The wrong type of company showed up. They were not able to fix it. They were not plumbers. They did excavating and repairs. Had to call Homeserve and start all over again.

I was given an appointment 2 days after my call for service. Time slot 8:00 am-12 noon. Noon came around and no service tech and no calls. I called the plumbing company, no answer and voicemail box was full, so I can't leave a message. I e-mailed them on their website, but got an error message. At 2:45 pm, the service tech showed up. He fixed the problem and explained to me what's going on. So the technician was GOOD, but their office sucks.

The next day I got a call from the plumbing company to schedule to come out that day. I told him they already came yesterday and fixed the problem. I haven't found a good plumber through Homeserve. You've sent me (bad) plumbers to fix HVAC issues. The one good plumber you've sent me 4+ years ago does not want to work for Homeserve anymore, so I'm stuck with less than desirable technicians/companies. I have to consider whether I want to stay with Homeserve or find another warranty company.

We had a smell and we could not figure out what it would be. It seemed like all that needed to do was a drain and that came from in the garage. The water went inside our laundry room. HomeServe had people do that before but they didn't really work. But this time, it worked. So they did a very nice job. It looks like a fairly simple solution. But that seemed to take care of it. HomeServe is a good thing for homeowners to have, and they should at least check for their main insurance agent because not everything is covered. Even in a very good home insurance for the residents, there are things that HomeServe can cover, that the homeowners did not.

Your plumber came up but did nothing. He blame it on the new faucet; told him the low pressure was the reason I replaced the faucet. He said he talked to his supervisor and he blaming the new faucet also. I called American Standard and they said that not the issue. Said it has to be debris in the lines somewhere. So I looked at pull-down faucet myself and lost the hoses which made the situation worse. Another plumber came but couldn't do anything because the hoses wouldn't go back in. Told him a replacement has already been ordered and he told me they would have to charge me $100 to install.

My 20 year old toilet hadn’t flushed properly for years, and was now leaking water. HomeServe sent out plumbers who after disconnecting the toilet, found that roots had warped the drainage pipe, and were clogging the hole beneath the toilet. This was going to be a major project. I had no working toilet for 21 days, as HomeServe sent out various plumbers, the plumbers submitted their bids, and HomeServe analyzed their estimates.

On the 21st “toiletless” day, Fracissca, INC plumbers completed the project in one day, after a lot of non-stop, hard work. 21 days was a long time, but every HomeServe representative that I spoke to, during and after the project, were always very personable and helpful. I appreciated that time had been spent by HomeServe trying to save me as much out of pocket money as possible. And, I was very happy with the plumber, Nate and the other Fracissca plumbers who began and ended the project. I will hopefully succeed in posting pictures that show how much effort it took to solve my toilet dilemma. However, I know how to post pictures as well as I understand about flanges.

I called on Wednesday night at about 9 o'clock on the night before Thanksgiving. There was a gentleman that called me back within a half an hour, and he was so nice. I said, “I understand that it's before a holiday and nothing is gonna happen, blah, blah, blah.” But he offered me the first appointment on Friday. The man that came was here by 9 o'clock on Friday morning. I was pleased with the whole situation. My husband was here and he dealt with the gentleman. It was the day after Thanksgiving, so I'm sure he was extremely busy but he was very willing to be here and get us taken care of. Requesting for service to HomeServe wasn’t difficult. It’s just that I had to renew for plumbing and it was taken out every month, but I called ahead of time to pay so they won’t have to take out every month for this go-round. Then, I see this month that they took out a payment, and it’s already paid. So, I was about to call them to figure out what’s going on with that. Also, I don’t like that we're doing two claims but it is for the same thing. I have two bathrooms running on the same line. If I have a problem with one, they're like, “Well, we can’t look at that one. We can only look at one.” Then you only got, for a year, two visits. So, that takes up your thing for the year for what I feel is one treatment. Other than that, they do pretty good.

I was very satisfied with HomeServe. I had paid for my services and it was for a water heater repair. That was supposed to be covered. The techs came out and they replaced it. Then they charged me $110 talking about they had to put some sort of a transition pump in there. It was required to get the water heater and that was what was needed to be up to code. I said, "Well, this water heater that's in there isn't that old, and it doesn't have one. So it just sounds like you guys are trying to get out on some extra money." That was the way I feel like. I paid with the way I was supposed to and I was promised in my policy to get that stuff free of charge. Then they found a way to screw me out of $110.

