We just moved into the house and thought it would be a good idea to have the system. We had the water test. So far, I like quality of the water purification system. You can really feel the difference. The water's a lot softer but we haven't been there long enough to really have an in-depth experience with it, but so far it's been good and we're pleased. The sales rep was also so impressive and was one of the reasons we went ahead and did it. He was exactly the right person to sell it to us. The installation team were great. They were focused on getting it done. I appreciated the fact that they weren't chatty and they just got right to the task, and were very well-informed and just paying attention to the job. Home Makeover was better than I expected.

We wanted a purifier in our home and Home Makeover Systems was at an event that we were at. The sales representative was nice, and we set up a time for them to come. The system is great. However, the installation team sucked. First, it extends all the way back from the information to the financing that we had secured. They were told that I was not going to be able to be present during the install, but my husband was going to be there. They said "no problem." They showed up at my house, then gave my husband a hard time because he was no longer on the financing and he couldn't find any of the documentation which is incorrect.
Secondly, they had to drill through my wall in order to get the hose connected outside. And rather than drilling from the outside in, they did it through my drywall and blew out my concrete on the outside of my home. They had to patch it which looked like crap. Then I had to wait for them to come back and paint it and then I find out that I have a flood in my garage. They fixed everything and did what they were supposed to do, but as far as the installation itself, I'm angry and would never recommend them. And I never got my manual for my system.

I went to an art and crafts festival and Home Makeover Systems had a set-up there. They had a wheel that you spin to win something and I ended up winning a free cruise for two. Afterwards they contacted me to come and show me what they had and validate my cruise. Sales representative was nice and very sweet. After she showed me the water treatment system, I went ahead and purchased it. The gentleman who installed it was very nice and friendly too.
I would recommend Home Makeover Systems. They were very easy to work with and their water treatment system although I've only had it for a week and a half or so seems to be doing really well.

The sales representative from Home Makeover Systems was polite. He did the demonstration and everything worked out for me and my husband. The installers did pretty good too. They installed the necessary parts, did what they needed to do and they're very respectful. As far as the water purification system, I like it but I notice when I wash my clothes our water is still hard, when I take shower and wash dishes it's soft. So maybe I will give it more time and see.

Home Makeover Systems offered a free water sample so I just decided to go with it. Recently, we purchased a home water filtration/softener system from them. I feel really good about the quality of the product. Everything went well with that aspect. The installation guy was phenomenal, extremely thorough and patient even if we had a lot of questions. He took his time and did it right.
I think one thing that they need to be more upfront about is when the salesperson is selling the product, he needs to make sure that the consumer knows the total in-cost, not just the base price. This is because when I'm buying a product or when somebody's buying a product, a lot of times that becomes an issue. I think he did kind of an injustice by not disclosing some of the extras that were gonna be needed to pay after the fact. However I'm still satisfied and happy with the product. I would have been much happier had he disclosed all of that upfront, and I think most people would feel the same.

We love the water treatment system we got from Home Makeover Systems. It's great. First, the sales rep that went to our home was fine and did a presentation. They were informative. Then the installation team came and showed where he will put the system. It was a pleasant experience. I would recommend them to the people.

I wasn't really happy with the after-effects. I love the system, but Home Makeover told us that we were going to get what we did not get. We were told that they would come out and deliver the salt and also that they would come out every six months to check everything, make sure it's working, and change the computer parts if needed. So we called for salt the other day, to find out there's a $77 charge for a bag of salt. Never once did they say at a fee. They also never told us it was for one year only. But the system is fine. It's doing its job and that's what I wanted.

The insulation installed by Home Makeover seems to be what they said it's going to be. So far it's much more comfortable. The sales rep was very nice and knowledgeable. It wasn't as quick a process as we were originally led to believe. They said they would only be here for about half an hour but they were here for over two hours and we couldn't discuss privately what we wanted to do, whether we wanted to do it or not. We did feel a little bit pressured but we did it anyway. The installation team was very nice. They cleaned up after themselves. However, I felt rushed during the process. After the whole thing took place, next day they were coming to do this, and I have a three-day contract wherein if I wanted to back out of it I could, but I wasn't given that opportunity. I would have backed out only because I thought it was too expensive after I really sat down and thought about it. So in that respect, I don’t feel that good about this process.

I wouldn't recommend them to anybody even though we like their product. If we have known the company that was involved in, which was Southern Florida Water or something like that, we would not have bought because we did have dealings with that company before regarding the water and we were not happy. Home Makeover in reality misrepresented who they were. After the actual payment, that's when we found out who we were really doing business with. We've had several phone calls from Home Makeover Systems and others associated with them. We get two calls within 15 minutes and my wife told them we’re not interested. 15 minutes later we get another call back. I have enough with this company.

Hi Ron,
My name is Anouska, I am the new director of consumer relations for Home Makeover Systems.
I would like to apologize for any negative experience that you had with our sister company Great Southern Water. In 2011 we added the name Home Makeover Systems to represent two other brands that we added to our company: exterior coatings and attic insulation. It wasn't our intention to misrepresent ourselves or mislead customers. Our 30 year old company is growing and we needed to add another division in 2011.
We would appreciate another opportunity to show you that we are a reputable company which strives for 110% customer satisfaction. As your system is almost due for annual maintenance, I would like to offer you a complimentary service. Please contact me if you would like to set something up.
Thank you,

I liked all the descriptions and the products from Home Makeover Systems, and it was slender than our last water purifier that we had before so we went for it. The sales guy was very nice and friendly, and knew what he was talking about. The installation people answered our questions very knowledgeably. They did the work with no problems. The guy came late in the afternoon and still started it, which was great because most people would just say, "Can we wait til the next morning?"

During a presentation at a festival at Lake Eola in Orlando, the representative said that if his company could make a presentation at my condo (I pointed to the condo 1/2 block away), Home Makeover Systems would pay for a free 2-day cruise to the Bahamas, including taxes and port charges. I called Home Makeover Systems today because I could not register online for the cruise as directed. I think that I may have overpaid for the coating that I bought from Home Makeover System. But the paint seems to be fine, I think it's going to be okay. At first, there were some repairs that had to be made. If my son-in-law had not been here to help look at them and to say that's not going to work, I may have had some work done that would not have been adequate. There's one thing though, I was told by the sales reps that they would be here to oversee the job and they would see that it was done just the way it was done, and I haven't seen them since.

The sales representative from Home Makeover explained their product, the features and benefits. However the installation team needed to come back three times, which was a little bit concerning. The manager came out a couple times and supervised them on the last so I would say the installation was kind of a hiccup in the process. It was just little bit more hassle than we were prepared for. Although they were definitely responsive and tried to fix things, I think there should have been more oversight on the installation from the company. You expect not having to crawl around in your own attic and uncover everything that they didn't do right. With the product and the price, people expect the job done right.

Things just kind of fell together for me and Home Makeover Systems. By the time they reached me over phone sales, I had already been looking in the area. I think the quality is good but it took some doing to get it there. I had to do a lot of the stuff that the sales representative promised to do on my own, which really upset me. It was like they took the lighting and all down, and I wound up putting some of it back myself. I had surveillance cameras. I told them I would take care of those, because that’s on me. The wires were hanging out. They spray painted them. I had to cut them off and put new ends on it.
Also, I was promised on the sales call and in writing that I would get a 25-year warranty; I've called back several times and I still have not seen my paperwork. I was also supposed to get a gift certificate for Outback worth 50 bucks but I haven't seen that one either. Now I can't get anybody to answer my calls at this time. I would really like to get the paperwork straightened out so I got something to stand on in case it does go bad.
This is really unfortunate since I think the quality of their work is good. The people that actually came out here and did the initial work where they replaced all the woodwork were superb. The painters had to come back several times, though. So with all of these, I'd say I'm kind of on both sides of the fences with regards to Home Makeover Systems.

I'm enjoying the water softener filter. I find the water, ice cubes and my coffee in particular tastes a lot better. But there was this one gentleman in the installation team that I found his attention to detail was not very good. In particular, I was watching him do his work for the blind, and at the end of it, I went in back in the house and when I came back out, he had drilled a hole through my wall which I knew he was gonna do, and he came in the house and did so. One, when he did do the drilling in the house, he did not clean-up his mess to not spread in the house. Two, when he was done, and he was putting everything away, I looked in the house and there's a chip out of the blank wall. He did patch it but I had to remind him to patch that. In general, I'm very happy with it and I'm glad I can afford it.

However, the first sales guy that they sent out got really defensive when we were just asking general questions. He also quoted a different price than what it's actually going to be. My parents' opposition did not get through and that's why they didn't show up. We had to call them the next day and find out. The guys that came were all very nice gentlemen, and did keep everything neat and clean and did a wonderful job. It was very good. There was an initial problem about the accounting office because of an accounting glitch. This was my fault and theirs. I signed an additional contract and cancelled it the next day. In the meantime, the money had been taken, charged against my credit card, and they were absolutely fabulous in getting it back and taking care of it. Al, the manager, and Beth in the accounting department, were so good and understanding and they handled it very professionally.

