The sales rep was a very nice person and wasn’t pushy. I got the Brita water softener and so far, I have no issues with it. All I got to do is keep an eye on the salt level.

Everything was great. They did everything very fast and I really like the system. I like how the water feels. However, my husband checked with the salesman yesterday because we haven't received the soaps and other things that we were supposed to receive. He said that after we had the service, in two weeks, we were going to receive everything, but we haven't so we're wondering.

Home Makeover Systems was knowledgeable and very pleasant. They stopped by unexpectedly. After our conversation, we went ahead and scheduled a service later on that evening. Ty came over and he was very knowledgeable and thorough. I appreciated him taking the time to demonstrate everything, because it put it in perspective. I was immediately sold.
The system has been great. I'm happy with the service and the effect it has had since then. I'm a tea drinker. The purest it gets outside of just water itself. I was already using a filter system to purify water. But between the taste of my tea and how the water feels and the moisture of my skin after my showers, there's a difference there. Also, I've been noticing the effect that it has in my sink. That was one of the biggest reasons why I moved forward with that, and the internal health. The sink gave it a nice visual presentation on exactly what is happening.

We bought a filtration system for the whole house, and the sales rep was super nice and helpful as well as very knowledgeable. Home Makeover Systems came the next day for the installation, and we love our experience. Everything is fantastic too. There is a huge difference in the water's smell and taste, and it's super easy to clean dishes.

They were good. They rushed to install the system before we got the credit card or the financing summary. They promised us that we're going to be paying for seven years, ** a month. We got to find out from the credit card company that if we pay $** a month, we end up paying 13 years, and about almost $**. The Brita system is good. It works fine. But I'm not happy with them. It's just a big scam. It's $** for a filter or you'll buy it at Home Depot, same filter, for $2,000, and have it installed for another $500. I'm not recommending them to anybody.

I had a good experience. The sales rep of Brita was very friendly, professional and informative. At first, the installation of the tanks, they did what they were supposed to do. But, the route of the cable and the way that you can see the cable, I asked them if there was any way that they can hijack that power cable. Exactly what I asked, they did. The water being treated is doing what it's supposed to do. My skin feels better, not tight like it used to be, and the water tastes different.

The product is good. I can tell the difference in the water. From it being so hard at first before I had the system, the water got soft after all the old water came out. I also had a great experience with the rep. He made sure that he showed me everything, the ins and outs.

We were approached by Home Makeover Systems and they ended up doing a demonstration. The main guy that did the demonstration for us was a great help, and he was a real pleasure. We got the Brita PRO home water system. The installation was really smooth. We weren't here for the installation, so we remotely opened up our garage. They took care of it and were pretty communicative. They let us know when they were done, and we closed the garage up. We really liked the system. My wife was struggling with her hair falling out because of the horrible water and after we got the filter, we've noticed a significant amount of less hair falling out.

I love the water purification. So far, we save a lot of money on bottled water because we have this pitcher. I just refill it from the fridge or we just open our faucet, put some ice on it and we're fine. The installer did an amazing job. I'm very satisfied with it.

The sales up was very pleasant and with great presentation. The first issue we had was that they installed the Brita water softener somewhere we didn't agree on. So they had to come back and reinstall it somewhere else the next day, which still wasn't where I wanted it, but it'll do. In the rep's presentation, he said that we would no longer have to squeegee our glass doors in both our bathrooms and we're still doing it because it's still staining the glass.
Also, he said for five years, we’re gonna get these products and that we wouldn't have to buy any more cleaning solutions to clean the house or clothing or bathe with. And in our spring cleaning, the supplies he gave really don't do it for us and we have to continue buying cleaning solutions. Both things were misleading. Additionally, I haven't seen a real big improvement in having a Brita system. I would like the sales guy to come back and test the water now with the system and see if I still get the same results. And if I don't get them, then okay, the system's working. But if I do then my system really didn’t do anything for me.