Submitting the service request was pretty simple though. I don't believe I was on hold very long. They had somebody come out here quickly and they did a quick callback. It took a few process. The techs who were here were very professional and very clean. The service was worth it. I definitely got my money's worth. But then, if they told me it was going to be replaced for free, then I shouldn't have to come out of pocket $110. I just have a feeling like no matter what, I'm always going to run into something like that where something is covered and they’re going to find a way to throw in some extra charges. But at the end of the day, I still came out of pocket a lot less than what I would have if I had to get my own water heater.

We had a gas leak and National Grid told me that it was the stove. I called the stove company and they told me that there was nothing wrong with it. I called HomeServe and then they came and changed the hose where the gas was coming from. The only thing is that the last time we kept calling for the stove, we got disconnected a few times. But we've been doing it online so it's been okay.

Then we weren’t so happy when we had a leak because they were gonna give us three days. We had to fight for it because we had it covered and we’d wait three days so they said they would try to expedite it. We had to call a couple of times and speak to a supervisor, and then they fixed it. Now, we have the same problem. The gentleman that came thought that the leak was coming from the refrigerator water hose. But it turned out it was not that. We have to call them again ‘cause it’s still leaking. So far, HomeServe has been okay. They don’t come as quick as I would like to, but they’ve come, they look at the situation, and then if they can’t solve it, they’ll send somebody else.

It's an easy process to call in and tell them I have a problem. Usually, whoever they've determined to come out calls me back right away. It's not always a good experience though once the people have come. Some techs are very good and some are not so good. We had a situation with plumbing and the people who came out did what they did but they didn't always do it efficiently. We have also had some electrical people come out that have not been the best. They come out and they say "Oh yeah, that. No, not covered, sorry" and they're out the door. I then determine that the issue is something else and then I'd be calling back to have them come out again.

When I call in to schedule, I'm calling in because I have an issue. So, I want somebody to come out and for them to schedule my appointment for me. The people who come out then say "I don't know why HomeServe scheduled that. They know we do our own scheduling.". Sometimes, when I call in, the person setting the appointment is very professional and they know exactly what they're doing and how to help me. There are others who are young people and they don't know what they're doing. Sometimes, they tell me things that are not covered when they are and vice versa but they do the best they can.

I have HomeServe because of what it covers on our water lines, sewage lines, and all the plumbing. The claims submission has been pretty easy. You just call them up and let them know you're having a problem and they'll come out and check it out. If something needs to be done, they'll do it or they’ll tell us what needs to be done, and then they'll do it. And they just handle the rest of the claim. But sometimes it takes a day to get someone out.

My toilets were leaking and it was coming up in the bathroom. The plumber couldn't come out until the next day. But it so happened that a friend of mine had a snake and they knew what to do, so they unclogged the thing. It worked for a little bit, but then it happened again. This just happened just this past week. I told the contractor that they didn't need to come because it got unclogged. This time, my friend called the city because it wasn't our line. It was the city line that was backing up. The city unclogged it. I didn’t get to call the contractor back. They were supposed to call me and let me know ‘cause I had called them, but they didn’t. When they came, I told them the city came and unclogged it and I got charged for it anyway.

The only thing that I don't like about HomeServe's service is that you only can have so many. They can only come twice a year. So, if you have more problems, there are only certain things, so many times that they can come out and fix your problem.

Then they could not find one of their “service providers” to patch the drywall for over a week. I also had to call them several times to inquire about it and deal with voice response and waiting on hold. Finally, I found my own drywall repair person and submitted the invoice to HomeServe. They have a 30-day review process before giving me my reimbursement for doing their work. So very unimpressed overall. Just another insurance company.

When you can get hold of them, their reps are helpful and pleasant and try very hard. But they take way too long to answer or return phone calls. I spent from 20 to 40 minutes on hold most of the several calls I had to make to them over this one claim. And they don't seem to communicate with each other well, as one rep told me he would cancel the first plumber they had scheduled because he found another one who could come out sooner. Then an hour later a different rep called to confirm what time the first plumber was coming!

