Our water tastes good with the Kinetico water systems. But I have noticed that when I drink it, especially if it's at night, it makes me more thirsty. I don't know if there's salt in it or we have to get it rebalanced through the reverse osmosis. Also, the filters for the RO system seem difficult to get. They should make those filters more readily available for replacements.

We needed a replacement for our softener after the storm. We called Kinetico and they came out to give us a quote and the installation was schedule for 02/22/21. On that day, nobody showed up. I called later that day and I spoke to Chad. He said they didn’t have the part and he wasn’t apologetic about it. They said I should call back in two weeks to see if the parts have arrived. I recommended this company to a friend and it got installed in 2 days. I called back in 2 weeks and I was scheduled for 03/13/21. On that day, I got a call that this would be a new installation not a repair and they rescheduled again for the 03/16/21. On the 16th, the tech Jeffery showed up and he said he could not repair the water softer and above all did not have the part. So why did he come???? Now he is saying I got a wrong quote from Chad. I’ve been trying to reach Chad but he has not been picking my calls. Can someone please contact me to fix my water softener.

I have a CC208S missing inlet/outlet adapters, called and emailed to get replacement parts 5335D or the complete kit 1483A. A couple weeks after my initial call I finally got in contact with a installer Mike ** at Kinetico az who told me that the part is old and they are not made anymore, and that they will not have any and to try my luck on eBay. There is no place on the web where I can order them. This water softener was a waste of time and money and completely useless without the adapters.
Hello Ian,
Thanks for reaching out. We'll touch base with your area dealer to see about getting assistance to you.
The in/out adapters are used to install the softener. Has it not been installed since 2018? These adapters are not a part of the softener, so the unit was not missing parts. They are not sold as part of the softener because every installation is different and will not use the same adapters. They may be a different size, material, threaded or glue in.
All adapters are still available as none of the many softeners we offer could be installed without. We'll touch base with the area dealer regarding this matter to help get your softener installed. We'll communicate with your further using the email address you provided.
Thanks for giving us this opportunity to regain your confidence. Kinetico Customer Support can be reached directly at 800.944.9283 or customersupport@kinetico.com

One of our plumbers suggested getting in touch with Kinetico. We weren't happy with the water quality. We wanted to improve it. The plumber said this would be the best thing to do. We took his advice, and we've been happy with it. We put a second one in. We have another house on the property here. We put that in as well, so my sister-in-law can enjoy that. On the second installation, they were supposed to come back and check it out again after a month. I don't think that happened. I've changed the filter myself. It's not a difficult thing to do. I've also done the backwashing of the system. The system's in pretty good shape.

Kinetico was a referral from a friend of ours. We had visited their home and the taste of their tap water was so much better than ours. So, we started talking to them about their system. They showed it to us. After the rep came out, we realized that that's the right one for our family. We've been really happy with it. We noticed the difference bathing within the the next day, even, after the tank had filled. When we requested our salt to be delivered, at first, we did have an issue when we were told that the salesperson gave us incorrect information that we were out of the delivery area. But they've been great about accommodating us and not making us come and get it, going above and beyond to make sure we get what we need.
Hi Jodi,
Thanks for sharing this good news. We wish you many years of great water!

We were noticing stains in our appliances. We stopped in at Kinetico's showroom in Parkersburg. We'd already had a water sample done so we knew what the concentration of iron and manganese was in our water. They admitted that their test didn't even go down that low. We purchased the water softener. The installation was good. They put things in that we hadn't paid for. I already had a whole house filter that was 5 microns, and the installer was wanting to take it out and put in a 20-micron filter. I said, “Well, why would you do that?”
Anyway, they put their filter housing in at no cost to us. And instead of buying filters off of them, I go to Lowe's, and I get the 5-micron filters and stick them in there. He said, “Well, you'll probably have to change them more often, okay? But it's keeping more stuff out of your resin tank.” Since having the system from Kinetico, it's harder to get soap off in the shower. You use less soap. We don't see the stains and stuff in toilets pilots and things like that that we did before. As far as the taste of the water, I notice it more when we go to the neighbors and drink their water. I realize how good we have it at home.

We got the Kinetico Premier Series. We were recommended by our plumber. We wanted a new water softener unit in the house. We took advantage of the free water test with Kinetico. It was important to us. We would not have signed the contract if we didn't know about the water test. Now, the water is softer. When you wash your clothes, they’re not so rough. When we did get the water softener put in and we’re putting the salt in, we had a little bit of problem with salty water at first but that eased off. When we had a problem or a question, Kinetico has been extremely good about getting back with us. We would recommend Kinetico. We've been very happy with it.

My daughter was having really bad eczema and the back of her legs were completely raw. Once we got the water softener, those spots cleared up on her. She hasn't had any problems with it since. We had her on prescription cream and everything before we had the water softener. But now, we don't. We've had a great experience. We've had the system a couple of years and it's been great. The competitor's stuff is garbage. I've worked on water systems my whole life, on high-pressure pumps. And these things, with timers and everything else, they're ridiculous because they cycle for no reason. This Kinetico is based on gallons, which is a much better system. You lose hundreds of gallons of water with the other systems for nothing. I have a saltwater system, the one with the two separate tanks and then a big drum. I also have a K5 hooked into that too. The water here is contaminated from Dupont, and the town is worried about the C8 content. They filed it at court. They claim they test it out. I said, "Yeah, like I really believe you idiots." So, I put that in it. I got five filters in. I got the ones that take out all the toxins, and I got the pre and post- calcium filter. I got a neighbor that comes out and then grabs our water off. He said, "Daddy hates his water."
The only thing I don't like is the little plastic clear indicator on top of where the shaft comes up in it is vague. You can't tell where the things are. For a little more money, if they can put up an electronic gallon on there, I would like it a lot better. Because there's a certain point that you don't know if you got 100 or 10 gallons left. Make it an option to put a little electronic thing in there that counts gallons. Other than that, I'm very happy with the system. I recommend to people to put Kinetico in. I said, "If you do want a good system, you have to deal with the headaches."