Home Makeover Systems came and did some installation towards our garage and around our solar water heater. It's pretty decent and it's doing its job. For my husband the bill for the job was worth it and the decision to have them come and do it was his. He decided it because I thought it was a good idea since basically there was gonna be insulating and we needed to have the garage insulated anyway. However, they offered us to have a system to place on our outside unit to assist us with the electricity and water heater monitoring and it wasn't available anymore. So they gave us a check for $100 and they promised him a loan that was zero down and zero payments for 18 months and instead he got a loan that was 5%, but he did have to start paying money right away. They gave him $300 check for that since it was a mistake on their part for both the paperwork and filing.
When they came to our home I told them that they needed to call me before they arrive at our home because I work as a yoga instructor and they were planning on coming a couple of minutes right after I was able to show up to home. They were waiting for me when I got home and they've been waiting for approximately 15 minutes. No phone call, no nothing. If they would have called me, I would have told them to come at 1:30 because I have a class from noon to 1:00. It takes me 20 minutes to drive from my class to come home. It was just a surprise that they didn't call me at all.
Home Systems promised my husband that they were gonna give him a Lowe's gift card, and the installation team was told to give him a Lowe's discount card and they were like, "Well, we don't get paid until we do this system, and we haven't gotten paid yet. So I can't afford getting you one." So the supervisor has to go back to the office, get the Lowe's card and bring it back to my husband. It just seemed very disorganized. We've had a phone call last week from someone following up, asking us did we receive certain information or paperwork because the paperwork was not completed on the marketer's part that came over. They did try their best. But basically it was disorganized. I hope they improve.

Originally Home Makeover called and I thought he said he wanted to come out and see if they could save us some money on our electric bill. So I thought it was somebody from the electric company. And when they arrived the following day and I found out it really wasn't from the electric company, but they acted like they were kind of associated with them, he said that he could still save us some money on our electric bill. And so we let him come in and talk to us, and he sold the product. He was a very good salesman. And I'm hoping that it will save me money on my electric bill but I don't know that it will.
The guys that came to do the painting were fine. The first time they came, unless I walked around with them, they didn't cover up any chips or any cracks or anything like that. And the guy that come to sell us the product, he said they were gonna fix it where there wouldn't be any chips, there wouldn't be any cracks in the vinyl. They would do any repair work that needed to be done to make it all look like new. They were gonna paint the framing on the door and put the frame around our door because it was missing.
But when I went out there and talked to the guy that was doing it and I pointed out there's a hole, I said, "There's a hole, you need to putty." He said, "I've never, ever had to do this before for anybody." So I came in and I got the contract and I showed him what had been wrote down that Shane said they were gonna do. So he did it but he missed some, and so I had to have him come back and redo some, and Shane came out here with him. That's the reason I'm not real happy with Home Makeover. I was not happy with him at all and there was supposed to be a supervisor right here every day checking on him and that never happened. And I haven't heard from him since.
The first guy who showed up teaches guys how to use the paint. He was very nice, looked over the place and says, "Yeah, they can do this." A lot of the things that he said that they were going to do was not passed on to the foreman. The painter didn't get all the instructions. I had shutters for the trailer and trim on the top that needed to be painted and I know the foreman told them to paint the shutters and the trim that goes the top of the trailer and he tried to forget it and when I reminded him, he very reluctantly did it and it wasn't a very good job. I'm going to have to repaint them. I paid for that paint and was going to take it back to the factory. They got rather upset about that but they didn't give me the paint. Long story short, I bought the purification system and I am happy enough with the quality. I had real trouble in the beginning but they sent somebody out and they had to change the filter (the filter was bad and the water coming out of my tap looked like chocolate) and so far the water purification system is okay. However, everything else is bad. I’ve been made a lot of promises. None of which has ever come true except the installation of the apparatus itself.
The sales representative was pretty friendly. He left me a cellphone number to contact him if I had any questions. But I have called that number 3 times and he has never returned my call. I was also promised a $50 gift card to Target to make up for another water purification presentation I had scheduled later in the week and I was supposed to get a $50 gift card originally from the visit. I was told I would get a shower head. I was told I would get books for discounts at supermarkets, and I was told I would get detergents and soaps and none of that has ever arrived and yet the date is almost 4 weeks old. So I've called, I've talked to Home Makeover Systems 3 times and they said they would get back to me but nobody ever had. So, I'm missing all of the incentives.
Also, the letter I got from Green Sky gives me information about the 18 months in which I have no payment required and the Sales Representative never told me that I was being charged interest during that time.
As for the installation team, I had an appointment for 1 o'clock. I got home at 1:20. They had drilled through the side of my house. They were planning to put it on the outside which is not allowed by my HOA. So, they had to regroup and redo. They were friendly enough but they came early and started without anybody here. I was not happy with that. They left a patch at the side of my house and I have yet to find the correct paint to cover it over.

Home Makeover Systems called me for some kind of marketing. We set-up the date for someone to come here and talk about installation then they showed up on that date. They did the installation and were going to do the all-weather coating on the outside of the house a week ago. It was pretty good. I just had an issue because the carpenter came without a ladder to make openings in the ceiling and there were some other issues too. Somebody came in and they forgot to do 3 windows. We had to have them come back. They didn't get installation in to the sunroom, so they had to come back for that. That's all been dealt with though. They fixed everything.

I got a phone call from someone, from the Marketing arm. Big company is in Longwood, Florida and I live in Maitland, which is a suburb. My air conditioning guy is a big proponent of insulation. He had said "You know, now that you have this new air conditioner, you need to protect it by getting insulation." So I had the insulation put in my attic by Home Makeover Systems. The installation team and the sales representative were very pleasant and cordial. Everything was done very well. No complaints. The installation team was in and out really quickly. I thought it would take a little bit longer but they were done fast. Their work was excellent, very good. I could actually tell relatively quickly after the installation was done that it was cooler because I live in a condo so it's upstairs and the air is circulating. The air in the first floor is moving around. It was very noticeable. And I'm not inclined to put the air conditioner down to 73.
The only issue is I had contacted the company in Longwood and asked them if they would send me a piece of the material. Cause I live in a condo and I'd like to show it to my neighbors. I'm actually on the board of our condo association, and I still haven't gotten anything. I could easily give them a call again and I will, but it would be nice if I had a piece that I could show people. The company in Longwood needs to pay a little bit more attention to their marketing. Other than that, I would recommend them.

So they probably subcontracted that. Only one guy spoke English. And then the other guy was one who did the film on the window and he seemed to be the one that was in charge. He was very knowledgeable. He was a perfectionist but I guess if you put film on a window, you have to be. It took him forever to do two windows which just amazed me but it wasn’t like I had to wait on him.
The sales reps that I talked to were very polite and nice. I talked to two different sales reps, one on the phone and then a different person came to the house and met me there. There were things that I was promised when the Home Makeover Systems gentleman was at the house to sell it and the thing that came out took a long time. We had to call them. First, they promise you a dinner for two gift card that was supposed to be given to us at the day of the sale. Then it was supposed to be given to you after they install it, and later it was going to be when the gentleman came over to go over the finance papers with you, but he never showed up. He gave the guy who installed the system the paperwork and I had to rush through that because we were supposed to do that at 6 o'clock in the evening and we had other things to do at the time. Somebody eventually called me back and went over it.
The gentleman setting it up was great. The people who put it in were great. Certain things didn't come through and weren't exactly what the guy told me I was going to get. Point-wise, I should be getting everything I’m getting now for nothing from what he was saying. We just got our gift card the other day that we were supposed to get when we first set up and it was a $25 gift card - lunch for two. Other than that, my biggest thing would be to contact your customers a little bit, not just contact them until you get the accounts. Once the credit was done and you got your system and the finance papers are done, then you didn't hear from them at all.
The water is fine but with that kind of money, I figured somebody would call you back in a week or two. I was constantly calling them to try to get somebody through to figure out what we were doing with our card and the other parts of the financing. We finally got it all about straightened out now except for the point system stuff yet. I’m still trying to figure that out why we didn't get what we were promised. The system is fine. Except for now, I've got somebody coming over because it went crazy yesterday. The timer or the counter on it was just spinning out of control and erratic.
I wouldn't recommend it to anybody unless the thing got straightened out. There are systems out there about the same for almost half the price. We needed something as my water was pretty bad so I had to get it going and went into it without doing a whole bunch of research. Once the money was taken, as far as everything was done, I felt like I was forgotten about. Customer service is everything. I know it is where I work at.

I’m satisfied with the product. But the way the situation was handled, the way that they handled the customer, I was not satisfied.
We purchased the water purifier. The sales representatives were very nice and knowledgeable. They answered all our questions. The man who installed it was friendly and he explained what we had to do to check it. But we had some problem when the man came for us to sign the contract. They made some errors on it and I wanted it to be fixed and they didn't want to fix it. I told him, “If you were on my position and you wanted something, you spend money on it, you want the thing to be done right.” And when I was telling them that no, I refuse to sign the contract if it was not fixed, the man even wrote down that I was hostile! But I didn’t get nasty with him and I wasn’t cursing. So I said to him, “That wasn’t very nice of you, what you put down on that piece of paper.”
So then they called somebody. They fixed it. I finally got it done. But now they sent me a letter saying that they sold my contract to another company for me to send the payment. So then two days later, another company sent me a letter saying that I have a certain amount of money allocated for my account. I called them and I said, “What is this?” and she said, “No, you bought something.” I said, “Yeah, but I already have somebody, another company that I’m supposed to be paying this for.” They said they were going to delete it... so I guess it was deleted.
One other thing that I still haven’t resolved was I’m supposed to be getting some products. The girl that came to sell me the water purifier told me that I could send for some products. So I called them, because I wanted to know am I paying for this thing or it was a promo that they’re not going to give me. The lady on the phone said, “Okay. I’m going to put you with the right person and they’ll be able to help you.” Then somebody picked up the phone. He says, “Okay, the girl is busy right now. She’ll call you back.” As of this date, it’s been a week and nobody has called me. So I don’t know if I’m ever going to get them or what.

