So far, I find HomeAdvisor the best source for my home repair needs. I know that, if all fails that I can always count on HomeAdvisor for locating any professional services for any home repair that may be needed.

This service is very good for quick results and immediate action of any home issue. Now keep in mind the person on the other end might not always be best for your line of work, so you might need a little home knowledge otherwise you might get taken for a ride even with a good contractor as they might not have the approach you need. Overall a great website though, very polished and very helpful for a rental company such as mine.

It was super easy for us to replace our furnace and air conditioner using this service. HomeAdvisor sent us very qualified companies to choose from, and this gave us several options. We were able to pick a company that fit with our budget. Would use this again in the future for other projects around the house.

HomeAdvisor claims to have a strong system of intervening in case of disputes with contractors. They just check the boxes and hardly do anything to resolve the dispute. Case in point, after I made a formal complaint regarding Victor Lawson (unprofessional contractor I ended up hiring based on HomeAdvisor's paid recommendations and reviews), they were not able to take care of the issue and finally referred me to FairClaims, a third party arbitration settler. FairClaims did the hearing and I was awarded monetary damage but there is no help from neither HomeAdvisor nor FairClaims yet in actually enforcing the award. There is no live person or phone to talk to about it. I have been having a hard time trying to find anyone to respond to my emails.

I used Home Advisor to select a lawn care service in my (rural) area. The business they recommended turned out to be a great company to do business with. Top quality work from day one. I would recommend their service for your next project or continuing hire.

HomeAdvisor has listed a company name with our company. The State of Texas will not allow other companies to register a name similar to an existing company name. Our company, Draper Floors is registered with the State of Texas. HomeAdvisor listed a company name of Draper Floor that isn't registered with the State of Texas. We requested HomeAdvisor not to continue to list Draper Floor and they refused our request. Draper Floors has reported this issue to the Secretary of State of Texas.

Do not sign up as a contractor for this company. Read the fine print, terms and conditions. If you sign up they have the right to use your business name in any way. Including posting on internet sites and rerouting all the incoming call to their company and sending the customers to other contractors. This is legal if you sign. This happened to my son. They basically stole his company so all his customers that he built up are now redirected to another contractor. This is horrible. They also make up other companies with the same name as yours but slightly different so they get all those calls as well. We will be willing to join any class action lawsuit but in the fine print you agree not to do that. I bet there is a way. Any attorneys willing to try?

I came to HomeAdvisor as I needed a plumber and past experiences had not been good. There were 3 recommended to me and one called within minutes of my request on HomeAdvisor. The plumber showed up on time, was knowledgeable, efficient and professional. I highly recommend HomeAdvisor when needing repairs and services.

My recommendation is that HomeAdvisor allow the consumer to review pro choices and prices BEFORE scheduling. I was surprised to be scheduled right away with a price range of 50 to 500 dollars. I had to get in contact with the company to find out what the cost would be. I did not expect that. In addition, at some point, my messages reached two people. It seemed like they could see on their end who it was, but not me (a bit confusing).

On three different occasions I have had the need for hvac work, what I find is that the ones provided by HomeAdvisor all say that they have the utmost integrity for the customer and highest quality standard. They were also listed as servicing my area, but yet they are apparently such an independent field that they do not respond, but then again the latest request showed that the contractor did service my area and was only approx 10 miles away but when I submitted the request, via the 2 window dropdown menu, it came back that they DO NOT service my area which is in the same county. Go to their website and it clearly shows that my city is listed as one of their service areas.

I have hired 4 pros through HomeAdvisor so far and all of them have been top notch. The work was done fast, done well, and all of them were superb to deal with. Prices were very reasonable and fair as well. I will continue to hire pros through home advisor and will recommend it to anyone who needs work done in their home.

I hired three pros through HomeAdvisor and have left 2 reviews of the three required to take part in their $50.00 Awards Program. However, after the fact, I found that I do not get credit for one of my Pros I hired because they were not on the original list submitted to me by HomeAdvisor. I did not like any of the Pros on the first list submitted so I went back in a requested additional Pros. I was not informed that I had to use someone off of the original list submitted to me in order to partake in the Rewards Program. This is totally a deception to the consumer. User beware if you are planning on the $50.00 reward.

