and the generator kicked on pretty fast. The price for the generator is too high, though.

I like the motor that was in the Kohler generator. I also like the recommendation I got from various electricians who had been installing generators. They all seem to recommend Kohler. The power went out a couple of times and it works like a champ. I've got a little bit of a delay and the generator automatically comes on and powers up everything in the place. I would recommend Kohler.

I haven't been happy with the generator. We had it installed last November and when the storm came, it did not start. They came out and they said that it needed a heater. They placed the heater in there. It does a manual check and it was doing it every Saturday at noon. Last week, it was doing its check and it tried to start up once, twice, and it just did not start. They had to come out again and they said they thought it was the spark plug because they said I hadn't had a check on it so they did that. Also, I had them switch the check to Tuesday at 9:00 so at least I'm up and I can hear. I haven't really had an opportunity to see if it will produce, which is kind of my concern because it was almost $12,000. But the techs have been great.

The maintenance for the vendor I used who installed my KOHLER generator has been great. The unit's price was not inexpensive, but it seems like it's the going rate. Other than that, my experience with it has been good.

Our KOHLER 20w whole house generator isn’t even a year old. It basically has only run during the weekly self test. When we finally needed it, it didn’t run. After getting it looked at we were told the rotor had seized and some other parts needed to be replaced. We are now a month without a working generator as we wait on parts. Very disappointed with the lack of quality and performance on a brand new generator.

We purchased a whole house Kohler generator several years ago because we live in a rural area of New Hampshire with a population of 250. We are the last to be restored once power is lost. That has meant in the past no power for two hours to two weeks. Keeping your home warm in the winter without a running furnace requires round the clock wood burning (if you’re lucky enough to have a fireplace)! And doing without running water is a major inconvenience over days/weeks. I love my generator. It paid for itself in the first year. And I have the added benefit of not having to worry over it! Thank you, Kohler! Best purchase ever!

Everybody from Kohler was very professional and did a good job. I have peace of mind knowing that as long as the generator is working, we'll have heat, especially in the winter when it gets cold and it's not good, and electricity too and be able to go about our daily lives in some comfort.

I received my very expensive and heavy generator through freight and it was damaged. It was an absolute nightmare trying to get Kohler to take care of it. It took many months and phone calls. I finally convinced them to send me the parts, which they finally did after a long time and I had to put them on myself. So, it was not a happy experience. But I still believe Kohler’s generator is one of the best ones. It's a big whole house generator and I don’t have to worry about anything.

I hired Bridges Electric from York Maine to install a generator because my mother-in-law lived with us and we needed power during ice or snow storms. I had a portable gas powered generator, but when we had the opportunity to install a propane powered Kohler generator, we jumped at the chance. Mike ** from Bridges Electric does all my electrical work and he is most trusted to do work for me. He is a Kohler generator distributor and I trust his recommendation. We have a service for him every year and we have had no problems as of yet.

We bought the 12 RES generator late 2020. I did the installation myself in early 2021. I am a contractor, the work was filed for, done to code, passed inspection, etc. The generator ran fine on the initial startup but then would not restart. Kohler eventually sent a service tech who discovered a linkage arm, between the carburetor and the servo, had somehow become inverted. It was an easy fix, and the generator has run flawlessly since, providing us with power through numerous outages.

Awesome experience so far and the technician who installed it was first rate. I got the 30kw water cooled unit. It is so quiet I can't hear it when it comes on, funny thing is I can hear my neighbor's generator when it comes on and we are separated by 5 acres. The unit is super reliable, I have had zero problems in the 3 years I've owned it at this point. I do the regular service every January. I totally recommend Kohler, to get one!

Honestly you will have to go to Bold Electric for the details, but the unit sent a message that it wasn't working and they came out and said it required a new part. I was stunned that it wasn't covered -- they said it was a known problem with these units. I was very annoyed that I had to pay. Again please talk to them for details.

Excellent customer support, quick return on questions, installation by my certified electrician made for ease of install and use. Kicks on every 2 weeks like clock work to run its cycles. Will power my entire property, 2 well pumps, home and work shop. It also has a change oil LED indicator that notifies you if any issues. A great generator and worth it.

Completely satisfied with generator and Rhode's service. The generator came on at least a dozen times in past 2 years. This was machine was our best home improvement and will increase the eventual selling price of our home. The unit is relatively quiet during the weekly exercises. By buying a generator we have saved the frequent cost of motel stays during electrical outages.