We had Cartwright Plumbing in Cheyenne and I told their guy that I had a lot of problems over the years with water softeners. They recommended Kinetico and we have been completely satisfied. It keeps our water soft and it's very low-maintenance. We're a food and beverage operation and we have three systems now that handle a ton of volume. But lately, when we pour a glass of water out of the sink, we get this kind of funny-tasting water, almost like there's some cloudiness and maybe some salt in it. It happens once or twice a week. Other than that, we run a lot of water through these units and they have not let us down. We've tried all the major brands and there’s no other comparable system.
Hi Dan,
Thanks for the great review. The periodic cloudy water could be air in the lines or perhaps a shot of salt is backing up through the system during regeneration. Please connect with your installer as a follow up to have it investigated.

My neighbor has a similar Kinetico system from TLC, who did the installation. I put a lot of stock in his word and I went down to visit them and it seemed like it's a good fit. We had a more of a cheapie water softener from Sears, and I wanted something a little bit better and a little bit more reliable and professional. I didn't need to buy the Kinetico that day but I did buy it that day. Now, the water quality seems to be excellent. I'm going through salt a little quicker than I was before. So I know something's happening. It makes a lot of noise. It seems like it’s on about half the time, but TLC tells me that's normal.
As far as installation, TLC did a good job, except they kind of rushed it. I wanted to put it in a different location. They put it in another and I had to pay another $700 for them to come back out and move it. I thought that was a bit of a rip-off. I didn't really want it where they wanted to put it. I guess I could have said, "Don't put it in." But I did. I thought that they were moving for free. Other than that, I don't have any complaints at all about Kinetico. I'm a happy camper.

I have a Kinetico system in my office building that's been there over 30 years now and so, it has held up. I build probably two to five homes a year, and we put them in almost every one of our homes and recommend them to our customers. Everything's been going good as far as the people who put them in. A bigger company bought them out so it’s a little harder because they’re bigger but they do a good job with everything. I have not had any complaints about it except the prices going up.
We use the purifiers underneath our sinks and the softeners with the reverse osmosis. We can make coffee, and we can use it for cooking and tea. It’s quality to be able to use in the kitchen, in the showers and doing laundry. You can tell instantly if your salt runs out or you have anything off as far as setting up and keeping your faucets clean. It works well.

But they didn't tell me that when they rated whatever size I needed, they gave me the one that was too small. It was at the top of what it could handle. I needed something bigger. I had to pay more, and they reinstalled a bigger unit. I wish I knew more about the system. I have to call a company to come out to make sure that everything is running okay. That would be something that they could have taught me. I just wish that they would have gone over. I know to clean out the water, the salt and everything, but I would like to be a more aware of how to adjust it if I had to or just to make sure it was working correctly. Other than that, I had a softener before but I had a lot of spots on my dishes. I don't have that now. And the water is much softer.

We replaced an existing softener. There was a device that tends to get crusted up with salt. If it’s jammed, then it doesn't soften, so I have to maintain that and pour hot water to get it out, and make sure the float valve is loose and that cylinder isn’t encrusted. And after I fix that, then it’s fine. Kinetico is great at installation. We also put it in a carbonated water system and Kinetico's reps helped out with running that through the drinking water so half a side’s carbonated, half a side’s filtered water. Other than that, I had some trouble getting ahold of people for a while. We had to buy something additional and I had trouble getting a callback. But it hasn't been a problem in the last two years. The system was installed August 2019. The first strike was a few weeks after the system was installed. I discovered the salt water brine had been draining into the crawl space under my house. I ended having to go to Lowe's to buy tubing to run the drain line to the appropriate pvc drain on the other side of the water heater. The pvc pipe on the side of the water heater turned out to be a vent.
Strike 2 was a few months after the system was installed and I upgraded the kitchen faucet where the cold water line was split off made it overly complicated to install the new faucet with standard compression fittings. Strike 3 I was led to believe there was little to no interest on the financing option if it was paid off within a couple years. Later I found out I was actually getting charged $20 a month in interest. Had I known that would be the case I would not had the system installed in the first place. Your mileage may vary but this was my experience.

I can't use those little pods in a dishwasher anymore because it's too much. I don't have to clean all that white gunk off my faucets as well. My drinking water is so nice, and my ice is clear. It's all-around better. I tell everybody about Kinetico. They are great. Anytime I call them, they're right there. They even came out after the fact and checked everything to make sure the system was still working the way it's supposed to. Signing up was very easy too.

It was a positive experience with the lady who came and sold the Kinetico system to us. When it was put in, I noticed the difference right away because I have a beauty salon in my home and my water was orange. The system was absolutely fantastic because I was ready to have to quit work because the water was that bad. The system was very good and new water lines have been put in so our water isn't like it was before. Kinetico is not cheap and it's not cheap buying their filters. And now that our water is way better, we do not have to change our filter as much as we did. It's very good that way but with the cost, they could do a complimentary check on their water a year after they put it in. I was thinking if our system is still what we need, being we don't have the terrible water anymore.

They have to be replaced more often if you don't have something filtering the water. My hot water heater was also having to be replaced more often.

