I was thrilled to purchase an outdoor shed from Home Depot, eagerly anticipating its delivery. However, my excitement turned into frustration when the scheduled delivery for the week of December 18th didn't materialize as expected. They rescheduled it for the week of December 25th, coinciding with my out-of-state holiday plans. Despite my efforts to rearrange the delivery, the freighting company, Hub Group, proved to be inflexible and uncooperative.
Even after reaching out to Home Depot for assistance, the issue remained unresolved after spending a total of an hour and a half on calls. On December 26th, while I was away, I received notification of an impending delivery on December 27th, which I once again tried to postpone to no avail. The freight company insisted on delivering regardless of my absence, even threatening to leave it on the street.
In a desperate attempt to find a solution, I offered to pay extra for a delayed delivery, but Home Depot had no means to accommodate my request. Eventually, we had to cancel the order. It's bewildering that the shed had already been shipped across the country and was idling in their warehouse, turning into their problem to resolve. I'm deeply disappointed by the inefficiency and lack of customer-oriented service in how they conduct business. Despite Home Depot's attempts to assist, their choice of such an unreliable company has led to a loss of my trust and future business.

We were going to cover our window today, every cover we chose they said, "You cannot buy this one," and it repeated four times!! We asked why, and they said, "We don't know the reason." I can not buy a window cover. Indeed they behave in a bad manner. We are baffled!

Updated on 12/19/2023: Home Depot called me to try to correct this issue. Home Depot corporate called me to try and help resolve the issue. She put the Daphne store manager in touch with me to work it all out. I was told that I would need to purchase the toolbox again for $925.00 and they would bring the new toolbox out on 12/20/23. At the time they brought the new one, they would pick up the damaged one. Once the damaged one was returned to the store I would be credited the $975.00 for the original purchase. So now, I have purchased this toolbox twice and still just have the one damaged one. I received a call back from the Daphne store manager, Alicia **, this past Saturday to let me know that they messed up the second order as well and now that order was canceled. They stated that it was refunded but I have not seen that money back yet.
THEY THEN WANTED ME TO PURCHASE IT A THIRD TIME TO MAKE IT WORK!! These people have lost their minds. I told them no. The Daphne, AL store manager is a joke. I will keep the original toolbox at this point and I just wanted them to refund some of the price off the original order. They did send me a credit of $400 and something dollars toward the original purchase so I am guessing this will be resolved IF I do indeed receive all the money back they have promised. HOWEVER, I WILL NEVER AS LONG AS I LIVE BUY ANOTHER ITEM FROM HOME DEPOT. What a nightmare.
Original Review: Extremely Poor Delivery Time, Communication, Damaged Product. I purchased a very large Husky brand toolbox for my husband for Christmas. I took the day off from work to have it delivered to my house. I had my neighbor take the morning off as well to help me and to hide it at their house until Christmas as we still like to surprise one another on Christmas. My delivery window was from 6 am to 10 am on 12/04/2023. 10 am came and went and no contact from the store. I called them at 10:30 and was told they were running 2 hours behind. I called work and told them I would be a bit later than expected.
1 pm came and went and still no contact and no delivery. I called again and was told it was still coming but just late. My neighbor had to leave to go to work and I was on my own. Home Depot finally showed up at 8 pm and my husband was home from work by this point so Christmas was ruined AND the tool box has several places where it was damaged!!! I did not know until we unwrapped the plastic from it and by this point I had already signed for it and the delivery driver was gone. Home Depot will do nothing about it and now I am stuck with a ruined Christmas and an expensive damaged toolbox. As long as I live and breathe air I will NEVER Shop there again!

I ordered a couple of flotation devices. It was ordered November 23. 2023. The approximate delivery was for 12/7/23. That day came and went. I was never notified of any change. I called on the 8th. Was told I would be informed of the status, I never was. I called back on the 11th and was told that it wasn't even shipped. After all that it was canceled. I find that they will refund the charge. The reason they noted was because I returned the product. NEVER AGAIN!

Generally speaking, Home Depot has everything you need for remodeling, rebuilding, repairing. Beautiful selection of everything you would ever need. Some professionals don’t like the quality of some things, and I’ve found that some things are special made for HD, and you can’t find replacement parts anywhere else. For all that, you make your own choice. My issue is with the lumber and big stuff. I was buying a lot of lumber for my building project too. Three times straight, I loaded my lumber onto the trolley with my grandson, we snaked our way through the store with our hundreds of pounds of lumber headed to the checkout.
I’m very particular about pricing and quality. I am 100% certain about what shelf I pull my boards off of and the quality. So I get several sheets of OSB and one sheet of plywood along with 12- 2”x6”x 8’ boards, at the check out, they wanted to charge me premium price for #2 board, it was a couple dollars more. The plywood had black paint marks on the edge, indicating the cost and thickness I guess, they wanted several dollars more for it and the OSB was again three dollars more. Discussion with clerk and ended up leaving to go to Lowe’s where everything was priced as shown on the shelf making me a happy customer.
Fast forward four weeks later, loaded 33 deck boards, 16’ long onto two trollies, supposed to be like $13.68 or close each. Pushed both trollies up to the counter, and she insisted they were $20.00 plus each. I told her what was on the shelf, (two shelves with $13.68 per hoard) but she called the lumber guy, who by the way was MIA when I was loading these boards. He swore he watched me climb on to the top shelf and load these off the premium shelf.
Even though I offered to take someone back to that same 13.68 shelf and show them there were still about 15 boards, exactly same UPC there, it was no use. They offered to pull another pallet/bundle in when they gotta chance and then I could unload another 33 boards onto a second set of trollies, push them to the front of the store and repeat this fiasco, but I said no thanks and went to Lowe’s, again where they were priced and purchased for exactly what was on the shelf. Bottom line, if you use Home Depot, take pictures of the prices on the shelf, stick to your guns, but be aware of where the closest Lowe's is located, you should go there first.

I would give zero stars if the review process would let me. I ordered online but the delivery was coming from the Madison office not Florence. The delivery was scheduled from 6:00 am to 8:00 pm and was still not delivered. I called the main store in Madison and they hung up on me the first time then when I called back they placed me on hold numerous times. The customer service representative was talking to someone else while placing me on hold over and over again. Then gave me another number and told me they are not responsible for delivery and its another department that handles that does delivery but they sent me to the original online number that directed me to the store that was suppose to take care of the delivery. This is why I never deal with the stores in Madison because they are terrible. I thought the material was coming from Florence like last time. This store in Madison has been and will always be terrible!!

My package from HomeDepot.com was damaged and there was a big hole in the box. I am missing 4 items. I contacted the main customer service number and the only options they gave me were to file a chargeback with my financial institution and file a claim with FedEx. They do not have a process within their company to get a replacement for customers who paid for items, but did not receive them. I have a picture of the damaged box and a note from the FedEx delivery driver. They just mention that I should do a chargeback with my bank. I do not want to do a chargeback with my bank. I want to resolve the issue directly with the business I purchased items from.

Now as a disabled vet I don't think I should have to search the entire store for assistance. Credit services screwed up payments on card and locked contractor out from using card. Going back in time, I bought a new flooring system for my r.v. I chose Home Depot's product for 2 reasons, one being I like the color/style/print of the tile, and secondly the warranty of it. The purchase was a total of 40 cases of tiles. Well I now have an upcoming repair of the subfloor due to a water leak. Went to purchase 3 additional cases for the job, only to be told they no longer have that style/print of tile any longer nor can I custom order it. Which means that lifetime warranty is a cock and bull story since I can't get even one replacement tile. I'm now faced with the issue of ripping out the entire floor again, spending half of Fort Knox by buying another 40 cases of tiles in order for the flooring to match. What the point of the warranty of any of it, when they decided to drop the style, type, and pattern of tile we bought from them.

Home Depot offers a 10% military discount. What they do not tell you is it is "selective." When I commented that the discount was not correct the cashier was rude & stated if the $4 off of a $200 purchase was not enough I should shop some place else. I'm use to Lowe's where it's a straight 10% across the board off regardless of what is purchased. Maybe Home Depot should disclose this before the purchase. I know other military retirees who would want to know. I will take the cashier's snarky comment & shop some place else...Anywhere but Home Depot.

Recently purchased a new dryer to replace an old one. Used Home Depot card for incentive to pay 6 mos zero interest (over $299). Then we decided to purchase freezer for our child as Xmas gift, as it was on sale and good buy, also thinking over $299 so get 6 mos to pay zero interest. Got my recent statement and am being charged 26% interest... not cool. Contacted customer service and was told that "you didn't read the fine print" which apparently is if you buy something on sale, the incentive is not applicable, even though the incentive was posted online.
In this time of high prices and smart shopping, why would you do that to consumers? I bought $1500 in recent appliances and thought I was being a smart shopper/consumer, but that is not the case. I suggested they make this known to consumers when making purchases and make the print bigger so we know when we buy. Am paying off card today and shredding it. Not crazy enough to use 26% interest card. Buyer beware and hope my post lets others know so they don't do the same thing.

