I bought a Hoover carpet cleaner (Turbo 50) less than a year ago for the purpose of cleaning 2 small area rugs and after about 6 times of usage I noticed the brushes not spinning. I did some research and this is a common defect with this item. I called Hoover who stated no receipt no luck. Typical company who won't back their product after getting your money. Item is junk. Do yourself a favor. Learn from me and put your money to another company.

That vacuum I have is Hoover's Sprint QuickVac and I like it because it is durable and you can see the tube where all the dust is collected so you know when to empty it. It doesn't get full too quickly. And it also has an indicator on top that turns red when it's time to rinse out the filter and empty the tube. It also has a powered brush roll.

The suction is good and I have only had to replace the belt a few times, which is from normal wear and tear and likely more often when my kids were starting to use it. It did well picking up fur from my collie mix dog, as well. The only thing I would change is making the head slimmer to fit under more things, but that is minor.

Calling this a pet vacuum is a joke. We have a German Shepherd that sheds a lot. I have to not only clean out the cup every few minutes, but also reach into the suction area to pull the hair out. It's a bad design - where the hair gets sucked in and down into the cup is not nearly enough room for it to pass through. Also, the attachments are hard to take on and off, and the collection cup and filter are too small. I previously owned the Hoover Air Cordless, but it stopped working, so my husband bought me the REACT Cordless Pet Vacuum for Christmas. The Air Cordless was far superior. It never got clogged; the collection cup was large; it had 2 large filters and 2 batteries! I truly miss it.

My usage is limited to a small living room only. In 3 months this stopped all of a sudden. Took it to a repair shop and he replaced the belt saying that the belt has a slight burn mark so it would have stopped. Then again in 2 days of getting it repaired it stopped working again. I ordered Hoover original belts from Amazon to replace the belt that I got 2 days ago and see if it works, but nope...it didn't work!!! I checked the suction hose which is clear and no blockage. I am very disappointed with this product.

I refused, and called back a week later to be told the same story, 2 weeks later I tried head office, a lady told me they don't fix things at head office, contact Best Buy and they will sort it out. I had already contacted them first, they said all warranty work is done by Hoover. We only fix things if you bought an extended warranty from us. We have a useless Hoover that we can't get fixed without driving a 100 miles at our expense, and there is no redress? My 2nd cleaner from Hoover the motor died 22 months. I replaced it with this. You can't even tell I cleaned the 5x5 foot area. I stopped cause why bother killing my back. The cons are you can't see the machine picking up, the spinning brushes don't do diddly squat (my last one had a roller brush which I believe picked up the pile and the cleaning solution therefore went into the carpet instead of laying the solution and rinse on the surface), it's heavier than the last machine.

Don't waste your money or time. This is my third and I'm returning it. Spent 2 hours on the phone with Hoover and they are the worst company I've ever dealt with. The drying heat is a nice addition as before I used 20 dry strokes and my carpet was dry usually 12-18 hours. The spin brushes are useless on their own. Or perhaps there aren't enough of them. The path is too narrow which means more effort to cover the same area as my older ones. I'm 5'4" and the handle is low even for me as well as the spray release gets in the way when trying to do dry strokes. I think I'm done with Hoover for good.

This morning I went to use the hose accessory part and the machine is not pumping water. I am now expected to drive 30 miles to an authorized repair store to find out what is wrong. This is the third time I am using the machine since purchase and I am extremely annoyed, this company deserves a minus 10 rating.

I called Hoover when I first purchased my BH50110 cordless vacuum cleaner because one of the batteries died, they sent me a new one right away. I called again last week because my vacuum won't stay on. I went through all of the troubleshooting with the rep over the phone. The problem is in the motor. She tells me I have a 5 year warranty -- but she can't send me the part directly. She wants me to take it to a service center and have them look at it, so they can diagnose it. Well didn't we just do that?? But here's the catch - You have to have your receipt for the warranty coverage. Good thing we paid on a credit card and I can get a bank statement for proof of purchase. The manufacture date code G14A tells them I am within warranty. Nothing like running through hoops to get this fixed! Poor customer service for Hoover.