I really appreciated the team that installed my generator. The annual service has been very good and when I recently lost power for just over 60 hours, I had a smile on my face. Business as usual! Most importantly, now that I have the generator I have the peace of mind when I’m away from home on vacations.

KOHLER manufactured my generator with a defective part; the coolant reservoir tank intake and output drain holes were blocked; this resulted in overspill of coolant while the unit is hot. I spent hours on the phone with Kohler, sending them photos and receipts for the repair that their certified technician was supposed to fix; he could not find the problem. I found the problem. I was promised by Alissa that she would review and reimburse me for the defect. She ignored all my emails and phone calls and never contacted me. Kohler service gets an F for customer service.

I have two of these on two properties in Hayward, WI. The installer, Voyageur Electric did an excellent job installing them. All in all they have worked great but one did have a defective or improperly installed shaft seal from the factory which blew out and leaked all of the oil out. Luckily your engine management system caught this before the engine was ruined but it did cause a few weeks of downtime to get this repaired.

I purchased a KOHLER generator based upon the research a past client of mine did. HE was an engineer that researched everything so that when I decided I wanted a generator, I just went with what he did. It's new so it runs perfectly. I have the annual service done on it to ensure it keeps working perfectly. Because it's new, I don't anticipate issues with it. Overall, very satisfied.

We selected Kohler based on the recommendation of multiple generator installation and service professionals. Installation by JRB Electric was done very professionally. We live in an area with a high frequency of power outages and our Kohler 20RESC Natural gas generator has performed flawlessly. Kohler generators are highly recommended based on our experience.

I replaced my old Kohler generator with another Kohler. Kohler products are all made in the US, which is important to me and I'd had real good luck and good service out of my old unit. At the time when I bought it, availability was kind of sketchy so I had to wait a while. But they put me in the queue and as soon as one came in, the company I bought it from had it drop shipped directly from the plant. Other than that, the timing was pretty good because they were offering a 10-year extended warranty at no charge.

The only negative portion of purchasing and owning a Kohler is the difficulty in purchasing the yearly maintenance kit. It would be nice if there was a Kohler store on Amazon where the kit could be purchased. The only place I could locate the kits was through small vendors who were charging exorbitant prices with high shipping costs also.

KOHLER Generators came out and the generator had its yearly inspection. There's a lot of cost that go with having a generator that I wasn't aware of, like coming out to do your regular inspection and replacing things. But whenever they check it, it does a checking run every week, it's no problem and it's not that noisy. So, I'm happy that I have it. It adds to the value of my home and property. It's Ladue, Missouri and a lot of people have to have generators. And new homeowners ask more questions about what other features we have in our house. Look into it and compare it with other generators.

We had a couple of people come to our house and give us bids. Kohler was the cheaper one so we chose them. During the times that the generator came on when we lost power for a second, it seemed to work.

My good friend who has Kohler recommended them over Generac. They said that Generac was not nearly as good as the Kohler. The electrician that I used to install my generator recommended them as well. The electrician put in the generator and it has come on when our power went out, but not for any extensive use. Most of it has been a couple hours. This past Labor Day was the longest time. It ran for four hours.

I purchased a Kohler generator and it was easy. Out where we are, we lose power for two to three days during every major storm, and the generator has been great. The lights blink, and then we have power again.

I love our whole house generator, and I was very impressed with Ferran Engineering. They were the one that made the proposal to me, and we discussed the various kinds of generators. We selected Kohler, and they acquired it. They also installed and serviced it. They continue to service it, and it's working beautifully. It's on an automatic transfer switch, so if the power goes out from our local utility, the generator comes on and serves our entire house. It has done so several times. We live in Florida where the hurricanes bring the power down. Even local outages and a severe storm, it'll blow out a transformer somewhere. As a matter of fact, I was on vacation during Christmas, and on my phone, I got a notice from The Orlando Utilities that they experienced a power outage in my neighborhood. It didn't worry me a bit that we were gonna be without power at home while I was away. I felt very confident in the performance of the generator.

I purchased my stand by generator in 2020. My wife was on oxygen and we didn’t want to risk losing power and her not being able to breathe. Where we live is in a rural area and the power goes out frequently. Our generator has gotten us through several power outages. Power goes out and about 3 seconds later, generator has started up and running like a charm.

Kohler stood behind their guarantee of my large household generator. The original generator was a lemon. My dealer worked with Kohler manufacturer's representative. After they demonstrated the problem was not reparable I was given at not financial cost a brand new replacement generator. This new generator has been working perfectly for more than 2 years. The weekly automatic test runs go perfectly, and just last night the generator went on seamlessly for utility power failure.

