Kenmore Washers Reviews

As mentioned in previous reviews, this washer leaves soapy residue on everything. I use a little bit of "he" laundry detergent and there is always residue on my dark clothes. There is no center post in this washing machine to stir things up. My sheets always end up knotting up in a ball and the machine won't spin because of the unevenly distributed weight of wet sheets. I don't like doing laundry but it is particularly frustrating to have to wash things over and over to get the residue out. How energy efficient is it if you have to wash things 3 times? It is also frustrating to try to complete my laundry for the day when I have to keep untangling things that have balled up. I would recommend a side loading machine as they are much better at moving things around.

Purchased a Kenmore Washer Model 796.41382410 in Oct. 2014. A small plastic magnetic catch on the door broke and Sears will not sell that part alone. They want me to buy a new door for $200.00 plus shipping. None of the small plastic parts appear to be available alone. All must be purchased as part of a larger (and very expensive) assembly. Last Kenmore for me.

I am so unhappy with this washing machine. It simply does not rinse the soap residue from dark fabrics. The last batch of dark colors, navy, black, jeans, etc. came out with white soap marks all over. I rewashed with no soap and added a rinse cycle. Still bad! I washed a king size teal colored blanket. After three rinses, I hauled the wet thing to the Sears store and showed them all the soap residue. They told me I used too much soap! Now I use a fraction of the soap and still get the residue. Don't buy this...

Purchased a Kenmore elite set of washer & dryer in July 2013. The washer is constantly getting unbalanced and cannot be left unattended because water keeps running until I stop and re-arrange the clothes. Sears has been out 4 times in 3 weeks to work on washer -- still not working properly.

My Kenmore washer has live up to its job as I have been washing 5 to 7 loads per week for approximately 15 years. Had them for 18 to 20 years and only 1 minor problem between both washer and dryer. I do 4 to 5 loads a week. The washer has no surface rust even though it is located in a somewhat, sometimes damp basement.

Just stops working in middle of cycle. Does not get my clothes clean at all. And won't rinse or spin. Worst washer I've ever had. Don't buy it.

I don't remember ever having any problems with the washer or dryer that required a repairman until we had the appliances for several years. The appliances received a lot of use, serving two adults and two children from diapers through gym classes.

The Kenmores seem to last forever. They are really dependable and durable. If you do have a problem at some point, Sears has a great parts and service department. We experienced one glitch and our Sears serviceman was able to come within 3 days and was very reasonable.

The machines are reliable and very useful to use. They are dependable and you can expect your clothes to come totally clean... and your machine will not tear down on you. They can keep your clothes as bright and clean as expected.

I am a mother of 5 and grandmother so our washer and dryer has gone thru a lot. We have had them for over 35 years and other than a few minor repairs, have had no problems with them. Our daughters come over to visit and at times the little ones have an accident and bingo--they are needed again. If we have to get another set, it would definitely be a Kenmore.

Great washer... Cleans clothes really well, lots of different cycles. Dryer is just as good as the washer... Drying times is great, works well, well made, sturdy products, holds a lot of clothes.

I love Kenmore products. They are so dependable. I have a refrigerator and a washer and a dryer from Kenmore. I have never had a problem with any of these products. I am due for a new washer and dryer and will definitely buy a Kenmore. I like the models and features on their washers and dryers. The colors they offer now are also nice. You won't be disappointed if you stick with the Kenmore brand.

I have had a Kenmore washer and Dryer for a long time. I would recommend it because it seems to last longer than any other brand that I have had you. May pay a little more for it but you will own it for a lot longer than the other brands I have tried. Kenmore is a well-made brand.

I really like both of the machines. I feel like they do a good job washing and drying. Never had to reload clothes because they were not done properly. Also never experienced any breakage with clothes.

Their products are amazing. I have had the same wasyer and dryer set for 10 years with no problems at all. Always dries my clothes the first time and the washer is amazing. I can wash two normal loads of clothes at one time which saves a lot of time.

These appliances came with the new house purchased over 10 years ago and I am still using both to this day without any problems. The washing machine is a top loader with the standard features and the dryer is a front loader electric dryer. Being an electric dryer I don't use it as much, only for large items such as sheets and hard to dry items especially in the winter time.

I owned a Kenmore washer and dryer 20 years ago. They were adequate. I really don't remember any specifics although I don't think we had any major problems with them. There is nothing else I can tell you.

It was reasonably priced and did the job satisfactorily. Lasted about 7 years. Got heavy use. A mid-level machine. Nothing fancy but sufficient for our needs. They are much improved now from when I had one.

I am very pleased with Kenmore appliances. The only problems I have ever had with them is worn out from keeping them for so long. They really last and well worth your money. They have held up well over the past 11 years. We have had no problems with our washer or dryer. We bought them from a Sears Outlet in Dallas. Like that they can be stacked or side by side.

