Purchased an electric downdraft range to replace a Jenn-Air downdraft electric cooktop….I’m so disappointed. The oven takes 35 minutes to reach a temperature of 350 degrees-which is unacceptable. After several calls to Jenn-Air, we still have the same problem. Another major problem is that the oven heats up the adjacent cabinets to 150 degrees. Jenn-Air replaced the “rope” gasket but we still have heat leaking out. Jenn-Air offers no resolution to either of our problems. I would and will not purchase another Jenn-Air product.

We bought an all JennAir appliance for our complete kitchen remodel. The dishwasher needed the control panel replaced 4 times and the sump filter twice. The double wall convection had to replaced and the self-cleaning oven doesn't work very well. The French door refrigerator has had its control temperature/freezing panel replaced twice. The icemaker in the door works terribly and we were constantly trying to unclog it with a hair dryer. Purchased this junk in fall of 2019. Have already replaced the dishwasher and refrigerator. Will be joining the class action lawsuit against JennAir and Whirlpool.

We brought a Jennair 48"gas convection range. I am telling you, do not do it! Our stovetop ceramic top was chipped when we got it and they would not stand behind it. They would gladly send out a service team member to only charge us for that service. The wifi on the range never would connect after many hours and several calls we got it to work. Customer service is lousy and so is the product.

So I bought a high end very expensive dark and moody refrigerator from JennAir. As one could imagine that a dark interior depends on a lighting system that is reliable. I was told that the lights should last the life of the product. Even the JennAir manual printed exactly this statement regarding the durability of the lighting system. From the very beginning the lights began burning out and it has to be changed by a professional or damage to the interior would be the result if done by someone who is not trained properly. After spending over 400 hundred dollars we finally contacted JennAir. Jenn Air agreed to send a tech and change out the mechanism that controls the lights for free. We were really impressed but now two years later the light situation is happening all over again. JennAir has the attitude that this can happen and we just need to call a tech.
I can tell you that we bought three other appliances all from Thermador at the same time we bought the JennAir refrigerator. There have been zero problems with the Thermador high end oven, microwave and dishwasher. I am very disappointed with JennAir because I am sure this is a defective product and they are not owning up to it. So we are stuck with a dark and scary refrigerator instead of a dark and sexy refrigerator. I will never buy JennAir again. Their products are not reliable. On the other hand Thermador is amazing!!

Two years ago I was excited to buy my new Jenn-Air appliances. Sleek, modern and quality. Boy was I incorrect. We have had problems from the beginning. The refrigerator was either installed wrong by the dealer or the refrigerators do not have proper ways of mounting. My refrigerator tilts out of its hole on top and we have not found someone to fix it. We have a gorgeous kitchen and the refrigerator tilts out like a piece of garbage.
Next, the oven and microwave also have a serious problem and both do not work. We have tried for a week to get service out there and finally, he was going to come out and told me that I was out of warranty. I purchased a 5 year and now I have to produce documents so they are fighting fixing the garbage appliances. The stove overloads my condo circuits when the second burner turns on and nothing cooks. It's a joke. They say it's the power to my condo. I say there was an over and stove there before where I made meals. Then I look up if Jenn-Air is having issues and their reviews are 1 star on hundreds of buyers! What is going on? Why is there not a class action lawsuit? An 8K refrigerator and it does not mount right and they cannot fix it? Whirlpool is a garbage company.

Have a Jenn Air Combo Microwave/Wall oven, currently waiting on parts for the oven. Sounds like the touchscreen has broken, and I hear that self-cleaning can be problematic. At what point do these large appliance companies realize that heat and computers don't mix? I don't need to oven to connect to the internet FFS. I just need it to work! Been without an oven for a month now. Joke.

Bought an icemaker 3 years ago and had trouble right from the start. Called customer service and they told me to change the filter and descale the unit as the problem is due to hard water. The problem would resurface every three months or so and I would call and be given the same response and I was assured it was just hard water. After over 2 years of calling they decided to send a technician to look at it. That was when I was told the liner was cracked when the unit was made and it is unrepairable. Also by the time they figured it out it was now out of warranty. They did offer to sell me another icemaker though!

This is my first ever product review but I guess it takes a lot to dissatisfy me as a consumer. We purchased two Jennair appliances in 2021. First the 36 inch kitchen induction stove top blew a major electronic component within the first 18 months. The stove basically had a complete melt down and it took 8 weeks to get parts. This past week 12/1/23 the Jennair microwave /wall oven combo has an error code that indicates a control board failure and once again parts are on back order. No baking for Christmas. Keep in mind these two appliances are less than 3 years old! I recommend you NEVER EVER buy Jennair if you don't want problem after problem with a total disaster to get them repaired. If you do happen to buy them get the very expensive extended warranties because they will fail???

We moved in to a house with 3 month old Jenn Air Ovens and Jenn Air refrigerators and have had nothing but problems. The digital display on the ovens has broken twice and the cost to replace is almost as much as the oven itself. On the refrigerator, the ice machine broke after three years. Not what we would expect from such a high end brand.

We bought a set of four kitchen appliance from Bray and Scarff at Washington DC area 6 years. They include a build-in fridge, a build-in oven, a dish washer, and a build-in microwave, altogether for over $15,000 in 2017. They were beautiful to look at, and despite many bad reviews at the time on product quality, we went ahead with the purchase. Now, 6 years later, well, they did live up to their reputation of possibly the worst product quality and reliability.
2. The microwave was dead in 4 years, and it was replaced with a Whirlpool, again not under warranty.
3. Now, 6 years after the purchase, the dishwasher is dead.
4. Thus, the build-in fridge/freezer is the only one left without experienced a major problem. How much longer would it last?
If you want appliances that look good and prepared for all kinds of problems and lots of $ for after purchase service, Jenn Air is the brand for you!

We use all appliances as usual. Our dishwasher needs to have the motor replaced and the oven blew up when we put them in a cleaning mode and the bottom one did not heat up. Technician looked at it and it took more than 2 months to find a replacement and they only replaced the inner part of the glass door that blew up. They replaced the control panel. Everything else is considered cosmetics! Laughable. Jenn-Air is not a good brand. I am over 60 and have used ovens all my life and never heard of fa brand new oven blowing up.

Microwave - stuck F2 key; 7 months to get part and replace it. Fridge/freezer - "long lasting" LED lights failing one at a time, which cost $35/ea, and which you have to experiment with to figure out which one is the bad one. Dishwasher - top rack fell into bottom rack the other day; does not have normally-mounted sliding rails, but pieces that are spot-welded together (?!) and came apart, with rust underneath the spots, AND the screws mounting those pieces must be removed/replaced from the OUTside of the unit, so you have to pull it out of the wall. This suite of appliances is only 5 yrs old, and we didn't even use the dishwasher until 2 yrs ago. Just waiting for the stovetop/exhaust to find their own ways to fail.

Purchased a $5k double wall oven 5 years ago. It stopped working- the technician says it needs a $1800 part- which is indefinitely on backorder. Jenn-Air confirmed backorder, except said the part is $2500. It's been over a month since we ordered, with no hint of when we may be able to receive the part to repair our oven. Second complaint to Jenn-Air and based on our error codes, they recommended we try buying a sub-part that was available. Well, it's not the right part- and they won't pay for return shipping. So we own a brick of an oven- waiting on a part with no anticipated timeframe provided. For a $5k oven- this is not how I would have expected to be treated. If this is how they treat their existing customers, then I cannot recommend.

I've had Jenn-Air stoves for most of my adult life. I've purchased 3 gas cook top with electric ovens ..the last purchase was a shock....It can't be real stainless steel...it stains, it scratches very easily, it never looks like it did at purchase. The "wrought iron" on the stovetop is NOT wrought iron (more like ROT iron). It's just cheap metal that's been painted I guess. Their solution...just send out more of the same crummy parts for replacement. It's a shame that this company is producing such an inferior product compared to what they use to produce. I've had this stove for about 3 years now, you can cook with it, but clean up is a trial. I don't expect any action from this review, I just want to share so others don't have to experience same.

We have had these appliances in our new house for less than 4 years now. Our first issues were with the stove top with burner issues (may be installer error?), then our oven had powder coating coming off part. It took 6 months to get a new part with no use of the oven. Now our microwave start button quit working. Fortunately we bought a Bosch dishwasher and it is great. Whirlpool bought the Jenn-Air line and brand many years ago and it is not the quality of the past....

Our builder installed all Jenn Air (a Whirlpool subset) in our kitchen 7 years ago- 2 ovens, a microwave, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, stovetop, and wine fridge. They look lovely. However, both (yes, both) ovens have have the F2E1 shorted key issue three times. While the products were under warranty, it cost us just about $100 dollars for repair (that’s still $500 over time). Now that the product is not under warranty, it cost $1200 for the part, not even including the labor. It is not a double oven. It is two separate appliances, installed in completely separate parts of the kitchen. So this clearly a product flaw.
Our dishwasher has always functioned ok but not exceptionally. We’ve had to replace two parts and both times it was items that should have lasted longer than the 2 or 5 years that they did. I noticed the other day that the logo is peeling off the appliance. Pathetic. The wine fridge door is starting to sag on its hinges. The customer service is horrible. Incredibly long wait times, very sweet and completely clueless representatives who have no power to fix problems and are great at empathizing and stalling you but never escalate and never fix anything.
Here’s the long and short: everything about this company looks good from the outside: slick website, sweet customer service representatives, pretty appliances. Once you go even a centimeter below the surface, there is nothing there but a poorly functioning, inefficient system that is going to cost you a pile of money. Make a better choice and save yourself some time, frustration and cash.