They came up here and made a presentation. Based upon that, we decided to buy it. The price was a bit high and the installation took a little longer because they got lost coming up here. But other than that, it went through smoothly. The customer service is fine. When they say they’re gonna be here, they get here. I have them come by once a year to check out the system but having a tech to come up here for that is $300. That's starting to get on the steep side. There is also a bit of a problem we haven't seemed to be able to get fixed and that is the white residue on the faucets. It's like a calcium deposit. When I decided to go with them, we scheduled that and then the install crew came out and they did a nice job. They ran some water piping for me a little bit differently to clear up my wall. You have usually hard water with well water and hard water's not great for your house. We were checking out several types of companies and Kinetico was one that was close by. We kind of compared them with Culligan and I liked what Kinetico was offering better. It's not based on electricity. From what I understand, this one works on its own. If there was a power outage, we wouldn't have to be concerned about it starting back up again. The price is always more than what you want to spend but maintenance-wise, it wasn't going to require a lot. Also, it's not supposed to use so much salt so that was another thing we liked.
With Kinetico, it's easier to keep the shower cleaner. We don't need as much soap because I can use a lot less soap in the laundry. We use less products to clean things. We had them do a setting that was reasonable so it's not like we feel slippery all the time. I didn't want to feel like I could never get soap off my hands and I don't feel like that. It is different than the way it was with hard water because you really feel dry quicker with hard water.
Reviewed Dec. 27, 2020
I had reviewed at least three systems and we had the demos performed at home. The main driver for landing on Kinetico would be three things. One is there is no requirement for electricity so it operates on its own. Two is the amount of water it takes to recycle itself is very small compared to other units. Three is the warranty. The others got five years limited warranty whereas Fred, the local franchise owner, told me that Kinetico carries about 10-year warranty which is something that was really enticing.
I got a concern about that warranty piece though. When they installed the under kitchen cabinet unit, it seems there was wrong installation so there was a break on the unit. It started dripping water. It took about a couple of years before the problem could surface. When we complained, they came and replaced the unit but I had to pay almost 300 bucks covering the labor cost. When they agreed that the installation itself was too tight that led to the breaking of the product, I don't know why I should be paying for the labor cost. If it is a product issue, I get it. But even if it is an installation issue, either Kinetico or the local franchise owner should have absorbed that because it's not my fault. They confirmed they didn't see any usage issue that led to the problem and they didn't see any manufacturing defect.
Kinetico could hold their local dealers accountable. I did reach out to Kinetico about this and they raised their hand saying that I needed to go talk to the local franchise. I went for this thinking that it's Kinetico that I trust more than the local franchise agents or the owners but that's where they let me down.
Hello Shree,
We thank you for appreciating the merits of the Kinetico product line. Here's wishing you many years of great water!

I had my Kinetico system for four years. It was expensive but it was great. I included it with the sale of my home and ended up going with Culligan which I'm happier with because their salt tank is so much larger. Also, Culligan offers something like a rental and my ROI factoring in the rental price for Culligan at 50 bucks and month was 10 years if I buy a Kinetico. Even all the maintenance is included. So, I can rent a complete replacement for the system I sold. Unless you know for sure that you're gonna keep your home for over 10 years, buying a Kinetico system is kind of stupid to do. With Kinetico, you also pay $100-something for a filter and every couple of years, $600 for a resin change. When I rent, I don't have to pay for any of that.

I was after having soft water consistently. The biggest problem is if you let it run out of salt, then I notice it. I have two different systems. One from my shop, one from the house. The one here in the shop, I might go several months. In the house, it's more like once a week. Kinetico is the best, but it's also going to cost the most. Some days, had a residential situation, we would use very little water. And other days, a large amount. So, it was an old system. On the days of large use, I felt like it was underperforming. With Kinetico, it's fairly consistent, straight across.
Hi Daniel,
Yes, Kinetico softeners are designed to meet your water usage needs. If you don't use the water, they don't waste salt and water with unnecessary regenerations. If you use more than normal, they regeneration process automatically adjusts to insure you have no hard water break through.

We're having a house built and there will be a system put in when we have our house finished. We'll probably have it until we're dead. The company that we went through when we purchased the system set up an in-house payment plan for us when we moved in because we didn't have the funds available. I was extremely pleased.

I wasn't really satisfied with the Culligan system that we were using. We were going through too much salt and it didn't seem intelligent to recycle the filters, whether we were using it or not. Instead of a timer, we're going on gallons used. Culligan and Kinetico are the two big ones in the industry for residential use. Kinetico was the only system I knew that recycled on gallons used rather than electric timers.
We've always had a water softener and they both work fine. But Kinetico makes so much more sense economically and physically. Their service is fine and their salt is reasonably priced. You don't need near as much salt as you would with Culligan. You go on vacation and the Culligan keeps recycling because it's on an electric timer. You come home from a six-month vacation and you wouldn't have any salt in your filter system. You'll go through a couple of hundred gallons of water too. You'd have hard water and probably algae in the bottom of your sink. Whereas with the Kinetico, it just sits there if you don't use it. And when you turn the tap on, it recycles the filters every 250 gallons.
I wouldn't think of going with any other company unless I knew more about it. But I trust our local vendor here and I know him personally. I trust their product and the service is great. Lisa owns and operates the Kinetico here. I called her up and she made an appointment. She came out, checked out the system we had, and said, "No problem." She came out with one of her plumbers and in a half an afternoon, she fixed our system. They did a great job. They were quick and good clean up. They took care of what we needed and sent me a bill. We have the softener and the RO under the sink.

I had hard water. I wanted to look at something. I found out that Kinetico was gravity-driven and non-electric. It had come with high reviews too. The representatives from Kinetico are from the local area. They did a nice job. I have had to replace, unfortunately, just right at the time of past warranty. So, I'm Kind of disappointed in that but I did stay with the product. We purchased a new one. Since the installation, the major appliances, the dishwasher, and the washing machine do not get clogged up nor do the showers. That's a huge thing. We have softer water. Kinetico is a very good product. They are expensive, but you get what you pay for. It works very well.

