Stetzel Roofing & Slate Repair: LeRoy Stetzel and daughter, Jen recently repaired my 80 year old Slate Roof. I had been told many times by local roofers that I needed a new roof as Slate could not be repaired. Not True! The Stetzels gave me quality work with reasonable prices. They were very personable, accommodating and aimed to please. (They also cleaned and repaired my gutters.) They cleaned up the area before they left and I would not hesitate to call them again. I would highly recommend them for any type of roof work.

Homeadvisor saved me the time to have to find a reputable person to do the job. The only thing I do not like is that some of the people recommended by HomeAdvisor would call to confirm the appointment for an estimate and then try to say right before you confirm that there is a charge $$ for them to come out for the "free" estimate. If they charge for estimates it should be clearly stated in the profile. I personally would never pay for an estimate because if they can't afford to come out and give you a free estimate how are they going to use and buy the best materials for your job :o).

I found HomeAdvisor by accident while searching online for someone that made lawn irrigation repairs. I called a phone number I thought was a company that turned out to be HomeAdvisor. I have never used this service and have noticed several television commercials since. This is great. I now have access many services for my home. I will tell other people I know of my satisfying experience with HomeAdvisor.

I wrote HA informing them that a business listed on their site was including false information (advertising that they were BBB accredited, when BBB lists them as NOT accredited) in their business landing page. The response I received was that "we cannot make changes to a business' profile, so you will have to contact the business to discuss this." HA business model is to "connect homeowners with PRESCREENED, local service professionals to complete home improvement, maintenance and remodeling projects." If they not only don't truly prescreen (if they had this would have been an obvious error) and they won't correct a knowingly false/misleading advertisement on the website, their services are useless.

I've used HomeAdvisor for Fence Installation Recommendations/Quotes and Gutter Cleaning. The reviews seem to match the level of service... which is out of HomeAdvisor's hands. The process is easy enough. The only annoyance so far is one gutter cleaning company keeps sending me emails for gutter replacements and what not... which is not what I wanted. Tweaking my spam folder will handle that nuisance.

I have now contracted with 3 persons whose names and services I retrieved thru HomeAdvisor and would recommend all three of them. I will contact HomeAdvisor and probably contact the next time I am looking for help with my home.

Pleased with services provided, which included house, driveway, sidewalk power washing, and window washing. (Property is non-traditional in terms of layout and elevation, so services provided were probably a more challenging project than would normally be expected.) Providers were prompt, thorough and efficient. Arrived on time and completed work without difficulty or incident. Would recommend to other property owners and will hire again to perform similar services.

HomeAdvisor found a plumber within five minutes and he was here in about half an hour. The plumber did a great job and I am grateful to Vinnie and Home Advisor. It's great to have the water working again.

The website is easy to use. I have used all 3 of the professionals listed above and was very happy with all of them. I feel comfortable knowing HomeAdvisor have done background checks. The Home cleaners are now on a monthly schedule in my home. The Plumber is continuing to search for a long term, slow leak, and I just requested two quotes from Dry Wall experts.

I got a plumber from Home Depot who overcharged me and did not give me an itemized bill. I called HomeAdvisor, but they were not really helpful. I know others on my street have had the same problem. I do not think his reviews are real Kumars. So I have had good experiences and bad.

I hired Jeff ** of JSN Restoration & Remodeling to perform construction work related to the safety of my family based upon a 5 star rating from HomeAdvisor. HomeAdvisor recommended JSN Restoration & Remodeling for my work project. Jeff ** and I agreed upon a work proposal that he presented to me. I had to wait for a month before he could start the job, he told me. The day before the job was scheduled to be done, Jeff ** called me up and cancelled the job. He told me he was going out of town on family business and would get back to me the following week. He also told me that he would have his subcontractors call me to schedule the work he agreed to perform. Jeff ** never contacted me again, his subcontractors never contacted me and I was left holding the bag with a viga beam that supported my roof cracking and in jeopardy of collapsing, potentially causing injury or worse to my family and anyone visiting my home.

I submitted my request to HomeAdvisor website very easily and was contacted that day by multiple contractors. I had 3 quotes within a couple of hours. HomeAdvisor made it very easy to hire someone quickly. Also, having multiple quotes allowed me to find the best price for the job.

I had a bad experience with a contractor recommended by HomeAdvisor. In fairness I used them two other times with excellent results. The negative review I submitted to HomeAdvisor was rejected, in spite of my submitting documentation they requested. The positive reviews I submitted were published without delay. My advice is to take their ratings with a grain of salt, as they reject negative reviews.

