    Extremely expensive, small job, and very unhappy. The service technician, have a very poor level of skills, used my own parts and left the job leaking and dirty. Next day another services technician come to my home after my emergency call, finally they fixed the problem and completely the job.

    Said conflicting information. Called and told them I had a guy come out to install a faucet in my kitchen. I told them my spigot in my closet for the main water pipe to turn out the main valve would not shut off so they had to go out in the yard. They said this would be covered. Then they had a guy come out and he seemed busy. He went back to his truck to call you all and said, "They we wouldn't cover it if it wasn't leaking".

    Rockland was selected by my warranty provider HomeServe/Service Line Warranties of America. After the tech arrived he diagnosed the issue, and cut a pipe in my basement to rod it out. Then I got a call from HomeServe/Service Line Warranty company telling me it is not covered. This was supposed to have been discussed between those parties before any action. Technician from Rockland continues on and breaks the cast iron pipe leading into my concrete floor in the basement. Drain was not clear and then I have water coming slowly onto my basement floor. They get approval to rod the exterior so I reluctantly tell him to perform that work since it will be covered. Technician leaves without performing the exterior job or letting me know that he was leaving? Extremely unprofessional behavior and reckless. Left me with a giant wet mess to vac up in the basement.

    Company never returned my calls twice that afternoon after knowing I had an issue with them. Further this happened during coronavirus, technician had a mask, however didn't realize he needs to wear his mask over his nose too for everyone's safety. F rating, avoid Rockland and Service Line Warranties of America and HomeServe at all cost. HomeServe offered a $200 "Good Faith" check to me for a repair that ended up costing $2150 for a problem their "Fully Vetted" plumber created. Caution flag on this warranty company, it is a scam. I was a 7 year paying customer of this insurance and that is how I was treated.

    Updated on 05/05/2020: I previously sent a review but wanted to edit it but could not find anywhere to do so. See the attached pics. Plumbers left my home without fixing the problem. Have waited for 6 days. I have no water. It's 6 pm. They have been here and left. They told me to open up the faucets and let the water run. I did as they said and still no water. Faucets have muddy water coming out of them and then just stopped. This is not fair. See my review sent earlier.

    Original Review: I called Homeserve on Tuesday, April 28. A rep. from the plumbing co. came out the next day to summarize the work that had to be done. I had a broken water line coming from my water meter can to the ext. Wall. Before he left, he said it would be approx. 5-7 days before they could make repairs. I called Home Serve and asked if they could put a rush on the matter. They said they would try. It took the plumber 6 days, May 4, to return and make repairs. I had to go out to the water meter and turn on the water manually for 6 days even while it was raining. Not sure what I would've done if I had a fire inside my home with little water pressure. This is certainly not what I expected from this reputable company.

    Part of the problem was under the exterior wall. They said all they could fix was up to the ext. wall and not any further. The contract indicates repairs up to the ext. wall. The whole stem wall is the ext. wall but they would not allow the repairs to be done. This is ridiculous. I feel like I didn't get close to what I bargained for especially the amount of days it took to make repairs. The plumbers took more breaks than the time it took to fix it. On the day of repairs I got 3 text messages from the plumbers letting me know they would be at my home between 7:45 and 8 am. They arrived shortly before 10 am. and give me a courtesy call to let me know they were running late. Whatever happened to companies that care about their customers over $ signs.??

    The first guy came out and told me to recall HomeServe. I recalled them and they sent out a man who didn’t know anything about my situation and said he couldn’t do anything. Afterward I called the septic people and they came. They had they septic tank cleared. The water in the shower has gone down but does not drain some of the water. It still needs worked on. It’s annoying that I cannot use it. Someone needs to come back and fix it.