My claim was over a water leak in the main supply line under the front lawn, so we had to have the water cut off while awaiting repair. First call was a Saturday morning, and they had trouble finding a plumber who could come out before Monday. The one that did come Saturday looked at the yard and said they could not fix it because they did not have "leak detection" technology. Plumber who came Monday did do a leak detection and then dug where they thought the leak was and could not even find the pipe. Had to come back later after cable locator service marked things which took 3 days. Job was not done until 10 days after my initial call, during which we were without running water in the house.

We get plumbing problems. When we get backed up, every time a plumber comes out, we're looking between $150 to $400 depending on the severity of the clog that’s why we got HomeServe. You call them, they call the company, then they call back. It could be a little more streamlined but it’s not bad. The company that HomeServe uses out here is good. We recently called for a plumbing backup and it's funny because when the plumber came out, the clog was gone. He said that happens sometimes. What probably happened was when I opened up the main cleanout, it created an airflow which probably pushed the clog out. So far, we’ve been pretty good.

HomeServe is great. They fixed my furnace and my air conditioner, and I didn't have a giant bill I had to cough up. I just pay the little fee every month. I've submitted claims three or four times for different things. When I call them up, they say somebody will contact me within two hours. Usually within 15 or 20 minutes, somebody calls. They'll identify themselves and tell me know who they are and where they're coming from. Then they will tell me however long it takes them to get from where they are to my house, which is usually like 10 to 20 minutes. They come and they're very professional. The people are very nice. They're very clean.

Now with the pandemic, they wear masks to protect me because I'm old lady, and I'm from high risk with diabetes and a heart condition. There's no question about wearing a mask. They come with the mask right on. With HomeServe, I don't have to wait for days for a contractor to come out. Sometimes, if you go through HomeServe, they come right away. The only that disappointed me was that I thought when I got the water in the water lines and drain lines, they would cover if there’s a leak underneath my bathroom sink. If the drain is rusted through and it's leaking, I thought it would cover that but it didn't. I wasn't mad about it. I just misunderstood that it covered the actual sewer lines, not the little drain thing under the bathroom sink.

With the money I paid them for the year, I've already more than got back for my furnace and my air conditioning calls. When an auxiliary heater in my garage broke, I called HomeServe and I found out that the warranty I had didn't cover that little heater in the garage. It had to have its own separate warranty. They did send somebody. He came and he fixed it and I paid for it. Then I called back and I got a warranty on that heating thing in the garage. So if it breaks again, I'll have a warranty on that too. I'm pretty well covered. It's always very good work and good people. If something happens again, they'll send them again. They don’t give me a hard time. So for the peace of mind and that I don't have to write out a check for $1,000, it's worth every penny.

Barney Jordan Plumbing has been out many times. But one time was a nightmare. They caused damage to my property and they would not own it. So I filed against them with Contractor's Licensing Board. I have asked HomeServe to not send Barney Jordan to my home. But yet, they did again. It was not to my house, but it was to another home that I own and I don't live at. The call was canceled. At some point during the day, they showed up anyway. They evidently cleared the clog. But they were not supposed to be there. They left no paperwork or invoice to show what was done. I don't know what they did or who came.

I like HomeServe very much. The problem is that they only have Barney Jordan listed in my area. I've got another guy that has done the paperwork and he's done three jobs for me. I've asked for him this last time and between when I reported the call and I went through all of that explanation, they sent it to the assignment people and all that was lost. They called Barney Jordan anyway. I've literally stopped Barney Jordan at my front door. I told the plumber that he needed to get back in his truck because I have another person coming. They said they got the call. I was sure they did because there's a disconnect somewhere in HomeServe.

There needs to be more than one company that services this area because otherwise, they can do whatever they want. HomeServe is not giving more options to the customers. The only other company they've ever offered was Roto-Rooter, and that was after a hassle. Recently, I had to have the sewer lines replaced in my backyard. HomeServe paid $6,000 but Roto-Rooter wanted $11,500 for the job. But I was able to get Mr. Ed's who charged $7500, so I had to pay $1,500. It’s a huge difference when you don't have options.

I have insurance on another one of my property with another insurance company and I’ve had to wait on the phone for 45 minutes to an hour just to get someone to take my call. But HomeServe is a lot better than that. I've had the plumbing situation and somebody was out the same day. With the air conditioning unit, somebody is usually out within 24 hours. But it really depends on what the service is and how long it takes and what's going on. During the summer months, it's gonna be longer for air conditioner service. So their claims process is reasonable. HomeServe is great. I would recommend it to all homeowners.