I informed him that the closest service center was over an hour away, he didn't care and said that's where it needs to go to be serviced. I told him, "Thanks for your time but I will just return the item to the store and pick a different brand", he said, "Thanks for contacting Hoover." The Main issue causing the problem is hair and dirty getting clogged in the hose and the clear face inside just above the spinning brush. The hose connects at to sites from the base to the body of the vacuum and the end of the hose to the body or to vacuum attachments. The hose (which otherwise seems very high quality and made with good materials) has problems clogging at the base before entering the catch basin. Removing debris from the hose is challenging. Equally challenging and time consuming is the need to remove the pet hair and debris clogging the suction just above the spinning brush. Basically the "Pet" vacuum has trouble handling pet hair. There may not be a great solution except that the company could design and include a "pipe cleaner" type of device to unclog these areas. They need cleaning about every other use... So it's a resolution is quite needed.

Air lift deluxe vacuum - This vacuum needs to be recalled... First I have only had it for 6 months, it will be returned to Walmart today. First thing is the motor that spins the brush to actually clean your floors fast, stopped working correctly after using twice a day for 5 months, yes I've been using it for a month taking 30 min at a time. Going over the same spot over and over. Sometimes it works when it wants to and only when I'm pulling the vacuum backwards. I have to vacuum... And who wants to spend another $150 or more plus tax on a good vacuum when they just did a few months ago.

So anyways called Hoover, I was told to take it back to the store or to a repair center which is 30 min from my home. Well today the handle snapped off... WT heck. How does that even happen. I will just return this and get a different brand. Also the vacuum is not sold in stores anymore... I wonder why? Humm. Too many people returning the poorly made items.

I've read all about there being two models (of the Pet variety) but regardless of which belt I use it continues to break after two uses. I have also checked the things that enable the brush to roll and they are fine. I have noticed many others (on Amazon and elsewhere) seem to be in a twilight zone trying to find a belt that actually works for more than one or two uses. These things are not cheap when having to buy them every month or so. In September 2016 we purchased an awesome Hoover Sprint QuickVac Bagless Upright Vacuum, (UH20040 - Corded). Hands down, best vacuum we'd ever had -- and for under $40, best value we had ever seen! Beginning of December, it stopped working. We purchase and keep items literally for decades, and are very aware of best practices for maintenance. I read the manual, online troubleshooting, checked every inch for any clogs, but all was clean. We had emptied the collector and filter after every use, and had fewer than 60 minutes on the machine itself, with normal household use. I searched for Warranty repair options, and was given a local place to take it. Hoover - up to this point, your part was "stellar"!!

I took our sweeper, a copy of our receipt (dated), contact information to: Clean Sweep Vacuum And Sewing, 208 U.S. Hwy 1 N, North Palm Beach, FL 33408. A less than enthusiastic person received our sweeper and info, giving me a claims ticket. Said we'd get a call. After 4-5 weeks, I stopped by & was told it'll take 7-8 weeks.

After 8 weeks, I called but phone got cut off and my attempts to immediately redial was met with voice mail - several times. 9th week - I called, leaving yet another voicemail. I finally got a return call, telling me that my sweeper was clogged, therefore required repair, $40 for one part and that's when I stopped them from going further. Explaining that I looked through the sweeper, seeing no clog, I was told I wouldn't be able to see it. What? And I was told that my warranty had expired and that she had my receipt right there, so it would require repair anyway. I explained my purchase was September 2016, to which I was told was incorrect, and that until I called all they had was an address, which was why they didn't call.

Well USPS still operates, but no attempt to send a postcard was made either. So, I was to pay for repair I had not approved, and would not be able to receive my sweeper back unless I were to pay their bill, which was more than the sweeper itself! I told them to keep the damn thing, to which they replied, they'd throw it away. Right. I am sure it will show up in their showroom along with the other 150 used, repaired sweepers from other customers they have scammed the same way they scammed me. TAKE THIS PLACE OFF YOUR LIST!!! They represent you horribly!! I would have rather shipped my sweeper to China, paying shipping myself than to have dealt with the rudeness and lack of professionalism of this place! Now I'm out a great sweeper and 100% of my patience.

I live in Mexico. Bought Hoover Wind Tunnel 3 Pet Vacuum Cleaner about four years ago. After a few months it started making a loud noise and losing suction. No warranty centers in this area, so I brought it back to Costco and got another. After a few months the belt broke. Bought new belts for it through a friend visiting from the States. After a few more months the same thing happened as with the first one: loud noise and loss of suction, and also for no reason the hinge on the dirt cup broke. I corresponded with Hoover via email for a while, and sent photos of the machine's ID tag with serial and model numbers on it. Customer rep then asked me for a video so she could hear the noise for herself, and that's when I gave up. Asking for a video is absurd. We don't all have the means to provide one. If the company is going to sell its products in Mexico it has an obligation to provide a way to honor its warranty.