I have used HomeAdvisor many times over the years and they have provided me with excellent contractors to do the jobs (repairs/maintenance) that I needed!! Landscaping, Electrical, Windows, Plumbing, etc. Rather than go to the phonebook or internet - start and end with Home Advisor.

I used WP landscaping to cut my grass, edge, and weed whack. They did an awful job. When I complained they came back out to “fix” the issue but it ended up looking the same. They did not answer my next email or return a phone call. They never came back to do my lawn. I had to hire another company. Very unprofessional.

I have had generally good experience with HomeAdvisor. The reps follow up to see whether I have had responses to my requests for quotes, and when, on occasion, I had no responses, they gave me names of other contractors to contact.

Replaced sink. Put in soap dispenser and instant hot water dispenser. Moved all drains to fit new sink. Work was done perfectly and my kitchen was left as clean as when plumber arrived. Could not have been happier with this installation.

My gutters wasn't attached to my house, when it rain the water came down like a waterfall. This has caused damage to the inside of my home. Thanks to HomeAdvisor the gentleman came right away to repair my damage gutter, I'm very satisfied.

Power Washing Home Siding: Dan arrived on time, we walked around the house so I could show him what areas were being done. He and his helper worked quickly but not hurriedly, and finished up in two hours and cleaned up after themselves. My house looks nice and clean again! Dan also recommended some roof cleaning work, but was not pushy about it. I will probably look into that at a later date. I will definitely use his services again.

I have been pleased with HomeAdvisor. Have used it twice. Once for appliance repairs and once for tree removal services. I like that the professionals call or contact me quickly and seem to want my business but are not pushy. I have used two guys that are small business owners and have been very pleased with the work and their genuine desire to do the work and to do it well.

Removing two big dead trees (cottonwood) at edge of property. Some thick branches hanging over plastic fence. Yeary Tree service crew did absolutely fabulous job, safely and fast. Excellent clean up after. Very satisfied and will highly recommend to anyone.

You recommended 4 companies. Two called me immediately AdvantaClean and Air Specialties. They scheduled appointments to make estimates. They both explained the process of mold removal but the process explained by Air Specialties was much more thorough and was guaranteed. I called Insta Dri for an estimate. They were going to spray a chemical throughout the house which would kill everything mole, viruses, bacteria etc. That did not make sense. I would recommend that you remove them from the list. I am very happy with the work by Air Specialties.

Had to find a tree service to remove a large tree damaged from a storm. HomeAdvisor provided an efficient process at finding a local company that was able to come in quickly - and at a fair price - and complete the job.

HomeAdvisor made a project I had struggled to get completed for some time easy to finish. I had many pros to select from, and they were all professional. I appreciated working with the quality professionals, and routing it through HomeAdvisor made it all the easier. As I will be renting out my home while I move out of state, I will be relying on HomeAdvisor for the foreseeable future.

Dao Construction is not the most punctual bunch but they certainly make up for it in speed, quality, neatness and accuracy in detail. They only took a little less than two days to install 560 ft of flooring and underlayment after ripping out the old wall to wall. Once the new flooring was down, they replaced all of the baseboards with hardwood and it looks incredible. The crew was extremely polite, was mindful of the neighbors and worked well with the condo association office. I was concerned because I was going entirely on HomeAdvisor's Recommendations and did not actually know anyone that had used them. I WAS VERY HAPPY with the end result and they will be the first ones I call for my next project.

HomeAdvisor put me in almost immediate contact with qualified, professional repair contractors. Results were that repairs were arranged and completed within hours of first contacting HomeAdvisor. Contractor arrived on time and completed the work repair as described. Costs were reasonable for level of work performed.

My only complaint is that my info is given to companies and those companies literally call me 5 times a day each. I’ve used HomeAdvisor twice and both times this continues for several weeks after the project is completed.

In addition to the quality of the firms they have all been very timely in providing quotes and have adhered to the promised schedule(s). Based on my experience with HomeAdvisor I would look to them first in trying to identify a contractor.

From the arrival of the company (DM Tree Service) representative to the tree and stump removal, I am very pleased with this company. The work was complete and the yard was neat at the end of the work. Great care was taken to not damage other plants and yard items. The owner called a couple days after the work was completed. Unfortunately, I couldn't be home at the time of the work. I was pleased at what I saw when I got home.

Excellent customer service. I had asked for a partial refund and customer service intervened on my behalf. They were professional and willing to work to secure a partial refund for me when I had a dispute with a vendor. They were professional. Customer service was polite.