I ordered a vanity from Home Depot. It arrived destroyed, so I sent it back. I ordered it again with gift card credit this time. It stole the money from the gift card and then canceled the order from their side. They said they didn't know why and would investigate and return my call. They never did. I spent 2 weeks trying to recoup the money they stole and finally got most of it, not all of it, back. They pocketed the remaining stolen money.
I ordered the vanity for the 3rd time since now I only had Home Depot gift cards, and it arrived broken again. This time I sent it back before the truck could leave. Home Depot still had the money from the emptied gift card from this most recent order. They said they couldn't send it back due to "system issues". I've spent a month and a half trying to order the vanity. I've spent over a week trying to get back my money they stole. When I write Customer Service, they say they're still having "system issues" and close the conversation if I push it. When I call, they say they're still having "system issues" and hang up if I push it.
Between all 4 orders they've cumulatively stolen over $1400, wasted at least 12 full hours on the phone with me, and caused me to miss my construction date, meaning I'll have to hire another contractor to finish the job. At this point, I'm just going to go ahead and say that they're trying to steal the money. They've made 3 claims of investigations and 10 claims of "we'll call you back" and never followed up on a single one. All these claims are backed up by Home Depot itself who doesn't deny them but instead just kept the money and the vanity and keep repeating "system issues" for weeks and I guess assumes they get to keep the money now.

I ordered a replacement dishwasher for one that we bought not even a year old, and when the new dishwasher came, the installation team took out the old one before taking the new one off the truck and checking it out to make sure it wasn’t damaged. My wife was nice enough and told them that they didn’t have to take the old one back off the truck and reinstall it since they told her it would be a quick turnaround for a new one to be delivered. Well since the installation team disconnected my old dishwasher they never plugged the inlet to the garbage disposal that the dishwasher fed into causing nasty water from the sink I filled to wash my dishes by hand to spew out all over my cabinet and floor. Had to call a plumber on a Sunday afternoon to come out and fix the problem which I had to pay out of pocket for. Pretty expensive headache.
Had to call Home Depot to figure out when the new dishwasher was coming. They completely canceled my order instead and had to spend nearly 2.5 hours on the phone trying to get this situated only to tell me that since my order was cancelled I couldn’t get a dishwasher until the weekend. So after the headache of dealing with them, and the nuisance of not having a dishwasher I finally got the dishwasher installed a week later than the original delivery date. Called to get reimbursement for the plumber and the headache this has caused me and when I finally talked to someone who’s could authorize reimbursement, they asked what I wanted or I thought was fair. Short Version: Home Depot hires plumbers/electricians as appliance installers and then turns a blind eye when they attempt to commit fraud.
Longer Version: We thought paying for a Home Depot dishwasher with all the bells and whistles (adaptor kit, installation, haul away) that it would be worth the extra money because it would be one-stop-service for a property I own. I thought Home Depot was a big enough business that there would be some quality control. Unfortunately, I was wrong. First, we were given a delivery window of 12pm-4pm. Then, we get a call almost two hours early from the "installer" who says that because their first two deliveries canceled they were already at my property. I told them the tenants could get home by 11:30am at the earliest because we weren't expecting them until 12pm as the reminder said. They claimed Home Depot called me to update me on the new times but I had no missed calls, voicemails, text messages or emails from them.
It got worse once the installers arrived. Upon arriving they told us that they needed $250 in order to install a new outlet for the dishwasher to connect to. After confirming with multiple sources, including other contractors, I knew for certain that they needed to use the hardwiring to do the install. The installer refused and said he needed $250 to install a regular outlet. We declined as we immediately knew that was a scam. Then, he tinkered around under the sink for a while (for what reason it's unclear). He became increasingly hostile, aggressive, rude, and completely unprofessional over the course of his time with my tenant at my property.
I paid Home Depot for the dishwasher installation as well as for the old dishwasher to be hauled away. The installer refused to install the new dishwasher without me giving him $250 for a new completely unnecessary outlet, and then he refused to haul away the old dishwasher. Initially, he was also refusing to give us the new dishwasher. So basically, he creates an inconvenience by coming early and causing tenants to rush home, then tries to scam us with an outlet we don't need, and then refused to give us anything that I paid for! Completely outrageous and unprofessional.
Then to top it off we started reading reviews from almost **two years ago that Home Depot knows about the fraud happening!!** When I called Home Depot to complain they said it was totally unacceptable for the installer to ask for more money and told me they would call me back within an hour to give me options to resolve the issue. I told them multiple times that they should never work with this contractor again. Then, I find out that other people have already informed them of being scammed by the contractor/installer and Home Depot **still employs them even when they know about the fraud!!** To say I'm disappointed in the professionalism and service of Home Depot is an understatement. I will never ever make a purchase from Home Depot again and I will tell everyone I know to beware of their installation services.

I call customer service. I am on hold for 20 minutes. I explain the situation and they give me a few options: 1) I return the item to a Home Depot and repurchase it. *That does not work for me, not driving 25 minutes there, returning, then driving 25 minutes home after being on the phone for 40 after all said and done. Not doing extra work for someone else's error.* 2) I can return one and get half the credit, so I would get 70 dollars and then purchase the second one for $90. What?!?! How is that even a logical option. Why would I spend $20 extra for something that was sent broken.
When I told them neither of those work, I was told that UPS can come get the item and to leave it on the porch and they will scan it and return it. THEN after it is scanned I can repurchase it. When I asked what is Home Depot going to do to rectify this for a very loyal customer (between my husband and I we have spend A LOT of money there). I was told absolutely nothing, they will do nothing. I said, why can't UPS just come get the broken one and you send out a new one? I was told, "oh that is just not how we do things and not our policy". Granted, I know the customer service agent makes ZERO policies but come on, with all the competition out there, why make things more of a headache. My husband will just pay off his credit card from there and we go to Lowe's, it is that simple. It is not a big deal because Home Depot is not special, plenty of places to get the products they sell but it just doesn't make any business sense.

Don't buy lawnmowers at Home Depot. This company is a fraud and they charge a fortune for mowers that break down in less than two years of use. I have two bad experiences with the store. I bought one and after a year it was dead. Even with the Home Depot credit card, I fought to have it replaced but it was already discontinued and I had to buy another one, knowing that the same thing will happen again. And the ”new” mower was discontinued so I was told to buy the even more expensive one. Home Depot wiped its hands clean saying that it has no more than a year of warranty and they cannot do anything for the customer, who uses their credit card to do business that after a year you can no longer change or upgrade. They will continue to sell more mowers that are be discontinued a year later!

Product was lost and we waited a long time. Finally found and shipped. Set up auto pay through my bank to not worry about missing a payment like I’ve done for 20 years. HD received it a day late and charged a late fee, this caused the minimum balance to go up which caused my auto payment to be short. Same thing the next couple months. I had no idea because autopay was set up for the same day every mo. for 11mo. No worries right?
WRONG-spoke to someone overseas of course who could care less and wouldn’t listen. He could barely speak English and treated me like a child on how to pay my bills, I said-“I’m not stupid, I know what I’m doing“ and HE got offended?!?! I received no understanding or help & asked to speak to a supervisor. Same thing. After 4 months of auto payments, I still owe what I bought it for. This has never happened to me in my 45 yrs. If auto payments fall on holidays, they’ll be a day late. They do not care. I was treated by supervisor Brenlie (**) like someone who owes a huge balance and never pays it. I’m an accountant with an 850 credit score. I pay my bills respectfully and I do it right. It’s a $31 payment to pay it off in 11mo with a 1 mo. leeway. I did everything right like I’ve done for 20 years. I closed my account because of this and will never use them again. EVER. I will give my money to Lowe’s.

I bought a new washing machine 3 weeks ago online. It started leaking water 2 days after it was installed. We waited a week for Home Depot installation people to come look at it and deem it not an installation issue. Then waited another week for a GE specialist to come look at it and diagnose it as MISSING PARTS FROM THE INSIDE OF THE MACHINE!!! Home Depot never once called us back or reached out to us about how to fix this problem. We have had to contact them every time. Finally got someone to “fix the problem” and say that they were replacing the machine, even gave us a date, on the text message feature of their “customer service”.
We rearranged our schedule to be home on this day, 3 weeks after purchasing a NEW washing machine and they cancelled after my husband called them (of course because they can’t seem to make a phone call or send an email) and said that replacing the machine was not approved. They graciously offered to ORDER PARTS FOR OUR MEW MACHINE THAT WE BOUGHT!!! Will they give us money back for accepting a machine that needs parts? Doubtful. All I want is a NEW MACHINE that is in proper working condition delivered to my house after this 3 weeks and countless hours trying to communicate with this HORRIBLE COMPANY!!! Buy your items anywhere but here. Not only that, we paid them to take away our old machine which was still working and they left us with this situation that we have had to endure and do all the footwork about trying to fix it. The total opposite of what any kind of business or service should be.