I've mostly had good contractors with the plumbing and air conditioner service. But right now, I'm not very happy with the appliances. There's been a ongoing issue with the washer and it hasn't been fixed. We've been told that we have to wait. They said they were waiting on a part. But it's been going on for about two months. When we talked about possibly getting the washer replaced, they said that that's not a part of the plan. They only do repairs. If the washing machine can't be repaired, they don't assist with replacement.

The drain going out to the street was blocked in some way. So any water that we were using was coming back up my pipe or wherever it could come back up. It came up with my basement like two or three times. I would clean it up and think that it would be okay. But we would shower or use the water again, and it comes up again. Then they came out and they thought that they cleared it. But when they left the next morning, my son showered and it came up again. We're able to use it now, but they told me that when they did a camera down, that they could tell that the pipe was not straight in some way. They said they would send HomeServe the footage.

The first time I called HomeServe I told them it was a drain under the washer that the water was coming up from. But somehow, the plumbing company didn't get that memo. The plumbing company could have contacted me directly and I could have even told them directly what the issue was. That would have solved the first call out. We were without taking a shower for three days because of all of that communication. It could have been cleared up with the first time they came out.

The plumbing company sent a young kid who was on his own for a while the first time. I don't think that he had enough skill set to really know what was going on. My son said he was there for four hours and he should have figured it out in those hours. Then it was the next morning that my son showered that it came back up again. So then I had to call them, go through the whole process again, and sit there and call, and make sure somebody was gonna come out and do it right, and have to be there. I'm okay with all of it. But it wasn't a smooth situation.

The actual provider responds fairly quickly. The Homeserve representatives are able to locate my contracts because I have a few contracts with them, and they work with me. I usually get the tickets created and submitted within 10 minutes. So, that's a good experience. They were all professional, knowledgeable and courteous.

There have been a bunch of different contractors, but they've all been professional, too. And in times of COVID now, they're all coming wearing masks, which I appreciate, and they generally fix the job right. There's been one case where the job was coded incorrectly. It was as a sewer repair, but it turned out to be like an interior pipe, and you can't tell that without coming and seeing. I found all the technicians were on top of their game. There should be someone that turns off the water and drains the heater. Otherwise, it would have caused some serious damage. We're completely illiterate when it comes to plumbing. Fortunately, we got somebody out here to do all. For that kind of service though, you would have to pay someone a service charge to come out and at least turn everything off and drain the heater.

For our claim, it took a couple of days for someone to get here. And even when they got here, they just took pictures. They said they had to submit the pictures. But once the plumber was here and he did the work, he did an excellent job and was very professional. Also, I hear that our claim actually went faster than normal so I was pretty relieved about that.

We recently had a sanitary sewer line back up into our basement. In exploring the root cause, the Service Dept. from our municipality concluded that the "test tee" on that sewer line is broken and needed to be replaced. I called HomeServe, since we had previously purchased a Sewer Line Repair plan. On the plus side, HomeServe was extremely responsive - a sewer repair company called within an hour of my call to HomeServe, and came out the next day to evaluate. They confirmed their agreement that the test tee was broken, and HomeServe sent another service provider the next day to develop a quote to repair the line. This company also agreed that the test tee was broken and nothing could reach the sanitary main line.

However, HomeServe has now determined that since there is not active sewer back up into the basement, the line is not "blocked" and therefore does not need the repair that this service contract seems intended to provide. Very disappointed. I was told a supervisor would call me to discuss further and have not been contacted.

I did a claim to HomeServe for the furnace that was acting up. I called and they said they'd send somebody out. I told the contractor how things were acting up and showed him where the furnace was in the basement. I turned the lights on for them and I asked them if they need any help. They said no and that they'd take a look at it. They worked on it for about an hour and a half, and it worked. Then three days later, it quit working. So, I called them back, and they came back. They had to order a part. I remember it was a Friday because they said that they couldn't get the part until Monday. It was Tuesday when they came back and got it working. The second time that they came, they were only here like 15 minutes and got it working.

Homeserve's rep on the phone was really nice when I tried to make the order. Nowadays, a lot of people ain't nice like that anymore. I did the survey too. He asked, "Do you wanna do a quick survey after?" I gave the guy good remarks because he's really friendly and professional. Homeserve did great. I had another problem because something didn't go right. The contractor came back out pretty late, and it’s great again.

