I purchased on 6-12-06 a Kenmore Elite front loader washing machine $1124.93. Service call on 7-30-08, repair $449.97. Service call again on 6-25-10 for $136.74 plus $367.66 parts and labor. I have spent over a half an hour trying to get to someone to assist me from the US, only to be disconnected. I had to recall and go through this again to no avail. Kristen, employee #**, said there is no one higher to speak to. I am currently up to a $1711.64 price tag on this machine with another $367.66 + labor pending. I will have to buy a new machine and transport laundry until I can do this.

We bought a Kenmore HE 2Plus washer from Sears on December 15, 2007. The first washer we brought home didn't work so it took my husband 4 hours to exchange it for a new one. Within a year, we called Sears for someone to come because the machine was leaking. They never fixed that so a towel was laid under the washer. Lately, my washer sounds like a plane taking off in our house during spin cycle. A repairman came yesterday and told me what was wrong before he even looked at the washer.

The repairman was here 10 minutes and told us it would be over $1000 to fix. It was the main bearing that was bad. We only paid $750 for the machine. The repairman didn't even charge us for the service call because he told us he can't believe they can't make a bearing that will last over 3 years. So now we wait till it goes completely out and we have to buy a brand new washer. The last washer I had, a GE, lasted 17 years. This one lasted 2-1/5 years. There is definitely a quality issue here with Kenmore after reading everyone's problems with their washers. Kenmore needs to do something about this. A washer should at least last longer than 2-1/5 years.

We bought a Sears Kenmore Elite HE5t washer and dryer set on 07/19/2008 (model number 110.47089600 and serial number CSU1711195). The first year we had it, the set was only used a few times, as we were not living in the home it was in. Yet, we move here permanent last March 23, 2009. Since then, it's just been my husband and I. My washer had been acting up a few times throwing a code of F71 a few times, and I just powered it off and on or unplugged it, thinking it just needed to be reset as that code was not in my manual to find out what it meant. After doing the on/off or unplug steps, the washer would start and work.

Until around the beginning of May 2010, my washer had the code again; and I proceeded to do the steps again. But when I unplugged it this time, all display was lost. I called Sears, and they wouldn't let me talk to a tech without a fee. So we scheduled a date for someone to come out. The day he was to come, Sears called and said no one was available to come out after all and had to reschedule. The day the tech was to come out, he called and realized that we live in Sula instead of Missoula, MT, and he said he had to call Sears and discuss that with them because we were 2 hours away.

He called back and said he was coming, and my husband started asking him questions about our washer. The tech was charging $65.00 to come out, and then diagnosing was going to be another fee. So we picked his brain about what was wrong with our machine. He told us that all the code meant that our interface boards were bad and that it needed to be replaced. And since we lost the display as well, he said that the central control unit needed to be replaced too.

We asked how much this would all cost, and he said $900.00 or so. We were appalled. It's going to cost about as much to fix the washer with Sears as we paid for it. We told him our manual states that there is a 2-year warranty on Sensor Smart Electronic Board, and he said that didn't cover the interface or central control unit. We cancelled our appointment and called the local Sears store here in Hamilton, MT and asked if they could recommend someone here to work on the washer because of the cost. They recommended Johnson Appliance Service in Hamilton.

We called and talked with them, and they said the cost would be $606.00. So we've taken the machine to them. They ran a diagnostic on the washer and said all the boards needed to be replaced and had to order one from the manufacturer-corp, and the others were available.

This past Monday, June 7, 2010, we called to see what the status was on my washer; and they said they had put all new boards in my washer and that now, it's throwing an F70 code which is the Central Control Unit, which has been changed and is new and has gone through checking for continuity, harness connections, checked the interface boards x 9; my washer still won't work. Now, it sits at the Appliance Service place. They have sent emails to Sears and Whirlpool and called as well, and they're having problems getting info from anyone as to what was going on.

We have been without a washer now for over a month and very frustrated now. We have been on the internet googling for answers and info, and we are finding out that there is a major problem with many customers having the same problem with this model of washer and dryer and spending 1000's of dollars to get their machines fixed. We also found that Whirlpool (who made my machine for Sears) recently fired over 100 employees due to the interface boards being produced improperly for the machines which are causing these machines to malfunction. What are we supposed to do with these defective washer and dryers?

We spent over $3000.00 for the set and did it for the water savings, Sear's name, stackablity, and more; and my washer has only got maybe a year's worth of washing before breaking. It used to be you could buy Sears, and they backed all their products 100%. And now, it's all about the money and screwing the customer. I can't seem to talk to anyone for decent help without charging you. We have now had $600.00 in boards replaced in the washer and have asked the appliance gentleman, "What if you can't fix my machine? Are we to pay for the boards or can they be returned?" They have told me that "If we can't fix it, we will not charge you!" We are astonished; after all the time and effort they have put in the washer, they are some decent, honest people.

We contacted online a Brian **with searscare@searchc.com about my situation, asking for some help or refund or to find out if there is a recall on these malfunctioning washer and dryers. We still have not received an answer, and that was on 06/09/10 at 11:43 am. We need our washer to be fixed or resolved asap or better yet, we want a refund of the washer and dryer, so we can get a washer and dryer asap.

This is so not right for consumers to be ripped off like this. The government wants us to buy to save energy, water, and such; but the companies make appliances that don't work or last, and they cost so much to buy in the first place. In the long run, it was supposed to pay you back in the energy savings and such with time, and it's costing 2x more to repair. Where is the savings? This is a rip-off!

I want to return the defective washer and dryer set asap and get a full refund. We have taken great care of the set, and we need to get this fixed and resolved, or let us return this set for a full refund; so we can purchase a washer and dryer asap. We are having to pay to get our clothes washed and dried, and I live 9 miles from the nearest laundromat. It's costing me with gas and laundromat expenses to wash, which is ridiculous, when I could be doing it in my own home. Not to mention, I am having to use public washer and dryers, which not knowing how clean they are, is very bothersome! Please help us!

I purchased a $1000 dollar Kenmore washer from Sears 5 years ago. Now the circuit board is not working. I paid for a $200 service warranty they push on you. It has been a month and they cannot find the part to replace it with. No one calls me, they just keep on pushing out and saying it is backlog. I think the service is very poor and they just give you the runaround. I feel the washer should be replaced. They wanted to give me $500 to buy a new one only at Sears. This means to get one equal to mine, I would need to put in $600 more. This to me is not very fair.

I purchased a new Kenmore Elite Oasis washer, model 110.27042602 in October 2006 and the extended warranty. Every year since the mother board has failed. It failed again and I did not renew the warranty as it is $188 which is 1/3 the cost of a new washer, so every three years I can buy a new washer. My previous washer was 20 years old and never needed service. Washer does not work. Mother board failed for the third time.

My husband and I purchased a new Kenmore H3T front loader in October 2008 to replace a really old set in our new house. First, I had issues with the delivery men complaining about having to deliver it to our house and banging our new machine into our basement door. Called Sears, got $75 off the machine. On April 4th 2010, I noticed a puddle under my machine after doing a load of laundry. After cleaning it up, I removed the front and checked the pump as sometimes sthey get clogged and leak. Nope, not leaking from there but I noticed that the cement weight was wet. Took off the gasket, the counterweight, to find one of the bolts for the counterweight had punched a hole in the tub.

No warranty anymore, so we fixed it with some expoxy and fiberglass. I did call Sears to inquire about this issue, and was told that I should have a service person look at it. Yeah right, I fixed it and I am not paying someone to come and scratch their head at it. I've got two young children to wash for, I can't wait 2 weeks. Made an official complaint with a picture of it, since I believe it was due to the delivery guys moving it without shipping bars and slamming it into the door. They are not going to do anything about it or for us, I have told everyone.

We purchased a Kenmore Elite Oasis HE washer, model number 110.27082604, in Feb of 2008. This is a higher-end washing machine at a price of $900. The machine is a designed to be a top loading front loader. It has no agitator and the drum and bottom spin to clean the clothes. Since we bought the washing machine, we have had many problems with clothing items falling over the drum and getting stuck between the drum and outer casing of the machine. Whenever we have had the machine serviced, the repair men say this is a common thing they see all the time. They have even seen sheets fall over the drum.

The clothing items get sucked into the drainage tube and clog the machine which causes many problems, such as, improper drainage, excessive dirty water being left in the machine, improper rinsing, and the unbalancing of the drum. When we called the first time to have this problem serviced, it was not covered under the warranty. We were told we needed to wash our baby clothes and small item in some sort of bag to solve the problem. Since the main function of the machine is to wash clothes, and this information was not disclosed to us during the sale, we found it to be outlandish, not only that it would happen but also that the repair and service call were not covered under the warranty.

The HE5t washing machine is a poor excuse for a washing machine. We used it for a month and our clothes were not coming clean. The toddler's clothes smelled as strongly of urine after the wash as they did before. A month after we purchased the machine, we called the Sears repairman. After he heard how we washed the clothes and after he checked the machine for correct functioning, he told us that we were doing everything correctly and that the machine was functioning as it was intended.

When we objected and said it was not getting our clothes clean, he told us that the front loaders like ours use so little water that they have a hard time cleaning like the old top loaders and he said that you can not fill the washer with a full load and expect it to be cleaned. He suggested we wash with one third of a load! So, we have to do three times as many loads and the loads take twice as long as the old top loading machines and they still do not clean our clothes!

We have been washing with the machine one third full for almost two years now and and the clothes still do not come clean. We keep the nasty mold smell out by using white vinegar for a fabric softener but the clothes still smell foul. Sears sells this machine as a "green" machine. It hurts rather than helps the environment. Each load may use less soap, water and electricity but when you have to do three loads compared to one load in a top loader, it is not a savings, not to mention having to buy three machines to keep up with the laundry. We will have to replace the washing machine which will cost $1,400.

I purchased a Kenmore HE2Plus front load washer and matching dryer on 3/5/08, but would not be delivered until 3/13/08. I started noticing after about 4 months that our clothes had this foul smell and depending on the material it was worse (towels, t-shirts, sweatpants and sweatshirts), the majority of our clothes. I tried everything I could think of to get the smell out of the clothes, i.e. less soap, softener; more soap softener; extra rinse, longer wash cycle, with no improvement.