We had a Jennair Combination JMVV3430DS01 oven/microwave installed during a renovation 6 years ago, in a home we use in the winter. Christmas Eve 2022 with a big party coming to dinner I wake up to an error screen -“stuck/ shorted key. This product is experiencing a problem and can no longer be used.” I called Jennair on Tuesday as they were closed for the weekend and Monday for the holiday and I spoke to a representative and was told that they needed 21 business days to try to source the part and then 10 business days of escalation and then if still no part they would offer a prorata discount on a new unit - but then said that they had a huge waiting list on those. But, the rep did say the replacement part would be free, normally $1,250.
They did set up a ticket with their local repair company who said he knew what it was and wouldn’t come out till they had the part. Still waiting. Well there are no replacement parts, which they blame on Covid and they don’t even have replacement models - no Jennair or KitchenAid combo units anywhere. I am in the escalation period now and am looking at other manufacturers - no one else has these issues where no parts or replacement appliances. Whirlpool needs to care for their Jennair and KitchenAid customers. I think there should be some federal laws protecting consumers. We buy high end appliances and expect more than lies and delays.

My Jenn-Air oven was 7 years old when the lower oven blower needed to be replaced which caused the oven to not work at all. It took several weeks before a repair person was able to come out and replace that part. That did not fix the problem, yes the oven then worked, but made a bizarre sound when on a cleaning cycle. The same part needed replacement because it was faulty, as well as needing a new control; waited a month before it was repaired. Almost one and a half years later the lower oven blower has failed again. Out of warranty this time. Repair was done, however, oven would make a bad noise the moment it was turned on and again until it cooled.
Had a repair person come out again and at this time said the problem was the upper blower. Obviously, there is something wrong with the manufacturing of these parts. At this point I have spent over $1400 in repairs. I should also mention that I don't use the oven that often since I rely on a small oven many times. Jenn-Air was acquired by Whirlpool in 2006 and now represents the super-premium segment of Whirlpool Corporation brand portfolio. Maybe it's time they supervise and check the factories manufacturing their replacement parts.

Beware of incorrect installation specs in your manual when building your kitchen around these appliances. Purchased Jenn-Air EVERYTHING because that's what Best Buy sold me on... Our cabinet makers used their manual guide posted on their website to build the built-in cabinet... Jenn-Air is SO negligent that their manual has the wrong information posted so the fridge will stick out rather than being flush. Customer service emailed me a document with the correct information and told me the fridge will still work. Of course, it will work, but I didn't spend 12k on a fridge and 50k on a custom kitchen to have a built-in fridge that sticks out. The manual has the wrong information - if this is just the beginning of my experience with Jenn-Air, I'm ready to send EVERYTHING back to Best Buy. The customer service rep is escalating my issue - will see what happens. If you have purchased a built-in, do not go by what the manual says, the depth MUST be 25".

My previous two downdraft and cooktops made by Jenn Air were fantastic appliances. Both lasted 20 years with very heavy use. The new one I just purchased this year? Trash. Who designed this? The oven isn’t self cleaning, it’s moisture assisted scrubbing. The cooktop is far more difficult to clean, and scratches easier. The finish - stainless steel type - never really looks clean. The cooktop controls are touchy. It either barely heats or goes to high heat. The controls are touchy, and barely a brush of a finger, and the mode or temp or time or something is altered. I hate this stove. Horribly disappointed, but can’t afford to buy another. Fortunate I do like cold salads and sandwiches.

I had all Jenn-air appliances installed into a new house we moved into in Nov 2016. By April 2019 the dishwasher developed a fault on the inlet valve and caused a water leak out of the dishwasher requiring complete replacement of our wooden flooring. Replaced it with a Bosch. Later in 2019 the microwave failed and could not be repaired, replaced it with a Whirlpool model identical to the Jenn-air but much cheaper! The double oven had from time to time displayed error messages, cleared by turning off the power to the oven, and often the top or bottom lights would come on for no reason.
Now the control panel is reporting error F2E1, similar to other reviews here. Jenn-air hides behind its warranty, which has by now expired. The cost to replace the control panel is over $1300. In my opinion this company has a great marketing department and apparently a poor hardware and software development group. One star is way too many for this company. I can only say after multiple experiences with Jenn-air they do not regard reliability as important. I have no legal experience, but the numerous control panel issues reported on their ovens looks to be a systematic design and/or manufacturing issue.

In my development, the top model homes have Jenn-Air kitchen appliances costing several thousands of dollars. Most home owners here have constant problem with these supposedly high end appliances. In my home, the control panel on the Electric Wall oven has been replaced twice. I understand this model oven has a design flaw, which Jenn-Air is aware of. We use the oven less than once per month. Our dishwasher was replaced. The replacement worked for about one year. It stopped working since around 12/15/21. Jenn-Air ordered the part. After about 4 weeks, they came back to say they can find the part and that they will give me an upgrade dishwasher.
When the upgrade arrived, it had conspicuous dents in the front so they took it back. As of today, Jenn-Air does not know the ETA of the second replacement. It has been more than two months. I had GE appliances in my previous home and never once needed service repairs. Reading from the Facebook posts in my development, some homeowners have worse experience with their Jenn-Air appliances. The problem is the screws that fasten the burners to the stovetop are completely rusted and have to be drilled out and that`s a $500 plus job. So why why why were stainless steel screws not installed at the factory?!! Every time you have a little spill or a boil-over water is getting down there and soaking those screws. It's unfortunate because the stove has been good for 9 years (we did have another ignition problem repaired under warranty a few years ago) and looks great. Thankfully I had an extended warranty contract but being without a working oven each time is a terrible inconvenience. The oven has a AquaLift self cleaning feature which is useless as it did not perform as marketed and the JennAir technician advised against using it as it was likely what was causing the control panel failure. Updated on 8/17/2023: Well we thought by buying a Jenn Air product it is more of the top of the line. Not. So we purchased all Jenn air products during our kitchen remodel. We have had issues with dishwasher and the fridge. They are now 8 years old and we have been having issues with the fridge not keeping cool. Replace compressor, evaporator and seal system. To no avail. Service people here 8 times and still not keeping cold. We were told by a technician that the life span for appliances is now 7 years. So If you plan on buying new appliances I would go with the not so expensive line not going to last anyway. Called manufacturer and really they were no help.
Original review: Purchased these products with the understanding that there were more pricey, hence a better quality product. Nothing further from the truth. Fridge keeps leaking water from filter area. Had it checked, replaced filter. Tested and no issue found, However now it still leaking from a different area, Had serviced, inspected. Was fine for two weeks now again n still leaking. Dishwasher, will not run through any cycles. Had motherboard replaced twice, had rail latch for door replaced. Now same issues now we are waiting on another motherboard. Due to covid it has been 4 weeks now still waiting on part. Purchased all Jenn Air products for our kitchen remodel in Spring of 2016. Have had issues since 2019 at 3 years old. There are now 4 years old. We have not extended warranties at this point. I have expressed my disappointment to dealer to no avail.

Even though we purchased an extended warranty, the retailer tells us to keep repairing or deal directly with Whirlpool, the manufacturer. We have a professional Jenn-Air 48" range, model PRG4810LP. I estimate the range is 11 years old since house was built in 2008. We moved in 2012. Ever since then the range has given us problems. The first problems were with the stove burners. Some had melted slightly and didnt operate properly. It was a nightmare to work on. The repair company spent at least 15 labor hours on it. The technician says this is the worst range to perform repair work on. We continued to have sporadic problems for the following years with the burners. Now for the reason I will never buy Jenn-air and I caution everyone that is thinking of buying a Jenn-air.
This year, 2019, we had problems with the main oven not lighting. After researching it seems likely to be the igniter. Also as I was troubleshooting the problem, I noticed the oven door was not closing tightly. (Explains a couple of things---the oven never seemed to cook correctly and the front of the oven was very very hot.) So starts my search for parts. The igniter was available at some locations, but very scarce. Also the one for this oven was list at just over $200 USD. Very expensive compared to what an igniter for basic 30" ovens cost.
I also was looking for hinges. They were nowhere to be found. In fact, most websites list most parts for the oven as "Discontinued". I finally called Jenn-air and was forwarded to their own parts department. The lady there confirmed that yes, the hinges were discontinued and now substitutions were available. I asked her, "so you mean to tell me I have a $10,000 unusable piece of metal in my kitchen?" The lady said, "yes, I am afraid so".
I called back to their customer service department. I told the lady my dilemma and that I could not believe a professional level oven does not have parts available. I was told, "I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but this model is just not supported any longer and parts are no longer available." I could not believe what I was hearing. Why would a company not have parts available for their high end, professional level product???? If I had a average $500 30" range, there are all kinds of parts available. There are parts available for ranges over 20 years old in this category. The way Jenn-air's parts and customer service department was so unconcerned just tells me this company just doesn't care. Stay away from this brand!