So I said, let me run over to HD and take my chances. I was met by Joe R. and as I asked him if he knew anything about electric issues, he said no I'm sorry and his cohort he had been talking to laughed and said, he's just teasing. Our washer/dryer broke and we were in desperate need of another. We ordered from Home Depot, and it was promised to be delivered same week. Delivery company came on scheduled day and left because the machine was too heavy for them. We understood they needed more manpower, although they should've known this before delivering. We rescheduled for today. The delivery company never called me or reached out for delivery times. I called Home depot yesterday to confirm, and they gave me a window and stated someone would call an hour prior to delivery. Again, no contact from anyone. I happened to check online, and tracking showed there was an attempted delivery but no one was home.
My parents and husband had been waiting all day at home. I was at work. They told me no one knocked on the door, no one attempted to call us, and our security and door cameras did not pick up any activity around the claimed delivery time. I called back Home Depot again and the lady on the phone was so rude and said, "Well it's your word against theirs, and plus they sent us pictures to prove it." I asked her to send me the pictures, she refused. I hung up and called again and another lady, who was super nice, answered. She actually emailed me the pictures. Would you believe the pictures were taken off of Google Street View!
My car is captured in the picture, which was at work with me that day, AND the front door vases in the pictures were a year old and we had thrown those away during spring and replaced with new ones. The pictures were 100% from Google Street View! I called for the third time for a resolution, and again, the lady was incredibly rude and stated, "I don't want to be sarcastic or anything, but what exactly do you want from us?" Ummmm how about deliver my $2400 machines! I've never been so outraged by the blatant lies, rudeness and game playing! Customer service is a delicate thing and very few people understand this. In North McAllen when buying garden things, I noticed a price that was on the shelf where I picked up something from the lumber area. I brought it to the checkout and the price was different. I told the cashier and he spoke to a peculiar person who told him about the prices and he told me that the price was the cashier's. I took him to see the price on the shelves and he told me that it was incorrectly indicated because that was not the price. I asked him to respect the price that was on the shelves and he just laughed and I told him where the manager was and he told me that he was a manager... I reiterated the error on his shelf and I left telling him that I would escalate this anomaly...
I headed towards the tills and behind me the person who I thought was the manager, with a very peculiar appearance, shouted at me "Have a nice day" which bothered me and I commented that I hope it will also stop after I talk to his boss! ... Imagine a manager with that attention to clients. The good thing is that the Lowes store has those items that I was looking for and I do not recommend that Homedepot branch on Trenton ave and 8th st, since despite the efforts of employees, the problem is the managers.

My husband and I purchased a new water heater through the same day service. We called the Friday morning before Memorial Day weekend. The individual that we spoke with said if we got pictures to them before 2pm, they could help set us up for a replacement that following Tuesday after the holiday weekend. We sent pictures within 30 minutes of the text message conversation, but never heard back from the individual. I reached out again that following Tuesday and we got something set up but they couldn't come out until that Thursday. Even though the Home Depot page claims same day service, we didn't push it and took the appointment.
Thursday comes around and two guys in a beat up pick up truck with no indication that they work or are contracted through Home Depot show up. They did fine installing the new unit but when I asked to see the paperwork detailing the cost the unit, the cost of hauling away our old unit, and the cost of installment, they had no such details. I managed to catch a glimpse of the cost the water heater, so putting two and two together, it cost us around $1200-1400 just to install the unit. I reached out to the company to get a better understanding of the situation and pleaded that it wasn't reasonable to charge so much for a service that was in fact not same day service or even 24 hour service, but after my message was forwarded to management, I never hear back.
I then reached out to my local Home Depot with a promise that the manager would get back to me, but I never heard back from them either. So I decided I need to be more diligent in my research next time and was just thankful I had signed up for 18 month 0% interest. Well, when I was looking at my credit card statement, come to find out I was only given the 6 month 0% option. So I paid off the debt and closed the card. At this point, I don't understand why customer service is this terrible and I have lost trust for Home Depot and the people they employ.

Fast forward about 5 phone calls between my partner and me to try to get this resolved, and they offered to credit us a 15% discount because something happened with the "shippers" they use that was out of their hands. It was supposed to be delivered last Friday, and now today, we get an email from them saying it's been delivered. My partner is out of town and he sends me a text saying look in the driveway. I'm like what am I looking at? I don't see anything. He says Home Depot texted him saying it's been delivered. It wasn't. So, I spent another 30 minutes on the phone with customer service.
I tell the woman that we are fed up - not only can we not complete our laundry room convert into a bathroom, but I haven't been able to do laundry for a few weeks now because we've been waiting on this shower to be able to complete the plumbing - but now they're saying it was delivered, when it wasn't. She puts me on hold, gets back on and tells me it's in Philadelphia (about 6 hours away from us). She then tells me they're in the process of switching carriers and that's why this problem occurred. I said maybe we should get a refund then because this has gone on long enough. But then I think, no, I don't want to have to start over again, so I ask to speak with a manager. I wait another 20 minutes and then I get...the SURVEY at the end of the call.
I had to call back and ask again to speak to a manager and wait again. When I finally got her, she informed me that the order was REFUNDED! I did NOT ask for the refund. Turns out though, that the reason for all the delay is because the order was "short" meaning missing parts, so it would've needed refunded anyway. How did no one know this fact the multitude of times we previously called for the same reason?? I'm calling **. This has been the WORST order experience ever.

Not only has your company cancelled majority of my orders I get sent an email saying I cancelled it. First off I didn't, second when it says in stock and ship to store then you should honor said request. Third if it's not there then a phone call would be appreciated, instead of whole order cancelled emails. I also went to store when speaking with an associate he said that even if they have numerous items in stock they aren't stocked where they should be then they will cancel the order so if I order online they will cancel my order if it's not found in its correct place. Basically no one will look for paid for item.
After all that was said and done and pushed demo date twice last bit of items should arrive right? Wrong!! The one item needed didn't arrive in fact after numerous calls to Home Depot stating it would the day before it was to supposedly arrive it wouldn't. Why??!! Because it was never at the warehouse! So now I have to cancel order due to list item and reorder again, even given a hundred dollar discount which btw I've spent a few thousand on this project so the hundred dollars off one item doesn't cover the crap I've been through.
Ship to store is recommended yet we've already had problems shipping to store because home Depot will cancel it if their lazy employees won't find it. Even told the associate on the phone that because she put ship to store doesn't mean anything because I had customer service at one store do exactly that and order was cancelled by home Depot next day. Updated on 8/23/2023: Had cabinet refacing done in my home from the Traverse City Michigan store. The gentleman that came out was very thorough. And told me everything that was going to be done. And that the cabinets would be completely finished when they left. When the gentleman that came out to do the work left. I had scratches on my new farmhouse Sink, crooked doors, crooked trim Overlapping doors and a hole in the ceiling. I contacted the store and they said they will see what they can do. But I am not getting any replies back. Just the runaround.
Original review: I contacted home depot for cabinet refacing they came out measured, And gave me my estimate. I financed it through Home Depot, they got their money. Here it is four months later and I still have not got my cabinets refaced. Nothing but a run around they passed me from customer service to customer service. I keep getting the same story, That the materials are not in yet. I get no communication unless I message them or call them. It's been nothing but a nightmare. I will never recommend Home Depot or do business with them again.

What an illegal operation they run on the flooring department. They lied and scam you. They promised that they will send someone into your house to measure your floor for free, but you have to pay a $50 deposit. Then they said this $50 will be deducted off your total carpet purchase. I had another carpet installer came in to measure the same room and come up with 150sq ft. The Home Depot guy come in and measured and said their computer calculated that I need to buy 230 sq ft. That is a marked up of 80sqft.
Their detail quote show they will deduct $35 from the total carpet pricing, and remember I paid $50 deposit. Now they only give me $35 credit back. That is another big ripoff. They marked up 80sq ft more carpet that you have to pay for to cover the installation fee, but they advertised Free installation. This is so sick in the stomach to think such a large public own company in this country can be so crooked. I end up using another private installer and lost my $50 deposit. No more Home Depot in Camarillo for me. I am going to other material supply stores.

I thought he had fixed the knobs but he just placed them back on the pistol that they went on and said nothing to me but I saw him do it. When I went to turn them, they fell off in my hands. Waited to talk to home depot on the phone for over an hour. Then got hung up on and had to call back. Waited another half an hour. Ended up returning a stove because replacement stove would have been another week and I couldn't wait that long, they did nothing to try to help me. The refund does not get processed until they pick up the stove so I have to wait 2 weeks to get my money when all this was because of their bad delivery. I will NEVER buy from Home Depot again!!!