I have all the purchase information but I do not have the receipt for the purchase. I'm not super organized but I kept all of my warranties in a file. Cassandra told me I had to have the receipt for the warranty or else it is void. So I guess I'm SOL, next time I will buy a Bissell!

Dont waste your money. Within ONE HOUR of first use, the thing died. First let me state that the floor cleaning width is a joke (as is same with ALL newer vacs now. I am noticing they are MAYBE 10 inch and the amps were lowered to 9 or 10, NOT THE 12 all vacs used to have), so you have to make many more passes on a carpet/floor area. Next, the suction is horrible. I was doing the same AREA on carpet at least 3 times in order to get it clean. NO height adjustment for low pile/no pile carpet is part of the problem. The dust cup is very small, so you have to empty it more often. Very annoying/time consuming. NO EDGE CLEAN or handle height adjustment and the whole thing felt awkward to use/push.

Hoover has gone the way of all other brands though. Cheaply made product with less quality. The only GOOD feature: nice long cord. I wouldn't spend a dime for another 'NEW' hoover product. I have replaced it with a Bissell (I was fortunate to find an OLDER MODEL, wider cleaning path of 13 inches, super suction, easier to find and clean filters, LARGER capacity cup that also empties very simply, also with nice long cord and comparable price). Hoover... you have done a great disservice to former loyal consumers. Too bad you chose to go cheap instead of QUALITY and FUNCTION.

Two Hoover floormates have had the same problem in less than six months. First I bought a refurbished floormate in June this year from Walmart and after less than two months and very little usage one day I pushed the start button and the motor tried to start then died, then nothing. I thought that is what I get for buying refurbished and threw it away.

Apparently I don't learn from my mistakes. So off I went to another large retailer, Home Depot, and bought a new one. That was in August this year... it is now the middle of December and I went, once again to clean a very tiny area (doggie piddles), this thing has maybe cleaned 10 square feet ten times and that's a generous guess, and once again the starter tried to start the motor and like an old car it just died. Now I have the pleasure of taking it to be repaired at no cost to me, just the inconvenience. What a piece of garbage they are making. I bought two this year from two different retailers and both with the exact same malfunction! Obviously this is not rare. This is the last time I buy Hoover! I will provide an update if it ever gets fixed!

We had been very happy with the Flair Vacuum but when it broke I tried unsuccessfully to call Hoover's 1800 number. Never had a person answer but I agree with another caller that the classical music was enjoyable. Online I began a "chat" about the broken vacuum and wanted to know if parts were available to repair it ourselves. The operator typed that he could not understand my question and could only tell me to contact a repair store and abruptly ended our "chat." Needless to say that he didn't even say "goodbye." My assumption is that the operator was not capable in English and for that reason could not understand the question. I suggest that Hoover hire operators who have passed a customer training AND English course. We'll be replacing it with a non-Hoover product. I grew up with the Hoover name so it is sad and frustrating.

After nearly 40 years of using a Hoover Vacuum Cleaner, I am very dissatisfied with the design changes made in the hose and handle of canister models produced after Hoover was sold to Hong Kong-based Techtronic Industries. Two problems: 1) VERY POOR AND CHEAP CHOICE OF MATERIALS for the hose. I received my S3670 Wind Tunnel as a Christmas gift in 2013; it's hose is made of stiff plastic. It's like trying to clean with piece of jagged PVC attached to the wand. The outer tubing grinds away at corners on my furniture or walls as it passes; it doesn't twist and turn with my movements and it doesn't protect the wiring between the engine and the wand. I had to replace the hose after only 2 years of normal to light use at a cost of $80 because the internal wiring broke.

The pre-2006 USA-made models incorporated a durable and flexible-like-fabric material which never had these failures! I kept my old vacuum from the 1980's and even though it is consigned to the sporadic car and garage jobs, it is still a pleasure to use. 2) BAD DESIGN ON THE HAND GRIP. Who did you think was going to use your vacuum cleaners? André the Giant? The Hand Grip is far too large for a lady's grasp and ergonomically speaking (and I am a classical pianist; ergonomics matter!!) it is very awkward... forcing your hand into an uncomfortable angle. I have to walk away from cleaning after no more than 15 minutes so that I can massage my muscles out of a cramp.

The muscles to which I am specifically referring are the Lumbrical of the index finger, the Adductor pollicis, the Flexor pollicis brevis, Abductor pollicis brevis and the Opponens pollicis. I usually end up using both hands on the handle or trying to use the machine while avoiding the hand grip. It's really too bad that you were so foolish to shave off a few dollars in the cost of construction of this machine because I will, in the future, go out of my way to avoid purchasing any other appliance from Techtronic. (By the way, you ought to remove the "Hoover" name from your products. Own up to your own work and don't run down the reputation of folks who made excellent vacuum cleaners for 98 years.)