It tripped the kitchen circuit breaker within a minute, would not work without tripping the breaker. Factory authorized repair man said he fixed it, but the same results the third time we used the convection feature. Even though the kitchen circuit breaker was also replaced, we cannot use the convection feature.
By the way, when the repairman opened up the back I could see that the convection fan was hitting wires!!! The knobs are thin, brittle, chrome plated plastic, which cracked and chrome pealed within a year out of warranty. The white porcelain is porous around the top burners and was difficult, and now is near impossible to clean. This appliance was a terrible disappointment and a big waste of money!

Visit 3 and 4; said all was fine and still I had frozen food on a daily basis. The next service was to be a senior repair man and he visited 3 times; replacing the thermostat twice. The first time it turned the fridge off and the second resumed the same problem.

Can I give less than 1 star? Our range had a GAS LEAK after 1 year. Jenn-air not only took 2 months to fix something they said would be fixed in 2 weeks, sent a completely a competent service worker. He didn’t even touch the stove when he arrived only to realize when he came back after 3 weeks (when he said he’d be 1 week... no worries, he forgot to order a part - sarcasm). He goes to install the parts, asks me for one of MY towels to protect the floor as he pulls out the stove. lol. And realizes he does FIT behind the stove. Says. "‘Ma’am, I don’t know who did your gas line but, the line is too small, I can’t fit behind the stove”. Now it’s been a month without a stove since it leaks gas, it’s completely disconnected. He says he’ll have to come back with someone who can fit. A Union Gas certified gas worker, hooked our stove up, and are you kidding me?
This Jenn-air service guy also asks if he can keep all these stove parts at my house, to which I answer, "No. I’m not being responsible for this, you take them with you." I call Jenn-air, at this point I’m insisting they send me a new stove. The guy Christopher who was assigned my case is very kind and says he is sure it will take longer to get a new stove and they send me sent me $300 for the poor service. I agree because at this point I just want to be able to cook my kids breakfast and dinner in my house. The guy comes back two and a half weeks later, with another service worker of slighter build. Again he asks for one of MY towels to protect the floor when they pull the stove oven out. They get the part fixed, but leave a giant mess. The stove isn’t pushed back in. There are pieces of my stove still all over the counter. They left all their garbage all over my kitchen! AND they left the door wide open.
I told them I had a call to get on, and I come out to this mess and my neighbour letting me know my door is open. Wow! I called Jenn-air again, so angry, they sent me another $200 to compensate for the terrible service. The best part though, is that a few months later, I get a bill in the mail for $250 service call on my range. The number for their billing department that’s listed on the bill is disconnected. I’ve called them 3 times about this and they’ve done nothing. I talk to the same guy 3 times. He gives me the same number on the bill that is disconnected and tells me he’ll leave a number for the person who first handled my case, his name was Christopher and he’s in the states but has no direct line for me to contact him. I purchased a combo microwave/convection-oven in 2016. I really like this unit. It had a typical one-year warranty but near the end of that time Jenn-Air sent me an offer to take out a 3-year extended warranty for repairs [perhaps they also offered replace, I don't remember] which was a very reasonable price. Because it was reasonable, even tho I hadn't had any problems, I purchased it. In 2018 it began to show an error message and shut off. I called the warranty number and got great service.
A few weeks ago, the microwave and oven both decided not to cook - most of the time! I kept trying different settings and sometimes got it to work. This time the warranty people said neither of the 2 service companies in my area had ANY dates available! They offered a very UNreasonable buy-out OR said they would pay for an estimate if I could find a service company - I chose that option. The deal was, I would pay for the service call and they would reimburse me. I was to submit the estimate for repair and get their approval. I had to wait more than a week but the repairman was great. At first he said there was nothing wrong with the oven but found 3 parts out in the microwave. We continued to talk about how the oven acted...he listened carefully to us and tested it again finding 4 parts out in the oven.
I took photos of his notes and also made a table that clearly showed the SEVEN parts that were faulty, sent those along with his charge I paid plus the estimated charge for repair all to Jenn Air. I was so afraid they would only offer me the UNreasonable buy-out again but happily 2 days later Jenn-Air responded with a 2-day FedEx tracking and listed all 7 parts being sent. I'M A HAPPY CAMPER. THANK YOU JENN-AIR. [They have yet to pay my 2 service call charges but I'm confident they will based on this experience - and I have that agreement in writing.]

In 2004 we remodeled our kitchen. I was attracted to the bronze finish appliances from Jenn-Air. We bought a refrigerator and a dishwasher in the bronze finish. We bought a dual fuel downdraft range in black as it was not available in the color. 2109 - The Good- The refrigerator is great. Never a problem and it keeps a steady temperature. I test it occasionally with a thermometer and the digital readout of the appliance is equal to the analog thermostat. The ice-maker has worked well and the water dispenser, too. The Bad- The dishwasher pooped out in 2014. We replaced it with a black Bosch. OMGoodness - what a difference. The Bosch is a million times more quiet, it cleans faster and better and the configuration is so much more efficient.
The Ugly- At the time we bought our range, Jenn-Air was only offering two burners and a griddle. We paid extra to have the griddle converted to burners. These burners are very small and have a limited flame, but I must say that it has not been a problem. We had to replace the panel one time. And the oven often shuts itself off when being used for a long cook (like a turkey or large roast). We have to go out to the electrical panel and reset the oven. The oven is about 20-25 degrees less than than it shows it is, as per an independent thermostat I test it with. I find the I must use convection bake and convection roast if I want any chance of getting things cooked right. My DeLonghi toaster oven is more accurate and my go to for anything that will fit in it. Bottom line - if I could go back, I would buy the Bosch dishwasher, installed a downdraft stove top with 4 normal burners and had a wall oven installed. But I love the fridge.

We purchased a Jenn-Air 30-inch slide-in induction range in January 2019. We wanted the induction in order to have the quick response of a gas range. The induction cooktop works well. However, the oven is a serious disappointment. The cook temperature is at least 15 degrees too low. This is based not just on two different oven thermometers but also on a specialized 'point-and-shoot' temperature device that provides instant and highly accurate readings. These readings only confirm what is obvious when you try to bake something: foods take much too long to bake. Despite the manual's claim that the oven really does cook at the right temperature, that just is not so. The manual says that you can make an 'offset' to correct the temperature, but I don't know yet whether the temperature error is off by the same amount at different settings.
Another problem is that the cook timer is the worst timer I have ever encountered. When time is up, it makes a single very soft beep (and this is at the maximum volume setting) and then DOES NOT REPEAT FOR A FULL MINUTE WHEN IT MAKES ANOTHER SINGLE, VERY SOFT BEEP. This is worse than useless because you think you have a reminder but you will readily miss it if there is much going on. Just terrible. I would not buy this range again, especially at the price we paid.

Stovetop burners after 3 months are discolored / black enamel is already showing wear signs and the black is scraping off and the burner bars are warping. Oven doesn't bake at the right temperatures and bakes cookies unevenly, 1/2 cookies look ok the other half too done - You would think for $10,000 you could buy a high quality oven/burners - NOPE we should have kept our old stove, Thermador - it wasn't perfect but it cooked better than our new $10,000 Jenn-Air oven/stove/burners.
This is a REALLY INFERIOR OVEN/RANGE/STOVETOP appliance, bad quality, small oven doesn't fit any of our small-standard-oven cooking sheets, the digital display is low and difficult to see or use without bending over and squinting at a bad angle. I purchased a Jenn-Air combo wall oven for $5400 and it was installed March 26. It immediately failed and I call Jenn-Air and told them that I was hosting a large Easter dinner and wanted to ensure repair ASAP. They said the earliest repair they could schedule would be April 4. I told them this was unacceptable and contacted the dealer that I purchased from (Hawkins & Sons) and they had men there the next day. They thought that there were 2 boards that may need to be replaced, since this was a common problem. Jenn-Air insisted on sending their own contracted service company (with a 1 star Yelp rating) to verify the diagnosis on 4/2. He agreed the boards needed replaced and said the parts would be in in about a week and they could schedule the repair ASAP.
A week passes with no news so I contact Jenn-Air again for follow-up. They said that the repair service ordered parts from an independent supplier rather than them and had no idea when I would get them. Further, the one board was out of stock, back ordered, with no availability date. I was so frustrated that I contacted Whirlpool (their parent co.) and all of a sudden Jenn-Air found parts and said that they would expedite them. They were to arrive 4/20 and Hawkins was scheduled to do the repair Good Friday. Only one part arrived on Thur.! Another call to Jenn-Air and again they said they found the part and would expedite but it would not come until after Easter, which left me in quite a predicament.
Then I get a call from Hawkins telling me that they had a solution. They had the same model in stock (but a different color, my model was discontinued – Jenn-Air had offered to replace but only with bright stainless which would not fit in with my décor). Hawkins said that they would take the required identical part from the in stock unit and install it in my oven and then replace the part in their oven when it finally came in. However, Hawkins told me that Jenn-Air declined to permit this swap! Again I'm on the phone with Jenn-Air. I argued for quite a while and was put on hold a few times. I told them it was if I bought a black car with a defective part and the dealer took one out of a silver car as an analogy and they just couldn't get it. They finally verified that it was the same exact part and called Hawkins to tell them it was OK.
Hawkins was out promptly on Friday and switched the boards in a couple of minutes. So far it is working, but I extracted a three year warranty extension from them due to my lack of confidence in this product. This situation could have been handled in a few days rather than over three weeks (without an oven!). While the Jenn-Air personnel on the phone were very friendly they continually made false promises that strung me along. It should not take numerous phone calls and emails to get somebody to act appropriately. Based on product quality (the repairman said this is a common problem which explains the lack of replacement parts available) and such poor service I will not purchase another Jenn-Air product, possibly nothing ever again from the Whirlpool family.

