The WORST ever!!! The WORST customer service I have ever experienced. Never buying from Hoover ever again & will always discourage people from buying. Still waiting on my refund, going on 10 weeks now. I have only gotten the run around & passed on to other people. I mean is this company BROKE?? What is $242.44 to a million dollars company. Not to mention I had to pay $50 just to ship it back & deal with a headache. I should have just kept the vacuum & never dealt with HOOVER ever again in my life. I’m telling EVERYONE about my experience. This is definitely NOT like NORDSTROM’S EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE. Very disappointing!!! And they still want me to wait another 4-6 weeks bring the total of weeks to 15 weeks just for a return. I have ALL my receipts to back up my claims.

I contacted Hoover again and a very condescending company again refused to stand by their product!!

I purchased from Amazon a Hoover steam vac. When it broke, I contacted the extended warranty people. They said it was under manufacturer's warranty. I contacted Hoover, and after many copies of the transaction and three weeks of waiting, they said it was sold by an "unauthorized reseller" (Amazon! Really?) and would not honor the warranty. Avoid these products like the plague.

This is the very worst company I have ever dealt with. I bought a product that did not do what they said it would do, so the next day decided to return it, followed their instructions for the return, cost me $43.90 to return it, have all my return receipts and they would not refund our money, we called the credit card company and they are fighting the credit card company, I now have to send all receipts and copies to my credit card company to fight them, they want it sent priority mail another $10.00 to do that. Amazon never, ever gives you a hard time, do yourself a favor and DO NOT DEAL WITH HOOVER VACUUM CLEANERS ONLINE... STAY WITH AMAZON AND YOU WILL NEVER HAVE A PROBLEM....

The worst customer service ever. I purchase the vacuum from this company. It came with broken charger. I called customer service with hope that they send me good one. No way! You made claim in one department. Then you wait for the few days for email that states that company is ready to accept the broken part. Promised to send prepaid label in 24 hours. Few 24 hours passed after their email. I still have not received it. I guess it has to be some kind of responsibility from seller’s side. For the couple weeks I can not use my vacuum. And now I am waiting for prepaid label to send it back. Even do not want to think how much time they need to send a new one. Absolutely disrespectful and irresponsible company. Very dissatisfied with their service.

I bought the Hoover Smartwash shampooer 2 years ago and used it once. I loved how the shampooer moved forward to dispense the shampoo and then moved backward to vacuum, very easy to use. However, now it does not work and the technicians cannot get parts to repair it. Their warranty is for 5 years, and I still have the receipt. I've tried contacting customer support, but they will not respond. I called during their "contact" hours, but they say they are not open and then they hang up, so you can't leave a message. I've tried the chat box online during contact hours, but they come back with "Sorry, I didn't understand that" and say they do not have an agent available because they are only open between 8 am and 8 pm EST, which when I contacted them, it was, indeed between those hours. I will never buy another Hoover product.

My family always has Hoover products when they used to be in North Canton, OH, so I bought a vacuum and shampooer from them. As any vacuum does, the belt broke. Should be an easy fix. Then figuring out the correct belt EVEN with the correct model number was an impossibility! Walmart sent wrong belt. On line said the #190 belt was correct...WRONG!. Tried calling "customer service" which was closed at 4pm! The chat box on their website was useless with "I don't understand" replies. So, they were having a Father's Day sale, 20% off! Was not given the discount while ordering. Had I known how impossible it is to get parts (thought Sears was bad), I would have never bought Hoover. BEWARE - much better choices out there!

I purchased a Hoover windtunnel vacuum and after 5 months of very limited use, the motor burned out. Finding parts and having this machine repaired is next to impossible. The parts are cheap and made in China. Hoover is not the company it once was. Customer service actually never called me back during the time I was inquiring into information on the warranty for repair. My local small business repair shop informed me that repairing a Hoover was not likely due to the unavailability of parts. Even if I wanted to pay out of pocket it was not going to get fixed. My advice is to not buy from big box office stores and find a local retailer that will sell you a machine that they stand by. Please do not buy a Hoover vacuum. You will most definitely regret it.

The nice lady walked me through how to get the water to dispense and nothing. She emails me instructions to open a claim. I emailed them the receipt and then, Heather emails stating she needs a video to show what’s not working. Sent that and no response. They also determined the battery was defective. Because I don't have a receipt, nor can I get one, they offered to sell me a new battery at 20% off of full retail. How generous! Attempted to contact customer service through their website, email, and phone. Waited over two weeks and was on hold countless times, but still could not get any support. Then to add insult to injury, if we want to do a return, we'd have a pay a shipping fee (~$40-60) for a product that never actually worked. 1) Go get a different brand, 2) If it must be Hoover, then go through another seller.