    I was disappointed in the lack of what is covered through this insurance. I discovered that I had a slow leak in my shower and had dry rot wood under the shower pan. The plumber came out and said that the pipes are fine and it’s not covered. When I hired a different company to come and rebuild my subfloor and replace the tile they discovered that the pipe for about 3’ feet needed to be replaced or we will continue to get a clogged drain. When the plumber returned he had quite an attitude and said the pipe was fine and that my sub shouldn’t have disconnected the plumbing which he had to do to rebuild the shower. We are talking about wanting HomeServe to cover about $300 of my $3000 expense to redo the shower. If pipes are the only thing covered and not re-construction this insurance is not really worth having.

    They never disclosed since I started warranty in Jan 2018 that in Philadelphia Water and Sewer Line leaks are only covered inside the home. If the water line is broke at the curb or street in Philadelphia your policy does not cover it. So when I call in for service and contractor come out he tells me it's not covered. Call up customer service and they give me the run and around and finally tell me it's not covered. So refund me my money. It's a scam. Don't buy it if you live in Philadelphia.

    I signed up for a water coverage and the lady talked to me. Told me it will cover my home. That means outside and inside, let's say I misunderstood because she was speaking so fast and I told her that I need her to send me a paperwork so I can read because I didn't get all the info. Anyway I didn't receive anything, and for my bad luck I had a clogged pipes, so I called it in, first they said they can not send anyone until Tuesday, then they set up an appointment for Monday, the guy came in did nothing, my husband had to stay home from work so we lost money, they said they are coming the next day, which they did.

    They say they couldn't do anything and that they have to bring a camera. They did review the issue and then they called me saying, "The break is under your slab which is not covered," I said what I signed up for a coverage of my home, she said, "You only signed up for outside, not interior plumbing." If the lady that I talked to informed me, "We have 2 plans," I would of course sign up for the one with the interior one. This is a bad company. Do not sign with them and I will keep writing complaints about it all over the place and will even complain to Dominion.

    A friend who had Homeserve's services told me about them and how they would help get my appliances fixed and recommend people who are reputable. I went with them and there was a time when I had some plumbing issues. They resolved that. Another time, I had an air conditioner problem during a super hot month and my unit was giving me headaches. I called and Homeserve sent out a company that took care of my issue. Their contractors come out as quickly as they can. It's always one or two days and they have somebody coming out. I told my sister to get their service soon as her purse string can afford it.

    HomeServe likes to assign contracts to specific plumbers and I don’t think that they are the best plumbing companies around. When I want something done, I want it done right. I don’t wanna have to call back. They need to upgrade the plumbers that they’re using. There was a vent on my heating system that was leaking. The plumber came and asked me if the water was shut off from the shutoff valve in the past couple of days.     It seems that HomeServe only use this company Duhon that has only 3 employees when having electrical repairs work scheduled. So this makes it very hard to get the work done. HomeServe also always seem not to give the same order quoted to me on the phone as being approved to get done. So now I have to reschedule another appointment for the Electrician to come back and do what could have already been done when he was at my house and not it will take 2 or weeks to get it done. The Electrician Company Duhon does not call and set up a time the day before, they call 20 minutes before they are to arrive to let me know he is on my way to do the repairs that I did not know was schedulded for in 20 mins since no one called to say when he would come or what day or time to arrive. This is the Second Time this has happened with this same company!!!

    I’ve been a member of HomeServe when it used to be called Aqua HomeServe but over the past seven years, I did not need to use them at all. This was my first experience.     I had 2 house calls within this month. There was water on the floor between the tub and the toilet. The serviceman said my shower head was leaking in the wall and was coming out on the floor. They went out to their truck to call the company. They came back and said all I needed was some plumber tape, and they don't do that. They left. There was still an abundance of water on the floor. I had had the tape put on the showerhead and something was still leaking.