Then I started to notice the clothes looked dingy after being washed, even the new items. I have had at least 5 service calls on the smell in the clothes and the clothes looking like they are 20 years old, with no resolution. Technicians can't diagnose the problem. I have done nothing but experiment as technicians have suggested: #1 use less soap, #2 use more soap, #3 use less softener, #4 use no softener, #5 use cup of vinegar in load, #6 is water too hard, #7 is water too soft, #8 change soap and softener. The list and excuses goes on and on. The last technician's comment did not make me a happy camper "washing clothes has become an exact science", that is ***. And how many loads of laundry has he done in his 30-plus years?

I had a top load washer before this one and never had an issue with clothes smelling foul & looking dingy. I don't know how I could be saving anything in water since I run everything through double wash and rinse cycles just to try and get them clean and get the smell out (not helping). It is ridiculous to run a washer for 3 hours to try and clean one load of clothes. This washer is a piece of junk and does not do what it is intended. I spend more time doing laundry and cleaning the washer than I did when my children were at home and little. I can't have it replaced with the lemon law because they have not changed one part on the machine.

Sears/Kenmore don't care about any of this, they got their money and the consumer got taken. Shame on you Kenmore and Sears. All I would like is my money back for a bad product and customer service. We live on a tight budget since I lost my job in Nov. 2008. We can't afford to go buy another washer and keep replacing clothes because of the foul smell and looking dirty. The smell from towels after drying off leaves the smell on your body so now we have to use an after shower body spray to mask the odor. It is embarrassing to go in public with the odor in your clothing that you can't get out and you are a clean person.

I have a Kenmore Oasis washing machine Serial number CT4870302 Model number 110.27086603 that has consistently been displaying an F1 error for quite some time. When I initially contacted Sears, the rep (not John) quoted me a large dollar amount for evaluation and repair. My friend has the same product with a similar serial number and hers was replaced at no charge. I contacted John at Sears on 03/09/10 who stated that my product is not eligible for replacement (replacing up to CT38). He stated that if I would have responded earlier, I would qualify and letters were sent but conveniently, I never received a letter. I'm really upset about this and am scheduled to have several appliances delivered from Sears on Saturday but considering cancelling as a result.

I bought a washer for our new home from Sears Arbor Place Mall in 2001. I called Kenmore about the smell 6 months after purchase. They wanted to know if I want a service call at my expense. I told them "no". I want to get rid of the smell. They told me the washer tub would need to be cleaned. "After a year? ", was my response. I let it go for a couple of years. I would run a cycle with bleach on the high capacity setting without clothes. This would stop the smell for a week. But it would return.

In 2006, I called Kenmore again. They again, said service call. The rep. suggested vinegar. I tried that, it did nothing. So, here I am, 2010 with the same problem. It looks like this is a major defect with the top of the line washer, with what I thought, was a top of the line company. I have a high efficiency washer that I have to run empty to fix an engineering flaw. It costs twice what it advertises. I will never by a Kenmore product again because of the way they treated this well known problem. Good bye Kenmore!

I purchased the Kenmore/Whirlpool Calypso Washer on April 23rd 2004. I have not have any problems up until this last week. It is spinning out of control and goes off-balance. I belong to CenterPoint energy service plus program and had a repairman out on February 8th 2010, and he couldn't find a reason for it doing so. He said that the washer was okay. I have documentation.

Well, I washed clothes small, medium, and large loads and the problem was still happening. I then called service plus out again on February 10th 2010 and the repairman called Whirlpool and they told him exactly the problem and that it was not covered. There had also been a class-action suit against this defect. I have been trying to get some answers as to getting my washing machine fixed.

Whirlpool said that there were claims for this but I did not have a broken washer then as I do now. Service plus said that they cannot repair it. So now, I am stuck with what to do. Shouldn't my machine be covered under this class settlement? It is not my fault that my washer did not break earlier and also, is this recalled? The claim on the internet states that the defective universal joints ("u joints"), levers, pumps and electronic control boards on machines purchased before October 15th 2004.

My husband is 100% disabled Veteran and I need to have my washer in working condition soon to be able to take care of him. We also are on a limited income.

I purchased a Kenmore, Front loading HE 2 Plus in March 2009 from Sears in West Palm Beach, Florida. Ever since it was delivered to our condo in Juno Beach, Florida, which we use 5-6 times per year, it has a major water leak! We then followed Sears’ protocol in calling their repair service department. We obtained a service date 10-14 days later, flew back to Juno Beach (our permanent home is in Detroit, Michigan), waited all day until a repair person comes, and they attempted to find the problem, readjusted a part or replaced a part and it still is not fixed! We have had repairmen in August, September, December, and now January 2010.

On January 29th, 2010, supposedly, a senior repairman came out yesterday, and it’s even worse! We live on the third floor of a condo and if the water affects the owner below, we are accountable for this. We have called Sears here in West Palm Beach, Florida, their repair service again. I spoke with multiple people (wasting over 3 hours on January 30th, 2010) and still, no resolution! I have left a message with the V.P. of Sears Roebuck and Co., a Mr. William **, and I am still waiting to hear back. This is unacceptable. This has caused stress; water damage to our floor under the machine, (hopefully there is no water damage to our neighbor below us from today’s major leak); not be able to use our washer for 9 months, unless we are present when it’s in use with multiple towels and pans underneath it; and having to fly back from MI to FL to wait for a repair person.

When I called the company, I was told that this was not a product defect and that rust sometimes happens if there is damage. While the delivery guys were here, they called Customer Service and told them about the damaged items. I spoke with Customer Service and was promised that brand new appliances would be delivered to our home today, January 7.

I also bought a Kenmore front loader (model number 417.44052400), along with the matching dryer. The dryer died on me this year and I spent about $450 to fix it. Not 4 months later, my washer is no longer working. It doesn't spin. It needs new board (same thing that was wrong with the dryer). I started looking up the various issues and learned that the spider wheel is made of a faulty alloy. So even if I spend the $400 fixing the washer, I will be looking forward to spending another $220, plus labor, replacing the spider wheel and drum in another year or two.

Then there is a guy on the internet who posted a video of his Kenmore front loader with the same issues. When he took the drums apart, there were three screws sticking out of the metal drum, scoring the wall of the outer drum which is what causes the washer to leak. My washer is on the second floor. We have a pan under the washer, but this would be a nightmare if our washer leaked. Also, the shaking is so bad we've had to repair the sheetrock. The salesperson was aware that this was on a second floor. This is a product that should not be on the second floor of a stick built house. As for the dryer, it also melts fleece and synthetics so anything made with these fabrics have to be hung to dry.

I used to be a diehard Kenmore appliance person, but I have purchased three different major Kenmore appliances in the past 4 1/2 years and I will never buy another one. They are high priced junk! I think there should be a class action suit against Sears for knowingly making faulty products. Purchased a Samsung yesterday, but not from Sears.

I am writing to you today to document the sequence of events regarding the repair of my Kenmore front load washing machine purchased from Sears on August 2, 2006 at the Sears store in Nashua, New Hampshire. On 12/10/09, I called Sears to request a Service Tech appointment to repair the above-mentioned washing machine, which had gone dead and locked the door after pressing the start button and hearing a popping noise. The man who took my call asked me to check the breakers and the plug and to hold down the start button for over 60 seconds. After none of that worked, he told me that a Service Technician would be here on the 14th between 8 am and 5 pm.

On Monday at 4 pm, the technician called and told my son that he would be here at 5 pm. At 5 when he arrived, my husband showed him the washing machine. The technician examined the machine and opened the door. He said it most likely needed a control board but he couldn't order one without a model and serial number which were not on the inside of the door like they were supposed to be. He asked my husband to find the purchase information, and when he brought the Sears files from 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009, the two of them looked through every piece of paper to find something referencing the model and serial numbers. In our possession is everything from the original receipts, all charge card statements, the device manuals (for models 110.4586, 4587) and several miscellaneous pieces of correspondence, but nothing containing a specific model and serial number.

The technician said that this was not the first time a piece of equipment had left the factory without this information and what would most likely happen, was that a credit would be issued for the MPA and a replacement washer would be forthcoming. When I got home, my husband told me what had transpired and that I would have call the Service Department on Tuesday morning.

On Tuesday, I called the Service Department and spoke with John who couldn't have been more pleasant. He read me the information that Sears had on file, that in 2006 and 2007 Sears had been out and worked on this machine, once for a door jam and the second time to perform scheduled maintenance. John told me that he worked in service contracts and while I was on hold, he had been on the phone with Nancy from the warranty department. He said both of them had looked at the notes on file from yesterday. He didn't understand how the service department had been here twice and not recorded the serial number. He also explained that all parts are ordered via the serial number. John then gave me the number for Customer Solutions, 1-800-297-3370, which would be the department that would order a replacement (which would be a lengthy process) or I could call Kenmore, 1-800-549-4505, and they could send out a replacement sticker with the model and serial number, which would only take a few days.

On Wednesday morning, I called Kenmore hoping for a speedy solution since the laundry was piling up. I spoke with Sheldon who told me that I do have a case but he wasn't the person who could help. He told me my service number was ** and that he would put me on hold while he found someone that could resolve this issue. The next person I talked to was Audrey of Service Contracts who wanted to cancel my MPA and send me a check for the contract that was never serviceable. Audrey's tone was very unkind and when I explained that I had paid full price for both the washing machine and the dryer and two service agreements, and that I did so in good faith, meaning that when they needed servicing that the services would be rendered and that I wouldn't be left with a broken unit in my home that is full of laundry that can't be gotten out and a machine that I have to get out of my home and taken somewhere for disposal.

After all, my first Kenmore top loading washer lived to be 22 years old; this machine is only 3 years old and it should be repaired. Audrey then thought I should have a conversation with Danielle at 1-800-549-4505 who also worked in Customer Solutions. After going around and around with Danielle, she said her job is just to service billing disputes, schedule services or replace an item that qualifies and mine did not qualify. She gave me 3 numbers because Kenmore would have to resolve this. She gave me the numbers 1-800-426-9345,1-888-536-6673 and 1-800-426-9345. She said the best number to call was the 1-888-536-6673.

At that number, I reached Jessie who works in the repair part of the contracts department. After going round and round with her, she had me call Alicia in Service Contracts because this was clearly a service contracts problem. I got hold of Alicia at 1-800-927-7836. After telling her the whole story, she said that since the service department had been out to service the machine in 2006 and 2007, they would have to come again and try to fix it or find another number on it. She told me to call Jim, the service manager at 1-603-642-0366, but he was at lunch. I would have to call him in 45 minutes.