Can find experts in almost any area. The limits may be due to the location the service is being requested, smaller towns will have fewer pros. That is normal and shouldn't be used against HomeAdvisor as their service pulls from established pros in the area being requested for the project.

Basement tank removal - I was very pleased with Anchor Bay Services and I am glad they were posted on HomeAdvisor. The price was good and they explained everything to me (including township inspection). They took out the pipe leading to the outside and cemented the opening so no rodents could get into the basement.

Water damaged to ceiling in the kitchen area. I am a house owner and Drywall was replaced and finished with smooth surface by Carlson restoration company. I painted the area with no problems. Project was done very nicely. I should have cover the areas before the project began to avoid dust spreading in the surrounding areas.

HomeAdvisor recommended a service provider who responded within minutes of our inquiry and knocked it out of the park in terms of efficiency, courtesy, and satisfaction. Sometime during the 2nd week of March 2018 I contacted HomeAdvisor for a project to install pull down stairs for my attic. After HomeAdvisor's gave me John **'s contact number I called John ** and made an appointment March 21st. Mr. ** came by the house and gave me an estimate for the job. He said that he required $108.00 deposit. I issued a check for $108.00. We made a 2nd appointment and unfortunately I was not able to make that appointment. We made a 3rd appointment around the 1st week of April. Mr. ** didn't show nor did he call. I called him and he gave me all kinds of excuses. The 4th appointment was scheduled but the same thing happened. He never showed nor call so by this time I wanted my money back. He said he will give it to me and made an appointment for him to drop off the check. He never showed nor did he call.

Very fast, I only heard from one source, the first and only electrician to call/contact me. However, the contact who called me was knowledgeable, provided guidance that did not cost and more money. It would have been nice to have more than 1 bid. I went with the electrician who HomeAdvisor connected me with and I'm very satisfied with the work completed.

This is my first time using HomeAdvisor because I needed a concrete shed pad for my backyard. They recommended a contractor that had no business license on the name listed on HomeAdvisor. Long story short, I am out $1,200 because they showed up once to ruffle up the grass and cover it with crushed rock. Concrete was never poured. Their number was changed. The address was for a tattoo business. Calling HomeAdvisor to assist me on this unscrupulous contractor is simply a waste of time. They offer to get a hold of the contractor. Good luck when they change their number. HomeAdvisor blatantly leaves this contractor listed on their website for more referrals even after other homeowners have left 1 star reviews of jobs uncompleted. This is the last time I will be using this referral service. Extremely poor vetting process on anybody wanting to create a fake business name to immediately take people's money and disappear.

Had a broken glass in my double window in my living room. Shopped around for prices until I found "Home Advisor". They gave me multiple options and it was easier to find what I needed easy and quick. Great prices and great experience overall.

We had two windows that were original to the house when it was built in 1981. Both needed to be replaced. The new windows were installed and look wonderful. The installation itself was incredibly clean. Everything was cleaned up when they were done and the windows were spotless. They made the front of the house look wonderful.

HomeAdvisor essentially pushed Hiller on me for my electric project, even though others were rated higher. HomeAdvisor called me and connected me to Hiller. Hiller tech was almost two hours late and charged a lot for the job. I would never consult HomeAdvisor again or use Hiller.

Instead I received a phone call and a follow email, the calls I received within 15 mins were from companies I recognized. All I had to do was make appointments. Bug and rodent treatment. Service was friendly, on time, and thorough. They (Ouachita Termite and Pest Control) offered me what I wanted, single treatments rather than monthly contract. I rate them 5 star and will call them again if the need arises. I am glad I used HomeAdvisor.

I found a window company on HomeAdvisor, company is Precision Green representing PlyGen windows. The guy met with me, we did a contract and 5 windows were installed. I paid as installation occurred then he requested a $3283.50 deposit for the next set of windows. When he never called to confirm the next round of installation I called him and he claimed he had to let his installer go. From that point on he never responded to my voicemails, never returned my money and never completed the job. I want to sue HOMEADVISOR - any attorneys taking them on for the consumers?

We have looked for references from HomeAdvisor twice in the past 5 weeks, and have been very pleased with the response and quality of work. The trades have called quickly and the follow-up has been excellent both on the part of HomeAdvisors, and the trades.

Required plumbing repairs under the kitchen sink with the issue being bad drainage and leaking under the sink. And was put in touch with a company that undertook the project the very next day and was very satisfied with the communication and quality of repair. Technician was on time and performed the project with good communication. Would utilize the service again in the future on any project or repairs. Highly recommended.