I was supposed to get a website to get chemical-free soap and things of that nature, but I haven't received the website or any emails. He said as soon as my paperwork went in, they would be calling me with the website code and I could order; I had supposedly $700 worth of credit. I did call them and left a message.
The sales representative was very knowledgeable. He answered all the questions that I had, which was very helpful. He was very social; he really tried to get me the best deal and the best promotion out there that was available for me. He was also able to tell me the reasons why my water tested the way that it tested, things that can benefit in the household as well as hygiene and health, so I like that. The installation team was good. The tank that they delivered the first time ended up having a hole in it, so when it leaked out, the technician that came to replace it was very helpful; he actually helped to readjust it. It was overall very, very good, because there wasn't anything about it that made me feel like I was obligated to buy anything or make me feel like I was doing it for the company or to help him get a sale; he made me feel like I was doing it for myself.

Somebody from Home Makeover Systems called and my wife talked to them about the attic insulation that we had been meaning to do. The salesperson Chris came by and discussed the heat barrier and painting with us. However, there were some things that he should have told us but didn't and should have done but didn't. There was a big problem with getting it done and little things that I'm not happy about. For one, they owe me a monitor for the light meter. They told me it would be two weeks but it has been a month already and I haven't heard anything yet. I feel there were some things that were done sloppily and it was a hurried job because of the weather.
They didn't give me any papers designating what to paint and there was conflicting connections between the contractors. I don’t know whose fault that really is but they ought to have a better program in knowing who is doing what and why so that when the guy comes here, there are no discretionary problems with the customer. That was one of my biggest problems. When I added something to the paint project, the contractor got a little upset. He wasn't belligerent with me but you could just read his body language that he was not happy with it. The fellows who did the window film were good and respectful. They told me the people installing the heat barrier would be here at a certain time frame but it took them about six hours later to come and then they worked until 11 o'clock at night which was a big inconvenience for us. I had asked them to come the next day to do it but they didn't want to come back and insisted on doing it right away.
I feel that my air conditioner is running less than it was and I hope it is. It is quite a chunk of money to put out for something if you aren't going to get any benefit from it. I will have to wait until I see when my utility bill turns up. But they need to have a little bit better communication with their customers, communication among their contractors so that everybody is on the same page all the time.

I decided to have Home Makeover Systems redo our attic and the water heater. I asked them to paint the outside of the house and do the four windows in front of the house. They came out on a Monday. I was home by myself with three kids, one of them was seven months old, and so I had my hands full. I had to sign papers before everything was done and I didn’t realize they weren’t supposed to move stuff. That was my job but nobody told me that was going to happen. The guys said, “Don’t worry. We’ll help move everything.”
At first, I was very excited about it. They painted and everything looked very nice and good. But then, on the papers, it asked, “Did they move everything back where they found it?” Since they told me to sign the papers before it was all done, I checked, “Yes,” because I assumed they would move everything back. But that did not happen. Like the back porch that they used, everything’s still thrown in the middle of the porch. Nothing was moved back where it was. It’s still like that because until the kids go back to school, I can’t get out there and work and get everything moved back.
Everything was done within the week. They were in and they were out. However, I’m not sure about the quality of the shingles and wood they put in the attic because our utility bill did not go down. It actually went up. However, we did put up an above-ground pool, so we’re giving the makeover some time to see how the bill looks with it. Maybe the bill went up because of the pool and running the pumps.
The Home Makeover people were all very nice. The salesman was very nice but a lot of what he had told me wasn’t true. He had mentioned that financing was only going to be run through one company and yet I’ve already gotten two letters from two other companies were the financing went through also. I’m just letting it go because for me, it’s just not worth the hassle. There were a few lies that I had caught him in but, I guess, it’s because he’s a salesman and that’s what salesmen do to sell their products. He had said our payments wouldn’t increase. This is what it will be from here on out. And then when we got the papers to sign them, the payments will be this for the first year and then it increased higher. So that was a lie, too.
If I had to do the renovation over again, I probably wouldn’t just because now we are $** in debt and we weren’t beforehand. And our utility bills are still the same, if not higher. I feel we just put ourselves further in debt.

I filled out one of the little paper surveys that they had there and threw it in a dish and then they got in contact with us. I finally decided to do it. We had a new bathroom redone and got a big hot water heater put in the laundry room. Home Makeover got it done, but we haven’t used it yet because we left. It would be nice when we get back, going home to a nice new bathroom versus the old one.
Our interactions with Home Makeover’s sales rep was absolutely awesome. I’d recommend him to do anybody’s home. The installation team was thorough. They cleaned up after themselves. The workers were fine, but Bryan was number one for workmanship and personality. He was a great person. He felt good enough about his workers’ professionalism to leave and do errands. I have already mentioned Bryan to some of my friends, that if they decide to have their bathrooms done, they know who to get.

Home Makeover Systems called me up and said, 'Do you want a $25 gift certificate?' I said, Sure. And then I spent $**. We've only done half the installation, which is our fault because we were holding off because of something, but so far we're quite happy. The sales guy was awesome. He seems to really know everything about everything, was easy to talk to, big fun and entertaining. I had lots of advice about all of our projects, not just this one, so I like him a lot.
With the installation team, at first we were not pleased because they didn't come with their supervisor, but they did good work and the supervisor came by later and we were satisfied with their work. My mother was actually home when they came but she said that they were the best workers. Sometimes workers don't respect your stuff but she said as far as workers, they seemed really conscientious, and one of the better worker interactions we've had. After the installation, our salesman called again to check in with us to make sure everything went okay, which is nice. Everything with them was really fast and easy.

Home Makeover Systems did a good job. I didn't have any problem. The sales rep was very helpful and very nice. He explained a lot of things that I need to know and what to expect. He showed me where some of the stuff in our house was not working, so I went from there but I did not purchase a lot of stuff because I am not working. He told me in the long run to look at those things that needed to be done, like the air and the caulking. They were all very pleasant to me.

I was looking around for a way of doing my mom's bathroom because she needed a handicap bathroom. She's not able to take a shower by herself, and our particular shower was too small because there wasn't enough room for us. Her particular shower had a garden tub and there was no way she could get into that. I happened to go into Walmart and Home Makeover Systems had a bath set up in there. I took one of their cards and I called them.
I actually had them come out when I was on vacation so I could be there. My mom is 94, so I wasn't sure with them being there, how she was going to come in my bathroom. They talked to us every day to tell us how the work was going and showed the details and made sure they could measure where the handle bars and things were going to go. They were very nice and very friendly and I would recommend them. I even told them that if I got any more work that I want them too. I want Denny and Brian to come out and do the work.
The material is great and there are a lot of choices. Both my mom and I have problems with vertigo so we can't have anything with checkerboards or anything like that because it makes you dizzy. They fixed it up and picked out beautiful stuff. I know it's a mobile home that I have it put in but I do not regret it at all. They helped get the financing, because I tried to get it through my bank and because of it being a mobile home, they wouldn't go on with that. If it hadn't been for the Home Makeovers, I wouldn't be able to get it done.
Everything is great. They're going to come back out to tighten the faucet on my shower. When I got hers on, mine broke down so I had to use hers and it was like being in a motel room. It's so much different and so nice. And even the shower heads that were installed were so much better than what we had, and I would have never figured out what kind would have worked as good as what they picked out for us. They took into consideration everything that my mom needed and the placing of the faucet and everything else; it was just so professional and so personal that it was awesome. My friend came out and looked at my bathrooms and they were so impressed.

I bought the copper attic shield from Home Makeover Systems. It's supposed to reduce my energy consumption but I'm not seeing much result actually. The sales guy was great - professional and kind. But the people that were supposed to bring my light bulbs never came back. They brought the wrong light bulbs and he said, "Oh, okay, I'll go get the right ones and I'll have them dropped off." I never got my light bulbs. The installation team seemed like good kids and they cleaned up after themselves. I'm disappointed that they didn't give my light bulbs and that I'm not seeing the energy savings. I'm happy with the people, not the product.

It was a phone solicitation, and my wife agreed to talk to somebody from Home Makeover Systems. They came on an evening after I got home from work. We had the ceiling and garage insulation done. I'm satisfied with the insulation in the attic but not with the insulation on the garage door that they said they'd put on there - it's all filled off and hanging in strips. We've called about it twice now and they just come out here and tape it up and it falls right back down a day or two later. So far in two months, I haven't saved anything; as a matter of fact, it has cost me about $25 or more on what we usually spend and the other bill is about $35 more. So far, I've been paying for a dead horse, but hopefully it will get better. They did about 60% of what they said they would do.