The softener that I had previously got old and the water wasn't coming through properly. When I boil the water from the filter, there are crusty things in the kettle and the water was kind of smelling foully like. So, I realized that something went wrong and I decided to get a new one. A friend of mine recommended Brita because she has one. For now, I'm pretty satisfied with my softener.

Home Makeover Systems was awesome. I already knew that I wanted a system. I just didn't know who I wanted because I had a previous system and I wasn't happy with service or anything with them. I went on Angie's List where I found Home Makeover Systems. I called and the guy that I spoke to was very helpful over the phone. He said, “Let me call my salesman and see when he could come there.” This was all done Tuesday morning. Tuesday evening, Phil came to my house. I had him test my water. I know that the water sucks down here so it’s not even an issue. He told me about their system. I was familiar with the Brita system from having the Brita one that they sell in the stores. He explained to me about their professional system and how that works. He said, “Would you like it installed tomorrow?” That was Wednesday. I said, “Not Wednesday. How about Thursday?”
He said, “Let me text my service guy.” He did, and we scheduled it for Thursday. The gentleman that came was Jay. I probably couldn't find a better person in doing what he did. He was awesome, explained every step of the way and what he was doing. He had to dig dirt, rocks and run electricals. When he got done, I was so impressed. Once a year for five years, they'll send us products like soap and body wash. A box came last week and because I paid cash, I got even a nicer discount. So, it was worth it. There's a lifetime warranty on it, too, which is nice.

We always referenced the Home Makeover Systems whenever we were trying to get quotes. Recently, there was one gentleman from ClimaGuard that came out and talked to us beforehand who got the quotes. Then there was a supervisor who came out the day before they started and the day they initiated the work and then the last day that they finished the work. They cleaned up well. They took care of the stuff that they left outside. They also followed what we had asked them to do.
We would recommend Home Makeover Systems as far as the services. We've used them for several different projects and always came out with people that would answer questions. The initial service we used was a concrete company but we had trouble with them. But we went back to Home Makeover Systems and they helped us to get some resolution to it. They didn't fix everything, but we got a better resolution after talking with the rep.

I had Home Makeover Systems paint the exterior of my home and the house looks great. Paul, the sales rep, was great too. The workers were good and Ronnie was a great help. We got his staff to take care of some other problems that were created by other people. They worked well together. My wife was upset though because whatever they used in their paint or other surface preparation materials washed them out in our yard and killed our grass, so we have several spots in our yard that are completely dead. We're gonna have to resow it.

Everything’s going great. From day one, I ran water, filed up my water bottle and put it in the freezer. The water tastes a lot better than even the bottled water. I use the water on my face and I wash up with it. It leaves my body feeling soft versus rough and dry afterwards. I don't have to put a lot of lotion on with the water like I was before. I’m enjoying it for my whole family. I love it.

Home Makeover approached us about doing away with our old system and getting the new one because it was supposed to be so much better. With our old system, we had to put salt in it every month. With the one, you don't put the salt in it nearly as often. Also, they service it every five years rather than each year. They put the system in and within a week, we had the first leak. The first time it flushed, it put water all over half of our garage. We have carpeting where we park the car on so it got that all wet. We called Home Makeover and they came out the next day. My husband had to use some pretty strong language to get them to do that. The next week, we had the same problem with a different hose. When it flushed, the hose came unhooked and it sprang a leak. We contacted the company again and they came out the very next day and fixed it. Again, my husband got very irate with them.
We were getting a red ring in our commodes and the other thing that this new water softener was supposed to do was take care of that. It has. We haven't had this water system for that long but we are hoping that it lives up to the promises that it's going to be better for us. My husband and I have high blood pressure and we thought not using as much salt might be better for us. We like the water softener. The new one is a nicer looking system. But it was unfortunate that we got the carpeting wet out there twice. That's very frustrating.