BLUF: One delivery guy was sent to deliver two heavy vanities. The items were delivered damaged and after the whole ordeal, I ACTUALLY ended up losing $200 out of pocket. I HAVE PICS AND VIDEO!!! ALWAYS TAKE A VIDEO OF YOUR DELIVERIES FOLKS!!! - The delivery guy shows up around 7am in the morning (on a school day) with no call or notice that he is coming. I hear loud noises coming from outside the house and wonder what’s going on so early in the morning. That’s how I came to realize that my vanities are being delivered. He drops the boxes from the truck on to a cart on the street which is about a 4-foot drop. I do mean drop in every sense of the word. I wondered why he is doing it that way and wouldn’t it damage the vanities. That’s when it occurred to me that this was a solo deliver person delivering two heavy vanities. Even Home Depot themselves caution that it takes a minimum of two adults to move this vanity.
After unloading them, he leaves the boxes at the end of the drive way right behind my cars, blocking my cars (see pic). I asked him to move those boxes or I would not be able to move those cars and make it to work that day. I tell him to deliver the boxes to my porch and not obstruct my driveway and cars. He argues with me and tells me that he is only contractually obligated to deliver to any part of the driveway and the end of the driveway meets that obligation. He finally agrees to move it to the porch but not to the actual porch instead to the entry way blocking the entrance to my house (see pic). He has to roll the boxes on the ground since, it’s a solo driver, he is unable to physical pick it up and move them (see pic). Then he walks away cursing in Spanish (I have learned some Spanish curse words over the years).

I contacted customer service and was told it would be another week. I continued to call multiple times and NO ONE was able to provide any information, other than pushing the date out. They said they called the warehouse, store, etc. and it was "on the way". Tracking never works. They "reordered" it for us. Nothing. No emails, no calls, no refunds. I also ordered a Dyson vacuum, which you'd think they can't do that one wrong, but the battery died after one month!!!! They gave me a $400 gift card because of another product that was a disappointment, and when I came to use it, the gift card was $0!!! We have spent thousands at Home Depot through various renovations in various properties. Most recently, we ordered expensive items online for delivery for bathroom renovations. We were very specific about the store location we were ordering from. Their system or an employee sent part of our order to a store an hour away from us while also filling the order themselves, thereby charging us a huge amount TWICE. Simple to fix, right? No. Home Depot said they could not refund the duplicate charge by placing the amount back on our credit card. We spoke with multiple people about this. They said, due to THEIR MISTAKE, we had to drive an hour away to get a huge cash refund. The last customer service person we spoke with promised she would contact the store so that they would supply us with gift cards because of the inconvenience.
At the store, we stood there for AN HOUR while the poor employees were trying to resolve this. Finally, they did what we asked they do at the beginning: REFUND THE CHARGE ON THE CREDIT CARD. They clearly could have done this without us being there. They also did not provide us with any sort of compensation for our troubles (our credit card was charged interest as we waited for the $500+ purchase to be refunded). Home Depot, like other BIG stores, just doesn't care about their customers.
When we went to the Home Depot in Middletown, MD during that bathroom renovation, we wandered around the store without any employee asking if we might need help. We had planned to spend quite a bit that day. Finally, we found an employee and asked him where two items were. He looked at us as if we were stupid and said in a snide way, "Two aisles down." We said we had looked there and didn't see the items. He just stared at us. We left the store at that point. Now that Home Depot and Lowe's have the market on renovation supplies, it is terribly difficult to find what consumers need elsewhere, but I will never step in a Home Depot again. THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT CUSTOMERS now that they have put out of business all the smaller individually owned stores throughout the nation.

Day of delivery, first item Mattress. Box arrives with mattress totally exposed to bugs, etc. Box was damaged on all sides. I understand stuff gets bumped? BUT to not even retape a damaged box and just keep moving it thru to next ship location? Fridge arrives, Damaged, so refused delivery. AND the items (water connect kit, and haul away old fridge, delivery guy says Not on the Order?) Call support to complain and find out new delivery date? Refused to update new redelivery to be sure the added items included. She said our new system WON'T allow that? Isn't this the 21st century?
Told her I'm a 66 year old guy, how am I supposed to get rid of old unit? Throw it in my trunk. She told me, "You'll have to go to store and have 'em create a dummy order to add those extra items!," that I ALREADY PAID FOR! REALLY, this is customer satisfaction? If I could give a zero rating that is exactly what I would give. July 25, 2022 I ordered nine impact windows. The salesman came here because originally all I wanted was three sliding glass doors. Because they were not impact he could not help me with the sliding glass doors, but he could help me with the rest of the windows in the house. Biggest mistake I’ve ever made. Four of the windows which were originally slide up and down we made into two slider windows. I told the salesman exactly how I wanted them to open and when I got them 8 months later they were wrong. I wanted them to open from left to right and what I received was just the opposite. The other six windows were put in October and one of them the guy cracked while installing it and it took me four months to get that one fixed. Their customer service department is absolutely horrible.
I did contact and filed a complaint with BBB and unfortunately I took Home Depot at their word when they answered the BBB complaint that they would work with me to fix the issues. That was a lie. When I ordered the sliding glass doors, it was on the contract to open them from the left to the right. But the contract on the impact windows had X and S. Apparently. I was supposed to know what those meant. So for two months I went back-and-forth sending emails with the same customer service person at the corporate office and got absolutely nowhere. Just got an email from her saying that they were not going to put in the correct windows that I had ordered. They all decided amongst themselves that I was wrong and they were right, so apparently spending $25,000 at Home Depot they could care less if you are a satisfied customer or not. Really it shouldn’t be about the dollar amount. They just have horrible customer service.
I called the customer service person at corporate, left voicemail to have her supervisor to call me. Heard nothing, sent an email, requesting the name of her supervisor, phone number and have not heard anything back from her. Then the county inspector came and failed the inspection. So now I have to have Home Depot come back and fix the problems that they caused by not putting them in correctly and then set another appointment for the county inspector.

Refrigerator - purchased with freezer on bottom... Warranty ran out, so did the fridge. Water dripping out constantly on a hardwood floor. Went back to Home Depot (yes, I know, bad decision) - Tried to get a different make with freezer on bottom. Was told they aren't going to make them anymore so I would have to choose something else (of course it's the middle of the phony pandemic) and you can't order anything or it may take months... so I purchased what they had... Crappy fridge - no light in dinky top freezer, difficult to clean because shelves are heavy and do not adjust well.
Now to the lawn mower - purchased at one store, but another store and 3rd party delivered it. The best part, the delivery guy didn't know how to use the tow motor and almost dropped it twice. Finally got the pallet to the ground and was pulling and yanking at the mower, but it wasn't moving off the pallet (cutting the 6 straps that was holding it would have helped!). Got the mower to my driveway and it wouldn't start (dead battery - wouldn't even take a jump)... Driver says, "If you have problems, call the place you bought it..." and he leaves! Then I notice a completely flat front tire! (There is so much more that I will pass for now)... Call Home Depot - They say, "not their problem because it came from another store!" (Huge nail sticking out of pallet!) I will stop now... Still don't have a mower; don't have the refund for the flat tire; and Home Depot will never see me again after I return a whole lot of things I haven't used yet... That will be tomorrow!!!

First I must say Natasha at our local Home Depot warehouse eventually MADE THINGS RIGHT, after online customer service showed little to no concern and said they didn’t know of anything that can be done. My story: the people who delivered a garage freezer (ordered online) were incompetent, lazy, rude, didn’t unpack the interior. They turned on the freezer so interior packing material froze to interior walls. They wouldn’t level it, they said because my cement garage floor was uneven and that they weren’t supposed do anything but just leave the freezer at garage door. It was a terrible experience!
When I called Customer Service and started explaining my issues they put me into the phone survey twice. This is a common practice if the customer service staff don’t want to deal with a complaint. After five tries a person said they did not know how to get off the stuck on blue tape and packing materials. After three hours of getting the run around I gave up and called local Home Depot Appliance dept. For the first time I spoke to someone who seemed to want to help.
Eventually Natasha contacted me and said that she would do everything in her power to make it right. AND NATASHA DID MAKE IT RIGHT!!! She came with two very competent gentlemen. They got everything off of the interior, leveled the freezer and got me an extra compensation for the terrible experience. I am very happy now! But I will only use one particular local Home Depot and never order online. From now on I will video record, with sound, all deliveries.