For the most part, I'm satisfied with Home Makeover Systems. My only complaint is that it's still not finished yet and it's been a couple of months. I got the water softener system and they put that the next day. I also got a shower enclosure and I'm still waiting on that to be finished. They, for the most part, have been good. The problem I have with finishing the shower is with a third party - the people who are doing the glass doors. That's where the hold-ups have been so I've been getting on their case to try to get this moving along. They took my money months ago. And Home Makeover Systems keep trying to sell me insulation for the attic which I find to cost higher. He wanted $** to put the insulation up in the attic but I could go to Home Depot and get the stuff myself for under $500. Except for the glass contractor, people who came out to my house and did the work were very professional and did a good job.

I learned about Home Makeover Systems through a postcard I got in the mail saying that they were gonna give me a gift card. So I called asking what it was about, if there was a catch, and they told me what they do. I needed something like that, I needed the fellows to come over and tell me how I can improve my house. They insulated my windows and they also installed the water treatment systems. The water treatment is great but as far as the window insulation, I really haven’t felt that much of a difference from before, and I thought it was extremely expensive. I actually regret doing the windows because they charged me two grand and they told me that it would make a huge difference, and it really didn't at all. But it is what it is.
The sales representative was actually great. As far as the technicians that came over, they were a little messy. They came a little bit unprepared. They totally used up all of my paper towels and never replaced them, so that was something that bothered me about the experience. But other than that they were okay. They did do what they said they would do.

I first heard about Home Makeover systems because I got some coupon in the mail. My husband was a chemist many years ago and he’d tell me about things. When I was listening to the gentleman that was telling me all about this stuff, I was going, “Oh, my gosh, it sounds like my husband.” So I said okay, because he had told me they didn’t have anything out there when he was still alive. We had bought a few homes and we were trying different systems and different stuff, different cleaners and everything. I’m very happy with everything and I was really surprised at some of the stuff the sales representative was telling me about, because I just heard it from my husband who had been a chemist. We talked.
The thing that hit me the most is the water system, because of the baby. At the time he was only 8 months old and now he’s 11 months old, I worry about all the chemicals that are out there. We were using non-living chemicals and stuff, oils and cleaners which are just more expensive. My daughter-in-law was a distributor for them at one time but she has since stopped because it’s getting too expensive, we couldn't afford it anymore. I don’t have a computer so I can’t do any research; she does when she has time. The gentleman was very pleasant and very forthcoming with things. I'm going, “Okay, great, I’ll try it but I don’t know if I could order it.” He said, “We’ll see what you think and go from there.” I’d recommend Home Makeover Systems.

I let a rep come out and give me a demonstration for attic shield and was impressed. My house is older and I didn't think there was a lot of options for me to cool it since I bought a new a/c a little over 2 years ago and it helps but the bills are still too high. The sales rep from Home Makeover Systems was okay. The installation guys did the job pretty fast. They came and tried to do it in one day on a Sunday from like 8 o'clock in the morning until 9:30 at night. I’m ready for bed and these guys are still working on my bathroom so it was a little tough since I got to be at work at 4 o'clock in the morning. They also left a lot of crap in the yard. They didn't finish it. They were supposed to do it in two days but they couldn't make it in on a Saturday so they started Sunday morning and just worked until 9:30. They left a lot of the sheet rock exposed and I had to refloat it. The floor didn't reach it anymore and I had to re-caulk that and put in new tile. In other words, there was no wow factor when I walked in.
For $**, I just thought it was like a little cheesy. It was overpriced. It’s like a glorified tub insert and they threw up these plastic or whatever they are things and instead of being solid against the wall, they’re like bouncy. You can press them and they like bounce because they didn't put enough stuff behind them to keep them solid. I know they had a lot of old stuff to tear out. They also left work for me to do but they were nice guys anyway.

It is incredibly hard to get a hold of anyone or to get them to call back, and they refuse to make this right. All they did was tell me what I could do, not what they would do or try to do to make up for feeding us these lies. I have nothing against Puronics (still waiting to see if there will be any reduction in my electric bill and if that will offset the cost of all the salt we have to buy for the system), just HMS. So I start looking for a water softener in Home Depot, Lowe's and over the internet. But I did not know which one to choose. One day a sales advisor knocked at the door and guess what, it was a salesman from Home Makeover Systems. He was introducing the water conditioner, softener. I was surprised because the product was something I was looking for. I welcomed him in the house. He introduced himself and showed and explained to me some paperwork about the Puronics Terminator IQ.
At that time I did not know how high the hardness of the water was in this area. Then he tested the water of my house in different ways and I could see the difference. Now since I have Puronics, it's a whole different world. Nice tasty water, my body feels a big difference now with the water that doesn't leave streaks. And a big good thing is that the plumbing in the house will be protected against getting clogged. My wife is also happy because her hair feels the softener. Everybody was friendly in the whole situation - the salesman and the supervisor who followed up and came by to see us. Everything was going all right.
I can't really tell yet if there's a difference as we haven't lived here that long. We've just been here about a year. So we don't have any past bills to compare because the house was empty before we came here.
On the other hand, It appears like it was really expensive when we got into it and we didn't realize she was trying to sell the stuff. But then when they went to install it, it only took them three hours to do it and it seemed like we paid that much for all of that unless that shield is really, really expensive. Because labor wise, there were only a couple of men and they were finished in not any more than three hours.
They were here a long time trying to convince us. That's kind of part of salesmanship, I guess. And we did end up getting it but it was a long time for a salesman to be with us and try to talk us into getting it. I have heard since then that having the shield does work but as to the particular company that made our particular shield, I don't know any comparison because I haven't done any research. From my understanding, you could tell a difference. I mean, the guy told us a bunch of stuff. He was new to this company, I believe, but when negotiation time came, he had to call the company because I could not afford the price that he quoted. I would not have purchased it at that price because I don't buy what I cannot afford. But he got somebody else who was qualified to help with the negotiations and I was able to afford something.
Two people came to install it. A gentleman came to install it, a plumber apparently, and locating the water source was difficult because he said normally the water comes into houses through the garage but mine didn't. Mine came in through the back wall of the kitchen. So he had to install it on the outside of the house. That's the one thing about the system I'm a little uncomfortable with because I don't think it's truly secure from tampering only because it's not within a locked garage. But that's not their fault. They worked with what was available.
I have noticed a change in the water but I've not had any issue with the water system. I would rate it a 4 because it's an expensive system for poor people. And everybody deserves good, clean water but it's not affordable to everyone because it is expensive.

I was at the Florida State Fair and Home Makeover had a booth there. I thought the saleslady was very good. She was really caring and fun. The sales manager came on. I think his name was Richard. He did a really nice job making sure that the well was working properly. They were very helpful. We had the water purification system installed on Feb. 22nd. Well there was a lot of sediment in my water and they did a really good job installing it, and get my well working correctly with the system. It tastes a lot better and it feels healthier to me.

It's been I think about almost a month now since I had the water system, the filter system, installed. Actually the water does taste better. It's a lot different. That alone has changed so we're happy with the system. The system is a great system.
The experience wasn't that great though with Home Makeover because first off, we decided to get the system and they wanted to put the system on right away. I was on my way to work, so was my wife. The kids are going to be home alone. My kids are a little old, but that's beside the fact. They're 14 and 16. Like about two hours later, I got a phone call from my son, ''Dad, the water's turned off.'' ''What do you mean the water's turned off?'' So they could put the system on. I told my son, ''Look out the window. Look outside. See if anybody's outside.'' He looked outside. They're already putting in the new system. I didn't think it was right. I was really pissed off. I told my son, ''Put one of the guys on the phone. Whoever's in charge out there, I want to talk to him.'' I told them, ''That's not right. I'm not home. I don't expect anybody working on my house while I'm not home.''
That was the only big thing I really didn't like about them. They didn't even make chances to change my mind or anything just like two hours later the system was there already. I was just like, ''What the heck is going on here?'' If I was to decide to change my mind, it would have been too late because the system was already in my house. Besides that little thing, otherwise everything else seems fine. Everything was working great. I will probably rate them maybe two. It's just that I don't like the way they just put the system in. I really think that was unprofessional. They put it in so fast without anybody home.

I had the insulation installed 2 or 3 months ago. I saw Home Makeover at the Florida State Fair. It seemed like a very good product. I think it was a little probably highly overpriced, but I got it anyway. Everybody was extremely professional. I have nothing negative to say at all. Everything went smooth and they were there when they were supposed to be. They finished when they were supposed to. I also think I noticed a difference in the temperature of the home. Very good experience.

BE WARNED. Do not use this company, they are awful. First, they will promise you a home visit for 45 minutes in exchange for a $25 Olive Garden gift card, then they send a person to your house. In our case, it was Barry. He stayed for 6 hours, and he will make you feel that you will save so much money by investing in these products. He will then tell you a lesser amount than what it really costs to make you feel like you’re getting a great deal. Then, they install immediately. The next day, they turn up with a contract that is not what they told you, but somehow rush you through it and make you believe what you're signing is the same. Unfortunately, I was not home at the time my husband signed it.
The next month, we had the water filter installed and hadn't had a bill yet for the attic. I was unaware of what had happened. Fortunately, I was at the signing and asked a lot of questions and didn't let them get away with giving us the wrong contract. When I realized they were trying to con us, I called the manager ** who immediately fixed this and reverted back to what Barry had promised. I then read through the attic contract and realized they had done the same thing and unfortunately, took advantage of my husband not being able to read the contract. I told ** this, and he said he would make sure both contracts were fixed. Two months later, still nothing. My energy bills were not 25% cheaper as promised every month. I called the number ** gave me as a direct line to chase it up. Apparently, he has moved onto greener pastures and the finance lady I spoke to was not willing to do anything to help. She also said the 25% reduction is not real, and they will not compensate you if your bill is not 25% less.
I understood my husband was conned and signed the wrong contract, and thank God I picked it up on the water, but I seriously wonder how many other people they manage to con on a daily basis. These kinds of companies were also reported on Channel 9 news last month for conning people on water quality. I seriously don't know how these people sleep at night. It’s disgusting. DO NOT USE THEM WHATEVER YOU DO. Do your research. I am now in over $**** worth of debt because we were conned. I wish I read this website before hand.

