I have a front load extra large capacity washer with sensors that determines load size and how long, strenuous or light the wash cycle will be. So far, I don't have to worry about what I am washing - heavily soiled items, denims, delicates or bulky linens, this washing machine has done a perfect job. Love it!

We have been a owner of Kenmore products over the year including the clothes washer and dryer. The earlier machines were never as good as our latest model. For the past ten years, our Kenmore set has been serving us well and hope to get another 10 years or more. The features on our washer is easy to understand and use. Very energy efficient and gentle on the clothes, just wish that Sears Canada had to go out of business.

Kenmore washers have been in my house since I was a little boy. We would stuff clothes in it as much as we could. It never broke down. However it was chore we all could live with. Even when I went in the military and college I guess I was really because they were always there. I'm in the process now of looking for a stack rack model, I hope Kenmore makes them. Now that coronavirus is everywhere you look we dont get out as much. Friends have been suggesting that I could go online and place an order. I tell them I am the kind of person that likes to see and inspect the items I usually purchase. Ordering online I have had my personal dissatisfaction with product that are not as they seem once it gets to your home. The material are not what you see in the picture. That's why when I buy Kenmore I am confident about its quality and value.

This machine has begun to accumulate a mildew smell. I have yet to identify the source of the smell. In addition, the trays where you pour your detergent, bleach and fabric softener fill with water after the wash. The only tray you can manually empty the access water is the detergent tray, this I feel everything else gets diluted. Overall it is an ok machine.

This model was the best one Sears had under the Kenmore label. It has a matching dryer which I also purchased. It is one of the newer low water washers which took some getting used to. Over time I have learned a lot in regard to what and what not to do in order to operate this machine as a high efficiency washer. When I mastered a few of the "mystery tricks" then this seemingly "monster washer" became my friendly servant. I learned by the various "wish-wash" sounds when the wash cycle needed a bit more water, and by redistributing the clothes up around the sides of the rim, more water would be added by the machine. Also, though it is a super heavy-duty washer, I've learned not to load it too full or it will keep going back to the rinse cycle (over and over) and never go forward to spin.

This washer has a great assortment of wash/rinse/double rinse/temperature choices/spin cycles etc. to pick from. I feel like I'm commanding a space ship every time I wash. I've not had to have anything fixed or serviced. This washer hasn't broken down or needed fixed for anything. The quality, price and performance of this Kenmore washer is definitely a 5. For me the complexity of the technology would be a 4+. I think Whirlpool had the Kenmore contract for this model. I've had this washer and dryer for over 10 years, and they're both still great!!

We bought our Kenmore washer and dryer several years ago and at the time, the combo set was very highly rated by Consumer Reports. As of this writing, they still perform well and have been doing a fine job these last few years. Occasionally, a stain my come after the wash (not sure how it occurs), but if you re-wash - the stain will come out. This is a rare occurrence, but most of the time the clothes come out of the wash fine and in good shape - also no issues with the dryer - these are stackable units and we do have them stacked to save space. There can be odors from time to time and one needs to clean out some fluid build-up from time to time to combat that, but there are directions on how to do that. Overall, very satisfied with both units.

Kenmore 600s is garbage. Would give zero stars if I could. This washer twists your clothes so bad they are stretched and ruined. I’ve tried all the scenarios given by Kenmore and same thing. If you do a deep fill it will cut down on twist but clothes don’t agitate and come out just as dirty as they went in but now just wet. Deep fill negates the water saving feature claimed by kenmore. If you run a normal wash with same clothes, 10 tee shirts, the shirts on the top just sit there and don’t agitate through the wash. Then I was told that’s too big a load. Really??!! So I can only wash 5 tee shirts at a time, at 1hr intervals, to keep from twisting and get them washed with the water saving feature you advertise??

To date I’m out over $400 in clothes due to twisting and the extravagant price for a defective product. It’s out of warranty and kenmore won’t help. Have had it over two years and I’m done. Goodbye Kenmore, you have lost this customer for life. Your product is getting sent to metal scrap because I won’t even donate this problem to another victim.