I reached them and was told this was a warranty issue and they could not replace the machine until the warranty review phase was completed. I asked how long this would take and was told, 3 to 6 weeks and they would be repairing the machine, not replacing it. I also noticed when in the service center there were at least three more of the same machines in for repair. First machine - I used it 3 times. Initially, it was leaking water already and the lever to keep it upright was broke so the machine wouldn't stand up. I fixed that part but not the slow leak from the water tank. So back to my 3rd time cleaning, it made a bizarre sound like when the belt breaks in a vacuum cleaner so when I took the bottom off belt was fine but the metal post that it rolls around on, it's surrounding plastic and it had spun into itself and was completely melted and in the wrong spot. I only live in a small apartment, and I vacuumed before I cleaned. So it was gone for at least 5 weeks and when I go pick it up he tells me he told them to give me a new for a fresh start. Got one cleaning done. Cleaned it out with water like I normally do, you just pour a cup or 2 of water on the kitchen floor and let it suck it and it is suppose to keep it in good shape.

So got to use it about 3 weeks later, turn it on and the engine tries to start and just shut off, dead. Lovely, I just got it back. Now it's going to be about 6 months into my warranty and I've been able to use it 4 times and it's going to be gone again another 6 weeks. Take it in. Guy calls me the next day and said they "kicked it back" denied it. "Why?" I asked. He says "I don't know" so I got no callback yesterday. When you call them the recording asks you if you'd rather have a callback then wait on hold. I had already waited 30 minutes. So no callback yesterday. So called again. Took too long again so requested another callback and I'm waiting.

DO NOT BUY THIS CARPET CLEANER. TOO SMALL AND FRAGILE. Can't handle being rolled to the next room. It might break, so you better carry it! ACTUALLY DON'T BUY FROM HOOVER. Can't believe I spent over $100 on a machine that states has a year warranty, and I'm being denied my warranty with no reason.

I bought it right before moving in here which is exactly a year now. The brush head has broken off twice now and again I don't have a lot to vacuum. Before that I've had issues with the batteries staying connected to the vacuum. Any little bump like you hit into a table, it will shut the vacuum. As for their customer service, they replaced the brush head for me once but they were very rude and acted like they were doing me a favor since that piece was not under warranty. Less than a year and they gave me a problem about replacing a horribly made major piece of this machine. Even before any issues, this vacuum is very weak!

I'm 40 and have had a bunch of vacuums. This was by far the most expensive and the absolute worst I've ever had. I don't even have a dog. Anyone in the market please read this. Horrible warranty, no suction, bad customer service and made out of plastic and glue. If I could share a picture I would. DO NOT BUY THIS VACUUM!

So a year after buying this vacuum I now have to buy another one tomorrow... Thank you Hoover! Never again! This is a defective vacuum. They can send me a third replacement brush head which they haven't offered yet but same thing will keep happened. This is an awful vacuum. It is UNreliable and incredibly inefficient. You have to empty the dusty canister every time you use it and clean the filter every couple of times you use it or it doesn't have enough suction to pull even light things out of the carpet or off of the floor. It shuts off after only a couple of minutes of use due to the motor overheating and it takes an hour before it will start again. It automatically does that and there's nothing you can do about it.

Hoover sent me to a vacuum repair store called Starks Vacuum Repair and they confirmed that the vacuum is a complete piece of garbage. They recommended getting a bag vacuum because they work better. They said they could take the motor apart under the warranty but I realized that this vacuum would always be more hassle than it was worth. A couple more things: The canister is a dusty, dirty affair to empty with a dust dispersion -- goes everywhere and you have to replace a $25 filter twice a year as well. Can you say RIP-OFF? Yeah, that's what this vacuum is. Get a vacuum with a bagged system instead. They are way better.

Windtunnel T Series - This is about the worst vacuum I've used in DECADES! The cord placement is stupid. It's so low that if you give even a little slack, you end up stepping on the cord while trying to vacuum which jerks it right out of your hand! The vacuum bag is next to impossible to put on! The vacuum is too heavy for what little suction it has. The on board tools are OK but the minute you put an attachment on the hose, the suction goes nuts and shrinks the hose to nothing so now you have to fight with one hand to hold the vacuum from ramming you and everything around you while you try to vacuum with one hand.