I placed 5 orders directly at that store for me to pick them up. They ONLY notified me via email that 2 of the 5 orders arrived. The other 3 I had to do my own research on by calling and tracking it online AND neither method gave me a straight answer. Talked to so-called management at the store who could have cared less about my situation as a customer. I called on Thursday evening and was told by one of them that 4 of them have already arrived AND that the 5th order was going to arrive later that night via FedEx and be ready for pick up the next day.
The next day which was Friday I called there. Spoke to a so-called customer service supervisor by the name of Rita who said it didn't arrive the previous night and that she'll look out for it in the afternoon after they get their other FedEx shipment and call me back. She called and then told me it wasn't on that shipment either and that the best option is for it to be reordered because it's "lost in the mail". I then asked her WHY she can't even bother to go the extra mile by contacting FedEx to track the package directly with them? She reluctantly told me that she can try but they won't give her any direct information about where it is right now. She said she'll call them and call me back again afterwards. The phone call never came.
I then did my VERY OWN due diligence and research by contacting FedEx and according to their invoice, they delivered the package all the way back on April 28th at 4:35 pm which was signed by JJOEY. I called Rita back and gave her that information. Of course, she tried to play it off by claiming she wasn't given that information by them and that the ONLY thing they told her was that it was "shipped" which I know is NOT true because I know they told her more than that. She claimed that they searched the entire store and still couldn't find it and she then had the nerve to get sarcastic and rude with me by saying "I can't make this package magically appear".
I then spoke to another manager named Dave who then confirmed with me that the package was delivered on that date but that their associate NEVER scanned the package and that's WHY it's NOWHERE to be found! So THIS is the type of NONSENSE that this store puts their customers through?? I will file a formal complaint with the BBB as well because this type of behavior is totally unacceptable!

I had two bad experiences. First, I ordered a washer and dryer that took forever to receive. No one ever followed up with me and when I called, I was told everything was delayed at that time. I continued to follow, and was then told that my order had arrived damaged and they would not deliver, but would expect a replacement quickly. I’m now in close to two months, and they called, set an appointment, and I was ready on that day for a morning delivery. I waited till 2 in the afternoon, and finally had to the driver, who never answered, and finally the store. They said the dryer was dented and decided not to deliver, but never once calling me to advise. I cancelled the order, went to Costco, and had my units in a week!
My second experience was buying carpet. I was told by someone else that they had a good experience with carpet at HD, so I relented and went there to buy. The pricing was good, and I was told they would move the big items as long as I got the rest of the stuff out. Here is where I made a critical mistake, because I did not read all of the contract details. Anyway, I received a call to set up an appointment, and knowing the arrival time, I moved clothes and small things out of the bedrooms into my living room on that delivery day. When the day rolled around, I was ready and waiting but no one showed up.
I followed up with the installation company and was told that my installer had called in sick that day (a Friday!), and they needed to reschedule later in the following week. I had a mess with all of the things out of the bedrooms and objected to the delay. After a couple hours, they let me know they found someone to install on Saturday. The installers arrived as scheduled, but when they checked the rooms, they said moving the beds was extra and required a change order signed to complete the work. Remember, I was told they would move the big things, and as long as I didn’t have a big headboard, beds were fine if they were stripped of the bedding. I have 1 king and 1 queen, both with simple metal frames.
Well, I signed the change order and they finished the installation. Today, I got a call from HD telling me that I owed another $200 for moving the two beds, that they never said the installers would move the big items, and anyway, it was my fault for not reading all of the contract form. Yes, it is my fault for not reading it, and I am paying the added fee, but when I do business with a supposedly large good company, I don’t expect to be misled. Do business with Home Depot at your own risk, and read all of the fine print. As for me, they will not see me again, but hey, I’m just one customer anyway!

I had called the credit card company several times and they said that they could not issue a new promo code and that if I place the order online, the bonus would be credited to my statement (which is not true because my fiancé had signed up for a card and it took four months of calling to get his promotional bonus. He did not get it automatically and had to fight to get his bonus of $100.00.) Nonetheless, I did try to place an order online but because my total was a little over $1,000 and my limit on my credit card was $1,000, my purchase was denied...there was no way to pay the difference with another card. Had I had the promotion code, my balance would have been under $1,000 and my credit card would have worked online and the purchase would have gone through.
I then called the credit card company back and was told to call Home Depot to place my order over the phone. I spent a few days trying to place an order. I kept getting disconnected and when they send me the text for payment, my card was not being accepted. We were in the middle of moving and renovating and I had misplaced the piece of paper I wrote my new credit card number on. I waited for the card to arrive in the mail and it never did. I then called to have it replaced and I tried once again about a week after I received the card. I called Home Depot once again to place an order and this time was told that they could not do the promo over the phone. I called twice and was told by two different people they could not do it and that if I made the purchase online, I would receive a statement credit.
I had to cut my order down (Initially I was a little over $1,000 for the $100 bonus and I cut my order down to $300 for the $50 bonus...why be at $900 for the same $50 bonus) and I placed the order online a few days ago. I just got off the phone with the credit card company and was told that I needed to have made the purchase within 30 days to have been eligible for the promotional bonus and that I am no longer eligible. That is news to me. I'm guessing that information was in the missing email with the code that I never received and that information is not listed on their website. Over the past 15 years we have spent hundreds of thousands of dollars renovating homes and for them to do this over $50.00 is ridiculous. The paint was 33.00 and we received only a 1.8 discount not the 10% they advertise. When we ask about the discount, we were told that not all item were 10%. According to their advertising, the paint should have had a discount, along with a can of spray glue. I have shopped there for years, but think I will go to Lowe's or Menards for the rest of my purchases.

If I could give negative stars, I most certainly would! The driver for HomeDepot.com/Daryl Flood Logistics out of LaVergne, TN would not take my dishwasher to my house, he said that if the driveway was more than 500 ft., they couldn’t deliver it to the house. However, all my other appliances had been delivered to my house. He said he could leave it at the end of my driveway or he wouldn’t leave it at all. He was unprofessional and was very disrespectful, along with his counterpart traveling with him. I called HomeDepot.com and reported this issue as it was occurring, and all the customer service rep wanted to do was send me to the complaint department to file a complaint which did not help me with my situation. HomeDepot.com did tell me that the more than 500 ft. was not correct, they do deliver to any and all addresses unless it’s unsafe for the delivery persons and/or vehicle.

I am writing with regard to the North Spokane Home Depot. We ordered new appliances for our home on January 14th. They consist of a standard refrigerator, stove, and dishwasher. We paid approximately $5,100 for the merchandise that day. This does not include the substantial kitchen remodel we contracted with Home Depot. We arranged for delivery on February 10th. The Home Depot cancelled the delivery and rescheduled for February 16th. After providing us with a literal last minute cancellation, Home Depot rescheduled again on March 9th. After yet another reschedule, Home Depot cancelled our delivery today. This does not include the times we had to reschedule due to Home Depot scheduling on days we explicitly told them we would not be available.
Home Depot has not delivered our appliances two months after we have paid for our merchandise. Customer service was inept at addressing our issues with Home Depot's delivery delays. The third party Home Depot contracted to deliver our appliances gave us no accommodation for the delivery or worked with us to find an alternative path.
As a result we had to completely cancel our purchase. A complete refund will be pending. I will be sure to update this review if we do not receive it in a timely fashion. We will not do business with the Home Depot and we advise anyone working on home improvement projects to take your business elsewhere. If feasible we would also cancel the entire kitchen remodel. This company's shoddy customer service and inability to deliver are frankly embarrassing. For a company with self-proclaimed expertise in home improvement, it has much to learn when it comes to transacting business.

I recently purchased a dishwasher that was delivered on Friday March 3, 2023. It was installed that following Monday, March 6th. After installation the packaging was removed and exposed a dent. I used the texting to make the complaint. The appointment was made for a service person to come out to look at it on Wednesday March 8th. I waited all day for them to come but they did not show. I again contacted them and was told it was canceled since it was 24 hours past the 48 hour complaint time. It would have been nice to have a courtesy call to let me know. Now, I'm stuck with a brand new dishwasher with a dent in the front. Bye Bye Home Depot, there are other options.

I ordered an Electrolux washer and dryer. The Home Depot says 48 hour return. I unfortunately had a problem with the dryer, so I tried to call Home Depot 800 numbers 3 of them to be exact. Could not get a person on any of the numbers, only an automated system. I called Electrolux, they told me to call the Home Depot store under their 48 hour return policy. I called Home Depot store, told them I wanted return, and the guy said they had to order me another dryer, which they did. The second dryer had problems, I have a video of it. I took that video to Home Depot store and let them see it. The person in appliances listened to it and said that there is something wrong with it, gave me a number to call for refund or replacement. Went home, called number, was told that they could not refund me. I had to talk to the store. Called the store, talked to assistant manager, he got my order number and details.
Called back and said if I wanted a refund I had to call Electrolux. Wait a minute I gave Home Depot my money not Electrolux. He said call another number for a 3rd machine to be delivered. I was within the 48 hour return policy but under no circumstances would Home Depot honor that policy. Now I am stuck with junk, which in my opinion is what Electrolux makes junk. I will never spend another dime at a Home Depot store or at home depot.com. I am paying off these junk machines and having nothing to do with either one of these companies again! Buyers Beware! In 2018, I purchased an Electrolux washer and dryer from The Home Depot and purchased a 5 year extended warranty. The washer and dryer come with a one year labor and 3 years parts replacement warranty from the manufacturer. That should have made it a total of 6 years but The Home Depot refuses to honor the warranty agreement as per the terms of coverage written in their warranty contract. They claim that the five year warranty purchased started when I took delivery but according to the terms of coverage in the contract it states that the extended warranty starts after the manufacturer’s warranty expires, one year from the purchase date. The Home Depot refuses to honor the agreement and I will never purchase any major appliances from them in the future. Do not be fooled by their so called warranty.