The cost to replace is around $9.000.00 plus tax/installation and the old custom wood door will not fit the new units. We really expected the unit to last longer and knew there would be repairs at some point to keep it going and had no issues with spending 2-3k but Whirlpool does not make or can they find parts. What good is a 12 year sealed unit warranty when a circuit board takes the whole thing down. This is the kind of thing that is filling our landfills.

I spent more money on Jenn-Air with hopes they would be better quality. I bought a 42" built in stove. No issues. Microwave with drawer that comes out. No issues. Induction/convection range that has had a couple issues. Sensor was shot. Very strong melted plastic/wire smell all of a sudden, 5 months in when I used the stove. Beverage centre has had a drawer part on order for 6 months but Jenn-Air or their service tech has been absent. Still waiting, after multiple follow ups. Since the drawer is out of alignment it rubbed on the seal, breaking it too. I am not impressed overall with Jenn-Air on many levels. I wouldn't buy Jenn-Air again.

I called and called and just got the runaround. Now Jenn-Air says that they don't even have it made. Why would offer a item for sale that you don't have made and can't deliver. Seems a little fishy to me. Then I got a call from a Jenn-Air rep who just gave me the same talk and offered a "gift card" for my troubles and well, that never happened. It now takes several tries before it starts. We had the repair guys out again and now they're saying another board and another $500 is required to repair it. That won't happen. The others simply "rage", they don't go low enough... I just don't understand why all of the burners don't adjust the way the owner wants? Jenn-Air has a company AIG that they "back" according to the paperwork they send for extended warranty with the letterhead of Jenn-Air. I purchased their warranty back in 7/15 for my gas stove I purchased in 2014 at a cost of $35.02. I called them 2 1/2 months ago to have a repair done on the stove and after several calls with being put on hold and transferred to other numbers they informed me they do not have a service person in our area and that they would purchase back my stove for $1700.00 (cost new around $2500.00). I told them no that I needed my stove fixed.
They informed me that was all they could do. I asked them to have a supervisor to return my call - have been waiting for 1 month for that call. I am now on hold again for a supervisor. It has been 40 minutes and counting. I called earlier Jenn-Air 1 800536-6247 and spoke to Jennifer. She informed me that they have nothing to do with this company-AIG. Yet the paperwork I just received in the mail to buy again states "The only plan backed by the manufacturer beyond the limited standard warranty period."
Yes I received a new product coverage letter inviting me to renew for 1 year - 139.95 or 2 year $279.90 or 3 year $293.90 yet they do not service my area. I spoke to supervisor of AIG his name was Katzmane. I was on hold for a total time of 50 minutes. His resolution was to again give me $1700.00 buyout as they do not have a service person in our area. I asked him about the warranty that was just sent to me by them to renew my contract. He states "that is sent by a 3rd party". I am now on hold for his "supervisor" time waiting 20 minutes and holding.

In both cases, they can not find the parts. It is amazing the parts are under the five years warranty and now are not manufactured anymore. How that could be.
The range is less than 3 years old and we can not find parts? Unfortunately, Jenn-Air is not manufacturing all gas range. Mine is all gas and it is installed on a free standing island. I'm still waiting a valve for the cooktop to be replaced and have no idea yet when it will be received. These have became minor problems with the failure of the refrigerator 8 days before. I had a Jenn-Air stove that broke down. The electrical control panel stopped working, so the entire stove stopped working, because of improper heat control in the stove itself. The way Jenn-Air stoves from the 2000 to 2015 (I believe) were designed was flawed in that there was insufficient insulation to prevent heat from going from the oven to the panel. The influx of heat into the control panel caused them to overheat and cease working.
The Jenn-Air repairman came to my house and told me that there was nothing he could do. The company's design was flawed and the panel could not be repaired. The Jenn-Air repairman told me that the company had been aware of the problem but kept selling the stoves nonetheless. Moreover, the company decided not to provide replacements for the control panels. Effectively, when your Jenn-Air stove breaks down for this reason, you cannot repair the panel nor replace it. We were told by the Jenn-Air representatives that you have to buy a new stove. For which they do not offer discounts.
The fact that Jenn-Air has been aware of the problem for years and not only did nothing to fix the issue, but kept selling the stove, is plainly not what one would expect from an honest company. Moreover, Jenn-Air's solution of buying another entirely new stove really just adds insult to injury. I am never again buying anything from this company. As an anecdote, apparently Jenn-Air's great reputation was built in the 70s, 80s and 90s, but later on they started cheapening out on the quality of their products, trying instead to rely solely on the reputation that they had earned through previous decades.

This is not a true slide in, and I was shocked to find I needed to do some major cutting on my granite counter top, and that was after they told me it would fit. The stove top knobs are on the top, I prefer them on the front. The knobs are round, and very slippery. That are difficult to grab and turn. I like the element top as now my large skillets sit directly on the glass, and not on the edge of the cartridges. I also like the fact the oven vents from the back, and not from the downdraft grate in the middle. The finish on my previous oven melted from the constant heat from this grate.

I remodeled my kitchen 12 years ago and purchased all new Jenn-Air Pro-Style Appliances -- range, hood, dishwasher, refrigerator, wall oven, microwave, and warming drawer. Within the first year, all but one appliance required a service call but they were all covered under the one year warranty. At 10 years, the refrigerator was deemed non-repairable (compressor failed) so I had to get a new one costing a few thousand dollars. At 11 years, the oven igniter required replacement. At 12 years, the dishwasher required $300 in repairs for the service call, cables, and door hinges. At 12 years, one burner valve failed on the gas range. The problem is that parts were discontinued and cannot be located anywhere and since the burner is leaking gas, the range has to be replaced.
When I purchased the Jenn-Air appliances, I thought the Jenn-Air name stood for quality lasting products I guess I was wrong. The shocking thing is that after a number of years, they discontinue parts and so in some instances, the customer is required to purchase new appliances. The part I needed only cost about $170 while a new range similar to mine is over $5400! Jenn-Air is willing to give me a 'deal' on a new comparable Jenn-Air range but it will still cost me several thousand dollars and my fear is that if there are issues later on and no parts are available, I will be in the same situation. When I called my sales rep to explain this and ask about the rebate, she stated Jenn-Air had extended the promotion through 2016 therefore there would be no issue obtaining the rebate. Well I recently submitted the rebate and received a denial notice from Jenn-Air stating that the promotion I was eligible for expired at the end of June and all rebate forms had to be submitted by August.
When I explained that the delivery was delayed and there was no way I could have had the forms submitted by the deadline the rep said sorry but since the appliances were purchased in June I was not eligible for the July-December promotion and I had missed the window to submit the Jan-June promotion. I asked what the difference between the two promotions was and the rep said the promotional dates. I then asked to speak with a manager. The manager stated the same and was downright nasty. The fridge is huge on the outside and has almost no space on the inside. The left door has some idiotic flap so you can only close the double doors if you close the left door first. Of course the only reason to build something like this is to spite and annoy whoever is stupid enough to buy it.
The microwave is even worse than the fridge. For one it doesn't rotate. I now fully grasp why every single microwave out there (except this one) rotates your food: if it doesn't it will only heat up in one place and stay cold everywhere else. Jenn-Air's solution to this? If you run something that takes 2 minutes to heat the microwave will beep after 1 minute and prompt you to rotate your food. No kidding. Finally, they didn't make the door standard: it opens like a drawer. So that you spill your drink if the cup is too full. I cannot believe anyone would ever buy anything made by Jenn-Air. I can hardly disagree with numerous complaints on this website. I have been told Whirlpool has purchased Jenn-Air, which may be a good thing unless Whirlpool assumes the same posture Jenn-Air has adopted regarding customer service or, rather, lack thereof. Without sounding redundant, after reading at least thirty consumer complaints, I will only say Jenn-Air has been a miserable failure in appliance quality, and apparently worse in customer service.
A motor that hums loudly in an oven (beginning less than 90 days after first use), even louder in the convection oven, a dishwasher that hasn't cleaned dishes correctly from day one, a light bulb that went out in the first year of use, and a refrigerator that makes a noise reminiscent of a previous one when the compressor went out. In simpler terms, a kitchen filled with faulty, defective and/or deficient appliances that are sub-par at very least. Customer disservice is at its peak. "Durable" goods by definition means for the long haul but not Jenn-Air products, they are banking on your repair costs. This is obvious as no one will repair them and you must call Jenn-Air. Nice business case Jenn-Air! I've called (3) repair houses. All (3) refused to work on Jenn-Air. When I call Jenn-Air, they want $140 just to show up!!! WTF!! ARE YOU JOKING! Bottom line... I had a Jenn-Air oven/stove top unit from the 1980's that is still being used at my friend's home. Not one problem. When I moved to my new house and built the kitchen, I purchased the 6 burner stove top. Thankfully that was the only Jenn-Air product I purchased. First and foremost they do not offer the 6 burner (3 inset units) in Stainless Steel. The polished black is horrible to keep clean. I even have housekeepers who are professionals at cleaning and they have a difficult time keeping it clean. The thing that really bothers me is that the red indicator light that shows when the burner is turned on, pretty well dissolves and so far has had to be replaced 4 times. I am getting ready to call the repairman again for yet another replacement. I should also explain that I rarely cook! I would estimate that I use that cook top twice a week at most.
I was told when I called to have repairman come (they changed the rules where I can't call the repairman directly--I have to contact Jenn-Air) that I should turn the light off and not use it. DUH! How the heck can you use the product when you can't turn on the burner? I almost would look forward to replacing it if it weren't for the fact that the countertop had to be cut to fit it in the island. It is much larger than the other brands that with which I would use as a replacement.