I live in Colorado and the water is good but Jim, my ex-husband’s father and the original co-founder of Kinetico, said that I could still get some more stuff out of it. The salesperson, Asta, was sweet, very pleasant and informative. She came out and tested the water. It was an easy sale because I already knew what I wanted. I got the whole water filtration system. The installer came out and the installation was super fast. He was great and he knew what he was doing. Asta wanted to make sure everything was fine after it was installed and the only thing I had to learn was replacing the filters.
I was probably told in the beginning but I didn't realize there are certain filters that can stay in there for five years and there are those that need to be replaced every year. So, it was trial and error on that part. I would recommend that Kinetico make sure that people understand that and have a record of it. My kids love the water since we bought the system and I would highly recommend Kinetico. The product is great and the experience was pleasant and efficient. If they had a system down, the salesperson would come out and then a technician, and then a salesperson would follow up. Everyone was nice. It’s way better than buying a car.

I wanted a water softener but not some of the ones online that claim that they could run electricity through the wire and some magic would happen. The reviews that I read said that those were sketchy at best and showed that being electrical, they had a little CPU board and that board tended to be what would go out. Then, it was almost like buying a whole another unit just to replace that one board. Kinetico had a simple water softener system. People seemed to know what they were talking about when they came out here and aside from fitting into the space that I had, it didn't require any power, which was the main reason why I chose it.
Kinetico is all mechanical. It’s just how much water runs through the unit and it automatically does it. We had an incident in my city where the underground water was contaminated with PVCs. Kinetico was the only one who could filter that out. They had a reverse osmosis plus a special filter to filter those out, plus another filter to add back in some minerals. That convinced me because at that time, my grandchild was living with me. I have bottled water service deliver water for drinking but for all our cooking needs such as boiling spaghetti and making his milk, we use that water. We also use it for making espressos in the morning. The system is quiet and the installation was professional. So, I have no concerns or complaints about what they've done.
We’ve been using the water softener for closer to five years because at one time, I was renting it and then I decided to buy it. Then it has been at least two years with the reverse osmosis system with all these filters. I have not had to replace a filter yet. It's got a little indicator and then, I'm supposed to contact them and pay them $75 per filter. The last time I looked, it was only halfway to being time for it to replace its filters. I assume that one day, the unit will cease to work and then I'll have to contact Kinetico. They're expensive but they work. They do what they say and I have not had a single issue.

Before we bought the condo, there was no water softener in it and Commerce City water was notably bad. The water had a horrible taste. We had Kinetico install a reverse-osmosis and there has been a huge improvement with the water since then. We annually have the system checked and once a month, we add a little salt. The experience has been very good so far and we are we are totally satisfied with Kinetico.

When I first contacted Kinetico for a filter system, they put in one that was way too small for my house. We lived with that for about two years. I had their people come out and check my filters and do everything. %hey had come out twice prior and they never said anything. Then a new guy came out and asked if it was all that I had. I said yes and he said that it wasn't enough for the size of my almost 4,000 square-foot house. And I paid $2,800 for it. He bet that I was still having hard water and seeing calcium. I told him that I still did because I replaced the faucet and I saw it.
Kinetico ended up bringing a sales guy back out and they ended up upgrading it to a system. It was nice that they upgraded my system and gave me the full credit for what I paid for on the old system. But how many of my piping, my tubing, and my faucets have been ruined? How much of that shortened the plumbing life of my house? But, that was my complaint with them. The Kinetico service techs charge $250 to come out, change the filters, and do whatever they do. It's a little bit high. It's sad that if you're a customer of theirs that they charge that much to come out and do a service. My husband has now told me that I'm not to have them come out and do it. We will order the filters online and he will do it.

We've had the Kinetico soft water system and the water purification system for quite a while. When we moved from the community that we were living in before, Kinetico stored our system for so many months and then they installed it in our new house too. We were concerned with the hard water we have in this area and some of the chemicals and stuff that are put into the water to keep it safe and the transportation to get it to our house. But they figured out how to get it placed into our new home. They got it up and running and everything was great. I’m very satisfied with what they did. Their product is really good and our water tastes really good.

When I moved to the place where I'm living now, it is an unincorporated area and the water is from the well. I could see that the well water was pinkish and there were all kinds of issues. It left some really good amount of colorization in the toilets, the sinks, and everything else. So I asked someone to come and check it out. Most of the people who live here have their own water filtration system. So that made me look into Kinetico. Everything was good with the installation. We have the water purifier in the kitchen. The drinking water is absolutely good and there's no colorization nor smell.

Water softeners and filtration systems are something that I grew up on and I always preferred having them for my water. I learned about Kinetico because it was one of the service providers in my residential area and and I purchased the water softener and water filtration system from them. I did the free testing and it confirmed the reasoning for why I wanted to install a water softener. After that, the installation was a one-day process, which took a couple of hours, but it wasn't a nuisance. The installation team was good and respectful, too. Since then, my water’s softer and my drinking water is much cleaner. I can tell the difference, especially when I go out to a restaurant or go to some other place outside of my home.
But I've had maintenance issues on my system. Each year, I have to pay to swap out filters and cartridges on my water filtration system and softener, which runs a couple of hundred dollars each year. When I first signed up, I didn't know that that was going to be a recurring cost and I thought that when I installed it, that was a one-time fee and I was pretty much done. All I had to do was just maintain salt in the water softener and I thought that was only my expense. But I learned afterwards what the maintenance fees are for installing something like that and maybe it wasn't explained clearly upfront. So, I wasn't happy about that because I know other systems don't require yearly maintenance.
I've also had two different issues where I've had to have repairs on my systems. One was covered under warranty but it still did some damage to my cabinet. The second one was a manufacturer defect and I wasn't charged for the product to repair, but I was charged for them to come service it. For me to pay out of pocket for that seemed kind of ridiculous and I tried to escalate that issue with the managers. Also, I paid more than $5,000 for the equipment and when I'm spending that much money, I would want quality and the product to last a while without having to break down. But other than that, the system works and the quality of the water is topnotch.