We were buying some pavers from Home Depot and they refused to honor the price as marked - even though it was clearly for the pavers we selected and had a big arrow pointing right at them. The manager said under Connecticut law they could charge a different price. They are a very dishonest company. And there have been a pretty good number of times when we had a cashier who made a mistake in our favor, or mistakenly did not scan an item, and in every instance we have gone back and given home depot the chance to correct the cashier's error, which of course they always do. But - they have no hesitation to play games with mismarking of commodity items, and they don't care in the least. They are a very abusive and dishonest company.

New Bosch dishwasher delivered 1/28/23. Delivery men put a 3" rip in kitchen floor while removing old & installing new. Even after my warning not to drag the appliances but to lift. English was not their language. They tried to accuse me of damaging the floor (I have pictures of them doing it). Also damaged the new dishwasher while installing. Door wouldn't close properly, it wasn't centered in cabinet and the seal on left side kept falling off when they let go of it (that's why they tried to install it all the way to the left leaving a 2' gap on the right, not centered as it should be). Dishwasher was flush with cabinet on left but sticking out on the right. I told them to remove it and sent it back. I then arranged for replacement & new delivery 2 wks later. Filed a claim for damaged floor.
No one showed up to deliver the replacement on 2/14 because Home Depot cancelled my order on 1/28/23 after arranging for a replacement w/ delivery. They also didn't contact me or refund my $1400. They no longer offer veterans discount on appliances either. Had to drive to store to get refund. Unable to reach claims department for damaged floor. They are on Eastern time not Pacific. Got email to send estimate for damage and no further info. I saved for 5 months to get this dishwasher. I am beyond disappointed. I will NEVER buy anything from Home Depot again. For all of those who are U.S. Veterans, there exists an awareness of which companies offer discounts for Veterans and those who don't. The company known to most of the United States as Home Depot does a significant amount of advertising about how the company supports all branches of the Armed Service(s) and blows their own horn in the pages created on their website. However, the game has changed. Home Depot no longer offers discounts in two major topics. The standard for the company was a ten percent discount for all products purchased by a Veteran.
The first change came when certain products were no longer allowed the discount; electrical wire, most lumber and major appliances were taken off of the discounted items list, with no reason given or shown on the shelves, as it is up to the customer to 'catch' this at the check out register. Oddly, the store cashiers have no idea of when or why this has taken place, including the temporary or permanent status question one would ask. Secondly and more alarmingly; the Home Depot Corporate Office, changed direction on who can and who cannot receive a discount. Gone are the days when a valid Veteran I.D. was sufficient proof to obtain a discount.
The ONLY way a Veteran can obtain a discount is via the Home Depot online process. The process involves a detailed list of personal information which must be filled out; including name, address, phone number, and service, service branch and a number of other details, The Home Depot organization then turns the completed form over to a third party who allegedly contacts the govt. files to verify the information.
To their game plan, this Veteran says NO THANK YOU. I decline the offer of ten percent on the basis of my private information is not the business of Home Depot, nor is there any reason to trust a third party with the information as there is no way to know what the supposed third party is going to do with the information once the details are in their hands. Identity theft is one thing and in the opinion of this writer, this is the same as handing all of the private information over to an unknown person and trusting them to be honorable. Granted, Home Depot or any other company who does business with the public has no obligation to offer any discount. However, this is the same as selling a discount for your private information. Again, NO THANK YOU.. Stand clear of Home Depot and their ever changing means of gathering information on the customer.

I took that day off and my friend drove 2 hours from Newport Richey to help me "make a day of it and just get it done". In the afternoon I received an email confirming delivery had been delayed. That cost me a day of work and an $80 lunch. He drove 2 hours home. I called the number on the email and after 2:20:17 I was told somebody would be in touch. 24 hours later nothing so I called my local store to cancel. After 3:38:26 I gave up being on hold and drove to the store. There I spent 2:15 in line with Customer Service. The order was successfully canceled and I was given a store credit. Those keeping score will calculate ~8 hours of waiting.
After cooling down I tried to reorder from a different location only to realize at checkout the store credit was only for IN STORE purchases. I visited the same store and was assured, absolutely GUAR - AN - TEEEED!!! everything was in stock and I could just purchase said order and arrange delivery. With great reluctance and blind faith, I did. Order delivery was scheduled for Feb 17 (Okay - my vacation started on 2/11 so I am only a week behind). On Feb16 at 9:51PM Home Depot email stated delivery has been rescheduled for 2/25. At this point I have spent a two week vacation in limbo, waiting and waiting. Then..... waiting some more. The electrical was done, the room has been emptied - TWICE.
I have canceled the order yet again and now I don't even care about the gift card. There was so much confusion about credits for delivery and then trying to figure out how taxes to charge, then issuing a new card, then buying the order again. Take the gift card and shove it. Also, just don't expect me to drop another dime in a Home Depot store. You wasted ONE WHOLE MONTH and this is what you call 'Helping Doers Get More Done"? The hilarity at the irony is unprecedented. So, Home depot has $374.13 of mine and I have nothing to show for it. I go back to work on 2/20 so thank you for wasting my long-awaited vacation and my time.

Once received the tool noticed that packaging was not accurate as it supposed to, the stickers with shipping barcode was scratched off the packaging but I still could read partially the address and some other information which doesn’t belong to me. Opened the box, one of the battery packs is not responding not on the drill itself and not on charger neither. Next day made my trip to Home Depot for replacement. They didn’t have it in stock. So representative told me that they will refund only the actual paid price, which means I can forget about promo code from HD, because it was reframed on the drill at first purchase. I called again the morning of the supposed delivery and was again told it was on the truck and would come and they would call 30 minutes before. No call. Over a dozen emails, 2 batches of pictures and an hour long chat with Home Depot, vendor Home Decorator Collection refuses to send correct back panel to complete product. They buy from China, said it was imported so couldn't. They and Home Depot both refused to pull out a correct panel from another box and send to me. Let me start off by saying that I don't do reviews and that my complaint is not with any of the Home Depot workers as they have been trying to resolve this issue the best that they can. Because this is a third-party, contracted, delivery company that Home Depot uses there is not much they can do. This has been, hands down, the worst experience that I have had.
I ordered a refrigerator in December and the delivery has been canceled by the delivery company several times. One of those times the driver called to confirm that he was on his way and never showed up. There was no explanation as to why just a notification that it, once again, needed to be rescheduled. Rescheduled, it was supposed to be delivered two weeks later. Again, without notice, the delivery was canceled. Now it is scheduled to be delivered the first week in February, over a month since the refrigerator was purchased. I will never buy anything from Home Depot again because of this problem and would not recommend them to anyone else. What a shame.

I called home depot to report the issue, and hopefully since I'm covered under my warranty get my refrigerator fixed. Instead of assisting in the situation, I was given the runaround. Home Depot claimed that GE was responsible for fixing the fridge because they were the only people equipped to fix the refrigerator. GE did not want to fix it because the fridge was now more than a year old, and no longer under the manufacturer warranty.
For a month and half I was being tossed around between these two companies. No one wanted to take responsibility. I spent the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays without a fridge. To say I was highly irritated and disappointed is an understatement. I would advise any person purchasing any appliances at home depot not to let them con you into buying a warranty, it's garbage. Instead it was dropped in the mud. This tiller weighs about 400 pounds. I don't have special material handling equipment like that driver had, so I've been forced to unpack the box piece by piece to lighten it to see if I could move it, which I have not been able to do. The bulk of the tiller has spent the night outside in the weather and we expect rain tomorrow. I will spend my day today trying to move this tiller body into the carport where it should have been placed to start with.
When we called Home Depot to ask for help, we were told we just received basic delivery. Their "customer care representative", when asked if dropping it in the mud and leaving it was acceptable, responded with "Yes." This is not acceptable. Let me advise you to order large items with caution. Home Depot customer service is obviously non-existent. Your item can come whenever they choose, and be dumped wherever they wish. Live with it.