Since this is my 4th Hoover stick vac, I decided to buy direct from Hoover instead of Amazon where you can return any defective merchandise. The links included in their emails are incorrect, the online chat disconnects after you've waited sometimes over 30 minutes (I've now had 4 case #s which are not referred back to, and although I've now read elsewhere that consumers have had this problem, the company wants me to video the problem happening. So I once again get to vacuum and have the dirt cup fall off, spilling dirt all over my shoes and the floor I just cleaned. And according to many others, I will probably then get to jump through many more hoops, pay to return it, and never see my money. Boo Hoover!!

I purchased a Hoover upright cordless vacuum cleaner 1 year ago and 2 additional batteries. The vacuum cleaner was mainly purchased to clean my hardwood floors. Been working great for 1 year. Now the unit is leaving scuff marks on my floor from the rubber wheels. I have cleaned the wheels with the hoover cleaning solution, checked for any debris on the wheels, etc. There is nothing on these wheels that is causing the scuff marks other than worn out wheels or possible when turning the mechanism is no longer aligned thus grabbing the floor leaving the scuff marks. I have been through 2 chats with Hoover and both of them indicated to me that this is not a warranty issue that when I use the vacuum cleaner I should "simply" go behind the unit after I am done, and hand clean the scuff marks! I almost died when they said that to me.

I called them and got a live agent and guess what, they said the same thing to me. When I asked to speak to a supervisor the person hung up on me. This is a company with horrible customer service so beware before purchasing a Hoover unit - God help you if you have a problem. I contacted one of their listed service centers off of the Hoover website only to find out that they no longer are a hoover service center because they REFUSE to deal with Hoover. If this does not tell you something than re-read this thread and proceed with caution when purchasing a hoover vacuum cleaner.

The vacuum chewed up a couple of good size chunks of the vinyl floor. After contacting Hoover customer support they advised to take pictures of the damaged area & send the vacuum in. Both were sent in 12/12/22. Recently in Feb 2023 we received notification that the claim was denied. Now we are left with a chewed up floor, Hoover KEPT the vacuum without offering a refund or damages reimbursement- a rep could have come out to evaluate the damage but Hoover elected to do nothing beside reject the claim. I bought a Hoover Windtunnel in 2021 at Kohl's. I used it only a few times since it is too bulky. In Sept 2022 there was suction only from the hose, not the floor plate. Cust Serv said I did not have the cord extended far enough, or maybe too far. "That model was temperamental." In Oct. I called again with the same problem. When I said the brushes were not spinning, they said I must need a new belt and they would send me one. It never arrived, although they did send an email showing it was sent. In Nov. I called again. This time I received the belt that they sent out. I replaced the belt and the vacuum seemed to work for a short test run.

In Dec. I tried again. After just a few minutes, the belt started smoking and melted. Because I did not have the original receipt, they could only offer me a one-time courtesy 20% discount towards a new machine. Why would I waste my money when their Customer Service is so bad? Note: There are 2 different 800-numbers to call Customer Service. Each one says the office is closed and to call back between 8-5, even though I am calling at 3 pm.

Purchased a SmartWash Hoover product six months ago. Used less than 5 times. It already isn't working properly and Hoover said it was not covered under warranty because it was used in an apartment, which is a "commercial/business" setting. This was never mentioned prior to purchase, but the customer service agent said it's in the manual, and that using another brand of soap would disqualify a warranty as well. I don't think many people read through the manual when they purchase a product assuming that manufacturers will stand behind their products for normal usage (less than 5 times seems less than normal to me). I am surprisingly disappointed because my opinion prior was that Hoover was a good brand to purchase for vacuums and vacuum products.

The second time I tried to use it was July 2021, it water spewing everywhere and what looks like wet dryer lint getting shot everywhere. If you do not notice this lint stuff you scrub it into your carpet which is incredibly hard to get it back out. Contacted Hoover, they made me go through all these hoops to get a replacement.