When I did get hold of Jim, he told me that decisions had already been made above and around him and that everything was well documented and no one would be coming to work on this machine or get the clothes out. He also mentioned that if someone came out now, there would be liability issues regarding the clothes. I lost it a little at this point, because now I had spent the day on the phone or on hold and nothing was resolved.

So at this point, I called the main service number and listened to the options. When I heard the option for the no lemon guarantee, I pressed that option and got Latoya on the phone. Latoya said that she was prepared to send me a check for $309.99 and when I said that my first charge card statement showed that the MPA for the two machines was more than that, she then got really snippy and gave me the following breakdown; washer $999.88, service agreement for washer $309.99, the dryer $939.99 and the service agreement for the dryer was $269.99, for a total spent of $2519.96. However, my first statement listed the total spent and on my charge card to be $2,749.85. It must be the pedestals that were ordered with the washer and the dryer.

My statement has some crazy numbers on it starting with Protection Agreement, $2809.85, then credits for cancelled appliances and then another Protection Agreement, $1,149.98. I am assuming that the reason these prices don't match anything on record is because of the Sears Home Promotion that you ran from 7/30 to 8/5/06 which was when we bought the washer and dryer and MPAs.

All I really want is my washing machine fixed. If you can't fix it (which seems ridiculous since it most likely can be fixed) and you have a lemon clause, then why not apply your lemon clause, since clearly in three visits, the serial number isn't going to suddenly appear there?! It is just so the wrong thing to have one more dead washing machine rotting on the planet when that doesn't need to be the case. I have not requested the cancellation of the MPA and a check for the $309.99, hoping the receipt of this letter may prompt some action and that not all hope for Sears is lost.

He wrote on the receipt, "balance block broke off the tub and broke the shocks." The tub is lying on the ground. It needs a new tub, shocks etc. Sears will do absolutely nothing because the warranty is up. To me this is a defective wash machine that is not even two years old. I have not been able to contact Kenmore at all. All websites take me back to Sears. I spent three hours on the phone talking to Sears with no resolution at all. I am a single person that lives alone so the machine was not getting overused. Doesn't a manufacturer have any responsibility for the products they sell even if the warranty is up? I purchased a Kenmore Washer 3.5 Super Capacity on 9/9/05 from Sears (Model #41744052400) and we've had nothing but problems ever since. I purchased the matching electric dryer as well. First, the washer had to go back the first time it was used. It must have been dropped in the warehouse - broken drum brackets. Then, the dryer never shut off and became red hot along with my wall and floor - bad sensor. Most of the damages were covered under warranty (i.e. broken drum bracket, door lock on washer, door adjustment, etc.) but now that the warranty has expired, the mold build up is awful and the main control panel went bad.

This will cost half of what I paid for the washer to repair - very disappointed in the products. I would hope that a $1,500.00 investment would last longer than 4 years. I definitely would not recommend this product. I am currently looking to go back to the top load washer and get away from all the bells and whistles. I just want clean clothes that get spun out without a mold smell and black lines left on my light color clothing.

At that time, Sears replaced the motor control board. On Aug. 8, 2005, it had error codes and was putting stains on clothes. They replaced the ETC board and the wash plate. On Feb. 10, 2006, there were more clothes stains. They replaced the control board and u-joint assembly. On June 14, 2007, it was making unusual noises and still have stains. They replaced the u-joint assembly again. On Aug. 8, 2008, grease was still getting on the clothes. He couldn't find anything wrong with machine so the tech cleaned the tub and dispensers. On Sept. 24, 2009, it was leaking water onto the floor and LD error code on display panel. They replaced pump.

On Oct. 1, 2009, it was leaking water onto the floor with the same error code of LD. The tech took the pump apart and cleaned lint out of impellers. I was informed by the tech to stop washing rugs of any kind. Rug washing is a problem; however, instructions on the lid explain which settings to use when washing rugs. On Oct. 15, 2009, I called service for error code LD again. The rep informed the tech will decide if this problem falls within the warranty. I had for less than 6 years a Kenmore front load washer model # 417.43042200 that started to make a loud noise when on spin cycle. I took it apart and found that the shaft holding the tub was broken due to corrosion. Apparently, the aluminum brackets which are part of the drum were totally corroded by the soap or softener (we use only well-known brand of detergent and softener). I called Sears because the tub has a lifetime warranty but was told that they have to send a technician to do the repair to get the part for free. According to the web, it is a major repair that takes over 4 hours and they recommend to change several other parts. I estimated that the repair cost will be much higher if I use the warranty than if I do it myself.

Consequently, I ordered a new drum assembly from Sears (which was quite cheaper than other discount places) for a total cost of $339. I cleaned all the other assemblies and reassembled the washer. That seems to work very well. I am very concerned about the corrosion of the drum brackets because I have another of these washers and expect the same problem. By the way the drum assembly I got from Electrolux is exactly the same design as the original one. I poured epoxy in all the holes near the tub to prevent corrosion like on the original bracket and hope it will last longer but I still think that there is a manufacturing default. I took several pictures and if someone is interested he/she can email me at ** with a subject line: Drum assembly.

We bought a Kenmore Elite HE4T front loading washer less than 4 years ago for $1,500. Ouch. I did something I normally don't do, which is buy a two year additional warranty. Thank goodness. Even though it is supposed to be quiet, it is not at all. The whole house shakes when it is on, any spin cycle higher than low. The service said this is normal. In less than 2 years, I started getting the dreaded F14 and/or dL, or some other message accompanied by the loud beep beep. I was told to unplug it and replug it, not at all easy since the plug is behind the washer. I did this so many times I hurt my back (and no, I work out and don't, well didn't, have back problems). Usually this would work, but eventually I had to call them again.

Luckily, my two year service was still in effect. The guy came out, was very professional, fixed it and it was fine for several months. Then it started again. I was told it might be due to the shaking. I should secure the washer better. Really, how? Well I could have someone come out for $75 and check it out. I passed. A few plugs and unplugs and it started working again. A few months later, I noticed water under my washer. I called service and $75 later, they could find no problem, but no more water was coming out so it must be fine. Two weeks ago, the dreaded beeping started again. I tried the same thing, but this time, no luck. I finally gave in and called Sears.

A week later (today), he shows up only to tell me, like I've heard from others, that I should have had the extended warranty (several hundred more dollars on an already expensive machine that is supposed to last?). Not surprisingly (anymore), now that I am out of warranty, my motherboard is now not working and not fixable. I can either get a new one for $300 plus $150 (minimum) for installation or I can get a rebuilt motherboard (sure, I feel really good about getting a rebuilt one when the new ones aren't working right) for $155 and $150 for labor. It will be 10 days to two weeks.

But my favorite part - I have to decide now or I will have to start the whole process again. No, I can't talk to his manager. Managers aren't allowed to talk to clients and yes, I can talk to my husband but I have to do it at that moment because my service call is over. At that point, I don't ever want to deal with this company again. I don't trust their product and I don't want to throw any more money into this money pit. Expensive lesson learned.

After my front loading clothes washer broke down, I purchased a top loading Kenmore washer in February of 2009. I bought it because it was much less expensive than a front loader, and because the salesman told me it was an excellent machine. Well, it's not an excellent machine. In fact, I don't even consider it a good machine. I have been unhappy with it since day 1.

First of all, in order for my clothes to come out without having the wrinkles pressed into the fabrics, I must use a water softener, which I never used in my front loader. And still, I have a great deal more ironing to do. Also, the water softener dispenser is in the agitator and unless I clean out the dispenser after every other load, it retains enough of the water softener to have it leak out of the agitator thus staining my clothes as I remove them from the machine. The machine is also much noisier than my old front loader.

I would very much like to come into Sears to buy a front loading machine, but I just can't afford to lay out $700 or $800 at this time, especially since I spent $571.43 for the top loader just 6 months ago, on Feb. 13, 2009 to be exact. I wish Sears had some sort of trade back policy by which some sort of financial adjustment toward the purchase of a front loader could be made. I've always been happy with Sears products and service. But this time the product has not lived up to the promise made to me by the salesman.

I purchased a Sears Kenmore Elite Oasis HE top loading washer in November 2007. In October 2008, it was making a noise that sounded like something broken was spinning around somewhere inside the washer. We checked and could find nothing visible. It also did not seem to be draining water from the clothes properly. I called repair and a tech checked it out (spent very little time and really didn't seem to know about this machine), and declared there was nothing wrong with it. A little over a month later, I stepped into my basement family room and onto soggy wall to wall carpeting. The washer room is adjacent to the family room. The washer pump had failed in some fashion and flooded the washer room and part of the family room!

I called repair and was scheduled for a tech to come out on November 21. Meanwhile we had the task of ripping up carpet, moving my husband’s business inventory, our stored items, and furniture. We spent many days trying to dry out the basement with a wet vacuum, fans and dehumidifiers. We were then and still are concerned about mold! On November 21, the repairman came out and said that it was the water pump that failed but, he did not have one and would have to order one. He informed me that it would not arrive for 2 weeks. I now had 5 family members arriving at our home that day to spend the Thanksgiving holiday and weekend with us, and a wet and horrible smelling room (where they were supposed to stay) and no washer for 10 people!

On December 1, after many calls to find out about the status of my part order, it finally arrived at my home. I called repair to schedule an appointment. They didn't want to give me one until December 10. I blew up at them and finally got a supervisor (after being disconnected several times and calling other phone numbers) who gave me an appointment for December 3. When that repairman looked at the part and the washer, he told me they had ordered the wrong part (my head exploded at this point). He said he would check his truck and see if he had anything that would do the trick. He installed a pump and declared it fixed.

Fast forward 8 months later to August 30. My husband stepped into our basement and found soggy wall to wall carpet for a second time. His business inventory was wet and our washer room and part of the family room once again flooded. We just stood there in shock that this had happened again. I called repair right away and made an appointment for September 2. We once again spent all of Sunday and Monday wet vacuuming, ripping up carpet and trying to dry out our belongings. Even now there are 4 fans and a dehumidifier going 24/7, and we are of course concerned about mold.