When we moved from NYC to our rural area of PA, we did not realize how bad the electric company protected their lines. So many outages, and lost food. We finally bought a gas generator and it helped, but we had to go outside, fill it with gas, get it started, and run power cords throughout our house. We had well water, so we did not have running water.

My first generator failed working 3 weeks. The seals blew out within the first few weeks and dumped oil everywhere including coating the entire generator. The dealer came out and said he’s never seen a generator fail that way but under warranty they are replacing it. This was during Covid so a generator was at least a month out. The dealer called me and said that Kohler is upgrading me to the arctic package free of charge and it will be here in a week. I live in western ny so the arctic package is perfect! The dealer installed the new generator and even put a new pad under it for me. That day I signed a contact with him to come service it once a year. He sold me on Kohler’s loyalty to the customers and his. I could not be happier.

I purchased my generator 2 years ago and it has performed great through the only short outage since then. However, the test mode runs every 2 week and has been without any problems. I would definitely buy it again. The only issue has been the battery needed to be replaced after the 24 month warranty.

I will start by disclosing that I'm from Wisconsin, so maybe a little prejudice in making our choice. We and the generator live hurricane prone Florida. We are also very close to the Gulf of Mexico and in a salt air environment. Our dealer is Florida Power Solutions located in Sarasota FL. Our unit is a 20kw whole home model. We are very happy with our dealer and the unit. We have experienced several hurricanes and storms with utility power outages,one event lasted 8 days. We installed our generator in 2021 and it has provided us with flawless operation and hassle free peace of mind. We love it and both of us think it was worth every penny!

When I queried my electric coop to determine my home's maximum power load they sent me a 365-day spread-sheet showing that my maximum load was 10.7KW. That simplified my choice of generator size. From one of your distributors I ordered your 12RESV, 12KW model. I also ordered a Kohler maintenance kit, concrete mounting pad, OnCue Plus Wireless Radio Kit, a MT-51/51R 12V CCA battery and a RXT-JFNC-0200A automatic transfer switch. Calling on my educational background as a graduate electrical engineer and FCC licensed broadcast engineer, and my experience installing automatic generators, I found the Kohler installation and operating manuals easy to follow and was able to achieve a successful installation.

I have purchased three residential back up generators in the last 12 years. The first two failed repeatedly the third one never ran properly even after extensive repair under warranty. The repair company, Also the seller of the generator (Colorado Energy Systems) said they have done everything they could possibly do and cannot make it perform properly, I’m stuck with an improperly performing generator for the third time in 10 years! I’m extremely dissatisfied with your product and with your installers' ability to repair it. I will never buy one again unless my current generator gets repaired to the point of proper function and lasts a while.

For three years in a row my wife and I experienced several days living in a dark cold house as the result of winter storms. We decided that we absolutely needed a standby generator. Having selected NH Generator Installers and the Kohler product it was installed. The installation was very professional and thorough. The generator has performed flawlessly. It has protected us over the course of many winter storms.

Using an electrical contractor I purchased and had installed a Kohler 20RESC generator with RXT200 transfer switch in March of 2022. Previously my home has experienced power outages as long as 8 days due to severe storms. The installation went smoothly and to date the generator has been working well. We haven't had any prolonged outages but the generator has started immediately during the few short outages we have had, and runs exactly as expected for its weekly automated test. I am very happy with the generator, no complaints at all.

I called twice for a tune up kit and oil change 6 mo ago and have never gotten it. The person who installed my unit said I should have it in a month or so and that he would change the oil, the oil filter and spark plug. I was told when we purchased this expensive unit that all I had to do to get the kit was call. Not a very good company that doesn't stand behind their promises. Dawn ** (disappointing)

I have not really needed the generator, which is a good thing. I have had it running once a week for its maintenance run since it has been put in. But I was disappointed that I had to replace the battery after having the unit for 22 months. Is there a warranty on the Kohler brand battery?

The generator itself seems well built and hopefully works as it should. But I don’t know that because the OnCue System that allows an owner to monitor the generator operations remotely using a phone app, is faulty and unreliable. The app requires communication with two linking devices, one installed on the generator and another nearby in your house. The linking devices do not use WiFi, as they should, but use an inefficient and often ineffective radio signal; and the software is faulty. When first installed it took an hour with a Kohler phone tech to get the system communicating. I don’t live full time in the house; it’s 200 miles away from my primary residence, so knowing my generator is functioning properly is absolutely necessary, especially in wintertime when a power outage could be catastrophic for me.