Mind you this product I only had 4 months. After Hoover made me jump through all these hoops I finally got a replacement the end of July 2021. When I used this the first time it worked okay. 7 months later I went to use it again and it started again wet lint started shooting everywhere. I contacted Hoover again. I said I wanted my money back. I was told that they would go up higher in the chain to see if they would consider giving me a refund. I never got a call me back. What they did was give me the run around until the warranty expired and now I have to buy a new carpet cleaner cause the part's almost just as much as a new carpet cleaner. I will never buy Hoover again. Not only does their customer service sucks but the carpet cleaner was trash too. The plastic front piece started coming off after a couple months and still can't get Hoover to sent me a new one.

And no, it's not plugged up as I checked that while I was changing the belt. And it does not move easily. I'm sorry, but I shouldn't feel like I just worked out for the last 2 hours just from trying to vacuum a living room floor! I can't understand how you have been around for 100 years with such crappy customer service and garbage product. I will never even consider spending another penny on your useless equipment! I contacted support. I sent an attached receipt and filled out all the info needed and never heard anything back. Your customer service is nonexistent. I literally bought this in August of 2021. As a professional in the manufacturing and customer service industry, I understand the demands and challenges of the current staffing/supply chain. This, however, is not the existing problem with Hoover. Several months ago, I have placed an online order for a replacement reservoir for the floor scrubber I own. After a few weeks, I received an automated email advising they were experiencing delays in the warehouse, so I patiently waited a few more weeks understanding the current staffing and supply chain issues.

After about 2 months I emailed the customer service asking about my part, since they took the payment immediately (typically companies don't actually charge your card until they ship). I was told via email on 9/29/2021 that my order is shipping on 9/30/2021 (the next day). I didn't receive my part so I called the customer service number on October 8 to follow up on my shipment and she told me that my order is going to ship on October 11 and that I can call back for the Fed Ex tracking number.

On October 14 I called back as suggested and spoke with rep, Danielle, (coincidentally the same rep as in the original email who told me it shipped on 9/30) and she told me that my part is "shipping on the next day" again, October 15. So at this point I realized that's their standard deflection statement and asked to speak with the supervisor.

The "supervisor" came on the phone (and I seriously doubt by her unprofessional tone that she actually was a supervisor, rather just pass the phone to someone else game). I asked her to call the warehouse and confirm the shipment as I needed this item by Saturday, October 16 and I ordered it several months ago.. More than enough time to receive by my required date. She told me that they DO NOT have the ability to call the warehouse. She told me that "they, just like everyone else, is back up due to supply chain." I advised her that I would have believed that IF the previous customer service people hadn't already told me that the item IS in stock and at the warehouse and is just awaiting to be labeled and shipped Fed Ex.

I ship and receive FED EX every single day. Fed ex is not part of the supply chain back up of imports. The warehouse is in Tennessee and I live in Illinois. It's a 1-day ground shipment. I further told her that it's deplorable that they would LIE to their customers and give them fake excuses that "it's shipping tomorrow". I told her to credit my account and instead the "check's in the mail tomorrow". So I asked her to cancel the order and credit my account immediately. She said she would process the cancel and credit my account after receiving confirmation the order was cancelled.

I asked "what does that mean? How long will we have to wait for that confirmation... "tomorrow?" over and over again? Clearly, you can't be trusted with your timeframe." She said "I can get that today, as soon as I call the warehouse to confirm the cancellation." WAIT, WHAT? I told her "not 3 minutes ago, you just told me you did not have the ability to call the warehouse to check on my order but you have the ability to cancel it???" I told her I want to see my credit on my account immediately because she has a computer. If they could take the payment immediately from my account, they can process the return the same way. Today is October 21. I have NOT received my credit, nor confirmation of cancellation, nor the item. HOOVER REFUSES TO SHIP AND REFUSES TO CANCEL/CREDIT YOUR ACCOUNT. I cannot believe this unethical practice in the USA. This is my first review online. Next is BBB.

They didn't reply me some of my emails in the past few months, and the emails they replied me was about out of stock and to check the availability after 30 days. Two weeks ago I called Hoover, they told me the stock will be in soon. And I contacted them again, they told me the part is discontinued and there is no alternative brushroll I can replace. They didn't offer me any solution and told me it's out of 3-year-warranty, and suggested me to buy a new unit with their discount code.

I have been contacting them for more than one year, and I have all the email records. They don't even try to help me and find the solution. All they do is to ask you to wait, and buy a new one in the end. I highly suggest not to purchase their products as you never know when they will discontinue a spare part you need, even though it's a 3-year-old product.