I had the worst experience at the Home Depot in Jackson. Long story short, we went in store to order a storm door for replacement. After picking out our door, we went to schedule installation. The computers were having issues so we were told the order was placed and we would get a call from installers. After a week, we went back in store to see what the status was. We were told that the order we had was blank and thus cancelled. I was frustrated but I understand things happen. So we went through the process again. I was assured by the manager that we would receive better service this time. We did get the installers to the house to measure the door.
Per the printed document we got from Home Depot, we expected a call to schedule the appointment within a week. It is now 3 weeks after and we hadn't heard anything. I just called to check status and wouldn't you know it, our order is blank again. No info on the door we supposedly ordered. The manager I spoke with was completely unhelpful. In January 2022 I paid Home Depot in full for George Burton Construction to renovate my home. While I had reservations I was assured Burton construction were professional. I believed in the Home Depot Brand. My renovations were flooring, kitchen and bathroom cabinets, countertops, remove an arch and extend a wall, remove tub and shower to build bigger shower.
The job began the end of March 2022. I never received a schedule, although asked numerous times. The job was not done professionally nor in a timely manner. I’ve asked for reimbursement/compensation for money I paid for services that Burton construction did not do. I paid local licensed plumbers to get the job done in a timely manner when I couldn’t get a reasonable committed date from Burton. The bathroom alone I paid $11,000. Burton construction capped shower pipes, installed new toilet, and tiled the shower walls-that’s it!! Burton's men tried two times to install the toilet. I hired a local professional to come in, tighten the tank and seal to the new floor.
I paid $1700. to Burton Construction for backsplash in the kitchen, they did not install backsplash!! I paid $975 for refrigerator, microwave, and dishwasher installation. Burton only installed the microwave. The molding under the upper cabinets have light shining through. The under the cabinet lights work partial and periodic. Pull out cabinets were never installed, pantry cabinets that cost over $1700. each were installed April 10,2022 and each were defective. I found this after installing the shelves myself in August. Burton Construction ran out of shelve pins, I needed to order. Don ** the district manager for Home Depot witnessed Burton Construction workers try to repair the defective pantries. A few days later screws popped through outer walls of cabinets. I paid local professional painters new wall that Burton installed needed to be retextured.
This weekend I found a small hole in the quartz countertop. I paid for backsplash in bathroom that we didn’t get. Countertops delayed once because no one called for template, I did after 2 weeks. Second delay because bathroom vanities not installed when promised. Children brought to job site 3 times. Oil spots on driveway from work trucks. I’ve been offered a fraction of the money paid for services not rendered and money spent for cleaning up Burton Construction. I’ve been a customer my adult life, although HomeDepot would rather pay an incompetent contractor than stand by a loyal customer. This tells me Home Depot is NOT the brand you can trust.

Recently, I had to go the local Home Depot store in order to return a small unused paint sample that was supposed to be a "color match". Upon arrival, I went to the help desk/return/pickup desk whereon I had to deal with an employee who simply stated persistently that returns for paint simply would not be accepted. Due to my insistence, the employee then called the store manager in order to sort out the situation, and things only got worse from that point on.
The manager used the same pointless talking points indicating that on the small paint container it was stated that it is non-returnable. Well, it also says on the paint container that it is a "color match" (which clear this one was not). Subsequently, the manager came up with the most absurd arguments one can possibly imagine, like implying to ask if I did not know the paint color (supposed memorized it) as if the differences between the hundreds of slightly different tones and gradients of white would equate to the difference between red and yellow and thus would be easily identifiable by simply memorizing and later comparing all possible intangible nuances of white from one's memory.
After about 15 minutes of that non-sensical situation, I indicated that in case a refund was not issued (I am talking about $5) one would file a complaint against Home Depot (Reynoldsburg, OH) about that incident and concomitantly file a complaint with credit card company in order to receive a refund. Eventually, the manager of the store conceded and issue a store credit on the amount of $5 -- which I spent right away since I have no intention to ever return to a Home Depot store again. That was truly one of the most obnoxious and obtuse experiences I have ever hand in any retail setting. Normally, I spend thousands of dollars per year in home improvement stores; but most certainly will never spend even a dime at Home Depot again.

Got excellent service from Chris in Kelowna Home Depot to book a contractor for a shower install. I had 3 options. One contractor never called at all. 2nd contractor booked a date then called back to cancel 5 minutes later. The 3rd contractor Harding Services booked a date, never showed, never called. When asked why he didn't show he simply said "sorry couldn't make it, I can book again next week"... I had to travel an hr each way to meet the guy and never bothered to show. Totally unprofessional and no doubt will be another unemployed contractor once the market cools.

My husband started building our house in October 2019 when Covid started. We purchased 1008sf of tile in July 2021. When we went to pick up tile it wasn’t all the same lot numbers. So, we asked if Home Depot could get matching lots of the tiles we picked out and we would return when they received them. Days later when we went to pick them up we counted 7 boxes of broken tiles. We were assured they gave us extra to cover the damaged ones. Our installer showed us more broken tiles inside boxes which left us short-duration installation a year later.
Due to Covid we were unable to install until July 2022. Floors seemed to look good. We went from floors straight to cabinet insulation. We only have 4 windows in our house and I started noticing a checker pattern on the tile. Thinking it was dirty, I got on my knees and cleaned them with soap and water and a microfiber towel. It wasn’t dirty but I also noticed a couple of chips.
I contacted Home Depot and was directed to Customer Service Specialist. She asked for pictures and my receipt. I explained it had been a year since we purchased the tile and could send pictures of installation and my records of all products we used. It was over a week before I called her back. Tosha wanted me to fill out a claim with MSI manufacturer’s. Home Depot took no action on a product they sell to assist us in our claim. Basically, I was on my own dealing with MSI the manufacturer. MSI refused to accept responsibility for defective product and tried to tell me it was a dye lot issue. It wasn’t because we had pictures of all the pallets, boxes etc. Somehow glaze tile and matte tile got mixed together. Nevertheless, we have to have tile removed and replaced.
I have contacted Matt Carey’s office (Vice President Customer Service) and left messages. If you’ve ever had flooring replaced you would understand my frustration. This is my retirement home. The only house we’ve ever built the way we want and now have to spend countless hours cleaning up after the demolition and all I was offer by manufacturer is the same tile which is no longer available in the glazed finish. I was the only one involved in dealing with the defective flooring. No contact with Home Depot. No one at Home Depot cares about what their product has done to our home. Not a return phone call one. Is this what customer service has come to? I wish I knew how to post pictures of my floors. No one could live with them!!!

We ordered a power tool via Home Depot's online app. They shipped it via Federal Express. We currently live in an apartment. The FedEx driver decided to drop off his deliveries into a common stairwell in one of the buildings and did not inform the apartment management. Needless to say, our order never made it to us. We called Home Depot to inform them we never received the package and that the delivery driver had even admitted that he'd left them in a stairwell. Rather than Home Depot providing us with a credit and then addressing this with their contracted carrier, their response was that we had to fight it out with our credit card company. Even though FedEx is in the wrong here, Home Depot has decided to put the customer in the middle of the dispute. Way to go Home Depot.

Instead, they shipped the snow blower to FLORIDA. WE DON"T HAVE SNOW IN FLORIDA. Then, it took 2 weeks to get my money back as their system had to catch up to the shipping error and they didn't show it had been delivered. I then sent my son to the same store to get the same blower using my credit card and info. They refused to allow the purchase, refused to call me to confirm it, even though the same info is on file with them for thousands of dollars of purchases over a decade. They are incompetent. AWFUL and beyond frustrating....We ordered a stackable washer Dryer....Waited for delivery. When they showed up they didn't have the stacking unit. No one told us we needed one. They left the equipment in our garage. My husband went back in to get help and rescheduled the service. They came, and sure enough the units didn't fit. They left the washer dryer, telling us to call.
My husband went back to the store to speak with a manager and get help. No one available (again) we spoke with another associate. They told us to call customer service. Customer service then told us it was past the Samsung 48 hours and we would be charged. We have spent hours on this without assistance. We were on with Customer Service while waiting for a plane for 90 minutes on-hold and disconnected repeating the issue over and over...It's Maddening and we still don't have help. Unbelievable -We will fight this with our credit card company but it's been awful...After years of working with Home Depot we are done.

Kitchen pantry installation. Design was done and signed off on. Expected ETA was 14 weeks. 20 weeks later the installers show up - destroyed the walls. There was no care in pulling out the wire racking, they just yanked on it. We needed to actually repair not small patch over the drywall. The design team measured 3 times, apparently that wasn't enough as the unit didn't fit. The installers left the rest of the pantry in pieces and left. Designer came back 2 weeks later and we were told our corrections would be put on a rush as our house was now strewn about with pantry items and construction materials.
Slow forward 12 more weeks and the installers still didn't have all of the shelves and were missing the baseboard. Now Home Depot is stating that the project will stay incomplete because they sold us something they don't actually make. We can leave the project unfinished or they will come back and rip it out. I am thoroughly disgusted with this experience and would not let anyone I know use them again. Stay away!!!!

We purchased a Lanbo wine/beer fridge from Home Depot and two months later it stopped working completely. I tried working with the manufacturer directly to solve the problem before I just returned it. The fixes they offered did not work and after being informed of this Lanbo simply stopped responding to me. At this point I took it back to Home Depot to just exchange it to get a new wine fridge that actually worked, I was even willing to keep the money with Home Depot but they informed me that the item is “non-returnable” and I had to go through the manufacturer to get a refund.
Less than 3 months of ownership, it breaks beyond repair and Home Depot says “too bad”. So they are fine with selling what they know is a faulty product then refusing to take ownership of their deception. After digging through the reviews on Home Depot for this exact fridge I realized that multiple other customers had the same thing happen to them, so if they would like to join me in a class action lawsuit please feel free to out.