Jenn-Air does not support its products!! This is my third Jenn-Air stove product and it will be my LAST! Jenn-Air does not provide any support. Unit does not have standard knobs as some of the burners are double burners. I pay over $2,000 for a gas downdraft drop in range with 4 different types of control knobs and they do not have the control knobs I need... What am I supposed to do, buy another range for $2,000 because I cannot buy $20 knobs? Maybe I'll buy a new range, but not from these folks. Also, model number is not in any of the written materials, which I kept. Customer service says the only way I can find the model number is to pull the range out from between the cabinets.... not easy to do when it's hooked up to a GAS LINE!! No model number anywhere else... very poor planning. I would rate a zero if I could! RECOMMEND YOU DO NOT PURCHASE FROM JENN-AIR.

2 and a half years ago, we purchased the highest end Jenn-Air kitchen Appliance for our new remodeled kitchen, that included fridge, wall oven convection, and microwave convection as well as a warming drawer and a dishwasher. So far we had at least 2 issues with each item, and we purchased the extended service plan as well... it seems that it only covers just electrical and mechanical issue just like the factory warranty.
Then last year the microwave glass panels developed a drip spot inside the panels, nothing of our doing, and mind you these panels supposedly are air tight and sealed... how can they tell me this is a cosmetic issue and is not covered by factory or extended warranty! I am baffled as to how this spot of white substance is in there, and it's so irritating to look especially when you keep an immaculate clean home, I am so embarrassed by it and refuse to pay for service on a manufacturer defect just like all the other issues we have had. I will never ever purchase their garbage again, and I wouldn't even give them 1 star. Don't waste your hard earned money... I could have purchased a cheaper brand 3 times already for the money I spent.

The warranty for extended care is absolutely a ripoff and covers little if anything, that could go wrong. I needed a replacement rack for the dishwasher I have and was billed $300. This rack and its replacement is an overly complicated piece of trash. The rack fell apart and I ordered and paid for a new one. The spray was attached and needed a pro to unattach from the broken arm and reattached to the new rack, and the warranty refused to pay. For what this cost, totally, I would have been better off with a new machine, which, in the future will not be a Jenn-Air or similar product. They are a bad news outfit.

I've had my plumber out twice and it just can't be fixed. The refrigerator is even worse! The water that dispenses from the door does not come out of a cooling tank and is room temperature. I called the technical support line and they told me I need to use ice to cool the water down - how ridiculous is that? I had a cheaper GE profile in my last house that gave us 16 ounces of cold water every 30 minutes or so. The storage in the fridge is also subpar. Dishwasher takes FOREVER!!! I read all the other reviews and would agree with the other reviewers, the Jenn-Air (Pro Style) appliances sucks. I brought my appliances in 2005 a 4 burner cooktop (gas), dishwasher, convection/microwave, and double oven. The microwave stop working in 2012, I called Jenn-Air who recommended a certified vendor to fix the microwave, the service company advised me not to get the microwave fix, because the BTU from the cooktop will burn the microwave motherboard out again and it will be a waste of funds. I could not move the microwave, because I have custom cabinets, which were designed based on my appliances' specification.
I bought a Jenn-Air new microwave, the new microwave outlined the same specs as the original microwave, but the specs of the new Pro Style was actually different, the microwave would have probably burned-out anyway returned to Bray and Scarf. I have a non-working microwave in my kitchen, but the cooking vent still works. Three of burners on the cooktop don't work, the parts are no longer available. My husband manually lights the burners praying every time. I need a new cooktop, but I am afraid the new cooktop may not fit the specs of my cabinets. The dishwasher spills water on my kitchen floor when draining. Also need new racks, the wheels broke off. I need to hurry and order the racks before they're discontinued. I was thinking about purchasing the Pro Style refrigerator, because all of the other appliances are Jenn-Air, which are broken anyway so does not make sense to buy Jenn-Air.
I need to start replacing my appliances with another brand that can fit my cabinetry specifications. Oh by the way, the handles on the double ovens breaks often and the motherboard burned out before, the oven was still under warranty at the time. The appliances has a lifespan of 6-7 years. The Sears Elite appliances have a 15-20 year lifespan, the products will be outdated prior to breaking down. You will need to upgrade for modern and current time. Jenn-Air is about the look, not the quality of the product.
Why are the Jenn-Air parts discontinued so quickly? This is a way to get the consumer to buy new Jenn-Air products. I'm done with Jenn-Air. The worse thing about Jenn-Air products they are only sold at certain certified dealers, the prices are the same across the USA. The certified dealers can't provide promotional deals unless Jenn-Air offers a discount/rebate. The next time I will explore KitchenAID, GE Profile, or Wolf. I haven't heard great things about Viking. A repair guy told me to run as fast as I can from the Viking products. He also stated there was only one certified repair vendor in the DMV area, which it take months to get something repaired.

I have had a nice looking and very pricey Jenn-Air pro-style gas range for about 6 years now. The original plastic control touch-panel on the front (part number 5760M339-60, used on many similar ranges) failed after only a couple of years. Touchpad positions started going dead, then it just started beeping randomly failing to respond or reboot at all. I replaced it myself with a new unit ($250!!!) which included the whole stainless steel assembly for the front panel. Now THAT one has failed with the same symptoms as the first, and I've just ordered YET ANOTHER replacement unit.
Clearly this is a design flaw, not a random failure or misuse issue. Neither my dealer nor Jenn-Air customer support has been a bit of help, even so far as telling me how to reduce the chances of failure. My suspicion is that the failure is heat-related, but I rarely use the broiler (gas) and never turn on the high-temperature cleaning mode. Note I also have a Jenn-Air Dutch-door counter-depth refrigerator which has given us nothing but trouble. I am writing a separate complaint for THAT little lousy product. If Jenn-Air/Whirlpool (the parent company) doesn't get its design, quality and support acts together, they will surely lose their customers to the Asian and European brands, just the way the car companies did. This is not what I was anticipating on Christmas day, and committed to hosting Dinner for 30! I had to cook at my neighbor's home and transport food back to my home, very nice to have wonderful neighbors that were out of town!
The dishwasher will not completely dry the dishes and will not discharge the water, leaving appropriate 3 inches of water in the bottom. I must manually discharge the excess water by hitting cancel after each wash. The microwave light on the inside continues to blow the bulb, but this was never covered by the manufacturer warranty so, I paid for approximately 15 lights and the replacement, it will not completely warm food, it takes extremely long! We bought all new Jenn-Air appliances in 2008. The fridge has been fine and the dishwasher alright but a little noisy and doesn't seem to pump all the water out, the range on the other hand not so much. The downdraft is useless, it sucks the heat from the burners so the heat's uneven and doesn't draw in any of the smoke. Our main problem is with the oven though, it will heat up to let's say 375 and beep to let you know it's up to temp which it is. The problem is that although the oven indicates it's holding steady at 375 the oven shuts itself off (this is great when you're hosting a dozen people for X-mad dinner and you find out the temp is down to 150 after a couple hours of cooking). I'd say this happens at least fifty percent of the time. We've had to reheat the oven up to four times to cook one pizza.
It took a while to figure out what was happening and then we just lived with it for awhile. Then I remembered we had an extended warranty and called it in. I told the customer service agent our problem and that as far as I knew the problem had existed since new. She put me on hold for about five minutes and when she came back told me that since the problem existed since new it was a pre-existing condition and they wouldn't cover it. Needless to say not a big fan.

We purchased all Jenn-Air matching appliances and the touch pad on the double convection is failing on some of the touch locations and the part is no longer manufacture but also not only is the part not manufactured, I am unable to find any appliance by any maker that will match the design of the remaining appliances. The dishwasher touch pad recently also died and the parts to fix this are available at a cost of over $300.
I am retired and after spending over $7,000 on kitchen appliances just seven years ago do not expect two of four to fail within seven years. I even went to the Jenn-Air facebook page, made some comments, received an answer from one of the Jenn-Air people with an e-mail at Jenn-Air and "maybe they will be able to assist you. I am not looking forward to the future when the double oven's touch pad completely dies and we will be unable financially to replace all the appliances in our kitchen or to deal with mismatched kitchen appliances. As you can note from the photo, all the appliances have the same handles and we even purchased a faucet for the sink that matches the handles on the dishwasher, refrigerator and double oven.