We have a big environmental problem down here. For 30 years, the Air Force has been dumping their firefighting solution that they train with into the water system. A lot of people down here were catching cancer and different types of things. Pets were dying of cancer left and right. We were not to drink the water. If we did, we should get a reverse osmosis system. I went through the phone book and looked for a water system. I knew I didn't wanna go with Culligan so I was trying to find someone else to go with. I found Kinetico. I researched them online and they had some really good reviews.
Kinetico worked well. We had peace of mind knowing that we were not drinking something that was gonna cause us cancer. That was satisfying. Plus, our water tastes so bad that the reverse osmosis made it taste a lot better. The customer service was really good and I liked them. But we only had Kinetico for two years then we installed a different one. Kinetico is too expensive. It's okay for people that make 60,000 a year. But when you're living on social security, you can't afford the prices for the filters. It's $500 for them. After that first year, I was said that the next time the filters came, we would get them but we were gonna look at getting a system that didn't cost a lot and the yearly maintenance on it wouldn't be so pricey. Also, we couldn't rely on the guys that would come out to do the filters for Kinetico to be there the day or the time they said they would be.
Another thing is things didn't go as the rep told me. He told me one thing and the price was another thing. I was not told that I had to pay for this and this. The system ended up costing me a fortune. The water system I got now works just as good. When I changed over to this one, there wasn’t any change in the water flavor. I took a reading with the Kinetico system then when I put the new system in and the ratings were the same.

It was good setting up the appointment and it was great when the system was put in by this particular branch in Castle Rock. They're really good with the installation. But since then, the service has gone downhill pretty 'cause they've actually changed names. I got the whole house salt system and the drinking water system. But particular on the drinking water, it's like the razor blade theory where they give you the system for a decent price but the cartridges are very expensive in the future.

They came out and showed me different options. We got the system that has the two 40-gallon tanks. It just recycles as it needs instead of every night. We've had issues with our drain field. With the old system, 90 gallons, every single night it was going. Now, this only does whatever it is, whenever it needs. So when there's fewer of us here or we're not using as much water, we're out of town, it's not constantly recycling water. That was really important to me, that it's not constantly using my drain field. I really liked the people I dealt with when they came out and showed it to me. We knew our water was really hard. I'd gone through a couple of different units, and several times in between we’d stopped it. Then we decided we needed to get one. We found Kinetico and it seems to be working fine. The thing is we never hear from them to come and set up a change of filter. They say that if we have any problems, we go online. Well, they could contact me personally and set up an appointment even once a year. Then other than an email, they should tell us how it's going. Other than that, it's fine.
I could really tell a difference in the soaps and the creams that I use for laundry and for getting the stains out. They came out a lot better. Then in our hands and our body, the water felt smoother and not so dried out. Dishwashers, the same way. I use a rinse agent, but I don't have to add it very often, maybe once every six months. It just goes for a long time. So, that's getting our dishes clean and smooth, and not bumpy and streaked. The product is really good.

He set the tanks in place. I have two big tanks plus a salt tank. It also has a filter built into it. I went ahead and did the final piping to it, the water inlet and outlet. For doing the work, he gave me one of these large filters for the outgoing water. I go down there and buy the filters that I need. You'd call him up and tell him what you wanted. You'd knock on the door and they’d open the door and hand the filters to keep things going. Then they’d send you a bill and you’d send it off and pay it.
I recommend the unit to anybody that I talked to. I’m very happy with it. What I like about it is there’s no electricity running it. There used to be a company here called Sunnyside Soft Water. They had the old systems. They’re plugged in and use umpteen gallons to backflush it. This hardly uses too much at all, maybe 20 gallons, 30 gallons of water, and that’s about it.

The water company that served us draws their water from an artesian well so it has a lot of calcium in it. We had just redone our bathroom with tile and I didn't want all that calcium on the tile. We went with Kinetico because they seemed like the better deal. I was kind of impressed ‘cause the system had the mechanical, not the electrical switching device. The installers were great. When I had a problem, I called them. When they installed it, they had a weak solder joint. Water was in there. They were here within two hours. They're another county away and it was after-hours. They fixed it with no hassle. They did a good job.
One of the O-rings broke on the system and flooded our living room about two years after we had it. The insurance company and Kinetico are still bickering whether Kinetico is gonna pay for it or not. That was a little irksome but as far as how it’s hold up, it's okay. But I wish I'd gotten a higher-end system to do a little bit better job of filtering. I wish I got the one that filtered out lead. At the time I thought I didn't need it but I wish I had done it.

I live in Flint, Michigan and they poison those people up there with iron and crap. Our water infrastructure is so freaking old. The water test had a whole jar full of crap in the bottom. One of the reasons we started looking into a water system too, on top of that, is we were going through coffeemakers every two to three months. The water is so bad here.
I went with Kinetico because of the reviews and the YouTubes on it were a little bit better than the other systems. I also didn't have to worry about electrical to run it. The two guys that came out and put it in were great. I love my system and we enjoy it. I'm getting ready to have a different company put a 20-gallon tank in though because I found out that I can't use the water that comes out of the faucet for my saltwater tank. But I can use the water that comes out of the drinking water. I'm going to someone other than Kinetico to put it in because they overcharge for everything. They want $500 to put a 20-gallon system in and a different company is willing to do it for 350 bucks. I can buy my filter somewhere else for about $25 cheaper too.

We did the water softener with Kinetico and they did a good job. The guy set it up right. He told us we'd have to get a filter probably for it once a year. We did find one somewhere and got it and put that in. We put the system under the house and hopefully it does its thing. My skin's soft 'cause my water's soft. We check to make sure it has the salt in it. We put the salt pellets in it and it’s a big round one. Usually, we put about three bags at a time in it. It lasts us according to how many times it regenerates. Sometimes, it seems like it's not working right on the regeneration 'cause we never know when it's gonna regenerate. It seems like it's always regenerating. But it's like everything else you get. When they sell it to you, they're out of here unless you got a problem.