September 2 arrived and no one showed up from Sears. I called and inquired and was told that my appointment was scheduled for September 9. My reply was that I would never have agreed to September 9, a full week and a half after my home was flooded. I told them that I was told September 2, although the repair center clearly entered September 9 in their system. I was told there was no way anyone would come out here any sooner. I asked for a supervisor and she argued with me and did not want to give me to a supervisor. She finally relented and when the supervisor came on the line and said her name was Sarah, I was promptly disconnected. I spent the next 35 minutes trying to get a supervisor on the line. Seven separate calls and I finally gave up.

I wrote a letter to Bruce Johnson, CEO of Sears Holdings in Hoffman Estates, IL. So here I am, no washer, a wet basement, utility bills that will be astronomical because of the 24/7 dry-out process, wall to wall carpet that I don't want to leave in my home, Laundromat trips every day and all the expense and time it takes. When I called the National Customer Relations line and requested a new washer, I was told that my master protection agreement does not cover a new washer unless there have been 4 service repair calls (with parts replaced each time) in one calendar year. I said that it seems to me that since the original repairman did not fix the problem and my basement flooded, and then it happened again 8 months later, that should be more than equal to 4 repair calls! Nope. I just got the party line. We are so disgusted with Sears and it goes without saying that we will never buy from them again. What we want from Sears is to have our washer replaced with a new one.

I had to call someone out within the year for the dryer because of the F1 error message. Roughly a year later, I’ve had to call someone because of the F1 error message on the washer. I'm told it will cost $371.00 to replace the mother board. After only about a year and a half!

In speaking with Sears Customer Service and Kenmore Tech Services and Customer Solutions, their only concern was that a protective agreement hadn't been purchased so there was nothing they could do. My main concern is that there is a recall on prior models of the Elite HE and the mother board is being replaced for free. I'm told my washer (model #110.27087604) is not on the list. However I'm experiencing the same problem. It appears the problem has been passed on to the newer models. If this is the case, the newer models should receive the new mother board also. The repairman said the machine was shot and needed a new main bearing. The purchase price of the machine was $799.88 in April of 06. The repair bill estimate today, 07/08/09, is $890.00! No offer of assistance - no help - pure expense. The repairman simply said, "You should have bought the extended warranty". The machine has three years of light use (just my wife and I at home these days) and has done a small fraction of the work the old machine did every year for many years. It's junk now. The price to fix it is more than the cost of a new machine.

The cost of the machine was $799.88 and the repair is estimated at $890.00. That's $1690 in cost in just over three years. I hope other consumers don't get stuck with these machines. I feel terrible for any young couple who may make a significant investment in a Sears Kenmore washer and may have a similar experience.

I purchased a Kenmore Elite HE3 Front Load Washer & Dryer approximately 3 years ago from Sears. I have had numerous problems with both units, but I am really concerned about the musty smell coming from the machine. It's getting on my clothes, and makes the whole room smell. I have gotten nowhere with Sears, and have given up trying. They are very indifferent to my concerns, and basically said that there is nothing they can do for me. I've wasted $1,200.00 for the price of the machines! I would love for them to just come get it and give me my money back on both units.

Beginning the third year of using my Kenmore HE3 (model number 44836), I began smelling mold. From then on, I left the washer door open, hoping it would dry out and the mold smell would go away. It didn't. I went online to see if there might be a solution to my problem and was shocked to find so many other people fighting the same problem. Typical home remedies tried were not successful for me or for others who tried them.

I called Sears for help. What a huge disappointment. I was told they could not help me as my washer was out of warranty (which I knew), and they would not give me a solution over the phone for their legal protection. I said I would be happy to sign something stating I would not sue them if the solution didn't work. It didn't matter.

I understand that repairmen have no solution to the problem other than guessing that the customer is using too much soap. (I measure every time.) I cannot get any satisfaction from Sears but intend to go higher up and continue to pursue this matter. I was extremely disappointed at their lack of assistance or concern. I had thought there would have been a recall or a posted fix to the mold problem.

I purchased the matching dryer at the same time. And in 2007, I purchased another front loader and dryer for our house in the mountains. Had I known about the mold smell, needless to say, I would not have made the second purchase.

I purchased a top of the line Kenmore front loader washing machine and dryer from Sears in March 2003. I kept the extended warranty until 2006 when my husband lost his job. A few weeks ago, the machine started making a banging noise. I had Sears out to look at it and was told that the bearings were shot. The suggestion, "throw it in the trash". He then handed me an estimate of $1,583.68 to repair it. I told the technician that the drum had a lifetime warranty. He agreed and the new amount to repair the machine was $1,109.85. When I was given the estimate and looked it over, there was $889.96 in additional parts to complete the repair. I questioned the tech and he stated that the drum is like an egg. The parts are not reusable. I called Sears and expressed my anger.

When I decided to make this purchase, I weighed many things. It was an expensive purchase but decided not to skimp, go with their top product and now, I am told to junk it. If I knew that their products have such a short life span, I would have purchased something much more inexpensive. The washing machine now will not spin, or agitate and water pours out from the bottom all over my floors. I took the bottom off and the rubber seal that encases the drum is literally cracked in half. I was on the phone again with several people at Sears yesterday and the best they can do is to give me $150.00 off labor and $100.00 off parts. That still has me putting out $900.00 plus to repair it.

I feel if a lifetime part goes bad, it is their responsibility to have the machine back in working order and if those parts are not reusable, then the job should be done at whatever expense it is to get the drum working. That part went bad, so it is Sears' responsibility to get it performing again. They will not budge. I have 5 other Sears appliances in my home and will never purchase another. Like I told the woman yesterday, I want it fixed, but I do not think I should have to pay for parts.

In September 2006, I purchased a Kenmore matching front loading washer/dryer, Kenmore range and Kenmore refrigerator/freezer. As of March 2009, I have had to call customer service to repair my washer, costing me $350. Coincidence or not, my range over this past weekend, 6/6/09, experienced a runaway temperature which could have lead to a fire and my dryer mysteriously stopped working. I called and requested service and was told I was responsible for $75 per appliance for diagnostics and then the repair amount on top of this. With all appliances being only 2 1/2 years old, and for 3 out 4 to break in a row, Sears Kenmore brand should be ashamed of themselves for putting their name on appliances we have put our trust in. Are there any consumer laws protecting me? I look forward to any assistance in this matter. I have the repair men coming this week on 6/10 and 6/11. I’m unable to cook and launder for family of 5 and have no financial means to replace these appliances. Never mind affording to spend an additional $350 each for their repair!

It quit working full of water and with a load of clothes in it. When I called the customer service 800 number, the lady I spoke with told me to unplug the wash and plug it back in to see if it needed to be reset and this was after I told her the washer was full on clothes and water. I again explained to her the the plug was behind the washer and since it was full of water and clothes that would be impossible. The representative told me the next available date for a service person to come out was on Thursday, June 4,2009.

This is a brand new washer. Why should it take four days for Sears to send out a service person on a washer that is five months old? If Sears does not have enough tech then they should contract the service out to other companies. It is summer, 95-100 degrees outside. The water in the washer is smelling and when I called them back today to let them know, they didn't care. I've always bought Kenmore washers but this will be the last one I buy!

I have read on several web sites about this same washer having the same problem, then after it is repaired it will last about 3 months and go out again. Not only do you have to pay an outrageous amount to repair you have to turn around and buy a warranty to protect yourself. Sears knows this washer continually has this problem and will do nothing to help with a recall or whatever. I have complained to anyone I can at Sears and it does not help. So I deal with the stupid washer not working having to push the stop and start button over and over again until it gets through the washing, rinsing, & spinning to being done.

The second one was honest and said the washer was poorly designed. If you run a small load, the water splashes up and over the tub and onto the floor. Of course, they were trying to sell me the extended warranty, which would only mean I'd call a repairman. He'd come out and say we must be loading the clothes wrong. Since there is no fix they can do, I'd spend more money and waste my time waiting for the repairman to come. If this is the kind of product Sears is now making, it will eventually come back to bite them since people talk and will stop buying Sears products. Sears used to be a trustworthy name. I've never experienced such a nightmare, nor have I ever needed a repairman for any of my washers (I've only had 2 since they lasted a long time). So this experience has not only left me with a lemon washer, but also disgusted at Sears for having the nerve to put this product on market.

I purchased Kenmore Elite Oasis HE series canyon capacity washer and matching dryer (Mod #s 110.27072600 - washer, and 110.67072600 - dryer. Installers set the machines in place, plugged in and attached the dryer vent hose, then left. The drier wouldn't work; there was no power cord! I tried to use the washer; it tripped circuit breakers three times. Behind the washer, I saw a bunch of wires with exposed ends sticking out of the back of the machine. The bundle of wires was smashed between the control panel/top of the machine and the tub portion. I called Sears to fix the problem. They said, "The power cords don't come with that dryer - you have to order one as an extra.”

Two weeks later, the repairman fixed the washer (we bought our own power cord for the dryer). I could no longer see the wires and the machine worked for 45 minutes, then circuit breakers tripped again. I called Sears to fix the problem. Four weeks later, the repairman could not fix it and stated the problem was our home's electric wiring and I needed to hire an electrician (at my own expense). I hired a master electrician the next day. He tested everything from wall outlet to circuit breakers. My home is only five years old, and amps to outlet were more than ample for both machines. The problem, he stated, was obviously the dryer. (I'd run my other dryer for 4 years on the same outlets with no problems.)

I called Sears back and recounted the electrician's feedback. Sears said they stand behind their repairman's advice and would not fix under a warranty, but we could pay for a visit and repair (min. $300). I decided to call a local repair company, but both machines inexplicably started working without tripping the breakers within two days, so I canceled the service call. Within a month, the dryer started beeping incessantly throughout the drying cycle. This wasn't a big enough issue to me to try to fight with Sears’ customer service again, so we've been living with it. This week, the lid on the washer broke in and the door lock sensor was not locking the lid so the machine would cycle. It therefore wouldn't run for more than five seconds. I contacted Sears. They will not repair as a warranty call; service call would be at my expense. I did some research on Internet and learned that many people have had the same problems with their same model machines.