The washer asks you to rebalance the wet load after which it adds MORE water which causes the load to remain unbalanced asking you to rebalance the load to which it adds EVEN MORE ** water, and on and on and on. The only solution is to take out all the clothes and hand wring them. There is no spin only cycle only rinse and spin. What kind of machine doesn't have a spin only cycle? This POS! You can tell the designers have never done a load of laundry. The first time this happened it took 5 hours for one load. As I write I'm trying to wash a winter jacket. It's taken 3 hours and I've resorted to stomping out the water in the shower before I put it in the dryer. As for the length of a wash cycle, don't count on washing more than one load per day. Bought KENMORE ELITE 5.3 FRONT LOADING WASHING MACHINE from Sears in Nov 2018. After about the 10 load it made the sound of a hammer hitting it. LOUD! Only my wife & I live here and use it, roughly 20-24 loads per month. The loud banging happened about 4 times. Then began, and still continuing a "shuddering" noise when adding water to a wash cycle. At the end of July a SEARS TECH come out & replace both hot & cold LG intake valves. NO RESOLVE.

I had been researching this situation and came across a term I wasn't familiar with-water hammer arrestor. Won't go into detail but discussed this with tech and decided I'd nothing to lose but $20. Bought one each for supply valves. Tech returned 3 days later but nothing changed. Doing more research someone pointed out that for these machines 1/2" interior diameter hose should be used, not the steel wrapped hoses which are only 3/8 interior diameter. This small hose causes the velocity to come out and into washer MUCH MORE FORCEFUL. I spent $30 on HEAVY RUBBER hoses and stopped the "shuttering". Until 2 weeks ago.

SEARS TECH was to come out yesterday (10-31) and called to make sure I'd be home. I explained the situation and was told this is a PROBLEMATIC DEFECT with these washers and can't be fixed. Said this has been an ongoing problem for 3-4 yrs. The first tech from 3 months earlier basically said the same. Also - What's up with water ALWAYS in soap tray? My dryer is level. If fact I think SEARS installed it. One other problem: Has anyone noticed when workers come into your home they behave like they own it. These 2 tech were upset as I ask them to take their dirty shoes off and to remove whatever was attached to their belts. I told them I didn't want my walls & cabinets scratched up!

It worked only off and on after having to drip dry laundry and wait 24 hours to see if machine would complete a spin cycle without being off balance again. I waited for 4 afternoons for Sears Kenmore repair person. The guy showed up only one of the four appt times and said he needed to replace the motherboard with a refurbished part but he wouldn't recommend a refurbished part. His other answer was to try to sell me a five year Sears warranty 4 times the amount of any other store, yet is was still under the 1 year manufacture warranty. The service call center are overseas and it is awful. Sears store washed their hands of it because I didn't buy an overprice Sears warranty. I finally gave up and purchased a LG new machine.

Please, DO NOT buy this washer no matter how cheap in price you find it. It continues to add minutes to the wash where it takes 1 1/2-2 1/2 hours PER wash. Clothes comes out with white streaks that look like powder detergent is stuck on them when I use only liquid detergent. Water saver means not enough water to cover the clothes. The deep fill option is only available at some settings as for bulk loads. Even using this setting some clothes come out dry. I will never purchase a machine water saver or without an agitator because the clothes don’t circulate. This is a piece of 800.00 junk. I would love to throw it out and buy a simple washer that works faster and gets clothes clean. Please, do not buy it or you too will be writing a negative review and be angry at yourself for thinking those other negative reviews were maybe customers not using the machine properly and maybe adding too much detergent. My Kenmore washer broke down in 1/2017. I paid a Sears technician $99 to come and tell me that a $600 washer required a $1400 repair. I discarded that washer and purchased a new Kenmore washer in 2/2017 for ~$600. In a little over two years, the new washer began to leak water with every wash to the point of flooding the house and making the washer not useful. The washer is getting used by 2 people who use it for usual clothes/sheets washes for a family of two.

After another repair person visit, I was told that the tub is torn and will cost $1400 to replace. So my options are to (a) buy a new washer for $600 every two years, (b) buy a new washer for $600 and then buy a so-called 'appliance protection plan' for $600/year to get a protection plan which pays $500 towards the repair or replacement AND pay the $99 technician fee on each repair. So my question is, as a consumer spending $600 on an appliance, am I expected to pay another $600/yr for repairs to this appliance after two years of life or spend $600 every two years because that's the lifespan of a Sears washer?