About a month, six weeks ago, we put in the water purification system and the insulation in the attic. We actually went to a home show, viewed some things that we wanted to do to the house and that's when we saw Home Makeover. It just happened to fit. We didn't really do a lot of searching around. We did look online to see that it was a reputable company. But other than that, we are satisfied so far. We talked to them. They came almost the next day and then almost the next day after that, they put the system in. So it was done relatively quick and so far we don't have any complaints.
Our water is definitely better. And I have noticed a difference in the heat that is trapped in the attic; it's not as intense as it used to be. Last year we had different temperatures, and it was actually hotter. It seems to have dropped a little bit. Utilities seemed to drop. They did a pretty good job and they kept their word. That's the biggest thing. I find them being thorough. There are a lot of people that tell you things and don't keep their word, but they seem to have kept their word and have done the job correctly.

We got the Puronics Water Purifier from Home Makeover about 2 months ago. We first heard of them at the Orlando Home and Garden Show. The sales person came to the house and was here probably a couple of hours. He showed us some things about it. We had already pretty much decided that we needed a whole house purification system so we had it installed.
The installation people had a hard time finding where to place it because we did not know where the water lines came into house. They were here quite awhile. But they finally got it set-up and we're satisfied with it. The shower is much cleaner and the water tastes better. It makes your skin feel better because it doesn't leave a film on your skin and soap lathers much better. I'm very happy with the system.

I went to the home show in Flagler and they, Home Makeover System, were there. And I was impressed with what they had to offer. So I decided then just for them to come in and talk to me about it. And after that, I was interested with what they said it would do so I decided I'd go try it.
The installation people cleaned up after themselves. I know they had to do that to the grass. The grass was disturbed then and until now it didn't grow back that good. That's the only thing they've done. They did tell me they'll have to do that part. So that's the only part I did not like, but other than that, yes, I would recommend it.
You know, it's very good. The water when you shower feels so good. The thing is according to them, I don't have to buy bottled water. I did not have this water tested since then, but I have not bought any bottled water. I have not found any fault with it. At the moment I don't know if maybe there will be any problem. It's too soon to say. I don't have any regrets right now. If I didn't have it, I would certainly get it again for myself. And overall, it's good.

I purchased the Puronics Water Purifier and Softener from Home Makeover about 3 weeks or a month ago. Everybody was wonderful - the sales person and the installation team. We had this because our water was not good. We knew that. We got a post card in the mail, from a company saying we get 50 dollar gift certificate, if we signed up with them. Honestly, that caught my attention. And that's when I called, and the salesperson was here within a day or two. The woman who came here was wonderful but it takes entirely too long. It was over four hours. But knowing when they asked you for 2 hours, people will panic.
The young man who initially came to install the next day started in the afternoon. And then someone else came the next day, and decided to do a little differently which is actually better than the first guy because the first one wanted wires running around the garage and we wanted it in the garage. And he knew what he was doing.
I checked out Culligan. Friends of mine have that and were very happy with it. But it really doesn't purify or softens. And we're very happy with this system and so is our neighbour who purchased it also on my recommendation.
I have hives on and off, and that's caused by a medical condition by my thyroid, and we thought perhaps the water had something to do with it but which it did not. However, the overall quality of the skin has improved. Hair is better; skin is actually softer and more moisturized, and it helped with the dry skin. And everything is easier to clean - the bathrooms, the floors, the kitchen and the stainless steel. I'm amazed with that. It is excellent.

He wasn't as pushy as most sales people, but this is something that I wanted to purchase so he almost didn't have to give me a sales speech because I'm going to buy the water filtration system anyways. I purchased it about six weeks ago.
The installation team came over. He came in to let me know that he was there, and he was installing it. He showed me how to adjust it, gave me the manual for it, how to check the salt levels and what not. Everything went pretty smoothly. I can actually drink it from the tap. It's nice. I was going to turn my garage into a room so I needed insulation. Someone from Home Depot contacted Home Makeover Systems, and they sent someone down to my place to give me advice on insulation. The gentleman that came to sell the service was very good at convincing me. They said that if they cover the whole roof on the garage, they can bring the light bill down. They guaranteed a 25% reduction.
They came to install the insulation about a month ago. The team that came to install the service came perfectly on time, and they did it quickly. I was actually amazed at how fast they did it; they were very efficient. The temperature in the garage definitely changed; it's much cooler now, although I still did some extra insulation on top of the garage because they didn't have them.
To date, I haven't had enough experience to see the results. I haven't really analyzed how much the bill went down. However, I find the overall experience satisfactory.

I needed to get some insulation, and I looked at either doing it myself or going with Home Makeover. Doing it myself would have been through the Home Depot and get the machine brought up there. My insulation was pretty worn out. I bought the house in 2005 but the original insulation when the house was built was in 2001.
I learned about Home Makeover Systems in a trade show. And about 3 months ago, I decided to get the Attic Shield installed (they also gave me the light bulbs and shower heads); summer was just starting and I did the cost savings for my energy bill. I've seen some improvement in the temperature, although I wouldn't say a hundred bucks a month. But maybe that will change when summer comes. I think it will probably pan out.
I was disappointed in a couple of things. First was the financing and the other one was they had agreed to provide me a set of pans, which never came. As part of the deal, they were supposed to put this stuff in the air conditioner to make it work and then they were unable to do that. They also did not contact me since to rectify those two things. I need to reach out to them. They haven't followed through with their end of the deal yet. 90 days for the finance is about to come upon me on the first of next month.
Overall, customer service is zero. There was not a single contact back to me since they installed it. They look to continue the relationship and they follow through to make sure you are happy, but they have not contacted me once. They did not follow through with their promises. My wife keeps asking me where the $**** pan set was because it's supposed to be part of what we negotiated for during the deal. They said it was about 60 days, and that was 3 days ago.
I became a full homeowner for the first time in 2005, and ever since then I go with 2 companies for home projects like these and Home Makeover Systems was the second one. The first one was Rain Soft Florida Energy. They do the Rain Soft water softener and they also did my air conditioner. And I find the service for both companies to be extremely poor. It makes me feel honestly like I wouldn't want to do another project with anybody because it doesn't seem like home companies are very dependable. I feel frustrated, betrayed and disappointed. I'm angry that they lied to me. I'm angry that they haven't followed through with me.

We got the water softener and water purifier about 3 months ago from Home Makeover Systems. They came over, checked the water, and they said the water was really, really bad. So we decided let's see how that works out.
The installation team came in and installed it, and that was it. There was no problem with them. We know the water wasn't good and a master plumber said that that doesn't do the trick of taking all the contaminants out of the water; it just softens it. Home Makeover Systems is saying that they do. So I'd like some kind of test kit just to check the water coming out of my faucet to actually see if it is doing what it's supposed to be doing. The only thing that you can really get is for a pool, and that only checks for chlorine. It doesn't check for anything else. We went to the water department to get the water checked for contaminants but it would be costly. It would have been $****, almost $****, so we didn't do that.
I can't say that the water tastes any different per se, but it is softer. I'm not too sure if I like that particularly. It's almost like a slimy feeling. The only problem I have is until I really get a definite answer that Home Makeover does take all of the contaminants out of the water. But I really don't have any proof that they do when somebody else who's a master plumber says that that's not the case. If so, I'm just wasting my money.

