Always receive the recommended contractor call after put a service request. The follow up process does not leave the customer alone without any help. I will keep using Home Advisor service for my home projects, and will recommend friends to start using them as well. Reliable and convenient.

Provider (Hutson Tree Service; Anthony) This provider excelled on all accounts. There were no surprises or oops with this job. Anthony provided an estimate. They arrived on time and we are happy with the job. We would recommend and use again.

Glad I went with a contractor than trying to make it a "do-it-yourself" type of project which would have, no doubt, not resulted in the truly great completed job. HomeAdvisor extracts requests from companies and does not have the ability to correctly extract the services required. I receive calls and emails for days for services that I do not require. For example requested yard drainage and received multiple calls and emails for foundation drainage. A waste of my time and contractors. I will never use again as even after contacting customer service they do not correct service need.

Home Advisor gave me several excellent options for my projects. I would use them again. I would also recommend them to friends and family. The contractor for my basement was a good choice, and I've had painters do both my office and home. The hardwood floor contractors were excellent.

You took all my personal info to contact company and for future reference. You give rewards for using several companies and writing reviews.

4th project, very pleased with results. Takes some of the unknowns out of selecting a contractor. Reviews help immensely. This time it was water damage on ceiling from heavy rainstorm in August, 2018. Gutters overflowed from volume, water runs sideways into ceiling. Worrisome as to whether damage is more than surface stains, then to repair the stains. Ceiling work not for an amateur, in my opinion. Unless you are 25 years old.

A local contractor is a crook robbing many of their life savings. HomeAdvisor rates the contractor well allowing for false reviews by the contractor but not allowing for negative reviews even after notifying HomeAdvisor that the contractor has lost their license, bond and is being taken to court by several customers. Sad that HomeAdvisor is not a trustworthy source to find an honest contractor.

Had no idea this type of online service is available -- googled and found the website. Very easy website to use in order to submit your request for nearby contractor's to bid for the job. Was unsure where or how to begin but this turned out to be a wonderful overall experience. Thank you!!

What I most like about Home Advisor is you can readily find a contractor who can get on the job quickly. For example, this was a small move into a storage facility and the moving company they recommended could not get to me until 1 1/2 weeks. Home Advisor company could get to me just 2 days.

It was a Sunday night when I noticed a rather large hive on the far side of my house. The pest control company I used previously did not handle bees, so I decided to see what I could find in HomeAdvisor. I started entering my info late and did get a bit frustrated so I got out without completely finishing. But I guess they had enough info because I received a call from a pest control company at 10 am Monday. I live in a rural area, so I am not sure how many good bee removal companies are around. But the company HomeAdvisor hooked me up with was great. Had an onsite estimate that same day. Bee hive was gone by Tuesday. The owner and the service technician were friendly, knowledgeable, professional and on time. Couldn't have been more happy with both the service from D C Watkins Pest and HomeAdvisor. Both get a high recommendation. I will definitely use HomeAdvisor again.

I had requested estimates from three tree removal services in my area that I found on the internet. None of them even showed up to give an estimate, nor did they call to say they would not be coming. The provider recommended in HomeAdvisor called immediately to schedule the estimate, showed up exactly when he said for the estimate and also for the service, which was excellent. I will use HomeAdvisor for all my needs in the future.

We were only contractors with them for ONE month and we already canceled with them! They did NOT tell me they would charge me every week! They are trying to make me pay almost $1,000 just in one week when we didn’t get a single job from all the leads they sent!!! Imagine paying that much every week for an entire year! Yeah... we got out of that real quick! It would make more sense to charge us for each job we won instead of just for the information! Plus they sent us leads that the homeowners said they already had someone come out and fix it!

HomeAdvisor provided a few options and we chose the one that provided an estimate. We called 3 companies and only one of 3 companies replied to our request for an estimate. They got the job. Is there a way for the user to tell HomeAdvisor that you may have a large client base but they all don't want to work or they're so busy they'll only answer calls to the areas they want to work.

I own a small roofing and exterior contracting company. One of the HomeAdvisor reps called me about 3 times a week trying to have us join. Finally, we decided to give it a shot. He said it wouldn't take long to get started over the phone. No more than 10 minutes. I was on the phone for over an hour and finally we were good. He said to call him or email him any time and he would get back to us right away. Also to tell previous homeowners to review our site. I spend around 5 hours setting up our site and emailing old homeowners to review. One person said they spent 30 minutes reviewing on the site and they had to sign up. After all this their review doesn't show up. I also have called and emailed the guy who set our account up and can't get ahold of him. I am now trying to get my money back from them. Haven't had one roof lead in a month. Only gutter repairs.

With a few minutes Home Advisor notified me of available contractors in my area who could replace this defective non working lock. Within a few more minutes I was contacted by contractor who was able to do the job within a few hours. They did a very fine job and I would recommend them. I have worked with a number of contractors through Home Advisor and have spent the last 30" talking to two different representatives about a problem contractor that I have been trying to get to address problems for almost two months. NOW, Home Advisor tells me that it is going to be another 7 to 10 days before I am even contacted to discuss the problem. This is after they tell me that they didn't even refer me to the contractor in the first place.

When one pro did not respond, or in phone call follow-up with Home Advisor, the person was very helpful in tracking down help. As I am now in process of moving to another area of the country, and projects continue to arise, I am confident the service will help me find a repair-person, since I have no familiarity with the repair-persons in the new area.