I started using this machine Oct 23, 2018 (the date we moved into our newly built home). We purchased an entire home full of appliances including the water softener from Sears. The washer worked ok for about 3 mos before I started calling service. It's still under the 1 yr warranty and I purchased the 3 yrs warranty too. At first they "help" you over the phone, "too much deter, not HE, not the right kind of deter, too much fabric softener, can't use fabric softener, clean it with bleach, clean with vinegar, clean with A-Fresh, your water is too hard, it's because you have a water softener, etc, etc!"

So far they have been here 6 times and their computer says, "It is functioning fine and therefore there is nothing wrong with the machine". I ask, "So I can't EXPECT to have clean clothes from a new wash machine?" The store salesperson says, "The tech makes the decision". The tech says, "The machine is working fine," and refuses to take it apart to show me there is no stagnant, grimy water sitting in the bottom. This machine makes clothes 10x dirtier than before they went into it. Don't bother talking to corporate escalation dept (877-878-3687). They are well trained in giving you the runaround.

One tech named Kyle is actually trying to solve this mystery of the lint-like, slimy, powdery, residue that gets onto (and is very difficult to get off) my clothes. I honestly don't recommend this washer or any other appliance that you may have to deal with Sears. Why can't people/businesses stand behind their products anymore? I bought this machine because in 2008 I purchased a Maytag Bravo that I thought was just like this one. I am told that the "old motor was well built" and that "the government puts such high regulations on the HE washer that it's not enough water to actually clean the clothes."

If companies know this then why on earth are you selling this machine under the expectation that you will get clean clothes!? I'd give the machine a negative 10 and the service department 1 out of 5. I'd love for a manager or store owner to call me. I've left messages on answering machines that say, "We will call you back by the end of the day," and they NEVER call you back. I purchased mine in Mishawaka IN but the people I've talked to on the 800 numbers are not from around this area.

Bought a Kenmore washer in 2017. Installed by Sears staff. Washer made noise and bounced around since day 1. Called Sears service several times and the repair person came out and looked at it and said the problem was probably the floor so on both occasions they put pads under the feet of the washer. Last time I provided the pads as the man did not have any so he said maybe a jar gripper would do. So he inserted them under the washer. Never did he use a leveler to see if the washer was level or check anything inside the washer. So it seemed the pads made a little difference but the shaking and moving continued but not as bad. And I got used to the noise. But now here in 2019 it started getting more noisy and continued to shake and move more. Since I had a family member ill and then died I had no time in the beginning of the year to have someone come out. So I called them last week and they said they would charge me so much.

I then decided to call another company (which I should have done before). The repair person came out and checked everything and said all 3 shocks were blown and leaking oil and that the washer was not level and was off by quite a bit. This was all from the washer not being installed correctly and off level. When I called Sears re this they said my warranty is expired and that I would have to pay for them to send a repair person to check it. They were not helpful in any way. I am a senior citizen and do not have the $700 + to repair this washer. Especially since the problem is because of faulty installation. Is there no justice anymore. Stay away from Sears and Kenmore and LG who apparently made this washer for Sears!!!

This was a mistake. As a retired couple the machines have had once a week use. Last week the washer started to smoke after the spin cycle and make loud off balance drum noises. The repair outfit just told me that the washer will cost over 750$ to repair and was made in Korea by another manufacturer for Sears/Kenmore. To get six years out of an expensive high end washer is consumer abuse. More fool me... Sears Canada has closed, the extended warranty no longer honored. Machine does not cover clothes enough to clean them even on deep fill. There is no agitator but rather a wash plate which does not move the load well. The manual states it is normal for some items to be above the water line. The truth is most of the items are above the water line and remain that way for the duration of the cycle. We switched from a front loader to top load, because we continued to have odors coming from our front load washer that we could not get rid of. We chose the top load with agitator, since we wanted to get back to the type of washing machine we have previously had, and liked. The water level on this machine is very low, even when choosing the high fill option, thus the agitator is nearly worthless, and the clothes do not get clean. To top it all off, we still have a musty odor coming from our washer, even when we leave the top door open. We are not at all happy with our purchase of the Kenmore 600S, 20372 washing machine.

Clothes do not stay white. There is not enough water to clean. Mold started almost immediately on the rubber lining. I was told to leave the door open after each wash! Something new and white only lasts a few weeks before it turns grey. We have a water softener so our water is pure. I have you use very little soap in this newly designed washer. The printing came off the front panel after a few months. It is not covered under warranty. I can’t wait to get rid of this machine. Alas, all washers are made the same.