I've used Lysol in my Floor Mates for a good ten years if not more. AND, the issue wasn't the cleaner, it was the machine not turning on. One guy said he dismantled the machine and replaced a fuse. For $157, being a long time customer, the fact that others complained about the defective on/off switch and that I had my original receipt, it would have been NICE to say the very least for them to replace this defective machine. They offered a 30% discount but it would take two weeks for delivery. The rep also said "you can probably get a better deal on Amazon!" I recently bought a Hoover WindTunnel 2. I will be brief - you can keep your Shark and Bissell cleaners, with dust spewing out of the collection canisters as you vacuum. This vacuum is the best I have had in a long time. Incredible suction and pick up - for me, the most important thing with 2 dogs and 2 cats. Other features are the same as most the vacuums today so no real difference there. Yes, it is a little heavy and noisier than some, (I'm a 62 year old guy so it's not an issue here), but it works like the Hoovers I grew up with - great! I still have a small (carry around) Hoover that is at least 50 years old and it still works great.

It turns out there are no authorized dealers in my area of Newfoundland to service the machine, and I have to ship it back to Ontario, before they will give me a new one. However, the catch is I have to pay the shipping. I paid $118.99 for the machine on sale at Canadian Tire and if I ship it through Canada Post it will cost me a little over $100.00 and if shipped by courier I will have to pay $304.00. A little much! Why can't I just bring it back to Canadian Tire and exchange for a new one like other products I have purchased!

They stated that this is stated in the MANUAL, however, when you purchase the item the MANUAL is in the box so how in !!!! are you suppose to know that before you purchase it. So all Hoover upright buyers, beware, have the store open the box so you can read the manual warranty policy before you purchase! Otherwise, you be like me holding a vacuum that is useless and has to throw out good money for another, because it is cheaper than sending it back. I guess I am getting a late April fool! Hoover product: Replacement Belt Item Number 440005136. I was pleased to find the replacement belt I needed for my vacuum, despite Hoover no longer manufacturing the particular canister vacuum I own. The website provided a good description of the item, but I was unable to enhance the image in order to read the serial number on the belt, which I thought might be the correct item. As a result I had to contact customer service for assistance. The representative with whom I spoke was very helpful and knowledgeable and friendly; she was able to verify the correct belt I needed and I ordered the item from the website.

Shipping was RIDICULOUSLY expensive ($6.99) for such a small item, which cost only $3.00. After initial e-mail confirmation of the order, I never received shipping notification, which would have been helpful since the time between placing the order and delivery was almost two weeks. Nevertheless, the belt was the correct item and the correct size and it was easy to install and the vacuum now works as it was designed. I have used Hoover products for years and I have found them to be consistently reliable despite lesser quality parts & construction in recent years.

Addendum: The above comments refer to an order which was placed on February 1, 2019. On February 22, 2019 Hoover sent a follow-up e-mail asking me to provide feedback on my order and my experience with their company. My submitted review & comments are the same as those above with the addition of the following comment made on their online questionnaire: Submit additional feedback to Customer Care: Would you recommend Hoover to a friend? 0-10 - (I rated Hoover a 7). Why?: I have used Hoover products for years and I have found them to be consistently reliable despite lesser quality parts & construction in recent years.

The following day I received another e-mail from Hoover with the following message: "Your Review has been moderated. Our staff has read your review and values your contribution even though it did not meet all our website guidelines. Thanks for sharing, and we hope to publish next time!" Apparently, Hoover is only interested in publishing 100% positive reviews on their website. Good-bye Hoover & good luck!

Hoover products cannot be relied and I would not advise people to buy their products simply for 2 main reasons: 1. Product Quality - poor and 2. Warranty support - pathetic. I purchased the product in 2016, which comes with battery that failed within 2 years. A battery with 5 years of warranty failing in its 2nd year is too bad a quality. On contacting Hoover, I was asked to return the old battery, which I gladly agreed, but they wouldn't pay for the return shipping.

Now as a consumer, I trust a product at least to last its warranty period. If the product fails before that, then the manufacturer needs to replace or fix it for FREE of cost and not charge anything to the consumer. Consumer has already paid for the product and for its shipping as the case may be. Now for the manufacturers defect and fault, why should I pay the shipping every time it fails. Who knows in the remaining warranty period it fails again, then again I need to pay for its shipping. That's ridiculous.