I've had many vacuums over the last 30 years and this one is a HUGE disappointment! I wish I had my old, smelly, Panasonic back! At least it had a motor that could suck up particles from 5 feet away! This one I have to go over things two and three times and it was a beard hair from my husband. How the hell hard is that to pick up? I'm ticked that I'm stuck with this thing that's hard to use and makes a crappy job even harder! I should have gotten the vacuum I wanted but this one was cheaper... YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!

I'm a 90s baby, back in the day Hoover was a lot better with the build quality on mass production vacuums. They actually lasted more than a year. They sometimes broke down but the crap they are trying to sell for $100 sucks. They need to do some R&D and use better materials to make the motors that don't overheat and the cheap plastic build is a joke up the price on the product or something and make a name for your company. Until something changes I will never purchase a Hoover again. Dyson here I come. IDC if I have to pay $500 for a quality vacuum that will last a couple years.

Geezz your image is for sure changing. I've owned over 5 Hoovers in my life but the WindTunnel 1 may be my last. No progress has been made on the WindTunnel 3. It's a piece of turd, cheap plastic, overheating junk. Fix your product up the price and change components. You're lucky to not get sued because it seems a lot of people are having the same problem.

I purchased a Hoover Steam Vac Model No. F7452900 on 9/25/13 through Amazon and have only used it few times to clean carpet in my home and the carpet floor mats in my cars. Just as the warranty period ended, my steam vac began randomly shutting off for no reason. I took it to an authorized service center who got it going by tapping on the motor. They contacted Hoover who said there was nothing that they would do for me. It still acts up, but I never know when or for how long. The service tech told me to use as is and that it might last a week or couple of years.

I purchased my 1st Hoover steam vac Model No. F7425900 in Sept 2004 and it lasted nearly 10 years before the motor went out. I kept a lot of the plastic parts as spares as my previous machine required many of the plastic parts, such the water supply tank valves, hose nozzle and attachments to be replaced over the years. I noticed that my latest model appears to be constructed cheaper than the earlier one. For instance, Hoover considerably shortened the cord on the newer model, which is hardly adequate. What a disappointment that I only got a couple of uses out of this machine. Time to look for a better built machine.

I purchased a brand new Hoover Vacuum Model #UH 70400 WindTunnel 3. I contacted Hoover @ VacPartsWarehouse.com. The problem with the vacuum is that it has no height adjustment so when you go over a carpet it stops dead. You literally cannot push the vacuum one inch. Hoover parts warehouse suggestion was for myself to check the bottom of the vacuum for a missing wheel! Their next idea was to clean the front bottom plate. Other than that they told me was all the adjustment there was for the vacuum. Just when they sounded like they might help me. I suggested sending me a comparable make of vacuum and I would send this one back. They cried foul. "We're just a parts warehouse." Then why are you sending out remedies to fix people's vacuums?

This is such an engineering flaw with this vacuum. It should not even be for sale. How are you supposed to vacuum your house if you cannot even go across the carpet. They then started playing the corporate blame game by passing myself to another department. I decided this vacuum is such a dead duck in the water and Hoover knows it that I would try to spread the word to other consumers to stay away from Hoover UH 70400 Windtunnel 3.

Hoover won't send us parts to fix them, our customers are phoning us wondering how long - very pissed off." I thought the guy was joking. Apparently not, this is not fair. We bought our Hoover Wind Tunnel vacuum only five years ago. It was, at the time, one of two Hoover uprights... one for the downstairs and one for the 2nd floor so that I didn't have to carry these fairly heavy machines up and down. And, as a result, it got much less "wear and tear." But after five years of vacuuming two rooms once a week, the "power drive" assist no long worked, the rug height button would not remain on the setting, the rotator brush stopped spinning and there was a burning odor when I tried to "readjust" the setting and use. Only good thing was it still kept its suction, but using it became impossible.

We don't think this should have happened so soon. Rather than spend $100 plus to fix it I will buy another Shark (replaced older Hoover which also died young with Shark). Sad to say Hoover lost our faith... and our business. We owned a canister Compact vacuum cleaner for 25 years and when we gave it away it was still working!

Had the WindTunnel 3 for approx 9 months and lower self propel motor stopped working. Took it apart and noticed the lower motor casing was a little rusty. In fairness I can't really blame Hoover, the cat water bowl is close to the carpet on the tile and what I think happened was a little water got sucked up now and again and eventually shorted the motor. What is potentially a design flaw is the proximity of the motor to the roller and its height above it, or lack thereof. So be warned, liquid will get near the motor via the brushes gap where the belt leads back to it - do not use this vacuum near even a millimeter pool! I rank it dissatisfied as these smaller motors are in my opinion more susceptible to failure than the older ones, my older Hoover lasted years in the same environment.