    I called the service again. 2 servicemen came out again. They examined the toilet and said I needed a washer replaced between the tank and the toilet. I asked if I could feel the leak. The leak was just enough to get my finger damp. They went out to the truck and came back in and said the company said they don't cover fixture parts. While they were in the bathroom, I flushed the toilet and all the water came gushing out from the base of the toilet. Told the guy the main problem was my toilet needed a wax ring which the insurance covers. After 2 trips to my house, I should not have had to diagnose the problem. Charlotte

    I had water running down my yard and you could tell it was coming from the bathroom area. The plumber argued with me that there wasn’t a leak. That it was coming from a water hose. It wasn’t. I had already check the first day I saw it. The guy acted like I was some stupid woman. The cleanout plug was right where the leak had started. I asked him to check clean out. He just kept saying it wasn’t a leak. His attitude was terrible. He never even bent over the entire time. I finally got disgusted with him and told him to leave. He sit in my driveway and called into you guys. I gave it two days and it was still water.

    I called my on plumber and he found the pipe that was leaking and dug and replaced the pipe. The last time Drain Go came about an outside leak they cut two big holes in my sunroom floor. I tried telling him where the leak was that just because water was running out from house I knew the water lines. He cut holes then walked off. They finally dug where I told them where the leak was. When he did he found the leak. They changed you guys $1,800 to dig a small area. Then $340.00 to haul off a small pipe about 2’5” long. You guys have the worst plumber in my area. Drain Go has a bad name here. This is a population of about 5000 people. Word travels fast. I like your company but you have chosen the laziest people to work for you. I don’t want them to ever step on my property. You need to find a reliable plumbing company. It cost me, $275.00 to have pipe dig up and replaced.

    After calling the 800 number to report a furnace issue, I received a reply that a company named "Hey Neighbor" would be arriving to research the issue. After being downstairs a while, he showed me pictures on some type of device and said the heat exchanger was cracked and that it wasn't covered by Homeserve's coverage. He stated that they only covered "cheap" parts so they didn't lose money. After telling me he could put a new furnace in the next day (+$5000) I got a second estimate Exact same unit only $1400 cheaper. I then had the second company tear the furnace apart to actually inspect the heat exchanger. They stated that there was absolutely nothing wrong with the heat exchanger and that the issue was with the unit's mother board. So, instead of an inexpensive repair I had an entire unit put in based on Home Serve's technician's diagnosis.

    Yelp has reviews saying "Don't let them in your house" and the BBB site has nothing but negative reviews yet Homeserve continues to utilize this company. After again contacting Homeserve via phone, I faxed all the new information to them as I was instructed. Now, almost 3 weeks later I have yet to have any type of feedback. To be fair, several years ago I had to use the hot water tank replacement program and it was excellent. What a difference in companies.

    Saturday morning at 4:30am we heard a water leak. Called Home Serve after we turned off water main and were told that we would have a call from a contracted plumber sometime after 8am and before noon. Called Home Serve back 20 minutes afternoon to report that we had not heard from anyone. After a couple minute search, the phone rep advised that they found the reporting order and would contact the contractor who had accepted the order and asked me to wait on hold. 5 minutes later the rep came back to say that the contractor had backed out of the job. Said that she would rebid the job to contractors and would call back. She did so in about 5 minutes and advise we would soon get a call. We did get a call within 10 minutes from the plumber which was one they had sent for prior plumbing issues who advised someone would be there within the hour and they were and promptly took appropriate actions. All good now.

    I got a notice about HomeServe from the utility company a long time ago. I had an idea of what certain repairs were gonna cost and it looked like a good idea. Something up to the water heater was covered but from then on, it was my responsibility. In submitting a claim, I simply called the appropriate number and they got one of their people out here, plumbers generally. The contractors who came might have called three times in the past couple of years. It was United Plumbing and they did an excellent job.     Originally we signed up home warranty service with Dominion Virginia Electric, and they provided excellent services. After Dominion contracted it out to HomeServe, we are having VERY bad experiences.     Submitting a service request to Homeserve takes a living heck of a time. Every time we need something, they spend weeks and weeks, and then, they say, “We can’t get anyone out there.” They always have excuses. They'll either bring someone in from Fort Walton, which is an hour and a half from here, or you get your own person out there and pay for it. I’ve had to do that twice, and they promised to get the check to you. In February, I had to get the electrician out here if I pay for it. I just got the check like a week ago. So, that was way too long because they had promised 30 days. It was causing so much stress that it wasn’t worth it. After they approved for me to do it, it took forever.