I had to call back to HomeServe after no response from the plumbing company since 5 days ago (I even called the plumbing company directly 2 times and got no information-they stated they had not even looked at paperwork at that time). Finally got scheduled on Tuesday (9 days after 1st reporting the problem).

I have had to call for my new $9000 central air unit to be serviced some 6 times for various reasons at all stages of owning it, starting with installation. HomeServe even disregarded my calls because they do not want to honor the 1 year warranty on parts and labor. They have LITERALLY left me in the cold because I do not have a HomeServe insurance plan on a unit that I bought for $9,000!!! FROM THEM!!!

    • The unit was leaking water right after installation was complete and the HomeServe installers were about to leave.

    • The unit was leaking air from the unit itself causing an inefficiency in the air flow. The unit was resealed BUT to no avail because it was still leaking air. My older unit that was replaced DID NOT LEAK air.

    • The unit stopped giving cold air because the unit had a faulty part. That was discovered after 2 visits.

    • The unit was not giving hot air during cold nights. Called twice to schedule a repair service. My requests were unanswered. I was ignored. When I finally got through to a rep, she scheduled an electrician to come to my house. There was no electrical issue. BUT because I didn't have insurance coverage for my unit, they didn't want to honor my 1 year warranty on parts and labor. Did I mention that the unit cost me and my family $9000!!!! To keep us cool in the summer and didn't and warm in the approaching cold nights and it didn't!

    • The electrician ended up having to reprogram my NEST thermostat to get my central air unit to give hot air.

WE ALSO DISCOVERED that when a previous HomeServe electrician removed the faulty part that prevented my central air unit from giving cold air, that electrician DID NOT connect the hydrocoil to the NEST thermostat that would allow it to call for hot air. This is because it would have been TOO MUCH work to connect a 5th wire to enable my $9000 central air unit to give cool and hot air which is what is was intended to do.

HomeServe has NOT served my home well and my family has had to suffer for it. I have a 5 and 9 year old son. I am still hesitant to enclose the central air unit out of FEAR that something else will go wrong with my unit. I am stuck with a unit that HomeServe is not committed to resolving its issues, EVEN though I am financially committed to paying it off. If I wanted to go for a ride, I'd take an Uber; less expensive and no commitments. HomeServe doesn't even have a regional manager for Long Island. The regional manager for New York City or where ever had to get involved at one point. Let's see how long it takes to get results now with a review like this!

Anybody that I've had any interaction with, I've had awesome experience. They’re concerned with my problems. They get it up and running as soon as possible. The most I've had to wait was maybe four hours for a technician to come out. I've had a couple of electricians come out. It's the same guys from the same company. It took them a little bit longer because they were at a job site prior, but they came right out. They came and resolved the problem such as replace a couple of my outlets. It was the same with my AC when I've had them come out.

When the call for a dispatch was placed, I was given the name & number of the co, it was changed, no explanation was noted on the account. I called the co. the next am. I was told they was swamped from the weekend and that AM and my call was considered critical, due to the temp change I could call back to Homeserve and request it be changed back. I did, I normally write down the names of people I talk to, I didn't that time. The woman at Homeserve said the co. declined the job, and they was booked for 2 weeks, she also mentioned the name of the person she had talked to. In which was shocking to me, due to the fact that was NOT what I was told that AM..

I hung up from her and called the co. back, talked to the same person she had talked to. I was told they told her if I could wait until Monday or Tuesday of the next week they could take my job (as I mentioned the temp was predicted to change, warmer), she said that is what she told the woman who called from Homeserve, so WHY did she LIE? I called back, was able to get it changed, the co. called, scheduled a dispatch for that Friday. I don't know how much trouble it would have been for her to make the change, I'm sure she could have asked fo help, but for her to LIE, was not acceptable. I'm thankful I was given the name and number of the co, when the original call was placed, which is the contractor I wanted. She didn't understand why I was not told what she said.

The co. I was reassigned to, called the evening, that I had placed the original call, that was how I found out it had been changed. He didn't identify who he was, or the company, was not professional at all. He called the day he was suppose to come out, said he was on his way, I told him that it had been reassigned to the original contractor and they was suppose to send him an email, he said he had not checked his email.