I did my research and concluded that Kinetico was the top-of-the-line. Also, I had two other companies come out and they were quoting systems that were not as elaborate as this one and they were terribly a lot more expensive. I got the one with the four mini tanks. I understood on the two-tank system that there were periods where you would not have the softener and that's why I went with it. I was also putting a tankless water heater in at the same time, that was the main reason I wanted the softener.
I've had the Kinetico softener for three or four years and I have no problems with it. My wife said of all the improvements I made in this house, that was the best one. They come out yearly. There's a small filter that needs to be changed out every year. This year, I had them change out the charcoal in the tanks itself. They're good about following up on maintenance and servicing.

All the system needed was filter replacement. If we had received owner's manual, we would have known it was the filter. It’s working fine now.

We had the reverse osmosis drinking water system installed in our home approx. April 2019. We’ve had the dealer out to investigate, repair and finally replace the system. We often had a dry spigot. We had NO drinking water often. This occurred about every 3 months. Finally they replaced The system. Here we are about 3 month after the system was replaced and AGAIN, we have no drinking water. However, this time the water dribbles out of the spigot. It took 14 monitors to fill half a pot of water to boil spaghetti noddle. That is unacceptable. I called the dealer on Friday but it was just after they closed for the weekend. I left a message and hope to hear from them on Monday. We are very frustrated as this was a large expense.

With everything going in the environment, I was trying to get the best water I can for the family, for everybody to be healthy. A lot of water filtration systems were electrical. I didn't like that. With Kinetico, whether we have a power outage or whatever won't interrupt the system because it runs off a water calculator. The reps I came in contact with were very professional and on time. They met my expectations. And I love the system. I like the taste of the water better now and I know the contaminants are very, very low, if any.

We moved into a new home and Kinetico came and hooked up our old system to our new house. I'm a big believer in Kinetico. It's a great product. It's the best out there. Here where I live in Tennessee, there's a lot of rock in the water. There are also high levels of chlorine in the water. Kinetico lets your appliances and clothes last longer and it's better for your skin when you take a shower. You definitely tell a difference when you wash your hair. It's an investment for the maintenance of your home. I like it. The dual system they have uses less water and less salt. I wish I had asked about drinking water system but we're gonna do that later down the road. We sold our drinking water system in our last house. We had a K1 which was fantastic and we're gonna get another one.
The only complaint I had was they showed up two hours late and they didn’t call me. A little timeliness is an improvement, or at least call the customer if you're not gonna be there on time. I've been in sales for many years. If I was gonna be late for an appointment, I made sure that my customer knew about it. Other than that, they came the day they said they would.

Where we're getting our water from, they switched to getting water that's mined out of the earth so it was fine calcium and magnesium. It was causing all my appliances to clog up every three months so I decided to do something. I got Kinetico's K5 water reverse osmosis system and we have a water softener system with them too. It's got charcoal with it so it's a filtering system. We've had good tasting water from the reverse osmosis system. I've dealt with them yearly to get maintenance and I've had no problems.

We chose Kinetico because it was non-electric. We're on well water and we have a lot of lines. We don't have hard water so much but we had sediment in it. It would build up in my washing machine and hoses. They have those little screens on them but it was just too much. You can pull the washer out to change it every now and then. We thought of trying Kinetico and got a system for the whole house. We have had those little filter things that you had to change every month. It was terrible. That didn't work so we went to this and I researched a lot of our water softeners.
When the guy came out, he convinced me and said it hardly won't use any salt at all. But we use a lot of salt. They've been out several times to fix the unit. They've replaced the whole head for the unit the last time they were out but we still have the same problems. It's a hit and a miss. One day, the water's good, but the next day, it's nothing. It's that drastic. I wouldn't recommend them at all. We're looking for another water softener now. I'm just tired of going with this. There wasn't any bad reviews on this company and that's a bad sign. They're taking them down or there's no place to put one.

That takes a lot of the stuff that I don't want in water out. We were sold on it and that's why we went with it. Our water tastes better and it's better for washing too. We have better baths and soap suds. And it does not clog up anything.

In this area, the water quality is not that bad. But at the time, we had young children and not a big fan of all the chlorine in the water, especially things we would bathe in and shower in. So, I wanted to remove a lot of hard metals from the water, and that was our number one concern. And then, we also have special filters that go into the kitchen for cooking water stuff that add a couple of minerals back and the reverse osmosis and all that stuff so that our drinking water is pure.
I researched all the other systems. One of them was RainSoft, another was Kinetico, and there were two other ones. I looked up four different companies. And then, I looked at their system, how it worked, what the maintenance on it was, comparing apples to apples sort of thing, and then of course, the pricing on it. Kinetico's technicians have always been very professional. I called Kinetico last year to come and change out the filter, and they charged a fair price. They checked the whole system over and I enjoyed working with them. I referred several people to Kinetico.

So, I'm not keeping up with it.
Hi George,
Just wanted to follow up with your review. We did attempt to reach you by both phone on 10/7 and emailed you on 10/8 to discuss your concerns.
Based off your review it sounds like your concerns centered more around the filter replacement frequency for your water treatment equipment since in that same review you said your water quality has been better since install. It is normal maintenance required of our K5 system to replace the pre, post, and auxiliary filters every 500 gallons used or annually, whichever comes first. One may liken this to changing your car's oil and filter every so many miles. How often a customer changes a softener prefilter will vary depending on influent water quality and usage. Generally the authorized Kinetico dealers will get a customer on a service and/or filter delivery schedule to make sure filters are up to date.
We've reviewed your concern with Fred at Aqua Pure Solutions, and he informed us that they visited with you this week and have worked out a maintenance solution moving forward. If you wish to discuss your experience any further with us, you may reach us at customersupport@kinetico.com or 800-944-9283. Thank you for choosing Kinetico!