Overall very pleased with the generator. Experienced minor issue dealt with under warranty, following a major storm and week long power outage. Since then, has performed as expected. I am somewhat disappointed with the controller which on occasion loses remote connection. This prevents me from connecting to the generator. I hope a permanent fix could be incorporated in future updates. Would recommend to purchase this unit.

Generator had as only come on during an outage a few times but worked flawlessly when needed. Service people doing the once a year maintenance have been efficient. Seems like everyone enjoys working for the company. A sign of a good company that people enjoy working there. Cost for the yearly maintenance has increased a lot and that’s the only downside. However we are happy with the generator and with the ten year warranty.

Good experience. General maintenance. Love how the generator performs. Compared Kohler generator to many others and found it superior in every way. The easy maintenance makes it worry free. Installing was a dream with no connection problems or concerns. I would highly recommend buying a Kohler generator to replace the existing generator that someone currently has.

Our generator is working well and is running smoothly overall, but the wifi module, which we paid extra for, has been a bit of a letdown. Unfortunately, it hasn't lived up to expectations since day one. Despite the company's promise to upgrade their servers by the end of 2023, there hasn't been any progress. In my opinion, it might be a good idea for them to pause selling this accessory until they resolve the system issues. The wait has been quite extensive, and I'm uncertain if they're actively addressing the situation.

This is the second Kohler generator I have owned. They both have worked extremely well. I feel confident that it will give us the peace of mind we wanted. Premier Generator was the right choice from start to finish. Installation was easy and quickly done with a basement left very clean. When I had an issue with unit Premier was there the same day to fix. They serviced my unit in February 2023 exactly as scheduled.

My generator has not run correctly on the load since I bought it. The local service tech told me that the gas pressure was too low so I hired a plumber to come and increase it. It has been done. The generator is still not running correctly. It misses and stutters.. I have called the local service tech, Prime Energy Solutions, three times in the past 30 days and spoken to the receptionist, they have never returned my call to let me know when they can come out and see what’s wrong with it. It’s still under warranty.

I am at peace knowing that I will never be without heat or hydro. My phones will always work. My frozen goods will be safe. I will have hot water. And I will have hot meals, as well! There is no substitute for peace of mind! Knowing that my moments will always be stress free, whatever happens, I can add years of happiness to my life, without worry! I chose Kohler from Paramount because it’s local and any issues would be dealt with in a timely manner because they are close by. When I wasn’t sure how to check the oil, someone was at the house the next day, topped it up, saving me the trouble. Happy, feeling safe, no stress! A perfect 10/10!

About 18 months after professional installation of Kohler 20RCA/200ASE generator package, the system had electronic failure. Emergency electrician found a board had fried. He was not a Kohler dealer so he could not repair it, but could get power rerouted so HVA worked again. Tried to arrange repair under Kohler warranty but no one would come. Called Kohler and explained difficulty, but got no help. Some email promises arrived, which again resulted in nothing. System remains broken and shut-off almost 2 years later. The Kohler engines are great. But the electrical power management is not. Low quality, 3rd party add-on. Don't make my mistake and buy for the engine. Buy for quality electricity handling/management -- get a Briggs & Stratton. Kohler is unreliable and has no service or warranty coverage.

We installed our new generator at our new home on Gull Lake. We are in an area that has frequent outages lasting up to a week at a time. This unit starts flawlessly and has eased our minds greatly. This was the perfect choice for us and we would never build a home without this option.

Kohler is good. I live off-grid and need some source of reliable power when the sun and wind isn't there. I bought the generator from a third party, and so far, so good.

I've been happy with our KOHLER generator. It's doing the job. The only thing is that it is a propane generator and it uses a crap ton of propane when it runs. It's not very fuel efficient. Every time it starts up, it runs for about five hours to charge the batteries. It uses a phenomenal amount of propane for that length of time. Other than that, I'm very satisfied. I would recommend it.

Got a 20K generator since 2 years and it work great, but the motor had to be change after 12 months. It take less than a month and everything went alright. My only concern this year, is the current come and goes in a blink, the generator start and stop in 20 second kind of. My questioning is, could that damage the generator to start and stop, sometimes 5 to 10 times in an hour? Thanks.

Electrical service is undependable in the winter time and during tornado season. We're doing okay with our Kohler generator. Kohler seemed like a good brand. I have peace of mind having the generator. So far, so good.

Not long after I got the generator, there was a power outage and I called them and they came right out and took care of it. I never had any other problems that I'm aware of. It'd be nice if the generator was a little quieter than they are when they run. But that's just the nature of the beast.