    The contractor I called was very good. He said as long as I’m paying for it, then I’ll bill it to Homeserve because he was not gonna bill them. He said it takes more paperwork, and there's no way he’s trusting them. At first, there was one time they sent Hers & His Plumbing from Fort Walton, and the guy was out here. We just had a brand-new septic tank put in, and he said something wasn’t right with it, and he couldn’t fix it. It was just a stopped up toilet. He told me what to do, where to go to Home Depot, what to buy, and for me to fix it. And it’s like, “Why should I be out all that money? I’m paying for an insurance and this man’s not even gonna try to unclog the toilet?” I don't like Hers & His Plumbing, and I guess that’s the only one that Homeserve has on this side of the world. After five years of being with them, they would have tried a little harder.

    In October 2019, after having several basement foundation experts, review our basement cinder block wall leak, I determined that it had to be a small, accumulating leak in the outside water service line. This was ultimately because the amount of water coming in did not change during rainstorms and because there was a "Christmas Tree" outline of leaks directly below where the water service line came into the foundation. I had to call HomeServe numerous times and have multiple contractors come out to review the situation. They refused to act because there was no easily visible movement of the water meter and our water bill had no great jump in cost. So I ultimately proved it to them by paying someone to dig 4 feet down to our foundation and service line junction and of course there was a large pool of water.

    Ultimately HomeServe paid for the replacement but did NOT reimburse me for what I paid the contractor to dig the first hole. I thought it was finished but as my wife reminded me, we observed that there still seemed to be a small leak before they filled in the dirt. Of course they assured me everything was fine. Now we are noticing the "Christmas Tree" outline again after I diligently treated the wall and used the appropriate paint after removing all the old paint.

    I am continually getting the "run around" by the contractor and Home Serve when I ask them to correct their mistake under warranty. Two contractors came out and the men who I spoke with actually agreed that there is still a leak. The companies seem to have purposely passed on false testimony to HomeServe. I do not trust any of them and could not recommend them to anyone as a competent source for completed repairs. I am pursuing more discussions and will continue to hope they will show integrity and totally fix our issue.

We are extremely disappointed with HomeServe for sending a non-BBB-accredited company in response to our crisis. In addition, my husband's calls to your HomeServe phone line were fruitless!

    People showed up and were rude and wouldn't help, did what they were told from the rep who placed the order. Which leads me to believe the rep on the phone didn't listen to me when I said I needed the inside snaked like last time and even had the rep go back and look at ticket notes from last September when this happened then.     I had Baker plumbing come out Two times this past month. I have had excessive amount of water surrounding my property but both yes they couldn't find the source of the leak. I also can hear a drip coming from the water heater area behind a wall in front bedroom. They couldn't hear it even though I did. They wanted $800 to take out heater to inspect the fittings and valves. HomeServe wouldn't pay the fee because no standing water in the area. If it's a small leak there needs to be a camera put thru the wall to see if it can be located first.

    The Contractor has no fully stocked repair truck, uses personal vehicle with little tools or supplies and no advanced Technology like a camera for probing or water detection equipment. Highly unlikely to find anything except an obvious gusher like that. Still hear the drip and will need to call another contractor on own that has proper leak detection equipment to properly find the source. Not too happy with this Service.