It took us almost a year to get the system straightened out and get the right size in here and that was a struggle. We had a lot of problems with it and the technician said we didn't have the right system in the first place. But eventually, they made it right. So, everything's fine now and we've been so happy with the system. The system was $10,000. It was just second down from the most expensive. It's a series of a bunch of tanks. We thought we should put in a filtration system because we’re gone a lot and so the water sits in the pipes. Our contractor friend, Jeff, recommended Kinetico. Making the purchase was okay and they were fine. They came out and they did a good job, but the follow-up service is the disappointment. There was no follow-up this year to come change out the stuff for the little system that feeds the kitchen for the ice makers that's there. Then we had a water leak under the house. So I get the plumber out and he said, “I don't know who you bought this water system from, but they never turned it on. Here are the valves that are turned off.” So I said, “Well, are you sure?” I had crawled down in there with him and he said, “This is open. This is closed and these are closed. So there's nothing running through your system.” We haven't bothered with it because I guess if we were living without it, we didn't need it.
I could have called and raised hell about it, but I didn't because we haven't missed the product. But they should be more attentive. They should follow up. And we were thinking about calling Culligan. They just haven't come change everything out in the house. The last guy who was out really didn't know what he was doing. So, I put some salt in the tanks but never turned the water back on so the bypass was still running.

They came out and reset it up in the new home, flushed it, and cleaned it out because it had to sit for about six months before we moved in. They were fantastic.
The city water here in Murfreesboro’s pretty bad. I had a stainless steel dishrack or a drainer and I could see the buildup on it. Since I had my water system installed, it has been perfect. I didn't put the reverse osmosis piece in that went under the sink but I'm getting the softener for the entire house. I've got tap water and the filtration in the fridge so I don't really need reverse osmosis piece. The water's great. Somebody in the neighborhood was asking about our water system so I took a picture of ours and sent it. I said that it is the best one I've ever seen on the market. There was heavy iron in the water so we got a water conditioning combination system from Kinetico. My neighbors had the same kind of system and they had good success with them and it was recommended by the distributor. The appointment was pretty straightforward. They came out, did an analysis of the water, and wrote up a quote of what they thought I would need with a two-filter system and the backwash set up. Then they came out three weeks later and installed it. Their rep was very knowledgeable and the installers were in and out within an hour and a half.
The taste if you just drink out of the hose is different than when you're drinking the filtered water. It took a while to get used to the new taste to have cleaner water. But we've had a lot less iron in the water. Also, the filtered water on the shower would take longer to get the soap off because it was softer water. In theory, it had to have a little more salt in the water to purify it. We've had the system now for four years. At this point, we've become immune to it. But my wife took a long time to think that her hair was actually clean. She kept complaining about it being oily but that wasn't the situation.

They had a thing to get your water tested and the company that was providing the testing was selling Kinetico water softener systems. They did an exceptionally good job and they did it without any cost. They connected everything that needed to be connected and it's been working well. It's simple to maintain. It is fairly low cost because there's very little power used in the system itself. The only thing that requires power is a UV light, if you have that as part of the system. All those years, we dealt with calcium deposits and various things. We decided that it was time to put a softener in. The service tech who was assigned is the son of somebody who used to work for me. Over the years, we've been pitched by Culligan but I felt better about the service technician. From the online reviews, Kinetico seemed the better choice out of all the systems. Their salesperson came, explained the system, did some water tests, said, "These are the things that I would do for your system." He was very straightforward. I wanted additional testing done and they provided that additional testing. They let me know from the additional testing that I needed additional components as part of my system. They gave me pricing about the product.
The installation person was a one-person team. Very thorough, spent the entire day at my house and made sure that I was happy, walked me through everything he was going to do. Some of the best plumbing in my entire house was done by this gentleman. I had one concern or one question and he fully addressed it and made sure I was comfortable with the system before he left. So it was, overall, a great experience.
There was a whole house filter that they put in. I could definitely see that there's sediment coming in. I could see the filters being dirty. The water definitely tastes a lot better. The soap actually rinses out of our hair. The dishwasher works a lot more effectively because the water is softer. The pipes aren't rusting or corroding through because my acidity level on my water is now balanced. There are less maintenance overall and better water quality.
The one lesson I learned from this is to make sure that you get the most advanced water test you could possibly get. That way, you get all of the components installed when you need them. The filters are readily available. Even the salesperson and the maintenance person made sure to tell me that I could buy them through them or I could get them online and do my own maintenance on the system. I had radon in my water and they needed to put an additional component on my system to make sure that my family was not being subjected to radon in our water. Every year, I pay them to come out and maintain my system. It's a very small cost for a very large peace of mind. I've told a couple of people at work that bought new houses, "Don't buy anything else. Just get the Kinetico because it's basically the Cadillac of water systems."

I had water people come out with the Kinetico system because my water was always stinky. The rep handled us in a timely fashion. Everything is working out okay with my Kinetico water system but I have a salt bridge that has developed that I need to take care of. Other than that, I needed it and it got the job done. My water doesn't stink anymore.

I came across Kinetico through my water company in Connecticut. They carry Kinetico’s product and recommended it. They gave me a lot of literature about it and reading up on it, it sounded like a very good high-quality filtration product, which was why I went with them. I’m using the water softener system right now and I like it very much because it doesn't require electricity. It goes through the amount of water we use in that case so I'm very happy.
I'm having some problems with my water system. I had a new well drilled and we've had some hydrosulfide smell. So, they quoted me some options with the Kinetico filtration systems. The hydrosulfide smell has gone away but a little bit of sediment is still there. I'm just using a small micron whole house-type filter. So, I haven't actually used the Kinetico filter system yet for the whole house-type but I'm considering if the problem persists. My neighbor right next door to me has chosen to get a Kinetico water softener on my recommendation with Water-Flo company, which is a terrific company. I like and trust them very much.

The house that we bought already had the Kinetico softener system in it. We had to replace the iron filter tank, iron and the tank that filters the minerals that are just naturally present in our water. Our softener is still doing good so we didn't have to replace that. Everything has been smooth. We used to get a sulfur odor maybe every few months but it took a little bit of tweaking at first and the water flow just came out. It has been great for several months now. So, I have no complaints. The installation was excellent. We use the water flow out of Madison, Connecticut and they're very good. After we replaced that tank, our well pump died. So we had them out there and they replaced the well pump. They're good contractors.