The installers of our Kohler generator were great. They came over within a day. They came when they said they were gonna do it. The generator looks great and works great. They check it every six months. It was expensive, though. But I like the 10-year warranty that I got for free.

From start to finish the installation by Florida Power Solutions was first class and professional. Since being installed a few years ago the 20 KW unit has worked perfectly with nothing needed other than recommended oil changes and service. Since being installed we went thru a major hurricane, and we felt so secure knowing we had the Kohler ready if we needed it!

We were a little bit disappointed that it cost so much to have a KOHLER generator installed. Normally, it's the cost of the product times two. Because of this COVID thing, it went up to three times the amount, which was a bit excessive. But we only have one KOHLER generator place in town. So we were stuck. But being in the nursing home field, so many people swear by the KOHLER Generators that they actually last longer and they're quieter and a better deal than the Generac.

Vendor (FL Power Solutions, FL) is competent and has provided good service per maintenance agreement. The unit is disappointingly loud. Recently, it failed to notify me via internet WI-Fi when commencing its surveillance run. That issue needs to be corrected. I would appreciate guidance on how that can be done. Thank you.

I've had some concerns with our KOHLER home generator. One time, I did use it. And I had a lot of things on, but it's 20,000-watt unit. And the thing started sounding funny, so I shut it off. And I sent a message. All the power came back on. And they didn't come out to see what it was doing. I should have recorded it and played it back to them.

I liked Kohler's 10-year warranty and the name. So far, so good. It works when we needed it. It tests every week.

I owned a Generac for 23 years and it was worn out. It needed replaced. I did my research and instead of buying another Generac, I bought a Kohler because the technical information was more readily available. And also, even though it might be priced a little higher, it's a superior product. It works very well. The reps were helpful when I bought the Kohler generator.

I got a better deal on the Kohler generator than I did on the Generac. I've been pretty pleased with it so far. The installation guys did a pretty good job. I got it from Service Professor and they disconnected my doorbell transformer when they put the transfer switch in. So I gotta call them. But overall, the experience has been very positive. We were gone this past winter, but my son was in town. We had about 104-hour power outage and it was really nice to not have to worry about the house freezing. If I had it to do over again and if the price were the same, I would get the Kohler.

Living in Oklahoma, everybody should come with a home generator. I went with Kohler because of the name. I've known about Kohler for so many years that it popped into my head as a quality product. I like that with having a generator, I get to have light, heat and the refrigerator still running and not getting your meat spoiled and also the media, the television are available too.

I live in Michigan, so outages happen in the wintertime, but it was starting to happen frequently in the summertime. So, I decided to get a generator. I had worked in a hospital and some other large places who had Kohler generators, and I felt like if a hospital has a Kohler generator, then it's gotta be fairly good quality. I'm familiar with the Kohler name as well. They're a company that's been around for a long time. They have a good reputation. Their customer service is very good. It's just I would have liked the generator to have been cheaper.

The generator gives us peace of mind when the power might go out. Reliable, Annual service, Well installed. No problems. Recommended to others. The Generator has not failed a weekly test checkup. It is handsome, attractive and quiet. Others have a look inside and outside of the machine. The Propane fuel is checked and filled. MY house is isolated and would otherwise not be accessible in the winter.

Since installation we have had several relatively short community power outages and our system performed on cue. We have had none over 4 hours and hope not to but have confidence ours should perform as expected. We have had no service issues which is unlike a neighbor who had another brand installed.

The reps were very professional and the installation went well. It wasn't cheap but having the generator has given us peace of mind.

I am very pleased with my Kohler Generator. We've had our generator for 2 years and have had no issues. All the systems work fine and we are pleased we added the OnCue Plus. It allows me to keep a check on the generator via the cell phone. I was so pleased with our generator that I recommended to my neighbor and he purchased one.

A seal failed and the generator was out of warranty by one week and I had to pay for the repairs. I feel Kohler should have covered this cost as it was only one week out of warranty. Kohler is a large company, and this small cost would have been nothing to them.

This Koehler whole house generator is excellent. Starts every time…one weekly test runs for 20 minutes automatically every Saturday and when the power goes out on our road (which is common) our whole house still has power. I highly recommend Koehler generators to anyone who needs a reliable power source when the primary power goes out. You will not be disappointed with this purchase.

Generator works well and is reliable in times of emergency. Wireless access should be standard and not offered as an option with an additional expense. App is good and provides a lot of information. Expensive, but well worth the peace of mind that I will never be without power again.