Sears is well aware of the issue and states that replacement parts are available for a total cost of about $650 - new control/touch panel for dryer, new lock for washer, new lock sensor for washer, and replacement lid hinge that broke off completely due to rust (inside the lid!). The way I see it, I bought what was represented as the top of the line washer and dryer from Sears and from the day the set was installed, I've had constant electrical and electronic issues that have rendered the set useless to me. For the first two months I owned the set, I had less than one day of usable service. Two years later, I am once again without a working set of laundry appliances. Sears is aware of the reasons and they are common problems with these machines. I believe that should constitute a recall or at least a permanent fix to the problems. Sears will not do this unless I pay them almost as much as one of the machines cost new.

On March 8, 2008, Sears delivered a Kenmore front-loading washer and dryer. This completed a large appliance purchase since late January, totaling $6300, mostly in Kenmore appliances, from the Fredericksburg, VA store. Since about January 2009, I had noticed that the washer was really shaking when spinning - far more than usual. Yet it was level. The troubleshooting section of the appliance manual said to not worry about it - these washers make a lot of noise. So I did nothing.

On March 7, 2009, something broke inside the washer, leading to water draining out into the drain pan. I had not previously noticed that the horrible vibration had shifted the drain pain over and dislodged the caulking around the drainpipe, so all the water went onto the tile, then dripped through the ceiling into our garage. My husband had to remove a large chunk of drywall and insulation, let it dry, then replace it and repaint. Also around the garage door into the kitchen, as the water came down inside the wall. Fortunately, he owns a drywall company, so was able to fix it easily.

I was away from home from 6:30am to 7:30pm on Sunday, March 8, and we didn't realize that was the day the warranty expired. Once I got the kids to bed, I collapsed in bed myself (dance competition weekend). I submitted a service request at 8:15 a.m. on Monday, March 9, 8 hours after the warranty expired, even though the actual damage occurred within the warranty period.

Any self-respecting company would extend the warranty 24 hours to satisfy a long-time customer, particularly one that purchased that many appliances from them. I have gotten nothing but the runaround from Sears, and the bottom line is that they will give me $250 toward labor and materials. We will never purchase from Sears again, and we will urge all of our friends, relatives, and neighbors to also boycott Sears. My husband works for a major DC home builder, and he will recommend that they never consider Kenmore appliances if they ever change appliance manufacturers.

I had a major issue with replacing the washer with the same model or another model, because I did not want to go through this problem in another year. Finally, I decided to replace it with the same model because it was the blue model and there was no other blue model to match my dryer. I figured this would come back to haunt me.

Approximately two weeks ago, my dryer began turning off before the time it was supposed to end, started without anyone touching any buttons, go from 40 minutes to 16 minutes only after two minutes of drying time, buttons changing their real function such as the stop button would start the machine and the power button would turn the machine off. We called the repair guy who was nice but that's where the positives stopped. He did not open the dryer door or unscrew any screw on the machine. His diagnosis was based solely on our report of an F2 code. I could have given this over the phone and saved myself $68. He told me that it would cost $273.99 in just parts. I asked him why I would pay this when I could add another $150 and have a new dryer. He told me I would have to address this with the company.

I contacted the Columbus, Ohio and the Alabama offices and they told me that there was nothing they could do because this dryer only has a one-year warranty. I even tried to find out if there were specific parts on this dryer that may have been recalled, but I was transferred 5 times to be told that another department could help me. No one seemed to be able to tell me this.

My next step was to try and obtain my service record for my washer. I was told this would be sent to me when I was having trouble with my washer, but they never sent it. I dropped that request when they replaced my washer (the service guy would give me a printout on some visits but not others). I wanted the entire history so I could contact my local television station so that I may educate the public on the poor service of Sears, poor quality of Kenmore brand, and encourage others to only buy brands with good warranties. FYI Speed Queen has a three-year warranty. I again contacted BBB. This time to obtain my washer's service record but have not heard anything as of yet. I also cancelled my Sears credit card and will never shop there or buy Kenmore/Whirlpool again. Public, please BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!!

They instructed me to go to sears.com and click on the customer service link. There you will be able to make your complaint but need to include model #, serial #, and date of purchase. This action may or may not result in a recall, but this is the way to go about it. I figure the more complaint they have, perhaps they will issue a recall. What do you say, you in?

If there is a few second break in the flashing, we sometimes can get it to start. My last 2 Kenmore washers lasted 15+ years EACH so I didn't think it was necessary to purchase the extended warranty. Now we have a piece of junk that will cost an arm and leg to fix on, what it appears to be, an annual basis. Is there a class action lawsuit, and, if so, how does one join in?

Purchased a Kenmore HE2 plus front loading automatic washer. Clothes stink. Washer stinks like rotten eggs. Permeates throughout the whole house. Towels and linens stink and unable to get the funk out with bleach, oxy, fabreeze, etc. Unable to run the clean washer cycle because of an error code that keeps popping up - rL - and of course there is nothing mentioned in the manual about how to troubleshoot this code.

For this clearly pervasive problem, Sears at a minimum should provide a hotline to help people over the phone. I have to pay for a service call just to have some doofus come and tell me why I can't run the clean washer cycle and fix the stinky laundry problem. Even then, it may not fix it and then we are stuck with buying another machine. This is ridiculous. Someone should file a class action lawsuit against Sears.

We purchased the Kenmore top of the line washer and dryer about two years ago. We bought the extended warranty. The first time our washer broke we called for warranty work. We were told it would be 4 weeks to set an appointment. Someone had to be at our home between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm to let the repairman in. This is a whole day away from work. The man came and asked me what's wrong with the washer? I told him he was the repairman - figure it out.

He looked at the machine and ordered parts. Said he would be out the next week to install the parts. We would have to meet him between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm another day to fix the machine. Another day away from work. It is now going on 6 weeks without the machine fixed. The repairman came and said the wrong parts had been delivered. We would have to wait until the correct parts came in and schedule another day for repairs. This happened three times. The wrong part was sent three times. Finally the correct part was shipped and another day away from work between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm for the repairman to come. It took almost three months and six days missed work to have this machine fixed.

Now the machine is broken again. The repairman was here last Wednesday (a day off work for us) and again had to order three parts. Only two arrived and I don't even know if they are the correct parts. We have to schedule another day between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm for the repairs to be done. What kind of warranty is this? I will never buy anything at Sears again and I will encourage all I know to not buy there. I think it is criminal that Sears can offer an extended warranty when they are offering nothing of value. The washing machine destroys our clothes and doesn't even clean them well. It is a piece of junk.

My wife and I bought a Kenmore front end stackable washer and dryer 6 years ago. The washing machine broke last week and we were told that the cost would be $1200 to fix for a $600 washer. From reading other posts the washing machine only lasts for about 5 to 6 years which is less than the average for a durable good like this.

But here is the problem, our dryer still works and we do not want to buy a new dryer but we are unsure if a similar model and size washer will be compatible with our existing dryer. According to some sales people at Sears they change the stacking requirements from year to year on like models. A like model is a model that is the same size with the same specs and basically looks the same. Think of it as newer edition college text book - you know how it works.

I went to Sears twice and spoke to 6 different people and they all gave different answers about the compatibility concern. I then called Kenmore parts and customer service and was bounced around and hung up upon. I had to call back 3 times, was transferred 6 times and spoke to 7 different people. The customer service at Sears is awful because employees or their sales associates are on commissions and have little to no product knowledge... They are only there to sell and when the product breaks, it is a different department for that type of customer support. The customer service line has zero empowerment for their customers and zero accountability.

So to buy a new washer I need to buy a new dryer unless I take the chance that a similar Kenmore model will stack to my existing dryer but that will cost $1500 with tax, install, etc... and I have to buy a Kenmore with a life span of 5-6 years and deal with Sears.

Last summer I bought my elderly father and new stepmother the Kenmore Elite washer/dryer combo for their 1st wedding anniversary presents in their new home and a few months later they told me about a strange smell from mildew. From my own experience with all my washers and especially my Samsung pair, I immediately told them that 99% of the problems of this sort especially with new front loading units is that users make the SERIOUS MISTAKE OF CLOSING THE WASHER DOOR WHENEVER IT IS NOT IN USE!!

Always leave a washer's door as open as possible unless it is absolutely necessary to close it for a short time (for child safety) when not in use! One must always remember that no machine empties itself entirely and at least some little bit of rinse water is always left inside any washing machine. Not allowing it to dry out as fast and completely as possible will result in mold and mildew which is VERY UNHEALTHY! Nobody would build an energy wasting heater to do this job just for the cosmetic pleasure of being able to seal the doors at all times, and even if, the seals would still stay wet anyways!

Having the door open or slightly ajar at very least in a laundry room is no inconvenience and their washer immediately stopped exhibiting any odor problems, without special cleaners or wasting empty bleach-out cycles or any other need for attention! Also remember that if you use those set-back thermostats for your home heating and freeze your laundry room, doing a hot steamy wash in an ice cold washing machine will likely risk frying your appliances computer in short order! A little bit of practical common sense can eliminate a lot of headaches!

I tell the man that is unacceptable let me speak to a supervisor and he tells me there are no supervisors in Sears and that this is the only appointment that I am going to get. I tell him to give me the corporate information and to make that appointment and he says he does not have that information. I tell him to make the appointment and I will call the number that I am showing on my computer search.

He hangs up. I phone back to try to reach someone else and just ask to speak to a supervisor and I am told there are no supervisors. Then the man acts as though he is going through the motions of making an appointment when I haven't asked him to I keep requesting to speak to someone above him and he puts me on hold and says it will be about 15 minutes so I hold. He comes back on and says are you still there And says I will be processing your order now. I answer I have not placed an order with you sir, please give me to a supervisor he puts me on hold and i get disconnected.

Well this has happened again with a third person but I have her employee number Helen 46336 which probably does not exist and she placed me on hold and I was disconnected. So I am so angry, I think this a way for them not to have to replace their equipment and on their website I have in quotes what it reads Either way, your item will be fixed properly, Guaranteed.

I can't even get them to repair it promptly forget properly because they haven't fixed it properly the other two time they cam out. What do I do next? The number that I have phone over and over was 1-800-4- and I was given 1-800-6- where they acted as though they were helping me and then Iwas lost in space.

I bought a Kenmore Elite HE3 washer because it was supposed to be the quietest washer you could buy, and it used very little water. After I used it a few times, my entire family started breaking out and itching. I changed the washing powders, but some of us can't get any relief from this. I was told by the repairman, that it may be that with the water we have, it just wasn't getting all the washing powders out. I am now running all clothes through two rinses, and still have some problems.