I had one of Kinetico’s systems in my old home for six years before we moved and I’ve had this new one for about a year. The product seems to be high quality. The water would sometimes appear a little bit cloudy some days but when I'm using the system, it is always clear and it tastes better. Kinetico probably could have called me a few weeks later and asked how everything was going. I don't mind not getting calls but if I were them, I might wanna put that in my to-do list. Other than that, everything was fine. They were prompt, courteous and got the job done in a timely manner. So, it was all good.

I was getting a white film all over everything - the showers, dishes. I couldn't clean anything. I knew I had hard water. I researched and I found there were different types of water softeners. Kinetico had some positive reviews and there were some negatives out there as well. But, there's good and bad in all. One of the main reasons I went with Kinetico was I liked the idea of not having to use any extra electricity to have my water softened. I said "Okay, that seems like a good system and that's something I would like to look further into." They came out one day and it was installed. They brought all the equipment in one visit. They did the piping and they did everything.
They also did a free water test when they came out to determine how hard the water was and what minerals or things were causing it or helping to cause it, and also identifying if we had high levels of chlorine or other things that don't necessarily lead to hard water stains, but just from a health perspective or taste. Now, the water is great. It's perfectly soft. I have no more issues of any hard water stains anywhere. I've been at other people's houses who have water softeners and I get in their shower, use their water and the water feels weird. It feels oily, where this doesn't feel like that. My water feels like normal water. I would recommend Kinetico and the company that came to install it has stood behind the product and they did everything they could to support it in times when I had issues.

I did research online. Kinetico got an extremely high rating in Consumer Reports despite the fact that their prices were much higher and price being high is something that Consumer Reports usually deducts ratings for. It impressed me that they got such a high rating and it was disproportionately more money than the other ones in the competition. So, that was what made me look into them.
Everything was great with my Kinetico experience. The company that I used was responsive. They came out, made a presentation and were able to satisfy what we wanted. We had some things that we wanted that really were things that they couldn’t do, but that was not their fault. They did a good job and they installed in a timely manner. I'm really happy that we got the system. I've been concerned about certain pollutants that I'm aware of in our water supply and many that I'm not aware of. Also, we're both on regimens that we try to drink a measured amount of water and it makes a difference to drink water that's good for you and tastes really good. I couldn't be more pleased. I wish I did this years ago.
The only issue is it is expensive and there is an ongoing cost of maintaining it. There are other systems that are well under half the price. I don't know if they're as good, but this met our needs in terms of some physical constraints that we have of installation. Also, it works well. I also like that it doesn't plug into anything. If you have a well, that's different, but as long as you have city water with pressure, the system will keep working. I don't regret the money I've spent in any way.

We had to have a water softener. We had well water. The installation team of Kinetico was phenomenal. I've used them at my new house. I absolutely love them. The installer had to come back, but down the line, we realized it had nothing to do with Kinetico. It had to do with the neutralizer that we had, which was a different brand and it wasn't doing its job properly. The unit itself functioned wonderfully. Since installing it, there is much more consistent water quality and without spikes in the water. Just overall, laundry's better. It's a big difference.
Hi Tatyana,

I had Kinetico in a different home 15 years ago. Now, we run off of well here and the water is pretty hard in this area. The Kinetico team is good and knowledgeable. However, it seemed like they oversold us the system. We got a much bigger system than we needed. However, the price wasn't terrible, so I'm not too concerned about that. I'm not completely happy with the installation. They could’ve plumbed with copper instead of PEX. Everybody uses PEX now.
Also, it seemed as though they wanna lock us into a particular installer for a certain area, and I think you're at the mercy of that person in their capability. I understand that business model, but on the other hand, we've dealt with other ones in nearby areas that would've been fairer but we did not understand that we could do that.
They should give people an option. Get multiple Kinetico people out there. At that point, when you're deciding about Kinetico, it's not so much like Kinetico versus somebody else. It should be Kinetico versus Kinetico. They should be ensuring that they're providing good service and you don't know unless you get somebody else out there selling the same product. But we're absolutely sold on Kinetico. I recommend their product. The product is incredible. It doesn't use power. Most people do not have the desire to spend that much money on water softening or filtration. But people just don't understand having an endless supply of soft water until they live with one of those systems.

We had hard water. We got the water softener from Kinetico and everything about the installation was good. The installers were finished in one day. The water is now not as hard.

If I've got the technical stuff straight water flow from Kinetico, it removes uranium and it does the iron. They said it was the best system. It was recommended by the contractor. I said, "Okay." The installation was clean. There were no issues at all. The water is fantastic. The software system is you put the salt in and it got the tanks with the media in it. However, I didn't think the system was working because three months into having the house, I didn't have to add any salt. The installer came out and said, "No. It's just a very efficient system. The system is working fine. It's not like the old days where you had to add salt every month." This thing is so efficient, I go four months without adding salt. It's not even a problem. It's amazing. I love it. I'm very happy with it.

I have a lot of iron in my water. The house we bought had the Kinetico older system. It's been like 15 years, so we replaced it with another system. It works great, so I was pretty happy with it. We have a better water flow now. The water pressure is better and the water quality is better than it was.
Thank you for sharing your Kinetico experience with us, Sean. We are happy to hear your system has improved your flow rates. If you have questions or need assistance please contact us at customersupport@kinetico.com or 800.944.9283.

Previously, I had some concerns with my water. I learned of Kinetico through the water filtration company in my area and I went with them. My system was quickly installed. The team who came was efficient and they did a good job. Though I've found the system loud sometimes, I like it a lot. Now, my water tastes better and cleaner. Kinetico provides a quality product at a good price with good customer service.