I call to file claims and they tell me that someone will be in contact with me. Typically, especially if it’s Mayes and Sons, the contractor gets back to me within the time window. They make an appointment and they're always there on time. And they get the job done. They're very forthright and honest about what needs to be done and what they're going to do. Mayes and Sons has been to my house more than once and they are very professional. They do an outstanding job. HomeServe, however, sent another plumber one time who was very questionable. HomeServe went through three different people to fix the plumbing issue. Someone was supposed to contact me within 24 hours and that didn't happen twice. The first person didn’t take the claim so they had to reassign it. It was another 48 hours and the second contractor never responded. Then, Roto-Rooter was assigned and the tech came that same day. Overall, it was a week before they got someone to come. Then, Roto-Rooter had to get a part and the job was finished the next day. The process is not good for me. But Roto-Rooter was very nice and professional.

With the electrical claim, someone called me within a three-hour period. They called on a Friday and were out here on Monday. There was a leak coming from the ceiling and it came through my life fixtures. We thought it might be an electrical issue. By the time the contractor got here, it had dried out and no bulbs had popped. Everything was working and the tech verified that it was okay.

It's been two weeks since I learned that I had a water line main break. I contacted HomeServe and was told that they have their own independent contractors. Last month my water usage was over 37,000 gallons. It took several days to get a company to come out to look at the problem. The company that was hired to perform these repairs, came out and determined the location where the leak was coming from and then left me hanging for a week. After numerous phone calls, they finally came out to install a temporary water line above ground. Since that time I have been put off numerous times. The job has still not been completed. I am curious to know who from HomeServe is following up to make sure these jobs are being completed in a timely manner. I do not want to change companies since they have already started the job but I don't understand the delay.

We bought it but when Hers & His Plumbing came, they wanted to put the same big tank again. But the problem was that the base where the other tank was was already destroyed by the water. There was no point to put the big one in there but they refused to take the old tank down. Also, the guy in charge of Hers & His wasn’t professional. He stood in the van and he would send a guy who was in training to talk to me. He didn't get off of the car to talk to me as a customer. I was disappointed with the service.

When someone finally did call us back we had no information. This went on for at least a week Total lack of communication. We had to call and demanded follow up every single time. Repairman finally came and evaluated in 5 minutes. He told me he would not repair. Called our contact- she said she would find out what was going on. 1 week later-nothing. Called again. Told her I was getting my own repairman and sending her the invoice.

Because I had wasted 6 weeks and I work in healthcare and really don’t have time to call every day I needed to communicate by email. She sent me a request for an invoice. Once everything was complete I sent her the information. Haven’t heard a word from her.- sent three emails. Nothing. Just called today. I would like to be reimbursed. This service has failed On multiple levels and I would not recommend to anyone. This process is on 8 weeks and we had to do ALL the communicating and work. I had a horrible experience with HomeServe. I put a call in on Thursday for a plumbing service and I did not hear from the plumbing company, Belfast, at all. I called them four times and today, I called them twice. I got somebody on the line and the woman said I was scheduled but they didn't know what time. She was not receptive to the fact that I was frustrated and that I was just trying to get some information. I was asking what time that the technicians were gonna come. Her response was, “I had two people out sick and I'm overwhelmed." But that's not my problem. I reiterated to her that I have water flowing everywhere. I even called the city water department. And they don't have the time.

Beldast was gonna get to me when they get to me. But what am I paying for? I might as well call Roto-Rooter or somebody. I'm never ever gonna be dealing with that plumbing companmy. In fact, today, I was thinking that maybe I need to cancel with Homeserve and go with American Home Warranty because it's ridiculous. They gotta do a better job of the vendors that they contract with because it's nonsense. I'm paying a monthly fee for service thinking I'm gonna get immediate service but they send it to the vendors and the vendors don't get that back to me. Customer service is not good and they are incompetent. Their followthrough is horrible. And it takes nothing to call somebody back. I called on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday. I got a text about 30 minutes ago that between 12:00 and 4:00 o'clock, Belfast are gonna come and provide the service.

I’ve had Homeserve for over 10 years and I didn’t have this problem in the past. But it has been horrible these last few months. They need to fix something with the system. I understand the COVID-19 thing but they need to have somebody answering their phone. If that means they need to hire some more people, they need to hire some more people. A consumer can get frustrated calling and calling and not having the opportunity to talk to anyone about the problem. I talked to someone Friday evening and the receptionist at Homeserve said they called the vendor three times too. I was on Homeserve’s line three times today for 25 minutes and still didn't talk to a human being. What Homeserve needs to do is offer me some type of discount in the fees I'm paying for the service I'm not getting.