    I have several contracts with Home Serve that I have held for several years. The first time I tried to use the service was when my external sewer line was clogged and sewage was coming into my home. I was unable to use any of the facilities in my home. I called around 5 pm on a Thursday to report the issue. In about a half hour I was called by a provider that told me they had 4 more calls that evening and would not get to me until the next day. Since I could not use the facilities he told me he would inform home server that they needed to get someone else there.

    I waited a while to get a call again, no contract so I called home server again. They told me that they tried to get in touch with other providers but could not. I do not live in a rural area - there are plenty of providers within 10 miles of my home. I have them names to contact. They said that they would have to get it approved by management to work with these companies. She would call me back. I waited about an hour with no response so I called back. Was told they were still waiting for a response from management. The latest anyone would work was 10 pm, at this point it was 7 pm. He told me someone would get back to me with three hours, but they did upgrade my ticket to "urgent". I was told that if I got someone on my own to do the work they would consider paying for it. So my husband and I had to use a bucket in our garage to go to the bathroom thru the night until someone finally came at 10:30 the next morning. My husband and I both had to take the day off of work. I never did receive another call from the company that evening. Terrible customer service. They have no problem taking your money but don't want to help when you have an issue. Will not renew any of my contracts with this company ever.

    Since HomeServe took over I've made a total of 8 claims. One of them was for HVAC work in mid January when the weather was in the teens. Their rep called TWO WEEKS later (obviously I found someone to do it). For every OTHER claim I've made, all they ever say is "that's not covered". I'm seriously thinking of making a formal complaint with the State Attorney General's office. How could I comment on your service when I never GET any?

    It's been years since I joined HomeServe. I got something in the mail. I've been with them for maybe about 10 years. Submitting a claim this time was great. The guy who came out was courteous and he fixed it efficiently. I've had two claims that were handled really well. They were small but the last two guys really did a good job. One of them was a leak behind the sink and one of them was with supply line problems, a leak going into the sink. Their contractors were courteous. When they ran into problems, they didn't try to put it off 'til another day. This last guy went right down and bought a part at Home Depot. And then my meter in the street wouldn't shut off so he advised me to get that fixed. As soon as they fixed it, they actually got out that day. I called back and he was out here and fixed it that same day. I was really impressed with that.

    I had a big problem about five years ago though, and I’m still not satisfied with that. The first time the guy from Plumb Genius came, I had a leak in the drain under the house. There was water standing under the house. They came out but didn't have a sump pump and I didn't have one either. They told me it was my responsibility to pump the water out from under the house. I did that but I thought that was BS. They came back out and they said they found possum tracks under my house, so they refuse to go under the house until I capture the possum. I've never captured a wild animal before in my life but I have a grandson who loaned me a live trapper but all I caught was a really irate squirrel.

    Three weeks later, they had finally agreed to come out and risk their lives and go under the house where there might be a possum. By that time, the problem had grown exponentially. Before that, there wasn’t feces in the water but after that, there was. It was my responsibility to pump it out. The guy that HomeServe used to contract said the company insisted they buy their own equipment, for one thing. They didn't provide them with a sump pump. This guy fixed it and it cost HomeServe $3,000. I had a guy that probably could have fixed it for a lot less than that and done a good job, and fixed it as soon as the problem arose.

    But now, even with these many years later, I don't leave the vent grilles open and the fan. There's this stench that comes up from under the house. I guess that'll be there until I die and this house is passed on to somebody else. I feel sorry for that person, but there's nothing I can do about it.

    After the initial deal, I didn't realize that there would be a problem like this. Once the leak was stopped and it dried up, there's always this problem. I will never use Plumb Genius locally either because they were just inept. The two guys that actually fixed it, they were good. Initially, if they had come out and fixed it, they had the equipment and they wouldn't have been afraid of the possum, it would have been fixed while it was just water from the washer or something like that.