When they mounted the system, they pushed the pipe a little out too far, and I was concerned with the angle of it. It looked like it was putting too much angle on a 90 would break it eventually. So I called them and the guys came out here and jumped on it. Even one of the managers called. They fixed it ASAP. So I'm pleased with it. The system looks pretty heavy duty. I notice the PVC look like something from a pool, so it looks like it’s sturdy. It looks strong. So far, everything is working. The water quality looks good. We're happy with it so far.

I was able to text the rep and then go over paint samples. He came over when he was able to, to talk about more and what my options could be. Walked around the house to look at everything. He was very respectful, kind and kind of dumbed things down to the way that I could understand. He wasn't very pushy. Towards the end, he was being a little bit pushy, because it was so expensive and he wanted to get a sale. But overall, he was very nice.

The rep promised me that the water was gonna be drinkable and everybody will like it but we don't like it. The water tastes salty. The system works very good for cleaning but for drinking, I buy my filter at Bed, Bath & Beyond. But Home Makeover Systems has good communication and professionalism. Also, they promised me that I will not have to put salt like every month and that has been true. What I'd like is for them to give me what they promised. Derek, the guy that called me, was a very good salesman. He talked to you like a person. It was like he wasn't trying to make a sale. He was just trying to tell you about a product that was good, why you needed it, and why you would want to upgrade. I felt like he had great communication skills and he listened and he answered all my questions. He wasn't pushy as well. He left it up to me. I told him I would check with my husband and get back with him, and he didn't make the next contact with me. I made the next contact with him, which was a couple of weeks after.
We liked the first system we initially had in our home, and we just got a new Brita PRO, which is the upgraded one. We've had it a month or so. It's supposed to save us on our water bill because it cycles less. It has a new computer system in it that calculates how much water we use versus the old system. It also uses a lot less salt and the maintenance on the system is supposed to be less, every 7 to 10 years versus every year. That's why we went for the upgrade. All in all, Home Makeover Systems was confident, they were thorough and they know what they're doing when it comes to the water system.