Being extremely confused by this I e-mailed their customer services to ask which head I needed for my machine. They confirmed it was the one I thought was right. I ordered it and it arrived within a few days. Unfortunately, the attachment was far too big to fit the metal extension tube from my machine. I contacted Hoover and attached some photographs showing the difference in size. They then asked me to describe the packaging the part arrived in and for the diameters of the attachments. I was told that their engineers just could not understand why it wouldn't fit.

I offered to take the whole thing to the head office at Merthyr Tydfil, (about ten miles from me), or to let one of their service engineers (at my expense, if proven wrong) to call at my house to inspect the goods. Both requests were ignored. After having several e-mails unanswered I e-mailed not only my customer support contact but also CCd the MD, (Thank you Linkedln) asking why I was being treated as either a liar or an idiot. It seemed to get some result.

I was sent a new turbo brush and a new metal extension tube. The brush fitted the new extension tube perfectly; unfortunately, the new extension tube didn't fit my machine! The wrong parts have now been collected and, after over two months, I have my money back. I now have a Hoover that will not pick up pet hairs or anything that may be slightly entwined into the carpet. I have had this vacuum for 2 weeks after the 90-day warranty period with Walmart and I was vacuuming today and it just stopped. No power. Changed plugs and NO POWER. I have only used it 9 times and I cannot believe that it stopped working. I have tried to connect to the Hoover site and get some troubleshooting points and there is nothing available. I can't get my money back nor can I exchange it for another vacuum. I am really upset and I will contact Hoover to see if they will either refund my money or replace this device. I would say most of the reviews that I now have read are true. This is a really GREAT vacuum for a VERY SHORT time. Not Happy!!

They told me they could not get the part but someone would ring me later that day. Rang them on the 12th, told me to email proof of purchase which I did. I rang on the 14th, told me they had not received email so I sent it again. Now the resolutions team was sorting it. I have had to phone them back and forth and still no further forward. It's now the 21st and someone is going to ring me with details for exchange. Won't hold my breath. I will NEVER EVER buy another HOOVER vacuum. Nothing but trouble. I think you really need to address the problem of changing the sweeper belt. I've been a faithful Hoover advocate for 58 years despite having an in-law with Electrolux. The older models were customer friendly when it came to changing the belt. When my husband was alive, I would have him do it and he agreed with my assessment. Since he died, I have to lug the sweeper into my car and take it to a sweeper repair shop and pay to have it done. I've discussed this with friends and they experience the same problems. Kindly advise if there is an easier and less expensive way to do this. Thank you. I don't require an attorney to contact me.

I ordered this item from Macy's online in approximately October 2010. Three months later, the vacuum, having some kind of whistle sound, suddenly stopped working. Immediately, I called Macy's. I was angry for the bad item. They replaced and sent me a new vacuum. We do not vacuum frequently. The new vacuum is not working anymore. It started with some kind of weird whistling. I was vacuuming the living room. I did not have time to finish because suddenly, it stopped working. I checked the connection. I thought that I accidentally unplugged it. I checked and everything was okay. The cable still connected, I unplugged and plugged into another outlet. It's definitely dead.

It is clear that Hoover is making some kind of garbage products that not only are expensive but also the worst quality. It is impossible that an item that has not much use, and I keep it clean after using, suddenly twice ended under the same problem. I do not understand why Hoover is still in business and why Macy's offers this bad quality item to people. I want to get a new brand vacuum because it's not acceptable that in less than two years, same item shows same defective problems. This item made by Hoover should not be displayed anywhere because of their bad quality. So what to do, lose my money and lose the item?

Hoover Wind Tunnel Pro - My husband bought me a new vacuum when the old one was no longer meeting our needs. We had a new carpet installed and carpet replaced. It does work well but I have three complaints: 1. Too many levers and switches, even though most of them are foot pedals. (Is this lever the cord rewind, the carpet height adjuster, the bare floor switch, or the on/off switch? Oh sorry, that was the switch that releases the hose.); 2. Is it so totally impossible to make a hose connection that I can just detach, use and put back? To use the attached hose, you must first detach it, then add the connecting tubes, then add the brush or corner tool, or whatever, then use it. This is a minor issue, but I don't want to rebuild my vacuum every time I use it. And the connector that keeps the tubes from retracting does not work well at all; and 3. My main complaint is the thing is too heavy! It is like pushing a load of bricks no matter what settings you have it on. I think I will pass on Hoover products in the future.