I had three pros respond and the first response was immediate. He got up super early to squeeze us into his busy schedule so the customer reviews were right on. At first, I was kinda surprised by the auto-booking of the service, but I called the company and we worked out the best time for service.

Cons: For those who are not handy, a tool that allows a search for available handymen/women is useful, appreciated and often necessary. It is also frustrating and you always end up hoping you chose the right one. Pros: I found a handyman but it may turn out that he is going to rip off my 80-year-old mother because he got a deposit and has been a no-show twice.

Called another company and they could come in out in 3 days. Refrigerator leaking water all over floor and needed help now. Justin and his partner came out, same day, checked over freezer and refrigerator top to bottom. Informed me of the condensation and explained things, felt they knew their business!! The company wanted too much money for the time spent. We should have gotten another bid. They did not do what they said they would do. They were to check the roof leakage via the attic. We figure that each worker makes on the order of $200/hr.

Palm tree stump and oleander root system - stumps were removed in less than an hour. Good price and quick work. It didn't take long for my request to be answered. I received 2 offers, but Damon was the only willing to take on the job; the other seemed not willing to do anything except simply stump grinding.

Explained what the job entailed and price, did what he said he would do and any options if it did not. Came on the day he said and job was done, no mess, no damage and was very professional. I explained that I have a well, and he told me that the power washer he uses is on the smaller side and would not use that much water. No specific amount was given, but was okay by me to do the job. HomeAdvisor is a company dedicated to taking care of customers but treats the Contractors that make HomeAdvisor a business to begin with like they have no value whatsoever. I was charged for jobs that the husband signed up to have the work done by a Home Advisor pro and found out his wife had already hired someone outside of HomeAdvisor to have the work done. HomeAdvisor charge all three contractors a fee even though the work had been completed by someone outside the network saying "It was a legitimate job therefore we have to charge you."

Not only were the leads very very unsuccessful to even say the least HomeAdvisor makes my company look like complete idiots by the horrible and importer grammar used to describe my business down to the misspelling of the city. I have called and called and called. To get them to get my information off there site with still no success. They also laid calm to my business on Google so I cannot even set up a account myself.

Recently I spoke to a salesperson at HomeAdvisor (Tv advertisement). I gave her all the info to get started. I changed my mind after review within 24 hours. I called at 9 a.m. Friday to cancel, They charged my card and refuse to return deposit for 30 days, I'm not sure if this legal but I do know it's scammy.

I signed up with them for $288.00 then I was supposed to pay for leads from a 10 mi radius around my zip code. The first lead I got was 60 miles away. That was days ago & out of the 4 emails I got when they were trying to get me signed up, not one can help me now that they have the fee. Could not be much worse.

Home Advisor is a great place to find recommended pros for every aspect of home repair and remodeling. It really helps to take the guesswork out of deciding who to call. Perhaps a little more communication and follow up emails than necessary, but I was happy with all three pros I hired from their recommendations.

Work was performed to our great satisfaction. Every step and option along the way was clear. Work was exceptionally professional. Our experienced electrician found most of our problems very quickly. He went out of his way to clean the work area and left everything cosmetically perfect (as far as his job is concerned).

We removed the old gutters ourself in a matter of several hours. We hole filled and painted the Facia and corners where new downspouts we’re going as well. This saved a lot of cost. Painters were booked out until next spring anyway, as we have a short out of doors working period due to elevation... HomeAdvisor helped us pick the company we used for our seamless gutter installation.

Garage door mechanism was making a loud banging noise as though it was slipping on its track. The service person adjusted the J connector and oiled the tracks in approximately 20 minutes. It sounds and operates fine now. The service was good and the response was immediate. We received numerous references from HomeAdvisor. The top roofer "Paramount" came out twice (did not provide estimate on first trip) to get an estimate. Many of them never returned our calls. A month later we called Paramount again and he finally came out. The quote was $36000, but they had a sale and knocked the price to $24,000. My neighborhood was hit with a bad storm and most neighbors are having their roofs replaced.

Finding a pro contractor was easy. I hired the contractor, scheduled a review of my job, and contracted the work to LL Michaels Company, Landscape & Home Renovation in Dallas, GA. It was downhill from there. This contractor was a nightmare! He tried to rip me off by charging 2x as much as he settled on (1st bid $1800, negotiated to $975), didn't show up on time for the job, didn't show up as requested when rescheduled, then cancelled on site the day of the appointment because I thought we had agreed that he would "haul" the excess dirt away.