Kenmore which is made by Whirlpool was nothing but troublesome. First the motor and transmission had to be misaligned as the rubber insert in the drive motor coupling had to be replaced frequently. With no way to properly align the motor with the transmission I started buying the rubber inserts 3 at a time to keep them on hand as needed. Second the timer selector switch assembly had to be replaced twice. The third was I had to replace the complete suspension. That was it. Time to start looking for something other than a Kenmore/Whirlpool before something else breaks.

My washer doesn't ring out water. Extra water smells like mold in your clothes. I wouldn't recommend this washer and the dryer kept blowing out. Kenmore washer with the side face is not a good product at all.

Front load large capacity washer is still going strong after almost 15 years. Only issue is mold buildup behind the rubber gasket that is difficult to clean. Does a great job of cleaning. The dryer lasted only 7 or 8 years. Circuit board started on fire a year after the recall expired. Replaced with an LG dryer that is great.

I cannot do a large load in my Kenmore washing machine and the dryer has to be started twice to dry clothes. If a pillow is in the washing machine I have to spin it twice to drain the water.

After using top load washers all my life. My wife and I decided to upgrade to a new set of Kenmore front loader, and matching dryer. This has to be slowest washer ever, with an average load size being an hour or more. Stinks like mildew all the, and we follow manufacturer cleaning instructions. We even leave the door fully open when not in use. Does not get the clothes clean, even at tiny load sizes. We have never loaded it over half full, and not compressed. We've had them for about 4 months now and I wish we still had our old worn out top loader back. Even though the dryer does fine, I would never recommend this washer to anyone.

I'm single so don't do more than two loads per week. The simple Kenmore top load washer and flat back dryer is more than adequate for my needs: easy manual controls (temp, size, delicate vs. normal vs. heavy for the washer, temp, dryness, time for the dryer). If you're not doing many loads of laundry or you don't care if they're basic white, they are a good buy.

I need more than 8 inches of water & that is the deep fill. Sheets often are partly dry, because they don't get under the water. I have the 600s washer. Thought I could do larger loads. Sorry folks you can't. No water saver here, a second rinse is always necessary & sometimes a third. You guessed it. No water!

A front load Kenmore that came with the house we recently bought. It is just Ok and not very clear about several issues such as how much liquid soap to put in the dispenser. Several times it appears to leave the clothes too wet and needs additional spins.

I found a really good price on the pair. Although it doesn't sing and dance like some of the expensive models, it works just fine. I have had the pair for about 5 years with no problems. I like the chemical dispenser which is in the right place and easy to pop out and stick in the dishwasher.

I bought my washer and dryer about 9 yrs ago. They were working fine until last year. I needed a new heating coil on the dryer and a great service man came and fixed it. I got a service contract after that and had some issues with the washer but because of the contract it was fixed with no additional cost. I’m trying to keep them as I’m worried about how the new ones are made.

The Kenmore washer took a giant dump. It ruined my stuff in the garage after leaking all the time. Repairman was reaching for straws and never fixed the leak.

The washer was 7 yrs old. Now the Kenmore Dryer isnt drying completely. Have to use Heavy duty extra time because home warranty (rip off) refuses to fix Kenmore machines. The washer was replaced 3 mos ago. We bought Maytag. Love it. Theyre pretty reliable from past experiences... With the possibility of my beloved Sears going out of business Im steering away from Kenmore. That make me sad.

Have these units (Kenmore Washers) for over 10 years. Have Sears protection policy. In year 2 dryer failed. They could not fix and gave me a brand new dryer! Covered under Sears "Cap 10" protection agreement. Cost is about $500 a year. If they can not repair in 4 tries they give you a new unit!

We have never had a single problem with our set of Kenmores. We did not buy the top of the line more of the bottom line, no bells and whistle. The settings are easy to read and turn knobs too, I'm blind/low vision and markings are bold enough for me to see. Baskets are more than big enough to handle all of our washing loads. No extra settings to cluster the facial plates with settings we will never use. Bleach trough in the right place and easy to pour into, big enough to hold recommended amount, softener container in the middle easy to get to, softener lid can be a little hard to get off if you cut your fingernails too short. Product and price was right, have had for 5 years no service calls, bought a set for daughter.

High Efficiency how? The washer runs 2x as long and have to (at least) double rinse every load to get HE soap residue off the clothes. It probably uses less water but takes twice as long to do a load.