I have had the vacuum cleaner for two months. It is almost impossible to push along the floor and in two months, it has burned out 2 belts. The second belt was purchased as an emergency (non-Hoover) as no local stores stock this belt. I explained to Hoover Services that the belts were burning out first; they blamed the fitting. When I explained the first was factory fitted, she then said I had run over something and the second had snapped as it wasn't a genuine Hoover part. She asked me to pay nearly £20 for 2 new belts. Another problem is that the Hoover has an extra-long lead, but the hooks to wrap it around are obviously for a shorter lead and insufficient to hold all the lead securely. A shoddy machine and even shoddier customer service.

For those that are stalling out with the rug attachment, read ASAP! I'd start off by saying I had high hopes for this Hoover Canister Vac (model S3765). Like others here, first the rugbeater started stalling out. It turns out it is faulty wiring. I know this how? Because the thing nearly lit my couch on fire! I was vacuuming under the couch and heard a loud bang! I pulled out the vacuum immediately to find sparks flying from the thing. I couldn't pull the plug fast enough! Of course, Hoover customer service was useless. So a friend took a peek at it and the wiring was absolutely fried in the outside wiring between the handle and the rugbeater. So friend gets it working again. (Yes, he's an electrician.) It worked for another two months.

In the meantime, now it's not turning on at all. Hoover keeps saying check the belts. What belts? It doesn't turn on with or without the rugbeater attachment. The thing imploded on itself (outside of warranty of course), nearly lit my house on fire, electrocuted me, and now won't come on at all. And Hoover is telling me to check the belts in the rugbeater and replace the filters. (Okay, I did do that.) Never and I mean never again. I tell the company that their product nearly kills me and they have no reply but the cookie cutter, not their problem answer.

Okay, I want them repaired, and made the trip. The "authorized" dealer, then asked me for proof of purchase (previously provided to Hoover Customer Service), so I faxed it to them. Following up on the status of the repairs two days later, at that time I was told the way Hoover handles warranty repairs, is that the shop identifies the problem, then notifies Hoover, which then ships the parts, and the shop makes the repairs and would notify me after receipt of the parts. They also said it takes several weeks.

The clog was a combination of dog fur, silt, and debris. The bagless system is extremely messy to clean by rinsing the dirt cup areas with water and waiting 24 hours for it to dry. The only good thing is the HEPA filter is washable and doesn't have to be replaced with a $15 part. The suction leaks through the rewind cord opening, reducing the vacuum's power (poor design). I took it to the Hoover repair shop and they replaced the motor and the part that's supposed to shut the machine off when it overheats.

I was meticulously diligent about cleaning the filters to the point that I began doing it every day after I vacuumed, which was a pain in itself, since there are so many of them. I called the Hoover Company and spoke to their customer service, who referred me to someone in their corporate offices. I fully expected them to either pay for another repair or provide me with a refurbished vacuum, since I had paid over $200 for this machine and only had it a little over a year. Instead, they offered me a credit on a new machine of the same make and model. By this time I knew I had a lemon and didn't want the same make and model.

Previous to this, I had been a loyal Hoover customer, having owned Hoover vacs since the 1970s. In 30 years I had only needed to purchase two vacuums, so that tells you how good the brand was. But these new Windtunnels are terrible and Hoover no longer has good customer service.

So, after 40 years, I am no longer a Hoover customer and you know what? They don't give a hoot. So much for quality products and pride in giving good customer service anymore. Shame, shame, shame.

I will never buy a Hoover again and will not recommend it. I had to go buy a another vacuum cleaner and I am out $165.00 for this worthless Hoover. I'm stuck with a worthless vacuum cleaner that Hoover should repair.

I went to the authorized dealer who informed me that it takes months to get parts from Hoover. I contacted Hoover who referred me to other dealers with no avail. I contacted Hoover again and they gave me more authorized dealers. I had no luck. This is by far the worst vacuum I have ever owned. I am in the process of buying another and it will definitely not be a Hoover product. They used to be reputable. What happened? I am a senior citizen on a fixed income, so this is difficult but I need a vacuum. Thank you for letting me air my complaint.