2ndly, when I agreed to ship on my cost, post FEDEX would not ship a lithium battery without proper box label. This company doesn't know that lithium products needs to have proper lithium label and the customer service boasts that they have thousands of returns of battery and no one asked for a label. Well, people may have shipped without disclosing or maybe it's a new rule or maybe some postal carrier is enforcing this rule, still they should know. In fact their boxes have those UL labels, and they cannot send a proper label to affix on the return box. If a company cannot product a product which lasts at least to its warranty period, then such product should be avoided. Don't buy Hoover due to poor product quality and pathetic customer service.

I bought at Costco the Hoover Linx cordless vacuum on 3/24/2018. This product is only used between regular vacuuming with an Electrolux. The product is still under warranty. The battery went completely dead and will not charge in the charger. It’s been terrible dealing with Hoover.com and their customer service department. I’ve called and waited on hold for 45 mins the first time I called. Then if you send emails they never respond until the next day, or later and only provide tidbits of information at a time. What could have been resolved in a single phone call, or a couple of emails has taken at least 2 two phone calls (which I hung up after waiting 15 mins on the 2nd call...was not going to waste another 45 mins trying to get my problem resolved), and at least 8 emails. My first email I explained my problem... After a few days they finally responded wanting my receipt which I sent.

Well that wasn’t enough... They then after a day sent another email giving me troubleshooting to try... Received two letters different days telling me how to troubleshoot. After I did the troubleshooting it was known that the battery was defective and dead. Had to once again send yet another email, who then told me I had to send back at my expense the defective battery before they would do anything. Luckily I had kept the dead battery once determined that battery was dead... Because I almost took it to a store that recycles. So I then had to send them another email with the tracking number and carrier I used for returning the dead/defective battery.

Once again...waited another day for another email from Hoover. I will never, ever buy another Hoover product because of their terrible customer service. As I stated this could have been resolved in a phone call if they bothered to answer, or in a few emails, but they continued to drag it along and take forever to honor the warranty. I’ve had a useless product for weeks and received yet another email from Hoover stating my replacement battery may arrive in 7 to 14 days... Don’t buy a Hoover product as it’s a nightmare to get them to honor a warranty.

The last time I had the item on DRY which should not produce any liquid and it still leaked. I contacted Hoover as my return and service window with Amazon is up. Hoover will not warranty my 6 month old unit due to having purchased from a 3rd party seller. Best they would offer me is to call their customer support directly to receive a discount on a new item. The one I have is very new!! Hoover does not stand by their products and does not offer the same one year warranty that everyone else does. I want everyone to know not to buy their crap products; that they don't last. Hoover doesn't stand by the products they sell and they don't offer a warranty.

Could not get anyone to answer customer service line. Sent an email with issues that no one responded to. Went to nearest repair shop on Hoover’s website. Was charged 60 dollars, then told they could not fix it. Motor for brushes burned out and Hoover told them they would not warranty it. Called Hoover. Had to wait almost 20 minutes on hold to be told unless I can get the receipt they will do nothing. Told them I bought it on my red card from Target, have statement. Still refuse to do anything without the receipt. Called Target, requested a copy of my receipt. They refused stating they can only go back 90 days. So out 600 hundred dollars, and still don’t have a working vacuum.

Terrible customer service, not only they will not assist or transfer me to a manager they said my only option (if I choose not to travel to a service center 2 hours away from where I reside) is to ship the vacuum to them - shipping charges on me and even then they’re not sure they’ll be able to replace it. Absolutely unacceptable. Mind you there’s still 1 year plus left for warranty. I’m stuck with a broken vacuum and feel completely cheated! Don’t waste your money, poor quality of items (nothing like what they seem to advertise). It’s not worth the headache. After a couple of calls I got them the serial number off the label, they could see it was manufactured in 2017. Their warranty states 5 years. I have manuals, everything for the vacuum except I can't locate the sales receipt.

First they said they would ship me parts, then they said they wanted to troubleshoot, then on call #4 they said they won't do anything without receipt. Really? Warranty is 5 years, they say it can't be fixed but I felt once they found out that I can't remember where I placed the receipt (it was a working machine and I didn't think I needed to worry about receipt) they decided they would do nothing for me. This has made me realize that I will never do business with Hoover or purchase anything. I can't believe for a $150.00 (roughly) purchase they won't stand behind their product after about 3 months of use. They are aware of the problem with the beater but it seems like their customer service was constantly trying to get out of repairing or replacing my new vacuum.