We waited 10 months to have the project completed and the permit closed out by the county. The generator worked a however, the county had issues with the install. The submitted plans did not properly saw the place the generator was actually installed. The company did respond to my inquires - but it felt like a doling around getting the permit closed out.

I have given up on the OnCue Plus app, as I go to the effort of connecting/logging in and it regularly forgets my login and has me relogin, despite having previously had my biometric login secured. I am relatively happy with the generator itself, but no so with the software that I would typically use to interact with the generator.

The experience was great, no issues except the required location of the transfer switch. I wasn't told in advance that my underground service would have to be abandoned and that the switch would be on the side of the house and highly visible. I had to pay a contractor to build and enclosure to hide it.

Have never had any problems with the unit. The unit runs 20 minutes each week and I maintain the unit yearly. Gives a great sense of security knowing that you always have electricity!! A great addition to your Real Estate investment. A valuable asset knowing that your refrigerator, heat, air conditioning and everything else keeps running when the electricity goes out!!

All in all the unit has performed well, but I had to replace the main controller at 21 hours which was a pain getting a Kohler qualified technician to work on it in Hockley, Texas. Finally got a tech from the Houston area. Generac is the main generator company in Texas and the Houston area, and it is hard to get any service or parts for Kohler near here.

Fortunately we haven't had to depend on our Kohler generator since it was installed. Its weekly maintenance run is louder than I had expected but the 20 minute run time goes by fast. Installation was done very professionally and efficiently by Home Power Systems. The Kohler generator seems to run very well.

We have had a few issues with the smart switch and the motor. Wished I had went to competition now… but recently it has started to work as I expected. My unit will be 3 years old in February. I wish I had researched a little more as far as service and general maintenance. Maintenance is a lot more than expected.

The product cycles properly for testing. Have yet to experience blackout. One thing I am not happy with is the inability to reconnect with the iPhone app to monitor generator function since changing internet provider. AirCo service rep could not resolve this problem even at my expense. I need an access/start up code/password for this to work. I don’t believe I should pay for another one. If KOHLER would provide me one I could do it myself. VA

The only thing I am not happy with is how the composite fiberglass enclosure of the generator is degraded over just a few years. UV rays have dulled the enclosure and it looks terrible. Customer service has no suggestions except to sand it down and paint it so not happy with that but the generator has performed flawlessly.

I have my Kohler Generator at my lake house. I feel so much better knowing the house is protected. I have had the generator for at least 3 years and it has always worked perfectly. My next door neighbors first said it was too loud when it exercised every Thursday at 5 pm, but they are OK with it now. I really have no experience with it that has not been good. I have it serviced and it performs.

This generator has less than 60 hours after almost all weekly exercising after 4 years. When finally needed, the stator was bad. Burnt windings. Factory defect. Huge two man job to replace. Two service techs are in their 4th hour now tearing it completely apart. I requested from Kohler a new unit due to the extremely low hours and they refused and have indicated they won’t even participate in the labor to replace the stator. It’s pretty hard to endorse a product when they won’t stand behind it due to a factory defect and so few hours. I’m gonna gag when I see their bill and will share if allowed to on this site.

I called Kohler and they told me to get ahold of a local rep that could install the generator for me. Airco Service, a local HVAC company, did it almost immediately and they did it perfectly. I mostly dealt with Airco Service. However, there was a $750 rebate available, and I didn't get it for a while, so I called Kohler. I had to deal with customer service to try to get that back, and they ended up sending me 650. It took three calls but it's no biggie. They were great.

I liked KOHLER's reputation and price and they had a rebate. They also offered for free an extended warranty included. We had some outages that we just don't wanna deal with anymore. So far, we're very satisfied with our KOHLER generator. They're all a little bit loud. They sound like a lawn mower but it's acceptable. When it does run, it doesn't really bother me. You get used to hearing it. It seems like it's very reliable.

The Kohler generator tests itself dependably on the minute every weekend and we have a maintenance contract. The techs come out and check the oil. So far, we haven't needed the generator but it's doing what it's supposed to do. I would highly recommend it because it's been problem-free since it was put in. My mom was living here with us and she was very ill. She has since passed but we needed to have oxygen for her all the time so it was a matter of needing to have that backup. And during the whole time that my mom was alive, the generator gave us a great deal of “one less thing to worry about.” In terms of peace of mind, it was there and I'm happy it was.

The Kohler Generator has worked great. Everything has been good. As soon as the electricity goes out, there will be 10 seconds of no power and then I'm up. I'd recommend it.