I also have had the repair tech. out to my home 3 times because of all the noise this washer has made ever since we bought it. It shakes the entire two upper stories of the house. I can't throw a load of clothes in before I go to bed, because it wakes me every time it goes through the spin cycle. The technician told me that it needed a concrete floor to set on, and I wouldn't have this problem. This washer is not advertised to be quiet only if you have a concrete floor! I spent $1000.00 on a washer that I must replace, or I am going to have to build a new house to be able to use it!

The walls in my house are starting to crack in places, and my doors aren't closing as they should.

I purchased a kenmore elite with a service warranty five years ago. I had several problems with the washer not spinning. Each time a repair tech came to check the washer, I was told there was nothing wrong with it. Two weeks after the last repair tech visit the washer stopped working. The parts took over four months to arrive, and the repair tech kept changing the times he could come to repair the washer. I finally told him to forget it and I'm now in the process of buying another washer and dryer, but not a kenmore.

Check your warranty contract for information about Sears reimbursing you for renting a washer/dryer that needs repair and is still under warranty. I found out about this after complaining to a Sears rep for repair service and immediately rented a washer. It took about two weeks to get the reimbursment. Sears asked me to not tell the rental place that they offered this service.

Seventeen months ago, we, like so many before us, purchased the new state-of-the-art Kenmore Oasis Elite top loading washing machine. Although it is beautiful, we are disappointed that it so quickly has thrown the ever popular F51 code. We did not purchase an extended service plan.

The repairman, who came to our home (4 hours late) yesterday encouraged us to purchase one. Although he cleaned the sensor and the machine works fine now, he would not sell us a plan until we had replaced the faulty part. He openly admitted that the part is faulty and that Kenmore has already engineered a better replacement. However, we are responsible for the purchase despite the fact that the original part is clearly faulty. For the amount of money they want for a repair, we can go out to an appliance store, not Sears, and purchase a new, old-fashioned machine with a life span of 20 years.

Sears/Kenmore will not stand behind this product even though they admit it's defective. We have been told to expect this problem to recur. When that happens, we will replace it. We are already into the machine for about $1000, and I am unwilling to invest further. This expensive lesson has taught us that Sears is unwilling to provide appropriate care to consumers. For about $200 per unit, they could replace the defective piece, avoid lawsuits, and earn indisputable customer loyalty. Instead, they are losing patronage faster than my husband is losing hair!

We have not gotten sucked too far into the economic damage...other than the original exorbitant purchase price and the $65 to have a temporary repair. We will not invest further into a faulty product.

Very poor quality of product. When you call repair, you always have to wait an addl period of time after their initial service call for the part because they never come prepared to fix the problem even though you tell them exactly what the machine is doing and the code you are getting.

You are without a way to do laundry for the family for an extended period of time and I live 20 miles from the nearest laundermat. I also must take time off from work to wait for the repair person at least twice for each service call.

I have a Sears Kenmore HE4t front loading washer that is 2 years old (new). It has a constant smell of mold, visible mold around the rubber ring inside the door and my whole laundry area smells like mildew. I can not get rid of it. If you look online there are numerous complaints. I have contacted Kenmore & they have told me to clean it with bleach & run vinegar through a cycle.

I was told by them that it was a design flaw because of the water not draining properly from that seal. They have since redesigned the seal. What about all of us who have mold around all of our family's clothing, bedding, linens, etc. Can something be done? I would like the seal replaced with the new design if possible or the washer replaced. It can not be healthy. Thank you for your assistance.

My children have respiratory problems. Can this mold contribute to that or worsen the problem? Does the mold transfer on to clothes? Because my laundry often smells musty, sometimes I have to rewash them, hoping it comes out.

Our Kenmore washer, which is two years old, has been having a problem all month. On August 4, 2008, it would not turn on. The first available service call was more than a week later on August 13 which I took. The repair tech came and hooked up the computer and said the washer was fine. That the issue was the washer was plugged into a GFI outlet and according to the manufacturer it could not be. Weird since nothing anywhere on our paperwork or when we purchased it indicated such a thing and we had used it for two years utilizing that outlet. He left, we plugged into another outlet nearby which we used for our dryer.

Needless to say, problems still existed. Called back right away and was told that they would contact the tech and send him back that day. We heard nothing and no one came. Next day, called again, after two calls and a talk to a supervisor got a new appointment for Friday, August 15, 2008. Service techs come and run their computer and tell us the washer is fine - there are no problems. That afternoon, I go to do laundry and washer will not turn on. Called service line and was told that they would have the technician call back within the hour and come back out (heard that one before).

I called back 1 hour and 15 minutes later and was told that would not happen and put on hold for 35 minutes to wait for a supervisor. I called back on another line (third call that day) while this was happening and was put on hold for another 20 minutes waiting for a supervisor. Hung up from that call, and called back again (call #4 for the afternoon) and got someone who informed me it was too late for them to come out that day best they could do was August 20, 2008 from 8am to 5pm. They indicated a unit manager would call me back within 24 hours, 5 days later I'm still waiting on that.

This morning, August 20, I called as instructed on Friday to get a feel for where our house was on the schedule. Believe it or not, they tell me I'm not scheduled for service. After three transfers, three more holds while they talk to routing they basically tell me no way anyone is coming out today. Best they can do (because I've already missed three days from work and can't be here on Aug 29) is Sept. 6. I'm infuriated by the lack of regard for their customers particularly after the fact that they have been here two times already and failed to resolve this issue.

We purchased the Kenmore 417 series about 5 1/2 years ago. It has started making tremendous noise during the spin cycle. I bought new bedding for my daughter and washed it only to have it all come out at the end of the cycle stained and smeared with brown goo. I have washed them several times with various stain removal products but they are truly ruined. Other clothing has been stained as well and is unwearable even after several washing (so much for saving water).

I have gone on line and found many with the same trouble. It seems that it is a common problem in which a seal fails allowing wash water in and grease out. I have called Sears service and have gone into the store. Everyone at Sears whom I spoke to denies knowing of any sort of trouble. One salesman told me that the average life of a washing machine is 10 years so some people get more, some less! The cost of repairs, sending a tech to evaluate the problem and then scheduling the service with 2 technicians--too heavy for one is surely close to the cost of a new machine.

Has anyone had any luck getting these machines replaced or even getting Sears to acknowledge and stand behind their product? The bedding that was ruined included sheet set, duvet cover and shams. The cost of this set alone was around $300.00. I cannot put a price on the other towels and clothing--especially anything light colored that has to be thrown in the trash. I will never, ever recommend Sears or Kenmore products to anyone.

In the last month the washer started beeping for no reason.I researched the problem online and found that many others were facing the same issue. I called Sears who referred me to the Kenmore people who sent me back to Sears. Finally after calling the recall line I was told they were doing upgrades to my particular model and they would send someone out to fix it free of charge.

After waiting a week for service I was told that the part that needed to be replaced was the interface board, which was not the part covered by the recall. I was given an estimate of $364 dollars and charged $70 for the service visit. I refused to pay the bill and called the recall line back to confirm that I was not to be charged. I was put on hold for 34 minutes to be told that I was going to be charged. I was then told to write an email if I was still dissatisfied. I got an email back telling me to call a number and also asigned a case number. I called and spoke to a representative that listened to my case, although I had just explained everything in an email, and put me on hold. Before I knew it he had transfered me back to the recall line.

I explained everything again to the representative on the recall line and after being placed on hold again was told a manager would have to get in touch with me. No one has called me back. I ordered the part online so I could do it myself and was told it would arrive 2 days ago, just checked and of course it is backordered until September 1st.

I have been without a washing machine for almost a month which has been a huge inconvenience and could possibly have to pay a bill for the service technician that came to evaluate a problem that they said would be payed for.

I purchased a Kenmore front loading stackable washer approx 6 years ago. Last week in started making an unbearable loud noise during the spin cycle. I could not get a Sears repair person to come for an entire week so I called an independent company. They diagnosed it as having faulty bearings and spider arms (the part that holds the drum together. I also found out that the drum is made of stainless steel and the arms are made of aluminum. Steel and aluminum are incompatible and eventually break down over time depending on use. The repair cost is around $600 which makes it not worth it - with or without a warranty.

I have since discovered hundreds of documented cases with the identical problem. Sears is refusing to take any responsibility and seem to be fine selling defective merchandise. ( I believe that legal recourse is warranted for a situation like this and I am prepared to hire an attorney. At this point Sears has been behaving like a corrupt 3rd world company rather than a long-standing US corporation).

I purchased a Kenmore HE front load washer and pedestal stand in Sept 05. The items cost over $1000. The washer was installed by sears and it has been a nightmare experience. First I called to complain that the machine was developing rust spot and rattling to much on spin cycles. A service man was sent and said that the rattle was because the washer was not INSTALLED PROPERLY on the base (pedestal)and he adjusted it, the rust he said is because I use too much bleach? I said that that was not true since the machine has a dispenser that you fill and it dispenses it once the machine starts!

Any way he replaced a holding ring (that is a very thin wire ring around the rubber seal ring in the inside of the the machine which was rusted as well. This is the rubber seal between the door and the drum. I told him that I believed the rust was due to the improper installation that caused the dispensing of the the bleach and fabric softener to not do it properly. Anyway the machine gets service and works other than the rust!

Now on Saturday July 19th the machine is not working- the rubber ring on the inside of the machine is twisted and will not sit properly and therefor you can not close the door to the machine properly! It sticks and the machine computer panel will light up but not go on- I assume that is because its computer sensor is saying the door is not right but I won't know for sure until I get Sears to come in a look at it. So we attempt to call and schedule a repair. We finally confirm a date of Saturday July 26 for a repair date via phone and I not knowing that my husband has secured a date, had also received a date-Saturday Aug 9th-via online booking.

On Friday July 25th at 8PM we get a call that they are not coming tomorrow. After a couple of hours of phone calls and aggravation we are told by the phone attendant that we will get service as originally scheduled- July 26 between 8am and 12 noon, and that we are also sch. for Saturday Aug 2 as well. At 12:30 we called to ask what was happening and told that no one is coming - reason they don't have the part! Now I don't know what part they can be speaking of since the machine was not looked at by the service man to determine what is wrong!

Again after several phone calls and department I am told that I have an appointment for August 9th! My original email appointment! In my opinion is a faulty product and Sears simply give lip service and doctor their records each time you call! You are told one thing and they do as they please. This is not the only problem I have had with major appliances I have recently purchased from them but it is the most current and urgent one at this time.I have been a loyal customer of Sear Kenmore products but no longer!