Bought a stainless steel outdoor grill partly due to the Jenn-Air "lifetime warranty" on stainless steel parts. The bowl assembly rusted within a few years and fell apart. When calling to get the warrantied part, I was told it is no longer made so there was nothing they could do. Jenn-Air rep stated even if it was available, it would be too expensive to ship. I didn't realize their lifetime warranty was valid only if it didn't cause any inconvenience to Jenn-Air. Their warranty states repair or replace at Jenn-Air's discretion. I discussed with the rep that if the part is no longer made then they needed to repair or replace the grill to honor the warranty. They declined. I offered to have the part fabricated by a local shop, again they declined.
The Jenn-Air rep at first tried to tell me the warranty was only for some stainless steel parts. I read him the lifetime warranty description from the Owners manual that states "all" stainless parts have a lifetime "repair or replace" warranty. Offered to even send him a picture of the warranty statement right out of the manual. The logical option is to repair the grill by having a local fabrication shop make the part for the grill out of a sheet of stainless. If Jenn-Air no longer makes the part, then this is a reasonable solution or they can replace the grill – as the warranty states, their choice. Either is acceptable.
To date, Jenn-Air will do neither. The rep then asked for pictures which I sent. Never heard back. Made a call a few weeks later and the response was "we are looking into it". It has been several months, more requested pictures sent after I called for a status update on my claim, several more calls made to Jenn-air and they are still "looking into it". They have never once gave the courtesy of a follow up. I suggested they send a local rep out to look at the grill, they state they have none.
To date, the lifetime warranty is useless and I have an expensive grill that is unusable. Not the response I would expect from what I thought to be a reputable company. Very disappointed in what I believed was a quality company and product. In my opinion, Jenn-Air flat out lied in writing about their warranty. Nowhere does it state that the warranty is good only when the parts are available. Lifetime means lifetime. I can only conclude from my experience that this is how Jenn- Air treats their customers and honors their warranties.

I picked this Stainless Steel Grill out and it was paid for my family as a gift because my Long-used Sears Kenmore Gas Grill was just plain worn out. I was sold by the stainless steel construction, the Jenn-Air name, and the Lifetime Warranty. After I got it, I was worried when I read about the poor after purchase service, and lack of spare parts inventory by NexGrill, the actual manufacturer of the grill.
I used it without problems with a few years. Last year while cleaning it to grill some Omaha Steaks that I got as a gift for my birthday, I found that the flame tamers, burners and crossover plates were all rusted out. The chrome plated pieces that are part of the lid/top handle, and the handles for the doors were bubbling and coming apart, but I never bothered to order replacements before. On top of that, turns out that the advertised stainless steel cooking grates are stainless steel clad cast iron, and they had split open and rusted to pieces over the course of being used for 3-4 years.
I pulled out the manual, and contacted Grill Services thinking that I could order replacement parts to be supplied under the lifetime warranty. Was told that the lifetime warranty only covered some of the all stainless steel parts. The crossover tubes which protect the grill from gas build in the case of faulty ignition (which are riveted to the bottom of the bowl/firebox are not available, and not replaceable under warranty). Further that the bowl/firebox being made of stainless steel did have a lifetime warranty, but the parts attached to it did not. And the lid handle and the door handles were not covered by the warranty and would cost me over $40 to replace. Then, I was asked for the receipt (give me a break it was a present about 5-6 years ago. I told that the parts they were going to supply (flame tamers, burners, and cooking grids/grates), would be shipped as a one-time courtesy, but I would have to pay $38 for shipping.
I contacted the people who coordinated the gift purchase for me, and managed to get a copy of the original receipt. I contacted Grill Services, thinking that the warranty would be honored in full, and I would not have to pay for shipping since I could prove ownership/purchase. Nope, no such luck. What's more, the person I talked to on the phone did not seem to be interested in registering the grill in my name since I had proof of purchase for future warranty claims. It took nearly five months for Grill Services to deliver the parts. When I phoned in on a regular basis to get an update on the expected delivery date, I was given a new delivery date at least four times over the over four months I waited for the parts.
When I finally got the parts, the flame tamers had cosmetic damage, the stainless cooking grids were welded together crooked and they were smaller than the original parts, and the burners were delivered with some of the holes oversized, and some of the holes not drilled. I phoned Grill Services to complain about the defective parts I received and to get a RMA. I was told that I could throw away the defective parts, and I would be put back on the waiting list for the same parts, because they were already back on backorder.
I found the crossover tubes that Grill Service said were not available for sale made out of stainless steel for $8.70 each (and in stock from several Internet Aftermarket BBQ Parts Suppliers). It seems ridiculous that I should be forced to pay an aftermarket supplier to buy safety parts that should be under lifetime warranty from the manufacturer of the grill. My next grill is not going to be a Jenn-Air or any other grill manufactured by NexGrill.

Bad enough in this era of quality that they ship non-functional products, but the real issue was the ridiculous dialog with their customer service people. For anyone reading this - don't waste your money with Jenn-Air. Just purchased a whole kitchen's worth of appliances and pretty much everything is a problem. The fridge doors don't close properly and are uneven (moisture and frost - having to get that repaired), the dishwasher smells and all they tell me to do is that it has to be cleaned with a special product monthly (in 44 years I never had to do that for a dishwasher that is used maybe once/week), the microwave won't pop popcorn (and the response was "put it on a plate" - yeah, doesn't work - they don't care), range top scratched - but warranty on scratches is only 30 days, and the range was installed before my kitchen was done and I was unable to use it, so by the time I cooked it was post-30 days and it scratched right away.
Only thing so far not to give a problem is the oven, but that's rarely used so I am guessing it's only a matter of time. Everything is crap. Don't waste your money. Notice the gas pouring out in the sagging melted spot. It will undoubtedly get worse with that heat pouring out. This range has less than 2 years of use as it's a summer home. I asked what the differences are to determine if parts can be change to LP, after all, how does the factory set them up differently? I have not received a reply.
I have also been told that the range is not convertible and I should have known that before I made the purchase. I explained that no salesman tells you this. They said the information is available in the installation guide. I explained that you don't even receive an installation guide until you make the purchase - all of the manuals come with the purchase.
I've gone so far as to state that I believe this would be good grounds for a class action lawsuit for everyone who has purchased a Jenn Air range not knowing that after an expensive (my set up was $7,000) purchase you cannot count on being able to move and convert the stove; while even the least expensive of ranges are convertible with a kit.
After this statement, they went so far as to have someone from customer service call me at home to go over the fact that a sales person should have explained this, that the installation manual states that it's not convertible, etc. I explained about their manuals and when you receive them and told them that they were of no help and no one should spend the money on their appliances. So now I've got a $7,000 stove that I have to try to sell or leave behind.

I had a gas on glass cooktop installed in a newly constructed beach house. It looked amazing, and I absolutely loved the way it looked with the granite countertop. Four months later, May 2014, the glass cracked when using it. I called Jenn Air, and they set up an appointment for an appliance company to look at it. Sure enough, it had to be replaced. However, the replacement cooktop was cracked upon delivery. So, another had to be ordered, and that was now scheduled to arrive in July. Do you have any idea what it's like to make breakfast without a cooktop? You can't! It's impossible! At that point, I had been without a cooktop for two months.
I'd like to say the situation was resolved only it wasn't because the cooktop scheduled to be installed in July was defective as well. FIVE cooktops later, Jenn Air finally gave up and admitted that their gas on glass cooktops were defective. They discontinued that model, and they returned the money I paid for the cooktop in November. They never apologized, and they never offered to do anything else to show how sorry they were that I was without a cooktop for 7 months. I lost an entire season of rentals, and they just didn't care!

We have an eight year old over sized Jenn Air gas range with six burner top, convection bake oven, that has never lived up to our expectations. At most, only two burners will work at a time. The broiler stopped working probably six years ago and the oven cooks very uneven with or without the convection bake on. Tonight, one of the two burners stopped working. I am furious that I purchased such a lousy product! There is no one in our area to work on this piece of crap on top of all of this. Do your homework people. Do not purchase a Jenn Air appliance of any kind. Hoping to find something affordable to replace this junk!!!

Just three weeks into our new construction house that come with "Top of the Line appliances" (!!!) and gas range control panel started failing when oven is hot (it actually failed in first day). We basically have no control over oven at 350°F. Panel doesn't accept any command and does what he wishes. So much for top quality product :( I called the retailer and waiting on service people to call. Just simply disappointed. Dishwasher and fridge are Jenn-Air too. Waiting for them to fail on me any day as the crappy material they used doesn't look sturdy enough to handle daily needs.

2 year old oven. Inside glass shattered within 10 minutes of starting self-clean function for very first time. Obvious from break pattern that it started from the outside edge of glass buried within the frame, not from user impact. Never seen anything like it even in 30-year old cheap ovens. Jenn-Air had replaced door fronts at time of installation because they had come dented, but only replaced outer faces, which has the outer glass piece, not the entire door which would have included the (supposedly) heat tolerant interior glass. Refused to repair for free. When we called service number it answered and forced you to engage in a vacation survey before you could proceed with call. Apparently that's the way their phone system works when business hours have ended. They can't just tell you they're closed. They have to squeeze a survey out of you so they can make money on your wasted phone call and time. Never seen anything like it. These are overpriced pieces of crap, DON'T BUY. Takes a half hour to Preheat to 400 degrees. All you get is a fancy name at a fancy price.