They did exactly what they said when they said they were gonna do it and at the price they said they would do it for. When the power went out, the generator came on. Then when the power came back on, the generator went off. It was seamless. It was exactly what we were looking for.

We used the generator for six hours in a row this year and it worked very nicely. When we lose power, the generator starts after two or three seconds and the power is back. So, it's very, very convenient. There was an instance when I was in France and then I got a message from KOHLER that there was a shortage in my house. Then the power was reestablished thanks to the generator. But the generator is quite expensive. I am able to afford this kind of system, but this is not possible for every people.

Last fall, new lines were being put in on an old road and at times, power had to be shut off. The Kohler generator worked good. It was still running at 12 o'clock at night while the guys were working. And once a month it'll come on, on a Saturday. So, we've had no problems with it.

I purchased a Kohler generator in 2013 right after Superstorm Sandy. I purchased Kohler over Generac because it was supposed to be a much more reliable brand. I had the unit serviced twice a year to keep it running smoothly. However, in October of 2022, less than 10 years after owning it, I was told by my service company that it needed repairs that would cost about $4,000 and I would probably be better off replacing it. I was very disappointed that, with what was supposed to be a high quality brand, would need to be replaced in less than 10 years after maintaining it thoroughly.

We got the 20-volt in-home generator. We lost our power on Sunday and, within 10 seconds, the power came back on. I'd have to turn it off and add oil. But it'll run for three to four days. It's perfect. It's peace of mind. It was expensive, but well worth the investment because when we sell the house, it'll be something that's an asset that we have with the house.

My buddy told me that as soon as I get a standby generator, I won't have any power outages. And that's exactly true. Other than the Kohler generator running its weekly cycle for a few minutes, I haven't had any use for it. But when it does fire up, it takes 30 seconds and then, it comes on. I can hear it spin and try to start and then it starts up. The system almost sounds like it's putting a load on it. Because it'll start out halfway noisy and then it'll kind of quiet back down a little bit. Near the end of the cycle, it seems to ramp up a little bit. At this point in the game, I have no reason to believe that Kohler is not a good product and that it's not gonna do what it's supposed to do.

So far, my Kohler has been working just fine. It's nice and quiet when it's functioning. It pops on and it runs as long as it needs to, to charge the batteries back up and then it shuts itself off. If we didn't have the generator, and it's dark and gloomy for three days in a row with the solar, we would have absolutely no power at all.

The sales rep from KOHLER came out and gave us a quote. We wanted a generator because we live out in the country and never have power. We had to use the generator once. It worked very well. The power was out for 30 hours, and we had power. We are very happy with it.

We're getting up in the years and we have a sump pump in our basement and if that doesn't work right, then we get water all over the basement and we're not able to do anything about it at our age. We can't do a lot of things. So, we thought if we had a generator, then it wouldn't matter whether we're home or we were away. At least there would be power to push the sump pump. It was a precautionary thing on our part. We've used our KOHLER generator twice for about 10 minutes. So far, it's very good.

I would have to say this is the worst purchase I have made in the 20 years I have been in business. I had purchased an 80 KW commercial generator (about $50,000) for my business because my business is located in an area where we have frequent power outages. It started to act up soon after the warranty ran out, which was about 3 years ago. The problem began with the generator not functioning properly during a routine power outage. At the time, I called the Kohler installer who came out to do routine maintenance and was unable to diagnose the problem.

Streib Electric did a stellar job of installing my Kohler generator. It wasn't the most least expensive bid but the value I got from installation and not owning a Generac were what I wanted. The generator exercises every Tuesday at 10:30, and I get it on my phone app, the OnCue Plus. It tells me when it runs and comes off and on. It gives me the history when it runs. It also tells me when I'm connected to the main power and when I'm not. It'd be one year this month since I got it so they're coming out and doing the service on it next week.

KOHLER has always been perfect and the unit I got from them is very dependable unit no matter what. It's a little more expensive, but I own a construction company and my electricians would refuse to put in anything but KOHLER. Right now, with my experience and with what I have done multiple times is since I put my KOHLER generator in, I have pushed at least three to four people towards the KOHLER generator and they installed them to date. I've worked with CAT generators, Generac generators, and Multiquip. Multiquip's quality is right up there and CAT is fairly good quality. But KOHLER competes with CAT and Multiquip.

Kohler did what they said they were gonna do. They came out and did a good job installing it, all but one kid who decided to glue some pipe together on top of the generator, which left all the glue that he dripped all over it. Other than that, I like everything about it. The generator has been in use a bit, and it works great.

Kohler is a good company and the $750 rebate helped. I got my rebate within six months. The generator comes on once a week to let me know that it is working. I would recommend them.