I have had to go to a laundry mat to do my laundry which is costing me over $70 a week to do it, not to mention the inconvenience and expense of getting to and from the laundry mat plus my time! I work full time and have a family so I now have to fit this into my weekly errands. Plus this was an expensive item that should last at least 6 years yet I have an non working item that I have to have pay AGAIN to repair , that I have yet to see what the cost of that is going to be!

Despite many attempts such as unplugging the unit, rebalancing clothes, trying an additional spin cycle, it still does not work properly.

After reading a significant number of similar complaints about this machine and finding that at least one (if not several other) class action lawsuit had been filed that included only washers purchased before October 15, 2004, I am concerned that these problems are still unresolved. So because I purchased my washing maching 3 months after the class action lawsuit time period coverage, and am experiencing the exact same problems that others who were included in the class action lawsuit experienced, I have no recourse? A washing machine of this caliber should last 10-15 years, not 3.

I called the repair center on Friday, 20 June 2008 to set up an appointment. They said a repairman would be out on Wednesday, 25 June 2008, between 12:00pm and 3:00pm. When the repairman did not show by 3:00pm on that Wednesday, I called the repair center and they told me that they had no record of me ever calling. I rescheduled for Monday, 30 June 2008, and the repairman was supposed to show between 8:00am and 12:00pm. Again, no show.

He said he would have to call me back. He never did. On Monday, after the repairman failed to show once again, I called the repair center and was told that their repairman was running behind schedule, and that they would have him call me to let me know when he would be here. That was at 12:15pm. By 2:00pm, I still had not heard from the rapairman.

I had started calling the local store at 11:30 on Monday, 30 June 2008, and this time, after being put through the same routine of being transferred to the appliance dept. and no-one answering the phone, gwetting hung up on again and again for about 30 minutes, (about 15 calls all together), I finally was able to talk to manager, who was the cashiers manager. She said she would talk to someone and call me back. That was around 1:00pm. Again, by 2:00pm I still had not heard and am still waiting for anyone from Sears to call.

We have had to make several trips to a local laundry mat to wash clothes, which costs us between 10 to 15 dollars each trip (we have made 5 trips already.) not to mention the gas it takes. I have taken two days off from work already and still cannot use the washer that I paid Sears over one thousand dollars for four months ago. Does Sears not stand behind its products anymore? Sometimes in the middle of the night we hear a beeping noise and both of the appliances will just beep all night until you unplug them. They will not shut off with out you unplugging them.

I bought a Kenmore washer/dryer back in late December of '07. A month and a half ago it started to trip my circuit breaker. A technician came out 3 Saturdays ago (with the hours at work that I keep, I have to schedule for Saturdays). Stood there, looked at it, turned it on for a few minutes and said, I don't see anything wrong with it. Seems fine to me. After he left I tried doing another load...to no avail it tripped again. I called back, they scheduled for the following Saturday. Which was this past Saturday (5/31/08).

This tech was not at all happy. It couldn't have made it more obvious. Talking in a mono tone, maybe one smile.I told him many times it only tripps when there is a load of laundry in there. He proceeds to turn the dryer on EMPTY. Test this, test that. Stand there thinking. Then he tells me he is going to replace the motor (it's under warranty thank God) and takes a very short time to put it in. He said if I have any more problems to call. So he left and I put the wet clothes into the dryer and it finished that cycle. When I put in another load it tripped...twice. A third load it tripped twice.

I call back that same day (these so called customer service reps need to adjust their attitude) This customer service woman told me she had put in a message to the tech to call me. He never did. So while at work this morning I called AGAIN and with good obvious reason I had a huge attitude with them. Told her the problem, got the I'm sorry and proceeded to schedule ANOTHER tech to come out to ruin yet another Saturday. I said, Why can't I just haul it in my truck back to the store and get a new one? She said, The tech needs to decide if you need a new one and you would also need 4 MORE COMPLAINT CALLS FOR THIS SAME PROBLEM.

I've called 4 times as it is. Then I proceeded to tell her, Oh, so this is why Sears has such terrible customer service! Another sorry from someone who clearly wasn't. I have had it and will NEVER give Sears my services again. Not for appliances, clothing...nothing.

In July of '07 our 5 year old Kenmore front load washing machine (I believe model 40412)started staining our clothes with horrible "oil" stains. Prior to this happening we were having other issues with the machine that I believe are interrelated. The machine stops mid cycle and sucks in, and then pours out water, over and over and over again. It will not rectify itself on it's own. If I do not catch it, it will continue to do this for hours until I turn it off, reset the dial and start it over again...and even then sometime I will come back to the machine only to find it hasn't advanced at all.

While this is occuring the clothes are either being stained or tye-dyed! If the clothes are dark they get an ugly tye dye effect and if the clothes are light they either get splotches of oil or streaks of oil. I contacted Sears and told them my problem was two-fold and that I thought the they went hand in hand. They told me there was nothing wrong with the machine, and that they couldn't get it to replicate my problem with the machine not advancing. They also told me that the other issue was my problem, that I don't keep my machine "clean", which is not true as I run a clear load once a week with just bleach & water.

I tried to explain that even if I were throwing dirt clods in with the clothes they should not come out with grease stains on them that NOTHING will get out! I have poured straight bleach on the items to show them that it is not "grime buildup" as they claim! Since July of '07 they have been out to my house to "repair" this machine at least 6 times. I am so frustrated that I have yet another load of ruined clothes I could just scream. I paid for a machine, paid for an "extended warrenty" (which isn't worth the paper it is written on because the repair person doesn't have to "repair" anything...he just has to say there is nothing wrong...even though he's seen the clothes... and just walk away!)

I've had to pay for all the replacement clothes that have been ruined and have missed more time off of work than I care to remember...not to mention all the time I have spent on the phone with Sears "customer service" (which should be renamed "customer dis-service!) and what do I have? A machine where clothes come out dirtier than when they went in and an incredible amount of disdain for Sears! They may be a 100+ year old company but if they keep treating customers the way I have been treated they will be lucky to be around 10 years from now! This letter does not even begin to express the frustration I feel over this situation and Sears lack of response to rectify these problems. I will NEVER purchase another item, big or small from this company or any of it's subsidiaries!!!

I bought a set of Kenmore Elite HE4 washer & dryer on November 26, 2005, paid $2,322.63 for the set. I bought Kenmore because I had Kenmore washer & dryer that lasted me over 20 years. They were still working fine when Sears hauled them away. I wanted to be a good citizen and upgraded to more energy and water-efficient units. I started to get and F and H code on my washer panel, indicating water intake problem. I check the hose, the filter and the water pressure. Everything was fine. I canceled & restarted the cycle and it would run again. This probably started within the 2-year control board warranty period. But I thought, just like a computer, sometimes problems can resolve themselves by turning the computer off and on again.

Then the same problem happened more frequently, and now the same codes will come on and won't work anymore. A very surely serviceman came (after 2 cancellations),charged me $72 and told me that it will cost me $364.72 for a new computer board and $163.00 to install it. We are a retired couple who only wash maybe two loads of clothes every 3 weeks or so, we never overload and always used the HE soap. We actually take our heavy stuff to the laundromat.

We went to Sears to complain. We were told that the washer is 2 years old, as if it is an old piece of junk already! The manager presumably called the manufacturer and was told there had been no complaint about the washer and therefore there's nothing they can do for me (but tried to sell me an extended warranty). I went on this consumer affair website and found 15 complaints on Kenmore washers and 42 complaints on Sears_washers so far in 2008! They do not sell the HE4 anymore, but there's no recall either. This is so frustrating! What can consumers do to get recourse? Help!

After slightly over 2 years, the washer that I paid $1,399.99 plus tax for is no longer working even though it looks brand new. I am not willing to pay $527.72 to have it fixed, especially not knowing when and how the new control board may go out again. I am more than happy to have a simple machine without electronics but they don't sell that old fashion stuff anymore. We are retired people on fixed income. I thought that was the last wash I would have to buy!

My 7-month-old washer, model Kenmore HLT4012908, front-load, failed 3 days ago. Repairman diagnosed computer failure, with part back-ordered until 5/29, which means 17+ days without a washer. I requested a loaner or replacement machine, which they denied, stating You are past the 3-month warranty window. The part is back-ordered from overseas. We will try to get the part sooner at another vendor and will let you know by next Tuesday. That is all we can do.

During this process I spoke with 4 different Sears employees and all of them referred me to other departments, including the store manager. I finally told them it was their responsibility to resolve this issue amongst themselves and I was not calling anyone else there. I originally purchased the washer for $951.74, and it was delivered the next day; but they cannot repair it for almost 3 weeks? And they are unwilling to exchange it or even loan a machine?

BUYERS BEWARE of Sears Kenmore washers with their poor machine performance, inadequate parts replacement inventory, and even worse customer service. The employees all end their phone calls the same way with Can I help you with anything else? and Thank you for calling Sears. How absurd -- they can help no one, not even themselves. After 10 years of using Kenmore washer/dryer combination it was time to upgrade to the latest HE2 to save on water and electric bill. Based on a good experience, we decide to go again with Kenmore and paid around $1500. The washer is a junk, problems with the front seal, water liking, smells bad. A couple of month after the warranty expired, all lights came up. Called SEARS and they offer $300 for a service. Searching on the web I found a similar article and it was due to a kid's sock going to the drain pump. How could that happened? What design is that?

Now again a different F21 code. Searching on the web people were pointing to clogged connectors or pressure switch. Checked and everything was cleaned and finally decided to purchase the switch. Called SEARS and their delivery time was 15 days due to backorder. Ordered on line, cheaper and faster delivery. Replace it but same thing. Others are pointing to motor or motor control board. After a couple of years of not a heavy using of this machine, it looks like too many problems for a top of the line washer. In my opinion it is a too cheap design and construction. I was inspecting the electrical connection and they are a joke, how easy they could be unplugged do to movement. Found this site and decided to write my experience.

A lot of time searching on the web for solutions since SEARS response was a $300 deal. Purchase of a Pressure switch for $50. A lot of time checking all connections and trying to solve the problem. The Washer still broken.