Facts: Model #: JDB3650AWY5. Age of unit: 1 yr & 1 mo. Paid: ~$1200. Parts covered for 60 mo, but labor not covered after 12 mo. Issue: dishwasher won't drain unless cancel is pressed twice, dishes always dirty after cleaning them. Scenario: spent most of the morning on the phone with more than one Jenn-Air representative. Even though the unit is out of warranty by less than a month, they won't cover the labor and it's going to cost me at least $200 more to get it fixed. So that averages out to more than $100 PER MONTH to do about 6 loads of dishes or $~17 PER LOAD not including soap or water... I can pay someone less to do them by hand. I paid A LOT more for this brand because I thought it would be built to last... WRONG! I will never EVER put in this brand again. And here's the kicker... Paid ~$ 4k for Jenn-Air double oven and when I use both ovens at the same time, it shuts down and I have to remove power at the electrical box to clear the issue... And that was what the Jenn-Air told me to do about that! It's an acceptable workaround I was told... This oven is only 1 yo too.

We bought a Jenn Air gas range with enamel coated cast iron grid and convection oven. We had it for 7 years and already has to replace the grid once. Some part of the enamel on the newly replaced grid already chipped after less than a week! We also have to replace the valve knobs twice already because they are cheap, plastic pieces that melt when you use the oven over 375F. So, the only way to protect the valve knobs is to take them off every time you use the oven!! How crazy is that! Because each plastic valve knob costs over $14 each to replace!! They are vastly overpriced and under engineered!! The oven seal is bad and the convection oven function was broken after 3 years of rare uses. We also have a Jenn Air dishwasher and the rubber sealing tapes are worn and the plastic baskets are all unusual amount of wear and tired looking! My husband is a diabetic so that makes my meal prep easy several days a week. However, if you are adverse to cleaning your grill at least 2 times a month this may not be your dream machine. I love the indoor grill. We are retired and do not even own a gas grill at this point. NEVER BUY JENN-AIR! I bought all new Jenn-Air appliances. I spent over $6000 thinking they were good quality products - was I wrong. The microwave was the first to go. It looks brand new because we didn't get to use it very long. Then the fridge went and the service tech said it would cost more to fix than replace. The dishwasher has had issues since we first got it. The wheels fell off and we had to replace. The brackets have snapped off - such cheap plastic parts. The seal on the dishwasher also came off so water was leaking all over the floors.
As for my oven range, the self clean auto lock broke. Most recently the oven stopped heating up. I got the run around from the people at Jenn Air. They sent a service tech out and he quoted me $650 to repair the microwave and the oven. He said he needed to order the parts and I didn't hear back for almost 2 weeks. They told me they couldn't find the parts and to check back in 3-4 days. I told them that they needed to call me.
I decided to follow up with Jenn-Air directly and Whirlpool who are part of the same company. They told me they no longer carry the parts. Now I'm out $160 for the tech coming out to my house and he can't even fix them. I spoke to so many people at Jenn-Air and got nowhere. Bad customer service and poor quality. We're just going to fix the old Kenmore (which we never had a problem with over 18 years) and pay for an expensive part and try to figure out what to do down the road. Don't consider a down draft unless you're going with a cooktop and have a big kitchen to find more space for an oven, we don't. Supposedly the company could not replace the control panel. Luckily, our home was still under a warranty and the range was replaced with a brand new Jenn-Air. LESS THAN TWO YEARS LATER - the control panel malfunctioned. This means one is unable to use the oven or broiler. The replacement control panel alone costs $400 (USD)! Now add in the cost of labor and you are looking at a sizable bill. When the new control panel malfunctions (and it will), we will definitely be replacing the range with one that does NOT have a computerized control panel - even if we have to buy it second-hand. I have heard of planned obsolescence but this is ridiculous!

We purchased the following Jenn Air appliances and had them installed in our new house on March 15th 2014: Refrigerator Model JFI2089WES Jenn-Air® Cabinet Depth French Door Refrigerator with External Dispenser, 69"(h); Dishwasher Model JDB8200AWP3 Jenn-Air® TriFecta™ Dishwasher with 46 dBA; Range JDRP430WP Jenn-Air® Pro-Style® Dual-Fuel Range with MultiMode® Convection, 30"; Microwave Model JMV8208WP-1 Jenn-Air® Over-the-Range Microwave Oven, 30".
The good, the bad and the ugly.
I absolutely love the dishwasher. It is so quiet we sometimes open it by accident while it's running. No complaints about how well it cleans. The controls are a bit hard to see from a distance. You're going to have to get pretty close to read them. Once you get used to your regular running cycle you forget about it.
Now for the $4000 Pro-Style Range. First, I must admit I'm not much of a cook. I do love the overall look and the ability to slide pans easily around because the grates cover the whole top. I'm also a clean freak. I try to keep everything in new condition. I clean the grates after cooking if they are dirty. After the first wash, I noticed tiny white or silver color pin size marks on the grate immediately after cleaning. To me, this means the black on the grates can easily be scrubbed off and will soon be ugly if I need to scrub them often. If I don't clean them, they"ll be dirty ugly. Otherwise, function has not been a problem.
The $3249 Cabinet Depth French Door Refrigerator arrived with a dent in the door. The installers immediately ordered a new one and it was taken care of promptly. This is my first French door fridge. I got it because party trays never fit in a side-by-side. Both the fridge side and the freezer side are always too narrow. The controls on this one are also very hard to read unless you get really close. My husband had to put a sticky dot on the water and ice buttons to know where they are. The dots look ugly but he's right. We have yet to NOT drop ice cubes on the floor each time we dispense. I had to put a rug in front of the fridge to catch the cubes. Frustrating. If you're going to have a party, you better bag ice in advance. This ice tray is really small. Aside from the mentioned irritations, the fridge is a keeper.
Now for the $649 Jenn-Air® Over-the-Range Microwave Oven, 30". For us, a microwave is really only used to heat up leftovers, pop popcorn and warm up coffee. Since we do lots of popcorn, we noticed a problem almost immediately. When using the POPCORN button, we placed a bag in and watched it cook. The microwave magnetron shut off at 2.5 minutes. We know that because we heard it stop and watched the popcorn bag deflate completely. The popcorn cycle finished without inflating the bag or popping anymore popcorn. This happened with at least 4 different brands of popcorn. We tried skipping the POPCORN button and found out if we cooked it for 5-6 minutes, the magnetron would eventually turn back on and start popping corn again.
We called repair. They confirmed the problem and ordered a new board. They installed it. Again we had the same problem. We called repair again. They came out and said they couldn't fix the problem. We called customer service who said they would write up a customer complaint. I received a call about a week later. The representative advised me to place a microwave safe plate under the bag of popcorn and that would fix the problem. I have a $68 microwave in my casita for guests that works better than my Jenn-Air® Over-the-Range Microwave Oven, 30" that cost $649. I told the representative that her resolution was not acceptable and I wondered if there were any other options. She said no, but I could speak to her supervisor. She placed me on hold. No one ever came back on the line AND no one called back. I'm still waiting to hear from Jenn Air. The microwave matches all the other PRO-Series appliances, so swapping it out for a different brand would ruin my new kitchen look. This microwave is certainly NOT a keeper in my opinion. I would be interested if anyone else is having the same problem with this model?
There you have it, the good, the bad and the ugly.

The week of April 18 my contractor was ready to install the appliances so they contacted Slyman Brothers and had the appliances delivered to my home.
The next week I called Jenn-Air to see when I would be receiving my rebates. I was told that the numbers on the form, filled out by Slyman Brothers, for the rebate was the model numbers not the serial numbers so they were not going to give me the rebates. They said they mailed me a letter telling me I had to turn in the serial numbers within 60 days after I purchased them or I wouldn't receive the rebate. I told them I didn't receive any letter.
Obviously, if I knew I needed to do something else to get the $450 I would have done it. I didn't even have the appliances in the 60 days so I don't know how I would have been able to give them the serial numbers in 60 days. After three years, the touch pad microprocessor went out and we could not set the oven, or work any of the controls. We paid a recommended Appliance Repair Service $352.95 to repair the range. The repairman said it is a common problem with the stove, design defect, too much heat rising from the oven destroys the touch pad. Now three years later, we have the same problem. I suppose it will be over $400.00 to repair this time as we know, everything goes up.
If an appliance salesman tries to sell you a Jenn-Air product, I would run for my life. I have heard that they are now owned by Maytag. We bought a Bosch dish washer and a large Samsung fridge/freezer, no problems with either one of them. Will never ever buy from Jenn-Air again. The dual fuel range, about $2000 installed has been nothing but trouble. The igniters on the gas cook top portion develop a mind of their own coming on and stay on. The cost to repair these is about $350. They fail every 4 to five years and Jenn-Air is apologetic as they arrange for a serviceman to repair them. Their repair people have not shown any real concern for being on time nor do the normally repay anything the first trip. Approximately 4 years ago I purchased a Jenn-Air 30" Double Electric Oven. While the oven performs brilliant, I have run into a major problem with replacing the outer door glass. The glass and the outer door panel are all one unit. The problem seems to be that Jenn-Air had made very little if any replacement doors for my model. The oven model is JJW9830DDR17 and it is one of their upper price range models with an MSRP of around $3,400.00. The finish is an oiled rubbed bronze. While I understand that this color was probably a limited production I also found that the stainless steel door was also not available. I completely understand if an oven or other appliance was 10 years old or older or a lower cost model having problems finding parts, but in my case the oven is only 4 years old.
Upon contacting customer service the lady I spoke to was nice enough but could only tell me that the part was "obsolete". I would imagine that most other people that purchased this oven would have purchased matching appliances as I did because of the design and color. The problem now is I am left with no way to replace this part, and I am either stuck with a broken door or have to replace the oven. In my opinion this is a major short coming of upper management and definitely reflects poorly on Jenn-Air's ability to provide service support. If and when I decide to replace my appliances they would surely not be with Jenn-Air unless I can resolve my problem.