Pure Defense Pest Solutions is a Polite and Professional pest control service. They Came out as scheduled and sprayed the outside and inside of my residence. Pure Defense uses a contract so you must cancel within 30 days if you don't want the contract to renew. They also guarantee their work and will come back out if needed. I haven't had to do that. All I know is I don't see anymore wasp.

So far so good. I got a great company to come do some odd jobs around my house. I was a bit concerned when I saw the service I used had three bad reviews. I inquired with the office lady and I am glad I gave them a try and they really impressed me from the initial call to the finish jobs they did for me.

Wow!! Just a great company that KNOWS hot tubs. They managed to replace bad parts (the heater, ozonator and other parts), clean up a mess, refill and reset the entire system in ONE AFTERNOON. They didn't leave until they were satisfied that everything was working properly. They are now our regular service company!

Scam from the beginning, from a contractor's view. Charles was salesman, said I would have "area exclusivity" so I wouldn't be competing against everyone. I was to receive "great" referrals. I thought I'd give it a try. That call cost me $350. Within minutes, a lady called and started talking all about her bathroom pipes and I could tell the call was going to take quite a while. I was right in the middle of a job holding a beam. I apologized and said I would need to call her back very shortly. Within an hour, I called her back and she said she had already gotten someone else and was taken care of. ENLIGHTENMENT... in this small, mountain community, if she had another contractor already, there is OBVIOUSLY NO EXCLUSIVITY!

I'm still learning the processes and navigation of the website. There are some aspects of the site that are somewhat mysterious. I do appreciate the prompt response, by both HomeAdvisor and by the contractors. The live-chat feature is a bit difficult to operate -- they don't seem to be very patient with those of us who are less technologically adept.

Helpful place to locate a contractor. Enjoyed the experience and most importantly, it was a success. Yes, there were some concerns. Too few companies have websites or a Facebook presence, so obtaining more insight was a challenge. Two contractors never responded. There was a big range to the quotes: High bidder's estimate was three times that of the low bidder.

I've only used HomeAdvisor once but I found a great roofer on my first attempt. I was completely surprised that someone could come and do the job so quickly and reasonably priced. I highly recommend this service and will be using it again the next time I need a contractor at home.

Paint exterior of house. Replaced all rotten wood trims, pressure washed and paint all wooden materials. Sand and paint metal railings. Work was done in a timely manner and supervisor was very pleasant and easy to work with. He was very understanding when anything was brought to his attention in terms of work that needed to be completed or finished.

Repairs were done to my porch railings (3 porches) and made ready for painting. The repairs were done in a fair amount of time with no problems with his equipment and supplies. Having the right equipment saves time and make the job done right.

Another site gave two concrete driveway references, 2 asphalt installers, a couple of roofers and other "services" that had no relevance to my project.

I finally had to shut off the system because it was generating so many irrelevant projects it was taking too much time, and charging $18 per call. Be warned. There are better options out there.

HomeAdvisor provides a decent resource for the average homeowner and though they provided information on and the ability to contact multiple providers, some of those providers do not respond, though this is out of Home Advisor's control. There should be a better feedback mechanism for these providers.

I don't like the fact that they basically make you schedule an appointment instead of giving you the information on at least 3 contractors to do the work. The whole system is extremely confusing and not at all user friendly.

The Air conditioner wasn't turning on and especially on the past hot days - we all suffered in our home. I called that night and Phil immediately called me back and I scheduled an appointment for the following day. The mechanic came the next day and fixed the issue. Wallpaper border removal - Chris is on time, works fast and does quality work. He does something most workers will not do and that is he cleaned the work site after the job was done. I had a horrible mess with border that was stuck to the paint on my sheetrock. He worked patiently enough to remove it without drywall damage. He filled in the dings with mud and sanded. He has a keen eye for detail. I would highly recommend him. Also I am extremely impress with HomeAdvisor. Their follow through is off the charts. HomeAdvisor rocks!

I would prefer that the list keep within a certain radius if so indicated. I will use this web site again, but will also use another to find contract workers or business to hire.

I initially called HomeAdvisor over the Memorial Day weekend with a kitchen flooding problem with my sink drain. HomeAdvisor could not seem to find someone to help, so I called an outside vendor. They did not seem to fix the problem and I called HomeAdvisor this week to get someone out to fix it. They did come out on time and fixed the issue. The only concern I had was that the initial call to HomeAdvisor did not have anyone available the first time. In the end, I paid twice before the problem was fixed. The plumbing issue was an emergency because my kitchen was being flooded 4 times in 2 days.

Called one - they came out and tried but a company policy prevented them from going on roof to complete job. Instead they advise that they can only suspend membership for a duration of time.