Through multiple contacts with Customer Service, then a BBB complaint, I had to pay $170 for the fix and took 2 days off work. This is a known problem with the Kenmore Elite washers and still they won't fix it for free. Now my dryer won't start and I see on all the message boards that this is another known defect. I'll have to take another day off work (possibly two) and pay the $300 repair cost (per the websites with similar problems).

Like most of the other complainants, I saved up a lot of money to buy top of the line washer/dryer and they are much less reliable and much more costly than GE products. They have repeatedly told me to pay $129 a year to prevent the added costs of repairs and I'm frustrated by what I see as extortion. I did all the balancing requirements (more than a few times) which did no good at all. After about two years, it got so bad that I knew it was going to stop working; and then it stopped agitating as well. I had a repairman come out, and the cause was a loose screw on the motor bracket--and eventually the motor fell out and hit the floor.

The motor and gear were under a five year warranty, so I only paid for the part (a screw) which cost $175. That is no typo: that is what it cost to put the bracket and motor back in. I couldn't wash clothes for a month, but I managed by washing most things in the sink. Manufacturers don't have to take responsibility for their product anymore because they make you take on that responsibility with expensive, useless warranties and expensive repairs.

I called Sears and explained what had happened, and they said it had been over a year and my warranty had expired but convinced me to purchase a new one year warranty for $214. When the Sears repair man got here he took a quick look at the washer and said that I needed a new Interface Board (which he would have to order and would take another 5-7 days)--and that it would cost $148.38 for the part and $132.00 for labor. This cost would be covered by the new warranty that I had just purchased. I asked if this was a common problem because he seemed to know exactly what was wrong with the machine after about 1 minute. He said they have seen it a lot and that there was a defect in the first generation of interface boards that were installed in the Kenmore Oasis HE machines.

I of course then asked if Sears would be covering the cost for me seeing as it was a known defect in their machine. The guy said that Sears would not cover the cost because they had not recalled the machine. He said that it is known to Sears that there are defective first generation interface boards out there that are breaking and they are not recalling those machines simply because they don't want to have to pay for replacing the boards! They want the consumers to instead pay the extra $214 for the extended warranty on top of the $800 that we already paid for the machine--not to mention all of the money I have to spend at the laundromat washing laundry for a family of 5! I think that Sears should replace the defective interface boards (considering that they know about the defect) at no cost to the consumer, and compensate for the laundromat fees $100, plus).

So I refused, called customer service while he was still present, and he explained to them that the machine was defective and he had no idea how to fix it. the representative took all the info from my sales receipt and ordered another washer and kit to be delivered. When the delivery men came two days later, they had no kit so they couldn't hook up the washer and dryer. They wanted to leave the washer in the middle of the floor, and I refused because it is a brand new house and carpet. We called the customer service line; a rep told me I never purchased a kit so therefore they weren't responsible, even though I had the receipt to prove it. We were back and forth, and he hung up the phone on me, and the drivers just took off with the washer without saying a word. No one told me what to do, who to call, where is my washer; I just sat there with a defective washer.

I called the delivery center and was treated with total disrespect. A woman came on the phone, researched my order and found that the kit was not on the truck as promised. We have to endure clothes that smell unclean and moldy. We have to re-wash the clothes which cause excess water and electricity usage at an additional cost, as well as excess wear and tear on our clothes at double the rate since we have to wash/dry twice or more. Some clothes are simply ruined by not getting clean. I want my money back.

I have a Kenmore front loader washer that is 3 years old. The bearings are out, and the repairs are $550! This is the second time this machine has been serviced; the first was for the smelly mildew created in the machine. I will never buy Kenmore again. This same day my Kenmore side-by-side refrigerator needed service because the ice-maker broke; this appliance is 22 months old. I have ice, $290 later. What a waste of money. I am only buying Whirlpool from now on.

I bought a Kenmore stacking washer/dryer in December of 2006. It's suppose to be the quiet pack plus, heavy duty model. It makes so much noise and shakes the room when it goes on the spin cycle that you think it's going to fall apart. I had a Sears repairman come out to look at it. He said everything was working the way it is suppose to. He said it made noise because it was on a wooden floor as opposed to cement, and also said to buy rubber foot pads for it. It gets off balance every time I use it, shakes the house and makes so much noise that I can't hear TV.

I didn't buy the extended warranty, but I don't think there is anything they can do to fix it. I don't want to put anymore money into a repair call or fixing it. I think it is a manufacture defect. I hate the machine. I want to leave home when I wash clothes. I will never buy another Sears washer again. I feel like setting this one out on the curb with a sign that says junk.

We purchased a Kenmore Elite HE3T washer and dryer two years ago and have had nothing but problems!!!

We have been told all of the following, depending on who you talk to... #1 Too much detergent #2 Not enough detergent #3 Wrong detergent (we only use what Sears recommends) #4 Too much fabric softener (we never used any) #5 Wrong cleaning cycle #6 Should use the sanitary cycle #7 Waters too hard #8 Waters too soft. The list and excuses goes on and on.

The top load, low capacity washer we had for 15 years in this same house, with the same water and soap etc...did a GREAT job of keeping our clothes clean and free of mold smell.

We purchased a Kenmore series 80 washing machine on 11/30/05. On 3/16/07, we paid $143.78 to have the motor capacitor replaced. On 4/23/07 our smoke alarm went off and there was an overwhelming smell of something burning. It smelled like an electrical fire. So, on 4/25/07, we paid $266.25 to have the motor replaced.

We have now paid more in repairs than we did to initiallly buy it. The washer is not even 18 months old and I am only washing for 2 empty nesters. Sears should be held accountable for putting out such an inferior product.

Besides the $410.03 that we have paid in repairs, it was by the grace of God that we were near the washer and could pull the electrical plug before our house burned down. We had to open all of our windows to air out the smoky odor. It just so happened to be the first day that I was babysitting our 4 week old grandson. It could have been tragic.

Bought Kenmore 700 Series in October. Had to be replaced 3 times and problem was always the timer. Then for the 4th replacement I decided to buy a Kenmore Elite Total Care Flex and paid more money thinking this will probably the best one. Again it had a factory defect, the motor was broken and it was spinning so loud that it always had a loud explosion as it agitated. My clothes would always be tangled as it spinned.

I purchased the Kenmore front loader washing machine model # 417.42042100 about 4.5 years ago. Recently the machine began making a loud noise when spinning. A service technician told us it was the bearings wearing out than it would soon stop working. It did about 2 weeks later. He said this is a very common fault with this machine. The repair cost is over $600!

I purchased a Kenmore Elite washer in 2006 and I have had Sears Repair services out to my home 2 times.

I have called them again because the screen is flashing "dl" because the door lock is once again not locking. I am very angry that I have paid so much for a washer that I can not use at times. It has now gotten to where it is not washing at all.

I have asked for a new washer but they reported my 90 days was up and that this was not possible. I just feel that for the money I paid for this washer that it should have been in working order.

I purchased a Kenmore Elite Calypso washing machine. I employed a repair shop to fix the machine when it quit working. I paid $320 to have a new pump and motor installed. The machine still did not work. The machine gave several codes LD, SL, OB etc. I again asked someone to come fix the machine and was told the u-joints were shot and the circuit board was not working. The cost would be prohibitive to fix. I went to Sears and they said it's not our fault. Sears then offered to sell me another washer. I paid about $1800 for the washer and dryer and got about 4 years use.

THe Sears Kenmore Frontload Washer, product number 417.42042100, purchased in Dec. 2001 began making louder and louder noise during the spin cycle, staining light colored clothes with black streaks, and finally just stopped working.

We were told that a Sears repair service contractor would be out to look at the washer and made an appointment for a specific date and time. The appointment was missed for 3 consecutivbe days, without so much as a call. I would call the following day and given some rediculous excuse for the service department not calling to reschedule or appologize. After finally coming on the 4th day, we were told that the washer needed over $1000.00 to be repaired (It cost just over $500 brand new!).

Now, after reading the list of complaints associated with Sears appliances, and basically being told by Sears that I should have purchased the extended warranty program, not only will I never buy an appliance from Sears, I will never buy another item from any store associated with the Sears Holding Group, period.

I purchased a Kenmore HE4t in Blue. 10 months after buying this machine it starts ripping into my families clothing. Sears replaced it with another machine of the exact same model. Three and a half months later the machine begins to have problems with the barrel part ripping and the machine flooding my floor. A month after they fixed it the machine started to rip my clothing again. They will replace machine Up to the value that I paid but if I chose a less expensive machine they won't credit my card back and will pocket the money.

It has damaged hundreds of dollars worth of clothing. A cheerleading uniform that isn't even ours and soem expensive clothing. They want me to eat the cost of the pedastals that were bought for the washing machine on top of paying interest on a more expensive machine.

Worked great for a while and then the washer began giving me problems. Several parts have been replaced and the control board. The biggest problem I have is the washer leaving gray marks on my clothes. Sears repair service has been out 3 or 4 times this year. The last time they were out, I was told that I would be given an allowance toward the purchase of a new machine. I am very upset that I purchased an expensive washer which didn't last 5 years and I am getting very little toward the purchase of another.

I have had the worst smell of mold in my house and on my and my family's clothes since around March 06'. It all originates in the washing machine. It is a front loading Kenmore Elite. I have had 6 service calls into Sears under my appliance protection plan. I have had conversations with multilple people representing Sears at various locations, ie repair scheduling, cust. service, etc etc. And still no remedy. For months now I have been told to cut back on the amount of detergent we were using,(it is approved he detergent),we were told to run our washer numerous times with only hot water and bleach. It seems now we are busier washing the washer than clothes.

Technicians have come and changed the boot which was covered in mold, a pump that had no visible mold, and on other visits told me there was nothing they can do, and that i should just keep running the empty hot water and bleach cycle. My last contact was today (August 3 2006) with a gentleman named Donte at Sears National Customer Service. To paraphrase him there is no solution other than for me and my family to deal with it.

So far not much other than frustration. We can't afford to buy new towels and clothes every week. we have thrown away numerous baby clothes, towels, and bedding in an effort to protect my two year old. Some of my and my wife's clothes have been damamged. We have tried numerous methods of diluting bleach and running it with our color clothes so that when we get dressed and go to work, or out to eat, or anything that our clothes don't smell of mold. And as far as my house, who knows. On some days the entire downstairs smells of mold. And everyday the washer, laundry room, and any clothes that have been washed reek of mold.