The company that installed our Kohler generator has done a good job. When it came time when we were ready for them to install the generator, they came out and did their work. There wasn't waiting for them. When the power goes off, the generator operates instantaneously. It also comes on once a week in a test mode. So far, so good.

I've installed three KOHLER Generators and my experience was excellent with each one. The size of the generator was right. I wanted a two-cylinder engine instead of a one cylinder. And Kohler seemed to have the best package for that and the best sound quality. It has an automatic transfer switch so we don't have to go out and start it. It does it automatically. And if I'm not home, my wife doesn't have to worry about if there's backup power.

Based on Accurate Power's recommendation for the profile that I was trying to meet that the KOHLER generator that I got, which is a very big one, seemed to be the best for it, and I was happy. KOHLER has a good reputation. We run the generator automatically every week. Two months ago, we lost power in the middle of the night for an hour. Power loss is no big deal, but I noticed the generator running. It proved to me that it does its job on three other occasions when the power went out temporarily. So, I have a lot of confidence that if and when we have hurricanes, it becomes important that it will do its job. I'm looking forward to it lasting for a long time.

I had a generator that failed after a few years. Because of the type of transfer switch I had, KOHLER was the only one that would work. I start my generator manually because I'm not always at my house. It automatically transfers, but I manually start it and I can turn it off because I don't wanna listen to it at night. Then if I'm not home, I don't want it running. The way I have it set up, it does about 90% of the house, not at all at one time, but it powers up lots of stuff. I've used it for days at a time.

I wanted a generator in case power goes out, and I looked at the GenX one. Been in the industrial business for a long time, so I need Kohler-built generators. I just didn't know how expensive they were. I got on their website, looked, and filled out the information. Then, I had the individual call me and come out and give me a quote. From start to finish, everything was really good. It was a lot of money for it. Four other people that I know have got the same generator now, and they went through a different source, and it was less money for them. But they did a superior job of setting it up. Our power goes out every once in a while, and the generator kicks on. It goes right on after about four seconds, and we don't really notice much difference except that you have to reset the clock.

I looked at what KOHLER had to offer for almost the same amount of money, and the generator was a far superior product. I drove someplace to look at one and I was very impressed with the heft of the product. It's well put together and thought out. And I heard it run and it was very quiet. It's 30 RCA and liquid-cooled, and runs long. It runs itself up every Saturday morning for 12 minutes. We've had three power failures that have been long enough to start it up. The longest one was an hour and a half. And it started right up, switched over and worked fine. I wasn't sure we were using it until my wife came in and said, "I think the generator is running."

The people that we deal with here in Colorado have been very good and nice to work with. The rep's husband is well versed in the KOHLER Generators and ours works good. It didn't take him long to hook it up. And he said the generator and inverter work together. So, he went back, looked and found out, came and wired it into the inverter and it has been wonderful. He told me how to reset the inverter and it worked great.

I got a new KOHLER generator as a replacement for another KOHLER generator that was installed in my house back in 2011. The 2011 didn't last too long. We had to change it, because it looked like the carbon was wearing out, and they couldn't find pieces for this generator. Actually, this was a replacement for a new one. They were saying those generators came out with defects. So, this one is like the one that I had before, but it runs in fewer RPMs, and they say it's more efficient. I'm living in the mountains. When the power goes out if a storm comes, you need a backup in order to live with no issues in the mountain. This generator that we have right now saved us in an emergency one night. The generator goes automatically. When the power goes out, the switch automatically turns it on. I get notified by email that my generator is going on.

I was replacing an old generator and I thought that Kohler was a better choice than the guys I had before. I'm happy with the generator. We tend to lose power often so it has kicked on before and I haven't had any problems. But I'm not happy that there's an ability to monitor it through an app and I have not been able to figure out how to make that work.

We bought our new Kohler generator due to a recommendation from Wayne ** who also owns a Kohler generator. So far, we are loving the two times we have used it. The transition from electric to the generator is barely noticeable. We are both retired and like the conveniece of not having to get up during the night to refill the fuel or have fuel cans filled.

The generator works great. It's a reliable equipment. I still have power when nobody else in town does.

Having a generator gives us peace of mind, but the first generator that we got was a lemon. We got a Kohler for our second generator, and we've had to use it once. We're very satisfied. Kohler has a great reputation. My wife works in the medical center and I know a lot of people there. Kohler is the generator that most of the hospitals use for their backup generators, so that said a lot. The maintenance on Kohler is not as frequent as with other brands as well.