Took my money and did not provide coverage. After contacting them about my sewer backing up, they informed me that my policy was canceled. Due to nonpayment. After reviewing my credit card charges, payment was made, And I even have a copy that they had received the payment. But they insisted that no payment was made and wanted to have me make another payment. Absolutely not worth the hassle to deal with them. I’m having my credit card company dispute the charges at this time and went ahead and hired a plumber to fix the problem.

It's fairly easy to get the claim pushed through with HomeServe. We had a backup. The plumber came out but he couldn't get it. So, he had to call another one. Another one came up and he couldn't get it. Then they sent another team out. They ended up getting it. Then I had another backup that came up even before that go. I had another plumber come out that wasn't connected with Homeserve or Haynes. He suggested that I run the camera down the system.

I had an independent contractor. I paid over $500 for them to come up and run a camera. The pipe is about 10 feet out that has a deep dip in it. What happened, stuff built up in that area and eventually, it caused the backup. It may take a while to do it, but eventually, it does. I passed that on to Haynes. When that came out, I showed them that. They said there was no problem. I’d always have water in the pipes. I said okay. But then, I had another backup that came back out. They ran another camera down there. It was the same thing. They said it’s slow, but there was no major problem. They cleared it. Then it started backing up again.

Then they came out and ran another camera. They said I had a broken pipe, which I suspected that. They replaced a portion of the pipe, but it didn't replace the part where the dip was. About two weeks ago, I had another backup. I called them and the guy came out. At first, he couldn't get it ‘cause he had a little smaller snake. He called back and a guy came out with a larger snake. He went back to clear the line.

I was explaining to him the same problem I was having. I said it's gonna be back up again eventually. Haynes came out and they looked at it. Homeserve was calling another company ‘cause another company came out this Wednesday. They ran a camera down there. The same thing that I've been telling Haynes and my contractor that paid for, the problem was that dip in the pipe. They just confirmed everything that I had to say. They sent the paperwork to Homeserve.

HomeServe is going to replace that section of pipe, but they haven’t done that. I'm just praying right now I don’t get another backup before this occurs. But Homeserve seems very cooperative with me, and they’re very nice and very pleasant. But the problem hasn’t really been solved as of yet. I would recommend them because Homeserve is not doing the work themselves. They have contractors and they go by what the contractor says.

They use Drain Medic. This company has unscrupulous plumbers. They charge about double what other plumbers charge and they make the job more complicated to get even more money. This my third experience with them. Tell HomeServe you want and need to use your own plumber! But they make it hard on you to do that.

Disappointed having been a customer for many years. The air conditioning experience was an unnecessary disaster. Too many calls with no one paying attention; unnecessary extended wait time for calls to be answered and the worst on-hold music. Sadly the website does not allow for service calls thereby annoying the end consumer. It has forced me to cancel the air conditioning service policy and purchase and have installed a new unit at my expense when this could have been prevented.

Our home is only six years old; but our sewer line clogged at 6pm on Wednesday night and we were without water or toilets but HomeServe contacted Down Home Plumbing who tried to unclog the sewer line for two hours that night and returned the next day and spent four hours digging a replacement sewer line. The workers were very hard working and respectful. We have had the HomeServe Warranty on our primary residence and six rental properties for 3 years but this was our first claim & we are very satisfied.

WSSC, our water utility company sent out a promotional material saying that said, “Your exterior line is not covered by us. If you don’t want high bills, you should probably consider getting this insurance.” I didn’t even know that the infrastructure was our responsibility until our water service sent that brochure. We signed up and the whole process of initiating a ticket, us being referred to a local service and them coming out very quickly, that was all very nice and easy. I give that an A, but I would give the technician a C. He was were prompt. He came out within two days, but when my husband told him that we had a sprinkler system, his troubleshooting stopped right there. He focused on the sprinkler system instead of if there was a leak with a source other than that. Given a piece of information, he should continue on whatever troubleshooting process he uses and not "that's what it is."

HomeServe took my call immediately and sent the plumber out to the house the same day. The work was done as quickly as possible. The plumber checked on the leak several times, because the patched pipe "blew" three times. However, the plumber took care of it each time. He even called me the following day to report his findings.