My Kenmore washer and dryer have been great. They're about 18 years old and electronic controls and I haven't had a lick of trouble with them. I grew up with Maytag and they were every dependable but also every costly. So go with Kenmore and get the dependability you want without the higher cost.

I like Kenmore appliances. They are hard working and last for many years. I have used many Kenmore appliances. I have had a canister vacuum that I used for years. Since Sears was the exclusive place to get Kenmore that is where I shopped.. Their products are very durable. The only issue is since it was a Sears only product you had to shop Sears for any accessories needed. This was true also for a small transistor radio I had as a child. Couldn't buy batteries anywhere but Sears.

I've had Kenmore my whole life. They have never let me down. I have never had one break on me and I never felt the need to replace one. I feel like Kenmore is a trusted name brand that everyone should look for when purchasing an appliance.

I have had this dryer for 8 years, we have moved it 3 times and only had a repairman out once and he replaced a belt and cleaned out the lint trap and showed us how to clean out around the vent and the vent hose. He said to take the back off of the dryer once every year or two and take a vacuum and suck out all of the back so it doesn't get clogged up again and overheat the dryer.

Never lets me down. I love it. I think everyone should own one. I've even bought one for my son and he loves his also. I would tell everyone to buy it... I just wish they had better sales on their product or at least some type of free shipping when you buy both from the same store.

Kenmore devices seem to last longer and I have less problems with them. They are worth the money you pay for them and are reasonably rated with other types of washers and dryers. They don't break down a lot and when they do the parts are easy to get and it easy to get them worked on. Thankfully my fiancé has a lot of experience with plumbing so he usually fixes things himself.

I signed up for ConsumerAffairs to be able to ventilate my frustration about this washing machine. There is nothing wrong with the mechanics of this machine. It turns the front loading drum, like it should, adds water, removes water, etc. But the program-cycles it offers make the whole washing affair completely idiotic. All the cycles are way too short for good cleaning. (None takes longer than 1/2 hour.) Also, there is no cycle without a final spin option. I come from Europe where 'eco' machines turn slow and long, in order to enable good soaking and cleaning. I have to 'add' programs cycles in order to get anything clean with this machine. Meanwhile I cannot put off the spin session, so I end up using a lot of energy to get my wash done with this machine (while ruining my clothes with the spinning). My husband ordered this machine after thoroughly reading consumers reports. Makes no sense to me.

Reliable. I have had a Kenmore for over 40 years. When I want to replace my washer/dryer I go to Sears first because I know I will get the top rated products. They have good selection of washer/dryers, their service people are knowledgeable, and I know I am getting a good product.

Quality products, simple to use, low maintenance. Our Kenmore products have lasted a long time. Any maintenance required is usually a single fix. Most repairs that we have needed have been under warranty.

They both worked really well and could handle all the items that I would need to clean like curtains, rugs and quilts. They both performed as expected when I had them. There are many times that I would need to wash my rugs but if they had rubber backs I could wash but not dry and if the rubber was coming off then I could not wash them at all. I like to change out my bed often and would also change out the quilts that were on my bed at that time also. My boys were hard on clothes and would seem to find all the dirt that was out there and the washer did a great job keeping those clothes clean.

I've used Kenmore products for more than 25 years. I have a family of 6 children and we put their products to the greatest torture and abuse along with severe wear and tear. I've never had a lick of problems in any products made by this company and I will continue to strongly recommend their products to all my family and friends. Your great products have earned a true faithful customer for life.

I have owned my Kenmore top loading washing machine for 10 years. It may not be the most attractive washing machine but it is definitely the most reliable and dependable washing machine that I have ever owned. It has never failed me once and gets all my clothes very clean. I have recommended the Kenmore washer to many of my friends and have never heard of any breakdowns or repairs. I know that someday this machine will quit on me and when that day occurs, I will go right back to the Sears store and buy another Kenmore!

It is reliable and really cleans the clothes and dries them quickly. I don't have to keep the clothes in the dryer very long because the spin cycle of the washer is so thorough. When I put detergent in the washer, it does not cause over sudsing so my clothes don't feel sticky as if soap was still in them. There are many options for washing and drying and even just fluffing them or keeping them from getting wrinkles. As a result, I don't have to use as much fabric softener as I did with past appliances.

We purchased a new Kenmore Elite Washer four years ago and appreciated its high capacity and ease of function until last week when it exploded, minus the flames. All four of the suspension rods holding the inside tub (where your clothes go) in place snapped, causing the tub to crash to the floor. The top of the machine completely broke apart from the base, the sides of the machine pushed laterally, and there were metal clips and sharp shards of plastic that scattered like shrapnel in our laundry room.