    I was very upset when I had a claim for my septic tank. I had to replace the lid of my septic, which is $6,400 that I don’t have right now. They gave me a bill and I called to ask them if it was covered and they told me no. They only cover the line that goes from the waterline to the septic tank. That’s less than 1/2 feet from the door to the tank. It doesn’t make sense. At first, told me yes and for 200 feet. But now, they told me no. So I’m upset. It should be covered because I have insurance that say sewer and water. The septic line should be covered. HomeServe didn’t live up to the standard, like one expected.

    I’m very grateful that I did get the flyer of HomeServe ‘cause they helped me out a whole lot. Sometimes, I forget I have it, and I pay people to come in and fix what messed up. So, I just decided to organize everything so that if I need them and it’s an emergency, I can call them. They helped fixed issues with the outside plumbing. I also had an issue with my hot water heater a month ago. I didn’t call Homeserve ‘cause I forgot I had them. I called a person to come out that works on my house, and he fixed it. As soon as he fixed it, I found the paper. I called Homeserve to ask them if they could reimburse, they said no.

    But it’s not difficult to submit a claim to HomeServe. They only have two plumbers though. So, that was something different for me. When I asked the person who answered the phone, the customer service said they only had two plumbers that they dealt with. And one of the plumbers that he gave me the phone number of wanted to wait a week later to come. And a sewer had backed up at my home, and I couldn’t wait a week. So, they gave me a number of the other one, Hers & His Plumbing, and they came right on out. HomeServe should get some more plumbers to come out. And if I pay someone to repair something, maybe HomeServe can reimburse us back since we have the warranty. That’s the only thing I see wrong. Other than that, I like it.

    All the representatives from HomeServe have been nice, and submitting a service request has been easy. It usually takes three to four days for someone to come out. When I had a plumbing issue, they sent Leo's Plumbing out. They're excellent. I would recommend them to everyone. The tech took care of some problems. He was certified under my contract to do the outside of the sewage, and I called HomeServe and they allowed him to replace the toilet that their previous plumber took out. They allowed him to do that since he was here, and he did an excellent job. He did what I wanted him to do.

    I'm still dealing with the repercussions from the first plumber that came out though. He flooded my whole basement with sewer, and my homeowner's is working on correcting it. Most of their plumbers and other technicians have been wonderful and I've been very pleased. I just have this one bad experience with this one plumber. Also, I need copies of invoices to give to my homeowner's policy in order for them to cover it, showing them all what he did. I've called HomeServe three times. Until I get that paperwork, I'm not very satisfied.

    Very displeased because of misleading and misinformed warranty coverage sold in 2017. The warranty company told me my heater replacement is not covered for which I have been paying since 2017 through Dominion Energy company’s monthly payment. I was told, And, I was never provided any paperwork, that my hot water heater is 75 gallons and the warranty covers hot water heaters up to 66 gallons. I was further told that market does not sell 66 gallons hot water heaters. Market sells 65 gallon, 55 gallon and 50 gallon water heaters. The company was only able to install 50 gallons water heater. The other two, 55 gallons and 65 gallons are not available right away, will need special order and it will take another visit and unspecified days to get them. My wife and I are old people. So, we were left with no choice but to pay $1,995 out of pocket to get 75 gallons water heater installed immediately.

    Since this was very misleading coverage provided, I should be refunded the above mentioned amount. I hope, other people, especially senior citizens, are not sold similar misleading coverage. If I don’t receive a proper resolution, I do plan on filing a complaint with Dominion Energy and consumer service about our situation and will also request a refund our money that has been paid since 2017, for a warranty coverage that was never intended for a coverage, especially when I was never asked or told about the warranty up to non-existing 66 gallons hot water heater.     I had been having problems with my toilets running after flushing - When the plumber called for authorization to replace the flappers and handle mechanisms it was promptly denied and I was told if I wanted to have the work done i would have to pay $150. That was an outrageous price and I refused service. I had just received a bill from water company for 18,000 gallons which was most likely caused by the leaking toilet plumbing. I believe the repair should have been authorized and I am very unhappy because it wasn't.