On 09/17/2008 my husband and I purchased a self-propelled Hoover Windtunnel vacuum from Sam's Club. It was highly recommended by Consumer Reports and that seemed like a very good place to check. About a month ago, while vacuuming, a little black piece broke off and came shooting out from under the vac. At that precise moment it was no longer self-propelled. There was no suction, the beater bar wouldn't turn and the only way it could be turned off was to pull the plug. It has been reduced to nothing more than an electrified noise maker and heaven knows we don't need more of that. I have taken it to a repair shop and the cost of repair is $112.50, which is more than half the original cost. Two things have been learned: Don't rely solely on the recommendation of Consumer Reports and most importantly beware of Hoover Vacuums. Check all reviews very carefully. I wish we had!

I talked to a "customer service" person who said she would not sell me the part, and they would only sell it to a dealer. Needless to say, I was not happy to find, that I would need to pay someone and make a trip to a service center, for a cheap plastic replacement part. It is very unprofessional, and I will certainly be looking for a more reputable company, for my next upright. Say a more "upright company!"

In April of 2007, I purchased a Hoover WindTunnel Technology upright vacuum for $248 from Lowes in Enid, Oklahoma. I had the vacuum for approximately 1 year when I had to have the off/on switch replaced, at a Hoover store, that cost around $20. A year later, I again had to have the off/on switch replaced again at the same Hoover dealership. It cost around $40. Now I have had it home for approximately 6 months and again the off/on switch is not working. I have to unplug it from the outlet to stop it. I am afraid to take it to the same dealership in Woodward to have another switch put in it.

This will probably cost $60 this time since it seems to go up $20 each time I take it in. This seems to be a problem with this vacuum. I think Hoover needs to replace everyone who bought this product. I am over 60 years old and it is a lot of work to load the heavy vacuum into the car and out again at the repair shop, in addition to the cost of repair!

We have owned Hoover upright vacuum cleaners for many years. Within the past year, we purchased a Hoover Wind-tunnel Anniversary edition upright vacuum cleaner. Recently, the plastic hoses have cracked with a vertical crack and upon taking them into the Hoover, required vacuum cleaner repair shop, were told that the damage was from stepping on them, not from the plastic failing.

It is clear that the plastic used by Hoover is substandard and cracks after less than a year of use. I would hope that anyone reading this would avoid purchasing Hoover vacuums as the quality has definitely decreased over the years. I am most disappointed with Consumer Reports who top-rated this vacuum cleaner in part because of the extended warranty which the Hoover company most definitely does not stand behind. I expected better from Consumer Reports and it is unfortunate that they didn't check with consumers to find out how difficult it is to get any warranty work done on Hoover vacuum cleaners.

I turned off the vacuum and took off the nozzle. There was a flame in the nozzle which immediately went out. The connection is now melted and ruined.

I called Hoover and they said that I'd have to take it to a local repair shop to see if it was still under warranty. They didn't take any note of who I was or what exactly happened. I thought they should be a little more concerned about their product starting on fire under normal use. After all, they are dealing with a recall on another product for similar problems.

I'm just thankful the flame extinguished itself when I opened the connection. Not cool.

Returned to the service center in Knoxville, TN and the owner told me he would give me a new one, exact same machine, it wasn't. Not by a long shot.

I have used other vacuums over the decades, but always went back to Hoover. Does anyone know what has happened? Did the company change hands, do they have no quality control dept, or do they just not care? I hope someone receives answers to their questions. I surely haven't describe: I have dropped a lot of money on vacuums over the past five years and still don't have one that works. Forget the money, time wasted, messes made, trips to service center! They only sell it as a complete hood assemble costing $25 which I feel is highway robbery! They sell other parts like screws, filters and other parts of the machine without having to buy a complete assemble.

The plastic cover I need is mounted on the hood with 3 simple Phillips screws and it is probably the first part a consumer would order since it is easily damaged. I feel the company is taking advantage of the consumer with the part, having it only available as a sub-assemble. I called Hoover to address the following issues: The main body broke into pieces, cleaner tank fell apart, sprayer broke in half and collection tank broke. I was directed to take the cleaner to a Hoover Service Center which is 50 miles (round trip) from my residence, which I did. After a month, I was told by the Hoover Service Center that a replacement was available. I drove the 50 miles again and was presented with a new, out of the box, broken cleaner (broken main body). The Hoover Service Center identified the problem, but did not tell me until after I drove the 50 miles. I did not take the broken cleaner.

Another month went by and I called Hoover. I was told that a replacement was being sent the following day. I requested that it be sent to my residence, but Hoover refused. Eight days after the cleaner was shipped by Hoover, the Hoover Service Center still does not have the cleaner. I paid over $400 for this cleaner. My rugs are dirty.