We have made appointments with two companies to build a stone wall. They never showed up. I tried to call HomeAdvisor and I got some advertisement with no person to talk to. This service is horrible!!! We hired someone to do drywall from them. They didn't use a drop cloth. Got paint all over the floor. Scratched up the bathroom sink. They were sloppy. I will never use this service again.

I needed to replace the entire A/C system on a condo I own in Florida, I live in New York. I spoke with Esteban over the phone, he was very knowledgeable, professional, and courteous. He educated me on the type of system I have in my condo and the options available to me. I definitely "shopped around” but decided to go with PMI because Esteban seemed to know exactly what needed to be done. The entire job was completed within a few days of me contracting with Esteban/PMI. No issues, the work was done neat and on time and the price was reasonable. Esteban is a very nice man and very easy to work with.

Added additional electrical panel. No disruption to the business. It was done very fast and most importantly clean. Arrival time was exact. Would definitely recommend to other business and would consider for any other projects that we might have in the future.

Found a plumber (South Shore Plumbing) on Home Advisor easily and they turned out to be a great choice. First time ever using Home Advisor and it made the search simple and easy. Plumber showed up when promised and stayed with the job that required SCWA to come and repair the valve at the street.

Here are some other FACTS about HomeAdvisor: They will respond to this review and say: "Homeowners are not always comfortable giving their real phone number or real physical address. We have no control over that." Or, "HomeAdvisor can’t control homeowners answering their phones or not," Or, "HomeAdvisor is sorry you had a bad experience and HomeAdvisor always refunds money to pros for leads. You can always call HomeAdvisor and they will fix anything. Blah blah blah." It’s ALL **! HomeAdvisor has stolen enough money from big and small business’s “Pros” that they could afford to purchase Angie’s List.

I am so happy I know about this website! It makes finding a company for any home project so easy. I have always gotten quick responses and they even follow up after the project is complete. Trying to find a company on your own can be daunting. Where do you begin on google!? HomeAdvisor does the work for you.

This is the third time I have used this company for work and I have always been pleased by the people I have hired. I have hired for two different yard clean-ups and for deep cleaning my tile floors and grout.

We had a good experience with finding a general contractor through Home Advisor. We didn't, however, find great people for projects the contractor didn't do. The wall paper guy we first contacted wasn't responsive enough, for example. And I couldn't find anyone to sew drapes so ordered custom drapes online which was expensive. We found our own company to do cabinet remodels and granite counter tops. Those projects turned out great, so we were lucky. ;-) Overall, Home Advisor is a good company.

Home Advisor was able to find an audio/visual company within a day that fulfilled the requirements of the job very quickly. They were helpful on the phone getting additional quotations for future jobs that are in the planning stages. Home Advisor also checks to see if I am satisfied with the work and that is completed. I feel like they have our interests in mind.

I am pleased that there is a service such as HomeAdvisor to help find competent trustworthy help with various projects. With the many "reviews" online on Yelp or Google or such do not feel so confident that they are legitimate. We have not been let down with any of the projects I scheduled through Home Advisor.

HomeAdvisor call and misrepresent their leads, charging for lead that are not answered, I put the account on hold and asked for someone to call about leads, no returned call, called several times, finally got someone to answer, She told me the account would be cancel and that they would be no charges. Call customer service stating they would not do anything. (Note they state they record all conversations. But the recordings can be change to they advantage or they could lose or destroy the records). Even if they told you they would address the problem, you have to have a e-mail or voice recording to prove it. The customer service rep. stated he believed me about the sales rep, but they have a recording stating I agreed to paying for leads not called.

I needed a nest of yellow-jackets by my front door attended to. I went to HomeAdvisor, entered my information and described the problem and heard back immediately from an exterminator. We set up an appointment for the next morning. This was very speedy and efficient service on the part of HomeAdvisor and the exterminator. I was very pleased with this. It worked through text messaging to HomeAdvisor and then a phone call from the exterminator. Well done!