WHY I WILL NEVER SHOP OR BUY ANYTHING FROM THE HOME DEPOT. Through the past 25 years we have purchased a lot from Home Depot. We are DIY people, so we purchase a lot of products from home improvement stores. When we built our house, we were in the Home Depot store weekly. Our whole kitchen came from Home Depot. Home Depot has always been our first priority for everything for the home. Now that I have found out that Home Depot (along with a lot of the DIY stores) all use delivery services I will be very cautious what I buy at their stores. And if it has to be delivered, I will ask who delivers before I purchase. If they don’t employ their own delivery crew, I will go somewhere else.
I purchased four kitchen appliances, a warranty, and all the additional accessories required to install the new appliances from the Home Depot location in Marysville, Ohio. It was an easy purchase as I had already done a lot of research into what I wanted. Although the store only had one of the four items on display, I had printed off the information for each item and the sales clerk was able to check inventory and found that what I wanted was in stock at the warehouse. We completed the sale, and a delivery date of Friday October 14th was given to me along with all the instructions to prepare for delivery. I paid extra to have all the appliances installed and move the old appliances to another room.
I was informed that the delivery people only install, they do not uninstall. The day before the scheduled delivery I had a man uninstall all my appliances. The gas stove was unhooked and moved to the middle of the kitchen. The microwave was taken off the wall and moved to the middle of the kitchen. The refrigerator was unhooked from the water supply but left plugged in and moved out of the space it was in. The dishwasher was unhooked from the water supply, electrical power and removed from its space. He even removed the doors from the cupboard to make it easier for the person to install the new dishwasher. Then I cleared a path from any obstacles that could interfere with the delivery. (I want to make note that I am a 73-year-old woman with a very bad back and two surgeries on my ankle this year, but I managed to have everything checked off their list of demands before delivery).
I have gone into detail because I want you to picture my kitchen as I proceed with this letter. On Thursday October 13th I received an email and a text stating that my order is arriving soon. The delivery is scheduled for Friday Oct 14th between 9 am – 1 pm. On the morning of Friday October 14th at 8:18 am, I received an email and text stating that my Home Depot order is 2 stops away. Now I had no idea what that meant in time. I didn’t know how far away they were or how long it would take them to reach our house. I proceeded to empty the refrigerator and freezer and place everything out on my deck. The temperature was in the high 30s. I then waited for them to arrive.
At 9:30 am a neighbor stopped by, and we were in the garage/driveway talking when a large Penske truck came down the street. It drove past my driveway to the end of the street (we live on a dead-end street), turned around and drove out (I want to stress here that NO ONE got out of the truck and walked up to talk to me or ring my doorbell). Since it didn’t say Home Depot on the truck, I thought they must be delivering to someone else on our street. At 9:45 am I received a text from The Home Depot that stated “We couldn’t complete your delivery. We will call to reschedule order **…”. I waited about 20 minutes, and no one called.
At this point I began to try and find out what happened. I first tried to call the person in the appliance department at Home Depot that sold me the appliances. She was not there but the person I talked to said she would try to help. I told my story to the person on the other end of the line. I was placed on hold for some time. When she came back to the phone, she was sorry, but I would have to wait until the delivery people called me. Then I tried calling the number in the email I received that stated “We’re sorry the delivery couldn’t be completed because:
• A problem occurred before a delivery was attempted• Or a problem occurred at the final delivery.
We will be giving you a call to reschedule or call our support hotline at 800-455-3869.”
I told my story to the person on the other end of the line. I was placed on hold for some time. She referred me to someone else. This behavior was continued for 6 different people. I told my story; I was placed on hold for some time and then transferred to the next person. By the time I reached the last person (I was told this was the manager of the Home Depot in Marysville), I was way beyond upset, angry and in disbelief that a customer could be treated the way I had been treated for the past 2 1/2 hours. (I do want to apologize for the language I used during some of the conversations as I have not used those words in a very long time or ever.)
During my conversation with the store manager, I find out that the delivery people could not make the delivery because their truck was too big to back into my driveway. They would have to find a smaller truck and would call me to reschedule the delivery. As I told the store manager (and would have told the delivery people had they talked to me), it was ok to park on the street and walk the appliances up the driveway. I live on a dead-end street and at 9:30 in the morning there is no traffic on the street. She came back with a lot of “I’m sorry, ma'am” and then proceeded to tell me it wasn’t Home Depot’s fault. It was the delivery people’s fault.
She also stated that the delivery people would call me in 24 to 72 hours to reschedule. By this time, it was Friday afternoon, and I knew I would not hear from them until Monday. All of my appliances are unhooked and in the middle of my kitchen! What am I supposed to do until the delivery people can deliver my appliances? “I’m sorry, ma'am”. I swear all the customer service people I talked to have a manual in front of them with the title ‘How to Handle an Upset and Angry Customer”. If the customer says this, you say that.
Monday morning a man called me and said they could deliver my appliances on Tuesday. I told him that would not work for us as my husband had a doctor’s appointment on Tuesday and we would not be home. We agreed on Wednesday morning. I told him it was OK for them to park on the street if their truck was too big for the driveway. I also told him that no one talked to me Friday about the truck being too big for the driveway and if they had I would have told them it was OK to park on the street. He told me they were going to make the delivery in a smaller truck Wednesday morning. I told him ‘good, because if they didn’t deliver on Wednesday, I was going to cancel the order’.
Tuesday evening, I received a computerized phone call from Home Depot stating my delivery would arrive on Wednesday between 10:00 am and 2:00 pm. Wednesday morning, I again emptied my refrigerator and freezer and awaited the delivery. At 3:30 pm I called the support hotline. I was told that the delivery people were at my house at 12:45 pm and their truck was too big to pull into our driveway. She said they would have to reschedule the delivery and bring it in a smaller truck. I told her I did not see any delivery trucks on my street or driveway, no one knocked on my door, rang my doorbell or called me. She said they would have to get a smaller truck and they could deliver the appliances on Thursday.
At this point I could not believe what I was hearing. I asked her how she would feel if it happened to her. She said it wouldn’t bother her at all. It was a minor inconvenience compared to what she had been through this year. She was dealing with cancer and not receiving a delivery on time was not a big deal. At this time, I told her I wanted the order canceled. She said she could do that, and the order was canceled.

It was delivered, but the installer said we needed to have a shut-off valve installed, and Home Depot would connect us with a plumber. We left the appliance in its sealed packaging while awaiting their plumber. The plumber came 4 days later and installed the valve, then opened the dishwasher package. I escalated but supervisor would not relent and denied my claim. I strongly recommend you DO NOT purchase appliances from Home Depot.

I did not cancel my order, Home Depot charged my credit card for an item that wasn’t available as stated. Now I have to wait 3-5 days for my credit to be issued and the $325 to be available in my credit card. My lesson learned, do not use the Home Depot app to order anything because even though the app shows the item available, it may not be and you will be charged for a purchase that wasn’t completed.

I have spent literally hours on the phone with them for mistakes they have made with the original order, which they then told me I had to cancel. After being told they needed to cancel the order on their end and then reorder it due to a system error, they told me they could not honor the sale price I originally paid and I would now have to pay full-price because the promotion had ended. How is that ethical? Oh, and I now have to wait another two weeks for the next delivery window AND pay full-price. I will not be purchasing any appliance from them ever again.

I did a contract with the Home Depot to have a fence built that involved a special order for material (vinyl boards). I thought I would eliminate rotting of the traditional wood material. The contract required me to pay in advance for the project and at the time I trusted that the job would go as planned. The fence contractor arrived and said they would not do the job because there was not two feet of clearance of the fence line required in the contract and left.
I immediately called the Home Depot and requested a refund because the contractor would not do the job. I was refunded for the labor portion of the project but was not refunded for the material because it was a special order. I tried to find an alternate builder on my own but none of them wanted anything to do with the vinyl material.
To meet Home Depot's terms, I would need to cut down my Oleander bushes to give the fence line two feet of clearance. These Oleander bushes provide my home with privacy and would take too long to regrow, so we decided not to do this. The real problem is the Home Depot contract can be used as a license to steal and is used this way too often.
I later found that many fence contracts stipulate they must have two feet of clearance but since they are normally paid at the completion of the project, they will do the project anyway so that they can get paid. The Home Depot installer used the contract and the special-order material to try to get me to do their work as their demands would have resulted in me doing the fence demolition.
The terms of a Home Depot any contract need to be avoided. My biggest error here was entering into a contract with the Home Depot. My advice to anyone is avoid contracts with the Home Depot, find alternatives. Furthermore, I will not convenience shop at that Home Depot and for that matter any Home Depot in the future.