I had actually set up an appointment with one and I can't tell you for sure what company it is. I know it wasn't Home Makeover. They came and they were very, very rude, nasty and just all wrong. So that upset me. After that, all kinds of just continuous call.
I wasn't home. My husband intercepted a call and invited Home Makeover Systems to come into our home. So they came out and to my surprise, he was very nice. Everything, yes. I couldn't ask for a better one especially with the first experience. The man showed us examples and things and he was wonderful. I mean great, fantastic. I also had the attic and the windows done maybe like five or six months ago. They came, explained to me the details and how the attic shield works. The window pins worked and everything. They brought samples. They showed me the difference when they put it in under the heat. They demonstrated and showed me the difference (tests and everything), so I was very happy with what they showed me and everything.
Right now we're on the winter side, it's been on the cool side. We really haven't had hot days yet because it's been raining; I really haven't been able to tell yet, but when I do, hopefully it's better to it that they're by the shield attic and keep the attic cooler in the summer - not too hot. We found out about Home Makeover Systems from the Home and Garden Expo in Florida. The product, we're happy with. The company, we're not... The reason being everyone I've talked to on the phone has been for the most part very polite.
The two men who came to install it, one was very nice and I've already spoken to one or two people about it. The other one was just spitting on our attic. We weren't that happy about that. He said he wasn't spitting but we did clearly hear him spitting on the floor. It was more of hearing him cough up and it was just gross. My husband went up there and saw that a few things were not tucked out properly. He told them and they went right up back there and they fixed it.
I work from 8 o'clock until 3 o'clock or later and Home Makeover Systems kept calling me and calling me and calling me. I had no idea who was calling me. I didn't know why this number kept calling. So every time I would call, I would be put on hold for a few minutes and then the call would disconnect. At first it was happening every single day for 2 weeks. I was going to call and put the number on the 'Do Not Call'. We finally got in touch and we asked them to stop calling. We then started getting calls from another phone number from Home Makeover Systems, and the calling continued and continued and continued while I was at work.
When we decided to call Home Makeover Systems, we read some Better Business Bureau reviews. The one we read about was some of the sales tactics, and I have to say we certainly agree with those reviews. We have had a full month utility bills since we first had it in. So a whole month of having it bought and installed in our home. There's a slight increase in our bill but we weren't certainly expecting it to increase a lot given the fact that we are now running our AC every single day, and it's 90 degrees outside.
The attic is just right over the bedroom, kind of like it was the home theme of 1940 and the bedroom with a porch it looks like that got converted into another room. That room especially is very hot. It still gets warm in there but certainly not as hot as it used to. The product itself you can tell is working, but we're put off with the issues with the calling even the spitting. So even though we're happy with the product, I don't think we want to do business with that company again at all. The product we like, but not the sales tactics.

When we bought the house, Home Makeover Systems sent us a thing in the mail - 'Welcome to the neighborhood' kind of deal. 'Give us a call if you're thinking about it.' So we looked into it, checked out collagen and one or two others. It was a monthly bill that's why we paid once and it's ours forever. It does our whole house. If we ever sell or move or whatever, it goes with us. It costs $**** so I love it.
We had our water purification system installed on March 15. If you live in Florida, you have to get your own water purifying system, and we know it's the best. Before we installed the system the water was horrible, horrible, horrible. Your hair feels like straw. I have very long blonde hair, and I was clipping it. When I put dye in my hair to bring out the color, it didn't stick because the chlorine was so bad in the water here that the chlorine interfered with the dying. And anytime you got a cut or a rash or something, it wouldn't heal. It was bad. It was bad. We knew because we lived in the Florida Keys for 10 years and that's the worst you can get.
I used to bring home water from the Waffle House. I worked there for years and years so I would just bring home water to cook, water for everything. But then when we boarded the house up here in Deltona, I called the Home place and they came with this water machine. It's beautiful. It's a big cylinder. It's in my garage and it purges every night for three hours and it goes twenty feet into the ground, eighteen feet into the ground. That's why they wouldn't have to come and clean it; it doesn't have to be serviced.
I've noticed that my water bill is less because they also gave us the spigot that goes on the spout in your kitchen and your shower. There's like an hour shaped glass installed inside so it was like forced pressure. When you pour the water through, it shoots out and it saves on water. It shoots out a milder, wider range. It's beautiful.
I've already recommended them to my friends across the street. They're actually doing their own research now, and they're going to do what we went through. They're looking into it now, and I think my neighbor across the street is going to get it put in their home too. Overall, they were excellent. The guy that came was a sweetheart and a doll. I love you. That's all I can say. I just love it.

I'm wishing that I haven't paid already because their products are so-so. Now it's really getting hot and they promised me that my home will be more comfortable, and that I'll do a little better with my energy bills. Before it wasn't so hot when the system was installed. My home felt very comfortable; but now that it's getting cold, I don't see so much difference. I'm unhappy with the result.
I had a hard time with the finance, and I was very mad and very upset about it. I was the one that went to the show, and I was the one that set up the appointment. I was the one that decided to buy. I was the one that is going to pay and they put the name of my husband on the account. I have to have permission from my husband to be on their account and they say now that there is nothing that I can do and that's not fair; I'm the one that has to pay. He's not putting any penny because he doesn't have it, and I mainly will say that I wouldn't do any business again.
I gave them the chance to do what they said so I don't think they would do anything. The whole experience - the conference with the sales was very good. The installation in my home, I give a 2 rating out of 5.

I have not heard of Home Makeover Systems until they contacted me. Prior to the installation, I had city water. It was very hard and had a lot of chemicals and stuff in it. So I purchased the Terminator (water conditioner) and had that put in the first quarter of the week. Everything went good - no problem. The salesman was very friendly, polite and the installers were good. It hasn't been long enough to notice a change in the utilities though. I'd say they're okay I guess.

We had just moved here in January, so I don't know how they supposedly ended up with our number, and they contacted us. Home Makeover Systems called me asking about wanting to do a water test and things like that, which we wanted to do anyway, so we were happy about it. I got the water filtration system probably about the end of March.
The installation guy, the people on the phone, and everybody were nice and were great as they could be. They did whatever they needed to do and did a good job. The sales guy when he was here said I have to wash my truck that have spots on it, and I don't have to worry about having to dry it no more. Even the water, we don't have to buy water and so on.
Well, I still have spots all over my truck when I wash it, and I still have to buy water because it still didn't taste right. I did call them a couple of weeks ago. And when I get a hold of them, I'm still having some issues with it to this day. Like I said, I just spent $10,000 and I still got to buy water and bring my car or truck to a detail shop. This is supposed to be saving me money. I hope that they would straighten it out and fix things.

It was the water purification that I purchased from Home Makeover Systems. We've been in this house 7 and a half years ago. We had somebody come to the house. It was a newly built house that we wanted to protect like the water heater and the other appliances in the house, and our city is known for having bad water. So after a lot of discussion, we talked and weighed down on the price and decided to go ahead and do it. We got like a year interest refinancing on it (we have excellent credit so everybody wants to give us credit, including when we don't need it.). Anyway, every year we've had maintenance done on it. In fact the yearly maintenance was just done today. We've never had any problems. Everybody that has come to the house as far as the maintenance guys has been great answering any questions, if there's anything additional needed besides the basic maintenance, showing us what it is exactly what's going wrong and how we can prevent it in the future. So, we've never had an issue.
Do your research first. Know how much you need to pay and negotiate the hell out of the price. They never sold the system that we have as cheap as we got it for, but I knew what I was willing to pay, and they let me on that. I've never had a problem with it and never had a problem with the company. Overall, my experience has been satisfactory. They are easy to work with, understanding because when we do have an issue, they understand that we just don't have a couple of hundred bucks laying around to just throw at something. They know that it may take 30 days for us to get the money together to pay for something like that.

We got the water system installed probably three years ago. They discussed it, and the only thing I got upset about was that it was supposed to be $**** a year to come out and maintain it and all that and now it's $****, but that was the only issue - they said that due to the economy and due to how half an hour away they were and gas and stuff. The installers were perfect. They were great. No problems. We know there's a difference in the water. We just have to remember to put the part in. The water now tastes better and feels different. You know that it's working. The shower stays cleaner. Basically, everything is different. I'm happy with the quality of the system. Very good.

I had the water purification system installed. It was installed 6 years ago. The technicians with the people who have come here have been terrific on their end of it. I asked them questions while they're there, because I don't know how this thing works, and while they're doing whatever they're doing. But they've been very, very good with that. I asked them, 'What does that do?' and 'What is this?' or anything. They've been good. I haven't in years had any problems with it. The water seems to be fine. I mean, here in Florida we have that sulfur issue, but I haven't had it. My in-laws in Oviedo have had it. Probably, this ionic purifier is working better than most because I have nothing, no odd case, now or anything else. It's all been, as far as I'm concerned, clean water.
Generally if I'm out, I'm at a restaurant and have water, the water seems fine and tasteless. Other than that, I mean, it's only when I go to my in-laws now and then there's definitely the scent of sulfur. I love coffee and so does my sister in law. So the thing is I think she has the problem with that water now and then with her coffee because of the sulfur or whatever is in the water. It's been fine for a while over there.
The only thing I had initially, as far as I was concerned, the water was a little salty. I just tested it - it's almost like using a Petri dish, clear dish. And I would run some water about quarter of an inch out. And I'd just leave it out outside and it would dry in the sun and I'd see a little discolor, a little white. I'd add another little bit more, and then for sure it was salt. But I called them and they came back and they made adjustments and I haven't had it since. Because some of these things, when you look at it, there's all these little fine things that they do to it to adjust the water. As far as softening - that's the other thing with it - that seems to be all good. I mean, plenty of soap, it lathers up, and all of that.
Actually, the thing itself is probably 10 years old. We had it in our other house, and when we moved, we wound up taking it with us. That's part of the deal - they didn't want it. But anyway, we brought it here and I believe they're the ones who moved it. I called the company (they were formerly known as Great Southern Water). They moved it over and installed it at this house. Well, they checked it up to see if this was capable or if it was big enough to be used here. The shortcoming is I guess if you have a small unit and you have a lot of water usage.
Since they were the one with the installation originally in the other house, when I moved in and they would come every year to service it, I just called them and everything went fine. Definitely, I would recommend Home Makeover Systems. They come and they do their job, and everything works fine. The thing is like when these guys come and they're going, they look for the potential of something down the line that might or might not yet or did not happen yet but could because of the age. So they give me a little input on that and say, 'You know, maybe a year, maybe in two years, you might have to replace this ** (might or might not), but if anything comes up or you see some leaking or whatever, just call' and so forth.
They're good. As far as I know, they do me a little bit extra in the sense that they're checking these things out, like some minor stuff that maybe another company may add on another who knows what. It's just what I would say is minimal and I could probably do myself (some of it). I think they're right on top of it. They're excellent.