I had to have maintenance on my water softener system and someone named Derek called to let me know about a promotion that Home Makeover Systems was doing. I went with it but in the end, I felt like I was taken advantage of. The system that I had before was a Puronics system and it was a 13-year-old system, but it still worked. It just needed maintenance every year. But he claimed that I was spending between 220 and 225 for approximately 12 years and if you times that, that’s close to about three grand. He told me that with the system that they were selling, you don't have to do any maintenance. He also said that it would cost about three grand but I would have free maintenance and never have to worry about paying for anything again. So I said okay and I ended up buying a Brita system.
When he first started talking to me about the system, I did a quick research on the system myself. I am a consumer, so I needed to know what I was buying. A lot of people have been saying that the system does better but I was trying to compare it to the Puronics system and unfortunately, he claimed that the Puronics system was obsolete. But I found out it that it wasn't obsolete and all he wanted to do was sell me something. Last year, the only thing that I had fixed on that old system in about 13 years was the thing inside it that pumps the water. From time to time, the time clock needed a fix, but it was an analog. It had gears and eventually was going to wear out. But the system was fixed and it cost me about $120. The guy who normally repairs it that works from HMS also told me that there was nothing wrong with my old system and that he didn't understand why I sold it.
I told him there was this gentleman named Derek who called me and that he claimed that he was the vice president. But he said that Derek was not their vice president. He was just the salesperson and he sales pitched me something that didn't come through. That's not cool because he's claiming that he's someone for the company and the company is not validating for him. Aside from that, when he sold me the Brita system, he took my Puronics away, which I found kind of weird because I wondered why he would take my old system away. But he claimed that it was a trade-in for my system to bring down the cost. And now I'm stuck with this system because I can't get back my old one.
A couple of weeks after I got the Brita, Toho, my local company that does the utility company for water, asked if there was a reason why I was spending 16 to 17,000 gallons that month. They said that according to their records, I had an influx of water gallons going up. They gave me a rundown from Monday to Friday. On Monday, I may spend 200 gallons. On Tuesday, I may spend 300 gallons. Then on Wednesday, I may spend 1,500 gallons. I asked them how was that possible and they asked if I had been running the water or had anything out of the ordinary. But I told them that I was doing the normal things and there are only two adults and two kids here. Nothing had been running and we did our washing every three days, give or take. Our dishwasher ran at night, but it was just a quick run. I also checked all the stoppers in my toilets and everything was sealed.
Then, they asked if I had a pool and I said yes. They said maybe I filled it, but I didn't. I filled 16,000 gallons when I got the pool four years ago but I haven't filled it since because luckily, it rains a lot out here. In fact, I have to drain the pool because it had rained so much at the time. Then I thought that maybe it was this water softening machine. I called Toho and they came out. When they checked it, they could clearly see the usage history and it stated that some days I had 300, some days I had 400, then on a random Thursday, or every three or four days, I had an influx of 1,000 to 1,500 gallons. So they were telling me that it might be the system. They told me that they needed to troubleshoot to make sure it was the system and that they had to shut down the water softening system. So I had it shut down since Tuesday and now, the water sucks because I'm drinking the city water.
All in all, Derek blew smoke up my butt and I am not happy with the system that he sold me. We only have it for less than six weeks and it's already all haywire. It has its electronics and it is digital, but it also has its cons. This month, I had to pay $182 in water but my average is 85 bucks. It's ridiculous. When I asked Toho when the influx of water started, they told me it started back in the beginning of September. That was so funny because that was the time that I bought the system from this company. I am not going to say that the company is selling cheap products but right now, the company does have someone named Derek who's not honest and the machine that he sold me is a lemon.
At the moment, I'm waiting for tomorrow to call Toho and I know for a fact that Toho’s going to give me the good news that I'm only using somewhere between 200 and 300 gallons, and take it from there. The gentleman from Toho also told me that he had a problem once with his own system, that it was recycling consistently, so maybe that's what's also happening with mine or the settings were not put in correctly. The one who came to do the troubleshooting also told me that the problem is not with Toho, it's the machine. He promised me that he's not just going to get me a new piece to fix the computer, he wants to get me the whole head brand new. So we don't have to bother with that machine anymore. I'm counting on his word because I don't trust Derek and I don't count on his word.
Other than that, the gentleman who came to do the installation did a good job. But when he first started something, he broke my pipes. I told him that I knew that PVC is not supposed to last forever and that happens. But something happened where he was trying to turn something off and he didn't know that there was this much pressure in the house. I have good pressure in my house and he was telling me that he didn't expect this pressure to pop in. And it blew the pipe off.
We had to both help each other. Thank goodness I was there and I helped him shut the main valve off. The poor guy was drenched and I gave him some clothes to wear while we did what he had to do. I also cleaned and dried his clothes, and he was using my clothes while he was fixing the installation. At the end, everything came out right and I'm not going to complain about the way he did the PVC cutting. Unfortunately, he had no control over the pressure. But as a professional, he was good.
Still, I was dissatisfied with my overall experience with Home Makeover Systems and I would tell people that if they got the Puronics system, they should keep it. Home Makeover was great as far as the installing and maintenance, but their sales reps and their maintenance callbacks needs improvement. You have to call them and they don't call you. And I had to call them three times. The worst part is that they didn't call me back but they sent the maintenance guy and the maintenance guy was the one that called me. That sucked.

We got a water softener from Home Makeover Systems and we love it. Every technician and person that we dealt with over the phone were pleasant and accommodating. We've been longtime customers with them and they always take care of us. Great product, water tastes great, feels great in the shower, and clothes come out great. I didn't think they could make a better system than what we had before, but they did. We're very pleased with our water, especially with Florida having one of the worst water in the country. I'm happy with it.