The other three burners only adjust to Medium, which is too hot for simmering sauces, caramelizing onions, etc. Jenn-Air responded that I should have had better consumer information before purchasing the stove. It never occurred to me to ask a question about burner temperatures, as I took it for granted that all burners would have a full temperature range. This is a very expensive stove, and it is not designed for anyone who cooks more than one thing at a time.

Called for repairs on a dripping water spigot in fridge. Technician was a nice, hard-working guy. After two hours, he thought he had fixed it and just gave it a last minute test. The thing was still dripping, so he said he had to order more parts. The rest has been tragicomedy. Nice, hard-working guy disappeared, and Jenn-Air keeps saying its computers are down. Weird.

On 1/13/14 I called Jenn-Air customer service because the downdraft switch on my stove, Model # JES9800CAS, had stopped working. The level of service was unsatisfactory. I escalated to the agent's supervisor, whose response (attached) was essentially your lack of knowledge of our products is your problem. Even more maddening, was the fact that the supervisor, in her response, displayed an advanced level of knowledge of the product. So, clearly the problem is not a lack of information, but an apparent unwillingness to share it with customers.
I understand that you may have business reasons for wanting to encourage customers to contact local service agents. But, for something as apparently simple as a replacement switch, and with such an unhelpful and argumentative Jenn-Air- branded service department, such a policy does your business no favors. What I expected, and found at Sears (see attached transcript), was someone at least willing to help, and so I ordered from them. One wonders why you have a service department.
I am deeply disappointed with the Jenn-Air level of service, to the point that I doubt I will ever purchase another Jenn-Air product, nor recommend that anyone else do so, and in fact I'll actively discourage everyone I know from using the brand. And to be clear, my dissatisfaction came about not from your broken product, but your broken customer service.

I am in the process of purchasing a new range. My former gas range was a Jenn-Air. The top has broken twice. I called the first time and you said I would have to pay for the new top which I did. The second top cracked shortly thereafter. I will NEVER purchase another one as the tops cost $500.00.

The clamp on the company installed water hose to the motor failed. The bulletin Jenn-Air issued in October 2012 about the part, and the kit they sent to repair companies, never reached the owners of this model so we never had a chance to replace it and avoid all of this damage. The clamp was replaced by a repair man their company sent from A&E Factory Repair since it was still under warranty. He took the faulty part with him. He did leave a cash register type receipt with the amount owed as zero since it was still in warranty. I have no idea if I threw it out since I had not found all of the damage or if I just misplaced it but whatever the reason I do not have it. Several times I have requested a copy from the company which was supposed to be mailed to me. I have not yet received it.
At this point we were only aware of a bad smell in our room downstairs. By that evening it was so bad we realized it had to be serious. We looked behind a tall dresser with a tall TV on top of it and found the damage to the wall and understood why the carpet was so wet! The water ran down a wall to the downstairs bedroom, flooded the carpet, and ruined two walls and the carpet. Black mold had grown on the 2x4, the wallboard, and along the edges of the carpet at the base of the walls. We contacted Jenn-Air and were told to contact our homeowner's insurance. We did.
We also informed them we had the information on the replacement kit Jenn-Air had issued for the part. A portion of the ceiling and wall had to be torn down, and the bottom of the wall board beside that wall had to be cut off as well. The room was sprayed with chemicals to kill the mold. The padding under the carpet was cut out. We had to dry out the water. This required the use of dehumidifiers and industrial blowers in both the bedroom and the kitchen. The water seeped under the backer board and the tile in the kitchen. After using dehumidifiers and blowers, it still would not dry. After this failed to dry out the sub floor, the tile was pulled up along with the backer board in front of the dishwasher so the sub floor would dry. USAA sent out a company called Max Care to do the repairs so I have no estimates to give to them. The walls and ceiling in my bedroom need to be replaced and textured, the room painted, and the carpet in the bedroom replaced. All of the tile in the kitchen area will have to be replaced.
I have tried to reach the CEO but of course his secretary is very protective and will not let me speak with him so I can ask why this company treats its customers so poorly! Here is his info. Maybe if we all try, they will get the message!

The first time I used the !8,000 BTU burner to boil water, the glass top shattered. It was replaced under warranty. After several years, the igniters began to fail and trip the circuit breaker. Now, having paid $129 to get service to show up I'm told it would cost $450 more to replace 3 igniters because the screws fastening them to the chassis had rusted from moisture and needed to be drilled out. It surprises me that Jenn-Air uses screws that rust in a product that should withstand occasional spills. Seems like a design defect. The repair man suggested that I use matches to ignite my high end cooktop. I emailed Jenn-Air. Their response - a form letter about how concerned they are about customer relations which included no hint of interest in my problem. I emailed back. No response.

One of the motivations for purchasing over $20k worth of Jenn-Air appliances was a rebate to reimburse installation charges. I filled out the rebate form, provided proof of purchase, serial #s, and made absolutely sure I included the separate invoice for installation. I later received an automatically generated post card from Jenn-Air stating that my submission is invalid because it didn't include a receipt for installation charges. I called them to straighten the situation out and the customer service agent literally just kept repeating over and over and over that I need to submit the receipt. To make matters worse, I have 2 weeks to get it to them (via mail) and have it processed prior to rebate deadline. During the 2-week time frame we have weather, Christmas and New Years to deal with. What a scam. No wonder Jenn-Air has fallen out of favor in recent decades. Why run a marketing campaign to lure customers and then piss them off? Stupid, stupid, stupid.

In April 2007, I purchased a Jenn-Air Dual-Fuel Double Oven Range, Model JDR8895AAS. I had bought insurance for this oven from a local appliance repair business in 2007, and as of 8 Dec 2013 (6 years, 8 months of ownership), this product has required servicing 4 times?! First problem - control panel inoperable ('fried'); repairman stated it was due to my using the 'heavy' self cleaning mode - heat fried panel (but Jenn-Air does not advise customers of this). Repairman advised use no more than 'medium' cleaning cycle (I did so). Second problem - convection fan in lower oven won't shut off? Same repairman showed up, replaced fan - no idea why fan failed?
Third problem - Now lower oven will not work in convection mode - same repairman arrived - replaced control panel Again?! Fourth problem - lower oven thermostat failed during baking bread. Six months prior to this fourth problem, I refused to renew insurance (premium increase of 100%,) I suspected a QA issue at this point - fourth problem confirmed it. Average oven life is 10-12 years, and this 'excellent' product had issues after 3 years, and 4 issues in 6.66 years??!! Calling Jenn-Air gets nothing other than recommendations to spend more money. Jenn-Air was purchased by Maytag - IMO Maytag SU***. Horrible product - I will not buy this product again, nor waste time dealing with Jenn-Air 'customer service.'

Bought a top of the line appliance, a fancy microwave oven and oven. Paid top dollar. It turned out to be junk. Had 3 service calls in the first year, then in the 14th month, it was the same thing again. For 2 months, their technicians came and left with no result. We haven't used our appliances for the last 2 months and Jenn-Air doesn't give a damn to their top clients. Word of advice - DO NOT BUY Jenn-Air junk, no matter how fancy it is. I will keep you all updated with my further updates in case they decide to fix their problems.

We bought a Jenn-Air slide in range in May of 2009. Since purchased, we've had the repairman work on it 5 times for the same part; an infinite switch. Each time I paid a service call of over $175. The last time, I called the Jenn-Air customer service and told them about the problem. He (Bryant), told me there's nothing they could do for me. I asked him who would be the next person to talk to. He refused to give me a name and told me he didn't have a phone number for me. Ridiculous!! A billion dollar company? Never again will I even think of purchasing this product line. I will keep trying. If anyone has any information that would help me, I would appreciate it.

We purchased a Jenn-Air Electric Range 9 years ago for $1200 and the clock never worked and now the touch pad does not work. If I want to bake something, it has to be at 100 degrees because the touch pad no longer works and CAN NOT BE REPLACED BECAUSE THE PART IS NOT AVAILABLE. What does that mean? What kind of a company makes an appliance but does not have the parts to replace when they die? From the reviews I have read, this is common with Jenn-Air. No part available which means I need to buy a new range if I am ever to cook again. Doesn't Maytag stand behind their products? All the customer service dept could tell us is that they were sorry! That is unacceptable! Be warned! I will never buy another Jenn-Air product.

I purchased a dishwasher, stove, and microwave in late September. The microwave was delivered damaged with both sides of the unit damaged. I refused to accept the delivery and it had to be replaced. The stove was acceptable when it was delivered. The dishwasher was delivered and had a leak. Jenn-Air, nor HHGregg, were willing to replace it. The technician indicates he "thinks he has it repaired". I am concerned about a leak damaging my wood floors. Jenn-Air refuses to discuss replacement of the "defective dishwasher". They are consistent from the initial contact all the way through their organization to President Jeff Fettig in that they hold the party line of "it has been repaired". They indicate they will not be responsible if a leak occurs and damages the wood floor.