I have both a Kenmore washer and dryer which I have had since 1979. They both still work great, the washer gets my clothes very clean and the dryer has as many cycles as I would ever want. I have never had any problems with either and they both still work great. If replacement was ever necessary I would replace them with the same brand. I would recommend this brand to anyone.

Bought a front loader and clothes smelled awful if not dried for 2 cycles. Also the front loaders get mildewy and are hard to keep clean. Once I realized to keep door open when not in use and to wash smaller loads it worked fine.

Kenmore is a great brand. Very high quality. We had a dryer for over 10 years and still works great. They are also more reasonable than other brands of washers and dryers. I would definitely buy Kenmore appliances again.

I love my washer and dryer. I've had them for a while now and they run like brand new! They clean nicely with the washer cleaner. You can buy at Walmart and I've never had a problem with them smelling like my old washer. I would recommend to anyone looking to buy one. It's a great deal.

Available at Sears and a good company to work with. These products lasted well over 10 years and into a second generation of users. I don't remember a lot about the knobs but it was easy to use.

I currently own a Kenmore Sweeper that is very old but it still works and I still use it sometimes. It's been a while since I owned other Kenmore devices but when I did I was very happy with the devices. I never had a problem with any of the Kenmore devices.

Easy to use, awesome cleaning abilities, quiet machine, low cost. I have owned it since 1996 without any issues. Bought it as a floor model in Sears. Love my machine. Fits multiple large towels and large blankets.

Adequate. I have owned the set now for fourteen years and have had little to no problems with them. I have two daughters who come to my house and use the machines as well. They basically get triple the usage.

I purchased both in 2004. I've only had two problems, both with the washing machine. 5 years ago, the washing machine would not move after fill up. I called Sears to repair it. They came the same day, has not happened again, but I did have a different situation of the Washer not working this summer. After the wash cycle, the spin cycle wasn't working. In fact the water didn't drain. With limited funds, I looked into doing it myself. Thanks to a YouTube video, I found it to be a common problem. I knew the part I needed, and was able to get it from Amazon. I got the part, fixed the washer, following each direction on the video, and was successful in repairing my washing machine.

I like Kenmore because it seems to be the best long-term appliance. Service on them I have been able to do myself cause simply to disassemble and online how-to sites. I have had my clothes get cleaner than any laundromat big washers have done with my Kenmore. I would not buy any other brand.

Good quality but priced a little high. Had very few service visits so I was satisfied with both the washer and dryer. I am not sure I would pay top dollar for Kenmore again since Maytag lasted longer and had fewer problems while we owned them.

These appliances have been purchased at the local Sears store and have been delivered and installed by them. If there is one bad thing to say, it is that the delivery window is a bit excessive; 3 - 4 hours. If the delivery window were half of this, I think they would do more business.

I owned a Kenmore washer and dryer years ago (at least thirty years ago). They performed beautifully. I don't remember but three occasions that I needed repair service. The third time I called for service it took a week or more to get it fixed. I decided then that when I needed to buy a new appliance it would not be a Kenmore.

The Kenmore washer and dryer were excellent appliances. At the time that I owned them our family was comprised of seven people so the machines were given quite a workout. Soccer and baseball uniforms needed to be cleaned along with towels and work clothes, all with different cleaning requirements. My Kenmore washer and dryer were up to the tasks. I was always satisfied with the quality of cleaning the machines did.

Very reliable, tough washer washes clothes nicely without being too rough on them. Dryer dries evenly. As far as price goes I found the prices very competition and definitely did not get overcharged for the washer or the dryer. The prices were good.

I had one of the first touch panel washer and dryer from Kenmore. They were sleek black and had a night light panel under the top lip of the appliance. They were incredibly durable, many custom cycles and a joy to use for many years! When I sold my modern home in the hills of Nashville, the buyer had it written in the contract that the Kenmore washer and dryer remain in the house! I miss them!

I only have one complaint - is the front load washer gets a bad smell. I have tried a lot of products but none really help. The water stays in the rubber ring and molds. So the next time I will buy a top load.

Love the new automatic water level sensor technology. Saves time and energy, this lowering my utility bills. Clothes have never been cleaner. Dryer leaves them wrinkle free almost always. I find I have to use less detergent. I can get my clothes clean using cold water as easily as warm or hot water. This also helps me save on my energy usage also. Washer and dryer hook ups are in the garage of my rental was.

It was very dependable when I had it. I had no problems with it from what I recall. It worked at all times and cleaned the clothes well. It wasn't too noisy but it did its job. I would expect a hassle free product from Sears since the expectation is that it would be very reliable and competitively priced product.

Very reliable and good looking. We have always used Kenmore washers and dryers. They seem to use less energy and we've never had to call a technician. The washer is for large capacity and the clothes seem rotate in the tub better than other models I've seen. Our clothes come out cleaner with less detergent and less wrinkles. The dryer removes lint very nicely and the permanent press cycle works great for wrinkle free dry clothes.