I got the Puronics, I believe, the water purification system. It's probably about a year now since we purchased it. Well, I can definitely tell the water feels better. When you take a shower, it feels much more cleaner. And it tastes better too. And the representative that came out, he was very thorough, very professional. He took his time and didn't try to rush anything. And basically, he did some demonstrations. I had a water purification system before in another state, so I was familiar about what they did. But this seems to be a better system. It seems like it's quality, and I feel really good about it.
Actually, I had a problem with the installation. I have sprinkler system in my yard and the man actually cut one of my pipes. And I didn't know it's an underground water sprinkler, so the water was running out. And I only realized that a week later. And I called them up, and they came right back out and then fixed it. No questions asked, no fuss.
The agent that they sent out was really professional. I mean, a lot of times, people call you, the telemarketers - they try to rush you into doing something. He was very thorough, he explained the whole situation. He explained how you do that - types of different financial options, if you don't want to pay for it upfront, that type of thing. He gave me his personal home number and told me that if I have any problems whatsoever, I could call him and talk to him about it first. And I haven't had any issues.
I'll definitely recommend Home Makeover Systems, no doubt about it. And you know the funny thing is that I've had people come to my home and stay here, like a vacation or something like that, and they all make comments about how the water feels like here, like, oh that feels kind of silky, makes them feel really clean. I've always told people that it was a pretty good system. I had another system before, in another state. So I kind of knew what I was looking for in a company. And I called several companies, actually, and discussed it on the telephone first. And I just felt more confident with the guy from Home Makeover. My experience with them is wonderful.

We had the water purification system installed probably like two weeks ago, give or take. It really didn't take that long for them to order it and then install it, and stuff like that. So, it was probably within like 2 or 3 days. I went to the home show that they had in Orlando. And I made an appointment with them. The following week, they came and talked to us about it. And we ordered it that day. In like two days later, it was installed. The installer did clean up after himself, and I always did offer him, if he needed anything to drink or anything like that. He was courteous.
The other system that we had was kind of, they had the sour smell. That's why we decided to change the system. We've noticed a significant difference between our water now and before. Home Makeover is a good system to have in your house. It's good. Well now, when I'm doing the dishes and stuff and taking showers, I feel cleaner than I did before. It was good.

Home Makeover is wonderful, of course. Before the water purification system was installed, the water smelled kind of foul. The texture of my skin was not smooth. It was pretty rough I should say. My hair was horrendous. Yes, it was horrendous. My skin, my face, it was so rough because it was like paper sand. Now, it's soft. I hate to say it but it's true. It's much softer. Sometimes, I don't require any lotion. Especially when I clean glass, you can see a big difference. And I'm very grateful. I really enjoyed it. I've had the system since September or October of last year.
I want to mention the sales person, I don't remember his name, but he's a gentleman. He went beyond call of duty to demonstrate the product, the value of the product, how important it is. He cleaned the floor and you name it...my bathroom - he did wonderful. He's a perfect gentleman. With ordering, thank God it was wonderful. The gentleman came. He didn't have to dig a hole in the ground or anything. He installed it in the garage within maybe an hour and a half. I think I've called once, because I thought I had a problem with it because it was noisy at 2 o'clock in the morning. And I didn't know that it was cleaning itself out. The serviceman came in. He adjusted whatever he had to adjust. He was very polite, very professional. The whole experience was wonderful. It was very professional. I must say the truth.
He was the first one to knock on my door, so I didn't really compare him to anyone else. He was like a little mad scientist. He had little tubes and he was experimenting before and after. And he was able to show me the minerals that the water had prior to the installment of the purification system. And he conducted several tests - the smell, the cleanness, the deposit minerals and everything. So he was intellectual and on scientific proof, he convinced me. And it was the best thing that ever happened. I come from up north and their system is totally different from here in Florida and I don't have problems with that.
Get it. It's a good investment. It's one of the best investments besides buying my house that I've ever made. I recommend it 100%. The product is very good. It might be a little pricey but you know what, you cannot put a price on health.

The installers just transported the unit over from the other house. They did put it in and they did put a new one in. I've had a system with them before. I had it put in about 10 years ago here in this house, and then I moved over to my husband's house and I had it transferred over there, and now I've had it brought back here. And I've been very satisfied with them. They're very polite to me and they're very patient with me. I'm an old lady and I have difficulty getting things done. They're patient with me, and that I appreciate very much. Home Makeover did a better job, better than what I had. The quality of the water has met my expectations.
The idea was to disconnect one and bring it over here, and they got rid of the old one that was here. They have brought the new one over to my place. They corrected everything that had to be corrected, and everything is working perfectly. I did my homework before I got involved in this. And I chose them over the competitors, because I like the quality of work that they did and the men that they sent to me were very good.
The water, it's a lot better than the town water (they know). The water isn't good without a purification system. It's terrible. While I was without it, I never used it except when I was using it in my coffee maker. And the coffee maker had a filter anyway, so I wasn't really using it. Home Makeover has been very good to me and very easy to work with. No problems. Everything went along just smoothly. They were well equipped with the necessary things to take care of it, and they made the adjustments that I asked for.

I have previously had another company's purification system in and I have a well, so I had a whole well package put in. And it's a lot easier to take care of and maintain and seems like the consistency of the water quality is a lot better than what I had before. And the ordering was very simple. Mike called and talked to the service manager. They told him what my issue was, and they came out and looked at it. At the point that they came out, I knew that I was probably about ready. If I stay with the existing company or if I needed to change company, first, it's gonna have to replace the equipment, because it was about at the end of its lifespan.
The people at Home Makeover came out, evaluated the existing system that I had, and basically offered me what I determined later, after I did some research, to be a better system than what I had in as far as capability and kinda walked me through the whole process as to how it was gonna be installed. And they were able to make the whole thing happen in about 4 hours, which was great. The installers cleaned up after themselves, presented well, clean-cut.
I've had the system in place now for a year and a half or so, and they have serviced it a couple of times. I had an issue where one of the components had failed and obviously things were out. So they came out on a Saturday, and they repaired the component that was the problem, and then they spent time making sure they clean out all the plumbing in the house, flushed our lines out, and made sure everything was perfect before they left. They did a great job. I would absolutely recommend Home Makeover Systems. It's a very positive experience - very courteous, professional, and timely.

Home Makeover has been taking care of every little problem I've had and they're very good on coming out on a timely basis. And I have absolutely no complaints about them at all. It's been a very, very nice experience and especially I'm by myself now. And I worry about things like that, the air conditioning, the heating, the water purification system, the water heater, you know, everything. And they have come out when I thought that there was a problem, but there really wasn't and they've come out and like I said on a timely basis and assured me that everything was okay and I've had nothing but good experience with them.
We bought the system when we moved down here from up north and we really didn't live in a home where there wasn't a purification system. But from what everybody tells me when they come over and taste the water, they said it's so much better than what's available around here. I mean this part of Florida is just terrible for water. I mean it's just lousy water - it tastes terrible and smells. It's hard water.
Everything went smoothly with the ordering process. The installers were absolutely friendly and cleaned up after themselves. They've been very, very good. Anyone would absolutely need the water purification system especially if they were in this area or any part of Florida. I've been down south, middle, up north and it's just all terrible, terrible water. So I would recommend this system to anybody. Great experience, very knowledgeable technicians and it's just a pleasure to deal with them.

Before I had the filter put in, if I emptied out the ice tray and that it melt naturally, it left a white gooky film on my sink. So I knew I needed a filter. I was using the Diana Pitcher (Brita). I have bought a filter for the master bedroom shower. But even cooking, I would still have to fill the pitcher up. I would have to rinse the food or the meat off, fill it back up - it was a pain to cook. And when I was buying water, of course, after I saw the gook, I wasn't going to drink the water. Because of my dentures, I can't drink cold water. It's a month and a half that I've had this and I'm able to drink the water straight from the faucet. I love the taste. I'm in Jacksonville and so the water has always been terrible as far as I know. And whatever they're using to 'purify' it is not working.
They sent me a card saying, 'If you let my salespersons come in, we'll bring you a package of paper towel,' which I love. It came in that day, same day. I ordered it the same day and by 9-10 o'clock that night, it was up and running. I don't know if they do it for everybody else. They cleaned up after themselves. They explained what they were doing every step of the way. Of course, I didn't really understand what they were saying. But if they had to come in, they always knock and ask that they come in and explain to me what they were doing.
HomeMakeover wasn't the first filtering system, but they were the second ones who came because I've just been in this place two years. I've been in Florida three this place. And so price-wise, they were reasonable. The first people weren't. Their price was just off the wall. I'm paying a mortgage - you want me to pay this much of money a month. I mean come on. Let's be realistic. And I believe I had been praying about the water systems. I didn't realize how much strain I was under by cooking with the filling up this pitcher. And the things that they just sell to clean were just the water with no chemicals anything. There was a rust stain on my shower that with just a little elbow grease, it was gone. That's very cool.
HomeMakeover kept their word. What they told me their product was going to do, it has done and continued to do. I mean just everything, I clean. It seems to me the cleaning goes easier or faster. I've cut down on products to buy to wash my clothes and so it's helping me with cost.