This has to be the worst sham of a business I have ever had the experience of working within my entire life!! My disabled father of 55 years old wanted me to put him on HomeAdvisor after he claimed they would help him get jobs. I started him an account with a sale woman who did not clearly explain to me the process at all! She told me to just say "yes" to the recordings that played, and now they say that I consented to their awful business model. I did not accept any leads at all and got 0 work from HomeAdvisor and yet have a bill worth over $1000.

It was a bit cumbersome at the beginning to find a contractor close by. It would be great if the list showed you how close the contractor was. There is no indication of where they are located. Otherwise, it would pretty easy.

15 foot clogged 3" pipe. Slow draining sinks in the kitchen and one slow flushing toilet. Previous home owner ran grease down the drains causing the clog. Leave this work up to the Rooter Man and you will be very pleased with the results. Expedient and professional.

I posted a negative review about a drywall contractor recommended by HomeAdvisor. One day later, HomeAdvisor called to inform me that the contractor disputed my review, and that they demanded that I provide documentation to support my review. Frankly, that is totally absurd. HomeAdvisor survives on the fees they charge contractors that they recommend. I understand that business model. But, to question the dissatisfaction expressed by a customer who pays that contractor demonstrates that HomeAdvisor doesn't want reviews based on true customer experiences. Apparently, they want, and will only publish, positive reviews of their recommended contractors. For the record, my review is still "pending" due to my refusal to waste any more time and effort on this matter. I will never accept another recommendation from HomeAdvisor.

I am new with HomeAdvisor. I was dealing with Pheobe. She was very attentive with me while trying to sign me up but as soon as there was a problem, she's gone in the wind! I have tried several times to contact her over the last few days with no response. Pheobe never told me that I would be billed weekly. All she told me was that I would a $250 credit in free leads. I was under the assumption it was billed annually to renew cause I asked her that and she said yes. However, she failed to mention the weekly charges for leads that are randomly sent to me. I called their customer Service line Friday the 23rd and spoke with Teresa who assured me she would contact the right people and have them get back to me. That was not done. It looks like HomeAdvisor is just a money racket and that's all they want!

A 12'x12' concrete patio on sloping ground; 4" thick on the high side, and 8" thick on the low side. The sloping ground required fill dirt that I did not have on-site. Affordable Concrete (Derek ** and his Team) drove offsite to a location that had fill dirt and brought back sufficient quantity to do the job. Really appreciated how they responded to a problem and then solved it without a lot of fuss.

Had high radon levels in basement. Dan quoted a price that beat other similar companies. He installed a radon mitigation pump in basement storage room and properly vented to outside. Dan was very professional throughout the entire process. Highly recommend based on price, knowledge, work performed and customer service.

I have attempted to use HomeAdvisor several times to have work done on one of my homes. I tried to find a roofer, a plumber, and someone to repair or replace my porch several times during the last three years. I have only had one response ever from recommended companies. I hired a contractor that did respond from HomeAdvisor.com. The contractor I hired was supposed to be licensed, bonded, and insured to work in Canton, Ohio, HomeAdvisor claims their contractors are prescreened. My contractor had a license. He did not have insurance. He was not bonded to work in Canton. He did not obtain a building permit before he started working. He did not stop working when a city inspector told him to stop verbally. He waited three days to apply for the permit after he completed removing the old porch and building a new wooden porch.

I have found a plumber and an electrician on HomeAdvisor. Both were excellent in their profession and were very customer oriented. I am quite happy with the opportunity and the ability to use HomeAdvisor to find local professionals to do work on my home. Using HomeAdvisor has taken a lot of pressure off of me in trying to find quality service in an area where we are new.

A new cabinet door hinge screw broke off inside the face of the cabinet. The broken piece needed to be removed to replace the hinge screw. This took some skill and patience and Russ refilled the hole with epoxy so that a new screw would be secure holding the door hinge in place.

In fact, the company we hired through HomeAdvisor did not perform the work as agreed and failed to return the deposit for said work, even after sending a certified letter. I thereby contacted HomeAdvisor to determine my options for recovering the deposit money. I was informed by one of their customer service reps that the complaint would move to management level and that someone would contact me within 7-10 business days. It has been more than three weeks since contacting HomeAdvisor and no word from them and no deposit returned from contractor who is now no longer approved on their website. Would not recommend using HomeAdvisor.

I called and left several messages and never heard from him again.

At least 12 contractors contacted me. I never asked for anyone to contact me. I didn't use any service at HomeAdvisor, even though in the past I have contacted contractors from this site.

One of the main reasons I used HomeAdvisor was the ability to book appointments from the website - something they advertise. I booked two appointments for two separate projects. In both cases I received what I thought were confirmation emails from HomeAdvisor with the phrases "Your appointment has been scheduled, Richard!" and "Projects work best with communication. Get in touch!" But nothing about needing to confirm the appointments or that the dates/times selected weren't actual appointments.

I used HA's website to find a Contractor to install a new garage door. I picked one in the area whose profile looked good. When the rep arrived he didn't even have a tape measure to measure my opening to determine the dimensions of the new door. We discussed the installation and what it would entail, i.e. type of opener, cosmetic touchups after installation, what additional parts would be required. He wrote up the contract and Emailed it to me from his iPhone and asked for a 50% down payment and asked if I would make the check out to him instead of his company. I complied with his request.