I love Kenmore appliances... They are efficient, reliable, long lasting, models to fit every budget yet doesn't affect the quality... Great product... My washer lasted over 10 years my dryer 11... I have a beautiful refrigerator that works perfectly.

I have never had a problem with Kenmore products. The washing machine lasted for 20 years and I was washing for five children and two adults. In all those years, I have never had to call a repairman.

Awesome. Have no complaints thus far. I do wish we had the pedestals. It's hard to have to bend over each time I have to switch the laundry. So it would have been nice to have the pedestals included in the already expensive cost.

I love them! They have been so good. There are five people in my family, so we do a lot of laundry. I don't remember what we had before the ones we have now but I wouldn't go back! As of now we really haven't had too many problems. One big one is sometimes the washing machine will get off balance and won't finish a load. We have to unplug and redo the load. Other than that they have been great. When I grow up I'm going to buy my own Kenmore washer and dryer. If it was up to me I would suggest that everyone should get one.

I did not care for the Kenmore washer, and dryer. It only last me two years. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND Kenmore to any of my friends, and family. The quality is not there. The washer machine did not wash properly, and Dryer never dried the clothes.

Had both a washer and a dryer awhile ago. They both worked fine and lasted pretty long. When we had to buy ones we bought different brands because they were less expensive and they work just as good. We've had a lot of Kenmore products over the years.

Great appliances!! From setting your wash preference on your washer and removing the lint from your dryer they are the best! Washes perfectly and dries the clothes without a problem. Definitely worth the money.

I bought my appliances refurbished when I bought my house over three years ago and they are still in perfect condition. I have absolutely no complaints about my washing machine or my clothes dryer. I would definitely recommend Kenmore products to friends and family members. If and when I need to make a new purchase for these items I will be choosing Kenmore.

Only a few things to fix in a few years. So, I can live with it, but I wish that the dryer would dry faster. We have had an issue in the past with what I guess you would call the drum of the dryer knocking around very loudly. It cost about fifty dollars to fix, but we didn't have the money for a new washer and dryer.

The washer works extremely well as does the dryer. Very satisfied. I have had the washer and dryer for the last five years. I have never had a problem with the washer or dryer or dishwasher I currently own. I have owned the washer, dryer for over a year. The washer cleans the clothes very well. My dryer works extremely well. It usually takes approximately one half hour to dry a medium size load. My utility bill is extremely low because I use washer and dryer up to ten times a week. I am able to wash and dry blankets in the washer and dry them in dryer, so I am so glad I don't have to go to the laundromat to do my laundry.

I bought a Kenmore washer and dryer because they were on sale a few years ago. In spite of the discount price, both have performed very well. My washer is quiet and reliable, completely and thoroughly cleansing even large loads in under an hour. The dryer has been less than perfect. After the first year, I had to replace the heating element -- a not terribly complicated or expensive repair -- but has not had a problem since. Overall, I'm very satisfied with my Kenmore appliances.

They came in a house I bought which was 3 years old, so I assume the machines were the same age. I kept the house for 6 more years before selling and the appliances went with the house. In the time I had them, the only problems I had were the centrifugal fabric dispenser needed periodic cleaning as it would develop a heavy coating on it and I did have to replace one heating element in the dryer. Being Kenmore, that was owner serviceable.

Kenmore makes a quality washer and dryer. I highly recommend any Kenmore to anyone if you are in the market! They get my clothes clean and is gentle on delicates. My clothes dry quickly and the filter is easy to clean.

After 7 years of ownership, the beast still keeps going. It malfunctioned last month but the fault was not the machine's parts. I have a newborn and her tiny socks were clogging the drain hose. It actually was awesome because now I can explain the missing socks to my wife. We now use a bag for the tiny items that we wash in our old reliable Kenmore.

Sears has good quality Kenmore appliances and I feel I can always trust Kenmore appliances.

Honestly cleaned my clothes very well. Wasn't wet when spin cycle was done. Practically dried before putting them into the dryer. With dryer by the way you don't need to leave in the whole time. Will be hot coming out.

It's okay for the most part. Although it takes a while to dry and it stops before the clothes are completely dry. If this issue was fixed it would be the best dryer in the world. But I mean a dryer is a dryer and when you're broke you take what you can get.

I really love the washer and dryer. They are truly high-capacity, which is a great feature for families, and they are very energy-efficient. The control panels are fairly straightforward, so selecting the cycle/features I need is pretty easy for such high-end modern machines. The washer could be easier to clean, however-- the sealing gasket is always dirty and holds little bits of stagnant water unless I am diligent about wiping it clean after every cycle, which is more maintenance that I think a washing machine should really require. The dryer I have no complaints about.

Works great, very durable. Repairs have been minimal. Dryer has not needed repairs since I bought it. Washer had a relay switch go out. Repair was not costly.