I had two different estimates, and the one I chose was very detailed and specific on the type of insulation I was getting, as well as the breakdown of price in writing. I had done my research, and knew what I would be spending for the size of my home, but this company was very professional in its estimate, everything in writing. The work was done in a timely and efficient manner.

As I have many times in the past, I went on the HomeAdvisor website to request a list of reputable contractors to address a specific need. HomeAdvisor provided me with a good list, like they have every other time before, and I found and used a good plumber who did a great job. Very satisfied with the results.

Needed to mount tv above fireplace and pull cable through the attic and fish the cable line. Installer cut a hole in the sheetrock and pulled the cable in to attach to the tv. He bought a tv mount for us, which was great, but then we decided to get a different type. He worked clean as he went and cleaned up dust once he was finished. He was responsive to our urgency to get this done today.

My experience with this service was very helpful. I was able to find a company to perform the work needed within 24 hours of finding them through Home Advisor. The remaining two were competitive and the contractor we had do the work was excellent. They explained options for the work and recommended the most price effective solution.

Bill did a very good job and the finished product looks great. He's honest and hard working and his price was very reasonable. I will recommend him to others who need brick or stone work or repairs.

This past month's going back to March I had this guy contracting under this lady that had her own cleaning service. I would report her on problems I was having with the guy cleaning and washing clothes and the restroom and making my bed. She have him do another way and again he wouldn't do the job I asked of him. In two months he only changed the sheets on bed once, haphazardly did the sheets and always had me refold what he had folded. He wouldn't clean and mop and in three months only one room had gotten help. It wasn't swept or mopped at any point and he said he would mop the floor and I'd go in and it would be dry.

Some things you may need to know first: 1 - They are going to charge you around $550.00 upfront to setup an account. 2 - They don't exactly advertise that you pay for the leads generated regardless if you get the job or not like $30.00 per lead up to $65.00 per lead (again it does not matter if you get the job) you still owe each lead. 3 - Your phone and email are going to start blowing up, but 80% of the time even if you call immediately the phone numbers are either invalid, or disconnected (WOW disconnected in only 2 min) and even if it is coincidence you mean to tell me I am supposed to quote a job when this person can't pay their phone bill (It's EITHER THAT OR HomeAdvisor is generating fake leads to run up your bill).

I needed a patio door repaired so tried HomeAdvisor. I selected Sliding Doors Express. They texted me that night and I set up an appointment for the next day, today between 10-12. They arrived at 12:30 after two calls. I asked the guy where his truck was and he told me he came in his car. Small concern. He came in and replaced two patio door rollers ($225), the lock mechanism ($85) and installed a pin lock ($15). I was shocked by the price thinking around $200. I later called Walts Repair noted for being good but a tad pricey and they quoted me about $225. Concern 2. I think I really overpaid especially since I was serviced by a guy in his car. When paying, I wrote a check to Bluestar Management. The business card that the guy left me was for Tri-County Sliding Door Repair and the sticker left on the patio door listed the company I assumed I was dealing with, Sliding Door Express. Concern 3. I do not think that I will ever use Homeadvisor.com again.

I would recommend Lucky’s Tree Service to everyone. He stated he would be at our house and 7:59am he was pulling into our driveway. Fast, clean and very friendly and polite. I think the cost was very reasonable and fair.

Found someone in my neighborhood who did a great job and was here to do what I needed in less than 24 hours! Put together and bed and moved a heavy piece of furniture. They will be coming back to improve closets and fixed a railing. Overall, I was very impressed.

Two contractors contacted me the same day and came to the house within two days. Estimates were submitted within a week. The contractor I chose did an excellent job and was always accessible and ended up doing a terrific job.

Home Advisor did give me what I needed -- an excellent roofing company that did an excellent job on my roof. I did not know I was calling Home Advisor, I thought I was calling the roofer directly. I was confused at first but it ended up being okay.

I recently started fixing up my home with some pretty big projects - C/A, plumbing, painting, windows, etc. I have hit a home run with each professional I have found and hired through HomeAdvisor. Once a project goes up on their web page, phone calls and texts start within minutes. But most importantly, HomeAdvisor monitors each project and wants feedback on all professional to eliminate those who do not perform to their standards. As a single woman, I feel very comfortable with the suggestions and recommendations I receive. HomeAdvisor has been a life saver for me.

