Kenmore Ovens Reviews

My Kenmore oven stopped working in October of 2007. After numerous service calls and almost $2,000 in parts, my oven is working, but the burners on top of my gas stove have to be lit with a match. There are still parts on order, since they never send all the parts. I'm still waiting for more parts which are supposed to arrive on Feb 28, which means it won't be fixed until March of 2008 (maybe). They refuse to give me a new oven. I've been on the phone more times than I can count, and I've even been disconnected 3 times. They said they would extend my contract by 3 months, but didn't. They won't replace it until there are 4 repairs, so they have added all the repairs onto one service call (from Oct 2007-March 2008). I will never buy another Kenmore appliance, which is built by Whirlpool and Maytag.

I unplugged my glass top Kenmore stove (2 years old), plugged it back in, and the electronic control went out. We paid over $400 for the stove, and now I need to pay another $137 to get a new electronics control board. I am not happy with Kenmore appliances and will not buy or recommend Kenmore to anyone. We really thought we were buying a quality product, but that is not the case. I will warn others of the quality of Kenmore stoves.

On October 2, 2007 at 3am in the morning, i was woken up by a loud exploding glass sound, when i went downstairs to investigate the noise I found the front of my 3 year old Kenmore range had exploded. The oven had not been used since 7pm the previous night and only for a short period of time. The glass was all over my kitchen floor extending about 6 ft or more from the front of the oven.

I was baking, things started burning. I turned the oven off. it stayed on. the only way to get it off was at the breaker.

Control panel stopped working, there for my oven no longer worked. The stove is 6yr's old. Today {08/06/06} the oven front or glass face fell off as I opend it. The top of the stove is very hard to clean or I must say impossible to entirely clean. The consequence is that I have to purchase a new stove sooner than normal. Thank GOD I had my bare feet far back from underneath the oven!

I paid $1200.00 for an oven range (Kenmore) that had a large oven and a second smaller oven on the bottom. Less than a year after it was delivered, I turned the small oven on to bake something and it never heated up. I called the service number for Sears and they sent out a repairman. He said it was a blown fuse. He then proceeded to tell me that the second oven feature was really bogus. He said that the 2nd oven, even though it had a temperature selection of up to 450 degrees, was not designed any differently than a warming drawer was and that it would continue to blow the fuse if I tried to use it for anything requiring a high temperature. I couldn't believe he was telling me this. I feel like I was sold some really pricey snake oil. Sears should be ashamed of themselves for this blatant and purposeful deception.

Purchased a Kenmore electric range, made by Whirlpool Model 665.95014102 in July of 2003.In August of 2005 I put a roast in the oven and went out for a walk while my husband was sleeping. When I returned less than an hour later, the house was full of smoke and the oven and broiler were on full blast. It wouldn't turn off. When I opened the door, the heat was so hot that it burned the inside of my nose. I had to turn off the circuit braker. The pan and roast were burnt to a crisp. If the circuit braker was turned back on, the stove immediately turned itself on to the burning mode. Sears would offer nothing.

I bought a Kenmore electric range a few years back. Christmas Eve, our dog woke us up - thank god - the house was full of smoke.