I had the water purification system installed. That was 12 years ago. Before, the water was undrinkable. And it was really, really hard. I took out the fixtures and stuff like that. I haven't had any issues with them since. Really, the ordering was pretty easy. They called as soon as I of course bought the house and I knew I wanted one so I went ahead and had them come out. They did the water test and all that good thing and I ended up getting the system. And then they were going to put them to put it outside. I asked them to put it inside and they said, 'No trouble. We'll take care of that.' And now it's just an annual service.
They're good people. Just be prepared to be on their calling list unless you call them to take them off, because they do offer six different things, I guess. The overall service is great. They always remind me to get the equipment service. The guy came out and made a suggestion that I get my entire purification tank free done after. And no high pressure sales or services. It needs to be done. You're a year and a half over. They took care of it. I mean the salesmen aren't pressured into selling you anything. They just come out and take care of the service, put things back, and off they go.

I attended the Jax Home and Patio Show in September and entered in a sweepstakes with Home Makeover Systems. They said I didn't win the big prize but did win a free energy light bulb and a free energy savings audit. They came out and performed the energy saving audit and explained about their product (Attic Shield) plus a few other energy saving devices and treatments, which would save us over $100 a month off our electric bill. He furthermore stated that the savings would pay for their product itself, so there would be no out-of-pocket expenses. My son asked him what the terms were, and he said $120 a month for 24 months, so we decided to have it done. They immediately scheduled installation the next day.
After installation, my son reviewed everything including the contract and found the terms were different than initially told and discrepancies in the installation. The contract terms ended up being about $124 month for approximately 90 months. Also, the installers stole a very valuable, irreplaceable item from the house. I immediately wrote a cancellation letter of the contract within the three days of the contract. A week later I was contacted by the corporate office asking what was wrong, and I explained to him our dissatisfaction with the product and what had happened. The company asked to send the lead foreman back out to inspect the installation and have us re-sign the contract. We explained our concerns over the savings we would be saving off the electric bill and that we didn't feel the product would pay for itself.
The rep did a good job negotiating a new price as well as backing the product. They also compensated for the theft by giving us $200 back (not really compensation at all since the item held much more sentimental value that no cash value could ever replace it). Well, it has been over 3 months since the installation of the Attic Shield and A/C conditioning, and we are seeing no apparent savings from our normal usage of the electric bill. And this is without the use of A/C or the heater running, unlike the pre-installation with the A/C running.
We feel that we have been misled in what this product could do, and we are seeing no savings at all! I am on a fixed income and was sold on this product by them stating the savings from my electric bill would pay for the product. It is not! It should be illegal for a company to advertise that and not be held liable. They refuse to do anything about it and just referred back to the installation contract and sign off sheet, which was all done the day of installation! Now, I am in debt for $5k, for something that isn't doing anything at all to save me money. Furthermore, the website was advertising 100% Satisfaction Guarantee, but since my complaint to the BBB, they have removed it. I wouldn’t recommend this product to anybody.

They did water purification. The overall picture, it was great. The salesperson was wonderful. The product is great. And the installation people were more than nice. They put all the old equipment away. They made sure we understood the control. We have already recommended this to several people.
I didn't like the water we had here. So for years, I'd been drinking bottled spring water. By the time they finished the testing, the bottled spring water was worse than what was coming out of our faucet. The biggest seller was she took a stick of butter (regular butter) out of my refrigerator and wiped it across the window of the microwave over the stove and she drew a line down the center and she said, 'Take your best cleaner and clean one half of it.' So I did. And you could still see little smears because it's grease. Then, she took a few paper towels and took the purified water and she cleaned it just that way until it's scraped. It was clean. You could see your face in it. And that was like, okay, you're not gonna get any better water than this. And to this day, all my glass, pub tables, my kitchen table's glass top, I don't use anything but a wet paper towel and a dry paper towel. We've hardly used any cleaners in this house except the pure water.
Home Makeover far exceeded what we had anticipated. We thought we're gonna get another water softener. We'd already had a company come in and check the water in that, and there was no comparison between the two.

I purchased a water filtration system from Home Makeover. If they took that system away from me, I would leave Florida. I can't even imagine my life without it right now. When we take our dogs to a park, they would even drink water with us. I think we have the best water ever. I have recommended them to a lot of my friends. Actually, one of my friends is getting the machine also.
I saw them at one of the home shows, and I called to get some more information, and they said they would need to come out to test the water and to see what they could recommend. They came (I think the next day, they came), and he tested the water, and he recommended two different machines for me, and I actually chose the stainless steel - the more expensive one. And the whole process of setting it up was great. They came to the house, did the presentation, and showed me how the system works. It was installed the next morning. They showed up on time. They said they'll be there between 10 and 12. And he was here at 11 and installed and cleaned up and left. It took maybe an hour and a half. It looks as if I didn't even know they were there. It's installed outside, so they were never in the house. And I had clean water after that.
They're absolutely fantastic. They were great. The salesperson was great. I didn't have any problems with them. I really don't have any issues. I have all the information they gave me. I received my soap from the mail in seven days. And I love the soap package. They did everything they said they were gonna do, and they did it very well and very quickly.

They had visuals and obviously they had some product demo with them, small scale whatever for what they could. And then obviously they had some visuals as well which made it somewhat easy so you could kind of get an understanding of how big it is, what you're kind of getting into and explaining sides and actually going through and discussing locations. So for me, it was very nice because being able to see okay, this is what's going to be done, this is where it will potentially go, this is where it's going to look like. Because I live in a townhouse so that's in front of my home, but they put it in front of the bushes, but it's somewhat concealed because it has got a black container, just stuff like that, where it has very well walk-through and nice visuals and demos.
The installation guy was really nice. He didn't mind answering my questions. I asked a lot of things but no, he was really nice. Unfortunately, because where they had to put the system, they weren't able to get it all in right away, so he did have to come back the next day which he promptly did and he finished it the next morning because he ran out of daylight. He was very nice.
I have a steady water. With the brand new home, I just want to make sure that I'm going to prolong the build up and prolong stuff coming in and what not, so I wanted to make sure I take care of the house and take care of us. But also, I want to make sure everything lasts longer. I had water purification system when I lived up north and that was old well water. That's one of the reasons I had it because I got it on my older home, which was not a new home when I had it but an older home. And because I enjoyed it on that system, I was inquisitive to go ahead and do it on this one as well.
They've contacted me regarding energy saving cost I think for installation of roof or something like that. I do live in a townhouse so I have to be careful with certain things. But unfortunately for them, fortunately for me, my electric bill is very low considering I live in Florida and considering I live in a townhouse that I haven't had to use the services. If something else came up, I would definitely see if it would be something that I could benefit from and if so, yeah, I would definitely go for them. Otherwise, if I don't need it, then no. I would recommend them. I had a fabulous, wonderful experience.

I'm very satisfied with it after I got rid of the chlorinator. That was nothing but a pain in the butt and a $**** every time they came up to look at it and that didn't last long. That was three or four years ago. I would rate them all fine. The only problem I had with it was that chlorinator and that was a tick little bump on there and just wouldn't hold up. After they came up several times, apart from the no charge, I told them, 'You know what, just take the darn thing. Get it out of there. It doesn't work.' And I haven't had any problem since then. I can't tell the difference with the water after it goes through the system or before it goes through the system. But I put down a brand new well at I think 140 feet and the water was just gorgeous either way. But I got the system and so I used it. I have a faucet outside before it goes into it, and I can have a glass of water there and it's good and I can have one that comes out of it that's good.
They sent a couple of guys out here. It was about 8 o'clock at night and they pretty much fluttered in by fly flight and left. I didn't have much contact at all with them but they said they'd be up that afternoon and they were true to their word. They did okay, I guess. I haven't had any major problems with the installation other than like I said that chlorinator thing. Everything else is done satisfactory and the people over there are very nice and easy to do business with. I would say they were very nice people to do business with.

Well, one of the bosses there, he grew up in my neighborhood. He was a young kid and now he's a manager. I have known him for a while. They do a good job and it cuts your electricity bill big time. I have had my attic shield for about probably a year now. I got one system over here too - $**** worth. It does a good job. I would recommend them. My experience has been fantastic. I had no problem with it.

Everything seems to go well. I had one thing that I wanted them to get back to me on, and I haven't had a chance to hear from them. I purchased their attic shield. I think it's a good product so far. I purchased it in October. It works best for the summer time so I don't really have like a definite yes or no. But I bought these products to help lower my electric bill and it has done that by maybe not by as much as they say; they guarantee 25%, which it did. But the rep was trying to promise 20%, which it did not. So the rep like underpromised, overdelivered.
I do know the people who installed it - hats off to them. They did a really great job up in the attic. I'm happy with the product. I would recommend it to a friend. It's a good product I think. My experience is weird but good.

I have nothing but good experiences with them. They come out whenever I call them and fix whatever needs to be fixed. I've been very happy with them. They service my water treatment system. They fill it with the salt and they do an annual maintenance. There's a big difference. Everything that is fixed with it, it tastes better, the tea, the coffee. It reduces skin conditions and makes your hair really soft and your clothes softer. They were very courteous, very knowledgeable. HomeMakeover Systems has a great product and they're a great company to do business with. Topnotch.