I called HomeAdvisor and had three calls within a couple of minutes at 4:30 pm - for the repair or replacement of the garbage disposal. I was very happy with the promptness and the options they offered. I will certainly call them for any needs in the future - as there will be - no doubt.

I found this company through HomeAdvisor and I will never recommend it to anyone, first they never show up the day of the appointment and later they send me an email with a different schedule for the next day, they sent me an electronic certificate although I have already told them that I need the paper copy for the city, it only took a whole week to get it on the mail after I call them two times and when we went to the city they told us it was wrong, one more time I call Landmark to get it fix and this time I talk to a lady call Brianna ** with absolutely no manners and no IDEA what customer service is especially when people pay in advance for a service and she argue with me over the phone for more than 30 minutes until she finally agree to call to my city to find out she was wrong and I know this because in less than 30 minutes I got my elevation certificate fixed, but it does not end here.

I greatly value the Home Advisor App because it gives me clear and straightforward leads and information regarding available companies to do work in a variety of areas. The app is user-friendly and the response time is quick! Home Advisor is a lifesaver!

The recommendation and the work done was great. On one project I was able to contact the pros myself without waiting on them. On the other, I have to wait. I prefer to be able to contact them immediately if possible.

First, I was outright lied to repeatedly by Alex, their sales representative. I was told that the fee for a home inspection lead was $8.99. Alex told me that the leads are only going to 1 or 2 other tradesmen. This statement was an outright lie. Alex told me that there is an over abundance of leads with no tradesmen to fill the leads. Again, an outright lie as I have not gotten one lead in my immediate area. I have him on recording as proof.

Being in a rural area, it is hard to find qualified contractors for whatever I need done. Will use HomeAdvisor again and Down to the Wire electrical for sure. Very good service to have available when needed. Thank you.

Ceramic tile-remake of a shower - He re-made a shower that was old and leaking. Plumbing problems had gotten ruled out. The shower was non-fancy in that I chose only white be used. He did created a little alcove where the user could put shampoo and soap which had not been there before.

I am sorry to write this review on this company Cool Air in Port Richey. This man did not do a good job. After 2 weeks I had a callback and never returned, called over several times and there was always some excuse. I got so fed up I gave up calling and it is still not working. Had to get another company. Plus he charged a high price and did not put enough Freon. Do not waste your time. He is not worth the money!!!

I had a powered roof fan lose its cap while I was 40 miles away. Home Advisor has a category for this type of work, but the organizations on the list are electricians. The one I did work with had no ability to install a new fan, just wire one up that was already installed. After two attempts to get a pro with the projects specified and no returned calls or emails and almost a month with a 14" hole in my roof I tried the "handyman" path and had the fan installed in under a week. Home Advisor need to adjust the pros they line up for powered roof fan installations. My tip, the handyman query always gets good resources.

Home Advisor made it very easy to coordinate my project. Everything is laid out in a nice easy to use manner and makes the whole process seamless. I'm very happy with the service and will use it for all of my future projects.

Pest control company was very prompt in contacting me, and came out earlier than expected, they gave estimate and were able to come out soon after to complete the flea treatment. Only issue was that they did not inform me ahead of time that the fleas would not be completely dead for a couple of weeks.

When I first found HomeAdvisor 3 years ago I thought the concept was good and everything looked legitimate. So I decided to give it a try and found an HVAC contractor in my area called Service Today. There were over 100 "ratings" with an average rating of 4.9, which would seem to indicate that this company is extremely reputable. So I called them to fix my central AC/heat pump. During my appointment they told me that I had to buy a new unit so being a trusting consumer, I went with their recommendation.

The company that came to do the replacement was professional, knowledgeable and efficient. The time for the replacement took about 1/2 hour and we have had no problem(s) since. Furthermore, he put two Bricks under the Sump Pump to prevent rocks and stones from getting into the Sump Pump.

I requested a boiler replacement. The plumber was alleged to be a master plumber. On a 12K job, I found out much, much too late that the son, who was only a journeyman level, was posing as his father's business. I think perhaps that the father had retired. Make sure you do your own investigations, though these guys had the same name, up to "Jr", which I wouldn't have known to check. I got royally screwed on this. I will never trust this site again.

I booked a company for an estimate through HomeAdvisor and was not informed in any way that there would be a fee for the estimate. When I called them all I got was, "Sorry. You can write a bad review for the company that came." HomeAdvisor should be letting the customers know that there may be a fee associated with the technician coming to give you an estimate. Very rude reps and will never use them again.

Both projects were completed quickly, competently and at a reasonable price. The workers were courteous and professional in their conduct and appearance. Their work was done neatly and orderly and clean-up was done. I will hire either of these men for future projects in their area of expertise.

Recently I inquired about how HomeAdvisor worked for professionals. Miles got in touch with me and answered my questions. At that time I decided it wouldn’t be a good fit for our company and I told Miles that. He wouldn’t take no for an answer. Since then I have been getting harassing emails from him. It’s scary that he also has access to all of my contact information including my address. I’ve politely asked him to remove my information, I’ve been unsubscribing to their emails and for some reason I still get lots of emails for leads and from Miles as well. He crossed the line. I have stopped answered my phone for him but never hung up on him. He no longer leaves voicemails but will call a couple times in a row a few times a day.

I would have given them a 5, but a few companies completely ignored my service requests, and one company totally dropped the ball. I realize that you can't please everybody all of the time, and Home Advisor called me a few times to try to be of help.

The company doesn’t cull companies they use. I’ve had mostly good experiences but the mover was horrible. Be advised, do your own homework! Home Advisor gives you names and phone numbers, these folks contact you quite often, without an opportunity to look up reviews.

Nothing magical, just a little more industrial tools and the knowledge to know what is safe to do get to the clog. I'm an avid DIYer and there is not much I won't/can't tackle but knowing when to call a pro is a valuable asset. Finding the right person is the hard part. I pulled the top ranked plumber for my area and had a fair fixed bid within 10 min. He showed up on time and resolved the problem. I'll use this plumber again, as well as HomeAdvisor.

Hired a lawn service through HomeAdvisor. The gentlemen were very respectful and attentive to my needs and that should show that it's a reflection to HomeAdvisor. I have also, set up some meetings for a deck and also for windows. Both of those companies seem to be on point, as well. With that, in conclusion, everything seems very pleasing.

I have used HomeAdvisor on multiple occasions. Most recently I have used them for plumbing, fence repairs, and dryer repair. Today my dryer was repaired in about 10-15 minutes for a very reasonable price. I find Home Advisor to be very helpful and plan to continue using it.

This service can be dangerous. Use at your own risk. I received a phone call from a contractor who started cursing about how he provides the best service and that I should hire him. When I told him that I wasn't interested, he said he will show up to my house anyway and will start work. I am very uncomfortable to say the least. I contacted HomeAdvisor about what was happening and asked for some advice. The rep said that she couldn't help because I didn't have his name or phone number (used private number). The rep actually said that it was my FAULT for using a real address in the request. She kept insisting that I should have filled out the request without the address. When I told her that it cannot be done that way, she then said I should have put in a fake address... Don't use HomeAdvisor. You have no idea who they are sending out your information to. Call the companies yourself, directly.

My experience with HomeAdvisor was smooth and easy. I got several suggestions for contractors, I made some calls, and got a quick response from the contractor "Home Front Construction." The contractor I chose was prompt, courteous, honest, and thorough. I highly recommend both Home Front Construction and HomeAdvisor.

Apparently HomeAdvisor either intentionally or unintentionally has delivered my contact information to contractors who are cold calling trying to sell me windows. This line of home services has just cropped up this morning but after 3 calls in 15 minutes it is clear that something is amiss with the Home Advisor data security because I has made no such requests. Since Home Advisor does not seem interested in getting to the bottom of this issue please be advised that using their services or not using their services seems to be a path for getting even more unwanted cold calling from probably bottom of the barrel contractors.

I have use HomeAdvisor on several occasions now and have consistently found them to be immediately responsive with solid referrals. I will continue to use this service to locate qualified professionals for additional upcoming projects. Home Advisor has proven more helpful to me than the competing online service.

Logged in, answered too many questions, only got three contractors, then the page up, page down, link to reviews - none of these worked. Frustrating. And It seems all of these type sites - HomeAdvisor, Angie's List, Thumbtack...all use the same program. (Or are they all the same company!!) My best resource turned out to be the yellow pages! And there I didn't have to answer questions or give address and phone number!
